What are your theories for the next episode? That doesn't include l34ks please haha. Mine: 1) There is going to be a slow dance at some point and someone is going to sing Crazier from Hannah Montana. 2) The little women prophecy has changed me LOL nah but maybe a little reference: R is sad and someone asks him why and he says "I just can't believe summer is over" (in lw is childhood) 3) Ricky confession at the end of the ep and rina fight finger crossed I want angst. 4) PW breakup from EJ side.

Ok so I literally only know of two ACTUAL leaks, everything else in my mind is hypothetical, so just know anything I state here I am not sure will actually happen. I’ll keep the leaks I’ve seen out of it :) (everything else is either coming from promos or my own big brain)

I love your prediction though! Thank you so much for sharing! :) it is so fun hypothesizing what is going to happen and I definitely think you’ve got a couple that have a lot of potential to happen.

I stated in an ask about 3 before this one (so go to my page if you’d like to see more because it was a wee bit of a long response 😅) that I believe P*W is bones by the end of this season. TL;DR: the fireworks were a metaphor for the chemistry being gone. If the chemistry is gone, there is no excuse, no apology, anything that will redeem a ship. That is something that can’t be contrived or created out of thin air. It has to be natural. I think it’ll probably be more from Gina’s side, but I don’t think EJ will fight it that much.

I am going to make a little trilogy for Prom night because I think there will be 3 key features after Portwell breaks up. First, I think Ricky is going to try and get that tape one last time. But this time he will be asked why it is SO important gina doesn’t see the tape. That’s when the chocolate truthers (unfortunately I am one) win. Because that is when we get the flashback of him bringing the chocolates but denied doing it because he was in a relationship and knew it would look bad after their convo about big gestures. He’s actually told yes. If he wants the part cut out, he can have it. He just needs to say the word.

Second, from Promos we know Jojo Siwa is going to be there. I think she is going to be Maddison. I agree with a lot of people on tumblr that Ricky’s “big plan” is to bring her back to heal Jet and Maddox’s relationship. I think Gina will see them and wonder why Maddox has a date but EJ said they couldn’t (because she’s been there just as long). We’ll get some sad Gina for a sec as she scans the room. Then it could go one of two ways 1) they have a projector or 2) there are some fireworks that didn’t get lit off the night before. Gina is going to see Ricky looking at his bucket list and then look up and make eye contact with her across the room. As SOON as they make eye contact someone will either push a button or light the fireworks and that’s how she’ll know.

And third, I think when Ricky is looking at his bucket list (before eye contact with Gina) he sees “do something that scares him” as the last item to get marked off. He looks up to see her while also being sad boy hours because he can’t finish it. Then he notices that Gina is not only looking at him but she’s crying. He walks over and asks if she’s ok. She tells him that she and EJ broke up and that she is really scared about where to go from there. The word “scared” makes him perk up. Last scene of episode 8, we see the kids all gathered around watching the doc, and Gina sees the part where Ricky confesses (because he decided to leave the part in). You see her look at the screen, then turn around and look at him, he nods to her like he’s saying “yes”, she turns back around and we can’t really read the emotion on her face besides shock and confusion. We then see Ricky cross off the last item on his bucket list. Credits role. (There is something else that COULD happen here but it might have been a leak so I won’t say it, but it would possibly change the timing of when this scene would come on the show).

I think we will see Ashlyn tell Maddox her discovery with Val and a cute “told you so” moment from Maddox. And then an “oh crap what about big red” from Ashlyn

I also think we won’t see any of the actual play of frozen

I think we will see Ricky talk about how loved he feels on his birthday from his friends (+ some emphasis about how he hasn’t felt that way in awhile… hinting to his parents separation)

Hi!! It really is so wonderful to have found someone that LOVES this drama like I do. I watched it in July 2021 and was immediately hooked!! The story, the couple, the actors, the imagery.... oh and the coats!!! I was sad that I missed out on all of the live chat while it was airing but I'm glad that I got to experience TKEM on my own. I did not sleep that night and went to work the next day full of questions and theories. Wondering how in all the worlds where LG and JTE going to stay together ( because that was the only right ending in my mind). The tears I cried during the last episodes.... 😢🤧. I am not at all shy about saying I watched this drama again immediately after the first watch. The Swoon clips where on constant repeat over on YouTube that everyone at home knew exactly what i was squealing over. I can't express how happy I was in finding your stories. I had a huge craving for all things TKEM and you helped fill them!!! I am constantly on the look out for new stories of these two love birds. This drama will always hold a special place in my heart!!

I do have a question: Was there ever any idea/theory as to why LG and JTE where last seen in the time period that was shown?? Was there some significance?

Hi! I was hooked on the same things you were and I'm so thankful that even after two years, there are still folks still loving, talking and thinking about this wonderful series. I was actually laughing this morning because I saw a Netflix notification urging me to rewatch TKEM, like I need a reminder. I had jumped on the last episode last night to check something and finished the ep so Netflix thinks I'm done watching. NEVER! LOL!

Anyway, your question is quite intriguing. I have to admit, I never really thought much about it before. That's why I was watching ep 16 last night, to remind myself of the details beyond LG and JTE. I did remember the name of the movie on the poster, "Barefooted Youth," and I had looked up the synopsis before (rather tragic, very much in the "Romeo and Juliet" vein). It came out in 1964. But a quick look at Korean history shows no big events during that year. The Korean war ended a full decade before.

If this is the past in Tae Eul's world (i.e. our world), I can see Gon being very interested in the history. After all, this is something the kingdom never had to go through. And I can see Tae Eul being fascinated as well.

Maybe the TKEM novel offers more details but I haven't come across a translation of the final chapters.

Another reason for that time period could be as simple as the availability of such a location for filming. That final scene was filmed at the Nonsan Sunshine Land, a cultural complex that includes two studios: the 1950 Studio, which is very likely where Gon and Tae Eul were seen walking, and the Sunshine Studio, where the drama "Mr. Sunshine" was filmed.

This is the information from a site called Koreaby Me: "The 1950 Studio is based on the 1950s after the Korean war. It is not as huge as the Sunshine Studio however, there’s a lot to see such as carpenter shop, barbershop, restaurant, bars, pharmacy, bank, theater, school, etc. It is also known as 1950s Seoul Street. The whole studio site still has traces of war and it is really fun to look around as they provide an interesting place to see the historic charm and a glimpse of Seoul during the Korean War. This place offers visitors a trip to the past in the 1950s."

Does Run ep 119 fall into the period of Jikook's romantic separation/distancing you talked about? By hairstyles I think this is the time you marked as being 'not a couple'? Did I get the timelines right? Please dont get mad, but they seemed especially cozy+close this ep, and not just skinship (I know this is a subjective judgement and dif points of view are allowed). Just curious if you still hold to your theory? We see only tiny snapshots of time. Do you ever retrospectively change your mind?

First of all, it's not so much that questions like these irk me...

It's just I've never had to worry about being 'right' or 'wrong' in forming an opinion about anything or on any topic in my life.

I think the night is more beautiful than the day. I think both Trump and Biden are trash- but better Biden than Trump. I think formal education is a damn waste of time and money. I think a lot of things. But I've never had to worry about that I could be right or wrong about them.

