and what's even worse about Loki S2 is they never so much as MENTIONED the alligator
#i mean this both jokingly and very seriously#since they seemed to abandon the variants concept entirely#to the point of forgetting that sylvie's a loki#the lack of alligator symbolises so many issues really#loki s2 negativity#(u have to specify cos some folk hate the whole series. which might actually be why s2 was shite but let's pretend it wasn't that.)

My unending disappointment with Marvel
Well, I just looked through different Tumblr posts about the ending of Loki, and I think I've never been so disappointed about a work of fiction in my life. This ending is probably something I would have loved and thought about for weeks if I was still following what's going on in this show.
Like some people here, I disliked Ragnarok. It was just too much everything, too much humor, the characters were too much, everything was too much for me. It was such a striking contrast with the previous movies that it felt like I wasn't watching a Thor movie anymore. And I think this is my problem with Marvel now: everything is too much. I remember going out of the movies after Endgame and telling myself that 3 hours for this film is way too long. I can barely remember anything today, and it is not good news. By always seeking more CGI and more characters, Marvel creates impersonal movies and series where I can't keep up with all the different stories coming out these days.
They did the same thing with the Loki series. I hate that they had to put many variants of Loki instead of focusing on the original character, who is already so fascinating. I don't give a shit about Sylvie or Alligator Loki, I want to see the Loki I grew interested in. There is a complete disconnection between the first Thor movie displaying an intimate family portrait and this show where you are in the middle of the multiverse with hundreds of variants. I fell in love with the Shakespearean atmosphere of the first movie but I'm pretty much bored out of my mind with the multiverse and all that jazz.
I think Marvel is targeting two very different publics here. I'm not saying people can't like both Thor 1 and the Loki series, but it is definitely not my taste. I want to focus on one character only. Because if so many different people with different backgrounds can be Loki, what does it truly mean to be Loki?
And this is why I'm so disappointed with the end. From what I've read, it feels like it is way more in character than what Marvel gave us since 2018. When I watched the first half of season one two years ago, I remember asking myself who the hell is this guy? I like TH's acting but there it just felt wrong and forced.
Well, I guess I will just read fanfiction again and again until I tire out of this fandom and find another character since some writers do a better job at depicting Loki than the writers of the show themselves.
PS: If someone disagrees with me and wants to reply, please be polite, it is only a fictional character, not a real-life issue!
PPS: In case it isn't clear, I stopped watching in the middle of season 1 so my opinion applies to this part most of all. Maybe it's better in season 2.

*waves arms* I HAVE IDEAS for future Loki things. I briefly thought about writing some fics but lmao I've got enough stuff to write already.
(In the spirit of the MCU taking things from the comics and taming them down) We see Kid Loki from the Void wandering the new branches of Yggdrasil. He is not sure what has happened, and he doesn't know why he has this affinity for walking between the worlds (nice that Loki's Tree could be the reason every Loki is able to walk the "hidden paths"), but he does have The Wanderlust and he is also homeless. His alligator friend has found a magic pond, he Does Not want to return to the Void, his native timeline has been pruned for what, centuries? He's all alone. He has thought about finding a timeline with no Loki but the thought of trying to add himself into a Kid Thor's life makes him feel weird because Unresolved Issues. And then the magpie comes, first in his dreams, then out of them. The magpie talks, and is a trickster, and the Kid calls it Ikol. The magpie tells him they have to retrieve the flaming sword from wherever it was left (hmmm how does Ikol know where it is?)–first adventure–then rescue a lonely Loki, the one that would become Classic Loki after hiding in the asteroid after Infinity War–second adventure, or perhaps the last one, because hey if Thor really had to be stuck with a child, it could have been Kid Loki–and whoa there's so many adventures to be had. If some people ever figured out a Loki can power the whole fucking universe, a smaller one would be a smaller battery but an easier one to get. Ravonna Renslayer could pop up again. Kang, of course. Isn't the MCU gathering Young Avengers? Kid Loki's in the playing field, hooray, can't wait for the bad handling, hooray... wouldn't it be awesome if the "big bad" of the new phases was actually The Loki Who Sits In A Tree Of Time and the TVA trying to stop everyone from causing multidimensional wars, of course it's from the pov of those trying to travel through dimensions so they're not aware it's dangerous and those trying to stop them look evil until the whole picture is revealed to them.
Anyway, on-screen it would've been an easy guess because it would've been voiced by Tom Hiddleston, but Ikol the magpie is in fact the Loki that sits in the Tree, and projects outside of it (didn't Tom Hiddleston say it would be "unwise" to consider Loki's journey done?) to not be lonely and to watch out for the child he'd met. Like in the comics, only the Kid can see him.
The cameos Stan Lee used to do could be Mobius hanging around occasionally talking "to himself" if you know what I mean. I want him randomly dropping by in every single new movie, occasionally together with B15, Casey, Brad Wolfe, Ouroboros or someone else from the TVA.
(The fic title would've been The Kid, The Magpie and The Flaming Sword 👀)

