Hiii! I asked this question on the ‘Osana’ Reddit and you said you had more, SOOOO: What are all of your headcanons for the Male Rivals?? General Headcanons pretty pretty please :3
Haiii! Good to see you on here ^w^ & ofc!
(Also ignore the fact half of them don't get fun pictures or a gif I'm posting from the app lol xD)
General Male Rivals Head cannons!

Osano Najime
He is stupidly good at playground games (like rock paper scissors, go fish, etc) to the point where nobody wanted to play with him as a kid because they knew he'd win.
Favorite Pixar movie is inside out.
He actually is really good friends with Hanako. They both spend a ridiculous amount of money on blind bags together. And whenever Osano goes to the store he keeps an eye out for ones Hanako would like.
And Hanako has made him a friendship bracelet, which Osano being the tsundere he is, promptly pretended to hate it but still wears it as an anklet to this day.
Has helped organize fund raisers for local animal shelters and veterinary emergency rooms.
I feel like he has contact lenses and wore glasses in middle school. Whenever he's doing his judgemental stare his friends if he's put his contacts in that day.
He gets really into decorating and customizing his phone, like changes his whole layout, stick, phone charms, pop socket, app overlays, wallpaper, depending on what season it is.
Reads shojo manga but pretends to hate it.
^ his favorite is fruits basket

Amao Odayaka
One time he was at his great grandma's house making sourdough bread, and he accidentally slammed it on the old wooden counter so hard that he made a hole which the dough fell through to the cabinet shelf below. So not only did he break a counter he also had to scrap the whole batch. That memory haunts him and keeps him up at night.
Impulsively buys every apron he sees. He has a whole section of his closet purely dedicated to aprons.
Favorite movie is ratatouille, naturally.
He is uh, a little dense when it comes to social cues. He's nice don't get me wrong, just he isn't very good at getting sarcasm.
His favorite deserts to make are macarons and pound cake.
He has a love-hate relationship with the Gordon Ramsay show 'Hell's Kitchen' because he gets ridiculously mad at the condition the kitchens are always in. But he loves seeing the before and afters.
He runs the cooking club like a pirate ship tbh, he usually has to break up fights between the members. Except for Saki because she minds her own beeswax.

Kizano Sunobu
He has played many, many, roles in theater such as: The Wicked Stepmother From Cinderella, The Phantom of the opera, The Rat King, King George the third in Hamilton, and many more.
He can sing quite well, and took gymnastics lessons as a child so he could very much be considered a quadruple threat. (Singing, Acting, Dancing, and Acrobatics.)
Went to a preforming arts high school, but due to his family moving he had to transfer to Akademi.
His favorite animated movies are Leap! And Anastasia. Although he does have a love for old Disney aesthetics.
He has quite sensitive skin, being allergic to glycerin, so he has to be very particular about what products he buys.
Kizano plans on becoming a Broadway actor once he graduates, and because of that he is fluent in both Japanese and english, and is working on learning Spanish.
He really appreciates the club members who are stage hands, always making sure to thank them after every show.
While he is cocky, egotistical, and down right self centered at times, he does truly appreciate his club members.
He has some, interesting opinions on the other club leaders...
He likes and appreciates Amao, mainly because they both have an unyielding passion for their respective fields.
He hates and despises Asuo, because he finds him too relaxed and annoyingly positive.
He in fact does not know Oko exists.
Oko Ruto
Is very good at sewing due in part to the fact he likes to replace the button hole embroidery on his white shirts to a beige tone and the buttons to match his eyes, making it look like his buttons are eyeballs. Also because sewing comes in handy for occult/supernatural shenanigans.
Likes to visit graveyards to see if there's any intriguing tomb stones. Like funny last words, statues of the dead, intriguing ways a person died, ect.
^ he is very respectful though, only really approaching graves that are particularly old.
The occult club does more than just stalking students and summoning demons. they also practice ways to tell the future, speak to ghosts, birth chart and palm readings, and alien investigation night. (Held every other Tuesday.)
He watches BuzzFeed unsolved supernatural. Because weirdly enough true crime gives him the creeps but not ghosts and ghouls.
His favorite animated movies are, Spirited Away, Alice in wonderland, and Paranorman.
His father was a paranormal investigator, but has major Dale Gribble vibes so safe to say he runs an occult goods shop with tarot cards, oujia boards, future reading tea and eggs, and more now after being 'encouraged to retire'.
His mother is a practicing psychic who was actually brought in to help solve the murders at Akademi. She now runs an in store future reading service. Personality wise she's very much so like Jessica Rabbit, sweet charming, and a showman at heart.
Asuo Rito
This man seems like a golden retriever and he is, but sweet Lord does he not actually process his emotions. Everytime he gets upset over something he just throws himself further into training regiments.
Has like seven dogs currently and overall in his life he's had twenty.
Enjoys all sports but knows he should be focusing on just one, but he just can't pick. He enjoys track and field best, but that could just because that's what he wins the most medals for....
Took one martial arts lesson when he was ten and Budo accidentally broke his nose. Swore off martials arts ever since.
Speaking of which, childhood friends with Budo, although at first they didn't like each other because they were on opposing soccer teams.
He in fact does not know Kizano has one sided beef with him. He thinks of all the club leaders as his friends, except Kaga, he finds him creepy.
Favorite animated movie is the Incredibles.
Man is his and his teams own cheerleader, doing full on chants and cartwheels at swim meets.
^ has accidentally cartwheeled into the pool, DURING A RACE.
Mujo Kano
This man would make a better mortician than a nurse! He always gets hung up on fixing patients hair rather than filling out important paperwork.
Studying to be a pediatrician, specifically specializing in infants.
Has an unhealthy build a bear problem. He builds a bear every week and they have invaded his couch, bed, and shelves.
He is a walking disaster. Someone save him.
Osoro Shidesu
Chain smoker, no further elaboration.
He's weirdly stoic, like definitely not a party person, despite being a delinquent hooligan he reminds sorta like an old timey knight.
Rbf to the max, man came into this world with a scowl. There's not a single picture of him in his childhood where he doesn't look like a hell spawn.
Good at cooking in the same way a shady Denny's chef is good at cooking. Like cigarette in hand, cussing under his breath, while making the best funfeitti pancakes known to man.
It brings joy to his grinchy little soul to see a slug bug. Like in ironically giggles when he sees one.
Also thinks clowns are hilarious. In another life he'd be a shady circus owner.
He either has the cutest softest smile known to man, or the creepiest smirk ever.
Favorite animated movie, Up and lady and the tramp.
At his core he does believe in fairness. If a guy is harassing a waitress he won't hesitate to take him outside iykyk.
Hanako Yamada
Has gotten his arm stuck in an arcade machine after trying to just grab the plushie he wanted. The fire station was called and had to help get him out.
Wears keychains on his belt loops of his favorite characters like Keroppi, Hello Kitty and Mimi, and Happy from fairy tail.
Is actually not that social around those he doesn't know, personally I like to think he has some form of social anxiety which prevents from getting close to many people.
The reason why he dresses so cutely is that he figured that even if people stared at him, at least he'd know why rather than just being clueless.
Favorite animated movie is the toy story saga which he cries to every time he rewatches.
Really enjoys playing matchmaker with people he knows, for example in middle school he introduced his aunt to his homeroom teacher, leading for them to get married three years later.
Loves playing animal Crossing (and spending a ridiculous amount on leaf tickets in pocket camp)
Has an absurd amount of plushies, except he does know how to stack them properly to make it seem like he only has a few.
Is studying to be an architect or interior designer, he hasn't quite decided yet but he hopes to someday make homes that'll reflect his clients essence.
Has two pet hamsters, Hamtaro and Hamantha.
Megamo Saikou
Denser than cement when it comes to how much things cost. Not like business expenses because he's been trained for that, but he does think a loaf of bread costs twenty bucks.
Was a premature baby and had a heart problem causing him to be rushed into surgery nearly immediately after being born.
Would be studying to be a brain surgeon if he wasn't set in stone to inherit the company.
Actually rather appreciates the arts, such as art galleries and musical theater.
Favorite animated movie is sleeping beauty.
Likes to people watch, he finds it amusing to see how others live.
Is a horrible cook, like cannot make box Mac n cheese.

