Aquapark HCS - MHA Boys x Reader
A/N: I dreamed about going to the aquapark last night and got these ideas lmao Bakugo, Shigaraki, Dabi, Hawks, Shinsou, Deku
KATSUKI BAKUGO
Doesn't really like swimming but will go with you if you ask
DOESN'T want to lose you in the crowd so he follows you around like a puppy
He wants to try something that you don't want? Like those horrifyingly huge slides? He'll tell you EXACTLY where he's going and will want you to do the same but he knows he can't stop you if you get distracted so he won't leave your side often
He really doesn't want to lose you in a huge place like this, what would he do without you?
You know that calm river with donuts? You both hold hands and you both have fun pushing your donuts under the small waterfalls along the way
He also likes the wave pool
You two are holding hands the whole day and he helps you dry your hair in the hotel room
If you ask him, he might invest in a pool for your house
SHIGARAKI TOMURA
He doesn't like water but he'll go because you asked
He doesn't know how to swim, but again, he'll go because you asked
You want to teach him, of course, but he doesn't want to when there's tons of people
Shigaraki's considering to break in a pool in the middle of the night just so you can teach him and just so he can spend more time with you
If the Aquapark is indoors, he's fine. If outdoors, pour tons of sunscreen on him, because he's white af and u don't want him as red as a lobster
He loves the calm river with donuts, because he doesn't have to swim
Shiggy also loves the slides that has donuts
Back at the hotel, he's worn out and he flops on the bed, almost instantly asleep but he will fight the sleep demon as long as you're not in bed with him
Oh and also, you two helped each other to dry your hair <3
DABI - TOUYA TODOROKI (Quirkless au tho because he prob can't get in the water with those scars :((( )
He hates those places
Too much people, too much voices, too loud
But he'll go anyways because ain't no way you're going alone
He chills on the lounge chairs the whole time
Watching you like a proud boyfriend and making sure u don't drown either lol
Sometimes he'll chill sitting in the water or getting to ankle deep
He's not going farther even if u beg him to
He also likes the calm donut river, except those waterfall areas where he'll hop off his donut and walk away from those, yes, even if the water is waist deep
Back at the hotel, he helps you dry your hair
He also watches tv all night while you sleep against him <33
HAWKS - KEIGO TAKAMI
He LOVES THOSE!!
As soon as you asked to go to a waterpark, he already reserved tickets
The only annoying part is that he has to leave all his feathers in a bag in the hotel room, he doesn't want to accidentally smack someone with those lol
He tries everything, slides, wave pool, donut river, EVERYTHING
He's like an overexcited puppy!!
He'll buy those funky bottles that look like zigzags
He'll buy towels as a souvenir
Fans will often stop him for selfies and signatures but he'd refuse some, not everyone, so people don't bother you or him too much
Back at the hotel, you help him dry his hair, he loves it when you play with his hair
HITOSHI SHINSOU
He doesn't really mind these places but sometimes people are too loud for him
He spends the whole day following you around but whenever you part ways, he trusts you and knows you'll find him or that he will
Had to tie his hair because he can't see shit with his hair on his face
Doesn't like having his hair tied but you told him that he looked great and he internally screamed
This boi also needs lotta sunscreen
You guys got selfies that you sent to his dad, Aizawa
You're both thinking about bringing his family, Aizawa, Mic and Eri next time
He got takeouts to end the day and u both fell asleep watching tv
DEKU - IZUKU MIDORIYA
Everything he brought with him for this outing had All Might on it, his towel, his backpack, his sunscreen, his swimsuit shorts, water bottle, EVERYTHING
He was embarrassed by it but hey you love him don't ya? You didn't care
He bought more all might stuff by the end of the day dw
He's kinda scared of the slides so he didn't go but he cheered for you
Someone tried to hit on you
Deku wasn't happy with this
He told them nicely to "Fuck off", yes he said those two words
You were shook, since when did he swear
He said he might or might not have learned from Kacchan, which made sense
You often had to run to him because his hair was hiding his eyes and you helped him, you both often laughed about this
At the end of the day, you both fell asleep against each other after Deku called his mom and All Might, they get worried, of course

So I noticed something when I was looking at how Izuku smiled at Katsuki...something about it just seemed familiar and I couldn't put my finger on what it was.
Until NOW
Like the way his smile just looks so fond, it's different than how he usually smiles at other people. There's just something about it that just screams that it's the look of love to me. But I couldn't really explain it or compare it to anything else before.
Well now I finally put two and two together and realized what it reminded me of...THIS MF
The way he looks at Marinette, he was so obviously in love with her, like can y'all see it too? The way his eyebrows relax and scrunch upwards, that fond smile.. IT'S LITERALLY THE SAME
I think generally animators have similar ways to show expressions, and this fondness, this genuine awe is something that I have also seen quite a lot of times before. That smile and that expression that you hold for the person that means so much more to you than anyone else, who you genuinely love from the bottom of your heart because they've shown a side to life and feelings that you never knew before. That smile is reserved for the person who your life wouldn't be the same without.
And his small laugh here ahhhyhshxhsjsj
It's such a sweet laugh like how Adrien laughs at Marinette too because he finds her awkwardness sweet.
And when you look at the parallels, it's so obvious. Like the moment Cat Noir realized he was in love with Ladybug as he looked up at her in awe:
And Katsuki's proud smile as he was looking up at Deku:
Then there's the fact that they both blindly trust each other because they know that the other would always win and save the other, no matter what:
Even Cat Noir sacrificed himself so much in the past for Ladybug to win, because he knew she'd always win..just like how Bakugo sacrificed himself for Izuku because he knew he'd never give up
"You know I like to fight by your side. But against you? Never"
"I could never hurt the person I love"
But that's not all. Remember the APOLOGY scene IN THE RAIN when Marinette fell in love with Adrien?
Yeah, now look at the Bakudeku version of it. The fact that Adrien and Bakugo both opened up and apologized and both of it happened in the rain..and look at Izuku's reaction to the apology. You can't tell me that he didn't fall in love a little at that moment just like how Marinette did. It's literally the same minus all the blushing and the smiling.
Want more? Well, here's Season 4 ending when Cat Noir reached his hand out to Ladybug, giving her back the hope after she has already lost all of it. Showing her that they can still do it, together. That she hasn't lost everything as long as he's still there. Reminds you of something?
And then as they look out at the distance with newfound hope...just like how Bakugo and Deku did at the cliff in that one Memories episode.
There are literally SO MANY parallels between them, and this is a CANON COUPLE that we are talking about, who are CANONICALLY IN LOVE. This is NOT a coincidence. Even if these are not meant to be parallels, the fact that they are so similar means that their dynamic, their relationship is very similar. So if we took bkdk in Miraculous context, then they'd be a couple. If there was even a tiny bit of flirting between them, it would be undeniable. In Miraculous, they are meant to be a couple, so it's obviously portrayed in their interactions that there is something between them. In MHA however, they are not specifically made to be canon, but their dynamic is essentially the same. They are the person that they trust the most, they rely on each other, trust each other with their life. They have no doubt in the other, they know that the other would always win. Their life wouldn't be the same without the other. They're Yin and Yang, just like Marinette and Adrien. The Sun and Moon.
Bonus:
The way she holds Cat Noir's tail reminds me a lot of how Izuku was holding Bakugo's tie lmao
When their eyes meet
Ladybug getting angry at the villain for hurting Cat Noir like Deku losing it when Bakugo gets hurt
#Is it a stretch?#Maybe but idc lmao#bnha#mha#bakudeku#bkdk#bakugou katsuki#midoriya izuku#bakugo#deku#Miraculous#adrienette

What were your thoughts on MHA's ending?
I know a lot of people didn't really like it, but I think it was actually pretty good! Midoriya was able to become a hero with the support suit his classmates got him, and that's the part I think a lot of people kind of missed? They all pitched in so that he could join them on the field!
Also, Aizawa and Midoriya as coworkers is so funny to me
I think I talked about it already, but yeah I liked it and thought it was good, but wish there’d been More. I feel like a lot of the end of the story was rushed and I wish there’d been slower pacing at parts.
It took me awhile to fully come around to Deku’s ending, and I have mixed feelings about him not being able to be a hero for all those years without a quirk. At the same time, the way I read it made it feel like he decided for himself that with the skills he had at his disposal, the best way to be a hero wasn’t going around catching bad guys. It was fostering a community and teaching the next generation and leaving a legacy of kindness in his wake.
He’s always been someone that rouses the people around him into action, that’s how it’s been from chapter 1 when he inspired all might to act. He’s got all this knowledge on quirks and heroic applications and has a talent for analysis, and I think all that combined makes him perfect for teaching. It’s also very fun to imagine him and aizawa as coworkers lmao
And yeah!! I think people’s interpretation for his friends “abandoning him” or whatever more so comes from looking at leaks and not reading the actual chapter. They’re adults, it makes sense they can’t hang out every day anymore, but it felt like the general vibe I got was they do get together when they have the time, and I feel like he probably does see his friends outside of ‘class get-togethers’ too. And also they love him so much!! They all worked hard to pitch in so he could be a hero by their side again, it’s so sweet :’)))
But like.. I’d wish we’d seen more lmao. I wish we’d gotten just a little bit more on what he was doing during the time skip, it seems like he had ofa until graduation, but did he have it for a bit after that point? Did he do hero work before ‘retiring’? (And also… seeing the class hang out as adults just once or something would have been nice </3)
I guess it’s fun to leave up to our interpretation though, cause now we can decide how the 8 years went and nobody can say “that didn’t happen”

lmao just realized: Enji spending the past 200+ chapters going 'I'm sorry, I'll atone, I know, I'm sorry, I intend to atone' and then doing basically nothing of substance towards that atonement is the same as Deku spending the past 100+ chapters going 'I can't ignore that crying child, I don't know what I'm going to do, but I can't ignore what I saw' and then also doing nothing of substance about it.
It's all just nice words as substitution for any real action! It lets the story point to it and say 'He said this!!! That's huge!!!' and pat the character on the back for being soooo cognizant while not actually having to make an actual effort! Say all the (bare minimum) right things without doing shit!!! Amazing.

Ochaco Uraraka and Katsuki Bakugou: Who saves heroes when they’re the ones in trouble?
Do ya’ll every think abt how Katsuki took over the “who supports/saves heroes when they’re the ones in trouble” plotline in the current arc, which Ochaco originally had? Yes, that question came to her first when she saved Izuku from the Blackwhip rampage with the help of Shinsou, and once more reflected on that said question with her speech to let Izuku in UA.
But the thing is, her attention has shifted from saving heroes (Izuku) to villains (Toga); even during her speech to save Izuku, she thinks of Toga’s smile and ever since then couldn’t stop pondering it—so much so that she had to voice out this dilemma to Izuku which, after talking to a bit, had her arrive at the same conclusion to save their respective villains.
Where does Katsuki come in this? Well, as seen from his development in the JT arc, a lot of it is centred around being willing to “be saved” and “save” as a hero towards other heroes. He acknowledged the save aspect of “win to save, save to win” and had therefore improved on his ability to lead a team and find compatibility in working with them (Also notice the placement of the texts lmao).
This is a huge sign of improvement, as he used to despise the idea of being saved/helped cause he believed it to be a sign of weakness and vulnerability. Also, the “saving” aspect of heroism wasn’t something that came naturally to him, so instead he put most his energy into winning in order to compensate for it. It was huge character flaw that held him back in a number of ways. However, that flaw had began to unravel bit by bit as early as the final exam arc when he and Izuku had to work together, then the Kamino arc (where he took Kirishima’s hand), the provisional license exam arc (where he trusted Kirishima and Kaminari to win and save him) and had since been accelerated after Deku vs Kacchan pt. 2.
Further down the line, we have seen him grow into the belief that heroes save everyone, even other heroes. But as he’s been opening up to this idea, Izuku’s been closing himself off from this idea in relation to himself. His self-sacrificial tendencies, something Katsuki’s already aware of, were now worsened due to the duty and weight of carrying OFA. As he allowed himself to worry, it became clear to him that Izuku will not share his burdens unless someone insists their presence. Because of that, he’s made it his personal job to follow Izuku to war, catch up to his pace and match him, and make sure he doesn’t endanger himself (this is true before, during, and after Katsuki Bakugou rising).
Going back to Ochaco, it’s clear that both she and Katsuki’s focal point in the “saving other heroes as heroes” plot line is Izuku. The idea of them also being heroes who save heroes had been introduced in the same arc, which was during the JT arc. The difference is that Ochaco had mostly diverged from this plot line, while Katsuki has made it his main priority alongside winning (save to win), cause saving people is what paves the path to absolute victory. He even singles himself out as being the person who steps in when Izuku can’t handle it all on his own. Furthermore, he worked together with Izuku in saving All Might (both their childhood hero) to win against AFO.
So what gives? Why was Ochaco the person to introduce the question of who saves heroes, when Katsuki’s the one to pedal it in the final arc? Why didn’t Horikoshi stick with this motivation for Ochaco when it could’ve been used as an opportunity to make leeway for more romantic tropes concerning the main couple? Where the presumed heroine wants to save the hero, is closest to the hero, and becomes targeted by the villains. The answer is simple.
Horokoshi isn’t following a formula, and loves subverting our expectations.
Ochaco’s crush towards Izuku and former motivation of being the one to support/save heroes acted as a red herring to Toga. Her crush introduced the conflict of how to love others and yourself authentically, a conflict that’s central to Toga and Ochako’s fights all the way up to their final confrontation. Then the “who saves heroes” plot line is what put a crack in her imagine of hero society, a society who views heroes as infallible and abuses their selflessness, making people such as Deku—someone she had idolised for his heart and self-sacrificial traits—buckle under the weight of unrealistic expectations. Although this was important to the development of Izuku and Ochaco’s relationship itself, considering her speech which emphasised that she was one of the first people to truly support Izuku, it also made leeway for her to reflect on how hero society views villains, too. Then there she discovers that she wants to see Toga smile again, and find her among the crowd of happy faces in front of her.
Katsuki, on the other hand, takes on the roles that were expected to be given to Ochaco on account of her ‘love interest’ status. He’s the person whose consistently been saving/supporting Izuku from the first to the last war, the person targeted by ShigAFO cause of his closeness to Izuku, the person that has known about OFA longer than his peers, and the person at the center of Izuku’s “control your heart” plot line. The choice for Katsuki to take on these roles weren’t made willy nilly, as the narrative makes sure time and time again to emphasise that his relationship with Izuku is unique, complementary, deeply personal, and intimate; they are two people who complete each other’s brand of heroism by having what the other doesn’t.
Anywho, that doesn’t mean his individuality as a character is diminished cause these roles are typically associated with lazer-focused-on-the-mc heroines. Remember, his biggest character flaw had to do with being too independent and hyper focused on winning. He was a hero who formerly had trouble with the concept of being saved and saving others, especially towards the person he had refused the hand of and despised all these years, so it’s impactful and telling of his character development to now be the one who outstretches his own hand to other heroes, notably to his classmates and All Might, and most importantly Izuku.
His journey is of reaching an understanding with the person he wronged and couldn’t understand due to the views hero society ingrained in him, and to save that person from themselves. It’s understanding that heroes such as him, Izuku, and All Might, no matter how much power they hold, won’t always win if they refuse saving and support; so far, his arc focuses on the humanisation of heroes. It’s not unlike Ochaco’s, Izuku’s, and Shoto’s, who want/wanted to reach an understanding and save the people they had despised and couldn’t understand due to the views hero society ingrained in them; their arc focuses on the humanisation of villains.
That’s why I’m hopeful about DvK3 happening, where it’s Katsuki’s turn to see and respond to Izuku’s inner turmoil, and save him by his words.
Anyways, I’m sure by now we’ve all reflected on the romantic implications the roles Katsuki takes on, so I think bkdk being implied canon isn’t far off. However, I’m still not sure on what kind of deconstruction/subversion Hori is aiming for—does he want to say that the tropes usually applied to love interests can be platonic? As to say that romantic relationships aren’t always the closest? Or is the rival the actual love interest, and the perceived love interest is not. We’re not sure yet.

the fall | b.katsuki - prohero!reader goes undercover
☆– warnings; heart breaking ANGST, a bit of comfort, not a happy ending or well, it is, just not the one you expect, vulnerable!Bakugou Katsuki.
☆– a.n; i don’t know how many times i have deleted, rewritten, deleted again and rewritten again this piece lmao i consider it a win the fact that i just finished it xD also, i don't know if this will have a continuation… thou there’s a high chance that it does because i loved the way it ended lol enjoy <3
If Bakugou Katsuki could be properly honest he would openly admit that being a Pro Hero sucked , approximately eight times out of ten. Mostly it wasn't for the times injuries went worse than expected or felt worse as time progressed and the getting old finally settled in the bones. If he could be entirely open about it, the worst part was when a hero had to take undercover work.
Bakugou hates it. He hates it so much, he could quit. And that was a realization that unsettled him, because this was what he had dreamt about since he was a shitty brat kid: kick shitty villains asses from left to right.
But he got to actually accept and admit this particular annoying, and again, shitty fact, his resentment about that specific part of the job, when it was your turn. When you had to go undercover, and so deep into it, that it had been two years… two fucking years, since he got any news about you.
