4, 16, 17, 21 for the writers meme
4. what are some of examples of storytelling that inspires you outside of books?
Film sounds like a cheap answer but it's true. People often talk about how "You can't do this with books" when it comes to film media and in some ways they are correct, but there's other things I love to play with when I write to emulate how film tells stories. Like using paragraphs as a sort of camera cut system. Or writing stories in the format of like a TV series rather than just a solid story. Things like that.
16. do you write any particular genre? how do you feel about genre categories in general? love them? want to combine them? want to do away with them altogether?
I do not and my disconnect from genre is kind of a major problem when it comes to publishing because publishers very much want your works to fit into genres. That's not me saying that my works don't cause they're too zany or unique but I never write with a genre in mind so when it comes around to saying "what genre is this" I ?? do not have an answer. I think genres are good for categorizing thing and knowing what kind of stories you like, but like everything else in life trying to keep things in neat boxes rarely works perfectly. Like is Dead and Demised a mystery considering you find out the murderer right off the bat? Is it a supernatural story despite the fact you're strictly in the ghosts POV the whole time??? shrug
17. at what point in the process do you come up with titles, and how easy or hard is that for you?
Depends what I'm writing? Though in most cases I will not actually write the work until I have a title. With books this is rarely a problem cause I take my time working on outlines and then decide on a title. With one shots I may get part way through a work before deciding on what I want the title to be. I like thinking of the title early on cause I feel like it gives me a direction, and gives me the chance to layer in the meanings as I go hehe.
21. BIG ask: what do you think is the most important component of a good story?
Characters. Characters. Characters. If your characters suck everything else sucks I don't care what you have going on. And like this isn't saying the characters have to be super deep or have a huge backstory but you gotta make them compelling, interesting, let us understand their motives behind their actions, and keep it consistent. Your plot can be the most basic shit ever but if the characters good I am here.

I’m not someone that particularly cares about a ship being canon or not, in fact I would rather the media I consume have no romance at all (giving my blog confusing yes I know)
But there is something about the canon ties between Shanks and Mihawk that drives me feral with need to see what their whole deal is.
Because like there are so many little inconsequential details that when taking separately seem pathetic and weak. But then put together it feels like it paints the picture of a larger undeniable connection and understanding between two wildly different men.
The fact that their main color is both red (Mihawk’s is a more wine dark red than Shanks’ bright red and a little more “subtle” given that Shanks is literally called red hair) but even then their main symbols, their identifying features, are red! Mihawk’s eyes and Shanks hair (yes while I love the gold and think that’s better I cannot ignore the fact that Oda consistently colors in Mihawk’s eyes red even though the gold is infinitely more popular)
They have the same birthday, are practically the same height, both with the promises to our two main protagonists to meet them at the top with a parting “gift”, both serve as a mentor to the protagonist (mihawk literally thought zoro how to kill him 😭), both with the bird(ish) iconography.
The fact that Mihawk, Mihawk! A man whose introduction was that he didn’t care much about anything and caused destruction on a whim, cares enough about what Shanks thinks to mentally apologize before trying to kill luffy (what the fuck).
The fact that whitebeard felt the need to reference his duel with Mihawk in his conversation with Shanks, despite not really being very relevant to the conversation and the fact that this is the first we’ve seen shanks in years and it is brought up in the same context as his relationship with Buggy (an already established relationship) reveals his relationship to Roger seems to point to the fact that this duel between Mihawk and Shanks is an important relationship to shanks. It couldn’t just be to show strength because he was about to clash with whitebeard the strongest man. It’s also hard to notice that those two relationships didn’t end particularly well for shanks.
Also the fact that it was Mihawk out of every character , Mihawk that brought luffy’s bounty to Shanks. Something he obviously knew would mean a lot to him. I used to think the scene was just there to show us how big a deal Shanks actually is like look at that fun childish alcoholic gang inspired our main hero? He’s actually a super big deal and he used to spar with the strongest character by far we had seen at that point (it wasn’t even close) and they fought on equal footing. It added a new layer of mystery to Shanks.
But it’s also the fact that even now with Mihawk’s bounty Shanks was mentioned and he’s the only one who this was mentioned for. Crocodile is just for his df and intelligence and they don’t mention that he literally tried and almost succeeded in subjugating a country and he was beat by luffy “or smoker given how many marines actually know the truth” even buggy who was literally Shanks’ sworn brother under the pirate king doesn’t get a mention like that. But Shanks and this duel is so integral to Mihawk’s character that it’s mentioned along with the only other long lasting fact we know about him and that is that he is the World’s Strongest Swordsman. Isn’t that fucking insane.
And like I feel insane scrapping all these details together as proof of something because they are all (besides the duel) the barest bones of a connection but god it is actually driving me insane.
And I’m not saying Mishanks is going to become canon or that it should or that I even particularly want it too. What I do want is to see how deeply these two are connected. What are these red strings of fate tying them to each other. Why can’t apparently ten years of little contact sever it? I swear to god if it’s actually nothing much I will lose my fucking mind. If nothing ever comes of all of this I will actually go insane. How can some people look at this and not see foreshadowing!?!?!!

𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥-𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 !!
hi all i finally got around to trying to make a taglist! for anyone unfamiliar, perfect all-american bitch is a benedict bridgerton x reader fic i've been working on:
Tumblr media
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲. 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥-𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡
—the second son is stumbling in shoes two sizes too large, and everyone in the ton can see it. nothing could make things worse right now, not even the american nouveau riche girl dragging him across the cobblestones.
or: an AU where anthony and simon's duel ends in bloodshed, benedict becomes the viscount, and an american girl might just help him see in color again.
𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞. 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬'𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢 𝐝𝐢𝐞
—benedict's last moment of contentment before the storm that marooned his dreams.
𝐜𝐡. 𝐢. 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐦
—the gaudy, new money american girls make a splash while benedict tries desperately to keep his head above water.
𝐜𝐡. 𝐢𝐢. 𝐢 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭 -- coming soon!
—benedict might be getting dragged across the cobblestones right now, but at least his captor is an angel.
Tumblr media
if you want to be added to the taglist for this fic, interact with this post somehow (reblog, like, comment). you may also send me a message if you're more comfortable with that! you can always ask to be removed at any time. do not interact if you don't wanna be added OR if you are under 18, no minors allowed
here's a quick sneak peek under the cut of chapter ii. i scream inside to deal with it:
Tumblr media
Benedict began downing his drink as he walked away in large strides. He weaved through half-dressed partiers, painters with armfuls of supplies, and women dragging silk chiffon through the air. The whiskey filled his body with warmth, and clouded his mind pleasantly.
He thought for a second that he was going to get the last word. And then he heard the clacking of boots behind him, and almost smiled at his wrongness. It would be amusing if he were not trying to distance himself for her own good.
She had lost him briefly in the smoke clouds before spotting him around the corner. “Hey!”
“You should find your friends.”
“Slow down!” Whether she was referring to his pace of walking or drinking, she did not even know herself.
“It is honestly remarkable that nobody has burst in here looking for any of you yet.”
“Benedict, I’m sorry!”
They had come up to the front door now when he stopped and whirled around on her, bewildered. “Whatever for, Dovie?” He was the one who dumped all his baggage on her.
“I should not have asked about…that.”
“You have no reason to be sorry. I was the one who kept going on and on.”
“I would have stopped if I knew it was going to cause this much distress! I would have never even touched the subject. I wanted us to have a good night—”
He suddenly grabbed her face, firm but not forceful, stopping her rambling in its tracks. He was being too familiar with someone who was a stranger hours ago, but he needed to calm her mind and he was too far gone to realize just how intimate this was. “Hey. I’m alright,” he implored.
