BAD NEWS | CHAPTER INDEX/PROLOGUE (Part 1-64)
-just when you thought you were over your humongous crush on your older brother’s best friend, geto suguru, you couldn’t be more dead wrong, and maybe there isn’t really anything holding you back from acting on it now that you’re all grown up…except satoru doesn’t like suguru for you because he knows his kind all too well: a huge ass playboy who breaks hearts like he changes socks. but you think. MAYBE you’ll be the exception...maybe not.
CHARACTERS: drummer!geto suguru x (fem/afab) reader x guitarist!sukuna | gojo satoru | itadori yuuji | kugisaki nobara | fushiguro megumi | sukuna | fushiguro toji | nanami kento | choso | tsukumo yuuki | shoko ieiri | utahime iori
GENRE: full-length smau + prose | band au, tats, piercings, the whole shebang | college au | stupid pining | aged-up characters | friends to lovers (?) | this is gonna have smutty stuff because why not?
TW/CW: strong/mature language | adult content so mdni on some parts; just skip them. you’re not missing much | mentions of alcohol, drugs | mentions of cheating, promiscuity, mild dubcon (consent >>>), etc. | again, god-awful pet names i’d cringe at if a 3d person says it | toxic behavior | will add more if something arises
AKI’S NOTES: I would like to express my sincerest thanks to everyone who loved and supported “Thawing Ice Queen” as well as those who participated in the poll on which smau I’m going to write next. So, this is what won in said poll, and I hope it gets as much as love as TIQ if not more. Reblogs and likes are very much appreciated, and I actively respond to comments as well as Asks. Also, if you’re interested, I will include you in the tag list. Just message me through whatever avenue you’re most comfortable with. Happy reading!
ADDITIONAL NOTES: i will be using pics and other media which would fit situations and make the smau-ness of this piece a little more realistic and entertaining when i believe it’s appropriate/fitting to the plot (as i've done with TIQ). having said that, with regard to inclusivity, i just want to put it out there that they will not necessarily be aimed as the exact descriptions to fit a supposedly generic reader nor will they be representative of a specific race or color (even if you’re/the reader is gojo’s sister here). it’s all for the simple fact of media availability, for funsies and the fact that i don’t exclusively write in consideration of those aspects when using reader-insert characters unless i specify it. thank you for understanding.

A short Mizuki analysis (SPOILERS FOR MIZU5)
Alright where do I begin with this event honestly I really like how Colorful palette decided to take with this story as a whole and the way that they present the struggles of being trans especially for Mizuki who is identified as one so let’s do a deep dive on this event as a whole
Mizu1, Mizu2, and Mizu3 connections
So I’ll not be mentioning Mizu4 since that event is mostly set up for Mafu4 and felt less focus on Mizuki’s struggles being trans.
So as established by Secret Distance and Kamiyama Festival events, Mizuki is an outcast in their school. In Mizu5, we see Rui’s concern about Mizuki trying to tell Ena their secret, during Kamiyama, we know that Rui is technically the only friend that knows their secret of them being trans. Since we know that Rui already embraced that side of him it was only a matter of time that Mizuki will reveal it. During what lies ahead, Ena mentions to Mizuki to take their time when they want to reveal their secret. Personally I like how Ena knows most about Mizuki that she really wants the best for them and is ready to wait for a while for Mizuki to admit about themselves. Family wise, we got to know Yuuki, which is the person Mizuki is the most honest to. In both Mizu3 and the 2024 New years event, we see how she deals with the fact about her own sibling’s gender identity. She wants the best for Mizuki, even tho we barely got to know Mr and Mrs. Amamiya, with the small talk with Mizuki and their mom, implies that the parents are also supportive of Mizuki’s decision to transition from male to female. Yuuki really wants the best for Mizuki and that she was the reason that Mizuki decided to join nightcord.
Mizu5 and some similarities to Mafuyu when it comes to samsa (LAST SPOILER ALERT)
So during Mizu5 everything comes full circle. Let us focus on the ending of the event. Just a quick summary: after coming late to the rooftop due to their classmate’s injuries, two of Mizuki’s classmates told Ena that the secret Mizuki is hiding is the fact they’re trans. Mizuki, who just came in hearing what they told Ena, caused them to run away. Ena tries to ask Mizuki if anything is fine but Mizuki just says sorry and locks themselves out even being absent from any nightcord activity. Once finishing this chapter, Mizuki will only remain in the empty sekai. So yea that’s a lot but don’t worry this analysis will be simpler going forward. Mizuki is an excellent representation of people in the LGBTQ+ community whose main fear about their own gender identity, for their case is just to come out that they are trans only to get outed by others. The way Mizuki decided to cope with the situation make sense, they are ashamed for who they are but at the same time Ena still sees Mizuki as well Mizuki. As seen by the event cards, each of the members of nightcord are feeling lonely since Mizuki decided to be absent due to the incident holding a part of Mizuki’s ribbon. This parallels Mafuyu’s 4th focus event where the other members are holding a part of Mafuyu’s heart (the apple broach) trying to help her. Another parallel is also shown via the gacha showcase, using the 3dmv of Samsa. Just like the main protagonist of Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis (the main basis of Kanade’s 3rd focus) Both Mizuki and Gregor’s decision to change to show their true self can have consequences similarly to Mafuyu trying to show her true self to Mrs Asahina.
Conclusion
This event is a great showcase on the fear of being outed and how Mizuki deals with it. Huge props to Colorful palette on how they present the story as a whole as well as the voice actors providing a great job in showcasing the characters.