How fucking dared you. He was–is your best friend, right? Then why not send him even a simple 'I'm okay, still alive' message. Not even a quick phone call where he could at least hear your breathing; he would know it's you, because he knew everything about you. Well–not everything as he would like to. But he was your friend, you had confided in him plenty of times, you had been his partner since you were a little brat from UA doing your internship and he was the newbie Hero in charge of you. You have been through good and shit together. Was it too difficult to just let him know you were fine, fucking alive? Were your new surroundings too dangerous for you to not give any signs of life to any of your friends? If it was dangerous, why the fuck haven't him, or Red Riot or even shitty Deku, been sent to help you?!
Bakugou took another deep breath, face laying over the stinky bar table, hand holding a glass of something he couldn't fucking remember Ejirou said it was. Probably a shot of tequila with lemonade, given the strong flavor in his mouth. Fuck, he wished it was something way more stronger, like firewisky or some shit like that.
"Mina was right. You do look like trash," shitty hair smiled, knowingly and even mockingly at him, which infuriated Katsuki more.
"Shut up, ass." He wasn't drunk, but he wished he was. Katsuki couldn't get drunk because he had patrols to run that same night, he was not an irresponsible asshole, no matter what and no matter who.
But he did wish he could drink himself to sleep. He hadn't been sleeping quite well lately– or more like over two fucking years. Katsuki sighs. He knows he is exaggerating. He knows you. You don't need him to worry about you, you can definitely take care of yourself and he has witnessed how capable you are of it plenty of times already. Damn, you once even kicked his ass for being a jerk– he won't admit it, but that was the day he actually started seeing you more than just a friend. Coincidentally, it was three days before you had to go undercover. What a bitch of luck.
"Todoroki said they were going to scout some of us to go look after her," that brought Bakugou's attention back, sitting up straight and looking directly at his best friend's serious expression on his face.
"I'm in."
Kirishima sighs, "I don't think that's a good idea."
"Fuck you. I'm going..." Katsuki begins his protest but Ejirou doesn't let him continue.
"Katsuki!" Both friends look at each other's eyes for a moment without saying anything. Until Kirishima confirms out loud, "You love her."
The blond stays silent, not admitting or denying it, looking at his best friend's eyes that turned completely professional and determining.
"I will go." He presses firmly and with no room open for discussion, which makes Kirishima sigh.
The red head looks down at the glass he is holding with his drink, a cocktail that had a bit of ron and orange juice, as he plays for a moment with his fingers around it. He takes a sip of it, and after he puts the glass back on the table, he looks back at Katsuki's eyes and says, "I'm not here to invite you to go. I'm just being your fucking best friend in letting you know about this."
Bakugou growls looking elsewhere but his best friend, annoyed that he lost the discussion. He knows by Kirishima's stance and words he is not fucking going, and it innervates him.
He really doesn't want to think about it now. He doesn't want to think about you . He doesn't want to worry yet all he does is worry . For you. For your wellbeing. For the situations you probably have gone through, alone. Not with him around to take every blast he could for you. Not with him to kick some sense in that stubborn head of yours, and vice-versa.
Fuck. He worries so fucking much it is already affecting his head, his performance in battles, his everything. Katsuki had even taken more work than he should trying to keep his mind busy to not think about you.
Kirishima knows. He had known all the bullshit Katsuki was building up inside him for a while now. He always knew when something was off with his best friend. So he invited him to have some light drinks so they could talk a bit, even though that is the least thing Bakugou would ever do. Especially about his feelings. However, Kirishima knows. He has always known.
And he was not letting his friend alone to drown in his feelings.
Bakugou looks at his friend when he feels his hand grab his shoulder. The intensity in Ejirou's eyes makes Katsuki's throat tighten.
"I will bring her back."
"I'm-..."
The explosion makes the ground tremble, and it was enough to sober Bakugou and Kirishima up.
They don't hesitate to run out of the bar and towards the place where it came, where also everyone seemed to run away from. It took them less than three minutes to arrive and both of them sigh in relief when they see they aren't the only heroes at the scene, as even Deku was already there in his costume, holding at least four villains under him. Uravity was close, she had at least ten floating in the air with her Quirk, and was setting one by one on the ground again as another hero would catch and restrain them, before guiding them towards the police cars. The scene is pretty much under control, so that makes Katsuki relax a bit.
Ejirou moves to action, offering help wherever he could. Him and Katsuki walk towards Deku, helping him with the four under him that are struggling forcefully.
Deku smiles thankfully to his friends.
"There's the bitch," says the one Ejirou is holding from the back of his shirt.
"She's fucking dead," threatens the one Katsuki is holding, which makes him angrily manhandle the scum.
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Fuck you, hero!"
Katsuki doesn't have time nor the patience for this, so he doesn't care when he pushes the villain inside the car way more forcefully than he should.
Deku comes running to them as the cars take their way, and he says hopefully, "Have you seen Y/N?"
Katsuki's entire being ignites at the mention of your name. The thought of just seeing you again makes something move inside his gut that is annoyingly satisfying.
"She's back?" Katsuki hates how hopeful his own voice sounded.
"Y-yes?" Izuku frowns, "Wait, you didn't know?" He looks at both friends perplexed.
"Know what?" Ejirou asks this time.
Izuku sighs. "This villain group was a big one that settled in America, where Y/N went undercover. They were planning to attack this base intending to rob the machine that scientists were creating that apparently could send someone to the past. This group wanted to go back in time to erase the source of Quirks, so they could control everything."
An unpleasant chill went down Katsuki's back.
"Y/N has been undercover all this time, working and proving herself so she could get in… She even got in the higher ranks so they would trust her and she could fakely guide them here, where there's nothing but a handful of heroes hiding in this abandoned building ready to catch them."
Deku sounds proud, which Katsuki could comprehend. Not that he would admit that out loud. But wait, that means…
"How do you know this?"
"She hasn't been in contact directly with me, Kacchan, but my agency has been in this case since the beginning and there were loops where she could send information. She couldn't be close to anything or anyone from here or she could have been in a huge danger. But one of my sidekicks has also been undercover with her. He was the loop. From what he told us, she climbed very high; with a Quirk like hers, I'm not surprised she was the only strongest in there. I wonder if-..." Deku went on and on with his mumbling in fascination with Quirks.
Katsuki rolls his eyes. He really doesn't have time to listen to him. He wants to find you, so he simply walks away in search of you.
Two years. It had been two years.
He ends up running towards the entrance of the building, looking around, eyes searching desperately for a sight of you. Heroes and villains around made it a bit difficult, coming and going, running and catching.
Until he finally sees you at a distance.
You are standing there, on the side of the scene, watching as every villain gets taken by some hero and put into custody of the police. The wind around is making your hair float to the side. You have dyed its color, which makes Katsuki think that no matter the color, you still look beautiful. You are beautiful, end of sentence.
But the expression on your face isn't the one of a Hero enjoying victory.
The villains were shouting stuff, and it isn't until he actually pays attention to what they are saying that makes him groan in anger. Why? Because they were shouting swears and threats at you.
And you simply stand there, not responding and receiving everything they throw at you. That makes Katsuki frown. You have never been that cold, that quiet against villains. Where was your fire? Your hatred towards those scumbags-good-for-nothing?
But then your head faced forward, in the direction towards where he was standing. Bakugou's entire being is shaking in anticipation, hoping, thriving for this reunion. Then he sees your eyes. Eyes that were colder than ice. Eyes that showed only a glance of how broken your soul was. And it hurts Katsuki's own heart to see you like that.
Your eyes didn't seem to recognize him at first. Like you were seeing a very distant and almost forgotten thought, a memory that had been pushed to the deepest part of your mind and now just watching him made your brain hurt while trying to figure out the memory.
You then realize it's him , your eyebrows shooting up in surprise and you smile slightly. A smile that doesn't reach your eyes. It is the kind of smile that means "cool to see you, but not very happy about it".
Your eyes go back to the scene, smile wiped from your face and the stoic, cold expression back on your whole being.
"It's The Fall," Deku suddenly appeared next to Katsuki, making the blond jump a little, which he faked it like he was just changing the weight of his body from one foot to the other.
"The fucking what?" Katsuki asks, a bit pissed that he got caught off guard.
"The Fall. When heroes go undercover, they have to pretend to be somebody else," Katsuki rolls his eyes exasperated.
"I fucking know what undercover means, Deku."
"You're not listening, Kacchan!" Deku turns to him, looking quite serious. "The Fall happens when the hero has to return, has to stop pretending to be someone else. And then, they find themselves with the question of whether whomever they were pretending to be was their real self or not."
Katsuki gulps. "I didn't-..."
"Of course you didn't, Kacchan. You have always been you. Fight or die. Hell, I even didn't, because I have always only wanted to be a Hero. But not everyone-..."
"Oh fuck," the blond swears, finally realizing.
You are in a limbo. In trying to remember who you were, who you are and not; what you should do and not. The Fall was winning over you, as you suddenly moved to help a woman that apparently was on your villain team.
Katsuki doesn't waste time. He runs towards you, picking you up by the waist and walking away from the scene, towards the small alley next to the building, as Deku recaptures the other woman.
"Y/N!" He tries to reason with you as you start to kick him, arms and legs swinging in the air to try and catch him, hit him with all your might. "It's me! It's Bakugou! Katsuki!" You are screaming, not stopping to struggle, as he drags you away from everyone that could see.
"LET GO OF ME, YOU FUCKING HERO –..."
You stop every movement and scream as you realize what you just said. He finally gets to circle his arms around your chest, yours trapped under his big ones. Katsuki is breathing heavily. Fuck, he had forgotten how strong you could get.
"Hero," he repeats in your ear as you settle and relax a bit in his arms. Your back pressed to his chest, his arms holding you strongly. "I'm a Hero, Dynamight, Ground Zero," he said, "Great Explosion Murder God," he tries to joke, his throat tight and almost closed with emotions he was trying to hold back –this is not the moment for them–, saying whatever he could to help your memory remember him, "It's me, Y/N, Katsuki … Your 'Tsuki."
Sillence. Only your rapid intakes of breaths are heard between you two. Still, he doesn't dare to let you go. He feels like if he does, you will slip from in between his fingers like liquid, droplets of water impossible to tame or hold back. If he let you go, you are going to fucking disappear, like smoke impossible to catch, and fly very far away from him to never return.
Bakugou Katsuki is not willing to lose you again.
Your body starts to tremble as you sob, as you cry with all your might in Katsuki's arms. And his heart breaks for you.
"Shh , it's okay. I've got you, love. I'm here…" He soothes you, hands and arms holding you tight against his chest as you cry loudly. His hands start to caress the skin of your arms as he kept whispering into your ear.
Your cries are so intense and painful to hear for him, breaking every piece of his heart for you. He can feel your legs giving up, so he kneels with you on the dirty ground, not letting you go from his arms for even a second.
You suddenly turn in his arms, facing him. Yours surround Katsuki's neck and you hug him strongly, " Katsuki," you cry in his neck, and he wishes he was able to physically take the pain you're feeling right now and throw it very far away. Or even if he had the choice to trade it with you, he would. He would carry your pain, your sorrows, your everything, for you.
"I'm here. I'm here," he repeats as you cry, softly caressing your back with his hands.
Katsuki doesn't know how much time you waited there –now sitting on the ground, his back against a wall while you sat all curled up against his chest and in between his legs– but he notices everything is done and over when Deku peeks from a corner, holding his thumb up in sign that probably everyone had gone from the place. The blond nods, and Deku takes that as a sign that he could get close. His movements slow, careful to not startle you, put you still tense in Bakugou's arms when you hear footsteps.
"It's Izuku, love." Katsuki doesn't know where he learnt to be this careful and cozy with people, he thinks it's your fault. You have been the one who taught him so many things, that it actually doesn't surprise him when his big ass hands caress carefully and softly your head, reassuring you on that touch that it's okay to let go of him a bit. "Midoriya Izuku?" He tries his friend's real name, the one name he is sure you would be glad to hear–apart from his. But you simply respond by grabbing Katsuki harder, not letting go. "Hero Deku? Or… shitty Deku," he feels his chest puff in satisfaction when you try to hide your smile against his chest.
"Ha. Ha. Funny Kacchan…" Deku says, sitting on the ground right in front of you. Very different from you, Katsuki can not hide his own smile –not that he would even try to, which makes Deku roll his eyes and also smile. "How are you feeling, Y/N-chan?"
You exhale deeply; the long, tired sigh being answer enough, but you still say, "Like… all of this is a dream. Everything feels… surreal .” You gulp, finally pulling away a bit from Katsuki. He simply let you, hand still caressing your back in confort. “Like I’ll wake up any moment and be laying on the mattress on the floor in that one room apartment I live–used to… live.”
They both notice your slip as you frown and slide a hand through your lock in a clear frustrated sign.
“I don’t know… what’s fact and what’s fake anymore… I…” The tears fill your eyes once again, your hand now grabbing the beginning of your hair. Katsuki immediately grabs your wrist trying to make you let go. “I feel angry and sad… I feel devastated by what happened… But I also feel relief, and– I don’t know what’s the correct way to feel. I don’t fucking know who I am anymore!”
Katsuki hugs you again, rocking from side to side and hushing, whispering that everything is going to be okay.
He feels Izuku’s eyes on him, on both of you. And even if the fucker hasn’t said anything yet, Bakugou knows. FUCK. He fucking knows what his best friend is going to do. So he closes his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. Fighting his own tears back.
But he can’t hold them longer after he opens them and sees Aizawa standing at a distance. Waiting patiently. Katsuki hugs you tighter.
“Y/N-chan…” Izuku says, his gloved hand pressing on your shoulder to get your attention. “You need help. Until everything settles back into you, you need someone that can help you with this. Do we agree?”
You nod, crying and sniffing as you pull away again, and this time is Katsuki’s turn to not want to let you go. His arms grab you stronger for a moment as he hides his face on your neck.
He doesn’t want to let you go. He just got you back. He has so much to say and do and prove. He doesn’t fucking want to let you go again.
Katsuki is in denial, he knows. And he also knows he is the most selfish bastard alive for not wanting to let you go so you can properly heal. But everything he has gone, without you, and now having a little taste of getting you back, whether that be even half of you… FUCK! He definitely sounds like the most egotistic, selfish motherfucker of all.
When he’s about to finally let you go, he feels your hand tangle in the back of his head in his hair. And when his eyes find yours, he sees it. He sees the need you have of him, the sadness, the joy, the kindness, everything… He sees the want, the care, the despair . So many emotions it’s even difficult for him to maintain eye contact.
And he sees it. The love…
“If there's something I haven’t forgotten is how I feel about you. But you don't deserve the me of right now…” He shakes his head in denial, his hands holding your face and cleaning your tears with his thumbs. “I will get better… I will come back for you.”
You smile at him, and a simple action hasn't hurt so much as this. Like someone stabbed him with a knife on his chest, right where his heart is. And he’s left there, bleeding towards his death as you caress his cheek delicately one more time and stand up and walk crying towards your old teacher.
Katsuki knows it is for your health and wellbeing, but who’s going to convince his heart that this isn’t again the last time he sees you? That you will come back, that you will look for him in your return.
He brings his knees towards his chest, arms hugging them and hiding his face there. And Katsuki cries. Like a child.
He feels Izuku’s movement to sit next to him as one of his arms surround his shoulder, and he has never been grateful enough to the nerd for being the fucking best friend he has ever had.
Bakugou Katsuki doesn’t look at you parting, walking away from him. He can’t.
But he wishes he had.

Divorcing Izuku Midoriya Headcanons
I'm on a creative rush, and this may make zero sense because I'm tired lmao. Anyways, have some angst <3
Tagging the babes: @doumadono @shonen-brainrot @trickster-kat @angelshimaa (babe, you've missed some very angsty posts) @xhieru @mimisxs @dabislittlemouse
Content Warning: Divorce, emotional abuse and manipulation, mention of baby-trapping, alcohol.
• As I said in my last post, divorcing Izuku is a nightmare. Think about the most energy-draining and mental health deteriorating process, and multiply it for a minimum of 6 months. Izuku won't make things easy for you at all, trying to drag and prolong the whole ordeal just to keep you close. I've divided this set of headcanons by key moments/topics to keep some order. I hope you enjoy them, I'm pouring my heart on these (also pay attention to detail because I'm working on something hehe).
Denial and confusion: the first days after you serve him papers
• Izuku genuinely doesn't understand why you want to leave, refusing to accept the fact that you're not happy being by his side. He's given you all there is to give: a comfortable house, nice clothes, expensive cars, etc. So when you serve him papers, Izuku's first reaction is confusion followed by fear. In that head of his, he's made everything a good husband has to do! So why? Why would you not be happy?
• If you were smart enough and planned your movements with care, you should be able to go through your divorce without depending financially on Izuku or having to live in the same place. You'd have to deal with his incessant calls and texts, often having to block unknown numbers to avoid hearing his whines, but it'd be less difficult. If you weren't thoughtful about the situation and proceeded without the right steps, oh, you're in for a treat: there's nowhere you can go besides the house you shared with him, no place where you can be at peace. You're at Izuku's mercy, like it or not, but that's another story.
• In addition to his denial, Izuku starts to (unconsciously) guilt trip you. Phrases like "Sorry for not being enough," and "I know I'm very pathetic" become frequent. It pains your heart to hear those things because you know Izuku loves you, you are just not compatible at all. You try to let him see it's not about being enough, it's more about effort; with much patience, you set things clear to avoid any misunderstandings, but Izuku just doesn't get it.
• "Haven't I done this or that for you? Didn't I buy you all these things? Am I not enough?" "Izuku, I didn't ask you for any of this, all I wanted was my husband..." Conversations like this occur during this phase, and they can only be held through the phone (when he is sober and not yelling/hollering how much of a mistake a divorce would be). He tries to gauge sympathy from you, telling you that his job is important but that he loves you so much!