I never assume, when I read people's opinions too, that they are right or wrong. I either tend to agree with it or disagree with it or get informed by it if I had zero opinion prior. I find it bizarre when people want to be right and stuff- especially in a community that is nothing but a swirling vortex of thoughts and opinions. Lmho.

You either defend your stand and give evidence to support it but even then we are just all making assumptions.

Also questions like these tend to put me in a position where I feel like if I should respond then I am not only 'defending' my opinions but challenging other's opinions with my opinions and treating my opinions as if they were the facts. But they are not. It's just one opinion against another.

Know what I mean?

I used to be comfortable doing that because I thought it was all friendly debates and discourse until someone drew my attention to it and pointed out to me that when I do that I come across as 'all knowy,' 'presenting my opinions as facts' and 'challenging other's opinions with my opinion'- which y'all are well aware is the case that has launched a thousand hate comments, privacy invasion, doxing, lies and operation boycott Goldy on ship street.

I don't think it's worth it.

Then there is the substantive issue: how these questions are framed. How should I put this...

I never said anywhere that Jikook were broken up during the On era because they were not acting 'cozy'. Who's theory is that? Who said that? I've never peddled the 'Jikook is real because of skinship or their interactions' theory. If anything, I try to distinguish between Jikook's couple moments and their skinship or mere interactions because neither of those two make Jikook real... to me.

If Jikook showing skinship and merely interacting with eachother to you is a determining factor as to whether they are real- it's not, to me. I've made this much clear over the course of my blogs. If it's your metric then it differs from mine and I can't 'challenge' it. Lol.

I have said, Jikook can interact zero in a content and I still could be able to tell if they are a couple.

Similarly, two people can grind on eachother and stick their tongues down eachother's throats and I still will be able to tell they are not a couple within the same group if they are not.

Am I wrong sometimes? Absolutely. Hell, I said JK was going to post for Jimin's birthday. He didn't. I got that wrong.

I do retrospectively change my mind on a lot of things. If say, in the future, Jimin announced he has a kid and is married to a het woman I would backpedal on my theory that Jikook is real. I don't think it's that deep.

If at any one point, I have reason to believe Jikook aren't together any more as a couple within BTS, or that one of them is straight, I would change my opinion about them being in a gay relationship with eachother.

Similarly, if I have reason to believe Jikook have broken up or distanced themselves from eachother at one point, I would say so and not run around the internet yelling Jikook gay, Jikook married.

There are moments, when I thought Jikook were together but they weren't and so I had to change my mind in retrospect too.

It seems to me, that to y'all, as long as I'm saying Jikook are together then I'm right and it's Amen preach but if I say I think they are or were not together at a point in their relationship then suddenly it's, she is a Trump supporter spreading lies about Jikook and dancing in the rain with convicted serial killers while trying to pass off her published work as Jikook fanfiction. It's all very interesting how some people's minds work...

For the record, I said Jikook were broken up within that period because they were not claiming eachother, reassuring eachother, exercising rights of claim and authority, speaking eachothers love language and all the other metrics I have time and again pointed out several times across my posts that they are the qualities that to me make Jikook a couple.

So do you see why I feel some kind of way when people come at me with the, 'they stared at eachother' 'they smiled at eachther' they touched eachother' argument? Y'all must have me confused a certain shipper on the block. Lol.

You tell me they look cozy and intimate, but then I go and check and they are still not claiming eachother or exhibiting any of the qualities that makes them a couple. Lol.

If I say Jikook is in a relationship, it's usually because I have reasons to believe they are in a relationship. If I say Jikook are not together, it's also because I have reasons to believe they are not together. It's really not hard maths.

I forego a lot of sleep to ensure I share my thought process on a lot of my theories and opinions. I have shared across several posts why I believe Jikook is real. I have shared a few of the metrics I use to decide on that opinion and I have shared my thought process on why I believe in certain moments they aren't together.

It's exhausting when I have to repeat that process each time because then it's not about you asking for my opinion on the topic anymore because I've already stated that, it's about you asking me to change my opinion on a topic based on your assessment and your metric and it just doesn't work that way.

Your assertion that Run 119 was filmed in the same era as On is valid I guess... but I have to disagree. I can't tell you exactly when that episode was filmed but if I had to share my two cents on it, I'd have to place it towards the middle of April this year or somewhere around that period. In my opinion.

I say that because Jimin debuted his jet black hair around 14th April when he appeared in a Vlive with RM. Again I do not know exactly when he got his hair changed but as of March 26th, he had blondish hair.

In his March 30th Vlive- the one where JK interrupted Jin's call, he had a cap on so chilee I'm not gonna argue on whether he had dyed his hair at that point or not.

Then there is Suga, who has blonde hair in this Run 119 episode. He had blonde hair from his birthday in early March and tweeted a bunch of photos of himself in blonde hair from March through to April 28th.

Yet in the JinMinGi Vlive on April 27th when Jimin still had jet black hair, Suga seemed to have a jet black hair too. Which means he could have had blonde hair around the time Jimin went black in early April and dyed it black in late April- but that's theory and that's just my assumption. We can know for sure if and when knew content is released which was filmed around that period.

Thus, I doubt if it was filmed during On era like episode 116 and 117- where you could see clearly, Jikook were having issues.

Just because a peice of content is released in succession don't mean they were filmed around the same period...

So yes I agree with you, we only see snapshots of their time and most importantly we see them in DISORDER. BigHit doesn't release content in chronological order as per when they film them- something I keep reiterating throughout my blogs.

And just as a tip for when you want to reconstruct the timeline for accuracy based on their hairstyles, I think you should look to their Live contents and not their prerecorded content. Their VLives and Youtube lives- actual lives not the prerecorded ones passed off as live streams lol, or even their live reactions to when they win awards or do interviews etc.

I think those are a somewhat accurate reflection of the timeline and helps fit contents in their right time period. But even that- it's still 60/40. But that's me. Feel free to use your own metric to access the timeline.

And the part about them seeming cozy within- On Era, I assume? Because that's when I speculated they had a break up?

I wasn't going to address it because it requires me to provide a comprehensive reconstruction of the timeline but I can't do that until a few more years from now when BigHit has released all or most of the content they have on that period.

I'm just gonna have to repeat myself, for the n>th time though and be intentionally vague about it lol - I had decided not to talk about that period again but I have to just because you make it sound like I would go full on frying pan wielding JK on your ass, step for step, for pointing out that Jikook seemed cozy and intimate within that speculated breakup period. Chilee, I'm not a villain. Lol.

I will not whoop your ass for saying that- but you'd have to answer a seven page query if you are an avid reader of my blogs, so clear your schedule. It's gonna be a long day. Lol.

Query: How do you expect Jikook to look like and behave if and when they are not together together?

I keep saying, at the bare minimum, Jikook are friends not enemies. You don't expect them to act like they never knew eachother during such times. But it takes a while for them to settle into that space when they both feel comfortable with being friends and during such period is when you notice them putting up emotional boundaries and distance between them.

Maybe its just because I saw Jikook as friends and got used to them as friends before lovers and so spotting when they are acting as friends comes easy to me? I don't know.

I think it's similar to how people who are used to seeing Jikook as friends can't seem to see past their friendship to seeing them as a couple.

