LOVE Seltzer. She's in a cult but shes so sweet and DID genuinely mean the best for everyone and truly believed in it. Im in no position of knowledge of experience to speak on nuance of cults I just sympathize for her. The fact that shes REALLY pretty is a bonus but genuinely if she ever shows up again I hope she's freed from her shackles and finds her happiness (and Menthol clues in LOL)

Ok but speaking of Menthol. The entire time time I was sitting here trying to figure out WHERE else Ive seen this character before. I think he looks / feels kinda copy pasted of Raine from The Owl House?? Am I going crazy on that??

Also is it just me who thinks Cream Soda could be Seltzer and Menthol's kid? One of her level up lines is "that wasnt a mint candy, was it?" (Cause I got it frantically building her for new Guild Battle boss) which is VERY out of place with the rest of her lines which are otherwise devoid of character. Nothing about Cream Soda makes sense in lore but Seltzer and Menthol share the visual ingredients (ie bubbly water hair) and I can kinda see the vibes working out somehow??

I haven't met any of the main cast from the first Fantasy Life in FLi yet, but I like to imagine they're all grown up now, and wanted to imagine how that might look + my PC (the second to last one; his name is Skye) also grown up. So here are some messy design mock-ups. I know they don't look like this in game. I'm playing dolls ok

This also has some of my personal headcanons for them and how I imagine their heights. Below the cut are transparent individual images of them for all of your ??? needs, as well as a few additional notes

I like that they all sort of "share colors", in a sense? Some more than others. I believe in my heart of hearts that Laura and Olivia are in love. So they get to be blue, red, and gold together. Damien is the least social of the bunch, mostly just cus he's not as familiar with having friends, but he has hints of their colors in there, including the embroidered blueish gold butterfly in reference to Skye & Yuelia. Skye, however, is the most outgoing fella you'll ever meet (while being completely mute), so they have prominent colors from everyone. Most notable, I think, is their cape being the one Damien gifts the player for helping him. I'd also be remiss to not mention they all have gold in them, which I like to imagine is for Yuelia being the thing that ties them all together.

Anyway. If I get around to it, I'd like to do ones for Grace, Yuelia, Noelia, Pino, and Leilah too.

so fun fact. i was consistently surprised that fanartists decided that Pure Vanilla just stabbed himself through the chest when he tried to shatter the Soul Jam in B-Y chapter 8. I thought that was one of those things that had sound effects but not really any visual or the visual was just in the background and showed a cracked Soul Jam before PV Awakening cutscene

no. no that's animated as part of the cutscene. He does just do that in canon. Pure Vanilla stabbed himself just for the hell of it not knowing what was going to come next.

do you think about how Truthless Recluse maybe knew what he had to do with the Soul Jam for longer than he indicated in B-Y Chapter 8, but was hesitant (terrified) to do it because that was the same action that ended the Dark Flour War?

That utterly destroyed his kingdom.

That shattered the Soul Jams and weakened their wielders.

That gave Dark Enchantress the ability to chase after the fragments of Light to give her a fighting chance after all.

That irreversibly harmed all his friends.

That locked him in a void with nothing but his guilt (or Shadow Milk) for an age.

But he worked up the courage to do it anyway, because once again it seemed like the only option. That the Soul Jam was the cause of all this conflict and strife, and if it couldn't be in Shadow Milk's hands- it certainly couldn't be in Pure Vanilla's again. No one should have it, no one should be able to have that much power over what the Universe does and does not know.

He probably thought destroying the Soul Jam would kill him for real this time. He was willing to make that sacrifice again.

That looking back, the difference between Pure Vanilla Awakening and everyone in the Spire crumbling was maybe nothing more than which way the power of the Soul Jam of Truth/Deceit/Knowledge went when released. It worked out but... what was his decision, what was fate, and what was just pure luck?