I basically said "I dunno what to do about going downspiral of an old fandom", but I got curious and found this pic from one of the Sukedan anime DVD volumes for rental stores and I'm, like...
I never reached this part of the anime (this is around ep 60-smth?), but it's the infamous School Trip Rhapsody arc adaptation of the also infamous arc from the series. From my understanding (digging around old blogs, actually), the arc was butched (and VERY compressed) in the anime because of (also understandable) quite risky? and quite awkward scenes that makes me scratch my head of "were these steamy/fanservice scenes all really necessary? to be there in the manga itself? I understand the AWKWARDNESS of the whole situation, but... let's be real...???"
(yeah, this coming from the same WSJ magazine that published ecchi series like Video Girl Ai or I's from Katsura in the 90s or, To-Love-Ru in the 2000s... and the controversial? Ayakashi Triangle in 2020... heck, City Hunter by Hojo in the late 80s; I know Sukedan was never free of fanservice, but I mean, wow, this arc...)
So, I went to reread the whole arc and... okay, yeah. The Sket Dan trio totally are there, Yabasawa makes her appearance as well in some moments of the arc itself, even... but who is this girl? She is not Saaya and definitely isn't any of the other (quirky) girls from their class(es). So... who is this or what happened here? I don't think there is any other (random) girl from their class that fits a similar appearance... unless...
Was this girl supposed to be Yuuki Reiko?
(EDIT: turns out to be a friend of Yabasawa that I barely remember about :P -side, side characters I don't even remember for one reason or another- and in fact, I feel like this supports my possibility number one, as it's possible she is also one of the girls in the manga picture I mention below. Anyway, if you still want to read my overthinking post, go ahead, lol, even if it's been debunked? as the mystery is solved, lol. However, the conclusion I DO reach is: GOD, do I even miss this kind of home media releases? Two different covers for a single volume that contains 2 or 3 eps for a long series like this??? No, no, I don't.)
Please, don't go away, lol. Let me explain:
This is how Shinohara drew Reiko in one of the manga color chapters ALL the way back in 2012 (ch 200, I believe)?
And this is the random girl from the rental DVD cover:
They seem to share a hairstyle and a somewhat similar hair color that Reiko used in the anime (and I daresay, even similar color tones of clothes, from what I remember Reiko seemed to wear, which were kind of plain tones?). So, I'm wondering myself that something happened here. Three things, actually:
1) There's a part of this arc in the manga where "Himeko" is asked to take a pic with the girls from her class' group dormitory in the school trip, and I mean, the manga cover for this specific chapter (ch 138) with that photo is mostly composed of random girls from Himeko's class (plus Yabasawa).
(the quality doesn't make it justice, but that's quite early 2010s scanlations for you)
So I would understand if it's a random girl... (Yabasawa is there, too) however I feel it's just too out of place for a (rental) DVD cover to have a smth similar concept like this for a cover? I know the anime staff or the one(s) that made the llustrations were asked LOTS OF TIMES to remake some manga covers in the anime style (especially for both of the renta and retail DVD covers) , buuuut... Switch and Bossun are out of the equation in this manga picture (and yet they are in the cover). Am I that too pedantic? It's just... weird to me, I guess. I would have chosen Saaya (especially Saaya for what this arc ALSO entails for her, but she already had too many forced appearances in the anime at this point, so what gives) or Captain or any other of the quirky girls they are all friends with, you know? Not just a random one? Or heck, another concept for a cover that covers a similar idea of a picture of the trio with other ppl from their class (not just Yabasawa and a random girl whom I don't know who she is???)
2) Something got mixed in the artist's request from the anime staff in charge for home media releases and they used the settei model for Reiko as a reference and/or turns out they were asked to add a random girl instead because Reiko was not what they were asked for initially. I wouldn't blame them (the artist), tbh. Especially knowing how, *sigh* imagine doing over 90 different illustrations for the DVD releases in total (rental, retail with 'limited edition composing of TWO extra images for the box and the extra content). I mean. I MEAN. (And I'm pretty sure this was handled to different illustrators and not just ONE of them, but... ugh... you know? it's not exactly a walk in the park)
3) Maybe the anime staff did ask for Reiko to be on that cover, but they backtracked before the illustration was finished. She appears in that arc, afterall (although her interactions in the arc aren't TOO meaningful besides a few lines but, hey, it also explains why Yabasawa is in this illustration) but, the little I do remember seeing of screencaps at the time leaves too much to be desired about her appearance.
A personal conspirative hypothesis? that I still have all these years is that the anime staff, at a point after Reiko's "make over" ep, wanted to make her "scarier" and "uglier" than her manga counterpart, whom already was looking scary and ghostly-like, because biases, I freaking guess... and she specifically standing up to Switch's side (w/o bickering or not getting along) was... maybe ship teasing/inducing? (when it was clearly obvious whom THEY shipped him with... HUH, who said that?) Part of me wants to pick up the crumbs and be a little delulu, because I mean, the possibilities of this random girl originally being Reiko is just... too good to be true, I suppose. But this whole thought somewhat.. fits too much to be a coincidence, I guess? The appearance between them is similar (she is around that height if she isn't hunching, as well) and I imagine this would be how she would look like (or dress, even) if she wasn't drawn all ghostly or "plain" like. The girl in this "photograph" like cover being a random girl that wasn't heavily featured in the (manga) arc itself seems a little suspicious to me?
The thing, again, is that I don't have any further context from the anime adaptation of this arc and trying to look back into it is hard these days because this is an early 2010s anime and many ppl that were fans have moved on (blogs are abandoned, some are still available to look at) while newer watchers/readers are becoming lesser because they prefer to watch newer or more popular "content" (also, something about availability, I don't know if CR STILL has it... and definitely I will not be paying for Anime Onegai just for satiate my curiosity since I think? they got the (re)license of this anime for Latam in the past few years; I could try to find this specific anime arc and watch it myself through less legit ways, but I admit I am a bit lazy and new laptop stuff is...).
Why writing this now? Well... tbh, I know no one will care about this specific observation, and it is just me making it because I do find it curious and perhaps I'm just delusional about things. I just wanted to let it out there, because I do find it interesting and I find it a shame that there weren't more observational posts about the home media releases of this anime, especially because I find it interesting that the ED album cover that homages one of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' albums' cover is not the only homage the anime staff did to real stuff out there (tbf, this still being released in the "2-3 eps per single volume" home media release era, and costing over 5000 yen each and the JPN copyright stuff about not reproducing certain things unless crappy pics from early 2010s phones... social media accounts disappearing from the face of earth for a variety of reasons, etc...).
(also, I do find the retail DVD limited edition front covers kind of ugly, like, not all, but... lmao; some look a little sexualized for my liking and the ones from the second season that are head profiles from a certain angle are TRYING to get the whole concept for them, but MAN... do they TRY)
#kao's ramblings#sket dance#this whole overthought post has been debunked but I do feel a certain way about the dvd cover regardless of everything

The dark harvest
PT 11
Ryu was awake, his guardians were around him since the visiting hours had started. He silently ate the hospital food that he was provided.
"Don't worry Ryu you'll be discharged soon, we also talked to the police." Yuuki said as he leaned back in the chair. "Mhm.." Ryu didn't really have any strength to reply much. As Sam was sitting on Ryu's bed he snuck him some banana milk. And Ryu immediately snatched it up. "Thank you" he said as he sipped on it. He hated the bland hospital food.
As they talked and kept Ryu company the door to his hospital room opened suddenly. As they turned to see who it is none of them recognised the teen. Except for Ryu.
"Donomic?" He said quietly. "Uhm hey.." Ryu looked at his guardians. "Aight. Out please" they all looked at eachother but listened to Ryu as they shuffled out of his room.
"Why'd you come?" He simply asked as he kept his eyes on the older teen as he sat down on the chair that Yuuki was previously in.
"Well. The public doesn't know anything so I'm here to ask." He sighed as he pushed his hair back.
"Why would i tell you? Doesn't daddy dearest have connections?" He batted his eyelashes mockingly.
"You're lucky you're hurt right now or else I would have made you eat your words. And yes he does have connections but I'm not going to use them, I'm not a spoiled brat." He scoffs and Ryu rolls his eyes and leans back in his bed.
"So this is just you satiating you curiousity?"
Donomic sighed and leaned forward in his seat. "Sure, let's say that. Now are you going to tell me?" Ryu stayed silent for a moment.
"I don't know."
"... What."
Ryu started to ramble as he looked at his lap, his hands were shaking but he didn't seem to notice.
"I don't know what it was. Some guy I think? He broke in. A-and he was bald and got into my room— he he looked like he was blind but he went for me- I– I had to jump out of the window. When I looked up he was just there staring and– and so I ran and ran until I fell.."
Donomic looked even more confused as he sat in his chair. The light from the ceiling was off so they were in darkness, the only thing providing slight light was the heart monitor, the beeping of it had picked up steadily as Ryu stammered and talked.
"Hey."
Ryu looked up at him, his pupils blown and dilated. It almost looked scary but donomic knew it was just the adrenaline.
"Listen.. the cops will get the guy– What if it's not a human?" He suddenly interrupted Donomic. Which annoyed him but he calmed himself. "What do you mean?"
"You know what I mean. What then? Is there anyway to even keep it away?"
Ryu clutched the thin hospital bed sheet as he stared at Donomic.
"I- I don't know. We'd have to know what it is first.." He looks away. It was strange, he usually held eye contact. He hated that he couldn't stare back at Ryu. It unnerved him– He unnerved.
"Right..."
They sat in silence for a few minutes. Even though it felt like hours, eventually donomic spoke up again, his voice slightly hoarse and shaky from the whole thing. "You.. uhm. You could come over to my place once you're better. So we can.. talk." He fixed his collar, he felt like he couldn't breathe properly on this situation. Why was he getting so creeped out by this kid?
"Uhm.. yeah okay.." Ryu looked at how donomic fixed his collar, maybe it was a nervous tic? He didn't know. Not that he cared all that much. He just wanted to not be alone.. didn't matter who it was..
....
A few hours later he finally got discharged. The doctors did all the evaluations and they let him go after seeing that he had no head trauma. Or something like that, he wasn't really listening.
He was curled up on the couch, under Sam's arm as the others conversed. He was trying to get comfortable but he could feel the dull throbbing pain on the side of his face. He hated the fact that he had to wait for the strict time of when he could take the painkillers.
Something caught his eye as he was complaining in his head. A book or maybe a journal? It was sticking out of Yuuki's bag. He was suprised. He never saw that before, before he could even moves to look at it or ask about it Yuuki closed his bag.
Oh now this he had to see. Of course when Yuuki wasn't around. He turned back into the conversation, "So yeah I was thinking about fixing up the gate? It is pretty old" Santos said as he leaned back on the couch. "Yeah I'll help when I'm not busy" Yuuki immediately chimed in.
"What kinda metal is it?" Ryu murmured quietly, it hurt to move his face. He didn't have to worry about that in the hospital since they had him on those painkillers.
"Oh.. uh I think it's iron and silver?"
Yuuki replied. Ryu was silent. Silver, silver is in the gate?
"Right.. I hope it holds up" he curls up more laying down on Sam's lap. Maybe he could sleep..
He felt Sam's hand carding through his hair as he closed his eyes. This just got so much more messed up, he hoped they wouldn't replace the gate with normal metal..
Well. At least he was out of that hospital, no more of that lump in his throat from seeing those fucking needles and feeling them getting jabbed in his arm.
He shivered as he remembered.
He hated it, so so much.

