thinking about shun and ruri. breaks down and falls to my knees
#arcv really sucks like it's so bad yet my love for the characters is unparalleled#and the worst thing is that it's fun to watch. i could watch parts of it singularly and be entertained then remember the whole picture#and punch the wall in frustration. it could have been so much more#don't get me started on rin. or ruri. or yuzu and serena. honestly every female character#masumi was great she should have been in the lancers but of course she has to forget everything about shun etc etc#first of all she would have saved yuzu with no hesitation. second as much as her enemy was first shun shed probably be against academia too#and like. hokuto was carded by serena so she would've had an ulterior motive after serena joined the lancers#it would have been fun to see her interact with shun and serena considering their place and how they were a part of her small arc#also of lds trio she's the only one that would be relevant enough (connection to yuzu) and able to join the lancers (yaiba was injured#hokuto got carded) sawatari got a second chance but i guess masumi wasn't relevant enough for that..#3/4 of the bracelet girls are in a damsel in distress situations and i really hate it. did rin do anything at all except dueling yugo!!!#the fourth is serena but then she got brainwashed. then what's the fucking point she could've had much more to her. she was going well#ruri too.. didn't do much. she like rin is just a plot device for shun and yuto#which i love a lot. shun may be even a favorite of mine. i love and cherish the xyz trio but god ruri..#and amidst all the fatal flaws about ruri and yuto's roles in the story. god shun had it so bad#all that to not even get to see your sister properly and lose your best friend in the process. and for the other counterparts too#everyone had their own separate lives and personalities just to end up.. fused. i think everyone in arcv deserved better#except akaba leo#i won't talk about the mess that was the pacing because i yapped enough. back to my vrains rewatch#(im trying to suppress the frustration i feel about arcv by watching another yugioh)

pair of pests: missing you ˏˋ°•*⁀ steph catley x catley!reader, short fic/blurb
Tumblr media
steph catley x catley!reader | 1.1k | based off of this ask
ˏˋ°•*⁀ just a little warning that it involves like themes of grief/grieving and the mentions of a loss of a loved one
You were in your mid teens when your dad passed away. It was hard on you, it was hard on your whole family. But you all stuck together and gave each other the support you all needed. Specifically your older sister had been there for you, fulfilling her older sister duties. You gave what you could give back to Steph, though the age difference meant that she could support you more than you could give to her.
Eventually everyone had to go back on with their own lives. Part of you felt stuck, since your sister wasn’t around all that much focusing on her career and playing overseas a few years, you’d grown quite close with your dad. You’d had a close bond, he had been supporting your youth career in football since Steph had less time to spend with you and less time to support you, though you know she was doing her best and you’d never fault Steph.
You tried to move on, continue with school and youth football, but everything had been associated quite heavily with your dad. The drive to training wasn’t the same, your mum tried but you couldn’t stop thinking about the endless car karaoke you’d have with your dad on the way. Whenever you’d get stuck with your homework you’d forget and go to find your dad before you’d have the sudden realisation that you couldn’t do that anymore. You’d never forget the late nights where your dad wouldn’t stop til he was able to help you with anything you couldn’t understand.
Steph did her best to help you through it, but it was hard when you stopped opening up to her until the night before her surgery when you broke down scared that something would happen and you’d lose her as well. Every year since, you always had a hard time around the anniversary of his passing. Even if you didn’t realise the date was coming up, your body knew and would send you into a spiral. Your stomach constantly felt heavy and nauseous all the time. Your mood always dropped, even if you didn’t notice it, but you’d go quiet and barely interact with anyone other than Steph or your mum.
This year was no different. In fact it was a lot harder. You had properly started playing football with your older sister at the same club. It was a dream that you’d always talked to your dad about, it had turned into both yours and your dads dream to see it happen one day. Though back then you didn’t know that it would ever happen and you didn’t know that if it did, he wouldn’t even get to see it.
Steph, being focused with the upcoming olympics and thoughts of captaining her country through it, she’d been distracted and not noticed that time of year was fast approaching. She only realised when she noticed you’d always seek Steph out, especially during training, glued to her side. Any other time you’d be out annoying Mini alongside Kyra and Charli.
You’d been a part of the world cup squad the year before, so the team were quite aware of how you react this time of year. They all kept a bit of space around you, not pushing you to interact as much, but they did little things to try to cheer you up and make it easier for you. The teammates you were close with at club level would send you little messages throughout the days. You appreciated the efforts your national and club teammates would go to for you.
Steph was really the only person who could make you feel better. She was your sister and in a way it felt like she was the closest connection you still had to your dad, ‘You doing okay?’ Your sister asked while she pulled you into her room and into her arms. You couldn’t sleep and had found your way to the room your sister was staying in.
You didn’t actually reply, knowing that if you spoke the walls you had up would break down and you’d crumble. Not something you really wanted to happen. Part of you felt silly for still feeling and reacting this way. It’d been years now and you felt that you should’ve found a way to cope that wasn’t disconnecting from everyone around you. Truth was you lost your dad young and had to grow up a bit faster than you should’ve and no one would blame you for how you’re reacting. No one but yourself.
Instead of talking, you tightly wrapped your arms around Steph, hiding your face in her neck. Steph could feel how tense you were and your silence spoke louder than any words could’ve. Your older sister understood you and you couldn’t be more thankful, ‘Can we watch a movie? One of his favourites?’
Steph knew the right movie to put on that would bring you some sense of comfort. Slipping into her bed, pulling you so you were lying cuddled against her side. Your head met Steph’s shoulder and her hand gently rubbed the top of your arm. It was peaceful, it was comforting. If you pretended hard enough you were a kid again watching movies in your childhood home on a little mini couch that you and your older sister shared while you’d fight with your older brother claiming he was stealing all your popcorn, with your parents on the main couch watching on with amused expressions. Time was cruel.
‘He’d be proud of you, of both of us. You know that right? Especially you. The amount of times he’d end up talking about you whenever we’d call,’ Steph smiled softly, breaking the silence half-way through the movie. She knows what you’re like and doesn’t want you to get too lost in your own thoughts, the older sister nature to protect you and help you deal with things in a more healthy way.
‘When I was little, when you’d first moved overseas to play,’ Your voice was quiet and soft, but loud enough that Steph could hear you. You’d turned a little so you were looking at your sister, ‘I’d always tell dad that my dream was to play in a big club with you. One that wasn’t in Australia. Every night I’d make him wish on the stars for it to happen,’ You smiled softly remembering all the times you’d drag your dad to the window, right before bedtime, looking up at the stars and wishing for your one biggest dream to come true, ‘I think he made sure it happened,’ Tears welled in both your eyes at the thought. You’d always say it was written in the stars that you were playing with Steph at Arsenal now. But now Steph understood the deeper meaning to your words.

hey! i hope your doing well, i would love to see anything fluffy for mike (headcanons, blurbs, whatever you feel like suits it most!) - he deserves the whole world and sm more to me 😭
A/N: I get youuuu, hope you enjoy 😁 started off with the relationship hcs but let me know if you wanna see anything more specific!!
Warnings: FNAF movie spoilers, mentions of violence
⋆✮ Dating Mike Schmidt Includes: ✮⋆
Tumblr media
➳ Mike's been through a hell of a lot ever since his little brother got kidnapped, so I'm seeing major protectiveness and sometimes even clinginess involved from him when you end up dating because 😭 guy's been through stuff and he's not letting anyone else he's close to get hurt
➳ To be honest, at first he's pretty closed-off with people, vulnerable with a tough exterior, so if you meet him in some scenario where you're tied up with the Freddy's murders and job, he'll try to be distant and professional and all... ending up failing 🙃
➳ Eventually you start. talking more about personal things, hobbies your lives, and he'll mention his sister Abby and having to take the job because he needs the money and is in the middle of the custody situation with his sister. He's got a lot going on and the trauma of what happened all those years ago still wringing at his guilt, so being able to talk with someone who doesn't judge in a relaxed place is a nice change for him having to be on guard all the time.
➳ When Mike befriends you, which is what happens first, he's got your back. If you need someone to vent to or hang out with or whatever, he'll do whatever he can to help, and when it comes to you being in a sticky situation or someone trying to hurt you or play you, he always seems to realise and is in no way afraid of confrontation to get them to back off.
➳ Like if William tries sizing you up a bit... and Mike gets annoyed with that cool, defensive glare as he asks if he needs anything (I've got to make an imagine of this nowwww). I think Mike would only realise that he's actually jealous if you teased about it, or if he really loses his temper with someone that's not leaving you alone or something. Then it really nags at him and makes him think about actually liking you as more than a friend, and then that initial reluctance because everyone he gets close to seems to have something bad happen to them, like it's a curse. At the end of the day, he just wants you to be safe.
➳ It would take something big for Mike to confess to you, unless you take the first step (aka Abby begging you to tell him you like him too because she's getting bored of him not concentrating on what she's talking to him about or the conversation somehow curving to you and the stuff you're into). Maybe you're attacked at Freddy's and you're all in on the crisis together when Mike stands firmly in front of you when William reveals himself, or he shoves you out the way so you won't get hurt, ultimately jumping in front of the threat without a worry of him getting hit instead. It's then that he realises how much he needs you in his life, how he needs you alive because you add some joy to it that he hasn't felt in all these years, a change from the darkness that his head's stuck in.
➳ It all comes out of him in a rush as he looks you up and down with wild eyes and a firm grip, asking if you're alright and saying in a rush that "you're one of the most important people in the world to me, and I don't know what I'd do if you got hurt... I- I couldn't live with myself, okay?!"
➳ Okayyy Mike, just kiss them 😏
➳ After you fight Afton together and get Vanessa looked after, you can finally breathe and properly start dating, which includes that familiar protectiveness and slight clinginess... and also being best friends with his little sister, which you 100% would be. You'd spend time drawing or chatting or playing random games while Mike was out working, eliminating the need for a babysitter because you're the perfect fit and get along with her great. And when he is home, you do a lot of stuff together, like a mini family, and there's finally that security and stability in that life she needed.
➳ I feel like Abby would find it hilarious to tell you all the sappy things Mike says about you on the rare occasions where you're not around, ending in Mike's cheeks flushing beet red and him picking her up and whirling her around playfully until she's in fits of laughter. "I heard Mike say that he found another reason to keep going when he realised he was in love wi- hey!!"
➳ Mike would be a bit clingy, again because of what happened with Garret; Mike being distracted for one moment and then blaming himself for the rest of his life because it was that moment where his brother was taken and killed. So if you are out, on a date or just around, this guy will not leave your side. He's the kind of person to text you again and again if you don't respond to the first message, and it's kind of cute how much he worries, but then he doesn't need to, and every now and then he'll need your reassurance that you guys are safe and that you won't leave him, which stills ends with him burying his face in your neck for a long tight hug for a while.
➳ MIKE'S A BIG HUGGER. CHANGE MY MIND.
➳ Whether you're watching a movie with him and Abby, or you're out on a date or sleeping or whatever, Mike will always have some contact with you if you've told him you're okay with it: fingers linked under the table, pressed into his side while you're watching TV (with an affectionate forehead kiss every five minutes 🥺) or being half crushed to death while you're trying to sleep when he rolls onto you and traps you under his leg... good luck if you need to go to the bathroom. Chances are he'll end up trailing after you with mumbled protests.
➳ That protectiveness always kicks in when someone looks at you for too long, or in a way that he doesn't like the look of, or if you're obviously uncomfortable with. If you're quick, you can just convince him to walk away and you two go somewhere else, because Mike will end up getting annoyed and giving the guy a line to get him to make them go away. If he's not careful, he might end up getting in a fight again, but he'll really try not to when you tell him off for it and promise him that things are okay and you're not going anywhere.
➳ You and Abby are basically Mike's world, after all that's happened, there are only really two people left that he truly cares for and would do anything for. Once you're in a relationship with him, he'll do everything he can to make sure you're safe and won't have to go through anything he had to. If ever you're upset, he'll listen for hours with no judgement and major support, whatever mood you're in somehow rubbing off on him. Mike will admit his feelings in a rush, and when he does, he's not afraid to tell you that he loves you whenever you need to hear it, or whenever he wants to say it and wants you to be reminded. It's something that you can never doubt.

Together. / Mike Schimdt
Tumblr media
Authors Note : So I just happened to watch the FNAF movie and my god it was so good, with a hint of good Lore in it. Also the cast was perfect and ever since watching it, I had a thought of writing a quick one shot for Mike and Y/N. Where Y/N suffers from hallucination and has the same symptoms but a different kind of illness than Abby's. Suggesting that they see also the kids but also the man who's being everything, not only controlling them and their life styles, resulting in a lack of sleep pattern and tons of trauma.
Enjoy!
Ps : Pls don't repost or copy and paste my works. Everything is written by me, and also note that English isn't my first mother language, so I apologize in advance if there is any grammar errors. I tried my very best.
------------
From one call to another, Mike encountered an unending stream of repetitive "nos" and polite rejections for the position he sought. It dawned on him that he might be the source of the issue, especially after the peculiar "incident" that may have left a stranger somewhat shaken. A few days post-dismissal, someone finally directed him to visit the office of Steve Raglan, a man he had never met before. Today presented the perfect opportunity. Mr. Raglan fit the mold of a man from a bygone era, with his distinctive round glasses and traditional attire. Michael's growing apprehension made him wonder if venturing into this place had been a poor decision all along.
A hushed pause enveloped the room as Mr. Raglan perused Mike's professional background with casual interest. "Well, Mike..." He paused in the midst of his sentence, stealing a quick, appraising glance in his direction. Mike responded nonchalantly. "Yes?" His voice, however, lacked the self-assuredness he longed to convey.
"Care for some coffee?" Steve's inquiry was succinct yet brimming with anticipation as he strolled toward his coffee machine. Mike hesitated, then replied, "Um... No, thank you. I'd rather get this done quick." Deep down, Mike yearned for a stable job, one that would enable him to look after his sister, Abby, and perhaps even sway their aunt to grant them custody.
Steve sensed the growing impatience in his client, who was eager to learn what the future had in store. "You know," Steve remarked, returning to his chair, his voice now tinged with excitement – a side effect, Mike presumed, of his coffee intake. "I recognize this place. It's a place where someone like you would give anything for the job..." A spark of curiosity ignited within Mike as he leaned closer to Mr. Reglan, raising an intrigued brow. "And," Mike inquired. "what makes this place so special?" Steve paused briefly, carefully choosing his words. "Well, you see..."
Mike found himself utterly perplexed by the revelation before him. The location had not only been abandoned since the '80s but also, the job requirements were far from aligning with his original intentions. The compensation was dismal, and he couldn't help but suspect that perhaps none of the previous security guards had been paid properly either. Or not paid at all. It involved a shift he had no expertise in and had no intention of pursuing, particularly after having to bail on his babysitter to bring Abby with him. It was an unequivocal "No." He declared firmly, convinced that this man was even more cynical than he was.
"Are you absolutely certain? Your resume suggests you're more than capable for the position." Mr. Raglan made one final attempt to persuade, his features softening subtly from their earlier rigidity. However, Mike shook his head once more, resolute in his decision. He muttered briefly about the job being the primary source of his conflict, preventing him from seeing Abby or ensuring she had a decent meal, not to mention avoiding losing custody to his aunt. With determination, he rose from his chair, ready to leave the office. Just as Mike was about to exit, Steve handed him his business card, his demeanor marked by a slight pout, swiftly followed by a confident smile. "Just in case, take this," he suggested. Mike, though hesitating for a moment, accepted the card out of politeness and left the office without a word.
After his meeting with Mr. Raglan, Mike's quest for the ideal job seemed to come to an unfortunate conclusion. None of the places he had contacted before his appointment with the advisor, and none since, had offered him any promising prospects. He was beginning to contemplate that maybe accepting the night shift at this particular place was the most feasible option for now. If nothing else, it would provide him with a source of income, and the busy night hours might keep his mind occupied. What enticed him even more was the prospect of being his own boss, with no co-workers to influence his ever-present paranoia. This thought made him more determined than ever to give it a try.
On that very same day, as Abby engrossed herself in her beloved TV shows, Mike settled in to tackle his usual paperwork. It was a task he wasn't particularly fond of, especially considering how the bills seemed to climb higher with each passing month. Even though they were essentially the same, being currently unemployed gave him the impression that each payment had somehow inflated. Just as he was wrapping up his tax payments, a business card slipped through the paperwork, piquing his curiosity and triggering an unexpected flashback.
He hesitated for a moment, contemplating the significance of the card, and then made an impulsive decision. Michael picked up the card and dialed Mr. Reglan's number.
Silence greeted Mike on the other end of the line, as if Mr. Raglan had anticipated the need to give him some space before speaking. "Hello, Mr. Raglan, it's Mike." He began, slightly perplexed. Oddly enough, he could almost sense the man's smile from the other end of the call. It was a whimsical, knowing smile, as if the company had despaired of finding anyone willing to take on the position. Advising Mr. Raglan to take anyone who had agreed upon the offer. "The man who doesn’t do night shifts..."
“How may I help you?”
He hesitated for a moment, taking a deep gulp. Ultimately, if he hoped to secure some much-needed income by the end of the month, Mike felt he had no choice but to go for it. With trepidation, he inquired about the availability of the job position. Mr. Raglan's response was swift and affirmative, exuding a sense of warmth toward the young man's inquiry. Encouraged by this, Mr. Raglan asked, "So, from the seemingly random question, can I assume you are accepting to be the Night Guard? Is that correct?"
“Yes.” Mike firmly agreed.
“Well!” Mr. Raglan exclaimed with a beam smile written on his features. “Now let me explain you everything you need to know…”
Mike's first night turned out to be anything but simple, despite his initial expectations. Although he had assumed it would be a straightforward affair, the reality hit him when he arrived at the Pizzeria. Mr. Raglan had painted an enticing picture, but the reality was far from appealing. The exterior of the place was drab, with a sign in disrepair, and an entrance that appeared older than Mike himself. The eerie atmosphere left him questioning the wisdom of his decision to accept the job. However, the need for money was a compelling motivator, so he soldiered on.
As he stepped into the building, he recalled being informed that the technology was outdated yet operational, suggesting that someone had been there before him to maintain it. Regardless, as long as their shifts didn't overlap, it was a situation he could live with. However, as he prepared to settle into his office, a profound sense of isolation crept over him. Or perhaps it was a feeling he had merely convinced himself of.
On that very night, Mr. Raglan had called for a check-in, a practice that you found rather unsettling. It only served to worsen your already fragile sleep schedule as the weeks passed. What made it even more distressing were the persistent, haunting visions of them replaying in your mind – flashbacks of their appearances at the restaurant and even inside your own home. But what set your anxiety spiraling was the presence of an eerie figure intertwined with these visions. This haunting scenario ultimately drove you to seek medical attention at the hospital due to severe sleep deprivation. After that harrowing incident, it's safe to say that your eyes would seldom close.
You had also received a rather cryptic warning to keep an eye on the new night security guard, as if your job wasn't demanding enough on its own. Strangely enough, you had never laid eyes on the big boss, nor had any idea what he even looked like. All you knew was that he had a penchant for privacy and seemed to have great faith in Mr. Raglan's knack for providing these kinds of employment opportunities.
As you cruised through the town, dressed in your security guard uniform, you made a pit stop at the convenience store. There, you grabbed some instant coffee and a few snacks to keep yourself alert during your night shift. It wasn't as if you desperately needed them, but considering the unpredictable behavior of the animatronics, especially on the new security guard’s very first day, you opted to stay on high alert. After all, it had been who knew how long since you'd managed to keep your sanity intact while enduring the trials of this dismal place.
You had casually mentioned to Vanessa that you had a few errands to run. She appeared as exhausted as you, both of you affected by the recent ordeal involving the security guard. You couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor guy, always caught in the middle of chaos and associated with the color purple. It seemed absurd that something so innocuous could be the root of all these problems, but you quickly dismissed such thoughts. After paying the cashier and expressing your gratitude, you left the store behind.
Mike's night was surprisingly going well, and he mused, "It's not as bad as I thought." Despite his seemingly confident tone, he remained alert and cautious. While you had explicitly advised Vanessa not to come and check on you, yet she did precisely the opposite. Mike suddenly became aware that he was not alone. Could it be a burglar? He had been sternly warned against letting any strangers in, and he was determined to follow that advice. However, Vanessa's impressive familiarity with the Pizzeria allowed her to slip in through an alternate entrance, demonstrating her knowledge of the place. Leading Mike into desperate urgent major. Finding the burglar.
