one of the books gets checked out and lloyd has an aneurism trying to find who did it before the full moon because the only time anyone is competent is when there’s no one else to argue with

Also for those with a minute are two to burn here is the draft for that fic I was working on :

“ Douglas come on, we’re gonna be late for the car show!” Leo fussed, tussling with his jacket as he inched toward the door. Next to him, Adam was shining his tennis shoes and nodding enthusiastically. “ Yeah Dougy we gotta get going or all the dopeass parking spots will be gone.”

Douglas had spent most of the day moving his old boxes from the Academy to the Davenport Penthouse and was frankly tired at this point. He’d made the questionable choice to promise Leo and Adam a trip to the Centuim City Car show for “good behavior” and couldn't deny that they kept up their end of the bargain. 

“ Parking? Really Adam?” he sighed, taking a moment to sift through a box marked. Evil Items to deal with/ Figure out later. Damn himself he really outta not leave things to be done at a later date…

“ Yeah! I heard they have killer hotdogs too! Get this… They have a condiment bar and the condiments come out in little gasoline pumps!” he exclaimed holding his hands out with a tilt as if he had said something groundbreaking. They looked at him for a bit. Leo opened his mouth, thought better of it, and closed it again before returning to Douglas.

“ Come on Lil D… You can deal with those boxes later. We gotta get outta here before Chase and Big D come back and beg to go too. You know those two are real party poopers.” Douglas grimaced a bit as he dug deeper in the box. “ Geez Leo I get it. I just really wanna get all these boxes to my room before tomorrow!” 

“ Whats happening down here?”

Kaz chuckled, dragging his way down the steps. “ Actually, save your breath. I was eavesdropping. Heh. Classic Kaz move.” He flew the last two steps, to lazy to even walk the rest of the way down, and stopped with a hover over the boxes. Oliver came down right after him his nose buried in a comic.

“ Oh, this is perfect!” Leo gasped. “ Pepper spray and Frosty the Nerd here can use their freaky deeky powers to put these boxes away for you Dougy!” Adam nodded along enthusiastically.

“ Yes! Wait, I thought their super names were Wild-Spark and Frost-Flare? I already had them sign my limited edition Frost-Spark branded thermoses with those names… How can I resell them on Eway for triple the auction price now!” Adam questioned with a whine.

“Doesn't matter because I don't trust these super-powered geeks with a fresh chicken egg let alone my personal belongings.” Douglas griped; continuing to dig in the box. “ And I think some collectors would actually pay top dollar for items with the original names…” he added with a nod to Adam. Just as his hand came into contact with a suspiciously familiar bag, Oliver used his super strength to lift the whole box away. 

“ Who says you can't trust us? We’re very trustworthy!” he bargained while flinging the box like it was weightless. 

“ Us. Yeah, we don't trust you guys, You are very inexperienced. Super. Yeah. Yea..” the Davenports and Dooley mildly commented their opinions overlapping each other but all agreeing to the same conclusion. “Yeah, I would NOT trust the supes personally…” Kaz added flipping through the comic Oliver had left discarded.  

Oliver swatted at his arm. “ OW. Super strength Oli!”

“ Well, I want you guys to trust us. We’re on the same team and if gaining your trust involves putting up a few boxes… well I think we can handle that.” He said with a sure nod. Kaz was quiet. Oliver swatted at him again.“ DUDE. SUPER. STRENGTH.” 

“ Kaz. Don't leave me hanging here!” Oliver hissed as he set the box down. With a groan, Kaz began his reprisal:

“ Do I have to?” 

“ No. KAZ. I’ll do all the work while you sit there and look pretty.” 

“Pretty sure that’s what I’m best at. But alright, fine. I’ll move the box.”

Using as little strength as possible Kaz used his foot to shift a small box a few inches before settling back down to read the comic.  “ Done.”

“ Kaz!” Oliver began. “ Chill Oli, I'm a professional.” 

The Davenports and Dooley stood there for a second before Leo clasped his hands again. “ Good enough for us! Come on. Dougy. Adam. Let's go.” He grabbed his uncle and brother with his bionic limb and drug them out.

“ Alright! Alright!” Douglas fussed. “ You two just put those boxes in my room, I'll deal with them later. Do NOT look in them, especially the ones that say Evil on ‘em.”

“He's not talking to me,” Kaz assured his buddy

“I'm only talking to you, Kaz.” Douglas reaffirmed from the hall outside the apartment.

As soon as Douglas, Adam, and Leo had rushed out, leaving the penthouse in a flurry of excitement for the car show, Kaz took a moment to sit back, stretch, and lazily inspect the room. His eyes landed back on the box that Douglas had left behind, and the familiar mischievous grin tugged at his lips.

He zipped over to the box as fast as he could. The label Evil Items to deal with/ Figure out later practically screamed "Look in me!" in Kaz’s mind.

Oliver, still awkwardly hovering near the box, raised an eyebrow and shot a wary glance at Kaz. “Kaz, do you ever listen to anyone?”

Kaz’s face brightened, as he peered at Oliver. “ Come on Oli-pop, Dougie told me not to look. Nothing about riffling through them. So you know what that means.”

“Uh…” Oliver hesitated. “It means you’re gonna “riffle” through it anyway and probably make a mess?”

“Bingo!” Kaz grinned wide and started sifting through the box.

Oliver sighed. “Kaz, you're like a walking disaster, man. I swear.” He watched, making no real effort to stop his friend with his arms crossed, as Kaz dug deeper into the box, tossing aside old, dusty items like he was shopping for treasure.

To be frank he was curious too. The Davenports had told little about Douglas’ past before rejoining his family. And maybe this box would hold some juicy secrets.

Kaz dug in deep pushing past through innators and doomsday devices before pulling out a black bag marked with a large, red "DESTROY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE" tag. His eyes sparkled. “Oooh, what’s this? If it says ‘destroy,’ it’s gotta be good!”

Oliver immediately raised his voice. “Kaz, don’t—”

Just as he spoke, the door to the penthouse swung open, and in strode Chase and Donald. Donald was talking to his wife Tasha, assuring her that Leo was with Douglas and that he and Chase had safely arrived.

Chase’s eyes immediately landed on Kaz, and his face scrunched in typical exasperation as he fumbled with his satchel.  

“Kaz!” he shouted, beeling toward him. “ I know that look on your face! Whatever that is you shouldn't be touching it!”

Kaz grinned and shrugged. “Yeah, but like, if it says destroy on it and I find that interesting, that’s like… an invitation, right? Like, maybe I’m doing the owner a favor!”

Chase’s expression darkened and he lunged for the bag. “No, Kaz! That’s literally the opposite of a favor!”

Kaz, now holding the black bag aloft like a prized find, gave it a little shake. “C’mon, Chaser, what’s the worst that could happen~”

“A lot, if you're involved, Super klutz!” Chase fussed.

“Puulease~” Kaz gaufed. “ I can be-”

As if on cue, the bag slipped from Kaz’s hands as they tussled over it, hitting the ground with a muffled thud. Both boys froze for a moment, looking down at the bag.