Hey I got a very twisted AU idea. What if Idia and Ortho had ended up switching places aka. Ortho’s the grieving brother while Idia being the one to get killed by the phantom instead(and then getting a robotic counterpart instead). How’s that going to shake up the plot especially if Ortho still technically the housewarden of Ignihyde somehow?(bonus if you not only take the canon route but also the Double Isekai way where Idia instead meets with Yuuki)
I'll give you the secret 3rd option ;3
Also, this isn't related to the ask or my take on it, but there is this great swap au by /patchyegg87 here. They have a few more fun aus that I reccomend, but this one in particular is also tied in to your ask, anon, so I said maybe you'll like some variety in takes on it :3
Now onto the angst :3
Imagine pulling the fnaf au premise I had, but with a different flavour for the cannon :'3
You can say that Idia died. Like cannonically he was slaughtered by the phanthom while trying to prtect his little brother instead of getting stuck in tartarus(that would be a flavour of blot king au :'3). Ortho was clearly 2 years younger, a bit too young to fully process what happened.
BUT! Because of the intensive desire to protect, young age and also a lot of magic bullshit I'm too lazy to elaborate on now, Idia becomes a specter. One that Ortho could see and no one else. Idia himself was haunting his little brother out of his will to keep him safe, both unaware of how messed up everything was. Even their parents didn't believe Ortho at first when he told them that his big brother was there and he was listening and seeing everything.
A few months later and Idia discovers he can move objects. He was pretty weak so he couldn't move heavy things or even crayons, but he could write on foggy mirrors or through finger painting. Someone could feel if Idia poked their cheeks, mostly also feeling very cold.
So when finally Ortho proves his case, the whole situation daunts over him. His brother was a specter. It means his brother died for the sole purpose of protecting Ortho. That's when guilt follows up.
Out of guilt, Ortho manages to build a robot body for Idia to inhabit. His brother had now a material form and could do a lot of things a normal human couldn't, but still it was a cold touch and no matter what Ortho tried, as a specter or not, Idia still was cold, stripped away from his humanity and just a remnant of someone that once was warm and happy without a care in the world. He had to pretend that he was a mere machine at NRC, where Ortho entered 2 years earlier on special condition. He was 12 when he started high-school so there is always that awkwardness when he ends up introducing to others who were clearly older and saw him as just some rich prodigy kid.
Even when Kalim came, as insanely rich but only accepted when of right age, Ortho still didn't escape that label. As a response, Idia grew to be a bit more mean, to patch up his brother's incapability of showing hostility like the other students.
Despite everything, Ortho still tries to be more outgoing and active. He believes big brother wouldn't want to see him laze up around(althrough Idia was totally fine with it, just not be sad), so he does his best and try to socialise. More than anything, it goes down in the trenches of awkwardness, but there's the attempt that counts. Ortho is just absolutely horrible at maintaining bonds since everyone simply saw him as a young kid and therefore just a nuisance.
So for his 3rd year, Idia suggests to take a new approach: omit things. Don't say that he's a 3rd year or that he's a dormhead. Don't mention the fact that the early enrollement was on a special condition, just hide little truths that won't hurt anyone. None of the new faces would ask since they would immediately assume he was a 1st year. :v
And it fucking works :0c
Deuce was Ortho's first proper buddy. They got along great and both had fun hanging out together on the first day. Then we meet Ace, we get sum teasing, Idia and Ace rile each other up and a statue gets scorched.
yep... socialising is gud T-Tb
Idia also likes to scare the crap out of Adeuce. Since the group spirals into ending up going to the mines, there is the phanthom there and Idia's robot body battery dies. That battery was mostly for charging up magic beams and energy for the internet search engines/connection to other devices, so Idia pretty much pretends to 'shut down' only to raise back up just to scare the living daylights out of adeuce. They do end up fainting from either the shock or the tiredness. you pick. :'3
Ortho returns to NRC and his first excuse is 'these aren't corpses, I swear-'
It does end up with Ortho having to fess up to Adeuce about his situation and why Idia can just raise up even when the battery is dead. He still omits that he's a 3rd year or a dormhead for the matter, hoping that the better he puts up with the 2, the less would be the hurt when they find out the fact that he was a grade skipper on special condition. (in ortho's defense, he was homeschooled :'3)
Cue shenaningans of a 3rd year Ignyhyde dormhead trying to pretend he's a 1st year. :'3
Damn I wanna draw this so bad now :'3

[OOC Note: Pelipper Mail, Musharna Mail and variants are on. Magic anons are off.]
Intro Post, the Third
what does it say about me that I need three of these...?
that our life is zubatshit.
probably. uh.
Hi! We're Miyo Hamasaki, at least that's what we're using. Since there's. Two Miyos and also I'm the Host.
might get like. a middle name or something, if we ever decide on one.
That's Fragment by way. I contain multitudes, multiple dudes and also a dragon.
I'm 20 years old and a Giratina Hybrid. Kind of. Tis Complicated™.
We sort of. Fused together following an Incident with an Alpha Rapidash that I am choosing not to think about.
Uh, hello? I'm gonna put mine here. I'm Minato Yuuki. I'm 16 years old, like Ace, and I share his Wild Card cuz I gave up my own. That means I'm kinda linked to somewhere else important, so I won't be around sometimes? Knowing my life, probably on Full Moons.
... Hi, I'm Ace (or Kagami), I. Also share the body. I'm a Wild Card (that's a Persona user), which has done some funky things to our Distortion powers.
Still recovering from that amnesia, by the way. I still can't remember anything from before I was 17 with a whole lot of clarity.
doesn't help that our mindscape keeps getting wrecked via Pelipper Mail.
... Anyway.
We are currently in Alola.
Specifically, the one with Ash Ketchum in it. Not entirely sure which year? Never asked. We haven't gotten all the details on the situation yet in general, but this seems like it might actually be half a vacation, sort of. Hallelujah.
(At this point, it's easier to just pack our Team under the cut.)
Hi. My name is Tohru Adachi, I'm 31 unfortunately, and I used to be one of the Wild Cards from my universe. Unlike Minato, I won't vanish, because we didn't use my body for. Where he's going to vanish to. Anyway. If you think you recognise my name - you probably do, and it's definitely not me.
I'm also what I've gathered is called an "eebydeeby". 'Belonging to a Trainer' is something of an awkward concept, though Miyo does have a Pokeball that's keyed to me. Because Bulbasaur are rare and I'd rather be registered to someone I know than be caught by some random kid. Thanks to Xerneas, I can transform between Bulbasaur and Venusaur at will, which is pretty neat.
(And thanks to Miyo, I can choose to be shaped like a six year old child.)
[Last edited - July 17th, 2024, according to our phone. That's not the date where we actually are, but who cares.]
Alter Appearances and Team are under the cut!
Our team is frankly enormous, but here it is anyway, in no particular order:
Nami our (Hisuian) Samurott, Akira the Umbreon, Milady the (Alpha) Sneasler, Conductor the Chandelure, Thera the therapy Sylveon, Hanabi the Cinderace, Aoki the Greninja, Hime the Gardevoir, Passenger the Galvantula, Yuri the Staraptor, Kuroko the Corviknight, Hiko the Infernape, Avalanche the Absol, Linux the Arcanine, Nino the Flygon, Annie the Mismagius, Isle the West Sea Gastrodon, Elias the Raichu, Jet the Altaria, Cymbal the Togepi, Tsubasa the Talonflame, Cylla the Aegislash and of course my starter Prima, a Shiny Roserade. (That is twenty-three Mons. Dear Legends.)
[Alter Introductions]
HOST: Miyo Hamasaki (age: 20, male, he/him)
I type in plain text!
CO-FRONTS (Protector): Fragment (age: ???, non-binary they/it)