Meeting Vanessa had caught him off guard, and he was momentarily taken aback by her unexpected presence. Vanessa, however, took the initiative to speak on his behalf. "You must be the new security guard," she observed. Mike, still trying to process who this woman was, offered a hesitant nod, prompting a chuckle from Vanessa at his reaction. "I'm Vanessa," she introduced herself, her tone light. "Security guard by day, and assistant by night."
"Assistant?" Mike scrutinized her, contemplating whether he should call the big boss to confirm her role. However, Vanessa reassured him, saying. "No need to. The big boss called Y/N to fix Foxy's lair."
"Y/N?" Mike inquired, skepticism evident in his voice. "And why should I take your word for it without any proof?" He stayed close to the camera footage and swiftly switched to the next camera, which was focused on Foxy's area. Everything appeared to be in pristine condition, suggesting the entire place had been left deserted. "And who is this... Y/N?"
Vanessa pointed at the screen displaying the main entrance, where you were standing, clearly aware of the camera above. You cheekily flipped your finger at the camera, leaving Mike torn between the belief that Vanessa was indeed present or that the security guard was merely doing his job, and she wasn't there at all.
"I informed them that I wouldn't be around, but they are rather fragile. They are being advised to be checked on during their shift." Vanessa explained. "While I focus on the animatronics to avoid raising any suspicion, I suggest you go and check on them.”
The instructions were unmistakable, and Mike had little choice but to comply. "But... what if the boss finds out I'm not at my station?" He voiced his concern. Vanessa couldn't help but chuckle softly, feeling a pang of sympathy for him. "Don't fret. He's already aware." She reassured him, her expression tinged with a hint of guilt.
"Great," Mike muttered with an eye roll as he returned to monitoring the main entrance. He couldn't help but steal a glance at your figure, noticing how cold you seemed on this early fall night. He could practically see you shouting on the other line, "Hey, jerk! Let me in, it's freezing out here!" Even though he couldn't hear your words, he could tell from the expression on your face. In response, he finally granted you access, and you muttered with relief. "About time..." just before stepping inside.
As you stepped inside, the interior of the place made you acutely aware of your luck, albeit in an eerie way. It was undeniably creepy, yet you had an inexplicable sense of safety and even felt oddly welcomed. Foxy, known to be the most terrifying and historically the meanest of them all, somehow found solace in your presence. You could have sworn that at times, his eyes seemed to lower, watching as you tended to him. It was as though he had a hidden identity, not quite ready to reveal his true nature, you suspected.
As you wandered through the Pizzeria, Mike couldn't help but notice your diminutive figure amidst all the towering animatronics. He found it difficult to fathom how someone so petite could be employed in this establishment. He murmured his thoughts to Vanessa, nudging her gently. "Maybe we—" He began, but she quickly interrupted, saying, "Not now."
As you finished repairing Bonnie, the big boss tasked you with fixing Foxy, who had been acting strangely. It struck you as odd because Foxy typically only reacted to potential intruders. He preferred targeting moving objects over those playing hide and seek until they got too close. You made your way up to his lair, pulled back the curtains, and revealed his silhouette. "Seems like someone's been naughty lately..." Your voice usually provided comfort, but today it had an odd tone. "Have you...met the new guard?" You found it rather absurd to be talking to a robotic entity, particularly one as poorly and cheaply programmed as you had discovered. If there was one thing you wanted to tell the big boss, assuming you ever met them, it was to consider upgrading the gear if they ever thought of opening another Pizzeria.
On the other end, Mike observed you with a watchful eye. It didn't take long before you began repairing Foxy's arm and his body started to glitch unexpectedly. "Weird... I thought—" Your words were abruptly cut off by a loud and startling BANG. Foxy's eyes were now fixed on you, but they were different from what you were used to. They were red and filled with anger, just like in your recurring nightmares. In that harrowing moment, you froze in place, uncertain of what to do next. "Y/N!" Vanessa's voice came through the walkie-talkie, but you couldn't hear it. Everything around you felt vacant, as if you were about to become Foxy's last meal of the night... or so you feared.
An arm swiftly reached out and pulled you close to its owner. Mike clutched you tightly, and a sense of terror and dread washed over both of you. It was Mike who managed to break free from the grip and make a dash for the monitor room, but just as he got there, Bonnie arrived, blocking his path. "Damn it," he cursed, frantically scanning for an alternate route. You, from your vantage point, weakly directed him, "The first aid room...to the right."
Without uttering a word of thanks, which, given the gravity of the situation, seemed secondary to getting you to safety, Mike finally brought you to the emergency room. It was a room that had seen far too much use, but oddly enough, everything seemed to return to normal once you arrived. The animatronics had moved elsewhere, and for some reason, they couldn't access the area. This brought a sense of relief to Mike. He carefully placed your body on a rather shabby bunk bed and softly murmured, "Here..." You remained in a state of shock, your eyes wide as if your body had been frozen in place. "Hey," He attempted to reassure you, "you're safe now. Vanessa should... Great job, Mike, real smooth." He berated himself inwardly for his awkward choice of words.
Upon hearing Vanessa's presence, you lifted your head abruptly, your eyes brimming with tears you were trying to hold back. Just when you thought of her, she appeared, precisely knowing where to find you. You felt a mixture of relief and concern as she leaned in to inspect you for any wounds or scratches, cupping your face and keeping her gaze locked on you. "Has they had any water?" Mike, who was present to assist, appeared increasingly nervous this time. Being new to this place, he didn't know everything either. "Where... Where is it?" He stammered, quickly searching the room. Vanessa pointed in the direction, her eyes never leaving you. "The first storage room to the left."
"Y/N, look at me." Vanessa implored, his voice filled with unease. "The man doesn't exist. He's not here... He's a fictional—"
Nervously, Mike handed the water bottle to Vanessa, who then offered it to you. This time, you shook your head vigorously, tears streaming down your face. "No! I saw him. Foxy spoke his name to me! It can't just be in my dreams!" You pleaded, desperate to convince them, despite your previous breakdowns being labeled as delusional by past doctors. As you shook your head, you realized that Mike was beside you. You clung to his arm, causing him to gulp nervously, just a little. "You have to believe me... Please..."
Mike found it hard to believe, even though you had clearly experienced a breakdown in that moment. While it was entirely understandable, he tried to do the same thing Vanessa did. "Perhaps you should just take a moment to breathe." He suggested. "Whenever I'm in a state of panic, my doctor advises me to take deep breaths." You observed him closely and countered. "And does your doctor say you're insane?"
Insane…
As undeniable as the truth was, it struck Mike that perhaps you were right. Everything seemed so peculiar when it came to Abby and Y/N's imaginary friends, especially with Vanessa working so hard to conceal her friend's breakdowns. "You know... now that you mention it..." Mike began, leaning in to discuss it further. Vanessa attempted to nudge him away, but you allowed him to continue. But he stopped. And by locking eyes with each other, you both knew something was wrong with this place. So in response, you leaned in and wrapped yourself in his arm. There was something about him that felt like home. You felt protected and, for once, someone truly understood you.
On the other hand, Mike comforted you with a few soothing rubs on your back. He glanced at Vanessa, who seemed to share the relief but carried a heavy load of guilt inside, which she wasn't ready to disclose to either Mike or you. “Shh… I got you.” He said, with a soothing voice that remembered it as your older brother. Not letting it go he continued. “We are going to get through all of this together… Y/N.”
“Together…”
In the distance, Abby observed the trio with Foxy's humanoid presence beside her. Foxy, who felt a deep sense of guilt for what he had done to them just hours ago, hesitated to intervene to bring Y/N back to him. However, as he watched Mike and you, he felt a strong urge to protect you, jealousy even you were a mother figure for everyone, but especially Foxy. Abby noticed his face changing into hatred until she halted him with a reassuring smile. "There's no need," Abby whispered. "They have found someone... Someone who truly cares for them. Someone who will love and protect them."
Foxy silently observed the scene unfolding before his eyes, and as he heard Abby's words, he felt a sense of relief welling up within him. Watching it all happen, Foxy came to realize that Abby was indeed right. Y/N had found someone they could genuinely rely on, someone with whom she could openly express their feelings..

Caitvi and Timebomb nations, Meljay democracy feels your pain.
Having these characters you love and their stories and their love being pushed to the side because of a “ship“ that not only isn’t canon and is brotherly love but also watching the pain that majority of your ships are going through. Seeing how the show and certain fans ignore it and leave all these characters you love in this horrible position.
I would’ve loved to see Vi get to have her own journey where she doesn’t end up without anyone except Caitlyn but having her sister back in a different way where they all take care of each other. I know an older sibling out there needs to see themself being taken care of and growing from past hurt with their younger sibling.
Or Caitlyn getting to properly heal from losing her mother and all these changes in her beliefs at once. Seeing her making the choice to be better than the beliefs she might have seen her parents embody while growing up. Who can’t relate to wanting to be better than what your parents showed you?
Or Ekko who doesn’t, we don’t even know, lose his tree and doesn’t lose the best friend and love he finally got back. How many of us are tired of just constantly giving all of ourself and the universe seemingly not caring?
What about a world where Jinx got to choose to live? Where she gets to be the representation we deserve for people who are struggling with mental health every day and still choosing to fight while still being loved by her sister and childhood best friend?
Where Mel isn’t just another black woman who has to be strong on her own and can finally rely on those around her? Where she can grow from the anger she was raised to only see and instead choose love and the family you make in the real world?
and where Jayce isn’t just another man of colour pushed to the side where his only purpose is to lift up the meow meow of certain people. Where men can love their friends and wear their hearts on their sleeve and at the end be rewarded with chosen family (Caitlyn and Vi) and love (Mel)
We deserved to see these stories. We deserved some semblance of hope because the world is so scary now. And just having moments where we can celebrate loving someone from the other side while being women or your long time love seeing a flicker of hope and carrying on or you seeing hope in all that you fight for or just taking the step to move away from all that you’ve known (your blood family) and holding the hand of the person who gave you the space to grow that or or just the reward that not losing faith in humanity is in a bad thing I’m being punished for still having hope would mean so much to so many different people.

What about reader was a street kid that somehow ended up under hanks wing, she thinks of hank as a big brother, she ends up going to titans tower with hank and dawn, Jason thinks shes so cool and really likes her but idiot titans jason decides the best way to go about his feelings is to be a bit of a douchebag and to show off, Hank picks up what he's doing and literally lifts him off the ground with one hand and is like leave my sister alone, and then Jason's like oh shit your sister!? Basically just something silly and fun and also I bloody love hank and dawn so I had to include them ♡
Jason Todd x Fem!Reader
"Leave my sister alone, Todd."
Tumblr media
Hank was walking through an alley, a shortcut on the way to a fast food place to meet up with Dawn, when he heard something hit the dumpsters. His fists clench, ready to fight whatever may cause harm.
What he didn't expect was a teenage girl with a pipe in her hands.
Without thinking, Hank took a couple steps closer. "Hey, I'm not gonna hurt- OW, what the fuck!" He yelled, grabbing his head that you hit harshly with the pipe.
"Oh, my god, I'm sorry!" You exclaimed, not giving him the chance to finish his sentence, stating that he meant no danger to you. "I thought you were gonna stab me or something!" You jog up to him, supporting him by the shoulders, checking for any blood.
"No, no, my fault. Some big, scary, man stranger walking through an alley in the middle of the night isn't the most safest thing to walk across." He groans. He inseocts you for a few seconds, noticing the dirt and filth all over your clothes, and scratch marks around your face.
"Hey, kid, you live around here? Why are you even out so late?" Hank asks, regaining his posture.
"It's Y/n, firstly, not kid. And restaurants throw out some good food at the end of the day. I was just dumpster diving," you say casually, as if it was the norm. "And, yes and no? I live around here, but.. uhh, no permanent house."
Hank mentally groans. The last thing he wanted was to become like Dick, and taking in "strays" was one of Dick's main attributes. But you didn't have shelter, and you were eating food out of the dumpster.
"Hey, listen, I know I'm still big, scary man stranger, but I'm meeting up with my girlfriend at BatBurgers. How about we get you something to eat that doesn't have the possibility of getting you any diseases?" He offers.
You think for a moment. You had nothing to lose. Sure, this man might actually kidnap you, OR you might get a fresh, hot meal for the first time in a long while.
"Lead the way, mister," you say.
"You can call me Hank, kid," he smiles, walking the rest of the way to the diner.
"Oh, and who's this?" Dawn asks, crouching slightly to meet you at eye level.
"This is Y/n. She'll be joining us," Hank states as he opens the door. "Go on in," he says to you, nodding his head in.
The way you bounced in excitement had Hank smiling. "New friend?" Dawn asks, mirroring his grin.
"You can say so."
Hank and Dawn's talking was half tuned out, stuffing your face with a burger and fries. The couple had no judgement, acknowledging that it could've been a minute since you've eaten properly.
"I'll go to the bathroom," Dawn whispers to Hank as she shuffles out of the booth.
"She's the girlfriend?" You whisper, leaning forward to Hank, who was sat in front of you.
"Yeah, she is. She's Dawn." Hank replies
You nod, taking another bite of the burger. "She's pretty," you claim, voice muffled through the meat and cheese stuffed in your mouth.
"Alright, listen, real talk." Hank begins, gaining your attention. "You obviously weren't listening. So... Me and Dawn were thinking... how about you come stay with us. You clearly need a place to stay, a shower, food. We got what you need."
"Are you guys those Hawk and Dove people?" You ignore his new offer as his eyes widen.
"Wha-" He clears his throat. "No, no, no. We're not." He stammers, looking around the empty diner, seeing if anyone had heard you.
"We're not what?" Dawn asks, returning from the toilet.
"Dawn, tell her we are NOT Hawk and Dove," Hank says through gritted teeth.
Dawn turns to you. "Where'd you get that idea?" She says out of impressed curiosity.
You shrugged, sipping on your cola. "Hank and Dawn. Hawk and Dove. Sounds real similar. Plus he's not great at hiding the fact," you state nonchalantly while pointing at Hank.
"Plus, you guys are offering me a home. Better knowing you guys are superheroes rather than junkies trying to sell me through the black market, right?"
Hank and Dawn share a known look. "Alright, kid. We're only admitting this so you have a place to stay without any second thoughts in regard to your safety." Hank says, pointing back at you.
You shrug once more. "Then I guess I'm staying with you two. A shelter and supes to protect me? Double win," you crack a smile.
So, Hank and Dawn welcomed you into their home and into their lives. Though it was mostly Hank taking the wheel in this newfound relationship. Exceot for clothes shopping. That was Dawn's expertise.
But since you already knew both their secret identities, Hank wanted to train you in combat and stealth, wanting you to be able to protect yourself when you're home alone while the couple was out.
The longer you stayed with Hank, though, the more you saw him as family. As an older brother. And he can't lie, even though he hasn't known you for long, he likes to think of you as a little sister.
"Hey, kid, listen," Hank chimes, walking into the living room and taking a seat next to you on the couch while Dawn is perched on the arm rest beside him. It's almost been a year since you've stayed with Hank and Dawn, and you don't think life could get any better. "Me and Dawn have been thinking-"
"Uh oh, that's never a good sign," you joke with a snarky smirk.
"Hush, anyways. You've been getting so good at your training. We think that you would be a great contribution to... the Titans?" Hank says unsurely, not knowing how you'd react. "I called up Dick, telling him that we got a badass girl under our wing. Asked him to give you a shot. What do you think?"
After a few seconds of disbelief and processing, you spring up from the couch. "HOLY SHIT!" You exclaim. "A slot in the Titans, are you serious?!" A wide grin stretches along your face, hurting your cheeks.
"You can even get your own room there so you're never alone when me and Hank are out," Dawn smiles.
You pause. "But I like staying with the two of you."
Your little confession makes the couple's heart melt.
"Sis, we're still gonna be there with you around the tower. It's just gonna be a different change of scenery," Hank assures.
You take a breath. "So, when do we go?"
Upon arrival, you're close behind Hank, lightly grabbing onto his shirt while he leads the way. "What if they think I'm lame?" You ask nervously.
Hank laughs and looks down behind him. "They won't. Everyone's nice. Well.. except for that asshole, Jason."
"Hank," Dawn calls out, giving him a look that tells him to drop the attitude.
Before you can ask more about this apparent asshole, the elevator doors open, and you hide directly behind Hank's large frame. Everyone was already waiting for your arrival.
"Guy, this is Y/n- Y/n, would you get-" Hank grabs your shoulder, pushing you in front of him.
"Hi.." You queitly say while awkwardly waving towards the group.
"Hey, I'm Jason," a boy with loose and wild curls with a grin comes walking out to you, holding his hand out.
You completely forget about Hank's previous statement, already enchanted by the boy while shaking his hand.
"Nope." Hank says, lightly pushing Jason's shoulder, backing him away from you.
"Aw, come on, Hank, you know I'm not so bad." Jason smiles, feigning innocence.
Hank pushes you, determined for you to meet the rest of the group who isn't Jason.
Dick and Hank show you to your new room. While Dick returns to the others, Hank helps you unpack your little belongings.
Suddenly, you couldn't help but go up to Hank and give him a tight hug, taking him by surprise.
"Wow, okay, what's this, kid?" Hank says, an arm around your shoulders and hand protectively placed on your head.
"Just a thanks. For everything. You and Dawn did a lot for me. You're a great brother," you admit. Hank smiles, rubbing your back, telling you it's not a big deal.
Dick leads you to the training room, where Gar, Rachel,and Jason were already at. The three of them were sparring blindfolded, which shook you a lot, knowing that you were probably nowhere near that level of training yet. Sure, Hank has taught you the importance of losing senses while fighting and taught you how to fight without those senses, but still. When you see others doing it, you begin to rethink your training.
But Jason caught your eye once more. He seemed so flawless at this. Like he was born,with that kind of talent and skill.
"Alright, guys, wrap it up," Dick says.
"Aw, man, I was just about to beat these two losers!" Jason says, immediately shutting up after he sees you once he takes his blindfold off.
Gar lightly hits Jason with his wooden sword playfully while Jason just smiles.
"Gar," Dick calls out. "Spar with Y/n for a bit. We need to see what we're working with."
"Why can't I train with her?" Jason asks, a little annoyed as he wanted to get to know you better.
"Because Dick knows you'll cry about it if she beats you," Rachel mutters, Jason flipping her off.
"Gar knows when to hold back, Jason. Sit down," Hanks says, crossing his arms. "Let them do it blindfolded," he suggests as you and Dick look at him with furrowed eyebrows.
You chuckle awkwardly. "Aha.. no, no. No, no. That's not necessary. I will suck ass if I-"
"Blindfolded," Hank interrupts. He knows that you're underestimating yourself and that you're more capable than you realise.
"Blindfolded it is," Dick mutters, handing you a blindfold.
You take a breath, you and Gar getting into a stance, preparing yourselves. There were no weapons for this. Which is fine by you. You were always good at talking with your fists.
"Go!" Dick yells.
Gar charged forward, ready to attack. But you stayed where you were.
Listen, then go. You thought to yourself. With every step, every breath, every breeze that moved with his body, you can hear Gar's movement. Just as he was about to go in for a punch, you block him. You grab his arm, twisted it, then threw him over your shoulder.
Gar groaned on the floor, removing his blindfold. You removed yours slowly, staring at the green hair boy below you.
You turn to the others who were surprised at the sudden turn, except Hank, who had a cocky grin on his face. "Did... I do it right?" You quietly ask.
A small smile slowly formed across Dick's face. "Welcome to the Titans."
Dick had to pull Hank out of the training room, telling him that you're in good hands with the other three. But Hank didn't trust Jason. So Dick promised they'll just be in the other room. If things go south, he'll be quick to come to your safety.
"So, you wanna train with me?" Jason immediately asks you once Hank leaves the room. Gar and Rachel give each other a look, knowing that Jason is already down bad for you.
You take a step back, feeling a tad bit intimidated, especially after seeing how skilled he was. "I.. I don't know. I think you're too advanced for me."
Saying that this made Jason's ego sky rocket is an understatement.
"Ah, come on, babe. I'll go easy, trust me. I'll even teach ya how to improve," he offers, his hands resting on his hips.
Your face slightly flushed at the sudden nickname. You cleared your throat. "Yeah, okay."
Jason stretches his arms out, pointing to his chest. "Alright, go on, take a jab at me."
Going in for the punch, Jason steps to the side, avoiding the strike, grabbing your arm, pinning you to the ground, and holding your arm behind your back.
"Alright, alright. So you actually need to- hey, what the fuck! Put me down!" Just as Jason explains where you went wrong, his feet were dangling a few centimetres off the ground.
