more ideas for the new totk rewrite (rewrite + villain rauru);
(zelda has the shiekah stone, link has an imperfect imitation of it that lacks its abilities from botw but can still make photos, has the map and teleport- since they lack the knowldge of how to make shiekah stones they tried to make one that at least has these basic function for you- it explains you not having its abilites anymore and works with zelda being gone for the first half of the game)
once you aquire all normal engima stones, the last one before the mid point unlocks, its the yiga one bc you gotta figure out first that they have one and since you can do the others in any order its to prevent you from doing the gerudo one last bc
once you are only missing zeldas and ganondorfs stone, rauru tells you to go back to the starting area bc from there he can get enough power to seek out exactly where they are- you do it and its ... in gerudo town
when you go there, the gerudo are suddendly hostile towards you, and are telling you that you are helping the wrong one- rauru of course says that ganondorf must have went to them and riled them up against you, they are his people after all (and evil stays in the family, right?), at the very least here youd notice something is off-
so he tasks you with infiltrating the city, you fight the gerudo until you reach Riju and Ganondorf (who is now in restored gerudo appearance), Riju again tries to tell you to not fight and listen to her but at this point raurus influence is too strong, he makes you keep going until she is forced to draw her weapons on you, but Ganondorf takes her to the side and says he will confront you, bc you will not listen- she begrudgingly agrees and ganondorf takes you to an arena to fight;
the fight is like an actual boss battle, once you defeat him the second phase takes you to the underground (still working on the details as to how) once you beat this one too, a cutscene starts, as you land the last hit and he gets staggered rauru takes control over your hand and throws the master sword (it wasnt broken at the start) to land the final fatal blow, rauru apologizes and says he only did it bc the moment was too perfect-
then, either that laserbeam thing or a shiekah stone ability breaks the wall and zelda storms into the arena, yelling at you to stop what you are doing (gan didnt want her to be in the same room when he fights you bc then rauru had both missing stones right there- but she couldnt not intervene once it was clear ganondorf was losing) she starts to try and explain what is happening but rauru takes ahold of you and you attack zelda to get her stone, she draws her dagger she carries for self defense but stops bc its .. link shed have to attack, at the same time ganondorf rips the mastersword out of his chest and lunges to intervene but rauru uses the hookshot like ability of his arm to stop him and grabs onto the stone on his forehead, his claws ripping both stone and its golden socket violently away- he has aquired both of their stones now- ganondorf falls to the ground and his body start to disintegrate into green magic, your tattoos start to disappear and your arm too as rauru quickly rebuild his own body, he throws zelda to the side of the arena and takes you to a strange dimension of nothing but another arena lined with statues of rauru, floating in a greenish void with sonau magic patterns slowly moving around
a fight starts, the mastersword lies on the ground here and ccan pick it up, but you have lost your right arm, and are hurt, your hearts empty and you cannot heal, you cant wield it with your left arm, much less in this condition, rauru gives a little villain speech, thanking you for what you did and telling you his grand idea to make your world into the one he had back in the day, a world full of light with no shadows to be found and no fights to break out as all are united under him and his holy rule, you he launches an attack every now and then but does so jokingly, you are much too weak to properly fight him, you can try to attack but the end of his health bar isnt even visible; once his speech ends you are throw out of his arena, you have served your purpose
back to were you were, you see zelda running to you, the room in which you are in starts to crumble in green light, changing form into something else, but black out
once you reawaken you are in a bed with zelda and purah in the room, a bodiless voice greets you, but its not rauru, you have a shiekah prosthetic arm now, still a little malfunctioning as you dont know how to use it yet, zelda comes over and a longer cutscene starts in which she tells you what happened in the time you collected the enigma stones
after you woke both rauru and ganondorf up at the start of the game gan took her away, she tried to fight him, scared by what just happened and by his withered look, but he i able to explain that rauru was attempting to get the stone she now has, and his too, in this condition he cant fight, his stone has been drained of alot of power over the centuries of shiekah tech drawing power from it first, the one rauru had- and now zelda, isnt as drained, rauru wont confront them immediately either as he is surely planning to reclaim all his lost power now- they both stayed in the underground, swtiching places over and over to prevent rauru from locating them vie zeldas shiekah stone, which is harder for him to do when in the udnerground too- they form a plan to counter raurus, ganondorf takes time to regain his strength (the roots all in the underground are him reaching around to regain it faster) since in this mummy like appearance no one would even try to listen to anything, and he will not let zelda out alone, the risk would be too great by the time link aquired the last stone that wasnt theirs, ganondorf had regained enough to rebuild his former body, they both approach gerudo town, where else would they go, these are his people and with zelda surely they will listen- and after alot of shock and confusion (zelda is fine and saying link is helping the wrong one?? there is a GERUDO MAN THAT SAYS HE WAS ONCE THEIR KING????) they do listen and agree to help them out- which is why they were hostile towards link at the end there
the land, your home, is slowly changing into something else, like its ground is reversing in time and sprouting strange structures you hadnt seen before, monsters are less now and those that persists are not hostile, there are new hostile creatures you have never seen before
rauru is reforming the land into what he beliefs it should be, and it needs to be stopped
purah and the gang tm explain to you what your new shiekah arm can do, its mostly the same as raurus did as they tried to imitate it, you are having trouble adjustign to it though and wielding a weapon is hard, this is way different after all- and then suddendly ganondorfs spirit appears (scaring the shit out of anyone but zelda whos just happy he isnt fully gone .. even if he lost his body) who says hes gonna help you out with it, he resides in the shiekah arm now bc he wont just let rauru do whatever he wants after spending such a long time being held captive and trying to break free; hes helping you to work with it (so you dont have an actual big set back in progress) and helps out as another ally- you can call him for help or advice and joins cutscenes or when interesting things are discovered, and also convinces the yiga to side with them for now too
zelda is now your permanent companion while ganondorf is another but it spirit form
(theres a bit of trouble when zelda learns he is responsible for the calamity and what it did, after which he refuses to appear when called for a while, but they both agree they need to work together if rauru is to be stopped)

From the moment Jo and Antoine arrived back home it was clear that something was different. Antoine had grown quiet, contemplative even, while Joâs newfound confidence was even more pronounced than it had been these last few weeks. She proceeded to the cabin and then the farmhouse, calling out for Gio and Zelda before walking away without an explanation to either. As she did so, Antoine remained outside, throwing branches into the bonfire and staring at them as they went up into flames.
That was the way Zelda found him - staring forward and unmoving even as she looked to him for acknowledgment. Her eyes roamed upward from him to Gio, who was on the opposite porch looking just as confused as she felt. A sort of sympathy passed between them alongside the knowledge that something had fundamentally shifted while they had sat alone in their houses, unincluded and unaware. Jo reached Antoine first, patting him familiarly on the shoulder as though to awaken them all from a dream.
She had a plan. That much was clear from the start. That, and the fact that the reactions she was eliciting would do nothing to change it. So she told them every detail of Hosa Groveâs offer without stopping to let anyone speak, until she had finished reciting each and every date, number, and location he had given her. But as soon as she did, Gio was the first to answer. âJo, I-I donât know about thisâŠâ
She interrupted him before he could go any further, âYou got us into this mess, Gio. If this is what it takes to get us out of it then itâs what Iâm going to do.â He dropped his eyes to the sand and went quiet, which was precisely her intention. âNow it's not the full loan amount, but it should be enough to get them off our backs for a while. I canât imagine thereâs a line of people waiting out the bank. Still, it's only enough with me and Antoineâs money combined, and Iâm not putting any in unless I get part ownership in return.â
Gio turned toward her incredulously, his obedience momentarily forgotten. âYou canât be fucking serious. Why the hell would you want any of this farm? You hate it and you know my share is as good as yoursâŠâ
Her eyes set and the look on her face told them all that the conversation was over before she even said a word. She met Gioâs gaze straight on and lowered her voice into a cold, measured tone. âYou offered Antoine half. Itâs no different. He canât pay the full share, but if we split it, then he and I each get a fourth of the ownership.â She paused briefly, letting the gravity of the choice sit on them all for a moment, âOtherwise we lose the house.â
The very fire seemed to cackle at him, punctuating her words and feeding into his guilt-ridden idea that this was simply retribution, some sort of divine justice that placed him neatly beneath the heels of her red shoes after he had tried to tuck them away at the back of their closet. âFine,â he finally relinquished, the uneven tone of the word signifying that it was anything but, âThe farm will go half into Duplanchier ownership, split evenly between the two of you.â
Jo finally turned her full attention to Antoine, leaving Gioâs defeated face happily in her periphery. âNow, Antoine, what about you? All of this is moot if you donât agree.â
He knew that the question was rhetorical. Jo had already made an agreement with Hosa, and so he had very little choice in the matter. The deal was nothing without him, and it was the only thing standing between them, bankruptcy, and the fate of the Okies. Even knowing that, he didnât want to do it. He wanted to stay there on the ranch during the day and wake up next to Zelda every morning. To go outside and see his daughter before she left for school, only to still be there when she returned. He wanted to be home.
But home would cease to exist if he didnât leave it. His daughterâs dollhouse, his wifeâs books, Gioâs fields, Joâs vanity - their very lives fell on his shoulders and his unwillingness to say yes. Still, he knew he would never make the choice to leave if she didnât as well, no matter what it cost them. He looked at her profile, which was staring wordlessly into the fire like his had been moments before.Â
When Zelda looked back at him she misinterpreted the hesitation in his eyes as worry for her, so she did her best to put on a brave face and looked back at Josephine, âI meant what I promised you all those years ago. Both of you. When the time came for him, Iâll do whatever you need of me.â
With her words, the deal was sealed, and Antoine looked back at his sister with a begrudging nod. He and Jo were going on the road.

My Forest spirit
A legend of Zelda BOTW/TOTK Yandere x Reader. This is obviously cannon divergent. Fem!Y/N is short and Curvy in this, and is often described with long hair. This story will contain NSFW!scenes, violence and profanity. MDNI
Next Chapter
Chapter 1: My knight in shinning armour
âYahaha you found me!â A little Korok laughed as I stared down at him.
My ears twitched excitedly as it jumped up into my arms. The little forest spirits loved me. They always have. I grew up in this forest after my mother left me here. The clothes on my back are woven from fronds the Koroks brought me and I just ran around barefoot. Iâve only ever seen anyone like me once. He wore a cloak and was muttering about stopping the âprincessâ whatever that means.
A group of Koroks ran past my legs as the shaking of maracas grew closer. Their behaviour startled me, they shouldnât fear Hestu⊠theyâre a close friend of all of us.
âSister Y/N! There are people, we must hide!â
I was dragged behind a tree as Hestuâs humming grew louder. Strange clacking noises grew closer, as well as other voices.
âI canât believe you of all people will wield the Master Sword!â
âRevali ease up on Link, heâs a wonderful knight to me!â A feminine voice called back.
My eyes widened at the voices! No one ever enters the forest, what are they here for? What is a⊠Master Sword? I watched from behind the tree and the silent man in the middle of the group glanced in my direction. My large frond mask was still covering my face, so I scurried behind the tree with the other Koroks. They continued further into the forest and I ran between trees to watch them. As they approached the centre of the forest, I realised what they had come for, the strange thing in the ground. So thatâs what itâs called, the Master Sword.
The silent one stepped forward and grabbed the hilt of the ancient blade. He grunted in pain as he pulled it up out of the ground and held it above his head proudly. I watched him from atop a tree, eyes wide and excited. Based off of Hestuâs cheers, this must be an amazing accomplishment. I should cheer too.
I clapped excitedly as the Koroks beside me seemed confused but then joined me in celebration. The group gasped and looked up to where we were, drawing these strange objects from their backs. Hestu gasped and ran in front of them.
âNO NO! Weapons down, you canât hurt Sister Y/N!â
Weapons? My eyes widened beneath the mask as I slid to be hidden by the leaves. One of the women step forward, her tan skin and deep crimson hair complimented by the deep green of the Forrest. She placed her curved blade on the floor and held her hands up beside her head.
âPlease donât run dear, we had no idea you were friend not foe. The war has everyone incredibly stressed.â
âWar?â I mutter, poking my head out of the leaves.
Hestu looks up at me and laughs gesturing for me to jump down. I slid off of the tree and landed on the stone beside Hestu. They shake their maracas happily as I smile at them beneath my mask. The woman who had spoken to me seemed shocked, Iâm unsure why though.
âAh⊠my apologies for staring, that was rude. My name is Urbosa, Iâm assuming youâre Y/N.â
I nod as a few Koroks come and stand beside my legs, watching the group closely and protectively.
âThis is Sister Y/N! Sheâs a spirit of the forest like the Koroks and I!â Hestu happily said.
âSister? Sheâs clearly not anything like you all! She looks like your average Hylian!â The strange bird person yelled.
The large man behind him slapped him on the back. He winced but stayed quiet as the blonde woman stepped forward.
âIâm so sorry for us startling you Y/N. We had to retrieve the Master Sword to help win the war against Ganon. Do you⊠live here? What are you wearing?â
âFronds.â
âAh, so you do speak. I suppose youâre like Link then, he only speaks around his friends.â
âLink?â
âYes, heâs my knight, the one with the Master Sword.â
âMaster⊠I used to..â
âDid you guard the sword?â She asked.
âNo, I used to use the zappies it made to start my campfires! How am I meant to start fires now?â I frown, jabbing the man beside her.
He just pulled a strange rock from his pocket and place it in my hand. I raised a brow and he pulled out a second, striking it against the stone on the floor and lighting a stick on fire nearby.
âWhoa! Pocket campfire! Fair trade fair trade!â I hold the rock in my hand in wonder, removing my mask to get a better look at it.
The man before me just stared straight at my face before grabbing my wrist.
âHuh? You canât have it back, it was a trade!â
He just grunted and pulled me up off the ground and held me over his shoulder. One hand held the Master Sword while the other rested on the bump of my behind. The breeze ran right through me as his hand rhythmically squeezed. Is this how people interact? The Koroks donât really have hands⊠maybe itâs to make sure I wouldnât fall.
âLink! Thatâs inappropriate!â
âHyaa!â He began to run, his grip becoming tighter as began to slip and held him in fear.
âLINK!â
âSISTER Y/N! Awww, maybe itâs good she sees the outside world, look after her.â Hestu sighed.
âOf course, we will,â Urbosa answered. Running to catch up with the others who were chasing Link.
New Yandere gained, Link.
Hey look at you, you managed to capture the knights heart! Now time for some facts about your new Yandere. (basically head cannons)
It's no surprise that Link is incredibly protective over you, he would let Zelda die if it meant he could ensure your safety.
He's also very physically affectionate. He must always have at least one hand on you and when he hasn't for a long time... He tends to get very handsy.
He gives you plenty of kisses the moment that people stop looking. If he feels like someone is moving in on his âterritoryâ he will just begin groping you from behind until they get the message.

HUMMMMMM
What about Links to Zeldaâs point of view of pre relationship after calamity BOTW, where everybody and their brother (AND SISTER) is in love with Zelda and hits on her, sheâs oblivious of course because, yknow super in love with Link.
Every place they travel to post calamity, poor links cheeks STAY clenched.
Thanks for the prompt, @raziasark! I have been very slow, so I decided to post this one in installments. This first one is about 1100 words. I hope you enjoy the beginning and I'll try to be less slow đ
Thanks @newtsnaturethings for bouncing ideas back and forth with me!

The Princess Vibe
At first, Link didnât notice. He had a lot to deal with, and he was disoriented. Who could blame him? Heâd just shot a giant purple boar on magenta-fire with magical golden arrows which somehow emerged from his soul while riding Geranium (who had somehow materialized in Hyrule field despite Link knowing for a fact when he last left him, he was happily munching hay at Riverside Stable).
Zeldaâs arms around him were even more disorienting.
âThank you, Link. Thank you,â she said, over and over like someone still half-dreaming, her voice muffled against his shoulder.
He held her firm, but so, so carefulâshe deserved every ounce of support he had in him, but she was his Princess, half-remembered and half an ethereal vision from his life before. Was it real? Was she real? Did he love her? He thought he did, but nowhere in all those glimpses of his past life had he said or done anything about it.
He could be imagining things, especially if they were in the past.
His head could be coping with all that secondhand drama.
Past-him mightâve just been doing his duty.
Past-her mightâve expected him to do his duty, too, and that was it.
Now-her might be glad he finally finished his duty, but thatâs all.
Zelda shook like a dry, crackling leaf against him.
Link stroked her hair without thinking. He winced, waiting for an objection, but she just kept thanking him. He swallowed the taste of malice-fire, acrid and sulfurous in his dry throat.
She was free for the first time in a hundred years. She deserved that freedom. He wouldnât foist his own feelings on her.
Later, he found himself wishing everyone else would see it that way.
--
They arrived, filthy and exhausted, at Riverside Stable.
âHuh?!â Ember said, his mouth agape as they approached on the unmistakable giant horse. âWhenâd you take him out?â
âSnuck him out like a thief in the night, eh?!â Gotter said, squinting at Link. âWhy didnât you ask us like normal?â
Zeldaâd been half-dozing against him in the saddle, but her head rose at that. âIndeed not. I teleported him.â
âYou-â
âWhat?!â
âI apologize for any inconvenience,â she said.
They stared at her.
As Link dealt with Ember and the logistics of re-boarding the horse, Gotter seemed unable to stop staring at Zelda, whoâd sunk onto a stool to rest.
âEh- do you- teleport often?â the portly stablehand asked in a strange tone of voice.
âOnly recently,â Zelda replied.
âO- oh. I see, so- eh-â Gotter wrung his hands and took a step closer to her. âWhat kind of things have you- tried?â
âOnly Link and that horse.â
âOh! You can teleport people?!â
âNot anymore,â she said.
âEh? Why not?â
âI suppose it must be due to my renewed corporeality.â
Gotter scratched his head with a befuddled squint.
Link finished exchanging rupees just in time to see Zelda listing sideways. He rushed over, thinking to scoop her up, but she hugged his leg instead.
âThank you,â she said.
He blinked. âYouâre welcome.â He rubbed the back of his neck and looked up to see a sort of intense vacancy on Gotterâs face, totally fixed on Zelda.
Link hadnât planned on staying there overnight anyway, but it gave him the creeps. He whipped out the Sheikah Slate. âReady?â He asked.
Her face turned up, her eyes glazed and smeared face pale. âFor what?â
âLetâs get you somewhere to rest.â
âOh! Oh, there are beds here!â Gotter said.
Zelda started pulling herself up with Linkâs thigh as anchorage. He helped her. Gotter reached out a hand, then pulled it back with an odd littleâŠ
Giggle?
âOh- you have it, haha,â Gotter said.
Link had enough of the weirdness. âReady?â he asked again as her arms wrapped around his neck. At her nod, he reached around her shoulders and tapped the icon for the Myahm Agana Shrine.
He adored her little gasp by his ear as the blue energy shivered through them. It was lucky, reallyâhe could pass his own shiver off as that, instead.
--
They spent days just recuperating.
Zelda slumped onto a seat at his table as soon as they walked in, but he didnât let her stay there. He carried her to his bed, deposited her there, and took her sandals off for herâshe was already asleep.
He wrapped the comforter around her, grabbed a bedroll, and laid it out on the floor beside her. (This, it turned out, was unwise, since she stepped directly on his bladder about two hours later when she awakened to empty her own).
That incident aside, they each slept the rest of the night and morning away. Link awakened to the gentle pat of Zeldaâs fingers on his cheek, and he turned to find her hanging partway off the bed to reach him.
âWhere do you get your drinking water?â she asked.
Link was up like a shot and trotting to the well around back for her. He drew three hot baths that day, tooâtwo for Zelda and one for him.
Time passed in a complete haze while they got used to being rested, clean, fed, and safe again. Link kept startling with this sudden feeling heâd forgotten to do something importantâa false sense of urgency, leftover signals rattling around his nervous system (except on that first day, after Zeldaâs first bath, when he realized with horror the only womenâs clothing he had was his vai outfit, and he would feel like a monumental ass if he offered her that, so he offered his typical day clothes instead and that was worseâthe way she looked coming out of the bathhouse with his undershirt andâshorts?!).
âOh, uh,â he'd said with a nervous tremor in his voice. âYeah, so those are undershorts, the pants are-â
âToo tight, Iâm afraid,â sheâd said with a furious blush (Link felt awful for embarrassing her), âaround my- ah- posterior.â
Link had started to sweat as he feverishly searched his brain for the meaning of the word âposterior," which he knew he knew when his internal monologue wasn't screaming.
âPerhaps,â sheâd said, âyou could spare those Sheikah tights instead? They ought to stretch.â
âOh! Sure,â heâd said, extremely happy for the excuse to escape any potential revelation of his temporarily-depleted vocabulary.
He later had a small moment of enlightened panic when he realized how she mustâve known about his tights (âevery stepâ of his journey? Every single one?!).
There were quite a few other small panic attacks involved in not looking at all, not one little bit, at how those tights fit her. Eyes up, straight out at all times, absolutely no looking anywhere below neck-level at Zelda. None.
But apart from those things, his jumpiness was nothing but leftovers.
At first.