Then there are those who've only known Jikook to be a couple or saw them as a couple first upon entering the fandom and so can't seem to see them as friends or even think of them as friends. It can be a trip for such people. Which one are you?

If you see Jikook as lovers all the time, really I don't. And I don't need the tensions and the silences to sense something is off. JK unable to check RM or anyone within the group when they are crossing boundaries with Jimin is enough tell.

Same way I don't need to the skinship and 'cosy' to tell if they are together. Jk putting up emotional distance with certain members within the group- all but Jimin, is enough evidence for me.

We don't have to all see Jikook through the same lens to enjoy them. And we don't have to agree on everything too.

We are different people, with different backgrounds and experiences. We can't think the same or perceive on things the same.

I keep saying, to me, there is a quality to Jikook that makes them more than friends. If I see those qualities in them, I believe they are a couple. If not, they are not. Those are the qualities I see only between Jikook and what set them apart from the other ships in BTS.

I see their friendship and I also see their other stuff.

And I notice, during certain periods that they lose that quality that makes them couples- for them to be a couple they need to be speaking eachothers love language, exercising certain rights and privileges over each other, claiming eachother, reassuring eachother yadda yadda yadda and a whole others that don't include them merely talking to eachother or engaging in skinship.

When I talk about Jikook On Era break up period, I'm talking about the period from the 21st to 28th February this year- or the period right before it.

Thats the period I noticed a drastic change in Jikook's interactions and even their personalities. It gave me the feeling that jikook had been through something heavy prior to that date. That period seemed more like the aftermath of a break up rather than the beginning of it as there seemed to be a drastic flip in their dynamics compared to any era before that. Especially late December or around the period when they filmed Carpool Karaoke.

They weren't doing any of the things I've mentioned above that to me make them a couple- they were just interacting and pretty much being civil- except for JK. He seemed more angry, less tolerant and very assertive against Jimin and the group.

He was being super self assertive and was asserting himself even against Jimin- something he has been doing a lot this year which I keep talking about.

Jimin didn't seem different to me at all to me in that period until April.

Why do I feel you are forcing me to talk about something I don't want to talk about? Lol.

I mark that period as significant not only because of the changes that took place in Jikook's dynamics but because it marks the genesis of the JK we are experiencing today.

Their interactions within that period were reflective of a consistent pattern of behavior they've exhibited around periods when they are not together- JK putting up boundaries, not claiming JM, JM trying to reconnect etc.

For instance, at Music Bank on the 28th of February, Jimin did that thing with Jin when he noticed JK interacting with Tae but JK didn't mind him or claim.

Contrast that with their moment on the 1st March, at Inkigayo, where JK literally teleported his ass to stand behind JM when he noticed JM had started his shenanigans on the stage.

Jikook started claiming eachother and acting as a couple again from then- they started reassuring eachother and doing all these things that to me mark them as a couple. Again, this is only an assumption, I don't have the comprehensive breakdown of the period- yet because there are new contents being released on a daily.

On 6th March, during Music Bank when Hobi hugged Jimin during their interview JK reacted strongly to that too in my opinion.

On 30th March, JK interrupted Jin's call to flirt and ask JM on a date- you could see them acting as a couple from that moment at Inkigayo on 1st March throughout to 30th March and their interactions were consistent.

Their interactions in the period before that was pretty much inconsistent and filled with a lot of Jump cuts- which I'm hoping future contents will help fill the gaps for me so I can build a comprehensive breakdown of that era- at least for my self. Iol.

It's just the way Jikook usually behave after these period. They go through a reconnection phase, where they constantly try reassure eachother and then eventually end up in a honey moon phase of a sort where you'd see them flirting up and down the hills, acting super touchy, hitting the red marks- making us and the others feel weird and super uncomfortable watching them.

It's also important to note that around the period of them reconnecting, JK had started distancing himself from Tae. He puts up emotional boundaries with the others and closes himself off to them when he opens himself up to Jimin.

I mean if I'm 'wrong,' and I'm not saying I'm right, I'm just saying if I'm wrong because of your two seconds clip of them acting 'cozy,' then I gotta ask what happened to JK in this period? Why was he putting up boundaries between him and Jimin in that period, and what set him on this self assertive path he's been on throughout this year- think about that while I hold on to my he went through a nasty breakup and had an emotional trauma that pushed him on a path to reevaluate and set his priorities straight theory. Lol

I think some of the content they have released so far within that period were filmed either closer to or far from when that break up happened- Run 116 and 117 would be the closest to that period so far- I just don't know if it was before 21st February or after it.

Run 100 and 101 would also have been filmed relatively closer to that period or immediately after it because Jimin was behaving in those Runs the same way he was behaving during the On Comeback Special VLive which was released on 21st of February- I feel the breakup would happened before this date.

In both those Runs and the On comeback special, Jimin seemed beat, humbled and subdued. He was trying to establish eye contact with JK during the comeback VLive, egging him on to talk about his looks, and putting boundaries between him and the other members. He seemed to be on his best behavior.

For instance, in the Comback he seemed like he was walking on eggshells around Kookie and didn't want to create the impression he was going out of his way to flirt with the others or portray himself as available and so when Suga touched his waist or back, he asked him to stop.

Similary, in Runs 100/101 behind scenes or something, when they were eating and he noticed Tae had food residue on his lips, he tried to help him clean it but panicked and stopped the moment he sensedJK lifting his head up- it seemed he didn't want to piss JK off in those two instances. JK for the most part just seemed serious and less tolerant of JM's bs within that period.

Juxtapose JM's behavior in these two instances with the events at Music Bank and Inkigayo where he was hugging Jin and acting extra around Kook- which to me seemed like he was looking for reassurance by trying to get JK to claim him but of course JK didn't do that.

Jimin likes being reassured by JK when he is feeling 'insecure.' And often, JK reassures him when he notices JM going through that. Jimin does the same for JK.

They are intune with eachother's emotional needs and they consciously go out of their way to meet them.

Take the recent MAMA speech moment when JM was giving a speech and he seemed like he need support- emotional support and back up. Jk turn fully and instantly towards him to let him know he was there for him. We've seen Jikook do this a countless times. I value these moments over them showing skinship or screaming eachother's names.

In the recent BE press conference red carpet moment when JM tried it with RM- did you notice JK's reaction? They both seemed like they were trying to piss eachother other off or make each eachother jealous during that red carpet moment.

JM with RM and JK with Jin. JK grabbed Jin's neck when he noticed JM intentionally acting all up close and friendly with his buddy buddy RM and the frown on his face. He didn't seem too amused with JM doing that...

- it's weird, I know, but it's also their way of reassuring eachother and expressing interest in eachother. Don't judge. It's Jikook- just look away, keep it pushing. Nothing to see here. Lol.

Had it not been for the live events around that On period, I probably wouldn't have noticed these things because the content from BigHit around the period were only showing glimpses of their interactions which again seemed like the aftermath of their breakup and not the start of it.

I think their ability to get to that space where they are each comfortable with relating freely and 'cozy' around eachother as friends depends on how soon they interact on cameras after they've gone through such periods.

If they film immediately soon after, or during, often the tension between them is much more evident like in run 116 and 117.

If they film much later from it, then you wouldn't even notice a damn thing at all. In my opinion. Especially, if you don't know the difference between Jikook as friends and Jikook as lovers.

