The Unremembered Empire (HH Vol. 27)
You know a book is good when you start and finish it in one afternoon/evening. Now, not exactly an achievement since it's only a bit above 200 pages, but dang does Dan Abnett just know his craft. There's a bunch of Horus Heresy novels where nothing happens except for one or two very specific things - and then there are books where everything happens all at once. This one is the second kind.
There is just one nitpick I have with it - Guiliman's decision in the end plan the execution of the last remaining loyalist Word Bearer just is so utterly stupid? Our boy has been competent and smart the whole book, and then such a petty move? Let's hope that does not happen once the storyline proceeds some volumes down the line.
The most curious part about this book is that it retrospectively increases the quality of the book that came before it. In isolation "Vulkan Lives" was pretty mid in my opinion (to the point I did not even make a post about it once I finished it) although the scene of Curze getting decked was surely satisfying - but almost every important storyline from that book gets continued here, and it gives those storylines the conclusions they so desperatly needed.
John Grammaticus was actually interesting for once too, as opposed to just being the reader's window into the 3rd party forces of the Heresy. Makes me wonder what the hell Eldrad is planning that he explicitly goes against the Cabal's plans...?
Aside from that Primarch interactions galore - Roboute is so tired tryin to do the right thing, the Lion is an asshole, Curze is one massive bastard, and Vulkan is so lost in the sauce mentally he exists now only to beat the aformentioned bastard into the dirt which is very satisfying.
Oh and we meet Roboute's mother! Even when she is officially only revealed as such late in the book, but of course I knew the name already. I wonder how the reveal works for people that don't already are semi-deep in the lore like me.
Also Imperial Fist Pollux and loyalist Iron Warrior Dantioch are gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. I cannot stress how gay they are. Dantioch figured out the teleportation properties of the Pharos device because it was his most honest wish to save Pollux's life, and Pollux decides to stay with him in the end on Sotha. Spacemarine friendship can be interpreted as pretty homoerotic sometimes, but these boys don't need any interpretation. I hope we read more of them in the future.

Fantrolldex Daily Round-Up #2
Another day, another round-up of recent submissions to the fantrolldex.
Today, we had 4 new contributors and 8 new submissions, bringing the total up to 21 Poketrolls!
Just to let everyone know that we would prefer for any submissions to not be made anonymously, because it makes it more difficult for us to figure out if we’ve obtained permission from the character’s owner to include their poketroll on this blog. If we receive any anonymous submissions, we will DM the creator just to double check if they’re happy for us to add their character to the list.
We have updated the rules page to include this new addition.
Stats
Currently, we have seen 21 total poketrolls, and catalogued 20 unique poketrolls.
The most popular pokemon to be fantrollified at the moment is Hisuian Zoroark, with 2 entries! We love our evil foxes full of malicious illusions here.
The most popular type at the moment is normal, with 5 poketrolls. Currently, we have not catalogued a single grass, poison, ground, bug, or rock type Pokemon!
The most popular generation at the moment is generation 4 (Sinnoh), with 4 poketrolls, however generations 2, 7, and 8 are all very close behind. Currently, the only generation not represented so far is gen 9.
We have also now catalogued 4 out of 8 eeveelutions!
Finally, we have catalogued our very first shiny poketroll, how lucky!

Stunning Cobra amulet pendant on a very heavy Snake chain, 925 Silver Hallmarked, this piece weighs over 80gms. Here’s some interesting historical info regarding the symbolism of Cobras and snakes over the centuries. While many people hope to never encounter a snake in real life, motifs of slithering serpents have been used in jewellery and fashion for centuries and look quite alluring. Snakes are in fact one of the earliest symbols used in many cultures and religions and symbolises many different things. Snakes also appear a lot in mythology where they symbolise anything from fertility to evil. Here are some well known and lesser known eras in history where symbolic snake jewellery was very prevalent. Snakes in Ancient Egypt Ancient Egypt was probably the first culture to heavily adopt the use if snakes in jewellery. During this era serpents symbolised deity and royalty so it was no surprise many Pharos wore remarkable snake pendants to represent their status. Not only were snakes included in body jewellery, but these motifs were also engraved in the headdresses of Kings and Queens. Cobras can even be seen carved into the side of many pyramids that remain today! Snakes in Greek and Roman Mythology The story of the gorgon medusa is one of the most popular Greek myths which features snakes and emphasises the importance of snake symbolism in this era. Serpents are a recurring symbol in Greek and Roman mythology as they represent an array of different things. In early Greek mythology snakes were often portrayed as guardians of the underworld and symbolised the good and evil. In later stories snakes became associated with protection and healing and were used Greek mythology to represent renewal, growth and fertility. Many people of this time believed wearing snake jewellery would cure them of a sickness. Check out my FB page for more historical info, instagram won’t let me write any more 🤠 #cobra #snake #egyptian #victorian #greek #greekmythology #renaissance #artnouveau #roman #romanmythology #silver #snakechain #pendant #amulet #skewen https://www.instagram.com/p/ChSVnFNs4d-/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Loved the historically accurate Achilles/Patroclus!!! Can you post the sources for the reference art you used?
Oh boy anon I’m so glad you asked, you bet I can.
So, part of this started seeing Madeline Miller respond on twitter to that now famous tweet which highlights a section of “The Song of Achilles” where Patroclus mentions “His skin was the color of freshly pressed olive oil”. Someone thought this was funny, and posted an image of bright green olive oil.
Miller found the tweet though and responded with some great articles (For those of you wondering no she didn’t mean green, someone later on in the tweets posted a link to brown olive oil which is what she was clearly referencing in the book) - https://twitter.com/MillerMadeline/status/1307088379344048128?s=20
-First this one which describes how the backlash against Black Achilles in “Troy Fall of a City” was uncalled for, because it is very historically possible if Achilles did exist (and was not just a myth) he could’ve been black, and was at least dark skinned https://pages.vassar.edu/pharos/2018/05/18/scholars-respond-to-racist-backlash-against-black-achilles-part-2-what-did-achilles-look-like/
-In addition, there is this article which describes how the Greeks viewed color. https://aeon.co/essays/can-we-hope-to-understand-how-the-greeks-saw-their-world
Additionally, a lot of art/films of the Illiad tend to place it with Hellenistic Greek Costumes, instead of Mycenaean Greece which is when Historians placed the Iliad would’ve happened, 1250BCE, far before Hellenistic Greece.
So that lead me to looking up Mycenaean frescos which I directly referenced and color grabbed from for skin and hair values for Achilles and Patroclus.

