It took them 4 hours to get ready because Francis spent 3 of them begging Arthur not to wear socks with sandals.

Do you think you can do the allies + axis (separate) x a bratty s/o that’s super needy but constantly try’s to demand stuff and boss them around and is just kinda a very run of the mill brat. Like how would they deal with them?..and can it be a bit nsfw….pretty please with a cherry on top..
hehe sure ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧ here you go ! 🪄
{ request } allies & axis x a bratty! s/o 💭 . ★⋆. ࿐࿔
type/content warnings • nsfw content , established relationship , they/them pronouns used , mentions of bondage , marking , rough sex , sub/dom dynamics
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
allies ♥︎
america/alfred f. jones
he finds their neediness kind of cute, writing it off as something that just comes with being in a relationship with them. soon, he comes to find out just how bossy they are. usually, he's a pushover and it's fairly easy to make him do the stuff they want, but every now and then he doesn't give in, puts his foot down and reminds them he too can be bossy, in charge and, that he knows how to put a brat in their place. they must be careful with whatever sexual favor they ask him to do, because he might just turn around and make them do it instead (i feel like he'd be petty in that way, and use them for his entertainment) 'can't tell me what to do now that your mouth is full, huh? '
england/arthur kirkland
whenever his partner is acting up─if he feels like it─he'll take the calm route and plead with them. 'please, love, behave...' however, if he's feels they are demanding too much from him, his attitude will switch up. he'll be very domineering, crass and rather rough with how he handles them from then on.
'say it... who do you belong to?'
france/francis bonnefoy
he gives them what they want, within reason. if they demand too much, don't worry, he puts up a good bargain. when they continue to act up, he'll turn serious─giving them one final ultimatum. "do as i say, or you will be shown who is truly the boss here." knowing them, and how they act...france gears up to give them something he's sure to make them behave... at least for a little while
canada/matthieu williams
seeing as he is already bossed around by his colleagues, they can bet he is not going to take the same treatment from his own partner. he's quick to make himself known as the one in charge, faster than they thought. he tells them to 'shut up and quit with the brattiness before i fuck it out of you' in such a sweet voice, it sounded more like a loving promise than a threat.
russia/ivan braginsky
don't. even. try. he shuts that bratty act of theirs down so quick, they barely have time to start. he can only take being bossed around for so long , until he finally has enough. he has his hands wrapped tightly around their waist as he rests his chin on their shoulder. "please behave, won't you? it will make me very happy. you want both of us to be happy, yes?" and in case they couldn't tell, that's russian for don't fuck around and find out.
china/yao wang
he's very secure in himself that─he doesn't feel the need to intimidate them into submission. he doesn't do everything they ask of him, only the things he wants to do or wants them to enjoy. he has his own special way of dealing with them and that's getting them hot and bothered enough to try and rile him up. do things for him. that's right, china finesses his way into making them do something for him instead of the other way around. it usually involves promising them some type of reward for good behavior. but first, they must please him and act accordingly. "...you're doing so good for me." he praises.
axis ♥︎
n. italy/feliciano vargas
has a method similar to china's. it's a give and take relationship. italy does a few things for them, and in return they behave.
usually turning out really wholesome, with italy cuddling with them since they're soooo needy─he admits that it kind of turns him on when they boss him around so much. "i wouldn't mind being there anytime you need me." he sighs happily, burying his face deeper into their arms.
germany/ludwig beilschmidt
he usually likes it when they tell him what to do. he's a very organized man who is very good at following orders. he doesn't like it so much when they act like a brat, so he makes sure to take care of that ASAP. he's lowkey begging them to behave, telling them that he'll do anything to make them act right...not knowing that he's kind of allowing them to act up even more. poor germany...he's a lil' confused but he's got the spirit. "if i fuck you like this, then will you behave?"
japan/kiku honda
he's literally like no then goes on to use shibari as a way to torture them into submission. "if you keep acting like that, i'll have you tied up everyday from now on." it's a tempting threat but they know that japan's willpower and discipline could really mean that he'd have them tied up without relief for a long, long time. it's their choice on whether or not they want to behave, but they will always know what will happen if they don't. this makes it especially exciting for japan, with him knowing that their behavior will be unpredictable each day.
s. italy/lovino vargas
he lets them carry on throughout the day, holding himself back and pretending that their brattiness does not have any effect on him. that is, until the end of the day, where he makes them beg before him. he would want to hear them plead for him to not be so rough, when that was all he could think about the entire day. he ends up leaving a few marks behind to remind them what will happen if they don't behave. "mmm." he hums lowly. "this is what you get for trying to tell me what to do..."