• He becomes an empty shell of the bright ray of sunshine the public knew. It goes unnoticed by many, but the people who work around him can tell. It is then when he starts telling others about his marital situation, and you end up seeing faces you've met once or twice during galas or hero events. You "accidentally" stumble across your husband's colleagues, like Ochako, who try to convince you to give him a second chance. "I- I know we don't know each other a lot but please, consider it. Izuku is a great guy a-and I'm sure you guys could fix any problem!" It is embarrassing for you because no one wants people to know their issues.
• What's so ironic about the moment when you serve him papers is that he receives them at his office, the very root of all the problems in your marriage. It was the place where he had spent anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine's... those four walls witnessed the beginning and the end of your relationship. Izuku has a mental breakdown when he finally reads the documents but, hey, he was still pro-hero Deku, right?
Negotiations and lawyers: The first weeks and months
• If having to deal with Izuku's colleagues trying to change your mind wasn't enough, be ready for your soon-to-be ex trying to negotiate. Midoriya suggests couple's therapy to talk this through, and for a split of second, it almost sounds like a good idea! But then you remember all those times when Izuku had promised you he'd be there for you and failed. It didn't seem plausible after that... Besides, all things considered, it'd be hard to find a therapist who could see your side of the story. Who would dare to tell someone as charming and popular as Izuku that he failed as a husband?
• Once therapy is off the table, Izuku brings up children. It may be considered a low blow, especially if one of your dreams was to form a family with him, so his offer felt cruel. "W-we can have kids! Wouldn't you want that? We can be a big family, with one- No, two babies!" "Ouch, it takes a divorce for you to even think about it, huh? That's uh, slightly concerning. Besides, a kid needs a father too... I'm not planning on being a single mom in this marriage" Now, Izuku strikes me as the kind that would try to . to stay. I'm sorry if it sounds terrible, but considering how sometimes he acts on impulse, he really could try it.
• Izuku also tries to be at home more often; he "cooks" (it's takeout disguised as home meals), brings you coffee to the bed, and calls you all kinds of sappy nicknames... It saddens you, why couldn't he care like that before? Of course, this point only applies if you still live with him during this whole process. If you don't, he starts frequenting the places where he guessed could find you: cafeterias, plazas, shops...
• Finding a lawyer for you was a hard task, especially because everyone sees you as a "dumb" woman who is trying to divorce Japan's number one hero. Not to mention they were very expensive, and Izuku was certainly not giving you money for that. You tell Izuku that mediations need to happen to progress with the divorce, but he never shows up to the meetings. There's always an excuse for that man! No matter how much you plea, he refuses to sign the paper. Izuku also becomes very mean towards you, outright berating you for not understanding him. It's gruesome to see him turn into such a monster during these months.
• As an additional point for this part, Izuku hires a private investigator to follow you around. He feels bad for thinking of it, but the idea that you could be seeing someone else while you're trying to divorce him eats him alive.
Last resort: Mediatic battle
• The media is very quick to pick up your marriage's fall down. Time after time you visited your lawyer's office for them to put two and two together, and Izuku takes that to his advantage. Sensationalist articles had already been happening, a lot of them being cruel and demeaning towards you. Titles like "Is she a cheater?" "No amount of success gives you the girl!" And "Pro-hero Deku will be looking for a new wife soon" started popping up. You have to take down any social platform to avoid being targeted.
• It is when Izuku gives a public declaration that things get worse. "I'm sorry, my wife is just not happy with me anymore. Please respect her wish! Don't harass her, I failed as a husband." It may seem like a hearty and sorrowful declaration from the outside, but Izuku picked word by word to gain sympathy and pressure you into changing your mind. People in the street call you "heartless", and the stress simply keeps growing for you.
• To put it in simple words, you were David against Goliath, except Goliath was a glorified person who had all the resources and support of the people. You were nothing but a tiny mouse squeaking to be set free of a relationship that was suffocating you.
The aftermath: Supposing you haven't given up and he signed the divorce papers
• If you somehow manage to divorce him after all these problems, congratulations. You survived 5% of the drama that awaits you! Now you won't be able to date someone without people snapping photos for entertainment news or judging you for leaving "such a great man". Izuku will still try to convince you to go back to him, playing his "sad lover" role in front of the cameras so well! He'll try to send expensive gifts and tell you to keep the house, he'll call you drunk in the middle of the night, and if you're not careful enough, he may try to gaslight you into thinking nothing wrong was happening in your marriage.
• One particular thing I must mention is that Izuku only signed the papers after you yelled at him at one of the legal mediations, hot embarrassment tears falling from your tired eyes as you begged him to let you go.
• Anyways, the list could go on, but those are the main points of divorcing Izuku :')
"Please, just sign the papers..." You said through the phone, your voice tired of pleading to someone who simply refused to hear you. "I will, I will! I'm just a little under the snow with work. Can you reschedule?" Izuku said, apologizing for not being there for you. Excusing himself for failing you, but refusing to let go. "You know how many articles I've seen with my face saying how much of bitch I am for visiting my lawyer's office?"
Izuku's silence was deafening, you could only hear him sigh slightly, perhaps feeling bad for putting you in such a position. "I don't want this divorce."
"But I do, so don't make things more difficult for me, please." He heard you say, biting his lip to hold back the tears. Izuku was glad you couldn't see him, sitting alone in his office with a half-empty bottle of wine you'd gifted him for his birthday. "Do you remember what day is today?" He asked.
"I don't know, Monday? I haven't slept lately." You answered unamused. "It's our anniversary... we married 5 years ago, on this very day." His words came out as a slow slur, his breath hitching as he crumbled through the phone. "I miss you a lot, please-"
"I'll see you on Wednesday, if you're not there I swear to God..."
...
"Mr. Midoriya?" Your lawyer called, her voice bringing your anxious husband back to reality. "Ah, sorry, it's me. Is... is she in there?" He asked, pointing at her office. She just looked at him with little sympathy and nodded. "On time, as always. Maybe you should avoid keeping her waiting, that's the least you could considering how many times we've had these conversations."
"There's no way I can fix this, is there?" Izuku asked as if the lawyer cared. "Wanna do something nice for her? Divorce her."

Dekus no good, very bad, faceplant into masculinity and internalized homophobia
I made this a thought post from chapter 402 originally, but I can’t let these thoughts fester any longer. Gotta be correct about it 🫶🫶🫶
Alright so when I originally talked about this on a couple of platforms (not just tumblr, tiktok too and a bit on Twitter that has no connection to this account lmao) I feel like people told me that I was “stretching” with my assumptions.
But then Toga’s backstory being told to Ochako was… directly referenced to a queer allegory. And in 394, she directly says that she likes girls. It’s the thing said last, implying it’s something she’s still ashamed of feeling.
This chapter basically confirmed in my mind that Himiko’s blood quirk was the equivalent to the homophobia that was probably in her own household. And in my mind, that means that blood quirk = metaphor on her queer experience.
And then suddenly, the pieces clicked into place.
In 348, Izuku disagrees with Himiko and Ochako’s ideals—not only at the idea of girly romance, but also at unconventional romance.
Ochako has distanced herself due to Izuku’s inability to confront his own feelings. Shown both physically and metaphorically.
Ochako took all the steps to walk away because from Izuku. Because Izuku held her back.
Or more rather, she realized that Izuku was no allmight, but rather just an average boy in need of saving as anyone else. He is someone who’s flaws cannot align with Ochako’s own ideals for a relationship.
Because ochako is weird.
Izuku holds her back. She can’t be everything she needs to be while around him.
And that’s something Izuku’s not going to understand, not like how she needs him to understand.
And Himiko knows who Ochako is on a more fundamental level than Izuku ever will, and that’s okay.
I feel like whenever I talk about these character flaws having to do with Izuku, it almost sounds like I’m bashing him? I swear, I’m not, it makes complete sense as to why he is this way. And there are people (Katsuki) in the world who can have this in a relationship under the right communication, and some people can’t. And that’s just how we exist. That’s okay. We don’t all have to be compatible with everyone.
Back to the main point, the pieces and the people putting those pieces together were starting to see their parallels.
Even the manga placement parallels them, especially with how clever I feel horikoshi can be with his paneling.
Looking down, looking up. Both three quarter angles. Small mouth expression, big mouth expression. And that blush.
Fake smile when unhappy. Falling for someone who is dying, who you’d do anything for, even toe the line of death defending them, fixing them—just because you can’t help but love someone you wish had walked into your life sooner (or in Izuku’s case, accepted into your life sooner).
Someone you’d sacrifice for. Someone you’re violent for. Someone you’d kill for.
Someone you’d rather let an entire population of people die for than live without.
Someone you’re undeniably, unequivocally, selfish for.
And yet Izuku doesn’t recognize his same symptoms of love through Himiko Toga as Ochako does.
Himiko must be dehumanized to Izuku, because if she’s a person, then she is him.
(What’s even more interesting about this panel, is that if the characters were reversed and it was about Izuku’s violent feelings over protecting Katsuki, danger sense would be going off constantly. So toga is the perfect counter, but Izuku is the ultimate weakness.)
So, okay, how exactly do these things matter? How does this have to do with Izuku’s own personal struggle over his masculinity?
I think what’s important to clarify here is that when I say “internalized homophobia”, I don’t mean that he necessarily is beating himself up over the fact that he likes a boy instead of a girl.
I think it’s connected to his fear of rejection, and his own personal issues having to do with remaining a “strong man” instead of a “weak man”.
Izuku may not believe that liking men is anyone’s business but his own, but does Katsuki think that?
Izuku has called his feelings of admiration gross. Not that he himself is an awful person for feeling them, but that Katsuki will be the one to think they’re gross. And he’s worked so hard to get to this point in their relationship, he doesn’t wanna let it go over some stupid feelings.
And this is where toga comes into the picture, his parallels between her, because just how is Toga supposed to know that Ochako isn’t judging her for her feelings? Technically, all of the things she’s said before the final fight between them have only proved the inevitable. That Toga is gross, a freak, a predator, a danger, because she loves a woman.
How is Izuku supposed to interpret being called a stalker by Katsuki? How is he supposed to interpret when people call him creepy for his muttering and analyzation? How is he supposed to interpret being called a crybaby by his idol, Katsuki, and everyone else when he cannot control that?
How can he handle feelings that are out of his control, and still believe that they’re okay?
And at the very least, even if homophobia doesn’t exist in mha, heteronormativity does. Especially shown through Ashido, a straight girl.
None of that is necessarily Allmight, Katsuki, or even Ochako’s fault, because of course they’re just teasing him—but it doesn’t change the fact that it affects how he perceives himself.
So when I say that Izuku has problems with internalized homophobia, I mean that he is afraid of how the people around him will perceive him, than a constant feeling of self hatred due to not liking women.
And when I say that his internalized homophobia is an extension of his masculinity, I mean that because he has no confidence in himself and his more vulnerable emotions, he is unable to accept what or who he is. This ofc affects the people around him, like saying that Ochako CANT be weird because she’s just “so amazingly normal” without realizing that he’s just downplaying who she is and what she thinks, or dehumanizing the most openly queer character in the series because it benefits the perception he has of himself, or even silently rejecting Katsuki’s feelings simply out of a need to “control his heart and control his quirk”.
In Izuku’s mind, the only way to keep Katsuki is to not be the weird kid he was in his childhood. In a way, Izuku is still performing for Katsuki.
#so. hello.#ME ACTUALLY POSTING AN NOT REBLOGGING ADVENTURE TIME??? not as rare as you think..#I really should’ve wrote this more focused on allmight#bc that’s where a majority of the MASCULINITY ISSUES come from#but I’ve missed talking about them a lot okay y’all#bkdk#togachako#midoriya izuku#mha deku#bkdk brainrot#bakudeku#bakugou katsuki#bnha deku#mha analysis#deku midoriya

I'd absolutely love to hear what you have to say about Time 🙃 /gen
And, I hope you are feeling well. I think you said you were dizzy? I hope that gets better 🫶
I’m feeling much better, thank you!! I hope you’re going good as well :)
Sorry this took me a whole day to type out, but I finished!! I got it!!
I have a lot more thoughts, I had to cut a lot for the sake of making it readable and not obnoxiously long so I really hope I still get my points across well 😭 , but here we go:
An Abridged Version of My Thoughts on Time (I’m Insane I’m Sorry):
Okay so I’m starting off this whole thing by saying that 100% of this is my opinion and the research I did was done specifically to back my stance (which does not make it canonical fact. You can do research to back any point. You can do research to argue against my point, even). This doesn’t make my perspective or interpretation of a character the correct one by any means, and this definitely leans towards how I personally characterize and view him and is biased in that way because I’m the one who wrote it. All of you are entitled to your own opinions, you don’t have to agree with or listen to a single thing I say. In fact if you do disagree I encourage you to reblog and share your OWN thoughts so I can read YOUR perspective! I like seeing opinions people have and I love to see how differently all of us can view the same character /gen. I just that ask if you do do this, that you be kind and respectful to myself and others :)
This entire yap, analysis, whatever you wanna call it, is my perspective on Time and my thoughts behind why I believe he acts the way he does. At some point in all this I’m specifically going to focus on how he’s acting at the end of the Dawn arc and in the more recent updates. However in order to talk about that I wanna go to the beginning and talk about his past, the environment he grew up in, his relationships with others, and how I believe that has shaped the way he functions as an adult. My apologies now for being insane, unfortunately I have no life and also a lot of thoughts, and full access to a college library full of case studies- My professors would be so proud… Hope y’all enjoy lmao
Loneliness and Isolation:
One of the first things I noticed when I started playing OOT was this divide between Link and the Kokiri. Despite the fact that none of them know he’s actually a hylian, the bullying and teasing and the way they treat him for not having a fairy feels as though they’re making him to be different from them. Even Saria and the Great Deku Tree speak to/about him in ways that make it seem that, even though they care about him, they do see him as different from the others. (Granted, Saria’s treatment of Link is likely fully an unintentional thing. She doesn’t mean to be cruel when she makes her comment about how after Link got his fairy he could be a real Kokiri because she is a child and probably didn’t think about how that would come off to a kid who’s been arguably treated as less than for not having a fairy this entire time. She’s probably aware of how upset he’s been, but they’re children and I doubt she realized her attempt at comfort potentially made Time feel worse. The Great Deku Tree, on the other hand, referring to him as ‘the boy without a fairy’ immediately makes it clear to us as the player that Link is different from the Kokiri. He knows Link is hylian, which is something the player, Link, and the Kokiri do not know at this point)
Not having a fairy like the others certainly separates Time from the Kokiri because having a fairy companion appears to be a huge deal, something everyone has in common except for him. While it isn’t really on the same scale, I imagine this feeling of not having something your friends do could be, to an extent, comparable to how it would feel if all your peers had cell phones or social media access and you did not. (BAD EXAMPLE I KNOW BUT HEAR ME OUT.) The ability to consume media at such a fast pace and share jokes and trends with peers has become something to bond over, and being outside of that ‘world’ would leave someone to feel like they’re missing out on something they couldn’t possibly understand unless they get it for themselves. When your friends all have phones and you don’t, you have to sit there awkwardly when they all pull them out to text people or look things up, even if you’re doing something that doesn’t even require being on your phone, like going to the mall or hanging out. Sure they might show you a meme or two, but you can’t show them your memes, or share things and exist in the online world the way they do. Time could see and interact with the others’ fairies but he didn’t have that for himself, and I imagine it was probably hard for him to bond with the Kokiri because of it. Even if they were just playing a game or messing around and he wasn’t even being teased for not having a fairy of his own, those other fairies were right there as a constant reminder that Time didn’t have his own companion because he was, for a reason he couldn’t understand, different
Having played Skyward Sword and the beginning of Twilight Princess and seeing how both of those Links are treated by the people around them in comparison to how the Kokiri interact with Time, it feels safe to say there’s a good possibility he felt out of place and a little isolated by his own community. The way he was seemingly blamed for the death of the Great Deku Tree after finding out the life altering information that he is different probably did nothing but cause further divide between himself and the Kokiri in his mind, if not completely sever the connection he had between himself and that community
Do I think the Kokiri completely excluded him and intentionally tried to isolate him? No, I do not. However it’s clear that Saria was his best friend and the others weren’t always the nicest to him. It’s not too far a stretch to say he probably felt very lonely at times in his childhood, more so than the average kid
The theme of isolation and loneliness continues when the timeline shenanigans happen at the end of OOT and Time is now the only one who knows what happened to him. He has absolutely nothing to show for what he physically just went through and he can tell people about it all he wants but they’ll never understand because for them it simply never happened. Once again Time is isolated from this community he finds himself a part of because he’s different from them in a way they cannot relate to, driving a wedge between him and the rest of society. And Malon and Zelda are not people who would intentionally drive him further from feeling like he can belong, but they will forever be different from him in a way none of them now have the power to control. He formed relationships with them and with other people that were then erased. He knows a version of them that doesn’t exist anymore (in the timeline he continued to live in), and he’s alone in that. There IS no fix to that problem
Attachment Styles and Development
Relationships are crucial to child development and the connections formed when we’re young impact the way we create and view our relationships in adulthood. Peer relationships are just as important as parental ones because they play a different role. While your friends are the ones who have more of an impact on things like your music tastes, interests, and sense of identity/role within your group of peers, it’s your parents/caregivers who teach you right from wrong (often religion plays a part in that as well though not always), are responsible for feeding you and helping you learn new skills as a young child. Having a secure attachment and good relationship to caregivers when you’re young really impacts how you seek comfort as an adult and how you form relationships with others. Children whose parents or caregivers responded to their distress in unpredictable ways (by offering comfort sometimes and being unable to other at times, for an example) are less likely to seek out those figures for comfort or be soothed by them when the comfort is offered. I have no idea exactly how old Time was when he was placed with the Kokiri or what his mother was like, but I feel it’s fair to say the Great Deku Tree was probably the closest thing to a parental figure/caregiver (while he was living with the Kokiri) that he has any memory of. And I also feel it’s fair to say that as the stationary tree guardian of a bunch of immortal children, it was pretty impossible for him to support all of those kids’ emotional needs
Making this assumption based solely on Navi’s role in the story and what she does for us as players of the game: I feel like the fairy companions might almost be more of a parental/caregiver like figure to the Kokiri children than the Great Deku Tree is, simply because they’re able to be around them more. Navi helps Time (and the player) find things, gives clues, and helps the player with the game controls, so inside the actual game I think it’d be fair to say she (and other fairies) have more of a hands on role in guiding these children than the Great Deku Tree. And again, Time didn’t have that, not until his adventure started. He didn’t have a fairy companion while his friends and peers did, he was on his own. He wasn’t getting that potential comfort from a reliable caregiver the others were, which I believe can be partly responsible for how determined he is to solve his own issues. (Of course personality also has a play in things like this, and as we all know the hero’s spirit is incredibly fucking stubborn.) He was taught through the failures of the ‘adult’ figures in his life that the only one who’d be there to really comfort him was him
Identity and Relationships
Apart from feeling alone and not having the same types of companionship his peers did, I firmly believe Time seriously struggled with identity issues as well. Being told he wasn’t enough for the Master Sword yet, just to then be suddenly physically several years older and expected to operate as an adult despite having less than a decade of life experience, back to being shoved into the body of a child after living through horrors and accumulating scars that are now just gone doesn’t real make for the most confident, mentally stable of people. The message he most likely took from that was “You’re not enough as you are.”