Tumblr media
if this piqued your interest, interact with this post or send me a message/ask to be added to the taglist!

Hi... long time no NnT-Analysis.
I want to talk about Lancelot and Tristan's dynamic. I'll be putting it under a read-more so I don't spam your dashboard.
Tumblr media
First, let's take a look at their designs.
Tristan's Signature Color: Blue-ish Teal
Lancelot's Signature Color: Pink-ish Red
According to color theory, these two colors complement one another. Nakaba utilizes complementary colors quite often in his designs. You'll notice this in many of the most important pairs. It's a visual way to emphasize the connection between two people.
The use of complementary colors goes as far as Lancelot's Sin disguise. When he takes that form, he wears a teal collar... Just like how Tristan wears a collar with Lancelot's red.
Both of them also got their hair colors from their mother, while the style is more similar to their fathers. They have what has been described as a "feminine" appearance. Lancelot is incredibly bothered by this, to the extent he tries really hard to present as masculine. Tristan on the other hand doesn't seem to be bothered by it himself.
Their first volume covers also mirror one another.
Tumblr media
Their namesakes are pulled from Arthurian mythos. In some of the original stories, Lancelot and Tristan do act similarly as friends who are "two sides of the same coin" in a way. Fated companions who counter one another.
Going into actual plot stuff now. The way their stories are intertwined, the particular tropes their relationship embodies, and why it's important.
The growth of both of their characters is often explored through their connection. For example, Lancelot first learned to read hearts while dueling Tristan.
Tumblr media
Ban references the moment Lancelot received his scar here. Tristan was so excited while dueling his friend, that he lost control of himself. The heightened emotions awakened the dark magic in him that he inherited from his father. Tristan blacked out, striking Lancelot.
This was a significant moment for both of them. Tristan and Lancelot both experienced an "awakening" here, which set them down their respective paths and cemented their bond.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lancelot is quite literally marked by him. With this scar, there will always be apart of him that is irreversible tied to his relationship with Tristan.
Additionally, the fact Tristan had hurt and permanently scarred Lancelot is what triggered Tristan's anxiety about fighting. It affected him so deeply that he began to fear combat, instead wanting to pursue a path of healing. So that it would never happen again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The bulk of this film takes place when they're both 14. Which is a few years after Lancelot initially went missing. He felt the need to hide his identity, but even in his disguise, he wanted to somehow push Tristan to his peak performance.
This illustrates how Lancelot never once viewed him as a threat. Tristan isn't a monster to him... He wants to see him exercise the strength that Tristan is so terrified of.
(I wish this site had CC, but Lancelot wolf-whistles at him before this line...)
Tumblr media
Lancelot knows Tristan well enough to be aware that these fears would hold him back in combat. He takes action when they fight together, pushing and prodding him until he is forced to conquer that fear and act.
Tristan's hesitancy comes from his care for Lancelot. He's terrified at the thought of ever hurting him-- or anyone-- again. Lancelot sees this differently. He views Tristan's attitude as if he's viewing Lancelot as someone weak who needs protection. He has faith in Tristan's strength and never doubts him. But that faith only makes things more complicated when Tristan avoids facing him. Lancelot knows he's capable and he wants to be his equal in that regard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Earlier, I referenced Ban's comment in the one-shot where he wonders if Lancelot's behavior at that time had to do with this duel. There's an implication that part of why Lancelot felt so restless and inadequate had to do with Tristan's rejection. This was worsened by the fact that Lancelot had learned to read hearts, so he could see what Tristan must've been thinking in that moment. Tristan's concern doesn't come from viewing Lancelot as weak, but that's how Lancelot interpreted his heart and his words.
Between that and being babied by his parents, he lashed out and ran away to "prove himself." Which is how he went missing to begin with.
He didn't want to stop like Tristan did. He wanted to keep going. Tristan's strength motivated him, but Tristan didn't return those feelings because of his own self-loathing.
In the end, Lancelot is the one who convinces Tristan to embrace his power. He vowed to be there to stop Tristan in case things ever go too far.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lancelot reads Tristan's heart in this moment and smiles to himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lancelot's love for his friend manifests through his desire to propel Tristan to his peak potential. Through Lancelot's affection, Tristan changes forever. His pure faith in Lancelot and his intentions was all he needed to conquer his fears. To him, he doesn't need to be worried about losing himself, because he has Lancelot.
Many years pass since this moment, but Tristan still views Lancelot as that anchor he needs by his side. Tristan's control over his power has grown significantly, but he still fears using it without Lancelot by his side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Something interesting about their dynamic in the present day is the way the dynamic has flipped. While Tristan respects Lancelot's power, now he is the one feeling weak in comparison. This is also a testament to the strength of their bond. While Tristan feels they're no longer "equal", it doesn't drive a wedge in their relationship. He isn't resentful or jealous, it doesn't push him away from Lancelot. Their bond is too strong for that.
Not to mention, what seems to bother him more than anything else is the fact that Lancelot won't discuss how he gained this new power. He's bothered by the way his friend vanished without a word for so long, and now refuses to talk about what happened.
Tumblr media
Regardless, this just means that Tristan trusts Lancelot's abilities without question. The moment he arrives, Tristan believes so strongly in his ability to win above anyone else. If anyone can defeat the King of Camelot, it will be his closest companion.
Tumblr media
Circling back to Lancelot being his anchor: This is pretty common in fantasy Shounen. Leading characters who possess dark magic often have a partner who they rely on to bring them back down, or stop them from going too far and losing themself. However, you usually see it between the leading male main character and the female secondary protagonist... In fact, this is the exact dynamic Meliodas and Elizabeth had with each other in the original manga.
This dynamic came up frequently whenever Meliodas went full-demon mode. But this page from the Holy War arc in particular really reminds me of Lancelot's line where he says he'll "beat Tristan into the dirt if he has to."
Tumblr media
Considering these two are Tristan's parents, you'd think the parallel with Tristan would be between him and Isolde, or something. But it's not. It's with Lancelot.
Their chemistry is so natural. They spend some time apart, but nothing really changes. The play off of each other so easily and understand each other so deeply.
Tumblr media
Lancelot teases him for a lot of things. Being air-headed, being childish around his parents, etc. But it isn't mean-spirited, and Tristan knows that. It's just an aspect of their relationship and one of the ways Lancelot shows affection to people. That's Tristan's best friend who is mean to him, but he still calls him by a cute little nickname ("Lance.")
Tumblr media
The implications that Tristan has called Lancelot out for being like his father before is really funny. Quick lines like this convey a lot about a relationship, it demonstrates that familiarity.
Tumblr media
I have a lot more I could say about them, but Tumblr apparently has a 30 image limit per-post. I'm just really excited to see what comes next for them in the timeskip. I suspect all of these building themes are going to come together in some pretty important ways the closer that we get to the main conflict of the sequel.
This analysis isn't necessarily meant to be shippy... But I do ship them, lol... ❤️

WELCOME TO PLAYTOWN/POPPY PLAYTOWN- CHARACTER REFERENCE #5.
CRAFTYCORN VAN CREATI - DESIGN AND DATA.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
INFORMATION AND DATA.
Name: CraftyCorn Van Creati.
Age: 22.
Height: 3'0 mts/9'8 fts.
Species: Smiling critter creature. Unicorn.
Occupation: half-time teacher/artist.
Genre: female (she, they).
Sexuality: pan.
Magical usser type: Witcher.
Birth place: Skylands (Elliot's Heights).
Birth day: april 2nd.
