dani is sitting in her seat at the SAP Center waiting for the game to start, and she sees someone in an orange jersey making their way to their seat. she doesn't think it's out of the ordinary, anahiem isn't too far away so she gets how some anahiem fans would be there.

she turns to give a short smile to the person and sees that it's her best friend, eden. she jumps up and tackles eden into a hug. she squeals, "omg! what are you doing here? i've missed you!"

"i texted will. i figured i could make the time to come up to see you when our boyfriends play each other. needed some dani time."

dani is smiling from ear to ear the whole time with eden. she's missed her bestie, and even though they talk everyday. and after the game, dani went down and gave will a big hug. she says in his ear when they hug, "thank you for getting eden a ticket. i needed some girl time."

"anything for you dani. always." will says holding his girl close.

they meet up with cutter and eden before the ducks needed to leave. dani hugs cutter, "good to see you bro. thanks for keeping an eye on my girl for me."

cut smiles, "always." and pulls eden close. will pulls dani into his side and the 4 of them catch up quickly. dani leans her head on will's chest as they catch up with their closest friends before mack comes over. he says, "hey what's up?"

dani groans, "go away you gremlin."

everyone laughs and eden says, "you must be macklin. i'm eden, ive heard a lot about you from dani." mack raises his eyebrows with a smile, "awww so you do like me!"

dani pouts and hides her face in will's chest. she mumbles, "i hate all of you." will kisses her head and tightens his hold on her. cutter says, "i gotta go, but i will see you guys soon hopefully."

cutter kisses eden and heads back to his team. eden then says, "yea i gotta head back too. i have a game tomorrow so i will see you soon." and then mack, dani, and will head back together to their apartment. will is driving with dani in the passenger seat and mack in the back. will is holding dani's hand and mack says, "who even was that with cutter?"

"that is eden hughes. she's my best friend, and the younger sister to quinn, jack, and luke. and is cutter's girlfriend." dani explains. mack nods, "she's nice. reminds me a lot of allie."

dani and will smile and exchange a glance of "poor baby is in love." a feeling will knows all too well after pining for dani for two years.

Welcome to how I thing some of the brothers would embarrass our au girls.

The Hughes boys: honestly with Gracie all they gotta do is tease her about how in love with Elias she is and they’ve got her right where they want her. But with Aspen they baby her because she’s just their baby sister. With Maya though nothing is better than straight up telling John about the crushes she’s gone through. Darcy has no poker face so the boys tell EVERYONE how she was scared of the dark and used to end up in Quinn’s bed in tears when she was small.

Sidney Crosby: Charlotte is his little sister so he’s always going to baby her but the true way to embarrass her is by telling Jake all about how he’s never seen his sister so in love with a guy, well ignoring all the older hockey players she used to have crushes on as their posters would be in her room.

The Tkachuk brothers: with Camille they just bring up now there was times in her life where she thought Sidney had fallen out of love with her at the beginning and what if she realised she loved him too late. With Blair honestly they just make her mushy by telling her all about how much they love her, it gives Trevor a chance to see she really would love him if he was a worm.

The Duke brothers: Allie is their usual leader but it is easy for them to tell Luke that she’s so clearly always had a crush on him and her face instantly turns to a bright red tomato.

Cole Caufield: Kennedy actually used to have a crush on Trevor when she was a teenager, much to the dismay of Jack (especially when they weren’t talking) but now he too reminds her of it when Trevor pisses her off.

The Fantilli brothers: all they have to do is refer to Marisa as a cougar and she’s throwing pillows at them telling them to fuck off.

Seamus Casey: Victoria had a past of acne and braces all whilst she had a crush on the captain of their highschool basketball team. She once went to a game and ended up with a broken nose because he threw a ball that ended up hitting her, she never went back and Seamus never let her live that one down.

Nico Hischier: with Mila he just babies her, teasing her about certain things will always get a giggle out of Jack and a glare out of her.

In honor of my birthday in June, I decided to host a bingo event again.

The old event cannot be found due to me literally deleting my old blog and starting from scratch.

For those you who do remember last year’s event, I basically took the same board and changed a few things.

Rules:

You do not need to get a perfect bingo (5 squares in a row, column, or diagonal)

You can choose any 5 squares you want

Bonus challenges: totally optional but you can also choose one of the following special types of bingo (I do not expect anyone to do any of these): four corners, inner box (around free space), outer box (top and bottom rows plus both the far left and far right columns), any box of 4 (2x2 box anywhere on the board), X (both diagonals), and + (center column and center row)

Obviously the squares you choose will drive the story, but I am pretty open to genres, including smut (I am turning 27)

I prefer reader inserts now a days but if you are an oc person, I will gladly accept oc fics. I want to be inclusive in terms of types of writing. Obviously not in terms of players since there are just some players I refuse to read for.