You can never tell though if you focus solely on Jimin's behavior during such periods- because Jimin is just that guy. He doesn't bring the drama to work. He will smile sunshine through the pain and act like nothing happened. For JK it's different, in my opinion.

Jimin has a very high emotional intelligence quotient and seems to process emotions better and faster. JK is not like that. It is why I feel, he tends to put up physical and emotional barriers with Jimin and with the others sometimes when he is going through it.

They all process emotions at different paces. In my opinion.

I'm starting to wonder if y'all think Jikook is one sided at this point. Lol. Jikook is not one sided. Jimin is not the only one in their relationship. You can't focus on him alone to decide if your ship is sailing or in a good place- because guess what? Jimin can put up a show of it.

It's just as how Tuktukkers tend to focus on Tae rather than JK in determining whether they still have a ship or not. If they paid attention to JK for one minute, they would know their ship got lost at sea at debut.

I keep saying JM's 'the boy in love with Jungkook' persona is a facade. He loves JK through this facade but you have to look past it. I mean this is the guy who told Jin JK doesn't act a certain way around him, but backpedaled and said he was just 'saying it for content' when Jin called him out on it. Same guy Jk says, he intentionally acts cutes when he notices the cameras on him.

You gotta wonder what else he does just for content and for the cameras. Isn't this why people claim Jikook is fanservice?

You have to pay attention to JK too you know? They have different personalities, different ways of handling issues, different ways of loving and different ways of solving problems.

Jimin over expresses himself and tries to establish contact when he is at the recieving end of a freeze out. He did the same thing on stage with JK during Manila when he tried to have a conversation with Kook- to squash whatever issues they had been having but JK needed his space physically and emotionally.

Jimin was sat next to Suga chatting with him, asking him questions, laughing with him but the moment Suga touched him he snapped. He did the same thing in Dynamite MV reaction VLive when JK teased him with Suga. He snapped almost instantly and didn't seem happy with it- he doesn't want to be shipped with Suga and yet he is the one constantly going 'I miss Suga hyung' 'Suga and I are the parents and JK is the son"

In run 116, you could see him trying to interact with Kook even when Kook was clearly putting up boundaries with him. Had Kook not been closed off to him in that moment, we probably would never have noticed anything was off with them honestly.

And that hug JM gave Kook in the end, did you see him looking sideways as if he was doing something wrong? Compare that moment with the Siriux FM interview where he had his hands around Kook. He didn't seem- what's the word, scared.

And by the way, that moment was also filmed on the 21st of February in the US, the same day of their Rockefeller interview and the same day the On Comeback Special VLive was released- so do the maths? Was that the start of a break up or the aftermath of it?

Jimin was leaning forward in that period true, but was JK receiving and reciprocating his actions and matching them throughout that period? No. Or may be its debatable- you tell me. Lol.

Jikook behave in a certain way and give off a certain vibe when they are good and sailing- but not all such moments is because they are a couple. In my opinion.

When they get to that good space where they can be comfortable around each other, they sail as friends too.

It's just like, when they are not good and they give off bad vibes. But not all the bad vibes they give off is because they are not good. Know what I mean?

It's all up to how you perceive them and how much you understand of their dynamics I guess.

It is my understanding that, JK opens up to certain other members within the group while simultaneously putting up boundaries with Jimin when he is having serious problems with Jimin. From my observation of their interactions.

So I ask, within the period of 21st February to 28th, was he leaning towards this certain member he was suddenly BFFs with around the time of their break up or was he leaning away from him? He literally teleported away from him to be next to Jimin when they were getting back together and Tae didn't seem amused by that either.

It's Jikook, I get it. I think you need to pay attention to the way they interact with the other members within the group too? Because that's equally telling. Sigh.

It is my understanding that, Jimin is quick to anger yet quick to forgive and he sometimes glosses over things, puts a lot of energy and efforts into embellishing his relationship with Kook and presenting them as the perfect duo and the perfect relationship- which is something that I think psychologically induces the Kumbaya in a lot of Jikook shippers and influences them into thinking their relationship is perfect and kumbaya. But that's another topic for another day.

JK makes Jikook more real. To me.

I hear often, people talk about how Jimin is less touchy than JK and has personal boundaries within the group and how over the years, he has toned down on his touchiness with the other members because JK puts up a lot of boundaries for him around the members with the frying pans and what not, and would fume whenever Jimin or anyone crosses those boundaries...

But have y'all ever wondered the kind of boundaries Jimin put up for JK within the group and expects JK to uphold within the group when they are together? Hint: It's not JK's touchiness or lack of boundaries. Y'all be connecting the wrong dots. Lol.

Jk puts up physical boundaries for Jimin because that is important to him. Jimin put up emotional boundaries for JK because that is important to him. They overlap sometimes but those times are insignificant to me.

Jk's certain bonds suffer because of Jimin. And he stops respecting those boundaries when he and Jimin are no longer together and the moment they are back together, he puts those boundaries up again with those bonds- this is Morse code, if you catch on message me with it. Wink.

JM throwing his arms around Kook during a serious interview is not him claiming JK or reassuring him. JK yelling Jimin to the power Z is not him exercising right of authority over Jimin- lovers do that. Know who else does that? FRIENDS. Lol.

It's nothing Hobi doesn't do with JM or the other ships don't do.

Listen, I saw all the good bits and things that you saw in that period too and still I formed my opinion on that era the way that I did and have. And the new content from that era, Run 116 and 117 all follow the same pattern of behavior I noticed around that period and have talked about. So no, my view on that era hasn't changed.

Unless, your objective is to have me change my mind based on the 'wrong' timeline dots you've connected, then we would just have to agree to disagree. Lol.

If you believe Jikook were together during that period, I agree to disagree on it. Feel free to disagree with my opinion too.

Always ship Jikook in the way that makes sense to you. And support them while you are at it. Jikook is real. Bless you.

1. could you elaborate on what the fantasy model is and how its harmful? i know that the theory is false, but it would be helpful to have more details on what it specifically is.

2. i know that you werent the one to make the comment, but you didnt really combat it either which is why im asking. in that one post where you (and another person) were arguing against the op which mentioned the fantasy model, the other person mentioned repressed memories, which are largely regarded as pseudoscience. what are your opinions on it? they dont need to exist in order for did to also exist, seeing as traumatic memories arent really "repressed" or forgotten in did. rather, traumatic memories are just held in parts/alters instead (ie trauma holders).

3. you also mentioned carl jung at some other point seperately on your blog, which seemed to be a joke (partially bc your blog is themed after athena, who canonically studies jungian psychology/analytical psychology, but mostly bc the statement was literally like "carl jung is rolling in his grave" or smth like that lol), but seeing how repressed memories are explicitly tied to him (and freud), it prompts me to also ask; do you agree with his form of psychology?

4. very unrelated and also much less serious, but since youre a system, what are your thoughts on how did is portrayed in ace attorney 6 (or, i guess they say multiple personality disorder in game, but seeing as its an outdated term...)?

I don’t mind questions at all. It gives me an excuse to ramble.

1. The fantasy model is the belief that DID is actually a delusion or hypnosis-induced. It’s harmful because it does not address the root cause of DID--childhood trauma--and thus inhibits recovery and integration. It’s also just generally associated with therapists who do not fully listen to their patients.