- undecided so far is the overarching tag for the Sinnoh Anime Nonsense, but there's several smaller tags already? so incorporating all of that'll be. fun.

- #the unova paradox introduces the Other Adachi (I call him Warden Adachi) via the Adachi Swap. Also Miyo mentors Hilda through most of a Pokémon Black run
- #iwatodai reload is where the newest alter joins Miyo! After. you know. Hell aka Persona 3 Reload.
- and finally, the currently ongoing #ultra vacation ! Miyo is back in the anime and I am. Low on spoons for him so he'll stay here for a while, probably.

Decorate♥Crimson Chocolat Festival Epilogue One
Aww~ My junior got his beloved girl, a great accomplishment. I guess I’ll congratulate him even if it’s hard for me~?
Cast: Koga, Kaoru, Rei, Keito, Kuro, Souma
Author: Yuuki Yoshino
Season: Winter
Koga: Hyah! Finally, it’s our time to shine!
Kaoru: Hey, hey, Koga-kun. What’s Adonis-kun upto?
Koga: Eh? Adonis has been lookin’ at some crushed up box for a while. It’s probably gotta do with Anzu and chocolates or somethin’.
Kaoru: You think so too!? Ugh, there’s so many things I have to ask Adonis-kun, like why on Earth is the box crushed.
But, when he looks at the box with such fondness, it just feels wrong to ask so bluntly about the situation.
Aww~ My junior got his beloved girl, a great accomplishment. I guess I’ll congratulate him even if it’s hard for me~?
Rei: Kaoru-kun, you’re talking like a nice, understanding, senpai, but…
That box he so fondly admires isn’t from Lady Anzu.
Kaoru: Wh, Then who gave it to him…? How do you even know that, Sakuma-san?
Rei: Kukuku, I’ve been here long enough, and I know all that happens.
More importantly, Kaoru-kun wants to know who exactly got him that box of chocolates.
It is a gift from his beloved child, you see.
Kaoru: Beloved… Child?
Rei: Tenma-kun. Adonis’s cute junior. That is the person behind the chocolates. You can breathe easy now.
As a side note, it seems like Tenma-kun enlisted Lady Anzu’s help in making the chocolates.
He asked her to not tell his seniors that he was thinking about giving them all chocolates.
Kaoru: Huh, so that was why… Anzu-chan was acting so strangely because…
Rei: That’s right. It’s because she was so dedicated to keeping her promise to Tenma-kun that it caused a peculiar misunderstanding.
Kaoru: Ah… So it’s like that..
Koga: Oi, vampire bastard! Hakaze-senpai! Adonis too!
The Knights finished and AKATSUKI took to the stage, and everyone’s ravin’ about how fuckin’ spectacular it is!
It’s apparently nothin’ like their usual shtick, but still somethin’ good. All these females are makin’ a big fuss about it, just as much as the Knights performance!

Keito: How could I be anybody else? And, hey, you’re also performing in a completely different manner that I never thought possible. When you turned around to give the audience that look…
Kuro: Oh, I’ve been practicin’ ever since Hakaze taught me. At first I was scared ‘bout the staring part…

Funny that, weren’t they the ones who taught us all our moves?

The Ichinose Family's deadly sins chapters 28-30
I know that they've been out for a while but the site I use only got them literally today.
I'm very much so reeling. Just three chapters that are hitting, which isn't surprising considering how much I like the whole story.
Anywayz I've got thoughts on Sota and his role in the story. He closely follows the idea of a guardian angel, but I'm not sure he's dead. I understand why it'd seem that way, because of the guardian angel theme and the fact literally no one in the family wants to talk about him. I just kinda don't want him to be dead, for no other reason then wanting him to achieve his dreams.
In terms of like his current role it feels like he's meant to be Everything Good in the family, and after he leaves the family kinda falls apart. I just think the emphasis on how much he does for the family is meant to show that. And now in the current plot, Tsubasa is getting pushed into this same role.
I'm super excited to see about Shiori though, her being not only aware but actively researching the dream after Tsubasa brings up the guy (who's name I have forgotten entirely) she was "dating". I'm especially interested in that because of her saying she never told Tsubasa about that.
My current theory of how he knew is that he (for whatever reason) read through some of his messages with Shiori. Without full knowledge the situation gets twisted into "My sister spends all her time talking to a strange adult man." I say this because the dream seems to be a large exaggeration of the real world where Tsubasa can actually fulfill his brothers role.
In the dream, Sota only comes back once their dad leaves, which feels super important. Especially considering that he directly replaces him. He seems o be the most invested in Tsubasa too. Wanting to skip the conference with Grandpa to go to Tsubasa's soccer game, taking him to the movies, walking him home from soccer. I imagine that the dream is a reflection of how Sota became a father figure to Tsubasa while their dad was more busy.
I suspect that the dream is some unexplainable supernatural experience, both real and not real. It's a safe place where Tsubasa can fix his family and Sota can still be there while pursuing his dreams. It's also a reflection of reality and how Tsubasa feels about his life. I think it's interesting for Sota to be the most aware of the dream and it's rules. I'd suspect that unlike the others, Sota was More aware of the dream from the "start", maybe even influencing it himself.
Sota's influence is based on the two ways the Yuuki situation play out. In Tsubsa's ideal world, he gets revenge and then the two make up. Interestingly enough, he doesn't seem to really care about how anyone else treats him as none of them are named or important enough to also be redeemed. But once Sota enters the loop, Yuuki continues to be bullied and Sota informs the school.
I feel like this shows a difference in perspective, and on what Tsubasa and Sota would consider an "ideal" ending to the situation. Tsubasa wants to get his best friend back, and Sota wants Yuuki to be properly punished for bullying Tsubasa.
But I feel like Yuuki being effectively removed from that loop is part of it as well. Yuuki was actually helpful in figuring out what was going on with Shiori (side note, but I guess his partial enthusiasm for it was based on him and Tsubasa seeing Charlies Angels together), so it's possible Sota was trying to prevent Tsubasa from learning more. Which seems to be his overall goal in the dreams.
If I were to give an actual explanation to the dreams, I think it has to do more with Sota than Tsubasa (only barely). He seems to play a role in keeping the dream going, trying to keep everyone unaware. He has a particular interest in making sure Tsubasa doesn't become aware.
Overall, still loving the chapters and I'm excited for information on Sachiko and whatever she's doing.