Then, with a horrifying crack, the object inside shattered into a million glass-like pieces. Which then slid out of the shredded bag.

“Great Job Kazemerias!” Chase proclaimed sarcasm oozing from his voice as he lunged down to pick them up, but the jagged shards glinted dangerously.

“Chase, careful!” Oliver yelled, taking a step forward, but Chase ignored him.

“Get back!” he barked, swatting at Kaz and Oliver who were trying to help, but clearly making things worse in Chase’s mind. 

Donald, who had finished his call with Tasha from the doorway, now stepped forward. His face twisted in mild frustration, but the calm, authoritative edge to his voice cut through the tension. “ That looks like one of Doug's boxes. He's got some really dangerous stuff in storage... I can't imagine he’d let you look-” he stopped himself before continuing. “ No wait he would do that. Well- Oliver I wouldn't expect you to go through someone's private belongings like that. ” 

Oliver muttered a nervous, “Sorry, Mr. Davenport.” and Kaz gasped in annoyance. 

“ The emphasis on the you is really telling Mr. Davenport.”

Chase let out his own indignant huff. “ You made this mess Kaz so I think it’s a well-deserved discrepancy.” 

The glass pieces were still scattered across the floor, glimmering menacingly. Chase let out a sharp hiss of pain and clutched his palm. Blood began to seep from a slit on his hand, from where he’d cut himself while trying to handle the shards. His eyes flashed with frustration and… something else,  as he pressed the wound against his side, not looking at anyone else as he pulled out a pen-like machine from his satchel. Staring at it for a second before shaking his head as if he had escaped a trance, and began fiddling with the device.

“Chase!” Donald’s voice softened, the concern obvious. He quickly strode over, knelt beside him, and examined the cut. “Let me get you a bandage, kid. I've been working on these quick healing strips. This cut is a bit deep but it should help…” He strode off to get the bandages

Kaz scratched his head. “I didn’t mean to break it. Honest. I thought it’d be like… a million dollars or something. Ya know rich people leave stacks of those in random places…”

Oliver awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck, looking at the floor. “Yeah, I—I didn’t exactly stop him. So... I’m sorry too. We should’ve just put the boxes in Doug’s room like he asked.”

Chase gave a half-hearted glare, wincing as he flexed his palm to examine the cut “ Whatever. I should've been more careful cleaning this mess. God knows you probably would've sliced your finger clean off. ”

Kaz’s face twisted in mock offense. “ Maybe, Chaser…”

“Mm-hmm,” Donald muttered, coming back up with the bandage. He leaned down, applying a glowing blue strip to Chase's palm. It shrunk to the exact parameters of the cut and faded to match his son's skin tone.

“How many trail runs did you test this thing with, Mr. Davenport?” Chase asked, running a finger over it. “ Loads, I've been toying with these for decades and they've been doing amazing in practice these past two years. What I can’t figure out is how to manufacture them at a less expensive cost so they can be sold to distributors and consumers for less” Donald stood up and dusted his hands off. “ These strips can help a lot of people… they’ll pull out bacteria and all kinds of icky stuff out of wounds.”

“And ,Next time Kaz, leave the dangerous stuff alone. That includes whatever that was.” He gestured at the broken pieces, which were nowhere to be seen anymore.

“I, uh... got rid of the pieces with my mini-atomizer,” Chase added sheepishly holding up the pen-like contraption, finally glancing up. “It’s... gone now. Shouldn’t be a problem.”

Kaz eyed the pen, already planning things. “Well, that’s one way to make it disappear, I guess.”

“I swear, you two...” Donald sighed, rubbing his temples. “Just... just go sit down, okay? All three of you and Chase don't mess around too much with the healing strip. Whatever you do, don't get it wet. I haven't figured out water resistance for this particular model yet.” He cast a pointed glance at Kaz and Oliver before leaving them all to sulk quietly.

Kaz and Oliver, both apologized again to Chase, sat down, the atmosphere hanging with a mixture of guilt and awkwardness. Chase went to the Kitchen planning to cook up a five-star meal probably.

Kaz stretched out on the couch, looking unbothered again despite everything. “That was kind of fun, though.”

Oliver shot him a warning look but didn’t respond. Instead, he turned his attention back to the spot where the mysterious black glass had vanished and thought about the mini-atomizer and how he could get his hands on it.

Chance: he’s a history nerd. (Half based on the fact that my history nerd significant other mains them)

007n7: he tries to socialize with the rest of the group but they all ignore him most of the time

Elliot: he’s a people pleaser. Like to the point where he’s basically dying and still insist on helping out

Hoagie has the ideas, Nigel refines them (and avoids Hoagie from making them too dangerous or unstable) and they build them together. Nigel hasn't always been one for manual work but lately he found out it helps him not to think too much. And Hoagie's more than happy to help "Big Boss" relax!

Kuki is Nigel's personal ray of sunshine (that's also why the whole school calls her that). She helps him to cheer up and see life in a different way, a more colorful and positive one. They don't even have to talk, Nigel just needs to sit next to her and plop his head on her shoulder and she knows it's time to work her magic on him! Also she somehow convinced him to have her test her "make up skills" on him. Don't ask why, that's how they roll. AND! Kuki's been in charge of taking care of Nigel's rainbow monkey plush since he left for GKND.

Especially Wally found a good friend he can talk to when life gets too hard on him, he knows Nigel will be more than happy to listen to him go off without judging or forcing a solution on him. Basically Nigel KNOWS the root of all of Wally's problems and understands his feelings. They don't like to show how close they are around, but if they find each other alone, it's feeling time.

I'm not really a big game connoisseur, I only play with stardew valley and have played animal crossing in the past, my knowledge of gaming is very limit. 😌 But I feel like Copia is one of those gamers who like to stick to the old classics you know? Because no matter how good a new game can be, our nostalgic hearts are always gonna go back to our favorites eventually. 🫶🏻 Especially if it's a game he used to play when younger. I speak from personal experience when I say that there's no game that could beat a childhood one 🥹 So I think no matter how many different games he may collects and enjoy a lot, at the end of the day he's always re-playing with his favorite classics. Like Mario Kart, for example. 🥹 I think he might enjoy those games where you go on an adventure and ahead of your path there are crazy mysterious quests to do. 🥰 The game he plays in chapter 16 is about cars, yes, but seems to have also an interesting plot with different routes and outcomes depending on which option you pick, you get what I mean?

But also. Listen to me girl. Bear with me. I have a vision.

Copia and stardew valley. Copia playing stardew valley. Girl I know it's silly and definitely self indulgent because this is my favorite game. And I love more to think that Copia is more a console gamer rather than a laptop one, he loves to do it the old fashioned way you know? But bear with me let me explain. Stardew valley has no age. 😔

So, there's no doubt that Copia would love to play games with you and share this hobby of his together on a chill afternoon.