"Leave my sister alone, Todd," Hank growls, holding Jason in the air by his collar.
"Hank!" You yell, sitting up.
"Shit, that's your sister?" Jason asks, looking back and forth from you and Hank while Rachel takes her phone out to take a pic of the moment. "She single?" He boldly asks while your face heats up as he sends you a wink.
Hank was about to waste no time punching Jason in the face, when Dick walks in, telling him to put Jason down. It takes Hank a few moments and a couple of glares to comply.
"Stay away from her," he threatens one last time before taling you by the arm, pulling you out of the room.
But that was a before you sent Jason a smile and a wave goodbye, and he returned the smile and a nod of his head.
The two of you know that Jason is definitely not going to leave you alone during your stay.

Chapter 2
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Mom keeps talking about how happy she is that we finally spend time together after so many years, just like the old times.
She grabs my face. “Now the 9 years of difference are almost imperceptible.”
“Mom! I don't look that old!” Lewis choked with his fruit.
“You wish you looked like this at my age.” He sat straight. I was about to speak but mom interrupted us.
“Keep eating, keep eating.”
This week I'll be at our parents house, so Lewis can have a few days off from me.
A Wednesday night mom entered the kitchen where Jewel keeps at my side.
“How is the project going?” I'm buried in papers, madeleines and tea.
I scoff and take my glasses. “Good? I don't know, I never imagined this amount of responsibility.”
Mom serves a cup of tea, and sits next to me.  “He said you're doing pretty well.” I scoff and watch the papers and empty pens, picking up all the things so we can talk calmly.
“Next is?” I pat Jewel and gave her a piece of carrot which reject at the second bite. Lewis and his idea about trying to become her vegetarian, it's useless.
“Miami.”
I’m melting like ice, if I thought the first day we arrived was hot I was clearly short about how hot the day of the race is.
“How much weight will he lose?” I asked the doctor who weighs Lewis and George.
“Between 4 or 5 kilos.” I opened my eyes. “Maybe 6.”
“SIX?! Oh my word!” Lewis laughed and set properly his race suit one more time. “Drive safe, all right?” He nods and kisses my cheek.
I walk to the hospitality area, 50 minutes until the race begins although I see Checo chatting with Yuki, a casual talk in the way both are laughing. This time Red Bull is in front of Mclaren and Mercedes next to them.
Checo saw me and waved his hand, so I walked closer to greet him properly.
“Hi. Yuki have you met Y/N?” Yuki made a small bow and I did the same. “She is Lewis sister.”
Yuki opened his eyes, like he just knew a big secret.
“How are you?” Checo asks me, I move my hand trying to have a fresh breeze of air.
“Melting, but I'm fine.” Both giggle.
Yuki is the first young driver I officially met, beside George of course. “It's your first time in the paddock?”
Checo saw me with pressed lips. “Kind of.” It’s a half honest answer. “I'm dying to be in Japan, that definitely will be my first time.”
Yuki smiles as we get involved in a deep talk about food and places I should visit in the few days we'll be there.
“It’s hot, definitely hot.” We turn around and see Max walking right to us. “Morning Yuki, Y/N.”
I don't want to be rude with Yuki so I cut the conversation as friendly as I can. “I count on you for that, all right?”
Yuki nodded and I said goodbye to them bumping fists with Checo.
“What did I say this time?” Max says it almost right to my face. Checo laughs and pat his teammate back.
“You’re on the darkside, mate.” Max bluffs but raises his voice as I walk away.
“FINE! IT DOESN'T MATTER!” I roll my eyes when I enter the hospitality building.
A tricky race, Lewis fought until the last lap but just reached the sixth position. It hasn't been his weeks and he knows it by the way he goes down this car and walks slowly to the garage.
This time I took a risk and waited for him at the back of the garage, even here I could hear the noise of camera shots, reporters and all the talks from the mechanics.
Lewis was surprised I was there. “Hey.” I smile and give him a small push, making just the faith of a smile appear on his face.
“You get back, don’t pressure yourself too much.” He just nods and keeps walking to change his clothes, definitely mad about his performance.
By the time we arrived at the hotel Lewis put on his best facade during the day and tried to fool us but the one who knew him, saw something was going on.
“What do you want for dinner?” He asked me as we left the paddock.
“Actually, I prefer rest, tomorrow I have an early flight and I still have things to work on.” I’m hungry but I know he always chooses to make me company when actually he's dying from a proper rest.
Lewis is about to complain but I grab his hand on the SUV. “It’s ok, I eat a lot in the hospitality and I always can order room service.” He laid back in the seat. “Just rest, all right?”
I don't lie, I kept working on some drawings until my stomach started to growl, but I needed fresh air, so I took my purse and phone and went out for dinner.
After a quick research online I found myself waiting on a food truck for a burrito and a lemonade, with the ocean at my back and a humid ambient.
“Here you have. Enjoy your food.” A young woman gave me my order, I thanked her sitting in one of the benches they have.
It’s a peaceful night of course with a Grand Prix this morning, you can hear from time to time chattings about the drivers, the race and the results.
“I'm telling you, it was insane!” A man is walking hand in hand with a girl, who is thrilled as him, for the way she makes little jumps and talks with her hands.
“It will be out of this world, be this close to a car.” She narrows the distance of her fingers.
I scoff as I clean my fingers after finishing my dinner, even in the most random place people agree with Max.
I go back walking to the hotel, just a 20 minute walk; I need to do the last adjustment before I leave. I was talking with the receptionist when loud laughs and mumblings distract me.
Carlos, Charles, Lando, George and Max enter the hotel making the few people still up late at night and staff members look at them.
“Miss?” The receptions remind me of what we were talking about.
I asked her to please wake me up at 4 am, and disobey Lewis' order, they don’t wake him up. I take full responsibility for him not getting upset leaving a handwritten note.
“Sorry.” I ended up writing the note and gave it to her. “Thank you so much.” The girl smiles at me before I take my phone and walk, seeing the photos of Nicola with the kids and Roscoe.
Until I almost hit my face with the floor of the lobby.
“Don’t worry, nothing is going to happen to you tonight.” I didn’t even notice the fast reaction of Max grabbing my left arm.
The half twisted smile and the fact he's holding too to a chair, make me take my arm from his hand.
“I'm fine, thanks.” Max stares at Charles who has a red face almost like a tomato, sitting in the chair.
“Long legs, you almost make a girl fall, that's rude.” I refuse to get involved in this so I start to walk to the elevator.
“Wait, I'll take you to your room.” Max panicked and corrected himself. “To the door of your room, not inside of your room, at the frame of your door.”
I bluff, he's definitely drunk and the only one staying alone there; Charles, is talking with a girl who is coming for him.
I want to leave him there, I truly want to, but the half closed eyes and the fact he believes he is the savior when I easily could get in trouble, makes me doubt.
I clicked the bottom for the elevator but he sits on the chair.
“Goodness gracious.” I whisper to myself before walking back and pull him to the elevator.
He looks at me with his eyes as open as possible, still I didn't even say a word.
The 10 floors seem eternal as the elevator goes up, I keep tipping the floor with my feet as it could make it go faster, getting distracted when I feel Max is sliding.
I complain internally about dad always teaching us help every time you can. I grabbed his arm and put it around me, at least he could lean on me.
“Which one is your floor?” The smell of whisky is perceptible.
“What? No, no, I'll take you. You're the one who almost got hurt.” I clicked my tongue; discussing with him is harder, now, being drunk could be a pain.
“Ok, at least you should tell me, just in case I need more help.” My words are pure irony.
He sighs and a rumble laugh comes out of him along with a. “Smart girl.”
My giggle is an honest one. “Yes, I know.”
When we reach the 12th floor Max keeps mumbling things about the race, the night and why he “thinks” he’s probably drunk.
“Ok, which one is yours?” I practically dragged him out of the elevator begging no one else where in the hallway.
He splits and leans on the wall. “No, no, no. You first.” He highcough, still I know I have to be patient.
“Why don’t we go to your room, calm and then you could leave on mine? If you throw up, at least I prefer to be in your room.” He scoffs but nods.
“Omg, Max?” I feel my blood turn cold when I hear another voice. “I thought you would say any drinks tonight.” A man runs to him and holding him avoids him crashing on the floor.
“It was the plan, just…” He plays with his fingers before grabbing the man shirt. “A few.”
“Let’s go, I’ll take you to your room.” But Max splits and points to me.
“No, we almost made this young girl fall, I must leave her in her room safe.” Finally the man noticed my existence and smiled in an apologetic way.
“I’m sorry, but one of the girls called to the reception about Max making a scene in the lobby but when I arrived he was already gone.” The man extended his hand. “I’m Harry, teammate of Max.”
I take his hand. “Y/N Hamilton.” He blinked rapidly.
“Y/N Ham… Hamilton. Lewis sister?” He mumbled, still Max answered for me.
“His little sister, to be more clear.” Harry threw lethal eyes to him.
“You made Lewis little sister carry you up here in these conditions?” Max nods slowly and makes me smile. “Oh, right, I almost forgot, almost made her fall.”
“Fuck yeah.” Max answers and walks where I still was standing.
“No, no, let’s go Max, you need to lay down.” Harry tries to grab him but he already has his arm around my shoulders holding me tight.
It’s obvious he won’t let go of his nonsense of leaving in my room.
“Hey Max, let’s do what I propose, all right? Then you could leave in my room.” In his condition, as soon as he touches his bed he falls asleep. Harry watches us unsure however follows us until his room.
Inside I walked with him to his bed as Harry closed the door and ordered a strong coffee to his room. When we reached the border of his bed I carefully made him sit but he fell backwards and closed his eyes, like I predicted.
I was about to leave him when he spoke, turning to his left side. “Y/N, you’re pretty strong you know that?”
His words left me surprised with a strange sensation of pride. Harry enters and apologizes one more time, saying he takes care of him.
“Thanks Y/N. Most of the people will leave him, making sure they win a good post on their feeds.” I nod before walking out of the room, this time after 20 minutes I arrive at my room.
By the time I was about to get in the plane, I received a text from Lewis complaining that I must wait for him to at least he take me to the airport but I calmed him down saying I take one of his boys to do that.
“Try to have fun, ok?” I keep reading his text before entering the house.
After my no-wedding I barely see my friends, I feel so ashamed and embarrassed even though there were just a few ones who used it all the “momentum” against me. This is the first time I came to a birthday party fully convinced.
“It's nice you came Y/N, thanks.” Thomas hugs me after I finally get the chance to talk to him, he’s the birthday boy.
“Oh my, look who’s here!” The voice of Hanna or I must say the scream makes Thomas sigh and I tense my whole body.
“I’m sorry but even if I tried, she always is in the wrong moment.”
I take a deep breath before facing one more time my “best friend” who tactfully reminded me after and during 5 months of my broken heart.
“Go, I can deal with her.” Thomas is about to speak but it's his birthday, the last thing he needs is stress on his day. “I’m fine.”
Thomas nods and walks away as Hanna comes closer, a drink in her hand and poison accumulation in her mouth.
“My girl, it’s been what? 9 or 10 months since we saw you?” Both of us know the last time she saw me it’s the day after my wedding. “And you barely reply to my texts.”
“Yes, I've been kind of bussy.” I play with the ice of my drink to avoid making eye contact.
Hanna fake a compressive smile, predicting something she will say. “I can imagine after a failure like an almost wedding, there are a thousand things to do.”
Even now she gets under my skin so easily.
“I sent you the invitation for my party but you didn't reply or anything like that.” She takes a sip of her drink.
“You know, it's the 21st century, when something is unwanted, hateful or something like that the mail goes right to the spam.” I turn around to see Mika challenge her.
Mika is a friend from the college who Hanna always told me it’s a witch, I guess it was her reflection in the mirror.
“Mika, nice to see you.” Hanna said, trying to kill her with her eyes.
“I love to say the same but…” Mika eats his olive and smiles. “It’s stressful to see you.”
Hanna scoffs but I learn something about Mika all the months she helps me pack and making sure I barely see people who were enjoying seeing me that hurt, she doesn’t leave a prayer alive.
“But hey! Don’t worry, I’m not the only one who thinks the same here.” Hanna takes a deep breath before leaving us.
I take out all the air I’ve counted and smile at Mika. “Thanks.”
She smiles. “She’s been hunting you since she arrived, I was at the backyard with the food but Thomas gives heads up.” She takes the last sip of his martini. “Nevermind her, let’s party all night.”
I spent the night talking with friends, drinking and enjoying the night dancing, until the clock marked 2:37 am, and my legs screamed for rest.
I say goodbye to everyone leaving Thomas and Mika at the end. “Thank you for inviting me.” I hug Thomas at his door.
“Thanks for coming, hey, when you’re in town give us a call, any plan could come out.” He smiles at me.
“And if you need something for the refuge, we love to help.” Mika said, almost dragging her words.
I was about to get in the cap when unlucky Hanna realized I was about to leave.
“Y/N make sure at least just pass another 4 months until we see you again.” The bloody wink makes my blood boil.
The next morning I was received in the kitchen with an aspirin, and a black coffee.
“Long, funny night?” Dad smiles at me with a newspaper in his hands.
I cover my eyes with a napkin. “How can people do this every weekend?”
Dad chuckles and I hear the slow but heavy steps in the wood floor along the gasp, Roscoe is coming.
“Hi, baby.” I carness his head as he closes his eyes. “Wait a little bit more and you’ll be with me.”
After the race in Italy, I already talked with Lewis about taking Roscoe a week earlier before the race in Monaco, a little help and a needed backup for the team.
“Me?” Dad asks standing to prepare the breakfast, I roll my eyes and clarify.
“Us, you’ll be with us.” I sat on the floor and gave a kiss to him. “Let’s keep a secret, I'm your favorite.”
I arrived the night before the race, I had two visit schedules for seeing apartments and made it impossible for me to leave until the night; that’s why I don’t see my brother until early morning, indeed early morning.
“Morning.” I appeared at the restaurant of the hotel where he and Bottas were having breakfast before getting ready to go to the paddock.
“Oh, hi, I thought I’ll see you in the paddock.” I kiss his cheek before giving a hug to Bottas.
“I’m hungry.” I joke as I sit with them, Bottas giggles and calls for the waitress.
“Something doesn't change.” We looked at him with curious eyes. “For winning something with his young lady, food is a shortcut.”
Lewis laughs nodding incessantly. “I couldn't agree more.”
Arriving at the paddock when the drivers are doing the same, is total chaos, people, reporters and cameras all over the place, it’s like an obstacle race.
I walked to the Mercedes hospital next to Red Bull and in front of Ferrari, my eyes were stuck on my phone, when I felt someone soft touch.
I lift my eyes and I recognize the girl in front of me, the same that picked up Chalres. “Hi.”
“Hi, I’m Alexandra, Charles' girlfriend.” I nod, but don’t say another word. “I want to apologize for leaving you alone the other night.”
Oh I got it. “Oh, no worries, it’s ok.” I smile honestly as I put my hand on her arm.
“I hope someone went fast to help you, I tried to go back but Charles was a little bit of a troublemaker that night.” Well, at least I wasn’t the only one with that situation.
I laughed and shook my head. “You’re the one who called to pick him?” Alexandra nods. “Thank you, and yeah, someone help me.”
“Great! I think I'm seeing you around right?” I realized I didn't introduce myself.
“We could say that, I’m Lewis sister, Y/N.” She smiles but we were interrupted by Charles, who has an embarrassed expression.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry.” He giggles and covers his face with his hands. “I’m so embarrassed with you.”
Alexandra giggles, it's obvious the love in her eyes. “When Alex told me what happened…” He sighs. “I’m sorry.”
I shake my head, containing the laugh. “It’s ok, don’t worry, I understand, great race.”
“Max wasn't that drunk.” Alexandra plays with him, making him raise his eyebrow. “She’s in fact Lewis sister.”
“Oh, he's definitely going to throw up this time.” Charles noticed the confusion on my face. “When Aelx told us what happened, Max said he had blurry memories of you helping him but we thought it’s the hangover, clearly it’s not.”
“Talking about the king of Rome.” Alexndra points to Max who’s coming out of Red Bull hospitality.
When I turn around I see a red Max walking… dragging his feets to us, the blue t-shirt just makes the redness intensify.
“Am, Y/N?” Rosa calls me to appear at the door. “Your brother is looking for you.” I nod but the fact I don’t move makes her say one more thing. “Like, now.”
I open my eyes and before Max reaches us I apologize to them and wish Charles a good race, running inside as she holds the door for me.
“Making friends?” She smiles at me as I walk inside and put an arm around me.

Hi
In your Jordana lighting master au what is her and jay relationship like? why did he protect her from Nya even tho she works for ras? Why did Nya and the other ninja react to dragon jay and why did Nya try to kill jordana
First of all, for anyone new here, this is about my Jordana Lightning Master AU.
Hii!! Thank you for asking me about my AU gahsgshsg I hope the answers are satisfactory.
For the first one, you can find information about Jay and Jordana's relationship here since I recently talked about it in another ask :D as for the other questions..
Why did Jay protect Jordana from Nya, even though she works for Ras?
Jay isn’t entirely himself throughout this AU. As a person, he still lacks memories from before the Administration and thus doesn’t remember any connection to the ninja. His main goals are related to protecting Jordana, so when Jordana feels terrified of Nya and perceives her as a threat, his immediate course of action is to defend Jordana from said threat.
At this point in the story too, Jordana isn’t working for Ras. That ended when he ‘abandoned’ her at the tournament. Besides that, she hasn’t been a fan of Ras since before Jay was murdered and Jay has never seen her as a willing lackey of Ras’, instead seeing her as a scared kid with little ability to defend herself against (and therefore defy) Ras.
How did Nya and the other ninja react to dragon!Jay?
Nya instantly recognises that the dragon is Jay. She doesn’t even remember to be scared, overwhelmed by the fact that she’s face to face with her lover that she never honestly thought she’d see again. All ninja aside from Nya don’t recognise Jay at first, and react defensively, moving back and even activating their elements in preparation to be attacked. Not Nya though. She loses all feelings of anger towards Jordana and can only focus on one thing - her yin’s presence.
Cole would be the one trying to reason with Jay if Nya wasn’t already doing so by the time he realised who it was that was curled protectively over Jordana. He is the first to Nya’s side though, holding himself back, putting the others before him as he always does. He can’t get between Nya and Jay as much as he wants to tell Jay that him being his best friend is a good enough reason to calm down and have their long overdue reunion, but he can help her try to convince him that their relationship suffices as a reason. Whatever brings his brother back and makes his sister feel at ease.
Kai will always grasp at whatever opportunity he is given to bring one of his siblings back. Compete in a dodgy tournament? Done. Release a dangerous criminal and steal a powerful artifact? You fucking know it. So to him Jay still being here represents an opportunity. One that he will let uproot the quiet acceptance that had let him cope with the news of his brother’s death. Up until this point, Kai is the one who has coped the best with Jay’s passing and is the one that Jordana feels the most comfortable with. This event changes that.
Lloyd is the last to act. He’s far too caught up on what destiny wants from him, their fate to save the world, and a perpetual necessity to keep moving forwards that he struggles to re-evaluate Jay’s death from something he can’t do anything about to something he should do something about. It’s easy enough when Jay’s dead dead. In that case, Lloyd knows that he should keep mentoring his students, keep training, keep preparing for what comes next. Now that Jay’s not quite dead, he has to change his plans. He can’t just focus on finding Arin anymore. And it certainly isn’t that Lloyd wants Jay to be dead, that’s his brother, but some part of him thinks that it’d be easier if he was. He’s the most unsure when approaching Jay, doubting their ability to properly bring him back.
Zane is not there for the initial reveal. He will get to see Jay in his own time, but Zane is an avoidant type when it comes to his problems. Jordana sparsely sees him at all until he finds out about Jay’s presence because, to Zane, if he isn’t around her then he doesn’t have to acknowledge that his brother is dead and that she has his element.
Sora is definitely the one most concerned with Jordana. She’s just spent the last week telling Jordana that this element is her own, the same way Lloyd told her when she thought her Technology element was given by Riyu, and now it undeniably is not just Jordana’s. Because the previous master of lightning is there, using it right now. She should feel happy for her mentors that their friend is alive, but mostly she feels dreadful foreboding at what this means for Jordana.
Wyldfyre thinks that’s a sick ass dragon and wants to know how to use her element to do something like that.
Why did Nya try to kill Jordana?
