"I had choice paralysis :(" is a KILLER line.
He's such a comedic powerhouse, I'm glad more people are getting exposed to him :'D
#smosh#smosh pit#tntl#shayne topp#zac oyama#tommy bowe#try not to laugh#dropout#smosh tntl 149 for anyone looking for the full video! since this took off :)#okay this broke containment noticeably so some additional context for anyone wondering#guy in trench is zac oyama. extremely funny comedian. he's on a streaming service called dropout. I advise looking up 'Make Some Noise' on#yt and watching the full episodes/compilations available for free there#He is in a youtube video with Smosh cast in an improv format they do called 'Try Not To Laugh'. Smosh cast folks are also very funny- a good#proportion of them at this point are also prifessional comedians. There are other Try Not To Laugh videos. a LOT of them. they can be#hit or miss but a lot of them are quite good (blind pairs or the musical episodes are all pretty good)#Smosh has multiple channels- this one is called Smosh Pit ajd also has other stuff they do. Challenge Pit is also quite funny. there is also#smosh games channel. smosh cast channel. and the main smosh channel#tbh i recommend looking up compilations of cast members to figure out what content you might find compelling but they make a pretty broad#spread of stuff at this point so odds are decent youll find something funny. esp if you already watch dropout :)#ok infodump over. glad ppl are having fun with this lol

looking at (vetted) gofundmes for people trying to escape palestine and i don't know how many of you actually click on the gofundme links you reblog but i would like to point out, for what it's worth, just how amazing it is that so many have raised so much money. it may overall feel like a drop in the ocean but the fact that several gofundmes have raised tens of thousands of dollars is amazing. it is so expensive to leave gaza right now, and people still need money after they escape. but regardless of what propaganda the US, UK, canada, and other western nations are trying to pump out, people across the world are doing what they can to help these people survive. many of them are still very far from their goals (like this one and this one and this one) and some of them are very close to high goals (like this one), and some of them have reached almost double their original goal.
and that's not even addressing direct aid or organizations that take continuous donations for distribution of food, menstrual products, etc. the PCRF has raised $16,000,000 of their target goal of $20,000,000 to fund current aid and long-term relief efforts in gaza. ANERA's febuary 13th update discusses the material ways they helped palestinians today:
(ANERA donate link)
my point is, it often feels like the world is turning a blind eye to palestine. but i would like to point out that there is an important difference between "the world" and "western political leaders and media narratives". a breathtaking amount of real people, the people who make up the world, are trying to help. in the face of israel attempting to commit genocide, the world is saying No. These people deserve to live. and literally sending millions of dollars internationally, through the internet connection that israel has desperately been trying to destroy.
it may not feel like it matters in the grand scheme of things. but to the people who get fresh clothes, or a hot meal, or blankets, or the kids who get new toys, or to the people who are able to bring their families to safety, it matters to them. go make someone's day better. i've linked so many options with ways to do that.
#free palestine#cricket chirps#palestine#gaza#if you feel overwhelmed and don't know where to begin#i recommend deciding on a total amount of money to donate (e.g. $20 $100 etc)#and deciding you will either donate it all in one place or split it between a few places#do what you can!!! it will always be helpful no matter how little#1k#5k#10k#20k

CONTEXT ALERT!
Welcome to my little corner of the internet. Thanks for coming, grab a tea and get comfy.
This blog is going to be dedicated to the various forms of content that have had a hand in keeping me (reasonably) sane and alive over the past 35 years.
A couple of years ago I suffered from severe burnout that affected my mental health significantly and helped contribute to being diagnosed with PTSD after a workplace assault. Phew, and that's just the cole's notes of the journey.
I have always found myself in words, so its fitting that I dedicate some words to the specific saviours in return.
I'll be talking about moments from movies, books, songs, little things that made me stop over the years and say, "yes that, more of that."
I feel it's important to disclose that while I firmly believe that Taylor Swift's music has been eerily timely ever since I first downloaded Teardrops on my Guitar VERY LEGALLY DEFINITELY NOT ON LIMEWIRE DON'T FACT CHECK THIS. Point being, I will endeavour to at least SPACE OUT the Taylor appreciation.
I'll update this later with relevant tags as I feel out how and what I want to write about. I was originally going to make this all about music, make playlists, yaddah yaddah. But there's also too many moments from the content I've been fed over the years that I didn't want to get into too much of a niche.
Because I'm also late-diagnosed ADHD and Bipolar girl. And the road to those diagnoses were not smooth let me tell you.
But this isn't a BLOG just about mental health. Or maybe it will be. Again, feeling it out. I know from my personal branding class that it's important to know yourself and define your niche.
HOWEVER, my fun little blog (and possible YouTube channel if I feel so inclined to read passages or share clips and talk about them...we'll see) may be a rambly mess because, well hey, that's kind of my brand.
Organized chaos, overly enthusiastic, Gilmore-level talking speeds, that's me. And sharing what I'm passionate about has always made me a happy girl.
And since I can't talk customers ears off at the video store anymore (and it's been 13 years since I could. blech) here I am. Talking to the void about any number of fandoms.
(Insert gif of Jeff Blim saying "Get Excited Everyone" from The Trail to Oregon (YouTube/Team StarKid))
I am also gif girl. I'm going to try and make gifs I can't find if I can find clips for them. Because practising simple internet skills at my age is important. Or so I assume.
Anyway, inaugural ramble over and out. Looking forward to sharing the things I get excited about. <3