Let's say you're a nerdy gamer as he is. And let's say one day he catches you play with stardew valley on your own. He doesn't know this game. He sees how invested you are in the game as he follows your stardew OC walking around Pelican Town, pays attention to the little tunes, how colored and beautifully looking the different places are... eventually he gets so curious that he wants to try it out to know what this is about, even though he himself rarely plays on laptop. If his lover is so invested in this game it must be a good one, after all.

Girl that man would have a blast the second he makes his own farm. I can see him so clearly. He would love to romance Emily and make pretty clothes with the sewing machine. Hell, he probably would spend several days just making clothes of all kinds to test every option he can get. He would have so much fun with the many festivals, and appreciate how different and vaste the music is. I think he'd love to do silly things just because he can: not giving Lewis his pants back to put them in the soup at the Luau festival or make his own pair to wear in front of Marnie, turning his kids into doves, naming a chicken [74]. The options are endless. 👀 He's the kind of person who would finish an entire season in just one day if his schedule allows it. I think part of his love for gaming is about appreciating the creativity and aesthetic of it, and stardew is so full of creativity! 🫶🏻 He'd adore it. And finally, he'd understand why you like this game so much. The lore of the game is beautiful and so fun. There's nothing quite like the first farm, when everything in the game is new and a surprise, you don't know what comes next and have to figure out every little thing.

Next thing you'll hear from him is asking you to make a co-op farm together so you can take care of your own shared farm and get married with each other. How cute would be? Can you see my vision the way I do? 🥹 It makes me so soft to think about this tbh 🥺👉🏻👈🏻 I'm gonna waste my day smooching him thousands times in a row until it's 2 am and we pass out. It'd be so sweet. Decorating your house together and use his co-op smaller house as a extra room or storage, watering the crops together (which means that you would water the crops while he just walks around to dig the worms and feed the animals because watering crops is boring), vibing in the secret woods doing nothing special just because it's a beautiful place, giving each other gifts, or helping each other in the mines even if it means that you'll pass out. There's so much to say. He'd enjoy Abigail aesthetic and the wizard, love Krobus, have fun going to ginger island and try to complete the community center as quick as possible, cooking all recipes. Just wait until he finds out that there's a huge universe of mods to try out.... What do you mean he can change the look of his house into a hobbit house!? Star wars mod?? WHAT!?!? You'd lose him forever at that point. 😂 The possibilities are endless 😌 god. Terzo would never get over it if he knew his brother plays stardew. 😂 Poor Copia. 😌 I just think it's a neat, cute image to think about despite it be a little silly don't you think? 🥹

He'd get time off any chance he get, frankly. 😌 He works hard! Let him get the rest and chill time he deserves whenever he can! Right, so I think it's important for me to try to talk about Oliver, especially if people are making Fics about The Evil Merman AU as he's Giovanni's love interest.

This is Oliver! His epithet is Lightning and he's Percy's younger brother (19 y/o)

I'd say he's the opposite of Percy, she's calm and collected while he's nervous, anxious, and 5 seconds away from snapping. She's confident while Oli is ready to lay on the floor for a bit. Percy is optimistic while Oli is a realist. The two couldn't be any more different however they care about each other immensely. In terms of how they are relationship wise, think of Applejack and a much louder Fluttershy.

Oli also speaks with a slight stutter and is very self conscious of his scars, especially the one on his eye. He also owns a wheelchair, a cane, a prosthetic, and a pair of crutches for his amputated leg!

He's also autistic, he loves boats, sharks, building figures, vocaloid, and comic books! HE'S A BIG OL NERD AND WILL LOVE TO TALK ABOUT HIS SPECIAL INTERESTS! However he's always content in listening to what others have to say. He isn't very confident in himself but he appreciates it when people help him with that and bring him out of his shell!

He also has a pet chicken named Gertrude who he loves very much!

A/N: I thought this would be something cool to write headcanons for especially because I've played through the Sebastian yandere mod and have watched vids on the others being yanderes. Personally I feel as if some of them don't really fit the yandere category and others would fit them more.

I feel like Sebby doesn't often show his emotions, especially because he seems introverted.

But the thing is he doesn't seem like the shy uwu scared of people introverted he's more of a voluntary introvert and just prefers being along but has no problem interacting with people

So for that I'm saying he's more the type to always be calm around the person he likes, never making his feelings obvious and never treating them any different than he would treat anyone he sees as a friend.

I also feel as though if he did open up it would be in a nonchalant way, it wouldn't be dramatic or romantic I think he would just be stating his feelings as facts.

I feel as though if he developed feelings for you either you would notice right away with how weird he acts around you or you wouldn't notice at all because you assume he's quiet with everyone unless its medically related.

So maybe not shy but quiet does describe him.

Obviously he opens up around you little by little the more you interact with him but it takes a lot of effort on both if your parts

On yours you have to consistently bother him and talk to him which is a lot of work especially when its not reciprocated at first

And on his he has to allow himself to be vulnerable and open with a person, its even harder when you feel romantic feelings for that person because what if they don't really like you in that way or they decide they don't like you after getting to know you

And I feel like that exactly describes Shane

While he is an alcoholic(recovering or not based on how you see him and play the game)He is very sweet even if not to people other than you(once you get to know him), jas, and his chickens.

Does seem like the type that once he starts feeling things for you he would start helping in small ways but also tries to not make it obvious

Oh he sees you walking from the woods with a big ass bag of fiber rocks and wood?

He'll offer to carry it if you need help

Sees you out and about in town, asks what you're up to and if you need help with anything

But don't think that he'a doing this because he likes you

He doesn't he just wants to pay back the kindness you've given to him back to you so he doesn't owe you anything

Ends every sentence to you with stupid or idiot if it allows without seeming genuinely mean

Does really like you and slowly starts showing you that once you show you aren't going anywhere

Does still get incredibly flustered when you do something sweet for or to him

Though if you get together is more open with his affection.

Described as a person that is very loving and affectionate to their loved one until it becomes a constant obsession leading them to become overprotective, violent, and psychotic towards anyone they deem a threat to their loved one, even the loved one themself

First of all his yandere mod was the scariest one yet like ooof

And while he does not seem like a violent person

He is a writer, which means he is some sort of delusional, creative, and or imaginative that I think he could have a mental break and carry out the things he imagines. 

We see that due to him being a writer, he is basically a hermit because all he does is stay in his cabin and write all day

Like yeah he's friends with Leah but how often do you think he actually leaves his home seeking interaction?

I feel like he would meet you and then suffer from a writers block and its your fault because now all he can think about is you

You're his muse

And due to that he becomes obsessive over you, no one else can have you he needs you at the very least more than they do.

Would 1000 percent stalk you, in his mind he's just watching over you to make sure nothing happens to you

Whether that be in town, on your farm, in the mines...he has to keep you closeby.

Speaking as a writer that does get very obsessed with things to the point of me changing what i write about and how often I think about or daydream about it

I think he is the most likely candidate for this kind of 'love' towards a person

Your imagination can delude your thinking, paired with living in a cabin alone with only your thoughts and silence it's no wonder he would be slightly insane.