Machina - Epilogue 1
Location: Machina Backstage Characters: Mika, Shuu, Makoto & Sora
< A few weeks later. Backstage at “Valkyrie’s” concert venue. >
Sora: HaHa~ HiHi~ HuHu~!
There are a lot of things backstage, so it’s exciting to just look at it all~♪
Makoto: It’s dangerous for you to move around so much like that, Harukawa-kun.
There are all sorts of filming equipment here, so its position might be shifted even if you move it just a little. It might be good to stay still for a bit.
Sora: Ah, Sora suddenly felt super excited!
Sora didn’t expect to be called backstage for a “Valkyrie” concert. It’s different from “Switch” and really interesting~♪
Makoto: Ahaha. I also doubted my ears when I first heard that the theme of their performance was a cross between digital technology and art.
The game company person apologised for the whole “Test World” incident.
And those two ended up asking them to provide projected images for the performance. It feels like a pretty strange coincidence.
Sora: But thanks to that, we got to experience the latest technology, so it’s a win-win situation for us!
We were able to borrow and use expensive equipment that we normally wouldn’t be able to. Sora is looking forward to seeing how the performance will turn out~♪
Mika: Ngh. Oh, Sora-kun and Mako-kun. So this is where you two were. I thought you’d have gone back to your reserved seats.
Thanks for bringin’ in the equipment too. The staff also really appreciated it.
Sora: No worries. Sora also caused some trouble for Mika-chan-san. So Sora supposes it’s to make up for that~?
It helped get rid of Mika-chan-san’s slump halfway, but everything was a mess at the very end.
Makoto: It really was an extraordinary raid boss fight~
It was pretty fun but it still means that Kagehira-kun’s hard work was left unsettled. Helping out is the least I could do.
…Or so I say but as an equipment geek, I can’t lie and say I wasn’t completely uninterested in a concert that uses the latest technology. Sorry for mixing my private hobbies into my work.
Mika: It’s alright, I don’t mind at all. It’s just the two of us so we’d really appreciate the help.
Besides, I got to learn a lotta stuff about digital things from the “Test World”. I’m glad I got to experience both the pros and cons of it ♪
Sora: HeHe~ Then Sora is glad!
Sora sees you’ve already changed into your performance outfit and you’re raring to go, Mika-chan-san~♪
Mika: Yeah. Oshi-san did a full maintenance on me, so I’m all good in that aspect.
If anythin’, I’m more worried ‘bout the equipment. We suffered greatly ‘cause of an incident with our equipment before… Oshi-san hasn’t said anythin’, but it seems he’s worried ‘bout it.
I figured I could do a final check since I finished gettin’ ready first. There’s no harm in over-checkin’ things, right?
Makoto: Yeah. It’ll be a huge issue if you become too immersed in the new thing before us and forget to think about the risks.
…Well, it feels a bit weird to say that since “Trickstar” won’t be satisfied unless we always do something new.
Sora: Rest assured! “Switch” is also passionate about that sort of thing!
As long as Sora and Yuuki-sensei are here, we should be able to prevent any equipment issues~☆
Mika: Ahaha. Yeah, you’re super reliable, you two.
All jokes aside, I really appreciate the help. It’s all thanks to people like you guys that “Valkyrie” can further pursue our own art.
I’d be happy if you’d stay for the whole concert ♪
Shuu: Kagehira. It’s almost time. You should keep that nervousness with you.
“Machina” is a new performance that makes use of our experience in the VR world.
The performance effects will be projected onto several monitors, so it’s a performance where a lot more things will need to be controlled as opposed to usual.
Mika: Ahaha. I’ll make sure to do a proper job, so don’t worry, Oshi-san.
Shuu: Hmph. If you’re fine enough to say something lighthearted like that, then you’ll have the carpet pulled from underneath you.
Well, I’ll place my trust in your independence today. You’re no longer someone who chases after me endlessly, after all.
Independence and responsibility go hand in hand – You need to work even harder than usual.
Mika: Ngh~... Oshi-san, you’re still sayin’ the same things to me.
Well, I guess that makes it easier for me too. I can hold my head up high when I see Oshi-san’s eyes sparklin’.
Let’s make a lovely piece of art, Oshi-san ♪
Shuu: Right. We’ll be sure to accomplish today’s theme.
We’ll take hold of everything, govern it all and express it with our performance – We won’t let the Deus Ex Machina stand in our way.

Everyone is frozen like a statue. You must be surprised because it was so sudden. However, I won't wait for an answer.

Well, with it feeling as if we're one-sidedly ordered around in a condescending manner, I can understand that it doesn't sit well with you.
If this reality of ours were to be compared to a shogi<ref>[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shogi Shogi]. Also known as "Japanese chess".</ref> board, I'd say we have already lost almost all our pieces. We'll just corner ourselves by moving thoughtlessly.
Eichi: Hehe, it's good to be young. You must be thinking nothing is impossible. But I'd be happy if you would forget that presumption for a moment and think about this calmly.
Isara-kun, since you are smart, I am sure you will be able to properly weigh what's in your best interests.
Mao: … …
Eichi: There is a reason I am hurrying you. We are planning to hold a certain event soon.
I want to take care of everything before that. In truth, we should already be starting to move things right now.
Our schedule is packed. Although I am sorry to trouble you due to my situation, I have been hospitalized for a long time, after all.
I have a mountain of things that I want to do, that I have to do.
I don't have the time to keep playing around with you forever. If you are still willing to fight then I will use all available methods to crush you.
I am not kind like Keito.
Hehe, to make it easier to consider, I'll lay down some more cards.
Yuuki Makoto-kun.
Makoto: M-M-Me? Wh-what is it?
Eichi: I would like it if you wouldn't be so scared, I am no tyrant. I always act while thinking of the well-being of the students of Yumenosaki Academy.
Yuuki-kun, let me tell it to you straight. The unit that can bring out your charms to the fullest isn't Trickstar, it's Knights.
In that unit there are Narukami-kun and Sena-kun, who even in this industry are considered as excellent gravure models.
There exists a system in which your talents can be used to their full extent. Because of the way it is in Knights, you will be able to blossom.
Isn't it the correct decision to prepare an even better stage for you in order to prepare you for your next step?
Makoto: Being a gravure model…
Eichi: It isn't as if I'm saying you should return to being a gravure model. I'm only proposing it would serve you better to stay in an environment where you can use your talents to their fullest.
That environment is Knights.
If you just stay in Trickstar, you would be wasting your talents. It would just be killing your talent. Are you fine with being in the shadows forever?
At this rate, you will be in the others' shadows forever.
Makoto: … …
Eichi: You should lay down a long term life plan. Look at what's ahead and accordingly act in the best way possible.
That is my philosophy at least.
The reason that our country falls behind in the entertainment business compared to other countries is because we focus on the individual instead of focusing on the whole picture.
Foreign countries depend on a system. They create a shoulder to lean on, improve their facilities, accumulate know-how, and with that, improve the quality of entertainment.
They efficiently use their funds and form a system.
Our country's entertainment business, including our idol business, have been sluggish in this regard.
Individuals get rewarded for their performances, but the system remains unsatisfactory.
Some do get popular on the fly and become a hot topic, but the reason is unknown. No statistics are made. They are just counting on the fact that one of many will be a hit.
But this is executed so unskillfully, you can hardly even call it gambling.
No system is made to create these topics; people are just getting excited seeing who will be a hit and who won't.
When putting in enough money, you can easily make people happy, but that is nothing but a waste of money.
They're just throwing money in the trash; nothing will be gained like that.
If I had to compare, then I would say it's like martial arts in foreign countries but just a brawl in ours. As long as they try hard enough, then it is also possible for the ones brawling to win for a moment.
However when looking at it long term, martial arts which has been perfected inside a system is stronger. When perfected, a system will excel more than any genius individual.
In the end it's like fighting a fighter plane with a bamboo stick. It's too late to change our ways when we already no longer have a chance to win.
We don't need any geniuses, we don't need any mighty warriors who can beat a thousand by themselves: it's mass-produced and properly trained normal soldiers who will win one day for certain.
That's what it means to focus on the system.

