IM GETTING NOSTALGIC FOR ANIMAL JAM.... i miss all my old critters man. i miss bug father specifically i wanna draw him so bad

I can just see Animal showing up to her door holding out flowers for her like the way he did with Nora 🥺🥺🥺🥺

Wanted to have a crack at drawing an older Summer design with bonus Animal!! These two are one of my fav duos no matter their dynamic

My feelings for Summer's character have really developed, I remember when I first saw art of her I was so confused on who those random penguin was and I was sure that I wasn't gonna be that attached. But her and Animal are literally so adorable together! I often rewatch episodes of Muppet Babies 2018 just for their interactions!

Some small headcannons cuz I love these two: -So I like to think of these two as a couple, but like I said in the beginning I love all dynamics with them, platonic and romantic

-They used to be primary school buddies and that's how their friendship started. Animal was outcasted by other kids for being too freaky and Summer was very shy, so the two gravitated towards each other and ever since have been close

-Piggy used to babysit Summer before she was a big star. I love Floyd and Piggy's enemies dynamic so watching these two trying to be civil when Animal and Summer are having fun amuses me

-Summer works on the Muppets show as a prop and scenery designer. She got her job through Piggy who has a somewhat soft spot for Summer even after she grew up

-Summer knows the band but she knows Floyd and Teeth the most, since they where the two who first raised Animal together when he was a kid. Summer and Animal as kids put Floyd and Teeth through so much stress

-Animal is so smitten with her and greets Summer via flying tackle hug everytime she pops over to visit, it's all good though Summer is round and bounces so she can take it

-In the beginning Floyd was kind of jealous of Summer cuz he felt like Animal was spending more and more time with her. It wasn't till Teeth and Janice talked with him about it did he relax and stopped worrying as much

-I dunno how old the two are exactly, Animal is obviously not as old as the band but I don't think he's necessarily as Scooter is (who I hc is in his early-mid twenties)

although it may be hard to believe, I've known about SCP since 2013, and I've been a full-fledged member of the fandom since 2015! even though I've never shown myself anywhere before. until 2022, I mostly only read content translated into Russian, my native language. this is probably because the period from 2018 to 2022 in real life was very tough for me, so I wasn't able to fully follow the fandom and missed a lot of things. anyway, I'm missing the point! I caught the time when people drew Clef skinny and handsome and the time when 166 was a "succubus". nope, I don't think it was better before. first, people finally started drawing Clef chubby like I always imagined him to be. not that I forbid people from drawing him the way they want, but I personally prefer when artists can draw more than white skinny anime boys. second, the rewritten 166 is much better than the "original". the original version didn't do its job and didn't convey the necessary horror that was meant by it, as a result the old 166 was seen more like a "haha hot and shy anime teenage nun" by coomers. 4166 and 0166, my favorite articles, do a much better job than the original 166.

but anyway! sometimes I feel nostalgic. again, that doesn't mean I think it was better before! it's just that SCP means a lot to me to the point it has become my special interest (yes, I am autistic). which is why I decided to draw two Clefs, the "chubby and ugly" one and the "skinny and handsome" one, along with their daughters. for me, it's as if they symbolize two different eras that are somehow closely connected to my life.

I enjoyed drawing them together :) I even managed to ship them..... so I commissioned a friend to draw them as "clefcest" (im talking about 2 clefs, thats a selfcest ship.... not clef and his daughter, hell no). you may have even seen it. I might draw more of them idk

International Bat Night 

Find the nearest bat habitat and see if you can spot some of these eco-system-sustaining, adorable, awe-inspiring flying critters on International Bat Night.

Bats have many places in literature and history, and serve roles both dark and hilarious depending on where you find them. Probably the most common association with the bat is with vampires, but there is also the fun-loving bat from Ferngully (Batty Coda) along with a host of other characters from literature and cinema. But bats have an important role to play in our eco-system, and some of them are becoming endangered. International Bat Night serves to raise awareness from our flying rodent friends and why they deserve to be protected.

Learn about International Bat Night

International Bat Night is a date that takes place every year to celebrate these creatures, with a number of different bat events taking place around the world for the public to get involved with. These events give you the opportunity to help bat conservation and to learn more about these creatures. There are talks at dusk and fun bat walks; it is definitely the sort of activity you should experience at least once, as it will give you a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with these incredible animals and to learn more about them.

Incredible facts about bats

When we say that bats are incredible creatures, we do not expect you to simply take our word for it. After all, bats are the only mammals that can fly. They also use echolocation in order to get around during the night. As you probably know, bats do most of their living when it is dark and they cannot see very well. Because of this, they need to depend on other navigational skills, instead of sight. They send out beeps, listening for variations in the echoes that bounce back in order to understand where they are and to get around effectively.

Bats have gotten a bit of a bad reputation over the years. However, most of this is unjustified. A lot of people think that bats, especially those in North America, go around infecting people with rabies and a whole host of other toxins and diseases. This is something that has merely become a rumor because of the television and movies. In fact, bats avoid people, and only 10 people in the last 50 years have contracted rabies from North American bats. If you are one of the incredibly unlucky ones to get bitten by a bat, make sure you go to see your doctor as soon as possible, but don’t panic, bats really aren’t as scary as it is made out in the films! Vampire bats also don’t suck blood, contrary to popular belief. Okay, they do lap it up, but calm down! There are actually only three species of vampire bats across the globe.

