So uh. Maybe I'm just really stupid, but despite being in this fandom for a year now I for some reason was convinced that Killcheroy killing herself was like, canon, because of how widely accepted that theory is in the fandom and spoken of as if it's fact. But after looking through all of Fuuta's stuff again (voice dramas, music videos, the like,) I've come to realize that not only is Killcheroy's actual cause of death never actually confirmed, but I've also realized something else: Y'all I really do not think this girl killed herself lmao. In fact, I am very confident that she didn't kill herself, mainly due to the fact that, as we know, Milgram has a very specific motif when it comes to characters who have committed suicide or have themes of suicide in their character

Mahiru and Kazui's victims both have a shoe off, because both of them died via suicide

Muu is often presented with only one shoe, because she is implied to be suicidal

Fuuta's victim also has a shoe off, because as we know she died of-- ...Huh? Oh shit. Both shoes are intact. Now I've seen people, though often briefly, point that out before What I don't see pointed out however is that Backdraft has three perfect opportunities to follow up on the shoes motif, and just doesn't.

These are the first two I wanna talk about. Killcheroy's shoes are perfectly in view, yet both of them are still in tact. Since this whole scene is basically a creative reenactment of Killcheroy's death, wouldn't it make sense for one shoe to be off if suicide was what took her out? But at the same time, these scenes are still depicting her when she is 'alive,' so maybe it wouldn't make that much sense for a shoe to be off in this particular scene. But what about after she burns up? That's where the third scene comes in

Even after she dies, her shoes are not there. Milgram is a series that loves including small, blink-and-you'll-miss-it details. If Killcheroy really killed herself, there's no way her shoes wouldn't be visible in these shots as Fuuta's running away, right? And this shoe motif, coupled with the fact that when looking at what we have, there's no actual evidence that Killcheroy killed herself (to my knowledge) makes me doubt this theory a lot more than I had when I originally assumed it was canon. So what do I think took Killcheroy out? Well, though we have no evidence that she killed herself, we do have evidence that Fuuta doxxed her.

to this one, where Fuuta is reacting to the news of Killcheroy's death, leads me to believe that this doxxing was the final bridge that caused Killcheroy's death. Now, a lot of life-threatening events can result from doxxing, for a while I was even pondering the possibility that Killcheroy was swatted and killed that way. But I think someone in Fuuta's group killed her, because the text in the MV makes it a note to specify that Killcheroy "lives close" to Fuuta and presumably the rest of his friend group since they all go to the same university and live in the same area. I can see people arguing that that would remove a bit of Fuuta's agency and responsibility from his murder, but I don't think I would agree with that. Regardless of what truly happened to Killcheroy after the doxxing, whether she was killed by someone in the group, or swatted (which I think is less likely, but is still a possibility), this presumed culprit was only able to do the things they did because Fuuta gave them the tools to. He gave them a target, Killcheroy, who he demonized and dehumanized into the role of Petulant Witch, and enough details of her location for anyone in the area to find her and enact punishment in the most direct way they can. Fuuta's story, to me anyway, isn't just about the consequences of cyberbullying and cancel culture, but also the cult-mentality of it and how others are influenced into it.

Fuuta did not come out of the womb cancelling people, but due to the injustice he saw around him and his desire to Do Something About It, he was influenced into this cesspool of online toxicity and cancel culture.

Now, it's his turn to influence justice. And boy, did he.

The air smelled of wet concrete and cigarettes, a far lighter scent than what Arthur had long grown used to. The city carried less of the heavy sun, the dry dust in the air; even the minor scent of diesel was gone, replaced with the stench of cars and the unique kind of cold. 

It wasn’t sharp, but it was damp. The kind that got into sleeves, soaked down to the bone, and stayed there. It didn’t matter how fast he walked. It didn’t matter even matter what direction he went. Busses rolled past with a hiss of tires and low mechanical growls, pigeons picked at the remains of a sandwich, entirely unbothered by the traffic. 

Arthur stood at the edge of a narrow street, beside the chipped brick wall of an old café that had closed briefly for renovation. The metal shutter over the window was tagged in something, graffiti that had been done so rushed and poorly that it was impossible to read. 

A cup rested loosely in one hand, holding something that steamed faintly in the cold. Coffee, he was near-certain. 

He looked fine. He looked alive. A living impossibility - but then again, so was Marc. 