P5R: Rebel Girl (A FeMC Story/P5R Rework) Chapter 204: Knees Deep
As Makoto and Eiko arrived at school on Saturday, Makoto saw something that caught her attention. “Hey,” she said, “I have some student council business to take care of. See you in class?”
“Totally!” Eiko said. She gave her a peck on the cheek and headed off.
Makoto rubbed her cheek gently before walking over to the person she needed to talk to. “Hey,” she said firmly, but gently.
Mishima turned around. “Oh, uh, hey Niijima. What’s up?”
“Well, I’ve been talking with the rest of the student council,” Makoto began, “and we’ve decided to offer you an invitation to join.”
Mishima was shocked. “Wha wha WHAT?!”
Makoto nodded. “We think you’d be a huge asset.”
“Um, not to doubt you, but why?” Mishima wondered. “I mean, I’m nothing entirely special.”
“I disagree,” Makoto said. “You are an incredible fact finder. You have an immense knowledge of how the internet works, so you can help tackle problems from that angle. You are determined to help when you’re asked. And you have a good ability to talk with others.
Of course, we are aware of some of your shortcomings, such as being prone to jealousy, lacking a focus at times, and hesitancy to accept blame in certain situations. Not to mention your grades.” Mishima frowned. “But we think we can help you overcome all of that if you were to join.”
Mishima was confused. “You…really think so?”
“Absolutely,” Makoto said. “I know what it’s like to become part of a group and grow because of it. And we at the student council know your strengths, so it’s just a matter of helping that along.”
“Hmmmm,” Mishima pondered. “Do you mind if I think about it? I mean, I appreciate the offer, but, well, I’ve never even considered something like this.”
Makoto nodded. “Of course.” She walked off, leaving Mishima deep in thought.
He spent the rest of the day pondering this new avenue. Mostly, he was surprised by hearing both his ups and downs in a concise manner. But would he go for it? It was an interesting idea, and based on what Makoto said, it was tailored to his strengths. Or at least, more than volleyball was. And then it hit him. He knew what he had to do.
While the volleyball team was back, he hadn’t gone to the initial practice. He decided to go today to help get some clarity. He performed just about as well as he expected, which is to say not too bad, but nowhere near everyone else’s level. Still, he managed.
After practice, once he left the locker room, he started looking around. “Hey,” Shiho said.
“Gah!”Mishima said. He sighed. “Sorry. You scared me.” Shiho giggled. “Although, I did want to talk to you.”
“I wanted to talk to you as well,” Shiho said. “I’m glad you’re rejoining the volleyball team.”
“Well, that’s the thing,” Mishima said. Shiho grew concerned. “I’m…not sure if I will.”
Shiho was even more concerned. “How come?”
Mishima sighed. “I mean, well, you at least know part of the answer.” Shiho nodded, all too aware of what Mishima meant. “But also, like I said in Hawaii, I don’t know if my heart is in it. I only stuck with it for so long to stay close by your side. And then because I was a coward, I almost lost you.”
“Yuuki…” Shiho replied.
“But after the whole Kamoshida incident, I resolved to better myself,” Mishima said. “And while it has been a bumpy road, with some help, I think I’m getting there.”
“Well,” Shiho responded, “you know we’ll help you if you decide to stick it out.”
“Well, that’s another thing,” Mishima said. He sighed. “I was invited to join a different club.”
“Which one?” Shiho asked.
“The student council,” Mishima answered.
Shiho was surprised. “Wow.” Mishima nodded. “I think you can do it.”
Mishima was surprised. “You…really think so?”
Shiho nodded back. “I mean, I’ve known you for a long time. You can do anything if you put your mind to it.”
“Well, I mean, I haven’t put my mind too much,” Mishima said, undercutting himself.
“You stuck with volleyball just to remain close with me,” Shiho said. “I think that shows you just what you can do when you put your mind to it.”
“Huh,” Mishima said. “Hmmm.” He smirked. “You know, I've always been a little jealous of you.”
“Me?” Shiho said.
Mishima nodded. “You were never afraid to say what’s on your mind. You always see the good in people. You show determination. Meanwhile, I’ve always taken the coward’s way out. At least, until recently. But I was always hoping things would go my way without making it happen for fear that if I screwed up I’d have lost everything.”
Shiho smiled. “That’s very sweet of you to say. But I think you’re better than you give yourself credit for.”
“Maybe,” Mishima said. “But even so, I don’t think I’m half as amazing as you.”
“Oh stop,” Shiho said.
“I mean it,” Mishima said. “I really do.” He paused slightly before sighing. “I guess this has to be the first step.” Shiho was curious. “I mentioned hoping things would go my way without me taking action. Well me being part of the volleyball team has been that. But if I’m not going tobe a part of it going forward, I think I need to say this: I think I love you Shiho Suzui.”
Shiho turned red. “What?”
“I think I love you,” Mishima said. “I think I always have. Like, I said I remained a part of the volleyball team just to be closer with you, but we’ve been going to the same school for a long time now. Plus, we have phones and the internet now. It would have been easy just to remain friends. But I was kind of hoping to be more than that, which is why I stuck with volleyball. I was hoping you’d notice me and like me too. But I guess that didn’t quite work as intended. So that’s why I’m saying it now.”
Shiho was processing this. “Wow. Ummmmm. Wow.”
“Eh heh,” Mishima chuckled nervously. “I’m sorry. That might have been too much. Well, uh, I guess I have my answer.”
He tried leaving, but Shiho grabbed his sleeve, preventing him from doing so. He turned towards her to see her red face spouting tears. “Hold on just a second,” she instructed. Mishima fully turned towards her, as she let go. “I…think we have the same issue.” Mishima was confused. “I was kind of always hoping you’d tell me this, but when you never did, I just thought it was a fantasy of mine. And then with the whole Kamoshida thing, I…I…” she sighed, “I sort of felt like damaged goods, you know?”
“Shiho…” Mishima replied.
“So hearing that you like me,” Shiho continued, wiping a tear, “and you always have, well, it’s simply divine.”
Mishima grew determined. He grasped Shiho’s shoulders. “I’m sorry. I didn’t do everything I could have to stop Kamoshida’s worst instincts.” Tears started dripping from his eyes. “I’m sorry I wasn’t a better friend. You’re not ‘damaged goods’. You’re a shining beacon of hope that I look to whenever I feel down. I’ve been far too weak for far too long. But I don’t want you to feel like that. So, while I might not have been the best friend, if you’d let me, I’ll try and be the best boyfriend I can be.”
Shiho was in awe. She wiped her tears. “Yes.” She wrapped her arms around his head. They pulled each other in, and shared a kiss. Mishima was still a little uncertain about whether to join the student council, but he knew that whatever he decided, he’d come out the other side stronger.