For the second prompt @insert-witty-user-name-here requested for the kiss prompts (“…on a falling tear”) I loved both ideas so much (couldn’t turn down some softness and hurt/comfort) that I did both rather than choosing! Hope you enjoy!
——
(Let’s pretend Mobius knew Loki would be staying behind with Sylvie, rather than being surprised by it, for the ✨drama✨)
——
In any other circumstance, Mobius would be overjoyed with the current situation.
He’s surrounded by more Lokis than he’s ever been around at once, one being the variant he’s been trying to catch (though who he now realizes was right to be running), and another being the one he’s grown close with recently. Also, the alligator, of course—he’s just adorable.
It’s a little mind-melting, to be sure, but it’s somehow not the most pressing issue.
He’d kept it together in front of the new crew of Lokis, but his mind has been screaming at him for (what passes for) hours by now. His life was a lie. All of it, from his very creation, to his existence and the existence of a life that he was plucked from, to his friendship with Ravonna.
And now, he’s preparing himself to bid Loki and Sylvie and the new Loki crew goodbye and return to the TVA to dismantle it.
He leans up against the outside of the pizza car, a decent distance from the little shack but not so far it is out of sight or out of reach. He scrubs his hands across his face, feeling how stubble is already poking out from his cheeks due to not shaving this morning– he’d been called while still in bed to be shown that they’d rediscovered Loki and Sylvie.
He tries to take deep breaths in and out, the technique that Ravonna of all people taught him once to relax when in the field, but he finds the breaths out to be rather shaky.
“Mobius.”
Mobius glances over the car and sees Loki on the other side, standing a bit awkwardly, which is rare for him, usually the picture of confidence (whether feigned or real.) His hands are shoved deep in the pockets of his worn TVA-issued pants, and he dips his head against the gusts of wind that pop up at random.
“Hey, Loki,” Mobius manages a smile, though it feels mostly fake even to him, so he’s not sure why he expects it to fool his god of lies.
Loki comes around to his side of the car, and sidles up next to Mobius until their shoulders are pressed together. Mobius revels in the comfort it instantly provides. He’s always been a fairly tactile person but Loki’s ability to so smoothly put him at ease is new but not unwelcome.
“You okay?” Loki whispers, bumping their touching shoulders slightly.
“Just… shaken, I guess. With all the revelations,” Mobius murmurs, tilting his head to the sky. “Guess that’s my karma for forcing you and so many others to watch your own reels and causing existential crises,” Mobius chuckles humorlessly.
“Mobius, no. You were a victim of the TVA, you didn’t deserve any of this even if you did it to others.”
“Wow, you’re actually against some clear-cut vengeance? You’ve had a turn around, yeah?” This time the laugh Mobius lets out is soft and at least slightly more genuine.
“Well, I was recently told I could be anyone, even someone good. Thought I’d give that a try.”
Mobius smiles softly, before dropping his eyes to meet Loki’s careful gaze. Loki is searching Mobius’ expression, clearly trying to read him and decide his next actions.
Mobius glances away from Loki only because he can’t stand to see such soft and confused yet genuine care. Mobius knows the moments of Loki showing his true gentleness that isn’t hidden behind a trick or evasion is rare, and while he’s grateful to be a recipient, he doesn’t have the strength to accept it right now.
Loki has become such a constant for him recently, turning his entire life on its axis, not just with revealing the truth but just by challenging him and his approaches and ideas, being a clever and surprisingly reliable ally.
And Loki was supposed to be pruned from the start, he wasn’t supposed to help this long or this much, and they definitely weren’t supposed to get so close, but now Mobius can’t imagine taking on the next challenge alone.
He takes in another breath and winces when it hitches.
“Mobius,” Loki swallows heavily beside him, and Loki is left to nudge even closer to him, the insistent press of his body asking ‘how can I help?’
“How’d you deal with the realizations about your life not being what you thought?” Mobius replies quietly.
Loki hums. “Well, I had a good man by my side that helped me out, showed me that the past and the predetermined path isn’t all there is…”
Mobius looks back at Loki and Loki has a twitch of a smile on his lips but is otherwise holding a steady, careful gaze.
“Are you scared?” Mobius asks, almost changing the subject but not entirely.
“I’m petrified,” Loki admits with a huff and a dry laugh, shaking his head softly.
“Guess I don’t have too feel bad admitting I am too, then,” Mobius whispers, and that’s the crack in the dam. He feels the tears that burned behind his eyes spilling out.
Loki makes a concerned noise beside him and moves himself so he’s planted in front of Mobius instead of pressed into his side.
“Mobius…” Loki murmurs, and Mobius feels Loki take hold of his hand.
“Sorry, I’m fine, I’m okay,” Mobius says hurriedly, but the hoarseness of his voice betrays him. He scrubs haphazardly at the tears and shakes his head.
Mobius isn’t quite sure how he would have expected Loki to react to his distress (he knows a past Loki may have conjured some trick to make him laugh or make a worse situation so the original problem didn’t seem so pressing, or simply ignore the problem all together, unable to deal with it), but he most definitely isn’t expecting Loki to cup his cheek with one solid, broad hand and his press an excruciatingly gentle kiss to his cheek, his lips mingling with the salty tears.
Loki pulls back slowly, but just enough that their noses brush. Mobius feels frozen in place, his stomach in knots.
Loki’s lips remain parted, his eyes questioning. Mobius, despite everything, nods softly.
That’s all Loki needs, he closes the short distance and kisses Mobius fully, the hand on his cheek slipping back to cradle his head. Mobius hums in overwhelmed surprise, and Loki responds by pushing into the kiss, nipping at Mobius’ lip just slightly before pulling back for a breath. They stand there with their faces inches apart, breathing in tandem. The tears have stopped flowing, but the tracks remain. Loki wipes them away with his thumb.
“You… we, ah,” Mobius, for the first time in a long while, feels speechless.
“Mm-hmm,” Loki agrees, still a bit breathless (Mobius isn’t sure if it’s from the kissing, nerves, or both.) Then, with a bit more of a serious spark in his eyes, says, “you’re going to find me when we’re all done saving the multiverse, right?”
Mobius manages a tight smile and nod, nervous yet real. “Always.”