Described as clumsy, stupid, and lacking in common sense when dealing with things in their life, but also very optimistic, and having a carefree, child-like innocence.

While this may seem like I'm roasting him I'm not

I do think he sometimes seems clumsy or dumb or even maybe like a teen especially because he's just playing guitar or skateboarding or playing video games

But there are glimpses of him being responsible and caring

Like how he actually had a job, even if it's part time

Or during his heart event when Vincent asks if their dad is going to come home before we find out that he indeed does come home

He covers his true feelings with optimism and happiness even if he's worried, which makes me think he fits this.

He only wants his loved one to be happy, and while constant optimism may seem or be annoying so certain people, he wants to be that light in your life.

And because he's so optimistic he is naturally kinder to others, while others like Sebastian, Shane, or Haley are standoffish when you meet them, Sam is sweet and is happy to meet you which translates well into getting to know you and then shifting into a romantic relationship

So while he may seem dumb to others, even to you with how positive he's being he's actually far from it even if he is a little reckless and clumsy sometimes

He turns down the constant optimism after getting together, but never stops being positive towards you, no matter if you succeed or fail, he's there to pick you up again with kind words and unwavering support.

the dude is basically a himbo, though some of the things he says can be seen as iffy or mysogynistic

im pretty sure he doesn't mean any of it though, and while he can come off as dumb and out of touch he is shown to be sweet and caring and using his frat boy persona as a way of keeping people at an arms length

due to that i see him as similar but different to Sam

both boys seem kind of dumb, annoyingly optimistic, and sort of innocent in a way.

and both boys tend to use that as a surface personality, and until you actually take time to know them(Sam's worries, Alex's background and current worries) they seem like the type of people to be positive in any situation

Also seems as if he would take on a leader role simply because everyone voted for him to be it because of his positivity.

another thing is how certain(though inside he's not as) that he will become a gridball player.

Like the dude only talks positively about his dreams and is constantly working towards his goal

as well as we see in his dialogue that the farmer does indeed sometimes get annoyed at his words such as when he says things like "what why're you looking at me like that"

exactly as an anime character in this role would do.

Though after marriage is still sorta a dummy which is low key kinda cute.

Amazing, Showstopping, Glamorous Blue Lock Headcanons That Are Definitely True Ego Told Me So #4

The Blue Lock brain rot is severe in this one lols

-Isagi is touchy in the sense of always fixing or adjusting something on those around him. Stray hair? He's smoothing it out. Jersey's all bunched up in the back? He's tugging it straight. Shoe's coming undone? He's dropping to the ground and tying them for you. The team like to tease him about being a mother hen, but really; where would they all be without him?

-Bachira is great lyricist but a terrible singer. He can make up some really good lines and verses if he tries hard enough, but they never really sound right. Reo offered to sing them for him once, as did Aryu- they formed their own little group they called "The Wisteri-AHHs!" The band broke up not too long after when they couldn't decide on what to call their first single.

-Nikko cried in the locker room when he heard The Wisteri-AHHs broke up. That was his big One Direction moment. (He also cried when One Direction broke up.)

-A lot of people speculate Sae was the one to introduce Rin to the horror genre given how much his younger brother idolized him in their youth, but paparazzi once caught sight of him playing MySims on his switch and that idea was quickly dismissed.

-On that note Sae hates horror movies and gets ridiculously jumpy after enduring such things (Shidou is a big fan- every other movie night has at least ONE cheesy horror film from the 80's/90's- those are the only ones Sae will sit through).

-Chigiri can tie a cherry stem into a knot with his mouth. Isagi tried to copy him and proceeded to choke. Bachira tried to tie a banana peel into a knot with his mouth once. Ego has since put a ban on doing such things.

-Reo is a HUGE Wicked fan. He knows all the steps and words to every song (His favorite is Popular- he likes to sing that while getting Nagi up and out of bed) and will belt out Defying Gravity if given the opportunity. Raichi will claim it's annoying but he's secretly a huge Wicked nerd as well and will occasionally join in with Reo's antics.

-Otoya one time convinced Karasu that waxing his armpits would make his arm-span range better. The result was him laughing himself sick in the bathroom while the bird man struggled to rip the wax strip off. He may have cried when Yukimiya-beyond over their bullshit- ripped it off for him.

-Isagi unironically thought Oliver was in his late 30's when he first saw him during the U-20 match. When he found out he was only 19 he accidentally blurted out "in dog years?" No one ever lets him live it down and Oliver has yet to recover.

-Yukimiya can make a variety of animal sounds ranging from dolphin chirps to monkey screeches to an expansive list of bird calls. He and Nagi make a game out of it, much to Rin's annoyance.

-You know that vine "Stop saying I look like chicken little, he's dumb and a coward, and I'M NOT A COWARD!"- that's Karasu whenever someone says he looks like Kaito from Danganronpa.

A Bunch of WHOLESOME Valorant Headcanons

Damn I shoulda posted these a week ago but here goes. Also thank you to @eviethelesbian for coming up with the prompt. Gotta give credit yknow.

Neon

Is always challenging people to race her or beat her in some way.  Competitive as hell but just likes the thrill of it

Misses her old home, but brought a lot of her mementos along and has a story behind every one of them in her room

She’s worried about her powers acting up, but Sage and Reyna helping her out has given her a little more confidence.  She’s grateful to both of them

Sleeps like a rock after a hard day, to the point where it's usually impossible to wake her and not get shocked in the process

Has big sister energy with most of the other young agents and lightly teases them if they lose to her.  Always lets people rechallenge her and may or may not let them win 

Complete menace to the fridge because of the calories she burns running so fast, but shares the food she preps.  

Gets excited when she meets dogs and will absolutely lose her mind if someone lets her pet their dog

Brimstone

Despite being the leader and ex-military he’s not really harsh on any of the younger agents

They still hate him for the PT he makes them do, especially because he knows how to bring out the best of them.  

Usually it's reminding them about not letting someone close to them down, but other times it’s about proving themself

A lot of personal records have been set thanks to Brimstone, but the aches and pains from intense exercise are the price of hard work

He is always there for agents when they have self doubt or regret.  A hand on their shoulder, giving them some time to themselves, or a quick story from his ‘younger days’ that manages to provide some guidance

Him and KAYO sometimes take a few extra minutes after a briefing to go over ‘potential strategies’ or ‘advanced tactics’ but everyone knows it's for them to talk about something pleasant before getting back to work.  

When agents return from a successful mission and are unharmed, the look on his face is of pure relief

Killjoy

A lot of her ideas come from something someone says or suggests, she’s always listening to people intently because of this

The chicken design on the turret was in reference to a chicken she kept after her school did one of those agriculture/biology programs.  She named it ‘Gelbie’ and the turret shares the name.