History of International Bat Night

International Bat Night was established to help promote the good image of bats, and to help start creating some clarity on the facts about them above and beyond the rumors and Hollywood image. While we often think of bats as nocturnal predators feasting on the blood of the innocent and harboring rabies, the truth is quite different. Yes, there are bats that feed on blood, but they mostly feed on insects and believe us, you want bats to be out there patrolling the night and helping eliminate them.

Bats are one of the major contributors to keeping down obnoxious night insects like mosquitoes, and if you’re a camper, you know how unpleasant mosquitoes can make an otherwise pleasant camping expedition. There are also bats that feed on nectar and fruit, and actually help to pollinate and spread the seed of plants, in many cases they’re the only ones working to help those plants procreate!

These are just the beginnings of the wonders that bats possess, and there is far more just a flicker away, and International Bat Night is a great time to spend learning about them!

How to celebrate International Bat Night

One of the best ways to spend International Bat Night is by enjoying the quiet of night and watching the skies in your nearest bat habitat. Maybe it’s a night out in the woods, or just sitting on your front porch if you’re fortunate enough!

If you’re feeling both generous and adventurous, you can head out to one of your local Bat Conservatories and celebrate the night with them while making a contribution to their work. Really love bats? Volunteer with these conservatories and help keep our flying rodent friends around!

We also recommend spending a bit of time online, reading up about bats, and finding out more about these incredible creatures. Of course, we have given you some information, but there is so much else to learn. You can also help to spread awareness by sharing some of the information you find with your friends and family members on social media.

Another way to celebrate International Bat Night is by watching a Batman movie. You also have the Batman and Batwomen TV series as well. If you are a fan of superhero movies, this is definitely one of the best ways to celebrate this date. There are a lot of other films too, with many vampire-based films incorporating bats, such as Le Vampire and Dracula. So, get the popcorn out and enjoy yourself!

Lots of Headcanons #1

Due to recent events I'm writing lots of mini headcanons to liven the mood, starting with my very BESTEST FRIEND @cyc-chilla

Avior

Avior has a drawing tablet he uses whenever he gets stressed, which is a lot.

He specializes in backgrounds, landscapes, and designs/patterns.

He prefers digital art rather than traditional art since it’s more forgiving, but he still dabbles in watercolors a lot.

Avior doesn’t often eat human food since it’s not necessary but when Starlight speaks about their favorite foods, or cooks anything, he usually tries the food, whether it looks appetizing or not.

He played tic-tac-toe almost 100 times to entertain himself in “hell”, and he lost to himself more than half of that amount.

Sam

As a kid, Sam would usually hang out in the nearest park, away from home, and try bringing home critters from there. Whether it was a squirrel, bugs, rabbits, stray cats, didn’t matter. He liked picking them up and trying to take them home. It worked a few times but someone would always find the animal and toss it back out.

Sam was a cowboy for Halloween from the ages of 7-12, and he regrets telling Darlin’ about it every passing day.

He hasn’t bought a new iPhone since 2018.

The only holiday his family spent together was Christmas, and he missed it greatly when he moved to Dahlia. He didn’t celebrate with the House for a number of reasons, so the first one he spent with other people since moving was when he started dating Darlin’ and he felt emotional during the entire day.

Butter Pecan is not his favorite ice cream flavor, he just says it is to make people mad. He still likes it, though

He spent an entire summer when he was 11 selling lemonade and water in his local park to raise money to buy a SNES. He never did have enough to buy one but he had a shit ton of money for an 11 year old.

Him going to Six Flags in Cali was the first and only time he’s ever been to an amusement park.

Porter

When she was alive, Porter got his mother a bouquet of flowers every year for mothers day, with differing handwritten notes. Even after his presumed death, she’d get flowers sent to her home every mothers day, and to this day a bundle of flowers and notes are put on her grave.

He uses a flip phone when calling people he doesn’t like so he can hang up on them by slamming it shut.

He finger guns himself in the mirror

Porter cried when the Queen died

His love-language is gift-giving, so Treasure just has a bunch of real expensive jewelry in one of their drawers because Porter gives them so much of it.

Although he prefers physical touch, and Treasure always delivers it.

Porter wears eyeliner.

Caelum

Cannot color inside the lines of a coloring book

Caelum does not like feeling constricted, so whenever he’s on Elegy he makes his form wear flowy and loose clothes to give himself space

Whenever he drinks kool-aid he rushes to the nearest mirror to look at his tongue changing color

When using a coloring book, he usually draws with a single color crayon, no two colors unless he’s drawing it for his siblings, Freelancer, or Gavin.

He finds bunk beds adorable until it’s time for him to sleep on one

Caelum cannot sleep on a normal day. He can try, and he can pretend, but if he’s not doing it to help someone else, he can’t just “go to sleep”, he’s too excited for anything and everything.

Due to accelerated energy, Caelum (and most Empathy Daemons) flies faster and for longer than other demons.

He gave his physical form braces once, took them off almost immediately.