!IWTV 2.07 Spoilers Below!
TW for racism, racial violence, and everything already in the episode.
These are mostly just my thoughts on Claudia and Louis and the role of age/gender/race in the trial.
The writers and actors and everyone went for the THROAT with this episode and I am HERE FOR IT.
First and foremost, this is a public lynching. Played out for an almost completely white audience. The CLOSE UPS on the mostly white audience as Claudia’s charges are read…
The farce of a trial. They didn't need to go to all this trouble to kill Claudia, Louis, and Madeline. They CHOSE to. They made it a SPECTACLE, as was often done during lynchings.
Louis referring to himself and Claudia as props instead of characters. Because the audience and the vampire "court" would have to see them as PEOPLE to consider them characters.
Lestat warping the narrative to make himself out to be the victim for a good chunk of the trial and immediately being believed and sympathized with because this poor white man has a sad.
The only defendant shown any sympathy or empathy during the trial being the sole white person, and a white woman no less. Madeleine is treated like a poor naive soul who could never have known what “horrible monsters” she was in league with. BUT SHE KNEW. She heard all about Lestat and why Claudia didn't want her to have his blood. She watched Claudia kill three people in front of her without breaking a sweat. To SAVE her.
Moreover, Madeleine is the only one they offer absolution to. Yes, she hasn’t committed any “vampire crimes,” but she’s once again given the benefit of the doubt as a white woman. She’s perceived as inherently innocent and worthy of salvation. The implication being she’s just one more person that’s been swept up in the schemes of these “villains”. While Claudia and Louis are treated as irredeemable and inherently evil. Lestat confessed to breaking the same laws they’re on trial for, but he also receives a white “get out of jail free” card.
The way Claudia, for all intents and purposes, a 14 year old Black CHILD is portrayed as a monster in addition to a child seductress” of sorts. The implication being she bent two fully grown men to her will. WE know Claudia is technically an adult inside (and that's how she sees herself), but the projection of maturity on a non-white child to justify violence and victimization against said child is excellently and devastatingly done.
The further “justification” of Lestat’s actions because he has his maker’s/father’s temper. Yet another excuse often bandied about by abusers. Like they "can’t help themselves". Obviously the cycle of abuse is a very real thing, I don’t mean to diminish that. But seeing him actually take a moment to be like “oh, no wait, I chose to do those things, that was actually all me” was a nice touch. Doesn’t absolve him of ANYTHING he did, but at least he finally acknowledges the role he played.
Claudia, the “youngest” of the group being the only one who fights against the compulsion to defend herself. We’re told over and over again through the series she’s unstable, too emotional, etc because she was turned as a teenage girl. And yet she is the only person there with an OUNCE of maturity. AND SHE SHOULDN’T HAVE TO BE.
She’s only that way because she became parentified while trying to save Louis from himself and from Lestat. Even now, knowing they’re all about to die in a horrific fashion, she can’t turn off the part of her that cares about Louis. That doesn’t want to see him reenter the cycle of abuse, even in his last moments. She was his protector then and now while Louis is trapped in his own head.
Louis should be the one protecting HER. She is his daughter/little sister. He is older than her. He's been a vampire longer than her. He’s the one who got her turned in the first place. Not to diminish everything he’s going through as an abuse victim among other things, but she desperately needed him and once again he couldn’t/wouldn't/didn't step up for her.
Claudia saying “Can I cry and say that I’m sorry too?” Directly calling out the weaponization of white tears. The audience is willing to sympathize with a grown white man but not with his CHILD victim. Once again a Black child (in the physical sense) being held to higher standards than a grown white man who “just couldn’t help himself.” The audience laughs at Claudia’s pain while simultaneously sympathizing with her abuser.
Despite Claudia taking Paris by storm as Baby Lulu, not a single fan of hers steps forward in her defense. Santiago even acknowledges there are fans of her show in the audience! Because she’s not their beloved Baby Lulu anymore. She’s no longer performing for the entertainment and comfort of a white audience. Because she isn’t a person to them. Great post here about how the Baby Lulu play is a minstrel performance too btw.
We’re told again and again throughout the show that Claudia was too young to be changed, too volatile and therefore doomed to go mad and perish. But she’s the sanest and strongest of the three on trial. She fights back against an entire coven trying to break her mind. She walks of her own volition even with her ruined Achilles tendons. If everything they claimed was true, we sure as hell aren’t seeing any indication of that now. Claudia has proven her mental fortitude time and time again despite misery after misery inflicted on her in her undead life.
But no one in the audience and none of the vampire “justices” will ever acknowledge this truth. Because she’s a child when it’s convenient to their narrative (playing Baby Lulu and her standing in the coven), but she’s suddenly an adult the instant she advocates for herself and is now fully accountable for her “crimes.” They refuse to admit the Claudia before them now is the one and only real Claudia.
Even at the very end, Claudia tries to protect Madeleine from the sun. She holds her. She shields her with her body. She does what NO ONE has ever done for her. What Louis SHOULD HAVE DONE FOR HER. We know the pain she suffers is agonizing. We’ve seen Louis and Madeleine’s go through it. Yet she stands there head high, holding her love, and singing the song she hated so much to the lynch mob. Because no one there is ever going to think of that song in its original context again. Instead, it’s her final act of defiance, her last chance to declare her autonomy and insist she will never be what they tried to make her.
The death scene is such a stark contrast to her first death when Louis is pleading with Lestat to save her. She was catatonic then, but here she is so devastatingly vibrant and ALIVE. And it makes it hurt so much more to see that taken from her along with her life.
Claudia is such an amazing character in this show. Bailey Bass and Delainey Hayles are such phenomenal actors. I am DEVASTATED we have reached the end of Claudia's story and this is her legacy, but at the same time I will NEVER forget this episode or their extremely nuanced performances. Do I hope they'll find a way to reincorporate Claudia into the story? Absolutely. I'd love to see more. But at the same time, if this is how she had to go, I'm glad they centered the narrative so strongly around her.

It wasn't quite morning when a pink car approached the music store. The town was still a little sleepy, only some people ventured out of their houses to go to the bakery, to meet in the front gardens to pick up the newspaper.
Only the sound of music coming from the bright car seemed to wake everyone up. The blonde's scream from the cassette recorder was better than any alarm clock. The young woman behind the wheel jerked the steering wheel around and turned sharply into the next street.
Behind the actually soft natural make-up was a big, cheerful grin. The bright car aimed at her normal almost shco innocent look. But ever since she had met her, her friends and so much more, inside her was a mix of sweet innocent pink and the black of the hell she kept happily walking into.
She hadn't quite forgotten the sting of the needle on her body as her lipstick-stained lips curled into a larger smile. ,,Here at last," she murmured, feeling her heart beating with joy and adrenaline.
Before she stopped in front of the store with her tires rolling. ,,Boys, open up!" she shouted over the music, pulled out the key and almost flew out of the car.
Only a few hours had passed since she returned from the larger neighboring town. This small town had neither a piercer nor a tattoo artist, so she only had to go to the next larger town, which was a few hours away. But for what they got, it was worth it to hell and back.
Tearing open the door to the store and storming in, Euronymous knew one of her friends would never lock the store, not when they'd all had a big party in the basement just hours before and might get new followers as well as further ruin the good public image.
A public image that she still had and she was also the only connection to the "normal" world for the boys. ,,Guys! Wake up look!" she shouted into the store and turned on the music and picked up her favorite record before walking through the alden.
She saw a few of her friends lying on the bed and the beanbag before the group gradually staggered up from the cellar. ,,What's-What's wrong?" asked Dead, who looked even bluer and more tired than usual, but who was immediately drawn into the crowd when he saw the piercing on her nose and the tattoo on her arm. When the two pink stones on her upper body also intervened, even if it was slightly painful, it made her happy.
Everything about it had made her happy. ,,I'm dying for this," the blonde mumbled and seemed completely fascinated and artistically inspired by the whole picture as he grabbed his drawing things and started to draw a little. ,,Now that's devilish," joked Faust, rising from the beanbag with Occoltus, who grinned broadly and let his fingers wander carefully over the pentagram.
She saw the astonishment of the black-haired man whose own pentagram chain was still hanging around his neck, his protector and bringer of strength and now on her skin. ,,Yes, I know even the metal is black," she said proudly and smiled as she carefully tapped her nose, the septum of which had a spider's head as a clasp, making the leader and founder of the band smile.
She knew that Euronymous had been thinking about a sign for a while too. Since she had gotten to know the band and her friends, they had not only listened to music together, laughed and written songs together, but they had also all lost themselves in this idea of the devil. The pentagram was the most appropriate thing to do.
,,Shit... guys, I think we need to get something pierced too...as a band, how about a pentagram?" Euronymous suggested and the others nodded and joined in.
The music was turned up, the beers were brought out and there would be a little concert before they all got into the cars with a little alcohol in them, feeling less pain was the group's dew as they all drove to the tattoo artist without an appointment, knowing that when they finally had it Stan would come to greet them in person. For the most diabolical group in the world.
Even if things went a little differently Occultus had to wipe away a tear at the needle, Faust thought for a few minutes about where he wanted the motif, Euronymous, on the other hand, wanted to push the needle through his nose himself and Dead, Dead actually seemed dead calm for the first time and almost enjoyed the needles on his skin.
When the group walked out at the end, proud and still slightly bloody on their skin, it was the best thing they had ever done.

So yes this week we went to see the new horror movie Heretic which I thought was absolutely great!
Now I don't want to give to much away because you have to go and see this one for yourself! Its very extremely good and another win for A24. As you probably know from reading my thoughts on movies that I have been very critical of their films at times being they have had movies where the story and everything is perfect but the last 15-10 minutes devolve into just nonsensical bullshit like stuff being weird for the sake of being weird but recently they have been doing pretty good and this is another excellent example of that.
The movie is basically about these 2 Mormon girls Sophie Thatcher as Sister Barnes and Chloe East as Sister Paxton who are going around town trying to spread the world of Jesus and trying to get people to join their church and they end up at the home of a Mr. Reed played by Hugh Grant who expresses interest in their region/church He gets them to come into his house and seems like a really nice guy but then he shows his true nature and traps them in his weirdly creepy maze like house and he uses his weapon of choice on them which is Theology while the girls try to escape the Hell they are now trapped in. Now its kinda very talky and you have to pay attention because it is a very interesting and a very thought provoking movie I didn't expect that from this movie there is some scares it did give me a couple of jumps but the movie is mainly very suspenseful and its incredibly creepy but it does I thought keep you on the edge of your seat being there is that "oh noes whats going to happen next!" type of feel to it. you actually care about the girls and want to seem them survive and make it out of there.
The acting in this was amazing and you should see it for that alone. Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East as the 2 girls were really good in this I thought they did an excellent job but the true performance goes to Hugh Grant as the creepy and somewhat menacing Mr. Reed he plays this villain role so perfectly that alone is scary by itself. You kind don't know what the character did before this but he is extremely highly intelligent but you can tell he is broken inside and he seemingly went looking for answers in religion and what he found there he took it and twisted it and now uses it like a weapon to the point where it is just like a physical thing like a knife. The only other character that I can think of at the time he might be similar too is John Kramer/Jigsaw from the Saw movies. Mr. Reed is not the same but I do feel like there is some similar things.
also speaking about actors the character of Elder Kennedy I seen this guy and I'm like "he looks soooo familiar!!" but it wasn't really clicking in my head but then it hit me and I'm like "oh its Topher Grace" lol
but other then that like I said the movie was excellent and I would recommend going to see it.
also just one last thing The scenes with the staircases outside where they had to walk up and down the stairs carrying their bikes I was like "Why don't they just walk up and down the grass? it would be alot easier I mean that is what I would do!"

