There’s birds chirping outside Grian’s window as he steps into the living space of his cottage, a bowl of water in his hands and rolls of bandages floating behind him, highlighted in glowing red.

His dark eyes sweep over the two men seated on his couch, and takes in their drastically differing expressions. One of them is smiling, peaceful and content despite the scratches covering his skin. There’s a bruise on his forehead, and his arm is most definitely broken, but he looks completely unbothered by it.

The man next to him is looking off to the side, his arms are crossed over his chest, brows pressed together and sitting low on his forehead. He looks just as injured as his friend, though he appears significantly less pleased about it. There’s a tear in the sleeve of his shirt, and Grian can see the blood drying against his pale skin.

Grian pauses right in front of them, “I don’t have much medical supplies, so we’ll have to make do with these.” He gestures at the floating objects behind him.

The smiling man looks up at him and his green eyes shine pleasantly, “Oh, not at worry! The hospitality is very much appreciated!”

The bowl of water is set down on the nearby table as Grian moves to pull a stool over. He places it down right in front of the two men before sitting down himself. The bandages float over to the table and Grian motions them down with his finger. “I’ll run out to town later and grab some actual supplies,” he says, eyes trailing over to the smiling man. He quirks a brow, “What did you say your names were?”

“We didn’t,” the brooding man cuts in, voice low and terse.

Grian frowns at him as he dips the towel on his shoulder into the water. “Well then can I know them?” he snarks in reply, and the smiling man laughs.

“The name’s Scar, and my grumpy companion is Mumbo,” Scar explains. He looks at Grian with an inquisitive gaze, though there’s something else within his eyes. Grian can’t quite tell what it is, but when he looks at Scar’s eyes he feels electricity zip through him. He suppresses a shiver. Scar smiles at him, but it appears just a tad too sharp, “And what may your name be, oh kind and benevolent stranger?”

“Grian,” he answers blankly, finding himself sitting up straighter on the stool. His insides twist and curdle with Scar’s eyes on him like this, feeling as the man is trying to see something that isn’t on the surface.

“And you’re a witch?” Scar questions, and the movement is minute, the way his eyes squint ever so slightly.

Electricity crackles in the air, charging each particle and making it taste static on Grian’s tongue. It almost feels like a stand off, like Grian should choose his words carefully else a fight in his home may break out. Or his mysterious and injured guests may just show themselves out at the very doorstep they randomly appeared on.

Slowly, Grian nods, “I am.” He watches Scar’s expression carefully, noting from the corner of his eyes the way Mumbo seems to stiffen. “I don’t see how that’s relevant right now though,” he says, motioning for Scar to move closer, “your injuries are much more important.”

Much like lightning cracking in the sky, or two sparks of electricity meeting, whatever charge was building in the atmosphere around them bursts. It quickly fizzles out and disperses, leaving only weak charges of static behind.

It makes Grian relax almost immediately, the hairs on the back of his neck no longer standing on edge. His shoulders drop slightly, letting his guard fall.

Scar offers him a smile and a soft secret chuckle as he leans in, and Grian has to bring the stool closer in order to reach him the way he needs to.

He dips the towel into the bowl once again, taking Scar’s chin in his hand to move him the way he needs to. He scowls as the light just isn’t working for him and with his free hand, he takes his finger and draws a circle in the air. It glows red as it forms from his fingertip before morphing and curling in on itself, becoming a sphere of light that glows warmly. “Much better,” Grian hums before carefully dragging the soaked towel against Scar’s skin.

Silence stretches over the living room as Grian works on patching up his mysterious guests’ injuries.

Scar, the Mounders and the Roomies

So you remember how during secret life the mounders and the roomies had their battle in the towers and how Scar just kinda showed up and on a whim decided to join the mounders. If you really think about it Scar should be nowhere near this battle, it does nothing for him as he could have just stayed on the ground to preserve hearts and avoid taking damage, he has zero loyalties to either side and barely cares for which team would remain on top. And yet, somehow, this battle had Everything to do with Scar.

Why?

Because EVERY single person he had ever had a connection to was in that battle

let’s look at the mounders

Joel: last life ally, were once Magical Mountain and even though their alliance was short, he still was one of the (surprising) few people scar had a connection with (I need to make posts about “looks like you’ve found your alliance Scar” and “Scar sends his regards”)

Bdubs: limited life ally, his brother from the Clockers family

Pearl: though weren’t quite allies they had a strong friendship in double life with torturing each others soulmates with powdered snow

then there are the roomies

Cleo: limited life ally, his mother from the Clockers family

Etho: his absent father in limited life who he had a messy relationship with but he had plenty of moments with him so it still counts

Grian: 3rd life and double life ally, his soulmate and partner in monopolies

There wasn’t a single person in that battle who wasn’t strongly related to Scar and every person Scar had a proper relationship with in the life series was in that battle, yet he was an outsider, never supposed to be in the fight, but he somehow still manages to get involved. The fact that this was all COMPLETELY unscripted yet stuff like this happens blows my mind

allay!Scar propoganda

everyone thought both Cub and Scar were vex hybrids for a long time- even themselves. Even though there were some substantial differences between Cub and Scar, with Scar being more atypical than typical vexes or vex-hybrid temperament.

