[Fic Reupload] - Another old fic with this OT4 from early 2018.

Summary: Bokuto, Kuroo, Akaashi and Kenma have a vacation-gone-wrong when they end up snowed in in their little cabin. How to entertain oneself when snowed in? (Also on AO3)

“Okay okay, my turn. I spy… with my little eye… something red.”

Akaashi rolled his eyes when he felt three pairs of eyes on him. 

“Akaashi’s shirt!” Bokuto yelled happily. Too happily. 

“Yes, again. How original,” he sighed, but Kenma, of all people! continued the stupid game.

“Something blue,” he said without even saying the whole line.

Bokuto and Kuroo looked around greedily. “My socks? Suitcase? The cookie package over there?” 

“That’s green.” Akaashi was starting to get more and more annoyed by all this. This was the third day he was stuck in here. Stuck with these three tiring pricks.

Well okay, they were his lovely boyfriends, and he did agree to go on a short vacation with them for the holidays. An active vacation. Skiing, snowboarding and hiking through the snow mountains. If only they had known the weather would get so severe that they’d end up snowed in for days in a row.

Stuck in their little cabin with 3 boyfriends who were growing more and more annoying with each hour they had to spend in here. Or maybe that was just him. 

“I spy with my little eye… something grumpy.” Akaashi’s eyebrow twitched, and he glared at Kuroo who said this with a dirty smirk on his face.

“Now what could that be?” Bokuto now also turned to smirk at him, and Akaashi frowned and held the book he was reading higher in front of his face, crossing his legs that were stretched out on the couch as he claimed one all for his own while the other guys sat together on the other. 

“Why aren’t you playing?” Kenma asked Akaashi, giving him this look as if he only realized his presence now, and Akaashi gave an uninterested shrug.

“Bored,” he said. He then looked at all of them, unable to keep the frown from tugging at his eyebrows. “You’re boring.” Ouch. It was out before he wanted to, but he was not really in a mood for apologies either.

Especially when they began to provoke him more. “Why are you grumpy?” was the next question. Bokuto inched towards him, getting closer to his couch, and Akaashi turned halfway so his shoulder could press against Bokuto’s chest to keep him from getting closer.

“Get off,” Akaashi muttered. Yes he was moody and grumpy, no shit Sherlock. This wasn’t the vacation he saved up all that damn money for. And they were being annoyingly lively and stupid. Wasn’t anyone else disappointed and frustrated? Bokuto simply pushed against him and wriggled himself next to Akaashi so he was pressed towards the middle.

“Whyyy are you grumpy?” Kuroo joined in, sitting on Akaashi’s other side and placing a few pokes in his side. Akaashi jolted and tried to slide down as he dropped his book to the floor, only causing his shirt to slide up to reveal his belly. Oh shit.

“Why are you grumpy?”

He suddenly had Kenma in his lap, like a little kitten he was crawling on top of him and normally Akaashi would have adored it, hadn’t it been for those two naughty little paws that grabbed at his bare sides.

“EEp!” Akaashi gasped, and he flailed hysterically before both Kuroo and Bokuto each grabbed an arm and sat down on them, trapping them tightly.

That was it. Akaashi couldn’t move.

“Guys, get off,” he sighed, panic slightly rising when he got the inkling of what these little snots were planning, but sadly Bokuto was already pushing up his shirt and massaging his bare chest lovingly. Kuroo traced his ribs lightly with his fingers and Kenma drew circles around his belly button.

“S-Stop…” he said with clenched teeth, trying to keep in the giggles, but the three merely exchanged glances before eyeing him with those awful smirks again.

“Only if you stop your sulking Akaashi,” Bokuto said, and Akaashi spazzed when Bokuto’s hand on his chest suddenly made a claw, fingers dragging ticklishly over his skin.

“Can I help it this vacation – sucks! No wa-wawwait nooohoho!” Akaashi’s ‘sucks’ had been a hilarious shriek and all three were laughing now. Laughing at him! Jerks! 

“Haha Akaashi you’re so cute when you’re being grumpy,” Kuroo said, and he wiggled his fingers over his ribcage, causing Akaashi to laugh even more.

“But even cuter when…?” Bokuto said, and he glanced at Kenma who was grinning adorably.

“…you’re laughing,” Kenma finished. And so three – three!!! – pairs of hands began to tickle the hell out of him. Akaashi threw his head back and shook his head. No way. The last time they had ever done such a gang attack on him was…was when? Eh, never?

It was always Bokuto tickling him, or Kuroo, or maybe sometimes Bokuto and Kuroo. Playful, brief, sometimes demanding. Not like this. Kenma was a little less tickly, mostly soft ticklish touches and little fluttery strokes that made him giggle softly. But definitely never a massive attack like this. It felt insane!

Akaashi was laughing until he thought his lungs and stomach were going to burst. Already! “WAHa-I hahahate you guuuys!” he cried and he jerked heavily when both Bokuto and Kuroo each took an armpit to tickle.

Meanwhile Kenma had made a creative journey around his stomach, abdomen, down his hips and waist and was now making his way down his thighs to get to his feet. Well fuck.

“Look who isn’t bored anymore!” Bokuto chimed happily, digging his fingers deep in Akaashi’s armpit and tickling him with too much enthusiasm for a lively guy like him trapped in a cabin for three days. Or maybe… maybe that’s exactly why he was being so active right now. Same story for Kenma and Kuroo.

They were tickling him so wildly and roughly, drawing laughter out of him he didn’t even know he could have. The loud shrieky kind of laughter, his voice cracking with each time Bokuto and Kuroo renewed their attacks; armpits, ribs, sides, tummy, and Kenma… Kenma. 

“STAhaahp! Nohoho K-Kehheenma please!” he sobbed when Kenma started his fourth round of tickles. With his short little nails he started at his heel, then made a scribbly tickly round around his bare soles, not skipping his arch nor the balls of his feet and under his toes.

And before he could get even used a liiittle bit to any sort of sensation, he moved back and finished the circle. And again. “EEeehehe!” Akaashi screeched. He was out of control, but there wasn’t really anything he could do.