Alligator Loki #1 Is Delightful
Spoilers, obviously.
I'm OBSESSED with this play on words. Also, cue me writing a 5000+ word essay (not really) on the symbolism of Loki and butterflies. Alligator Loki accidentally stumbles into the climax of Encanto. 'Ay, mariposas, don't you hold on too tight--' [CHOMP] Can one of the issues of Alligator Loki be just a play on those trailers in the early 2000s where Stitch trespassed on a bunch of classic Disney movies, only instead of Stitch it's Alligator Loki?
2. This is not fair. He's in baby gator jail for a reason. But ugh I'm a sucker for a crying Loki too. And you know it's been a week when a fake-crying cartoon alligator makes you tear up too. I'd have broken the little devil out also.
3. I was really mad at him for pointing a knife at Alligator Loki a panel ago, but I live for jealous, insecure Loki oh my God. First of all, dude, you ran off into a fucking portal. It's not Alligator Loki's fault Thor reached into the portal looking for you and pulled him out! It's not Alligator Loki's fault Thor's been reaching out all this time and you've been slapping his hand away. It's not Alligator Loki's fault that he (a little bit) let Thor take care of him when Loki refuses. Maybe you should let Thor love you!
4. HOWEVER! You don't get to take a bite out of the Coat!!! Loki has an emotional attachment to that coat. I have an emotional attachment to that coat! You leave that coat alone!
5. I fucking love this. Alligator Loki has bitten people in almost every chapter so far, but he hasn't been bitten back. I think this might be the first time he's ever been bitten back. And I'm not shocked Loki did it. Frankly I think any Loki would and I'm surprised President Loki didn't do it in the show. I wonder if it'll be some time before Alligator Loki's reaction of choice is biting, just in case.
6. The art of this comic is so simple, and then there are panels like this, with so much going on that you can miss it. Alligator Loki's cold, because it's winter and he's cold-blooded, so Loki leaves him draped in his beloved coat, which in itself would be so sweet. But then he gets a bunch of fire-powered people to stay and keep Alligator Loki warm. But wait, Loki still has his coat, did he have a second one somewhere? But the tails are shimmering with magic; this dork is so vain and so attached to a coat he doesn't even need that he magicked himself one before he even left the area.
7. ...And now I'm sobbing. Good-bye.

