Can I know more about the mafia highschool au? Like is it a normal school with just a bunch of mafia kids or is there an actual mafia curriculum? What was Momo's reaction when she found out she was pregnant? Is Mimi still the Rat King? Curious minds would like to know 🥺💜✨
Djkdkd it piqued your interest, huh? x'D
It's an actual mafia hs! 90% of the people there are mafia affiliated, and in order for outsiders to be brought into the school, they have to be sponsored by a current student! The current student has to vouch for the outsider's capabilities and also take responsibility for them. For example, Reborn sponsored Miruku! He is now a mentor figure to him and is guiding him to be what he feels is a splendid mafia member. [The thing is, everyone here are teens, so while the arcobaleno are still powerful, they aren't as experienced or cool headed as their adult counterparts! Reborn, in this au, isn't as gentlemanly towards femme presenting people! It's something he works more towards later. He still treats them better than male presenters but thats because he is a misandrist. Another example: Fon has a temper!!!]
The one who sponsored Momina is actually Luce! Luce is a great help to Momina due to both of them being spiritually inclined. However, with how Colonello [and Lal] are... they, of course, decided to snatch Momina away and also force teachings onto her. Luce is still Momina's actual mentor, though!
The blood, sex and violence are ramped up in this school. It's normal for students to be killed by other students [Squalo just murdering Dino's bullies because they were in the way, for example...] so this kind of pushes people into confessing, having sex, etc. They feel they can die any time so YOLO!!!
I like to think there is actually a mafia curriculum on top of the normal curriculum. "All the ways you can poison someone", "espionage", etc. They get sent on missions...
Momina has major brainrot!!! She was so happy to be a mother while married to Hayato. [Yeah... they got married while underage. Yeah, Hayato forced religious leaders to allow the marriage to happen... Momina thought it was so sweet! She just said don't threaten them in the house of God!! Him complying was endearing! :) ]
It's so funny because Jojo was like "Luce does not approve of them moving so fast while so young" LIKE SHE WASN'T ALSO PREGNANT DJDJDJD difference is Luce claimed her husband Roberto as her husband when they were 5 so it's Totally Different. [Luce's reasoning, probably!]
LET THE RAT KING MIMI GO
Mimi is kind of one?? He was wandering the sewers for Cavallone lost treasure, and Dino went with him...he complained every step of the way until Mimi actually found it. Dino is now convinced Mimi is a lucky charm and brings him places, btw.
I could keep going, but let me stop here!!! 😭✋🏾
#nimo's fantastical replies#lili#lixenn#this au is so CHAOTIC#Jojo and I are still coming up with their uniforms#other things bc its in the tags so its fine to go on#Dino/Enma and Tsuna are the Loser Trio#Dino runs his mouth the most so he gets his ass beat the most#things change as Dino grows taller and bigger and he starts encouraging Enma and Tsuna to#also kick these ppls teeth in!!!#all this + Dino's father dying and him having to take on a lot of responsibility#the ecosystem goes crazy bc the arcobaleno have a lot of power and sway#Kyoya allows it for the most part bc they keep the school strong#but to be frank if they clash it gets ugly bc they all rather do their own thing AND NOT FOLLOW ANYONE ELSE#when Byakuran shows up he kind of forces everyone under his thumb#we imagined this was after the arcobaleno graduate!#Mimi is kind of an honorary arco member#not really but also he says he is a pet#they gave him a bean bag and he has a mini fridge full of soda#skull complains!!! why does he get all this!?!?#they tell him to stfu and fill the fridge up#Skull is the arco gopher#no one else can mistreat skull tho fjdjjd bc#reborn would say that was mistreating HIM so its personal#ok I'll stop lol#sorry for errors bc I am sneezing coughing so bad rn

Moral Orel #28: “Orel's Movie Premiere” | July 2, 2007 - 12:15AM | S02E18
Orel has been working on his masterpiece: a stop-motion animation movie about his adventures. He’s invited all of Moralton’s respected adults to the premiere while he and several children are doing the voices on live microphones. Orel’s film doesn’t have synchronized sound and is being projected with an old school projector. This begs the question: what year does Moral Orel take place in? I’m not sure I’ve actually brought this point up before, but the technology in Moral Orel seems to roughly be mid-20th Century, think 1950s-1960s. For example: when people play music it’s always on a vinyl record or over the radio. I can’t even recall an instance of a VHS tape being on the show. I’m guessing this is meant to match the setting of Davey and Goliath, which (begins sweating) THIS SHOW IS 100% NOT A PARODY OF. Sometimes you hear an out-of-time Christian death metal song, and Stephanie, the sex shop owner, has a lot of Suicide-Girl-esque body mods that don’t exactly scream 1950s. My guess is that it’s set in the mid-60s until it’s inconvenient, or Moralton’s strict codes for living prevent technological advancements.
Anyway, the film roughly tells the events of The Lord's Greatest Gift, God's Chef, and Charity. These very important events in Orel’s life happen to be the first three episodes (in the intended viewing/production order). Orel innocently reveals a little too much about the personal lives of various adults sitting in attendance. In particular he bumps up against the psyche of Reverend Putty, who he describes as a great man who is so pious that he doesn’t need to have any girlfriends ever. Putty’s inability to get his dick wet has been a running gag in the show up until this point. He does get his bone on in the previous episode, which might undermine the joke here. It’s important to note that this episode was actually scheduled to air BEFORE that episode, but as far as I can tell the widely-accepted episode order for the series is production-order for season one and air-date order for season two. It makes enough sense.
I guess the more important thing to notice here is that Orel considers the events of the first episode (as well as the following ones) to be a significant moment of his life; perhaps it’s the moment he saw himself coming of age. These events will also weigh heavy for other citizens of Moralton in the coming season, and only then do people start to reckon with the various things they’ve been through as a town.
One memorable moment features Orel’s expressionistic portrayal of being spanked by his father, involving an actual human-sized belt wrapping around his clay maquette as if it were a giant snake. This causes Moralton’s doctor (I forget his name! SO SUE ME) to question if Clay is molesting his son. Clay is aghast and disgusted. It’s sort of a strange moment for me, it would seem gratuitous unless they were intending to center the series climax on this uncomfortable idea. But it seems like he’s not molesting him? Like, he shouldn’t be spanking Orel but it does seem like he’s punishing him in a socially acceptable way. I don’t know. I might be watching season three a little more closely now. I wonder if Dino originally wanted to go full-on Todd Solondz with season three?
At one point (midway through the second act of Orel’s film), Joe takes the microphones away from the other kids and mocks the film while everyone gets mad at him. He calls out the librarian for making eggs be illegal, and calls out Principal Fakey for having an affair with “the dumbest girl ever” (Nurse Bendy). This is ironic foreshadowing for season three. He also has a passing mention of not liking to think about the inevitability of death (who does?). This anxiety could also be related to the fact that his father is very elderly and close to dying himself. This is explored more in season three.
In addition to those bits of continuity, there’s a nod to casual viewers’ penchant for mixing up the name of our protagonist, Orel, when Doughy flubs a line by calling him “Moral”. Ironically this episode is currently incorrectly titled “Moral’s Movie Premeire” on Amazon’s digital service. They also list the episodes in strict production order, which fucks up a lot of continuity. Don’t watch it in amazon order, people. HBOMax seems like they have it all sorted out correctly, for what it’s worth.
This is a very funny episode, and it goes down easy. This MIGHT be the last episode of the show that does that. Get ready for “Nature’, everyone.

It came out a little long, but here it is. Sick dad!Hawks. Hope you guys like it 🥺
Sick Bird
Hawks had to leave the agency as soon as he got there, his eyebags, red nose, and the vomit were enough to send him back home. Thankfully, he was home alone. You were at your agency, and Haru was still at school, and according to Hawks's calculations for the time Haru was going to be home, he was going to feel better.
Big lie.
Hours moved on, and he started feeling worse. And then, the door opened. Damned school transport and their puctuality, he cursed. Hawks got up fast enough, washed his face and made his way to the living room, smiling wide at the sight of his baby boy.
"Chicken nugget!" Hawks chirped, happy but weak at the same time.
"Daddy!" Haru dropped his bag and ran towards Keigo, holding onto his leg. "Why are you here?"
"I could leave early today, I-" cough. A very ugly cough.
"Are you ok, dad?" Haru asked, voice full with concern.
"Shit" He cursed under his breath "I'm fine, I just feel a little sick, that's all" before he could smile at the golden eyed boy, Hawks felt the shivers running down his spine, and cold sweat covering the body under the tank top. Fever, awesome.
Haru was about to speak, but Hawks went as fast as possible to the bathroom, he had dignity and he was not throwing up in front of his child. But to his misfortune, Haru was standing right outside the bathroom, a panicked expression on his face.
"Daddy?"
"I'm ok chicken wing, just wait outside k'?" Hawks said before starting throwing up again.
And he did as told, Haru waited until Hawks had washed his mouth and had brushed his teeth, the older gave a tired smile to the little one.
"Do we go to see the doctor?" Haru asked, fidgeting with his fingers.
"Nah, I'm fine. Is just something I ate. Wanna go play something?" Keigo rested a hand on Haru's shoulder, but right there he felt like vanishing.
A dizzy sensation took over him, making him close his eyes and fall. Luckily, the bed was right there and he ended up sitting there.
"Dad!" His little wings puffed, but Hawks was... Asleep? Passed out? Using his wings and what he had learnt so far, he flapped his wings to fly above the bed, using all of his strength to drag Hawks and put him in a comfortable position, puting a blanket on him. Hawks opened his tired eyes, smiling at him.
"Did you just fly? I heard your wings flapping, buddy. Gimme fi-h" his voice was low but full with proud, and then his eyes closed again.
Haru tried to calm down, was his dad ok? What was he supposed to do? He went to the kitchen to get his dad a glass of water. Should he get pills? But what kind? And then it hit him. Hawks's phone.
Instintively, he looked through all the contacts and called the one saved as "babybird🥰" the emoji and nickname he usually called you at home were the perfect hint. After a few rings, you picked up. But Haru spoke faster.
"Mom, daddy's sick and now he's not opening eyes, and and I don't know what to do"
"Baby? Ok, relax, take a breath. Was he hit by a quirk? Wait a minute, where are you?"
"He was here when I got home from school, and then he throw up, and then he fell asleep and I- I'm scared"
"I see, but take it easy my boy, ok? He's probably just sick, I'm on my way, I should be there in a few minutes"
And those twenty minutes felt like hours. Haru remembered those times when he was sick, and how you put wet towels on his forehead, arms, and belly to reduce the temperature. And so he did. He damped some towels in wet and cold water, it was hard to put them because Hawks was laying on his side thanks the wings, and even his wings looked down. Then, he remembered that he had to drink lots of water, but Hawks wasn't drinking any. Apparently the glass wasn't working, so he went back to the kitchen and grabbed his juice sip bottle, pouring some water in it. Once back with Keigo, he put the bottle neae his lips, and he smiled when Keigo unconsciously took a sip.
You opened the door, feeling worried at the uncommon silence, because every time it was just Haru and Keigo, it was chaotic.
"Baby?" You called, and when you entered to the room, Haru got down quickly as ever and ran towards you, pulling your jeans.
"He is sleeping all day, and I don't know what to do" you could swear tears were forming in his eyes. Haru loved his dad, he was always strong, laughing, playing with him, fighting the bad guys, and now? Laying there, pale as ever, and looking tired.
"Take it easy, I'm sure he's just sick. He'll be fine" you look at the damped towels, his tiny bottle filled with water, and of course his dino plushie. He had been next to Keigo all the time. "You did amazing little chick, you're truly a hero" you encouraged him and kissed Haru's forehead.
"Can you help him?" Haru almost plead, his dad being more important than being praised.
"Yes, let's get to work"
Quickly, you got some medicine so you could wake him up and got him something to eat. "Kei, baby wake up" you caressed his locks "you need to take some medicine" slowly, he opened his eyes and smile weakly at you.
"Hey there you beautiful" and then, his eyes went to Haru "Hey buddy"
"Dad! Are you ok?" He got to the side of the bed quicky.
"Yes champ, I'm good" He used his hand to caress Haru's cheek. "Sorry you had to take care or your old man" Keigo tried to laugh, but ended up coughing "But thank you, you're my little hero" A smile.
"You... You're not dying, aren't you?" A single tear rolled down his face, finally relaving all of his concerns.
"No way, I'm sticking here for a long while" Keigo wiped Haru's tear with his thumb, but you noticed something odd in Hawks.
"Haru, can you go and take the veggies out of the fridge so I can make some soup?"
"Yes!" He nodded, clean the rest of his tears and ran to the kitchen.
"He was here all the time" you said, helping Keigo to sit down on the bed so he could take the medication "you ok?" You asked
"Yeah, I tried to stay strong but guess I failed" low chuckle "me? Yes, I..." He looked away, feeling pressure inside his chest "I just remembered when I was around Haru's age, my parents would tell me that I was just a bother, and now... Now he took care of me, you came too and..." A single tear fell down his cheek "My five year old me wouldn't believe me If I told him how lucky I got" he laughed, in a kind of sad way as he cleaned his cheek with the side of his hand. You hugged him, and his arms embrace you immediately.
"You'll always have us, I promise you that" you whispered, kissing his temple.
"Thank-"
"Daddy?" Haru looked from the door, feeling worried when he saw his father's puffy eyes.
"Hey bud" Hawks smiled, cleaning his tears again "C'mere" he called him, and pulled him in his arms so he could sit on his lap.
"Why are you crying? Is he ok mommy?" Haru looked at you, but you let Hawks speak.
"Yes, and yes. I'm just happy and thankful for having both of you, thank you for being with my today, my chicken wing" Keigo smiled and hugged Haru too, kissing his temple. "I love you, so much" then, his eyes went your way "And I love you too, angel"
Hawks couldn't believe the fact, that now he had everything he ever wanted. Everything.