He was a hero who saved a kingdom, then forgotten when everything was set back, and then abandoned by the one person (fairy) who went through it all with him after it was all done. If he’d felt alone or isolated in his youth before all that happened, I can’t imagine how overwhelming all those emotions were after all that. He needed Navi because she’s the only one who can really validate what he went through, she was the only one who could have understood him. She was a guardian and a friend and he couldn’t figure out why she left him, which must’ve just been absolutely devastating.
He was still just a kid, with no one to talk to about these issues. (Though he sort of works through some of them on his own through helping others in Majora’s Mask. Granted that left him with new issues even if it may have helped him work through a few old ones. I think there are quite a lot of similarities between Link and Skull Kid, but that’s a yap for another day.) I can imagine that both his identity and what he was supposed to do with himself were things he questioned constantly, and building relationships with people was probably very difficult for him when he hadn’t fully worked out himself. And he didn’t really have someone to comfort him or help him figure all that out
At a certain point, I think the feeling of being alone became almost a comfort to him. It was the most reliable thing he had, he could handle things on his own and that was something he knew for fact. He learned how to deal with his emotions and issues (maybe not in the healthiest of ways in his youth), and instead of being so suffocating, the isolation became something he could CONTROL. With all the instability throughout his childhood, the fact that he could reliably be on his own without dealing with the unpredictability of others was probably a relief. He didn’t have to worry about people leaving or getting hurt because he couldn’t protect them, but that didn’t really replace the feeling of loneliness so much as sloppily cover it up
Malon and the ranch are things that have been able to give him something he hadn’t had in years, which was stability and companionship. He’s been alone and isolated or dealing with loss his entire life, but she’s able to provide him with something steady, something safe to come back to. That’s been absolutely huge for him in regards to the healing process, because not only is it said in LU that she believes him completely, she’s literally his biggest supporter. And having a sturdy location and person to come back to at the end of whatever little trips he probably continued to go off to gave him comfort while still allowing him to keep that feeling of control over himself and his life. Sure not everything is perfect all the time and relationships are things that you have to put time, effort, and patience into, but he’s allowed to have his support and his much needed feeling of control over his life at the same time while living in that scenario. She loves him, she loves him very much and I have no doubt they worked together to get him to the place of comfort he’s at now. The panels from any of the ‘Malon’ posts are really the most relaxed we’ve seen Time for long stretches of time, it’s clear he’s been able to make a safe space for himself there
And now here’s the part where I actually talk about the recent comic update(s)!!!!!!!! (Yippee!!!)
Time is a very quiet, stoic character in LU especially when compared to the others, which are qualities that pull a lot from the hero’s shade. He’s the unofficial official leader, and he’s at a point in his life where he’s been able to work on himself and form healthy relationships (not perfect ones, but healthy ones built on communication which is clearly a struggle for him still but I cannot afford to get into that this post because that’s way too much. If y’all want a yap about that, ask me later). He puts a lot of stress and pressure onto himself, because he feels as though he’s responsible for these younger heroes, even though some of them have far more experience than he does
But in addition to this, he’s absolutely terrified of caring about people, and he’s not used to working with other people in this area of his life. Because no one sticks around, and if they do, what’s stopping the timeline from resetting somehow and taking their memory of him away? He no longer has the stability and comfort that comes with being alone because he’s forced to work with other people, other heroes who are equal to him in that regard, and people are unpredictable. And with unpredictability comes loss of control
Anger is an easier emotion for a child to process, and express themself through. This is why depression in children often manifests itself as anger. Children dealing with depression have a harder time managing and controlling their anger and can come off as snappier, inattentive, and reckless (obviously this is not the same case for every single child). While he certainly isn’t a child anymore in LU, I think Time is still someone who when overwhelmed is quick to anger, but this does not mean that he’s not kind. He’s incredibly kind and caring, and you can tell he loves everyone around him so deeply even though he’s probably a bit angry at himself for letting them all worm their way into his heart because he’s going to have to let them go some day. But still, some of that snappiness comes through even in his adult years and he’s a lot harsher with the others than I believe he intends to be. He’s not genuinely angry at them, he’s mad at the situation they’re in right now because he’s no longer responsible for just himself. He doesn’t have control anymore, and he’s probably back to feeling like a scared child who might be about to lose everyone again and he hates that
Twilight got hurt and he blames himself for it. He’s in an unfamiliar situation with people he cares a lot about who are all just as reckless and determined as he is, and he has absolutely no idea what to do with himself because in his mind if he lets something happen to one of these boys, that’s on him and he should’ve done better
Ough (A Continuation of ‘Isolation’)
In a way Time exists on a different level of the timeline. He retained memories of things that no longer exist, and he’s witnessed the rewritting of time over and over again. The timeline he was born in may no longer be the one he exists in, though it certainly branched from that original one. He has knowledge and memories of relationships that are real to only him in the timeline where he lives, and I would argue that because of this, he lives outside of society
Now this genuinely has nothing to do with anything I just wanna yap about something because The Voices, and it’s gonna be a fucking reach but if you’ve stayed this long you must find something appealing about my incoherent rambling so allow me to draw a genuinely insane comparison between Time and his existence in society and ‘The Lady of Shallot’, written in 1832 by a poet by the name of Alfred Tennyson. If you have no idea what this is, it’s incredibly short and easy to find with a quick google search, and I encourage you to read it. But for those of you who didn’t sign up for a poetry assignment today I’ll summarize
The Lady of Shallot is cursed to stay in a tower away from the rest of society and she’s unable to look upon Camelot with her own eyes, because something bad will happen if she does though she has no idea what. Day after day she creates these tapestries of what she sees of the society behind her through a mirror. She’s unable to look at it with her own eyes so what she creates is unable to perfectly reflect what it is the world has to offer. And she’s absolutely sick of it, she sees happy people wandering down below, knights riding through, she sees through her mirror what life is like for those within society and she wants to join them. She sees a beautiful man one day (Lancelot) and decides the curse is worth it, just for a chance to leave her tower, so she turns around and sees Camelot with her own eyes. She leaves her tower and goes to join society but by the time she gets there she’s dead
Now one of the meanings hidden within this is how artists are almost outside of society and that is how they are able to so accurately depict it, and that joining society and being ‘normal’ would make them unable to keep their unique perspective that isolation provides. But I’m going to be crazy here and draw parallels to a video game character because I CAN
Time exists outside of society and is isolated from every community he tries to be a part of because the differences between him and the Kokiri/normal hylian are so significant he feels like he doesn’t belong there. Despite having built his sense of identity back up, he still, to an extent, feels like an outsider. The things he’s been through separate him from being able to just be a normal guy, and he craves so badly to be part of a community he’s almost convinced himself he CANNOT join. The chain (and Malon, but mainly the other heroes) help him have something to connect to, because while they may not have the exact same experience they understand him more than anyone else ever could. He then tries to join society, something happens, and he dies a warrior full of regrets
Is it a reach? Yeah. But I like the poem and I can’t stop thinking about the parallels (that I’ve probably completely fucking made up at this point) every time I think too long about Time and it makes me claw at the dry wall and scream. I’m so normal…
Anyways, *weak cough* thanks for reading, if you did. It means a lot that you’ve supported my insanity. I hope this is coherent-
Thanks Emmie for reading through this for me 😭, and special shoutout to every single one of you who sent me asks yesterday to remind me to write this I love you all sm actually:

I. Midoriya - New Beginnings
Synopsis. Stained and calloused, the commission has nurtured your palms into silent artillery and trained you to fight the wolves they throw you in with. Not at all accounting for the possibility that you too might learn to bite the hand that feeds you.
- or alternatively - in which the Hero Commission recruits YOU to go undercover as a student in UA to keep a certain class, who already seems to be a magnet for trouble, in check…
It’s safe to say you get a little more than what your briefing covered.
A story of the finding of self love, a family, and a new beginning.
Series masterlist.
Chapter warnings. emotional manipulation, Izuku Midoriya the man that you are, deku accidentally hurts the reader a LOT in this chap LMAO, more hitting deku in the nuts, silly willy class A working their magic on the reader, aizawa brining out reader’s suppressed daddy issues?! remember when I said class A shenanigans last chapter? Well, it’s worse this chapter.
Chapter synopsis. Let’s go to camp! But first, Madam President wants to speak to you again? No biggie!…
3| Training Camp: start. 11.3k words
You couldn't lie to yourself, you were nervous.
Around a half hour ago, you had received the familiar orders to head west once again. You hadn't planned to be returning for a debriefing so suddenly, much less when your mission had hardly even began. Nonetheless, you pulled on your hero suit and walked the overfamiliar dull halls of the HPSC headquarters.
Upon entering the room, you notice the president seated behind her desk with her elbows propped up and fingers interlaced before her face.
'Oh no, she's in her classic anime villain pose.' You shriek internally.
"Aeron, come closer." She orders, voice dangerously low.
Gulping, you noticed that she had skipped the traditional wishes of pleasant mornings and formal greetings. "Madam President." You acknowledge, assuring her that your attention was on what she was to speak of and no where else.
"Take a look at this," She utters and reveals a news article from the folder that lays upon her desk top. The said article discussed a student of UA being manhandled and threatened at the local mall just yesterday. "So? What do you have to say for yourself?"
A look of horror paints your face, not able to fathom what she held before your eyes. "You still read the newspaper?!"
"Aeron. Be serious for once in your life." Her eyes harden as she grits your hero alias bitterly. "Where were you?" She asks.
"With all due respect, President, I had no way of knowing this was going to happen. It's simply not possible to know of every single student's whereabouts throughout every hour of the day." You defend yourself.
"Of course not," She spits as if the words were laced with acidic lemon juice. "But it is possible when they travel in a group. Apparently most of the class was also present, call it an outing of some sort. A class you are now apart of, so I repeat: Where were you?" She drills.
Lowering your head in a state of dishonor, you feel yourself shrink at the weight of her disapproving gaze, "I wasn't informed." You mutter softly.
"You weren't invited, Aeron. That is the problem here. You must gain their trust and camaraderie so that you are made aware of these instances. An elite hero course class from a prestigious academy all in the same building, with no protection might I add. Any intelligent villain would seize this opportunity. Unfortunately, one did."
Finally gaining the courage to lift your head, you ask, "Were they harmed?"
"Thankfully, no one was. The police are launching an investigation as to why the villain solely sought out a singular student, and you are going to be of their aid."
"Of their aid?" You repeat curiously. "What might that entail?"
"Nothing that alters your current objective as of yet, at least not too much." She answers, "All we ask is that, if you find any important information, no matter how minute it may seem, you are to report it to me directly."
"Information regarding what exactly?" You inquire, still not completely comprehending what it was she was asking of you.
"Izuku Midoriya."
The moment she uttered his name into the existence of your conversation, your body instantly went on edge. There was something about that boy that had your instincts going erratic, not in the aspect where you felt yourself in danger, or rather, physical danger, but instead as if you were exploring uncharted lands. Hiking Mount Everest or sailing the Bermuda Triangle.
His aura alone was enough to intrigue you. It was asphyxiating, as if he had accumulated generations worth of energy in his still young body.
"We don't think it's anything sinister regarding the boy, but we need information so that we are caught off guard no more." She further explains. "I trust you can handle this additional weight to your objective."
Still, it pains you that you were unable to fulfill your mission's goal of keeping them safe. More so, it pains you to disappoint the blonde woman before you.
"Forgive me, Madam President. This won't happen again, I will assure it." You promise as you place your hands on your thighs and bend your body into the deepest bow you could conjure as your heart aches in the gaze of her disappointed stare, "As well as, you can count on me to relay any information regarding Izuku Midoriya directly to you, commissioner."
"See to it that it doesn't." She states, before a brief pause ensues. "Aeron, I chose you specifically because I know that you are capable of this task. You have never and will never disappoint me. In fact, I want you to take this as a mere warning."
"A warning of what, President?"
"A warning of what could happen, should you not properly integrate yourself into the coterie of aspiring heroes, in other words, should you not take this seriously. You have done nothing wrong as of yet, I just want you to expand on your efforts of befriending these students. Whether you have to fake it till you make it or not, the sooner you act, the better. When do you begin attending classes?" She ends with an inquiry.
Nodding in compliance, you answer, "It is currently summer break, but I was invited to attend the summer training camp, which should enact soon."
"Very well, I believe I have made the correct choice. Feel free to prove truth to my judgement." She tells you with finalization.
Bowing once again, this time in confirmation, you accept orderly. "Affirmative, I shall do so with pleasure." Straightening your back and looking to the woman for approval of your departure, your eyes hold nothing but the familiar gaze of an obedient child soldier.
A loyal government dog.
That fact causes a pleased smile to grace the chair woman's lips.
"UA has finished its first semester and started summer vacation." Mr. Aizawa announces, before his mercury eyes harden into narrow slits and he scrutinizes his class. "However, those of you aiming to be heroes will not receive a single day of rest. At this summer camp, we will have you striving for even greater heights. Go plus ultra and all that."
"Yes, sir!" The class yells in unison upon his dismissal and the weary teacher drags his feet across the pavement as he leaves to finalize the preparations for the trip.
"Aeron!"
At the abrupt call of your name, your head shifts to find none other than Iida hastily padding his way over to where you stood.
"As this is your very first excursion with us as a class, allow me, Tenya Iida: your new Class Representative, to extend a warm welcome your way. Of course, as much enjoyment as this will bring us, please heed Mr. Aizawa's earlier words of staying on task and sparing no effort regarding your training. As you know, training regiments are a very crucial component to-"
"Oh. Em. Gee!" A high pitched squeal interrupts his headstrong monologue, leaving the boy sputtering in its wake. "I cannot believe that Mr. Aizawa let you join us for camp. This'll be the best opportunity to get to know each other and he must have known that!"
Pink fingers gingerly gripped your arm as she tugged and swayed you every which way. Taken aback by her enthusiastic greeting, you fight the urge to pull away, nearly jumping out of your own skin at the foreign touch. In all honesty, you would've, if not for the chair woman's earlier words ringing in your ears.
Are all teenagers in this day and age so open to physical contact? You weren't sure you shared that sentiment, for the goosebumps on your arm sent your mind reeling as if her fingers would burn directly into your bones any second now.
"I don't think that is the reason he chose to invite me." You reply, your gaze bouncing repeatedly from her expression to the grip she holds you with. Though, after noticing the subtle way she faltered in her enthusiasm, your backtrack was immediate. "But, I totally agree! There's always enough time for a good time!" You mask your hesitance with forced equal vivacity.
"Right?" She agrees, "We'll play truth or dare, roast marshmallows, and have a class potluck!"
"Ahem! Ashido, it was terribly rude of you to interrupt me as I was welcoming our new comrade to our class. A favorable relationship with each other is vital to success on the battle field, you'd do well to exercise these same practices. In fact, I can tell you more about this topic if you'd like! Your personality will make this as easy as eating pie-"
"She doesn't want you to do that, Iida. I think Aeron will live without your formal greeting. Ribbit." Asui joins in the conversation, and her words do well at diminishing his intense interest in speaking to you. Though, perhaps too much. At the forlorn expression on his face, you enter a sudden state of brief panic.
'Jeez, first Ashido and now this guy... are all kids my age this sensitive? A few words are able to deter their enthusiasm? I can't allow his eagerness to make me feel welcome disappear, how will I befriend him if he decides he no longer wants to speak to me? He's the class rep, if I have him on my side, the rest are sure to follow!'