TotK Link
Okay, I know not everyone has played Tears of the Kingdom, nevertheless finished (I know I haven't), but I just have brainrot that I need to spread.
And I now have the platform to do so >:)
So, of course, Spoilers under the cut!
CW: Yandere, TotK spoilers!
ă»â„ă»So, this can go two ways. One, TotK Link is Wild who was taken mid-adventure with the other Links. Or, two, this is an entirely different Link, kind of like Calamity (AoC Link-- there are some great headcanons about him -> Here! Go check them out they are so, so good.).
ă»â„ă»I like both ideas! But, let's talk about the second option.
ă»â„ă»So, imagine, the chain and Reader are coming through a portal to this new Hyrule. Or, well, they think it's new. It's oddly reminiscent of Wild's Hyrule only...bigger. There are islands in the sky, holes covered in what appears to be malice in the ground. People are more abundant, there are towers standing, glowing a welcoming red rather than the golden towers in Wild's Hyrule.
ă»â„ă»It's so different, but yet so familiar.
ă»â„ă»Now, it's evident that this Link is a little more...Feral. Look at his hair and tell me otherwise, you can't. This man had won. He had won, gotten his victory over the Calamity and was supposed to have the rest of his life to settle down. But he didn't. It was ripped away from him once more. Not only that, but he was thrown back to square one. Gloom now riddled his veins making him feel like he was newborn fawn stumbling out of the Shrine once more. So he's probably livid. Angry with Hylia and fate, and Ganon and and and-
ă»â„ă»He has no patience left to offer.
ă»â„ă»Zelda was supposed to have unlocked her sealing powers, no? And she did nothing. Actually, that's a lie. She used them to save herself. He was left dying again and she saved herself. After he destroyed the Master Sword, the only thing that made him anyone, protecting her. Destroyed his arm. Destroyed himself. And she saved herself. Rauru had to protect him. Had to save his life before Zelda did.
ă»â„ă»So, yeah, he's a little less...companionable. He had to save someone who wouldn't give two shits about him again. He thought they had improved their relationship, but he guesses not. Betrayal runs deep in his gut, igniting a fiery inferno that burns on spite.
ă»â„ă»And the worst part about it? Everyone around him is praising that damned Princess. For the bare minimum. Showing them a recipe, building a school that should've been there years ago, hell, even just having a horse got her praise out the ass.
ă»â„ă»He was tired of it.
ă»â„ă»People stay out of his way a lot more. He wears a look that promises some form of harm should someone cross him, and he's more than willing to deliver. Because now, it's not just the one land of Hyrule. Now he has to deal with the Sky Islands and the Zonai creations. Now he has to deal with the depths and all of those creatures which just bring back the gloom he dispels. And he's so over it.
ă»â„ă»Now, picture if you will, Reader falling through the portal, separated from the chain, scared and alone. Reader thinking they're in Wild's Hyrule, but his doesn't quite look like this, does it? Reader thinking that, hey, at least they're hidden and in a forest, only Oh Sweet Goddess Above-- THE TREES ARE MOVING-
ă»â„ă»Reader doesn't know what to do because THE TREES ARE COMING AFTER THEM, they were forbidden from having a weapon (Because why would they be separated ever? They were there to protect their sweet reader? why would they need to burden themselves with a weapon when the Links could fight for their honor?), and THE TREES WERE ATTACKING THEM-
ă»â„ă»But, here comes their knight in shining armor- or some sort of blue tunic. Honestly, the tunic was styling if we're being honest; the open back and split sides along the hips? (Iykyk)
ă»â„ă»The trees are taken care of easily and the blond is turning to look at reader.
ă»â„ă»Reader just knows. "...I'm gonna guess your name is Link?"
ă»â„ă»And while on the outside, all he gives is a simple nod, it's anything but simple. You, this gorgeous being that he just so happened upon, recognized him. It seemed that without Zelda parading him about like some show dog for all of Hyrule, people didn't know who he was. but you? You did? You knew who he was? And the way you were staring at him was like you knew what he had done. The sacrifices he had given. And you were thankful and appreciative. Which was all he asked for.
ă»â„ă»You then thank him (You THANKED him) for saving your life and explain that you had been separated from your group. (Group? You had a group? And they just...let you out of their sight?) He offers to help you look for them and you eagerly accept.
ă»â„ă»Now, he latches onto you pretty quickly. Your already used to all the Link-isms so he isn't much different. The silence, the constantly guarded exterior, your used to all of it. And it just convinces him further that you're perfect for him.
ă»â„ă»Eventually the rest of the chain do pop up. But this Link isn't convinced their safe, after all, Ganon could make puppets out of everyone. Whose to say their not puppets or Yiga? It's better to stay with him, can't you see that?
ă»â„ă»The chain obviously have a different opinion on the matter, Legend all but Demanding you back. Hyrule and Four try to placate this Link, while Wild, Wind and even Twilight are trying to think of way of just scooping you up and running. Sky and Warriors are trying to barter with this Link (What does he want? Fairies? Potions? Money? They could have it all should he just give you back). Time is the only one to recognize that this is still a Link. He still wants what's best for you. That doesn't mean he trusts him.
ă»â„ă»If Fierce Deity and First are int he group at this point, they too are probably either trying to manipulate explain to this Link that they are in fact your aforementioned group or are just barely holding onto the shred of sanity left thats stopping them from simply doing away with this obstacle.
ă»â„ă»But this Link, like all Links, is stubborn. Not just a regular stubborn either. He has learned the hard way that if he wants something, he's going to have to fucking cling to it to keep it. And he's not losing you. Eventually they explain the situation after a bit of your pestering and he loosens up, just the slightest, to take in their words. That doesn't mean he lets go though. Oh no, he just lets them meander closer without threatening a flame throwing at them.
ă»â„ă»He's sort of indifferent to Wild, I would think, since they're kind of the same person. He was just dealt the shittier hand.
ă»â„ă»When asked where Zelda is, he simply points up (Maybe her name is Natura? Idk, I'm uncreative). He does not elaborate. They don't ask him to.
ă»â„ă»Now, it's obvious you have just claimed this Link. He's yours. Sorry not sorry. It's just a matter of taking him with you. He's insistent on not leaving your side. The Demon King isn't actually doing anything, other than unleash monsters the people of his land are already familiar with. This is obviously a new threat and he's a Link isn't he?
ă»â„ă»In terms of names? Maybe he's the hero of the Zonai because Tears of the Kingdom doesn't really give us much to work with. Maybe they call him both Zonai and Sage. I like Sage, so I'm going with that.
ă»â„ă»The way he fights is fast and brutal, delivering hits that dissipate his enemies own mobility before delivering a fatal last hit. He's a unit of a man, probably like Twilight, if not a little smaller. (Have you seen the shit he has to lug around? Mans is built.) Same height as Wild though, just more built.
ă»â„ă»As for the type of Yandere he is? He's on you. Constantly. He is hovering over you because anything and everything can be ripped away from him in an instant, as Hylia as so helpfully shown. He is making sure nothing gets the chance to get closer to you. And he's using his new abilities to do so. Wild is probably interested in the abilities and the arm and the tech, since his Hyrule, after Sage's, is the most technologically advanced.
ă»â„ă»He's inspecting your food, checking your person every time you disappear out of his sight for a second, snarling at people who attempt to talk to you.
ă»â„ă»The group have to keep him in check like an untrained puppy.
ă»â„ă»Oh, but how he laps up the attention Reader bestows upon him. He is such a cuddle hog and he knows it, smirking smugly at the others while you hold him close because oh how his arm hurts so badly, didn't you know? Oh, how the gloom has him feeling absolutely rotten, please can he just lay with you for a while? Just until he settles back once more? Pretty please?
Anyway, those are my thoughts for now, feel free to add your own!