“Why do so many old-school FFVII fans think that Cloud took Zack’s memories?”
Alright, so first things first. We gotta start from the beginning. We gotta start with Jenova.
Jenova is the name given to the alien entity known as the Calamity. “Heaven’s dark harbinger.” This being, assumed to be female because of the body she was in at the Crater, was basically godlike in her natural abilities. Historically, she was able to shapeshift. She was telepathic. She had a nigh indomitable will. And she used her abilities to infect the race of human(oid)s that happened upon her crash site--the Cetra.
Now, Ifalna, within the English translation of the OG, states that Jenova turned the Cetra into monsters, nearly wiping them all out, and that the wee few that remained basically had to be sacrificed to seal Jenova away before she could do anymore damage to all life on the planet. The notes Sephiroth finds within the Shinra Mansion seem to corroborate this version of events, as he tells Zack that the Cetra chose to fight the Calamity while the other humans “hid”, thus being spared Jenova’s shenanigans, allowing them to become the dominant race on the planet, but ultimately being cowards unworthy to be the shepherds of any star, to quote Emet-Selch from FFXIV. Stay with me now.
We also know that the notes Sephiroth reads within the Shinra Mansion do not, in any way, call Jenova the Calamity. They still refer to her as a Cetra. Meaning that those notes are outdated, before the discovery of a living Cetra, a Cetra who is 2000 years removed from her own people’s history. Right? So.
(’Ah, but what about Genesis point-blank telling Sephiroth the truth? He knew what was up!’ Yes, because Hollander and Hojo found out from Gast’s recordings, and Ifalna herself, what Jenova actually was, and then Hollander told Genesis, who then said some stupid ass shit to trigger Sephiroth into looking into the wrong information, and now Nibelheim is not Nibelheim anymore and Cloud is missing one more family member than he was when he joined Shinra. Also, fuck Genesis. Anyway.)
HOJO, yeah? Hojo, in two separate novels written by Nojima himself, states to Aerith and Tseng separately that Jenova 1) will inevitably infect all life on the planet with her “cells” because of the very nature of the Lifestream and 2) turned the Cetra against each other via subtle manipulation and illusions of their loved ones, dead or alive, conceived from their own memories. She didn’t show up looking like the Eldritch horror with the eyeball nipple, she showed up looking like a run-of-the-mill Cetra. And she would further disguise herself as people a Cetra knew in order to gain their trust. And then, after she had gained that trust, she would say shit like, “Hey. Your friend over there hates you,” or, “Hey. Your friend over there wants to kill you.” And thus the Cetra, at the very least morally but probably also physically, became monsters and tore themselves apart.
You ever wonder why everything the Cetra had was booby-trapped and hidden behind riddles and self-sacrificial bullshit like their Temple? My guess is because Jenova made it so they couldn’t trust anyone, even themselves.
“Why did I read all that? What does that have to do with Cloud voring Zack’s memories?”
Because we gotta understand the mechanics of this bitch first so that we know what to look out for.
Now, we have an alien in stasis--presumed dead but definitely not--and a buncha scientists who really want a coveted spot sucking President Shinra’s dick as head of the Science Dept. who all think that taking the genetic material of a Cetra and splicing it into a modern-day human’s DNA will give them a Geiger counter to the Promised Land. Which they want to use as fuel because only some of them really understand what mako is and the others are just fucking stupid. Anyway, my guess is that they archeology their way to Jenova’s still-kinda-alive corpse and do some DNA testing and go, “Ah! We’ve found a Cetra. It has to be one! She’s by the crater, after all, and that’s where some of them were nuked by a Meteor! :) We’re geniuses!” And Jenova, in the Lifestream, went, “GOTCHA, BITCH!”
And through the power of dino DNA, out pops a lot of nonviable lifeforms, some monsters, and, eventually, a relatively normal kid with a flare for the dramatic who will become wholly obsessed with apples and very boring literature that he will insist on repeating every five goddamn seconds. As he was no Geiger counter to the Promised Land, out pops another relatively normal kid who will grow up to have dreams, and honor, and steal food from his neighbors because he was so damn honorable that he just could not ask for a handout.
With Hollander and Gillian’s experiments not producing anything of note other than children that need love and support, Hojo and Lucrecia decide to take a slightly different sample of Jenova’s cells and just start sticking them everywhere. They’re in Lucrecia. They’re in Lucrecia’s fetus. And...something strange starts to happen.
Lucrecia starts to feel the effects of Jenova. Lucrecia’s mind and body start to kind of deteriorate. Not the way that Genesis’ and Angeal’s do later on, but she is plagued by shit like severe depression and fatigue. She falls out on the floor multiple times. Her bodyguard is a little late on pulling the trigger of the gun aimed at her husband and, instead of doing anything productive about her husband proving he’s an amoral murderous fuckhead, she just decides to play doll with her kinda undead bodyguard, get even sicker, and then, finally, pops out a very strange looking baby. In fact, he looks a little alien.
“No, seriously, what does this have to do with anything?”
Genetics. How Jenova cells work. Whatever clump of cells they injected into Lucrecia, clearly different from those used in Project G, seemed to focus more on the mental fuckery aspect of Jenova than the physical, shapeshifting aspect of Jenova. I would also argue that one of the reasons Lucrecia was so adversely affected by the cells and Gillian was not is their mental well-being. Gillian, even when we meet her, seems very upbeat and doing pretty okay despite her husband having died from exhaustion a coupla years back. Lucrecia was depressed and very subservient even before she married Hojo. Losing her mentor--Vincent’s father--probably exacerbated that. And, later in Advent Children, that sort of mentality--hopelessness and despair--is what Sephiroth’s Geostigma feeds off of. That and thoughts of death/dying. But that is more speculation than anything.
So, Sephiroth’s cells are different from Genesis’ and Angeal’s, and they were all three bred differently, but they’re all kinda chimeras of Jenova’s. And once Genesis learns about his origins, it’s like the lightbulb goes off. This guy’s creating clones by infecting his 2nd and 3rd Class SOLDIERs with his own cells. And when he does that, their physical appearance becomes his own. As does their will. Whatever Genesis wants, the clones also want. And then he just grows a wing for shits and giggles. Once he tells his BFF Angeal the sitch, behold! He’s got monster clones--maybe because he realizes how fucked up overwriting a human being with yourself is--and wings, too. ...Why?
The power to do all of this shit was always there. It was genetically always there. They just had to be made aware of it, to have the puzzle piece put into place. When Sephiroth dies, that puzzle piece is put into place. And then he starts fuckin’ with shit. And turns into monstrous angels. And then dies again. And then comes back and finally grows himself his own wing. He did it, fellas. He’s a big boy now.
But we’re not here to talk about Sephiroth--ignore how much I talked about Sephiroth and his mommies previously--we’re here to talk about ZACK and CLOUD.
“What’s up with Zack and Cloud?”
First, what we must realize is that even though Hojo says that both Zack and Cloud are failed clones because they 1) didn’t take on any physical characteristics of Sephiroth, 2) didn’t seem controlled by Jenova (or Sephiroth) and, 3) didn’t exhibit the other signs of a Reunion impulse like the other clones in Nibelheim that does not mean that Sephiroth’s cells, Jenova’s cells, are not working on them.
As we’ve observed in other 1sts, abilities do not always manifest immediately or even noticeably. Clearly, Sephiroth’s physical appearance is a bit of a hint, but Genesis and Angeal look pretty damn normal and, if it weren’t for their mako injections, they probably wouldn’t be showing that much of an increase in physical capabilities. Theoretically. Maybe 10-year-old Angeal had biceps the size of a man’s head. I mean. Pff.
Zack’s tolerance to Jenova was strong due to his previous exposure in the SOLDIER program. Cloud’s mind broke pretty early on. Neither of these results matter to the fact that they both now have Sephiroth’s cells within them--just as Genesis’ and Angeal’s clones had theirs--and that their very wills are now going to be affected by Sephiroth’s. But they are also going to be a little bit like him in terms of power.
Zack’s hair, when ingested by a Genesis clone, a clone of a Type-G SOLDIER, transforms that clone into a monster. Zack doesn’t even have to do anything. The Jenova/Sephiroth cells within his body can just Do That, cause that change in another life form, of their own accord. I’m honestly shocked that, whenever they gave Zack these S-cells, HE didn’t turn into a monster. But that’s neither here nor there. I wanna talk about Cloud.
Cloud has mako poisoning, which the Remake describes as his spirit/soul being stuck between his body and the Lifestream. Weird. Anyway, he’s not fully aware of his surroundings at all times, and he clearly can’t control his body that much. He somehow has the ability to kinda get his feet shuffling, and I’m going to go on a limb and say he can chew whatever food Zack gives him, but most of the time, he’s a puppet with cut strings.
But he is also still recovering from a mind break caused by Jenova cells. The same cells that are just chilling in his body, like they are in Zack’s. And all the months Zack is dragging his ass across a continent, an ocean, and another continent, they and Cloud are listening to whatever the fuck Zack is saying. Cloud is also constantly in physical contact with Zack.
In The Kids Are Alright: A Turks Side Story, Kadaj has the power to not only read surface thoughts and memories just by being near someone, but he can also read deeper ones by making physical contact with someone. Because Jenova. And Sephiroth, whose cells Cloud and Zack have, in the OG demonstrates that he, too, can glean thoughts and memories from others. Because Jenova.
If this power is a genetic trait, as it is with Genesis and Angeal, then, sitting pretty underneath their skin, Zack and Cloud have this ability. Dormant. Snoozing. Kinda like the 1st Class Trio’s wings.
But Zack has a high tolerance and a high ignorance to Jenova and just what he might be capable of. Cloud’s mind is floating in and out at best. He’s not in control of himself. And when you have a situation like that, it is very, very easy to come to the conclusion that Cloud’s Jenova cells are passively absorbing the memories of Zack’s time in Nibelheim. That they are knitting these memories together with what little remain in Cloud’s head. That when Tifa comes across Cloud at the train station and calls him by name and remembers who he is that Cloud’s Jenova cells latch onto those memories in Tifa--as Sephiroth tells them they did--and they knit those memories with Zack’s and Cloud’s and the end result is the man we get at the beginning of the OG.
Because Cloud has visual memory of shit he never saw. It’s not just a visual medium telling a visual story. You wanna know how I know that for a fact? Because, in the Remake, Cloud remembers Sephiroth walking up to Jenova’s tank in the reactor from Sephiroth’s perspective. He is looking through Sephiroth’s eyes, through his memory, up at “Mother.” In that moment in the Remake, Cloud is Sephiroth. He’s not Cloud anymore.
Cloud sees Sephiroth delivering the speech of being an Ancient. Cloud wasn’t there. Cloud didn’t see that. Zack did. That is Zack’s memory.
The man writing the Remake is the same man who’s been at the head of MOST FFVII writing. He was on the OG, he wrote Advent Children, he wrote the novels, he wrote Crisis Core, he’s writing the Remake. He knows what these cells can do because he’s crafted this world-building for decades.
Cloud didn’t take all of Zack’s memories. He didn’t need to. Kadaj, in the novel, doesn’t glean everything from someone right off the bat. Because he doesn’t need to. Only when he needs to learn something else does he go digging. The same is probably true for what Cloud’s cells most likely did to be able to know what he knows. Hell! Kadaj gets punched in the novel and he ACCIDENTALLY picks up the emotions and memories of the guy who punched him. He didn’t want ‘em but he got ‘em!”
There is evidence within the OG, and even more within the Compilation, that lend weight to the theory that Cloud unintentionally read Zack’s mind when it came to the events of Nibelheim.
For years, people have wondered, “How the hell does Cloud know that if he wasn’t there?” For years, people have wondered, “How can he use the Buster Sword if he was just a little grunt that used a gun all the time?” The logical answer is, “Because of his Jenova cells. They can just do that shit.”

Sweet Survivor Ch.9 Final
He moaned as he woke up, hearing a loud but steady beep to his left.
Why was his right side so warm?
He took another deep breath and heard a hum in his ear from the warmth under him.
“Kenji?”
His vision cleared and he found Ben pressed against his side in robe matching his, legs and feet bare.
Ben had bruises on his collar and a cut on his lip. But he was smiling at Kenji so brightly, Kenji swore he had never seen him look so beautiful.
Kenji was in a bed with him curled against his side, an arm around his neck.
If this was heaven, he would enjoy eternity in Ben’s arms.
“Did I die?” He asked him, leaning close to kiss him.
“You better had not!” A voice said from over them, startling them apart.
Kenji looked up to see a short plump woman with mocha skin, her curly black hair put up in two panda buns. Her soft cotton shirt that said “Property of Kon Incorporated” stretched over her baby bump. Her soft green eyes looked down at him in worry and he wanted to cry as her always warm hands stroked over his cheeks.
“Mijo, you scared me!” She crooned and took Kenji’s face in her hands and kissed his forehead. Ben moved back to give them space.
Kenji sniffed as she used her thumbs to brush away his tears before they fell.
“Candy?” Kenji asked. “Where am I?”
“You passed out from blood loss, Kenji.” She said, voice shaky. “Your father got you and your friends private rooms. Ben is technically supposed to be in that bed over there, but…”
She chuckled and hugged him. “Neither of us could leave your side.”
The Puerto-Rican smiled sweetly, eyes shining with unshed tears. “I want to tease you, but I’m just so happy you’re safe. Your father was a mess and little Carmen kept kicking as if to tell us her big brother was still…”
She sniffed loudly, looking up and fanning her face. “Dios mio…”
Ben smiled at Kenji, who finally looked around to see he was in a large private room, a bay window looking out over a busy city. He and Ben were in hospital robes, the lights turned low and a curtain most likely hiding the other bed and the door where he could hear people passing by.
“You’re in San Jose, Papa.” She said. “We’re staying at my old apartment.”
“We’re…We got away.” Kenji said.
“We did.” Ben said. “And Bumpy is okay from what I saw…”
Ben shook his head, schooling his anguished face into a shaky smile.
“Candy was telling me how she and your Dad met when he first came here to see Jurassic World.” Ben said. “And we just kept talking.”
“Yes.” Candy said, sitting on a plush armchair with a groan and stroking her belly. “Your Dad went to go pick up your friends families. Ben told me about Toro and Bumpy and the suck-os.”
“Suchos, Mom.” He said and Candy squeaked.
“Baby boy, you’re lucky I can’t get up right now or I’d smother you with love.” She said with a blinding smile, reaching out a hand and waving it like a fan.
Kenji took the hand she offered, noting her nails were bitten and chipped. He looked at her again, noticing how red her eyes were. How tired she looked.
“So,” She said. “I’m assuming I’m going to be getting use to my future partner hanging around?”
“What?” Kenji asked.
“Ben here has some amazing ideas for new products. A white tea mask with carob seed extract? I had no idea it could be a daily moisturizer!” She said. “That nice girl, Yazmina? She had packed a lot of things in hers and Sammy’s bags, including a book Ben said you gave to him and he has been going off about how different plants can be crushed, or oils extracted. I always get so bored when my scientists tell me this and that, but Ben really has a zest for this!”
She waved her free hand around excitedly. “I’m thinking a new daily skin care line! The launching off point of my new and improved company!”
Ben smiled up at Kenji. “She likes my ideas.”
“And I need to try that banana carob loaf.”
“Ben!” Kenji exclaimed with a blush.
“I’ve was working on that vest of yours, honey.” She said and held up his vest with thick black stiches holding the claw marks together like torn flesh. “I can get it repaired at home.”
Kenji laughed, imaging Candy struggling with the needle and her excited face when she would make the thread connect the two sides.
“Thanks Mom.” He said again.
“Oh, Baby boy.” She said as the door opened.
“Candela?” Mr. Kon called.
“Kosei!” She called. “They’re awake!”
A woman with a messy brown braid threw the curtain open.
“Ben!” She yelled and gathered Ben in her arms, picking him up like he weighed nothing, holding him like a toddler. She was petite and thin, but obviously had hidden strength.
“Whoa! Mom—" Ben said, holding on tight to her shoulders.
“Oh, my baby! I’m so sorry! I will never ever force you to do something you don’t want to ever again—”
“Sandra, he might be injured!” A broad blond man in a rumpled and stained button up said. The poor guy looked like he lived off coffee and pure anxiety.
“David!” She hissed, making him flinch back. “I thought my son was dead yesterday!”
“Ma’am?” Kenji asked.
Her big blue eyes snapped to Kenji. Her husband came up next to her.
“He has a bruised tailbone, so he should take it easy.”
“O-Oh…Was he in the same bed as you?” She asked, looking very confused as Ben hugged her back and swung his legs down to stand. His father pulled him into a hug too.
“Hey, Son.” He said, voice thick as he rubbed Ben’s back.
“Hey Dad.” Ben sniffed and turned to hug his mom again. “I missed you guys so much!”
Mr. Kon sat next to Kenji and stroked his hair.
“Mrs. Pincus?” He asked in his stern voice.
Ben’s mom looked at the man in the clearly expensive business suit. “Oh, yes, Mr.…?”
“Kon.” He said. “Kosei Kon.”
“Of Kon…” She swallowed. “Kon Incorporated?”
“Yes. I am very sad to hear of what happened to Simon.” He said, face falling as he bowed his head.
“Yes. He was a good man.” She said softly. “It’s going to be hard without him. And I know it will displace a lot of good people who loved him, loved working for him…”
“Do you have a resume handy?” Candy asked from her seat.
“Candy!” Mr. Kon scolded lightly.
Candy blinked at her husband and pouted. Kosei stared her down and her bottom lip wobbled a bit as she stroked her baby bump. The older man’s cheeks reddened at the sight of her big eyes practically begging for something unspoken between them, and he sighed.
Ben was impressed with how she was able to break down such a stern looking man.
“Mrs. Pincus. My wife would like to rebuild her own business after our daughter is born and I…we were wondering if you would be able to help by joining her employ.” He said. “I was planning on asking you after our children had rested enough, but now seems as good a time as any.”
“I’m sorry, but how do they…how do they know each other? From the camp?” Mr. Pincus asked.
“He’s my boyfriend, Dad.” Ben said, making Kenji’s head snap in his direction.
“Kosei Kon’s son is your...” Mrs. Pincus said.
She sat on the bed.
“Yeah. We kinda confessed after I survived falling from a monorail when Pteranodons attacked us. After almost dying, like, more than once,” Ben said with a tilt of his head. “We thought it best to just be honest about our feelings.”
Mr. Pincus sat down next to his wife.
“Oh.” They both said at the same time.
*
“You’ll come visit, right?” Sammy asked as Yaz’s Dad loaded her backpack in the backseat of their cab and her Mom hugged both of Sammy’s Dads.
“Well duh.” Yaz said, taking her girlfriend’s hands. “Gotta come see my sponsor’s new investment!”
Sammy smiled and kissed her cheek, hugging for the umpteenth time.
Darius waved as his mom hugged him close.
“Don’t forget to message me!” Brooklynn called.
“Every day!” He promised her, sliding in his own cab behind his brother.
Roxy gave Brooklynn a big hug as her mom and aunt thanked Dave and Claire over and over, her aunt still crying happy tears.
Kenji held Ben’s hands as their parents waited for them in separate cabs.
Kenji rubbed his thumb over Ben’s bruised knuckles.
“It’ll only be a few months, right?” Kenji asked.
“Well, we need time to pack, pick a house and settle.” Ben said softly. “Besides…still…a little fast for me.”
“Scared of the B word?” Kenji joked.
“Scared of the expectations that come with being a boyfriend. Not to mention all the new things.” He said. “I mean, realistically…we might not even last.”
“Don’t worry. Kenji said. “When you move to California…I’ll drive over whenever you want to see me and give you space when you don’t.”
Ben blushed and gave him a blank look.
“Who are you and what have you done with Kenji Kon?” Ben asked, making a face.
Kenji kissed the wrinkle over his nose. “I’m still Kenji. Being the best at everything. Including boyfriend.”
Ben leaned up and kissed his jaw. “You already are. No expectations needed.”
“Back at you.” Kenji said, kissing him softly. “Besides. I think my Mom and Dad love you too much for me to mess this up.”
Ben chuckled and smiled softly up at him. “See you later?”
Kenji put on his rose-gold aviators.
“You betcha, Sweet thing!”
Ben wrinkled his nose, but couldn’t hide his smile as they parted.
THREE YEARS LATER…
The shrill beeping of his phone went off.
Kenji took a deep breath and tried to sit up, but two arms refused to let him budge.
“Seriously, what’s with this grip?” Kenji whispered, trying to peel off his boyfriend’s fingers.
“No…” Ben whined, adjusting to hug him around the waist, the thin sheet covering their bodies falling to expose more of Ben’s skin.
“Baby, I gotta get my phone.” He said and Ben whined again, hugging a pillow.
He sat up and reached over to get his cell, seeing Brooklynn and Darius’s picture on it. He swiped it and sighed, seeing it was four am.
“What is it, Dino-Nerd?” He asked. “Ben has class tomorrow and I got a meeting I gotta shadow with my Dad—”
“Is Ben there?” Darius asked.
“My boyfriend of three years who lives with me? That Ben?”
“Kenji!”
“Yes! Ben is here!” He groaned and Ben sat up, pulling the sheet up to his chin. “Aren’t you supposed to be at Claire’s office or—”
“Put me on speaker.” Darius said.
Kenji tapped the button and sighed. “Done.”
“Ben?”
“Yeah?” He asked sleepily. “Did the relocation go okay?”
“Bumpy was moved.” Darius said, sounding out of breath.
“Yeah, you told me Zia said they were gonna be relocated to—”
“She wasn’t relocated to the island!” Brooklynn’s voice said suddenly. “We came to check up and—oh my god, they’re getting away!”
“What?!” Ben yelled, and Kenji hugged him close.
“I can see Claire and Owen!” Darius said in the background.
“Guys? Wait, then where is she?” He asked.
“She’s on the mainland!” Brooklynn said. “She was taken to Lockwood Manor and—Darius, duck!”
They heard a squeal. “We’re okay.”
“Lockwood Manor?” Kenji asked.
“She’s not the only one!” Darius said. “There’s so many! Wait is that…Toro?!”
“Get in the car, get in the car!” Barry yelled over the phone. “We’ll recon around the property and pick them up.”
They heard a far-off roar and the sound of an engine.
“Guys!” Ben yelled.
“We’re okay! But you need to spread the word! Get your families up north as soon as possible! We’re going to stay and help Claire and Owen!” Darius said. “There’ so many and I know Owen and Claire are going to need help. We hate to ask you…”
Kenji looked at Ben. His boyfriend nodded; determination set on his face.
“We’re in.”