this is my hopeful thought process as well, that as Yoshiki’s drifts farther away from being human, his empathy and feelings drift away too.
But we really can’t know until someone of importance dies.
The thing is- every person who’s died post vol3 gets a reason to undercut the audience’s sympathy. Old man Takeda dies and the scene that reveals this follows up with ‘actually it’s okay he died. I’m relieved’ from his son, the one person expected to have an emotional response, which kind of cuts the audience’s sympathy off there because nobody is upset about this. He died and that’s sad but it didn’t affect anyone so like- move on I guess. The YouTuber who dies in the tunnel is made out to be an idiot who fucked around and found out and also Kurebayashi doesn’t really react either. The school intruder is pointed out to be human, talked about as person who’s been entered (ignoring that Yoshiki is also a person who’s been entered), and never brought up again. The next time we’re at school you would’ve never thought that someone broke in, stabbed a teacher, and killed himself there a week ago because we’re all hunky-dory.
Compare this to Matsuura’s death. Maki calls her death ‘gruesome’, we learn the specifics of it and it’s clearly a terrible way to go. Yuuki brings up how her daughter burst into tears at the scene. It gets brought up multiple times afterwards— mostly as an example as impurities increasing because everybody knows her death was unnatural.
So until someone like Maki dies, a death that the manga won’t just dismiss, and we see Yoshiki’s and everyone else’s response, we can’t really know the intention.
(I think scene before they enter the indoh family shrine is a good example of where it’s clear that Yoshiki is pushing down his emotions surrounding a situation in order to continue the research project. ‘hikaru’ tries to push the conversation but Yoshiki dismisses it and we get focus on his bruises, which have always been a metaphor for his mental trauma. I guess it could be argued that the whole Yoshiki studying after the school intruder, ‘the tv in the room over is so loud’, and ‘I don’t wanna think about that…’ are more examples but truly just feel different. The idea that Yoshiki would dismiss other people’s pain the same way he’d dismiss his own is… well it doesn’t feel like Yoshiki to me.)
Hgsn volume 4 and 5’s scary moments feel completely pointless which is a wild thing to think about with a horror story
Think about it, what impact has any of the recent attacks had on Yoshiki and “Hikaru”? There is 0 reflection on any of the attacks. With their personalities in the first 3 volumes you’d think Yoshiki would start depending on “Hikaru” even more as he starts realising that no where is safe from impurities and that “Hikaru” would get even more obsessed with Yoshiki and be terrified to let him out of sight. But this never comes up. The village getting worse is seen as this hypothetical that’ll happen if they don’t figure things out and not as something that is already happening.
Their lack of reaction makes them feel out of character
#The main problem to me isn’t that only Yoshiki dismisses it because then I’d agree#But when everyone around dismisses it too- it’s starts to feel less like a character choice and more like the plot has no time for this#hikaru ga shinda natsu#the summer hikaru died#hgsn#hgsn spoilers

Nice Work If You Can Get It! - Mini Interview with Yuzuka Rei
My translation of Yuzuka Rei’s interview on the success of Nice Work If You Can Get It, in the April issue of Takarazuka Graph!
Enjoy!
The Broadway Musical “Nice Work If You Can Get It” is a Romantic Comedy. What was it like to perform?
Ahh, it’s a really fun show isn’t it! Although we are still dealing with such troubled times (corona virus) I’m so thankful for being part of this production because I really feel that seeing people smile and hearing people laugh has the power to heal.
It’s the kind of play where every single line needs to be gone over repeatedly, paying attention to every detail. But, despite those difficulties, we all really enjoyed ourselves, and it really helped to strengthen us as a team.
There are so many unique characters aren’t there?
Personally, Eileen (Towaki Sea) was my favourite because she was just so cute! (laughs) After all, isn’t the fact she uses her whole body to express her happiness at being taken on her honeymoon just the cutest thing? You’d want to do anything to please her after that! Eileen makes some very funny gestures as the “Master of Modern Dance”, and in rehearsals her repertoire of dance moves kept increasing. Whenever I noticed her unconsciously behaving in a funny way, I would request she do it on stage too (laughs).
Billie (Hana Yuuki) is independent, smart, feminine and broad minded, whilst also being super cool! I’d love to have the opportunity to play her some day. I think Billie’s feelings will touch the audience’s hearts when they watch the show, because every time we were on stage I was so inspired by Hana-chan’s heartfelt performance.
What was the role of Jimmy like to play?
Jimmy is an awful man! (laughs)
On his honeymoon night he’s alone hugging his teddy, then at his wedding to Eileen, he’s all dressed up in a tux whilst still having thoughts of Billie...
So that he didn’t become unpleasant I made sure to add a sort of charm that would make him come across as endearing and loveable instead.
Any Memorable scenes?
There are too many scenes to choose from!
I loved the back and forth I had in the bedroom scene with Yuu-chan (Natori Rei) as Officer Berry and Billie. And I also loved the song I had with all the girls whilst Eileen was having her super long bath called “It’s All Okay!” (Original English title “I’ve got to be there”). When you take a step back and think about it, it’s definitely not an “OK” situation at all! (laughs) But it was refreshing to be able to go that far and shake free from conventions and be so careless.
Also the tap dancing was really fun! Whilst I was rushing about on stage for almost the entirety of act one, I had to also quickly change into tap shoes for the dance numbers! I got a lot of exercise!
The final number of act one is another highlight!
So that no one discovers the illegal alcohol hidden in the basement, we all use the power of song and dance to distract everyone and make sure they don’t get anywhere near it. It very much feels like something that could only happen in a musical! (laughs)
But I didn’t want to rely on the fact that “It’s a musical, so anything can happen” and so whilst performing I was always making sure to connect to the hearts of the audience so they wouldn’t leave thinking “Well that was sudden, I don’t understand why they did that”.
Another one, is the song “Dododo” from the scene I have with Billie before the wedding lunch. Whilst I sing the happy number I play the ukulele, it’s a scene full of warmth. I love it.
The Gershwin's had many famous songs
The music is so good isn’t it? I was so happy to be surrounded by their songs every day. At a time where many of us felt cooped up and isolated, I think being in the rich and drunkenly joyful world of the Gershwin’s music empowered us all.
Were there any differences between the Tokyo and Osaka shows?
As the performances went on, everyone got more and more into their roles. And as such, any unnecessary things were refined and our interpretations of lines and how we played the roles became more convincing. Rather than thinking about how best to present ourselves, we focused on how to make the audience feel the genius of the play as a whole. We found that there were some moments we would continue to change based on what we noticed made the audience laugh. We also had to consider how to keep the show enjoyable for those who kept coming back to see us, as well as those who were seeing the show for the first time. We did our best in every performance to show the emotions between the lines, valuing each word whilst not being taken over by the audience’s laughter.
Now rehearsals for the Grand Theatre production “Augustus - the illustrious one - /Cool Beast!!” have begun, how do you feel?
It’s my first time taking centre stage in a new and original “drama/revue” show, so I’m very excited for how it turns out!
Augustus, who I play, is said to have been the one to the lay the foundation for the government system we now have today, he was a man with great intelligence and an incredible vision. It’s been so valuable for me to be able to study up on this man who created a new era in history, and I’m really looking forward to the challenge of bringing his story to life on the Takarazuka stage.
Daisuke Sensei, who is directing the revue part of the show, has been looking after me ever since my first production in the Flower Troupe, “Exciter!!”, so I’m overjoyed to be performing a new revue written by him. It will be Kazuya-san and Hana-chan’s final show so it’s bitter sweet, but I hope that on the last day, we can end our time together, shoulder to shoulder, saying “We had a blast!”.