She wasn’t trying to kill Jordana. Probably. It’s hard to say, ok, but (without spoiling too much) Jordana has experience with feeling like her life is in immediate danger. A lot of this comes from Ras; seeing him murder the old master of lightning only for her to become the new one puts her in a terrifying position, knowing just how easily he could get rid of her without a care in the world. This means that she perceives Nya’s overwhelming rage as a threat to her life.
So, why is Nya acting so aggressively towards Jordana? A villain has her fiance’s element (which means her fiance is dead) and, against Nya’s wishes, has followed them back to their home, where that same villain is now being taught exactly how to replace her fiance. Jordana’s fear just makes Nya feel worse - she’d rather Jordana fought back and played her part as a villain. Deep down, she knows that it’s probably not Jordana’s fault, that this kid isn’t to blame and could honestly quite do with someone on her side for once, but Nya wants someone to blame, and there’s no one else around to be that scapegoat but Jordana. If only Jordana would act in a way so that Nya could truly feel it was deserved.

“Once upon a time, there was a rich merchant, a brave and kind man, who after losing his beloved wife, lived on for the good of his six children.” The storyteller flipped the page. “Three boys, three girls, who filled the house with laughter and chatter.”
Giggles coming from four children, laid across from the maiden. “Sounds a lot like you four!” She joked before going back to the page.
“The man had a fleet of three ships, the siren, triton, and the largest, leviathan.” The children scoot upwards to look at the drawings of the boats.
“They were stuffed with the finest wares in the land, from jewels, to fabrics and mead. One evening while on their way back to port, a violent storm had appeared. Lighting tore their sails, snapped their masts, the bottom of the ocean sparkled with the jewels and golds that were swallowed up forever.” The children frowned.
“Gone within the month, the merchant and his children were forced to leave their home.” She flipped the page once again.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You rolled your eyes as you listened to your siblings complain about moving to the countryside and having to give up their best valuables.
Your shoes quietly clacked on the wood as you made your way towards the statue of your mother, your father had made after her death. You sighed as you knelt down and placed flowers in front of the statue.
“There mother, we have to start a new life...” You sighed as you stared at the statue. “There you are y/n.” You turned to face your father who smiled sadly at you and the statue. “Would she have liked the countryside?” You asked, hugging your father as you both admired her one last time. “She would’ve loved it..” He kissed the top of your head.
“Then, I'm sure I'll love it too!” You smiled as he guided you both towards the carriages filled with the belongings you were able to keep.
It was hard to get used to the countryside for a few weeks before you fell into a routine. You tied an apron around your waist before walking up the stairs to your older sister’s bedroom and began knocking. “Get up you two, it’s your turn to help in the garden!” You kept knocking.
“Marie has fallen ill, we’ll take our breakfast in bed..” Anne, the oldest, said, opening the door, her skin dewy with sweat. “Absolutely not, you two are going to help in the garden!” You scoffed and marched in.
Marie laughed and fanned herself. “I’d rather die..” You rolled your eyes and dragged her upwards into a sitting motion.
“Too bad, I'll come back if you both aren’t down in two minutes.” You threatened, walking into the garden, you walked over to the laundry line and hung the wet clothing.
“Defeated, pierced by arrows, the young man left the battle, taking refuge in the forest.” You glanced up and smiled as your brother, Thomas, sat in the empty carriage seat, writing a story in his notebook.
“How’s it going?” You motioned for his notebook, he sighs and tosses it to the side. “Horrible, too realistic.” He scoffed, making you smile as he walked over and helped pin the clothes to the line.
You both turned as your father cheered from his horse, riding up to the cottage with a wide smile. You both walked over towards him.
“Gather everyone, I have some news!” He cheered.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“They were happy to see me at the shipping offices, Dumont was charming, his eldest daughter married a count!” He updated, looking at his two oldest daughters.
“It could’ve been me!” Marie sighed. “But the big news is, the mermaid, which was your mother’s favorite ship, has been found!” You looked shocked at his new, leaning forward to hear properly.
“She was drifting off the coast, and brought back into port.” Your father announced,
“And the goods onboard?” Your brother questioned, “Intact!” Your siblings cheered, knowing they could return to their typical uppity lives.
“Children, I think we’re saved!” he chuckled as they cheered, not noticing your somber attitude. “Lets go pack our bags! No, we could burn them out here!” Anne clapped, happily.
“I feel tingling, I'm alive again father!” Marie ran over and kissed your father’s cheek.
“We can’t go back into town in this statute, you need to visit the shops, we need to make a list!” Anne squealed as she and Marie ran for parchment.
“You can come to town with me, show off my successor to dumont!” Your father told Henry, the oldest.
“I won’t let you down!” They both smiled. “At last, the young man's enemies were defeated, the young man returned triumphant, cheered on by his people!” Your family all smiled at thomas’ ending.
You quickly walked outside to tend to the garden while your sister’s wrote down a list.
Your father noticed as you walked away. He quickly followed and sighed as he watched you quietly pick the vegetables. “What’s the matter with you, are you sulking?” He asked, watching as you dug up a pumpkin. You stood up and faced your father.
“Clearly, if a girl is sad, she sulks, if a girl is happy, she’s mad!” You ranted to your father, placing the pumpkin in his arms and you collected the fruits.
“Well what do you want us to believe, everyone but you is happy.” He sets down the pumpkin before squatting down next to you.
“I’d like to stay here longer. I like the countryside; it’s peaceful, no judgment.” You sighed.
“We came to this house to bury our sorrows, our lives aren’t meant to be here..”
“We both know what will happen, Henry will go back to the thugs he calls his friends, Marie and Anne will go out every evening to find husbands and you’ll be tied to your work again..” You sighed, standing up.
“Y/n, one of these days we’ll go our separate ways, even you will grow up and want to move away.” Your father explained.
Before anymore could be said, your sisters interrupted with the paper.
“Don’t forget a thing, Marie can’t bare it!” Anne sighed, swatting flies away. Your father nods before turning to you. “And what do you want?” He questioned, you sighed and glanced over the garden before deciding. “A rose, I can’t seem to grow any here, no matter how hard I try too!” He nods at your request.
“Very well, I shall return with the items.” Your father walked towards his horse where Henry stood, waiting for him.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“The men arrived at the port to find problems with their wealth; the father has signed the riches over to pay off the family’s debt.” The children gasped.
“Oh no!” The little girl sighed.
“The father had stopped his son from lashing out on the innocent dumont, the eldest stormed off in a fit of rage, leaving the father to follow after him; while searching the father had stumbled into one of the past suitors who pinned after the youngest hand in marriage.”
“Orion Kingsley, highly respected for his time in the war, though now he was considered amongst the town's thugs.” The children’s interest peaked as the illustration showed the man.
“Is he gonna take his daughter away?” The youngest gasped at the thought. “Well, we’re still in the beginning so who knows.” The storyteller shrugged.
“He questioned the father about his youngest and offered to take her off his hands for a hefty amount but the father refused and continued to try and find his son.”
“After hours of searching, the father left defeated. He let his horse trot to the cottage while he had dozed off for a bit; Somehow while he slept the horse had taken a wrong turn and the pair ended up in front of an abandoned palace.” The storyteller laughed as the children tucked themselves under their blankets tighter.
“The doors eerily opened up by themselves. The father walked in cautiously, he made his way to a dining hall, on the table laid a lavish dinner of all sorts of food, the candles lit up showing the table covered in goods, the man quickly dug in, starved from the ride.”
“Once the man had finished his dinner, he noticed a corner of the room had lit up, it was a huge chest, he opened and to his surprise it had all the things he needed from the list, minus the rose. The father took the items and made his way out of the palace but stopped as he spotted roses leading to a garden, he quickly walked over and plucked one from the ground, and BOOM!” The storyteller slammed the book, scaring the children.
“A giant soldier jumped in front of the man, the father scrambled, as he went to run away he bumped into a dark figure that towered over him.”
“He yelled at man for being selfish, for the man's punishment he was to return before morning and stay there till his death; A life for a rose..”
The kids gasped.
“If you do not return to me by sunrise, I will go after your family, one by one and I will save your youngest for last, since she is most dear to you! The beast threatened the man..” The storyteller showed the drawings of the man cowering under the beast.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“A story of a beast and a rose? It doesn’t make sense.” Thomas questioned. “How do you explain that? It’s real isn’t it!” Your father motioned over to the chest with everything.
“It’s all our fault! It’s all our fault-!” Marie repeated, Anne smacked her arm. “We’re not the ones who asked for a rose.” Anne motioned towards your frozen state, beside your father.
“It’s no one's fault!” Henry argued back. “Enough! I have no idea who that beast is but I know I must return to the palace in a few hours..”  Your father sighed, staring at the rose on the table.
“What will he do to you?” The youngest son, Flynn asked. “I have no idea, he said a life for a rose..” You didn’t need to look up to feel your siblings stare, silently blaming you.
“And if you don’t return?” You questioned. “It’s over for all of us…” You all stared at the rose on the table, not knowing what to do next.
The next day had arrived, all of your siblings stayed up to see your father off for the last time, you sulked in your room.
A knock brought you out of your thoughts, in walked your father. “Y/n..” He started, “I know what they all are thinking..” You stared out your small window.
“What do you mean?” Your father asked. “Mother died, giving birth to me..” You turned to face your father. “I won’t let them blame me for yours too!” Before your father could realize your words you quickly ran out of your room, locking him inside by placing a chair against the knob.
“Y/n! Let me out, Y/N!” Your father called out, Henry looked between you and your siblings who rushed upstairs to let your father out.
He hesitated, not knowing where to run after. You grabbed your coat that hung up by the door. “Don’t forget me!” You called out before running to take your father’s horse.
As you rode off, you heard your father call out for you but got stopped by your brothers.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
As you approached the woods, you leaned down to the horse. “A life for a rose.” You watched as the horse's pupils dilated before taking off into the forest.
You tried to shield yourself as he passed through sharp branches, you had managed to gain scratches on your arms. After a bumpy ride you had finally arrived at the abandoned palace your father had stumbled onto.
You hopped off the horse and walked to find the entrance of the palace, while exploring you took note of the amount of overgrown vines there were covering the building and a statue in the fountain. As you walked up the steps leading to the doors.
The big doors opened in front of you. You hesitated before walking in, the doors shut making you jump before looking around.
You followed the vines that lead up to stairs, on the top of the stairs was a door that had a bridge leading to a room, you walked into the room and looked around, the ceiling was covered in rose vines, the four bed posts were covered as well.
You looked to your left and saw a pond of water in a cove looking area.
“A life for a rose..” A voice spoke out of nowhere, making you look around for the source.
After failing to do so you walked over to the bed that had a fur blanket on top, you ran your hand through the fur. You looked up and stood shocked, a lavender dress with swirls embroidered into the fabric. You reached your hand out to touch it but pulled your hand back.
You avoid looking at your scratched up hand, you sighed before turning to the water and walked over.
Swirls appeared in the water, you leaned closer and dipped your hand into the water, within moments, you pulled your hands out to see them healed, no traces of scratches.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“The girl was ready to die with the first strike of the bell, as she looked around the beasts palace, a noise echoed through her body; Her heartbeat.” The drawing in the book showed a girl in the middle of a ballroom of sorts, in a lavender dress with jewels across her neck.
The second drawing showed the girl lifting a curtain, behind her stood a beast in the shadow on the fabric.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You quietly walked into the dining hall and looked around for anyone and held your breath as you heard footsteps behind you.
“My name is y/n, i’ve come to exchange my life rather  than my father’s..” You explained to whoever stood behind you. “Seat yourself.” The gruff voice spoke.
You noticed two chairs, one on each end of the table. You walked to the chair near the fireplace and sat down, not looking up to your now captor.
He walked behind your chair and spoke, “Eat, when you have regained your strength, you will be able to walk wherever you want on my domain; but when night has fallen I forbid you to leave the palace,” He told you, leaning in as you picked up a sliced potato.
“If I must die, let it be now.” Your eyes watered up. “You’re braver than your father; Each evening at seven bells precisely, you must be here, do not think of escaping. The forest will close in on you.” You agreed, shakily.
As you listened to his terms, you looked towards the silverware gasped, a scared and bruised hand was next to your plate. You turned to look at him but he was nowhere to be seen, scared you ran back to the room for the night.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“Shall I stop?” The storyteller questioned, looking over at the children.
“No!”
“We need to hear what happened next!”
“I can’t possibly go to bed now, she barely met the beast!”
“Read more please, it’s sad she’s all alone, poor girl.” The storyteller chuckled. “It’s true she was all alone now; As she walked up the stairway, the girl understood for the first time, she was spending the night away from her family and home. What she did not know was that, living in the palace, the beast had servants living in the palace, she didn’t know but they were going to be very helpful.” The kids perked up.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You sighed as you walked into your bedroom and placed the candle by your bedside and laid down on the bed, it was surprisingly soft and comfortable, it hadn’t taken much time before you fell asleep.
You woke up in your dream, you watched as two girls stared at themselves in a mirror and laughed as a group of hunters returned.
“They’re back!” One cheered. “Shouting, excited and dirty.” The other sighed, you watched as the pair walked over to the men.
You watched as one of the girls smiled and ran towards her husband and kissed him, his friends quickly approached and grabbed him from her.
“Take your dirty hands off her!”
“Woah!”
“Ah yes my friend, no stag, no prize for you!” One of them chuckled. The man's wife scoffed, “Are you still after that stag?” The man nodded at his wife. “I’ve hunted it for years, but I know I'm near, luda.” She sighed. “What better trophy, after you?” He grins at the woman.
“He plans on using the cut on the stag.” Luda’s eyes widened at the news. “Ay! I’m thirsty, let's get a drink!” The man’s wife sighed before following the group.
You watched as the room around you changed, it was the room you were staying in but without the rose vines everywhere.
You watched as luda got her hair brushed by a servant. “I mean, he could’ve come back and spent some time with me. I’ve had it.” She sighed, you looked over as the doors opened up. The man from earlier walked in, nodding as the servant excused herself and left the room.
He walked up behind the woman and kissed up her neck, she sighed and turned to look at her husband.
“You smell of game...” He pulled away and stared down at the woman, he picked her up and carried her to the bed and placed her down before kissing her once more.
“My love, I have something to ask of you..” You watched as he sat up to listen to his wife. “I want you to stop hunting that beast.” He paused before sighing.
“What for?” He questioned.
“I’ve had enough, I've been lonely while you’ve gone hunting..here, without you..” She played with the kefta he wore.
“Agreed, but on one condition.” She nods at his words. “Give me a child of our own.” She smiled softly at him.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You woke up, as you went to wipe your eyes of sleep; you jumped at the sight of a scarred man by your bed, you did a double take but by the second glance he was gone.
You quickly sat up and looked around the room, a new dress sat in the corner. A turquoise dress with a gold belt. You slowly rose out of your bed and walked over to examine it.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“The girl waited for hours in her room before leaving. She feared seeing the beast jump out from the shadows. But her curiosity was far more stronger than her fear. She wanted to explore the grounds that she is now bound too.” The kids listened as the storyteller flipped the page, only a few yawning before shaking themselves awake.
“A deer had caught her attention, it stopped and stared back at her, almost as if it wanted her to follow, luckily she did so, the deer guided her to a secluded garden, a stone statue in the middle of it all. She walked closer and brushed away the rose petals that had fallen on to the statue’s face.” The storyteller flipped the page to continue.
“To the girl's surprise, it was the same woman as she had seen in her dream, “luda” as the people called her.” The kids gasped.
“The girl froze up as you noticed the facial features were the same. “Luda?” she called out, stood back and stared as if luda rose from the stone; Some years or centuries even, another woman had lived, loved and died in the cursed palace.”
“Why me? Why do you haunt my dreams?” The girl asked, shaking at her discovery. Without a second thought the girl ran back to her room and waited til dinner with her mysterious jailer.”
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“You’re late!” You sighed and sat down in the chair, staring at your hands.
“Do you like your new dress?” He asked, pacing behind her chair. “Never come into that room again.” You said coldly, he scoffed.
“May I remind you who makes the rules here?” He said, walking to the chair across the table and sat with his back to you.
“You watched me sleep!” You scoffed at him. “Enough, eat.” He commanded.
“You’re not eating?” You questioned, picking up your fork. “I said to eat.” He sighed.
 “May I speak or am I suppose to eat in silence like a child?” You inquired. “That’s what you are, an arrogant child.” He remarked. “A child that you watched sleep.” You said before taking a bite of your food.
“You talk too much!” He hissed.
“I know it pleases you, that I'm filling the emptiness..” You smirked into your cup. He scoffs.
“I do have a question though...whose place is this?” He sighed. “Everything here belongs to me.”
You both went back and forth. “Resist me all you want, but you will be mine!” He stated before storming out of the dinning hall. You rolled your eyes at him.
After dinner you made your way to your bedroom, you jumped as a figure stood in your room, a woman with ginger hair.
“Who are you?” you asked, slightly confused. “Um, you aren’t suppose to be back early...i’m genya i’m a servant to your kidnapper..” She introduces herself to you, holding something behind her back.
“How do I know you're not lying to me?” You question, ready to throw the candle if need be. “Uh, you traded places with your father!” She said, holding her hands up to show she was innocent and didn’t mean any harm.
“I just came by to leave you this, I saw on your father’s list he had perfume.” She handed you a tiny bottle of perfume, you looked at the bottle and shook your head and handed it back. “My sister’s requested that, i only asked for a rose but you see how that ended..” You awkwardly chuckled before walking to your bed and sat down.
“Is there anything you’d like to keep you entertained, trust me i know how boring it gets here..” You both chuckled. “I like reading, if that helps..” Genya nodded at the information you had given her.
“I should probably let you rest now, but i’ll keep that in mind..” You nodded and waved as genya walked out of your room.
Once she was gone, you got undressed and slept in your underclothing.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You looked around and quickly realized, you were in another dream, you looked around to see a ball room filled with people. You watched as luda reached out for the man’s hand.
“My friends, today is a great day, the palace will finally have an heir.” You watched as the people around you clapped at the news. The music started to play, luda and her husband both started to dance around the ballroom.
“What are you thinking of?” Luda questioned.
“The first time we met, by the river.” He smiled. “You were by the edge, undressing.” Luda snickered as her husband got flustered. “You were about to drown.” He quipped back. “I swim better than you!” She teased, you watched as the pair smoothly continued.
“And if we went back to our room?” He smirked, luda sighed. “Don’t forget your promise.” “Which one?” She gave him a stern look.
“The stag, aleksander.” You perked up, finally knowing the husband’s name.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Once you had woken up you got dressed in a new gown, today it was a dark blue, with long sleeves. Once dressed, you noticed a book on the vanity. You walked over and picked it up.
It had a piece of parchment on the front.
‘Thought you’d like to read, one of David's favorites.’
(David is another servant to him..) - Genya
You smiled down at the note and looked through the book and took it with you outside.
After a few hours of reading on the steps, you got up and looked around the palace some more.
You smiled as you saw red hair hide away as you turned a corner, you walked closer and tapped Genya's shoulder.
“Thank you for the book! I love it so far!” Genya smiled at you. “I’m glad, sadly the books are the only escape for those of us trapped here..” You nodded as you both walked up more steps, your attention was directed to a group of others laughing as they cooked or messed about.
“How many are trapped here?” You asked, genya sighed. “Several, stuck here to deal with his temper..” She motions for your kidnapper.
“But ignore that, most of us are used to his temper, we actually were excited when we heard a lady had entered the palace.” She gently bumps your elbows together.
“Well if he chooses to keep me alive, i’ll gladly spend time with you all here, seems peaceful away from him.” You both chuckled.

For once you were earlier than him to the dining hall, you sat quietly sipping on porridge.
As the bell rang out you heard rushed footsteps into the room. You kept your eyes low and watched as the bottom of his coat trailed behind him; He walked over and stood behind your chair. “I’d like to apologize for myself last night, You were right...you do fill an immense emptiness..Do you like my gifts?” He asked, raising a hand towards you.
He sighed when you didn’t respond. “Why don’t you answer me?” He questions.
“I miss my family..” You answered. He scoffs before moving towards his turned chair.
“Forget them! They’re gone, you live with me now” He stopped, besides your chair.
“It may be helpful for you to turn your back on the past but I can’t.”
“What do you know about me?” He waited before answering. “Nothing!” “Nothing, you’re right..” You sighed, placing down your spoon.
“I’ll make you a deal, a few hours with my family..” You trailed off.
“And for what?” He questioned. You stared at your feet. “A dance; in exchange you let me see them..” You proposed, thinking back to your dream.
He sighed. “You’re treating me like a beggar.”
“I can lead if you’re afraid.” You offered, he scoffed and with a wave of his scarred hand, your eyes were covered by darkness.