I know this is really far ahead into the future, but could u write Amelia finding out she’s pregnant again? Totally unplanned but very welcomed and she scolds link for knocking her up again 😂 and maybe Link going “hey my guts prevailed!” just like in PP when Cooper found out Charlotte is pregnant 🤪
that’s for the prompt i greatly appreciate it! i hope you have a great day and enjoy this
unexpected
“Hey, are you alright Amelia?” Link gently shook her shoulder trying to wake her up.
“No, I’m dying leave me alone.” Amelia snapped, pulling the covers over her head.
“Ooookay then, we’ll I’m gonna take Scout to school. Then I’m going to head into work, do you want me to pick you up?”
“No, I’m sleeping. I’m not leaving bed today.”
“It’s Ellis’ birthday, you promised Mer you’d help her this afternoon.” This caused an irritated groan from the woman.
“Scouts gonna be late. You better get moving and leave me alone.”
“Okay, okay I’ll get going. Feel better.”
_________________________________________________
“You look like crap.” Meredith said as she opened the door for Amelia.
“Why thank you.” Amelia bitterly responded petting the dog who was jumping up looking for attention.
“I needed you to bake the cake, if your sick you can’t do it though. I don’t need people getting sick.”
“I’m fine Mer.” She made her way to the kitchen to begin baking.
“Oooookay then. Well I need to go find this book Ellis has been dying to read. I went to one book store after dropping the kids off and couldn’t find it so I’m going to try another. Are you good here?”
“Yep don’t worry about it Mer.” Amelia smiled as her sister left her alone with the dog. She began to pull out the ingredients and cooking utensils she needed. Once she put the mixture into the pan and put it in the oven before she headed over to the couch.
“Hey.” Maggie said tiredly as she came into the house after a night shift. She sat herself down next to Amelia. “I’m exhausted, I just want to sleep. But you know it’s Ellis’ birthday.”
“Hmm.” Amelia hummed, the beeping of the oven then startling her. “I gotta go get that.”
“Why were you put in charge of baking?” Maggie questioned following her into the kitchen.
“Oh I don’t know, maybe because last time you baked a birthday cake you almost caught the house on fire.” Amelia sarcastically said, starting to feel more like herself. “How was your shift?”
“It was alright. Nothing to exciting I didn’t operate just consults and monitoring a patient. Why didn’t you come into work this morning?”
“I wasn’t feeling too good.” She carefully slid the cake from out of the pan and onto a baking sheet.
“Are you better now?”
“Yeah” She said as she took the icing from out of the fridge.
“I’m starving.” Maggie said walking towards the fridge. “I’m gonna make some pizza want some?”
“Sure” Amelia answered distractedly, she was trying to ice the cake without making a huge mess.
“Okay I’ll make this cheese one since you hate pepperoni.”
“It’s fine just make the pepperoni.” Maggie turned around and looked at Amelia very confused. She would always refuse to eat any pizza with pepperoni on it.
“Umm okay then.”
________________________________________________
“Well I think that was a success.” Meredith commented starting to wash the dishes in the sink. It was a small get together with a couple of Ellis’ friends and the family.
“Yeah.” Amelia yawned taking down the streamers in the living room.
“We can finish up here if you want to go home Amelia.” Maggie said as she was picking up miscellaneous items on the floor.
“Okay, I’m out then. Have a good night guys.” Amelia grabbed her bag and her coat then yelled ‘Happy Birthday’ to Ellis who was upstairs reading.
“What’s up with her?” Meredith asked as Maggie sat at the kitchen island.
“I think she’s pregnant.” This caused Meredith to turn around abruptly.
“You think so? Do you think she knows?”
“I don’t think she realizes, but today I was making a pizza and she didn’t have a whole hissy got over the pepperoni.”
“Oh Maggie that could mean anything. When your a mom you just start eating whatever.” Meredith turned back around to continue her task. “Well she didn’t look well when she came over I thought she was sick. She was fine this afternoon though.”
“She’ll find out soon enough.” Smirked Maggie.

“Mommy I missed you soooo much.” Scout ran into his mother once she came through the door.
“Oh I missed you too baby. How was your day?” She asked as the pair walked over to the kitchen where Link was heating up dino nuggets the only thing their son would eat at the moment.
“It was good. I made a drawing for you.” Scout ran to his room to fish the drawing out of his book bag.
“How was Ellis’ birthday sorry we couldn’t make it.” Link said supporting his head with his hands as he leaned against the counter.
“It was quiet, but very nice. She’s definitely much different than her siblings. Sometimes I think Zola and Bailey will never shut up.” Laughed Amelia.
“I wonder where they picked that up from.” Link sarcastically remarked, causing Amelia to roll her eyes.
“Here mommy.” Scout jumped up beside his mother on the kitchens island.
“Aww, thank you so much my sweet boy. That was very kind of you to draw this for me.” She admired the picture of what she thought was a prehistoric reptilian of some sort. He had a recent obsession with anything dinosaur recently.
“Your welcome mommy.” Scout smiled as he reached out for the plate his father set down for him.
“I’ve gotta go to the store tomorrow need anything babe?” Link asked as he took out his phone to make a list.
“Umm not that I can’t think of. Just make sure we have enough dino nuggets.” She laughed as she shoved one in her mouth. “Wait, Scout needs more of those vitamins he’s running low. Oh and floss please.”
“Of course the floss.” Link laughed, there wasn’t a night that his girlfriend didn’t floss her teeth. “While I’m in that section do you need tampons.”
“No I’m good.” After she said that she froze. She hadn’t needed a tampon in an absurd amount of time.
“You okay?” Her boyfriend nonchalantly asked not thinking much of his girlfriends reaction.
“Yeah, yeah. You ready for bath time bud?” Amelia asked her son.
“Yep.” Scout jumped down from the chair he was occupying. After Scouts bath he headed to his room to be read a book with his father, and Amelia lingered a little while longer in the bathroom. She crouched down to the cabinet and found a pregnancy test she never ended up using from a scare awhile back. She waited the five minutes for the results and when she flipped it over it caught her by surprise even though she knew what it was going to say. A knock on the bathroom room jarred her out of her thoughts.
“You okay in there babe?” Link asked from the other side of the door.
“Come in here.” Link obliged and let himself through the door. Everything finally clicked when he saw what was in her hands. “You’ve got to be kidding me Link! You knocked me up!”
“I mean what can I say? My guys really prevailed.” Her boyfriend smirked.
Link! I just started my research back up. We’re in a comfortable routine with Scout. How’s Scout going to react? We would definitely need to move this apartment wouldn’t be able to capacitate all of us. What if Scout hates the idea of a new sibling?” Amelia ranted on, while she bit her nails.
“Ooookay, one thing at a time. You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.” Link said while taking her hand away from her face and holding it.
“No, of course I want to. It’s just...unexpected. It’s just a lot, I wasn’t expecting it.”
“It definitely is unexpected.” Chuckled Link. “But Scout was too, and he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to us.”
“You got that right. Thank god we can finally move. This apartment was really getting on my nerves.” Amelia said, standing on her top toes to kiss her boyfriend.
“Hey, you said you liked the apartment.” Link said after Amelia had kissed him.
“Well I think Scout would have fun in a backyard.”
“Your right, though. I think if we let him he’d live in the woods.”
“Most definitely” Amelia looked her boyfriend in his eyes. “I guess we’re having another baby, Link.”
“I guess we are.”

Take My Breath au - Roadtrip (Duscae)
Some bad, some good, some cute - and some of Sola terrifying the shit out of Ravus. @secret-engima because hey, we get to see Ardyn and Sola exchange words!
-Sola has to admit that helping Uncle Cor take out the Norduscaen blockade was cathartic (though the exasperated why me look he gave her after she walked in the front gate with the rest of the Retinue, glaive across her shoulders and she cheerfully announced that being the distraction was fun was completely unnecessary) and she’s in a much better mood as they wander through Duscae looking for more royal tombs.
-They pick up a couple hunts - including a damn behemoth so Prompto can ride Chocobos, but in the face of Prompto’s delighted expression no one can begrudge the blonde - and Sola heals a few people from what looks like poison. Black crawling through their veins that feels like a smothering, choking fog as Sola pulls it into herself. She frowns as her magic fights off the poison, but sluggishly, taking hours, even days where normally she’d be fine in a manner of minutes.
-It’s odd, but her magic beats it off as it does everything else, so Sola simply keeps her gloves on and jacket sleeves down to hide the black creeping up her hands and wrists. The others would only worry, and she’s fine.
-Until she’s not.
-Until the poison in her veins are creeping up her forearms, up her arms, and she’s vomiting up black goo almost every night. Fortunately, she has her own tent - as big as Gladio’s is, there’s no way to cram four people inside when three of them are six feet tall, and Gladio is... Gladio - and a decade of having hanahaki has taught her how to hide the fact that she’s getting sicker every day.
-In Lestallum, Sola crashes hard when they reach the Leville. She sleeps in later than Noctis even, and wakes up after Noctis has left with Iris to tour Lestallum. Ignis returns first, and it turns out that Pelna and Axis are in Lestallum and Sola takes the chance for an update.
-She even waves off the Chocobros when they go to find the next Tomb, instead going out to get takeout and finding a discreet place to have lunch and talk about glaive operations.
-Then lunch gets interrupted by that same silky tone Sola is coming to hate. She’s not the only one to react violently, weapons whirling through the air. Ardyn casually sidesteps them all. His casual remark that Sola’s finally found herself a Shield is met with a snarl from Axis, but Sola waves both Pelna and Axis down. They cannot afford to start a fight here - too many civilians, too many refugees that cannot afford Imperial attention turning to the city - no matter how much Ardyn deserves a knife to the kidney.
-Then Ardyn grabs Sola’s hand, pushing her sleeve up and revealing the black poison stark against pale skin before Sola can wrench her arm away. But Ardyn knows what this is, mentions that it is the Scourge her little brother is fated to defeat, even if at this rate Ardyn doubts Sola will live to see it. Pelna and Axis still dangerously, and Adryn leaves with a vague comment of wondering how Sola will go.
-Sola, Pelna, and Axis return to the Leville, where Sola pulls Jared aside and asks him to look into the Starscourge - and what happens to those who are infected with it. It means revealing her infection to Jared and making the man promise not to tell the others, because Sola can feel it now. She’s dying, and unless they miraculously find a cure, Sola won’t survive.
-Pelna and Axis are not happy. They argue with Sola when Sola refuses to divert Kingsglaive forces to researching the Scourge. She tells them that they don’t know if there is a cure, and it’s more important that they continue to fight the Empire. Pelna is named Second, and if when Sola dies, he will be Chief.
-Unfortunately, Iris overhears enough and bursts into the room to confront Sola about it. Sola sighs and lets Iris look at her arms with trembling fingers. She has Iris promise not to tell the others, because they need to focus on protecting Noctis, not her. Iris nods, and Sola kneels down to wipe away Iris’ tears. Especially because Iris sniffles that she’s going to leave her Shield all alone. The glaives blink down at Iris, and Iris sniffs again, this time in part offense and says that she’s not blind. Axis is Sola’s Shield, and... Iris hesitates before she quietly adds that he’s family too, isn’t he?
-Axis is still as a statue, and Iris babbles that he looks a bit like her grandmother, and he acts a lot like Gladdy and her father around Noctis and the king. Iris shuffles when Axis still doesn’t react, and she asks why he never said anything. Axis, faced with a crying kid, immediately switches over into dad mode, and he gently tells Iris that he’s a bastard. It would’ve brought too much scandal for both Lord Amicitia and Axis’ family if Axis came forward. Iris pouts, but she grew up in Insomnia and while she wasn’t involved in court, she was still trained, and so she doesn’t try to argue against what she knows is true.
-But Iris is also whip smart for being only 15, and Iris asks if they were worried about the Council forcing Axis to be Sola’s Shield. Axis blinks, but Sola smiles at Iris and confirms it. It’s why Sola helps Axis hide his ties to the Amicitia, because both Axis and Sola wanted it to be their choice. Iris nods, hugs Axis tight, before scampering off to help Jared and Talcott with their new research project. Because she doesn’t want either of her older brothers to lose their King/Queen.
-Sola is out with Pelna and Axis, finishing up reports and orders and plans (and telling them to send some of the Ornata over to Galdin Quay to find one Dino Ghiranze) when she gets a text from Ignis that they’ve returned from the tomb and are going to check out the Disk of Cauthess. Sola texts back and tells them to be careful of the Imperial presence in the area. Sola doesn’t worry when they aren’t back by nightfall - Ignis texted her to tell her that they’d rented a caravan for the night.
-Axis and Pelna, being absolute shits, stick Talcott on Sola babysitting duty before they leave. A duty little Talcott takes to with enthusiasm. Sola sighs, flips her two glaives the middle finger where Talcott can’t see, and proceeds to bow to Talcott’s every whim. Because she’s always been a sucker for kids. (Iris, the traitor, hides giggles behind her hands and cheerfully waves as Talcott drags Sola to wander around Lestallum. Sola won’t admit it, but the sunshine hurts on her skin, hurts her eyes and she makes sure to buy sunglasses. Sola refuses to give up sunlight, even if it hurts.)
-Sola abruptly worries a lot more about her little brother when Titan wakes up and throws a fit. Lestallum isn’t too damaged in the resulting earthquake, but the sight of the giant Astral is... an eye catching sight to be sure.
-Then the Chocobros return to Lestallum by Imperial airship, and Sola learns that they’ve been interacting with Ardyn. Sola snarls, because herself is one thing, but he is not allowed to meddle with her little brother!
-Without the Regalia, the group is forced to rent Chocobos to get around. Fortunately, the birds can cover more terrain than the car, and it allows them to avoid the sudden Imperial blockades that have cropped up. Sola splits off from the group in order to organize and lead glaive operations in blowing up the blockades and bases.
-And, well, Sola’s seen the way Ignis keeps glancing at her, and she’s worried that he’s starting to suspect that she isn’t as well as she pretends.
-Sola gets a call from Cindy pointing her towards Archeole base, where the Regalia has been impounded and waiting for shipment to Niflheim. Sola leaves Pelna in charge of wider operations, and takes Axis and two other glaives with her to meet up with the Chocobros just outside the base.
-Sola does not step into the Haven. She tried that a couple days back and it was not fun, Sola does not recommend. It means she’s now running mostly night shifts so she can sleep during the day, but she’s managing.
-Instead, Sola leaves the two glaives to coordinate with Ignis and the others while she and Axis sneak around to scout out the base.
-Night falls, and Sola and Noctis’ group infiltrate at separate points. They proceed to sneak around and murder their way through the base. Sola’s group focuses on taking out as many MTs and imperial forces as possible, while Noctis’ group heads for the main generator and the Regalia.
-At several points, Sola calls forth bursts of sunlight to disorient the mech sensors. It sears through her veins like nothing has before, but it’s the best option she has so Sola forces herself to continue through the pain.
-Frankly, Sola thinks Noctis calling down Ramuh to smite the generator is overkill, but the glaives are an Awe.
-Ravus has just pushed Gladio back against the Regalia when about two dozen weapons materialize around him. And Sola slinks out of the shadows, all predatory grace and lethal smile. “Hello, darling.”
-Ravus doesn’t dare move. Not with the blades pressed against his throat, against eight different spots that will kill him instantly if Sola wills it. With the two blades pointed at his eyes and the gun against the back of his head.
-He’s seen the power of a Lucis Caelum armiger. It’s not something he ever anticipated being on the other end of it.
-Sola’s almost a foot shorter than him. That doesn’t stop her from using the tip of her wickedly sharp blade to lift his chin. “Tell me, darling,” And Ravus has never heard an endearment sound so threatening, “why I shouldn’t cut you down where you stand?”
-He says nothing. There is nothing to say, no convincing reason he can give for Sola to spare his life. And Sola knows it. Her smile widens until it’s less a smile and more a snarl of bared teeth.
-“I’m afraid I will have to protest, dear Princess.” Sola twitches as Ardyn materializes behind them, but her glaive doesn’t move as she turns to glare at the High Chancellor. Thank the Six, that blade is uncomfortably close to his throat. “Lady Lunafreya will be most put out if her brother dies.”
-Out of the corner of his eye, Ravus sees Noctis wince. Sola however, is unmoved. “This is war.” Sola drawls, “Lady Lunafreya will understand.”
-“Let him go, and all of you will be allowed to walk free with your Regalia.” Ardyn promises.
-“Please, I’m not that stupid.” Sola scoffs. “I let him go, you’ll kill all of us.”
-“You have my word, you will not be harmed.” The Lucians give Ardyn dubious looks, and Ravus honestly agrees with them. After Insomnia, what Lucian would trust anyone from the Empire?
-“Your word means nothing.” Sola counters with a vicious smile, “Try again.”
-Ardyn tilts his head thoughtfully. “Oh? It almost seems like you want a reason to spare him, dear Princess.”
-Sola laughs. It’s the most chilling thing Ravus has ever heard.
-“Hardly.” Sola says. “But your attempts amuse me.”
-“Sola,” Noctis intervenes, voice quiet but firm. “Withdraw. We’re leaving.”
-A breathless moment where Sola is utterly still, before her weapons shatter into shards of golden magic. Her hand forms a shape, and Ravus suddenly spots the three figures waiting in the shadows when they move, forming a formation and waiting for Sola to join them.
-“As my king commands.” Sola intones. She fades back into the shadows with inhuman ease, sparing a moment to send Ravus a smile that sends shivers down his spine. “Until next time, darling.”
-Those words are going to haunt his nightmares. And Ravus prays to the Six that there won’t be a next time. He’s not certain he’ll survive it.