No word count minimum (or maximum) but preferably longer than a blurb especially if you fit 4+ squares in one story

10 quirks of dating Quinn Hughes

Of course, Lovie!! I’ll do it for any player :)

Quinn is a heavy sleeper often. So much that YOU are the one having to wake him for practices, gamed, and events. For having such heavy eye baggage–mans easily sleeps 11 hours a day. Don’t even think about how much he sleeps during the off-season ☠️

Quinn’s love language is physical touch. PDA is practically his middle name. He’s always got his hand on the small of your back, head on your shoulder, if he could always be carrying you he would.

Quinn is a lover of cheesy nicknames. He will NEVER admit it, but if you call him huggy, quinner, bear, or smoochkins….he’s melting.

Quinn is an “evening shower“ person. And he can shower easily for 20 mins. Although…it’s longer if you join him ;)

Huggy smells like basil and tea tree oil. Plus his cologne is definitely a mix of either Tom Ford Tuscan leather or Bleu De Chanel. It’s very nice to cuddle up to. He leaves plenty of his clothes for you just because he knows how much you love his cologne.

Quinn is a stay-in date person. Wether you are “stay-in” or “go-out” he will accommodate but eh–he’d rather spend the evening curled up watching a movie laying on your stomach and you play with his hair.

Quinn runs cold. He is constantly putting his cold hands down the back of your shirt. It’s caused many harmless arguments.

Dogs over cats in your household. You have one cat and one dog but Quinn easily wants 2 more dogs. You have to be the voice of reason there.

Speaking of “the voice of reason”, Quinn never fails to bring you into family conversations. You can’t count how many times you have had to tell Luke not to say “ I love you” on the first date with a new girl or tell Jack not to get a buzz cut mullet. Doing the lords work

Quinn’s family started calling you the daughter-in-law/ sister-in-law as soon as you settled into the family. That’s why the Hughes boys became so protective so fast. Quinn tells everyone (including you) how well you fit. “You were made to be a hughes! Er um–if you wanna be.”

petey would be no help he knew how to deal with his girl but Elias's caretaking skills didn't extend beyond that

she also sent him her soup recipe that she would make for him and his brothers when they were sick growing up

would he ruin the first pot of soup, yes, but he would manage to make it

when you woke up he had a bowl of soup and a cup of lemon tea ready for you

(his mom told him to make sure that you didn't have coffee until you felt better)

Once he had given you your food she started to become a natural at taking care of you

He ran you a bath while you finished your food

He put your favourite bath bomb in making it a comfy as he could

While you took your bath he found you favourite blanket and put it in the dryer to make it warm and fluffy

He made it so that when you got out of the bath you were as comfortable as possible

Brock Boeser: one of his nicknames is Mr.Sensitive (unless you ask him 😂) plus he has the saddest of sad boi post-loss playlists over on spotify

Elias Pettersson: AKA Pistol Petey! so named for his insane wrist and slap shots. and ofc it’s gotta be in gold - only the best most unnecessarily expensive for our Drip King Petey 😉 im serious tho. the man spent $280 on a flippin t-shirt.

Jake Virtanen: AKA Big Tuna! and uh...i mean i don’t think either chunky nor cornball need to be explained 😂

Quinn Hughes: AKA Huggy Bear! only the best nickname on the nucks roster in my humble (and correct) opinion. everybody say thank you brandon sutter

Bo Horvat: our captain’s full name is actually Bowie - he was named after the musician. the pic is from Bowie’s role in the movie Labyrinth (which, sidenote: everyone should see at least once.  it is... well it sure is something.) the baby made it perfect, as Bo and his wife Holly had their son Gunnar this year

Nils Höglander: okay. so. canucks announcer John Shorthouse has taken to calling nils a “little pepper-pot!”. no one knows why. but he says it lovingly and with admiration. the team has started calling him hog/hoggy. and uh. pepper pot + hoggy gives you? peppa pig!  (if you live in my brain 😂)

Adam Gaudette: oh gauds. my favourite boston greaseball 😌.  so gaudette has a long and proud history of being a massive hoe. then he got married. you would think this would have dimmed his bright beautiful sluttiness - but no! being in love has only compounded his thot ways! so he gets the Iconique Cardi B vine. for video evidence of said ways and also free serotonin please refer to Micaela Kim Gaudette’s tiktok and insta.  also this shirt from the always on point @broadscastpod

Antoine Roussel: AKA Rooster! he is a chirpy french bird with criminal tendencies - currently second on the team in most penalty minutes at 29 (myers has 35, but he also plays roughly twice the minutes roussel has per game) basically rooster is our brad marchand, but with less intent to injure.  also less licking.