I'm Not Made for That!📰
Previous
Next
All Chapters
Warnings: None

It's a new week...
And I don't have much enthusiasm anymore. I'm happy that Ayato has left me alone, but I know that he is up to something.
The burning of the bakery doesn't sit right with me, and it's not for the reason people might think. It doesn't feel right to me because I feel that Ayato is somehow behind it.
I know that I'm jumping to conclusions, but I feel that there is a connection, but it's not clear. I decide it's best to ignore the feeling and to carry on. It's a new week, so it's a mini fresh start!
I carry on the day as usual, but there seems to be someone new. It's the president of the drama club. He was the star of the play me and Taeko went to see. The play was great, and it cheered Taeko up.
It also seems that the rest of the students find his performance to be amazing, too, since I always see him with a group of students trailing behind him. Seeing the students rush after him gives me an idea for a new article.
The bell rings, and the school day is over, but I still have to attend my club meeting. I start to head over to the clubroom, and I start to shape a new idea in my mind for an article.
As I'm about to open the door to the club room, I feel a tap on my shoulder. The sudden touch makes me freeze, and my mind goes crazy with thoughts about who it could be.
I'm currently alone, so this could be the perfect time for Ayato to attack me. I let out a sigh and slowly turn around.
I'm met with a boy with familiar black hair, but it's a different person than the one I was expecting.
"Oh, it's you, Yamada," I say to him with a sigh of relief.
"Hey, (L/N). I was wondering if you're busy, I need to talk with you," Taro asks me with a nervous smile.
"I'm not busy right now, so ask away," I give him the go-ahead to ask me the question that's making him nervous.
"Well, I was talking with Kizano earlier today," Taro starts off.
The name 'Kizano' catches my attention, and I can't help but point it out.
"Kizano? Isn't he the president of the drama club?" I ask Taro.
"Yes! I was talking to him earlier, and I found out that he is looking for someone to play Alice in his newest play! I was wondering if you could do it?"
"I don't know... I'm not that great of an actor, so I doubt I'll be much help to him...," I trail off about how this can't work.
"C'mon, (L/N). Can you at least talk with him?" Taro asks me, and I can't help but feel guilty.
"Well, I wouldn't mind talking to him...," I start off, "Fine, when do I have to meet him?"
I see Taro's face lighten up at my words. "Tomorrow! He wants to meet with you tomorrow in the club room!"
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
The next day, I go to the drama club room, and I can't help but be filled with nervousness. I never talked with Kizano before, so I don't know how this'll turn out.
I decide to go by myself, so I tell Taeko to wait for me in the newspaper club room.
I walk over to the drama club, and I see that the door is wide open. I slip inside and look around. My eyes are met with a mini set, costumes, and a lot of velvet. But a certain someone catches my attention, and that's Kizano, who is sitting on a chair and looking at a script.
I stand in the doorway and speak up to catch his attention, "You wanted to see me?"
Kizano looks up from his script and at me.
"Oh, yes! I was expecting you, (L/N)! A good friend of mine said that you would be the perfect candidate to be Alice! So show me what you got!"
"O-oh! I'm sorry, Sunobu, but I can't actually act."
Kizano leans back in his chair and lets out a sigh. "What a shame! You look absolutely perfect for the role of Alice! Your eyes are filled with a magnificent sense of wonder and curiosity, the way you carry yourself is polite yet prideful, and your voice has a certain tone that can't be captured by no one else. Quite a shame."
I'm left stunned by Kizano's eccentric description of myself. I can't help but feel embarrassed by his comments.
"I know, but I think it's best to find someone else," I tell him as I'm about to turn back and leave, but his voice stops me.
"You're friends with that Taeko girl, right?" He asks with interest.
"Yes, why?" I answer his question, but I can't help but ask a question back.
I turn to him, and I see a slight smirk show on his face before speaking up again, "Are you two dating?"
I'm taken back by his question, but I answer back, "No, we're just friends."
"What a shame. If I were her, I wouldn't let you leave my sight for a moment."
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
"He really told you that?" Taeko asks me as I explain to her what happened when I met Kizano.
"I don't know how to feel about it. Was he flirting with me?" I ask with a bit of nervousness in my voice.
"Maybe, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's actually how he makes a casual conversation," Teako tells me while taking a bite out of her lunch.
"Yeah, maybe that's just how he talks. He is a bit on the wild side."
"A bit?" Teako asks while letting out a giggle.
I let out a chuckle, "Well, I guess more than a bit."
"But what did you do about the role, though?" She asks with curiosity, "Are you going to be the new Alice?"
I shake my head, "No, I'm not an actor, so I turned it down."
"Awww... I would kill to see you play Alice!"
"Please, tell me that you're joking."
"Maybe."

‘Went up the Hill’ Heads for Toronto Premiere With Vicky Krieps and Dacre Montgomery in Overlapping Roles as a Ghost: ‘Nursery Rhymes Are Dark’ | Variety

Writer-director Samuel Van Grinsven says that his new film “Went Up the Hill” was inspired by a single image of two people in a room, a coffin between them, both equally mourning the person inside, but knowing next to nothing about one another.
His film, which debuts this week at the Toronto International Film Festival, sees a young man, Jack (Dacre Montgomery), travel to a remote part of New Zealand to attend the funeral of his estranged mother. There he meets her grieving widow, Jill (Vicky Krieps). But his mother’s spirit returns, inhabiting both of their bodies to speak to the other one and instigating a threatening three-way nocturnal dance.
Van Grinsven, who previously directed the well-noted “Sequin in a Blue Room,” spoke to Variety ahead of the film’s Toronto premiere.
You have called “Went up the Hill” a ghost story, but not a horror film. Please explain?
It’s a tricky thing. There’s definitely horror elements throughout it. There’s some horror films that inspired it, in terms of our references, but I would hesitate to call it a fully a fully fledged horror. Structurally, it’s different to that, even in terms of pacing. Our inspirations are Bergman’s “Persona” or “Hour of the Wolf” or “Personal Shopper” by [Olivier] Assayas. Three characters played by two actors, including one played by both, creates a degree of confusion for the viewer. How intentional is that confusion?
Confusion is natural in a premise like this. I think often the characters themselves are quite confused. [Audiences are] very much where the characters are at. It’s pretty rare that the characters are ahead of the audience. Vicki Krieps’ character Jill is [ahead] to begin with, and that’s probably the moment in terms of the identities and possession and the shifting identities, that is the most confusing. It’s the first time you step solely into her point of view and you meet Jack in Jack’s body. [Later] you meet Elizabeth in Jack’s body, and that’s where we put the audience [narratively] behind.
But we were not so much seeking confusion as aiming to let the audiences experience what these two characters are going through.
You make it clear that both lead characters are gay, but it doesn’t appear to be a major theme of the movie. How come?
I think if both characters were to be straight, that there would be an ingrained audience expectation of the two of them falling in love. And I wasn’t interested in that. I liked the idea that their connection, if you removed that element from their relationship, they would be forced to trust each other in a way that is like brother and sister — and then almost like mother and son.
You are dealing with weighty subjects. Why risk trivializing them by referring to a kids’ nursery rhyme in the title and through the character names?
The “Jack and Jill went up the hill” nursery rhyme is fascinating in the sense that it’s quite confusing. It’s two characters searching for something in a place where it’s not commonly found — going to the top of a hill to find water doesn’t necessarily seem the most logical thing to do.
Also, there’s the maternal connection of a nursery rhyme, which is passed from mother to child and from family to family. That felt extremely powerful, when you’re talking about generational trauma, or the way in which cycles of abuse are passed on.
And the repetition that comes with a nursery rhyme is close to the cycles of the darker themes that we’re dealing with. Finally, I liked the sense that nursery rhymes are used to lull a person to sleep [where my characters experience so much].
How did Vicky Krieps come on board?
She was actually the first person we thought of for the role of Jill. And she really believed in the project from the moment she read it. But it is a big ask coming all the way to New Zealand, and she wasn’t available to do the role.
Then COVID happened and everyone’s schedules changed too. We ended up shooting the film later than we expected, which opened that door again to having a conversation with Vicky. We shot in 2023.
She’s a very instinctual artist who follows her gut. She felt ready to explore and wanted to bring to this to the screen. So, she came on board in an executive production sense, and supported the film to getting off the ground.
Where was it filmed?
We ended up shooting the film in the Canterbury Highlands of South Island, New Zealand, about two hours from where I was born where my family come from.
And the ice scenes?
The content in which the characters are stationed on the backs of the lake was shot at a real Lake Pearson location, the one that you can see from that house.
Then, for the scenes in which they’re physically on the ice, we built surface in a large open paddock, just in front of the lake. We were able to work with some incredible art team in New Zealand who had experience with building those surfaces for films like “Avatar” and “The Hobbit.”

Tell me about his big spectacular movie, which I thought was incredible. [Ferguson eyes me suspiciously, a dubious look, which sort of throws me off]
No, really, it’s really immense. And there’s so much moral complexity to it, which I kept finding myself writing in my notes. Why did you write morally complex? Why did that kick in?
Uhh, me? Well, quickly, with blockbusters, we often expect big triumphs and clear delineations of good and evil, and this gets muddied with a lot of people playing a kind of strategic intergalactic geo-political chess, which I think your character is definitely doing. Yeah, yeah. Could you just take the quote there and just put it on me instead? Say, Rebecca said that? That would be amazing, thank you [laughs].
But to be honest, I think you nailed it, and that’s what we, actors, love about these roles and working with Denis. It’s not the simplicity of good vs. evil. It is always the moral imbalance of a human being, you know? Even if you’re out in space and the stakes or high or whatever is there. That’s what makes it—the shades, the nuances.
Sure, I would say that this film pushes it as far as you possibly can with a blockbuster; you start to question your allegiance to seemingly heroic characters. It’s interesting. I think that’s really fascinating, and I think I’m going to have to, after these interviews, think about it. And I think you’re right. There were moments where, Oh gosh, I can’t go into it too much, but I remember talking to Denis and thinking, “Oh my god, she’s so driven by her belief!” You know if I were my own daughter, I’d be going sod off, stop it!” Like I felt this eagerness to separate, to cut the umbilical cord, but I obviously have to love my character and understand her.
It made it easier understanding the world of the Fremen—without giving anything away in that sense—but when she becomes a reverend mother, all of the information handed down into her, all the layers that she needs to carry inside, is something that she needs to deal with as well, whether she loves it or not.
That’s one of the key elements to me of the movie: characters like yours and Paul’s who are making difficult choices and ones that could even possibly alienate the audience, like the choice Paul has to make with Chani at the end... You’re basically comparing the inner journey of my character architecturally designing war and Timothee choosing between two women [laughs]. I think he has bigger issues than that, buddy! [laughs]. But I think you’re right; it’s within your choice, and reason comes the fall of simple love, the domino effect of a higher stake. And that’s, I think, is the brutality with which the character of Jessica needs to penetrate through him. It’s the play is bigger than your emotions.
I was going to ask if it’s hard playing these choices, but when you think of her as a mother-to-be, again, maybe the protective nature of all of it makes more sense. [Shakes her head in agreement] I think one of the difficulties I had tapping into, which was challenging, was that I’m not religious at all. And I would say that Jessica is somewhat, or becomes, a fundamentalist, right? In her belief. And it is so completely the opposite of who I am as a human being. So tapping into it and embracing it and understanding it was a really interesting journey for me, internally.
For sure, there’s a fervor of fundamentalist, but at the same time, I sort of read some of her behavior as a chess move of protection to make sure the Fremen are on her and Paul’s side. It all seems too tenuous for them. Yeah, that’s what’s interesting, isn’t it? It’s how you interpret, and I agree, but I also believe the moves that are made are made on a pillar of actual belief. What she actually believes in her son, what he is, it’s a very strong belief, call it fundamentalist or just call it very strong belief. The point is that, this is her mission throughout the entire duration of this world is to push forth her belief.
Right, well, then, were you ever concerned about your character coming across as… I dunno, scheming? Duplicitous? The Bene Gesserit aren’t evil, but it’s maybe fair to say they have their own hidden agenda. Yeah, they do, and it’s a little bit like back in the day, isn’t it? I compare it a bit to when I did “The White Queen” [TV series] back in the day, and it was a chess game. The men were out in the battlefields, and the women were plotting the houses. You marry France, that’s a good alliance—but I don’t love him!— surdoué, better army, stronger bonds. It’s sort of like [make little noise like moving figures], the plotting, the chess games, right? It’s kind of what the sisterhood is all about. So the question is, is this what we have had [all along], even if it’s a science-fiction, action film, based on the idea and the idealism of what we have in society, which is women are at home and plotting the stronger bonds and the bigger fight. But what’s nice is here, we have a mixture because Denis lets women onto the battlefield as well, and that’s what’s so wonderful: we’re mixing it.
This film ends the way it ends— let’s call it a cliffhanger. But it teases so much more, a holy war, a daughter for your character. I assume you want to see more and potentially play opposite your daughter at some point in the future? I mean, I do, but… there’s never just a yes or a no. I’m very much what’s on the page, the story needs to be there, there needs to be reason. But it’s Denis. Denis wouldn’t write something that I wouldn’t want to be in. I love him. I think he is exquisite, he’s exquisite as a director, I think he is so creative. I think he is so smart, and especially when he talks about how the world is going the way the studio lies, and the creative freedom that is gradually taken away from us. I know what he wants, which means I believe in him.
So if it came [to a sequel], of course, I’d want to, but also, I want to take my character into a place that’s interesting to me. There’s always the balance. If you’re going to dedicate your four months to something, it needs to be worth it, right?
I need to wrap up, but I wanted to quickly ask you about “Mission Impossible” and your character’s death, which I thought was fitting with the film thematically—the idea that Ethan may lose everyone he loves in this mission and the great cost of it all—I wanted to hear how you felt about it. Was it bittersweet? I think, for me, when they came to me with the offer, and I said I wasn’t interested, that was the result; it was very much what was planned in my schedule. And how it was executed was very much, umm, an interpretation for everyone. I guess I [would] wish my husband would grieve me more than Ethan did [makes a cheeky clacking with her jaw]
To be honest, with that said, cheekiness aside, I believe that Chris McQuarrie and Tom [Cruise] make fantastic films and they are always wanting to go in directions that are unexpected, and darker, and interesting.
So when the relationship came to a point where—there was not more to be done really with Ilsa, and we have three picture deals in Hollywood, and when they come up, we as actors have the decision to say yes or no to a continued offer; they will make a good, something dramatic out of it, and all I can do is embrace it.
I hope people enjoyed it; I know a lot of people didn’t, and I know there are a lot of articles out there— and I’m not the writer. I do my job, and I do it as well as I can, and I serve the character because I think Chris wrote a fantastic character. And I’m so honored and grateful that I got to play her.