âHey, gorgeous! How are you? Iâve been so worried about you!â John exclaimed enthusiastically into the phone.
âIâm pretty good, actually. How are things at Zeldaâs?â While you didnât necessarily want to know the answer, youâd always considered John a friend and knew he had your back. Which was why you decided to give him a call.
âOh girl, things have changed dramatically since you left!â
âReally?â
âYes! We got a new manager. His name is Rafael, but weâre allowed to call him Rafi. Heâs a dish and a half, let me tell you! Not like that last asshole.â
You chuckled. âGood, Iâm glad for you.â
âYeah, sucks for you though! If only you could have stayed. Hey, want me to put a good in for you with Rafi?â
âUmâŠno, thatâs okay, John. Iâm kind of happy where I am.â
âSeriously? Whereâs that?â
You told your friend about working at the cafe. Then proceeded to tell him how Harry got you the job.
âTo make a long story short,â you said, trying to do just that, âheâs not the jerk he appeared to be. AndâŠwellâŠnow weâre dating.â
âHold up! Stop right there. Rewind! I need to hear everything, Y/N! EVERYTHING!â
You laughed at the way John enunciated every syllable. And youâd expected as much. For the next hour, you went into every detail with him like he requested (at least as much as you were willing to divulge), and by the time you finished, it was time to get ready for your date with Harry.
âOh my God, girl, thatâs so crazy!â squealed John. âBut Iâm happy for you. If youâre happy.â
âI am.â
âGood. Just donât forget about me, okay? Pop in some time, maybe with Handsome.â
âI will,â you promised.
After pulling on a pair of jeans and a stylish top, you brushed your hair and touched up your makeup. You were meeting Harry at his place, where he was making you dinner again, and then you were going to a movie. It seemed to be the first Saturday you were both off since youâd met. And you were looking forward to having a normal, mundane date night.
The last couple weeks had been both hectic and amazing. Since that evening at the gallery, Harry had been extremely busy finishing up his moon series paintings. Donovan McNulty had still been showing interest in Harryâs art, and specifically voiced that he wanted to know the minute his newest pieces would be available. And youâd been picking up extra shifts at the diner to make a little extra money. But any moment you were both free had been spent together. You took turns, rotating your visits at each othersâ apartments. You enjoyed leaning against his kitchen counter while you watched him cook, and Harry enjoyed teasing Shae when she was around, and nibbling on the soft spot behind your ear as you watched TV when she wasnât there - and sometimes when she was.
Your feelings for him were growing daily, and while you told yourself it was still too soon to have such feelings, you used your free time away from him to write them down. You expressed every emotion from the way your heart skipped when youâd see him sitting in his usual chair at the cafe, to the way your body ached for him as you laid in your bed staring at the ceiling. You even included the way it had felt when youâd seen Nicolette at the cafe and at the gallery, even though Harry assured you tenfold that he had broken off all contact with her. You didnât want to be jealous of his ex. You knew deep down that it would not bode well if you were going to take this relationship to the next level. And you definitely wanted to.
Harry greeted you with a smile as he opened the door, a glass of wine already in his hand waiting for you. When you stepped inside, you gave him a quick kiss before accepting the glass and taking a sip.
âMmm, something smells yummy!,â you commented, turning for the kitchen.
âChicken Piccata with roasted radicchio and sweet potatoes,â Harry announced proudly as he followed you. âItâs almost ready.â
âChef Styles, when are you opening your own restaurant? This is way too impressive for just me.â
âYouâre the only one I care to impress,â he said, pushing your hair from your neck to softly brush his lips across your tender flesh.
You reached behind you for his hands, bringing his arms around your waist. He hummed against your skin as he gave you a squeeze. The timer on the oven sounded then with a friendly chime, and Harry hesitantly released you in order to remove its contents. Watching him serve up the meal, you joined him at the table with your wine.
âI have some news,â he announced after youâd taken your first bite and raved about its deliciousness.
âOh? What is it?â you asked enthusiastically.
âIâm having another gallery showing. For the moon series.â Harry stabbed his fork into his chicken before lifting his eyes to you.
âAre you kidding? That was quick!â
âWell, yeah,â he grinned. âI brought them yesterday for Sherrod to see. Apparently he phoned McNulty, gave him some rubbish about how brilliant they are, and heâs flying down Thursday to see for himself.â
Quickly dismissing the fact that heâd degraded his own art, because you knew he didnât really think it was rubbish, you focused on the positive.
âOh my God, Harry! Thatâs wonderful! Iâm really proud of you.â
âI know, babe. And I appreciate all the support youâve given me. You'll never know how much.â
âI have an idea,â you jested. âYou spoil me with this delicious food.â
âThatâs just because I can,â he winked. âAnd because I want to. Itâs not a payment.â
âGood to know,â you said before popping a bite of sweet potato in your mouth.
âI would like your help with something, though.â
âSure, anything.â
âCould you help spread the word about the exhibit?â Harry requested. âMaybe invite some friends? The more the better. The cocktail party was nice, but Iâd like it to be a massive event.â
âOoh, yes! Iâd love to!â
Rising from your chair, you reached over the table to plant a kiss on Harryâs lips, to which he happily accepted.
âWhen would you like to get your tattoo?â Harry asked as you laid twisted in the sheets, his bare thigh crossed over yours, his fingertips tracing nonexistent lines down your arm.
You turned your head to the side to look at him. If it was possible, he appeared even more beautiful than ever, his eyelids heavy, his pillowy lips swollen, his scruffy jaw threatening to produce more facial hair now that the morning was nigh. The evening of lovemaking had been blissful, Harry having brought you to orgasm not once, not twiceâŠbut three times. And while you worried youâd never walk again, the man beside you looked completely fucked.
You couldnât help but be elated by the knowledge that youâd made that happen.
âIâm not sure yet,â you whispered, reaching for his stubbly chin. âSoon, I guess.â
You felt Harry breathe out of his nose, and while he tried to hide it, you could detect the frown on his lips.
âDo you not want it?â he inquired after a beat.
âIâŠno, I do,â you nodded.
ââCause you donât have to get it,â Harry added. âThe one I designed, or any other one. If you donât want a tattoo, itâs fine. Iâll understand.â
âNo, I want one.â
Harry continued to draw his finger down your arm. You could tell the conversation wasnât over, but you were unsure what else to say. So you let Harry gather his thoughts instead. Finally he sighed, his gaze returning to your face.
âIâm sorry, baby.â
âWhat for?â you asked.
âIf I made you uncomfortable. It just dawned on me that I might have been a bit presumptuous with the tattoo. I know they can be very personal, and IâŠI should have just let you pick what you want.â
Blinking, you rolled over onto your side to face him. âHarry, no. Thatâs not it at all. I love the one you designed. I told you I loved that painting.â
âThen what is it?â Harry lifted a hand to brush your hair from your face, twisting the end of the strands between his fingers. âAny time I bring it up, you kind of hesitate or change the subject.â
âIâŠI didnât realize,â you looked down at his chest. âI apologize.â
âBaby, look at me,â he insisted, urging your chin up. âTalk to me. Are you af-â
You stopped him mid-sentence with your finger on his lips. As you shook your head, Harry chuckled. Then tugging on your wrist, he released your hand from his mouth.
âYou donât even know what I was gonna say,â he remarked.
âJust donât use that word.â
âAlright,â he softened his expression, returning his fingers to your hair. âAm I moving too fast for you? Is that it?â
You gulped and sucked in your lips. Then you let out a nervous chuckle of your own. âIt seems ridiculous to admit that after what we just did.â
âNot really,â Harry shook his head. âSex can be separate from feelings. AlthoughâŠIâm going to confess right nowâŠfor meâŠitâs not. Not with you.â
âHarryâŠâ you breathed.
âBabeâŠâ he murmured, pulling you closer. âI reckon Iâve conveyed my feelings for you alreadyâŠat least a little bit. But if you need me to back offâŠI will.â
You stared at him, this gorgeous man. You couldnât believe in just a few weeks youâd gone from hating him toâŠwhatever this was.
âNo,â you argued. âI donât want you to.â
âNo?â
âNo, becauseâŠIâm feelingâŠthings too.â
Harryâs voluptuous mouth curved into a sexy grin. You felt his hand on your back, his fingers dancing up your flesh.
âIâm justâŠa little hesitant, I guess,â you added, âabout getting the tattooâŠbecause itâs such an intimate thing to do, you know? To get ink on my skin of something you gave me, art you designed for me. And itâsâŠforever.â
Harry blinked slowly with a nod. âI completely understand, love. I didnât mean to pressure you.â
âYou didnât. Itâs just me. Like you said, itâs personal. And I would feel horrible if something happened between us, and-â
âShh, babyâŠâ Harry interrupted you this time. âItâs okay. I get it. Take all the time you need.â
You gave him a gentle smile before he pulled you into a deep kiss. Your eyelids heavy, and sleep threatening to take over, you tugged on the sheets. Getting the hint, Harry grinned, situating the covers over you before reaching for the lamp.
âGoodnight, baby,â he whispered. âSweet dreams.â
You hummed in agreement as he held you against his warm body, and before you could even think any more about tattoos, you were sound asleep in his arms.
The rest of Sunday and most of Monday was spent making phone calls. You promised Harry a grand party, and you were determined to deliver. After telling Shae your plan, she was more than happy to come through by offering to tell her coworkers as well as some of your mutual friends. You called John to let him know as well, and he said he was already going to ask for the night off, and maybe even bring Rafi with himâŠif he was available, as he put it. You also called the gallery Monday morning, unbeknownst to Harry, to speak with Sherrod yourself. He told you how excited he was for Harryâs new exhibit, which put your mind at ease a bit.
âI really want this to be special for him,â you explained. âIs there anything I can do to help? To get the word out? More advertising? Do I need to hire a caterer or something?â
âDonât you worry about a thing, darling,â assured Sherrod. âIâm already having my secretary making contacts as we speak. And I personally phoned my caterer on Friday.â
âOh, fantastic,â you said. âThe more people we can get to come, the better. Thereâs just one thingâŠâ
âDonât worry about that either, my pet. You have my word Miss Waters will not get an invite.â
âOhh. For some reason I thoughtâŠâ you chuckled nervously. âI donât know how art galleries work, forgive me.â
Sherrod laughed heartily through the phone, catching you off guard. âNothing to forgive, darling. Harry and I have already spoken about this as well.â
You breathed through your nose. Of course they had.
âThank you, Sherrod. I appreciate everything.â
âItâs going to be a splendid night, you can be sure!â
Hanging up, you felt a heavy weight lift off your chest. It was quickly replaced with a glittery excitement. You couldnât wait.
When you arrived for your mid-day shift at the cafe, you made a beeline for Jill who was making a cold brew for a customer. The look on her face when you told her the news about Harryâs exhibit was priceless.
âOf course Iâll be there!â she squealed. âAre you kidding me?â
âBring some friends too, okay? I want to show him all the support we can give.â
That night, you sat in front of the TV writing in your journal. You soon found yourself mindlessly doodling in the corners of the page. Harry was at work, and you didnât want to bother him. Yet you couldnât stop thinking about him. He truly had been the only thing on your mind all day.
âPppfff, more like for the last month,â you admitted out loud.
Tossing your notebook to the side, you leaned back on the couch and ran your fingers through your hair, letting out an exasperated sigh.
âJesus Christ, what am I doing?â
Getting up from the sofa, you slipped on your shoes, not bothering to change out of your lounge-at-home outfit - a dark green tunic and black leggings. The only effort you made was to brush your teeth and touch up your lip gloss before heading out the door.
The neon sign in the window seemed to glow brighter than you remembered, an enticing greeting to lure you in. Not that you hadnât already planned to go inside.
Swinging the door open, you noticed an empty waiting area and counter. Smooth, instrumental jazz played through the speakers as you peeked your head through the doorway to scan the tattoo stations, but still saw no one. You were just about to walk through the shop to Harryâs office when you saw Kyle emerge.
âOh, hey,â he grinned. âYouâre Y/N, right?â
âYes,â you nodded, happy that he knew. Surely he didnât remember you from the last time heâd seen you in the shop, but perhaps Harry had told him about you and he put two and two together. The idea made you blush a little.
âHarryâs in the back. Iâll go get him for you.â
Before you could retort, Kyle disappeared through the doorway from which heâd just appeared. And within seconds, your handsome, cheery boyfriend replaced him.
âHi, babe!â he beamed. âWhat are you doing here?â
You shrugged, shyly. âCame to get my tattoo.â
His eyes widening, Harry stepped closer to you. âReally? Are you sure?â
Licking your lips, you nodded. âPositive.â
His dimples on full display, Harry pulled you into an embrace. You could feel his heart beating in his chest as he whispered in your ear. âIâm so happy.â
Then stepping back, Harry gestured toward his station. âGo ahead and have a seat. Iâll get everything ready and tell Kyle he can go home.â
âOh!â you mouthed, surprised. Harry disappeared into the back room again before you could argue.
Situating yourself in Harryâs chair, you gazed at the art on display around his station as well as photos of various clientsâ tats. While a few pieces looked to be fairly common, most of them were exquisite, no doubt one-of-a-kind works of art. You were staring at a large dragon piece on someoneâs back when you heard a voice behind you.
âBye, Y/N,â Kyle called. âHave a nice night.â
âOh, thanks. Same to you,â you waved just as Harry walked up.
âYou didnât have to make him leave,â you said under your breath. âYouâre not closed yet, are you?â
âI am now,â Harry wiggled his brows before walking to the front door and locking it, turning the OPEN sign to the CLOSED side.
With pursed lips, you tried to hold back a smirk as Harry returned, his own smirk tugging on his mouth.
âSlow night?â you inquired when he sat down on his stool.
âYou would not believe. Thatâs why we were in my office. Kyle helps me with my website.â
You hummed in acknowledgement as you watched Harry get his tray ready just like he had the day youâd brought Shae. That already felt like a lifetime ago.
âYou always surprise me with your music choices,â you commented as you listened to the soft jazz.
Harry chuckled with a nod. âThis is my focus, slash wind-down music. Since it was slow, I switched it from grunge whilst we worked on the website.â
âI like it,â you grinned.
Harry gazed up at you from under his lashes before his eyes roamed down your body. You felt a tingle as his gaze made its way back up to your face.
âWhat?â you couldnât help but ask.
âWas just recalling the last time you were sat in this chair.â
âOh my God, Harry,â you blushed. âPlease tell me you sanitized it!â
His eyes squinting as he giggled, Harry scooted closer to you. âYouâre too much, babe.â
âWhy, because I like cleanliness?â
âNo, because thatâs your first thought. It certainly wasnât mine.â
You stared into his jade eyes that were now inches from your face, the irises appearing to have a dark line around them.
âThat wasâŠum, some kind of night,â you murmured softly.
âIndeed, it was.â Harryâs hand landed just above your knee then before he slid it slowly up your thigh.
âHmm,â you nodded. âAre you trying to seduce me again?â
Harry puffed out a chuckle. âNo. Donât reckon I had to try then either.â
Dragging your tongue across your teeth, you focused on his mouth and the way his hand felt on your leg. âFair enough. What do you remember most about that night?â
âHow sweet your pussy tasted on my tongue,â he quickly replied, as if heâd had his answer ready before youâd even asked the question. âAnd how you tugged on my hair and your thighs trembled as you called my name.â
âHarryâŠâ
âOh, it was much louder than that.â
You blushed again, but this time you didnât bother hiding it. Leaning towards you, Harry placed a soft kiss on your lips. Followed by a second, and a third. By the fourth, your fingers were in his hair, his tongue in your mouth. You reveled in the sensation, urging him with your own. When a gentle moan escaped your chest, Harryâs hand that had been on your thigh made its way between your legs. You began to grind against him in your seat, knowing your leggings and panties were already soaked through. His other hand traveled underneath your t-shirt, and when his fingers met your bare skin, you gasped.
âAre youâŠ,â you gulped, âplanning to eat me out again on this chair?â
âNo,â Harry shook his head, a devilish smirk on his face.
âOh.â
âI have other things in mind,â he added, echoing the exact words heâd said to you that night before taking you home.
âOhâŠâ
Harry sat back on his stool and raised a brow. âI thought you wanted a tattoo, love.â
âHarry Styles! Are you teasing me?â you exclaimed.
Giggling with glee, you noticed his eyes dancing. âMaybe.â
âRude!â you frowned, tugging your shirt down. Your pussy still throbbing from his hand, you pouted.
âIâm sorry, baby. Itâs my fault. Seeing you in this chairâŠit turned me on, and I got carried away. I do want to play. But I think we should get started on this tattoo, donât you? Itâs gonna take a bit.â
You nodded with a sigh. âOkay.â
Harry gave you a peck on the nose and one on the lips. âNow, did you decide where you want it? The ink, I mean,â he smirked.
âSo, I had considered getting it on my side, like down my hip. Thereâs plenty of room to make it big. But then I changed my mind.â
âToo much?â Harry asked.
âNope. Not enough.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âNobodyâs gonna see it there. Except you. And while the idea is sexy, Iâd rather have the art my boyfriend designed to be in a spot everyone could see.â
âBabyâŠâ Harry breathed, his hand over his heart.
âI know, Iâve been hesitant about this,â you explained. âAbout us. But I have no clue why. Weâve spent all this time together. Youâve shown me time again that youâre interested in more than justâŠa fling. Every time Iâm with you, I feel butterflies and moonbeams andâŠall the cheesy things.â You let out a nervous sigh as you looked down at your hands, then back up to his gorgeous face. âThe truth isâŠIâm crazy about you, Harry.â
âSweetheart,â he cried, pulling you into another kiss. Then leaning his forehead against yours he murmured, âYou make me so happy.â
âGood,â you grinned, your right hand on his cheek as you held out your left. âThatâs why I think we should put it right here, below my elbow, down the inside of my arm.â
âI think that would be lovely,â he agreed, misty-eyed. Then he kissed the inside of your wrist before rising from his stool. âLet me go get the stencil, and Iâll be right back.â
When he stepped away, you suddenly felt butterflies in your tummy, and not just from the notion of getting a tattoo. Youâd almost told him more than youâd planned. The truth was, you werenât just crazy about him. You were falling for him. Hard. Perhaps you had been falling bit by bit every day. And you were finally willing to admit it to yourself. But you werenât quite sure yet if you were ready to say it to him. It still felt too soon. But you loved the look on his face when youâd revealed what you had. His delight gave you hope that perhaps he felt the same.
Harry returned with a big smile on his face. Placing the stencil next to him, he pulled on his gloves. Then reaching for the rubbing alcohol and a cotton pad, he eyed you.
âStill wanna do this?â he asked.
âDefinitely,â you beamed.
Taking your arm, he gently rubbed the soaked cotton pad down your arm, from the elbow to your wrist. Then he took a new disposable razor and gently shaved the area, just like youâd seen him do on Shae, back when you still hated him. The idea brought a sour taste to your mouth.
âYou okay?â he asked again.
âYeah, sorry. Was justâŠthinking.â
âAbout?â Harry raised a brow.
âHow far weâve come in just a short time.â
Harryâs face softened. âI think about that a lot.â
âYou do?â
âI thank my lucky stars every fucking day that you forgave me. That you were able to see the real me and change your mind. I only wishâŠâ
âWhat?â you asked.
His gaze seemed to burn into you as he looked deep into your eyes. âI wish we had met some other way. Like some random day at the cafe, or maybe here when youâd come with Shae. Or maybe even at Zeldaâs on a night I was alone. Some other way that you could have met the real me instead of that prick I pretended to be.â
You sat in silence as you absorbed Harryâs words and watched him place the thermal paper on your arm with the stencil. When he peeled it off was when you spoke.
âWhat would you have said?â
âWhen?â
âIf we had met in a different situation. What would you have said to me?â
âIn which scenario?â he smirked.
âLetâs go with the first one. Obviously I wouldnât be working at the cafe. But letâs say I came in one day that you were sitting there working on your iPad.â
Harry chuckled loudly, catching you off guard. âWell, I canât really say for sure, can I? There are other factors involved.â
âAlright,â you agreed. âBut you said youâve thought about it. What happens in yourâŠwish?â
You swore you caught a tiny bit of color in his cheeks as Harry pulled his tray closer to him. âWe have to get serious now, babe. Iâm about to stick a needle in your arm.â
You puffed out a breath in humor, then sat up straight in your chair. âFine. Mark me.â
Harryâs nostrils flared as he chuckled at your joke. Then he made a few adjustments to his tattoo gun before getting to work. Surprisingly, it didnât hurt as bad as you thought it would. You watched as Harry traced the stencil, starting with the dripping moon at the top. After every stroke, he would wipe your skin. He seemed so focused, so gentle. You stared at his face for a little while, and every time heâd bite his lower lip, it sent your heart all aflutter. When he finished the outline, he looked up at you.
âStill doing okay?â
âMmhmm,â you nodded.
He gave you a smile before returning his focus to your arm. You were both quiet for a moment until he spoke again.
âI probably would have stared at you for a bit.â
âHuh?â
âAt the cafe. If you had been sat near me at a table by yourself. I would have kept sneaking glances at you, but making sure you didnât notice.â
âWell then, how am I supposed-â
âAt first,â he interrupted. âThen I would have wanted you to notice. When we finally made eye contact, Iâd have smiled at you.â
Lifting his head, Harry gave you just the smile he was referring to. And your insides ignited.
âI would say thatâs very cheesy and cliche, but itâs not. I like it.â
âSo what would you have done if Iâd come over to your table and asked you your name?â
âI would have told you, and hoped to God youâd ask me for my number too.â
âAlright then,â Harry snickered. âThatâs one scenario. But it didnât happen.â
âItâs fine, Harry,â you said. âSomething else happened instead. And weâre here anyway.â
âYes, we are.â
You watched Harry continue on the tattoo, the moon starting to look realistic with the shading. As always you were in awe of him and his talent. Just like when you would watch him work at the cafe, you found yourself completely mesmerized. It was utterly sexy to you, from the way he focused on his project at hand, to the curls that framed his face and neck, and even down to the way his own tattooed arms flexed as he worked. As you studied him you let out a deep breath, feeling the wetness pooling in your panties again.
âStill okay?â Harry suddenly asked with a tiny smirk, as if heâd noticed.
âIâm wonderful,â you answered dreamily.
âYou need to move your elbow a little?â
âOh. Yeah, sure,â you nodded as Harry sat back to let you. Your arm had been in one position for a while, and you were starting to feel the effects.
âOkay, Iâm good,â you commented as you reached your arm out again. âTell me about your next project. What are you working on?â
âJust a second,â Harry muttered. As he scooted closer again, you wondered what he was doing until he beckoned you with his gloved hand. âKiss me.â
You grinned widely before you happily obliged, giving him a few more kisses than heâd asked for just for good measure.
âMmm, thanks babe. Itâs hard to be around you for this long without touching your lips.â
âYouâre welcome. And youâre the sweetest.â
With a wink, Harry returned to his task, this time moving onto the shading of the heart. âI actually havenât started anything new yet,â he replied to your previous inquiry. âWith the moon series now at the gallery, Iâve kind of been trying to finish up some older pieces.â
âOh? I didnât know you had anything that was incomplete.â
âYeah. You saw the citiscape one, right?â
âYes, that was gorgeous! That wasnât finished?â
âNot yet. I keep feeling like thereâs something missing, butâŠI dunno. Iâm also not sure if I want it to be a series or a stand alone piece.â
âWell, whatever you decide, I know itâll be amazing. As always,â you offered emphatically.
âThanks, babe. This is whyâŠâ he left his thought unfinished as his tattoo gun rounded the edges of the heart.
âWhy what?â
Harry lifted his head, giving you an easy grin. âWhy youâre a wonderful lady.â
You watched Harry finish the heart on the tat while you thought your own heart could burst. You thought he was going to say it for a second, but you understood why he hadnât. It seemed like such a mundane moment to express those three words.
Changing the subject, Harry chatted with you lightly about the upcoming exhibit, about the cafe, about food. You told him about your pal John, and how he was planning to come as well as Jill and Shae.
âThanks again for doing this for me, babe,â he grinned. âI truly appreciate you.â
âOf course, Harry. I honestly think Iâd do just about anything for you.â
Raising his eyebrows, Harry gave you a sexy look before quickly looking back down at your arm. âI think weâre done, babe.â
âOh. Oh!â You tore your eyes from his to gaze down at your new tattoo. It was extraordinary to say the least.
âItâsâŠso beautiful, Harry,â you choked. âI love it!â
âItâs yours,â he commented. âAnd only yours.â
Your eyes began to well up with tears, making your vision too blurry to even see it. But you knew he was right. You had a one-of-a-kind Harry Styles work of art on your arm. And you couldnât be more proud.
âCâmere, you can look in the mirror,â Harry beckoned, gesturing to the mirror behind him on the wall.
Standing in front of it, you wiped your eyes with your fingers until Harry handed you a tissue.
âDonât cry, love,â he cooed. âYouâll make me think you made a mistake.â
âOf course not, silly man.â You stretched your arm down to look at the full length of the ink on your skin. âNo mistakes here.â
âIâm glad,â he sighed, wrapping his arms around you and resting his chest on your shoulder as you took in the image of you both in the mirror. Grabbing his phone, Harry then took a couple of quick photos of your arm. âLetâs go ahead and put a covering on that so it wonât get infected.â
âOh, how long do I have to do that? I wanna be able to show it off this weekend.â
Harry smirked at your pout. âJust a few days. You should be okay by then.â
Once again, you sat in his chair while he applied the dressing and bandage. Then he explained to you the aftercare, which made you giddy. You knew it was his job, but you enjoyed seeing him being professional.
âIâll give you some information to take home with you as well,â he added as he removed his gloves, âbut right now, I really need to touch you.â
You opened your mouth, but before you could make a syllable, Harry slid his hands under your jaw and pulled you into a warm kiss. He soon deepened it, his tongue invading your mouth as his hands traveled around your neck to your hair. When he finally released you enough to take a breath, you gasped.
âWow.â
âUh huh,â he voiced so low that you barely heard it. Then he licked his lips before sliding his hand up your thigh like before. âExactly.â
You stared at Harry, his eyes darkening as he fingers began to tease you between your legs.
âSo, whatâŠmmm,â you swallowed at the sensation, âwhat other things did you have in mind?â
âOh, you really wanna know?â he quirked a brow.
âMmhmm. Yes, please.â
âHmm, you ask so politely. But I might wanna keep teasing you like this. Make your legs tremble until you canât stand it anymore. Until youâre begging for me to make you come.â
âMmm,â you moaned again as he applied more pressure with his thumb, his hand cupping you, still over your clothes. âI donât think I would be opposed to that.â
âNo? You like being teased?â
âI like the way you tease,â you replied, breathy.
A low chuckle rose from his throat, and you felt the vibration as his face was just inches from yours. Then he surprised you by rising from his chair, his hand leaving your throbbing core to tug on the bottom of your t-shirt.
âOff, sweetheart,â he demanded.
You lifted your arms for him to remove your top, careful of your freshly tattooed area. You nearly came unglued at the sight of him biting his bottom lip.
âSorry I donât have on fancy undies,â you said, looking down at your cotton bralette.
âAre you kidding?â he snorted before he helped you remove that garment as well, his hands quickly palming your bare breasts.
You closed your eyes, reveling in the pleasure of his calloused thumbs skimming across your perky buds. He was so light and gentle with his touch, that you almost pouted, but you knew this was his intention. To drive you crazy.
He kissed you again, his hands still on you until he backed away suddenly. You opened your eyes to see him removing his own shirt, his tattooed torso on display. Your mouth watered instantly, an automatic reaction now.
You and Harry had good sex. There was no denying it. Not that you liked to compare, but Harry was the best in bed. He already knew what you liked, what buttons to press and which ones not to (not that there were many). But the best thing about the sexual part of your relationship was that it was never boring. Even when it was just quick fucking, it was amazing. Even when it was sweet, sleepy sex, you were left satisfied.
So Harry implying - albeit obviously - that he wanted to fuck you on that tattoo chair was no surprise. But the thrill was still as strong as ever. Everything he did excited you. Jesus, just looking at him sent a bolt of electricity down to your cunt, making you squeeze your muscles together.
Letting out a breath, you reached for his belt, pulling it from the loop and releasing it. He gave you another smirk as you tugged on his jeans with your non-tattooed arm, frustrated when the button wouldnât come loose.
âLet me help, baby,â he growled, keeping your hand in position as he covered it with his own hand and helped you pull. The button popped open, the zipper separating along with it as your tug was determined. Then Harry assisted you further, his hand guiding yours down the front of his pants.
âAs if you had to help me with that,â you scoffed with a grin.
âMaybe I wanted some help,â Harry eyed you.
âI donât think thatâs necessary either, big boy.â
His sexy low chuckle vibrated through your hand while you found you were a hundred percent correct. Standing from the chair, you pulled him from the confines of his jeans, the pink, bulbous head of his hard cock greeting you.
âMmm,â you sounded. âMaybe I could help a little.â
You released his erection for just a moment to run your hands down his chest, your fingernails raking over his pecs and the light dusting of chest hair around his nipples. But it didnât take long for Harry to reach for your tits again, squeezing them in his hands.
âWaitâŠI thought I was supposed to be teasing you,â he groaned.
âSo you donât want your cock in my mouth?â you teased back.
Harry chuckled, shaking his head. âFuck, babe, I donât know anymore. Youâre so hot. Iâm so turned on.â
âI can see that,â you grinned, wrapping your palm around his cock again. Before he could protest, you fell to your knees.
âBabeâŠâ you heard as you barely licked the tip.
âJust let me, Harry. Please? Iâm begging,â you looked up at him with puppy dog eyes, batting your lashes.
Letting out a breathy chuckle, Harry gave you permission with a nod and heavy eyelids. You took your time, wetting the head first, then slowly dragging your tongue underneath his length, from the base to the tip. Then licking your lips, you wrapped them around his hard cock, giving a generous amount of suction.
You heard his heavy breathing get louder and faster as you steadied yourself with your other hand on his hip. His own hands were everywhere at first, starting in your hair, then trying to paw at your breasts, then finally settling back on your head, gently urging and guiding you.
âFuck, baby, youâre so good at this.â
Youâd never considered yourself a pro at giving head. You couldnât even take all of him, for fear of choking. But he didnât seem to mind. Your mouth and tongue along with your hand seemed to do the trick. After a few more swirls of your tongue, you allowed your other hand to reach underneath, grabbing his balls. He moaned loudly, another expletive rising from his chest.
âBaby. Baby, baby, stop. I donât wanna come yet.â
Popping off of him, you smiled up at him, saliva dripping from your chin. You enjoyed pleasuring him, but you were excited to move on to phase two. With another low groan, Harry ran his thumb across your chin, guiding you back up to your feet.
âY/N. I need to be inside you. Now.â
âAw, you mean I donât have to beg?â
Harry didnât bother replying with words. Instead, he pulled down your leggings with fervor, your panties clinging to them so they slipped down together, pooling around your ankles just like Harryâs jeans.
âTurn around, sweetheart,â he patted your hip while wiggling his brows.
More electricity surging through you, you happily did as you were told, bending over the tattoo chair. You felt Harry run his hands down your ass before grabbing your hip and situating himself at your entrance. He slid in slowly at first, like he always did in order to get adjusted. But as soon as he let out a gasp that echoed your own, you knew it wouldnât be long before he started to move faster.
Harder. His fingers dug into your flesh as he pounded into you. You bit your lip at first, then thought it silly since you were alone. As you began to moan, so did Harry. The sounds intertwined with the sexy, slow jazz were intoxicating. And when Harry bent over to grab your hair and talk in your ear, you thought you might come.
âPussyâs so good, baby. Been thinking about it all day. Always so wet for me.â
âMmmm,â was all you could manage.
âYou like me fucking you like this?â
âYes!â
âYou like my hard cock pounding into you, my balls slamming against your wet pussy?â
âGod, yes!â
âYeah. Itâs mine, innit? Your gorgeous cunt is all mine.â
âMmhm.â
âTell me.â
âItâs all yours, Harry. Iâm all yours.â
Moaning in your ear, Harry slowed down. You wondered for a moment what was happening as you knew he hadnât come yet. Then you felt a chill on your back as he stood up, his hands at your hips.
âLetâs get these off the rest of the way,â he said with heavy breaths, indicating your pants.
Blinking, you wiped your eyes and toed off your shoes, stepping out of the leggings as you watched Harry do the same with his jeans.
âSorry, babe, for the interlude,â his voice cracked. âI wanna try something else.â
âOkay.â
You watched as he readjusted the chair to lay flat. Then he laid down on it.
âCâmere, babe,â he beckoned. âClimb on top of me.â
You shifted your eyes nervously. âAre you sure we wonât break it?â
âOnly one way to find out,â he smirked.
Sucking in your lips, you climbed on with Harryâs assistance. You giggled at the awkwardness of it all as you straddled him.
âJust a second, honey,â he said when you were about to aim his cock. âLet me look at you.â
You glared at him, once again wondering what was going through his head. He acted as if heâd never looked at you before. But as you smiled down at him, his own lips grew into his dimpled grin, making you warm all over. He brushed your hair from your face, his thumb grazing across your cheek.
âYouâre like an angel,â he murmured. âYou take my breath away.â
âHarryâŠâ you exhaled.
âIâm all yours too, honey.â
You beamed at him, knowing it was a reply to your previous admission. Then lifting yourself onto your knees, you looked into his eyes as you sank down onto his cock. You hissed as he closed his eyes, both of you already sensitive.
You rode him with determination, needing to chase the release. After bouncing on him a few times, Harry took your left hand and held it to his chest, making sure you didnât put too much pressure on that arm. You giggled awkwardly as you tried to keep your balance, but your boyfriend was good at helping.
As you started to reach your high, the burn imminent both in your thighs and your core, you began to cry out.
âHarryâŠ.itâs so good, babyâŠoh, GodâŠHarryyyyy.â
Bucking his hips against you, his hands both now on your own hips, he stared you in the eyes.
âI know, honey. Tell me.â
âMmmmmâŠIâm all yours, Harry,â you bit your lip, throwing your head back.
âY/N. Look at me.â
Blinking, you gazed down at him, his gorgeous face flushed. He groaned in pleasure before wrapping his arms around you.
âTell me, baby. I wanna hear you say it.â
âWhat?â
âTell me you love me.â
Your eyes widening, you stared at him inâŠno, not disbelief. Because you absolutely believed it.
âI know you feel it, baby. Just like I do. Tell me. Please.â
Youâd slowed down your hips, Harry having paused his thrusts. But as you began to resume, moving faster, his gorgeous mouth hanging open, you nodded.
âI love you, Harry.â
His lips twitched before he licked them, then pulled you to him for a kiss.
âI love you, too, Y/N.â
A tiny giggle escaped your throat as realization kicked in. You were in love. And all his.
You rode Harry to the finish, reaching orgasm just before he cried out those three words again. He kissed you deeply, his tongue letting you know how pleased he was. His head falling back, his eyes closed in complete bliss, the biggest, dopiest grin on his face.
âSay it again, babe.â
You kissed his salty chest and neck, then gnawed on his stubbly chin.
âI love you,â you sang softly before kissing his lips.
âAnd I love you,â he echoed while your face hovered over his, your hair surrounding you both like a secret garden. âSo much.â
Chatter filled the room and your ears as you suddenly heard the clink of a fork against glass.
"Ladies and gentlemen! A toast! To our man of the evening!" announced Sherrod. Harry turned to him with a bashful grin. "It has been my utmost pleasure to host this soiree for such an incredible artist. He is a viable part of this community, and I know you all join me in congratulating him at completing another remarkable series. To Harry Styles!"
As everyone clapped and cheered, raising their glasses, you heard Stan shout, "Hear, hear!"
Smiling at your boss, whom you had been thrilled to see arrive with his wife, you watched him make a taste of his own.
"Harry, my son, I've watched you sit at that same table in my cafe for over a year, doodling on your notepads andâŠthingamajigâŠ" he gestured, making the guests chuckle. "To be honest, I didn't understand why my coffee shop, or why that tableâŠor why only flat white lattesâŠ" more laughs erupted as he patted Harry on the shoulder. "But I knew you had talent. And ambition. I'm proud of you, son. And I'm proud to say I knew you when."
"Hear, hear!" Sherrod and others cheered, raising their glasses again.
"Thank you, Stan. Thank you Sherrod," Harry choked. "This whole night means more to me than you'll ever know. All of you. I'm so humbled that each of you came tonight. This truly was special. I'll never forget it."
Harry's eyes met yours during his final words. Then as the chatter resumed, he stepped forward and pulled you into a long kiss.
"Alright you two," said Jill behind you. "Don't go find a room just yet. I need to take pictures."
You giggled as your friend held her phone up and you posed for several photos with Harry, including one where you were kissing him on the cheek. Satisfied with her shots, Jill squealed with joy and announced she had to take some more with her other friends next to Harryâs art.
A waiter came by then with more champagne, and you gladly took another glass, handing him your empty one.
âIâm so happy to see you having a good time,â beamed Harry, his arm still around you.
âI may have had a few too many of these,â you snickered, covering your mouth with your hand.
âNo matter. We have that limo, thanks to you.â
âYou can actually thank Shae. It was her idea.â
âWhere is Shae, by the way?â Harry turned his head to search for your roommate. He spotted her next to the shrimp, talking to Kyle. His chest shook with laughter as he turned back to you.
âWhat?â you asked. âKyleâs a nice guy, right?â
âYeah. Too nice. Sheâs probably giving him an earful, and Iâll have to hear about it later.â
You playfully slapped his arm in your friendâs defense, though you knew he was right.
âGood idea, by the way, showing off your tattoo right away. I already have some clients lined up.â
âThatâs awesome!â you cheered. You figured one of them was the nice lady you were talking to last time, since you saw her again soon after youâd arrived.
âHarry, my good man, congratulations!â another voice sounded. You both swiveled to see Carlo, his arm already stretched to give Harry a hug.
âThank you so much for coming, Carlo.â
âAnything for you, my friend! Y/N, I donât believe youâve met my beautiful wife, Jossalyn.â Carlo gestured to the stunning tattooed brunette to his right.
You both gave each other salutations before Harry pulled her into a hug as well. Then they announced their exit and said their goodbyes.
âYou have a lot of friends and admirers, Harry,â you commented.
He nodded. âSeems that way. I need to remember to count my blessings.â
You lifted your hand to his handsome face, and he covered it with his own, gently shutting his eyes.
âY/N! We have to be going, guys!â John shouted, breaking your reverie.
âJohn, thank you so much for coming!â you told him as you squeezed him. âAnd for bringing Rafi.â
âTold you heâs a dish,â he whispered in your ear.
You nodded as you watched his partner shake hands with Harry, then you did the same. As soon as they left, Harry leaned into you.
âRafael is interested in my art.â
âYour art, or something else?â you quirked a brow. âI saw how he looked at you earlier.â
Harry cackled. âI promise it was strictly a professional conversation. But if it makes you feel any better, Iâll remind him Iâm taken.â
As he slid his arm back around your waist, you shook your head as you smiled up at him. âI was teasing you. I wouldnât blame anyone in this room for wanting a piece of youâŠprofessionally or otherwise. But I appreciate the sentiment. Also, I trust you.â
âYeah? Iâm glad, baby.â
Harry brought his hand up to slide under your jaw, and he was just about to kiss you when the other man of the hour interrupted.
âHarry, lad, I have an early flight in the morning, so I must bid farewell,â said Donovan McNulty. This evening he wore a black suit with a red bowtie. You smiled at him, holding out your hand.
âMr. Nulty, thank you so much for coming. Youâve made Harry so happy.â
Donovan leaned in and kissed your cheek, then the other. âMy dear, I reckon itâs the other way around. Besides, it looks like heâs found his happiness right here, with his muse.â
He gave you a wink as he squeezed your tattooed arm before shaking Harryâs hand and waving goodbye.
The party continued for another hour or so. You and Harry both gave a lot more thank yous and farewells. Then when no other guests remained (Harry insisted on seeing everyone out to show his appreciation), Sherrod finally shooed you out to the limo.
âThanks for helping with everything, sweetheart,â cooed Harry as he necked you in the back of the car.
âI didnât do much,â you conveyed. âSherrod set up most of it.â
âNo, you did more than you know. I love and appreciate you.â
âSame here, handsome,â you grinned before caressing his soft lips. âBy the way, I have something to show you when we get to your place.â
âYeah? Is it under your dress?â
You giggled as his hand wandered under the flimsy fabric of the new dress youâd purchased just for this occasion.
âNo,â you playfully tugged at his wrist. âItâs something I left there while we were getting ready. Itâs in your nightstand.â
âHandcuffs?â
âNo! Harry Styles, Iâm trying to be romantic and open, and youâre being naughty.â
âOh. Iâm sorry, babe. I canât help it. Itâs just where my mind went.â
âItâs okay,â you tutted.
âWhat is it?â
âYouâll see.â
Harry held your hand as he walked you to his apartment. The glow of the moon shone through the balcony doors, punctuating the end of the moon-themed evening like a full stop. Although you werenât ready for it to end just yet.
You laid your clutch bag on the counter next to his keys and wallet before he pulled you in for yet another kiss. Throwing your arms around his neck, you let his tongue tangle with yours, tasting the champagne youâd both consumed. Then he lifted you up, wrapping your legs around his waist as he carried you into the bedroom.
âAre you gonna show me now?â he asked between kisses after he laid you down.
You simply nodded, then reached for the bedside table, opening the top drawer. You retrieved a small notebook, the one youâd been writing in. Opening it, you flipped to the page you wanted to show him. When you handed it to him, he looked at you inquisitively.
âWhatâs this?â he asked.
âRemember when you asked me if I had a hobby, something that I was passionate about? And I mentioned I used to write?â
âYeah, I do.â
âYou inspired me.â
With an easy grin, Harry sat back on the pillows, crossing his ankles. You sat next to him, your legs tucked underneath you as you bit your bottom lip nervously.
Brilliant, blazing, glistening, glittering
The celestial satellite shines by the light reflected from the sun
Its beautiful mystery soothingly captivates us
All aglow, seemingly from within
Feminine energy that affects the rise and fall of the tides
A big balloon, luminous and serene
These are words used to describe the moon
But they are also words to describe my heart
For my heart is now a big balloon
All aglow and alight from within
From the light of your heart, the sun
Brilliant, blazing, beautiful
Wondrous and astral, my heart is now home
Lowering the notebook after reading your poem, Harry looked at you.
âItâs kinda short,â you offered with a hesitant chuckle. âBut it took me forever.â
âBaby,â he said, scooting closer to you and reaching for you. âThis is beautiful.â
âReally?â you crinkled your nose, still not completely confident.
âYes, baby, really. I love it. I love you.â
Your expression softened, easing into a smile. Harry pulled you to his chest, brushing your hair back from your face.
âThank you for writing it, but even more, for sharing it with me.â
âI figured I should, since you share so much with me.â
âThatâs what I mean, love. Not only did you share your heart with me, but you put it into words on paper. Itâs stunning. IâmâŠâ
His hands still in your hair, he paused his words.
âWhat?â you asked as you saw a tiny tear escape from the corner of his eye and down his cheek. âHarryâŠâ
âCanât help it, baby,â he choked as you wiped the tear. âIâve fallen so hard for you.â
âMe too,â you whispered.
âTell me again, Y/N.â
âI love youâŠâ you said, his lips capturing yours once again before you could say his name.
You didnât mind that he asked you to say those words. In fact, you liked it. You would tattoo it on your heart if you could.

