I dunno if saying "Bastard child" is a tw but it's just me saying that they weren't married when they had Cirius.

We met in the springtime when blossoms unfold

Cirius' parents had just met... They fell in love almost instantly.. He claimed he'd never fall in love.

The pastures were green and the meadows were gold

But she claimed that she'd help him figure out his emotions. He hid his love from her..

Our love was in flower as summer grew on

When he confessed, they were together for a year, and had a bastard child. Cirius was born.

Her love like the leaves now have withered and gone

A few years after Cirius was born, she got ill... Cirius was only 5, almost 6, when his mother passed away...

The roses have faded, there's frost at my door

His father couldn't cope with his love's death...

The birds in the morning don't sing anymore

Soon, in the winter when Cirius was 6, his father grabbed his own gun,

The grass in the valley is starting to die

And when Cirius came into his father's room, there was blood splattered on the walls.

And out in the darkness the whippoorwills cry

Cirius ran out and dialed 9-1-1, sobbing and pleading for help.

He explained how his father had shot himself and he was sobbing the whole time.

The paramedics arrived at his house but... His father couldn't be saved.

His father passed when he was only 6.

When Cirius was 16 he started working at Étincelle coffeehouse.

She may have forsaken some other like me

He met a few nice people but... Regardless of having those friends and co-workers..

She promised to honor, to love, and obey

He still felt alone.

Each vow was a plaything that she threw away

It was 4 years of working in the coffee shop and he payed for a decent apartment...

The darkness is falling, the sky has turned gray

He would still feel alone no matter who he was around.

A hound in the distance is starting to bey

He would always wonder how his parents would act if they saw him,

I wonder, I wonder what she's thinking of

Like he was? Working at a coffeehouse.. in an apartment alone..

Forsaken, forgotten without any love

No girlfriend... Not even a roommate.

He didn't feel alone. He made a friend. And he didn't feel alone anymore.

Cats of ReefClan

Some designs I had made for a now defunct file. All of the cats except for Cavemist were renamed by me lmao, I wanted the names to be on theme. Ospreykit became a warrior and I named her Ospreydusk, Pelicankit became Cavemist’s medicine cat apprentice (decided by the RNG) and I named him Pelicandawn.

The story I had made was that these cats were originally from a clan called CliffClan, but their territory was made unlivable by Twolegs and a fire broke out that had killed the majority of the clan. These 7 jumped into the sea below the cliff and stayed afloat on a fallen tree, eventually washing up on a faraway shore. Seaspray was made leader at only 16 moons because he was the son of CliffClan’s leader, Galestar.

My inspiration for the story came from the song Alone and Forsaken by Hank Williams.

The file is now defunct because at some point Seastar’s personality changed to bloodthirsty and I hadn’t realized until after I had saved over it and the story turned an entire 180 degrees and I just hated how it ended up. But I had already drawn these up and I really liked how they turned out so I’m posting them anyway.

I`ve been rewatching the car scene from episode 4 and there`s that moment just after “Alone And Forsaken” starts to play when Joels face changes completely. There is something so soft about this expression, he`s not quite smiling, but his face relaxes, he closes his eyes and he looks like he got lost in a memory. And you can see it’s a good one, a safe one. To me that would suggest that it was something from way before.

Because thats a face of a person that got reminded of something from his childhood. Something half-forgotten until someone brings it up and you remember it as vividly as if it was yesterday. Every texture, every sound and every smell. And you can’t help, but smile, cause it was so long ego, but also not really, you`re still the same person. And music is like magic, it`s the only time machine we have, works every time!

And that got me thinking! If this music is from before Joel`s time, is it possible it`s something his father used to listen to? His favorite road trip music maybe? And Joel was the one in the backseat, just like Ellie is now, going crazy from boredom, asking a million questions, waving at the passing cars or making crazy faces and then hiding? And then when Tommy was old enough was it both of them playing or fighting and driving their father mad in a process?

It breaks my heart in the best way because this is just the beginning of Joels journey and hes changed so much already, to the point hes able to access this small part of himself and it makes him feel soft, even if just for a second.  Makes him think about a time everything was simpler, sweeter, kinder? Somehow those memories survived all those years completely unscathed, as if they`ve existed in a protective bubble untouched by anything that came after. They`ve formed their own little universe where Joel`s small hands knew nothing of violence or survival yet, just toys and ice cream cones. Nothing of the nightmares to come, just a moving car, his dad`s favorite song and his little brother annoying the hell out of him. A small moment preserved forever on the Hank Williams cassette tape.

hating on other music genres, especially country, for literally no reason does not make you cool… it just makes you look silly and disrespectful! i am not saying you should force yourself to enjoy country, not saying everyone likes country at all! all i’m saying is that disrespecting a music genre and acting as if there are not some objectively very good songs in said genre is just dumb! there will be at least one song in almost every single music genre that is deserving of objective respect, deserving of recognition for the general talent it holds wether it be in the vocals, mixing, samples, instrumental and so on…

so yeah… i don’t know! i just get annoyed seeing people talk shit about a music genre for no real reason other than “ i do not like it ” and even more so when they’ve only ever listened to about one song from the genre! especially fellow metal fans because metal fans should know more than anyone how different songs in a single genre can sound to each other…

if i ever see anyone on my timeline like “ lol country music bad ” it will lead to an instant block and i am dead serious! you will always catch me listening to some country whilst wearing a darkthrone shirt… aye-yay-yipee-yi-o, cunt!
