Finally got some Alice games
Tumblr media
So happy I managed to get my hands on these games. The only other Alice game I would want is Diamond Mirror World. But I'm so happy I got Hearts, vita port.
Tumblr media
If I have some free time, I might do a fan translation of the fan disk.
Tumblr media
I found Diamond at a used game store for ¥2000... Which is just crazy! This game literally has all my favourite characters, so I would really like to get Diamond mirror world. But that game is way more expensive. 🥹 So if I come across it, I'll probably buy it.

I was just going back through some Wonderful Wonder World/Alice in the Country of Hearts/Heart no Kuni no Alice stuff and I wanted to make a little post in case there’s anyone out there who doesn’t speak Japanese and is looking to get into the series with just what’s available in English but doesn’t really know where to start. This is going to be kind of an overview of what order I personally would go in with everything I’ve seen in English based on what’s good, what makes sense, and what flows well.
First off, I would strongly suggest skipping the base, main manga that’s just called “Alice in the Country of Hearts.” It’s the one that you’ve probably seen either in like a dozen small volumes or three really big ones and the thing about it is that it’s pretty long but it isn’t good and anyone who is at all familiar with the Japanese version can tell you how badly they butchered Blood’s character, which really matters since he’s the main love interest in this one. He was frankly infuriating to read and I hated him and the story and everyone I’ve seen talk about this subseries of the Alice manga agrees with me.
The other thing I would suggest is not watching the movie they put out because it’s honestly really confusing. Where I think they didn’t go in the best direction they could’ve and they really didn’t make a movie that’s watchable or at all understandable to people who don’t really know the series is that they conflated the different sequels and stuff and kind of jumped right into the Country of Joker. The other thing about it is that the pacing and the way they jump between scenes and how they go from flashbacks and dreams to the actual, current action is very confusing because there aren’t stark enough boundaries between those so you easily lose track of if you’re in a flashback or a dream or not. It might be on purpose because they thought it was a stylistic choice that would emulate the strange, confusing nature of the world, but it just makes for a confusing movie that’s really hard to follow, especially for anyone new to the series.
With that out of the way, this is the order I would read all the manga in. This is all manga that I’ve been able to either purchase in English or find translated online (Country of Clocks is amazing and @vocaotome has a wonderful, very extensive list of English translations of the Alice series stuff, if you want to go looking for any of it.)
Start with White Rabbit and Some Afternoon Tea. For the record, every Alice manga starts with a recap of her going down the rabbit hole and coming to Wonderland, so you get the background information no matter what you start with, but this one has the most about Alice outside of Wonderland aside from the main base series. Also, Peter makes for a very logical choice for a first love interest and this story in particular does a good job of really introducing the reader to the Country of Hearts and the characters and the worldbuilding and everything. This is also one I was able to get from Country of Clocks online.
Next for me would be Mad Hatter’s Late Night Tea Party. This one’s optional since I had to buy it and you can’t find it anywhere online, but I actually really liked it, which I wasn’t expecting given how much I hated the Alice in the Country of Hearts books that were also centered on Blood. However, while it is still through that same company that did that other horrid translation, I really think this version of Blood is infinitely better and makes for a great follow-up to that first introduction of White Rabbit. You also get some important plot and worldbuilding stuff with this one, which is why I have it listed second.
My Fanatic Rabbit. Like the previous one, this one is also two volumes but it’s about Elliot instead of Blood, which is honestly why I think it makes for a nice segue from a Blood-centered story, since it’s more of the Hatters. This also does get a bit more into Elliot and Blood’s backstory stuff and gives some more information there.
The Clockmaker’s Story and Love Labyrinth of Thorns. I can’t remember if these are online or not since I did buy them, but I personally really like and recommend them. Both are about Julius, and I think it makes sense to save them for last in the Country of Hearts stuff because, by now, you’ve seen Blood and Elliot and their perspectives on his character and all this stuff about him, which sets it up rather nicely. They’re both standalone, single books and I’m honestly not sure if it matters what order you read them in.