Personality:
The newly titled young witcher DeColorina, is a somewhat shy but enthusiastic lady. A person who usually looks at the beauty of things and can find charm and inspiration in the most common things; Unlike Dogday who grew up surrounded by the typical culture of witchers, Crafty grew up in a family that disowned them to the point that she ran away from home as a child just because she couldn't adapt to what they demanded of her.
She even finds it difficult to admit or carry the attitudes of a witcher such as using her magic so sporadically or the ability to cope with her treatment, which causes her to accidentally manifest her magic in a somewhat explosive way, but not harmful.
She is someone quite cultured, sometimes being a voice of information, translation or presentation in a complementary or alternative way to Bubba; and when she gains trust with someone she can talk about her love of art and plants, feeling freer to be able to use them without problems in the comfort of her studio or talking with people she truly trusts. She's Not only is she good at painting, but she is very skilled at creating sculptures and acting (although she is terrible at sewing)..
Although she is an affable and calm person, she has moments where she usually makes me very emotional, aggressive or explosive. Especially when it comes to things like duels or conflicts(being a recurring gag how he gets too involved in a situation like a sports game or a chase that he ends up helping one of her friends.).
Tumblr media
about her work and daily life.
Around half year before the events, the newly titled Witcher DeColorina, trained by the Witcher of "Crow" (Dogday's mother) in everything she could, went to Main City in search of repaying the kindness of the Sunnyhowl family to her.
Since she arrived in Main city, she works in a local kindergarten (because she cannot live on art alone, yet) where she works as a teacher with a group of 10 sisters who each work teaching a different subject; getting along better with the only one of the sisters who is also a witch, Poma Delight.
Depending on the situation, she works 5 days a week from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and on Saturday mornings.
In her free time she will spend it at her house (which she uses as a workshop) or at the restaurant. the piggyA recurring joke is that if it comes suddenly it is full of paint or leaves.
Magic data (and other skills):
Unlike Dogday, she has good combat skills, in addition to that she can defend herself in these ways:
- Quite fast analysis of situations.
- persuasion in difficult situations.
- if things get tense, a stick is also a good option to defend yourself.
- also be careful with his kicks; They are literally hard hats.
as a witcher, she has good handling; but not perfect of it. She still often has the habit of losing control in small ways.
Her title in magic is based on the 'orchidae die Decolorina' or 'Decolorina flower', a variant of the 'Salvae Terrae' or 'plant of salvation' from witcher mythology.
The 'orchidae di decolorina' is also called "royal bloom" because in ancient times it was considered the opposite of poppies and due to its rarity in its color palette it was considered more valuable than diamonds.
The uses that she gives to it are=
#1 plant flowering: this is the most common use you can give to your magic. but it can only give growth to plants that have flowers and fruits; Sometimes it is usually bigger than I expected or it is the wrong plant.
Tumblr media
#2 tracking with flowers: she can perceive people through flowers; She can't see them literally, it works more like a radar for "presences."
Tumblr media
#3 manipulating and giving life to plants by giving them small commands: similar to Dogday and probably learned from Mrs. Sunnyhowl; Crafty can give life and small commands to plants, although her command is "can you help crafty with...?"
Tumblr media
#4 give life to the paintings: as an extra skill with his love of art and his somewhat tight economic situation, he realized that by using crushed flowers and fruits, his paintings have a more striking finish, and sometimes when they continue cool ones react to your mood (scaring someone once you made them angry or scary)
Tumblr media
(funfact: For Picky's birthday he decided to take a portrait for her; However, while painting her, she had been scared after watching a movie by a certain "Tomie" and the painting of her unconsciously took on a similar appearance. Bubba thought her gift was in bad taste, but Picky was so delighted with it that she insisted on paying her a miniature version of theyself.)
Unlike Dogday, she has not yet mastered the voluntary form of overflowing, so she never resorts to that form... yet.
other random data:
favorite food: margarita pizza «especially the restaurant version of picky that includes real daisys *jiggles*»
Favorite dessert: Pavlova «creamy and delicious!!! especially with confided flowers!!»
hated food:haute cuisine, especially tenderloin Wellington «I have bad memories of haute cuisine in my biological home, it didn't help that most of my relatives were carnivores and it was disgusting»
smell: Jazmin.
strength: creativity, thinking outside the house, kindness
weakness: explosive, shy, low confidence
favorite physical appearance: long hair «At home they would have hated me for having it so long, but I love it and I can customize it however I want»
hated physical appearance: height and horn «I don't hate them per se, but it's very difficult for me to find clothes and especially hats without having problems»
person you respect most: Mr. Sunnyhowl's pack «I can't choose anyone from Didi's family over another! everyone was so sweet and kind to me that they treated me like part of her family! *ugly crying*»
person you don't want as an enemy: Bobby «I had bad sleeping habits, but the mere idea of her chasing me like she does Catnap terrifies me so much that I prefer to perform less but sleep well»
hobby:visit art galleries, gardening, participate in duels
Some crush?:«When I was younger I quite liked Dogday, but now I see him as an older brother. Now... I have seen a strange bounty hunter who... is cute... I would like to know more about him...»

Al!!!!!
Ok so...I know that right now a lot of you are going "Who the heck is this guy?" Please let me introduce to you Al. He appears very briefly in the comics, and he does look radically different. For one thing, he's an earth pony there. His coat color is also colorpicked from a skintone originally.
But Al is a direct reference to a character named Al from the old 1989 series "Quantum Leap". Not the new reboot/spinoff/whatever version that I utterly despise. They literally replaced Al with a "sexy love interest" character and I have never been more angry at a decision made during a reboot in my life.
Al is the sarcastic (yes slightly womanzing but it was also the 80s this was 'normal') companion who's just trying to help Sam get home. He's a former Naval Fighter Pilot, and he somehow got involved with the Quantum Leap project. I forget how, it's been a long while since ive seen anything past season 1.
He's honestly one of the best things about that show.
I was going to keep him as an earth pony for their original reference, but I could NOT think of a good way to get an Earth Pony smoking and it felt lowkey cruel to take those away from him so unicorn he became. I wanted to give him wings cuz of the whole Pilot thing, but then I had the same problem with "well then now he cant really smoke".
Unless I made him an alicorn ig but ehhhhhhh that didn't feel right. So he's a unicorn, he has a rare duel talent, in both defense and mechanics! That other thing he's got floating around in his magic is Ziggy! The little computer that helps Al figure out what Sam needs to change in order to leap to the next person ^w^
If you got nothing else out of this post just please go watch quantum leap (1989) im begging you its so good.

Also ya'll are boring haters. Just because I have stupidly long hair and wear black leather goth coats + boots, like to stab things, am associated with black feathers because crow, am a homeschooled freak, have a weird connection with deep space, miss my mom almost chronically, tend to get overly attached to friends because I didn’t know hardly any people growing up, have a fiery, impassioned lore-obsessed bestie associated with the color red that duels with me every weekend, a calmer, more sensible literal angel bestie that reminds me to be rational and tells me to chill when duelling with the red friend, have a hard time expressing deeper emotions, am fairly introverted until I’m around friends I trust, don’t like public attention, have dreams about the apocalypse, can’t seem to escape the color scheme of purple/green, will probably have a mental breakdown at 25, am only a few steps away from committing arson, doesn't mean that you now get to make Sephiroth jokes ffs 🙄 Not literally everything is a reference to your most hated fictional not-blorbos, touch grass sometimes :pensive:
Nah, you aren't Sephiroth over all these things, you are Sephiroth because you annoy me by literally just standing there. Perish

Oh yes. Before I begin my post this time, to save me yet another round of asks, this episode and all the previous ones are viewable for free in the movie theater on the Idol Land PriPara app. Please download Idol Land PriPara. It's in your app store. Please.