prussia/gilbert beilschmidt
okay so, it takes him a while to get bothered by it because their brattiness is all just kind of a game to him. sure, he gives them what they want but as he slowly sees that they won't be satisfied until they get a rise out of him, he begins to think of ways he can tease them back, make them beg him to stop. he laughs when he sees his brat whine. "is this not what you wanted?" he grins. "i know it's what i wanted." prussia revels in his ability to make them act like this. he hopes that they continue simply because he loves the feeling of dominating them.

please tell us your fruk wedding ideas 👁️👁️
oh i have so many thoughts… too many thoughts…
i actually made a template similar to those “my OTP in a nutshell” kinda things but it was specific to weddings. i haven’t released it bc i wanted to draw wedding fruk first
but anyway… fruk wedding
i suppose i’ll just go with a FACE background and whether or not you interpret this as humanverse or nationverse is up to you
i like to think they’d have an outdoor wedding - it’s a spring garden kind of setting. their wedding is rather small and intimate, basically it’s just family and close friends. so honestly, if someone’s home has a beautiful garden out back or lives near the woods, it’d be perfect
lots of florals… i think floriography is important to fruk, but i can’t help but think irises, lavender, and roses are in abundance. i can’t decide what arthur’s favorite flower is, but it’s probably something you could find on an adventure through the woods - something small and unassuming, but once you keep seeing them around on the trail they become a welcome company
the outfits…
arthur’s simple -> he’s going for a suit. arthur isn’t one to dress flashy, so he’s probably not wearing any atypical suit colors, but i imagine he would have a new suit tailored specifically for the wedding. i think he’s a very nostalgic and sentimental person, so it makes sense to me that he’d want to have such a special outfit rather than picking old reliable from the closet
meanwhile… i CANNOT choose what i want francis to wear, there’s so many options. GNC francis is very near and dear to my heart. fran would either pick a white suit with a lavender colored tie, maybe some sort of pantsuit, or an actual dress. the dress i have in mind (and in my pinterest board for fruk wedding) is off the shoulder and form fitting with a decent train. i think the shape i’m imagining is called “trumpet” — it’s a looser fit than a mermaid shaped dress around the legs. i love the idea of francis in lace. regardless of what francis is wearing, i need fran to have a veil… i just think he loves the drama of it. veils are beautiful and the lacework on the hem is usually a work of art on its own. francis would have different outfits between the ceremony and the reception… maybe the dress for the ceremony and a suit for the reception? at the one (1) wedding i’ve ever been to, it seemed like a nightmare to wear such a big dress for the whole evening. eating in white clothing also seems like a nightmare
i’d like to look into english and french wedding traditions when it comes to the reception and other things they’d do, but i think it’d be endearing for matthew and alfred to be involved — they’re their sons!!!!!! i don’t CARE if they’re adults, matt and al are happy to see their fathers (finally) tie the knot. matt would be the ring bearer and al would be the flower person, serving as much sass as he can without stealing the show
i’m not sure how traditional their wedding would be. i’m not a big fan of the concept of “giving the bride away” and what it stands for, but i will admit it’s cute to imagine one of Fran’s friends or Lucille walking him down because he’s sentimental, too, and also likes the attention that comes with walking down the aisle
oh god the food… francis is such a snob when it comes to food and i know they would’ve spent ages coming to an agreement on what they’re serving and who is catering (if catering is even the right word for such a small gathering). arthur and fran have such different tastes in food. i honestly think picking their cake would’ve been easier. speaking of, their cake is probably a simple sponge cake with berries and minimal frosting
rings,,, i feel like they have simple wedding bands, probably engraved or something. i can never decide how the proposal went, who proposed, where, what the ring is like, etc. i want them both to have engagement rings!!!
if i have any more thoughts ill tack on, but thats it for now
but overall fruk’s wedding feels very… homely. not rustic, but everyone invited is a very cherished friend, the food is fantastic, and people are happy to see them FINALLY get married. i do wonder if in the years/decades leading up to fruk official wedding, if they’d just refer to one another as their husband anyway. it’s sweet

Does Matt ever get bitter towards Alfred for all the attention he gets from Evelyn (and even Francis) while still getting away with doing whatever he wants, while Matthew is stuck being pretty much ignored by the closest thing he had to a dad, and second best in Evelyn's eyes despite being far more dutiful? He's kinda the Quiet Kid™ to Alfreds Golden Child™. I know in fanon they're usually portrayed as pretty close but theres got to be a few times where resentment sparks up. Theres got to be some sting especially when Al and England act like theyre the "adults" and Matts just the right-hand man.