“I’m not on the best terms with Connors,” Tony warned. “I can work with Foster, but Connors might actually try to slit my throat, I think.” “If you hadn’t sent him a pair of alligator boots with a card reading ‘sorry Iron Man helped Spidey kick your ass, but welcome back to humanity’ on them, when you found out he was working with Selvig, that might not be the case, Stark,” Maria sighed. “It’s not my fault his sense of humor is lacking.”
Tony is not sympathetic to Dr. Conners’ lizard problem (chp. 4)

Here unfolds a tale of war, desire, and warring desires.
After the invasion of New York, Tony figures out Loki’s game, and he lays out an ultimatum that he realizes the trickster can’t escape from, maneuvering Loki into agreeing to be an ally, rather than a foe, if only when the time comes.
A god’s sworn word is a promise that the god cannot break, but once Thanos’ head is parted from his shoulders, all bets will be off: no protections, no alliance, Loki free to do whatever he pleases, so long as he can still evade recapture at Asgard’s hands. So it’s simple, Tony tells himself: trust the war, not the god.
It should have been simple. It was doomed to be anything but, because infatuation has no place in a war-zone, but Tony is prone to impropriety at all sorts of slightly impractical times, or he wouldn’t have wound up with the god of lies in his bed so frequently in the first place. Practicality and safe-distance plans are all going wrong, and Tony likes it too much to stop.