His feet were stuck between Kenma’s legs who sat with his back towards him, pinning them down with his weight while his fingers did those things to his feet and – woah. His bare feet that had been cold from not wearing socks today were feeling all warm from the unwanted attention, and so was his whole body.

His chest was burning from all the laughing exercise, and oh, he was even half aware of Bokuto kissing him hungrily. “HMhaaahh!” Well he now realized really well since he could barely laugh like this. Bokuto was cupping his cheek and kissing him passionately, one hand scribbling all five fingers up and down his sensitive neck.

Meanwhile Kuroo blew rasp-fucking-berries onto his stomach and Kenma had shifted his attention to only one foot, using one hand to push his toes apart so he could scribble that little short nail at that killer spot.

“OKAokaokaoakay! I’ll plahahaaay!” Akaashi finally managed to wheeze out when Bokuto finally pulled apart so he could lick, kiss and raspberry his neck.

“Staaahahap! I’ll d-do as you sahahay now stoppit!” Akaashi laughed. His arms were growing numb under the heavy weights of both males, and he was feeling as if he was on the brink of passing out.

“Hm?” They all suddenly stopped, and Akaashi gasped desperately for air. Woah. That was intense. Though his view was blurry, he looked at every single one of them. Kenma sat half turned, looking at him with a small smile.

“Feeling better Akaashi?” he asked.

Better? 

“Yeah,” he panted, though he had been very close to yelling “no!”.

Truth was, even though he was aching from all that uncontrollable laughter, running out of breath, and wet from sweat, tears and his naughty boyfriends’ saliva, he was also feeling… somehow less grumpy. Even when what they just did to him could’ve been reason enough to throw another fit.

“You’d better be Akaashi,” Bokuto warned, hooking one finger in his armpit that made Akaashi choke out a squeaky giggle.

“We know you’re always cute, but grumpy isn’t your thing Akaashi. We’ll make you laugh again if you’ll be like that,” Kuroo said with a gentle smile. Kenma nodded.

“It’s too bad about the weather. But we’re together, right? Let’s make the best of it,” Bokuto said, spreading his arms. Kenma was back in his lap, facing him and leaning in to kiss his lips.

“The best,” he muttered against his lips, and Akaashi jolted when Kenma’s warm hands squeezed his sides teasingly.

“No! No more,” he wheezed, looking at them in horror and squirming.

“But Akaashi, you didn’t like our game. At least when we tickle you, you’re not bored is that right?” Akaashi’s eyes widened.

“Nonono I’ll play, let me rest! I spy with my little eeeheeeyeye!!” His boyfriends were relentless. Ruthless, evil and mean, but also cute, playful and a bunch of stupid dorks that made Akaashi suddenly feel less bad about this stupid wasted vacation. And that while they were almost murdering him. Talk about his true love for them!

Fanfiction Year in Review 2023

I fill this out every year. It’s become a bit of a tradition for me. Allows me to reflect on everything that I’ve written and kinda think about where I want to go next. And I like it better from the ask games because I don’t have to wait for asks to come in and can compare my answers from one year to the next. ^_^

Published: 151,018 words (more than twice 2022’s number!! Go me!!) 

Those numbers are incredibly close together because I haven’t been redrafting as much. Those numbers include six one shots, three completed multi chapters. And another four multi chapter WIPs saw at least one update.

And in another fun milestone! I broke a million words published on Ao3 just this last week!! (I've been writing fic since 2003 and everything I've ever written is on Ao3!)

3 Your most popular fic:

Not Part of the Plan - I suspect that this is mostly because being a teen pregnancy fic, it’s my most tropiest story this year. Haha! 

4 Your personal fav:

Aftermath - This story has usurped Right Behind You as my favorite. I’ve been able to connect to the raw hurt and grief in this story, and there’s something very raw and human about it that others seem to be able to connect to as well. I think it’s some of my best work, and that is also thanks to an amazing beta in @ladyofthenoodle who has lent her expertise in more than one way in making this one more true to lived experience. 

5 Your fav scene:

It’s so hard to pick a favorite!! I narrowed it down to my three favorites in no particular order. 

The last scene in Ch 5 Love Remains - Chat Noir give amnesiac Ladybug a geography lesson from space. It’s got Whole New World vibes, and I just loved the imagery of it.

Ch 4 of Aftermath - I’m particularly proud of Marinette’s panic attack when Adrien tells her she doesn’t have to keep coming over. Like it feels like it comes out of nowhere, but it just totally makes sense. And how it manifests and how she soothes herself (it’s not healthy, but it’s so GOOD!)

Ch 7 of Would Trust You With Everything - The scene where Chat Noir tries to tell Nino who he is, but inevitably doesn’t. And how Nino reassures him through all that. This scene feels so raw, but so heartwarming in light of Adrien’s fears. And I don’t know - it’s beautiful to me.

6 A fic or scene that challenged you:

I really struggled with Right Behind You this year, though it wasn’t for lack of trying! I had started out the year hoping to go back to an update a month here and I only updated it three times throughout 2023. 

This was incredibly frustrating because the initial drafts of scenes would come pretty easily, but I couldn’t seem to make them pop the way the earlier chapters did. The good news is I think I figured out what the issue was. Most of my writing this year has been speed writing. And a big part of that is just where I’ve been emotionally. I’m very very out of practice in editing and redrafting, which this story and Aftermath both definitely need. 

I’ve only been able to edit Aftermath because I’ve had a ton of help. (Thanks Noodles!) Sadly, it’s harder to find betas for rarepairs, but I have succeeded! (Thanks@coffeebanana!)

7 A line of writing you’re proud of: 

“She wanted to be there to see it. To see him.”

This line is way better in context, but I’ve made myself cry about three times with it. And I refuse to explain it because that would give its power away. Guess you’ll just have to go read Aftermath. 

8 A comment that touched you: 

I can never answer this question without mentioning several!! 