Okay so. In light of seeing a lot of Seventeen on my dash lately I've decided I'm finally gonna take the time and actually stan
(It was always gonna happen eventually. I've just been busy okay?) Anyway. That made me remember this post which has been dying in my drafts for literally months, so I decided it might be fun to dig it up and share. So here we go 👍
Kjersten's First Impressions of Seventeen:
S.Coups: I remember my first thought was "How do you say that??? Is it actually 'S *space* Coups?' or 'Scoops'" (I was so confused y'all I'm so dumb) additionally I remember thinking that I always jokingly talk about how difficult it is for Jinjin to be a single father of 5 boys I can only imagine how hard it must be with 12... Aksjzjsk
Jeonghan: "This man is literally more beautiful than I will ever be wtf????" I'm very distressed by how naturally lovely he is. Like, I've seen him with long hair and he looked so pretty?? (Rest in Peace to his long hair 😔) but I was like 'oh they had to have him cut his hair in order to protect girls from being sad that he's prettier than them, lmao' but then he also looks gorgeous with short hair too so just, fuck Carat lives I guess :/
Joshua: I love you Jesus (ajdhjajs) my first impression was that he seems like that oldest brother who is practicality perfect in every way and of COURSE mom and dad don't have a favorite child, that's ridiculous (but they definitely do 👀) (don't ask me where this impression came from, I don't even have any brothers, this is just the narrative that my brain came up with)
Jun: "He looks like a fox" that was my first impression. And yeah sure, 'fox' as in 'attractive person' okay that too. But also: he looks like an actual fox imo 👀 his eyes? His nose. just like. his face in general seems very fox like to me. Like if you were doing a play where all the characters are animals, the actor who plays the fox would look like Jun 🦊
Hoshi: Clap was one of the first Seventeen MVs I watched (and I watched it a lot bc I fkn love that song) and I just remember being like "👀 who's the red head..." 😂 so that was my first impression of him. (Tomato!Hoshi was truly a gift) and we love a talented choreographer in this household
Wonwoo: I have to be honest... I mixed him up with DK so much when I was in the early stages of learning everyone's names. Don't ask me why, I just did. So yeah, my first impression of him was basically just 'which one is he??' and then thinking he seemed very quiet and sweet (the fact that he seemed quieter was how I was like, 'okay that one is Wonwoo' askdjsksj)
Woozi: I know this is very unoriginal and cliche but I have to be honest, my first impression was 'Suga 2.0' I know that they are their own different people and I respect that but they do have some similarities so that was my fist impression. On a less boring note he's also the pioneering member of the 'Male Idols (That Kjersten Knows) Who are Actually Valid and Allowed to be Called Short' club, so he will always have a special place in my heart
DK: (Refer back to the Wonwoo paragraph adjsjakjs) first impression was that he's an absolute crackhead (which once I realized this made it much easier to identify him if I was ever unsure) how does he have so much energy? I'm baffled
Mingyu: First impression: "I'm sorry it had to be this way, but I hate you instantly on principle..." bc he is 13 full inches taller than me and I just cannot abide that (this is a joke! (but also it's not... 👀)) I'm sure I will eventually come to love him once I find out more about him but he is Too Tall and that is Illegal 🚫 (I'm watching you 👀)
The8: "That boy is made of sticks literally HOW does he move like that?????" In the absolute most endearing way possible my first impression was just 'oh my God he's like, made of noodles, he looks like one of those inflable tube men' and being baffled as to how someone so lanky could be so graceful. Seriously. Minghao???
Seungkwan: My first notable impression of Seungkwan was the day All Light dropped and he made that sweet post hyping up Astro and telling people to go listen to it and I remember my first thought was like "I love you instantly and I would already die for you, you precious blueberry" (bc his hair was blue at the time 😂) and like, finding out he and Bin are such close friends just makes my heart really warm I'm so happy for them 💗.
Vernon: One of the first people I was able to recognize when I was learning names. Also the first person whose voice that I was able to identify. Also it was pretty clear to tell that he's a chaotic meme. We stan.
Dino: I've always loved dinosaurs since I was a little girl, what can I say? 😂 We know from spending one (1) minute on my blog that I am a big fan of dancers (👀) and obviously everyone on performance team (and everyone in the whole group, lbr) are phenomenal dancers so it's no real shock. But I just remember learning he was the maknae and like 5 minutes later being like "damn! that little nugget has moves!" 😂
#some people i had a very clear first impression of#others i had to kinda wrack my brain for (sorry some of these are kinda boring)#seventeen#svt#k pop#kjersten talks too much#kpop

Drake X Female Reader (Plushies)
Remember that drawing of Drake with the plush? That was for this.
Also this came from my Wattpad in case you wanna know. And it a bit oldish soooo... Yeah.. Hope you like it :P
Feel free to give criticism as long as it's not rood™
Warning: Fluffly adorkable dino ahead(?)
Alsooriginallythoughtof @crapitskizaru whenwritingthisatfirstcuziknowshelovethedinosotagginghercuzwhynot
-----
People always say, "Calm down," or shit like, "Be more chill," or some other shit. And honestly? I feel like I'm perfectly fine and I'm always chill... Not. I can "be chill", but cross the line and test my patience and I might kill a bitch or two. Like always, only a few people get spared. Examples my parents obviously, my friends most of the time, people who are somehow surprisingly barrable, Law, Robin, etc, aaaaaand him.
No not that shit from PPG, sorry not sorry, but Mr. Shy Dino Boi.
Diez Drake.
Why is he shy? Two- three, four??? words. Women. And their bodies. Why he dino? Cuz I'm preeeetty sure he has an infatuation with them. Not like I'm jealous, or... anything...
So yeah, basically, I like mister I fall to the ground and have these random friggin hearts around me for some reason because I saw a girl's almost naked body. Trust me, it has happened.
Even to me.
But they were all accidents, he claims. In his first year, I think Zoro may have possibly possessed him in an unknown way cause somehow he ended up lost on the way tO THE MOTHERFUCKING MALE LOCKER ROOM. ITS NOT EVEN CONFUSING!!!!!!!! Yeaaaaah, he's still claimed to be a pervert for that. Just a few people. Not many, but just a small handful. Even though I'm pretty sure he only saw Nami. . . Lucky bitch... probably. Toootally not jealous. Totally.
As for me, since I get put in the friend zone, apparently he came to my house unannounced once, eventhoughapperentlyhesentamessage, and I juST HAPPENED TO BE CHANGING. Think someone said he had a nosebleed. Might have been my fault for not checking my phone. But it's not my fault he texted me the one time I don't have my phone on me.
Anyways, while I have been to his house/room before, and yes it's filled with Jurassic Park/World posters, today just takes the cake.
Because never before, have I seen that dino plush before. Yes, I know what I said. A DINO PLUSH.
And I just spirited away and died on the inside from the cuteness. Thank god he left for the restroom when I saw it on his bed. Cause I swear I'm pretty sure I squealed a bit. Luckily it was quiet, but iF HE WERE IN THE ROOM. HE WOULD QUESTION THE FUCK CAME FROM ME AND JUST STARE WITH THE CUTEST FUCKING FACE THAT ALWAYS QUESTIONS ME WHEN I DO WEIRD SHIT. And I'm pretty sure that's 95% of the time, most of them internal. The other 5% is filled if me questioning him, which, isn't alot... Oh god, hope he doesn't hate me when I do weird shit.
After dying from fangirling, which is a lot, I then slowly got curious as to who got it for him. Maybe even jealous. Or not. You readers will never know.
I mean- what.
Finally, after what felt like forever, he came back. "What took you so long?" I ask only to then see cookies in his hands.
"... Nevermind, you're excused. Now gimme the cookies ples."
He just gave me a small chuckle that melted my heart and handed me some yummy cookies, moving to sit on the edge of his bed.
I was at his desk, backwards on the chair while I nibbled on the (favorite flavor) cookie in silence. Sadly, I didn't notice his blush to the way I ate.
It was quiet for awhile until he cleared his throat to speak, and scratched the back of his neck, which I actually saw this time. Adorable.
"I-I hope you like them. I actually, made them myself." He muttered loud enough for me to hear. He had a small but noticeable blush while averting his gaze and instead to the floor. I swear, it took everything NOT to just whip out my phone, take a picture, and set it as my wallpaper. So instead, I just died on the inside from his constant cuteness.
I hummed a little happy tune to signal I enjoyed them, but really, I just wanted to rant how amazing he and the cookies were.
Honestly, it didn't surprise me much since I already knew he lived alone. His mom was dead, and he had moved away from his abusive father, who I may or may not want to strangle if I ever met him. Luckily for his so called father, I haven't met him. Yet. Not sure if I wanna meet the asshole who made my crush suffer as a child.
After I finished my cookie, don't know how many I already ate, I spoke up.
"You know, I'm not really surprised, but what does surprise me is that it taste fucking amazing! ... Sorry, jsut saying." The adorable shy bastard chuckled again, even though he wasn't exactly fond of my cursing. But seriously, how many times is he gonna chuckle at my misfortunate life.
I grabbed another cookie while he grabbed the light green dinosaur plush and made his way over to me. Once next the the seat I was at, he started to lightly attack me with the plush, holding out the little arms to attack me. I'm pretty sure I was gonna die of a heart attack today.
"Noooo," I playfully yelped. "Not da cookies~" And we both lightly giggled. But his was more of a chuckle.
I went to lean back while shielding myself, but life decided to be a bitch and I went in to fall on the floor.
I'm not sure why, but I flapped my arms around like a lunatic for an unknown reason. My body probably thought it would help. But when I thought I was sure my head was gonna hurt like hell from the fall, my left arm gripped onto the arm of the chair.
Thankfully the impact never came. Somehow. . .
I open one of my previously shut eyes to see Drake looking a bit scared, a small roll of sweat currently rolling down his face. His hand had grabbed mine as his other hand went to grab my left pulling me up. Apparently he dropped the dinosaur plush on me, probably not wanting to drop the the lil cutie on the floor... Drake's still cuter. I took his hand and he pulled me upwards, bringing our faces closer.
We were both blushing messes by the time we pulled away and I had clinged to the dinosaur plush.
My eyes darted around the room, becAUSE I SWEAR I HEARD A GROWL SOMEWHERE.
"You should really be more careful (Y/n)." The worried yet flustered male spoke up as my eyes landed on him. When I sorta stared while he spoke, I could've sworn his blush grew a bit. God that's adorable.
"Don't worry I'm fine..." I mumbled clinging a bit more onto the plush T-Rex.
I turned around and set my feet on the floor to avoid that again when Drake suddenly picked me up. I turned my head to him as he set me on the bed and pried the plush from me, setting it near the pillows. When he did that, he laid his head on my chest and hugged me. I think my face was as hot as the sun by now.
"(Y-Y/n)?" God, his stutter, will be the death of me. I know he already stuttered earlier, but my God he's just too cute.
I hummed again in response because I'm pretty sure my throat was dry from the cuteness.
"I-I know this might be awkward for us, but I-I just want to let you know that I-I think I l-like you... I-it's fine if you don't like me back, but I just, wanted to let you know." He mumbled into my chest, his grip tightening around my waist.
What's hotter than the sun? Because that would describe my face perfectly right now. I'm pretty sure he felt my heart beat sooooo fuck it. I hugged him back and looked to see his face. He was just an adorable little tomato right now.
"(Y-Y-n)-"
"Shhhhh. Just, be quiet right now."
He lifted himself up closer to eye level, us still a red mess, but smiling.
"Just for the record, I like you too." My smile widened. "Also, you're adorable." His eyes widened as I brought myself closer and dozed off into my dreams.