Moving onto the first sequel and the Country of Clover, definitely start Clover with Cheshire Cat Waltz since that is definitely the default and, unlike Alice in the Country of Hearts, it’s actually really good and I think it does a good job of introducing the new country and new characters. It focuses on Boris, so while Alice is reeling from suddenly landing in a new country and at first seeming to not have any of the people there with her from the Country of Hearts whom she’d gotten close to by then, he then comes in to be a familiar face and reassuring presence for her. It makes for a good dynamic and I think it helps with the introduction of all this new stuff while accurately dealing with and showing her emotions around it. You actually probably could find these at a library, too, since they’re really mainstream and did get widely published and everything.
Next up I think I’d do the ones with Ace, Knight of Hearts and Knight’s Knowledge. Similar in concept to the Boris stuff, he’s another familiar face in a new, unfamiliar place and they’re kinda just fun and short and, because it’s Ace, also pretty chaotic.
Definitely Black Lizard, Bitter Taste. This is also just my personal favorite of all the Alice manga and I love it SO MUCH. Alas, they never published an English translation so you can only find it online, but it’s sooooo good. This one is about Gray and does a lot more with the new characters from this country.
The Lizard Aide, maybe. Super optional, I know I never really liked Job’s art all that much and it is just a little oneshot so I leave that up to you, but it’s also about Gray so I’d put it after the other one.
Nightmare. Keep in mind, this is the little standalone from Clover, not The Nightmare Trilogy from Joker. Tbh this one, in my opinion, has the best of the art I’ve seen from Job and it’s kinda fun. The other thing you need to know about Job though is that they write their stuff differently than the other manga people do, so where a lot of the other manga reads like it’s all supposed to be part of this same collection of manga that’s kind of standing in for the absence of the game, Job’s stuff reads a lot more like it’s supplementary to the game. It still makes sense and it still can be fun, but it definitely has a different vibe to it and I think that’s the most accurate way to put it. This becomes especially clear in the aforementioned trilogy in Joker which I will get into later. Oh, last thing is that I thiiiink you can find this online but I seem to remember it’s pretty difficult to find, so you might have to hunt a bit, same with The Lizard Aide.
March Hare and March Hare’s Revolution. These are both really cute little standalones that focus on Elliot and I honestly like them a lot more than My Fanatic Rabbit from the Country of Hearts stuff, even though I do also like those.
Bloody Twins and Twin Lovers are definitely optional. I personally don’t like them, they frankly make me uncomfortable but, if you want to read them, I would do them probably after Elliot but you could do them before if you prefer.
Moving onto Joker, there’s only two things so definitely start with Circus and Liars’ Game because that’s all the main plot you’re going to get. Then, if you want to read The Nightmare Trilogy, go back in with that, and frame it in your mind as like if you were going to read some oneshot fanfic about Nightmare and the Country of Joker, because that’s definitely how it reads. Unlike all the others, this really doesn’t stand on its own and each of the three books are their own separate thing that don’t go together in one cohesive narrative. It’s honestly kind of weird and some of the things they decided to do in the story kind of annoyed me (like flagrantly throwing around and wasting massive McGuffins with enormous potential) but overall it is fun in the way that fanfic can be.
Love, Storms, and Flower Clocks. This is a good introduction to the crazy storm and the Twin World stuff and the mad eggs because it’s still mainly just about Alice living her normal life and, in this one, being with Julius, but while you have those familiar elements, this other stuff is then introduced as well.
Eggs of Love Come Rolling Down. This one is online only for English, and it’s just really about Humpty and Dumpty. This really should be read after the previous one I listed because it just jumps right into the mad eggs and everything and at least if you read the other one first you’ll have some concept of what’s going on.
Very optional Dia no Kuni fanbook stuff, and if you do decide that you want to start poking into that mirror world stuff, I would dredge up and look at as much as you possibly can because there’s so little of it that you really need all you can get just to understand the concept of it and what’s going on.
That brings me to my next point, which is that even though you can only get the fan translation of the first game in English, @vocaotome has detailed English summaries of a lot of the routes from all the games (except Spade) so you can kind of read through the routes and get the plot even if you can’t play the games. That being said, I have not done so myself but you absolutely can download and play Anniversary no Kuni in English on your computer if you want to do that as well. So anyway, hope this helps!

__________________________________________
Now for brief explanations:
I hc Most of heartslabyul as British because of Alice in wonderland (Set in Britain) and most of the characters are from the Queendom of roses. I Hc Cater as American because it just fits tbh.