Chapter 7- The Meeting
The letter from Link has been haunting Zelda since sheâs read it. She had planned to meet with the resistance in two days, and even moved her schedule around for it, but Link was demanding to meet with them now. It seemed that they would be here tonight, but Zelda was struggling to make time to meet them.
During the many meetings, it was all she could think about. How she was going to get to Telmaâs bar, how she was going to disguise herself as Sheik, what she was going to say to Edmund and Amber. She was probably going to miss supper for this, but it was fine, this was more important than supper. She just wished that it hadnât happened so last minute.
Goddesses, why couldnât they wait two more days?
She didnât pay attention to any of the meetings, anxious to get them done and to leave to get to the next one. Sheâd nearly fallen asleep countless times, and Edmund would discreetly wake her back up so she wouldnât humiliate herselfâwhich she was grateful for. She really wasnât fit for any of this queen business at the moment, but there was so much to do, such little time.
As soon as the current meeting ended, Zelda found herself sitting in her chair, staring blankly at the wall instead of rushing to get to lunch. This was her only break, and she didnât have the energy to move. Edmund didnât move either, and he spoke to the nobles and representatives for Zelda as she stared. Soon the room was empty, and the two were left alone.
âZelda,â Edmund started softly.
âItâs fine, Edmund. I just need a moment.â
Edmund stared at her. âYou werenât at breakfast.â
âNo I was not.â
âYouâve missed breakfast these past few days.â
âI have.â
âAnd youâre about to miss lunch.â
âThatâs fine.â
âAnd you look like death.â
Zelda gave Edmund an annoyed look and he leaned forward. âZelda, youâre killing yourself. Why donât you tell me everything thatâs happening? Why donât you let me help?â
Zelda continued to stare silently, not in the mood to argue.
âLook, Iâm worried about you. I do⊠care about you. We were good friends as kids, and those memories I canât forget. I want you to be taken care of, is that so wrong?â
Zelda stayed silent.
âYouâre exhausted and youâre hungry,â Edmund continued when she said nothing, âI donât want to think about how dehydrated you are. Just, come to lunch, take a break, and take care of yourself.â
âI canât take a break whenever I want, I have too much to doââ
âOh my Labryn, Zelda, the nobles can wait! They can wait for you! You need to take care of yourself first!â
Zelda sighed and stood up. âIâm not in the mood for this right now, Edmund.â
âWhen will you be in the mood? When youâre on your deathbed? Iâm not wanting to wait until then!â
The queen didnât respond and went to walk away. It was childish to not say anything, but she was too tired to argue. Too tired to think of something to say. She was just⊠so tiredâŠ
She reached the door and leaned against the wall, holding her aching head. She suddenly felt lightheaded and sick to her stomach. She heard footsteps approach her from behind and she gave Edmund a glare.
âZelda?â
She huffed and reached for the door, but black dots appeared in her vision, and she felt herself begin to stagger.
âZelda!â
Her stomach did somersaults as she began to fall, and soon she was surrounded by darkness.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sun was beginning to set as Rusl and Link arrived at castle town. They moved quickly through the field, and Link could tell Epona was enjoying the free movement. She had become just as stir-crazy as he did after his adventure, so when she had a chance to move around outside of Ordon, she clearly enjoyed herself. When they arrived, they quickly got off their horses and headed into the town, trying not to take up too much space with their large animals. Normally, Link would let Epona roam free in the field while he did his errands in town, but after what heâs found out, he decided against it. It took a while to get to the bar; surprisingly the town was busy despite the day coming to an end, and people were always blocking their way, causing the horses to grow upset with the small space. Rusl and Link finally were able to tie their horses to a post near Telmaâs bar where less people were at, and they hopped down the stairs and entered it. The bar was relatively empty, save for a few patrons who were quietly drinking by themselves. As usual, the place was dark and was only lit up by torches and candles scattered throughout. In the back, Telma and Auru were chatting at the table they all normally sat at, and Telmaâs face lit up when she saw the two men, quickly burying them both in a hug when they got close.
âLink! Rusl! Itâs so good to see you two!â She exclaimed, giving their shoulders a firm pat when she pulled away. Link smiled politely and let her lead the two men to the back table, where Auru was smiling.
âI figured youâd both be here tonight,â Auru said, ruffling Ruslâs hair as he sat down. âSo whatâs going on?â
âIâll explain everything after Ashei and Shad get here,â Rusl said simply, fixing his ruffled hair.
âHm, we sure theyâll be here tonight? This was pretty last minute.â Auru asked, leaning forward to look at both Rusl and Link.
âI know, I know itâs inconvenient but⊠itâs important,â Rusl frowned as Telma set down a mug of ginger ale in front of him, which he began to pick at mindlessly. âMe and Link found whatâs been causing these disappearances, thereâs no need to waste time anymore.â
Auru raised his eyebrows and he nodded knowingly. âWell then, that is quite important.â
Link nodded, staring at the milk in front of himâneither him nor his father bothered to drink anything. It was silent for a moment until Rusl awkwardly cleared his throat, catching Link and Auruâs attention.
âWell, weâre lucky youâre here, we wonât have to wait for you. Youâre a lot harder to get a hold of than the others,â Rusl stated with a smile, and Auru gave a hearty laugh.
âOh, my boy, I havenât left castle town in weeks.â
âDid Sheik send you a letter?â
âHe did. He told me to ask around castle town to gather information. Itâs the only thing Iâm capable of doing now,â Auru leaned back in his chair and stretched slowly, a pained expression on his face. âIâm getting too old for all this action.â
Rusl frowned and went back to staring at his drink. Link studied his fatherâs face, but it remained blank. When he really wanted to be, he was a master at hiding his emotions. There was a moment of silence again, being interrupted by Telma coming by to bring food for the two men, and Link couldnât help but cheer softly.
âOh goddesses, thank you Telma,â he said, already digging in, âIâm starvinâ.â
Telma laughed and patted his shoulder. âI figured youâd both be hungry from the journey!â
âAw, you didnât have to do that, Telma,â Rusl chuckled slightly, and Telma lightly punched his shoulder.
âOh, you hush, itâs the least I can do for my friends! Now eat up while we wait for the lovebirds to arrive!â
Link stared at Telma as she walked away, and he turned to look at Auru. âAre Ashei and Shadââ
âEngaged.â
Linkâs mouth dropped. âEngaged? When did this happen?â
âA couple of weeks ago.â
Rusl and Link both glanced at each other in shock. Link knew that there was something going on between them, but after ten years, he figured that it was nothing.
âHow did you know about this?â Link asked.
âThey announced it when they stopped by,â Auru explained, gesturing with his hands. âI hang around here most of the time so me and Telma got to hear about it.â
âItâs about time,â Rusl scoffed, a teasing smile on his lips. âThose two were drivinâ me crazy!â
âNo kidding! Itâs a little late though. I doubt Ashei would be able to have kids at her age.â
Ruslâs face scrunched up. âWhat are you talkinâ about? Sheâs barely thirty! And youâre a fool if you think that Ashei and Shad would even want kids.â
âOh come now, theyâre good with kids!â
Rusl gave Link a look and he snorted. They both knew that they were terrible with kids. They could keep them alive, but they couldnât keep them from crying. Auru rolled his eyes and waved his hand away.
âI just think itâs a waste to get married and then not have kids.â
âThatâs an old way of thinking, Auru,â Rusl said, finally taking a sip of his ginger ale. âSome people donât need to have kids. It ainât our business what they want to do anyways.â
Auru scoffed slightly, but he didnât continue. Link continued to eat in silence, not realizing how sloppy he was being. He was ravenous. He felt Auru watching him and he looked up.
âWhat?â
âYouâre eating like a growing teenage boy. When was the last time you ate?â Auru teased slightly, and Link scratched the back of his head.
âItâs⊠actually been less than two days,â he muttered, giving Rusl a look. Neither of them ate dinner before searching the woods. They spent the next day sleeping and then the whole day traveling. Auruâs eyes widened when Rusl and Link remained silent, both having guilty looks on their faces.
âNeither of you have eaten in two days?â He asked, shocked.
âMaybe a bit longer than thatââ Link muttered, and Rusl jabbed at him lightly.
âItâs fineââ Rusl quickly said, but Auru shook his head.
âEat that food Telma gave you, boy!â He commanded in a stern tone. Rusl quickly turned to the food and started eating it, looking like a guilty kid. Link snorted slightly and his pa glared him down. Auru patted his back with a satisfied look and leaned back.
âMustâve been a crazy few days. What did Sheik have you do?â
âHe wanted us to investigate a missing woman and Goron from Kakariko,â Link answered since Ruslâs mouth was full of bread.
âAh, so thatâs how you found it.â
Link glanced at Rusl who went back to staring blankly at the food. Auru picked up on the mood change and frowned.
âWhat is it?â
âWeâll explain when Shad and Ashei get here,â Rusl said quietly. Auru looked between the two and frowned.
âAlright,â he said, a worried look on his face as he stared at Rusl. It grew silent at the table again and the old man glanced up, his face lighting up. âSpeaking ofâŠâ
Link turned around and saw Ashei and Shad walking to the group. Ashei looked annoyed while Shad smiled at the group. Rusl turned as well and shot up from his seat, marching towards the two.
âHey! You two jerks!â He shouted, pulling them both into a hug. âYou canât just get engaged and not tell me!â
âWell next time, be here when we visit!â Shad teased, hugging him back. Ashei smiled slightly and gave Link a nod as he walked up to the two.
âWhenâs the wedding?â Rusl asked, his hands on the twoâs arms.
âDonât know yet, weâre just playing it by ear,â Shad answered, looking at Ashei who nodded.
âWeâre in no rush,â she added.
âWell, you better have me as your best man, alright?â Rusl said with a smirk.
âMy dear Rusl, I wouldnât have it any other way!â Shad laughed. He glanced at Link and walked towards him. âAnd how are you doing, old boy?â
Link chuckled and gave him a side hug. âIâm doinâ fine. Iâm happy for yâall!â
âOh thank you,â Shad glanced at Ashei who was chatting with Rusl, a happy expression on his face. âI wouldnât have imagined being with her, but here we are.â
âLove is a fickle thing, isnât it?â
âIndeed it is.â
Rusl and Ashei walked up to the two. âLetâs sit down and talk, yeah?â Ashei started, âI want to know why you both were so intent on meeting today.â
âWe canât, not without Sheik,â Rusl sighed, sitting down. âHeâs not here yet.â
âThis has been eating me up inside, and youâre saying I have to wait longer?â Shad said lightheartedly.
Ashei pulled Shad down in the seat next to hers and gave him a look. âSheik may be busy, this was pretty last minute, yeah?â
âSo Iâve been told,â Rusl grumbled. Auru patted him on the shoulder with a chuckle, and the group started to lightly poke fun at Rusl. Telma came by with food and drinks for the couple that arrived, and she closed the curtains to give them privacy.
âTell me when you start talking about what happened,â she said, âI still have work to do, but Iâll be sure to kick everyone out.â
âSure thing Telma,â Link said with a nod, and the curtains were fully closed, leaving the group isolated from the drunkards that came to the bar.
âSo⊠what did Sheik have you two do?â Link asked the couple, and they glanced at each other.
âSheik told us to help investigate the disappearances with a captain named Hoz,â Ashei answered. âWe really werenât finding anything of importance though.â
âAh, did you come here with him?â
âNo, he was quite intent on continuing the investigations,â Shad jumped in, pushing his glasses up his nose. âThat was the most focused soldier of Hyrule Iâve ever met.â
âItâs good, Hyrule needs more men like him,â Ashei said, staring at her drink.
âThough he was sort of a pain to work with,â Shad mumbled.
Ashei snorted. âHe was. Everything needed to go his way otherwise he would implode.â
â... Does Hyrule still need more men like him?â Auru asked cheekily, and Ashei glared at him.
âYes.â
Shad laughed slightly and sat up straight. âYes yes, he was still good to work with. Iâm glad that some soldiers are still trying to do their jobs.â
Ashei gave a knowing nod and took a sip of her drink as the others mumbled in agreement. The group started to chat about mundane things, how they were doing, how the families were doing, and what they had planned afterwards. Link was constantly looking over his shoulder, expecting Sheik to suddenly appear (which he did every time they met up), yet there was no sign of him. Rusl was getting more anxious as the evening went on, constantly fidgeting with his hands or pacing the small room, pretending to be observing the wall. Soon it became too lateâthe bar was fully empty as Telma closed it down and kicked out angry drunks, and the only area lit up was the back room where the resistance sat. Yet no sign of Sheik, and Auru finally let out a loud sigh.
âI donât think Sheik is coming.â
âWe just need to be patient,â Ashei said, âsheâs a busy person.â
Auru frowned. ââShe?â You think Sheikâs a woman?â
Asheiâs eyes widened for a moment, but she quickly recovered. âW-well, Sheik is just a mysterious person, thatâs all. I uh⊠say she could be a woman⊠or⊠something.â
The group stared at Ashei who stared hard at her drink.
âAnd what makes you think theyâre a woman?â Auru pressed, a teasing smile on his lips.
âWhat makes you think theyâre a man?â Ashei snapped back, getting angry. Auru raised his hands defensively.
âIâm just teasing you. You just never get flustered like that!â
Ashei glared at him and started cursing under her breath in frustration. Shad cleared his throat, wrapping an arm around her.
âWell, it doesnât matter if Sheik is a man or a woman, what matters is that theyâre not here right now.â He glanced up at Rusl who was still pacing back and forth near a corner. âWe should start without them.â
Ashei sighed and nodded, a defeated look on her face. Auru nodded as well and stood up to drag Rusl back to the table. Link stared worriedly at his pa as he sat down, his face drained of all blood as he stared blankly at the table.
âGoddesses, are you alright?â Shad asked, and Rusl waved his concern away.
ââM fine,â he mumbled. The group didnât seem convinced by that answer, but they didnât say anything else.
âWell, Link, Rusl,â Auru started, âtell us what happened. What is taking these missing people?â
Link glanced at Rusl who was still staring at the table, and he stood up, deciding to lead the conversation.
âDo you guys remember the shadow beasts?â
The group all froze, staring at Link with wide eyes.
âShadow beasts? You mean those horrible black creatures that plagued all of Hyrule during the Twilight invasion?â Shad asked, and Link nodded.
âYes, I⊠me and my pa found one in the woods⊠two nights ago,â Link frowned for a moment, that night feeling ages ago. He continued, âI think itâs a shadow beast thatâs gotten stronger for the past ten years. Itâs whatâs been taking these people.â
âOh⊠LabrynâŠâ Ashei muttered under her breath.
âHow do you know itâs the cause of all these disappearances?â Auru asked.
âWeâuhââ Link glanced at Rusl who was still unmoving. âWe sorta⊠found out the hard wayâŠâ
âOh no⊠did someoneâ?â Shad started, but Link quickly stopped him.
âNo, no itâs ok. I was able to stop the abduction but⊠I think itâs pretty obvious that this⊠mutated shadow beast is whatâs causing all the disappearances.â
âOk,â Ashei breathed out, âso itâs one of those shadow beasts, a little mutated, but we know what it is now. We should go out looking for it, yeah?â
Link pursed his lips. âYes, but⊠be warned. I fought so many of those things by myself back thenââ
âYes you did! You were marvelous with the way you slashed them with your sword!â Shad exclaimed, swinging his arm around as if he had a weapon. Link smiled but it quickly went away.
âYeah, well⊠I fought this one, and it didnât die no matter what I did, so⊠I think we should be careful. We canât underestimate this thing.â
The group nodded.
âAlright, well, thank you for telling us Link,â Auru said. âNo one in Castle Town described anything like that.â
âNo kidding,â Ashei replied and Link nodded glumly. This wouldnât have happened if he hadnât let such a thing live, he couldnât help but feel guilty over it.
âWell, itâs late, we can discuss plans tomorrow, but in the meantime, I think we should all get some rest,â Auru stared sternly at Rusl and Link, âyou two especially. I can tell you need it.â
Link smiled slightly and Rusl got up quietly, leaving the room in an instant. The group stared in shock as he disappeared behind the curtain. Auru looked at Link and pointed at where Rusl left.
âIs he alright?â
âI⊠I donât knowâŠâ Link looked down, debating on whether he should tell them the details of what happened, but he really didnât want to, and he didnât know if Rusl would want him to. âHeâs probably just tired⊠the uh⊠the shadow beast was⊠aggressive to say the least. Iâm gonna go talk to him real quick.â
He felt everyoneâs eyes on him as he left, and he glanced at Telma who looked worried, but she forced a smile when she saw Link.
âDid you all start the conversation without me?â
âOhâ goddesses Telma Iâm so sorryââ
Telma waved his apology away. âIâll make the others tell me. Rusl went upstairs, sweet pea.â
Link nodded and slowly walked up the stairs, his entire body suddenly feeling heavy. He glanced around at the secret upstairs inn, trying to remember which one was normally reserved for him and Rusl. He poked his head in the first room, finding Rusl laying on one of the beds, his hands resting on his face. Rusl flinched when he sensed another person near him, but he quickly relaxed when it was Link.
âSpirits, Link,â he chuckled, lying back down. Link smiled and sat down on the other bed across from him.
âPa⊠are youâŠ?â He started, but he stopped when Rusl glanced at him. Ruslâs face didnât hold any annoyance, but instead guilt. He sat up and sighed.
âIâm ok, Link. Iâm⊠sorry for how I was acting down there⊠I justâŠâ Rusl paused for a moment before sighing again, resting against the wall. Link tilted his head
âWhat?â
âOh⊠itâs not your burden to bear.â
âWell⊠I kinda already know why youâre upset so⊠hiding it from me is a fruitless effort.â
Rusl grinned slightly. âI suppose so⊠I justâŠ. Ever since that night Iâve been feeling so⊠terrified every waking momentânoâeven when Iâm trying to sleep Iâm terrified, I justââ he stopped himself and rubbed his face. âI donât know.â
Link frowned. âI know the shadow beasts would turn people into other shadow beasts, maybe youâre still feeling the effects from that?â
Rusl shrugged, a disturbed look on his face.
âYou⊠also were almost eaten,â Link chuckled darkly, âthat would traumatize anyone.â
Rusl smirked slightly, but it quickly went away, so Link continued.
âI mean⊠I know Iâve nearly been eaten myself. So many times. By giant plants, and a giant eel, and wolfos trying to tear me to pieces, and spiders, and I guess smaller plants too, plus another giant spider, and possibly a lot of other things andââ
Ruslâs face had grown more concerned the longer Link rambled, and he quickly tried to recover.
âI-I mean, I turned out fine! Maybe? I mean maybe I havenât turned out fine butâbut itâs fine! Iâve kinda gotten used to it, everything trying to eat me. Heh, it makes me wonder if I taste good. I mean Midna will definitely say that I taste good but, you knowââ
âLink, I donât need to know this,â Rusl interrupted him, though he almost seemed amused. Link blushed slightly and scratched the back of his head.
âS-sorry, that kinda came out.â
Rusl chuckled slightly, which made Link feel a little better. He observed his fatherâs tired face and frowned.
âPa⊠you should get some rest.â
Rusl raised an eyebrow. âDoting and worrying is supposed to be my job Link, not yours.â
âWell, who did I get it from?â Link rebutted, and Rusl laughed.
âCorrection then: doting is a parentâs job.â
âBut I am a parent.â
âNot my parent!â
Link snorted and Rusl joined him in his laughter. It felt good to laugh after these past few days. Link sniffed and sighed, staring at Ruslâs bed.
âYou should get some rest though, Pa.â
âYou should get some rest too, Link.â
Link pursed his lips and looked down, shifting uncomfortably.
âNot as much as you.â
Rusl raised an eyebrow. âHow much sleep have you gotten in the past forty-eight hours?â
Link clamped his mouth shut. âI⊠um⊠like⊠fourâŠ. hoursâŠ?â
Rusl smirked and gestured for him to come over. Link sighed and trudged over to him, the lack of sleep catching up to him. He rested against Ruslâs side while he wrapped his arm around him, and Link finally relaxed. It always felt good to be held by one of his parents. Being an adult, it didnât happen as often compared to when he was a kid. Rusl started playing with the tip of his ear and he lightly kissed his forehead.
âIâm proud of you, Link,â he said softly.
âFor what?â
âFor becoming the man you are today. Youâre a good person, determined, and kind. And Iâm proud of you for it.â
Link smiled slightly. âBut you and ma raised me to be that way.â
âOh, we were only trying to nudge you kids in the right direction. Ultimately, it was you who chose to become a good person. Give yourself more credit.â
Link sighed and drowsiness began to get the better of him.
âThanks. I love you pa.â
Sleep began to take over him as he heard his pa say one last thing.
âI love you too, my son.â
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zelda awoke with a jolt. She was in her bed, her heavy dress was replaced with a lighter one, and her daughter was reading a book by her side. She rubbed her eyes and sat up, startling Amber.
âMother! Youâre awake!â She exclaimed, closing her book. âWe were so worried!â
Zelda looked around the room, confused. How long has she been out?
âFather came to me and asked me to stay by your side! I hadnât left once!â Amber continued. âIâve just been reading this book about birds, Iâm hoping to find one to match the birds Hylians used to ride, but so far none of them have been big enoughâŠâ
âAmber,â Zelda rubbed her eyes, still feeling exhausted. âWhereâs your father?â
âHeâs in meetings right now, he said heâll come by to see if youâre awake!â
Zelda groaned and rubbed her face. What had been happening while she was out? She hated not being in control of everything.
âI hope youâre alright,â Amber added quietly, and Zelda glanced over at her. She had a worried look on her face, and she couldnât help but smile.
âIâm fine, thank you for watching over me,â Zelda said with a smile, and Amber beamed at the praise.
âIâm so glad mother! Do you want me to fetch you some supper? Itâs a little late butââ
âWait, how long have I been asleep?â
âOh! Um⊠a few hours.â
Zelda tried to hide her frustration, and she turned away as she groaned. She didnât have time for this. She still needed to meet with the resistance! If she didnât leave nowâŠ
Amber gasped as Zelda started to get out of bed, ignoring the vertigo that assaulted her.
âUm⊠mother? Father told me to make sure you stayed in bed a-andââ
âIâll be fine, Amber,â Zelda grumbled, but she knew she wouldnât be. It didnât matter though, she needed to be somewhere.
âBut⊠father saidâŠâ Amberâs voice trailed off, and Zelda heard another person enter the room.
âZelda,â Edmundâs voice called out, and she sighed. Great.
âFather!â Amber hopped up and ran to him. âMotherâs awake! Do you want me to get a meal for her?â
âNo, I already sent a maid to do that, my dear. You go get yourself to bed.â
Amber nodded and looked back at Zelda. âGoodnight mother.â
Zelda smiled slightly. âGoodnight Amber.â
She lingered for a moment, her mouth agape, but she finally turned away and left the room. Edmund and Zelda remained silent, both staring intensely at each other. Finally, Edmund let out a huff and started to walk forward.
âIâm glad youâre awake,â he said, âI brought you something.â
Zelda frowned. âWhat is it?â
Edmund sat down on the bed with her and handed her a little box. She carefully opened it to reveal a chocolate orange. She blinked several times, wondering if the lack of sleep had finally caught up to her and that she was hallucinating it. But the smell hit her nostrils, and she lightly traced the chocolatey edges.
âI remember you loved these things as a kid,â Edmund muttered, a nostalgic smile on his face. âI always hated them, but I did enjoy eating one slice with you whenever you had them.â
Zelda couldnât help but smile as she grabbed a slice of the chocolate. She glanced at Edmund and her smile dropped slightly.
âHow do you know I still love these?â She asked, and Edmund took in a quiet, deep breath.
âDo you?â
Zelda looked down and put one in her mouth. The chocolate instantly melted as it hit her tongue, the sweet flavor mixing with the tanginess of the orange rewarding her taste buds, and she couldnât help but close her eyes in satisfaction. She hasnât had one of these in years.
âIt seems you still like it,â Edmund chuckled. Zelda opened her eyes and turned away, embarrassed.
âYes,â she mumbled. Edmund hummed and leaned back, resting on his hands.
âIâm glad.â
Zelda turned to look at him, his mustache lifted up with his smile. âWhyâd you bring this to me?â She asked.
âOh, I figured youâd need an energy boost. Chocolate does wonders for that,â Edmund reached for a slice. âMay I?â
Zelda nodded and offered one to him. He took a slice and bit into half of it. His face scrunched up in disgust and he covered his mouth. âEugh, I still donât like it.â
Zelda smiled and almost let out a giggle. âThatâs quite a shame, theyâre so delightful.â
Edmund grinned and stared at the uneaten slice. âI probably shouldâve put the full thing in my mouth, now what will I do with this?â
Zelda stared at it for a moment, and before she could even think, she plucked it out of his hand.
âCanât let it go to waste,â she said before putting the rest of the slice in her mouth. Edmund looked surprised but his expression softened into a pleasant smile. Zelda looked away, her face flushing slightly, and she picked at the remaining chocolates. âThank you for this Edmund, that was very thoughtful of you.â
Edmund nodded. âOf course. I⊠I just want to help out.â
It grew silent between the twoâany feeling of contentment was gone in an instant. Edmund picked up on Zeldaâs discomfort and he let out a sigh.
âWhy wonât you accept my help?â
Zelda glanced up at him. Where an accusatory and bitter tone normally was, this time, there was just curiosity. He was trying, it was only fair that Zelda tried as well.
But could she trust him?
It was kind of him to try to help her, but was he trying to manipulate her into trusting him? She remembered her father always showering her mother with gifts whenever he did something to upset her. It was always a way to regain her trust. Was Edmund trying to do the same?
âListen, becoming the king of Hyrule hasnât been an easy transition for me,â Edmund started, his back turned to Zelda, âLabrynna gives its power to the king, but here in Hyrule, all of the power goes to the queen.â He let out a breath while Zelda remained silent. Heâs never told her this before. âI admit Iâve feltâŠ. Emasculated as a result, and Iâve been acting childish because of it. For that I am sorry.â He glanced back at Zelda, an almost worried expression on his face, but Zelda stayed quiet. âBut, I feel useless. I feel like Iâm being used for my connection to my family, and that Iâm nothing more than an object to your people and⊠I suppose thatâs why Iâve been⊠frustrated about you keeping things to yourself. But⊠looking at you now, Iâve grown more worried than upset. Youâve overworked yourself so much to the point that you collapsed. Thatâs not a good thing. I suppose I⊠I just want to know why youâre so intent on doing everything yourself, when Iâm here to⊠help you.â
Zelda stared at him for a moment, his emerald green eyes never leaving hers. For once, Zelda couldnât find her words. She knew she should try to communicate with himâhe was being so open with her, but why? Was he trying to worm his way into her life? Or was he being genuine? Heâs never taken the time to sit down and talk to her about things, but then again, Zelda never gave him the chance. Did he deserve her to try to be open as well? She turned away, emotions running rampant. She couldnât cry, it wasnât queenly to do so, but she was so tired. She took a deep breath to control herself.
âI⊠I donât know if I can trust you,â she finally said softly. She felt Edmund shift beside her.
âWhy?â
âIâIâve watched my father strip my mother of all her power. He took everything away from her, ruled Hyrule as a tyrant, and took control of every aspect of my life. It doesnât matter if Hyrule gives the power to the queen, the king can take over and I canât let that happen again. Itâs happened to me twice now and⊠I just⊠Iââ She hiccuped slightly and she rubbed her exhausted eyes. It was quiet as she once again tried to take control of her emotions, and she glanced up at Edmund, who looked horrified.
âI had no idea,â he finally said. âI alwaysâ I know we didnât see each other a lot but⊠I didnât knowâŠâ
Zelda sniffed and sat up straight. âMy father did a good job at hiding it. And he made sure I hid it as well.â
Edmund gave her a sad look. âIâm so sorry. IâŠâ He grew silent for a moment. â... thank you for telling me. Iâll leave you be. A maid should come by with food for you.â
âI-I canât stay I need toââ
âZelda.â Edmund gave her a firm look. âIâŠI ask that you give yourself rest and proper nourishment, please.â
Zelda stared for a moment, remembering the resistance. âI canât. I still need to meet up withââ she stopped herself and Edmund raised an eyebrow.
âWith⊠your friends that are taking care of the disappearances?â
Zelda pursed her lips. âYes.â
âPerhaps I can meet with them in your stead.â
She shook her head quickly. âNo Iââ they didnât know that she was the queen; if Edmund came instead, they would figure it out, even if one already knew about it. And she certainly couldnât tell Edmund about Sheik. Frustration was apparent on Edmundâs face, and he sucked in a sharp breath and stood up.
âSo are you just going to keep pushing yourself until you die? Sure, you may not trust me, I understand that. But you have representatives, diplomats, nobles, even guards that could go in your stead! Why canât you utilize them?â
âEdmund. I. Canât. A-at leastâŠâ Zelda looked down, her eyes going back and forth between the chocolate orange, the bed, and Edmund. He did have a point; she couldnât keep going on like this. She really could end up dying from her neglect, which would be an awful thing for Amber and for the resistance. But she knew no one could help the resistance with the disappearances. She had to take care of that herself. But⊠perhaps with everything elseâŠ. Goddesses, she hoped she wasnât making a mistake. âCould you⊠just take care of the meetings tomorrow? I must deal with these disappearances on my own.â
Edmundâs expression softened and he nodded. âIâll take care of them.â
Zelda smiled. âThank you.â
âWill you⊠visit Amber before you leave anywhere?â
Her lips parted and she nodded. Edmund nodded back, and for the first time in years, there was a mutual understanding between them. Edmund hesitated for a moment before finally turning to leave. Zelda was left alone, and she contemplated everything that had just happened.
She collapsed after a meeting and slept through the entire day. Her daughter stayed by her side while Edmund took care of the rest of the day. He brought her chocolates and they had a conversation that didnât result in them fighting. They opened up to each other⊠and nowâŠ
She sighed. She needed to meet with the resistance, that was her first priority. Hopefully it wasnât too late.
She wasted no time to get into her disguise, despite her exhausted body and rumbling stomach. Just as she was about to sneak out, she remembered what Edmund asked of her.
âWill you⊠visit Amber before you leave anywhere?â
She sighed. Sheâs been a terrible mother to her own daughter, not spending any time with her despite Amber desperately wanting to. If the resistance needing to meet up tonight hadnât been about the missing people, she probably would have been tempted to stay. Maybe spend time with her family, her daughter, and try to be the mother Amber deserved. But she knew this was important; it had better be important. She needed to take care of this, and she needed to find the missing people so that Hyrule would be safe for Amber. If the resistance found out important information about the disappearancesâlike where the missing people wereâshe would personally go to rescue them herself and eradicate any threat that came in her way. This threat would come to an end, Zelda would make sure of it.
But it meant she would be gone for a while. So she didnât know when she would see Amber again.
Zelda quietly snuck into Amberâs room, her daughter curled up in her bed, clutching a bird stuffed animal to her chest. She brought her mask down and walked up to her daughter, emotions going through her once again. Her sweet little Amber, growing up before her very eyes, and she was missing all of it.
Her hand brushed against Amberâs temple and she began to stir. She looked up at her mother and furrowed her brow.
âMother?â
Zeldaâs breath hitched and she helped Amber sit up.
âAmber,â she started, âI know⊠I know I havenât been the best mother, but I want you to know that I love you with every fiber of my being.â Zelda pulled Amber close and hugged her. âI love you so much.â
She rocked her back and forth, Amber clinging to her tightly. Despite her dry eyes, Zelda found tears forming, and she had to choke back a sob. Amber however wasnât hiding her crying, and she felt her tears soaking into her clothes. She finally pulled back, wiping away a tear on Amberâs cheek and rested her forehead against hers.
âI promise Iâll try to be better,â Zelda whispered, pecking her on the forehead, and she stood up, walking towards the door.
âM-mother?â Amber called out.
âIâll be back,â Zelda promised. âJust stay here with your father and focus on your studies. I⊠I love you.â
âI love you tooâŠâ
Zeldaâs heart hurt more than her aching body as she turned away. How many times has she turned her own daughter away? How many times has she brushed her off when Amber reached out? She ran out, her frustrations over herself giving her the energy she needed to escape the castle. How will Amber view her when she grew older? Would she resent her the same way Zelda resented her father? Would she feel unloved by her own mother? She stopped as she reached the entrance to the courtyard, looking back at the castle. She was panting heavily, sad and angry tears finally pouring down her face.
It didnât matter what her father tried to do to her, Zelda never felt worthy of being queen. She didnât feel worthy of anything in her life. Especially her own daughter.
Amber deserved a better mother.
For a moment as she stared at her castle, she thought she saw Edmund watching her, but his supposed silhouette went away in an instant. She turned away, her head hanging, and finally marched to Telmaâs bar.
It was late, she didnât know how late it was, but it was late enough for no one to be out in the streets save for a few guards. Sheikâs stomach was cramping terribly, and her throat and tongue felt like sandpaper. She almost wished she stayed behind to eat the food Edmund got for her, but she knew she couldnât let the resistance down. She leaned against a wall catching her breath, her hand rubbing against a box in her pouch. She didnât know why she grabbed the chocolate orange Edmund gave her; she supposed she couldnât leave it behind. She continued onward to Telmaâs bar, feeling that it was a much longer walk than what she remembered. She normally went through the dungeons to reach Telmaâs bar, but from how she was feeling, she didnât have the strength to go that way. As if to prove her right, her knees nearly buckled as she went down the stairs, causing her to stumble into the door. She pulled back and blinked harshly trying to clear her head. She took a deep breath to calm herself and she went inside. The bell rang loudly through the empty bar, announcing her presence.
âSorry, weâre closed right now,â she heard Telma call out from the back. The barmaid poked her head from the curtains and her face lit up. âSheik! Well, itâs about time you got here, honey!â
Sheik awkwardly shuffled forward, allowing herself to be hugged by Telma.
âS-sorry Iâm late,â she mumbled, not caring if Telma heard her or not.
âOh⊠itâs not me you should apologize to. The others have already gone to bed, save for Ashei and Shadâ well⊠actually itâs just Ashei,â Telma laughed slightly. Sheik was disappointed that the others had already gone to sleep, it was much later than what she hoped for, but she was slightly relieved that Ashei was the only one awake save for Telma. Though Sheik had tried to keep her Royal identity a secret, Ashei had found out about it. She had to admit, it was nice not having to hide everything from one person. She could at least confide in her with everything that has been happening.
âMy, you look terrible,â Telma continued, eyeing Sheik worriedly. âHere, let me whip you up something real quickââ
âOh, no you donât have to do thatââ a loud grumble from her stomach interrupted her and Telma raised an eyebrow. Sheik looked down, embarrassed. âApologies.â
âYouâre alright sweetheart, just head to the back and Iâll get you some soup.â
Sheik nodded and walked to the back where she saw Ashei and Shad sitting next to each other. Shad was asleep, his head against Asheiâs shoulder, while Ashei had her arm wrapped around him. She had a pleasant smile on her lips as she watched him, until she looked up, spotting Sheik.
âAre you going to sit down, or are you going to keep watching us like a creep?â She asked, and Sheik straightened.
âA-apologies⊠I didnât mean to stare.â
âDonât worry about it, yeah?â Ashei glanced at Shad, then back at her. âI wanted to stay up to wait for you. I knew youâd get here eventually. He was intent on staying up with me, but I guess he couldnât do it.â
Sheik smiled despite Ashei not being able to see it. âIâm sorry I came so late.â
âYouâre fine, but what happened? Why did it take so long for you to get here?â
âIâŠâ Sheik didnât want to talk about her fainting today, nor about her lack of sleep, food, and water. âIâve just been very busy.â
Ashei studied her for a moment. âAre you alright?â
Sheik looked up at her, and simply shook her head. âIâve been very busy,â she repeated.
âLabryn⊠ZelâSheik, you can leave this to the rest of us. You donât have to help us every second, yeah?â
âI know, but Iâm tired of sitting here not knowing whatâs going on. Not actively trying to better my kingdom.â
Ashei shook her head. âYou canât do everything by yourself. Thatâs why the resistance is here, to help Hyrule.â
âI know⊠I know⊠I justâŠâ Sheik sighed. Goddesses she was exhausted. The two grew silent until Telma came in with a bowl.
âI could only make some broth, I hope thatâs ok, sweet pea.â
Sheik felt herself beginning to drool and she gratefully took the bowl. âThis is wonderful, thank you, Telma,â she said. Telma gave her a soft smile.
âOf course honey! Thatâs why Iâm here, to take care of my friends.â
The word âfriendsâ stuck with Sheik, and she looked down at the bowl, her emotions running rampant once again, though her eyes were finally too dry to cry again.
âNow, if you two will excuse me, Iâm going to head to bed myself.â Telma turned to Ashei with a teasing smile. âUnless you need me to carry him to bed of course.â
Ashei gave her an annoyed smirk. âI can do that myself. Thank you though.â
The barmaid gave a hearty laugh. âAlright, good night you too. And Sheik? I have some water on the table for you. Take care.â
Sheik glanced at the cup on the table, her thirst becoming unbearable.
âThank you,â she said again, and Telma turned away, leaving the two women alone. Sheik glanced around, eyeing Shad cautiously, and Ashei caught on.
âDonât worry, heâs out like a light.â
âBut what if he wakes up and sees me without my mask?â
âThen Iâll knock him back out, yeah?â
Sheik chuckled softly and pulled her mask down. Though it wasnât filling, the broth was amazing, and the water made her feel much better than before. She sighed as she drank the broth, feeling relief run through her body as she finally got nutrients in her body. She glanced at Ashei who watched her worriedly, and she looked down.
âHow was Hoz?â Sheik asked.
âOh, he was fine. Quite determined to find the missing people. Heâs a good man.â
Sheik smiled slightly. âIndeed, he is. What did Link and Rusl need?â
Asheiâs breath hitched. âThey found whatâs been causing these disappearances.â
Sheik gasped and nearly dropped her bowl. Though it was exactly what she had hoped for, she was still surprised that it actually happened. âWhat is it? Whatâs causing it?â
âLink thinks itâs a shadow beast.â
Dread instantly filled Sheikâs body. Memories of the beasts breaking through her castle and slaughtering the guards came in at once, and she clenched her fists. HowâŠ?
âWe hope to make a plan to hunt and kill it, but according to Link, itâs gotten powerful over the past ten years, and it wonât die so easily.â
Sheik swallowed hard and nodded. âI see⊠any⊠any news on the people?â
Ashei shook her head sadly. âNo, they only mentioned the beast Iâm afraid.â
Sheik slumped slightly. If it was a shadow beast taking these people then⊠they probably werenât alive anymore. She remembered watching Zant turn her guards into shadow beasts before her eyes, even those who werenât personally cursed turned when beside them. Even her own parents turned into creatures of darknessâŠ
Were the people dead? Or had they turned into shadow beasts, doomed to be mindless monsters until theyâre put out of their misery? Sheik didnât know. But if that were the case, wouldnât they have known about the resurgence of shadow beasts? Either way, Sheik was having a hard time being hopeful about the fate of the missing people.
âWeâre going to be doing a lot of planning tomorrow,â Ashei continued, âI donât know when weâll head out, but if youâre wanting to come with us, I suggest you get some rest, yeah?â
Sheik looked up at Ashei who had a firm expression on her face. Sheik had grown tired of everyone telling her to rest, but with the food and water in her system, she couldnât fight back the sleepiness.
âAlright,â she mumbled before standing up, staring at her empty bowl confused.
âI can take care of that,â Ashei said, and Sheik set it down awkwardly. âWe can talk more tomorrow, yeah?â
Sheik nodded and dragged herself up the stairs where several rooms were hidden. Her eyes were barely open as she tried to find a room to go in. She typically took the first room, so she opened the door and threw her head cover and mask off, closing the door behind her which left the room in total darkness. She stumbled over to the bed closest to her and fell asleep before her head could even hit the pillow.