"But! It is very much appreciated, Mr. Class rep. I agree, our camaraderie definitely plays an imperial role in our pending future, which is why this is the perfect first excursion of mine with you all as a class."
"Yikes, you're sounding an awful lot like Iida there." Sero inserts himself. "Can't believe he's rubbing off on you already. What happened to the snarky overconfident chick that kicked all of our asses while talking the most shit?"
"Did I? I don't recall..." You lie.
"Don't sell yourself so short, Aeron. That shit talking was well deserved, we were getting too cocky." Kirishima adds suddenly. "With your performance during our practicals, I'm sure you'll not only better yourself this summer, but you'll totally push us to our limits as well! Don't you agree, Bakugo?"
The blond in question stood beside him, clearly not amused by the conversation being had. You could tell so by his scowl and sharp squinted eyes he pointed in your direction. Though, the only thing he releases is a coherent dissatisfied grunt.
"Hey come on, don't be rude. First meetings- or er, I guess second meetings in this case, are important! We're gonna be classmates!" Kirishima urges.
"I don't care." The blond rasps and flicks away the hand that the red head had placed onto his shoulder, "We're not here to play pretend. Besides, what you say doesn't match the look in your eyes." His words, directed at you, cause your smile to strain in its corners as you fight off the scowl that yearns to paint your lips.
Of course, he isn't wrong. But you don't need him pointing out the obvious when it's clear that the rest of the students are too oblivious to see so as well. He would only end up blowing your cover.
'Okay, I knew this guy was trouble but I didn't think he'd cause me trouble.'
"Aw, you just sound jealous Bakugo." Jirou teases, to which the boy responds with a roll of his eyes. "Still not over the broken nose?"
"Shut the hell up!"
"Ugh, whatever! What I'm most excited about is the activities we'll get to do together. Which reminds me, I've been meaning to ask you, Ronnie. What the hell is your skin care routine?!" Ashido demands the information to spill out of your mouth, her urgency clear as she shakes you by the shoulders arduously.
"Skin care rou-tine?" You articulate as best as you can whilst you are manhandled. "Wait, who is Ronnie?" You register as the girl halts her motions.
The girl giggles, "You, silly. It's a cute nickname, right?"
You eye her warily, because, a nickname? Other than Keigo, no one has ever dared to do such an intimate thing. Teenagers are weird, you realize. Or at least, the ones you have met so far. How could they, or more specifically the girl before you, behave so trustingly towards a person they've met with only once before? It was so confusing. Confusing to the point where it was stupid to you. So very stupid. The stupidest thing you've ever experienced. Stupidity at its finest.
Your cheeks are on fire.
"Y-yeah, whatever. Ronnie is fine." You reply in what was your attempt at a nonchalant tone.
"Damn right she is." Comes the atrocious voice of the smallest student in the entire school, his size only being rivaled by the principal himself. With drool spilling down his face, his small palms rub themselves together as he gawks at your exposed legs. Though, his ogling doesn't last long. Sero's leg making contact and kicking the rodent away made sure of that.
"As for my skin routine, I packed most of my products, as well as a few extras. I could show you later, if you'd like?" You offer, unsure of what else could satisfy the teen.
"That sounds amazing! Oh, if you have enough, we should totally invite the other girls too!" She adds, and then as if on cue, Uraraka begins to exclaim her excitement for the upcoming trip.
"Let's hear it for camp! Camp! Camp! Camp!"
Well, you've definitely got yourself an enthusiastic bunch. For better or for worse.
"I heard some of class A is taking extra courses! Does that mean you guys actually failed the final exam? That must be so embarrassing! Of course, I'd never know how that feels like." Yells a sudden high pitched voice, foreign to your ears. "On top of that, I've heard talk about the addition of another student to your roster. Do you guys need all the help you can get? They're probably just as much of a naturally shallow loser as the rest of your class!-"
Though, the loud blonde comes to a screeching halt in both his exaggerating movements and degrading remarks alike as he scans the crowd before him. His manic eyes, widening as they do so, land on you.
And his worst nightmare becomes a reality as his cheeks flush baby pink.
Mistaking his bashful state for a threatening glare, sizing up his opponent as he stares into your soul, you ask with an edge to your voice, "What?"
Dread then fills his features as he registers the reason as to why the butterflies in his tummy are running rampant. "Oh come on!" He stomps his feet in place alike a child. "That is so not fair! When is it our turn?! Why do they always get nice things?!" He proclaims to the sky in a vast anguish.
Before he can muster the strength to shake his fist at the clouds, a ginger arrives on the scene and chops at his neck, which causes him to face plant painfully onto the concrete beneath their feet.
"Don't mind him." She says idly as she drags him away by the back of his collar.
"Monoma's scary..." Mutters yet another foreign voice. Arriving as a pack, the only other hero course class joins your own as you patiently wait to board your busses.
"Oh, the rest of class B!"
A girl with silky dark green curls and sharp teeth that glint with her smile greets the crowd before her. "Hey, it's nice to see you guys outside of the sports festival. I guess now, we're technically not rivals any longer." She teases, before her serpent eyes land on your figure. "And a new face? A nice change of pace, I've gotta admit." She drawls and extends a palm in your direction. "The name is Setsuna Tokage. It's a pleasure to meet you. Sorry about Monoma, he can be a little much at times, but luckily Kendo is here to keep him in check."
Placing your palm in hers, you both give each other a steady shake. "Aeron." You say and release your grip. "The pleasure's all mine. Give kendo my gratitude, will you?"
Her eyes briefly flash with recognition and she smiles widely with poorly masked astonishment. "Will do, Aeron."
"Time to get on the bus!" Kendo yells by the bus doors.
"Ah, it looks like there's our cue. We'll see you guys at camp." Tokage bids you farewell.
"Class A and class B?" Mineta mutters as he wipes at his sliver with his arm. "It's like a buffet of bombshells."
"Dude. Get yourself together before Aizawa leaves you here." Kirishima scolds.
Iida takes the initiative as a proper class president should and moves the class along. "Attention class A, our bus is here! Everyone line up in seating order! Aeron, you can sit beside me as you don't have an official student number yet!"
"You guys never listen to me..." Iida murmurs as he woefully overlooks the arrangement in which his classmates sit in, noticeably arbitrarily rather than the formal order he prefers.
"He drew, what?!" You screech.
"Deserved." Bakugo declares from his seat aways away.
Kaminari cackles in his seat, hand repeatedly slapping the red head beside him. "I still have the pictures!"
"We all actually took a turn at writing on your face." Kirishima says, his beaming smile never faltering even at the dull look you point at him.
"I drew a heart!" Uraraka announces from the seat in front of you. "You're surprisingly a very deep sleeper."
"I'm usually not... I was just really tired because of my quirk." You explain and punctuate your sentence with a groan. "Kaminari, give me your fucking phone."
"Language." Iida mutters, "There are a million different ways to word that sentence."
"Kaminari, give me your damn phone."
"Still not good enough." Aizawa adds from his seat at the front.
"Kaminari. Give. Me. Your. Phone." You grit.
"No way, Jose!" He squeals and shoves the device in his pants. Who the hell is Jose? "This is peak blackmail material, I'm guarding this shit with my life."
"I give up. Say whatever you want." Iida sighs exasperatedly.
"On the bright side, I felt really bad and decided to wipe it all off of your face before you woke up." Midoriya reassures you, sitting beside his class president and clutching his notebook to his chest. "Which reminds me, you said that you're usually not such a deep sleeper, but because of your quirk, which I'm assuming you're referring to your quirk usage, you didn't feel a thing when every one of us took a turn at doodling on your face. This can only be just one of the many drawbacks such a powerful quirk has to wield, am I right? Do you mind telling me more about the drawbacks and what comes after you've reached those limits? And what about the manifestation of each power that Vitality grants you, where does all of that energy even go? Do you receive the energy or does it simply dissipate into the air? I'm assuming it's the former, since the energy you consume is not invisible, so we surely would be able to see it floating about in the air. What would happen if you were to overload your body with too much of that energy? Would it be too much to handle, which would cause your body to explode? If so, did you have to train your body to reach a certain stage to be able to handle and maintain such extreme amounts-"
"Please. Stop. Talking." You grimace, already feeling the incoming migraine you'd have to deal with for the rest of the day, forcing your fingers to rub at your temples in search for comfort.
"Speaking of pictures, this is officially our first road trip we will take as a class!" Uraraka announces, twisting and squirming in her seat in what you guessed to be excitement. "I mean yeah, it's not that long of a drive, but still."
"That has nothing to do with pictures, Ochako. Ribbit."
"We should definitely take a picture to commemorate this day. You'll thank me when we graduate." She replies. "What do you guys say?"
"Well, I suppose a photo would be fine. As long as you get my good side..." Todoroki murmurs uncertainly, shifting his head so that only his right side was visible.
"Got it!" The brunette readily agrees, "Okay, start posing." She directs the class, extending her arm so that every classmate was in view of her... flip phone.
"What is that..." You murmur. "An ancient relic?..."
Bakugo audibly gags from the back of the bus at the sight, and you can see the surprise coating the features of both Iida and Yaoyaorozu from where you sit.
Seeing her classmates reactions and very obviously having endured this situation before, Uraraka simply rolls her eyes. "Oh come on, guys. No need to clutch your pearls. There is no way you guys were this sheltered growing up."
Ashido titters nervously and swoops in to take the reigns, "How about we use my cellphone instead?" She insists, already slipping her pink device into the rosy cheeked girl's palms, who only grumbles in compliance.
"But when these become a trend later, I'll have the last laugh. You'll see."
"Okay! Poses and count down can begin now!" Mina instructs, plopping back into her seat beside you and unexpectedly throwing her arm around the back of your neck.
"How insulting that you assume I am not always in a pose fit for a candid photo!" Aoyama exclaims, standing from his seat and placing one hand on his hip and the other interlaced in his lustrous mane.
"One!" Uraraka begins, smart phone in hand.
The sight of Aoyama standing causes a spike of urgency to force an audible gasp out of Iida and lift himself from where he sat. "No one should be standing! That is a safety hazard, please stay seated!" He demands, arms slicing through the stuffy bus air. Ashido doesn't hesitate to take the countdown as her cue to further your intimacy by gathering the fat of your cheeks into her palms and squishing your lips into a pout.
"Two!"
Iida's abrupt stance creates the awkward chain of events of Midoriya stumbling out of his seat and flailing his arms about, before accepting his fate and submitting to his fall backward, whilst Tokoyami hastily attempts to block Bakugo's rude hand gesture towards the camera.
"Three!"
Yaoyaorozu and Jirou had moved to create a conjoined heart, while a contradicting Sero forms a circle and allows Kaminari to stick his finger in the said circle. Leaving poor Kirishima to watch in pure red-head fashioned horror.
And just as Uraraka's finger presses the screen to capture what was supposed to be a wholesome moment to looked back on in the far future, Midoriya's falling body crashes into your own. Hard. Though, perhaps it is more fitting to say Midoriya's very very thick skull slammed into your face with as much velocity as what you guessed the bus you currently rode in was moving at.
'Click'
Squealing, Uraraka goes to admire the picture she has just taken... only for her face to lose its vivacity dramatically. "This is why we can't have nice things." The girl whispers to her frog friend beside her.
"Holy shit." You utter, clutching a palm to your face. The instant the boy's head collided with your face, a sharp pain shot through the length of your nose.
"Ow." He mutters and rubs the back of his head, not appearing to have been too affected by the collision. Though, upon twisting his neck and gazing at whatever, or whoever, had broken his fall, his face filled with the utmost amount of dread. "I am so sorry, Aeron!"
"Why is your damn head so hard?" You groan nasally, squeezing your eyes shut before you feel the warm trickle above your lip morph into a thick stream. Almost as if your lips were mountains, and your blood ardent rivers in search for oceans.
"I warned you guys about arising from your seats," Iida scolds like a disappointed parent, before the vibrant crimson comes into view and the boy begins to panic as well. "Aeron! Your nose! Don't worry, I always come prepared and carry tissues... though, they are in my bag and those bags seem to be at the back of the bus... Mr. Aizawa, permission to traverse the back of the bus for my tissues?"
"This is such a rare Deku W?" Bakugo murmurs to himself, staring at his palms conflicted on if he should praise these events or call his classmate out on his annoying clumsiness.
"Are you okay, Ronnie? That's a lot of blood you're losing..." Ashido points out.
"Again, I am very sorry, Aeron! It was truthfully an accident." Midoriya pleads in your direction, palms slapping together as he proclaims how he should have been more careful.
"Ugh," You groan in pain, "It's fine Midoriya, it's just a nose bleed." You grumble, and truthfully, your hands ached to deal him the same damage he had just done to you, though you gathered that you bore some portion of the fault as well. Afterall, you were getting a little too comfortable with your peers, which resulted in your guard slowly disappearing, hence why you weren't in the right mind to dodge the literal human body hurling your way.
"Yes, but I know how painful nose bleeds can be in the first couple of minutes that follow after the impact." He adds.
"I've been through worse."
"That doesn't mean this wouldn't hurt, I know how hard my head is from experience!"
"Again, it's just a nose bleed. I get these all the time, I can handle-"
Lifting himself from his own seat up front, the scruffy man sluggishly makes his way towards where you sit. "Alright, I'll handle this. Midoriya get back in your seat before you cause anymore accidents." Aizawa instructs, to which the boy apologizes once more and adheres to his teacher's words.
With your lashes fluttering and lids lifting at the feeling of a new presence before you, you are met with the pale man with dark features that you had stood face to face with not that long ago, only this time instead of a feline-like grin after he informed you of how he planned to have your first activity with your new class be to beat them unconscious in their finals, he wore a displeased frown. The creases in between his brows spoke the words he likely would never utter aloud, though not out of cruelness, but because that was simply the way he was.
You are a great judge of character, you know how to read people, the skill being one of the first taught to you as a child. So, it was a given that upon your first meeting with this man, the lack of presence from that inherent skill had frightened you. You could not read this man then.
But now?
You wished you couldn't understand what those creases wrote onto his skin. You wished that those skills would just cease to exist, in fact, perhaps they had. Perhaps that was why those creases told you that he was worried. Perhaps they were wrong.
It truly was a minor nose bleed, you could tell so by the lack of pulsing in your skull. You know he had to have known that, he is a trained Pro after all. So why are those creases, the downward curl of his lip, and his softening irises proclaiming empathy?
Did it hurt him to see you hurt? It'd be a cold day in hell before you would ever allow yourself to believe that.
"Don't tilt your head back, it'll only make it worse." He informs you, and it's only then that you notice the first aid kit in his hands. Taking out the gauze pads, his index and thumb gently grip the bridge of your nose, giving him a better view of your wound. "It doesn't look or feel broken, so it's likely just a simple nose bleed cause by the blunt impact of Midoriya's dense head."
The boy in topic rambles further profound series of apologies, but his words go through one ear and out the other as you stare dumbfounded at the man before you. For some reason, the delicate way your teacher handed your injury was causing something in your chest to ache and eyes to soften.
His touch is so gentle.
"Right." You say.
Dabbing your skin with the soft tissues, he cradles your face and tilts your head for inspection. Once he deems you cleanly enough, he hands you the rest of the gauze and lifts himself from the ground. And just as you think he was fed up with coddling you, you are graced with two soft pats on the top of your head.
"There, that should be enough for now. Let me know if it continues to bleed." He offers, and walks himself back to his seat the front of the bus.
"Thank you, Mr. Aizawa." You whisper, still only half present.
"Aeron?" Midoriya calls, effectively snapping you out of your daze.
"What?" You snap.
The boy lowers his head in guilt, "I really am sorry. I never meant to hurt you." He apologizes yet again, and his big doe eyes make it difficult to maintain eye contact.
"Whatever, Midoriya. I already told you it's fine." You turn your gaze away, "As long as Bakugo didn't pay you for that, all is forgiven."
"Definitely not! Kacchan wouldn't waste his money like that! He'd probably rather do it himself." He chuckles.
"Good, then you'll live to see another day."
A nervous huff and a wry smile is all he offers after, "Right, thanks."
Not really wanting to socialize any more than you already had, you turn back in your seat, pondering what the fuck just happened and why did all these feelings transpire within you at the mere touch of a concerned adult?
'The bar is in hell... and so is my dignity.'
Squinting at the bright rays cascading from the scintillating ball of gas in the sky that bombarded your surroundings, you hopped off the bus and onto firm dirt. And despite the heat that soaked into your skin, you embraced it with open arms.
The sun had always felt rejuvenating to your body and psyche; being part of your quirk, simply lying in the sunlight or under the moon was always a way to recharge your soul. You couldn't count the amount of nights that nightmares kept you away from slumber, and more likely than not, on those very nights, you would end up sitting on the terrace back in your pent house and speaking to the man in the moon as if it was an old friend.
Groaning and stretching your arms high above your head, you take in the surroundings of the rest stop Aizawa had decided to make use of. It looked as if you were on a cliff boarded by short logs of wood, greenery several feet below where you stood.
...Not a toilet, convince store, or even a place to sit in sight. Though, what did catch your eye was the black car parked randomly parked adjacent to the bus you had rode here.
"I'm so hungry." You mumbled as the rest of the class joins you outside of the bus.
"Finally, I needed to get off of that thing!" Kaminari complains as he begins to perform a set of squats. "My ass is killing me."
"Let me get through, I've gotta pee!" Mineta yells as he races around searching for any suitable place to relieve himself.
"How's your nose, Aeron?" Uraraka asks as she stands before you.