And now...
Tumblr media
NEW CUT IN THE OPENING OMG OMG POLOLO IS HAPPY NOW possibly only one episode left this season (maybe ever) and they still threw this in there GEEZ.... so much love in this show.
(Wait is her accessory the wrong color uguu...)
The episode begins right where we left off of course! Amari has challenged Mario to a duel. If he wins, she'll join (or c...combine??) with him and he can do whatever he wants, and if she wins, he can never show himself in front of her again. Mario solemnly agrees.
After the opening, Mario is laughing and making fun of Amari for how serious she was in challenging him. But he also quietly asks, "Do you really want to erase me?" Well, whatever, Mario is glad Amari is finally acknowledging him head on. He agrees again and asks if they are gonna just punch each other or what.
No sooner than Amari answers with "What!? We're idols, of course we are gonna perform!" a stage rises from the ground with the Hysteric Bunny and Fullmetal Rabbit logos on it, and everyone is instantly transported.
Tumblr media
This includes WITH and Dark Nightmare, who now have their goat costumes removed. Koyoi and Shogo acknowledge this duel will determine Yui's fate as well.
Everyone questions what has caused the stage to form (it's GaarmageddonMi's doing if you ask them), but Janice, still powerless, suggests the system itself desires Amari and Mario finally settle things. The future of PriPara (Amari's kirakira vs. Mario's dark power) is in the balance.
In Amari's dressing room, Amari vows to protect PriPara, and everyone says they believe in her. They all turn to leave, except for Laala. She turns back to Amari, and begins a very important conversation.
Laala asks Amari, "Amari, do you really hate yourself? Why?"
She's of course referring to the previous episode, when she heard Amari yell that out in a moment of weakness.
Amari states that since junior high school she'd always felt left out everywhere she went, but since finding PriPara she was happy she finally thought she had friends and felt like she belonged. But then Mario appeared and started ruining everything, and it was all her fault. Mario is the version of herself from the past that she hates, so she has to defeat him.
"Do you have to?" asks Laala.
Tumblr media
Laala doesn't like that Amari hates herself, because well, Laala likes Amari. But if Amari doesn't like herself, "Is this a love triangle!?"
"There is love inside hate", Laala tells Amari.
Laala doesn't quite remember where she heard that, but she's decided that it must mean hate is actually love. As Amari is trying to comprehend this for herself, Laala suddenly hugs her.
"I love you, Amari-chan!"
Laala turns to go, smiling and waving back at Amari as she leaves her alone with her thoughts.
Back at the stage, the tournament is ready to begin...
Tumblr media
Janice needs a seatbelt to ride the stage.
Amari and Mario stare at each other from across the stage. Mario is grinning but he has noticeable bags under his eyes. They decide the winner is the person who can take over the audience (with kirakira or dark power). (A large portion of the audience is already being controlled by Mario, as "whatever" zombies.)
Without any discussion of who will go first, Mario begins. After his performance, a lot more of the crowd is converted, including Fuwari, Mikan, Ajimi, Dorothy... (Shion notes that Dorothy rolling on the floor saying "whatever" isn't that different than usual.)
Amari begins her performance, and she actually sings the second verse of Chaotic Hurricane (!!!) the entire time wishing Mario would just disappear. DISAPPEAR, DISAPPEAR, DISAPPEAR.
Amari's performance starts to shatter Mario's dark keys, bringing most of the audience back to normal.
Pleased with her performance, Amari looks up to find that what she wished for is actually coming true. Mario really is disappearing. Distressed, he shouts that he won't let himself disappear. He desperately asks Amari again, "Do you really want to erase me!?"
Amari is genuinely shocked and just stares as she seems to realize for the first time that what she's doing is basically killing him. Mario stops disappearing.
"That's right, you're not really going to erase me. Are you, Amari?"
But now that Mario is stable again, the duel resumes. They walk towards each other where they meet at the center of the stage. A third Making Drama begins where they immediately clash.
Tumblr media
MAN I love the Making Drama battles Idol Land introduced. It definitely feels inspired by the battles in King of Prism.
As the battle takes place, you can hear a new song playing in the background. A duet between Amari and Mario.
The Making Drama ends without a clear winner. Amari knows she has to save PriPara, but something is holding her back. She remembers her earlier conversation with Laala.
"REMEMBER!" shouts Mario. "Remember your TRUE SELF!"
Amari thinks back again to her junior high self, the day she created Mario. But, overcome with embarrassment, she screams as loud as she can:
"DISAPPEAR!"
As Amari's scream creates shockwaves over the stage, Mario begins to disappear again. But this time faster than ever. He falls to the ground, half gone already.
Laala shouts, just loud enough to reach Amari:
"You can't erase him!"
And then Amari remembers. Further back, to when she was in elementary school and dreaming about being an idol. Then getting older, meeting Laala, and all the lessons she learned as we remember all the character development she's had gradually over the series episode by episode (damn this was such a good show...) up until the present episode when Laala told her "hate is love".
Amari realizes everything is connected, and the version of herself she loves and the version of herself she hates are both what make her whole.
Tumblr media
"Don't disappear! Don't disappear, don't disappear, don't disappear!!" Amari cries as she runs to embrace Mario. Mario weakly says how he's always loved her spirit (I think).
But, just when it seems like he's too far gone...
Tumblr media
Mario is solid once more.
"So, you need me after all, huh?"
"SHUT UP! I HATE YOU!" Amari yells, lunging at him without hesitation.
Tumblr media
And actually punching him square in the face. Turns out that throwaway line from the beginning... not a joke haha! But well, since Mario is herself, Amari sees no need to hold back, after all.
"There, I won," she says as Mario is knocked to the ground and all the other characters just kind of stare into space not quite knowing what to make of this.
Tumblr media
(Except Dorothy. Judging by her face, she's like YEAH! Give it to him.)
(I actually only noticed this on my third rewatch of this scene. Love these reaction shots where only one character has a different expression. Also feels like a callback to King of Prism haha...)
"You fight dirty!" Mario yells as he gets up and they both lunge at each other again. But instead of punching each other, this time, each sticks their key in the other's mic.
And then well.......
THIS
Tumblr media
HAPPENS
um
There is probably a lot that could be said about
this
a lot of analyzing
Honestly though, thinking from the Japanese perspective I'm not totally sure what might be intended by this, so.
Let me just say.
Whatever this is
I like it.
Wow honestly
Even though they threw around the word "combine" a lot I was not. I was not taking it seriously. Like AT ALL.
Until now obviously.
Well also we know why Amari and Mario have the same birthday I guess.
The stage is destroyed and everyone is blown around as the Amari/Mario duet plays again (or is this a different one?) as ... let's call them "Amario", takes to the sky, literally grabbing the fallen key and putting it into the Yumeme in the sky.
Edit: Checked the credits before posting. Two songs are listed with a similar name, and I guess the combined version of them is called "Amarion" officially, according to the titles. CD release WHEN??? Anyway.
It seems Amari is the most in control here, and Mario is just kinda coming along for the ride ("whatever") as she borrows his power, but he seems to be enjoying himself all the same. They have trouble turning the key, actually bursting into flames in the process, and Meganii suggests it's because Mario's dark power reacting to the kirakira. But, eventually they are able to overcome it and the key turns.
But, Amarion is then sent rocketing back down to the ground, still burning in flames. As they fall, Amari thinks that she'll have to leave PriPara after this, for all the trouble she's caused. In the end, she's still left out. "Whatever......"
Mario asks her (in their head) if she really likes PriPara that much, and Amari says yes.