i'm doing a hunger games simulator of @minas-linkverse ! the game is under the cut, the stats (placements and such) will be in a reblog.
our lineup! i had to cut team C, less because they're not canon and more because they were too many characters. the four swords, oot, and loz1&2 zeldas don't have linkverse designs as far as i know, so they're not here.
HYLIA DIES IMMEDIATELY. great start
interesting team up. everyone seems to be doing okay
NEVERMIND. WORLDS IS A TRIPLE MURDERER. sksw zelda, st zelda and hyrule are all out of the running! both hylia and hylia 2 dead on the first day. and first stole from a child. this concludes the reaping
everything is going fine. sailor is in his natural habitat
EVERYTHING IS GOING BAD. hero tries to kill... his own past self... but tp zelda stops him! so i guess time paradox prevented but first is still going to die in the future. albw zelda dies at the hand of alttp zelda. botw zelda kicks ass, defeating tetra and killing masks. legend kills mini, which admittedly i could see him doing. hilda takes the hylia route of dying all by herself. hoods somehow stalks a wolf without him noticing
ending off day one, feathers has some water. good job buddy. nine people are dead
that was a really deadly day one. worlds is currently in first place, from his triple murder. district 12 has been wiped out
everyone is having a great night, except tetra, who first just killed.
yeah, everyone except tetra had a good night one. four & hoods and botwzelda & ravio are cuddling, which is cute. time for day two!
the triple murderer is defeated! nobody killed him, he just ate some bad berries. also feathers has a sprained ankle now
i guess fangs did notice hoods stalking him! not much happened today. only two people died
now that worlds is dead, first, legend, alttp zelda, tp zelda and botw zelda are tied for first place. district 6 has been wiped out! only ravio lives to represent albw
alttp zelda kills sailor and gets herself into first place! also, four receives another hatchet. he has two now
ravio dies, the last remnant of albw. there were four of them, twice as much as other games had, so their odds were good, but not good enough i suppose. onto day 3
casual interactions. hoods and tp zelda are a fearsome team, i wonder how that happened. also four is doing very poorly even though he has two hatchets
a bad day for mental health, but a good day for staying alive! after two people died in the night, everyone left managed to survive all day.
districts 7 and 8 were wiped out. alttp zelda is now in first place.
first takes after hylia: death by falling. fangs and his zelda have a nice talk
legend kills feathers, cementing him and his zelda as the frontrunners. minish cap zelda questions her sanity again. maybe she's not doing so well.
ALTTP ZELDA KILLS LEGEND? they were on the same team, but i guess she didn't like having competition for first place! hoods and fangs kill tp zelda, despite having both previously teamed up with her- and she was on fangs' team! four kills botw zelda! mc zelda stops questioning her sanity for long enough to murder engie! what a day! a lot of people just died, and it was 50% betrayals! 75% if you count four backstabbing botw zelda!
these five are the only people left alive. when those four were hunting for "other tributes" they were just looking for alttp zelda. but they never took her alive
seven people died. districts 1, 2, 5 and 9 were wiped out. everyone is tied at one kill. there is nobody in the lead and no full teams left.
mc zelda and fangs are friends! that's nice. nobody dies in the night
fangs betrays mc zelda immediately! but she survives. no casualties today, so let's move on to the next night.
mc zelda and fangs are now friends again! make up your minds
OH OKAY. hoods and mc zelda are down! it's just fangs vs four now.
they're tied for kills. it all comes down to this... the final battle
...that was a fast final battle.
congratulations to four! i'll reblog this post with the placements and stats.
#don't check the reblogs if you don't want to be spoiled on the outcome of the game. the stats will give it away#linkverse#hunger games simulator#original post