2. Repressed memories are a controversial subject in psychology, true, and I have a graphic demonstrating my current beliefs on the subject.

Structural dissociation. My current belief, summed up, is that traumatic memories are held in EPs, emotional parts, that may be dormant, so they appear repressed. Following the theory of structural dissociation of the personality, EPs exist in all trauma disorders--although, they are far less defined than what DID/OSDD-1 have, hence the distinction and lack of being dubbed a system. EPs in other disorders may present themselves as emotional states, such as in BPD (which also would explain memory loss due to mood swings), or as just big enough to hold reactions to a trigger, such in PTSD.

BPD and DID/OSDD-1 are what I like to call sister syndromes, because of this similarity--and its why people believe BPD systems exist. However, EPs in BPD systems are not fully defined/separated, and are still seen as the self, which is why BPD itself does not produce a system.

3. My views on Carl Jung and Freud are quite all over the place. I respect both as fathers of psychoanalytic theory, and I am a firm believer in Jung’s persona theory (which is why I made that remark, because persona theory deals with acting differently in different situations). They both have their faults, however, and I still have much more research to put into the both of them.

4. Despite it being called MPD, I quite liked its portrayal. It was nice to see them take the stereotype of “murderer with DID” and establish a person with DID as innocent. And no evil alter! The bar is also pretty low, given Split/Glass and Total Drama’s subpar depictions of DID.

LOL there just isn’t enough time in the day. Especially if you’re like me and have really crappy wifi that makes Tumblr unusable most nights... but anyway last week I was gone on the weekend and didn’t have time to recap epsiode 22, but since I didn’t like it much I thought I’d just do a quick snip about it at the beginning of my episode 23 review today. However... then I realized I have too many pictures I want to post x’D So I’m going to very belatedly review episode 22, but it’s mostly just to put screencaps up for posterity, lol. I liked episode 23 a lot better so I hope I have time to do that today as well!

So yeah, basically Taichi, Yamato, and Takeru have entered Devimon’s hideout thanks to Eldradimon and are going after Angemon’s diig-egg. Smart? Probably not. Essential? Probably yes. Takeru is very clearly on a mission and if the other two didn’t escort him he’d just go in on his own. I really miss crybaby Takeru but... anyway.

Back in the human world, various tankers have had their controls scrambled and can’t move properly. They seem to be heading for collision. I’m trying to remember but this ep was a whole week ago guys that’s too far away hahaha

Many eyes are very creepy. Japan loves many eyes.

I don’t remember what was happening here. I think they were just being creepy and threatening.

Taichi gives a PIERCING LOOK

Meanwhile in the real world... Sora messages Mimi and Jou to hurry to their rendezvous spot. I just liked that her icon is a flower arrangement <3

Meanwhile Jou is impeded by a herd of clones on their way to the elevator. Bahaha. Animation budget, what animation budget?

At least these two are looking awesome.

Devimon brings out this stone we’ve seen a couple times before that seems to be a central locus of dark energy. He uses it to empower his minions as well as himself.

Now he uses it to evolve Skullnightmon to Darknightmon. Batman watch out he’s coming for your franchise.

Takeru is appropriately freaked.

Except, no he’s not, because his first impulse is to CLIMB UP DARKNIGHTMON’S LANCE. Which he immediately falls off of but it’s okay because...

... he’s chasing his dreams!

The ships start to get dangerously close! Oh noes! Like I wish there was more to say about what’s going on in the human world but there just isn’t much. They’re still just fighting Calmaramon and her goons.

He does, fortunately, have a brother in both universes, which fills the deficit. Sweet brotherly love <3

Honestly the animation.... lol... that poor digi-egg.... hahaha.

The important thing is they catch it before it falls in the vat of evil.

Then Takeru and Yamato have a sweet moment in which Takeru says he saw his brother’s fight and wants to be just like him. It’s sweet, not to mention DESPERATELY NEEDED since Yamato’s been suspiciously chill about this whole baby bro was abducted by the enemy and is now in constant danger as long as he’s with us thing!

However it’s a very short moment. :/ I’m glad we got it of course but like do the writers of this show have something against characters having personal problems?

Whoops, while I was ranting Taichi got steamrollered.

WereGarurumon too. So, turns out, this entire episode was a WereGarurumon episode. As in he’s the central character. Lol. You can barely feel it before this moment. Last episode, it was Taichi/MetalGreymon fighting and sharing their bond and there was a dramatic moment of Taichi risking himself to save MetalGreymon and then giving a speech. This repowered MetalGreymon and gave him new weapons. This week, Yamato fighting to help his brother is what motivates WereGarurumon to overcome his injuries and also get new weapons, in the form of some kickass yet very random neo-wings.

I mean it’s cool, it’s just... he’s werewolf. But okay. This is Digimon after all x’D If MetalGreymon can fly then YEAH SURE WHY NOT WEREGARURUMON TOO IT MAKES JUST AS MUCH SENSE

I do find it annoying that it’s barely noticeable this is a Yamato/Gabumon episode until the last few moments. Too much time spent fighting, not enough talking. This show has no budget at all, that’s my currrent theory.

Oh no!! So this is actually interesting. Takeru falls and the egg briefly touches the pool of dark energy. It might mean nothing, because...

... WereGarurumon scoops them up and flies them to safety. So no harm no foul I guess. But... it’s possible that a little bit of darkness seeped into the egg in that moment. That’s just something I thought about, but it’s not exactly my theory - yet.

The egg immediately hatches!

Awww Poyomon! His voice is REALLY ANNOYING.

Cute but... please don’t least long Poyomon! Too annoying! Gah!

Devimon himself then appears because smashing small children and babies is his hobby.

We end with Takeru and Poyomon engaged in a “who’s cheek is the most soft and springy” contest.

Okay that’s enough of that! Like I said this episode was pretty dull. If I’d enjoyed it more I probably would have found time during the week to post a better recap, but it’s just more of the same fight we’ve been having for weeks now. You’d think a “save Takeru and help him save Angemon” storyline would be really interesting but it’s just not because no one talks. When’s the last time anyone had a conversation? Takeru’s one line to Yamato about wanting to be like him is the closest thing to it. Not sure what’s going on, I don’t think this is normal even for a kid’s show. Maybe budget, maybe coronavirus, maybe just lackluster writers... Idk. Some of this show I really really like! Other bits not so much. My current hope is this arc is an anomaly. The previous ones were more fun after all.

Supernatural - a retrospective

This is super self-indulgent, and I have so much else I’ve promised-- I owe a long-fic rec post, and ao3 comments, wip work, and that’s just my fandom stuff I’m behind on. *sigh*

But it’s late on a Saturday and now I’ve finished Supernatural, I want to share what I think are my top few eps, and a few other comments. I promise some of this will be different from the “greatest hits” you probably usually see, and I’ll try to make it worth your time. *wry smile*

Look, we have to have categories like: “Most Likely to Live in My Head Rent-Free for the Rest of my Life” and “Most Likely to Inspire Unnecessary Fanfiction” that are different from “Favorites,” because that’s just the cursed energy this show has. ;-)

My top five

#5 - 13.01 - “Lost and Found”

Written by: Andrew Dabb | Directed by: Phil Sgriccia

In fandom, this is most often referred to as the start of the “Grieving Widower” arc, tongue-in-cheek. Also has Alexander Calvert (Jack) walking around completely in the nude for the first third of the ep. (Neither of these are why this is in my top 5, but he has a good story about wardrobe for his ‘first day.’)