Alex Edler: his nickname is eagle. that’s it that’s the explanation 😂. although, if i could have found a pic of a grizzled elderly eagle i would’ve gone with that, as the team delights in reminding him he is (in hockey years) a full on grandpa

Braden Holtby: our newest canuck is - when at his best - a solid brick wall in the net. he and his awesome wife brandi are also LGBT allies 🌈❤️�� hence the rainbow brick wall (he also chose not to visit the white house after winning the cup, alongside teammates Devante-smith Pelly and Brent Connelly, and he puts his money were his mouth is)

Tyler Motte: love of my hockey life. short king. mental /health /advocate. Champion of the Penalty Kill. I will eventually get to the explanation i just love him a lot. we motter fans are a small but passionate few. okay so fans have bestowed the nickname of Applesauce on account of the applesauce brand Mott’s. afaik this is a fan only nickname and the team just calls him motter.    

and last but certainly not least

Zack Macewen: aka Zack Attack! Mac Attack! the man comes in like a Mack Truck and defends his teammates like a handsome knight in hockey pads. he’s also a wholesome marshmallow off the ice, elite giver of hugs, and as previously stated, very not hard on the eyes. please refer to @churchofrileytanev ‘s blog for quality zack content.

summary: all the times you’ve made his family feel like yours

one: girl troubles

You two are mid make out session on the couch when the phone rings

“Don’t answer it, it’s probably my mom calling again to ask if you’re coming to Michigan at the end of the season”

You look between the boy beneath you and the phone on the counter “don’t please”

“Quinn it could be an emergency” He releases his grip on your hips and groans “Fine”

You jump up and skid along the wooden floors grabbing the phone “Hello?”

“Luke are you ok?” That catches Quinn’s attention “No, no it’s ok I’m here what’s up?”

He furrows his brows at you as you say “No Q’s not here promise it’s just me”

babe I’m right here, you were actually on top of me a minute ago

He watches you sit on the opposite couch listening content to to his brother on the other end of the phone.

“Oh Luke I’m sorry. She didn’t deserve you if that’s how she’s going to act you deserve better”

It clicked, girl troubles.

“Yeah of course, you know you can always call me whenever you need. Ok take care of yourself bud, bye”

You hung up the phone to see Quinn looking at you with a smile “What?”

“Nothing, now come back over here you left me with a problem I’d like you to sort out” he said grabbing your hips and gesturing to the tent in his shorts

“Gross Q”

“You did it!”

two: broccoli

The two of you had been back in Michigan for a week and Quinn was glad Jack didn’t get in until last night allowing you to have the house just the two of you although his mom had been over to visit you, not him, you almost every day.

Quinn had come in from working out to laughter in the kitchen, waltzing in to investigate what was going on he found you and Jack standing at the island with a chopping board, knives and broccoli.

“What are you guys doing?” Your heads shot up and you smiled bashfully.

“I’m teaching Jack how to cook!” You looked so proud and happy before continuing to explain what you were doing to Jack.

Quinn left you two alone and sat in the livingroom before being called for dinner not long later “Is this going to kill me? Did Jack cook it?”

You scowled before shoving him “Yes he did and no it’s not going to kill you, I taught him well! Taste it!”

He looked at you skeptically before taking a bite, you watched as his face turned from weary to surprised “This is actually good!”

You turned to Jack with a smile and a high five “Way to go J!”

three: big game

Luke had been talking about this game forever. Whenever he was on the phone to Quinn he’d mention it but neither Jack or Quinn could make it due to conflicting schedules along with their parents.

You knew Luke would be bummed out therefore took it upon yourself to fly to Minnesota to see him in the game.

You sat in the stands and watched him play; sending pictures and videos into the family groupchat to update everyone.

When the game was over and everyone was meeting their friends and families in the hallways you spotted Luke coming out, looking around at his friends with their loved ones when his eyes landed on you.

His face lit up coming over to hug you “You came”

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world kiddo”

You’d taken him to dinner afterwards, both of you sitting eating away at your burgers when he looked across the table and said “Thank you for coming, honestly it means the world to me y/n”

four: stand in date

When Jack called frantically asking if you could be his date for an event you didn’t really think twice before agreeing.

You’d bought a dress and showed up at the address he text you, turns out his plan was for you to help make his ex jealous.

You’d done a fairly good job all night playing the part and making her jealous much to Jack’s amusement. You did so well infact that they ended up leaving together leaving you to sleep in Nico’s couch.

He obviously gave you the bed being a gentleman and all. You ended the night with a text from Jack

thanks for tonite I owe you big time

five: mrs hughes

“So if everyone will raise a glass with us in a toast to our sister. y/n you’ve been the best sister we could ask for in our lives always saving our asses and being there for us when you certainly didn’t have to be. We knew Quinn can be a pain in the ass but thanks for tolerating him for us. To the new Hughes!”

Everyone clinked their glasses together and you leaned over kissing Quinn’s cheek before everyone got up to dance and you ended up dancing with Luke “Thanks for the speech kiddo”

“You like it?” “It was cute”

“You really are the best big sister y/n and we are really glad you chose Quinn, you were made for this family”

“Yeah, I guess it’s nice to have such fun little brothers”