"Well, guess I've got no choice then," says Mario.
Mario separates from Amari so that he's the only one burning now.
Amari tries to reach out to him, but with a last "Whatever..." Mario allows himself to burn away... into nothing...
Amari yells for Mario as she falls, only to be caught safely in Pololo's hands.
And back in the sky, from the Yumeme, finally falls... Yui.
Yui's normal self somehow falls through the Yumeme, is converted into a beam of rainbow light, and emerges from Takki as her full idol self.
The Yumeme power is so strong everyone gets yumeme, even Shogo.
Tumblr media
Gaze upon yumeme Shogo.
The yumeme spread to Amari and Pololo as well, as Pololo converts more bugs (the last?) into happy flowers.
The others wave up to Amari as she sits cupped in Pololo's hands and Amari waves back. But Amari then looks up to the sky.
"Mario..."
The Amari/Mario duet plays over the credits.
So.... I guess........ I.........
I guess first I... I will
I'll get my game predictions out of the way um
Obviously I think Yui will be added soon.
It's also high time they added Believe My Dream I guess? If we have to get an older song?
And um. I said there wouldn't be a gatcha for the last episode and I was wrong so. There may be a gatcha for this one. I think we may actually be getting that crazy half Mario half Amari coord. It's clearly a cyalume that we only got to see lit up. So, much like the Evergold team SCRs, we'll probably see the unlit version for the first (only?) time when it is added to the game. I'm looking forward to it. I just wow.
So.
My thoughts on this episode. Yes. My thoughts?
I guess anyone still reading this for some reason might want to know.
.........................
When I was in Japan at the beginning of this month, I visited Prism Stone Tokyo Station several times. And on my last visit, I decided to buy an Amari plush doll.
I took her down from the shelf I had placed her on in my house upon unpacking, so that she could sit with me here right now as I rewatch the episode and write this post. So I could hold her, hug her, and poke her as necessary.
....During the time I was in Japan, I was of course sitting on the cliffhanger from the last episode. I was already having a lot of emotions about Amari and Mario and... for a brief moment, I considered buying Mario too after I decided I was getting Amari. I did think that maybe, just maybe, I might regret not buying him based on what might happen in the next episode. But, still, I decided against it.
I do regret it.
She's literally without her other half. Amari, I'm so sorry...
I shouldn't be that upset about this but I kind of am.
This episode had a very important message.
It's hard to accept some things about yourself.
It's hard to look back.
But your awkward past. Your cringe OCs.
The imaginary anime boyfriend you made when you were in middle school that also may or may not be you sort of experimenting with yourself as the opposite gender???
That's... that's all you.
And that's OK.
Because Laala loves you.
But really though.
This episode left me with this terrible, hollow, lonely feeling that I can't or rather won't go into full detail about here. I'm sitting here, playing with Amari's bunny ears as I rewatch scenes from this episode over and over again to edit and add details to this post
and missing a person who doesn't exist.
But in my case, I think he is too far gone. I deleted that novel. It felt right, at the time.
I'm sorry.

I have FINALLY finished all of Blythe’s information!! I said a while back that I would post it, and here I am finally delivering.
Most of these are edited Canva templates, so some of it might look or be a little wonky. I also added his reference sheet.
His backstory is long, so you’ll find that under the cut.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blythe’s backstory mentions abuse and religion used as manipulation by family members. While I did not go into specific details, please still read with caution. You can also skip the first three sections of his backstory if those topics make you uncomfortable.
1.
Blythe was born to Samara and Cornelius Jinx. Cornelius was from a family of strictly witches, while Samara was from a family full of diverse hybrids. Cornelius was left to raise Blythe by himself, due to ‘unknown’ complications with Samara. It wasn't until Blythe was a toddler that Cornelius had finally started to show his true colors. With the Jinx family being strictly witches for so long, Blythe was considered odd, and a burden to Cornelius' career as a jewelmaker by the rest of the family, and even by Cornelius himself.
2.
Cornelius would say and do unspeakable things, all while blaming Blythe for ruining his reputation within the Jinx family. However, once Blythe was old enough, he started being forced to join the family’s meetings. These meetings were to worship the family’s Archivist predecessor, and Cornelius used these meetings to rid himself of the mistake of ruining the family’s lineage. Blythe’s presence was eventually implemented into these meetings. He had to recite the family’s various historical texts, pass a few trials, and even become branded with the family’s star symbol. He was taught to only believe in the Archivists, the stars, and the newfound preacher, Belos. The Jinx family believed that instead of Belos communicating with the Titan, he was actually communicating with the Archivists, and using the Titan as a cover up.
3.
What Blythe didn’t know, is that his family was preparing him as a sacrifice for their predecessor. He was unaware of their plans until his aunt, Shannon, stepped in and took him in. Blythe didn’t know much about Shannon, other than she was disowned by the family for refusing to accept the way they presented themselves to the Boiling Isles. She was sweet and different from the rest of the family, but Blythe still had a difficult time trusting her, which was entirely understandable. Shannon was patient with Blythe, and knew he still needed time to adjust to everything. She even taught him how to write his own name, something he had never done before.
With Shannon’s help, Blythe eventually became an author, mainly to help him cope with the experiences he had. A few of his novels became quite popular, and he even grew a small fan base. He would soon notice the Boiling Isles was changing drastically years later, though. Witches and demons were forced to join Covens. However, there was one Coven which caught Blythe’s attention.
4.
The Emperor's Coven was claimed to be one for only the strongest, and Blythe decided to sign up to duel with another participant. Everyone was aware of his family’s lack of magic, but Blythe wasn’t going to let that stop him. What Blythe didn't know, is that the Emperor himself attended to choose the participants who he deemed worthy enough. Nonetheless, Blythe had come prepared. When it was Blythe's turn to engage in a duel, he took his opponent by surprise.
Blythe used his physical strength and agility to take the opponent down. Once Blythe's duel was finished, the Emperor stood from where he was sitting. He requested to duel with Blythe himself as a test, as Blythe had not used magic. He did put up a bit of fight, but Blythe was eventually defeated due to exhaustion. Emperor Belos was still quite impressed with how strong and efficient Blythe was, and offered him a role in his Coven as a scout, to which Blythe accepted. Blythe was given the status of the Emperor's personal guard years later due to his physical strength, and was given an Emperor Coven staff to make up for the lack of magic. He spent most of his time following Emperor Belos around, making sure no harm came to the monarch. Aside from this, Blythe was also assigned as a sailor during oversea missions to gather the parts Emperor Belos needed for his plans.
Tumblr media
SEASON 1
Blythe refuses to bring attention to himself when it comes to the Emperor’s matters, refusing to accept a royal title for personal reasons. However, that doesn’t stop the Golden Guard, Blythe’s fan base, and even the rest of the Boiling Isles from using the Emperor title on him.
Blythe occasionally has to deal with Luz -or the entire Hexside gang- following him around Bonesborough and asking questions about the Emperor.
Blythe keeps his friendship with Eda a secret, as he is very aware of the Emperor’s tantrums. During his time off he’ll visit Eda for a game of cards, or to tell her about how his novels (or family) are coming along.
After Luz makes herself known across the Boiling Isles due to various incidents, Blythe becomes quite curious about her predicament. He introduces himself to her during a book fair event at Hexside, to which she notices his Emperor Coven insignia and she later on finds a portrait of Blythe and the Emperor in the Bonesborough Library, which sparks her curiosity.
He then has to deal with her following him around to make sure he isn’t pulling any schemes; shocked to find out that he genuinely is not.