"Yeah, Midoriya looks hard headed." Jirou adds.
Clutching his hands together, the freckled boy wails, "Again I'm so sorry, I didn't catch myself fast enough! It was an accident I sw-"
"We get it, Midoriya. It's getting old." You wave the boy off. His persistence almost drawing a chuckle out of you.
"Also, you didn't catch yourself at all, Midoriya." Asui comments.
Inspecting his surroundings, Kirishima cautiously notes, "This isn't much of a rest area."
"Not really, and where's class B?" Jirou asks.
"You don't actually think we stopped here just so you could stretch your legs, right?" Aizawa asks rhetorically with his hands in his pockets.
'How is he not dying with that big ass scarf on?'
The sound of multiple car doors opening and a feminine voice causes all of your heads to snap the other way, "Heya, Eraser."
"Long time no see." The teacher greets, lowering his head briefly in respect. Two young women both donning cat ears, paws, and tails step out of the vehicle.
"You can call us, 'The Wild Wild Pussy Cats'!" They both announce enthusiastically.
You stifle a yawn as your teacher begins to explain their presence, "These are the Pro Heroes you'll be working with at the summer training camp."
'Never heard of them-'
"They're a four person hero team who specialize in mountain side rescues! The Pussy Cats were founded when we were kids, like forever ago!" Midoriya explains with an excited blush on his face.
'-never mind, thank you Midoriya.'
"This marks their twelfth year working as a-" The boy continues, before a heavy white paw envelopes his face, effectively halting his rant.
"I'm pretty darn sure your math must be off." The hero named Pixie Bob refutes, her face inching closer to the boy with a menacing expression. "I'm eighteen at heart <3"
"...Understood." Midoriya utters from beneath her paw.
"Everyone, say hello. Don't be rude." Aizawa commands.
"Hello, nice to meet you." The class murmurs in unison.
"We own this whole stretch of land out here, everything your eyes can see. The summer camp you guys are staying at is down there." Mandalay explains, pointing a manicured paw towards the green field you overlooked. "Just at the base of this mountain."
"That's far!"
"Then why did we stop all the way up here?" Uraraka naively asks, "It's not like you guys expect us to run all the way there, right?" She offers with a laugh.
"Oh, you sweet summer child. You've just jinxed us." You realize.
"What? No that can't be right." Sato denies your implications. "Please, tell me that's not right..."
Sero chuckles nervously, pivoting on his right foot. "Very funny guys. Now, let's get back on the bus. Now. Please."
"G-good idea, let's go load up." Kaminari agrees as he too turns to escape this nightmare.
With a conniving smirk stitching itself onto her face, Mandalay purrs, "It's currently nine thirty in the morning... so, if you're fast enough, you might make it there by noon."
"No way!" Kirishima shrieks in disbelief.
"Holy crap!" Mina exclaims in horror.
Kaminari spins on his heel and dashes towards the bus doors, nearly tripping over his own laces in the process, "Save yourselves!"
"Can't we at least have a pre-torture snack? How the hell are we supposed to get down there if we're running on zero fumes?" You ask.
"You don't need food as fuel because of your quirk. Use the sun, Aeron." Aizawa answers.
"Kitties who don't make it there before by twelve thirty won't get any lunch." Mandalay adds.
"You both are downright evil!" You wail.
Aizawa stands as stagnant as usual, not at all being affected by his student's cries of anguish. "You guys should have known this from the very beginning. The moment you stepped foot on that bus..."
Before any of your classmates could have even reached the doors, Pixie Bob puts her cat-like agility to good use and terminates their attempts by leaping before them and showcasing her claws.
"The training camp has already begun."
Placing both paws on the ground, her palms emit an azure blue glow that mirrors the shade of her eyes. Suddenly, the ground beneath you begins to crumble and you realize you are descending multiple feet in the air.
"What the hell?!" Uraraka shrieks.
"She's controlling the ground!" Midoriya realizes.
"Yeah, no shit Sherlock!" You grit his way.
As you plummet, you quickly realize that you would need to find an opening or conjure up a way to break your fall. Although your sight is heavily obstructed by the pounds of dirt, you manage to guess at which point you expect to reach the ground.
Shifting yourself so that the impact would hurt you less, you touch the floor with a simple roll and a grunt.
Sighing heavily in relief, you start, "Oh thank gosh, that would have really hurt-" Though you aren't allowed to finish your victory cry before a body crashes into yours. Effectively breaking its fall.
"Oh, that wasn't so bad." Midoriya comments, his eyes remaining squeezed shut from the freight. "The floor is actually find of soft-"
"Oh you are so doing this on purpose." You accuse from under him. "Do you hate me?"
The boy open his eyes in panic at the sound of your voice, registering just who had softened his fall... once again. "Oh, no no no! This can't be happening, I swear to All Might I would never-"
He doesn't finish his sentence due to his world getting flipped upside down. Literally. You grab onto the back of his shirt and thrust him before you, forcing him to lay on his back harshly as you stand over him.
"Ouch." He whines.
"Since this is private land, you can use your quirk as much as you want to!" Mandalay announces from the top of the cliff. "You've got three full hours! You should be able to make it to the facility in that time... that is, if you can make it through the Beast's forest."
Facing the forest in topic, you gaze into the dark abyss of nothing but dirt and a mass amount of thick and tall trees. "How big is the beast that it needs an entire forest?" You ask dubiously.
"That name sounds right out of a fantasy game. I'm assuming we don't get any power ups?" Kaminari suggests.
"We've got quirks, idiot." Jirou answers, "Still, why do we keep falling for Aizawa's stupid tricks?"
"I wonder how much I'd win if I sued..." Uraraka wonders, glaring at the forest as if it'd simply toss her the money in terror.
"Give me a call if you need a statement." You offer absentmindedly, inspecting the forest thoroughly.
"I guess there's no use in complaining, we might as well move our asses." Kirishima adds, dusting himself off and counting the bruises he'd already garnered.
A purple blur sprints past you and into the unexplored land. "I've gotta piss, I've gotta piss, I've gotta piss. I've held it and didn't spill a single leak!" Mineta yells and makes it well into the forest, before yielding at a deep rumbling growl.
A grey monster made entirely out of the dirt around it bears its teeth at your group and stands on all fours. There were no eyes visible, though it had rippling sculpted muscles and stood tall within the leaves.
"We're all gonna die!" Sero and Kaminari screech in unison, both of their jaws nearly touching the ground beneath them.
Mineta stood directly before the beast, and in noticing the small human, the beast lifts its right arm and goes to slash at his body.
"Please calm yourself, my giant friend!" Koda begins to yell as he runs towards them with tears threatening to drip down his cheeks. "You don't wanna hurt any of us!"
Though, before it could even ghost the boy's skin, you bolt forwards and slide onto the dirt, kicking him out of its reach. Forcing yourself to roll with him in order to avoid contact with the strike, you grasp his body and clutch him near you as you slam against the trunk of a tree.
Exhaling in relief, you begin to mutter. "Damn it Eraser, you're really going to put me to work."
'Koji Koda. His quirk is anivoice, and it allows the user to communicate with and command animals through speech. It would have worked, if only this thing was actually an animal. It is purely a lump of dirt being manipulated by... Pixie Bob. This has to be that cat's quirk.' You conclude.
Leering over you and bearing its tusks once again, the monster reels its arm back once again, attempting to immobilize you a second time.
"You've got to be kidding me." You groan.
Without hesitation, you materialize your energy and shape it into a long sturdy spear, using the shaft to slice through the arm raining down on you. When you realize you are being given a struggle, you decide to apply even more energy into your weapon, causing it to heat up slightly. Providing for a clean cut all the way through the shoulder.
"They're not as strong as they look," You conclude.
As the claw hits the ground, you suddenly sense the same aura you've sensed before. The one that never fails to give you goosebumps at its mere activation.
This was the aura of a charging force.
'Izuku Midoriya.'
He stands just aways away from where you sit on the ground, hot pink marks painting his skin and cool green miniature lightning surrounding his body.
Frost follows after, centering from the dial toned boy behind you, sprouting until it reaches the monster you had momentarily stalled and imprisoning its legs.
"Reciproburst!" The class president yells, storming towards the beast with his engines hot and ready to slice through the other arm. Which it does flawlessly.
"Die!" Bakugo exclaims, lunging himself at the being with sparks flittering around his palms. Creating a powerful explosion, the blond obliterates the left leg into pieces, threatening its balance and causing it to tip over.
A crystalline opening for the final blow is made.
"Smash!" That blow being taken by none other than the freckled boy itching to put his power to good use, striking the monster right in the chest, dispersing it into thin air.
"Wow!" Sato exclaims after a few seconds of collective silence, "You guys defeated that beast in an instant!" He praises.
"You did it!" Sero joins.
"Yeah, they did it... and I did it too..." Mineta mumbles, on the brink of losing consciousness due to the shock, though that doesn't halt his attempt at thrusting himself into your arms hoping to be coddled.
"You did Jack shit but piss your pants." You grit, dodging his embrace and allowing him to fall face first onto the ground. "That was close." You exhale, replaying the memory of his near death experience.
"It seems we make a great team, Aeron." Iida tells you with a soft smile, walking towards you and offering his hand.
"Maybe, but you guys did most of the work." You reply, accepting his offering and joining him in standing. "And I might've just gotten peed on in return."
"You were the first to act in a moment of crisis, and you saved a fellow classmate. Unfortunately, a slightly damp classmate at that." He grimaces at the thought, though his warm grin returns once again upon gazing at you. "Great first day as a member of class A, if you ask me. Well done."
Your heart just squeezed.
With eyes that have softened in their corners, you panic for a suitable response to answer him with. "Thanks, Iida."
Unfortunately, your brief moment of acceptance is cut short when your instincts alert you. Rumbling can be felt in the pattern of stomps and another roar bellows through the forest.
"They're coming."
Jirou immediately places her headphones onto the ground and listens for the origins of the sounds. "There and there." She mutters, pointing a single finger at the sky and another to her left.
"Up above?!" Kaminari cries, "Where'd you get that from?!"
The sound of wings flapping only confirm her suspicions, rendering the blond silent in fear.
"Hey come on, how many are there?" Sero asks, looking every which way in paranoia.
"What should we do? Run away?!" Ashido asks.
"As if." Bakugo answers.
"Guys, if we don't make it to the facility by noon, we won't get lunch." Sato reminds you all.
"Then that settles it." You state, preparing for the incoming ambush.
"We have no choice but to get through here and take the shortest route." Yaoyorozu declares.
"Ribbit."
"All right, move out class A!" Iida announces, readying his stance.
Utilizing his quirk, Shoji joins Jirou on gathering as much information as he can on the monsters whereabouts. "Three up ahead and two each on either side!"
"Eight total. They're coming!"
As your class begins to apprehend and disembody the creatures, you pause to analyze the situation further. Something was not making sense.
'One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven.' You count internally and discern the beasts movements. 'The rest of the class is taking care of seven, but where the hell is the eighth?' You ask yourself, recalculating to confirm that you truly were missing a monster.
'I doubt those two would miscalculate, this is their field of expertise. So if those dirt monsters are all around us on the ground, and some are able to occupy the sky, then that means...' Your gaze darts to the ground, scanning for any abnormal behavior.
'Crack'
"There!" You exclaim, scrutinizing the breach of solidified dirt.
Focusing your physical energy into your fist, you throw yourself onto the ground and slam it down. Again. And again. And again. Fist pulsing with pain, blood, and power before a portion of the ground you stand on caves in, allowing you to catch a glimpse of the monster attempting to launch a sneak attack on your class.
"Come out into the light, snake. It's over." You taunt. In response, the ground crumbles as the monster unveils itself, roaring with displeasure. It stood well into the air and bounded towards you.
Escaping in the opposite direction, you place your feet onto a tree trunk and leap before you take hold of a thick branch. Making use of your upper body strength to climb atop and calculate your next move.
'The neck.' You decide.
This particular monster had three rib cage like tusks that guarded the nape of its neck.
"Bingo."
Channeling your inner Levi Ackerman, you lift yourself on the branch and sprint towards the monster before leaping onto its body, landing on it's back. Climbing upwards as you dodge its spiky tail that swung your way, you conjure up another long spear, jabbing it into its neck and taking ahold of the other end before you launch yourself onto the ground and drag the blade down its solid neck as you plummet.
Landing on the ground once again, the monster's head lolls to the side. "Implosive Daggers." You murmur, and squeeze your right eye shut. With the utmost precision, you shoot blades of energy towards the other side of the creatures neck before its head detaches and crashes on the ground. "Bullseye." You praise yourself, pursed smile forming on your lips at your victory.
"This is fun." You decide.
Training camp - Day 1; 5:20 PM
"This is so not fun."
Lugging yourself forward, you donned multiple scrapes and scratches as you struggled to keep your eyes open. You nose was even dripping crimson due to the exertion your training had implemented.
With the sun descending in the sky and the trees obstructing it's rays, you had no way to replenish your quirk. The only option was to use that of the students around you but unfortunately for you, they needed theirs just as greatly as you did. That much was noticeable, as they were in no better shape than you.
"Ha! The litter is here!"
"That took longer than expected."
Stepping into the light, you notice all three heroes waiting patiently in front of the building you slowly inch closer towards. Uraraka dangles off of your left side as she clutchs her mouth and stomach in nausea.
"You said it would only be like, three hours!" Sero exclaims as Sato and Kirishima drop to the ground behind him.
"Oh no..." The pink cheeked girl in your arms murmurs before she too drops to the floor, only this time, to relieve herself of her breakfast. Alarmed, you quickly tuck her hair behind her ears and awkwardly pat her back.
"I guess we timed it based on how long it'd take us, sorry!" Mandalay explains.
"You are so not sorry." Ashido grumbles.
"And now you're bragging about how much better you are? That's so mean!" Sato whines.
"I'm starving. This is hell!" Kirishima complains as he no longer fights to open his eyelids. Uraraka, stomach now newly emptied, juts a thumb up in agreement.
"We missed lunch, I don't know if my life insurance covers starvation." You ponder aloud, standing up from where you crouched.
"I don't even have insurance." Ojiro mumbles.
"Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow!" Pixie Bob exclaims with a pair of manicured paws covering her face.
'She reminds me of Kitty when Keigo forgets to feed her.' You think.
"I thought it would take you kids even longer! But, you did much better against my dirt monsters than I thought you would." She praises before she lowers her voice. "You guys were seriously great." Wiggling her claws before her, she exclaims "Especially... the five of you! It seems like you've had quite the bit of experience." She pauses for dramatic effect before launching herself forwards. "I call dibs on these kittens! They're puuurrfect!"
You weren't really paying attention to the hero, though she gives you no choice but to pay her heed as she appears before you and four other students.
Bakugo groans in annoyance, "The hell, lady?!" He grunts and shields himself with his arms.
"I just wanna nap!" You whine childishly as you cover your face with your palms.
"Endure! Do not let yourself be taken by this COUGAR!" Iida motivated, his stance mimicking that of the blond beside him.
"I am very uncomfy right now!" Midoriya states, eyes squeezed shut and body folding inwards.
"When are you feeding us?" Todoroki asks through his palms as he too hides behind his fingers.
"...Mandalay, has she always been like this? Please get her away from my children." Aizawa asks the woman beside him.
"It's gotten worse lately, she's at the age to take a mate." The Pro Hero answers apologetically.
"Is that supposed to make me feel better?"
"Uhm! Speaking of people's ages-" The freckled boy beside you starts, before getting a paw to the face.
"Choose your next words carefully boy..."
"I've just been wondering since we got here earlier. Whose child is that?" Midoriya mumbles from under the triggered woman's claws, pointing in the direction of a small dispirited boy in a red hat.
The question startled Mandalay as if she had forgotten the child was even behind her, "Oh! This little guy is my cousin's son, he lives with us now." She gestures to the immobile boy, "Don't be shy, Kota. Say hi to everyone. You're gonna be around them for the next week." She gently encourages.
Midoriya, gaining confidence, strides up to the young boy and smiles gently. "Hey there, my name is Midoriya. I'm from the UA High School hero course." He bends forward and offers a hand to shake. "It's nice to meet you!"
The boy stares at his outstretched hand, before quietly reeling his right arm back and thrusting his clenched fist into Midoriya's crotch. The action causes the boy's knees to buckle and a wail of pain to slip from his lips.
Iida, utterly appalled at the assault, moves to catch Midoriya before he can fully tip forward. "What a low blow! You fiend of a child! A punch to the scrotum is unforgivable!"
Kota halts his leave and slowly pivots his neck to glare directly into the class representatives eyes. "The last thing I wanna do is hang with some wannabe heroes!"
"Wannabe?! Do you know who I am? How old are you kid?!"
The interaction causes you to snort involuntarily before covering your mouth with your palms.
"Did you teach him that?" Todoroki asks, obviously referring to the same move you pulled on the same green haired boy during the practical exams.
"Puh-lease, that strike was juvenile. I have technique." You reply, to which the boy cracks a smile.
"You've gotta admit, that brat's got spunk." Bakugo comments, promptly ignoring your previous topic.
"He's like a mini version of you." Todoroki states.
You hum in consideration, "But cuter."
Unsurprisingly, your comments enrage the blonde. "What are you talking about?! You need to shut your mouths before I blast you both all the way to hell!" He threatens inching closer to your faces.
"Yeah, sure." Todoroki deadpans.
"...Definitely cuter." You grimace.