I hc Leona and Ruggie from Kenya because that (allegedly) where the lion king is set in. I hc Jack as american because it fits (x2)
I hc all of octavinelle as Danish because of the little mermaid statue in Copenhagen and the little mermaid movie itself is set in Denmark.
i hc Scarabia as Moroccan because Aladdin is set in a Arabian country (Not said which one specifically) but i chose Morocco because it just felt like it fit.
I hc Vil as German because 1( The evil queen is German 2( Schonenheit is a German name. I hc Rook from ivory Coast because he's canonically from sunset Savanna but I wanted to choose a African country that speaks French as the main language so I picked that. I Hc Epel as Sámi, because I saw a post about how his hometown models a lot after Sámi culture, I hc that he is Sámi from Finland.
I feel like ignihyde is very self explanatory, Idia is based off Hades (Greek god of the underworld) and the Isle of woe resembles Greece
I hc Diasomnia is French only because Sleeping beauty takes place in france.
I hc Neige as Belgian mostly because He's supposed to be snow White (German princess) but his name is in French, And Belgiums main three languages are German, French and dutch.
I hc Crewel as British because he's from the Queendom of roses
I hc Trein as French because it feels right idk
I hc Vargas as Italian because Vargas is a Italian last name (i think)
I hc Crowley as French because im pretty sure he's a fae and probably from briar valley
The others are pretty explanatory I think...?

Ancestral Blood (Ikemen Revolution)
Ray and Lancelot decide to explore the ruins of the castle in the Forbidden Forest. What they find is a locked door that only their magic can open, revealing a secret lost to time itself.
───────────────⋆⋅♠⋅⋆ ───────────────
The castle in the forest had been relatively unexplored for centuries. Historians were the only visitors now, going through the place in their efforts to learn more about the country's history. However, such occasions had dwindled significantly in the past century or so. Stonework in the castle crumbled, blocking off stairwells and passageways. Animals had made their homes here, the remnants of nests scattered about. But these relics paled in comparison to the slight buzz still in the air from all the crystals that had occupied the building recently - a stockpile stashed away by the former head of the Magic Tower, Amon. While Alice the Second and both armies had located the crystals and rescued Cradle from near disaster, their ambient energy still charged the very air even after they had been removed.
It was making the hair on the back of Ray's neck stand on end.
"I'll get this next batch." The King of Hearts, Lancelot Kingsley, stepped out from his position alongside Ray and waved his hand. With a red glimmer in his eyes, the stones blocking the top of the third floor stairwell were slotted back into place within the ceiling above. Ray watched it with a careful gaze, taking in the way Lancelot utilized his magic with little effort.
"Thanks, King Lancelot," he said as the path was cleared, taking tentative steps up the rest of the stairs, ready to cast a levitation spell at any moment.
The two had come into the forest to practice magic, as had become routine after the two armies made peace. However, today, Lancelot and Ray both agreed to conduct a more practical lesson, combining it with their joint effort to examine the old fortress to ensure Amon had left no other surprises.
“The upper floor’s definitely in better condition,” Ray noted. “That makes sense, given that animals probably couldn’t get up here as easily as downstairs.”
Lancelot nodded in agreement. “Indeed. Perhaps there will be more from Cradle’s history than we expect.”
“While I would love to believe that, too, this building has definitely been ransacked before. I’m sure any thief worth their salt would have found a way upstairs, especially back then. It will be a miracle if there is anything.”
Lancelot hummed thoughtfully. “This is only a practical lesson. It’s still worth exploring.”
Surprised at Lancelot’s excitement, concealed under the guise of a “lesson,” Ray continued to follow close behind.
They investigated old guest rooms and sitting areas, a room that must have been a library - the sight of all books either gone or torn asunder broke Ray’s heart - and a couple of bedrooms, the beds stripped down to the frames for any cloth and ornamentation of value.
But as they walked, Ray ahead of Lancelot, he paused, staring.
It was a door that caught Ray’s attention.
The paint had faded with time, most likely from the broken chunk of ceiling above that now cast light upon it. It almost beckoned him closer, and Ray allowed himself to be led by the siren’s call.
The pair of double doors was tall – imposing. While some of the paint had faded with time, the blue and gold gilding was still brilliant. A heart, club, diamond, and spade trailed down on either side of the handles, an equal balance of Red and Black. Crystals were embedded into the wood and handles, and Ray reached out to take one in hand.