SEASON 2
Blythe starts promoting a new novel, which has led to a bunch of witches and demons putting up posters and other promotional material. Some posters and flyers include Emperor Belos on them. Luz is still confused about why the two are usually seen together on promotional material, and eventually remembers the portrait she saw in the Library.
Luz asks Hunter -who has joined the Hexside group by then- where she could possibly find Blythe to ask him some questions, to which Hunter decides to go with her after revealing some places that they might find him in. The duo finds Blythe at the library that had just been closed, and they sneak in.
However, Blythe is very aware of the two sneaking around and he sends his palisman -Hesper- to find them. When Hesper does, she brings them back to Blythe, who gives them a huge warning about breaking in and meddling in things that they shouldn’t be.
At this point, Luz confronts Blythe about what he’s doing in the library, to which Blythe tells her about how he is currently the manager. They all converse for a while about the Emperor’s Coven’s plans, until Hunter unintentionally reveals certain details about Blythe and Emperor Belos, much to Luz’s surprise.
During the Day Of Unity, Blythe is unaffected as he was never given a sigil due to his lack of magic, along with the reasoning that the Emperor was fond of him. Blythe was aware of the consequences, but he doesn’t show any remorse or regret once the event starts to happen. All that matters to him is he and the Emperor making it to the Human Realm together.
However, it doesn’t go as planned, as Blythe is left behind in the Demon Realm.
SEASON 3
Blythe is in the Archives, playing the role of a father to the Collector. He doesn’t mind, as he always treated Collector with kindness and respect. He plays his role fairly well, so much to the point that the Collector even appointed Blythe to play the role of King’s father. Blythe spends his time telling them stories and playing games with them, doing anything he can to keep the Collector happy.
Once Philip returned back to the Boiling Isles, Blythe was encased near the Titan’s heart; Philip’s last resort to keep Blythe safe and to potentially use him as a vessel once he finished destroying the Demon Realm.
Blythe was unaware of the situation that was happening outside of the encasing, until he was unintentionally freed, and unintentionally stabbed through the heart by Hunter after stepping in to protect Belos from the attack. After protecting Hunter from Belos’ wrath for so long, Blythe had become something like a father figure to him, and it absolutely destroys Hunter from the inside out.
Once Belos is finally defeated, Hunter ends up bonding with Hesper and she becomes a messenger for the Boiling Isles’ future exchange program. Despite Blythe being viewed as a monster by the rest of the survivors of the whole ordeal, Hunter has dedicated a small area in the forest to him.

a row of einarrs because.... why not tbh.
honestly i just wanted to have a reference for his hair and skin colors at different ages. he changed a bit
details under cut
Tumblr media
toddler
born very light blond
still very baby
child
hair may start darkening, as is usual with most natural blondes.
turned out to be surprisingly good at sewing, placing him with the women at an earlier age than usual. :^)
he was trying to give his dress a more masculine tunic cut, because he liked it more for some reason. unfortunately, he did it maybe a little too well.
still a bit clueless about his gender situation, but Something Felt Off
really liked roleplaying... you will never guess what gender all his best characters were. (boys. they were all boys.)
teen
so apparently lye bleach was a thing?? anyway he probably did that with his hair at this point.
came out as a boy 🏳️‍⚧️
going by einarr for real now
father immediately accepted him, mother not so much.
constantly wearing an oversized capelet over his entire torso because he was dysphoric as hell.

fledgling vampire (age 24-40)
ah, the hubris of exploring on his own while the rest of the group were trying to pillage this mysteriously empty castle. it's an old ruin. and those just intrigue him a lot. they are fascinating to him
anyway so basically he ran into a vampire while going viking. ended up in a duel. died.
in his early vampire years, his growing bat form's white fur started to overtake his existing hair color. kinda similar to graying hair.
once he realized how hardy vampires were, did top surgery on himself with a sword.
then he had to stitch himself up. with his existing sewing skills - a skillset deemed to be very feminine at the time. something poetic about that i feel
stuck in a castle. doesn't escape until he's like 50
middle vampire (age 200-700)
hair has already gone fully pale a long time ago.
skin is getting paler. more purple in tone.
ears are slowly growing in size, gaining transparency along with it
however, has also figured out how to blend in with humans again at this time (through vampiric illusions that make him look mortal)
peasant for a while. growing dislike of kings and authority figures. ends up joining the pirates in his seventh (?) century
has been caught drinking blood from humans, has been caught stealing from the rich, and has been to jail several times. usually escaped pretty easily with vampire powers. has been responsible for at least one mass jailbreak
the look of his clothing actually shifted a lot over all these centuries, but this art wasn't really focused on clothes, so i just picked something basic
ancient vampire (900+)
skin gone blue. fangs gone long.
ears reached their max size a while ago.
gotten quite nostalgic; started to wear norse-style clothing in his own time again. it's comfy and familiar!
among the mortals it has been many centuries of trying to match contemporary fashions. genuinely enjoys working with textiles though, so it's no big deal. yeah he still does this.
cannot keep up a human disguise for more than a couple hours... maintaining an illusion gets exhausting when it's so many things at once.
mostly goes for fish blood these days. it's not the greatest blood, but he likes the taste of it the most and it's less of a hassle to get when he's at sea all the time.
avoids the greater vampire community. he feels it's too much drama all the time, all while they just tend to think of him as a hermit, and well. they're not wrong.
has been known to take some odd jobs here and there, pretending to be mortal.
i did not actually intend to write down this much but!! i just like him a lot. gotta stop myself from writing too much. there's so much more i could say about him, but we'd be here forever

i love kozue please talk to me about kozue
OMG YAY!! Alr. I have to pull up some of my notes from my last rewatch
So it actually took me quite a bit to really appreciate Miki and Kozue's character arcs because theirs is arguably the most subtle out of the the entire cast (which I understand may not be saying a whole lot, as Utena emphasizes a visual approach to storytelling, where everything is more or less completely out in the open for the viewer to relish-- it's just up to the audience to decide what those symbols mean). The thing that tripped me up about Kozue is that you can't really understand her until you've understood Miki, since her whole narrative niche hinges on her relationship with her brother, and of course given RGU's egalitarian disposition in regards to textual intent, however you've understood Miki will then inevitably color your perception of Kozue. That said! I don't think it's a completely one-sided dynamic, because of course Miki is impacted by Kozue's actions all the time. I just think there's a stricter analytical chronology to dissecting the twins, and that's a departure from the rest of the series' writing, and it makes them stand out a bit more.
Blue is assigned to three characters over the course of the series: Miki, Kozue, and then Ruka. Any thematic commonalities, though, appear to be entirely lacking at first glace; after all, all their personalities and archetypes are oppositional to each other. I definitely had a hard time figuring out this one, but I think my primary (and preliminary) conclusion as to their point of contention has to do with their status as accessory characters. Ruka appears with Juri as a masculine foil, Miki's own status as a member of the student council is consistently undermined by the greater authority of those around him, and Kozue attaches her social worth to her promiscuity. Of these three, Kozue exclusively is a woman, in addition to which she is in the transitional period of adolescence along with Miki, kind of representing an ambivalent force among Ohtori's constructs. She doesn't fully belong to any class of Ohtori's residents. Sure, she has a leaning, but it's just that-- a tendency set up to exacerbate extremity. It's also the binary complement to Miki's own nuances (here we can get into RGU's exploration of Childlike Purity but that deserves its own essay lol; the point I'm trying to get across is whatever Miki is, Kozue represents the other face of the coin).
The bulk of what I managed to gather from Kozue's character actually comes from her duel song, Utopian Paste Tense Incantation. The lyrics lay on really hard with nostalgic imagery and diction.
Tumblr media
From this.