"Enough playing around." Your teacher directs. "Get your stuff off of the bus. Once your bags are in your rooms, we'll have dinner in the cafeteria. After that you can bathe and sleep. Tomorrow your training starts in earnest, you better get a move on." He ends, pointing a thumb in the direction of the building.
"Thank you for the food!"
Your eyes glimmered like stardust at the amount of dishes before you. Never in your life had you been allowed to feast in such a way, and from what you could gather, you were to plate the delicious meal yourself!
Slowly, almost hesitantly, you place your chopsticks into your hand, picking up a slice of the pork cutlet sitting in front of you and placing it onto your tongue.
Immediately, the combined flavors erupt in your mouth with each chew, and a squeal escapes you. In a matter of seconds, your mouth was filled to the brim with everything edible within your sight.
"Aeron, you're drooling." Jirou informs you.
"I really don't give a shit, right now." Comes your half-audible reply. "I'm gonna sleep so good after this." The food is so good, you're almost brought to tears.
"Speaking of, Sero said the guys room is huge!" Mina exclaims.
"Can't be that much bigger than ours right?" You ask, feeling the warmth of your miso soup trickle down your throat.
"I wonder if I can sue for sexism..." Uraraka mutters.
"...let's not."
Mandalay enters the cafeteria, hands donned in a pair of baby pink oven mittens with minuscule kitten paws littered on them. A brown cardboard box laid upon her palms. "Alright, we've got dessert. I know it's early in the meal, but considering how spent you guys are on your very first day, we've decided to cut you guys some slack." She announces.
She then places the container onto the table, coincidentally directly in front of you.
Her first mistake.
"Aeron, you're drooling again." Apparently, it was not just your imagination, as Jirou once again informs you.
As she lifts the top off of the box, it's as if the gates of heaven themselves have opened just for you with how intense the dessert shines in your eyes. A ten inch vanilla cake frosted with fluffy white whipped cream. Vibrant rosy strawberries embezzled the rim and you swore you could feel your saliva pooling at your ankles as you ogled the sweet dish before you.
"That's...cake." You whispered.
"Uhm, yeah?" Ashido giggles at your reaction. "You're acting like you've never eaten cake before."
"And strawberries?" You ask, head tilting slightly as you inspect every detail your eye can catch. Grabbing the silver knife that was placed on the plate, your arm slowly inches towards your desired baked good. "I need it. Now."
"Ronnie, you're scaring me." Ashido trembles next to you, peering warily at your predatory gaze.
Carefully crafting yourself a slice, you place a piece onto your plate.
The supple skin of the ruby colored berries whispered your name in a siren like melody. Calling upon you to taste whatever it had to offer. Giving into temptation, the pads of your fingers lift the fruit towards your mouth and with your eyes shut, your teeth pierce it's delicacy.
Saccharine but tangy juices envelope your taste glands, creating a harmony you've never felt before.
"Oh wow, she has literal hearts in her eyes."
Squealing once again in bliss, you vigorously shovel the rest of the dessert into your mouth. You're about to pull your cellphone out to inform the person dearest to you about the stash of gold you have just stumbled upon, before you feel your energy deplete rapidly. "...Uh oh." You whimper and face plant directly onto the dish before you.
Splat!
"..."
"..."
"..."
Every student in the vicinity ceases their movements and noises in favor of directing their attention to your form. Nobody dares to be the first to act... well, no one except a green haired boy fearing the worst.
"Oh my gosh?! SHE'S DEAD!"
Unsurprisingly, his exclamation creates a ripple effect of chaos and panic within his peers.
Making his entrance, your teacher makes his way towards your seat, arms out in an effort to quell the madness. "Calm yourselves." He says in his usual monotone voice.
Upon reaching your table, he gently places his palms on either side of your head and lifts it, revealing your soft face coated in fluffy cream. "Pass me a napkin, please." He asks the pink girl beside him, to which she hastily complies. His fingers tenderly cleanse your silk like skin which he begins to inspect. "She's just sleeping." He reassures.
Sighs of relief float throughout the room at his confirmation. The girl beside you takes the chance to gaze at your sleeping form, only to gasp in astonishment.
"Her sun mark... it's a moon now." She mentions.
"And it's glowing, like when she activates her quirk." Uraraka adds.
Aizawa himself examines the dainty crescent shape painted between your brows. "The sun has gone down, so she can't count on it recharging her, should she have the need. Fortunately, the moon is a great substitute. It also glows when she sleeps, since that is another method in which she can regain her energy." He explains.
"Come to think of it, I do recall it doing the same when she slept after our practical exam." Yaoyorozu adds.
"So that's why she kept saying that she needed a nap!" Kaminari realizes.
"Her quirk most likely forced her body to shut down for the time being since she still hasn't had the time to regain any energy. I'm guessing she didn't steal any of your stamina in the forest?" He asks and looks to the group around him for confirmation. "I thought so. It's fine, she just needs rest. Did she eat enough?" He asks the girls around you, to which they nod. "Good. Allow her to rest for the remainder of dinner. Afterwards, wake her so that she can bathe." The teacher instructs as he lightly places both of your cheeks down onto the table, your soft breathing beginning to fill the air. "Where is her uniform blazer?"
"Oh! We took them off when we unpacked earlier. They're back in our rooms." Uraraka explains.
"Great," He replies sarcastically, "Does anyone have their blazer that is currently not in use?"
Not giving anyone else a chance, someone immediately answers. "She can have mine, sir!" Midoriya offers at the other end of the table. "It's the least I could do, considering the amount of blood she lost because of me. And I fell on her. And I immediately assumed she was dead. And-"
"Okay, thank you, Midoriya." Aizawa cuts the boy off before he could begin another rant. Taking the offering, your teacher drapes the coat over your back, effectively keeping you snug for your nap. "Alright, continue, and don't bother her. If I see any of you pulling out another washable marker, you can kiss the hot springs goodbye, rugrats."
Only once she assures that he is out of sight, Ashido slips her phone out of her skirt pocket. "He didn't say anything about taking selfies with her." She explains with a mischievous giggle.
"Oh! Try the cat filter!" Uraraka exclaims.
"Take some on mine too, yeah?" Jirou asks as she passes her own electronic to her friend. Many other students following her lead.
You are so fucked when it comes to blackmail material.
Steam billows in pools around your naked forms, muscles relaxing and minds quieting down.
It has been a while since you felt so serene, allowing your brain to cleanse itself of any restlessness thoughts. With your hair neatly tied away from your face, you were free of any obstruction that prevented you from voicing thoughts you normally wouldn't voice aloud.
That explains the questionable topic of conversation.
"I usually apply my socks and then one shoe at a time while tying them as I slip them on." Yaoyorozu explains.
"What?" You mutter, your eyes remaining shut in relaxation. "That sounds complicated. I feel like putting on both socks first, and then both shoes, and then tying them afterwards is easier."
"But, that just sounds wrong." Tsuyu adds. "Why stop your application during each step? I'd usually go for putting on my sock, shoe, and then tying my laces before I start on the next foot."
"You see, this is why I prefer to wear sandals." Uraraka sighs.
"Objection, sandals are so not in season!" Hagakure counters.
"Uhm, objection, it's summer. That's prime sandal season." The brunette replies.
"Okay, but I'm talking about the sandals you wear. The really strappy ones." Hagakure describes, "They make my feet sweat just looking at them." She grimaces.
"When else would I wear them?"
"Those are for when you want to show off your pedicure indoors! You know, in the A/C."
"I think I make them work." Uraraka tilts her nose up in poise.
"You do!" Hagakure agrees, "But we can hear you from a mile away with the rubber sliding against your sweaty feet!" She finishes, causing your group to laugh at the thought.
"Let's talk about something other than feet." Yaoyorozu suggests, "How about we play a game?"
"Ooh!" Ashido chimes in excitement, "How about Kiss, Mary, Kill."
"How do you play?" You ask.
"You've never played before?" Jirou tilts her head in question, to which you shake yours in response.
"Basically, we give you three names of three random people. You choose which you would rather kiss, marry, or kill. Of course, not literally. Just for shits and giggles."
This game sounds unlike any you have ever heard before, which is honestly surprising, considering it seems like a game Keigo would have surely mentioned if he had even heard about it in passing.
"Ah! I'll go first." Hagakure volunteers, "Mineta, Sero, and... hm. Midoriya?"
"I thought we were gonna go with anime characters..." Jirou mumbles dejectedly.
"Those are my only choices?" You ask.
"Yup!" Ashido answers.
"I chose the last one specifically for you, Aeron!"
You sputter, "What? Midoriya? Why?"
You hear the invisible girl giggle, "Because after how much he roughed you up today, I'm dying to know your opinion on your new classmate."
"Okay..." You drawl dubiously, "Well, I'd probably kill Mineta... not literally, of course. Because killing is like, illegal. And I would never do that." You make sure to establish that lie. "And then I'd probably marry Sero."
"What?!" The girls shriek in unison.
"Why did you 'what?!' that? This isn't literal." You repeat their earlier explanations.
"We just want to know why. Sorry, any answer from you would have garnered the same reaction." Yaoyorozu explains.
You hum in contemplation. "Well, I've noticed that Sero goes out of his way to halt as many of Mineta's perverted attempts to make us uncomfortable. I find that admirable."
"Oh, that makes sense." Ashido agrees.
"So, you'd kiss Deku?" Uraraka asks hesitantly.
You sigh in resignation, "Yeah, if the situation had, for some reason, called for that. I'd kill Mineta, marry Sero, and kiss Midoriya. Just cause the guy has bruised me up a bit doesn't mean I'd wish death upon him."
Ashido squeals, "Ronnie! You're so admirable!" She praises as she scoots closer to you and places her head on your shoulder.
Your face contorts in confusion, "I- don't understand..."
"Just go with it." Hagakure mutters in your direction.
A distinct wail suddenly resounds from the other side of the wooden wall, snatching all of your attention. Looking towards the wall, you notice that atop of the very high ledge, stood Kota, the moody kid who had assaulted Midoriya's crotch earlier today.
"Before you become a hero, you should learn how to act like a decent human being." He states.
"Who did he clock?" Ashido asks, noticing that he was speaking to someone on the other side of the hot spring.
The boy's side of the hot spring.
"Mineta really is the worst, isn't he?" Asui calls out to the small boy, clearly having been through similar situations in the past since she didn't seem so surprised.
"Thanks so much Kota, babe!"
The boy instinctively turns towards the voices offering him their thanks, though he realizes in hindsight that wasn't such a great idea, considering the shock he felt at the sight. With pink cheeks and wide eyes, the boy yelps and begins to fall back towards the other side of the wall - your heart dropping at the sight.
"Gotcha!" Midoriya's voice was heard through the wooden wall.
After a brief moment of silence, you hesitantly wade towards the end of the spring, fearing the answer to your question. "Uhm, is he okay?" You call out.
"Yeah! He's fine!" Midoriya answers, "Well, kind of. I caught him before he reached the ground, but he must have passed out from the shock of... the fall. Yeah, he was shocked about the fall. I'll just take him to Mandalay, now."
"Good job, Deku!" Uraraka praises.
Yaoyorozu looks around warily, before she clutches her arms around her chest. "We should probably head on out now. We need all the rest we can get before we start early training tomorrow. Plus, I just feel uncomfortable now."
"Agreed. Given how relaxing this soak has been, I'm even more sleepy than earlier." You add.
At the rest of the girl's agreement, you all gathered your towels and belongings, heading to your designated cabin for rest.
"Before we go, here's the real Kiss, Marry, or Kill scenario." Ashido says ominously, "Satoru Gojo, Mikasa Ackerman, or Shoto Todoroki."
"Why is Todoroki amongst our choices? He's not an anime character." Jirou asks.
"Because he's Todoroki."
"...fair enough."
"I'd rather just kiss the hell out of Mikasa Ackerman." You answer, not wasting anymore time on the game and heading out.
"Heavy on that part, Aeron." Uraraka agrees and follows behind you.
Upon entering your shared cabin, you slip into your usual silk pajama set, feeling like the sleepwear was heaven sent on your freshly bathed skin. Lying your futons on the ground, all seven of you decided to lay in a rectangle, with your heads at the center. Surrendering to your body's needs, you plop onto your sheets and allow your eyelids to flutter shut. All the girls doing the same, wanting as much shut eye as Aizawa allows.
That night, a strange feeling clouds your amygdala. Still indescribable to yourself, you wonder what exactly that emotion is. It creates upheaval within a specific corner of your heart, as if someone had decided to light the candle implanted within you.
A glowing ember, which allows you better sight of something you had yet to reach. The warmth accompanying you along your journey to that destination. You knew you hadn't arrived, nor were you nearing. But you didn't mind, in fact you supposed you could enjoy the ride to whatever awaited you.
Slumber found you nearly effortlessly that night.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this batch! I hope you’re enjoying the story so far, see you in the next update!
Ps: this week’s episode was so good, everyone go say thank you to studio bones and horikoshi for gifting us with so much izuku midoriya.

You ever think about what was going through izuku's head whenever he saw katsuki warming upto the other students in 1-A (particularly Kirishima), respecting their abilities, and accepting them as friends (before his own relationship with katsuki started to develop)
I know obviously he would have been happy that katsuki is making true friends, but a part of him must have felt so insecure about himself and wondered why katsuki didn't want to accept him.
I also feel like the moment during the final exams when katsuki said he'd rather lose than work with deku must have hurt izuku atleast a little because he saw katsuki working with others during the cavalry battle or during the usj incident. He even acknowledges that kirishima has become katsuki's friend.
I’m sure he’s glad that Katsuki is making friends, but at the same time I think a part of him is kind of feeling left out about it, considering how he doesn’t acknowledge it until it’s absolutely dire while still making it clear that he noticed. I feel like it could a similar case as Ochako’s, feeling silently jealous and hating the feeling because he wants to be happy for him. I feel like that’s somewhat confirmed by this interview that he did in 2019 when Heroes Rising was about to come out.
(This translation is different than the one I linked, but are essentially saying the same thing)
And considering the way he was drawn in the panel where he made this choice, I’d say yeah, he definitely feels some sort of insecurity.
He takes both Katsuki and Uraraka’s words as “he doesn’t want to be rescued by *me* specifically” which is sad because I feel like it’s clear that that isn’t what Katsuki intended when he said what he said. Like, yes he probably wouldn’t have liked to have been Izuku to reach out to him again, but I doubt he’d let his petty grudge let him stay in All Mights way in a situation like that. I think he wanted him to not follow him because Deku was already in a fucked up state and would’ve been made a liability fairly quickly, especially considering how Deku had already been targeted by the league of villains specifically before this. Katsuki is brash, but he’s not dumb.
In the case of their final exam, I actually don’t think Izuku was hurt because Katsuki would rather work with other people, I think he was more hurt that Katsuki was willing to lose at all, under any circumstance, because that’s just not the Katsuki he knows.
(Some of these panels are edited together, so if they don’t feel like they’re in order, that’s why)
Deku has always had this unfaltering faith in Katsuki. Faith that ran so deep, that Katsuki saying something otherwise, legitimately pissed him off enough to punch him in the face and lecture him. He doesn’t want to hear it because he doesn’t want to believe it. It has nothing to do with how Katsuki feels about him but more how Katsuki maintains his own values, so that he can continue to look up to him without regret. You know why?
All Might is the worlds Symbol of Peace, but…
Katsuki is Izuku’s Symbol of Victory.
And I think Katsuki started to treat his urge to win differently, especially after his and Izuku’s final exam. It seemed like he was more willing to act like Izuku when he needed to, just like Izuku acted like him when he knew it’d benefit him. Willing to work as a team with people and sacrifice himself a little more. Because he literally can’t let Izuku one up him in anything. Hence why he died for no other reason than to prove a point. That he’s willing to do anything to win even if that means breaking himself.
(There’s like three panels I want to put here but I can’t cuz I’m running out of space and want to keep space for the last point I wanna make.
Basically, just reread the end of DvK2, Class A v Class b joint training arc, and the PLW arc. If you care that much lmao.)
It almost seemed like that even though he wanted to keep winning to Deku, he didn’t really want Deku to lose him at the same time. Which is why we never saw them fight again. Neither of them wanted to win or lose, which was why their training was always basically just Deku letting Katsuki get the best of him, because let’s be real… Izuku could’ve beaten Katsuki physically, easily. But he can’t stand seeing Katsuki lose, so he never let him. And I’m pretty sure Katsuki was aware of that, considering how his internal monologue in the PLW arc was saying.
Anyways…
Katsuki has to win, but also, Deku can’t lose. That’s basically the conclusion they came to terms with silently.
Literally the definition of “Person A fell first, but Person B fell harder,” but y’know… they’re just being silly. What they want for themselves are contradictory from what they want for each other, and it makes it so that they simultaneously want both of them to be the best version of themselves.
It also kind of mind fucks you when you think about how Katsuki strived to be the hero that Deku already saw him as, while Deku did the same thing, but both were kind of in the opposite direction/a direction neither of them really wanted the other to take… Katsuki believed that Deku’s urge to save was his biggest strength while simultaneously being the reason for his lack in success because he stopped taking himself into account if it meant saving someone, which is true, while Deku believed Katsuki’s biggest strength was his urge to win while also simultaneously believing that it was the reason for Katsuki’s downfall in some cases because it inflated his ego too much and he’d be willing to do anything to win just to protect that ego… which is also true… ugh they hurt my brain
This post ended up being a lot longer than I intended, oops

hello!!! I saw you reblogged my sentence starter thingy and that you write for mha?? was wondering if you’d be interested in the prompt “As soon as I get out of this I hope you know I’m going to murder you.” (72) with lee!bakugo and a class 1a ler of your choosing? hope you have a wonderful day! with love, @thebest-medicine
This prompt has Bakugo written all over it. This is going to be so fun to write!