Being somewhat of a gentleman, he guided you to the abandoned ballroom and walked you both to the middle before letting go of your hands.
You did a slight curtsy and held up your hand. Unbeknown to you he bowed back before taking your soft palm in his and placed the other on your waist.
You prayed to the saints you wouldn’t step on his feet or your dress, saints know how embarrassed you’d be.
You quietly moved your other hand up to place it on his chest, perfectly aligned to his heart.
The two of you waltzed around the ballroom, your gown brushing away stray leaves on the floor. You leaned in closer to him. “You lead.” Without a beat he started dancing with you once more.
 - - - - - - - - - - - -
“The girl felt as if she had stepped back into the dream as they waltzed around.” The kids smiled and got closer as the page showed an illustration of a pair dancing and with the girl blindfolded with some kind of shadow thing.
“They’re in love!” One of the children declared with a grin.
“Not quite yet; For the first time since being taken away the girl felt at peace with him, as he moved them around she gently laid down her head on his chest, his heart fluttered at the sight of the girl.” The storyteller grinned.
“Does she love him yet?” Another questioned. “Let’s keep reading, shall we?” The kids nodded.
 - - - - - - - - - - - -
“Do you think you could love me?” He questioned, making you snap your eyes open and turn to face him.
Pushing him away, you huffed. “We made a deal…keep your promise..” you stepped back.
Unbeknown to you, he stepped forward towards you. “It’s been a while since I've had to promise something.”
Being upset, you let out a scoffed. “You dress yourself in fine clothing to cover up that you’re just a cruel and lonely beast that disgusts anyone!”
You could hear his footsteps leave the room, leaving you alone with a blindfold of darkness.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
It wasn’t till hours later that genya noticed your absence and while searching the palace that she helped guide you to your room for the night.
Once you knew genya was gone, you got up from the small vanity and opened the door and walked out to the hallway and explored.
As you roamed the palace, you had noticed as you approached the south wing, it had gotten messier.
You could hear two voices coming from a room.
“Just let her breathe for once!” It was genya.
“I have to kill her genya..”
“..you what?” Genya let out a gasp at his words.
Before you could hear more, you slowly backed away. Your blood ran cold as your back touched a wooden frame, you turned your head to look and froze at the portrait.
It was an old painting of luda and aleksander with their faces slashed out. The poor couple must’ve had the same fate..
You swallowed the scream you desperately wanted to let out and ran to the main hall where you had first stepped foot in.
As you stepped outside you quickly found your horse. After hopping on you had hoped for a way out of the hell you had been trapped in.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
A frantic David brusted through the doors making genya jump.
“What’s the matter david?”
David panted, clearly frantic at his news. “She’s left the palace..”
Genya snapped her head towards the beast who clenched his jaw before storming down to the main hall to find you, it was impossible for you to escape him now.
As you rode your horse through the frozen over lake, you panicked as growling came behind you, with a single glance you felt your hands start to shake, volcra.
Without noticing your horse bucked you off, making you fall onto the ice, you were too panicked to hear it cracking under you.
As you went to block yourself from a volcra that came sweeping down, a slash cut it in half.
You watched as dead volcra dropped around you.
You gasped as your savior straddle your legs, your eyes widened, it was aleksander…he was much more scarred then he was in your dreams.
“Now you know who I am;” He leaned in closer towards your face.
“Tell me again, how i disgust you.” You panted, trying to catch your breath as he leaned forwards, his eyes drifting towards your lips.
As he reached your lips the ice beneath you broke, dropping you into the freezing water.
Unlucky your dress had only weighed you down, you closed your eyes that felt heavy.
Aleksander sighed and quickly reached his hand into the water and pulled you up by your bodice.
He quickly took off his winter cape and wrapped you up and carried you back to the palace.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“The beast gently laid her down on her bed, demanding his servants to help aid the girl.” The children gasped as they listened.
“Is she gonna be alright?” The smallest of the group asked, clutching onto the blanket sprawled out on their lap.
“Possibly?” The storyteller grinned.
“Possibly?!” The oldest squawked.
“You all should really get to bed now…it is pretty late…” The storyteller teased the children by closing the book and stood up from the chair.
“NOW!?”
“WHAT?”
“NO!”
“I won’t be able to sleep!” Their protests made the storyteller laugh before raising their hands in surrender and sat back down.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You groaned as you opened your eyes to see the beast’s back towards you.
Due to the shock, you had a hard time recalling the moments before, you shook your head as Aleksander's face popped into your head.
You did manage to spot genya with the beast, the pair talking in hushed tones.
Genya smiled soft;y at you, noticing how you sat yourself up a tad.
Genya motioned in your direction with her chin.
You grasped the blanket in shock, it hadn’t been your memories clashing together, it really was aleksander in front of you.
“Leave us be for now genya..” The redhead nodded before leaving the room after placing down some more books.
Aleksander turned to you, if you hadn’t looked up at him, you wouldn’t have noticed the tint of concern in his dark eyes.
“How are you feeling?”
“Alright..” You mumbled back.
“That’s good..” He said as he rolled up his shirt, you let out a soft gasp at his forearms.
They had long open scratches on each arm, it was from the volcra..
“Thank you for saving me..”
Aleksander scoffed, moving his hand to hold pressure to his wounds, he had directed his attention to you that the painful stings were hardly there for him.
As he sat down on the vanity chair, you slowly moved from your bed and walked over to the pond of water and grabbed a cloth from the side and soaked it before ringing it out and walked over to aleksander, who had zoned out, his jaw still tensed.
You gently took hold of his arm before dapping the cloth onto the wound.
Aleksander hissed and went to yank his arm away. You huffed and tugged it back before dapping the cloth again.
“That hurts!” He hissed, in pain. His face closer to yours.
“If you stay still, it won’t sting as bad!” You hardened your features and stared at him, keeping the same distance.
Aleksander sighed and stuck out his other arm for you.
After re-soaking the cloth, you softly dapped the outside of his scratches. You both stayed silent. “Thank you again..” You spoke softly, watching how much pressure you placed on the wound.
“You’re welcome..”
- - - - - - - - - - - -
As the week passed, aleksander had genya and healers constantly check your health after the incident; in a panic aleksander had placed you on bed rest, in case you had harmed your bones somehow.
The days you had spent lounging in your bed, reading or talking with the others.
You perked up as the door creaked open, aleksander walked in, carrying in two plates of food. You had taken note of how softer he had become with you being injured, for a peculiar reason it had warmed your heart a bit.
“What’s for tonight?” You questioned, placing your book off to the side as aleksander handed you a plate and sat down in front of you.
“Lamb with potatoes..your favorite..” He joked.
You lifted your head letting out a small laugh.
“Yeah, love when it's scalloped too..” You teased, making aleksander grow a tiny smirk before taking a bite of his food.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Aleksander stood on his balcony, watching as you and David strolled through the garden, occasionally stopping to feed the birds.
He watched with a small smile growing on his face as you fell into the snow from bumping into David's side a bit too hard.
He froze as he noticed his own expression, genya glanced over at him.
“I think I wanna do something for her..but what?” Aleksander questioned.
Genya smiled at his words.
“Books.” Genya trailed off.
Aleksander sent genya a confused look. “She likes books, and I believe you have just a room for her.”
He grinned back at genya before nodding to himself.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“Close your eyes…” You gave aleksander a weary look as you closed your eyes.
“Don’t bump me into anything please..” You pleaded, making aleksander chuckle before gently taking your hands and guided you down a hall. “I’ll try, very big on the try..” he grinned as you scrunched your nose up.
“I wanted to show you something..” He led you inside his library.
He left you in the middle of the room before moving to open the long curtains, you scrunched up as the light hit your face.
Aleksander glanced around the room before nodding to himself, he turned back to you and smiled.
“You can open your eyes now.”
Slowly you blinked your eyes, lifting your hand, trying to adjust your eyes to the light.
You gasped as you looked around you, it was a filled library.
“Oh my, it’s beautiful..” You admired the room, glancing everywhere.
“Then it’s yours, you can visit it anytime you want.” You glanced over to aleksander and gave him a smile.
“Thank you, this has to be the nicest thing someone’s done for me!”
Aleksander watched you explore the room with a subtle smile on his face.
“She could be the one..” Feydor smiled at Genya, who leaned against the doorway as you led aleksander to a bookshelf.
“I hope it’s her, he looks happier with her near..” Genya smiled.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“Aww, he cares for her now!” The oldest girl grinned.
“A whole room?! For herself?” The youngest sat on their bed, mouth opened in shock at the drawing of the room.
“The girl and the beast slowly grew closer, even developing feelings, they would constantly be found in the library, the girl reading to the prince often. The girl had realized her new found feelings one day while the pair had gone on a walk through the palace grounds, the beast had given her his kefta to help keep her warm.” The storyteller smiled as the children were in awe of the story.
“The Beast had gladly accepted an invitation to have a dance with the girl. Each had spent hours preparing, knowing it'd be the night their feelings for one another would change. The girl had worn a beautiful ball gown chosen by genya.” The drawing on the paper had shown the girl in a black ball gown and her hair done.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“You clean up pretty well..” You teased aleksander as you walked down the steps into the ballroom.
“Well, you look beautiful in that dress. Genya has good taste..” You both smiled, aleksander bowed before you, in return you curtsied back before placing your hands on his shoulder and in his palm, letting him guide you both around.
You watched with a smile as the bottom of your dress swung around the floor.
You both looked at each other as you both danced around, you occasionally helped him with the dance.
“Just don’t get my toes.” You teased as he pulled you closer. “I’ll try to avoid them..” He chuckled, glading you both towards the big window where the moon hung perfectly.
You both stopped, your eyes going to the lit up sky, while Aleksander's eyes went to your bright eyes.
You glanced over and blushed as aleksander stared at you with a loving expression. You both leaned in closer to one another.
Holding your breath as you could feel his breath on your lips, both of you closing your eyes as you leaned in further.
You both stopped as a bunch of whispers came from the doorway. You both pulled away, chuckling and feeling flustered.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Aleksander stood in the corridor of the library and watched as you sat peacefully in front of the fireplace, reading and occasionally stopping to get a sip of tea Genya had brought you earlier.
As footsteps approached, you glanced up from your book and smiled at aleksander. “Hello, care to join me?” He nodded at your words, sitting down beside you.
“What’s this story about?” Aleksander questioned, scooting closer to you.
“Maiden in the tower, it’s about this young girl who was kidnapped as a child, by this lady who was secretly thousands of years old. The girl had just found out she’s apparently her kingdom’s lost princess..” You explained the story as you turned the page to continue on.
As you read the reunion of the maiden and her family, Aleksander's eyes wandered from the page to the side of your face that held a bit of sadness.
He hated seeing you like that, knowing it was his fault you were separated from your family. Your eyes continued to move downwards across the page.
Aleksander sighed and placed his hand and lowered the book, gaining your attention.
“Y/n,” Aleksander sighed as he cut himself off.
“Yes?” You questioned, tilting your head a bit.
“I’ll let you return to your family on one last deal..” Your eyes widened at his words.
“What kind of deal?” You questioned, scooting closer to him.
“Promise you’ll never forget about me, I truly wished I had met you under different circumstances..” Aleksander sighed, placing his hand on your cheek, making you lean into his hand.
“I won’t, you were the first who put up with my “childish” self..” You teased, a few tears spilling from your eyes, realizing this was your goodbye.
“Here, this is for you.” He handed you a small necklace with a small rose on it. You smiled at the necklace and put it on, before pouncing forwards and tackled him into a hug.
“I’ll always remember you aleksander.” You hugged him, making the beast grunt at the strength of your hug, he wrapped his arms around you one last time before letting you go.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You could hardly contain your enjoyment, after months of being apart, you’d finally get to be with your family, it did pain you to leave the palace and everyone behind.
As the horse trotted up to the house, you noticed the boarded up windows, you hopped off your horse and walked closer to the house.
Once closer the door swung open, revealing henry. He tugged you inside the house before hugging you.
The sound of the door had alerted the other, making them rush to see what had happened. “y/n..” Thomas said in disbelief.
You smiled and took off Aleksander's kefta and hung it on the coat rack. Unbeknown to you each of your brothers eyed your dress but stayed quiet.
Your eyes drifted towards the messy table, covered in maps, old food and weapons.
You scoffed and turned to your brothers. “Look at this mess, what are you doing with those weapons?”
The youngest let out a scoff.
“Ask henry..” Tristan sighed, looking over to the oldest who huffed at him. “Be quiet and go back to your post.”
“My post?” He questioned.
“HIs post?” You looked at your brother with wide eyes before shaking your head.
“So, you’re playing general now, are you?” Tristan egged on.
“Enough, just go back over there.” Thomas sighed, stepping between the pair.
“Stop taking sides, you big coward!” Thomas scoffed and went to swing but you and henry stopped both boys.
“Look at yourselves!” You called out to the pair, making them stop. “Here, y/n, follow me.” Henry said, walking up the stairs.
You followed shortly behind. Once on the top of the stairs, Henry gestured towards your sister's shared room.
You nodded and opened the door quietly.
“I just know they’re going to sell us to dirty sailors to pay Henry's debt!” Anne said, groaning hidden behind their loveseat.
“We’ll just say we don’t know how to clean-!” Marie tried reassuring her but the pair froze as they heard your footsteps.
Marie’s eyes popped over the seat and quickly widened at the sight of you.
“Anne…” Marie gasped out.
“What?” She whispered back, peeking her eyes over the seat too.
“it’s y/n’s ghost, she’s come back to haunt us!” Marie cried out.
“Maybe we’re dreaming still?” Anne questioned, watching you intensely. “It’s not a dream, i’ve come back with one last message..my dear sisters i loved you both truly.” You played into their frantic state.
“Even dead, she’s pretty..” Marie whispered out.
“I wanted you to know, i alway thought about you two..” You slowly walked closer to them.
“We thought about you everyday too!”
“It’s Anne's fault, she made me take your room..” Marie pointed subtly to the oldest sister.
You gasped and jumped on the loveseat in front of them. “You what?!” They screamed and jumped back.
You chuckled and looked at the both of them with a smile, “Where’s father?” You questioned, looking in between them.
“...since you left, he’s gotten incredibly tired, hasn’t woken up since..” Anne updated you.
You quickly rushed across the hall towards your father’s room.
You gasped as he laid in his bed, deeply asleep. You walked closer and held his hand.
“Father..I'm home now, you can wake up now..” You whispered to him, but nothing happened.
You let your tears fall, you carefully laid your head beside his on the other pillow and cried as you hoped he’d wake up.
While you fell asleep upstairs, Henry picked off a golden shank button on Aleksander's kefta. “This is worth hundreds, i could sell this and rid us of my debt!” Henry smirked, placing the button in his pocket.
“Not that, I forbid you!” Tristan protested, standing in front of the door. Henry sighed and looked at Thomas, who looked away. Henry pulled the button from his pocket.
Henry nodded to himself and tossed the button and caught it, he swiftly punched Tristan, making him pass out, Thomas quickly caught the younger brother and dragged him away from the door, they both left him laying on the ground before walking outside.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You looked around and quickly spotted a glowing stag across the lake from where you stood.
“Look at her glossy coat..” You jumped and turned behind you to see the same group aleksander had hung out with in previous dreams.
“It’s finally her time.” One smirked, aleksander scoffed and raised a hand.
“She’s mine alright.” They all stepped back as he watched the animal move around before moving his hands.
The stag froze and looked in his direction before sprinting away.
Aleksander groaned before quickly chasing behind it.
You watched as the animal ran and was caught in the palace garden. You watched as aleksander stood in front of the others and hopped off his horse and walked closer to the animal.
He quickly raised his hands up and used the cut, at the moment it all had clicked in your head.
You watched as the stag laid on the ground, aleksander approached the stag and quickly froze as the animal revealed itself, there laid luda, a severe cut on her stomach.
You gasped at the sight. “Luda!” Aleksander yelled, running towards her.
She laid on the ground, she slowly raised a hand up to his face and gave him a tired smile. “You didn’t know any better..aleksander.” She shakily inhaled.
Aleksander weeped as his wife died in his arms. “I didn’t mean for this to happen..” He held her close.
You noticed how the sky quickly turned gray and stormy.
“Saints, forgive him, for he didn’t know.” You watched as aleksander’s friends where attacked by volcra, you turned around to face aleksander and luda and watched as volcra started to swoop down and attack him, earing brutal scars to his face and exposed body.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Thomas and henry stood in the snowy forest, waiting for orion to arrive to make a deal.
“You are betraying y/n..” Thomas paced back and fourth.
“I’m saving us, she’ll understand.” Henry’s expresson was stoic as he looked around the forest.
Before thomas could say anymore, Orion rode up on his horse, his men following shortly behind.
“What are you doing here, I thought we were meeting at your little shabby shack.” Orion smirked at the brothers.
“I brought my handsome men for your sisters..” He motioned towards his men which were known as the towns laziest drunks.
“I have a deal to make with you.” Henry dug the button out of his pocket.
“No more deals with you..” Orion sneered.
As orion and his men went to leave, henry moved towards them more.
“I’ll give you my sister..” Thomas froze at his brother’s words.
Orion turned to face henry, a smirk on his face. “Which sister are you talking about?”
Henry swallowed harshly, “Y/n, my family’s youngest.” he cringed as orion let out a joyus laugh.
“Perhaps, your sister could pay your debt.”
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You woke up sweating, you looked around the room and saw your father still asleep beside you, yelling came from the bottom floor.
You quickly got yourself together before walking odwnstairs and froze at the sight of orion who sat comfortably on the small couch, his filthy hands admiring your previously worn kefta.
“Ah, my bride is awake.”
Your blood ran cold at his words. “Bride?” You questioned.
Henry walked towards you, moving form where he stood against a wooden pole.
“You are to be orion’s bride to pay for this family’s debt.” henry gently grabbed your arm, you quickly yanked yourself away from him, orion scoffed and stood up from the couch and stepped closer to you.
“I refuse!” You backed up and bumped into thomas who had a stoic look on his face as he pushed you into orion’s arms.
“Not your choice!” Orion snarled in your ear as he brushed back your hair, making you cringe.
Thomas’ eyes grew wide as a glow from your necklace lit up before dying down to a slight glimmer.
“The forest..” a gruff voiced whispered, making you looked around the room and noticed the lack of orion’s men inside and out.
You took a deep breath before elbowing orion’s nose before running to your horse outside.
“That bitch!” Orion groaned, following you outside as you rode off into the forest.
You shuttered as you rode deeper into the cold forest. The sounds of horses flooded your ears as you glanced up and saw orion and his men.
In a panic, you leaned into the horse’s ear and whispered. “More than life itself.”  You leaned back and watched as the pathed opened up, you ducked as the horse sped up and ran through the prickly tress and frozen land.
As you approached the front, you eagerly hopped off your horse and ran to aleksander who stood outside the palace doors, almost if he was waiting.
He held you tightly as you huffed, tired of the journey back.
“I’ll keep you safe.” He told you, a scared hand brushing over the back of your head in comfort.
“There she is!” A voiced called out, making you jump as an arrow missed you both. Aleksander quickly lead you into the palace, you noticed the amount of people in the entrance, waiting for aleksander’s command.
“Looks like we have un wanted visitors, take care of them.” He commanded, leading you towards your room.
As you climbed the stairs to your room you caught a glance of aleksander’s grisha opening the palace doors to face the visitors.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“As the beast lead the girl away, gaston had managed to slip through the doors and followed the trail. Outside the palace, saffin commanded grisha to attack two men who approuched the stairs but pleaded for them to give mercy, the two men had kneelded and whispered a name that struck saffin’s soul.
Saffin had froze and got a look of the men and saw the similar features the two shared with the girl, she quickly allowed them to pass into the palace, once in the brothers soon found gaston’s trail.” The storyteller spoke, pausing to flip the page.
“I hate gaston!” The youngest girl pouted in her bed, arms crossed as she listened.
“Is he going to kill the beast?!”
The storyteller chuckled before shrugging at the children.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
As you and aleksander walked into your room, you gasped as a knife deeply grazed aleksander’s side.
You looked behind his shoulder and saw orion not the far behind.
You quickly knelt down to aleksander’s side to help aid his wound.
“You’ll be alright we just need to get you to the-!” You gasped as orion held you against himself, a blade against your neck. “Let her go.” Aleksander rasped out as he held his side in pain.
“What are you suppose to be? A lion? A kitten?” Orion taunted, holding the blad closer, the steel pressing into your neck.
“I’ll kill you if you harm her.” Aleksander warned, you gasped as orion move you and himself into a corner of your room, using your body as a shield aleksander off. “Useless threats..” Orion chided aleksaner.