I didn’t expect much out of this episode the first time I watched it, but I’ve gone over this ‘section’ of the show maybe 3-4 times in my Netflix catch-up, and I watch this one in full every time. From Jack being...not at all what anyone expected and an unsteady vindication, to the stunning cinematography (there’s a post that compares shots to Brokeback Mountain, but I think the shots here might be better), to the sheriff who takes the time to remind her deputy that “...there’s no such thing as ‘weird.’ Everyone’s normal in their own way,” to the slow reveal of exactly how hard the events of the previous night (12x23 - All Along the Watchtower) are hitting Dean and Sam and in different ways...(how long the episode takes to reveal to you how Dean fucked up his hand, and what he was saying when he did. Augh!) The Winchesters are trying to rally, but they have been taking hits for a long time, and the cracks are showing.

#4 - 15.06 - “Golden Time”

Written by: Meredith Glynn | Directed by: John F. Showalter

Supernatural has a terrible track record with representation in all stripes. It is infamously consistent in killing off anyone minority, female, or non-White. One of the interesting things about the chaotic meta-narrative of season 15 is you can see the lack of fucks some of the writer’s room had to give about not even being subtle about tearing down that type of ‘White-male-hero-journey” now that they were in a literal “what will they do, fire me?” situation.

I’m a Cas fan, and this episode, which gives him an actual, ‘case-of-the-week’ hunter’s narrative where he gets to save the day on his own, successfully, was wonderful. I love that for him! But more than that, for me, this episode is emotional to me for other reasons-- the way Dean and Cas circle around each other on their angry phone call (with the body language! They are broadcasting so LOUD and neither can see because they’re on the phone!), Sam’s story here, where he’s inheriting things from Rowena that allow him in turn to save Eileen, to Cas’ speech and quick anger at the lake when you reflect on his entire journey of self-realization from a soldier of blind faith to an agent of free will... “You selfish little men in your positions of authority...” I just... *clears throat, grabs tissue*

#3 - 6.20 - “The Man Who Would Be King”

Written & Directed by: Ben Edlund

Speaking of Cas’ journey... I know some folks don’t like the angst and drama of the ‘Heaven and Hell’ plots of Supernatural, but I am here for it. Oh, did we need another reason to include this episode? This has some of the most metal quotes I have heard from any TV show. Ever.

I mean, look at this:

“If I knew then what I know now, I would have said: Freedom is a length of rope. God wants you to hang yourself with it.”

“Explaining freedom to angels is a bit like explaining poetry to fish.”

The delivery of: “It's not too late. Damn it, Cas! We can fix this!” “Dean, it’s not broken!” is one of those Supernatural bits that will live in my head until the end of time. All of Edlund’s episodes are among my favorites, but this (along with “5.04 - The End”) was on another level.

#2 - 5.16 - “Dark Side of the Moon”

Written by: Andrew Dabb & Daniel Loflin | Directed by: Jeff Wollnough

I think of this episode every time I hear Bob Dylan sing “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.” This is kinda a giant montage episode, but the connecting concepts are so...satisfying.

“Heaven is your favorite memories.” “ It’s called the axis mundi. It’s a path that runs through heaven. Different people see it as different things. For you, it’s two-lane asphalt.” “This is your idea of heaven? Wow, this was one of the worst nights of my life.” “I don’t think I realized how long you’ve been cleaning up Dad’s messes.” “It’s awesome to finally have an application—a practical application—for string theory.” “Everyone leaves you, Dean. You noticed?” “Why is God talking to me? Gardner-to-gardener, and between us, I think he gets lonely.” “You son of a bitch, I believed in... ” Whoosh.

#1 - 4.01 - “Lazarus Rising”

Written by: Eric Kripke | Directed by: Kim Manners

So...this is the episode where Castiel, angel of thee Lord, shows up. And that’s primarily why it earns the no. 1 spot, because 80% of my enjoyment of Supernatural from this point on was Cas-adjacent. Plus this entire episode just hits. ALL OF IT. Dean’s homecoming. Ruby, my darling. Bobby’s entire vibe. Pamela Barnes, easily one of the most interesting women Supernatural ever introduced. Cas being so hot to say “Hi” to Dean he forgets he wounds people.

But beyond that-- the way the show writes their ��oh, by the way, angels’ narrative! If you haven’t seen this episode, would you believe me if I told you that THIS EPISODE, the episode where Supernatural said “canonically, Judeo-Christian Heaven is real, btw” involves no churches but does involve a séance, a soulmark handprint brand, and a himbo angel that “gripped you tight and raised you from Perdition”...but they were all “no homo, guys” for years?

Truly no one was out here doing it like Supernatural even back in 2008.

15.18 - “Despair”

“Most Likely to Live Rent-Free in My Head for the Rest of my Life”

Written by: Robert Berens | Directed by: Richard Speight, Jr.

You know why this episode is here. It broke reality. I could be wrong-- but I’d put good money on this episode being the subject of academic theses in the future. That doesn’t automatically make for interesting story, but...

Has there ever been a case, in a mainstream US TV show where a major lead character (Cas) came out as queer so late in the game in a narratively-important way? I’m not aware of it, but I might just be behind on my television.

This episode has great writing, and (blessedly) amazing direction and blocking anyway. Check out the above gif - that is some next level foreshadowing going on in the cinematography, and this isn’t even the most remarked upon shot in this episode. (Seriously, I had to search for 40 minutes for this gif, please respect my game, lol.) Everyone who was involved in 15x18 is giddy talking about their investment, from the costume designer to the actors to the director to the writer...

...And then a bunch of them steadfastly have avoided posting much Supernatural-related since. So that’s...loud. There is a bunch of subtext in this episode that is screamingly loud; there is a bunch of text in this episode that makes several things clear fandom has been chattering over for years and years. The meta-commentary around this episode continues, months later. There are over 700 fics on AO3 with this episode tag.

I have more to say about the themes of ‘free will’ and ‘love’ and ‘identity’ tied to this episode, but seriously-- you’ve probably read 17 versions of it on Tumblr already, so.

This is the last time we see Cas, and the last time Supernatural can claim anything close to narrative consistency. For that alone, it’d earn free head-space.

“Most Likely to Inspire Unnecessary Fanfiction”

Usually the show kills off it’s “one-episode” female characters, but do you know one time it didn’t? When the Moirai (the Fates - specifically Atropos, the shearer of the Threads of Fate) showed up in canon in 6.17. She was posited to have “two older sisters that were bigger than her- in every sense of the word,” ...and Castiel had to back down when she challenged him to a cosmic game of chicken over the Winchester’s lives.

Then they never returned to that idea again.

“A Little Slice of Kevin” is on here for the opposite reason -- an amazing idea that was really underwritten in the episode it showed up in. Dean Winchester has been dragging himself across the fabric of universes; the literal Word of God is in play in a warehouse in Middle America; Cas is back from Purgatory, but what does that mean, micro and macro? As a person on the street, what would it mean, or feel like, to learn you were a Prophet of the Lord, uncalled? That what you are, everything you are, is a cosmic contingency?