Would Trust You With Everything - this story had a ton of enthusiastic followers - way more than rarepair work usually gets, and I wrote this story right after my life fell apart and all the commenters here made throwing this story together just that much more joyful during a time when I REALLY needed it. (I'm looking at you, @bittersweetresilience, @bbutterflies @flightfoot @coffeebanana and so many others that I don't know your tumblr name!!!) Not Part of the Plan Comments - I added sex ed lessons to the end of each chapter here because there’s so much about fertility and pregnancy that people don’t know if typical pregnancy fics are anything to go by, and this seemed to inspire so many people to share their pregnancy stories!!! And these have been so cool because I’ve learned that these stories just don’t often have an opportunity to be shared. And it’s neat that this story with its accompanying lessons could create a space for that!! Aftermath comments - lots of people who have really struggled with moderate to severe depression have apparently felt very seen by this fic. And that a story that is essentially about two characters who feel very alone and like no one can understand can help people feel LESS alone and MORE understood is simply amazing!! I love this story so much!! AHH!! Here's one from @neurovascular-entrapta that meant a lot to me.

9 Something that inspired your writing:

Grief and the need to feel things in a distant abstract-these-are-story-book-characters kind of way so I don’t have to feel my actual feelings as closely every moment of the day really kept me writing the whole year long.

10 Your proudest accomplishment (that one scene; finally finishing that one fic; posting your first fic; etc):

My writing has been really raw and messy this year, and I can’t keep tenses straight to save my life. But there’s something powerful about the rawness that I really like even as all the grammatical errors and the lack of effort on the technical side of most of my stories has driven me nuts. 

I am proud of myself for being able to get back into the big projects in these last few months after not being able to face them from April to October. And I’ve started participating in a few writing events here and there again in addition to working on my own pet projects. 

11 Do you have any writing goals for the next year?

Well, I wanted to finish Not Part of the Plan in 2023, which didn’t happen only barely! So hoping the last chapter and the epilogue make it out within the next month. Once that’s done I think I want to try and make Aftermath and Right Behind You my primary focus projects this year. And of course, I’m sure new plot bunnies and writing events will take over my brain on occasion. Last year, I said I wanted my writing to become a reliable mental health tool for me again, and I’m glad to say that it definitely was that for 2023. I hope I’m able to use my writing this year to continue my healing journey. 

And maybe go and proofread all of the fics I finished in 2023 to fix all the inconsistent tense issues to prepare them for being bound eventually!

These four have me gripped by my heart, and I cannot help but imagine them in the funniest OT4 ever.

Three Saiyans and a Cerealian.

Brainrot ramblings beneath.

I have Fantasy AUs of them now; sometimes they’re all adventurers, sometimes they’re all knights, sometimes they’re all royalty from different kingdoms, or even the same kingdom. My primary take has Gine as a paladin, Fasha as a barbarian, Muezli as a rogue, and Nion as an alchemist, where they’re all reluctantly brought together and end up bonding over how similar they really are while also finding respect in each other’s differences.

I have modern day AUs where they’re just vibing and not being dead.

I have them as one of the central ships for my Transformers and Dragon Ball crossover on a Discord server I’m part of that’s been going since last April.

They get to be strong enough to do things like break canon MUI Goku from the Tournament of Power over their knees.

Goku has two whole brothers now; three, depending on how solid I am on headcanon Turles to be Nion’s kid somehow.

I’m already thinking of a new modern day AU where they’re all single moms who’d each been with Bardock before and meet up at his funeral; shenanigans happen from there, and there’d also be a B-Plot about their kids all having to learn to get along with each other.

They’d sit on a couch in a massive pile of blankets, sipping on hot chocolate as they watch one of those sappy Christmas movies that Gine picked up; Fasha, Muezli, and Nion probably wouldn’t be wholly into it, but seeing Gine’s smile throughout the whole thing is worth it.

The Transformers x Dragon Ball AU forces them through the worst self-hatred and imposter syndrome conceivable, but it’s all made worth it when they realize that they genuinely love each other in a way that can never be understated.

They try to have a small wedding with just their friends and family, but Bulma, being Bulma, gets way too invested and sends it over the top accordingly.

I have an AU where they’re just office workers and also single moms who find solace in each other as the days go by.

I have another AU where one of them’s just a mortal, the other’s their best friend with a major crush, and the last two are an angel and devil fighting over the former over something petty; it then slowly escalates into all of them genuinely being really into each other through loads of romcom and sitcom type shenanigans.

I have an AU where they’re in RWBY as a major hunter team.

I have an AU where they’re Cybertronians; sometimes they’re all Autobots, sometimes they’re all Decepticons, and sometimes it’s a mix of both, depending on my mood.

I’ve had thoughts about them in Mortal Kombat, where they either become new characters entirely or take the place of Scorpion, Harumi, Smoke, and Kuai Liang.

A Thomas the Tank Engine AU sees them being Gordon’s crew in the modern day, where they and the Number Four have to put up with each other after the latter gets off on the wrong foot with them; their growth comes during a tour across the mainland, where Gordon’s old crew are helping them to finish up the last of their training; this is also a proposal that I have in mind for a co-op project I’m working on in yet another Discord server.

All four of them died without much to them; Fasha and Muezli both did so for the sake of Bardock’s development. Gine and Nion just got wiped out on Planet Vegeta by Frieza.

They’re kinda nothing burgers, and yet I just can’t help but latch onto them like they’re life preservers in the middle of a cold, storm-ridden ocean.

I have many questions that only a select few seem to really care about, but not necessarily as deeply as I seem to; what exactly did Gine and Fasha think of each other? What would Muezli and Gine have thought of each other if they ever met? What would Nion think of any of them, and they think of Nion? What would they think of the others in general? Would it be respect, reluctant or not? Would it be contempt? Hatred? Who knows?

They are my Roman Empire.

They fundamentally mean way too much to me, given that they all died as either background characters, plot devices, or some mix of both.

I have a Star Wars AU with them where Gine is a Jedi, Fasha’s a Storm trooper, Muezli’s a bounty hunter, and Nion’s a scientist for the empire before Order 66 where they also get brought together through sheer circumstance and learn to bond with each other; they run away post Order 66 and then end up settling on some random little planet that’s out of the way.