Before the pair could argue the door opened to your brothers, tristan and thomas who held their weapons in preperation.
“Y/n!” Tristan said, frantic as he noticed your positon, being used as a shield to a beast.
Thomas pointed his weapon towards aleksander which made you thrust forward but was jerked back. “Don’t, he tried to protect me from orion!” You groaned as orion nicked your throat, making a droplet of blood fall to the floor.
A red rosed blossomed from the bloodstain, you looked at aleksander who’s eyes followed the blooddroplet before lunging at orion, pushing you away and into your brothers side.
You hit you head on the floor but you looked in time to see aleksander use the cut on orion, who before being killed thrusted his blade into aleksander’s stomach, making him crumple over.
You quickly scrambled to aleksander’s side as he laid on the floor, holding his stomach.
“No, no, no, this came happen.” You whispered to yourself as you placed his head into your lap.
He coughed, blood staining his teeth, you sobbed as he let out a ragged breath. “You can’t die, you can’t..” You cried as he slowly raised his hand to your cheek and smiled as he brushed hair away, aleksander wanted to make sure his last moments were of his last love.
You watched as his breathing slowled down and his eyes got heavier. “Aleksander?” You tapped his cheek twice but no response, you fell forward and weeped.
In the corner of you tears, you saw a trail of glowing light leading toward’s the small pond of water, quickly connecting the dots you lifted yourself up and turned to your brothers who watched in pity as you cried for your lover.
“Help me, please.” You pleaded, thomas and tristan quickly tossed aside their weapons and helped lift aleksander into the pond, you placed your forehead against the edge and pleaded to the saints as he was submerged. The glow surround aleksander’s body.
Your brothers watched in shock as aleksadner’s scars slowly washed off under the water, his wounds began to heal closed.
Aleksander slowly opened his eyes and looked around in shock, he was alive once more.
He smiled softly as you whispered for him to be healed, he leaned closer. “I believe we’ve missed dinner.”
You gasped at his voice, quickly raising your head and smiled as he looked back at you, healed from any scars. “You’re alive!” You cried out, hugging him tightly, not caring if your gown got wet.
“Always alive for you.” He grinned, embracing you tightly.
On the outside, the palace overgrown look had started to vanish, the garden being washed over by a wave of light, genya looked up and smiled as she saw the vines on the palace vanish, you had broke their curse to the palace.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You smiled as you and aleksander stepped out onto the ballroom floor, surrounded by other couples.
“Certian as the sun,
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time,
Song as old as rhyme,
Beauty and the beast”
You smiled at aleksander as you both danced. “What is it? Do i have something on my face?” He quickly rised his hand to wipe his beard, making you smile and laugh.
“Is it bad, i want to have your scratched up face again?” Aleksander’s eyebrows rose up at your words.
“Oh? Is that how it is wife?” He snickered, drawing you in close to kiss your cheek.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“They couple had gotten married and had a huge wedding, y/n’s sisters had found husbands amongst aleksander’s grisha, henry had apologized to y/n and aleksander which after a few years they made up. Tristan had taken up being a guard for his sister, and thomas had gone on to write books, several for his children and nieces and nephews!”
“It’s over?” The youngest boy questioned.
“Sadly, but I say they lived happily ever after..” The storyteller grinned at the children.
“Genya looks like ms saffin from the book!” a flicker of the lights made the kids turn to the door where you stood with a grin.
“Bedtime check, goodnight munchkins!” You grinned as your nieces and nephews all said goodnight to you and genya before settling down, as you closed the door you heard them talking about the story to each other as a bedtime talk.
“Thank you again genya!” You thanks the woman who smiled and shook her head. “I have to get practice for the newst member.” SHe winked at you before walking to her quarters.
You quietly walked towards your bedroom on the top floor, You quietly opened the door and smiled at the sight.
“Mommy!” Your little boy squealed flinging himself at you from the bed. “My loves!” You smiled as aleksander walked into your bedroom his hands behind his back. “What are you hiding?” You questioned, making aleksander grin as he pulled out a red rose and handed it to you. “Fresh from your garden.”
“Thank you but i believe the garden full of roses are enough of your affection for me.” You teased, kissing aleksander.
As you and aleksander slid into bed with your son in between you all talked for a bit before he asked for a story.
“Alright, i’m a bit rusty so apologiges but, once upon a time there was a rich merchant.” You smiled at the story and snuggled into the blanket as aleksander sat up to tell the story to your son.

Thanks for your response to that other anon about Tommy; you’re totally right. I also was intrigued, even liked him and Buck after their first kiss. But his closet comment and behavior on their first date, like he didn’t care that Buck has LITERALLY just figured out his bisexuality and that’s A LOT to process, his dismissive attitude towards Buck’s ideas and feelings (the bachelor party henley, the “enjoy it while it lasts” at the medal ceremony)….and then add in the way some fans have gone 0 to 100 on them so quickly, even calling them endgame, and likely at least in part JUST because it’s two men…it’s become such a turn off. I was neutral, even wanted to like them at first, but now am counting the days until it ends. And it’s not because I’m a BoB or would dislike any Buck LI that isn’t Eddie. And I don’t agree with anyone getting HATE (we can sideeye and judge people’s actions ($cameos$) But I think seeing Buck in a canon male/male relationship has caused some people to lose their damn minds. Ship and let ship! Stay in your sandbox, we’ll stay in ours!
LOL I am so removed from all the crowing bummies that I have to ask wth is BoB?
I actually went to look it up and found some interesting options, I am going with this one:
"Bob" is a generic and common name, and using it can be a way of avoiding formalities or creating a relaxed and approachable atmosphere
If you have the other meaning go ahead and tell me, like bummies I understand what benefits me in the moment😂
I kinda wish ppl will look up the meaning of "comphet" (I actually looked it up) that Ryan keeps bringing up in his interviews - that way ppl can stop saying crap things about him being the one to derail Eddie-T because he was supposedly against it. - Which is bullshit, Tim repeatedly said it was because the Natalia actress couldn't come back and M actress could. - Also, Originally T was supposed to be Lucy, she just couldn't come back so they took Lou in a pinch, so Obviously the endgame sure as shit wasn't the pilot.
And you're right, T's attitude was condescending at best, I was talking about it with a mutual the other day, and said that if they really had an interest to build BT properly, also by the time they came up with BT they knew they were being renewed for S8, they could have slowed into this. Actually make Buck's coming out story, a coming out story, not "So first date was a bust, how bout you come to my sister's wedding?" like who does that?
They could have started as friends with Lou being a gay guru, they could have had private dates until Buck was actually out to everyone and ready to be seen in public.
There could have been feelings involved that developed over time.
I gave the example of Tim-Ashley vs Nolan-Bailey from The Rookie, while Ashley was fairly kept to the background (btw she got more screen time than T, just saying) while Bailey was constantly and still being weaved into the story, intricated into Nolan's life, because he was meant to end up with her.
What ppl, who seem to have never watched good tv in their lives, don't seem to understand is that there is a way to write a story, and 911 not only screwed up spectacularly with Buck and Eddie's storylines, but they managed to make it clear from the get go that any LI to come along would be written just bad enough for it to be clear that they are not lasting.
Even furious, Eddie never walked away from Buck. Even when Buck was an asshole in 2x01, Eddie stood his ground and insisted they sort it through making it clear that they are on the same side, that he cares about him and wanting to be his friend. - His partner, a team.
Tommy, like all his predecessors, walked away as soon as something didn't fit his little comfort zone. Tommy walked away on that first date, he didn't contact Buck after that, Buck had to make contact and apologize for not being comfortable on his first date with a guy, like how messed up is that?
And Tommy's little acid retort in front of Eddie in the restaurant before that? From the side it's hilarious for someone who was never in that position. It was mean and uncalled for, but not exactly a surprise because T was never much of am understanding person, he was pretty much an ass from the get go in S2, only difference now is that he is out of the closet.
How did Athena put it when Michael first brought his new bf home after they got divorced? "If Michael had cheated on me with a woman, no one would have expected me to slap on a fake smile and welcome her into my home."
And that is exactly what the GA expects us to do, so what if Buck injured Eddie for attention? He's bi now.
So what if T was an ass and pretty much dismissive towards Buck and talks to him often in a bored way like one talks to a child? He's gay now.
A certain sexual preference does not excuse bad behavior. A person's behavior is supposed to be taken at face value, and not excused just because that person is now seeing someone who happens to be of the same gender.
Crappy behavior is just that - crappy behavior - equal accountability and all that.
I actually liked Taylor for Buck in S2, I think Lucy could have been perfect for him in S5, but the writers made sure to smear their characters in the eyes of the GA from the beginning, thus ending up with another failed relationship, while Buck's relationship with Eddie thrives from one episode to another for the last 7 seasons. One has to wonder about that even if they don't ship buddie.
Same pattern here with T. I was prepared to like him with Buck, I was prepared to see Buck making his way out of the closet with someone who would make him feel safe to do it, not kiss him unprepared under the pretense of coming originally on Eddie's behalf. Not that crap show that was that restaurant date. Not Buck apologizing after feeling insecure and exposed in public for the first time out of the closet and so many other things. - I'm getting the same vibes as Taylor looking through her phone in disinterest in 4x11 as Buck recites some google fact.
And you're right, the fans going from 0-200 after one kiss was just ridiculous, like chill people have you never seen two men kiss before?
I have, on screen and in RL, I grew up with lovely lgbtq+ friends from childhood, it's not all that. When my gay best friend dated someone who didn't treat him right, I told him to get rid of him. When my cousin's gf treated her like property and like she owes her something I urged her to find a better more nurturing person to be happy with.
Two men kissing is not endgame making, hell, from experience two men having sex (hot as it is) is not endgame making.
Love, passion, trust, security, fun, friends gatherings where they're cute and gross, can be made into a healthy endgame making relationship.
Buck and Tommy have physical attraction, they make for a steamy picture but nothing else.
And Lou, I am just... I don't know, I would have preferred not to find out the things he's done as cast of 911, I am just so disappointed.
I loved Lou, now it's just meh. Like he's trying to make as much money as he can before he finishes his way in the show is all kinds of wrong. Also very misleading to the ppl who are hanging on his every word. (And I don't think Oliver likes it either, he is pointedly ignoring any scene with T, not promoting anything that doesn't involve Eddie and Christopher or Buck's own development).
Even Ryan didn't know he was going to get shot until he got the 4x13 script, he was sure he was being killed off until he talked to whoever was showrunner at the time lol.
So Lou can't know he just talks out of his ass and make himself look bad in the process.
And I agree, ppl should be free to ship whoever they desire, but they are not entitled to force their desires upon others, I'm talking about both sides of the ships not just one. (Although I gotta say I've never got hate asks until a certain ship popped up this season. A lot of hateful - now blocked anons - that I refused to give stage to.)
These toxic battles are useless and made this season worse than it's writing.
All that's left is kick back and hope this season's last episode can salvage the poor and repetitive storylines we got this season, - I mean even Henren and Bathena got a replay of S4.
And don't even get me started of the fart shaped storyline Eddie got after switching last minute.
I'm tired lol
didn't mean for this to become this long monster, If you made it this far thank you, sending LOTS of love. ❤️

That’s my Husband, You Sick Son of a Bitch!
Divergence from chapter 29, where Eddie doesn’t get stopped and rushes in to fight the bomber, because that is husband and he will not let this stupid kid kill him. Though, maybe punching him in the face and loudly declaring Buck his husband, wasn’t his best plan.
On AO3.
Ships: Buddie
Warnings: injury, violence
~~~
There is lead in Eddie’s stomach, a fear he hasn’t felt since he was pinned in the desert somewhere, almost certain he was never going to see Chris or Buck ever again. It’s been there since he first realized Buck was in that other truck and it hasn’t left the entire time.
Right now, Bobby is steadily trying to come closer to Freddie, his arms raised as he says: “I’m here now. So, what’s next? It’s what you wanted.”
“Wanted you dead,” Freddie tells him.
And vindictively, Eddie thinks: ‘I want you dead,’ the thought taking root as anger flushes through his veins. Anger is better to feel than that ever present gnawing fear. Anger is uncontrollable, but it’s less paralyzing. Anger, Eddie knows how to work with.
“I get that, but what about them?” Bobby counters, keeping his cool and gesturing the other injured firefighters. Then he points at Buck and asks: “What about him?”
Eddie just freezes at the words, the tiny tendrils of fear clawing at the anger he’s cultivating as he’s boiling behind that truck. Because what is Bobby thinking, getting the attention on Buck like that. It’s like he doesn’t see the bomber right there next to Buck, ready to, oh, I don’t know, bomb him?
Oblivious to Eddie’s thoughts, Bobby continues on talking: “He’s got parents, a sister, friends, people that rely on him. And he never did anything to you. He wasn’t even a firefighter when your father burned down that restaurant.”
Hearing Bobby say that, hits him in the gut, because it’s such a gross under-representation of who Buck is, of all the people that care about him. Of all the people that he cares about. Sure, he has parents, but they suck, but he also is a parent. He’s one of the best goddamn parents Eddie knows. And he’s a parent with Eddie. He’s his partner. His co-parent. His husband.
And yes, it’s not like that, but that doesn’t matter right now, because Bobby is trying to convince this shithead that Buck is a life that is worthy of saving, worthy of letting live, and he can’t do that properly, because he doesn’t have all the facts. He doesn’t know.
Eddie longs to correct him, to yell out that Buck is his fucking husband and this shithead needs to let him go right now, because he can’t do it without him. However, before he can, Freddie is answering Bobby, coldly shrugging: “Collateral damage.”
The disinterested tone in which he says it, cuts through Eddie. He knows that tone. That’s the tone of someone, who doesn’t care. Of someone, who has nothing left to lose. Of someone, who will let Buck die. He cannot let Buck die.
Without a thought, he’s up, moving forward as fast as his feet can carry him as anger takes over, turning into focus. Hands briefly brush against his uniform, trying to grab at him, but he’s faster and stronger, shrugging them off.
He needs to act, he needs to help Buck, he needs to punch something.
And he does. Almost on autopilot, years of boxing that he was forced into in high school, all the sparring he did to blow off steam, the time he spend in the army, it just takes over, and his fists connects with Freddie’s face as he screams out: “That’s my husband, you sick son of a bitch! Not your fucking collateral damage!”
Freddie is stunned by the impact, going down and dropping the trigger to catch himself, while throwing the other hand up to protect his face. Eddie had all but forgotten about the bomb in his rage, but he puts it out of his mind the second he got Freddie’s hands pinned and the button is out of reach again.
It’s fighting dirty, what he’s doing, but he doesn’t care, fist coming down on the guy’s face as he seethes: “You don’t,” punch, “get to,” punch, “take my kid’s,” punch, “dad,” punch, “from him.”
Before, he can punch again, people are grabbing him and roughly pulling him away from Freddie, whose nose is open and bleeding. He’s getting cuffed and a bomb squad is moving in, but Eddie is not treated kindly either.
He’s being restrained and he struggles against them. It’s not even that he’s trying to get another swing at Freddie, it’s just that the adrenaline is still rushing through him, still telling him to act. And he knows that even if Freddie is gone, Buck is still there. Buck still needs him.
So, he’s pushing and kicking, trying to get them away so he can see Buck. He’s hearing nothing, the harsh voices telling him to calm down not getting through to him at all.
It’s not until Athena is in front of him, slapping his cheek, that he snaps out of it and hears her voice say: “Eddie Diaz, you better calm down right now. Or I’m going to have to arrest you.”
“Buck. Buck still needs me,” Eddie wheezes, not entirely stopping the fight.
“And you can’t do shit for Buck if you don’t calm the fuck down,” Athena tells him without mincing her words.
“Okay. Okay,” Eddie says out loud to himself, taking breaths as he unclenches his muscles. At some point, rough gloved hands tentatively let him go, before people are stepping away when he doesn’t do anything more stupid.
Athena is sending him a weird look, but she doesn’t comment on anything that just went down, which Eddie is grateful for. Instead, she puts a comforting hand on his shoulder and leads him over to where Buck is, Hen already working on him, while Chimney tries to coordinate rescue.
Buck looks to be in complete agony, but still conscious. In an almost out of body experience, Eddie kneels down next to him, gently taking his hand and putting it on his lap. He stares at the appendage for way too long, tracing its every line, before he breathes out: “Buck…”
“Hey,” Buck tries to crack a grin, but he isn’t fully successful.
“Hi,” Eddie replies with a small voice.
“You just totally fought that guy for my honor,” Buck says, his eyes sparkling with something Eddie can’t place, despite the pain.
“Uh, I did.”
“That was pretty stupid,” Buck tells him, then adds: “But also pretty cool.”
“I’m, uh- I’m glad you think so,” Eddie chuckles, unsure how he feels about that, or what to say to it beyond what he already did.
However, he doesn’t have to figure that out right now, because Buck hisses in pain as something shifts and grips Eddie’s hand in a death grip, while his eyes flutter close.
Eddie’s eyes whip over to Hen’s face. He’s been so out of it, he hasn’t gotten the wits to pull out his medic professionalism, too focused on making sure Buck was still alive, feeling his warm hand in his own.
“Here.” Hen pushes a bunch of medical equipment in his hands as muscle memory takes over. Then she turns to Buck and says: “So, Eddie’s husband, tell me more about that.”
“Tha’s me. ‘m Eddie’s husband,” Buck murmurs, his eyes opening to slits. It’s clear the blood loss and whatever other injuries he may have are starting to hit him hard.
“Hen,” Eddie hisses, “is this the time?”
She sends him an unimpressed look and says: “He needs to stay conscious, in order to do that he needs to keep talking. I’m keeping him talking.” Then to Buck she goes: “What were you about to say?”
“’m Eddie’s h’sb’nd,” Buck smiles at her and Eddie has to blush and look away when he sees it. Then in a hushed whisper, Buck adds: “Bu’ y’re not ‘llowed to t’ll any’ne.”
Amused, Hen promises: “I won’t.”
“H’s s’nice,” Buck tells her conversationally and Eddie wants to tell him to shut up, but they do need him conscious and a small part of him preens at the admission.
“Oh, is he?”
“Y’ah, he ‘s,” Buck says, voice appearing to gain power as he gushes about Eddie. “But h’s also s’ch a bitch s’metimes, but it looks s’good on ‘im. ‘e looks s’xy wi’h his hands on his h’ps, cocky li’le f’cker.”
Eddie chokes on a noise and busies himself with making sure Buck is getting fluids, while ignoring the way Hen is looking at him. He never thought of himself as a bitch, even though he can admit now that he is sometimes. However, Buck finding it sexy on him makes him feel all squirmy, though he doesn’t know what to do with that.
“G’eat back up at par’nt-t’acher conf’renc’s,” Buck continues on, oblivious to Eddie’s struggles and only making them worse. “H’s a g’eat dad too. Chris loves t’e shit outta ‘im and I love t’e way he smiles wh’n Chris ‘s in t’e room.”
Desperately Eddie looks over to where their meager back up is getting into position to lift the engine of Buck’s foot. He and Hen are staying right there to monitor Buck and pull him out. No one seems to expect him to move away from Buck, which he is grateful for, though he can’t fully comprehend why.
“It’s t’e cri’kles, ya’ know, ‘round h’s ey- AHHH!” Buck cuts himself off with a scream when the engine gets minimally lifted and Eddie and Hen tug at him, hoping to get him free.
His hand has Eddie’s in a death grip once more, but he can’t bring himself to care about the pain, just gripping back, hoping it will be a comfort. It has to be, because it’s all he can give right now. All he can do to help. No matter how much more he would rather be doing.
But it’s not enough. Not enough people, not enough manpower.
Eddie can’t name half the feelings that are swirling around in his chest, but he knows one of them is desperation. Hopelessness. He is never good enough and right now, he feels it more than ever. Without his permission, tears well up in his eyes and he looks over to Bobby desperately, asking: “Is there anything on the truck we can use for leverage?”
Bobby crushes any hope he has of getting Buck out sooner. “No, we need more people.”
“It hurts,” Buck says in a small voice and Eddie’s heart breaks.
Without conscious thought, his free hand comes up to card through Buck’s hair as he attempts to soothe him: “I know. I know. We’ll get you out, I promise. I’m right here, just keep holding onto my hand. I got you. I always got you.”
He barely has the mind to focus on the people breaking through the barrier to come help. He is grateful to them for helping them get Buck out, but he can’t even think of them. Instead he is completely zeroed in on Buck, only noticing the bystanders to the extend that he acknowledges when they allow for him and Hen to pull Buck free, before he gets caught in the whirlwind of getting Buck on the backboard and into the ambulance.