Maybe Fate has an opinion on all these shenanigans?

Perhaps all that doesn’t make sense, but it certainly made an impression on ~2012 me. To this day, it remains the WIP I can open up and fool myself with the ‘twist.’ I wish I remembered where I was going with it so I could finish it.

July 16: Star Trek 1x06 Mudd’s Women

Mudd’s Women today. I don’t really think fondly of this ep when I’m not watching it, not because it’s not good, but because it’s less focused on the Enterprise, like the really important part of the story is about characters who only appear here, so it doesn’t stand out as much. Also Mudd is really annoying. Also almost every ep of S1 is a Classic so anything that isn’t, like 11/10 seems just “okay” by comparison.

So the Enterprise is just chasing a suspicious vessel because why not. Actually kind of speaks to that theory that esp. the pre-5 year mission purpose of the ship is to be like the Coast Guard, to patrol. I guess they still do that. Hey--that looks suspicious!

“No registration beams.” No license plate lol.

Kirk is so good-hearted. Doesn’t hesitate to put his own ship in potential danger to save some random people he doesn’t know, because of course, he can’t let this situation he exacerbated, as part of his job, become worse. Plus, like, curiosity I’m sure.

Uhura in gold today.

Always get a kick out of anyone on the bridge doing the job of anyone else on the bridge and Kirk just taking Spock’s station gives me Emotions.

Mudd like “I couldn’t be sure you were a friendly vessel, so I ran” like okay, the ship literally says “U.S.S. Enterprise” on it in big letters, it’s not ambiguous.

Early example of McCoy hating transporters.

Literally can’t believe this ship has batteries.

Honestly, they’re not that hot guys, keep it in your pants.

“How many did we get off?” / “Oh, two, maybe three depending on how Spock’s feeling rn.”

McCoy is such a slut omg.

The one in blue is literally just wearing a shirt.

“You’re part Vulcanian.” Honestly, Mudd seems to understand the whole concept of Vulcans better than McCoy does (”This type can turn himself off from any emotion.”).

“I apologize for what he said, Sir.” Oh, Evie, so empathetic. Spock’s not even upset. He’s having a grand time. Can’t wait to see what the Captain will think of the hot ladies! (Answer: he thinks they’re the crew.)

Honestly, I do think Spock was into them a little. It’s pretty ambiguous, Mudd’s comment aside, just how much of a kick he got out of them. He comes very close to smiling a lot, though.

“You’re a hard-nosed one, Captain.” Damn right.

Defense attorney Spock.

Man, I love Sulu.

I’m only noticing it on this rewatch but Spock has a lot of engineering knowledge, I feel? He’s the Science Officer but engineering is honestly the most specific skill set he exercises.

The way Kirk says, “Well, Mr. Spock?” is so flirty. They even give the dramatic, flirty lighting.

Honestly, I can’t believe the Enterprise canonically runs on crystals.

I love the computer. Nurse Chapel’s voice. The squiggly green line. Constantly irritating Mudd. Though also tbh very disturbing from a privacy point of view. I mean in a way it’s not, like, a lie detector, it’s not determining Mudd is lying by anything about him, it’s just comparing his words to public records, but still.

Convicted of driving without a license.

Computer: the male members of the crew are horny.

Kirk: strike the horniness from the record.

I really expected the computer to say “incorrect” when Mudd says, “Heaven’s honest truth.”

That look Kirk shares with Spock though. It’s not super obvious they’re looking at each other, but they are.

Spock with his hands on his hips. Underrated stance, should have had more of that in AOS.

Honestly, this plotline is yet another vehicle for the sort of story Beyond was allegedly interested in telling lol.

“Are you wearing something radioactive?”

This lady in green isn’t very smart but I love McCoy in this scene. His horniness fighting with his realization that uh this is weird?

“Don’t mind me, Captain, I was just lying on your bed for no reason.” “Uh, actually I do mind???”

Kirk is a paragon of virtue though!

I like Evie a lot. She’s the best part of this ep. Really going after Kirk in his vulnerable spot with that talk of loneliness. I do get the impression she legit liked him (as much as she could in uh 2 days) but I don’t think he had much of an interest in her, other than in the same way as everyone else reacting to the hotness drug. And even that he controlled pretty well.

Those original husbands are going to be pissed.

Good Kirk and McCoy scene. “They’re not smart enough to be aliens.” And Kirk doesn’t even pull the “I’m the Captain, answer my question” thing, he’s literally like, “I asked you first.”

I like that McCoy gets that they’re just “acting beautiful.” Actually in retrospect this is probably where Kirk get his placebo idea.

“Ships captains are already married--to their vessels.”

Lol they look exactly the same without the drugs, just with their hair disheveled and their makeup gone.

Love that the pill’s in the form of a sparkly heart.

Spock likes the look of the crystals. That decadent bitch. Idk if people generally thinkk of Vulcans as austere but they are not, like aesthetically--only emotionally. He just likes pretty things, and it’s canon.

Whereas Kirk’s like “I literally don’t give af that we made some crystals less sparkly, we saved some people’s lives.”

Mmmm, I enjoy negotiator!Kirk. Even though he’s in such a bad spot. That poor, sad little face.

Mudd’s earring loooool.

“Expect further difficulty from the miners.”

I love the mining aesthetic/world building/almost 50s sci fi feel.

I’m too tired for real, like, analysis, but I like Evie and Ben.

She’s not even ugly, like........... I know I just have to take it as reality that the Venus drug makes them hot and I’m willing to just suspend disbelief that there’s some quality there that isn’t literal, that can’t be seen, but I cannot suspend disbelief that this very pretty woman is “homely” or “ugly” when she takes off her makeup.

Kirk is so smart with his placebo experiment.

I’m not like a super fan of the ultimate explanation of the Venus drug though--that it gives you “more of what you are.” Too... essentialist and playing into gender stereotypes personally. Like a lot of the Message of this ep I can get behind, but then it takes a few weird missteps that are almost certainly a product of the time in which it was made (like a less extreme version of The Enemy Within). Also, the little like shoehorned “You just gotta believe in yourself!” message was weird. It didn’t really seem to fit with the point.

The really interesting and thoughtful parts of this episode are smushed too much into the end. There’s just a lot going on: what is the nature of marriage, what are the confines of gender roles, what is the purpose of beauty, what are the intersections between gender and class, what are the larger economic realities at play here, how do human emotions like loneliness interplay with class and gender--and man the drug itself!! Is it manipulation? Is it lying? Are the real and/or biggest victims of the drug the women themselves--is it a danger to them? (I’d say yes, and, it appears to be.) And honestly nothing is really resolved?? Even Evie agreeing to stay with Ben apparently because she knows Kirk won’t have her (when they had one conversation and he didn’t really seem that into her anyway) is like... I get it because we always gotta shoehorn hints of romance with the lead because he’s the lead, and we have to bring everything back to the lead because he’s the lead, but I’m not interested in Evie’s thoughts on Kirk. I’m interested in her thoughts on Ben, marriage, partnership, gender roles, love.

I mean “You don’t want wives! This is what you want!” is so !!!!

Basically the ep is fine but it’s so weighted at the end, to a degree that everything that came before seems kinda... slow, in retrospect.