And then, there were the discovery of allays- and that vexes are allays, corrupted by illager magic. Rarer to find because they're mostly all captured by illagers to create more vexes. But then a lot of people who thought themselves to be vex-hybrids, realized they're probably actually allay hybrids! Most people think Scar is probably that but he's a little apprehensive to approach that identity crisis

differences between Cub and Scar include

Scar is brighter and bluer than Cub, who is more gray

Scar cannot go "red mode" and become hostile like Cub can

both are tricksters by nature, but Cub is more vindictive in his plotting, while Scar leans towards more good-natured things (which still might include deaths but they're silly)

Scar is an item hoarder. His chest monsters suddenly make a lot more sense when you remember how allays like to collect items. Grian is plotting to hide a jukebox in Scar's base and see if it will get him to sort his chests

Scar's clumsiness is unique to him, but sometimes the amount of time it takes before he dies is uncanny, like allay invulnerability? which is something that Cub first brought up because his nature is that mobs are more aggressive to him because illager magic corrupts a lot of stuff, mobs included

Cub has an aversion to amethyst, its sounds hurt his ears. Scar does not have this.

GUYS I FINALLY DREW SCAR AGAIN IT'S A MIRACLEEEEEEEEEE- Oh and a Rendog as well cause these were warm ups for me sketching another project I have going on-

Hi! I’m the anon who sent the Goofy Yaoi Scaridarity and Allay!Jimmy asks (maybe more asks too I need to remember), I mostly lurk around these parts. I also just enjoy exploring rare pairs (as the Scaridarity ask indicate but I like other rare Jim pairs too) and other ideas.

Speaking of Scaridarity, thinking about Jimmy only recently becoming an Allay hybrid in Wild Life and living with a Vex!Scar. I imagine the confusion at first since Scar sees he has blue wings but they’re not Vex-like either. Scar probably asks him about where his vex mask is and Jimmy is just confused about these masks. Maybe Jimmy is given an item by Scar and begins floating around. Funnier if Scar gives him an amethyst. Maybe a red life Jimmy can be vex-like too, as a treat.

Anyway, Scar and Jimmy should kiss and go on trips together where they totally nearly die to but they’re still alive.

YAY MORE ALLAY JIMMY!!!!

It'd be so funny if Scar accidentally triggers all of Jimmy's instincts but like in a good way. He gives him amethyst, he puts on music, he asks Jimmy to get him stuff. Shit now I wanna write about this.... Scar gives Jimmy some food and Jimmy follows him around for a half an hour. He doesn't mind, he's just... kinda confused. But Jimmy's nice company and really funny and nice to be around, so Scar is more than happy to work and talk with Jimmy just hanging around.

Augh I love them!!!!!!!!!

Allay Scar. He absolutely adores music and will randomly spun if he hears music.

If he laughs there's that's sorta allay chime in his voice that makes his laugh slightly breathy and very allay-like.

He stims by dropping and picking up blocks over and over again

AAAAA i love the allay laugh detail that's so cute asjkdjks I'm imagining the hermits sometimes leave little trails of blocks for him to follow and he gets little gifts at the end <33 enrichment time

And as he approaches his home, he sees the silhouettes of two people collapsed on his doorstep.

Wings fluffing up in alarm, Grian hurries to approach.

Passed out on the ground are two men, and they appear to be injured. Grian grimaces at the blood that’s spilling into the grass below before turning his attention to the two strangers at his doorstep.

The brown haired one is covered in bruises, and his face is twinged with pain, even in sleep. His arm is at an odd angle, making Grian grimace. Though it's the man’s companion that makes Grian worry. He seems to be bleeding, but Grian can’t tell how bad it is. Not from this angle anyways.

But most importantly, there’s magic radiating from the two of them.

Allay scar but it’s not visible except for his scars

You heard of allay Scar and vex Cub. But I present you: allay Cub, Vex Scar.

I headcanon that Scar mistook Cub for another vex, and Cub just kinda rolled with it.

Ohh I like that.

Scar had been looking for another Vex, the small ghostly beings live in small social groups with 2 to 4 other Vex's. And Scar had been by himself for a long time, so when he got even the smallest glimmer of magic off another player on the hermitcraft server he latched onto it.

The allays are still social but not quite as social as the Vex. So while Cub didn't quite understand why the Vex was so interested he let it happen.

The best feeling an artist can having is actually being proud of their work, the second best feeling is realising your art isn’t good and actually being okay about it.

I’m actually kinda happy with how this turned out, there’s ALOT I need to get better at but I had SOOO much fun making this! I can’t wait to do the rest of these challenges!
