The Prestige by black_feather_fiction (Post-TDW AU. While transporting Loki across Yggdrasil, Tony sees him die what appears to be a gruesome yet mystifying death. The events that unfold from there show him that there’s much more to Loki than what meets the eye. A lot of exploration through trauma, including possibly disturbing graphic descriptions. 66 chapters and still ongoing!)

Loki winds up his temporary roommate due to shenanigans long before the romantic bits show up, and John has a therapeutic affair w/Amora and Skurge somewhere in there. It's "On Which I Stake My Name" on AO3 by Like_A_Hurricane. It's a WIP that hasn't updated for awhile, but worth it. Lots of H/C

Set in the World's End Inn, from Neil Gaiman's Sandman series, which in turn was inspired by the G.K. Chesterton poem "A Child of the Snows" from the lines of which I nicked the title for this fic.

What is your go to comfort re-read? Book, fabric, either.

Hmm. You know, I’m not completely sure. I’ve almost completely given up books in favor of fanfic in the past couple of years, so I’d have to say that for a comfort reread, I’d go back through my bookmarks to find something.

One of my favorite authors is Like_A_Hurricane, and her “Dare to Believe in Us” series. The OT3 of Loki, Tony, and Pepper is not my usual ship, but she makes it work; and it’s my comfort fic because everything goes *right* for Loki for a change.

But yeah, I’d happily go back through most of my bookmarks and read anything that’s in there. I didn’t bookmark it because I thought it sucked, after all.

Hey! I've been looking for a fic where there was a scene with Loki trying to melt jotunheim by getting a fire giant (Surtur???) to chase him around. When all is somewhat lost, thor arrives with an ofc? Loki was trying to melt jotunheim for some reason, and there was also a conversation with some surviving Jotuns who have been living under all the ice. I can't really remember if it is frostiron or not.

Here unfolds a tale of war, desire, and warring desires.

After the invasion of New York, Tony figures out Loki’s game, and he lays out an ultimatum that he realizes the trickster can’t escape from, maneuvering Loki into agreeing to be an ally, rather than a foe, if only when the time comes.

A god’s sworn word is a promise that the god cannot break, but once Thanos’ head is parted from his shoulders, all bets will be off: no protections, no alliance, Loki free to do whatever he pleases, so long as he can still evade recapture at Asgard’s hands. So it’s simple, Tony tells himself: trust the war, not the god.

It should have been simple. It was doomed to be anything but, because infatuation has no place in a war-zone, but Tony is prone to impropriety at all sorts of slightly impractical times, or he wouldn’t have wound up with the god of lies in his bed so frequently in the first place. Practicality and safe-distance plans are all going wrong, and Tony likes it too much to stop.
