I know I don’t owe any of you anything but I still felt compelled to write about my long term absence. And I feel far enough away from the dangerous spot I was in to be able to make this comic. I have a therapist now, and she agreed that making this could be a very cathartic gesture, and the start of properly leaving these thoughts behind me. I am still, at seemingly random times, blindsided by fleeting desires to kill myself. They’re always passing urges, but it’s disarming, and uncomfortable. I worry sometimes that my brain’s spent so long thinking only about suicide that it’s forgotten how to think about anything else. Like, now that I've opened that door for myself, I'll never be able to fully shut it again. But I’m trying my best to encourage my mind in other directions. We'll see how that goes.

I am still donating all proceeds from my store to Palestinian causes. So far, I've donated over $15K, not including donations coming from my own pocket or the fundraising streams which jointly raised around $10K. In the time since I made my initial post about where this money would be going, the focus has shifted from aid organisations to directly donating to escape funds.

If you'd like to do the same, you can look at Operation Olive Branch, which hosts hundreds of Palestinian escape funds or donate to Safebow, which has helped facilitate the safe crossing and securing of important medical procedures for over 150 at-risk palestinians since the beginning of the genocide.

This is kinda revolutionary? Just a few years ago destiel was queerbaiting fans to superhell but now? NOW? A show saw the fans HC a character as queer with valid evidence and instead went "you know what? You're right. We didn't originally plan this for them but we see you". Then four episodes into the season, canonized his queerness. Not the last second, Not the last Episode. the BEGINNING of the season, with time to expand AND we know we're getting another season after this. Just look how far we've come.

It's so genius that Inside Out 2 uses Anxiety as an antagonising character that opposes Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger without making her an antagonist, or villain. She is trying to protect Riley just like they are, but she is so caught up in her own ways that she doesn't see the bigger picture. And that's exactly what anxiety feels like.

When she realises this, it causes a panic attack (which is also beautifully depicted) and she spirals.

Anxiety is a genius character, and it is so important to me that the other emotions don't attempt to push her out of Headquarters or out of Riley's life but instead find ways of coping with her.

Because Anxiety shouldn't control your life, but she will still be in your life. And it is possible to live with anxiety.

Everything about The book of Bill and Journal 3 and Stanford Pines' backstory fascinate me, because WDYM the lore and backstory for this children's show where two siblings have Scooby-Doo style mystery adventures all summer and there are multiple gags about the town making it legal to marry animals, is a Sci-fi psychological magnus archives/return to night vale style horror about one isolated barely restrained mad scientist with good intentions and a list of baggage a mile long who gets into metaphorical (and maybe literal(!!!!!)) bed with what is basically an eldritch horror-beyond-human-comprehension being, literally worships and devotes himself to that horror as his god at times, and sorta even loves him, until he realizes that the god he made his house and body into an an altar for is not a benevolent one, and he tries to severe ties with him.

But it's too late, the god is equally as obssessed with him, he made a home of his mind, and he's not letting him go, and even though the horror might even love him back, and in a twist it might even be the one of the most horrifying cases of the "one fell first, one fell harder" trope, it is still cruel and not above unleashing torment on his former devotee to get what he wants.

And then looking back on the scientist life, you also see that he's been haunted by symbols of what would become his god and betrayer literally since birth.

AND WDYM THE WHOLE THING IS (rightly, because it's a children's show and they are not the main characters) BARELY HINTED IN THE SHOW

hey for a moment think abt the fact that marcille’s healing for everyone has been extremely painful on their end bc its always her just sort of brute forcing the regeneration so that it is functional as as fast as possible and requires as no more energy than what is necessary. laios had that huge scar wrapped around the healed sever that itched continuously, maybe bc of nerve damage? and chilchuck screamed when she healed his head bc it hurt that bad!

ok now get devastated when you think abt when marcille brings fallin back, literally weaving her muscle together and forging her from flesh and blood, theres no pain for fallin afterward. marcille was so careful when putting her back together, poured everything that she knew about her into that spell. she was replicating details abt falin that she didnt even consciously remember, with an accuracy and familiarity like falin is something she has studied before and took great pains to memorize.

literally no one makes gay characters like neil gaiman. he just wakes up in the morning like "time to make a gay little guy" and then i go look at the guy and i'm like "this is definitely a gay little guy" without fail. truly no one does it like him.
