i've gotten a couple sweet asks over the past few days/weeks asking about future relationships in the princess AU that seem to... imply an expected endgame with monogamous lumity and huntlow.... since a lot of new people are here from getting AU posts recommended to them, it's a good time to say 1) i'm a serial polyshipper, and 2) i'm a serial queerplatonic shipper

which means..... none of these kids are going to be monogamous. or partnered off apart from each other forever. to that end, hunter isn't ever going to be "less" important to luz than amity, willow isn't ever going to be "more" important to hunter than luz and amity, etc. i'd get both terribly bored and Desperately sad prioritizing monogamous romance over all the other entanglements happening here.

i AM likely to do some exploration of hunter and willow's relationship on its own because of how unbelievably funny it is for hunter to be like "oh. maybe i DO have certain feelings and think certain things about cuddling in bed with people. but... only.... one very specific people, at the moment. what..... do i do with this"

but like. my endgame agenda for this AU (and like, every other thing i ever write, ever) is to have a really impractical bedsharing arrangement between 478372 people. in the most giant bed of all time.

More rat announcements on the topic of relationships and what not cuz I'm editing the page. I have added an 'always canon' section that's for relationships that always influence the lore or the way i refer to characters when not writing with them. right now there are only two of these characters but i am always up for having sb's interpretation be part of eros' lore cuz i think that it is so fun ! but the two current 'always canon' relationships are as follows! There is @niopham 's Faris who is always Eros' son no matter the ship or the verse that is his baby. And there is @dreamscapesalesstore 's Sampo / Ilmari, because we've very heavily developed their relationship to the point that as demonstrated in 'a snake in the garden of roses' Ilmari is kind of a catalyst of sorts for where Eros ends up. So if I'm writing a thread and mention any of these homies, you'll know these are who i mean!

Hi! I don't know if you noticed, but the "neutral" OP from yesterday either blocked us or deleted our comments. And the issue could have been fixed from simply fixing their tags. So much for not being toxic🤷🏾‍♀️ It's always the people who claim to be neutral and try to be "peacekeepers" that do things like this

It's because so many people who post about the "ship war" are actually KA shippers who think the existence of zutara (or just people not liking KA) is a declaration of war.

That's why the zutara tag is always flooded with this "omg, have you considered multishipping/poly ships," nonsense. Sure, multishipping is great! So are OT3s! But not engaging in ship wars also means respecting people's right NOT to ship something.

I actually love zutaraang but I have a hard time with how a lot of people present it as a "solution" to the ship war when what they actually mean is that they can't let zutara exist without Aang. Or they'll let Zuko play as long as he doesn't threaten Aang's conception that Katara gets to be "his" at the end of the day. And often those sorts of interpretations of the ship also buy into the misogynistic conception of Aang and KA as the "wholesome" option to dirty, "shallow" zutara that the creators also encouraged. Which is also a stigmatizing way to engage in poly ships in general.

That's also the problem with the people who say they like both but make very obvious moral judgments about how they think KA is more wholesome and zutara is just about sex. Because of the way the show's male creators framed female desire itself as shallow.

Almost everyone gets caught in a shipping war from time to time.