He has his moments, yeah. Not at all in modern day I think, though. But in the past he kept it to himself and it bubbled and boiled and then he gets his mum's full attention for maybe six months and then he mellows out like oh yeah. She treats me and Alfred different because we are different people. Makes sense.
Like, he was very bitter in 1921 for instance. The fact that he could only get Evelyn to understand the need to end her relationship with Kiku was by using Alfred as leverage and not himself really ate at him. It was a reminder of where his placement was, and then in turn where Jack's was. All of the kids really distance themselves from her in the 1920s, and only come back in '39 once the war kicks off and old habits die hard.
But at the same time, he loves his brother, and he loves his maman. He had long stints of time where he was on the sole receiving end of her attention for sure, but yes, he's always a little jealous over her. Not envious of her attention on Alfred, though. I think that's a distinction. My Matthew and Evelyn are very similar. They repeat each other's words and opinions and dont ever realise they're doing it. They can get quite jealous and irrational over each other.
But at the end of the day, Mattie is a genuinely kind person and is much more empathetic than his mother. He sees what's going on in front of him - for all the love and attention England wants to give, America makes her absolutely miserable at times. Anytime Matthew has done that, Alfred's at the core of it somehow.
So... it's a mixture of resentment at someone who he sees as throwing unconditional affection back in England's face (and he's seen and knows what conditional love does to a person following Francis' departure) rejecting what he sees as a genuine support pillar. He's jealous that his mum keeps trying to put energy into someone who for a long time wants nothing to do with her. He understands why Alfred does so. He wishes he could throw his weight around the way Alfred does, but at the same time, he's just not naturally inclined to.
But! He grows out of it. They all do. The shock to the system in 1921 was so necessary at the end of the day. He's a lot more than a middleman between the push pull of Alfred and Evelyn.
I do like the idea of he and Jack, too, wanting that same level of influence that Alfred exerts and either A) Looking and realising they are not willing to pay the price to have it, or B) yeah, they're just a bit resentful that they haven't been able to claim as much of the pie. They, too, have ambition and want to change the world. They'll never have the means to do it. I can see that being a source of resentment too, perhaps just as much or if not more at times than anything to do with their mother.

Hws Scotland is the king of silent gestures that he doesn’t acknowledge. I touched on it in part one of my ramblings tonight (and I think in an old post ages ago) but Alistair doesn’t know how to have/like having emotional conversations. He shows how he cares through gestures, like making you a cup of tea after a long day or going out and buying your favourite snacks because he noticed you ran out. And he doesn’t want or expect credit for it. He did it because he wanted to, don’t read into it. While he won’t ask whats bothering you, he’ll listen if you tell him.
I think hws England is similar (eventually I’ll coordinate my thoughts on exactly these two are really similar and make a proper post). It’s more obvious when Arthur cares though, while he has a good poker face when he tries, in everyday life his emotions are written all over his face. He’ll visibly worry when someone he cares about is sick or hurt and you can read the indecision on his face when he doesn’t know how to comfort someone. While I think Alistair is the type of guy that’d go deal however hurt the person he cares about, yet deny doing so. Arthur is more prone to getting stuck thinking about what’s the best thing to do/way to help.
Who they care about might also play into how I view this. Like I see Scotland as being close with France and Francis is very good at reading people’s intentions and doesn’t necessarily need someone to verbally express their feelings (kinda feel like Francis is a quality time kinda guy). Whereas, while Arthur’s also close with Francis, he’s also close with America and I think that sometimes Alfred needs verbal confirmation of someones feelings- though I do think that most of the time Alfred can read Arthurs intentions in his actions because I stick by my old headcanon that they know each other really well.
Basically, sidenote, Arthur gives me ‘do as I say not as I do’ energy. He’s the type of person that will say he’s not going to help you tidy up while picking the clothes off the floor. Whereas Alistair just kinda gives me the energy that he just downplays the nice things he does. Honestly idk, I’ll probably change my mind about all of this, not entirely sure of my thoughts on it. Let me know if yous have any opinions on it.

