It was 5 am when I finished this, but this isn’t about me. This is about Malevolent redesigns because I am free from college and I can.

Naturally I start out with my beloved King in Yellow with a human design (no one is surprised)

And at this point, it’s a requirement for me to draw Kayne and KiY looking and acting gay as hell.

I’m very tempted to make more of these kinda character sheets because I have having to search through the archives to find art and it isn’t even up to date.

He drifts above them, his massive crown blotting out the sky, flowing robes of silk and gold rippling out from his body like water as he begins his graceful descent. His face is inscrutable, incomprehensible, his unmoving gaze locked with John’s."

Please check out the fic! It is a beautiful and viscerally written study of John's psyche after accidentally taken over Arthur's entire body, leaving nothing of him behind after stumbling into a ritual site.... So it is up to John alone to get Arthur back!

I think the most underrated motif in Malevolent is the music motif brought up by the butcher. This idea that every person has their own symphony or music in them.

Because he’s right when he asked Arthur if he here’s it too. Because Arthur does. Faroe’s song is obviously his music. He is constantly thinking of in to the point that it’s ingrained in his muscle memory to moment he’s at a piano.

But so many characters also have that same motif. Kellin has his. Same with The King in Yellow/Kayne depending on how you analyze the song on the radio. I know Kellin’s overlaps since it’s the same song. Either way, it signifies that unease, as though someone or something is watching. And knows.

I don’t pay too much attention to the background music in the show but I honestly should. See how many characters had different themes.

Part 20 in a nutshell

I feel like we don't talk enough about how Kayne basically said Arthur stole the KIY's heart-

My take on MLP au lets go. I couldn't decide whether I wanted the King in Yellow and 'Yellow' to be dragons or ponies, so. They're just both. John likely also has a pony form I'm just indecisive so nothing for that yet.

John's human experience is not going so great

I feel like John would take a long time to acclimate once he gets his body, and would even enjoy it for a while, but after the initial novelty wears off he has a bit of a relapse (in True John Fashion) and it's just battling his nature and desire to be better, but seems to keep losing (ALSO in True John Fashion)

I AM VERY MUCH OBSESSED with the idea of John, going on a solo trip after getting his body as well, for as much as I love him and Arthur navigating it together, I feel it's very important for him to have his self discovery moment,, only, it doesn't really go well

maybe he starts getting exasperated and feeling trapped again, and maybe nothing he does is working to justify the pain that comes with humanity maybe he would find it all futile and in a lapse of judgment, have a try at getting his godhood back, or maybe not that, maybe just his incorporeal status back

idk why as I was thinking of it my mind went to the Green Knight, and the search for easy ways to claim an honorable life, while scoffing at the work it takes to make one truly worthy of recognition and honor

and the idea of John going into the world to find the thing that'll TRULY turn his nature and make him good, and then failing so miserably

crawling back to the King at some point against his better judgment, and finding no answer but a nihilistic response expected from an Old One