She may build her gadgets, but she prefers to have people weigh in on the colors (hence Raze helping her out a lot).  She lets people pick out some of the colors of things

She’s the tech support for a lot of people and likes using it as an excuse to get to know people.  Also has left notes for people who don’t understand tech as well, signed with little doodles 

Can and will outdrink other agents, and loves dragging people to go clubbing.  If whoever she brings isn’t the most social, she’ll keep close if they need it and encourage them to try dancing with someone

Huge nerd for everything and somehow part of every fandom.  Will definitely rewatch or replay things with fellow agents.  Enjoys talking about the nerdiest stuff with anyone 

While working for Kingdom, she’d hack the coffee machines and vending machines to spit out free drinks for her favorite coworkers.

Absolutely loves her jacket, and it was a gift from one of her friends back in Germany and she does her best to keep it in the best condition she can, despite the firefights

If an agent is a little shaken from the last fight, she’ll lay her jacket on them if they need it or if they’re sleeping.  She sees it as extending a bit of good luck.

Blushed a lot when Raze joined the VP and stayed up late to help her with any kind of work.  She’d make excuses for it too and try to avoid letting people see how red her face was.  It made it even more obvious

Deadlock

Didn’t realize how serious she seemed at first and used to scare some of the younger agents, much to the amusement of Viper.  Apologized a lot after she realized it

Has moments where she drops her formality and everyone kinda stops what they’re doing.  When she isn’t restraining herself to monotone or quiet it’s really noticeable

Nobody knew she could laugh at first but it came out once.  It’s one of those really loud and tearful ones that she can barely breathe through.  Borderline snorting laugh

On occasion she’ll tell people how they remind her of her ‘sisters’ 

Will sit in with the other agents while they watch dramas and whatever else, despite her obvious confusion.  

Is blunt, but tells people what they need to hear to get things done.  Never leaves any room for miscommunication or anxiety at all

Understanding and observant with the other agents, and is often able to bring an element of calm to tense situations

Kept the tags of her Staljaeger unit and has them in a locked box in her room, along with a group photo

Enjoys doing her weapon maintenance because she can sort of lose herself in the work, but doesn’t mind doing it with others

Wears a ton of sweaters, like absolutely lives in those ultra-comfortable ones that are constantly warm

Gekko (+ Wingman)

Wingman will grab people’s hands and try to lead them to things.  It’s always the fridge cause he isn’t tall enough to reach the handles

Wingy will bring things to his favorite people, and most of the time its things from Chamber’s room cause of how shiny they are

Neon loves that Wingman steals from Chamber and lets him into Chamber’s room for the hell of it

If asked to grab things by anyone other than Gekko, he brings the wrong item most of the time.  Cypher once asked for a soldering iron and Wingman brought back a minifridge that let cans and food everywhere

Dizzy passively floats in Gekko’s room like a helium balloon and is usually found on the ceiling.  All curled up and sleeping like a cat.

Thrash will follow a laser pointer around and yes there’s a video of it 

Gekko may not have a lot of battlefield experience but he’s always ready to charge in to save someone.  

He also gets along great with everyone by keeping things light and throwing compliments around.  Phoenix and him brighten up a room, and behave like brothers

Loves having dinner with the protocol, it feels like the dinners his familia would have 

Will attempt to do challenges from the internet with other agents.  Most of the duelists are usually game but getting Brimstone to try something makes his day

Discussed working with the protocol with his mom before leaving, and sends her little postcards from the places he’s visited.  The radivores sign them with paw prints

Will help people dye their hair no questions asked and knows all the places to get tattoos and dye in LA.  Loves showing his home to the agents.

Loves getting together with people and hitting up food trucks, doesn’t matter what kind of food either

Protocol Wide Headcanon

One time someone (Neon or Jett take ur pick) put a Jalapeno in someone’s (Harbor’s) food as a prank.  When he ate it no problem, that’s when some other agents chimed in saying that Jalapenos aren’t spicy.

This began a debate as to what is and isn’t considered spicy, and to test their theories more chiles, peppers, and habaneros were eaten.

This led to almost the entire protocol having a contest to see who could eat the spiciest food.  A lot of people were either trying to prove a point or show how tough they were

It got so heated that Brimstone stepped in, and decided to make a point as to who knows spicy food the best

He made a chili the next night that had people turning red, downing milk and chewing ice, and generally rolling around in pain

Undiluted spice hell

Brim said he used a family recipe and that nobody would ever be able to handle the chili his grandpa came up with

Viper had poured straight capsaicin into the chili the night before, she just wanted to stop the contest and since capsaicin is a neurotoxin she had a ton of it lying around

Brim still thinks it was his cooking

Now from time to time, small contests of spice tolerance break out over dinner but not enough to get the attention of the higher ups, fear of the chili haunts them

I’m a straight Bengali girl (daughter of Aphrodite), who’s a little chubby and has a lot of acne scars (both of which I’m insecure about, though, I’ve been staring to like my acne scars lately). I wear glasses and without them, the world around me is very blurry. I’m pretty shy and nervous, so I sort of have trouble speaking to strangers or people I don’t know well. But once I’m comfortable around you and we mutually see each other as friends, I’m able to show you my chaotic side and feel comfortable saying some pretty wild things. I also make quite a few sexual jokes. Though I am more comfortable to speak freely with my friends, if I’m in a relatively big group that consists of my friends, I get really nervous speaking in front of all of them, so I opt to talk to individuals rather than the collective. I crave for physical affection but I never ask for it because I’ll feel bad if I get rejected of such, so I’ll wait til someone decide to give me affection. I’m a huge romantic fan and love reading romance stories or fanfic, and I love men who are completely obsessed with you. If I’m going to be honest, I feel more attracted to depressed or sad men rather than happy or cheerful men. I love eating food, but don’t really like eating in front of people much cause I always feel like I’m being judge for the way I eat even if that’s not actually the case. I can’t help it, so I prefer to eat alone. My favourite food is chicken curry and rice! I have trouble keeping eye contact so I usually look somewhere else while talking to people, but I do occasionally (while in the conversation) do make eye contact. There are times where it takes time for my brain to process some situations or dialogue, and I have an awfully memory. I also hate reading out load cause my brain takes time to process the words on the paper for me to read out load, so it makes me say the words out load slowly and almost choppy, you know? I love my friends very much and always love to hang out with them, even if we are simply in a room together only doing our own thing. I just like being in their presence. Though, once my social battery runs out, I’d like to be alone in my room (though, I I have a romantic partner, I wouldn’t mind them being with me). I’m always open to be their for my friends if they are down and listen to their problems, but not good at verbally comforting them, so I’m open for providing them physical comfort such as a hug or rubbing their back if that’s what they want. If I don’t anything embarrassing, I will constantly think about the moment for years and best myself over it and mentally redo that whole conversation or action in a way better way that I should have done to have not embarrassed myself earlier, you know? I very kind and often give people the benefit of the doubt, and I’m sort of a pushover, but I’m still able to say no to situations that make me uncomfortable.