allies plus spain and austria revealing that theyre nations to their s/o? Love ur writing btw <33
Thank you (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)
America
Alfred wouldn’t be that nervous to tell you the truth
Y’all have been together for a while now and he thinks that this will change nothing between you guys
He just tells you nonchalantly during another conversation
Like “yes you have absolutely have to pour the cereal first t h e n the milk oh btw I’m a country haha”
Alfred would get serious though depending on your reaction
If it’s good and you kinda believe him/roll with it/laugh it off he’ll be more assertive and show you proof of what he is
If you have a bad reaction and you get mad and ask why he never told you/what this means for your relationship Alfred gets super serious and takes your anger or grief maturely
Either way he wants to do all that he can to make you believe him while also keeping you as a S/O
Canada
Matthew takes a more serious and thought out approach
He thinks this conversation will change everything between the both of you
That’s what he’s so scared of and why he needs to take this super seriously
He’s gonna tell you that you both need to talk
Once he tells you he waits for your reaction to see if he can lighten up or if he needs to keep the serious atmosphere
If you need proof Matthew has it on him
If you need time to process he’ll give you how ever long you need
And if you’re scared of him/what’s gonna happen to your relationship he will do everything in his power to make you feel safe and secure again
The last thing Matthew would want from this is to lose you or your trust
England
Arthur is so serious it’s scary
I mean you can tell he’s been thinking about this for a while now because his mood has been down for the past few weeks
He’s just terrified of what you might do or think of him
He knows his past can be questionable, he knows his immortality can be scary to think about, and what bothers him the most is that he knows nothing about what your reaction could be
So he just sits you down over breakfast and tells you outright what he is while showing you pictures of him, France, Canada, and America to further prove himself
Arthur would be surprised if you had a good reaction to this, he would be expecting yelling not a gentle and accepting reaction
If you starting yelling or seemed to be panicking Arthur would try to calm you down but he’s also starting to panic and worry himself to death
No matter the reaction Arthur will try his hardest to remain calm and collected so it’s easier on you to process and hopefully accept
France
Francis wants to take a lighter less serious approach to this
He feels sitting them down for a serious talk will freak them out or make them think him being a country is a bad thing
So Francis decides to tell you at the end of a good day
He brings proof and keeps his tone light and calm in hopes to keep you level headed
He would be the most understanding and best at consoling his S/O if they were angry or overcome with worry about this
This isn’t his first rodeo after all
If you take the news well he politely asks if you want him to stay with you or leave for now so you can think some more without him there to possibly cloud your judgement
Francis is among the most worried about the decision you make after processing this
He’s been left behind before for many different reasons and hopes that the only reason you may leave him is because of old age
Russia
Ivan has no idea how to start this conversation with you
He’s terrified of what you may think of him, if you’ll view him like everyone else does after you knew the truth
Might unintentionally lock himself away in his office so he can think and try to curb his worry
It doesn’t work really but he eventually invites you into his office for a serious talk about your relationship
Ivan then proceeds to tell you literally everything, his proof is the way he retells everything he’s ever done with a scary amount of details
Reacting badly is what he expects, he won’t try to calm you down at all
Ivan will let you yell awful things at him, hit him, curse him, and blame him for everything if that’s what makes this easier for you
If you take the new well and even tell him you don’t mind/care about him being a country Ivan might cry on the spot
He isn’t used to people truly caring for him like that so having you say that and want to stay with him is more than anything he could’ve ever asked for
China
Yao isn’t going to beat around the bush
He doesn’t joke while reveling his true self to you
but he isn’t going to sit you down and talk all serious like
Yao just thinks he needs to tell you seriously enough so you believe him but not give you unnecessary stress by making it seem super important or scary
If you get mad and start yelling he may yell back
Yao just feels it’s unfair of you to get mad at him as if he asked to be a country and how he was supposed to tell you before hand when he wasn’t even supposed to be telling you now
If you take the news well he’ll just try to continue having a normal day with you
If you can’t do that he can respect that and give you space and time to think about the relationship and what you want to do now that you know
Spain
Antonio is similar to America in the sense that he doesn’t think it’s a big deal
He’s not fool enough to believe it won’t change anything between you at first, but he has hope it won’t end the relationship or leave a lasting scar
He brings up his status as a country very nonchalantly, showing you pictures and journals as if he was showing you an embarrassing family album
It’s going to be hard to get mad at Antonio after he tells you everything
He pretty much tells you the truth about him and his past immediately and tells you why he kept it a secret for as long as he did
If you do react badly he won’t blame you and he’ll be really sympathetic and feel guilty for dumping all this on you
If you react well and are okay with him being a country Antonio will just thank you, clear out his photos and journals, and then act like he didn’t just revel a huge secret to you
Austria
Roderich wants to take a serious approach to telling you this
He makes it really official feeling, possibly even asking you to meet with him in his office
He explains everything to you as soon as you sit down
Leaves no details out
tells you exactly who his friends Feliciano, Ludwig, and Elizabeta really are, and even shares some of the more unsavory parts of his past just so you know he’s not trying to con you or deceive you
Roderich hopes from how he put everything on the table that your reaction will at least be more confused or weirded out instead of angry or sad
If you do lash out Roderich keeps his cool and tries to talk you through it until your calm enough to think rationally
If you are confused/weirded out or take really well to the new information he will either leave you to your own thoughts until you want to speak or ask if you’d like to have some tea with him
Roderich really wants things to at least end civilly between the both of you if you won’t stay with him after learning what he is

Opinions on how Canada and America are as bros or high points of Engport over time?