They keep each other grounded.

They feel comfortable enough around each other to regularly poke fun and make jabs at each other, but so help you if you do the same to any of them while the others are in earshot.

Somewhere in the back of my head lies a Dragon Ball Z: Abridged version of my Transformers x Dragon Ball AU where one of their running jokes is that they’re all absolutely unhinged for each other without the other knowing; when they finally do get to know about what the other is like, those tendencies somehow get even worse.

I’m going mad, and it’s great.

oh i want to be controversial for a minute

do you know what i hate even more than the whole OT4/polyship roadtrip thing

i hate when people are so desperate to ignore the slightest hint of a gay subtext between any of the bros, they exclusively pair them with the female characters JUST to create het ships

they do it with Prompto & Cidney and Ignis & Aranea (alongside Noctis & Lunafreya...which may be canon but you all know how i feel about it) and it drives me insane

like i absolutely love the idea of Highspecs, but there is no real canonical evidence that it exists

and Prompto literally has a crush on Cidney, that's it (he also has a crush on Aranea!)

but SE shoves them together in promotional art like it's canon (and then have no clue what to do with Gladio, so they just put him next to his sister?? because at least she's a girl, right?!)

of course in reality the chemistry between Noctis & Prompto and Ignis & Gladio is off the charts, but gods forbid

gods forbid we break the societal expectation of making sure everyone is "taken" by someone of the opposite gender by the end of the story 🙄

2023 Year Results

I have lost my ranking of favorite Thai BL/QLs that I made during half of the year, so I'm just going to write it anew^^

Honorable mentions: Only Friends, SOTUS, Laws of Attraction, Kieta Hatsukoi, My Ride...

I keep changing the places and Moonlight Chicken held such a strong place in my heart but now I'm also taking into account whether I liked all pairings and characters, so BMF finally took over. But I still can't decide whether The Eclipse is higher than Not Me, I might rewatch it endlessly but Not Me was a cultural reset :D As well as Semantic Error who's done so good and finally broke through the typical Korean BL setting and public's favor.

Bad Buddy has done amazingly as well but there are only 5 places in Top 5 ranking 🥲 I guess, the Our Skyy just dimmed my good memories about it a little bit x)

I love how this year we got shows that have expanded beyond the borders of usual BLs, they added mystery and mystic, action, time travelling, sitcom etc, mixed gentes, kept speaking out about many important things - from marriage legalisation to equal rights - that definitely had its own impact on real life, actors went on many fanmeetings overseas, from West to East, and overall... This was a good year, story and fandom wise.

My Fanfic Statistics

I stopped writing metas and somewhat distanced myself from the fandom when I felt that my views often didn't align with majority (and also got shadowbanned by tumblr?), but I wrote ~ 80k words on AO3 and drew >10-15 arts that I really enjoyed. I still have many wips so look forward to them!

I wrote way too many Only Friends fics whole I watched the show xD This was definitely a show that gave out ideas (and sometimes outrage) and lots of angst.

But Not Me fics are still my number one (though mostly because of all the crossovers with other series I keep writing about)

Also somehow Bad Buddy OT4 fic is now the longest fanfic I've ever written (both in Neglish and my native language). And it's still not finished but tbh even I don't know exactly how it will end, that's how self-indulgent this is but I'm so happy rhat many people were excited about this idea with me!

My Fandom

I also had a blast having various discussions in my own small community and people who wanted to share opinions and watch series together. You guys keep inspiring and supporting me in exploring many ideas, drawing art and writing many fics, I truly admire and adore you all, especially my fam @springkitten @xagan and also @thepancakelady @wereflamingo (I'm surprised how often we agreed with each other on somethjng but that's what makes discussions interesting xD).

Also I want to hug bad buddy server was a joyful discover this year too that inspired me to start learning Thai, our not me server that keeps being my safe comfort space and many hugs to some tumblr folks who I talk in replies and reblogs (I am truly bad at remembering usernames but if I ever chatted with you here, I am definitely thinking about you and your profile picture <3)

Here's to 2024 and more projects

I also started my FirstKhao AU visual novel, and though I thought I would be able to make it in a month or two and then got struck by Health Doing Bad for a long time, I'm definitely determined to finish it next year.

And we keep talking about making Poetry Zines with @springkitten inspired by lakorns/bls we watched and I'd like to try and make it happen 👀

I also want to return to commissions in a better way, because of political situation I haven't been able to continue drawing for my foreign friends but thanks to my other friends who are generous to help me with handling finances for me, I might be able to start drawing requests again! What if Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui started dating post-canon after some nervous pining, keeping their relationship a secret from the other half of the quartet.

Then, after some time, jl ends up asking lsz if he really loves him, because of the way he looks at ljy he has this something in his eyes. After some nervous turning around the subject, lsz finally admits he does /also/ love ljy, the same way he does jl. but lsz doesn't dare tell him, because he's sure ljy doesn't feel the same.

jl ends up telling him he doesn't mind sharing if it make him happier. Especially since it is clear ljy is also pining for lsz, but had noticed their little "secret" relationship and didn't dare step in. Turns out lsz is happily surprised and gets himself a second boyfriend, jl and ljy slowly develop their own brand of love.

So they now start this new poly couple, rather happy with how thing seems to work. But now that they are often only the three of them most of the time, they feel like they are missing someone all the time.

Then they realise that maybe, they didn't see oyzz as just a friend. They also feel a bit guilty for having left him so much to the side as they were trying to make this whole new thing work. lsz is the one to come up to oyzz to talk about it to him, as the two others didn't know how to bring it up to him. 

oyzz doesn't really know what to answer to this, as he never really thought about it in the past. He /does/ have a little something for lsz tho "now that he's thinking about it", but doesn't know if he should join them. He does, and things turn out even better than before. 

They are back to being the juniors quartet, but this time as lovers, even though most obviously don't know. Some days a more difficult, sometimes communication is hard, but they would rather not give it up for anything in the world, they absolutely like it the way it is. 