And a jolt ran through his body, snapping him back. Lancelot was at his side in an instant, but Ray shook his head.
“This door is locked with magic,” Ray stated.  “It felt like old magic.”
Lancelot placed his own on as well, tracing the designs gingerly before humming in agreement. “Old magic, indeed.” He stared up at the door as he drummed his fingers against it. “It’s sealed with two different kinds, I believe.”
“You can tell?”
“You learn to sense these things. My father’s magic and I were quite similar, but when I work with you, King Ray… it is vastly different. And this magic… feels just like both of those.”
Ray raised an eyebrow. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“... Let’s see just what that means.” Lancelot gestured to the other door. “Time for a test. Put your hand on as well. This time, lean into the magic.”
Still skeptical, Ray reached out, his fingers resting against the wood. This time, he allowed himself to sink into the sensation that crept along his arm, settling inside of him with a comforting hum.
“On three, ask it to open. One…”
Ray took a deep breath, his eyes fluttering shut.
“Two…”
There was crimson in his vision when he opened his eyes, letting out a sigh.
“... Three.”
Open. A command befitting a King resonated in his skull. It echoed powerfully, his magic harmonizing with the magic nestled within the door.
The crystals on the door illuminated, and opened before them. A dark room lay beyond, but Lancelot smiled and stepped forward with confidence. The dim sunlight came with, shining on darkened corners. While still worn with age and time, the room had a majesty to it.
“I do believe this room has never been explored before. I assume nobody has been able to open it.” Lancelot turned about. “This may be one of the rooms that only the first Red and Black Kings had access to.”
“What?!” Ray darted inside, casting his own ball of light – too quickly, and ambitious, as it flared up to a blinding glare, which immediately diminished when he cursed at it.
“Patience,” Lancelot chided. “I’ll manage the light.” With ease and poise worthy of his many years of practice, he split his ball of light in two, casting them to each side of the room.
They illuminated a pair of desks, facing one another. They were well-structured and elegantly carved, matched by two chairs that had seen better days. Fraying rugs covered the floorboards, with gaps visible here and there from age and decay.
“A study, then,” Ray said aloud, taking the time to head over to the desk on the right. Curiosity got the better of him, and he started tugging at the drawers. Pines from quills and unopened ink bottles greeted him, along with a few yellowed pages in a more archaic form of their current language. Deciding to not parse them right now, he placed them on the desk and intended to keep going when Lancelot called out.
“King Ray, come here.”
The hitch in his voice made Ray pause, head shooting up to look. Lancelot was starting to step towards the back of the room, a seating area accompanied by two couches and a low table. However, that was not what had caught his interest.
Ray hurried to join him, and his gaze caught the edges of gilded frames. Paintings.
The building had been ransacked over the years time and time again, so the thought of discovering anything new sent a shiver up Ray's spine.
One ball of light moved closer when beckoned, and Ray and Lancelot stared up at the paintings.
While grime and dust coated the surface, the works of art had not lost their brilliance. They were taller than either man, declaring to the whole crumbling hall that they were the most important figures present.
The man on the left had a stern gaze, light brown hair trimmed short and framing brilliant blue eyes. His chin was held aloft, proud and poised.
But the painting on the right was much more interesting, due to the people that stood before it.
"... That is the spitting image of you, King Ray."
Even when Lancelot whispered those words aloud, Ray could not believe it himself. A mischievous emerald gaze stared out across the room, but to Ray it felt as if he was looking at a mirror. It was as if someone had planted it here, for him to find.
“... Must be a coincidence, a trick of the light,” Ray said, realizing his mouth was dry as he tried to speak. “There’s no way.”
“All kinds of things are possible given how long Cradle has been established.” Lancelot stood firm on his stance, still casting glances between Ray and the painting before them.
Ray shook his head, as if to deny it. However, a small spark had lit up in his heart, growing warmer with each passing moment. His magic had reacted to the door. His abilities had allowed him to open it. And now, it was his image – his ancestor – that they found in the room before them.
He reached out a hand to touch the painting, fingers barely grazing the surface out of fear he might damage it. Staring up at the figure once more, he could almost imagine what this man was scheming behind those glittering eyes. Surely, something that his brother would sigh and complain about.
