this was a joy to work on! the direct link between cater's human colour scheme and his hilichurl one made everything fit together so nicely, and i had fun trying to catch all the little details (like the two feathers hanging out from underneath his cardigan that represent the feathery neckpiece on the churl form). not only did this piece succeed in freeing me from the brainrot it also gave me more confidence in my capability to do nice full pieces digitally. so its a win win!

Thinking about Shao Yuanyuan and her wildcard potential and it hit me today... just how much does she know? Does she live in a time loop similar to Lu Guang or does she hop in and out of the past like Cheng Xiaoshi? Does she know that Cheng Xiaoshi also has a death node?

It suddenly occurred to me to that the Shao Yuanyuan we likely saw during the fire in Ep 4, was either a time leaping SYY from the future or at least one who had information from her future self to know to be in Bridon at this point in time and also a Shao Yuanyuan who might have just realized Cheng Xiaoshi had awakened his own powers.

Given her meeting with Cheng Xiaoshi in Ep 6 where she acts like Cheng Xiaoshi should be aware of how this all works, I suspect that it's because the version of Shao Yuanyuan from Ep 4 arranged this meeting because she encountered Cheng Xiaoshi during the fire and thus knew he would show up in Bridon and go searching for them through Wang Qing. She needed to set up that meeting so she could tell Cheng Xiaoshi face to face not to pursue her anymore (and make things more complicated).

I also think that was her second attempt at doing so - the first being to go back years earlier to tell the Qiao family not to let him go to Bridon. But the future refused to change so she found another opportunity to try again.

And based on Lu Guang's comments it sounds like she would have also failed again in the original timeline. It's not clear how her conversation with CXS went last time (if there was one) but at the very least she might not have had time to make CXS promise not to chase after her anymore, and that would have likely sealed his fate. If anything, a sudden interrupted meeting like that might have even encouraged him further.

And this is all coming from a Shao Yuanyuan from an unknown point in the future...

Anyway this is a lot of words to say where in time is Shao Yuanyuan?

And what the heck does the timeline look like from her perspective?

Shrignold wholeheartedly acceptd taking care of luna. he did everything in his power not to end up as a shitty father figure like malcum. Hes surprisingly good with kids too so raising luna was pretty easy. He's highky overprotective for a number of reasons but thats for me to yap about another day.

Larry was more chill with luna. He let her get away with underage drinking, driving, drinking AND driving, tax fraud, eating candy past 10pm all that stuff. But she felt comfortable going to him to talk about anything really.

since she's created in a lab, she grows up faster than others. She only stops rapid growth after she hits the adult stage of her life cycle

Hello there, sliding an ittitbitty idea thats been in my head since I finished Apex Polarity (fantastic read).

AP, everything starts and ends the same, just that when Orclips transforms Photographer they turn into a sea butterfly (Clione limacina). If Eclipse was possesive with them as a normal size human, he'll probably go ultra feral and protective with his little pearl-size wanna make mate.

That is such an adorable thought! Eclipse is still so possessive and the photographer is just having the worst day of your life (so far) but you're just so cute and tiny! Look at one!

Eclipse would always have you in his palm. Everywhere he goes, he's cradling you close and gently protecting you from waves and ice flow, which would be sweet if it weren't for how you became this. He especially adores your beautiful colors and how diaphanous you look. It's difficult for you to wrap your head around how you became so small and, well, admittedly, pretty. Eclipse loves your wings matching your birdie nickname but he also begins calling you sea angel.

You're not thrilled by any of these developments, of course. It's frightening how vulnerable and tiny you are. You have to cling to Eclipse's thumb to not float away. Once or twice, you slip between his fingers in some bid to escape but Eclipse scoops you up and reminds you in a low snarl why they can't leave him. The ocean is so vast and full of dangerous predators, and you have to stay with him.

How can you tell an apex predator no when he could eat you up in one bite?

hes such a silly and awkward teenage boy i love it, like buddy you CAN just talk to your crush, you dont have to try to get him to "notice you.." but hes too silly and awkward so thats like the most he would ever do and would still probably think that that counts as flirting

im just... wondering about how saikis terrible silly flirting tactics would translate if his crush was on one of his FRIENDS.. like someone he could actually be around and would see and talk to him.. would he just like be trying to impress them ?? moving toward them more ?? adopting more of their mannerisms and interests maybe ??

contanuing my bug (and slithering thang) headcanons emf hates flying and crawling bugs but like some types of beetles- and he also rlly likes ladybugs seawatt uses his snake to scare ppl off he doesnt like. or get his way. he will literally do that thing where u hold the snake in a way so it's fangs?? teeth?? do the venom squirting thing (0 knowledge on how snakes work) if evbo goes outside in summer he lathers himself in bug spray (NOT insect repellent. bug spray). he told seawatt abt this and seawatt hasn't bothered to tell him he's fucking up his insect repellents. emf doesnt know. when seawatt was w/ TEC his snake accidently bit the champ and seawatt had to do a brewing stand jump to try and cure the venom affect (he failed 2 times and nearly but TEC on his deathbed) emf has an ant colony. sometimes the ants get out and evbo freaks out and wont show up for like... 2 weeks seawatt leaves his snakes shedded skin around the champion layer just to purposefully rile emf up emf almost lost a parkour battle to a venomous spider because he kept shaking seawatt has a scar on his arm, and he claims it's from a bite- but everytime someone asks which one he changes the animal. when evbo asked seawatt said it was a spider bite, but when emf asked seawatt said it was from an ant. evbo likes butterflies but if one comes near him he will scream and run away uhh send ask do we sign things off on this blog?? like... - bug man?