I also wonder how the parents would all react.

I'd see jc going "Really jl, /another/ boyfriend? I suppose at least this time he's not a plan, shouldn't be too troublesome". Yet he doesn't try to break them off anyway, as he would rather see his nephew happy than sad because he tried to break them off.

wn is over the moon that lsz is surrounded by so many people who love him that much. Although even this sweet cinnamon bun has warned one time that they shouldn't dare to break his heart. All three hurriedly agreed. 

lwj would be the silently supportive dad, ready to listen and give advice despite easy relationships not being his department. All he can wish for is for none of them to suddenly disappear on him for 13 years.

wwx isn't sure at first how come baby a-yuan is collecting this many boyfriends, but is just as supportive, ready to help them out. He's the dad ready to bring up the most embarrassing thing simply because he's trying his best to help his son out. If he can make sure lsz is not as lost as he was, then it would be this already won. 

I cannot tell what oyzz dad would say, but if he were to not be supportive of his son, oyzz is made quickly aware that he already has a new family ready to support him whatever happens with him (my hurt/comfort ass don't like oyzz dad, so it would probably not be a good react) but oyzz is better off with all these other cultivators ready to support him than him anyway.

They lived happily ever after and we forget that jl is the jll sect leader (am not thinking angst tonight okay, shoo shoo).

I'm just thinking about how it's over seven years since we got a photo of H & L together and wondering why. The others from ot4 have all been spotted in some combination, so people accept that they're friends.

H & L could easily have been papped together out in a big group in London or at the same LA party even twice a year and this whole awful Harry Hates Louis thing that solos on both sides push would never have developed.

Please don't say 'they can't trust each other when they're together and would give themselves away' because they were fine pretending to be distant in group settings in 2013/2015. These men are in their 30s now. They know the game, and they can play it, and fans would all have been so much happier and less hateful to us Larries. 🪼

Don't worry, i'm not going to tell you that they can't behave around each other. I will tell you that they're closeted, that they have completely, if not opposing, images, they're not in a band anymore and they are on unsynchronised album/touring schedules meaning that when one is home the other one's away.

They also have a big, influential, and vocal larrie fanbase that would absolutely go off their hinges if they were pictured together. Being pictured together would also need to be balanced with something else to stay on status quo. That would mean more bearding, more stunting involving more pda, more yelling at larries on twitter calling us conspiracy theorists etc.

Also, what would their motivation be to be pictured together in public?

Do they need to convince themselves they're together? No.

Do they need to convince larries they're together? No, we already know.

Do they want to convince others they're together? No, quite the opposite.

Do they need the promo and attention on themselves? No, they've got stunts and beards for that.

Does H and L care about harries vs. louies in-fandom wars? No, not enough to make the neccessary sacrifices.

Do they care about larries? Yes, so they try to give us what they can while trying to balace the consequences.

So for them it's not neccessary to be papped together. It would bring more negative consequences for them than good consequences. The only ones wanting a pic are larries because we would be validated. We can be validated in other ways, ways that will not bring negative consequences to H and L. The umbro shirt and "i love it i hate it" are good examples.

Unless it will benefit L and H both in some way, i wouldn't hold your breath.

Tim feels like a goddamn raccoon trying to hiss and fend off the asshole humans who are dumb enough to ask for their trash back. Why is Jason seriously trying to fight for Jayn's affection when she's obviously got her own agenda?, he's wondering. Tim was pretty fucking sure that she hadn't bothered trying to contact her lost love since she first left. Jason should've given up on her and buried his face in the cunt of Ultraman's niece Kara, like he seemed so eager to do the few times that they happened to be in the same room together. She might've (accidentally) killed him, depending on how she liked it, but at least he wouldn't be pining and looking pathetic now. And of course, Tim's glaring daggers at Jayn every second he isn't focused on trying to murder Dick. Why did she conveniently arrive the night he privately announced his engagement to Rye? Maybe Jayn's whole presence is just a test from their father...but he can't attack her yet. As much as he hates to admit it, Jayn is part of Rye's chance to survive her time alone with Dick.

So when Jayn gives Rye a chaste kiss, Tim is initially livid. If Rye hadn't come back to him a second after Jayn kissed her head, he would have found a reason to put the brunette in a chokehold. But Rye manages to calm him with her yes. He wraps his arm (possessively) around her waist, whispering how she's gonna be perfect, and he'll never see it coming. When Jayn begins to deliver the specifics of her plan, he clenches his jaw (something his dentist had warned him against doing any more than he already had). "It's up to you," he tells Rye, and he means it. Because once Dick (and Bruce, since he won't stand for his oldest's assassination) was dead, Rye would be Tim's forever. He'd seen how she looked at him when the Court of Owls introduced them, compared to how she looked at him now. He had already won her over. She'd get her engagement ring after she slept with Dick, since it would be a distraction (or knowing the Talon, a weapon). The wedding was just a formality--one of many luxuries that Rye would be able to enjoy as his new wife.