xiao zhan ruxi interview part 1/2 :
so we will start now~ what impresses you at the time when you finished understanding this character?
XZ: i think his character is so special, it seems that this character will live around me. like it could be the story of certain office workers inside the subway.
will shengyang’s identity as a designer bring you the feeling of a previous self as a designer?
XZ: there will definitely be. after all, the industry he works in is the same as the one i interned in before.
do you recall some previous work experience during the performance?
XZ: yes, yes.
everyone actually says that sheng yang is xiao zhan in parallel time and space, how do you feel about it?
XZ: actually, i’m quite scared. i’m afraid that everyone will say that because i think it’s important to attribute the qualities of an actor to the character. but actually, i think there are some differences between shengyang and xiao zhan.
i think shengyang is someone who goes forward bravely, a character with sunny exterior and as for xiao zhan he think it’s better to be quieter. i think there are some similarities in dealing with people and things. for example, when encountering difficulties, they will find ways to solve them but i think for some aspects of work. like for the oppression of superiors i won’t choose shengyang’s method. instead i will communicate with my superiors. i’m not referring to the superior department or the head but the real boss . i will communicate and then find a solution because it think there will be always solutions to everything instead of blindly tolerating like shengyang but then exploded in the end.
when you was a designer before, would there have been such a time of fighting wits and courage with the party first?
XZ: we can use the word fighting wits and courage to describe it. more importantly, you need to play your role well, guide your clients, then provide a result that satisfies both the customer and yourself.
in fact, the character of shengyang also has many expressions in his everyday life. did you have any special designs during your performances as him?
XZ: i just need to know about shengyang, he’s a small sun so i didn’t preset anything else. for example, i need to frown or i have to laugh happily or what. i saw before that everyone said there was a scene where xiao zhan face was spoiled by shengyang. it’s when our family of three having dinner then my mom brought a very hot plate of dumplings, i ate that dumplings and it was really freshly cooked. I started to eat that, i didn’t expect it to be so hot, so i ate it in my mouth, it’s really hot. so, i didn’t design it at all. it’s just that, it’s really hot and i can’t spit it out at once, we have already filming so that’s the only way and then we continue the playing but later instead, the director used that one so i think life dramas can be quite interesting sometimes.
so what do you think about the relationship between shengyang and jian bing? what kind of influence and emotional value do they bring to each other?
XZ: i think for shengyang, jian bing made him realize his shortcomings, make him more mature, and then shengyang made jian bing realize that she still had the momentum and heat of her youth.
in this series, there are a lot of scenes of him getting along with his parents. what plot impressed you most?
XZ: people may think that the quarrel will be very impressive but what impressed me the most was the scene where our family of three sat at a dining table, which was particularly relaxing. it doesn’t feel like it’s an acting, but each of us is living in the current scene, everyone really feels like a family.
is there any similarity or differences between the way he interacts with his parents and the way you interact with your parents?
XZ: they are basically the same. i may not be as glib as shengyang, i may need to charge more in my daily life but actually it’s really similar, it’s a lifestyle that is very similar to my parents.
#will post part 2 later and most likely edit it#xiao zhan#shengyang#sunshine by my side#sunshine by my side spoiler#accio victuuri translation#i need coffee and food first before i can continue on lol

I want to know about the inception au! Who is more like Arthur, who is more like Eames, what is their history, what are they doing that requires them to be dressed up... spill anything you want!
Oooh very good questions! I literally just put my brain together for the Inception AU last night so maybe we can all help me develop this one! I had a plot for the Inception AU with other drivers, but not for these two specifically.
Arthur and Eames have their own sort of complicated personalities. I think Esteban is more Eames - not afraid to be silly, wicked smart but hides it behind the silly and the aloof.
Comparing Pierre to Arthur is a little more difficult, because Arthur is VERY rigid, he's very proper, he's very posh, he's very...a lot of things Pierre really isn't. But Pierre is also not really like Eames at all - so I think his personality aligns more with Arthur's. He's particular, he wants things certain ways, he likes to be in control, ect ect.
This gets so long, my apologies.
If we stick with that comparison, that would of course make Pierre the Point-Man (idk how into Inception you are, but I've done extensive deep dives and used to write one of the characters for fun (Eames actually) so I did a ton of research on it and probably know more than even Christopher Nolan himself) but the point-man is the info guy. He does all the research, makes sure not a hair is out of place. Makes sure the team knows what to expect and how to expect it. He's kind of the biggest part in terms of set up and execution.
So that would leave Esteban as the forger which, in my opinion, oddly fits. The forger of course is the 'shapeshifter' who can manifest themselves to look like anyone they so choose inside of a dream. But it goes deeper than that, of course. If they are to play an important role (like someone close to the mark, the person they are invading) it isn't enough to look the part, you have to act the part. It comes down to studying the person you're going to forge, making sure you get the finest details, the smallest mannerisms, speak like them, ect. So basically he would be an actor!!! Who can change what he looks like in dreams to manipulate marks.
Why are they dressed up? Well, that's just because everyone in the movie is always dressed to the nines LOL They're running around with guns in suits and fancy outfits. I guess that wouldn't mean EVERYONE in the business does that, but its more fun that way, don't you think? Especially if they're doing really high-risk jobs for a shit ton of money.
Coming up with their history is going to be much more interesting. Arthur and Eames in the film NEVER go over what exactly happened between them. It's just snide comments. Cobb says, "I'm going after Eames" and Arthur is just like "what? no? he's in Mombasa." and Cobb goes there any picks him up anyway. Then in a conversation with Eames..
EAMES: It's perfectly possible. Just bloody difficult. COBB: That's what I keep saying to Arthur. EAMES: Arthur? You're still working with that stick-in-the-mud? COBB: He's a good point man. EAMES: The best. But he has no imagination. If you're going to perform inception, you need imagination.
Of course, then, there's the scene where they're all in their little team meeting coming up with the idea to plant in Robert's head...
Cobb : That might work. Arthur : Might? We're gonna need to do a little better than 'might'. Eames : Oh, thank you for your contribution, Arthur. Arthur : Forgive me for wanting a little specificity, Eames. Eames: Chuckling but also looking at him like ???? Arthur : Specificity?
And this gem:
Arthur : Eames, I am impressed. Eames : Your condescension, as always, is much appreciated, Arthur, thank you.
And two parts later that are much more minor - Arthur pulling out a gun to shoot against some heavily armed security, Eames pushing him aside with this huge ass bazooka, "You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling." - the line that sailed the ship in the dwindling inception fandom ahaha.
And then later when Arthur puts them all to sleep in the hotel room so they can go down to the snow level. Eames says, "Security is going to run you down hard." and Arthur replies with, "And I will lead them on a merry chase." Eames: Be sure to be here in time for the kick. Arthur, aggravated: Go to sleep, Mr. Eames.
So that's really all the crumbs we get in terms of those two, with only the simple implication that they've PROBABLY worked together a time or two before (Probably more than that - because why does Arthur IMMEDIATELY know where Eames is when Cobb asks if they don't like each other? And why is Eames so readily able to admit that Arthur is the best at what he does, he just has no imagination?) They work VERY well together, their personalities just clash and they have some sort of disdain for each other. Though more than anything, Eames finds it very funny and Arthur kind of takes it a lot more personal/serious.
With all THAT said - we can assume, safely, that Pierre and Esteban probably used to run small jobs together back when they were younger. Dream sharing IS illegal, just in case anyone forgot, and not exactly the easiest thing to access. They probably got in around the same time, or Esteban pulled Pierre in after he'd been in it a year or two, and went from there. I'd say they probably had a few jobs go sour, sometimes because of Pierre and sometimes because of Esteban, sometimes because of someone else on the team - whatever. And these are high stakes jobs.
If you don't fulfill yours and your client's contract, they do come after you. Usually to kill. Hence why Arthur and Cobb were on the run after that first failed mission right away in the movie.
I would imagine it makes tensions build and eventually they just work together so much and get so sick of each other that it starts to cause fights, arguments, ect. I feel like something pretty major must have happened - maybe one of their team mates was killed, maybe a dream went horribly wrong and they were stuck in limbo together to the point of wanting to rip each other's throats out - I'm not really sure. Ideas and suggestions always welcome.
But whatever it may be - they CAN, at least, work together they would just rather not. So then being paired together on one of the biggest jobs of their lives, with the most at stake, the highest risk, also simultaneously the hardest thing they've ever done (because no one has achieved inception before aside from one person) - it causes a lot of tension. Some of it coming out in more...sexual and emotional ways.
Thoughts? Prayers? Let me know what you think! I feel like I've given you a fucking novel at this point, but this is LEGIT the process my brain goes through when I start formulating ideas - especially AUs based on movies and such. I have more to add I'm sure, I just have to stew on it a bit, toss some ideas around, figure out what exactly happened between the two...and then I can put it all together.
Thanks for reading (and for the ask!)
#save#save tag#saving this for later when i need to reference it lmao#pierresteban#hhhh okay#okay okay i can make a plot out of this#the plot is NOT going to be the movie#i'm just using the movie as a heavy reference for now until i do build my plot