Friend or Foe || Part 3/3
Part 1 || Part 2
Pairings: Warrior, Sky, Twilight x GN Reader
Overview: Link visits an alternate world without its hero and, more importantly, a version of you without your Link. Unfortunately, it seems even the smallest of details can lead to disastrous results. In spirt of Halloween, I've decided to do a little evil prompt because none of the Links have enough emotional damage yetđ
Zelda Masterlist đFandom Masterlist
Every soldier has something they fight for - something they'd risk it all to protect. For Warrior, that motivation has always come from you. Admittedly, your relationship was a bit sour and competitive at the start since you were both trying to be Hyrule's best soldier, although overtime, spiteful taunting turned into warm banter, and warm banter became affectionate flirting. Do you even know his compliments are genuine? Do you know how weak at the knees you make him or how smitten he truly is? Not to be dramatic, but Warrior would die for you. How would you react if he told you that openly - no hint of teasing or insincerity to be found in his voice? The question has long weighed heavy on his mind, yet he supposes he'll have to wait longer for an answer because there's no way he'll get it straight from this version of you...
Goddesses, Warriorâs tired. Itâs been a rough few days of walking to absolutely nowhere through a barren wasteland which has left his feet sore, his back aching, and his eyes barely able to stay open, yet he still volunteered to patrol the area around camp before turning in for the night because despite how worn out his body is, he canât truthfully say he isnât used to it.Â
As a soldier, heâs traveled similar distances while cutting his way through whole armies, so he isnât about to really complain about a quick walk around an empty forest even if it is pretty creepy and foggy. Besides, as youâve always hypothesized, the more tired you are, the more rewarding sleep will be, and you arenât wrong about that; when being this exhausted, Warrior shouldnât have any problem passing out the second he collapses onto his bedroll.
Thinking about you during his journey is typical, especially during quiet moments like this. He wonders what youâre up to right now, placing internal bets with himself on whether youâre worried about or have barely noticed his absences. Somehow he convinces himself of the latter, after all you always claim youâre too busy to babysit him, although the former is still a nice thought even if a bit heartbreaking to imagine you becoming weak with concern over his whereabouts. Maybe you just miss having someone around to playfully critique. Maybe it feels too quiet with no one to annoy you throughout the workday. Whatever the reason, Warrior wonât allow himself to think itâs because you miss the man you love; thatâs a dangerous thing to hope for.
His lonely pondering must be put on hold when he hears a sound from behind, turning just in time to see the glimmer of a blade being swung towards his head. In an instant, Warrior drops down, dodging the weapon then stopping it with his own which had been drawn swiftly.Â
There were a lot of possibilities for his attackerâs identity. It could have been a bokoblin or moblin, perhaps even the same dark lizard the Chain has been hunting for this whole time, yet the very last answer Warrior wouldâve imagined - something that took his breath away upon realizing - was for it to be you staring down at him with your lips pulled into a snarl.
He speaks your name in stuttered surprise, eyes as wide as dinner plates as they scan your face just to be sure despite how extremely unlikely it would be for him to ever mistake you. He could identify your beauty anywhere and he knows what itâs like to be at the other end of your blade, the difference being the lack of mischief or hidden admiration in your eyes. Instead, thereâs only hate and malice after a bout of shock from your victim somehow knowing your name.
Not letting it be of concern, you bring your sword back and swing again, yet Warrior recovers from each attempt on his life, having sparred with you enough times to understand your strategies, although that isnât to say you donât still give him a run for his money.
âYou resistance fighters just never give up, do you?! Always trying to play the hero as if you could possibly stand a chance against the Demon King! Look around you! What are you even fighting for at this point?!â
Warrior does look around. He looks around at all the dead trees and dry grass. He looks at the dark sky and the many scars that litter your face. You look as if youâve been through something similar as the Champion, your entire body torn after many harrowing battles. This isnât how he left you. He left you back in his Hyrule, a hand over your mouth as you tried to hide your laughter after some dumb joke he made. You were happy then, but this version of you - who he now realizes is not his own - looks miserable and tired, as if all hope has been drained from their body.
âIâm not a resistance fighter - (Y/n), itâs me. Itâs Link.â
âThe hero LinkâŠ?â You ask and, for a moment, Warrior has hope that youâll halt your attacks. Surely even in this world, you must know who he is because if thereâs someone who looks and acts exactly like you, there must be an equal counterpart for him, yet instead of helping him, you scowl before swiping your legs under his, knocking him to the ground with a heavy âthudâ...He forgot that common move of yoursâŠ
You point your sword inches away from his face, for once your expression showing not anger, but rather sorrow as you gaze down at him, âWell, if thatâs true then you came too late. Ganonâs already won meaning there is no longer a Hyrule to save. You werenât here when we needed you most.â
Everyone in the Chain has your name memorized and it's not because they know you personally (you've actually never had the pleasure to meet), rather it's because of how often Sky gushes about the love of his life waiting for him back on Skyloft. Think of any pleasant word in the dictionary and that boy has probably used it at least a dozen times to describe you, be it to his brothers-in-arms or a poor shop clerk who was unfortunate enough to make a sale to him. There isn't a single negative thing Sky could associate with someone he believes to be as perfect as you. Even now, he's struggling to remove his rose-colored glasses to see the truth before him...
This is by far the worst problem the Chain has run into during their journey. Practically the second they walked through the last portal into a disastrous world of demolished forests and smoky skies, they were surrounded by a large army of moblins led by a familiar face Sky canât say he ever missed.Â
Ghirahim, despite being from a different version of Hyrule, is just as annoying and weird as Sky remembers. His minions had no difficulty grabbing a handful of heroes each where their shouts and kicking did nothing to prevent them from being taken to a dark castle on the edge of Faron, or at least what used to be it. Once there, they were promptly taken down to the dungeons, forced to listen to Ghirahimâs egocentric rambling during the whole descent until a new voice interrupted:
âWhatâs this?â
Sky cries out your name without any hesitation, the sight of you making him forget all about the current circumstances. Heâs so happy to simply see you again that he doesnât question right away how or why youâd even be here. Hell, it doesnât even process that this wouldnât be his version of you.
âDo IâŠknow you?â The confused yet disgusted look you send him is what brings him back to reality, crushing his soul as you glance from him to Ghirahim in question, âWhere did they come from?â
âDoes it really matter? Theyâre just little rats who were found sticking their noses where they shouldnât have,â He waves a dismissive hand before snapping his fingers which prompts the moblins to roughly toss each hero into a jail cell then slam the doors behind them.
You cross your arms, not pleased with Ghirahimâs poor explanation, âIâd say it does matter. There shouldnât be loose Hylians running about. Itâs important to know where they came from so that -â
â- So, that you run away and join your own kind?â
You shift uncomfortably at the accusation, â...No, Iâm only worried how Demise will feel about this. Thereâs a reason he killed all unloyal Hylians, you know? What if one of these boys ends up being the prophesied hero, hmm? âcanât imagine Demise will be happy to know you took a chance letting his enemy go unnoticed because it âdidnât matterâ.â
Ghirahim snarls, mumbling curses under his breath before ordering you to just make sure to keep watch over the prisoners while he talks to Demise. With a flip of his hair, he walks off, leaving you to pinch your nose in irritation.
The other heroes are quick to shout protests, yet Skyâs silent as he crawls his way back over to the door just to make sure his eyes arenât playing tricks on him. It really is you - at least it looks like you as you make your rounds ensuring each cell is properly locked. All the while you look bored out of your mind. Itâs only when you make your way to him that you pause to scoff, âWhat are you looking at? âgot a concussion or something?â
â...You know, I have a version of you back in my own Hyrule,â Skyâs voice is soft as he meets your eyes not with hate like the others, but rather sympathy and sorrow, âTheyâre a knight on Skyloft and theyâre the kindest, most generous person I know.â
You make a face at his strange comment, âI donât know what the hell youâre talking about -â
â- My point is, I know that like them - like my feather - you must be a good person deep down. I donât believe you want to be evil, youâve just made the choices you had to in order to survive during bad circumstances. Youâre afraid, and thatâs okay. Seeing how this Hyrule turned out, I donât blame you, but if you help us, (Y/n) I promise I wonât let anything happen to you. Weâll protect you - you can come with us and we can find somewhere safe for you to -!â
â- There is nowhere safe! There isnât a corner of this land Demise doesnât control! Youâre looking for light that doesnât exist, so just give it a rest!â Skyâs cut off when you slam your fist against the wall next to his cell, yet contrary to your act of anger, thereâs a great pain in your eyes as you look down at him, maybe even a few tears that are barely visible through the darkness, â...The faster you do, the safer youâll beâŠâ
You are from a whole different life than Twilight. Born into riches and raised by high nobility, you had no reason to take any more interest in a simple farm boy beyond his heroic title...but you did and always have. How did he manage you? Well, Twilight's been asking that question for years. Your parents feel conflicted, your friends often scowl, yet you still pull him away by the hand and kiss him slow in hidden corners during parties, confessing aloud how much you'd like to get away from all this stress of high standards and live in Ordon with him which is a dangerous thought that only makes him wonder how much longer he'll drag his feet. Could you truly be as happy as you say or should he leave well enough alone, after all you have everything. Why throw it all away for nothing? Until this point, Twilight hasn't been sure of that answerâŠ
Time has warned the group before that they should be careful when it comes to approaching locals, concerning that too many strange questions about a shapeshifting lizard and mysterious portals might rub them the wrong way. Heeding his word, the boys have cautiously navigated their interrogations so as to not raise any unnecessary fears amongst those just trying to go about their days. Sure, theyâve still received some raised eyebrows or even glares here and there, but no reaction has ever been as extreme as this one.
âWho do you think you are, disrupting the peace of our tranquil town through baseless claims of monsters and beasts lurking beyond on our doorstep?! Why, we havenât seen so much as a keese in decades, yet now you have caused innocent families to enter a frenzy worrying about Ganondorfâs return!â
If he wasnât already so accustomed to the nonsense nobles can spew, Twilight wouldâve rolled his eyes at this manâs dismissive speech. Judging on his own personal military and the gold that decorates every wall of his home, heâs clearly in very high standing here - a self-declared king of sorts, one would think based on his fancy robes and ringed fingers. It makes sense for him to be concerned about strangers spreading news of possible danger. Hylia forbid any townsfolk panic and leave for who else would there be to exploit in their absences?
âStrip them of their weapons,â The nobleman orders and there is nothing the handcuffed heroes can truly do as his guards obey, taking their swords, shields, and anything else that could be deemed useful for rebellion all while Time once again tries to appeal to the manâs reason.
âFather, whatâs all of this about?â Negotiations (if they could be called that) are put on hold as another joins the party. While none of the other boys bat an eyelash, Twilightâs shocked to recognize the voice, nearly giving himself whiplash just to get a good look at you as you wander into the room with a rather bored look upon your face.
âNothing to worry about, my dearest star. I will have this little situation taken care of shortly,â The noblemanâs voice changes dramatically when addressing you, suddenly laced with honey as a smile graces his face; a far contrast from the slim he directed towards the Chain earlier. Twilight doesnât even feel bad that he hadnât recognized him earlier. Even back in your shared Hyrule, he never paid much attention to your parents seeing as he was only returning the favor by doing so.
Although this you isnât his own, Twilight still finds himself trying to catch your eye, hoping to appeal to your generosity because surely itâs a universal trait of yours. If anyone could call off your fatherâs hounds, it would be you, yet it seems Twilight is being too hopeful with that thought.
âWell hurry it up! My friends will be here soon and I donât want to have to explain to them why my father has a bunch of filthy travelers sitting in our parlor!â
Twilightâs distracted from the horror he was about to feel upon hearing such harsh words leave your mouth when a guard begins emptying his pockets next.
âHey -!âÂ
â- What do you have there? Show me.âÂ
The guard ignores Twilightâs protests in favor of bringing his findings up to his master, holding his hands out as if offering them on a silver platter, âA ring, shire -âÂ
â- Let me see!â You decide greedily, plucking the ring from the guardâs hand before he can hardly finish his sentence.
âIs it to your liking, my star? Consider it yours then.â
Twilight was about to object to your fatherâs offer which isnât his to give, yet you beat him to it, turning the ring over in your palm a few times just to confirm your disgust, â...Nah. Itâs hardly worth anything. I wouldnât be caught dead wearing such a mediocre pebble.â
âThen give it back!â Twilight canât help himself from shouting, the venom in his voice gaining him the surprised attention of everyone in the room.
âHow dare you speak to my child in such a way you -?!â
â- Why?â You cut your father off, an amused smirk tugging at your lips as you make your way towards the cuffed man. Kneeling down, you match his height with the ring pinched between your fingers for him to see, your next words scoffed in his face, âOooh, I get it: youâre planning on proposing to someone, arenât you? What an unfortunate soul they must be for this to equal their supposed worth to you. Let me go ahead and save you the time: the answerâs ânoâ. No one in their right mind is ever gonna marry someone like you with a ring like this.â
Dropping the ring in front of him, you then walk away as he bows his head, yet youâd be shocked to know his reaction isnât one of shame.Â
Twilight has often doubted if youâd be happy with him, somehow convincing himself youâd be better off in the life you already have instead, yet seeing this version of you and their corrupted, twisted greed, those insecurities melt away because the you Twilight knows and loves isnât this selfish. The you he loves begs your father to open his doors for innocent travelers and beams cheerfully at gifts. The you he loves would never judge any ring, in fact heâs now convinced you wouldnât even notice one to begin with. Youâd be too busy saying âyesâ to him, jewelry being a forethought in your mind compared to the promise of spending the rest of your life with your beloved farmhand.