I genuinely just see ff7 (remake rebirth etc but also the original to be honest with you) mainly about friendships. If i ship anyrhing, im shipping the massive polycule networks cloud is in the center of. Im shipping tifa and aerith as super close and kind to each other and so grateful they never fight over something dumb. Im shipping zack/aerith aerith/tifa aerith/cloud cloud/tifa cloud/zack and cloud/sephiroth in the sense i see those as the strongest Potentially romantic relationships going on. (Aka the big main polycule). Im also not really shipping anything, cause like... zack loses aerith due to shinra bullshit and is technically closer to cloud due to the whole mutual experimented on and fleeing stuff, cloud breaking from the trauma of losing zack. How aerith likes cloud partly as a rebound replacement to project About zack and only gradually truly likes him, tifas probably got the most complicated yet simplest relationship w cloud. Hes her old loner friend, his old childhood crush, the guy traumatized like her from sephiroth and nibelheim, the stranger who she met as an adult whos acting so different and not reliable but she'd like to Be reliable and be an echo of one good Enduring thing that survived the trauma they went thru, they grow a close friendship based on cloud growing to care and gradual shared values. A friendship close to what tifa has with barret, and what cloud eventually has with barret. Aerith dies so, any romance that started (since cloud and tifa cared about her) is impossible with her gone. Zack is dead so any romance with aerith or cloud is unable to be fulfilled. Tifa and cloud are just... the last of the polycule left. By the time any fully realized romance blossoms from friendship and finally the world calmed down a little, of course theyre the only two left to have and hold. They adopt (and is barret in the polycule, ur guess is as valid as mine). If aerith had been alive i think she'd either been in the polycule, or left them to be kind to tifa. Or tifa wouldve left cloud to be with aerith. (My ideal is just all 3 happier together tbh). Then of course, if zack was alive? The more the merrier, my ot4 where everyone kept dying. And sephiroth well, hes not wanted in the polycule but possessing cloud permanently does make him a part of it (just involving cloud thanfkully not like tifa or anyone else dragged into the mess... much). But sephiroth is there.

And i could go on about how to potential shippers ff7 is a treasure trove where u can link cloud to vincent, vincent to yuffie and reeve. Link aerith to tseng to rufus, link rude to tifa and rudes linked to reno and elena, the potential shipping web gets Huge. Can link rufus to cloud, vincent to cloud and vincent had the whole girlfriend with hojo thing, and now oh no even hojos in the web. But thats how it goes. A treasure trove for open minded shippers and lovely doujin creators.

But also just. I think shipping fights are so energy sapping. I think ff7 stories, all the games of them, are more about friendships and caring anyway. It doesnt matter if cloud kisses aerith or tifa or both or neither, he cares about both of them, and they care about him, and tifa and aerith care about each other. Aerith and tifa wouldnt fight over it! Why would i care when they dont even care. Theres a lot of really lovely relationships eaxh complicated and nuanced in their own way and id like to explore and reflect on them all, in their canon and of course fans exploring the what ifs.

As our girls embark on their first world tour, we as fans come to the end of the Time Of Day Album series. It hard to believe we've been in this series of four year but I can. I literally started high school when TOD:Dawn came out. And now I'm heading to college. I wanted to take the time to make a discussion thread and ask the simple yet complex question; What are your Top Ten songs of the entire Time Of Day series? 

Some parameters before I start us off. You can be as detailed as you want! No pressure to explain your choice unless you want to. Second, Just because your opinion doesn’t match someone else's opinion DOES NOT mean they are wrong, i.e. no fighting in the comments. Lastly, This list should only include songs from the following albums: Time Of Day: Dawn, Time Of Day: 6:01, Time Of Day: Noon, Time Of Day: Dusk, Time Of Day and Time Of Day: Tomorrow. No AG songs from other albums should be included on this list okay.

Now! I’ll start off the proceedings with my list :)

Special Mention: GO! - I have mixed feelings about GO! as a whole. For the negatives, The rap verse is lackluster and it didn’t show Moxy or Aurora’s unique talents. The bridge is a mess of different genres that don’t mesh together. Lastly, the final ten-twenty seconds of the song could easily be cut. As for the positives, THAT DANCE!!! Jesus, it's intense! I can’t believe SM gave that choreo to trainees (I say trainees cause the girls were given this song before their debut announcement). I mean there's a reason AGzens have called GO the mother of Do It Like This. The verses are fun to sing along to. I find myself frequently trying to replicate Hannah’s tone at the beginning of the song. And the chorus is just plain catchy. I both can’t stand and understand why SM chose to scrap GO and chose SLAP as their debut song. All this adds up to be an honorable mention but it didn’t quite make the list

10. Something Like A Party - Which is why SLAP is my number ten pick. I get why a lot of AGzens dislike the song. Those are the exact reasons why I love this song. Think about it. AG, for most of their careers up to that point, were doing everything boy groups do(and doing it well). SLAP gave them a chance to dive into the realm of what Girl Groups do but it also added their experience as female idols in predominantly male groups. Any OG czennies remembers what the gp were saying about AG back then. SLAP proved them wrong. 

9. Do It Like This - There is nothing I love more than a catchy song. Add an unforgettable video with killer choreography and you’ve got Do It Like This. While I do agree with some of AGzen’s opinions. I have to put all of that away when I remember how much I was singing this song. My friends started glaring at me everytime Moxy's opening verse came out of my mouth. That being said I put it this low because the faults of the song can’t be ignored. DILT, you will always be remembered

8. Give It Up/Emergency - Am I breaking my own rule by having two songs on the same number? Yes, yes I am. I had to put these two together because they both mean something to AG’s growth process. First of all we have Give It Up. The song that created AG as a concept. SM added all the talented girls to each NCT group and had ZERO plans to debut them as a group of their own. They planned to drop Give It Up and never do anything with it. But us Liberties wouldn’t let them. Even after Boss dropped down the charts. Liberties kept Give It Up on the Gaon and Billboard charts for seven weeks straight. On top of all that, anytime anti’s try to devalue AG’s singing abilities. Just drop the video of OT4 singing Give It Up on Queendom. They’ll learn to keep AG’s name out their mouths. Now on the subject of Emergency I added this because it’s another defining moment in AG’s history. After releasing WTTJ for NCT 2020 promotions, Alot of AGzen’s felt SM backstepped AG with the release of Do It Like This. Then NCT 2021 dropped and AGzen’s got what they'd been asking for, a more mature sound to match their tenure in the kpop industry. Emergency was exactly what we were all looking for. Emergency broke Give It Up’s record on the Gaon charts and still remains AG’s longest charting song. So yeah that's why I put both of these song together

7. Welcome To The Jungle - Of course after talking about Emergency I had to put WTTJ on the list. As an avid AGzen, I had no idea where SM was going with the teasers for this song. We were all skeptical. Until the song dropped. My God, AGzen’s were in shambles that day. All four members rapping and all the girls lower registers. I almost fainted watching the video. Besides that, the beat is disgusting. I went to a kpop club event and I swear as soon as WTTJ started everyone was flocking to the floor. WTTJ was everything we didn’t know we wanted. I hope SM continues to expand AG’s discography with more songs like WTTJ and Emergency

6. Circle Game - Most of the time, When AG’s talents are brought up, everyone always brings up two things. Their insane stage presence and how good they are at making any difficult choreography look effortless. No one really brings up their vocal talents. The vocal ability of this group has always existed in the background of the netizens minds but AGzen’s have never forgotten. You don’t get into SM as a vocal slouch. The girls practiced their vocals by singing 90’s girl groups. Groups like SWV and En Vouge. Circle Game reminded all of us of the groups vocal talents. There are no fancy runs or high notes to be found in this track. Just pure vocal brilliance mixed with AG letting the emotions of the song bleed into their voices. No more words just go listen to this track. 