I love reading, drawing, and creating ocs and world building. I’m such a mythology nerd, especially when it comes to Greek mythology (I have many books about these myths). I absolutely hate bugs and because of them, I hate being in forests and such cause I always get swarmed by them. I’m also afraid of the dark, so when I sleep, I leave my door open and the hallway light on.

My matchups are usually long like this so that’s why they may take a little while to come out 🥸 pls bear with me guys 🫶

Luke Castellan!!

(Let’s all collectively join hands and pretend he didn’t die 🫰)

After the second titan war was officially over, Luke went through a lot before finally being able to return to camp

He did literally stab himself to end Kronos’s reign of terror, so after a long fight discussion amongst the gods, it was decided he should be given a second chance at life. A brand new start

Not without cleaning his mess first though. He was assigned by the gods to send a load of monsters he recruited for Kronos back to Tartarus, while simultaneously healing from his fatal wound

Even under Apollo’s direct care, the injury left a huge, nasty scar on his body

Honestly, he preferred facing whatever punishment Hades had for him in the Underworld than helping any god. But he owed everyone (specially Annabeth and Thalia, his real family) an apology and to make things right

So he killed a shitload of monsters, (complained the whole time)

When he finally got back to camp, he almost couldn’t believe how much it had changed. The place was PACKED with new campers (and they were not all cramped in his cabin like usual 😱)

And there were twice as many cabins too??? for the smaller gods???

Was he at the right place?😀 Was he actually dead?🧍‍♂️

Took a lot of explaining for him to believe he wasn’t

The thought of demigods not having to go through what he went through was incredible, but hard to believe

A bit bittersweet for him too

On top of that, it took a lot of time and effort to regain everyone’s trust on him

Even with all the new space available in the Hermes cabin, he had to sleep on the ground for a long time before his siblings let him have a bed 💀

He had to prove himself for a long time before everyone started opening up to him again

Slowly but surely, it started to happen!! Annabeth and most of the campers got back to speaking terms with him, Thalia visited sometimes and Percy was still a little sus every time they interacted (specially when Annabeth was in the room🤷‍♀️) but it eventually got better

It wasn’t the same as before of course, which made him feel…lonely most of the time. It wasn’t perfect, but he was grateful for at least not being completely ignored

Travis and Connor even stole a new pillow for him after a while of him sleeping without any 👏

Soon enough, life was almost normal again (as normal as a demigod’s life could get)

He did live with an imense sense of guilt and had recurring nightmares about what happened, accompanied with sharp pains on his chest, right where he stabbed himself

But it was a small price to pay for all the pain he caused, he thought

Eventually, he became head counselor of the Herme��s cabin again and Chiron gave him permission to teach sword lessons to the newest campers.

Life was as good as it could get for him, for sure

Though it definitely got a million times better with you in it

You were one of the new campers, practically Luke’s age when you arrived, which got yourself urgent self defense lessons with Mr. Castellan himself

He was the ideal person for the job, being the best swordsman on camp and all

Chiron also knew Luke had a way of making newcomers feel welcomed, being used to do it with practically every new kid in camp before the war

So, as Luke made his way to your first lesson, he tried to come up with a way to politely ask you how you survived all this time without proper training-

Only to give it up as soon as he laid his eyes on you

Of course you were a daughter of Aphrodite, you were drop dead gorgeous. Probably survived all this time outside camp by using the power her kids inherited, charmspeak

All of that was going through his head while he intensely stared at you without saying a word 🗿

Making you nervously eye him back 👁️👁️

Noticing you were getting anxious, he snapped out of it, the very tip of his ears getting slightly red

Quickly introducing himself as your new self defense teacher, he offered a hand for you to shake

To which you did after a bit of an awkward pause, nodding at his words. He seemed like a confident, nice guy

He took it you were a bit shy so he made sure to try and not to make you uncomfortable while teaching you some basic sword moves and techniques

You were doing your best to keep up but honestly felt like straight up dying everytime Luke asked you to repeat a move

The sword was heavy and the afternoon was hot, making you sweat profusely

That’s when everything went downhill :)

Your glasses just wouldn’t stay still in your face, the sweat making them slip down your nose every time you tried a new move

Right as you were about to swing your sword for the millionth time, your glasses fully fell off your face, making you flail the big weapon around uncontrollably

Coincidentally chopping a good amount of Chiron’s tail off, who was just passing by to check on your progress

Chiron promised he needed a new trim anyway, but that didn’t stop you from apologizing almost a thousand times and sitting down with your face buried in your hands

The situation amused Luke profusely, but he could also tell you were seriously beating yourself up about it

So after thinking for a while, he gently tapped you on the arm, showing you small scar he had on his forearm

He told you it was from his first ever sword lesson, but it wasn’t caused by a sword

When you gave him a confused look, he told you it was a consequence of accidentally poking a Pegasus’s bottom with a sharp weapon

You tried not to, but you laughed right at his face

Which made Luke smile as well, you had a cute laugh

After that, you slowly started opening up to your sword teacher, who actually got attached to you pretty quickly

Y’alls friendship was honestly precious oml, he absolutely LIVED for the fact that you were completely unhinged when y’all were alone, which got both of you a lot of inside jokes

When you first made a sexual joke in front of him he was completely shook

You were in the middle of training, making him accidentally cut a whole training doll in half after you said it

Who knew that something like that could come out of a shy person like yourself

He laughed and threw a dirty joke right back at you, but his ears were completely red in the process

The first time he had one of his pain streaks next to you he got really stressed out, not really wanting to talk about the origin of his injury

Partially because it was tremendously hard for him to talk about his past, but also because he was afraid you’d hate him for it

But you never pressured him to say anything, just sat beside him with a hand on his back for support, furrowed brows in concern as you waited for his pain to pass

He absolutely adored you for that

He didn’t feel alone anymore

He’s a naturally attentive person so he can always tell when you’re uncomfortable in social situations, always making sure that everything you’re saying is getting the correct amount of attention, even if he was the only one listening to it

Everyone knew he kind of had a soft spot for you (totally unrelated to the crush he was developing on you)

He always went easy on you at sparring lessons, just to absolutely humiliate whoever was next against him by winning in seconds

He sneaked food into your cabin when you absolutely could not stand eating with everyone else at the dining pavilion

(anyone else would probably get caught in the act and get absolutely wrecked by the harpies, but he was a son of the god of thieves so 😋)

Kept you close during capture the flag, not only to keep an eye on you but also because he absolutely LIVED for the fact that you were more scared of the bugs than the monsters who lived inside the woods

You dealt with the monsters and he jabbed all the bugs on the way, you made a pretty good team

It was pretty obvious he had a thing for you, everyone knew about it but you apparently

I mean, he stole got you a whole deck of mythomagic cards because he knew you were totally obsessed with mythology, the guy was pretty much down bad for you pls 😩

And honestly, you felt the exact same way

It was pretty clear in the way your face got full on red every time he had any type of physical contact with you

He adored it and absolutely did it on purpose just to get a reaction out of you

He wanted to let you know how he felt, he really did

But on top of not wanting to risk your friendship, he was deathly afraid you’d absolutely despise him after you found out about his past