We can grasp the core tenant of her character motivation, that being that she's wanting to return to the past when she was figuratively and literally a child, presumably to before the incident with the failed piano recital (parallel that I haven't quite managed to place is the one related to sickness. Miki and Ruka both lost their metaphorical "other" because of illness. Hm). Here, the desire to return to the past is metaphorical in nature-- obviously she doesn't want to turn back time, she wants to replicate their past dynamic, reclaim her innocence, undo metamorphosis, reject the expectations of change the world demands of her.
**Note: The 7-5-3 referenced in some of the lyrics is referring to a Japanese rite of passage and annual festival celebrating the lives of children. Traditionally, girls aged 3 and 7, as well as 5 year old (occasionally 3 year old) boys undergo a ceremony that demarcates their transition into adolescence and womanhood/manhood. Here's the Wikipedia page on it if you're interested
But THIS. This is the catcher
Tumblr media
There's a passing mention of an amusement park, which we come to associate with Akio.
The amusement park is the place where fantasies thrive. Its attractions are bound for the same path each and every time. There's no change at an amusement park, no revolution-- only the burden of comfort. And here is the fool who rides a carousel of violence round and round for eternity, the fallen prince. Kozue's own childhood with Miki was like this, and whether it's riding a merry-go-round or playing to his brother's naivete, she keeps herself going around in circles, chasing after a prince who always had his back to her.
Kozue's resentment is mutual- Miki does not approve of her sexual activity and projects his own ideal of the past onto Anthy- but it is not inhibiting. Rather, it is passive, and most of it manifests as self-hatred. She's manipulative, not in the way that she means to hurt Miki as a form of vengeance, but in the way that she advertises a very specific persona of herself to Miki. She's performing the role those around her demand from her (princess), to seek confirmation that somewhere in Miki is the brother who she believed was kind, gentle, and chivalrous. It's fear-- she's driven by the fear that Miki will completely reject her. She was abandoned once, after the recital, and she slipped out of one phase of her life into another. But surely, surely, Miki would still take her back, right? He hasn't changed like she did (or so, I suppose she believes). Her pursuit of an incestuous relationship is the apex of her complex-- it's unhealthy and mired in presumptions of intimacy that aren't conducive to her actually getting any closer to her brother. Similarly with the other sibling pairs, we see this type of sexual abuse used as a way to spotlight the harm that stems from endorsing the caricatures of masculinity and femininity that we're conditioned to view as desirable.
Kozue presses her own vision of the past onto Miki as much as he does to her. He's her "shining thing", her relic of nostalgic antiquity. And therein is their tragedy, wanting to move on in totally different ways, unable to see eye to eye, believing in a flawed history that was never there to begin with. Neither of them want to face the future and place blame on themselves for the loss of a memory that was never once genuine. They're birds who refuse to leave behind their nest, their birdcage. And I think the most fascinating element is the conclusion for Kozue's part of the story, in the scene at the end of Miki's Nest Box, where she finally calls out Miki for being a "coward" and walks away from him, leaving him to finish the nest box on his own. I interpreted that as being symbolic of her finally discarding her own preconceptions of Miki and coming to see him for who he is rather than merely as an extension of her personhood, disavowing the connotations of princeliness she'd come to expect from her brother. He cost them the duel and their attempt at reclaiming their past because of her intrusion on his idealistic fabrications, and seeing firsthand just how fragile his worldview was allowed her to break through her own.
There's so much I haven't addressed, but this is the gist of what I think she's all about? Do add more if you have any thoughts of your own! I will say. Common misconception for Kozue I see frequently is that she's actively aggressive towards Miki because she doesn't like him for reasons ranging from "she doesn't like being objectified by Miki" to "she's been irreversibly hurt emotionally by the incident with the recital" (and that Miki doesn't like Kozue because she simply doesn't fit into his own ideal of femininity). The objection here being the correlation of causality, as I don't necessarily think that Miki's objectification or even the recital are what *caused* Kozue to behave more coldly towards her brother. I hope my train of logic makes sense here because I tried my darndest to shoot down this specific misconception... uhmm. This took a long time to write LOL

No Surprise
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Spoiler and Long Explanation Ahead]
a bit of spoiler cause i'm still in year 5 of the game and i have a lot i wanted to draw before this event
I listen to this song in repeat while making this maybe you should too? (also the reference of the title)
In Year 6, after the death of their best friend, Ben and Jeniferl decided that it is best to break up for the meantime.
Ben believed that despite being together, he had failed to protect her and the people she cares about. The death of Rowan shows that he is still incapable to protect the others, despite his attempts to change. He felt worthless and believed that only a strong, courageous person could be with Jeniferl that can keep her safe... unlike him. He will keep changing, even if it makes him the worst version of himself, until he has proved to himself that he is capable of becoming that person.
Jeniferl on the other hand, didn't want more people to die because of her. She once again blamed herself from all misfortune and believed that the more she is attached to someone, the closer death will come to them. After the death of her best friend, she fears Ben will be next therefore she wants to maintain her distance and, to the best of her ability, suppress her emotions in order to concentrate on breaking the family curse and the curse vault. If she kept bringing ill fortune, she believed she didn't deserve to be loved.
The breakup left a bitter taste in their relationship. They told one another that  they could do anything they wanted regardless of what the other think, but their relationship is over.
On the day of the Masquerade ball
It was surprising how Jeniferl was on the ball despite all the tragedy that happened to her; it was Barnaby’s idea for her to go. Jeniferl and Barnaby are like siblings to one another, for they share the same interest in magical creatures and dueling. Feeling bad about what happened to her, he invited Jeniferl to a dance at the ball in an attempt to cheer her up, which she appreciated and agreed with. But what’s more surprising is what they saw in the Ball,
Ben and Ismelda were dancing together.
Everyone was startled that the two were together, but Jeniferl repress her emotions and smiled at them as they danced elegantly in the night. As promised, Barnaby and Jeniferl performed their dance as friends, but someone is watching them closely. It was Ben. Even though he presents a cold and disinterested demeanor around her, he is nonetheless troubled. In actuality, he only attended the event because of her presence. He wasn't supposed to go because he didn't see the point in going and would rather train to get stronger instead. But Ismelda came and informed him how Barnaby would be going with Jeniferl. He requested Ismelda's company in order to verify whether it was real. Upon realizing it to be true, he was reminded of their breakup and understood that there was nothing he could do.
The night may be beautiful, but no surprise, two hearts are left in sorrow once again.
✧✨✧
First I wanna say sorry for my poor writing and grammar skills I just want to finish this so that i can focus on my uni,,
and second, YES, the two broke up after 3 years of flirting and a year of dating ,,how unlucky but thats just the life of Jeniferl. I already planned this ahead before the spoiler TLSQ happen but, I hate to admit it, this tlsq benefit the story and I'm sorryy I added more pain in my story(I'm gonna add more tho).
No hate to Ben and Ismelda shippers, I love Ismelda's character and i just thought her being with ben is an out of character but i become more curious . Also I chose Barnaby because he is the one i chose to be partnered with my mc in the game but in my story, Barnaby doesn't have romantic feelings towards Jeni
But the TLSQ haven't released yet so there might be changes added in the story but who knows, I hate it but I'm excited for this tlsq~ also i kinda didn't follow the color dress code sryy

[IMAGE DESCRIPTION – MIDNIGHT TRUTH TIME.
At the top is the strip’s title: “normal feelings about rgu”.
RGU refers to Revolutionary Girl Utena, an anime.
This comic’s art style is simple, scribbled, doodle-like, without realistic details. It’s black and white, with few colors painted in watercolor style.