Also, I’ve followed you for like, ever, so I’m nerding out a little, not gonna lie, lmao
Thank you for the request @thebest-medicine !!
From the prompt list, #72; “As soon as I get out of this, I hope you know I’m going to murder you.”
⚠️ WARNING!!!⚠️ as usual this is a tickle fic. Don’t like don’t read. Thank you 💙
Denki, Kirishima, and Midoria stared in amusement as Bakugo struggled.
The training exercise had been called to break, the trio told to get their fourth teammate free before joining the others.
The task had been simple, teams of four had to capture the other teams flags, which were strapped to each team captains belt. They had been playing defensively, forming a circle around Bakugo (who insisted he had to be captain, since his quirk made it hard to get too close). Before each match, you went up against a different team, not knowing who you would be up against.
They had no idea Sero had snuck up on the rooftop above them, shooting tape down like a web to scoop up the explosive blonde.
So, there he hung, thrashing and getting himself more tangled. He was tilted at a 50 degree angle, the toes of his boots just barely touching the ground, with his front facing downwards and hands tied behind his back.
“Get me out of this!” He roared, pulling hard at the tape. The group snickered, his thrashing less threatening as his hands were pressed against his elbows, meaning he couldn’t set off explosions without hurting himself.
“As soon as I get out of this, I hope you know I’m going to murder you.” He growled, twisting and turning. He attempted to scrunch his chin down to bite at the strap of tape wrapped across his chest.
Midoria smiled, approaching with caution. “Okay, we’ll get you down. I promise it will be okay.” The green haired boy didn’t miss the red gracing his friends features, he was clearly embarrassed about being captured so quickly.
Bakugo sneered, forcing himself to stay still. “You think I’m worried, Deku? Do you think I’m seriously so weak I’d be upset by this?” Midoria paused, making an exasperated face. “Well, I mean, you’re not exactly being calm about this either…”
Bakugo roared again, prying his hands from his arms just barely enough to fire off a few sparks. “SHUT THE HELL UP! YOU BASTARD!”
Midoria jumped back, hands up in defense.
“Will you just let us get you down?” Kirishima chimed in. He waited for the sparks to die down before approaching and placing a friendly hand between Bakugos shoulder blades. “The longer you fight, the longer you’ll hang here.”
Bakugo paused, then hung his head, muttering, but not fighting as Kirishima began picking at the tape with his other hand. He nodded the other two over, both quickly starting to do the same.
The silence of concentration fell over the group as they worked, feeling for tape edges, carefully picking up the ends with their nails and gently peeling it away piece by piece. Bakugo still twitched occasionally, tensing and huffing.
Denki was at Bakugos left, working at layered straps along his side. He felt for the edge, finding it resting on top of his lower ribs between his back and his side. Just like before he began to scratch, trying to lift the edge.
Bakugo lurched away.
Denki stepped back, worried he scratched a bruise. Bakugo began to shout.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing, idiot?? How dare you betray me while I’m trapped!!!” The three stared, confused.
“Im sorry man! Did I hurt you?” Denki asked sincerely. Bakugo, surprisingly, blushed deep red.
“You know damn well what you did! Just get me out!”
Kirishima and Midoria looked at the electric hero, watching as he started to grin.
“Ooooh, right. Sorry.” He said, still smiling. He went back to Bakugos side, acting like he was going to work more carefully.
Instead, he found a gap in the tape.
He scribbled his nails right into his exposed side.
Bakugo thrashed again, but Denki didn’t back off. The explosive blonde gasped, but otherwise remained silent. Denki snickered.
“Ah, sorry bro. Does this tickle?”
Kirishima grinned and Midorias jaw dropped.
“I totally forgot! No wonder he’s so squirmy!” The redhead laughed, approaching as well. He did start picking at the tape again, but made no attempt at being careful. Bakugos thrashing increased, strained sounds finding their way out of his clenched teeth.
“Wait, how did you…? I mean, he told you?” Midoria asked, still staring. Kirishima chuckled.
“No, he didn’t. But when you spar with someone enough you get to know their weaknesses.”
A laugh slipped out, but the rest were quickly contained. Deku stepped up, smiling softly at his friends.
“What are you looking at?!” Bakugo managed to get out, a few giggles slipping out with it.
Deku grinned.
“I would watch how you talk to me while you’re like this. We grew up together, remember?”
Bakugo paled visibly.
“Wait, that’s right!” Denki said, looking expectedly at Midoria. “You must know all the tricks!! Tell us! How do we get him really laughing?” Kirishima nodded in agreement, grinning.
“Well, once he breaks, he can’t recover. Even if you give him a break he can’t stop.” Midoria reached out, gently fluttering his fingers around Bakugos neck and ears. Bakugo snorted, shaking his head. He had a smile crawling its way across his face, nose scrunching.
“How do we get him to break?” Kirishima asked, reaching to ruffle Bakugos hair affectionately.
“You can either keep it up, play the long game, and he’ll break, or you can go for a bad spot.” Keeping one hand at Bakugos neck, Deku guided one of Kirishimas hands by the wrist down to his hip. A mischievous glint flickered in the redheads eyes.
“If you’re going to murder us when you get out of this, just make my death quick, yeah?” Kirishima said, squeezing the tissue, testing.
Bakugo squealed loudly.
Different from his usual laugh, he sounded genuinely happy. Out of control, yes, but happy. He laughed from deep in his chest, tossing his head side to side and grinning widely.
Denki reached across to have one hand on each side, scribbling with vigor, while Kirishima knelt to squeeze his hips and thighs. Midoria kept his place around his neck, shoulders, and shoulder blades.
Bakugo kept his eyes squeezed shut, feeling some relief as he let himself laugh. He tried to kick, tried to fight, but he couldn’t get away. His protests came out as incoherent babbling, laced with too many giggles to really be understood.
He could feel his heart racing, his shoulders shaking, but oddly he could feel his muscles relaxing as well. He was embarrassed, sure, but he didn’t feel unsafe. And it was nice to laugh so freely.
Not that he would tell them that.
Fuck that.
Kirishima and Denki, despite tickling intently, still picked and pulled at the tape. As Bakugo thrashed, he could feel the restraints loosening. Peeking, he could see the pile of tape getting larger on the ground around him.
Bakugo forced himself to relax, stopping his squirming and going limp. The trio stopped for a moment, worried.
“Just get me out.” He panted, still giggling. “I’ll stay still, keep going.” The three looked at each other, Deku grinning.
“Tickling also makes him very compliant. If any villains find out about this, it may be his downfall.”
The three snickered, Bakugo keeping his promise and hanging limp.
Starting again, he laughed freely and fought the urge to struggle. The faster he got out the faster this was over.
So he hung.
He giggled.
He snickered.
He cackled.
He squealed.
Then he yelped as the last piece pulled free and he dropped into Kirishimas waiting arms.
Kirishima let him lay there for a moment, holding the giggly heap of a hero. His hair was more of a mess than usual, red eyes glistening with mirthful tears, face flushed. The three smiled.
Then the blonde promptly exploded.
The three bolted, scattering in different directions as Bakugo scrambled to chase them.
“I TOLD YOU I’D MURDER YOU ASSHOLES!! COME BACK HERE AND DIE!”

I'd like to hear your complaints about mha please. I think rei should've rolled her ex husband off a cliff.
SIGH. Here is my official diatribe against MHA’s ending. This is definitely not my first rodeo with a series I love and had hope for having a bad ending but wow this one stings harder than usual
What’s craziest about all this is how much I defended this manga up until the last ten chapters. I loved this manga so much and had such high hopes for it. My own MHA social circle was nothing but huge fans that also had high hopes, some criticisms about things but willing to give the benefit of the doubt… But then 420 happened and I snapped out of it (and then my mutuals also snapped out of it, one by one, lol). It was so rushed and baffling that it actually ruined my day when it released, lmao. Deku regaining his arms via Eri ripping off her horn via child mutilation was only the beginning and I was not prepared for the everything else that would happen
The biggest issue starts and ends with Deku, who apparently got a secret lobotomy during the dark Deku arc and has not been written the same since. He completely loses his ability to be introspective in any capacity. “I’ve been having these thoughts about Tenko too” where?? Where is it??? Where is literally any of your real thoughts on Tenko or losing OFA or anything??? This manga used to have such an interesting insight into Deku’s mind. And it’s just, gone. A big issue with Shigaraki’s death goes back to that. Where’s the reflection?? “Show don’t tell” doesn’t work that well with a protagonist that barely shows any emotion at all!!
When it comes to the saving Shigaraki plot, I saw some mutuals suggest that Horikoshi changed his mind on the ending at some point between the togachako fight and 423. I reread those chapters and disagreed. Deku being unable to save Shigaraki is a plot twist and it’s a BAD one. All of the build up leading to 423 is that Deku would save Shigaraki, not just his soul, full stop. Unless it really was a last minute change or pushed by editors/SJ, I cannot imagine that this ending was not planned the way it was, so I will criticize Horikoshi as such. The twist was ass. And now we’re left with an ending of “well we can try to prevent villains, but if they’re already villains, beat ‘em up!” which is just.. AUGH!!! Completely throws Twice’s death down the drain!!! I can’t believe we were left with “we’ll do better next time” when the whole point was that the next generation would do better than the previous… Deku’s generation was supposed to be that one!! Not to mention that All Might seemingly forgot about his personal connection to Shigaraki…
It’s also wild that the togachako plot was the best written tragedy while also being the most offensive of all of them. I don’t care how many people Toga killed 😭 she was explicitly queer. At least izuocha didn’t happen, that would’ve made things so bad I don’t think I would’ve been able to interact with the series anymore. It was a one-off line but Toga’s death had the most direct impact on improving society, however, it was a ONE-OFF LINE, there is zero indication that Uravity is as prominent of a hero as this line makes you believe, which sucks. Also, the fact that the cameras got retconned is ridiculous, just another knife twist of completely gutting the theme of rehabilitation and societal changes on how people view villains
And… that’s not even mentioning what the fuck happened with 3baka. I understand the rush. Horikoshi has health issues, there are time limits for endings. I would’ve been okay with just the rush. But the writing decisions that were made… why the fuck did Kurogiri die like that?? In the most baffling, inconsequential way possible? Aizawa wasn’t shown, Mic didn’t react, it’s never brought up again except for a tiny, tiny panel of Shirakumo’s grave. I guess the whole plot with nomu and how they’ve slowly been humanized was just completely scrapped, because Kurogiri’s death was more inconsequential than Hood’s. If you’re going to kill Kurogiri, make him die by AFO’s hands. It would’ve worked a lot better as a tragedy rather than random and unnecessary Bakugo moment
This is honest to god one of the worst pages in the entire series:
Finally okay I honestly don’t care for the Todorokis so I don’t really have any strong thoughts on their ending. The ending Dabi got is actually better than I expected after Shigaraki died lol. Though I do agree that Rei pushing around Endeavor in his wheelchair is a hilariously bad look and I don’t know why Horikoshi thought it was a good idea
Here is one thing I will say, though. One final word:
Foster brothers Shigaraki and Kurogiri never got debunked!! Can’t have your theories be wrong if you get no information about a character!
#for blacklisting ->#bnha critical#mha critical#I don’t want to tag main tags 😭 there is still a part of me that loves this series#I’m just so blindsided by how it ended

(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
gege never said the original draft was boring, he only said he needed to revise it to fit the shonen genre more. where tf are all these people getting that lie from??? if he thought jujutsu sousen draft was boring, it's story line would not be implemented into the culling game arc that we have today.
it was unpolished. not boring.
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
also, the reason for the mc switch is because yuuji's character fits the shonen genre more.
naive and just happy all around ((naruto??? gon??? luffy????? deku??? that kid in black clover?? i forgot his name)). im not saying that serious characters like megumi as mc was never done in shonen before - but since jjk was gege's first series, he had to conform to shonen norms a little for his story to be approved.
yuuji's character fits what shueisha thinks a shonen protagonist should be (his whole thing of saving every single person around and all that) while megumi's kinda fit seinen more (picking and choosing who to save depending on whether or not he deems them as a good person). gege wanted megumi to stay the way he originally perceived him, so instead of changing megumi's personality - he just gave shueisha the mc they wanted with yuuji. and kept megumi the way he is but as a supporting character that still have the same strong ties to the plot like how he originally wanted.
this isnt a megumi vs yuuji as mc kinda thing btw - because if gege had it his way he would have made this two a duo mc but shueisha wanted to keep to their formula.
i'll put the translation screenshots on here from twt account @///soukatsu_ - you be the judge.
tell me where he said boring there
((im just mad atm dont mind me. i'll probably go draw a chibigumi to calm myself <( •̀ᴖ•́)>))
im not, in anyway, against yuuji being the mc btw - i like how megumi was written in the story that we have now, granted i would love to see more of him, but his role in the story is just the way i like it! i'm just the type of fan who gets more invested in what the supporting characters are doing rather than the mc in any manga that i have ever read. e.g kagura (gintama), L (deathnote), sanemi? (kny), todoroki (mha), grey (fairytail), aki (csm), MEGUMI (jjk) etc etc.
so i like megumi as the supporting role.
and people seem to be forgetting that jjk almost got axed on its first ten chapters ((literally the same thing that almost happened to gintama back then)). so thats really just how publishing a series works. the mangaka (esp a first time serialized one) have to change the story flow here and there in order to conform to what the publisher want - not because they think the story they're trying to weave is boring.
tldr. gege never said he found his first draft boring. idk where all these people got this from. but i guess people wanna cling to anything that can keep their agenda running 🙄
im not gonna tag the general jjk hashtag here coz i'm kinda hating on the fandom atm lmao. its another week another megumi slander with these guys and its always coz of misinterpretation 🙄
#im so tired#this fandom sometimes... 🙄🙄🙄#dont let agendakaisen ruin your brains#im never stepping foot in jjktwt ever again#i'll just keep to myself in megumi nation#<( •̀ᴖ•́)>#anyway#megumi looked so cutie in jujutsu sousen aaaa#the curse that possessed him there kinda reminds me of venom tho...#if youre a megumi hater go away#>:(

Checked out the last couple chapters of My Hero Academia bc i was curious how it ended
-I actually thought the chapter with Ochaco going to cry and Deku following her to comfort and telling her she's his hero and has been from the beginning and saying she's always put her needs before others but she deserves support too was EXTREMELY sweet. like awwww. such sweet kids. Especially when the whole class ran up to her and Tsuyu tackle hugged her what!!! i'm glad the manga still has that sweetness in it, despite all the other faults, I think it looks like it did carry through the importance of friendship and supporting each other here.
-Ochaco spearheading an effort to give kids counseling about their quirks and any mental health issues they might be having regarding them, expanding the hero role beyond just crime-fighting (with Momo and Tsuyu and Iida), is also actually incredibly sweet and in-character too. It's actually surprising to not see her get shafted, considering how incredibly shafted she was in the parts I watched
i can't believe Ochaco has a dead gf now (joking)
-did...did momo actually get a decent costume where she doesn't have to be walking fanservice in a way she's uncomfortable with at the literal last minute when we can't even fully see it?
she-she did didn't she. She gets sexualized to hell and back as a teen when it's super unsettling and gets to wear a not stupid looking outfit as an adult when it would be less so. I mean I'm glad I guess but the fact Horikoshi just decided to do that in her last couple panels where it doesn't matter anymore really speaks to having your cake and eating it too huh
-I am shocked Ochaco and Deku don't seem to have gotten together in the end when horikoshi was setting her as a love interest so hard. Though it might be because it really seemed like the last chapter was leaving things open for a sequel (we'll never be free) or maybe Horikoshi didn't want to upset any shippers, wise of him. But it lets me imagine she hooked up with Tsuyu. or maybe both her and momo (i guess iida's there too) who knows.
-I guess Deku lost his quirk again during the battle and then All Might gives him tech the tech girl came up (with Bakugou sponsoring it. i guess that's fine. as his penance) that i guess gives him the advantages of a quirk so it doesn't matter actually. I mean I have been wondering why he and others never just got to use tech to compensate so i guess that's fine, but the sacrifice he apparently made was seemingly meaningless lmao
-I like that MHA was apparently wasted all this time with the villains backstory and how they could be redeemed and how society had failed them then apparently just killed ALL of them at the end? how completely pointless, it's actually extremely funny.
-"Kirishima is popular with the male demographic" yeah i bet he is.
-:/ all the short haired girls have longer hair as adults while everyone else looks largely the same. wow convenient.
-did endeavor die? wait let me check.sigh of course he's alive, but i it appears dabi beat him up so bad he can't stand up on his own (good 4 u dabi) and he's retired i guess that's something. Even dabi is dying slowly horikoshi really could not let a single villain survive lmao
-I do not know why Deku needed to tells that kid that his quirk of creating little flying saucer disks could absolutely be useful as hero if he trains like...obviously it would be? That's a pretty good power? but i guess it's a sweet callback, and I also like that he's a teacher, I think he would be good at that.
-my mind would likely change if I read the nonsense leading up to this. but it wasn't that bad as a final chapter overall, though weirdly low key. definitely comes off as being as ambiguous as possible for the sake of a sequel. at least it wasn't one where we have to follow the child characters who are conveniently carbon copies of their parents. I have closure now.