Horror Movie’s I just watched: May 2023
Shorter list this time. Here we go:
Resurrection (2022) I saved this one for Mother’s day because I heard the main character was a Mom. I was a bit afraid it wouldn’t factor into the plot that much, but I was reassured, especially with the final scene.
This is another one, kinda like Censor, where the whole thing might be in the protagonist's head. Where she’s so wound up tight at the beginning that her daughter’s accident only starts the ball rolling in her head some nightmarish fantasy of the worst case scenario. It helps that we never got any confirmation about whether of not Tim Roth’s character was a hallucination or anyone else can see him. Hell, given that we never get a flashback with him and his first lines is him saying he doesn’t recognize her, there’s a disturbing possibility that he is real, but is some poor guy who just looks way too much like her ex and she’s hallucinating everything he said. And that final reveal about the baby actually being inside him is too surreal and supernatural to not have heavy implications if it wasn’t in her head.
Granted, like the best of ambiguous films, the story works regardless if this theory is right or not. The point is, externally or internally, this character is tormented. I feel like the moral of this story is; Girlbossing can only help you in limited ways. When it come to trauma as severe as this, try to find therapy. Though given our culture, she still probably couldn’t. It’s not fair.
Mad God Here was a movie I couldn’t take my eyes off, and I still feel like I missed a few things. That’s how striking the imagery was. I don’t know what I can add to what’s already been said about the themes that others haven’t already. Cycles of violence not solving anything, the de-personification of mass labor, civilizations rising and falling again despite the sacrifices; those are what I can glean. Also, being reminded at various points of Eraserhead, Fallout New Vegas, Metropolis, and Cemetery Man. Probably not even half of that was intentional.
It just wows me. Any one of the creatures in this could be the centerpiece or high point of any other film. Stop motion really has become a lost art. Sure, we know now a big reason why studios heavily prefer CGI, despite how good it actually looks, is cheaper and faster to make then any other effect. But works like this show that, if you’re actually comfortable letting film take as much time as it needs and use as much money as possible to make it look good (Better there than some executive’s overstuffed salary), you’ll allow a lot more variety in how each film is made and look. Gee, it’s almost like time crunches and trying to save money is actually bad for the product. WhO kNeW?
Scare Me I recognized the male lead, Josh Ruben, from CollegeHumor. And after that, this whole movie, to me, played like an extended Hardly Working sketch. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad.
I was worried a whole movie mostly about two people (briefly three) telling scary stories, and not actually showing us the stories, would look too cheap. Thankfully, there were some technical flourishes. The performances, including the bits their characters acted out so they’re effectively a performance in a performance, are good even if the stories themselves are hit or miss.
The first werewolf one is just goofy, but that’s intentional. The Grandpa one is ok, even if it’s a touch ableist at a point. The troll’s a bit fun. And the “deal with the devil” one has a fun payoff.
What this actually ends up being about, insecure white male (maybe?) getting violent with his more successful female colleague was pretty inevitable given how passive-aggressive they both are. Honestly, that they’re both such a-holes help kept what would be a too uncomfortable situation pretty light. You can mark this as another case of “actor known for comedy taking a serious villain role to show their range” movie, like Robin Williams. This was effective enough here, though I don’t know if it would work for him outside of it.
Final note (and mild spoiler for two films), can’t help but felt like the mid-credit scene reminded of the very end of the 1982 movie Death Trap. Not sure if that movie was a direct inspiration for this. I saw that for the first time about a month ago so it’s fresh on my mind. Outside of that, this is pretty much a good hang-out horror movie. Especially for fans of the old College Humor.
That’s all for now. I’ll probably have less films to talk about next time, but I’ll try to make up for it in July.

The fact he’s choosing to do it – he had to call Lizzie there – suggests to me there’s something *necessary* to it, if not necessarily compulsive. ... but sex as his chosen way of trying to work through whatever’s going on inside his head is a necessary and known route.
Yeah definitely, I agree with this. Where I get hung up is that there is a rote sense to it. I think I was trying to tease out that idea of him enacting on Lizzie something that's being done to him. His *absence* in that scene is notable, and doesn't resemble to me him (unconsciously or consciously) assuming the role of the people who are figuratively 'fucking' him by coercing him into doing this killing, and putting Lizzie into the role he's in. The vibe is so completely different to me. If it's an enactment, it seems a different kind of enactment from that kind of reversal of roles. He actually looks like the one *being* fucked there in some respects, despite his active/penetrative role -- he's removed himself so throughly from the present it looks like his body is just going on without him.
why not wank if it’s only the rush of orgasm he’s after, especially if Lizzie/the partner might as well not be there?
I personally feel if Tommy was *that* disassociated he just wouldn’t bother with sex.
Yeah, that's just it, isn't it? I can see why you might want to answer that with the ideas about enacting this role reversal with Lizzie, I'm not sure I see it in the actual scene as played, though, which kind of slithers away from any concrete interpretation. Because he *is* that dissociated, you know? Like that's what is on screen and how CM plays him. So idk. I feel forced to grapple with that (not that I have come up with any straightforward answers that aren't headcanon/conjecture)
So maybe some of that “why even bother, why is he doing this” is that this particular scene leans slightly more on the side of ‘author requiring it to happen for Reasons’ than fully and deeply believable as part of the character
I feel similarly to most of his scenes with sex workers throughout the series, or the scene of him in bed with the two women after the party in s2. It does sort of chafe against how the character otherwise seems; maybe some of this is a conflict between author intent and actor interpretation? But it does create this oddness about Tommy and sex.
the push-pull he has in exposing her to Mosley (at her birthday, start of S6,) but then desperately trying to claim/protect her at exactly the same time is this conflict in him about treating everyone around him like tools/soldiers but also realising by that stage that he can’t/shouldn’t. (Or he just...wouldn't engage with Mosley in that way, which is a huge different story about what reactions/actions he seems to feel he actually has available to him in that circumstance)
Yeah. I think by that point he's quite aware of this and isn't particularly treating her like a tool. First, he invited Moseley before he knew that Moseley had known Lizzie in her 'former' life, so didn't intentionally set out to expose her. Though he waits until the last moment, he's careful before the ballet to let her in on the fact Mosely will most likely recognize her from that context, and he doesn't ask her to play any role there (and seems to admire when she tells Mosley off, rather than worry about how it might impact his own plans). By the time he gets to s6 he makes somewhat of an attempt to 'brief' her but again, not beforehand and not in much depth.
So he's not necessarily ensuring she's out of the line of fire, but he's also not 'using' her in the way he would have in say, s2. Not to say he couldn't have been more upfront with her and given her the choice to not attend the ballet under those circumstances; he's not quite there yet.
Tommy probably *would* develop an emotionally intimate relationship with his drycleaner if he used them long enough…lol...actually he *did* have a pretty complex relationship with his launderer in S1...all occuring quite correctly within the bounds of the roles/rank/status, but still kind of deeper than expected.
Yeah, the dry cleaner example wasn't the best 1:1 comparison. But idk, maybe like your hairdresser/barber, you tend to talk to them even about your personal life (depending on your personality and theirs) but if they tried to say 'i wish you wouldn't pay me and would treat me like a girlfriend' you'd probably feel they were crossing a boundary?
But like... he *does* listen and he does think about what she said and act to support her goal of getting out of the 'life' she's in -- something he sees as similar to his own motivations. I don't think their relationship prior to that was impersonal or just strictly customer/client, there was bound to be familiarity and affection, but what Lizzie says there *is* a bit out of the bounds of their previous dynamic (from his perspective; her perception might have been different) in a way that throws him initially.
And him giving her the job is a way of re-establishing that boundary in a different way; he's not interested (then) in what she's interested in (she's at least a little in love with him and wants a relationship) but he does give her what he can give her, something else she desires (to stop sex work).
responding to @divinekangaroo's response to me!
re: the Lizzie scene in s2, I never feel like I can articulate what I see in any kind of coherent way. It's one of those completely *weird* scenes that CM throws in every so often that isn't quite what you'd expect it to be but isn't particularly easily defined, either.
The impending assassination and his emotional shut down over Grace are definitely elements!
The ability to get away from being used to kill, but then being locked back into it against his will.
Yeah, absolutely, this is incredibly important to both season 2 and season 3 (and arguably season 5 in a different way).
I have such a sense he’s almost *forcing* himself to do it.
Yeah absolutely, that's how I look at it too. I don't sense any anger in it, but Tommy does often react to situations he can't escape by 'going away' in a sense (dissociating, detaching, withdrawing emotionally).
I wonder how this fits with what you talk about later regarding him 'acting out' on Lizzie what's being done to him -- would he have to so obviously force himself to do this if that were the case? It seems like it would be more compulsive/irresistible and feel necessary for him if that was the motivating factor? He doesn't seem to be aware enough to have it be the case that he feels this compulsion and knows where it's coming from and is struggling with it by becoming detached, idk.
From Lizzie’s words (and how warm the two of them are in the typewriter scene) I have to assume they’ve had a relatively amicable paid sexual relationship, and Tommy’s definitely acting different in that particular scene.
Yeah definitely. This tends to be misinterpreted by some parts of fandom as how he *always* is with Lizzie, but Lizzie's reaction to him is definitely a little "idk what *that* was about" and she wouldn't behave the way she does if that was how he typically treated her. There's also the fact that despite his demeanor in that scene where he seems to be dismissive of her, in the next scene he shows he'd listened to her and thought about what she said.
It’s not really about pleasure or release before a risky venture that might kill him. It’s not even about Lizzie at all, or a comment on his prior (or upcoming) connection with Lizzie. A reminder to himself about being used, the way certain disadvantaged people are always used no matter what they actually want, the way he feels about being used that way. And a very strong reminder at the end when Lizzie outreaches for connection that you take the money and treat the exchange as a transaction.
Yeah, that could be part of it, though to me it doesn't feel like he's aware enough even of Lizzie's presence for this to be a kind of acting out of that dynamic on another person -- instead it's like she's not even there (and he's not there either). In some ways you wonder why he's doing it at all. One of my theories about Tommy & sex is that he uses it to get out of his own anxiety spirals/out of his head, so maybe that was what he was hoping would happen and he was just too dissociated from the fact of what he was about to do to get anything out of it but taking the edge off.
So he uses Lizzie, not cruelly or unfairly in that desk scene given she is a prostitute then: she’s his only lover that he doesn’t have to perform with. He can have terrible sex, he doesn’t have to think about her pleasure, he doesn’t have to perform or satisfy her or try to influence her.
In some ways she's also the only person he doesn't have to perform for period, he's always performing for his family, he's always performing for his enemies and for the upper classes. He can often be quite 'flat affect' with them but never quite to this extent; with Lizzie he can drop even the pretense that he's present. Which isn't great for her! But his reaction to her wanting *more* from him ('i wish just once you wouldn't pay for it like normal people' or whatever she says) could be all about the fact that what he *wants* in that moment is to not have to be anything or anyone to her or himself, he wants to *not be.*
Tangentially: I also think a lot of his behaviours with Lizzie are actually about what’s going on in himself, not about his feelings for her.
Yeah, absolutely. His first scene with her at Epsom is about this; he's too wrapped up in what he's about to do to even hear what she's saying or how she feels about it; and I don't think it has a lot to do with what he thinks about her as a person, he's just dropped into that headspace where he can't spare anything for anyone.
This Lizzie as a Tommy-distorted-mirror warps and shifts over time, but I think S2 in particular she’s almost this “sexual-tool / extension-of-himself” to be that mirror of him being used as a “killing-tool” where he has no choice, and he actively uses her that way in the sex scene and at Epsom.
That's an interesting point. To riff on it a bit I think it connects to "everyone's a whore, Grace" and to "everyone gets tired, Finn" -- I think in a wider sense Tommy's thinking is nearly always war-time, in that everyone around him is also a combatant and there are no civilians. It's the same with his brothers often, it's the same with how he has disregard for the civilians in the housing project in the season 4 shootout: this is a battlefield for him so he treats everyone else as if they're also in the battlefield situation with him.
Which... at least for Lizzie and those civilians in s4, they didn't sign up for this! He blurs the lines between how people use their bodies-as-tools, including, later, himself. I think a lot of this comes from having been a lower level officer ranked over his brothers -- to have mentally survived at some point he'd have had to detach from any personal feelings about who he's 'using' to fight these battles and how, and now he can't turn it off.
He also fully intended for Lizzie not to have to go through with it, which is important; at the same time he'd have to know there'd always be a risk of that going wrong in ways that (at that point) wouldn't be true of himself (he'd end up injured, killed, arrested rather than raped).
asking for Lizzie as a thing/a Tommy substitute -- well, he actually did do that to Lizzie at Epsom, because he couldn’t do it himself.
And it shows how he changes by s5 where he absolutely would never offer Lizzie to Moseley even if it would be strategically advantageous; instead he'll keep putting himself into the position where it's possible he'll have to do it himself, which terrifies him.