5. Shut Up and Dance - I had a hard time choosing fifth place. I am a passionate Circle Game defender and I could have easily put that as my number five but I choose Shut Up and Dance because pure fun won out over desperate emotions. Some of my friends aren’t into kpop like I am but they know a few songs. When this dropped, I played it in the car and they FELL IN LOVE!! Now anytime it comes on you can guarantee we're all screaming “Shut up and dance” at the top of our lungs. Some of AG’s best songs are the ones that are just pure fun personified. Shut Up and Dance is one of them.

4. Let Me Get Me - I was so proud when SM dropped the members solo song info for the TOD album. To me, it felt like every member's song fit them perfectly. So I knew at least on of them had to be on the list. To be honest, it was almost another tie between Juno’s History and Hannah’s LMGM but my bias won out. Hannah’s parts are some of my favorites on WayV’s tracks. Her voice just fits the vibe of their sound perfectly and she brought that energy to LMGM. That mysterious yet sexy, WayV vibe is ALL OVER this track. Every time it comes on, I can't help but dance and shake my non-existent booty. 

3. Hit Me Up - whenever you see stan twitter discussing which of AG’s bside’s come out on top, there’s always two that win out. And both are in my top three. Netizens were (rightfully) skeptical when SM announced AG would release a repackaged mini album. Literally unheard of in the history of kpop (as far as I know). While Breakthrough was a fun title track after the release of SLAP, the real star of The Dawn: 6:01 was Hit Me Up. There’s a reason whenever the girls performed at any festival or concert HMU is on the list. This was Emergency and WTTJ before either were recorded. This was the more mature sound we were craving before we knew it. HMU is one of my favorite AG b-side but another one beat it out

2. Breakout - Before my number one choice, let's talk about Breakout. I couldn't make this list without Breakout being in at least the top five. There's a strong argument to be made for Breakout to be number one and I would agree if this list wasn’t based on my opinion. Which is why its number two. This song is literally AG history. Breakout broke so many records. It still holds the most wins in AG’s career. To this day, I believe if SM had debuted AG with this song, they’d have MAMA’s best new artist in the bag. Breakout remains as AG’s hardest choreography to date. The amount of precision meeting power for stepping to work already takes Breakout to another level. Like I could talk about Breakout all day but we have one more pick to get to

1.  Fuego - Like I said earlier, AGzen constantly picks two b-sides when asked which is the best. Hit Me Up is one and the other, Fuego, is my number one favorite song from the TOD series. This song is pure AG vocal perfection. The harmonies, top tier. The dance, fire while also bringing attention to regional dances from across the u.s. The track video had me levitating. AG has never been afraid to release a song without a rap part and this one is a perfect example. Fuego didn’t need a rap part, just the girls' delicious vocal talents. Which now that I think about it, Fuego is a challenging song that AG nails every time. Doing all that dancing while singing live. Only they could. 

In conclusion, we’ll have a different opinion on what are the best songs from the Time Of Day series. All I can say as faithful AGzen is I can’t wait for more music from these four talented ladies. Maybe I’ll bring this back once another series of albums finishes. Let me know your picks below. I can’t wait to read them.

u/PearlSapphireBlueSky - Love the picks in this list. I’m a casual AG listener (I would consider myself a PinkBlood) and AG’s discography really reminds me of F(x). I guess that's why people consider them the functions little sisters. Anyway i gotta say my favorite AG song is Fly. AG really needs to be considered one of the best groups in 4th gen on vocals alone. Fly is the song I play every time I need a pick-me-up. I’m a small business owner and when things get hard Fly is always there to pick me up and remind me of my power. 

u/BlackWidowsWife - I’m probably one of few DILT enjoyers out there. I love to dance and when this song came out I challenged myself to nail the choreo. Long story short, any time someone is crazy enough to play DILT on a random play dance I always get a huge reaction for being the only one out there killing it.

Yeah. I remember in 2015 even before Zayn left the band...harry was always so distant. Even when ot4 took selfies together, harry was always in the back, never smiling. And I remember so well how larries and harries manipulated their followers with “he’s not going solo” mantra every single day. That prick lied to his bandmates with “it’s only a break. We’re overworked. I want to take a break” then on December 30/31st 2015 he was laughing like a clown on that yacht with that baboon jeff signing his first solo contract. How fucking pathetic and embarrassing were those staged pap pics? They really called the paps to take pics of that moment. One of the cringest moments of his career. Seriously

that date was the date of the end of the 1D contract. he didn't need to sign with the azoffs then, but he did, and did so publicly and deliberately because he was fucking relieved to be done with them all. remember him talking about crying his little panties about how he couldn't sing about sex and how he signed the contract because he finally could? a full grown babby man who wanted to enlighten us about his choking out women while doing cocaine that it literally made him sob his eye balls out.

yes, the larries were basically just helping the azoffs and harry scheme at that point. they spent the whole time lecturing the fans that harry wasn't going solo, there was no acting career, so that the fans basically let everything slide and didn't get mad about anything we could clearly see was happening. this let harry off the hook over the hiatus and everything else. they made it so much easier for harry to do what he did. no wonder he still panders to them.

i love that one behind the scenes video where louis and harry are sniping at each other, like they couldn't even take ONE video where they were looking like they were getting on, even in the one video which was silent, those two were done with each other. it was always OT3 in the background together, harry alone. even onstage they would ice each other out and harry was always off on his own, because he couldn't stand being near the others and vice versa. i think niall only went on harry's private jet because he didn't smoke, but not because they got on.

i keep saying it, but people really think niall is a low key mediator and friend to harry still, and i honestly don't see it. to me niall has been very curt about him, but if you look at all the videos of their interactions back then, niall was also fucking done with harry. he did not seem charmed or won over by him. it reminded me of the dunkirk guys looking like they just wanted harry to shut the fuck up in interviews. then at that concert they were seen at together a while back, they literally looked like they wanted to ignore each other the whole time, just standing there not even looking close or friendly or jokey. just awkward as fuck. and that's niall! who seems like he's the most chill (though honestly i do not think he's as chill as the fans believe) member of the band.

