First stab at a Proper Animatic™! Is it any good? Who knows! The point is I FINISHED IT. Anyway, Kayne is my favorite Malevolent guy, love how expressive he sounds, and I wanted to draw some faces. Then, because I entirely lack restraint, I failed at narrowing down which section to try to animatic at. So I threw up my hands and committed to attacking the entire scene. All 5+ minutes of it.

📏 What’s your go-to canvas size?

i've been trying to make em smaller to make the files less big, so generally it's been.. maybe 1200x1300 pixels? i use 1600x2000 or 2000x3000 for more detailed works though

📚 How many layers do you typically use?

uhh good question! for animatics i use anywhere from 4-7 layers, (sketch, background colors, main lineart, main base, background lineart, background base, and then an overlay over all of it). for polished illustrations it really depends! could be anywhere from 10-30+, but i think 16-20 is probably my average(??)

i don't really have a favorite piece of music to draw to? i have music that i put on loop for the entirety of the day/week and then leave it on while i'm drawing. right now I have liminal space by mxmtoon (especially dramtic escape) on loop, but yesterday it was Waltz in E-Major, Op. 15 "Moon Waltz" by Cojum Dip.

hey, i tried to find the song you used in the kayne animatic you posted not long ago but couldnt find anything, whats it called?

The song isn't available yet, but the artist, Waitress, has it available to presave I believe. It's called The Bad Place and it releases on the 23rd if I remember correctly.