SVT as Mutants and Mutates Pt 2
Please read part one first! It’ll make more sense!
Masterlist
Boo Seungkwan- Code Name: Apollo
Ability(ies): Healing; Healing oneself and others faster than naturally possible, and often through supernatural means
Status: Mutant
Development
He didn't fully develop his abilities until his early teens.
He had always been interested in medical stuff so he pursued it into high school
It started with small things
That he knew of, at least
Paper cuts that healed in a few minutes
A twisted ankle that healed in 4 hours
So he asked his parents about it and they told him the truth
When he was a kid he used to kiss their “boo-boos” and they would actually heal
His father had even once broken his leg but it healed faster whenever Seungkwan drew on the cast
He took the news pretty well, seeing as he had a less obvious power
Training
He started attending medical seminars while in high school
And collected tons of books on the subject
When word slowly spread that he was a great healer, mutants started flocking to his house
So his parents refurbished a shed out back as his office
It was a win-win,
The Boo's got money, Seungkwan got to train
Then one day, Cheol walks into his office(shed)
He's a little beat up and worse for wear
But Seungkwan patches him up no problem,
Then Cheol asks him to join them at Pledis,
To which Seungkwan politely declined
But when he was 17 Jun crashed onto his lawn and he didn't have a choice but bring the guy home
And he really liked it there
So he stayed
They hooked him up with the medical wing, which was sweet
In house doctor, without having to pay
Nice
Current
Boo as he's known, sometimes Apollo, mostly stays in the medical wing, his room (which is next to the medical wing) or Vernon's room
Jeonghan, Minghao, and Vernon are the people most often in his care
Because they're stupid and overexert themselves
He loves them he does, but damn they dumb
He's not remotely a field agent
Fuck that shit
He's part of SVT but he's the support squad
Also, he's got the voice of an angel?
Like if he's just patching somebody up, or cleaning up, he's singing
Which is part of the reason Vernon likes him
They're the perfect duo
The only people who don't know that Seungkwan and Vernon are in love are Seungkwan and Vernon
~~
Kwon Soonyoung- Code Name: Bullet
Ability(ies): Superspeed; Movement faster than otherwise humanly possible.
Status: Mutate
Experiments
He was 7 when they took him
His powers developed almost as soon as he arrived.
They had him running laps to cull his insane amount of energy
Then suddenly he was a blur
He hates how early his ability developed
It meant he spent the rest of his time in captivity running tests
Literally
They had him hooked up to a treadmill most days monitoring his top speeds till he collapses
Then they throw him in a small cell with a bunch of food until they decide to pull him for more tests
When they weren't watching he was seeing if he could vibrate through the wall
Or shatter the glass
or literally, anything to get out of this fucking hell hole
But to no avail
There was this kid in the cell next to him
Its someone named Jihoon
He arrived later and Hoshi feels horrible for him
He wasn't sure why but when he was 15 Jihoon just disappeared
It really pissed him off
And he shattered the glass viewing window at the front of his cell
So he was moved to complete isolation
Just a dark room with steel walls
And just barely audible over the screams from some of the more insane captives, he could hear music
And he danced to it
It kept him sane and fit
then the music stopped
It pissed him off again but he couldn't do anything.
So it became emptiness
And he gave up
Rescue
When Cheol and Jun arrived to get Hoshi they found an empty facility
Jun searched the place but they didn't find anyone
Then Cheol found a lone security camera pointed at a cell with only one inmate
He barely responded when the boys went in to get him
He was just sitting with his arms resting on his legs, covering his face
When Cheol squatted in front of him and touched his arm to see if he was alive
He bolted to the other corner of the room
Wide-eyed, he gaped at the other boys
Then he apologized
When he got back to the manor he just kinda quietly followed Cheol around
Then he found Jun dancing in one of the rec room and joined him
Current
If he's not dancing, check Woozi's room
He's probably annoying him
He and some of the other dancers put on little performances for the squad and the kids
He also teaches the kids how to dance
When he's needed on SVT missions it makes him super happy
He hates being alone
It scared him
But you can't really tell since he's mostly a bouncy ball of sunshine
~~
Lee Seokmin- Code Name: Angel
Ability(ies): Clairvoyance; seeing things or events in the future or beyond sensory contact, Empathy; feeling and at times, altering, other people's emotions.
Status: Mutant
Development
He didn't realize he had abilities as a kid
The Clairvoyance, never really happened until he was older
Mostly it was just empathy
If his parents were upset, he was too
If his teacher was having a good day, so was he
It was really weird being in school
All these emotions bombarding him
So he set out to be happy,
All
The
Time
At first, he didn't realize he was causing people's emotions to change
He thought he was just a cool guy
But then his mother was sick and feeling awful
She wouldn't let him into her room, so he didn't get sick
So he just sat outside her room
Being upset and willing his mom to be happy again
And she was
Training (Kinda)
He started testing his abilities on people at school
He focused on positive emotions though
The girl whose mom was in the hospital was suddenly smiling for the rest of the day
His clairvoyance appeared in high school
He was taking a test when suddenly he could see the answers
He didn't understand, figuring it just to be his brain's panic response to the unknown
But then a few days later, he saw his friend getting hit by a car
Something told him this was going to happen the next day
And it almost did
But Seokmin stopped him from going into the street
He waited to do something about his powers until he graduated
Then he waited a little longer
Because shit's scary
So he called Pledis when he was 19
When he got there
Literally, the moment he stepped in the doors
While Cheol was asking him about his abilities
He had a vision
It was about Dino
And then he passed out
Cheol was really sick of catching seers
Current
He rooms with Jeonghan and whoever recently came in.
He's technically part of SVT but doesn't tag along unless absolutely needed,
He prefers to stay behind and be emotional support (lol)
He's often awake with Jeonghan and whoever has had a nightmare but he doesn't go out with them
He just sends calming waves over to them
Honestly, I want a DK
~~
Lee Chan- Code Name: Blink
Ability(ies): Teleportation; instantaneous travel from one location to another
Status: Mutate
Experiments
He was 4 when he was taken
They put him under every test they could think of
But nothing was happening
So they tossed him in solitary confinement
He was 9
A few weeks later they shoved someone in the cell next to him
The guy would just play music all the time
And he wondered how but stopped questioning it
He was 12 when he finally saw another person
He and the person in the cell next to him, a pale dude who was drugged after being taken out were being moved.
Chan was handcuffed and thrown into the back of a truck with the drugged guy
They drove for a while
Eventually, the drugged guy woke up, groggy as shit and told him ominously
“If I die, don't tell my family.”
To which Dino stared at him in horror
This guy was like a year older than him, max
“What's your name?” Was all Chan could respond with
The car stopped moving the second after.
“Vernon”
Then the doors were opened and Vernon was grabbed and pulled out
Chan figured he'd never see the guy again
In the new facility, they tossed him back in solitary
Where he stayed until he was 17
Rescue (kinda)
When he was 17 he was dragged out of his cell
And pulled through the facility
To more testing or death, he wasn't sure
but he freaked.
As they dragged him by a security guard complaining about some hideaway for mutants
He saw a picture of the Pledis Manor
And closed his eyes, picturing it
Then suddenly he was laying on his back
He could smell flowers and feel a soft wind.
When he opened his eyes he was looking up at a blue sky,
It was sunny which made his eyes hurt
He sat up and looked around, finding a huge manor nearby
At first, he thought he was hallucinating while dying
But then a taller man in a white shirt came to him with a smile
“I was wondering when you'd get here”
Jeonghan brought him inside and made him hot chocolate
The pair were talking about the other people in the facility
Like Vernon, when Hoshi walked down
He mentioned the music he would hear and Hoshi perked
It brought them closer together, knowing they were from the same place
But Hoshi just wanted to know about Jihoon
Chan wanted to know about Vernon
Neither had answers
But Chan chose to stay instead of going hunting
He wanted to learn what had happened
How he had gotten there
Luckily someone else knew how to teleport and helped him
Current
He's irreplaceable as the youngest member of SVT
Also, none of them can teleport
He also learned how to teleport other people as well
He's pretty fucking cool
Like Hoshi, he has nightmares about being in isolation
But Chan also likes being alone a lot
But withing hearing distance of other people
So he hangs out on the roof with Shua a lot
But when Vernon arrived, he nearly shit himself with happiness
So they stick close sometimes
Like when Vernon wants to be alone,
He likes being alone with Chan
They both do
He's unsure why Jeonghan loves him like a son
He's only a few years younger than the guy
But overall he does love his hyungs, even Jihoon
~~
Xu Minghao- Code Name: Thanatos
Ability(ies): Necromancy; reviving the dead to semi-cognitive forms, Immortality; incapable of dying.
Status: Mutant
Development
He's kinda had this ability since he was 7
But he never told anyone but his mom who kept him hidden
It all started with a dead bird in his front yard
He picked it up and got sad that it was dead
But then it wasn't anymore
And it flew away
And Hao looked at his horrified Mom with blood flowing out of his nose
What a horrifying sight
Training
He trained himself
In a lot of things
Biology, Anatomy, Martial Arts, Poetry
He just hid and studied
He started bringing back things, just to see if he could
And to improve his strength
Now he wasn't just killing small animals
That would make him a sociopath
But he would go into the forests for days at a time and find dead and decaying animals and bring them back
Its kinda scary
He's never brought back a human though
Oddly enough, he happened upon Pledis
He was just in the woods, hiking and looking for dead things when he saw the building
At first, he thought it was just an abandoned building
When he got closer, he saw someone come outside
And they were waving to him
He wasn't sure why, but he went over to them
It was Dk, grinning like the sun
He was surprisingly chipper, but it made Hao feel better?
So he said “fuck it”
Called his mom
Told her he wouldn't be coming back any time soon
And stayed with Pledis
Current
He didn't abandon his mom
He still goes to see her a lot
Usually with Jun
His mom likes Jun because he is also Chinese
He's part of the SVT but mostly is just there because martial arts
He's a scary boy
And he can’t die
He's never brought a human back
And he's kinda scared to
But he's always training to just in case
He likes dancing with Hoshi, Jun, and Dino
Its a good way to get over the fact he literally has the power over life and death
Which everyone seems to forget a lot
But they watched him bring a bear back to life and control it
So now everyone's kinda scared of the tiny Chinese boy
Also, he always wears bucket hats on missions
No one knows why
~~
Chwe Hansol- Code Name: Soundcloud
Ability(ies): Electrokinesis; generate and control electrical fields
Status: Mutate
Experiments
He was 6 when he was grabbed
His parents had done a decent job of hiding him
But even moving from New York to Korea didn't help
He didn't understand what was going on for a long time
At first, he was kept in the standard-issue cell
Three walls of brick and one of glass
Until he was 10
Then his abilities surfaced
It was storming outside and Vernon was staring out the little window when lightning struck the ground right next to his head
But nothing happened to him
He just turned to the doctors that ran in to see if he was still alive
But when they pulled him for testing the first nurse to touch him got zapped across the room
Every time they actually got him out of his cell he would touch the walls of the compound and turn off the lights
So they tossed him in Solitary
You know, throw the guy with electrical powers into a metal box
Good job.
He learned that he could create music by tapping his fingers on the wall
The electric sounds served as a background to his bad beatboxing and semi-bad rapping.
Then a few years later they pulled him out of the cell and knock him out
He barely remembers waking up to spook Chan
Rescue
He doesn't remember much
He had gotten shoved into another solitary cell
This time with no neighbors
He still just made music
And thought about his parents
Then when he was 19, roughly 5 years later he heard something different than just the normal sounds of the facility
Some loud thumps
So he called out to the guard in the corner and was answered with the viewing hole being covered
So Vernon did the only thing he could think of
He summoned a huge electrical field
and blasted the door off its hinges
nearly squished a Jun
And then promptly passed out
When he woke up he was on a bed in the medical wing
Literally second later Chan burst into the room and hugged him
Which made Boo shout at him
Vernon is almost certain he fell in love with Boo at that moment
Current
If he's not with Shua or Boo, he's probably alone in a corner
He's constantly trying to find his parents
Even if everyone thinks he should stop, he won't
And Cheol doesn't want him to give up on them either
Turns out he's really good with computers
But don't let him fly the plane
Someone nicknamed him storm once and he zapped them
Then educate them on the fact he could only manipulate electrical fields
He's a member of SVT, and arguably the deadliest
Others think its Shua or Gyu
but Boo told him he was the strongest so no one can take that from him
~~
Lee Jihoon- Code Name: Phantom
Ability(ies): Invisibility; Cause oneself and specific objects to no longer been seen by the human eye.
Status: Mutate
Experiment
He was taken when he was 10
His parents were scientists and knew about the gene
So they kept him hidden as long as they could
But he was eventually found
Since he was older they were ruthless in their experiments
In the cell next to him was this guy, mostly known as Hoshi
But they didn't talk much
He always just wished he was invisible,
One day he was
He was 15, and had bolted from the hold of one of the nurses
They chased him down the hall
but when he turned the corner he vanished
He seemed to realize they stopped chasing him after a few moments
When he paused to see why he caught his reflection in one of the steel doors
Or his lack of a reflection I should say.
This shocked him into being visible again
And got him captured again
They actually taught him how to control it
And trained him to be a spy
He hated it
But his other option was death so
Hey, useful skills for his next escape attempt
Which brings us to
Rescue
His escape attempt was the same day Cheol and the others showed up
This time they brought DK
Jeonghan had told them what Woozi could do
He managed to get out of the wing he was trapped in and all the way to the lobby before DK noticed him
Scared the shit out of Seungcheol when he just kinda popped into existence
Didn't want to go with them but figured it was better than staying there.
Current
He was only rescued a few months ago
But he's a very important member of SVT
Not only can he go invisible, but he's also scary
but also adorable cuz he's like 2 feet tall
He found Shua's guitar in the greenhouse and played it
Which made Shua super happy
But Shua scared the piss outta Jihoon by just popping out of a tree
So he stays indoors now.
Cheol and Jeonghan are pretty much the only 2 he puts up with
Everyone else is only healthy in small doses
I hope you guys liked this! Don't forget to request any scenarios, headcanons, or reactions your heart desires and I’ll do my best

Make sure to read the positions of the members in the gang, you’ll need the background info~
Warning: Fighting, Abuse, Mention of Blood, Normal Gang!AU Trigger Warnings (?)
~Blake
S.coups
He knew you were worried, but he couldn't contact you without putting you at risk. He was on a dangerous mission to the enemy's base and he did not tell you that, knowing you'd be against it. He promised he'd be home an hour ago, but getting shot in the chest kind of slowed down the process. The mission went well, despite the bullet that barely skidded his chest. The bullet hit nothing vital and just grazed his skin, so he was grateful he could still rush home to you since he knew that you would not sleep until you knew he was okay. You ran into his arms when he came inside the home you two shared and you noticed how he winced when you hugged him. He explained he got shot and you immediately panicked.
"Babe it's not as bad as it sounds, it barely touched me."
"Then take off your shift and let me deal with the rest if it's not a big deal."
Jeonghan
It was rare he'd be in battle, he was the guy who would go to the parties to sneak out info and leave before any real fights started. But this evening, one between two drunks began out of nowhere and Jeonghan was caught in the dead middle of it. All he remembers is sipping a glass of champagne before two men pushed him onto the table and started wrestling on top of him. The glasses that were arranged on the table shattered on his back, but his suit jacket took most of the blow. Now he only had a bunch of cat like scratches on his back that stung like fire. He went home after that, just as most of the other party goers did to avoid the police, and you asked what had happened.
"Just a cat fight is all."
"I have a kit in the bathroom." You would say before dragging him to the bathroom and sitting on the counter to be able to treat his wounds. But with him, he turned around and stood in between your legs and kept kissing you.
"You spoil me rotten." He'd smirk.
"Let's hurry up so I can really spoil you." You'd wink back.
(damn this turned into smut quickly do I have a hidden jeonghan kink? I mean who doesn't bc look at this man)
Joshua
Poor dude would be the one to fall into a trap and fall over trip wire and wouldn't even notice his bloody knee until you brought it up at home. He was too embarrassed to tell you what really happened and refused to tell you the story but you ended up guessing what had happened and he just becomes a whole blushing mess while you're sanitizing the cut.
"Not so big an tough now, are you?" You would giggle.
"Oh my gosh, are you kidding me?" He says while his face is as red as his knee.
(kimbap kidding)
Jun
Since he's the snipper, he is used to being the sneaky one and he does not entirely focus on his surroundings. They can throw off his aim, and there was never really a need to since he is hidden in the distance where no one can see him shoot. This night was different, however. He was assigned to take care of an enemy but it turns out someone snitched and the enemy was expecting him. He set up at a rooftop about 30 years from the building he was told to be at, and the enemy's guards found him and began beating him. They only got a few punches in before Jun grabbed his handgun and got away. He didn't immediately run to you, he wasn't sure if he was being followed or not so he went back to base while talking to S.coups about the ambush. S.coups called you and ordered Hoshi to pick you up and bring you over. By the time you were there, Jun was basically patched up but you wouldn't leave his side.
"How many times have I told you to be careful?"
"I love you."
"And how many times do you listen?"
"I really love you."
Hoshi
He'd gotten a new dog today which he rescued from a bridge. He knew the dog was aggressive but only because it lacked the proper amounts of love. After feeding the dog he tried to gain it's trust by allowing it to get his scent and petting him, but Hoshi moved a bit to quickly for the dog's liking and it bit his hand. The dog released almost immediately, which proved to Hoshi that the dog didn't do it to be mean, but because it was scared. He spoke calmly and left the room, seeing the dog curl up in a corner and whine. While Hoshi was wrapping his hand you just so happened to walk in with a bag of food you were going to surprise him with. You saw how much blood it was and nearly fainted.
"It's just a bite, the dog didn't mean to do it."
"I understand that, but you really need stitches and we're going to Seungkwan right now to get them." You'd get annoyed with his reluctance to go to the doctor, but you knew it was really just because he didn't want to leave his new dog all by itself.
Wonwoo
He would come into you room in tears, feeling completely broken because of his father. He tried to stand up for himself, but to no avail. He didn't care about his wounds and you didn't care about getting blood on your shirt. You pulled him into a hug and let him cry until he fell asleep. (Promo: Here is the story that died about wonwoo, I recommend)
Woozi
Since Woozi is literally never on the front, he can go outside as he pleases as no one knows his name or face. He was grocery shopping for the movie night you and him were having when three men trapped him while he was turning the corner and drug him into an alley. Two men held Woozi's arms while the other stood in front of him. The man said he knew who Woozi was, who he worked for, and that his group messed with the wrong people. Woozi defended his family and spat in the man's face. The man wiped the spit off and brought out a knife. At that point Woozi was not afraid of dying, he knew he'd die eventually, but he was worried about you. Your life without him. Your happiness. He was afraid of who will take care of you if he leaves this world. The man came at Woozi, but just scratched his face with the blade. One long line of blood dripping down his cheek from his temple to his jaw. The man snapped his fingers and the two other men let Woozi drop to the floor and the tree of them left. Woozi waited a few minutes to leave, just to make sure they were gone, and went home to you.
"Jeez, babe what happened to you?" You asked while pressing a towel to his face to absorb the blood.
"It's fine. I'll deal with it tomorrow." What was most important to him was you, so when you and him got the bleeding to stop and put many bandages on his face, you two settled down for a movie night with a lot of forehead kisses from Lee Jihoon. You wanted him to tell you what happened, but you could let it wait until morning.
DK
He hides everyone in the gang so he is seen as the good neighbor who is always offering the children oatmeal raisin cookies he made with a new recipe he's trying or to water plants for people that are away. Making him an easy target for a dumb burglar who was itching to check out the rich part of town. You and DK were sleeping in bed when you woke up to a noise you thought you heard coming from the kitchen. You tapped him awake and he thought you were just hearing things before he heard it the second time around. He told you to stay in bed and to call S.coups in three minutes if he was not back by then. DK grabs the baseball bat he kept underneath his spot on the bed and started heading down the stairs. The burglar was in the doorway and was armed with a crowbar, DK spotted him as soon as he went all the way down. He hit the intruder before he could turn around but it didn't knock him out and the burglar struck DK with the crowbar on his shoulder. DK recovered quickly and him the burglar with the bat again, making him finally pass out. DK grabbed a pair of handcuffs he kept just in case and cuffed the burglar's hands behind his back. He went back upstairs and saw your from behind hang up the phone.
"Did you call S.coups?" He'd ask. You jumped, not hearing him come back into the room.
"Sweetie, are you alright?!" You yelled while pointing to his shoulder, which was bleeding a bit but bruised more.
"He got me with his crowbar, but he's passed out and tied up downstairs. S.coups will come and take care of it. Let's get back to bed." You weren't having it but you couldn't do much since the ice packs and first aid kits were downstairs. There was no way in hell you were going down there with the burglar still there.
Mingyu
Mingyu was out with Dino late at night, standing guard in front of a vault that a partnering business asked S.coups to protect the night before a grand opening. S.coups was going to do it himself, but Mingyu had thought this would be a good chance to get Dino some experience, after all there was nothing to worry about. Everyone went through and perfected the plan and agreed to it when there were no holes left to fill. The enemy dresses as an employee was not predicted, however and Mingyu got hurt defending Dino, who didn't even see the man with the knife coming. Mingyu got stabbed in the stomach and was injured pretty badly, but Dino bravely fought off the enemy, disarmed him, and got a hold of S.coups. When he was done with S.coups, Mingyu told Dino to call you and to hand him the phone. He was relieved you had answered, he thought you would have ignored the call since it was so early in the morning and he was sure you were asleep. He told you he was hurt and that he wanted to stay on the phone with you until S.coups arrived. He explained what happened, but kept it vague so you wouldn't be too exposed to his job. You let him know that you were on your way to the base, and he begged you to stay at home.
"I don't care, you don't get to tell me when I am allowed to see you. Especially when you have a gash in your stomach and could be dying as we speak."
"You have a point there, sweetheart. And don't worry, you can't get rid of me that easily."
The8
He had successfully snuck into the camera room of the enemy base and shut off all of the alarms. His part was done, now the other members can make it in easier and steal back the weapons these people took from them in the first place. Of course, they'll leave a message as a reminder not to take what wasn't theirs anymore. The8 turned around in the chair to leave when he heard footsteps outside the door. He looked at the cameras and the SVT members were all out on the mission, meaning someone else is by the door. Before The8 could find a place to hide, the door opened and a member of the enemy's team walked in. The8 could recognize the face tattoos. The man charged at The8 and pinned him against the wall, The8 kicked his body off of him and ran towards the door. By now the man could've notified others of The8's presence and the mission could be compromised. He pulled out his walkie talkie to warn S.coups but the man came back and smacked the device out of his hand. All The8 saw next was darkness. When he woke up, you were sitting above him and wiping his face with a damp cloth.
"Y/N?" He asked, things were still hazy for him. He could barely recognize the room he was in, his and your bedroom.
"Glad you're awake." You smiled. Mingyu and Hoshi literally carried The8 into your house about an hour ago and said he was chloroformed during a mission. You knew he'd be alright, but you aren't going to lie to yourself; you got a little scared after he didn't wake up for a while.
The8 sat up slowly and wrapped his arms around you, falling asleep on your shoulder.
Seungkwan
Working on so many people's bodies is normal for a doctor. But working on your own body is the real challenge. Seungkwan was called to come onto the field because someone got shot, but not anywhere as to where it was fatal. This was also normal, someone would escort Seungkwan in and out to make sure he didn't get hurt while coming to save someone else. There was a window right next to Seungkwan that shattered from a bullet ricocheting off of a beam. Seungkwan used his arms to cover his face, leading to his arms from the elbows down having inch deep cuts. On the way home he tried to patch himself up, but it was difficult to reach it all so he went home and smiled sheepishly at you.
"I got myself in a bit of a pickle."
"You're telling me."
But honestly he’d stare at you while you wrap the bandage around his arms because he loves how you learned by watching him do it to other people.
Vernon
He was working with a new kind of explosive when there was a bit of a malfunction in the chemical balances, and a fire broke out. It wasn't like an uncontrollable flame, but the table top caught on fire and Vernon was tapping it with a cover to stop it. When the fire went out he realized he burned his hand and ran to the bathroom to put it under cold water. Coincidentally you walked out of the bathroom at the same time and saw his hand. You grabbed his wrist and put it under cold water yourself and brought out the antibiotic cream and wraps.
"Thanks Y/N."
"Yea, yea, don't mention it."
You wouldn't make a huge deal of it since he didn't get hurt like this often, but you warned him to be careful for the future.
Dino
You were walking home from school when you felt someone was following you from behind. Every time you checked there seemed to be no one there. You thought you were making things up, but you were getting more and more nervous by the second. You called your boyfriend Dino when you heard footsteps behind you and saw a hooded figure. He told you to stay on the phone with him and walk faster, he was tracking your location now and was going to pick you up. He snuck to the garage and took one of the many cars he was working on and raced to where you were, which was the longest five minutes of his life. When he found you he got right out of the car and ran up to you. You were so relieved to have seen him you started to tear up and he hugged you to his chest and kissed your tears away. He looked all around but saw no one.He brought you to the car and buckled you in. He was going to look around to see if he can find anyone. Jut around the corner was a homeless man in dark clothing. He smiled at Dino evilly and asked if the pretty woman was still there. Dino's blood boiled and he told the man to leave you alone and to go somewhere else. The homeless man jumped Dino and brought out a knife, cutting Dino's cheek before he knocked him out. The smell of alcohol was so strong, Dino was one hundred percent certain the man was drunk beyond belief. When Dino went back to the car, he didn't care about his cheek. He grabbed your hand and held it in his.
"I'll drive you wherever you need to baby. There are some creepy bastards here."
"Your cheek..." You whispered, still a little shaken up by the fact that there was someone following you after all. What would have happened to you if you had not called Dino at all?
"It's alright, just a cut."
You went into your book bag and took out tissues you kept for when you had allergies and began dabbing at his cut, cleaning it as best you could. Dino blushed and smiled widely.
"Thanks mom!"
"Ok then bleed out if you want."