For anyone keeping track (no one), I have started watching the first Avengers film (MCU not the 60s TV show) but only while eating lunch so it's gonna take a while. So far Nick Fury has been assembling the Avengers (the film was initially released in the UK as Avengers Assemble - because of that 60s TV show - but it's not called that on D+ so I'm calling it what the Americans called it, just FYI) even though there's not yet anything for them to avenge as That Suit Guy (j/k I know his name too!!) isn't dead yet, and now they're on THE FUCKING VALIANT FROM DR WHO and I assume we're gonna continue assembling for a while as they're not all there yet.
MEANWHILE Loki (who is neither an alligator nor a woman in this???) is in a SECRET UNDERGROUND LAIR with a bunch of his stans who are... idk something technobabble that involves irridium and anti-protons. He is there looking for the tesseract on behalf of ???? who I know will be revealed 47 films from now as... no, wait, it wasn't, was it? That was just announced on a website or something? So it could be LITERALLY ANYONE. The Avengers (in-progress) also seem to be after that thing, but I have already forgotten why everyone is wanting it, assuming it was mentioned (it probably was).
Thor hasn't shown up yet, but Arrows Hawkeye is working as a Loki Stan and there's Steve Rogers and THE HULK and The Only Woman One, whose power is that she's a Cold War assassin (??) and I think this one is the film where she gets called a cunt (!) and honestly I am not sure which of the men she's getting officially shipped with, I think Arrows Hawkeye though? Fairly sure, as the alternative is that a man and a woman like each other as people but not in a lusty way, which would never happen obviously. (Hey I may ship mostly het* pairings but I don't always like it!)
Based on the Valiant (if u don't know who she is get da hell out of here!) I am guessing that the film ends with Loki dying in Thor's arms romantically but then I remembered that I know it can't because one of Loki got kidnapped from... either the end of this film or the start of the next one or POSSIBLY just from a later film's time-travel bit (???) but like... maybe they've edited this film secretly and I was right after all? But nobody else has watched it on Disney + recently so nobody knows yet? IT COULD HAPPEN.
Not sure what to make of this film so far, a lot's been going on yet also not much has been going on, and the one I like best so far (Suit Guy) is gonna die (NOT EVEN IN THOR'S ARMS ROMANTICALLY) and god Iron Man really hasn't aged well now that we have that one tech billionaire being a twat in public all the time to remind us what such people tend to be like. WHERE IS THOR????
*I say het but everyone in everything is bisexual, I know this because I thought of it and announced it on tumblr and will now say "I don't make the rules" to make it an objective FACT. I don't make the rules!!!
#the avengers (mcu edition not the 60s one)#(though if u close one eye and tilt ur head the black widow looks a wee bit like emma peel maybe?)#i like to think the lair of loki stans exists after this to post angrily on social media about how actually he did nothing wrong etc etc#let me know if loki's just working from a subway station that's still in use in this that'd be hilarious he'd be so annoyed by it all#torn on the tortured-by-thanos issue so far he does look messy but he might just have the flu and didn't want to back out#a lot of people are depending on him to jumpstart a movie superhero franchise he can't just take the day off can he#if loki took care of himself thor would be LITERALLY UNEMPLOYED how could he? how could YOU?#(the 'god of thunder' thing isn't a job he doesn't get paid for it so it's just a hobby)#(he doesn't even monetise that hobby! you think iron man would give you storms for free? EXACTLY. he'd have a patreon AT LEAST)#(“if you enjoyed this torrential rain pls tip me on ko-fi which is not pronounced like you think it is because it's a really BAD pun”)#and whatever the fuck my loki character tag was#like i said i really do need to categorise my lokis more it's been bothering me for a while#reminder: i am here because they cast a woman in a previously-male role and SHE'S NOT EVEN IN THIS FILM. OR ANY OF THEM. D:#don't think the alligator's gonna turn up here either :( :( :(#otherwise it's just kind of fascinating what this film assumes i do and don't know about these characters#nick fury's a goth right?#mcu tag

seven characters: gail, loki, kid loki, alligator loki, hawkeye (kate), hawkeye (clint), squirrel girl
Awwww yeah. Marvel time! Here we go.
Grocery shopping: I gotta be honest none of these guys are good candidates. Something will Happen. I guess I'll take alligator loki and set it loose in the produce while I make my rounds. Create the scene before it can happen to me. Nobody can prove it was me. (also sorry but i might leave him there due to my bias against the mcu)
Out to lunch: I think I'll take regular Loki for this one. We'll probably hit up a diner and get breakfast food for lunch. It's kinda weird but, I imagine gail hanging out with him all the time but when i imagine myself there I'm like uhhh what would we even talk about? lol! But we'll find something I'm sure.
Grabbing coffee: my giiiiiirl Gail! We'd both just. sit there being tired and drinking coffee like it's water in the desert. It's like looking into a very strange mirror.... I'd probably try to make small talk without letting on that i know every freakin thought that she's ever thunk. She won't probably tell me any of it. But it's okay. I know.
Thrifting: I'll take Squirrel Girl with me ! We'll probably chat more than actually thrifting but this is the best way to hang out in my opinion. With objects to spark conversation. We will emerge as best friends forever.
Museum: I was trying to think which character would cause the least amount of catastrophic peripheral damage. Unfortunately, this is Marvel, and there is no large pane of glass that can be shown onscreen without being shattered within the issue. RIP to the exhibits. Clint is my buddy here though. It just feels right.
EDIT: forgot library. Kid Loki will be my guide and he will show me the invisible section where they keep the secret and magical books. He will be my first line of defense when the swarms of children get out of school. I will use him as a living shield. sorry buddy. love you
+1 to wedding: Kate! She likes to get fancy sometimes. I don't, but I'm just tagging along I guess. Like the museum, there's no question that something deadly is going to end up going down at this event, so I'll probably dip out early.