It was only a matter of time anyway, but he was going to avoid it as much as he could

Although you found out way sooner and it went WAY better than he expected

It was a warm night and you were awfully quiet, more than usual

It wasn’t because your social battery went out. No… he knew something was up by the way you hugged yourself tightly, touching your face from time to time

He asked if you wanted to hang out by the beach for a bit, to which you silently agreed

Y’all sat in silence for a while, Luke giving you concerned side eyes from time to time

He eventually spoke up, saying you could talk to him about anything you wanted to, he’d listen

Your eyes watered a bit. You breathed out and eventually told him that some days, you had a bit of trouble accepting your current weight and your acne scars

You told him you were working on it but some days were harder than others

Honestly, he was bamboozled lol

He could never imagine someone as beautiful as you had those kind of insecurities

Before even thinking about it, he said you were absolutely perfect in his eyes

It was the first thing he thought when he met you actually

You almost choked on air bro WHAT

Your face was COMPLETELY red, about to explode🚨

Ears fully red after realizing how he slipped, he quickly continued, telling you that he also understood how you felt

He touched the scar he had on his face, lowering his hand to touch the one on his chest right after

You knew something bad had happened to him. But you also knew he had to tell you on his own terms

You just softly repeated what he told you

“You can talk to me about anything you want to, I’ll listen”

His eyes met yours and you were surprised by how much sadness they held in that moment

He shifted his gaze from you to the sand, taking handfulls of it just to let it fall from his fingers as he told you about his past

He told you everything

“You can… cut contact with me if you want to, I’ll understand-“

He was suddenly interrupted by you hugging him

He was surprised to say the least, arms slowly closing around you after some time as he let out a shaky breath

You both sat like that for a while before you told him that none of what he said changed the way you felt about him, everyone deserved a second chance

He pulled apart from you gently, still holding you close in front of him

“Exactly how do you feel about me?”

You had no choice but to confess, face fully red and straight up stuttering the whole time

He smile was HUGE oh my gods that little shit was enjoying every second of it

When you finished, you were trembling a bit, afraid you just ruined the best friendship you ever had

Rook Literary Device Asks

Allegory: What does Rook dream about?

Luca: His ADHD brain comes up with some WEIRD dreams(again another self-projection on my part here0. Let's see, there was the time he dreamed he was invited to speak in front of the Magisterium, but the chamber was invaded by wisps. The wisps didn't do anything but they did insist on negotiating.

Another time when he was home on holiday as a teenager, he dreamed he found his feet glued to the floor, but the most delicious looking cake was right there on the table….just out of arms' reach.  He will forever be mad that Vitus woke him up before he could problem solve to get that cake.

Luca to Davrin: I had a dream about you last night. Davrin, intrigued with a flirty smirk: "Oh yeah what about? Did I look good?" Luca: Well….you got stronger and all the buttons popped off your shirt. You looked real good there. But then you grew feathers and turned into a griffon. It was…you looked like a griffon and yet I could still tell it was you. It was weird. Davrin: Your brain comes up with some very specific and endearingly odd things. Don't change.

Canelo: If he sleeps at all, and manages to dream they are almost always nightmares which will be answered in the next question. The last time he had a happy dream that he can remember he was 18 and Zenzera and Zafferano were still alive. All the dream entailed was him being able to save enough money to quit s*x work and get them a small cabin outside Treviso and he was able to support his family by hunting and setting up a market stall to sell his surplus catch

Valrys: If they could dream…skeleton rave, no doubt. Skeletons would be wearing shutter shades, glow sticks, the necropolis would be a banging party.

Or being surrounded by cute baby animals they could pet

Valo-Asaara: The most innocent dreams most of the time. Dreams of a nice day at the beach, playing with dogs, doing things with his friends.

He has layers, but he is not complex. What you see is what you get and it is the same in his dreams

Repetition: What are Rook’s nightmares? Did/does this change with age?

Luca: Birds. All his nightmares ever either involve birds (He has been terrified of the things since he was small and a neighbor's chickens attacked him) or being given away by his family- This one has not happened since he was a kid. As an adult, he has overcome this fear of abandonment, even though his relationship with his mother rattles the chains on that box he puts the fear in. However, he routinely has this one nightmare where everyone actually does hate him instead of his RSD as a result of his ADHD just saying they do.

Canelo: Most of his dreams are nightmares. And it's generally the same two over and over.

Reliving his SA before joining the Crows or seeing Zaffa's limp and lifeless hand fall off the stretcher and out from under the sheet that had been draped over him, his hand just dangling back and forth taunting him- from there his mind spirals and makes up events to fill in the blanks and it is always heart-rending.

He wakes up crying and sweating every time

Valrys: If they could have nightmares it would be of something bad happening to their chosen family, a great evil attacking the Grand Necropolis, though they imagine they would also have a night mare of Ghili'nain actually killing Lace instead of just wrapping her up in that creepy tentacle.

Valo-Asaara: For as happy as he is, he does have the occasional nightmare about losing his parents, or how he imagined they died. He doesn't know much about avalanches, but he assumes they got bludgeoned by debris (instead of the more likely suffocating under snow that is too packed in for them to crawl free). He also has a fairly frequent recurring dream where those he cares about realize his lack of smarts is more trouble than he's worth. Big fear of inadequacy here.

Omniscient: Are there any secrets Rook is hiding? From others? From themselves?

Luca: Yes, I know it seems counterintuitive but his vanity stems from low self-esteem, which is a result from vastly different levels of parental affection. His mother, a soporatus in a family full of mages was treated terribly(physical and emotional abuse), and grew up insecure. In an inverse of that, Luca is the only mage in a family of Soporati (all Charon's family are soporati) and she keeps her contact with her family light (their social position helped Charon get a chance at higher military ranks. She knows her family [Charon and the three kids] quality of life depends on her maintaining this affiliation). Though it wasn't her intention, she passed that insecurity onto Luca through her words and treatment of him (nothing like what her family did to her physically)

So with that context, Luca has tried his whole life since his magic manifested to gain her love and acceptance, and he feels no matter what he does it is doomed to fail.  He doesn't really like himself, but he wakes up each morning and tells himself, "Everyone does NOT hate you," and continues to keep making a difference as best he can. But he is embarrassed by this insecurity so he keeps it to himself. Davrin and Neve have caught on though.

Valrys: They are envious that Lace got magic from touching that dagger, when they are also a Dwarf and nothing happened to them when they first touched it. They have wanted magic all their life. Yes, they love and support Lace through learning about her new magic, but they just really wish they'd been gifted some too.

Valo-Asaara: I think Valo is very bad at keeping secrets. It's too complicated, so the only secret he'd be keeping would be that he truly thinks Viago hates him but is too afraid to ask. So,  he just keeps it to himself every time he sees him.

Canelo: He is a whole vault of secrets. In time he tells a lot of them to the Veilguard. That he lived on the streets for a while, that he raised his siblings from the time they were two and he was 15, that they were all orphans, that they are now dead, that he was recruited to the Crows because he unknowingly killed Viago's target in self-defense, that he used to be a prostitute. He tells all secrets but one.