Lancelot left Ray a moment, pacing the room and casting more lights to illuminate the space. It was probably more brilliantly lit than it had ever been before, and revealed how truly ornate the room was.
“This must have been their study,” Lancelot said aloud, having most likely come to the same conclusion as Ray. “Of the two kings of Cradle.”
“To think they used to work together like this…” Ray trailed off as he finally turned away from the paintings, staring out at the room before them. “When history tells us they fought against each other, but there was a time they worked together.”
“They were brothers.” Lancelot now went towards the desk on the other side, opening drawers the same way Ray had done minutes prior. “But we can certainly assume this room has not been opened since they parted ways.”
Ray’s eyes widened. What Lancelot said was most likely true – the door had not obeyed when it was only his magic. It only reacted when both of them had opened it together, willing their magic to unlock the doors.
“... So that makes us distant relatives?” Ray asked, a teasing tone to his voices, his eyes glittering the same as the painting behind him.
Lancelot turned, chin raised high in perfect profile with the other painting. “So distant that it is barely worth a mention. You are no family of mine.”
Ray laughed then, grinning wide. “It has been centuries. But still, what a discovery. We’ll have to tell Blanc about it when we get back. This is amazing.”
“It truly is.” Lancelot gathered a few documents he had found in his hands. He doubted they would be worth anything of value, but any history from before the brothers’ war was vague at best. “Well worth our time today, indeed.”

The Tromsø Pearl Pendant Tiara
Tumblr media
Also called the Tromsø Halo tiara, this tiara is one of the newest acquisitions in the Carrington Royal Family's vaults and one of the oldest created, this tiara was once owned by Queen Anna of Tromsø (1834-1914, pictured above), who in turn, is an ancestress of Elissa, the Queen Dowager and the rest of the Wilkes family and their descendants.
The tiara was constructed in 1863 to mark Anna's husband, Henrik's, accession to the Tromsø throne as King Henrik III. The tiara is constructed of over 1,000 brilliantly cut diamonds and 21 teardrop pearls, most of which Anna brought with her when she married Henrik at 16.
Anna wore the tiara frequently throughout her time as Queen, and it was said to have been one of her favorites. Indeed, it must be so, as it was one of the tiaras she smuggled with her into the Akershus Fortress in 1872 after Anna spoke up against Henrik for invading her home country, Ålesund, and trying to execute her younger half-brother, King Mikael of Ålesund.
Anna smuggled the tiara out of the fort again in 1875 due to both rousing suspicion against her loyalties to her husband and to give as a wedding present to her eldest daughter, Princess Elsje, who was engaged to marry Bjørn, the Viscount Wilkes.
Elsje kept the tiara in her family's collection on multiple occasions and her granddaughter-in-law, Helena Malen, wore the tiara to the coronation of Queen Theresa-Marie of Carrington in 1928.
Later in the 20th century, the tiara was considered to be missing, as it did not appear on Victoria, the Duchess of Wilkes at the coronation of King Kristof VI in 1975 nor on Clara, the Viscountess Wilkes at the coronation of King Louis in 1984. The former master of the jewels for the Duke of Wilkes stated in 1993 that the tiara was too delicate and fragile to wear without the proper precautions.
When Clara's daughter, Elissa, began dating then Crown Prince Richard in the early 2000s, many in the royal circles expressed a hope that a reappearance of the tiara was imminent and when their engaged was announced, the tiara was one of the ones that many hoped to see on her at her wedding.
Tumblr media
Elissa has worn the tiara on a handful of occasions, most of those overseas to represent the Royal Family and most of the appearances occurred while she was still Crown Princess. Her first appearance wearing the tiara was to the wedding of Prince Carl-Philip of Sweden and Sofia Hellqvist (as seen above) in 2015.
Since then, the tiara has made infrequent appearances on Queen Anastasia and the Countess of Betancourt, who wore the tiara to the coronation of Queen Anastasia, the first coronation it had attended in 120 years. Other female members of the Royal Family have not been loaned the tiara by the Queen or Queen Dowager, including Princess Katherine and the Duchess of Asbury.