https://www.archaeology.org/issues/352-1909/features/7900-greece-pylos-mycenaean-warrior-grave
(This is from a warrior’s tomb, and shows the long curls and type of skirts men wore)
https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/G_1851-0806-15 This is one of the oldest *labled* descriptions of Achilles we have from 500 BCE (so still a LONG time after Achilles’ time) And he is seen with a beard, as you will see in other depictions on this site if you search for him.
(also cool thing, if you look at enough of these you start to pick a little ancient Greek-you can see his name up there is usually one that starts with Ax)
This one is apparently Odysseus and is even older from the 600BCEs, again showing brown (faded from the photo) skin and dark curly hair
I don’t recall the book this was from, but it’s a recreation of Mycenaean armor:
Another fresco I referenced.
An example of the common Ancient Greek profile which showed a long nose, with a flat brow bone often seen in statues
https://www.dreamstime.com/stock-photo-ancient-greek-bronze-statue-profile-high-quality-reproduction-charioteer-original-which-image84989001
https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/search?keyword=greek&keyword=statue&technique=carved&view=grid&sort=object_name__asc&page=1 More examples of curly hair and noses that not small British European
And this one (where a wider nose was most likely deliberately smashed by white archeologists who didn’t like it’s depiction of non-whiteness-happened a lot in Egypt too!) https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/G_1873-0320-4
And I did do some looking up of People of Color with lighter hair to see what the values look like:
Lastly the most famous image of two, Achilles tending to Paroclus’ arm. Here we see a beardless Achilles as art styles change and cultures vary: http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/artifact?name=Berlin+F+2278&object=vase
And all of that lead to this:
hope this helps! Happy to elaborate on anything! (And yes that’s eyeliner, Alexander the Great wore it to keep away insects and Egyptians used it to keep the sun from their eyes-I can’t see why Trojan Warriors wouldn’t!)

My MegaTen Nendo’s guide (WIP)
(Titled WIP because I don’t have every Megaten char listed nor all Megaten games/entries listed, so there will be constant updates to this) Also spoilers (characters and forms) will be in here you’ve been warned.
So if Atlus won’t give me a collection of MegaTen nendos then I WILL! This will be a guide using existing parts. (Not so) Easiest way around this is learning to mold clay and sew clothes but I’m not at that point atm so we’re gonna focus on using existing parts+painting them if we need to.
So this isn’t a complete-complete guide. Some chars might not have the right parts available yet (such as, Yukari’s hair), if that’s the case I’ll mark it as N/A. But if there is a char from another franchise that could suite a Megaten char later, and is likely to get a nendo but it doesn’t exist yet (such as a char I found who would be great for Izanami’s hair), I’ll mark it as “N/A(x)” to link to the character of that franchise so you get an idea/someone to look out for.
If a part needs to be painted I’ll label it as “x*”, if there are more than one possible candidates for something it’ll have something like (x,x) showing both candidates. Links will either be to the good smile char themselves, or to a google search (the latter only for chars that are more likely to get nendos than the Megaten guys, but aren’t announced yet), maaaaybe the amazon page if I forget to go to the goodsmile page. If it is a faceplate that needs altering it’ll be labeled with two **’s, meaning you either need to paint it on or use some form of sticker (Sho’s scars and Maki’s mole comes to mind, no nendo has it in those places)
The list will be the Game’s name, followed by a bullet list of chars, it’ll be framed like this:
Game:
Char 1: hair (x*,x), body (x), faces (x)
Char 2: hair (x), body N/A, faces N/A(x)
Chars that already exist (Aigis, Yukiko, Teddie, Jack Frost, Black Frost, Pyro Jack, PT sans Sumi and Black Mask ver, and Hibiki) will not be listed since they already exist.
Gakurans are hard to come by tbh, which stinks since they are used for A LOT of the male nendos in Megaten (school uniform that is). If you do get one I recommend learning to mold (you’ll probs wanna for SMT3MC’s hair and for the frost five). If you need a Gakuran (aka for male P1/4 cast, Raidou, SMTVMC+other’s) then I recommend this guy (x or x), with the P4 cast I’ll try to find something closer to the non winter school uniform. You can always do the the undershirt under the gakuran (just a white button up shirt) like so x

