WIP Wednesday 🏥

My brain is still taking a vacation after the mammoth that is Rival Firefighters 🚒 (she’s 85K people), but here’s a little something I’ve been very slowly chipping away at from LA Lonely 🏙 (it’s rough and from the notes app on my phone sooo please be kind 😅)

They’ve just handed off a teenager with a TB fracture after a failed attempt at parkour, when Eddie sweeps through the ER doors making a beeline for the nurses station.

He looks harried, his posture rigid and tense, tripping the alarm bells in Buck’s head, their siren sounding out Chris Chris Chris.

“Hey Bobby, can you give me a minute?” he hooks his thumb over his shoulder towards Eddie and some of his worry must be bleeding through because Bobby’s brow furrows in concern before he gives Buck a nod. “Thanks Cap.”

Buck jogs over to Eddie who is tapping his fingers restlessly against the counter of the nurses station.

“Eddie!”

Eddie startles and turns to face him. “Buck?”

“Are you okay? Is Chris —“

“Chris and I are fine.” Eddie reassures him and Buck feels his next breath come easier with the weight of fear no longer crushing his chest. Eddie runs a hand through his hair, his shoulders dropping with a shaky exhale. “My Abuela fell while watching Chris. I’ve been trying to get some kind of support for him, but there’s so much red tape and Abuela insisted she was fine watching him. I should’ve put my foot down and told her no, figured something else out.”

“Hey,” Buck places a hand on Eddie’s shoulder, ducking his head to catch Eddie’s eyes, “this isn’t your fault.”

“Then why does it feel like it is?”

There’s so much guilt swimming in Eddie’s eyes and Buck wishes he had the right words to say to alleviate some of it.

last year i had the fun opportunity to draw for the quodo valentines minifest, and while I didn't draw anything this year, here are some leftover quodos I'd done then to get a better hang of drawing the pair.

i'd planned to make the last two into a comic about quark getting stood up on a date (with a happy ending), but i,,,didn't finish, so now it's just. sad quark hrs. whoops! (sorry quark)

i love seeing the love that au creators have for the og undertale,,,,,, like you can see it in the way that SAS balances the pacing and characterization of og undertale with horrortale's themes and story direction!!!! you can see it in the several tweets calvateyla has just rambling about sans and undertale its so amazing and heartwarming to me 😭😭😭 like that's how i know that these aus were made with love and care for the creativity of the og game and added onto it with their own creativity ITS SO SWEET!!!! ITS SO SWEET!!!!!!

#i dont even care that much for og undertale anyways but i can recognize peak when i see peak #i didnt mention rahafwabas or killer yet because i've yet to look at any of his canon content for my archiving :3 #(when i archive his shit ILL ALSO DO MY KILLER ANALYSIS ALONGSIDE IT!!!! HOPEFULLY XP)#but anyways i think this also adds onto why i love so much how the mtt are all continuation aus of sans undertale too #i know their aus are more than this simplification but if you simplify the mtt to BAREBONES (haha pun)#all the mtt are are just 3(well 5 but idk about the missing dusttale creators) people's different takes on 'sans but bad'#AND NO i dont think each are done well. all of them have their own reasons as to why they act so different from sans but also so similarly #and i love that. in each of the mtt you can see what makes them a SANS continuation #but also what makes them a sans CONTINUATION #you can see the connection to og undertale that the creators made sure to put the effort into keeping #but also the distinct difference and special touch of their own ideas!!!! which i love 💙💜❤️💙💜❤️💙💜❤️#i think it's most obvious with horror since horrortale is VERY MUCH SO a massive fucking parallel to undertale #but its also clear with dust and there's also parts of this connection in killer too #uaghahahahaha i love creativity i love the mtt i have so much respect for their creators theyre literally my biggest idols and inspirations #tricule rant

Torn between the feeling that the pace of 23.5 degrees is good and nothing feels rushed, and the knowledge that we're already at the halfway mark of the series and we still have quite a journey before us so we might not get enough time to enjoy both relationships because we're not getting more time here (while at the same time trusting the director to not disappoint me because she hasn't so far). How do I sort out all these conflicting emotions? 😅

im so sorry i never saw the notification for this message since the tumblr app is horrible and hates all good things.

BUT i hope that maybe yesterday's episode helped sort out some of the conflicted feelings about pacing since we still have 6 episodes and everything is out in the open now? which means 6 episodes of focusing on nothing but these relationships without the pretense of earth getting in the way! them not dragging the reveal out to episode 7 was really a pleasant surprise for me personally and it has opened up the potential for the back half of the season significantly!

honestly tho, i do get it and i do also sometimes get feelings like this about shows i so desperately want to be as good as they can be and i have found that really the only thing to do is step back, relax and enjoy the ride. even if in the end it's not fully what you hoped for, getting stuck on that before hand can really take away from just simply enjoying what you do get; so sometimes it's just an exercise in trying to go mind empty and just enjoying what's on screen happening and not bothering with what's to come (which does takes practice lmao).