Some reports after Elissa wore the tiara for the first time indicated that it was a wedding present gifted to her by her grandmother, Victoria, the then Dowager Duchess of Wilkes, and that it was never intended to be loaned out to other members of the Royal Family besides Elissa and her female descendants. The tiara has not yet been loaned to either Princess Alice, Elissa's youngest daughter, nor Thalia, the Duchess of Exeter, Elissa's only daughter-in-law (the wife of her eldest son Michael), at the time of writing.

Alice of Human Sacrifice.
( Andromeda, Polarity, Void, Stellar; @emthimofnight . Emmie; @head---ache . Maria; @6larosie9 )
First Alice: Andromeda— The first Alice was a wrathful woman of the Spade. And righteously she held a sharpened blade within her hand. Never hesitating to slay those within her way, creating paths of blood that followed her through Wonderland. Deep into the darkened forest, Alice walked the line. Captured and imprisoned as embodiment of Sin. If not for the murderous wake she left behind, no one would have suspected that she had ever been.
Second Alice: Polarity— The second Alice was a fragile man of the Diamond. He sang to the world in the wonderland. He sang his twisted melodies to all on wonderland, creating the image of the sick and the disturbed. Deadly yet so beautiful, a voice just like a rose- was shot by a madman who silenced him to death. A single rose bloomed in his place with no music composed, and the one who was loved was now forgotten.
Third Alice: Void— There goes the Third Alice, she's the fairest of the Club. An enchanting and bewitching figure in the world of Wonderland. Countless strings of devotees to be her knights and pawns, creating a nation that only knew how to fawn. So there has Alice gone, crowned the country's queen. Consumed by paranoia of her own impending death. (Here's my twisted dream!) Soon the queen succumbed to a dark and twisted dream. Disguised in kindness, loathing faith, she will rule forevermore from the apex of the world.
Fourth (Fifth) Alice: Emmie and Stellar— As this passed two children went into the woods, few rarely stay. A rose gardens, a tea break, that's where the forest parts. The invite from the queen, it actually was; The Trump Card. The Ace of Hearts! The fourth Alice was two siblings, their curiosity in the Wonderland. Exploring across the world, they passed thru many doors (It's a trap, it's a trap, it's a trap. Go back. Please.. please.. pleaseee...). Coming not too long ago on a yellow boat. The stubborn big sister, and smart little brother, a nearly perfect True Alice, for the most part.. however (ah! Hahahahahahaha!)— Truth be told, both will never wake from such a lovely dream....
“Wondering in wonderland, they're lost until the end.” One of the specters -he looks like some sort of duck? Only his bill is noticeable under the hat that covers his face in darkness- finished the tale with their own saying of the end of the story. He clapped his gloved hands, as the white rabbit only looked away- emotion on her face, unreadable. But for the other both (taller, bigger than the white rabbit), they had a.. happy face? Or were they bored? It's hard to tell on the Hatter's face, since you can't see. But it's not too hard to see the King's face... but... They seemed to know the story, and multiple ways of how to tell it, maybe they are bored of it..? Oh, who knows though.
Oh?
The white rabbit mumbled something!
A question of sorts?
...
..
.
“who.. will be the next ‘Alice’.....?”
Is what she asks. To witch, the king and the hatter- didn't have an answer too. Well, they do have an answer, but it's not like they'll answer the rabbit's question. Always a worrier, such a chondriac woman.
The two don't care.

I am but a poor English speaker with limited options in this fandom but I want to try translating some of the manga that never got officially translated or scanlated online. In college, I took a medieval literature class in which I was translating Old English poetry into Modern English (for reference, OE is literally German and has nothing in common with English), so I have experience doing translations with a language that I don't know. I want to test it out but I looked all over and I can't find scans of any of the books in Japanese anywhere on the internet, so I was hoping some kind soul could help me.

Note
can you please tell me your headcanons for the nationalities of the twst boys pretty pretty please 🥺 also any other headcanons you have!!!
I love love love nationality headcanons, they're so fun to think of!! A reminder that these are my headcanons, I'm not here to start arguments. If anything does come across as offensive/innapropriate please let me know! I'll gladly fix it :)
For the most part, I based the Twst Character's nationalities off of where their stories take place (I'm not all that skilled in headcanons, apologies!!)