Buck keeps groaning and whimpering in pain and each time it slashes through Eddie’s soul. He doesn’t think he’ll ever forget those wounded noises.
In the ambulance, it’s clear that Eddie isn’t driving along as a medic, but as family of the victim. Hen and Chimney flutter about him, keeping Buck stable, and Eddie just sits there, holding his hand.
As they work, they keep Buck busy with questions or comments, prompting him to keep talking. It appears that Buck has decided that Eddie is a great topic, which means Eddie spends the whole drive with fear for Buck’s life and embarrassed fondness warring in his chest.
But what else is he supposed to do, but burn worriedly when Buck slurs: “H’s t’e b’st thin’ tha’ happen’d to me.”
What is he supposed to do, but grip Buck’s hand tightly and pray that he’s making it through this, because Eddie feels like his insides are going to crawl out of his mouth and like he is going to shed all his skin. He feels hot all over and cold to the core, uncomfortable at Buck’s words, but also pleasantly buzzed on them, heat flooding through his veins.
By the time they get to the hospital, his ears feel like they’re going to fall off with how hot they are and his insides are more squirmy than ever.
At that point, the fluids they’ve been giving Buck are beginning to work their magic and Buck’s eyes clear up a little more as they roll him towards the hospital. Panic flashes in his blue eyes as he looks at Eddie and he chokes out: “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay. You’re okay. You didn’t do anything wrong. Just focus on making it through this, okay? I’m here. I’m right here. I’m always going to be here,” Eddie assures him with a pained smile. It’s not pained because he blames Buck for giving them away, but because Buck blames himself for that, even when he is in so much pain. The stupid self sacrificing idiot.
“You will?” Buck asks, voice heartbreakingly fragile.
“I will,” Eddie promises, because there isn’t a cell in his body that would ever think differently.
Buck smiles gratefully at that, but doesn’t say anything else, clearly too exhausted. Eddie should be letting go of his hand now, but he can’t bring himself to. He fears that if he lets go of Buck now, he might lose him forever and that’s a reality he cannot imagine.
In the end, Chimney has to gently pry his fingers off of Buck’s hand so they can hand him over to the hospital. As he does, he shushes him: “It’s alright Eddie, you’ll see him again. Buck’s a though cookie, he’ll make it. You’re not going to lose your husband, I promise.”
It’s not a promise they are allowed to make to patients or loved ones in their line of work, but it doesn’t even register to Eddie. Instead, it’s as if something has been knocked loose in his chest and a realization floods through his veins; Eddie is in love with Buck.
This whole time, he hadn’t even realized that he never corrected anyone’s assumption about the nature of their relationship. He’d been so focused on Buck that he didn’t even question it. Embarrassed by the way he was waxing poetry, sure, but also pleased. Happy.
It suddenly makes so much sense to him. Why it was so hard with Shannon, but so easy with Buck. The way he kept finding reasons to not divorce Buck, to keep him close. The way it hurt when he had to suggest a divorce, the relief when Buck didn’t want to.
Eddie wanted to Buck to say those things about him. Still wants him to. He loves him and he might have just lost him forever, before he even got to bask in it or say it back.
The crushing reality that he is gay and in love with his husband, who is his best friend and co-parent, crashes over him and he nearly buckles under the force of it. He stands there at the entrance of the hospital, shaking. He can’t deal with all of this right now.
His lip wobbles and he bites it harshly to stop it, mechanically straightening his spine and choppily marching into the hospital. He needs something to do. Something to keep himself together. He snatches the hospital sign in paperwork for Buck out of some poor nurse’s hands, before anyone else can. His hands shake, but he forces his penmanship to be neat. Buck can’t die at his hands due to illegibility of his handwriting. Not before Eddie can tell him.
As he fills everything in in a frenzy, Hen and Chimney are hovering behind him, watching him with worried brows as they share meaningful looks with each other. Eddie ignores them, just like he’s ignoring the turmoil inside. He has a job to do right now.
However, in this very smart plan, he’d forgotten that his job was a small one. When the paperwork is handed over to the hospital, Eddie is left adrift again and it all hits him like a tidal wave once more.
No matter how much he hates it and tries to fight it, tears well up in his eyes and he chokes on a sob as he collapses on the waiting room chair between Chimney and Hen, crying: “I love him. Oh my god, I love him and I didn’t tell him.”
“It’s okay, Eddie,” Chimney rubs his back. “A lot was happening.”
“Yeah, I’m sure he knows you do,” Hen comforts him too, arm wrapped around his shoulders.
“No, he does- doesn’t,” Eddie cries, hiccuping over his words. “He doesn’t because I never- I never told h-im. Because I’m an- an idiot, who didn’t- didn’t even real- realize that I l- lo-ve him until now.”
Behind his back Hen and Chimney exchange another look, before Hen tentatively asks: “What do you mean you didn’t realize you love Buck until now? I- uh, I thought you two are married.”
“We are,” Eddie sniffles, wiping at his tears. “It’s a- a con- convenience thing.”
Chimney chokes on his spit and start coughing. Eddie can feel Hen pushing him lightly from behind his back, but he doesn’t comment on it, cheeks burning in embarrassment. He knows how stupid it sounds now, he feels like an idiot already. No need to make it worse.
“Can I ask how that happened?” Hen asks gently, while Chimney continues to try and get his breathing under control.
“It’s a long story,” Eddie mumbles, the every present shame of not being good enough weighing down on his chest.
“I mean, we have time, but it’s okay if you don’t want to tell us right now,” Chimney says, having gained control of himself. “Though, gotta say, man, little offended we didn’t get invited to the wedding.”
That gets a wet chuckle out of Eddie, which was probably the point. He glances over at Chimney and manages to crack a smile: “Sorry. Though it would’ve been a little difficult, since we got married back in 2016.”
He watches with a bit of amusement as the gently joking expression on Chimney’s face gets wiped off by shock, eyes bulging out of their sockets. On his shoulder Hen’s hand spasms, probably also in surprise.
Eddie bites his lip, this time to stop the smile, then looks out into the waiting room with unseeing eyes, lost in the memories. “We met in 2015 in El Paso. Buck worked on a chicken farm and I’d just returned from my second tour. He was actually seeing Shannon at the time.”
“As in your ex-wife Shannon?” Chimney asks, sounding shocked yet also gleefully invested. Eddie can’t help but be fond at the nosiness.
“Yeah,” Eddie says with a crooked-smile. “Probably should have realized it then, with how little I cared about it. How a part of me was happy she was, that maybe she just cheated and that’s why she left. That I was normal.”
“Oh, Eddie,” Hen sighs and she pulls him into her side.
Eddie goes willingly. The realization from earlier suddenly stuck in his throat like a missed bone in a fish. Tears start up again. He hadn’t even realized how hard admitting that would hit, until he said it and now he struggles to swallow it away.
He curls into Hen’s side more, hiding his face in her neck. He shouldn’t be doing this, showing weakness the way he is, but he can’t bring himself to care. Buck is in surgery and Eddie has never felt so scared before, except maybe when it was Chris. He needs the comfort of his friends.
The tears start up again and he weeps silently into Hen’s uniform. Hen doesn’t comment on it, just pulls him closer and holds him tight, while Chimney continues rubbing his back. Eddie doesn’t know what he did to deserve people like this, but he’s so grateful.
They’re interrupted by Maddie rushing in, looking a mess, frantic, worried and confused. Eddie cringes away from her, scared to face her now. He’s always wanted Maddie to like him – another thing that makes more sense in hindsight – and he fears the probably somewhat right accusations she might throw at him when she gets there.
Both Hen and Chimney can feel how he tenses up and after a silent moment of communication, Chimney squeezes his shoulder, before getting up to catch Maddie. Eddie loves him for it. It’s Eddie’s duty as a brother-in-law, but he feels too wrung out.
They watch Chimney talk lowly to her, arms making calming gestures, while Maddie’s arms move wildly. After a bit, Chimney grabs her shoulders and says something intently, then Maddie collapses into a hug and clings tight while Chimney holds her.
“Did Maddie know?” Hen asks softly after a few moments.
“No,” Eddie says with a small voice. “No one, but my family does. Buck wanted to tell her, but he didn’t want to make her keep that secret from Chimney.”
“Self sacrificing idiot,” Hen says fondly, echoing Eddie’s earlier thoughts, so he can only hum in agreement.
Chimney leads Maddie away, probably to calm her down some more. Eddie can’t help but note how good a match they are, making a mental note to mention it to Buck, soothe some of his worries. Before his chest twists again with the reminder that that might not be possible.
Fresh tears well up and he buries his face in his hands and lets Hen comfort him again. Later he’s probably going to want the ground to swallow him over it, but right now, he just thinks about how nice it is to be held like this. He can’t remember the last time he let anyone hold him like this.
He doesn’t know how much time has passed, but the tears have gone from full on tears to silent weeping to little sniffles by the time someone nudges him.
When he blinks a few times and rubs the crud out of his eyes, he finds Athena there, holding out a bottle of water to him, a gentle motherly look on her face. “Here, drink this, baby. I’ll need to take your statement after, is that okay? You feel up for that?”
“Thank you.” Clumsily, Eddie takes the bottle from her, struggling with the cap for a second, before chugging half, then forcing himself to take small sips. He didn’t even realize how thirsty all the crying made him until now.
Then the rest of her sentence registers and he wipes his mouth, before looking to the floor and hunching in on himself. “I don’t really have a choice, do I?”
“Well, we need a statement, but it doesn’t have to be now. We can do it later,” Athena offers.
“No, it’s okay,” he gives her a watery smile. “I can do it now. Not much else to do but wait.”
Sympathy flashes over Athena’s features, before she gets everything ready to take his statement. “So, can you tell me what happened, Eddie?”
“Uh, we- we heard Bobby – Captain Nash – on the radio, which was a little odd, since he’s, you know, suspended right now,” Eddie starts, recounting everything that happened from then until he gets to attacking Freddie. “He just sounded so cold, you know. The way he said it. ‘Collateral damage.’ He didn’t care if Buck lived or died. I- I couldn’t just stand there anymore, you know.”
“I think so, but can you tell me more?” Athena prompts.
Eddie swallows uncomfortably, then says: “He had Buck. He would have let Buck die. I- I couldn’t let him do that, not when- not when he had to come home to me. To Chris. Uh, Christopher, our son,” he clarifies for the record.
Athena probably had gathered some bits and she is a professional to the core, but Eddie can see the way her face twitches slightly when he says ‘our son.’
He continues: “I acted before I could even think about it. It was instinct taking over. I couldn’t let him kill Buck, couldn’t let Chris lose another parent after his mom already walked out on him and I had to leave him to serve in the army. I couldn’t do that to him. And I couldn’t lose Buck. So, I acted.”
“And the way you kept punching?” Athena asks, not judgmentally, though Eddie still feels it.
“Uh,” he looks away. “Adrenaline, I think. All the fear coming out. I mean, I saw the trigger to the bomb so close by still, I felt like I had to stop him. So I pinned him, tried to knock him out. I probably should have stopped, but I wasn’t thinking.”
Athena hums to herself as she nods, looking over her notes. Then follows up: “Was that also the reason you kept struggling after you two had been separated?”
Eddie blushes at that and admits: “In part. Another part was that Buck was still out there. He needed to me, so I had to get to him, but they weren’t letting me. In the heat of the moment, it didn’t register who they were and what they were doing. When I snapped out of it, I stopped,” he adds in defense of himself.
“I know,” Athena smiles. “And can you state for the record what your relationship is with Buck, or Evan Buckley?”
“He’s my family,” Eddie says without missing a beat. Then he grimaces as he says: “It’s a little complicated, but he’s my husband and my co-parent. My best friend. I love him.”
“Thank you, Eddie,” Athena tells him, then puts away all her official stuff. She is done with taking his statement and Eddie relaxes slightly. Once she has everything tucked away, she asks: “And how are you feeling?”
“Terrified,” Eddie confesses.
“He’ll be okay,” Athena assures him. “Buckaroo is too stubborn for anything else.”
Eddie gives her a teary yet grateful smile. “Thank you.”
Then Bobby speaks up: “We’re here for you two. All of us.” Eddie hadn’t even noticed him coming in and looks up with a start.
“Thanks, Cap,” he says, unsure how to break to either of them that it’s not like that – though maybe it is now – instead he focuses on an important detail, asking: “Are we in a lot of trouble?”
“You would be,” Bobby says and Eddie tenses, then Bobby adds: “But you got lucky that your stunt made it to national television. Court of public opinion is definitely on your side, the LAFD would face a shit storm if they fired either one of you now.”
Almost as if with cosmic timing, the TV in the hospital waiting room re-plays footage from the explosion. Above the murmuring and commentary from the reporters, you can clearly hear TV Eddie scream: “That’s my husband, you sick son of a bitch! Not your fucking collateral damage!”
Embarrassment flushes through Eddie at his own actions, though he doesn’t regret it. Not when he got Buck out of there and to surgery as quickly as he could. Still, his voice is a little shrill as he says: “Oh, well, that’s good.”
“It is,” Bobby agrees mildly, but he doesn’t offer more.
Timidly, Eddie asks: “And are you mad?”
Bobby sighs, before rubbing his face. “A little,” he admits and a part of Eddie wilts. “However, I mostly don’t know what to feel just yet. I hope we didn’t make you uncomfortable for you to not want to share.”
Right now Eddie should probably explain, but he’s already had too many emotional talks, so he just smiles tiredly: “No, no. It was just us being in our own way.”
Hen, who has more context, though not all yet, snorts a little at that. Eddie can’t help but shoulder check her lightly over it, but the action on the whole just makes him feel warm. Fond.
He has no clue what tomorrow will look like, or even the next hour. He still has to deal with all the realizations he’s had today, with telling Chris and dealing with the brass about their lie. With the potential anger or other reactions of everyone at them for lying.
However, right now, he just lets the comfort of his family wash over him, bask in the fact that he has this support system. He can face tomorrow. Face what will happen next. He just has to make it through this, then kiss Buck on the mouth. The rest will come.
~~
A/N:
Ugh, you don’t even wanna know how much I wanted this to be the reveal, sadly these dumbasses are not done with us yet, so we’re gonna have to continue on in the main verse with their bullshit still in tact </3
Besides, it felt cliché to do a feelings realization over Buck getting hurt, since Buck’s feelings realization was already about Eddie getting hurt, like that felt repetitive
Also, idk why, but I have such a hard time incorporating Maddie in these AUAUs. I keep trying, but it never works out, so I always end up relegating her to more of a background role, I’m sorry to all the Maddie lovers out there, I’ll try for future AUAUs!
Little Dove 3/?
Part 1 Part 4
TWs for this part: smoking, manipulation, grooming
Dabi knows what he's doing is wrong. He's not blind to his own backwards morality. In fact, he revels in it. He's murdered without a second thought, for no more than a flash of annoyance. He's a consummate monster.
But this… the plans shaping up for Hawks’ sweet little sister are truly demented. They're sick, twisted, the sort of evil that leaves a stain and never washes out. He can't wait to share what the hero will do. No doubt, Hawks will try to defend himself. Endeavor will find out what his lost son made the hero do, and he will be filled with disgust for both his son and his second.
It's all due to an accident of fate. Hawks losing his phone was the best thing to happen to Dabi. Thanks to the idiot’s affectionate contact name for his sister, Dabi was going to trap the two birds in a cage of his own twisted design.
You and Dabi text every day after that. He’s funny in a dark, sardonic sort of way, but you suppose that’s normal for someone in his line of work. He convinces you to meet up the following weekend. You’re nervous to meet him again.
You’re also worried about Keigo finding out, but your brother is absent in the few days leading up to your “date.” You don’t think it can properly be called that because it’s not as if he likes you, right? He’s just being nice to his peer’s little sister who never gets out.
Either way, you’re super excited. You spend entirely too much time picking an outfit, lamenting your lack of girlfriends to ask for advice. Last time he saw you, you looked like a kid. You were in your school uniform. This time, you want him to see you looking more adult.
Eventually you settle on a black t-shirt and jeans, both of which hug you flatteringly. You wear black shoes good for walking just in case, and even put on what you consider an artful application of makeup. You think you look much more mature like this, though the butterflies in your stomach belie your cool facade.
Soon enough, you trek to the cafe where you agreed to meet. Dabi is already sitting back in one of the outdoor seats. He nods in acknowledgement and his eyes flick over you; you flush at his clear appraisal, and wish you could figure out what he’s thinking.
“C’mon,” he says, rising to throw an arm around your shoulders.
He’s so warm and the scents of smoke and tobacco waft from him, as well as something that else that reminds you of fiery nights, but you can’t quite pick out why. It doesn’t matter; the smell isn’t necessarily bad.
“Where are we going?”
He steers you toward an alley and a writhing mass of darkness appears. “This is a friend’s quirk. It’s safe,” he assures you as you step through. You cling to him through the darkness and he squeezes you close.
When you come out the other side, you’re in a small apartment. It must be his place. There’s a futon, a mini fridge, a sink, what you guess is the lavatory, but the focus is a decent sized flat screen hooked up to a few different consoles. A cardboard box is filled with folded clothes, but that’s the extent of the furniture. It’s like he just moved in.
“I figured we should hang and get to know each other,” Dabi says by way of explanation. He sprawls on the futon and gestures for you to join him, turns on the television, and begins scrolling through apps via one of the consoles. “Do you game?”
You shift from foot to foot before finally taking a seat on the edge of the futon. “A little.” Most of the games in the apartment were chosen by Keigo and you’re not big on those.
He nods. “What d’ya like to watch? I’ll put something on.”
“I don’t know, I watch pretty much anything.”
His head rolls toward you and he deadpans, “I’ll put on some porn.” Your expression must be comical because he bursts out laughing. “Relax, I’m not trying to break you.” He settles on Netflix and sticks on some Korean show about zombies. “This one’s pretty good.”
You nod, actually familiar with the show. “Oh yeah, I like this show. It gets pretty dark though.”
You watch and slowly become more comfortable, leaning back on a pillow propped against the wall. You’ve almost forgotten to be awkward by the time you see fumbling out of the corner of your eye and you glance toward its source.
Dabi has taken down his mark and sports a cigarette between his lips. The bottom one is charred, scarred all the way down into his t-shirt. He lifts a brow at you, then flicks up a finger. A blue flame dances atop it. He uses that to light the cigarette. “Penny for your thoughts?”
“You have a fire quirk?” It’s about the dumbest thing you can say, but he nods.
“Yep. And you can thank that for all these fuckin’ scars. Pretty, huh?”
The thing is, if it weren’t for the scars, you’d think Dabi is pretty. Even with them, he has a rough, edgy look to him that probably pulls women anyway.
You shrug. “I like all your piercings.”
“Yeah?” He tugs your ear lobe with the hand not holding the cigarette and you giggle. “You should get some yourself. I bet you’d look pretty hot.”
“Keigo would flip.” The words are out before you can think twice. Your hand slaps over your mouth, eyes wide.
Dabi watches you keenly with those sharp blue eyes of his. “Keigo, huh? Don’t worry, Dove, I won’t tell his secret identity.”
“Thanks.”
“As far as what he likes… well, I bet he wouldn’t like me flirting with his little sister either, but here we are.”
You fall still, unsure you heard him correctly. “You’re flirting with me?”
Dabi laughs again. “Sure am. You’re too damn cute. Why, did you think I asked you to hang just to be nice?”
“I don’t know.” Your voice is hardly above a whisper, suddenly shy under his gaze.
Dabi’s tongue skirts his lips and he leans in close. You can smell the cigarette on his breath, but it doesn’t both you. “Sweetheart, you have been running through my mind like a goddamn train since the second I saw you.” He pulls you against him and kisses the top of your head. “You okay with that?”
You smile and speak through the fluttering pulse in your throat. “Yeah.”
“Good.”
Got Me Thinking
Part 8: When I Needed You Most
Tumblr media
Synopsis: This is supposed to be a time of healing, so you let Jack know what you had been feeling since the last time the two of you spoke despite how difficult it is. You feel like he failed you, but unexpectedly, a piece of paper is about to change both of your lives forever.
Pairing: Jack Harlow x Reader
Series Masterlist 💕
Please Do Not Repost My Content Anywhere
As hard as it was for Jack to walk away from you that night, he knew if he had wavered for a second then he would have instantly changed his mind and went right back to you. It was a difficult decision for him to make, but when he really sat down and thought about it, it made the most sense. A lot had occurred within the last six months and knew that your anxiety was probably getting the best of you and instead of putting pressure on you by being in the situation, he decided to take a step back in order for both of you to begin to properly heal.