Okay, so in the past I’ve already made posts about my ideas for a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Abridged series as well as my ideas for an AU in which Lora gets resurrected, but I think it’s about time that I get to the big thing: How I would rewrite the main game’s story/what I’d change around. I should point out, some of these ideas aren’t really that refined yet, and I don’t have that many ideas to give some characters that deserve more spotlight the attention they need, but regardless.
Everything’s under the read more, because this obviously gets long.
Torna - The Golden Country, Malos after that and a bit about Pyra
First things first, I’d keep the story of Torna - The Golden Country pretty much the same, with the exception of one thing in regards to the ending. Namely, rather than simply falling into the Cloud Sea being damaged, Malos is forced into a “repressed form”, similar to what Pyra is to Mythra. For this repressed form, it’d be a water element Blade going by the name of “Hydros”, to continue the trend of Malos’ element mirroring that of Pyra. This would also make it a bit more believable that Jin would join up with him, which I felt was rather iffy in the base game, since, y’know, Malos is responsible for a lot of shit that happened to him?? On a more general note, this would also make it more believable that Malos would be able to lay low for 500 years, because everybody just forgetting about the Aegis that caused the death of several titans feels just a bit too convenient. In terms of ideas on his design, the concept I have in my mind is that Hydros’ hairstyle is essentially what Malos’ hair would look if it got really wet, and was a dark shade of blue, to really drive home the point of him being water-elemental. Additionally, since he is a “broken” form of Malos, a could have an immediately obvious physical disability, such as missing an eye, hand or arm. This last point is something that I’d also apply to Pyra, since her design was supposed convey that she was an incomplete person. But since this is XBC2 we’re talking about here, it only really conveyed that Saigo and the entire development was way too horny. So it should go without saying, but most of the female character would be wearing more sensible clothing, with Pyra and Mythra in particular going fully armoured in a style similar to Malos.
Backstory for Rex, Tora and Vandham
Another thing that I’d change before the actual events of the game’s story would, of course, be the background of Rex. One of the biggest issues with canon Rex is that he has (with the exception of Azurda) no relationship with any of the characters of the main cast before the start of the game. This makes him feel extremely disconnected from all the events of the plot, and just makes it seem like he has no personal connection to anything. Therefore, I’d have it so that he didn’t grow up in Fonsett village, or even the Leftherian Archipelago. Since his Leftherian heritage is a plot point, that aspect of him is kept. However, rather than Rex’ parents suddenly showing up and dying with an infant Rex in Fonsett is changed to them doing the same thing in Torigoth. The person that his parents entrust him to is then also not just some NPC who has exactly one (1) scene of importance, it’d be a character with an actual role in the story - Vandham. This adoption would be taking place before Mor Ardain conquered Gormott, with Vandham’s presence on the titan being justified by him and some of his mercenaries being hired by Gormottian officials to help protect the people of Gormott in the increasing tensions with Mor Ardain and Uraya, which would be rather lengthy mission that’d allow Vandham to stay around long enough to actually raise Rex. Also, since Rex and Vandham are already in Torigoth? Vandham also takes in Tora after his father and grandfather disappear. Since the main game was rather vague about the point in time at which this actually happened, I’ll say that this happened when Rex was still a young child, meaning that him and Tora grew up together. Another thing that then happens while Rex and Tora are growing up is that Mor Ardain conquers Gormott, which would eventually lead to Vandham returning to Uraya because he needs to finally return to Garfont, leaving Rex and Tora in the care of Azurda. . . .Which I’ll just flat out say, this is a point that I have yet to work out some more for myself. Vandham just leaving Rex and Tora is rather irresponsible, and Azurda comes out of nowhere. But really, I currently have no real ideas on how to justify Azurda leaving Fonsett and getting to know Rex, except for maybe him having travelled along with Rex’ parents, and sticking around out of a sense of having failed them. Either way, the important part here is: Rex considers Torigoth to be his home, and having witnessed Mor Ardain conquering it and Gormott leaves him with a personal grudge against Mor Ardain, that he eventually needs to overcome, by the time of the main story he still spends most of his time out in the Cloud Sea with Azurda, salvaging. That, and Vandham is his dad.
Now, for the actual main story: Prologue
The opening scene remains unchanged, since it is a good enough introduction to the setting. However, the trip to Goldmouth is, all things considered, really just unnecessarily padding things out, and introducing things and concepts that don’t really matter that much. And even from a gameplay perspective, the mechanics introduced there could’ve just as well been shown off at Torigoth. So instead, let’s say that rather than returning to Goldmouth right away, Rex and Azurda stay in the Cloud Sea til nightfall, at which point they’re surprised by a storm - the very same that in canon happens before the Torna discover the sunken ship. Accordingly, Rex and Azurda come across the Torna and their party, and, realizing that Rex staying on Azurda would be pretty dangerous, have him come aboard. Jin, Malos (who I’ll keep referring to by this name instead of Hydros as I’ve called the sealed form he’d be in at that point, because it’s more convenient) and Nia are introduced much like they are in canon, and upon noticing Rex’ eyes, they recruit him for their expedition. As a small side note, Rex would here be able to open Addam’s seals because he explicitly is a descendant of Addam, which however wouldn’t be that big of a deal. Over the course of 500 years, it shouldn’t be too unbelievable that Addam’s line has spread out, so that there’s more than just one of his descendants running around. From here on, much of the prologue chapter would play out the same: The ship is found, raised, Pyra is found, Jin stabs Rex, Rex becomes Pyra’s Driver, over-the-top anime battle, Azurda escapes with Rex, Pyra, Nia and Dromarch. Of course, Nia’s initial bond with Rex is a bit weaker because they don’t share that little heart-to-heart on the ship’s lookout, but that shouldn’t affect Nia’s actions when seeing Jin stab Rex. On to the next chapter.
Gormott
The party still crash-lands in Gormott as in the base game, and gather around as they do there as well, complete with Azurda being forced to regress into his young form. However, dynamics and interactions are shifted around: Rex and Pyra actually use the moment to get to know each other a bit, because, y’know, they only really had the scene in the Dream-Elysium before that. Towards Nia, Rex is a bit more wary, since she was a partner of the guy that killed him, and her (and Dromarch) insisting that they don’t want anything to do with that sort of thing. Regardless, Rex can still trust them enough so that they travel together. In terms of Rex’ initial relationship with Pyra, they have some starting difficulties, which are also going to take some time to resolve. While Rex is willing to help Pyra get on her way towards Elysium, he sees no point in travelling there himself, figuring that it is no place for him, and that he’d rather stay with the people he considers family. He also considers using Pyra’s power to drive Mor Ardain out of Gormott, which she obviously shuts down immediately, seeing as she was born of Mythra’s fear of her own power. So since they can’t really send Pyra off to Elysium from their current position, and since Azurda still got them to Gormott, Rex figures that they best head to his home, so that they can properly weigh their options, and maybe contact Vandham about getting some help. The arrival in Gormott happens much as it does in canon, with the big exception of course being that Rex considers the place home, and isn’t too happy to see the recruitment for the Ardainian military going on. Regardless, the confrontation with the soldiers and Brighid still happens, Nia is captured, and Rex, Pyra and Azurda get away. Instead of blindly running away however, Rex leads them more directly towards his and Tora’s home, banking on Tora noticing what’s going on, and helping them out, which of course is what happens. Now, for Tora, one general thing right of the bat: The maid fetish thing is gone. Entirely. Doesn’t happen. If anything, he considers Poppi is daughter regardless of her form, which can be the replacement comic relief, since he’s still a child himself. As for Poppi’s further designs: Rather than “big tiddy anime maid” and “sexy robot woman”, they can instead be based off Nopon myths about creatures like bird people and dino beasts. Now, upon meeting Tora, Rex has a lot of catching up to do, which culminates in Tora chewing him out for going out to experience all this cool shit, while he was stuck at home looking after the house and doing some hopeless tinkering on Poppi. With that out of the way, the party comes to the conclusion that they can’t just leave Nia behind, and, as in canon, they get to rescuing here, complete with finishing Poppi first. While the canonical reason for Poppi not being complete was that Tora simply couldn’t afford the parts, this reasoning doesn’t really work as well with him living with both Rex and Vandham. So instead, the reason why Poppi isn’t functional yet is because, well, getting a functional AI with the exact powers and functions of a Blade isn’t exactly easy. Tora simply hadn’t been able to figure it out until Rex left for the trip where he would wind up finding Pyra. With this done, the party heads onto the Ardainian warship, where the rescue of Nia happens as it does in canon, up to and including the battle with Mòrag, which they just barely escape, leading to them fleeing Torigoth. In a departure from canon however, Rex isn’t too happy about having to flee Torigoth, and Tora isn’t too happy, either. This has been their home for most of their lives, and now they have to run away from it because they’re wanted - and Rex in particular feels like ever since he met Pyra, they’ve only ever been chased around. He does kind of blame her for this, both on the other hand, since she has saved his life, he’s of course still going to help. Tora, in contrast, is not as bothered as Rex is, because he sees this as a big opportunity to get out in the world and search for his father and grandfather, especially since he finally completed Poppi. In regards to Nia however, Rex is now more willing to trust her, since she does owe him for saving her. Keeping things more similar to canon, Tora still suggests that they head on over to his uncle on the other side of the titan, so that they can get a ship to head off towards the World Tree.
Lora getting resurrected
At this point however, I’d finally introduce a more major departure from canon, in using my premise for an AU in which Lora is resurrected. So instead of just fully typing that out again, I’ll just shortly summarize things. For a more detailed version, I refer back to the original post I linked up at the top. -The Torna organization has already tracked Pyra and the others down to Gormott, and has landed with the Monoceros around the area where Tora’s uncle lives -The party just barely manages to avoid all of the Torna minus Patroka as they head further onto the titan to search for them -Realizing that they’ve got an opportunity, the party decides to enter the ship and sabotage its engine, to make it easier for them to escape -While roaming around the ship, they come across the room where Jin keeps Lora’s body along with a Core Crystal (Haze’s) -They unfreeze Lora’s body, and Nia, noticing that this is a person that is only very “recently” dead and well-preserved, resurrects her while no is looking (like Niall in canon) -It works, Lora lives again, has amnesia (as in, she has no idea about her identity other than her name), but still (re-)resonates with Haze’s Core Crystal and joins the party -The party sabotages the engine and leaves the ship, but not without encountering, fighting and defeating Patroka -With this done, the party visits Umon, who gives them a titan ship to escape on -On their initial trip towards the World Tree, Lora and Haze get to properly know the party, who they are, and what they’re doing, with her coming very close to remembering something when the topic of discussion is on Pyra, but not quite getting there; Pyra and Azurda keep quiet because they need to figure out how to deal with this; Lora ultimately resolves to travel with the party in the hopes of uncovering who she is that way and because she feels like she owes them -Meanwhile, in the Torna organization, Jin, upon learning what happened, orders Patroka to keep quiet about what happened because he wants to figure out himself what to do about this; he’s especially not trusting Hydros (whose true identity as Malos he doesn’t know) out of a hunch -Unrelated to the premise of Lora being resurrected, at some point around this time, Rex drops the question of why Pyra wants to go to Elysium, anyway, which she dodges for the time being.
Uraya, Vandham, Minoth and Mythra
The party getting attacked by Artifice Ophion and swallowed by Uraya then happens as in canon, just as the events up to and including the encounter with Vandham. This encounter then is of course far different, since Vandham actually has a backstory with Rex, Tora and Azurda. And while he is surprised but overjoyed to see his “sons”, he still fights them, because he wants to test out just how good they are as Drivers now. After the battle, they all head over to Garfont, where there is a lot of catching up to do, especially in regards to Vandham being filled in about Pyra, Nia and Lora. On account of Rex and Tora’s relation to Vandham, the rest of the party also gladly heads to Garfont. For Rex and Tora, this’d also be the first time that they’re seeing it for themselves, which would cheer Rex in particular up a great deal. Most of the events in Garfont would still largely play out the same, only with the party also trying to figure out if anyone there has any clues as to who Lora is. Pyra and Azurda would still keep quiet about this, because, well, a lot of shit went down, and they’re not sure how to really tell her about this. Either way, the party, now with Vandham and Roc, decide to seek out Cole/Minoth, after fighting and defeating Akhos. The encounter with Zeke and Pandoria is then exactly the same. The only thing I’d ever change about that is them being acknowledged as a very legitimate threat to the party. Then, in Fonsa Myma, after watching the play about Addam, Lora gets her first flash of resurging memories, which let her remember that she was a knight of Torna who knew Addam, but not much beyond those basic things. When meeting Cole/Minoth however, things quickly turn into a four-way reunion. Minoth is not too terribly shocked to see Pyra and Azurda again, but Lora is another story entirely. In his surprise, he blurts out some things that Pyra and Azurda specifically kept to themselves, such as it having been 500 years, and just what happened to Torna, and what they thought had happened to Lora. Overwhelmed with everything she’s learning/remembering, Lora steps out for a while, with only Haze by her side. The others leave her be, because there really is a lot that she’s going through now. With Lora away for the time being, the events that lead to the confrontation at Olethro Ruins happen, Pyra realizes that this Hydros is beyond any doubt Malos, and the battle against him and Akhos goes as badly as it does in canon. One thing to note however, is that with Haze being a party member, Obrona takes her place in Indol, due to their similar powers. The spot as Akhos’ Blade could therefore be filled by a rare Blade that canonically has strong powers, because Obrona’s specific powers honestly don’t matter that much to this scene. So the initial battle against Malos and Akhos is lost, and Vandham dies, which is the point when Lora, having learned what’s going on, returns and gives everyone a second wind, just as Mythra also reawakens. Malos and Akhos are forced to retreat, and the party is safe, for now.
Aftermath
But for the aftermath, there is a lot to unpack. First off, with Mythra absolutely wrecking half the platform they were fighting on, Vandham’s body fell down into the Cloud Sea. Since Rex and Tora are absolutely devastated by his, they spend an unreasonable amount of time at the place, with Rex trying everything he can to retrieve Vandham’s body from the Cloud Sea, and Tora doing everything he can to help him. This is despite them both knowing that it’s pointless, since not only Uraya is constantly moving, but also because of currents in the Cloud Sea. They ultimately don’t even have Roc’s Core Crystal, because he fell down into the Cloud Sea with Vandham. Lora meanwhile has another painful returning memory after seeing Mythra, namely how the Tornan titan was killed and sank into the Cloud Sea. With enough of her memory having returned, Lora can finally have a proper talk with Mythra, Azurda and Minoth about the past, and what happened at the meantime, but she still does not remember Jin. The others also only fill her in on some basics, that she had a Blade other than Haze, but don’t specify - because really, how do you have the kind of situation where you tell her that the most important person in her life is now the leader of a terrorist organization, and most likely did some pretty disturbing things to you? One question that however starts to come up during all this, is how Lora is alive after all this. Pyra/Mythra accordingly has some thoughts about that, and about Nia, but only really tells Nia that if she wants to talk about anything, she’s there for her. With all this emotional bagagge adressed, the party gets ready to move on, although Rex and Tora are very reluctant about this. They do however move on nonetheless, with Rex in particular being more resolved now, because he figures that Vandham definitely wouldn’t have wanted him to be all half-hearted about helping Pyra/Mythra. As in canon, Minoth tells them that their best shot at figuring out how to get to the World Tree is to seek out Amalthus, making Indol their next target.
Everything from Goldmouth to Mor Ardain, Leftheria, Indol, Temperentia and Tantal
The party then moves on to Goldmouth to get on their way to Indol, making it the first time the place is visited. The filler story about Roc’s Core Crystal is cut for obvious reasons, and instead, there could be a bit of an interlude where Bana wishes to see the Aegis, which would also give him an opportunity to act a bit ominously when he sees Tora and Poppi, for a bit of foreshadowing for the next chapter. With this done, the party moves on to Mor Ardain.
. . .And now I gotta be honest, I don’t have much in the way of specific ideas on how to change things around for the events/story parts mentioned in the headline here, so I’ll simply make note of a few stray thoughts.
Rex is not particularly thrilled about having to go to Mor Ardain, but after seeing the situation of the titan and allying with Mòrag, he’s starting to come around on his grudge towards them.
The party does actually meat Niall face-to-face (which I think didn’t happen in canon), during which Lora regains her memories of Hugo, Aegaeon and Brighid, leading to some confusion for her.
The artificial Blades that Tatazo was forced to build for Bana are not maids. Cut that shit out.
During the encounter with Patroka and Mikhail at the end of the Old Factory, Lora does not recognize or remember Mikhail, but he very much recognizes her, which takes him extremely off-guard since Jin didn’t tell him about it.
The trip through Leftheria and Fonsett village is also the first time that Rex actually gets to visit the place that his parents came from, making the entire thing very interesting to him personally. Lora and Mythra likewise have a personal interest in the village, since it was founded by Addam, and a good deal of its population is directly descendet from him.
Meeting Amalthus leaves both Mythra and Lora extremely wary. While neither of them really know that he’s personally responsible for attacking the survivors of Torna, between him still being alive, Malos’ Driver and just generally giving off a bad vibe, they have more than enough reason to distrust him.
Zeke has a personal interest in Lora, because in Tantal there actually exist some records of her, about how she was a knight of Torna and everything. Plus, she knew Addam.
Now, the first major confrontation with Jin. . . I’ll admit, thinking of ways how this could play out with Lora there is tricky. Before I even get to this, I’m going to address Jin’s own personal goals, since him just joining up with Malos of all people to basically carry out Amalthus’ will really just comes of as a huge leap in logic to me. I would handle it so that Jin has two basic goals: First, destroying Indol and the entire world order it has created, and second, meeting and confronting the Architect about the state of the world, and the nature of Blades and titans. He’s not explicitly aware that Hydros is Malos for the longest time of them staying together (which, considering the timeline, could’ve been several centuries), but he does eventually find out during the events of the game, and grows more wary of him, while not changing his behaviour towards him. Jin’s reasoning for this is that in all the time he has known this sealed Malos, he hasn’t really noticed any of Malos’ genocidal and destructive tendencies. On Malos’ side, things are kept similar to canon in the regard that he basically views Jin as a surrogate Driver, while however still retaining his personality and ambitions. Due to his sealed form, he is more “docile”, but he still seeks to return to his previous form, which is just another reason why he wants to get his hands on Pyra/Mythra: He needs the data of her Core Crystal to reconstruct his own.
So, the confrontation with Jin. Obviously, meeting him first-hand would return a large chunk of Lora’s memories to her, potentially up to and including her death, and Jin becoming a Flesh Eater (I say potentially here because having these memories would definitely turn her against Indol right away, and while that’d be interesting, it’d be a bit difficult to account for writing-wise). Despite Lora being the entire reason behind Jin’s motivation however, he nonetheless opposes her along with the rest of the party, albeit reluctantly. As in canon, he pursues his goals knowing full well that Lora does not approve of them, with the exception here just being that, well, less idiotically genocidal. As far as the rest of the party is concerned in this encounter, Rex'd be a bit scared seeing as this is the guy that killed him, Mythra'd be even more confused as to why Jin went down this path, Nia’d more questionening just how much of his kindness towards her was real, and Zeke could very well be dropping the reveal that Jin was once the strongest Blade in all of Torna. This would only leave Tora and Mòrag with no personal connection in this fight, and. . . honestly, thinking of one for Tora to have is a bit tricky. The only thing that could still work would be if Soozoo’s disappearance could be worked into the plot more, with him being kept by the Torna organization. As for Mórag, she really doesn’t need a personal connection of any kind to Jin, and could instead point how regardless of how he was or what he did in the past, what he’s doing right now is pretty damn shitty and they had better stop him. Regardless, Jin is fought, defeated, and escapes after killing Obrona, who’s taking Haze’s place in the story, since Haze is Lora’s Blade again.
In the event that Lora regained the memories of her death, the following burial of Obrona and return trip to Indol could be used to get the full party to be more wary of Indol, and only rely on Amalthus as much as they have to. Before the party moves on to their next target in Tantal, Rex could address some personal parting words to Amalthus, about how he as Malos’ Driver should take more responsibility of his actions, which does actually get to Amalthus. . . but not exactly in the way that Rex’d hope.
Small note: The filler story bit about Bana’s return and Niall’s temporary death is cut. It’s entirely unnecessary, and direct foreshadowing of Nia’s Blade powers was already done by her resurrecting Lora. And hell, as I’m typing this out, I don’t even remember at which exact point this all took place.
All the story events in Tantal can essentially play out the same, with the exception of the climactic confrontation with the Torna organization at the end. For one thing, Jin’s anime power bullshit of being faster than light and controlling all particles is just. . . it’s absolutely stupid. I don’t have any specific ideas on how this could be changed, but it’s just better if it’s not there. Maybe all of the Torna could simply have the superior teamwork? Something like that. The other thing that’d need changing is Jin’s choice of words for breaking Rex. In canon, it was something about “Ummm do you even really pay attention to what Pyra wants??? I think not!!! Checkmate!!!”. Here, it could instead be something about any real personal ambition, only helps Pyra/Mythra out of obligation, and how Jin can tell that even now, Rex would rather be at home. Rex’ defense would of course be that this is a personal thing to him as well, since he wants to get back at Malos for killing Vandham, to which Jin asks the ever important question “And then what”. So, long story short, Pyra/Mythra is taken, Rex is broken, and Lora tries and fails once again to get Jin to explain why the hell he’s doing any of this.
Spirit Cruciple Elpys and Morytha
However, rather than snapping back to normal right away after getting a bit of talk from the other party members, Rex remains unwilling to get back into action. He does travel with the party back to Leftheria, and open up the Spirit Cruciple Elpys, but instead choses to remain behind in Fonsett. After some internal back-and-forth among the party, Nia decides to stay behind with him to still change his mind. Tora doing the same/taking Nia’s place is briefly considered, but the party figures that with the area’s Blade-hindering atmosphere, it’s best to have Tora and Poppi with them. So while the party advances deeper and deeper, cutscenes would keep cutting back to Nia and Rex, with Nia herself opening up to him and revealing her backstory to him, which in turn would lead to Rex opening up more to her as well. The rest of the party would meanwhile go through similar story beats as in canon, with Zeke talking about him being a Blade Eater, while additionally, Lora could tell the others about her time with Addam and Mythra. The battle with Addam’s phantom-things would then play out at least comparable to canon - the party gets backed into a corner, until a big twist happens, which in this case would be Rex and Nia dropping in to help them, with Nia being already in her Blade form, as a conclusion to her time spend with Rex. (Side note: I very much don’t care about any potential pairings for any of the characters, so this should not be taken as this being changed around to make room for a Rex/Nia pairing) With Pneuma’s sword then, both Rex and Lora have a little chat with this spirit-Addam, with Rex being told more or less what he was told in canon, and him wishing Lora that she finds in this time what she couldn’t 500 years ago. After all these events, party then has some obligatory talks back in Fonsett: Nia confirms to Lora that she brought her back to life, Nia apologizes that she could do nothing for Vandham (though that’s nothing that Rex or Tora blame her for), and everyone’s still not sure what to do next. Rex would be willing to just chase right after the Torna organization, but everyone else just heavily discourages him from that, considering how well last time went. This is when a message from Amalthus would reach them, stating that he has taken Rex’ words to heart, that he will personally take care of things, and that they will meet him at the Cliffs of Morytha. This does of course raise some red flags for Lora, but right now, the party simply doesn’t have any better options, and so they do just that.
Over at the Cliffs of Morytha, they then find Amalthus along with a contingent of Indolese troops, who ask them to go on ahead, with Amalthus following the party after some preparations that he still has to make. Again, with not much of a choice, the comply. The initial battle with Malos would here be cut, and instead the only real battle would be with both Jin and Malos right at the end. However, rather than being finished with reconstructing his Core Crystal before the party even gets there, Malos is still busy “downloading” while they fight. But then, when Malos is finished, and he can finally return to his actual normal form from his Hydros form, Amalthus shows up. He’s not here to fight Malos. Instead, for probably the first time, him and Malos properly synergize as Driver and Blade, and announce their plans to head to Elysium together - without Jin, the party or the Torna. An obligatory over-the-top anime battle happens, during which Mythra reawakens, and begins to start using her true power - but without becoming Pneuma just yet. In the end, the battle destroys the platform, and the party, along with Jin, falls to Morytha, while Amalthus and Malos get ready to cross over to the World Tree, which does however take some time.
Down in Morytha, rather than the overly Rex-and-Jin focussed story bit from canon, I’d instead propose a situation similar to how the party in XBC1 is split up after they fall off Galahad Fortress and down onto the Fallen Arm. As in, everyone gets their moment in the spotlight, showcasing their own character growth, current motivations, and so on. For Rex’ own part of this, he’d start out alone, find himself under attack from the mutated zombies, and then find a Core Crystal just in time to save himself - Roc’s Core Crystal. For Lora’s “episode” in this, she’d be the one to end up with Jin around the corpse of the Tornan titan, and it would lead to him finally properly talking to her, and ultimately joining her - and by proxy, the party.
Finale
Now, for events that could happen while everyone climbs to World Tree. . . I’ll admit, I don’t have much in the way of ideas. The big battle between the titans and Torna organization could still happen, but with the different scenario here, I’m not sure if it would still work. Rather than that, what could happen is that Malos uses his newly reawakened Aegis powers to send his mechs to attack the titans, causing destruction similar to what is shown in the very last cutscenes before the canonical final boss, with all the various characters the party has come across shown defending themselves. The members of the Torna organization - that is, Akhos, Patroka and Mikhail - wouldn’t even necessarily have to die while the party climbs the World Tree. Instead, they could at one point just hold off Indolese troops.
Now, for the actual big, final moments: The reveal of Elysium works as it is in canon, so there’s nothing to change here. The dream sequence where all the party members turn against Rex would still take place. But instead of Pyra and Mythra being the ones that finish things off, it would instead be an appearance by ghostly Vandham, who question Rex about his growth, ambition, goals, and whether he really stands behind everything he does. Simply put, Vandham’s last goodbye to his “sons”, since Tora would also join in on that talk after a while. The meeting with Klaus would be similar, but not quite the same: Amalthus and Malos would also be present during the big exposition, which would end with Klaus basically telling everyone that he has no right to make any more decisions for the world, and that they should decide between them who’s in the right. The final battle would then be as follows: Amalthus with his ridicilous amount of Blade Eater powers as Malos’ Driver, with Malos himself assuming a full-power form as Logos - essentially, a counterpart Pneuma. For a later phase, the battle would then be against Artifice Aion.
The various ending cutscenes could then stay mostly the same. However, Pyra and Mythra are not resurrected as two seperate entities, and are instead either just Mythra, or just Pneuma. And last, but certainly not least: While some parting words from Klaus along the lines of “Live in a world with no need for gods, titans or Blades” are heard, all currently inactive Core Crystals all awaken, and all Blades simultaneously lose their Core Crystals, making them actual living beings that don’t have any need for a Driver to live.
And. . . yeah, that’s all I got. Obviously there’s still plenty of room for improvement here, especialyl in regards to the development of characters other than Rex and Lora, or the state and politics of the world, and how the conflict between Uraya and Mor Ardain could be adressed. But more than anything, I just want to get these ideas out there first.
#xenoblade#xenoblade chronicles 2#xbc2#xenoblade 2#long post#like not actually a long post#but definitely very fucking long after the read more#. . .should I tag this as xbc2 critical? I'm really not sure#someone send me a message in case I should