This fic was originally inspired by the song Kerosene by tart, as it fits got the strong vibe of a yandere needing more in my opinion and I would recommend listening to it while reading <3 but eventually it spiralled into a full on self-aware sky x reader
And with that tone, they ask me 'If I'm readyâŠ' Â
Impatiently asking me to throw away my entire life for them, to cast aside everything I've ever known for the chance, the meagre chance, to stay in Hyrule. To join their duet of death, a fight that seems never-ending.
With only Sky offering me an alternate way, offering instead something more valuable than his own life to me. The offer to follow me, of his own regard instead of a twisted love demanding it of me.Â
Yet, still sitting here with Sky has its own charm to it. I don't feel pressured to talk or do anything unlike how it can get with the others at times.
"You know my dove, with a touch of your life I was filled with envy⊠The fact that I haven't been able to live with you, know you longer than I have. I scare myself sometimes."
His chuckle wasn't as reassuring as he would thought it should be if he were trying to be reassuring to me. He could just be nervous after what he simply just admitted to. I know I would be.
"How would you scare yourself with that Sky..?"
"..."
"... I don't - It's just - I⊠Sometimes I uh- have thoughts. This really isn't easy to say."
Why is he looking at me like I should already know what heâs talking about like heâs going on about an inside joke?Â
âIt was a catastrophe, as a result of your sanguine vanity. Your confidence that everything was just a game, when you really knew better didnât you?â
â...Knew better? What do you mean?â
âThat I could see you⊠that from the moment outside the academy when I was told what buttons you would need to press to control me I started to connect everything, that I was alright with you being the one who had this ability to puppet me? You knew, didnât you? You fell in love with me at the same time didnât you?â
âSky I - I donât know what youâre talking about.â
Is he - No he canât be. He couldnât have known he was in a game. He canât have been in love with me since then⊠even if he did know⊠He should hate me. At best, this is some broken-down mechanical love, some remnant of stray code⊠Oh what am I doing lying to myself, nintendo made Link as a blank slate, there would never have been any failsafe like that. Because it shouldnât be possible for him to become self-aware.
âWhen I first woke up that day it was like there was this other part of me, you it was you, but it didnât take me long to realise that you werenât a part of me. You were you and you could control my every single action.â
âMy world at that point was a plaything for you but I wouldnât have had it any other way. I didnât need to eat nor sleep when you were there for me, it was like I was complete. I was blinded by looking for Zelda for so long that I wasted the time I couldâve spent just basking in you.â
âI love you more than I need to breathe because you complete me⊠but you donât feel the same.â
âBecause Iâm just a toy to you arenât I? Be-because you left me. You just left, you left me behind and didnât come back.â
Everything, he knows everything. Where do I start, how do I handle this? I canât leave him spiralling like this, itâs not fair to him. Would he even believe what Iâll tell him? Do I want to tell him?Â
âSky Iâm not going to lie to you. I did see you as just a game, I didnât know that you were a person that you were alive. But I know better now. Youâre not just a toy.â
âBut I was just that to youâŠÂ you - you were just like a god that was sent from above to help me in my darkest moments. I didnât- I mean I know, I shouldnât have been able to have known any of that but I just - I donât - I- I don-â
Tapering off into the most heartwrenching sobs after all of that isnât something I could ever have imagined coming from the hero of the skies. I canât comfort him. Iâm not a monster.But Iâm not a god either. Even if thatâs what he saw me as, even though thatâs what he wants me to be. Â
âSky Iâm not a god. I never was, but I do care about you, Iâve said it before and seeing as you need to hear it now more than ever. I love you Sky. The you, Iâve gotten to know over this whole thing with the shadow.â
âBut I - [Name] I just -â
âI know this is a lot to go through. It mustâve been absolute torture going through all of that. Can you breathe for me? Iâm here to listen to you but I canât if youâre too stressed to speak properly.â
âI - Thank you.â
The tears staining his face are starting to dry now, leaving streaks as proof of his own sadness, ones that have too much emotion behind to have been faked. All of this has to be true, thereâs too much detail on things Iâve never mentioned to him for him to be lying to me based on one thing heâs heard about my own world. Which means heâs been aware of me for so much longer than heâs let on. That he might have known me for far longer than heâs let on. Thereâs no safe way to ask this now though so Iâll just have to hope he brings it up on his own.Â
âI first figured out that I was this character after the dream I had about demise, after I woke up, when Horwell was talking to me about the lost remlit and how he told me to press z to target him, not even calling me by my name he called me Sky. But what made it even worse is I could remember fighting demise, making up with Groose and getting the triforce yet I was back to the start and being called something different.â
âThatâs when you knew? Did you realise it was me immediately or did that take longer? You donât have to answer of course, just talk about what youâre comfortable with Link.â
His breathing is slowly evening out now, clearly his earlier panic is starting to subside. Although now I donât have my past option of being able to move away from him anymore, not with how heâs leaned all his weight against my side in, if he wasnât so deeply upset about all of this, what I could call a desperate attempt to keep me by him. With all of this only seemingly proved more by how heâs tangling his fingers in mine to hold my hand tightly against his chest.Â
âI first knew it was you when Zelda pushed me off that landing again. Your disgust at her doing that, at her not trusting me even though you already knew it was going to happen at that point. It wasnât until I was first in the temple with Fi that I saw you properly though. I couldnât even spare more than a second to bask in your beauty because, well I was scared that if I acted too differently from what you expected then you would just abandon me, but I wanted too more badly than anything. What I wouldnât have given at that time to just have been able to spare more than a simple glance at you. Who I wouldnât have killed to get the faintest chance to simply hold you.â
â...What was that last thing you said?â
âWhat do you mean my dove? The fact I wouldâve given anything to spare a glance at you?â
âNo that other thing you said.â
âThat I couldnât act differently out of fear that you would abandon me to a lifeless world where everyone was acting like soulless husks only repeating the same line over and over and over.â
âNo that very- you know what, don't worry about it.â
The last remains of his tears finally fade away now as he nuzzles himself further into my shoulder and brings up our intertwined hands to kiss my own. Drawing out the moment as long as he can, fitting as heâs spent so long pining for this very touch. Whatâs going unsaid here is more than enough to be unsettling now, with how overbearing his feelings are getting and how desperate and cheery heâs sounding now. Itâs a terrifying combination.
âI realised pretty quickly that it was your second playthrough. That Iâd missed out on basking in you because I was too focused on saving Zelda, but now Iâm done with saving. I donât want to go back to my own world, I donât want to go back to her with how sheâs always asking for more. I wish I couldâve just crawled through the screen and into your arms instead; burn away my past but I never could. I was stuck in that damned game, watching as you were so happy with me even though I wasnât a person to you - just a toy. I could hear all the things you were saying from you complaining about your day, to how you kept calling me your precious baby girl.â
âOh so⊠you heard everything⊠everything I was saying?â
âEverything. From the sweeter things like when you would apologize for me getting hurt even though I would never have held it against you, to how you thought I looked good in 'that green', how you'd let me do that to you as I finished off a skulltula, even how you thought ghirahim was fatherless. By far the best things to hear were you just talking about your own life, hearing you going on about your day made me feel more real than anything else did. I could imagine myself there with you, as a real part of your life.â
The chill down my spine at that admission didnât go unnoticed by him as he coiled tighter into my side as if he was attempting for my touch to consume him fully. Like heâs gotten a taste of this touch and heâs wanting some more, like a hit of kerosene or something sweeter.Â
"I don't want to go back to how it was before [name], I can't go back to Skyloft. I don't ever want to be pulled apart from you again, because when you finished the game? it felt like nothing was worth anything any more. I'm convinced I would have been better off dead than how I was without you."
He seemed not to be fond of my stunned silence, even still he respected it, letting me have precious moments to gather my thoughts. To say what? Where would I begin with handling this? I canât question him, heâs so fragile right now and Iâm too scared to break him. Maybe justâŠ
âIâm sorry, Sky Iâm so sorry. Iâm sorry that I didnât know earlier⊠that I couldn't help you through all of that, that I didn't treat you like an actual person. Is there any way I could possibly make it up to you?"
If that wasn't the best worst thing to say then, I don't know what I could have said instead. Luckily he seemed to like it if how heâs burning himself further into my side is anything to go off of, proven more by the contented hum heâs let out.Â
âPlease, just donât leave me again - I- I wonât hold it against you if it's not your own choice, like how the shadow brought you here to me, but I never want to have to be apart from you again. I want to go back to your own world with you, a brand new life with you is all I need.â
âI promise link, I wonât leave you of my own choice from now.â
âIf anything happens so that you get torn away from me - can you start a new save on your switch?â
âWhat..?â
What good could that be - what if it only made things worse? What if that got rid of his memories? No. [name] you have to trust him on this. He knows so much more about it, heâs the one whoâs lived this. If thatâs what he thinks the right option is. Then itâs the best option.
âIf you make a new save then this time - this time I wonât have to be worried about you overreacting and deleting me - I donât know if Iâll be able to talk to you -Â There has to be some way I can get out of that game and into your arms again my dove. I just know it.â