Honestly, Kirk’s even a little flirty with Mudd. (My mom: “The problem’s been solved, Kirk is happy and flirty.” I agree, happy and flirty is his default mode!)

Ginji & Ranmaru

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) lol Okay no, this post is not about how the thought of shipping them crossed my mind! lmfao There’s a few things I want to point out from the new OP that may be related to the “ceremony”, to the relationship between Ginji & Ranmaru, and how it connects to my theory that the ayakashi that helped Aoi was Ginji↴

May contain spoilers from the anime. Please read at your own risk.

There seems to be more to the relationship between Ginji and Ranmaru. In the OP we see a lot of Ginji & Ranmaru scenes where they are shown together:

We see what appears to be Ginji & Ranmaru coming from the direction of the blue lightning (storm?) and flying across Orio-ya/the Southern land (there seems to be a curse):

We see Ginji & Ranmaru as children. They seem close, so cute! (Childhood friends?):

We then see Ginji & Ranmaru again. This time they don’t seem to be in good terms/close what happened?!:

We are then shown Ginji before he transforms into his woman form. Everything points to him not wanting to do it (ceremony), but he has to T_T

The transition of the next 3 characters makes it seem as if they are ONE:

1. Ginji’s woman form (Note: Same blue light as Ginji, also see episode 1)

2. Ranmaru’s other form:

3. ???

My guesses as to who this third ayakashi is:

Ranmaru x Ginji form? (Note: It looks like Ginji’s woman form but in male, it has Ginji’s tails. He has a sword and so does Ranmaru, although it doesn’t seem to be the same sword)

Another form of Ginji? (Note: Same as above.)

Ginji’s woman form: Maybe I’m just blind and for some reason I thought it was male.

A different ayakashi: Perhaps Ginji and Ranmaru are necessary to perform the ceremony and awaken this ayakashi.

Evidence that suggests it’s a Ginji x Ranmaru form:

LN Cover Vol. 5 (Note: What appears to be Ginji’s woman form and what she is holding: Suzu? bells. The hilt and ribbon looks like the same one from the sword that ayakashi in the OP has. Also has same clothes. Now look at Ranmaru and the item he is holding. So if Ginji & Ranmaru were to combine, it would also make sense that their items combine. Sword x Ribbon lol)

Jacket Illust. for the new opening. If after all the evidence you’re still not convinced that the woman is Ginji then take a look at this and then at the cover for the LN above. Look at the items they’re holding:

Here’s what we know:

Ginji has 9 forms, and we’ve only seen 4. His power/aura/flame is blue

Ginji & Ranmaru know each other since childhood. (Childhood Friends?)

There’s a curse in the Southern Land(?)

The ceremony is important

It seems the presence of Ginji is necessary for the “ceremony”. Ginji said the only reason he returned was because of that.

There was an agreement that Ginji would return to Orio-ya after working for 50 years at Tenjin-ya

Oodanna & Ginji made a promise

Perhaps because of the curse Ginji and Ranmaru are bound to the land and their duty is to perform the ceremony. It would explain why Ginji had to go back to Orio-ya. Why does Ginji look so sad about the whole thing, though? The other time I’ve seen him make that expression is when the topic about that ayakashi that helped Aoi is brought up. If Ginji was that ayakashi, was it bad that he helped her? That ayakashi told Aoi, “We will certainly meet again when you become an adult.” That ayakashi helped her because he was kind and not because he had ulterior motives, right? Maybe by helping Aoi he put her in danger and might be connected to this ceremony. Could this be related to his reason to agree to work at Tenjin-ya specifically for 50 years and the promise he made with Oodanna?

I’ve also thought about the possibility that the ayakashi that helped Aoi was the 3rd ayakashi shown in the OP aka the Ginji x Ranmaru form BUT this one is highly unlikely tbh. lol

A character in the new Solo movie and a possible connection with Ben/Kylo...

This is actually a conversation that was prompted by @antbee17 after a post I did about an ask on the parallels between Finn and Kylo.

At one point of the ensuing discussion, I started talking about the Wizard of Oz as a reference for the ST, and playfully asked if we were going to have rainbows. And that is when @antbee17 chipped in with an amazing reference to the new Han Solo movie. I am editing the conversation a bit (thanks @antbee17 for letting me post it!), but this is how it went, and I wanted to share to get you guys’ opinion about it, because it might potentially be important, and why not, we could get something super special at the end (this is PURE speculation, mind you!!!)

@antbee17 : I wasn't sure if you saw where I had seen what you had written about a rainbow in EP IX. Someone at Reddit had speculated a few days before about Enfys Nest and how he/she could relate to the last film specifically to Kylo and the Knights of Ren because Enfys means rainbow in Welsh. Enfys' mask does look very similar to Kylo's, and I do expect there to be more connections to Ben like in the Last Shot excerpt that felt like it was more about Ben than being about Han. In fact, I wasn't even excited about the Solo film because in my mind Leia was it for Han, so I was wary about them adding Qira. Then, I read theories on here about how the ending will probably be Han telling his stories to baby Ben, and then I was like damn, I have to go see it now, lol. Enfys Nest just seems like a very odd villain name not to mean something more, imo.

@clairen45 : I got your message, and I had to check it out because I have not really been following about the Solo movie . I will watch it, but so far, I am not too excited about it. But with the points you brought about the rainbow and the mask, I am totally looking forward to it. What an exciting idea if Kylo chose his mask not so much as to emulate Vader but more or less consciously because of a story that Han told him as a boy! This is an awesome idea. Maybe this will not play like that but if it does, oh boy ! And if they bring in little Ben’s at the end of the movie, with a look of awe at hearing his dad’s tales, wow! Mind blown!

@antbee17: I agree that it would be cool if the helmet ended up related to a story that Han told little Ben instead of Vader's helmet. I never even thought about that before, but that does seem like something that Disney/LF could do to show how much of Han that Ben has in him, and to point towards a redemption for him.

Guys, that is the jest of it! I am trying not to be too psyched about it, because I do not want to be spending the movie waiting for THAT Ben Solo’s shot at the end and never get it, but boy, wouldn’t it be awesome. Now to come back to the Enfys Nest name... and mask!

Yes, there are some similarities in the design, for sure... And What I particularly like about the name, Enfys Nest, is the “nest” part, because I have been talking a lot in my posts about nesting, birds, the MF as a nest... So, nice way to tie in the Solo movie with the thematics of the ST. Also, a rainbow, that is intriguing, and that does bring in the Wizard of Oz theme/ I think they are trying to be rather consistent and coherent with the overall themes between the ST and the material (books, cartoons, and other movies) they are releasing now.

I want to be super careful because I know that back in 2015 people started spinning some theories about Snoke and that blew back in their faces. So maybe this is just a fool’s errand BUT... I REALLY, REALLY like the idea of little Ben actually drawing the design of his mask after the villain in his dad’s adventures. I think it is super cool if he did. Because, obviously, this is not designed after Vader��s mask. And we have all been emphasizing that he is not supposed to be Vader. So, what about yet another link to his father... Thank you so much @antbee17 for putting that cool idea in my head... Though now I will be sad if we do not get baby Ben in the end, as an awesome cameo... Maybe in a novelization? Maybe?