The Best Films of 2018, Part I
I’ll associate my moviegoing this year with two things: subscription models and superhero films. Realizing that I was the target audience, I signed up for Moviepass in March, then canceled just before they started extorting people in July. (I’ll remember you all semi-fondly, conniving alarmists in the Moviepass Reddit thread.) Thanks to Moviepass, I took full advantage of my free time over the summer, and I found some nice surprises that I wouldn’t have checked out otherwise. From there I joined AMC A-List, which is the rare corporate service that I cannot complain about in any way. Moviepass always felt like some kind of drug deal, whereas A-List is as easy and inviting an experience as possible. I get to seek out Dolby, IMAX, or 3-D showings instead of getting locked out of them, and the electronic ticketing helps with my last-minute availability. (I’ve mastered the art of lovingly putting my daughter to bed, only to desert her and my wife five minutes later. “You know, there’s an 8:10 showing of The Predator, which means 8:30 after previews...”) My overall viewing was up 11% this year, which I have to attribute to these subscriptions. Perhaps I saw too much though. After a self-righteous five-year ban on superhero movies, I caught up in 2019 like the madman completist that I am. On the plus side, I enjoyed Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy, and I vaguely feel more connected with the culture-at-large. But I could have been more selective. The diligence required to watch X-Men: Apocalypse late on a Thursday night took away from, say, my Orson Welles project or...reading books. To get some of the business out of the way, I haven’t seen Burning, Shoplifters, Destroyer, Cold War, The Sisters Brothers, Tomb Raider, The Wife, or The House That Jack Built. Not all of us get screeners or care about seeing The Wife. Mostly for argument purposes, I list everything I saw and divide the movies into the categories of Garbage, Admirable Failures, Endearing Curiosities with Big Flaws, Pretty Good Movies, Good Movies, Great Movies, and Instant Classics. Hey, speaking of superheroes: GARBAGE
123. Venom (Ruben Fleischer)- Venom was first announced as an R-rated film until it was neutered into PG-13 at some point in the development road. That was the right choice because this is a movie, in all of its broad, careless storytelling, for children. "So he's going to get married to her but then he looks at her email and then he interviews the guy and he gets fired so then she leaves him and he drinks now?" This is a dummy's version of what a journalist is or what a scientist is, and it never shades into more subtlety than exactly what is on the expected surface. I guess that Tom Hardy gets to jump into a lobster tank if that floats your boat, but the story is stuck on fast-forward for the whole movie, never relenting to develop character or do anything other than communicate information that we don't really need.
Venom is almost--almost--interesting as a new branch in the superhero economy. Why shouldn't Tom Hardy and National Treasure Michelle Williams trade the equity they've built for caring about their work into this trash? I don't begrudge them that for a second. I hope they make more money for the sloppy sequels. 122. The Equalizer 2 (Antoine Fuqua)- The first Equalizer was flat and pointlessly long with pedantic dialogue too, but at least it had the Home Depot sequence. This one makes very basic stuff incoherent and dawdles all the way to the end. Your boy is now an expert hacker too? I guess it's too late for Fuqua to start caring about scripts.
121. Mandy (Panos Cosmatos)- I need somebody to explain to me why, dramatically, this is good without something like, "It's so metal! What a midnight movie! Chainsaw fight lol!" If you want to talk about the visuals that are stylized within an inch of reality, then I'll listen. But there's nothing to hold onto dramatically. I think I've developed an overall irritation with revenge films, but this filthy dirge of a movie felt empty and endless by any standard. 120. Fifty Shades Freed (James Foley)- Its intentions are too guileless to upset me, but Fifty Shades Freed uses up the goodwill I sort of had for the first two by tugging the viewer relentlessly through conflict that always seems temporary. Part of the fun has always been how bizarre basic human interactions seem in this universe. (Has anyone ever returned from a vacation to be surprise-promoted?) But this entry expects way too much from its viewer's loyalty. 119. On Chesil Beach (Dominic Cooke)- There's supposed to be a disconnect to the behavior of the couple in On Chesil Beach, a movie that asks us to harken back to a time when newlyweds were so sexually innocent that they had trouble figuring out how to consummate a marriage. Their fumbling seems foreign to us, which is the point. But what's the excuse for none of the behavior in the movie ringing true to any human experience?
I'm talking about Florence refusing to tell her string quartet that she's engaged because she thinks they'll assume that her marriage will break up the group even though she's sure that it won't. I'm talking about her father, who feels the need to humiliate his son-in-law in tennis because that would prove that he's dominant over the boy in some way that being his employer does not already prove. I'm talking about a plot that literally would not exist if the characters had just engaged in one conversation that it seems like they would have had in the flashbacks, which frame them as a kind of open, reasonably affectionate, easy-going couple. But by all means, McEwan, change that whenever it suits you. 118. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (J.A. Bayona)- I reject the whole premise of this deliberate lowering of stakes that never rises above obligation. To paraphrase a Griffin Newman joke, it makes Jurassic Park 4 look like Jurassic Park 1.
While we're here though: Can I have a movie about the guy who compiled the guest list for the dino auction? I want to see a guy looking at a spreadsheet--or is it an Access file?--and getting to, like, Mark Cuban and weighing the options: "He probably has the $27 million to spare on weaponized recombinant DNA. He would definitely appreciate the wow factor of having his own Indoraptor. But is he more of a neutral evil or a chaotic evil? I guess I'll reserve a seat for him and send the invitation. If he says no, then he says no. Okay, we're still in the C's..."
117. Tag (Jeff Tomsic)- Tag is going to show up on a lot of "worst movies to ever win an Oscar" lists when Jeremy Renner wins an Oscar for it. 116. A-X-L (Oliver Daly)- This is a melodramatic movie about a weaponized robotic dog and the dirtbike kid who befriends it. Nothing wrong with that; a ten-year-old boy might like it, and there aren't enough movies specifically for that audience. But what's weird is how nonchalant the main character is about the whole thing. He immediately starts training this one-of-a-kind "war dog" android and imprints it with his DNA like this is a regular Tuesday. It's one of many things that is just kind of off in this picture.
This being a cheap genre film, you do get treated to those L.A. locations that have been around the block. I think the nondescript complex that houses Craine Industries is also the one from Sneakers and The Lawnmower Man. You know, Craine Industries, the company that is working on a $70 million prototype for the military but, because this is a cheap genre film, seems to have two employees.
I do think there's an interesting movie to be made about motocross. The movie kind of works when it's just about an underdog father and son fixing bikes, before it gets into all of the robot stuff. ADMIRABLE FAILURES
115. The Little Stranger (Lenny Abrahamson)- Dr. Faraday: "Wanna marry me?" Caroline: "Maybe. Do you actually love me?" Dr. Faraday: "Probably not." Caroline: "Hmm, I think I would marry you only as an excuse to go to London to get away from my dying mother and this crumbling house that probably has a ghost." Dr. Faraday: "Oh. Well, glad we're discussing it now because I want to marry you specifically to give me a reason to stay in this crumbling house that probably has a ghost. I'm drawn to it for some reason." Caroline: "Is it because you grew up poor?" Dr. Faraday: "Yes. All dry, cold British stuff ultimately comes down to that.
114. Damsel (David Zellner and Nathan Zellner)- Had I done my research, I wouldn't have watched this Zellner Brothers follow-up to Kumiko the Treasure Hunter, one of my least favorite films of that year. Like that movie, Damsel is a story of two halves, punctuated by a shocking moment that happens halfway through. Unfortunately nothing interesting happens before, and nothing interesting happens after. 113. Suspiria (Luca Guadignino)- This is a movie about duality that gets extended. English, German, and just a sprinkle of French. Six parts and an epilogue. A dual role (and a bit part). Personalities that clash until one pulls ahead. There are ideas here. But, especially considering I don't like the original Suspiria, I didn't find much to hold onto as a visceral experience. It's a long, foreboding sit. Guadagnino knows how to end his movies, but he still doesn't have much to say for the long middle parts. Shout-out to Amazon; I hope that, in some circuitous way, betting on maximalist Italians helps them to sell paper towels or whatever.
112. Early Man (Nick Park)- I still love the Aardman aesthetic, but this material was thin. It's too juvenile for adults and too adult for juveniles. 111. Beirut (Brad Anderson)- The screenplay takes an hour to set up what should have taken twenty minutes. Some of that time is dedicated to developing Hamm's burnt-out alcoholic wheeler-dealer, but he's a character we've seen a hundred times before anyway. Some shorthand would have done some good. Once the plot gets going, it's serviceable, but I was bored by that point. Pike and Hamm need to fire their managers. 110. Upgrade (Leigh Whannell)- I'll admit that I owed the film more attention than I gave it since I was nodding off the whole time, but nothing in the gloomy programmer interested me enough to want to go back.
109. Red Sparrow (Francis Lawrence)- Good as a steamy blank check provocation from the director and star--not much else. I'm sure people will take down the easy target of Jen Larry's Russian accent, but they're ignoring just how much she tries in something like this. She is a gargantuan Movie Star who commands the screen, and a lot of that presence comes from the commitment of, say, learning how to ballet dance for what must have been months. She hasn't slept through a performance yet.
I didn't think this endless movie made much sense, especially near its conclusion. Perhaps it's my personal distaste for the way that spy movies introduce major plot points without so much as a music sting to guide you. As soon as anyone says the term "double agent," my brain turns off.
108. Hot Summer Nights (Elijah Bynum)- If you want to direct a music video, just direct a music video. I like all of the actors in this, but the filmmaker has nothing to say. 107. The First Purge (Gerard McMurray)- Even James DeMonaco seems to be admitting that the bloom is off the rose a bit, since he only wrote this entry in the franchise--and his direction is missed in the action scenes. Just enough of the political subtext remains, (The New Founding Fathers get funding from the NRA, and a character uses "pussy-grabbing" as an insult. Thankfully, a Black church getting shot up by men with Iron Cross flags happens off-screen.)
But there are more characters I didn't care about than characters I did care about. Since its prequel setting doesn't reveal much about the world that we didn't already know, the film needed to do a bit more with the survive-the-night scenario that we already saw in the second film.
106. Vox Lux (Brady Corbet)- A movie that, up to and including the last minute, keeps promising something better than it actually is. Everyone here is making...choices… 105. Madeline’s Madeline (Josephine Decker)- I'm glad David Ehrlich liked this as much as he did. There are some intriguing ideas, most notably the suggestion that a mentally unstable person would be better suited for acting than a healthy person. What a debut for Helena Howard as well. But for it to add up to something by the end, I think I needed it to have more dramatic structure--the sort of fall of the Molly Parker character feels invented and insincere--or go all the way into experiment. 104. Shirkers (Sandi Tan)- One of those "you won't believe what happens next" documentaries that positions itself as an example of truth being stranger than fiction. But removed from a festival context, does it ever rise above its logline? Is it really even that odd?