Alright, going in dorm order here:
Heartslabyul
Riddle Rosehearts: Icelandic/Britsh
I have him as Icelandic purely because of LeafSheep's "Begin at the Beginning," the King Said!! Nordic Heartslabyul has my heart. and ofc since Heartslabyul is based on Alice in Wonderland, he's half-British in my headcanons
Ace Trappola: British
Alice in Wonderland :)
I don't have much to say about Ace, I kinda don't think about him all that much
Deuce Spade: Irish
In coming up with nationality headcanons, I wanted to explore more areas in the British Isles for the Heartslabyul students and eventually decided on Deuce being Irish! I had more reasonings but its 5 am and I cannot think for the love of me.
Cater Diamond: American with English/German heritage
I see myself in Cater. He's one of my highest kins, so he's 100% from West Coast USA. It also makes a lot of sense he'd be American looking at how similar some nations in the Twisted Wonderland universe are to nations in our own world! Pyroxene is really similar to the United States from what I've researched, and Cater's valley accent in the English version of the game really hits the mark :)
As for his heritage, he's English because of Alice in Wonderland and German because I feel it fits him very well
Trey Clover: British
I don't think about Trey often enough sorry :(((
I love him though he's so silly
Savanaclaw
Leona Kingscholar: Kenyan
The Lion King takes place in the Kenya area, and so I put him there!
Jack Howl: American with Kenyan/French heritage
Another Pyroxien!
Kenyan because Savanaclaw was based on the Lion King and that's set in Kenya
French because I have a sneaking suspicion Jack is based on the wolves from Beauty and the Beast
Ruggie: South African
Ruggie was hard to find a headcanon for, but I eventually just took someone else's headcanon that said he is South African
Octavinelle
Azul Ashengrotto: Italian/French/Danish
All come from where the Little Mermaid is set in both the movie form and the Hans Christian Andersen form. The movie itself was set in the Mediterranean Sea, and I headcanon Azul's family to be from around the Nice, France area of the Mediterranean
Danish comes into play from the original source material for The Little Mermaid and the fact that the Coral Sea in Twst gets cold. Also to note, the Coral Sea on the map of Twisted Wonderland is close to the coast of the Queendom of Roses, which is pretty far north!
Jade and Floyd Leech: Danish
Putting these two together because twins
Pretty much the same reasonings as Azul, the book's settings and the Coral Sea :)
Scarabia
Kalim Al-Asim: Saudi Arabian
I'm going to be so honest, I don't think about Scarabia like... at all. So for Kalim, I'm going straight out of where Aladdin is supposed to be set
That also came as a problem, because the movie has a habit of mashing Middle Eastern cultures together. Though I did find that the movie takes place in the Arabian Desert which narrows where Aladdin was filmed to a myriad of countries, one of which is Saudi Arabia
I decided to go with Saudi Arabia since a majority of the desert does reside within that country.
Jamil Viper: Saudi Arabian/South Asian
Same thing as for my headcanons with Kalim, and I got the South Asian headcanon from a mutual on TikTok
Pomefiore
Vil Schoenheit: American with German heritage
Hollywood star here, folks!
German heritage because of Snow White's setting :)
Epel Felmier: Finnish
Ok for this headcanon I went off of the Harveston event
(hey future Bon edit here when its not 5 am and running off of no sleep)
Rook Hunt: Australian
This headcanon is for shits and giggles
It's a running joke between me and my friend that Rook is not French and is faking the accent to sound more "beautiful"
I don't know why we chose Australia specifically but it came to fruition
He can't speak proper French he's literally calling Vil the King of Fish
Ignihyde
Idia and Ortho Shroud: Greek
Hercules is set in Greece!
Diasomnia
Malleus Draconia: French
For Diasomnia I went off of movie settings once again, and Sleeping Beauty is heavily implied to be set in France!
I really feel like I should explain more but that's really most of my headcanons for them, where their movies are set
Silver: French
Silver is tough to pin down since we don't know if he's even originally from the Briar Valley, but I went with French as well
Sebek Zigvolt: French/German
(Bon please please please come back to this)
Lilia Vanrouge: French
I actually have so many nationality headcanons on this dude its not even funny
I imagine him as French, Romanian, and Dutch
And for funnies:
Royal Sword (and Rollo) (excluding the dwarves)
Neige LeBlanche: American with German/Finnish Heritage
Che'nya: British/Russian
Rollo Flamm: French