Simp (Part 2) | Wilbur Soot
A/N: Oh wow, thank you so much for all the love for the first chapter!!! It means a lot. Also, i have another fic called Happy (Sad) New Year if you’re interested in seeing. And another thing is that I might update this series weekly.
Summary: You might have a crush on Tommy’s cute tall friend with the glasses.
Pairing(s): CC!Wilbur Soot x gender neutral!reader, CC!Wilbur Soot x actor!reader.
Warning(s): None.
italics: streams
my masterlist :))
~~
After your Twitter interaction with TommyInnit, The same thing happened again, funnily enough, was with a friend of Tommy’s and fellow streamer. You recognized him from the first vlog you’ve watched of Tommy’s, the cute tall one with the glasses. Wilbur Soot was his name or at least that was what people called him. Again, your fans tagged you in various posts, moments caught from his stream. In one of those clips, he jokingly banged his fist on his desk.
“That was suppose to be me, chat! I like them first! It’s not fair. Tommy keeps rubbing it on my face.”
There was another one where he talked about when he first liked you.
“I found this soundtrack, right, chat. And it was from this movie. I searched it up, watched it and just immediately it became one of my favourite films. They played one of the characters in it and I found out they wrote a song from the soundtrack that coincidentally is my favourite.”
The thing that got you though was when he complimented your singing and writing in the song that you wrote. You remembered being scared shitless for that particular role for two reasons. One, you never sang in front of that many people before and it made you nervous. Two, although you loved writing songs—you have a journal filled with unfinished songs—you didn’t think you had the ability to write one that was vital to your character’s arc.
“They have a very good voice in my opinion, no, a great voice actually. And that specific song was quite relatable for me—I’m pouring my heart out here, chat, and here you are calling me a simp. Fine, go ahead, call me a simp. I don’t care. Maybe I am a simp. What about it, chat?”
You thought it was really sweet how he thinks of you and you couldn’t help the slight fluttering in your heart and the butterflies in your stomach when his fans tell him that he has a crush. Also his cute smile didn’t help at all with the sensation growing inside you. Honestly, you could just watch a video of him smiling over and over again.
For days, you keep thinking about him which was frustrating and exciting in some way. You felt like a teenager again, crushing on a boy that smiled at you in passing. You haven’t told anyone about it, knowing that everyone was going to tease you if they knew and would try to convince you to reach out to him. You wanted to, badly even, but life in the spotlight has its ups and downs. You don’t want the paparazzi to be crowding and violating this man’s private life just for the sole reason of trying to find out who you might be dating next.
You were scrolling down YouTube again, filling the time as you sat down in the hair and makeup trailer, when you came across a band. From experience, artists you found on YouTube most of the time was your cup of tea so you clicked on the video titled ‘Taunt’ by Lovejoy. The already enjoyable song got more enjoyable when you saw the familiar face that had been invading your mind. You eyes grew wide, your head no longer bopping, and finally that feeling in your heart returned.
“Don’t smile too much. I’m doing your powder.” One of the makeup artist spoke, moving a brush across your cheeks.
“Oh shit, sorry Sloane.” Yet, you smiled again as the video plays out.
Sloane smirked, looking at your phone screen. “Know one of ‘em? Is that why you’re smiling all of the sudden?”
“I know that tone.” You glared at the older woman beside you. “And yes, I do know one of them if you must know.”
“Which one?”
“The one with the glasses and the hat. The tall one.”
Sloane leaned closer. “He’s cute.”
“You think so?”
“Yeah, I can see why you’re into him.”
“I did not say that I like him.”
“You didn’t have to.” Sloane pointed the brush she was holding at your face. “Your smile already did.”
~~
When you realized Wilbur Soot have a band, the obvious choice was to go on a rabbit hole of listening to their entire discography. It took a few listens but their songs grew on you and eventually made their way into your various playlists—some grew annoyed listening to you repeating their songs. Now that you found a perfect opportunity to try and talk to Wilbur, the only thing that’s left was the execution. You didn’t want to make it too obvious that you’re trying to reach this guy. You could only imagine the article they would write about and you didn’t need to be ask about “a mystery guy” when doing press junkets later on.
“What are you scared of? You’re just posting about this band that you like. You’ve done it a million times.” You said, trying to calm yourself.
With one last inhale and exhale, you began typing. Your heart beating vigorously with each letter that you pressed. It was incredibly ridiculous how nervous you were. You kind of wished someone was there to give you some emotional support but alas you were alone in your trailer.
“Okay, that’s good enough, I think. Not too long, not too short. All that’s left to do is post it.”
Your thumb hovered over the button, still contemplating whether or not this was the right choice. Maybe you should’ve chosen the lowkey route. Just slide into his DM’s like many of your friends did. What if he doesn’t see it? What if he doesn’t interact with it the way his friend Tommy did? What if he turns out to be an absolute dick? The possibilities were endless.
When the waiting and the doing absolutely nothing began eating you out, you decided it’s now or never.
“Fuck it.” You closed your eyes, pressed the button and the deed was done.