The Snow (7)
Pairing: Loki x child! reader
Warning: language
Summary: Thor finally arrives in Sakaar. And (y/n) talks to Loki about her family and Harry Potter
1| 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7
(y/n) absolutely loved this party. There so many weird and strange people some had faced others didn’t they were all different colors with strange names from even strange places. (y/n) wondered how the grandmaster got such fascinating people to come to his party and had such abnormal friends. She wanted some too.
(y/n) was busy listening to Loki’s stories as he told them to others. She sat next to him with a strange green drink it tasted really good. Loki was in the middle of his story and (y/n) her drink when he excused them and dragged her away.
“Shh, shh!” Loki said as he approached Thor who was strapped in a strange chair.
“What? you’re alive?”
“yes, of course, I’m alive,” Thor said,
“what are you doing here?” Loki looked around awkwardly
“what do you mean, what am I doing? I’m stuck in this stupid chair. Where’s your chair?”
“we didn’t get chair” (y/n) answered sipping her drink
“get me out of this one”
“I can’t. I’ve made friends with this man. He’s called the Grandmaster.”
“Oh, he’s crazy”
“he is but fun” (y/n) agreed.
“We’ve gained his favor ... The bi-frost brought us out here weeks ago”
“weeks ago! I just got here..”.
“What are you whispering about?” They all looked up to find The Grandmaster DJing.
“Hi” (y/n) waved.
“Time works real different around these parks. On any other world I’d be like millions of years old but here on Sakaar...” He looked around squinting
“you are a wise... young man?”
“I like you kid. In any case, you know this um this um you call yourself Lord of Thunder”
“God of Thunder. Tell him” Thor defended his name and get Loki to help.
“I’ve never meet this man in my life” Loki waved him off
“He’s my brother” Thor shouted
“adopted”
“still brothers “ (y/n) said quietly , it was none of her business.
“Is he any kind of fighter?”
“Take this thing out of my neck and I’ll show you”
“oh look he’s threatening me. He sparkles you got a deal if you want get back to Ass place Assburg-”
“ASGARD”
“Any contender who defeats my champion their freedom they shall wi,n” Grandmaster said waving his hands around
“Fine, point me in the direction of whoever's ass I have to kick” Thor said.
(y/n) slipped behind Loki as she felt the anger radiate off Thor.
“That’s my contender. Direction would be this way my Lord” Grandmaster said then waved a wand moving Thor’s special chair.
“LOKI, LOKI, LOKI”.
After Thor was dragged away to the cells Loki and (y/n) returned to their room. Loki paced for a bit while (y/n) just watched she got tired of watching Loki and went to the bathroom to play with the water. (y/n) was making ting water fairies when she heard Loki talking to someone. Draining the water she went to the room to see Loki sitting on the bed eyes closed talking to ... himself? (y/n) sat on the bed next to Loki and listened to him talk.
“I mean you didn’t really think I’d come to see you this place it’s disgusting” It seemed like a one-sided conversation ... with the wall “so you don’t want my help. I could jeopardies my position with the grandmaster it took me time to win his trust. He’s a lunatic but he can be meaningful. What I’m telling you is you could join me at Grandmaster’s side and in time an accident be falls the Grandmaster and ...” he started moving his hands and made two thumbs up.
“You can’t kill the Grandmaster he’s funny and weird and-woah!” (y/n) touched Loki’s arm and found herself in a dirty cell across from Thor she let go of his arm and was back in their room. She touched him and was in the cell. No touch room, touch cell, no touch room, touch cell.
Thor and Loki watched as she disappeared and reappeared. Loki rolled his eyes “ignore here” and continued to talk with Thor. (y/n) was fascinated with the illusion and his magic that she didn’t even pay attention to the conversation missed the whole thing.
“aw” (y/n) said when she touched Loki again but didn’t go anywhere. She looked up to a very unhappy Loki.
“what’s wrong?”
“Thor is an idio,t” he said head down “ He’s a boy” Loki chuckled at (y/n), “a sad boy at that”.
(y/n) hugged Loki “ The both of you are different. Thor is strength and bravery. You’re intelligences and magic. Thor is Gryffindor. You are Ravenclaw”
“What?” (y/n) rolled her eyes.
“Thor is brave, courage, daring, and standing up for the stuff he likes but he is also reckless and short-tempers. You’re intelligent, have wisdom and wit, creativity, originality, individuality, and you do a lot of things no body likes but you like you aren’t easily accepted. Thor is brave and Loki is smart . Put that together and you’re unstoppable. You’ll save the universe.”
Loki hugged her back and laughed “where do you get this ideas from”. (y/n)’s smile flattered but did not fade
“My big brother read Harry Potter to me and he’d tell me all about the houses”
“you didn’t tell me you had a brother”.
It was true they had been here for weeks. Loki knew about Bucky, the running, and the fight with Avengers not once had her brother or original family came up.
“He died... Dad killed him. He’s gone now”
“oh darling I’m so sorry I’m so sorry” Such a tragic story for a child. Loki held her close and kissed her forehead but she didn’t cry she just held on tighter. It made Loki rethink his relationship with Thor and the child. His relationship with Thor could get better then again he liked how it was they’re cool they fought. Loki ‘dies’ Loki lives they make then they fought again.
It was an odd but nice relationship or at least Loki thought it was Thor... not so much. It could have been better far them. It could have been like it was when they were children. But that was a lie. This new real relationship was nice for Loki. And an Emotional roll coaster for Thor.
His relationship with (y/n) was brand new. His father asked him to take care of her and for some reason she felt like he had to. Odin’s last dying wish it was strange that Loki was taking care of her and not Thor he’s usually the one to follow and listen to their father. But here Loki was taking care of a little girl he barely knew.
Loki was so deep in thoughts he didn’t notice (y/n) fall asleep in his arms until she started slipping but he caught her before she could fall to the floor . Loki laid back with her on his chest and continued to think.
What did his father see in this child?

HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH (1982)
When a man (Al Berry) clutching a Halloween mask is admitted to Dr. Challis (Tom Atkins)'s hospital, the man is soon killed by a mysterious stranger, who also kills himself shortly after. Meeting up with the victim's daughter Ellie (Stacey Nelkin), Challis decides to look into her father's death and find those responsible. Their search takes them to the headquarters of Silver Shamrock, a company currently selling a line of extremely popular Halloween masks. Challis and Ellie encounter a few other people, toy store owners who sell the masks in their stores, who have come to discuss their next shipments with Shamrock's president - Conal Cochran (Dan O'Herlihy). Ellie is soon kidnapped by Cochran's followers, which turn out to be robots. Capturing Challis as well, Cochran explains that he is a follower of the ancient ways of witchcraft and Halloween's original, darker origins, and is using ancient magicks to pull the ultimate prank - Sacrificing the children who have bought his masks, a sacrifice he demonstrates on the Kupfer family. Escaping his imprisonment, Challis rescues Ellie and the two use Cochran's own technology against him, killing him and burning Silver Shamrock to the ground. Unfortunately, the masks are still being worn by thousands of children and the commercial that activates their magic begins to play...
Halloween III: Season of the Witch is known by a lot of people as that Halloween movie. The unrelated one, the separate one, the one that has nothing to do with the saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode. Supposedly, the plan was to use Halloween III as a starting point to make the Halloween films a series of unrelated, anthology stories centered around the holiday. Unfortunately, with the original Halloween being an enormous hit and Halloween II only cementing the fact that the series was centered around the white-masked killer, Halloween III was doomed to failure no matter how good the film may or may not have been on its own. And how does it stand as its own film, a story of a believer in ancient magic using Halloween masks to slaughter children? Honestly, it has potential, but it's not perfect. It has a good premise and some genuinely creepy moments, but a lot of scenes are dedicated to Challis and Ellie simply sitting around and talking about how weird everything is. There are times where it almost doesn't even feel like a horror movie and comes across as more of a mystery/thriller type film.
The movie's most chilling sequence is easily when Cochran kills the Kupfer family, with Buddy Jr.'s mask apparently eating his head and releasing a torrent of snakes and insects to kill his parents. Unfortunately, while there are a few other gruesome kills throughout the movie (in fact, all the deaths in this film are surprisingly brutal, even for a horror movie), most of them don't really have the same unsettling supernatural feel as the Kupfer family's death, leaving the film without a lot of stand out horror sequences. Then there is the fact that Cochran's business suit minions are robots and his entire operation is so technology-heavy, with the masks even utilizing computer chips to activate their powers. Considering his plan is about dark magic and witchcraft and the ancient mystic power of Stonehenge, such a heavy emphasis on technology seems odd and out of place. Sure, a robot army can be creepy and all (the concept works perfectly in The Stepford Wives, among others), but why couldn't the henchmen simply be loyal followers of Cochran, or perhaps brainwashed by his power? Why do the masks need computer chips? Scrapings from Stonehenge (which has dark, supernatural properties) are already mixed into the latex, so why can't their death-dealing abilities simply be innate powers of the masks themselves? This doesn't ruin the film by any means, but it does succeed in making Cochran's scheme far more complicated than it needs to be.
Tom Atkins plays the heroic if not slightly sleazy Dr. Challis. A divorced man, he tries to be a good father for his kids but does not succeed, cancelling on them at the drop of a hat anytime something comes up. Though perhaps that isn't fair, as the film doesn't really give us a chance to become familiar with Challis and his family before we get thrust into the main plot. It's almost funny that he gets involved in Ellie's search for the truth so quickly and so heartily considering the police are still investigating her father's death and at the time he has no real reason to believe they won't solve it. Then, of course, there's his penchant for sleeping with a girl so young looking he actually has to ask her how old she is... After he's already had sex with her. This may have been an attempt by the movie to lampshade the age gap between Atkins and Stacey Nelkin, but it's not placed very well and either way it makes the hero a little more 'ew' than was no doubt intended. The aforementioned Nelkin plays Ellie - a pretty young woman looking for her father's killer - well enough, but sadly Ellie's fairly bland as a heroine. Being sad over her father's death is all we really get from her and she disappears for a good chunk of the movie once the final act begins. Once she's seemingly reunited with Challis, the twist that she's actually a robot is a good one, but it raises so many questions - Was she outright replaced by a robot duplicate? Was she turned into a robot? Was she a robot from the beginning (which could arguably be hinted at with "Aren't you just the least bit tired?" "No.")? If she was one of Cochran's robots, why did she help destroy Silver Shamrock, and why didn't she shut down once the control panel was destroyed like all the others? Such a huge twist might've worked better had it happened earlier in the film and was a little more clear as to exactly what the twist was. Irish actor Dan O'Herlihy brings us Conal Cochran, a good and very different villain from Michael Myers. Quiet and intense, he clearly finds joy in the idea of slaughtering untold numbers of innocent children. The scene where he monologues to Challis about the ancient ways of Halloween is captivating and one of the more memorable scenes. His death is a satisfying one, but the close up of his face turning into what looks like aluminum foil probably should've been cut and kept as simple as dying from the laser.
Thankfully, time has been kind to Halloween III. While it was panned upon initial release due to its lack of Michael Myers and overall connection to the first two films (aside from occasionally showing the original Halloween playing on TV...), people have since come to enjoy the film on its own merits. While not the most amazing horror movie, it does deserve this newfound love. The scares, while not plentiful, are effective; the special effects are done well and quite unsettling, and the Silver Shamrock commercial jingle is a tune that will never leave your head after you hear it. While Michael Myers has come back plenty of times, Conal Cochran and his malicious masks have yet to enjoy a revival of their own.

//Slams hands on table// 28 of the uncommon character questions for all of your Dragon Age characters!
28) Are they afraid of death? Do they have any regrets?
(first off sorry this is a late reply it is also late while I’m doing this lol so apologies if I forget any of them)
Dino Trevelyan: It’s not that Dino is scared of dyings its more of… he’s scared of the pain that comes with death. He’s been through a lot already, he’s used to the pain physically but its the pain of having to leave everyone he loves behind. He doesn’t want to go through that. He doesn’t want to make people go through the pain of losing him. Oh he has lots of regrets, his biggest being that of bringing his younger brother with him to the conclave. It was supposed to be Cam’s first political mission/outing and it went so wrong. Dino would have given anything to be the one dead and his brother alive.
Evander Virani: Oh yes he is terrified of death. He hates pain. He can take it and hide how much pain he’s actually in. He doesn’t want to die. He doesn’t want his life to be over. he doesn’t want to fade to memories or just be forgotten, maker forbid he gets remembered as a monster. He also has too many regrets to count. He regrets coming to ferelden sometimes. He regrets getting Romulus involved in all of this. He regrets being born because in his mind he feels like he was the reason his brother went through so much hardship and the reason Romulus died.
Kyra Lavellan: She didn’t used to fear death, but that was before all of this. Now she’s worked so hard, she’s fallen in love. She is scared of death. She finally has a family all of her own. She doesn’t want to lose her love, doesn’t want to lose that chance to start a family. She can’t just abandon them all now she’s come too far for death to claim her, and anytime she gets severely injured she gets scared. She does have a few regrets, the biggest being not able to save her clan.
Amilius Trevelyan: Not really actually. He studied the fade while he was in the Circle of Ostwick. He knows that when he dies his spirit will pass through there if not rest there. Its a part of life and when his time comes he won’t fight it. Amilius doesn’t have a lot of regrets really. I guess his biggest one would be not reconnecting with his parents? As a mage he was the black sheep of the trevelyan family. All of his older siblings were templars and then he had to go and be a mage. That already distanced him from his parents, but then he came out to them (not willingly he was caught with a templar) and from that day his parents pretty much avoided him in total.
Aspen Lavellan: No. He does not fear death, but he also won’t accept it. Aspen will fight until his very last breath against it. He knows it is inevitable but that doesn’t mean he has to accept it. He’s a fighter. He won’t back down until he physically can’t fight anymore. He has regrets. He regrets not saving his clan, he regrets not being there to fight with them. He regrets being caught by slavers.
Christoph Hawke: He does not fear it. In fact he longs it, especially by the end of act 3. He’s lost pretty much everyone, his father, his mother, his sister, even Carver is with the Grey Wardens. Kirkwall is in shambles because of him. The only reason he keeps fighting is because he has people that keep him going, because Anders is with him every step of the way. He has too many regrets to list (this boy has so many problems) He regrets not being able to save Bethany. He regrets not being able to save his mother. He regrets bringing Carver to the deep roads because he got the blight there. He blames himself for everything that goes wrong in the world and it weighs so heavily on him. He won’t talk about it, not willingly, but by the end of act 3 its clear to see that even with his masking humor and jokes he’s suffering.
Karis Mahariel: For Karis Death is an inevitability. She is a little scared but she will face it head on when her time comes. She does have regrets. She regrets not saving Tamlen. She regrets ever going into that cave, but at the same tiem she doesn’t because it allowed her to meet Alistair.
Daylen Amell: oh he’s mortified of death. He’d never admit it what with it just being an inevitability of being a warden. He doesn’t want to die. He always wanted to grow old and be one of the senior enchanters that got to be grumpy and tell stories, but now it seems that he’s barely going to live past his forties (well if he’s not successful in finding a way to remove the taint). He has regrets like not being able to save lothering, talking to Irving about Jowan’s plan. But regrets are a part of life are they not?