The Griffin & Sabine Trilogy by Nick Bantock
“You and I, my love, are the freaks.”
The trilogy, written and illustrated by Nick Bantock, follows the correspondence of two artists with a mysterious telepathic connection. The story begins when Sabine Strohem, an illustrator from the South Pacific, is finally able to contact Griffin Moss, an artist from London. Sabine has been able to see his art appear in her mind as he works since she was fifteen years old. She sends him a handmade postcard with a mysterious message and he responds with curiosity. As they discuss their strange connection in a series of postcards and letters, Griffin and Sabine surrender details about their lives to one another. Revealing worries, hopes, and sketches, they find themselves in the midst of an unbridled romance despite being miles apart and having never met. The reader’s focus is split between the riveting mystery of Griffin and Sabine and the mesmerizing illustrations that accompany the story.
Spoilers ahead ~
I was fortunate enough to come across this gem of a series at the Friends of the Library Book Sale at my mother’s recommendation and read all three books one Saturday morning. Griffin and Sabine’s story is mysterious, romantic, and decorated with lovely art. The way Bantock has gone about telling this story is quite compelling - on each page there is either an envelope or a postcard to read, addressed from one character to the other. Early on in their correspondence, Griffin reveals his loneliness, and Sabine urges him to be gentle with himself. With all previous notions of logic turned upside down by the sudden appearance of Sabine, he questions everything and becomes paranoid. At the end of the first book, he comes to the conclusion that Sabine is a figment of his imagination to distract Griffin from his depression. And yet on the next page is another postcard from Sabine, proving she is real.
In the second book, Sabine’s Notebook: In Which The Extraordinary Correspondence of Griffin & Sabine Continues, Griffin embarks on a journey to flee the unknown and discover his fate along the way, inviting Sabine to stay in his house while he is gone. The book reveals not only Griffin’s bizarre adventures and discoveries but also Sabine’s musings and sketches while she waits for her lover. Their connection deepens and becomes more intimate as Griffin is forced to confront his reality.
When Griffin returns at the beginning of The Golden Mean: In Which the Extraordinary Correspondence of Griffin and Sabine Continues, he does not find Sabine waiting for him. Their time in his house overlaps, but they are unable to reach one another. Disheartened by this, they each search for a reason, wondering about parallel universes and some higher power testing their tenacity. Separated by a mysterious gap but still determined to find each other, they are interrupted by a visitor to Sabine’s island who contacts Griffin. This antagonistic figure named Victor Frolatti interrogates both Griffin and Sabine about their relationship and earns their deepest mistrust. As he grows more persistent, Sabine’s vision fades. Griffin and Sabine are desperate for one another and finally agree to meet on middle ground. The book concludes with a final mysterious postcard addressed to Dr. Matthew Sedon in Kenya from Sabine after five years without evidence of contact between the two artists.
If this book was as captivating to you as it was to me, you’ll be happy to know it has been followed with The Morning Star Trilogy (2001-2003) and The Pharos Gate: Griffin and Sabine's Lost Correspondence (2016). Check back for an upcoming review of the rest of the saga!
Happy reading! ~Raia

They are the investigators, the explorers, the scientists, and sometimes police of our new magical frontier.
The majority of the settings RP takes place in New York and South America at present. There is a Pharos HQ in NY where others are, but stuff could also involve characters going to South America, going on missions, etc. To learn mroe about Pharos and the types of individuals associated with it please visit THIS LINK. Currently there’s only one canon being sought - though original chars are more than welcome - but if interested she can be found HERE.

Re: Spiritfarer [Steam] Post by HeathenGator » Tue Sep 01, pm fearlessrevolution actually made a trainer for the game a couple days ago, not sure which versions it works on exactly, but the options look promising. Would've been hella useful if I didn't already finish the game by the time he got around to it Re: Spiritfarer [Steam] Post by Pur » Sat Oct 17, am The options in the app for faster cooking and fishing rod don't work anymore. Re: Spiritfarer [Steam] Post by Pur » Mon Oct 19, am Also I want to add that apparetnly something broke by using the fast travel cheat, because I'm not able to cook at all, the dish is never ready. Table update 7 Added script for plants to grow instantly. Havent tested on orchards yet as I haven't hit that point of the game quite yet. Modified infinite items to always give 10k items. Compiled other user scripts into table. You can find it in [Other Users Scripts], thanks to the original creators for those. You can find links in this topic Table update 5 Added SpiritData Table update 4 Added boat speed pointer Table update 3 Added script to allow you to instantly cook any meal. I'll add more as I progress through the game. May or may not work on steam releases.