Total bastard |Percy Hynes White|
Pairings: Percy Hynes White x Polish!F!Reader
Warnings: bit of cursing, stereotypes about cars, mentions of Harry Potter, let me know if I missed something. It’s shitty by the way.
Additionally: Y/N - Your name, Y/L/N - your last name, Y/F/N - your friend’s name, Y/C/B - Your car brand/car of your choosing
A/N: Hello! That’s my third writing here on Tumblr and I must apologise for the grammar! I’m Polish so English is not my first language and don’t feel too comfortable using it. I’d be very grateful for any feedback about it because I truly don’t know if it’s even comfortable for you to read 😩
———————————————————
You may be wondering how does working on Wednesday set look like and the only word that comes to my mind and describes it perfectly is MAGICAL.
That was my first - let me call it - serious job. I took part in few other productions as an intern mostly and I played a background character only once before getting the role of Wednesday’s cousin. Coming back to the topic - even though I have some experience in films and I know exactly how everything looks behind the scenes, the set of Wednesday was something totally different and new.
Maybe it’s because most of the cast was young and not too popular (not counting Jenna and some other actors of course). That was the first place where I felt like I belong there.
But I also met somebody who desperately tried to break my heart or so I understood it.
Let’s start with a quick introduction. My name is Y/N, I was born in 2000, in Poland which makes me different from my movie character all the way. I was kind of stressed about joining the cast mostly fearing that I won’t be accepted. I mean, they all have became really good friends and what if I they treat me as an intruder ?
The trip to Romania was excellent even though some turbulences happened during my flight. Firstly I was wondering about driving a car (which would take about 12 hours but I thought of taking some stops in Slovakia and Hungary). I love travelling to new places but I decided that buying flight tickets and rent a car while in Romania definitely will be a better option. I needed some way of transport and I truly hated the public communication.
I did as I said, I rented a car and was heading straight to the hotel. The atmosphere of Romanian forests was just wonderful. So mysterious yet so beautiful. I couldn’t get enough of looking at the surroundings and I took few stops on the way to take pictures of as many views as I could.
After an hour or maybe a little bit longer I finally arrived at the hotel. It was just a simple building, not too pretty nor ugly. Cozy actually. It’s totally fine though. I don’t feel too comfortable in luxury places.
“Shitty drivers.” I muttered while trying to park my car on a parking lot. I have to mention that I’m a pain in the arse if it comes to driving. I always stick to the rules and rarely try to break any which often makes other people go insane. I remember my very first time in the US. I rented a car with my friend and she was laughing her arse off almost every time I drove. The only text a remembered after coming back home was “we’re driving with a very sick Jaguar. Almost dead”. And to make it even funnier, I have been overtaken by a bicycle.
Minute of silence, please.
But coming back to my thoughts.
After seeing this one black BMW parked totally wrong, I got a clever idea. What to do to piss off its driver? I parked my car correctly so there was no option for whoever owned that black car, to get inside. Sorry not sorry. I left the car and took my luggage and just when I was heading to the building, someone called after me.
“What do you think you doing? I can’t get into my car, you daughter of the devil!”
I quickly turned around to see a young man opening the black vehicle with his automatic pilot.
“Fly then.” I said with a grin.
“May you move your shitty Y/C/B so I can leave the parking lot?” He added visibility furious.
“Shitty Y/C/B you say. Well, does your BMW have working indicators or they are to cause a huge explosion if you use them?” I asked and raised my brows at him.
Before you’ll start hating me for this I must explain something. Polish people truly hate BMW drivers. It’s not like we don’t buy those cars - we actually do and they are very popular. However seeing a BMW using indicators is something worth celebrating. Does not happen too often, tho. If you happen to see a BMW with working blinkers, you can be sure it’s police driving it.
I didn’t even wait for his response, expecting it to be rude, and just turned around again and that’s when I noticed a certain boy that was portraying Ajax in the show. He was laughing his arse off while leaning against the hotel entrance.
“Well done, whoever you are. Jake is a total shit and makes everyone go crazy with his behaviour.” He said while extending his hand to me which I gladly accepted. “Georgie Farmer, Ajax Petropolus, call me whatever you want.”
“Nice to meet you, Georgie. I’m Y/N Y/L/N. I’m going to portray Wednesday’s cousin, Verity.” I replied with a smile.
“You have a funny accent. You’re not American for sure, aren’t you? I didn’t mean to offend you, of course.” He added.
“Don’t worry about that. English is not my first language so I’m not a mistress of speaking it. The truth is I usually fail doing so.“
„Stop saying so. You speak very well. I like the Brit or Australian sounding. But what’s your nationality then?”
“I come from Poland. Not too far away from here actually which I’m pretty glad about. At least my flight wasn’t tiring.”
“Woah, is that the country which is famous from pierogis?” He gasped visibly amazed and just when I nodded, he grabbed my hand and pulled me after him inside the hotel. I started giggling like crazy. I was totally over the moon because someone seemed to like me and that felt incredible.
“So I suppose you’re pretty stressed now before meeting the rest of the cast but there’s no need to worry. We are all very friendly and really excited to meet new cast members. Some of us are also pretty insane like Percy for example or Oliver but I’m sure that you’re gonna feel comfortable around them.” He said with a pure excitement, opening one of the doors for me. ”I believe that Emma dreams about giving newbies a hotel tour just like Enid would but what about me being your guide today? She’s rambling too much while showing people around.” He said. Well, isn’t it like he was rambling too?
“As long as you keep smiling and being all excited.” I replied winking at him.
And honestly that was the best beginning of a new friendship in my whole life. We spent around an hour running around the building while he was trying to show me everything. And I mean totally EVERYTHING. He even showed me a secret underground room where he, Percy and Oliver meet from time to time to gossip about what had happened during their day. Boys.
“And so this is the last room of ours. We call it a freak day room because we spend most of our free period here. A lot is happening here everyday so don’t be scared seeing whatever is going on there right now.” He said less enthusiastically.
“I’m prepared to see the worst.” I replied giving him a reassuring nod. I could already hear laughter coming from there and I felt sick from fear. I’ve never used to be too confident, not even mentioning popular. I was just a plain, grey, unknown and the least liked person in my school years. I’ve never had real friends. All of my “friendships” usually come to an end after few months.
“Guys, guys, guys, attention please.” Georgie spoke while entering the room. All the laughter stoped and everyone looked at him at once. “Percy, may you please stop this ungodly singing?” He added. “So I want to introduce a new person to all of you and-“
“You met someone new and didn’t tell us sooner?”
“I’m sorry, Emma but I needed to give her a quick tour and talk a little bit. Whatever. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Y/N, Polish miracle with a funny accent.” Georgie chuckled pulling me into the room. I almost fell noticing all those glances.
“Hiya, nice to meet you!”
Let’s say that the very first day with the whole cast was just amazing. Everyone had a lot of questions, some simple, some weirder. We had a lot to discuss and considering the fact that the boys opened a champagne and then another and another, it resulted in a killer headache on the next day.
But it doesn’t matter.
Percy does.
Since the very first time we laid our eyes on each other, there was a sort of a weird tension between us. I felt pretty shy for no reason and he seemed to judge me. Or so I understood because I usually think that people are gossiping about me which never happens actually.
The thing is that he was acting different in my presence. For example this one time when he was listening to music and singing in a tent, he stopped immediately after I joined him and few other cast members. His face expression made me feel sorry for interrupting their fun time however was it my fault that I was just being curious about what was going on in there? Oh, ok. I’m a bit nosy but IT WAS OUR TENT and I had a full right to go in there.
The second time I felt bad was the Halloween day. Emma and I were simply preparing our costumes in our “freak day room” when Percy came. He just leaned on the doorframe with his arms crossed on his chest and was looking at what the both of us were doing. Then, he chuckled and raised his eyebrows.
“What?” I asked confused.
“Well, don’t get me wrong but wouldn’t it be just enough if you would have gone to the festival right after waking up? You know, all sleepy and messy.” He said with his characteristic grin. What was that supposed to mean?
“I was thinking about that actually.” I replied a bit upset forcing a small smile. Yeah.. He basically thought I was ugly. I can’t say I wasn’t though. At the age of 23 I had a lot of insecurities which may seem to be odd for many people.
“What are you planning to wear, Percy?” Emma asked.
“A beautiful smile and my fave hat. Enough to make all ladies gasp.” He chuckled and then left.
“He’s unbearable.”
That definitely was true. The way he laughed at me made me go insane every time. When I couldn’t hold the arrow properly, there he was, laughing his arse off. Same after all my bloopers. We also had a pretty heated argument scene one day and he couldn’t hold his laughter. I didn’t know what was going on. Was I truly this bad at acting? Not even mentioning the way he used to mock my accent and made me feel sorry that it was more British than American. Well, it’s not my fault! Polish schools ONLY teach British vocabulary and accent. It’s more familiar to all of us and additionally I used to grow up only having British or Irish idols. Who doesn’t remember One Direction for example? I was a number one fan and honestly I wouldn’t make it with my English without them. Before I met Percy I thought that the way I spoke didn’t matter but it clearly did. I truly started to have enough.
I can’t not mention the fact of being a Potterhead which was for some reason too funny for him. He used to walk around pointing at me with his fingers and go with “expelliarmus” or “abra cadabra” which wasn’t even a Harry Potter spell (and he knew that but wanted to see me explaining it to him and getting embarrassed). At this point I was truly frustrated.
“I’m so glad I have a bit more free time today. I was thinking about visiting the nearby shopping centre. What about you, Joy?” I said while eating lunch. That was the first day after a month of shooting when I was needless on the set. The most of my scenes have been recorded already and now it was only Jenna and her serie family time.
“I was there loads of times and I never get bored of going there. I will for sure keep you a company. I need to buy some stuff especially after Georgie ate almost all of my candy!” She laughed with pure happiness on her beautiful face.
“What are we doing today ladies?” Percy asked, putting his hands on Joy’s shoulders.
“We plan on escaping and doing some illegal stuff. Wanna join?” She replied with a smirk knowing just well that he definitely would accompany us if it really meant something illegal. He was overly confident and usually into rebelling.
“Does it mean few hours of shopping in cosmetic stuff which I ain’t understand? Then thanks.”
“We’re definitely planning on robbing a jewellery shop.” I said winking at him.
“Would be such a reward to have some new shiny necklaces, wouldn’t it? I bet it could ease your embarrassment after yesterdays fails on set. I really think you’re shitty sometimes.” He chuckled and made my heart shatter.
“Yeah. You’re right. So what about leaving soon, Joy? I think I’ll go to take my phone and car keys now.” I added not looking at him.
“I need to take a shower before we leave. Give me at least an hour, is that fine?” She asked smiling friendly.
“Sure. Take your time.”
As I said I went to my room and just sat there, looking at the wall. I’m shitty. That’s what he thought. How cool is that?
But no. It wasn’t what made me sob. Just not yet. The real reason of my future tears was much worse.
About a week later, just few days before Christmas, we all decided to have a lovely, friendly free period after work without caring about the job, without rehearsing, basically it was supposed to be just a chill out. Eating, doing nothing, maybe dancing a little, you know just a normal evening with friends. I was heading straight to our day room when I heard something what broke my heart into millions of pieces.
“What about you and your screen lover, artist?” Georgie laughed. Gossiping about me then. Fine. I just stood there behind the door to hear more and that was a mistake I wouldn’t make twice if I could turn back time.
“Y/N is… well, let’s say that I really couldn’t get more fantastic partner.” Percy scoffed, purest sarcasm in his voice. “I thought they’re going to hire a hot Latino chick for this role but then she came and I’m… huh. Can’t get over this. It’s a simple misunderstanding. You see, someone like her and someone like me. Not to mention that she’s one or two years above, isn’t she? Like a mama.”
“Oh yeah, I can totally agree, mate.” Olivier replied chuckling.
With that I didn’t even bother to listen to them anymore. I headed back to my room where I decided to call my bestie via FaceTime to let all of my negative emotions out. I sobbed hard for another half an hour and she was just there, looking at me and simply not talking. She was wonderful. She had no idea what happened but was waiting until my cries died, giving me some time before finally listening to the story and starting comforting me.
„Naprawdę nie wiem, co takiego mu zrobiłam.” („I literally have no clue what I’ve done to him to deserve it.”) I said, wiping the tears out of my face.
„Moje biedactwo. A przedstawiają go jako aniołka. Posłuchaj, siostra. Może i traktuje cię w taki a nie inny sposób, ale czemu to ma dla ciebie takie znaczenie?”
(„Poor little thing. Can’t believe he’s portrayed as such an angelic person. Listen to me, sis. He may be treating you like this but why does it actually matter to you?”) Y/F/N replied but just after that we heard my door being opened. I didn’t turn myself in the sound’s direction because I could clearly see in my phone screen who entered my room.
Percy himself.
But what the fuck did he want? I decided to stay unbothered and show no emotions at all. At last I didn’t want him to know that I was eavesdropping. Happily he does not know my mother language so it wasn’t too difficult to continue my conversation without his suspiciousness.
“Wiesz… Podłapałam małego crusha na tym dzieciaku. Nie wiem czemu. Zazwyczaj zachowuje się jakby się naćpał, ale jest dość uroczy i…”
(„You know… I might have fallen for him a bit. I know it’s ridiculous but he’s usually acting high like shit but he’s cute at the same time…”) I replied and saw a clear disbelief in my bestie’s face expression.
“On ci rujnuje samopoczucie z dnia na dzień coraz mocniej, a ty się w nim zakochujesz. Powinnaś się przebadać.”
(„Can’t believe it. He’s making your self confidence fall more and more everyday and you’re just casually falling in love. You should go and see the doctor real quick.”) She added visibly angry.
As we continued discussing this and that, I felt a movement on my bed. Percy sat cross legged behind me with a faint smile on his face which made me truly uncomfortable.
“Jak on w ogóle może tak o, wparować do twojego pokoju i gościć się w nim jak u siebie? Zwłaszcza po tym co powiedział.”
(„It’s so bold that he’s able just come to your room like nothing happened and simply feel like he’s being at his own place. Especially after what he said.”) Y/F/N said looking him straight in the eye. “Wydaje mi się, czy zaraz rzuci na mnie klątwę? Może Avada Kedavra?” (“Is he trying to hex me right now? Or maybe he’s planning on using Avada Kedavra?”)
„Możemy zmienić temat?”
(“May we stop talking about him?”) I asked with a forced smile.
But then I felt a very delicate tapping on my shoulder so I finally turned around to face Percy.
“You didn’t join us. Something’s wrong?
Yes, Percy. Yes. You happened.
“Powiedz mu co o nim myślisz i daj znać jak poszło.”
(“Tell him what you think about him and let me know how it went.”) My bestie added before ending the call.
“I don’t feel too well today so I just decided to stay here and spend some time alone.”
“Come on, sweet things, I know you’re lying.”
What did you call me?
“No idea what you’re talking about. I have a right to feel bad”.
“Something is clearly bothering you”.
How come that he was able to read my mind?
“Well maybe you wouldn’t need to worry about such a shitty thing if I was a hot Latino chick.” I retorted not daring to look him in the eyes. It took him off guard immediately.
“Wait, what?” He asked confused and then his face dropped. “Y/N, have you heard what I said down there in our day room?”
“Obviously. Look, I’m sorry that I got the role and you have to look at my Polish shitty face. I wish I looked different but I can’t. Also sorry for being shitty on set. And additionally I’m sorry for talking the way I do and I’m extremely sorry for liking what I like. I-“ I was cut.
“It’s a misunderstanding, sweet things. Let me explain, please.” He pleaded taking my hand into his and I just nodded. “I didn’t mean anything bad by saying all that stuff earlier. It might have sounded bad or so but I am very happy to have an honour of working with you. What I said about your acting was just a way to tease you. I like when you get flustered. I’m not laughing at the way you sound. I find it extremely attractive. I have a weakness for girls speaking languages and changing accents. Harry Potter is absolutely fine and I like it too. I mean, I like it a lot and even have a Dark Wand somewhere at my house. And what I said today… Sweet things, it was all positive. You see, I truly couldn’t get any better person to portray my lover. You’re just perfect doing your job. I also didn’t mean anything - I swear - anything bad talking about you and I feel like I wouldn’t be enough for you. So that’s why I told that someone like me couldn’t be with someone like you. You’re just much more mesmerising and too good to ever be mine. I’m so sorry about making you feel bad all this time.” He added with a pure sadness in his eyes.
This time I was taken aback.
“Wait, does it mean that-“
“I like you and truly wish we could start all over again. If you want of course. I get it if you don’t feel like being with someone younger.”
“You know that the age doesn’t really matter?”
“So is that a yes?”
“It doesn’t hurt to try though. But don’t you dare calling me “mama”. Like ever again.”
“Of course not. Never.”
Yeah, he was absolutely going to call me that. Seeing his little grin made me realise he’s not the one to trust at all.