Arthur almost felt as if he’d sensed the man before he saw him, looking up to catch his gaze; and for a split second, his thoughts flickered somewhere inevitable. Running would be pointless. 

But with any luck, he wouldn’t be murdered in the middle of a public street. 

He didn’t flinch, instead just shifting his stance slightly, as if he could come across like he’d been expecting this from the start. The same calm wrapped around him like it always had, too composed for the situation and too familiar to be accidental. His lips curled, not quite a smile or a smirk; something that didn’t fully reach his eyes. 

“Well.” His voice didn’t carry. It never did; the sound barely cut through the hiss of a passing car. 

“I’d say it’s nice to see you again, but that might be pushing it, wouldn’t it?”

In today's episode of "the universe is oh-so-funny": This shirt absolutely caught my eye in the store because of John (duh) and I just had to have it. Cut to me joking about it resembling his shirt as I presented it to people, then looking at the receipt and seeing the product name they've given it in the system... "Blouse YESS"

just as a way for me to show abby's personality better ☀️ it's about Abby and her patients.

its quite long though !!! (⁠⊙⁠_⁠◎⁠) but its sweet :3

abby is a psychologist who works at a clinic !!! her patients range from kids to adults :D so far the one that i would love to mention is Clara, a 9 year old girl who suffers from abvuse trauma. for clara's case, abby helps her to heal while jimmy helps bring justice for her by capturing the perpetrator.

recently i thought of a new patient!! this one is an elderly man named Sam who recently lost his wife. he goes to abby to help him cope with his grief. he tells abby everything about his marriage — the memories, the dreams, the moments... and sam's stories make abby think of jimmy. the same romance that sparkles between the two of them...

now, sam's wife's passing got her thinking about herself too. abby has a low blood pressure, which causes her to pass out quite often, and it always worries jimmy. she's afraid if something happens to her one day, jimmy will struggle to cope with it. and it terrifies her and haunts her mind for days until one day she can't take it anymore.

so one day, after she comes home from another session with sam, abby sits beside jimmy and asks him to make her cry. jimmy was taken aback of course — he never wanted to see abby cry, let alone being the one who caused it. but abby trusts him and says crying is a good way to cope with sadness to relief all of your bottled-up emotions. at work, she has to be tough for her patients, but today, she needs to ve vulnerable.

so, jimmy did. — he tells her about the day they met, about how he was instantly captivated by her the moment his eyes met hers. he tells her about their wedding day, how he was so nervous that he was the loudest to cry during their vows. he tells her the day tommy was born, the day tommy said 'mama', and the day when he first entered daycare. he tells her their memories together.

and she cried. of course not from sadness, but from happiness. they've been through a lot together. there were times when she doubted herself, and there were times when she was the happiest woman in the world. and she went through them with jimmy by her side.

he then pulls her into his arms and whispers, "its okay to cry, abby. i know you want to be tough for others, but with me, youre not just Dr. Abigail McGill, you're Abby. You're my wife, my best friend, the reason why I wake up with a smile everyday."

and he kisses her forehead, lingering there.

"you're a human, abby. a human with feelings. I'm here for you, to share your burdens with. i love you, no matter how you are feeling today, tomorrow, and the next day.

you're my heart."

It looks like the early morning, when the air is still cold and the heat hasn’t set in. The big kettle is already on, someone is laughing in the garden over something small. Plates are being passed around, covered in foods from their gardens and breads they have baked - children are running around safely, playing, happy. 

Joy is in the way the people lean toward each other when they talk, when they can’t get the grins off of their faces. It’s the trust that they are loved, that they are protected, that they can rest; it’s not only the feeling of acceptance, but the feeling of belonging. The knowledge that you are with your people, and that they don’t want you anywhere but here. 

Arthur sits on the steps, tea in hand, watching it unfold. He isn’t a leader, here, and he’s not the avatar of a god; he is just a man. One of the hundred hands that made this happen, that took this dangerous part of town and made it into something safe. He watches the people, knowing that they exist safely, that no one here will ever harm each other; and for a few moments, he allows himself to believe he’s brought Heaven to earth. 

He lets himself feel this by not naming it. He doesn’t hold it, he doesn’t try to possess it - he just lets himself live inside of it, breathing in the scent, existing in the sounds; and he is painfully, wonderfully happy.