I also remember when people freaked over the TV show Loki because fans shipped Loki and Sylvie, and also Loki and Thor.
And what realyl anoys me about that
Beside the fact that they clearly have issues to distinguish between fact and fiction
They are also wrong
Incest (/ˈɪnsɛst/IN-sest) is human sexual activity between family members or close relatives.[1][2] This typically includes sexual activity between people in consanguinity (blood relations), and sometimes those related by lineage. It is condemned and considered immoral in most societies, given that it can lead to an increased risk of genetic disorders in children in case of pregnancy from incestuous intercourse.
Thor and Loki are adopted siblings
therfor they can't comit incest
No matter how hard they try
They are not blood related ... unless Odin has something he wants to share with the class ... XD
Same with Loki and Sylvie
I don't even now what exactly they are
since Waldron seems to think that Loki is a title, like Spiderman that different people can wear
Like Miles Morales, Pter Parker, Miguel O'Hara etc ...
All differnt people, all differnt backstories
All spiderman
Like one of the Lokis is an alligator
(And he is adorable <3)
Point is, Sylvie is not even MCU Loki that made a differnt desicion
She is a completely differnt person that just happens to be called Loki (a name she rejects)
she may or may not be Laufeys child
-> Like we know she was adopted but that is all
She may or may not be a child of an asgardian
We don't know
And we are never told
Her file does not say where she originated
Or who her blood parents are
-> Despit the fact the TVA should know
Becasue Waldron is shit at worldbuilding and doesn't care
So I tell you what Sylvie/Loki is
It's not incest
It's not selfcest
It's not masturbation
It's shity worldbuilding, that's what it is

some thoughts
so Loki season 2 is coming soon, right? i just revived an idea that i i stored on my google docs for like...2 years lol. it is basically a ‘post-series’ thing where classic loki (i kept him alive bc 1) daddy issues were acting up 2) bc why tf not), kid loki, alligator loki and reader (really it was just myself but imma include y’all too) where they get out of the void and rebuild their lives in another universe and try an remain incognito from any threats...idk where i was going with it but i had something.
anyway, i was thinking of posting like headcanons and memes and stuff, but i need a title for it to add to my master list in case y’all wanna check it out
i might add a poll later today so you guys can vote, but yea that’s it
edit: for some reason i don’t have a poll setting so imma just sit in the corner with my dog and ponder on a title

I finished reading the third issue of the Loki miniseries, and was met by a very lovely surprise at the end. (Slight spoilers for the last issue, but the page is the Coming Soon comics, which advertise issue four but other things too.)
Do you see that??? Do you SEE THAT?
If we count The Immortal Thor (and I’m going to exclusively on the grounds of Al Ewing and I’m begging him), that is almost eleven straight weeks of Loki content this fall!!! Let me break this down.
Next Wednesday, August 23: First issue of The Immortal Thor releases. I don’t know if Loki’s going to be in this, but since it’s Thor and it’s being written by Al Ewing and the Loki miniseries is wrapping up shortly after this series starts, I think it’s safe to say he might make an appearance.
Two weeks later, September 6: Loki features in issue 8 of Scarlet Witch and it looks like things might get…steamy??? for a hot sec??? I’ve never considered this ship before but I’m kind of into it??? I’m already predicting that this affair isn’t going to last beyond this issue, and is probably fake on somebody’s end, but you can bet I’m gonna be reading it and thinking about it for weeks and possibly writing fics.
The following week, September 13: Alligator Loki issue 1. This comic has already been posted on Marvel Unlimited, Marvel’s paywall blocked website, but I will say I strongly considered getting the free trial once the run ended so I could read it, so I am THRILLED that it’s finally being released in print. According to the Marvel website, the entire digital run is being compiled in this one issue though, so either the comic is shorter than I thought it was, or this is less of an issue and more of a graphic novel volume.
The next week, September 20: Loki miniseries, fourth and final issue. Now that I’m finally sort of starting to figure out where in Loki’s comic arc this narrative might be taking place, I’m actually really starting to enjoy this series, and I’m going to be sad to see it end.
(Probably 2-4 weeks following 8/23, the next issue of The Immortal Thor will also come out, but I didn’t look that up so I’m not sure when that will be exactly.)
And finally, approximately two and a half weeks later, October 6: Loki season two premieres! As far as I can tell from press releases, there will be six episodes, which means another month and a half of Loki content!!!
Needless to say, I am going to be insufferable this fall and I am very excited.