When he explained that he got his scar in that fight where he killed the guy, he just says it was a fight and that he killed the guy with garden tools that were nearby. He keeps the fact it wasn't just a fight, but a sexual assault as well that resulted in Canelo going ham on the guy. Only Viago knows the truth of this, and that is because he happened upon the scene as it was happening, but wasn't able to get close enough to help before Canelo killed the Noble himself. Viago was there for the aftermath and kept pressure on Canelo's chest and neck so he couldn't bleed out while he called for the Crow that had been following as guard for Viago (at his insistence) to get help.

Canelo may eventually tell Lucanis this. Or he may take it to his grave. He hasn't decided yet

Archetype: Describe what another character might notice about your Rook physically.

Luca: That is he is BIG for a human. I've said before, he's the height of some Qunari, and though a mage he is broad. It's the main reason he focused in battle magic. His size is literally the first thing people notice about him

See look. Davrin has muscle. He's tall for an elf, and Luca just looks soooo much bigger than him

Valrys: That they are really talented at makeup. No matter what gender they are presenting, their eye makeup is always on point. As seen below

Valo-Asaara:  If they can get past the fact he's a giant, it's his eyes. They are so pale grey they almost colorless. He gets a lot of compliments on them.

Canelo: Depends on what part of him they see first. If they don't notice the hair, and he's wearing his Tiddies out for Thedas Armor (The Invitation), they notice the scar. If he's wearing something else, it's the jaw so sharp it could cut glass. And if they don't notice that, it's likely that what they thought were blue eyes were actually blue with brown centers

Onomatopoeia: Describe how Rook speaks.

Valo-Asaara: Has no inside voice. Man is a golden retriever in person form. He's full of energy and that transfers into his voice which is booming. Okay, he does have an inside voice, it's just louder than most peoples. He has an odd Antivan accent mixed with a little bit of a Seheron one from when he lived there and the Par Vollen one of his parents. It confuses people when they first meet them.

Valrys:  They're eloquent  and very good with words. If a voice could sound diplomatic, that would be what they have. Their  accent, I think the Grand Necropolis is so insular, that it might have its own dialect of Nevarran and its own accent. Since they were raised in the place that is the accent they have. But also when they want to get the point across succinctly, they suddenly start speaking VORGOTH.

Luca: It's a deeper voice, but not too deep. And I think, given that he's from Ventus/Qarinus, he might have a similar accent to Dorian's father (I like to pretend, Dorian purposely lost his own Ventus accent in order to further distance himself from his parents). He speaks like he's received an lengthy education, but not to the point of being pretentious. He's just choosy with his words. But there is also a lilt to his voice as well. He relies a lot on charm.

Canelo: Ever heard of the trope "Vocal Dissonance"? Ever watch the Dragon Prince and hear Aaravos speak? That  face with that voice? Yeah Canelo has that super deep voice going on but with a thick Antivan accent with a very pretty face. His voice VERY much does not match his face. Lucanis likes to describe it as dark honey stirred into black coffee.

More about the other victors & chapter 16

They're a little strange, but I'm pretty sure neither of them is going to try to make me uncomfortable by stripping naked.

Again, Katniss is not a sexual being yet. She is most comfortable with Beetee, Wiress and Mags because she understands those type of relationships. Also the three of them are awsome.

I glance around the Training Center. Peeta is at the center of a ribald circle of knife throwers. The morphlings from District 6 are in the camouflage station, painting each other's faces with bright pink swirls. The male tribute from District 5 is vomiting wine on the swordfighting floor. Finnick and the old woman from his district are using the archery station. Johanna Mason is naked again and oiling her skin down for a wrestling lesson. I decide to stay put.

Peeta is much better with people, all kinds of people. Katniss doesn't know what to do with naked people. So she stays with the nerds.

I want to know what Finnick and Mags talk about at the archery station.

I feel bad, knowing that their district must have suffered much worse than ours. I feel I need to defend my people.

Here's a chicken or the egg question. Are the victors from 3 and 4 rebels because their districts are rebellious. Or are the districts rebellious because their victors are?

Plutarch Heavensbee in the magnificent purple robe with the fur-trimmed collar that designates him as Head Gamemaker. He's eating a turkey leg.

I don't know why I find it hilarious that he's eating a turkey leg, but I do. I am imagining one of those rlly big ones from fairs and stuff.

When we make our way into the dining area, I see some of Peeta's gang have other ideas. They're dragging all the smaller tables to form one large table so that we all have to eat together. Now I don't know what to do. Even at school I used to avoid eating at a crowded table. Frankly, I'd probably have sat alone if Madge hadn't made a habit of joining me.

I wonder whose idea this was. I suspect Chaff. But we can see some of the school versions of Katniss and Peeta. He was always with a group from the town kids. She prefers to be alone.

Chaff doesn't seem as bad at lunch. He's sober, and while he talks too loud and makes bad jokes a lot, most of them are at his own expense. I can see why he would be good for Haymitch, whose thoughts run so darkly. But I'm still not sure I'm ready to team up with him.

This description of Chaff reminds me of my dad. He's a people-person and feels the need to entertain everyone all the time. (It can be exhausting and I can see why someone as introverted and inhibited as Katniss would be put off.) But the fact that he makes an effort to seek out Haymitch--who pushes everyone away--makes me love him. You know Haymitch says mean stuff to him and he just laughs it off.

After lunch I do the edible-insect station with the District 8 tributes--Cecelia, who's got three kids at home, and Woof, a really old guy who's hard of hearing and doesn't seem to know what's going on since he keeps trying to stuff poisonous bugs in his mouth.

I think Woof knows exactly what he's doing when he puts poisonous bugs in his mouth.

Finnick appears again when I'm picking up fishing tips, but mostly just to introduce me to Mags, the elderly woman who's also from District 4. Between her district accent and her garbled speech--possibly she's had a stroke-- I can't make out more than one in four words. But I swear she can make a decent fishhook out of anything--a thorn, a wishbone, an earring. After a while I tune out the trainer and simply try to copy whatever Mags does. When I make a pretty good hook out of a bent nail and fasten it to some strands of my hair, she gives me a toothless smile and an unintelligible comment I think might be praise. Suddenly I remember how she volunteered to replace the young, hysterical woman in her district. It couldn't be because she thought she had any chance of winning. She did it to save the girl, just like I volunteered last year to save Prim. And I decide I want her on my team.

Do we thinks Mags did have a stroke? I have a headcanon that she's had a speech impediment her whole life but that's just in the imaginary Mags story I write in my head.

In fact, I feel as if I've somehow been initiated into the victors' circle. During the next two days, I spend time with almost everybody headed for the arena. Even the morphlings, who, with Peeta's help, paint me into a field of yellow flowers.

Yellow flowers again.

Mags, who I can understand a little better now, decides she's just going to take a nap.