He didn't leave until you fell asleep and made sure you were safe at this point, he was praying that you didn't run off again.
He drove back to his house in silence and was surprised to walk in to see Kelsey gathering all of her things. Or what was left of them for that matter. Ever since he had gotten back from Paris and being with you, of course an argument took place about the paparazzi pictures when Kelsey finally confronted him and he owned up to it.
He loved you and didn't love her and didn't want to be with her anymore.
“Oh, I thought that you would be with her. I was trying to be gone before you got back.” She quietly said as she was zipping one of her suitcases.
“I was earlier.”
“Can we just talk for a second? No bullshit.” She asked and Jack slowly nodded before shrugging, because at this point what did he have to lose?
“I knew. I knew and I didn't want to believe it. From the moment you brought her to your show and I saw how everyone gravitated towards her, I instantly got jealous because I couldn't even remember the last time you looked at me like how you looked at her. Actually, you never have. Not even on our wedding day. Since then, I knew that I wasn't going to be able to compete and when Clay told me that you and her were just friends, I highly doubted it.”
“Kelsey…”
“Just let me finish. Please. I'm sorry for what I did to you and I'm sorry for how I've treated you overall for these last few months.”
“Hmm, more so an entire two years, but go on.”
“I deserved that. I'm realizing how bad I've hurt you and I started pushing you away so you going back to your ex is not surprising and I should have seen it coming. I just want you to be happy at the end of the day and I now know that Y/N is the one who brings you happiness and not me. I should have been able to realize this on my own, but it took me talking to my therapist and my sister to see how wrong I was. I mean I cheated first so I guess this is my karma.”
“At one point in time, I did see myself being with you for the rest of my life, but Kelsey, you changed and it wasn't for the better.”
“That's fair and I agree. I wasn't the nicest person. I just…. want this divorce to go as smoothly as possible so whatever you want me to sign, I'll do it. Here's your key back. And I wish the best for you and Y/N, jealousy aside, she seems like an amazing girl who loves and cares about you a lot. I'm sorry that I took you for granted. I know now that we were kinda doomed from the beginning because of what I did. Take care of yourself and take care of Y/N.” Kelsey placed the house key in Jack’s hand before grabbing her suitcase and making her way towards the front door.
Once the door shut, Jack had sat down on the couch playing with the key in his hands and trying to make sense of what had just happened. If circumstances were different, you would be the first person that he told, but figured that it was best to give you your space.
You didn’t bother moving when you heard the front door open knowing that it was Tania who just got done her shift and had the rest of the day to herself which meant that she would be all up under you and not letting you out of her sight.
“Y/N, are you watching White Men Can't Jump again? This is the fourth time today and maybe the fifteenth time this week.” Tania said as she came into your bedroom to see you surrounded by snacks and Jack's face on the TV.
“I miss him and he hates me.” You quietly responded before stuffing another cheese puff into your mouth.
You were back in Calabasas in your house and Tania had been staying with you because everyone just knew that you were probably going to make a run for it again, even though you had said that you weren't.
“He does not hate you and I'm sure he misses you too. But you damn near gave all of us a heart attack…. again. I got on the first flight I could find to come and look for your ass.”
“I'm sorry.”
“Stop it. Stop apologizing. What's done is done. Now you have to start healing. Did you call that therapist that my cousin had recommended?”
When you were quiet, she grabbed the remote to press pause.
“How are you supposed to heal if you won't even try? This is not what you do to start to heal.”
“I'll do it tomorrow.”
“And I'm going to keep bothering you until you do.”
“Tania, I literally uprooted the life that I've known for like the past 5 years for him all to be like we need to work on ourselves before we be together how we want to be. Like what the fuck? You couldn't have figured that out before? In that regard, I'm pissed at him.”
“And I see why because I would be too. However, look at it from this perspective. He loves you enough to be honest and tell you that because he wants the relationship to be successful. We are all literally rooting for the two of you. I'm going to be here with you every step of the way. You can always call him, because what's stopping you? But… what the hell are you eating? Did you just dip your cheese puff in cream cheese and peanut butter?”
“What? I'm hungry?”
“No, that is the diet of someone who is pregnant.”
You looked over at her and rolled your eyes as you grabbed another one.
“You are literally so dramatic. I can't be. Already took a test when I was with Jack and it was negative. I'm just hungry like I said. Stop making a big deal out of everything.”
“Y/N, you have never eaten that when you're hungry so cut the bullshit.”
All of a sudden, a wave of nausea hit you and you then hopped up to run into the bathroom emptying the contents of your stomach with Tania right behind you.
Once you were finished, you stood up and brushed your teeth before splashing cold water on your face and Tania was eyeing you through the mirror.
“There’s a baby in there.”
“No there isn't and stop wishing that on me. I can't have a baby right now because that is only going to complicate things. It's not like me and Jack are exactly talking to one another.”
“Let's just take another one and see. I'll go buy it.”
All you did was let out a groan before rolling your eyes at her.
“Auntie Tania reporting for duty.”
“I can still kick you out of my house.”
Jack had been pacing back and forth in the studio while staring at his phone debating on if he was going to call you. It had been a few weeks and he wanted to check in on you and make sure that you were okay, but he wasn't quite sure if you would be willing to talk to him.
A few people came with him to Nashville to start working on new music, but truth be told, he did it to get out of Louisville and to hopefully get his mind off of you.
And his plan was failing…. Miserably. He couldn't focus for more than thirty minutes at a time.
“Will you just call her already?” Clay asked while glancing at his older brother.
“If you keep this up, you’re going to run a hole in the floor and I'm not paying for it.” Neelam said from behind him as she walked into the room.
“I'll call her for you!” 2fo yelled from the corner as he had just opened a bag of cheetos.
“I don't understand why you're acting like this when you were the one who broke it off with Y/N in the first place.” Urban quietly said and Jack shot him a look.
“I didn't break it off! We're taking a break. Hiatus if you will.”
“Why are you yelling at us? We didn't tell you to do that. It seems like you're more miserable now then you were when you and Kelsey were a thing. If you could call it that.”
“Ew, I just got chills and not the good kind.” Clay confessed and Urban stifled a laugh.
“We needed to. I wouldn't have done it if I didn't think it was important. She literally had all of us looking for her for hours and didn't even think to let anyone know that she was okay.”
“Still better than Kelsey in my book.”
“URBAN!” Neelam scolded and he held his hands up in defense.
“Just call her.” Clay said as he picked up Jack's phone and handed it to him.
“She probably doesn't want to talk to me.”
“Hmm, I wouldn't either after I left my husband, quit my job, and moved back home to be with you and then you break up with me.”
“URBAN, FOR THE LAST TIME WE DIDN’T BREAK UP.”
“But yall are not together though.” Clay said while taking a long sip of his smoothie as he was backing up Urban and Jack sighed.
“Not too much on my mans now! He fumbled a baddie though.” 2fo piped up with cheeto stained fingers as Jack shook his head.
“Jack…. I don't know who allowed you to be an adult because the math is NOT mathing when it comes to you and making decisions regarding relationships. Y/N is EVERYTHING you want! And you have your opportunity right in front of you! Go and call your girl.”
Jack didn't have a chance to respond as his phone vibrated in his hand to see that it was a facetime call from you.
“Look at his face, it's her!”
“ANSWER IT!”
Once your face popped up on the screen, Jack could tell that you had been crying and immediately asked why you were upset.
“Buttercup, what's going on?”
“Are you by yourself? Because this can't wait.”
“Give me a minute.” Jack responded as he left the room to walk down the hallway.
Once he was in a secluded corner, he asked you to tell him what was going on.
In response you simply switched the camera view to show a piece of paper and the section that was highlighted on it.
Jack's jaw had now hit the floor.
He had to read it multiple times to make sure he had read it right.
“Is that? Is that real?” He quietly asked and you got a dumbfounded look on your face as you turned the camera back to you.
“That was a dumb question. I'm sorry, but how?”
“She's saying that when I did it the first time, it's possible that it was too early and that's why.”
“Fuck.”
“That's all you have to say?” You asked catching a slight attitude because you were growing increasingly annoyed.
“I just… I'm surprised that's all and I definitely wasn't expecting this.” Jack said, attempting to plead his case.
“And I was?”
“Y/N, please. The last thing I want to do is fight with you. We're going to get through this.”
“There is no we in this unless we're together and last time I checked, we weren't. And keep in mind that was your choice. You left when I needed you the most and didn't even think twice about it. You saw that I was hurting and what did you do? Decide that it wasn't the best idea for us to be together even though you knew how bad I wanted to be.”
“Buttercup….”
“I'll talk to you later I guess.”
“Wait!”
Before he could get another word in, you hung up the phone.
Shizurui's feelings for each other headcanons (can't believe i've not done this yet, i should have my badge revoked, honestly-)
- as i'm pretty sure all us like... five Shizurui-ers agree, Rui definitely fell first
- minor celebrity crush ever since he was introduced to MMJ! that he didn't think would mean anything. but then after he properly spent time with her on the school trip?
- kaboom, cue falling head over heels queerplatonically <3
- disaster. absolute disaster, he is. he's so obvious about it despite his best efforts not to be
- during W x S rehearsal, Emu'll be chatting about her school day and who she talked to- everyone else catches on to how Rui seems more interested in her rambles immediately after Shizuku's name's mentioned
- even Leo/need finds out about it through Tsukasa and Emu and are gossiping about it. a bit of Shiho has withered away and died at the thought of her sister getting close with Tsukasa's somehow even more chaotic friend /silly
- Shizuku doesn't realise SHE likes him more than an acquaintance, let alone being aware of the other way round
- she subconsciously tries finding excuses to spend time with him <3
- "oh dear :(( i broke the microwave again :(( i suppose i'll have to call Kamishiro-san :(( and he'll spend time telling me how to fix it :(( such a shame... :)"
- it helps that all her friends now direct her to Rui when she has tech issues since they're aware the two know of each other's existences now!! they all reckon it's a miracle they met, since he's the rare one who won't ever get tired of explaining anything related to tech again and again <3 (especially since it's her)
- she definitely takes advantage of that without meaning to. whattt, just wanting to talk to him? as far as she knows, she's just mysteriously become more aware of how often she struggles with computers and appliances!!
- Tsukasa unintentional, oblivious wingman?? TSUKASA UNINTENTIONAL, OBLIVIOUS WINGMAN!!
- "ahaha, Shizuku!! absolutely wonderful show last weekend, we all went to see it and agreed it was marvellous!! especially Rui, actually, i recall him murmuring that you looked "ethereal," haha!! i'm sure he was quite impressed by the stage lighting then!!"
- rest in peace, Rui Kamishiro, he died too young
- 'tis all well though, since Shizuku, OF COURSE, believes he was just on about lights. (and was totally NOT disappointed when she heard Tsukasa's conclusion, nope, not at all, that would be so silly, to expect Rui was complimenting HER and not just the technical aspect of the show, wouldn't it? these idiots /most affectionate)
- Nene makes fun of Rui endless
- once she (almost immediately) pieced it together, she started doing shit like playing a Shizuku focused song to grab his attention when he's absorbed in tinkering and completely tuning everything else out. and then she loses her mind when it WORKS
- "oh, so THAT makes you finally look up?"
- Emu, the most emotionally intelligent character in the game, in my (correct) opinion, also just knows instantly and definitely thinks they're adorable and is VERY straightforward about it
- "Rui-kun, Rui-kun, i have the most WONDERHOY idea, wahahahaha!! you and Hinomori-senpai should TOTALLY go on a DATE over there, at the Ferris Wheel!! :D "
- "...!!"
- "ehhhh?? are you okay?? you look like your heart went crash-bam-boom!!"
- "... Emu-kun, we are very lucky i had paused eating just now because i do not believe you are quite vertically gifted enough to perform the Heimlich maneuver on me."
- Emu wingman number two? Emu wingman number two!!
- it actually gives Rui so much stress that Emu goes to the same school as Shizuku, cause you just know she might let something slip without even meaning to. not like Shizuku would catch on in the vast majority of cases though
- you could have all their friends waving a massive sign at her reading "RUI KAMISHIRO LIKES YOU" in gigantic, lit up letters and she'd be like "aww~ that's so very sweet, i didn't know Kamishiro-san was such a passionate fan of idols!! hehe, i'll remember to thank him for supporting our group so much...!!"
in conclusion: one of them is as oblivious as one can possibly get while the other gets to be nothing of the sort, thanks to his friends constantly reminding him of his feelings at every chance!!
reading through your page. do you have any random headcanons of mk characters that aren't bi-han?? i'd love to hear them.
Thank you for sending me this ask. I won't lie, it was a difficult one to answer since Bi-Han is the only character I care about in the entire franchise. (Him being back as Sub-Zero was the only selling point of MK1 for me and his fate in the dlc is the reason why I stopped playing the game by now.) You could say, Bi-Han is MK to me.
I dislike most of the characters on the MK1 roster and I'm indifferent towards the rest of them, so I never bothered coming up with headcanons for any of them or trying to understand and analyse them on a deeper level. However, I still wanted to properly answer this ask, so here are some headcanons I came up with on the spot. I also posted a Kuai Liang headcanon a few days ago that you can read here if you want.
MK1 random headcanons:
Tumblr media
Kitana and Mileena:
Being twin sisters, Kitana and Mileena used to often wear matching outfits when they were younger. They even wore the same hairstyle until Mileena entered her rebellious phase and shaved her hair. While Mileena's outfits became bolder, Kitana maintained a more conservative and traditional style. Sometimes it makes her sad that Mileena and her drifted apart so much, but she's still determined to support her sister wherever she can.
Li Mei:
Li Mei loves flowers, specifically lilies, but she has a soft spot for all kinds of plants. Her home in Sun Do is filled with potted plants in all shapes and sizes. Caring for them helps her unwind after a stressful day at work and she loves coming home to her own little garden too. She spends a lot of her free time there, tending to her plants or meditating.
Liu Kang:
Liu Kang is very lonely deep down. He misses his old friends, especially Kung Lao, and it pains him that he can no longer be a part of their lives in the same way he used to be before he became a god. Of course, he's happy to see his former companions thrive in the new era he created, but he can't deny that it hurts to no longer fit in. The people he once shared playful banter with look up to him for guidance now. He doesn't speak to anyone about his loneliness, only Geras knows since he became Liu Kang's best friend as well as his closest confidant over time.
Ashrah:
Ashrah adjusted to her new life as an Earthrealmer pretty quickly. She's grateful to have been offered a home and she's determined to prove worthy of it. She knows she still has much to learn, but she enjoys studying Earthrealm customs and traditions. She hopes that Earthrealm can become a home to Sareena as well, but she's also aware of how Sareena's nature as a demon still draws her to the Netherrealm. Her biggest fear is losing her last remaining sister to evil too. Despite her dedication to her search for absolution, Ashrah is unsure if she could ever bring herself to kill Sareena if it came down to it.
Sareena:
Sareena still hasn't fully forgiven Ashrah for the deaths of Kia and Jataaka. A part of her wishes the four of them were still together in the Netherrealm. She doesn't know if she will ever be able to call Earthrealm her home in the way Ashrah does and she's afraid of inevitably disappointing her sister by returning to her old ways.
Johnny:
Johnny still keeps a couple of handwritten letters to Cris that he never had the courage to send buried somewhere in one of his desk drawers. No matter how badly he misses her and how much he regrets that so much was left unsaid between them, for once in his life he doesn't want to be selfish, so he respects her decision to move on. It takes him a while to get over the divorce since he really loved Cris and although he continues to be his usual flirty and playful self, he's not sure if he's ready for a new relationship yet.
Tomas:
As a former hunter, there is a part of Tomas that enjoys the thrill of hunting and killing. To him, it's almost like a game, which is unusual for a Lin Kuei since they only fight for duty and to protect the realm. That side of Tomas is possibly owed to the Enenra and it's also the reason why Bi-Han is wary of him and doesn't consider him a true Lin Kuei.
Kenshi:
While he wouldn't necessarily call himself a sports fan, Kenshi has developed somewhat of a fondness for football since he became friends with Jax. Whenever Jax goes to watch a football game, Kenshi is happy to tag along. He enjoys the stadium atmosphere and finds it interesting to listen to his friend ramble about the teams and their strategies.
I hope you like these! I did my best, but you can tell I'm awful at writing anything non-Bi-Han related. Regardless, this was fun to write.
⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️
And since I haven’t seen a request for it recently:
🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼
Yay thank you!!!
42 for 🌲:
---
“A mother knows her daughter,” Ramon says. “Of course, I’m worried. But I’m following my wife’s lead on this.”
Eddie is outraged. Beyond outraged. They’re her parents. How can they be so flippant about her safety?
He makes his outrage knowns. Snaps at Ramon that if she ends up dead, it’s on them.
Then he calls his sisters. Both of them. Not at the same time. He leaves several voicemails for Adriana. None of his attempts even ring. Her phone is off. Sophia, of course, answers.
“I’m so mad at Mom,” Sophia fumes. “I don’t… I don’t understand. If this was Ellie, I’d be raising hell trying to find her.”
“Same with me, if it was Christopher,” Eddie agrees.
“Well, I’ve called the El Paso Police,” she says. “I’m going to go give my statement and see what can be done.”
“Thank you. God,” Eddie says, wiping tears from his eyes. “I’m so fucking scared.”
“We’ll find her, Eddie,” Sophia says. “We have to.”
And since Sophia has always been the reasonable one among them, Eddie believes her.
🌲
They don’t find her.
The police don’t take it seriously at all.
They don’t hear from Adriana. Not a word.
Sophia stops speaking to their parents. Disgusted by them, same as Eddie. Eddie does, but… But less. He feels a huge chasm of misunderstanding between them now. Even bigger than it was before. Their inaction plagues him.
he two nurses - Clara and Sammy - have a green and purple glow, respectively. No matter how much he blinks, it doesn’t go away.
Buck must be losing his mind. He thinks this is probably psychological, not physiological. He’ll go to an optometrist. He’ll go to a shrink. But he’s not staying here any longer. He’s clearly going insane.
“Well, then… If you’re sure you’re fine… And all your levels and our tests suggest you are… We have no more reason to keep you.”
So Buck is discharged.
After being pronounced dying and scaring everyone into thinking he’s patient zero in an unknown disease outbreak. He’s discharged. They tell him the best explanation is a severe reaction to an unknown trigger. Kind of a weak explanation, but Buck doesn’t know what else he’d think, either. It’s all sort of a mystery. Whatever. Buck is just glad to be going home.
Buck keeps his eyes downcast as he leaves the hospital. Everyone he sees is sort of a headache. Bright, intrusive colors that he can’t ignore, pulsing and buzzing around people like neon signs. It’s going to give him a headache. And, if they know what he’s seeing, they’ll commit him to a psych ward.
Buck feels bad about whatever this must mean for him until he sees Maddie. When he lifts his head to see Maddie, waiting to pick him up, he can’t regret whatever is happening to him. Psychosomatic or not. Because Maddie is utterly surrounded by a brilliant golden light. She looks sort of like an angel. Like a heavenly creature. Buck stands and gapes at her for a minute, unable to hide his astonishment.
“Evan?” Maddie asks, seeing his vacant, awed stare. “Evan, are you okay?”
“I’m… Wow, Maddie…”
Uh, yeah. He’s blowing his cover for sure.
Maddie hurries across the waiting room and pulls him into a hug. He half expects her touch to burn him, but it doesn’t. She feels the exact same as always.
Because Shannon can list a lot of them. Their son is alive. He’s healthy. He’s happy. They can afford his needs. But what pain did they avoid? Shannon isn’t sure. Not that that’s all on Eddie. It isn't, remotely. But neither of them was dealing with their emotions properly. And where did it get them? Now they are just two people who love each other but broke what they have in a way Shannon worries they can’t ever fix.
“I…” Eddie tries to answer. “I don’t… We’re all alive.”
Shannon nods. “Yeah. But I think we both know you want more than that.”
His face twitches. “I told you, that’s not an option.”
“Because you’re avoiding consequences?” She asks.
He shrugs. “I guess so.”
“What consequence, Eddie?” She asks, “Genuinely, what is it that scares you the most?”
He’s intense in his silence. Weighing the pros and cons of telling her.
“Just be honest,” she begs.
Eddie sighs. “That if… If one door opens another closes. Permanently.”
Shannon’s shoulders drop. “Eddie…”
He looks away from her.
“Eddie, I…” She exhales heavily. “You know why I’m not ready to… To talk about that, right?”