A Heroâs Choice: A Skyward Sword Fanfic
đȘ¶ Hello all! I just wrote this for fun and have no direction with this. I just like Skyward Sword and fluff as comfort writing material đȘ¶
***** Some Fluff *****
Lesson 1: A Repulsive Romance
 It was pretty nauseating.Â
Your elbow was planted firmly on your desk, and your hand curled beneath your chin, causing your arm to resemble a doric column as it supported the heavy infrastructure of your head. Your eyes kept fluttering closed.Â
"Y/N!"
Professor Owlan's voice boomed across the classroom. "Would you like to answer my question?"
"Uh-" Your frantic eyes searched the patient expressions of your fellow classmates.Â
Your friend Karane elbowed you from your left side." He was asking how to soothe a distraught Loftwing midflight." She sighed beneath her breath.
"Oh, yes, to soothe a Loftwing midflight, it is imperative to make sure you speak in a mild tone, find the pressure point on top of its head, and rub it."
"Why?" Professor Owlan inquired. From the harsh cut of his voice, it was clear he caught you dozing off.
"Because this pressure point, when massaged, is connected to the Loftwing's central nervous system and will flood it with feel-good endorphins."
"Very well. Take your hand off your head, please." He reprimanded you before continuing to swat the whiteboard with his ruler.
"Y/N, you are training too hard." Karane chided from beside you. "It's important to keep your grades up too. Being a knight isn't all about brawn, you know?"Â
"I know that, but I have to! I can't let-" Your eyes looked over to see your rival and friend, Link, gazing at you from over his shoulder. When he caught you staring at him, he looked away.
Karane continued, "Link will always have an advantage because of Zelda."
And there it was. The name that made your stomach churn.
Zelda.
She was Headmaster Gaepora's daughter and the most sought-after girl in all of Skyloft. With cascading strands of gold and features symmetrical like the grand goddess statue, Zelda had a face that could rob a man of his voice. Â
And she was in love with Link.
You let your eyes wander in Zelda's direction. She sat behind Link, her eyes half-massed, as she stared at him as if he were a freshly baked cake.Â
"Y/N..."
You turned to see Karane observing you.
"Are you sure you don't like Link?"
"Um. Ew. Actually, Ew."Â
"You're the only girl that thinks Link is "ew." She chuckled as you made an exaggerated grimace.Â
"Y/N, Karane," Professor Owlan hissed. "Would you care to share with the class what is so important you need to whisper during this lecture.Â
You saw Link's blue eyes bubble with curiosity as he peered at you once more from over his shoulder.Â
"Y/N here isn't taking care of herself, and I am imploring her; she needs to do better because the upcoming Loftwing ceremony is a mere week away." She stood up, causing a scene, which, as your best friend, you knew was her tactic to distract the class from Professor Owlan's question.
"Are you all making sure you're sleeping? Eating your protein and vegetables? Staying hydrated? This ceremony is a big deal, and we all need to make sure we are taking care of ourselves for this competition."
Fletch raised his hand; his eyebrows were knit upward in a way that made his face constantly appear clueless. "Actually, I haven't been sleeping well myself. I am quite nervous."
The sound of a slam made the entire class jump. Groose stood, his massive hands slapping his desk once again. "Psht. As if eight hours of sleep are going to give you all some magical benefit against me. We all know I will be Zelda's chosen hero." Groose stood, pumping his bicep muscles in a slow and deliberate manner, as if someone were inflating a balloon beneath his flesh.
"Ok, enough!"Â But as the chatter of uncertain voices began to carry throughout the class, the bell sounded, and Professor Owlan's admonishment went unacknowledged.Â
As books began to slam shut and chairs slid across the polished wooden floors of the classroom, you began to gather your things. You were hoping to sneak in a quick nap before you went over to Eagus's dojo and did another round of grueling sword training.
"Y/N."Â
You turned to see Link staring at you.
"You really are pushing yourself too hard." His voice was feathery, like his dark blond hair. "You have bags beneath your eyes."
You dropped your bookbag, your hands flying to your hips. "Not all of us have favoritism on our side, Link!"Â
His expression shifted, and he looked down at his shoes, hurt plastered on his face.
"Well?" You kept goading him on. "Did I hit a nerve? Your Zelda's favorite; we all know who really is going to win, but at the very least, I want to lose knowing I tried my very best."
"You're amazing, Y/N. Your determination and persistence are unlike anyone here, including myself."
His unexpected compliment knocked you off your high horse. You allowed yourself a momentary glance at him, the sincerity in his eyes made your chest constrict. A feeling that would happen sometimes when your eyes would meet.Â
Something else that you found nauseating.
"I just want to be better than you." Your response offered him no other opening to continue the conversation.
He opened his lips, but Zelda came running over. "Link!" She laced her fingers into his. Come on, let's go practice with our Loftwing. There's a perfect breeze that will be beneficial for our practice today." Zelda turned and looked at you. A surreptitious glint was reflected in the way she looked at you, and you could translate it simply as jealousy. It couldn't even be hidden beneath her saccharine smile.Â
"Hello Y/N. You should get some practice, too. Perhaps you and Karane can take advantage of this phenomenal weather we are having."
There it was. You and Karane. Because Link was hers and would never be anyone else's.
Not that you cared.Â
Link was nothing more than a pretty face who could somewhat wield a sword.Â
She could have him.
But as she pulled him away, he gave you a lingering look, and your chest began to constrict in that familiar way you despised.
It was pretty nauseating.Â

Bsd except Francis adopted Atsushi. It was originally for Fyodor's plans and his own to find the book.
But as time went on Francis grew to care for Atsushi as his son.
The day he fled with Atsushi and disbanded the Guild was the day Francis saw what Shibusawa was doing to Atsushi.
Atsushi spent the next years growing up in a modest cottage on the outskirts of Yokohama. It was sometimes lonely but his parents were always around and Atsushi loved them dearly.
Zelda was very protective over Atsushi. He was her sweet boy, her light in the darkness. She taught him how to play piano, how to map out stars.
Her darling daughter was everything to her and so is her dear son.
Francis adored him, he taught him how to shoot and self defence. He encouraged Atsushi's love of reading and always bought him a treat whenever they went out.
Both of them were concerned about Atsushi getting a job at the Agency. Especially after hearing how he met Dazai.
Money wasn't an issue of course but both agreed Atsushi couldn't stay inside with them forever. And he really wanted to join the Agency.
Learning about the Presidents ability definitely helped. Prior to that Atsushi spent full moons in a large old barn with his father nearby.
Things went okay for a while, Atsushi was happy and visted home often. Telling his parents about his friends and his adventures.
And while, they were concerned at times they were happy for him. That was until news Atsushi had a bounty came out and it was set by the Guild.
Now Atsushi knew about the Guild. Francis had told his son everything after they left. Even the original reason for his adoption, feeling nothing but guilt and remorse.
To his suprise Atsushi just hugged him and said he was glad because now he knew for sure his dad really cared about him. He hugged him back "I do, I always will."
So news his old organisation was trying to kidnapp his son angered Francis immensely. And hell hath no fury like Zelda Fitzgerald, Francis she was going to kill Fyodor herself.
What a woman.
Atsushi was terrified and his parents reassured him no one was going to dare take him from them.
Francis decides to meet with Fukuzawa, knowing the Agency are investigating this and wanting to help any way he can.
"Apologies, but given this concerns one of our members I'd prefer if everyone was present. Is that alright with you?" Asked Fukuzawa and Francis nodded, taking a seat.
"Of course, it's good to know my son has made such good friends."
"Wait this is about your son?" Asked Dazai making Kunikida sigh loudly. "Dazai, did you not listen to me earlier?!" Dazai grinned widely "nope."
Before Kunikida strangle him, Francis snorted and both turned their attention to him. "So you're Dazai, that definitely explains a lot. And you must be Kunikida."
He went and pointed out each member, correctly identifying them from his sons descriptions. And well, he'd met Kyouka a few times because Atsushi bought her over for dinner.
She waved at him and he waved back.
"And I leave the best for last, my dear boy Atsushi." Atsushi ducked his head "daaaaddd not infront of my friends." But they both knew he didn't mean it.
"Ohhh do you're Atsushi's father" Said Dazai as Kunikida facepalmed. "That I am and proud to be" Said Fitzgerald before becoming serious. "The organisation known as the Guild was one I lead for a number of years."
He told his story, how he went in search of a guide only to find a child. One that wormed his way into his heart and how he'd fled with him.
"I dont know Fyodor's plans, but whoevers running the Guild now is definitely working with him. His organisation is the Rats in the House of Dead."
Kunikida was writing this all down. "Does anyone in your previous organisation keep in contact with you?"
"There's Alcott, Poe as well." At that Ranpo looked up, curious. "That wouldn't happen to be acclaimed author, Edgar Allan Poe would it?"
Francis nodded, suprised he figured it out. "Friend of yours?" Ranpo smirked "something like that."
The meeting soon came to a close, everyone promising to keep Atsushi safe and Francis hugged him goodbye. "He's in good hands" Said Fukuzawa when it was just them.
Francis nodded "I know, I just..." He watches Atsushi smile and laugh with his friends. "I lost one child, I can't bare to lose another."
"And you won't" Said Fukuzawa, something about that made Francis believe him. "If you find the bastard know my wife has dibs on clubbing him in the head."
Fukuzawa chuckled "I'll remember that."
Elsewhere Atsushi shows his friends a picture of him and his parents.
"... So Atsushi are you in need of another father?" Asked Dazai with a smirk. Atsushi beat Kunikida to the punch and shook his mentor fiercely.
"Dazai if you ever ask my mum to commit double suicide with you. I will burn your signed copy of the complete guide to suicide."
"Ah! Not my darling, alright alright I won't."

As Zelda and Antoine left the courthouse, a sort of giddy freedom permeated the air. They had traveled thousands of miles to do what they had done in mere hours. Now, before their time in New Mexico had really even begun, they had done that which they wanted most.
In the plaza facing the courthouse Giorgio stopped them, fishing a key out of his pocket and handing it to Antoine, âThis one is yours, old sport. Keep it safe. This town ainât got much but itâs enough to show off to Violette here, if sheâd like. Whatâs say Jo and I take her around while you two get settled in?â
With a smile Antoine looked toward Zelda, who in turn glanced at Gio with a thankful nod. It was far from the honeymoon of their dreams, but it was at least a moment of respite and solitude for the two of them after weeks of train travel and moving preparations.
Gio pointed toward the edge of town, giving them directions on how to reach the house by foot. âBut before you head off that way you should know when I first moved here I stayed up in the main house. It got a bit lonely though, as big as it is, so I set up in the cabin across the yard. Jo and I will be staying there. The big house is for you and Violette.â
Antoine opened his mouth to protest but Gio waved him off, instead looking down at Violette, âIt only makes sense with three of yâall versus the two of us. Now Miss Violette, are we ready to see the one and only dress shop in town?â
She shook her head readily and the three of them strode off, Violette turning to wave to her parents one final time as though she were loath to leave them even for a minute.
Together Antoine and Zelda followed the directions that Gio had given them: across town, past the train depot, and alongside the new road until it turned onto a bridge. At the bend stood the house that he described: an 1890s farmhouse nestled between the edge of town and the towering orange rocks. From afar, they seemed to wrap the old house in a sheltered cocoon of the harsh landscape it sat amongst.
It was larger than either of them had expected, and from a distance the rippling sunshine worked to disguise the overgrown weeds and peeling paint. Zelda turned toward Antoine and lifted her eyebrows. He met her shocked expression with a large smile and they drew closer to the house, by that point too happy with each other to notice the dilapidation.
As they mounted the steps, the porch creaked loudly, as though protesting the new arrivals and their well shined shoes. Antoine paused in front of the door and Zelda stopped, looking at him worriedly for a moment. He lifted her hand to his lips and then bent to wrap his arms around her and lift her off of the worn wood porch.
Her words were nearly drowned out by her laughter, âAre you quite serious? After all this time you prove this old fashioned?â
He trailed his lips down her neck as he balanced her weight in his arms and unlocked the door, âWhy of course, Mrs. Duplanchier. Itâs only fitting a husband should carry his wife over the threshold for the very first time.â
Zelda pushed the door open with a heeled shoe and Antoine stepped into their new home, both far too distracted to notice anything about it other than each other.

Festival of Light - Skyloftian New Year
I had some interest so here it is! Now I cant draw to save my life so this is very much a wall of text. That's why I've got a read more for you :)
What is it?
The Festival of Light, or Skyloftian New Year's, is an event that takes place around the longest day of the year. (summer solstice for us. - So June time But in our case the skyloftian calendar begins here.)
What it's for?
It's the celebration of the year thats past, as well as looking to the year ahead. The skyloftians do this to remember where they've come from and where they are yet to go.
What happens on the main day? (Run down)
Loftwing riders 'bring the sun' from beyond the horizon. Rituals are performed by not only the riders but the townsfolk too. There are skyloftian dances, and a huge feat to celebrate the coming of the sun.
Skyloftians are expected to stay awake for the duration of the entire celebration. (The 24 hours after the riders leave). Families create lanterns to decorate their houses and the town with food for the feast that feeds the whole town.
After the riders have left is a moment of reflection, with gentle music to remember the year that's gone by.
When the riders arrive, the feast is had and as the sun continues to rise toasts and wishes for the new year are had.
Sky's place in the festival
Sky has performed in every part of the festival, his most noteworthy being the flight path the year of demise defeat. (As you can imagine that went down a treat with Zelda, who tried to fight the result of the choosing of Sky right after his journey. But Sky insisted on performing the flight.)
He was granted the green harness and it was decorated with the exploits of his journey, with feathers from Zelda, Groose and the headmaster. (Though almost everyone in Skyloft offered a feather which Sky made into a separate sash which he wore the day of the flight.)
Sky performs in the flight of tomorrow at least once while with the chain, but is exempt from being chosen for the sun flight due to this adventure he is on.
More detail about the stages of the festival are below. Including preparation stages, As the stages begin almost six months before close to the shortest day of the year.
Six months before
Day of Free Spirits (Winter Solstice festival) - I'll happily talk about this one too but the important part is this.
On the day of free spirits, all suitable Loftwing riders (over the age of 18) are chosen to select a box. Three of The boxes contain a blank night harness while the others contain normal loftwing harnesses.
The three-night harness riders are those chosen three riders for the Festival of Light. And must begin preparations with their loftwing to prepare them for the sun flight.
The harnesses are, Red, Green and Blue. (The green one is recent)
(To allow for fairness, the one's who flew in the year before are not given a box - due to being the ones to prepare the boxes)
Six month time span before festival - night flight training
Over the six months, these three riders are given night-time loftwing flight training, (even experienced riders are given this.) They often take up nightshift above Skyloft to get themselves and their loftwings used to flying for extended periods of time.
During this training, the riders hand off the night harnesses they were given to family and friends. To decorate the harnesses with the stories from the person from the year.
Key items added to the harnesses are loftwing feathers from the flier's closest relatives. They are often embroidered with names of loved ones, key events ect etc.
Harnesses are not given back to the riders until a week before the celebration is set to begin so exploits are added to the harness until this point.
(So, For example, Skyward sword Link, (Sky, because this spanned from an LU fanfic) was handed one of the harness boxes the celebration following his defeat of demise. So his harness was decorated with the tales of his adventure to defeat the demon king.)
During this time they also practice the flight path a few times.
Three months before the festival - Ceremonial outfits
Sun Riders are fitted for their ceremonial outfits. these are knighthood outfits based on the colour of the harness they received.
What's key about these outfits is that they are imbued with golden thread, in skyloftian terms this is an indication of the goddess's blessing over the garments to protect them from the darkness as they bring the light.
I see them as more, refined Knight Academy outfits. Embroidery often includes loftwings and the sun.
Three months before the festival - The secondary flyers
At this time, volunteers are chosen to perform the Dance of Tomorrow, A flight 'performance' performed after the main flight team returns to the skyloftian settlement.
This dance is a set performance that the skyloftians have been performing for generations. It's designed to depict the passage of time from the past ( the flyers grabbing the sun) To the future.
Week before festival - lanterns and feast preperations
Skyloftian families create lanterns, each house has three decorating their doors and then they make several more to string across the town.
Each one is decorated with family memories, loved ones key life events etc. (Normally parents and children will make separately but this differs from family to family)
The Knight Academy creates one per student to decorate the halls with. (Apart from the flight riders, theirs are made for them)
This is also the time to begin preparations for the feast. Each family creates a dish for the collective town to share. Could be food, drinks etc.
These are agreed upon amongst the community. So there's not a bunch of pumpkin pie/ soup.
Day before festival
Tables and lanterns are set up, with the main grounds for celebration, the riders are given time to tack up their loftwings with the ceremonial harnesses to check they fit etc.
Riders are given their favourite foods and packs for the journey. As the trip is a long one, filling water skins and food packs etc.
Departure (24 hour period of wakefulness begins)
The riders are sent in the late hours of the night before. With the whole town sending them off with quiet goodbyes.
The final thing said to the flyers before they depart is
"May you bring Hylia's light on the back of your loftwing's"
Reflection
During the dark of the night while the flyers are away, the skyloftian people undergo a period of reflection. Its a quiet time for the normally bustling town, the light of the lanterns the only light permitted over the few hours the flyers are away.
Quiet conversations occur and set up for the dance of memories. A slow dance with little music used to remember the times in the year that are harder. And how they persevered through it.
Dance of memories -slow
A slow dance, with no music to begin with. Used to reflect. Various members of the town perform this dance, depending on the events over the year.
Arrival
The riders arrive over the horision with the sunrise behind them. And the music then begins again. Begining with the harp more instruments enter as the riders get nearer and nearer before they land back with the town. The sun risen behind them.
Those performing the dance of tomorrow then mount up and begin their flight.
Dance of Tommrow - upbeat
The Dance of Tomorrow is a flight which shows the past changes to the future, it is a dance that has been done in skyloft for generations and requires at least three riders. It is performed to upbeat music by the people on the ground while the riders of the sun flight are allowed time to rest before the feast.
Feast
The feast lasts the remainder of the day, with singing and dancing as the skyloftians celebrate the first day of the year. Before taking the second day to sleep.
I hope you liked it! :D
Please feel free to ask my questions I will happily answer them.

so I finally obtained the last memory for the captured memories quest. therefore I now have all 17 of them. complete. And I just want to jump in here for a second and just. Scream. Cry. Drop to my knees in the middle of a Walmart and die (like link hahaha too soon ueue) sooo..
his tattered clothing. the stains that are most likely mixed with wet dirt and dried blood. the clear exhaustion in his posture by holding on with the scarce amount of strength he has left. the way he forcefully lifts himself up with every last ounce of strength for the sake of protecting her. even if it costs his life. he stands before her. before the danger. becomes her shield. after months of standing behind her as her personal knight.
and just the guttural scream she let out here was just. wow. she refuses to stand behind. to stay behind. all her friends are gone. and in her mind she blames herself for it all. for being left behind from all the championsâ progress. from his progress. but no more. now she stands before him. shields him. she will not allow another one of her friends to fall due to her incompetence. no more.
listen. imagine seeing the stoic but kind knight who always protected you from harms way before thinking of his own safety. that has stayed by your side even during your worst tempers and sorrows. fallen. the rain falling on his battered clothing and soaking them beyond repair. the raindrops on his cheek and hair making the died blood and dirt smudging his features more, his hair damp and tangled. the master sword in an almost painful grip as if it were his lifeline. and it was.
gods this shot. this one right here. his grip never loosens. but his breaths stagger. his heart slows. the exhaustion of fighting for not only your life but most importantly her life from evening to midnight. a cruel way to loose oneself is by the fate of saving the lives of hundreds in exchange for your own demise while doing so. but he simply must make sure she is safe. must look into her eyes at least once before he feels his eyes give to the very darkness he gave his entire life to destroy. and my god i canât imagine how Zelda must feel. to loose her last and only hope. but to also loose a friend she had learned to cherish along the way. Now left desperately searching for any ounce of life left inside his lithe body with her hands and sobs to his chest.
âprincess are you alright?â except thatâs the last thing on her mind at the moment. isnât it? when she immediately redirects them to him and risking it all for the slim chance of the possibility of saving him.
her tone is so assertive here. He is her priority right now. Wow.
i just. have no words. her tone. was downright threatening. so powerful. the delivery of this line. impeccable. made shivers run down my spine just hearing it. she will have her swordsman saved. zero questions or doubts. an absolutely breathtaking cutscene.
Okay Iâll shut up now haha but god this scene racked my very core. Beautifully made and executed with the music and lighting. the tone and ambiance the voice acting the small details of their movements. yup this one has won my favorite memory.
little bonus of me trying not to burst into tears as Zeldaâs horse nudges link with his snout after seeing the memory ugh im in absolute shambles over this game.