Hyamara (caricature of the author; they have short and black hair, piercings in their ears and are using a white shirt with a colored strawberry and blue pants), at the center of the panel, has their eyes wide open and mouth open wide, holding their face with their hands. To their left, a person with short, brown hair and round glasses smiles with their mouth wide open, forming a “3” shape (like a cat’s mouth) facing Hyamara, and asks: “So, did you like Revolutionary Girl Utena?”. To the right of Hyamara, the background is black, and Hyamara mumbles without stopping (the font is in Hyamara’s own handwriting, which looks very sketchy and scribbled; it is also in capslock): “the inherent violence of gender and the fake “masculine” notion that power is abuse and should be pointed at others and especially hierarchic towards kids and poc and how society as a whole is structured around that and an silence is complicit to violence and-”. The rant ends here.
In the panel below, unlike the comic’s usual art style, Hyamara, with realistic proportions, has their eyes closed and mouth open, levitating from the ground, with their arms and hands stretching out away from themselves, towards the ground. From their chest a great shine bursts forth. In the background, there’s the universe – and stars and shining lines that burst from Hyamara. Around Hyamara, there are various texts: “down the depths of the ocean I can be my true self”, “I am just an actor” in caps lock, “characters play their parts on a fantasy”, “do they know it’s all a dream?”, “it is empty motion” in caps lock, “born once again to rehearse it once more”, “it’s an act that never ends”, “and a clock that never moves”. The person from the previous panel, Hyamara’s friend, observes the scene with their back to the viewer, and says: “I guess you did lol”.
Hyamara’s pose and the background are references to a meme called “galactic/expanding brain”, where a person (with Hyamara’s pose), increasingly “expands” their brain through ideas that are getting better (according to who makes the meme). The texts around Hyamara reference the duel songs from Revolutionary Girl Utena.
Below, there is the introduction of another strip, with the title: “hobbies”.
Hyamara sits on the ground, with their back to the viewer, but turning back their head to the viewer anyway, to smile at them. Around Hyamara, there is a mess of nerdy items (a print with Marcille and Falin from the anime Dungeon Meshi; an Yshtola figurine from the game Final Fantasy XIV; a print with Utena and Anthy from the anime Revolutionary Girl Utena; a Link plush doll, from the game The Legend of Zelda; and a print with Shulk, from the game Xenoblade Chronicles). Hyamara says to the viewer: “Whenever I like something I watch, read or play, my response is one out of three levels of enjoyment…”
On the next panel, there is a text above it, in a black square, that says: “1 – ‘this is cool haha’”. Inside the panel, Hyamara sits, laying on the back of their chair with their legs crossed in the seat, looking at a monitor in front of them. They have a bowl of popcorn in one hand, and another one with the thumbs up gesture (closed fist, all fingers closed except the thumb, which rises upwards; the gesture symbolizes approval – that everything’s good). They eat the popcorn, smiling. To their left, there is a text with an arrow pointing towards Hyamara, which says: “normal person”.
On the next panel, there is more text above it: “2 – it’s so good, but so bad.” Inside the panel, Hyamara sits in front of a table with three dolls of The Legend of Zelda (Zelda, Link and Ganondorf respectively; Zelda holds a nonbinary pride flag, and holds Link’s hand, which has a lesbian pride flag; Ganondorf has a trans pride flag). Hyamara has their eyes wide open and dark circles under their eyes, one hand holding their chin and the other pointing towards the dolls. Around Hyamara, there are the texts: “It needs more of that and less than this…”, “*steals it and makes headcanons*”; “*characters are mine now*”.
On the next panel, there is the last text above it, in caps lock: “3 - *rotates it in my head so much it’s transcended lightspeed*”. Inside the panel, the focus is very close to Hyamara’s face, who has their eyes wide open and red, their hands holding their head. In their forehead, there is a brain silhouette, and inside this is an image of space and of planet Earth, which is spinning rapidly in its own axis. There is a zoom effect in the Picture, with blurred borders and lines which point towards the center of the panel – this indicates movement.
Below, the footer of the comic starts, with the logo of Midnight Truth Time, and the list of logos with Hyamara’s social media:

Is the post you made about burr about historical burr or musical? Because if you’re talking about historical then it’s completely biased lmfao. You’re reading Ron chernow so I’m not really surprised you have that opinion but Hamilton was completely in the wrong for his treatment of burr historically.
Disregarding the fact jefferson was one of the most prolific slave owners of the 18th century, and the fact Hamilton advocated for runaway slaves who escaped to Britain to be returned to their US masters and that he bought slaves for his brother-in-law, Burr treated his household slaves very well in comparison to his contemporaries and insisted they receive an education.
The point that he didn’t have an opinion on anything was something false that Hamilton and other federalists used in order to promote their own narrative and careers. Burr had clear and concrete ideals, evident from the way he voted in elections and what he promoted. He did not however clearly associate with a single party which made people think he wasn’t trustworthy and was very flaky which just isn’t true lol.
And what secrets are you even referring to? Is it the manhattan well company or what?
You are just regurgitating 18th and 19th century slander lmfaoo
damn thats a long ask, but let me get into this.
so it was sort of talking about both, i was listening tp the song and found the lyric funny, but it applies to history too.
theres several parts to this, and you got my curiousity spiked so i looked into this:
- 'Early in his political career, Burr also introduced a bill for the abolition of slavery to the New York state legislature; the bill was voted down. However, Burr was a slaveholder for most of his adult life. His parents, grandparents, and wife Theodosia Prevost were also slaveholders. While surviving records are scarce, it appears that Burr often bought and sold enslaved people as his finances rose and fell; the few named individuals seldom appear more than a handful of times in his papers. On the night before his duel with Hamilton, he put his affairs into order in the event that he did not survive. Instead of freeing the enslaved people in his household, he left them to his daughter Theodosia in South Carolina, where they likely would have been sold. So while he was outwardly a manumissionist, he never backed up his words with any actions.'
(roughly paraphrasing from a text)
- as fpr hwo he treated his slaves, i loojed and couldnt find any info about it, can you send me your source?
-now, for the thought that he didnt have an opinion, i will admit i mispoke. what i meant to say that yes, while he had opinions, however loojing at all he wrote he does seem very selfish, doing whatever benefited him the best. i understand why he didnt choose, seeming to only become democratic republican when he saw an oppertunity out of it. even if he did have his own opinipns, it doesnt seem that way to me, or clearly alexander hamilton.
-alexander also did nothing wrong by choosing jefferson over burr, it was a personal choice, he did what he thought was right, you cant bash him for it, esprcially with burr stealing his Father-in-laws seat. he chose wjo he thought would be better for america
-burr was a pretty secretive person overall, but i didnt know about the manhattan well company. however he had a whole secret colored family with a slave from india, and knwoing how slavery was, thers a good chance she didnt havr a choice about it, which might (MIGHT) have been SA or rape. now, this is a small chance, but still, plus having an rntire colored family is quite a secret. then theres also the whole burr conspiracy, and so many others succh things which show burr had so many secrets. clearly, he was a hypocrite, denouncing one thing and doing the same thing in secret. so yea, he had secrets.
also, damn u actually scanned my posts to find what im reading? read it, its good trust me. and, if youre so concerned in what im reading, can i reccomend you a book? its called infinity alchemist and its by kacen callender and the protagonist is a bly named ashen woods eho is chaotic and ramsay thorne is the best fucking character and no its not related but still!!!
(also ps to those who hate on burr, remember he was a real person, and dont make assumptions, he had a gpod sife too, he was a feminist (tho he might have been another one of those male feminists who claim to be so but just gave a tendancy to SA women (neil gaimon)) but he could have actually been a good one idk this is history)