How did Lucky, Merrill, Isabella and Fenris get together?

I never thought anyone would ever ask this and I'm sorry it took so long to respond but I'll try to keep it short.

Basically Lucky and Merrill were the first to meet. Merrill fell in love right away and Lucky had a crush too but as soon as he saw that Carver also had a crush he decided to back off and just be friends as a good big brother is supposed to do.

Then like the very next day Lucky meets Isabela. Lucky picks a fight over the other Lucky about who gets to keep the name. And then he blacks out cause he's really drunk at that point and he wakes up handcuffed to Isabela's bed. He is very sad he cannot remember the first night with Isabela but he gets many more. But it's very clear that Isabela is not interested in relationships and every time Lucky does something couply she shuts him down. Hard. So Lucky tries to get the picture.

Enter Fenris. Punches a man's heart out and crushes it. Lucky was already in love but then he spoke and then Lucky knew he was going to marry this man. The thing is Lucky falls in love a lot. His heart's a slut as he says. He had a crush on basically the whole crew at this point, but he told himself he would try to do things right and pursue Fenris only. Though he kept fucking Isabela until Fenris and him got serious. And he kept almost kissing Merrill every time she helped him succeed in a magical experiment.

Then Lucky and Fenris after three years of bickering and awkward moments and drunken kisses and finally sober kisses, they finally decide to be serious and try for real. But Fenris isn't ready and Lucky is moving too fast. And they have sex and break up and Lucky is crushed.

Lucky internalizes it instead of realizing that Fenris wasn't ready to be in a relationship.

In a fit of ill-timed decisions he ends up listening to Isabela's advice and go after Merrill finally but he's not really over Fenris and ends up hurting Merrill because he can't bring himself to say "I love you" back.

This gets Isabela cut out of his life as he promised her he wouldn't make Merrill cry. He goes into a destructive spiral where he tries to shut everyone out cause he's tired of annoying everyone and causing them problems. The only thing that breaks him out of this is saving his Mom's life just barely.

Still Lucky is a mess. Lucky doesn't know what to do with his heart. But at this point he realizes he does love Merrill still and wants to try to make things right with her cause he knows Fenris and him are over.

So he does this big romantic gesture in the middle of the Hanged Man only to find out the Merrill and Isabela are now together lol.

So he ends up leaving with his tail between his legs but Merrill chases after him with Isabela in hand. Merrill says she still loves Lucky but she loves Isabela too, and she is the one who is like "why do I have to choose? I know you both liked each other at one point. Can't we just all be happy together?"

Act 2 events happen. Some other things happen but this is getting long but basically. Isabela runs away for three years. It's just Merrill and Lucky for awhile. But then Isabela comes back and Isabela and Fenris get together. And Lucky is super jealous and trying not to be because he's with Merrill. But Merrill can tell and she's the one that has the big brains like ya'll. C'mon let's just fuck it out already.

But, OT4 split. the story that lives in my brain and I keep slowly writing it bc I have so many ideas that trying to fit them into one coherent story is hard. for those not in the know, its my OT4 story where the four of them are together, but end up split across the galaxy, rodney/ronon and john/teyla and they're workingtheir way back home, and the two pairs have issues that end up getting fixed, but then they get back and they have to learn about each other again because they changed. I'm planning on having all four pov's, and its slow going because ronon and teyla are newer pov's I'm still working on, and I want to make sure they're distinct and different.

and like, i put ronon and rodney on a dark planet with almost no light at night bc ronon has been alone for so long, and rodney and darkness have kind of a history (hide and seek, grade under pressure, etc etc) and so they have to learn to rely on each other in the dark, but then I put teyla and john on a planet that's almost as bright as the day at night, bc john's so used to hiding in the shadows that he can't hide here, from teyla. and teyla is someone who uses diplomacy to protect herself (IMO) and so like john, she can't hide.

“At least we won’t need a night light,” John said, dropping his head and trying to smile reassuringly at Teyla.

Teyla nodded, her arms folded across her chest, her whole body tense with worry. “Perhaps one good thing.”

“It’s a start,” John said, looking around the small valley they were in, the jagged peaks of the mountains on either side of him, the sharp edges spearing into the sky and casting shadows across the ground. Shadows born of starlight. Rodney would love it. “And it’ll help when we scale Mordor.”

“Do you know of this world?” Teyla asked suddenly, looking up at John with hope in her eyes.

“Oh…uh, no. It’s a movie,” John said with a grimace. “Or a book, I suppose. That became a movie. They uh…this looks like Mordor,” he said, waving a hand up at the mountains.

Teyla sighed, dropping her head forward. John tried to ignore how the heavy stone that settled in his gut. The way it made him feel, knowing that somehow, he had done something wrong and he didn’t know what. He wished Rodney was here, or Ronon. They always managed to get to the bottom of whatever was wrong. Ronon with his pointed questions, and Rodney with his inability to let things go.

Sometimes, and he’d never admit it, but Teyla reminded him on Nancy with her looks, her long silences as she waited for John to just get it, but he never did. He hadn’t then, and he didn’t now and he could feel the same chasms opening up between him and Teyla that had been between him and Nancy and he didn’t want it.