intermission. I'm having so many thoughts but not in the mind to articulate them
edit: it is no longer intermission. in fact I am back at the hotel room sprawled over the bed and kicking my legs in the air like a little girl. but I refuse to start this list over!
first of all, german really isn't the language for the musical, but they absolutely did the best they could with what they had
with that out of the way, let's get into my scattered stream of consciousness!
the lams is blatant and almost ridiculous. the guy playing Laurens only auditioned for the role so he could make it as gay as possible and I am CERTAIN of that. the homosexual gazing in the first song...... the fucking WAY the other guys and Laurens were whispering to each other when Hamilton first started going off and then Laurens stumbled over as if he was working up the nerve to ask him out. THEY KEEP GRABBING EACH OTHER'S NAPES??? IT LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE ACTUALLY GOING TO KISS DURING MY SHOT. HELLO
when Washington first showed up on stage I immediately went "YES DADDY" and I am not sorry!
speaking of Washington tho, he doesn't quite have the presence for me at some points. he's not as intense or consistent as Chris Jackson, but Hamilton and him are so very cute so I'll take it!
Hamilton is. SO endearing. I love him so much oh my god he's such a sweet boy he deserves the world. the actor is playing him so much younger than lmm did. he's so GENUINE. with lmm there was always this underlying weariness, he was weathered and snippy and waging a constant battle, but this one??? baby boy. such a little guy. absolute sweetheart
at the end of Aaron Burr, Sir instead of "who's that kid, what's he gonna do" they say. "what's the little one doing". can you hear me weeping
a lot of the jokes are lost or just don't hit. sad!
in helpless not only did Washington fix Hamilton's cravat,,,,, Hamilton showed him his ring all excited and then Washington PATTED HIS ELBOW as he was walking away. I'll never emotionally recover from this
also Laurens hands him the ring. they did make homosexual eye contact then. #lgbtq
when Hamilton asks for Eliza's hand, her father doesn't say "be true", he says "na gut". which is basically like saying "k". sir 😭
one thing that annoyed me a bit was that they used a lot of the formal "you". let them use the casual "you". come on :(
AT ONE POINT KING GEORGE LITERALLY SAID "LOVE WINS". GAY RIGHTS
every time Washington would have said "young man" he says "my son" instead. 5 dead 21 injured
instead of "at the right hand of the father" Burr says "in the lap of the father" and I?????
In Guns And Ships when Hamilton is leaving to rejoin the army he kisses Eliza and then :( he kisses her belly :( just kill me on the spot
oh at the end of Meet Me Inside when Hamilton screams in Washington's face he immediately ducks his head and WHIMPERS? he sounds like he's about to cry!!!! baby boy :(
Hamilton and Laurens are constantly roughhousing. constantly in each other's faces. it is very lgbt
this fucking shredded me. they changed mom/daddy/pa/pops whatever to the german Mama and Papa. not only does Jefferson say "quick, run to Papa" to Hamilton instead of "daddy's calling", this ALSO means that Philip burst into his father's office yelling "Papa if you'd HEARD the shit he said about you". you don't know real pain until you watch Philip die and hear that boy go "Mama". eternal suffering
Burr was good. I liked him! (yes that's all I have to say about him lmao)
my favourite performer was either Eliza or Angelica. they blew it out of the water
I am saddened to report that making out on stage occurred yet again! the people losing their shit over lmm maybe kissing with tongue during Say No To This would have died. I saw. tongues. I SAW them
some songs really do not work in german. the Schuyler Sisters is usually a favourite of mine but oh man does it sound rough. I didn't really understand the lyrics in Helpless but I still liked it because it's Helpless. some translation choices were wild and it took me out of it for a moment! BUT I'm very pleased to say that one line in Alexander Hamilton I was annoyed about, which was "and I simply shot him" instead of "I'm the damn fool that shot him" was changed to "I was his friend and I shot him". better!
"I'm not throwing away my shot" became "I only have one shot" and honestly I can't say I'm too mad about it at this point
"rise up" became "frei sein" ("to be free") which was a bit. ngl. cringe at times haha
Dear Theodosia hit me straight in the nutsack. I was borderline weeping over it. both Hamilton and Burr were so good in that, the text was very well translated, and oh boy does it hit different to hear that in my mother tongue. shit girls my issues came THROUGH on that one
Satisfied might have been my favourite translation out of the whole musical. god was that good. it had slightly different vibes from the original, but that made it so interesting. the imagery used was impeccable, Angelica's actress was AMAZING, and it's just. jesus fuck I'm probably coming back to that later on. genuinely that version made me tear up it was so good
honestly I would say the performers carried the whole thing. they made it work!
that's all for now folks! rest assured, I'll let y'all know if I think of anything else, but yeah! initial impressions and all that :)
#lots of thoughts lots of feelings lots of opinions#i'm glad i saw it in london first but i'm also very glad i saw this one#hamilton#hamilton hamburg#damn i'm beat

Hey, so you probably already made posts about this and I just don't remember, but what's Blood Moon like in your actor AU? Their personality, their relationships with the others, what they think of their role, etc?
I actually haven't talked about it before other then very briefly, but I'd love to share! :D
They still share a body but the two personality thing is highly played up. So their personalities are similar to the ones shown in the show, but they don't have the blood lust and are a bit tamer on the murder happy aspect. The one with the voice closer to Monty is still impulsive and emotionally charged but not as unhinged, he's just as smart as his brother- he's just more emotional. Meanwhile the rhyming one is more quiet but not sadistic like his character. Though he does still speak in rhyme; That's just something he does for fun.
They really enjoy the role because it gives them the chance to act like crazy unhinged bastards without being told to settle the fuck down. It's basically being given a "Go fucking crazy little man" pass and they are happy to take it.
They slot nicely into the middle child role when it comes to Eclipse and Lunar. Eclipse is the oldest, they're the mild children, and Lunar is the youngest.
As for relationships...
Eclipse: They actually get along really well with Eclipse, though in that combative gremlin brother way. They wrestle a lot. It made filming the fight scene easier because they roughhouse all the time! The noises that played when Moon was in the room during the fight were the actual noises from them roughhousing with some added sound effects. Of course they'd never actually hurt him, but it was fun fucking with him. They're a bit of the rival sibling type, which made the role that much more fun to play! ^^
Lunar: Blood Moon has a good relationship with their little brother as well, though they do tease him... a lot XD. They just find it so cute to see his grumpy little poutting face! They have an absurd amount of nicknames for him, though the two of them use different types. The wilder one uses more simple and slightly cruder nicknames that probably reference inside jokes and or embarrassing events. Lunar got a paint bucket stuck on his head because he ran into the latter while playing on the switch so sometimes he calls him 'bucket head' and is more then eager to explain why if asked. Meanwhile the rhyming one uses more soft albeit... weird nicknames. Like giving him a nickname based on some obscure type of grass. They're also just as protective of him as Eclipse is, though are more likely to act before and think later.
Sun and Moon don't know Bloody well, as they only recently met when he got included in the show. They're a bit eccentric but gradually they've started to get used to them and their weird quirks. They get along a bit better with Moon then they do Sun, just because of shared interests and because they share that familiar bastard energy, but they do make an effort to get to know Sun too.
Bonus: Neither of their brothers are safe from tickles, though the two personalities have slight preferences over who they really like tickling. The more feral one likes to tickle Eclipse, because he doesn't have to be gentle and can just wreck his shit while cackling maniacally. Seeing Eclipse embarrassed afterwards is always insanely rewarding. The rhyming one likes to tickle Lunar because of how reactive and wiggly he is. He gets tired out far quicker then Eclipse, but that's fine- it's worth it to see his reactions to both the tickles and being teased mercilessly. They like to team up with Eclipse to tickle Lunar into a hysterical puddle.
There are some aspects of their role they don't like, though. The more feral one gets tired of screaming nonstop often, as most people would. The rhyming one doesn't appreciate the screaming much either, considering it's probably just as loud if not louder to the person sharing the body with him. The rhyming one sometimes has issues with keeping his input equal with his brother as in reality he's not as talkative, nor as sadistic so getting into that "murdery fun" mindset can be a bit challenging depending on his mood.
And.. they also don't really like scaring or hurting their siblings. :( Insulting Lunar feels almost illegal, and seeing Eclipse act so shitty also feels weird. Sometimes the rhymer has to remind the feral one that it's a show so that he doesn't throw Eclipse when he comes into range for being a dick to their little sibling. Lunar finds it funny that both of his siblings get so upset from seeing him act distraught that they end up dragging him into the blanket pit after filming. (It was a pile before, but Bloody made it a pit)