i'm begging you guys to start pirating shit from streaming platforms. there are so many websites where you can stream that shit for free, here's a quick HOW TO:
1) Search for: watch TITLE OF WORK free online
2) Scroll to the bottom of results. Click any of the "Complaint" links
3) You will be taken to a long list of links that were removed for copyright infringement. Use the 'find' function to search for the name of the show/movie you were originally searching for. You will get something like this (specifics removed because if you love an illegal streaming site you don't post its url on social media)
4) each of these links is to a website where you can stream shit for free. go to the individual websites and search for your show/movie. you might have to copy-paste a few before you find exactly what you're looking, but the whole process only takes a minute. the speed/quality is usually the same as on netflix/whatever, and they even have subtitles! (make sure to use an adblocker though, these sites are funded by annoying popups)
In conclusion, if you do this often enough you will start recognizing the most dependable websites, and you can just bookmark those instead. (note: this is completely separate from torrenting, which is also a beautiful thing but requires different software and a vpn)
you can also download the media in question (look for a "download" button built into the video window, or use a browser extension such as Video DownloadHelper.)
#for adblocking--ublock origin is my favorite but adblocker plus is also popular#also i once again highly recommend using firefox especially on mobile#to enable adblock on firefox mobile just click 3 dot menu > addons > addon manager > enable uBlockOrigin#that's for android i assume it's similar for iOS#update it is NOT similar for iOS bc Apple hates you. i'll write another post later#anyway. PLEASE USE AN ADBLOCK ALL THE TIME (except for specific websites you want to support)#your internet browsing experience will be so enormously improved#also on firefox if you want to get past a paywall click the 'Toggle reader view' button as soon as the page loads#(it's on the right of the taskbar. a little rectangle with horizontal lines)#works for most news sites by showing you the webpage text that is hidden under the 'you've run out of free articles' popup#doesn't work for everything but it's worth a shot

ID: tweets from @boulevarddouble:
okay SO. Just FYI i have an insider contact and i asked him about this new google drive nsfw scare.
backing up is never a bad idea.
99% of people will be unaffected, and this is NOT a crackdown on having nsfw content on gdrive
"What I think has happened is that drive has made several updates to its spam/abuse filtering and one of the focuses is trying to catch spammers who share explicit things in docs with random emails. Which is good in theory, but has the potential to hit false positives."
his recommendation is to keep NSFW words out of your doc titles and instead of sharing the "open link", share directly with you beta's email addresses.
It is also more likely to flag up explicit images, though that is less likely to be a fic problem.
/end ID
#things jess says#google docs#google drive#update on the panic and hysteria of the last two days#as always#regular back ups are to be recommended but it doesn't appear to me that we need to panic at all

friendly reminder that you can still get covid in 2024, we're in the middle of a massive wave right now and covid is NOT "just a cold". take necessary precautions in crowded places, on buses, on train, or on planes. it's better enduring a few strange looks when wearing a mask than getting ill and/or (god forbid) lifelong complications from long covid!
oh also, if you've got symptoms–yes it's a pain to have to buy a test–but PLEASE test. we're still in the middle of a pandemic however much we all want to forget that fact and we can still do our bit to protect others!
#speaking from someone who's currently on her covid sickbed from the eras tour#it's not fun out here! i haven't slept for coughing i've been running a low grade fever for days and my hair follicles hurt!#covid isn't over#covid#covid 19#fi's covid content#i've also had long covid before and i really hope this doesn't bring it back and there's no way of knowing so all around#wouldn't recommend the experience

I'm glad to see posts circulating listing some of the significant legislation Tim Walz has supported as governor of Minnesota, but there's one I haven't seen mentioned yet that I think is really important for young voters to know about--the North Star Promise program, aka the reason I can afford to finish my Bachelor's degree.
Some of you may remember me posting about my financial aid offer being a lot more generous this year. That because Minnesota just implemented a scholarship program that makes undergraduate college tuition free for students with family incomes of less than $80,000 attending state or tribal colleges. As in, if after other grants and scholarships have been applied, you still owe money for tuition, the state of Minnesota will pay the rest.
Obviously tuition isn't the only expense associated with being a college student--I still am taking out student loans to help cover things like rent and other cost of living expenses--but it is the biggest one. As a low-income, non-traditional student paying my own way through college (and with a disabled partner who cannot work), I was genuinely unsure if I was going to be able to finish my degree before the North Star Promise program was implemented, and it has freed me from so much stress and worry.
A lot of factors had to combine to make a program like this possible --activists had to push for it, Minnesota had to vote in a Democratic majority in the state legislature to pass it, and we had to have a governor willing to sign the program into law--but it is still significant it was something Walz was willing to put his name on. And I cannot fathom how many lives it would change if he was willing to push for something similar to this at the federal level. So, keeping in mind that we have to vote up and down the ballot as well as keep the pressure on our elected officials to support programs like this once folks are in office, let's make it happen.
#highly recommend people look into all the good things minnesota has done in the past legislative session honestly#but this is one in particular that has actively changed my life for the better so i figured it was worth saying a bit about