Secret Service: GLOBALISM Chapter 4
Season: Winter Author: Akira Characters: Kohaku, Hiyori, Jun Proofed by: gigi (EN)
<Hours later, in Kyuushu>
Kohaku: —To make a long story short, I came all the way out here to teach Madara-han a lesson.
Jun: No no no……. Coming here is a big ‘NO’. Traveling to other areas during the qualifying round is prohibited, isn’t it? Are you gonna be okay, Sakura-kun?
Kohaku: It ain’t okay, exactly, but I’ve managed to cobble some things together in order to help ensure things go smoothly.
I’ve asked my older sister, who’s real talented at makin’ disguises, to temporarily switch places with me一
And just in case my rule-breakin’ gets found out, it seems like Rinne-han has some dirty tricks up his sleeves.
He looked like he was behavin’ himself all this time, but in reality, he’s already prepared a couple of things.
In fact, he got mad at me for not tellin’ him earlier. If you're going to do something bad, you need to be ready for anything, y’know, and all that.
Jun: Up to no good again, Crazy:B?
Kohaku: Hmm. If you wanna think of something that opposes justice as being ‘evil’, then yeah, Crazy:B is evil.
However ... We're on the side of the idols and the fans who support them. Don't worry, it won't turn out to be a sad story for everyone.
Jun: Haaa... I don’t really get it, but I don't think we have the right to interfere with your situation, do we?
As your friend, I don't want to see you get into any kind of serious trouble.
Kohaku: I'm sorry. At the very least, I'll be careful not to cause you guys grief.
First of all, tell me where Madara-han is and I'll be on my way—if you know anythin’ about his whereabouts, please let me know.
I came all the way out here to beat the stuffing outta him, but I don’t have the foggiest clue of where to find him.
He's probably somewhere in Shikoku. Shikoku’s a huge island though, so I was hoping to have some idea of where to look first.
Right now, Madara-han is working with Adam, ain’t he? If that's the case, I was wonderin’ if I could trace them back from Eve, who’re also in Eden.
Jun: Aha, so that’s why you came looking for us, even though we’ve been staying put at the inn this whole time.
But unfortunately, as I said on the phone yesterday, we don't know where Adam is or what they’re doing.
Adam—or rather, Ibara—is stubbornly keeping us on the straight and narrow, preferring to do the dirty work all by themselves.
Kohaku: …
Jun: So, while I'm sure there's some bad stuff going on somewhere—I don't know much more about it than that. I'm sorry I can’t be of more help.
Kohaku: That's fine. I thought it was somethin’ I couldn’t discuss over HoldHands, so I had to come see you in person just to be sure.
Jun: Ibara’s the same way. I was wondering why everyone stopped using HoldHands as frequently after the qualifying round started, especially since it’s so convenient.
Kohaku: Rather than sayin’ that others don't use it anymore, it's more that they don't talk about important matters on there anymore.
Because of the way HoldHands works, conversations that take place there go straight to the top brass of ES.
Those who don’t have any trust in the folks in charge of ES or the management shouldn’t use HoldHands, just in case.
Jun: Hmm, so it's like an information war.
I guess that’s the right choice, if even people who are good at that kind of stuff like Yuuki-san and Ibara choose to avoid using HoldHands.
Kohaku: Yuuki-san’s that guy from Trickstar, ain’t he?
He couldn’t use HoldHands even if he wanted to, considerin’ that they confiscated his phone before throwin’ him into the jungle. (1)
Jun: A lot of units have been thrown into some pretty reckless situations this time...
The feel of SS has changed a ton this year, hasn't it? It wasn't like that at all last year.
The more serious units who thought it would be the same as last year and prepared themselves in advance must be having a hard time this around, right?
On the other hand, for newcomers who don't know anything about idols and aren't interested in the history of idols, this year's development is in their favour. Isn't "Crazy:B" in a position like that?
Kohaku: Nnn~ Rinne-han and HiMERU-han are actin’ surprisingly old-fashioned, so they've been complaining on and on about it nonstop. As for Niki-han and I, we’ve been enjoyin’ it normally up till now.
We’ve been watching the live broadcasts from other areas, and laughin’ till our stomachs hurt.
If it were simply idols singin’ and dancin’, we probably wouldn't have had the slightest interest in it until last year.
It would be like watchin’ a match at Koshien Stadium for people who don't know anythin’ about baseball—we sure wouldn’t have enjoyed it all that much.
There's a whole lotta variety this year, so it's mighty fun to watch. Isn’t it this way so that even people who don't know much about idols can enjoy it and be entertained?
Jun: I guess so. My whole life has revolved around the concept of idols up till now, so I've watched SS with great interest every year.
From this year onwards, it seems like the plan is to try and involve the general public as a whole, not only the so-called idol otaku.
It seems like ES wants to conquer the world with idols, so I guess it's a necessary process.
Kohaku: That's right. Most of the people living on this planet aren’t the least bit interested in idols.
Moving forward, if we want to make a breakthrough in the future, we need to attract that kind of broader demographic.
If we just keep doing what we've always done, we'll eventually hit our limit.
Jun: That’s right, I know. There are just so many things to do and things to think about, it’s hard~... I'm not the handy type at all.
By making it a nationwide festival and involving the general public, I feel that conventional wisdom is no longer being applied, and it's a little scary. Honestly—
—Geh. Sorry, Sakura-kun. I've been complaining about something stupid, haven't I?
Kohaku: Haha, it’s fine. It seems like Jun-han’s been caged up in the inn for a long time, so he must be feeling pretty mad and resentful.
Jun: That's right. Right now, I have to be on standby for any request for help, but I wish I could go take a break somewhere.
Hiyori: If that’s the case, then let’s all go for a trip together!
Jun: ...... Ah? What's with the sudden appearance, Ohii-san?
And what do you mean? Can't you speak in a way that makes sense?
Hiyori: Yes! Not a robot, I am!
Kohaku: Oh, hello there. Sorry for the bother.
Hiyori: Yes, welcome~ ♪ Thank you for always playing with this Jun-kun of mine, Kohaku-kun!
Jun: What are you, my parent?—And what do you mean by “go for a trip”? Aren’t we already on a trip away from home right now?
Hiyori: Non, non! Being holed up in an inn and soaking in hot springs all the time can’t be called a trip just by itself, even though there are some trips that focus solely on this type of comfort!
I want to go around to see more of the sights and sample some of the local delicacies!
And after that, take lots of pictures for the memories, and then buy more souvenirs than we can carry—
That’s the kind of trip I want to go on! We’ve got a lot of time, don’t we?
It all works out, we’ve got the wherewithal to go on a trip like this~♪.
Jun: … … ?

Why do I sudden want some kind of reunion between Reverse Idia and Reverse Orpheus, like possibly near the end of the “Shadybug and Claw noir” event, maybe some kind of magical portal opens by itself(and wow to definitely rub it in the Supreme’s face) it was to Reverse Twst(lots of screaming from the Aces plus Deuces shouting “Who the f**k are you” and some certain other students). And boom reunion between Reverse Idia and Reverse Orpheus too :D, it’ll be just as confusing and angsty as the OG’s reunion but yet at the same time wholesome too(bonus if Reverse Orpheus’s hair turns into a full head of blue fire from that)
HMmmmmmMMMM
Anon I did think of it for a bit... since I recieved a few more asks that, at least in this part, nod to the very same outcome. So I thought of answering all of them in this one, bc it's the same response and it would be much easier for everyone to have 1 singular and sturdy explanation for how this reverse event ends. :3
Reverse Orpheus's hair returns to the normal blue fire due to the og Orpheus actually. So naturally, he would have questions for his counterpart who apparently does know why these supranatural differences are not a sub-effect of a broken miraculous or anything else.
Og Orpheus also doesn't know to how much extent this dimension bullshit can go, but he breaks it to his reverse counterpart about everything that was his twst adventure with yuuki. What the fire hair means and how much there will be to unpack. He cannot guarrante that it would be a 1:1 replica of the events, but he reassures that as long as reverse orpheus wants to pursue the truth about himself, he will have to push and fight, but he will get victorious at one point.
So by the end of the adventure, reverse orpheus has a heart to heart with his family regarding the situation and what he would want to do regarding his heritage and from where is he exactly.
Cue 1 peacock miraculous, a supportive and feral reverse Yuuki to the side and we have the much more calm and floofy adventures of reverse twst. This is more of reverse orpheus actively looking for his ancestry, unlike how our og Orpheus actively was in denial and went through all stages of grief over it. This time reverse orpheus hada key to go back along Yuuki and go in between since start. :'3
In here, the meeting with idia and ortho is actually fluffy. At first, Idia is in disbelief, but comes around it. It's made clear that already Ortho was his own person and more or so was initially created to serve as someone who can and has the opportunity to help and do good for everyone. It is a bit awkward at first, but they are pretty much getting along as friends first before jumping to other more family-like titles.
as for og twst and reverse meeting, mayhaps not. They would be so much like 'hai!! let's be friends :3' and 'ewww'. That's it. the whole thing summed up :'3
As for the reverse segment of the au, imma pull a ben 10 au and throw this one to ya'll to do whatever your heart desires with it. mostly since this au has the reverse episode as only a small part of it. :'3