Ooh ok I follow so many accs (such as yours!) that write quality Matt and Al idk if I’ll measure up, but I’ll try to say something original:
My first thought was just that they’re good bros 😂. They’re the type you can see on the street and immediately know that they’re brothers and they get along well, and not just because they look similar. (As opposed to siblings like Arthur and Alistair where the moment you walk into the same room with them you’re like 😶 what’s going on what’s the vibe here) When they’re together they make the people around them feel relaxed and at ease, because they’re relaxed and at ease with each other. However, I also believe that they’re siblings who don’t coddle each other — they tell it to each other straight, and can often be brutal af. Getting scolded by each other has more impact on them than anyone else: Al can easily dismiss a lecture from Arthur about being obstinate, but if Matt starts yelling at him to get his head out of his fucking ass, shits real. Similarly I think Arthur and most other nations have a hard time telling off Matt because he’s so nice and he doesn’t talk back, so Matt often goes to Alfred to get opinions on things with no filter.
So yeah, they’re close, but or perhaps because of that they’re also very aware of each other’s flaws (or what they perceive as each other’s flaws). Personally I think one of Matt’s biggest gripes with Alfred is his sense of responsibility/loyalty, or lack thereof. He knows that when it comes to his own duty as a nation/soldier etc. or his own people, Alfred is unfailingly loyal. But he’s wary of how Al treats others that are not necessarily bound to be within his interests — other nations, shares friends and family. A lot of this naturally stems from the fact that after Al left, all the pressure and responsibility of being the “heir” of the British Empire and the oldest child fell to Matthew. Not only that, Arthur pushed Matt extra hard and was even more strict with him because of his own hurt and fears of a “repeat” Alfred. So although Matt will never put it in as many words, for a long time he felt really bitter that even though they were brothers, twins even, Al shoved everything on Matt and pursued his own freedom. What rankled even more is that after leaving, Al tried to get Matt to join him too (by force if necessary, ahem 1812), to which Matt was like do you not understand that I have to deal with ur shit, and now ur telling me to abandon that shit on someone else and join you in pursuing an uncertain future just because you said to? So yeah, that stung. Another part of this is that Canada is friends with a lot of people that technically as an American ally he’s not “supposed” to be friends with — Cuba or Vietnam during the war are some examples. Having seen the things his brother has done/is capable of doing, he’s very aware that at any point his own relationships may be jeopardized depending on the political mood and tries to encourage Al to think about the “human” side of things in addition to the pragmatic side.
For Alfred, his main issue with Matt is that he’s a bit of a hypocrite. Like, Arthur is in many ways just as, if not more ruthlessly pragmatic than Alfred is, and yet Matthew never admonishes him; at best he gives suggestions as to what Arthur should do and if Arthur happens to insist otherwise, Matt will still follow through. Matt is also very protective of his other siblings like Zee and Australia and even HK and Singapore etc. Plus, Matt’s *ahem* relationship with Ned is something Al finds kinda iffy too — he can understand protecting Arthur or Francis, but having feelings for another imperial power is just???? No???? All these things combined make Alfred think Matthew is not so much driven by morals as personal feelings when he tells him to be nicer to other nations, and he’s not entirely wrong. It’s like Matt can condone a little bit of bullying, but not too much bullying, and his tolerance level varies depending on how close he is with the person in question. For someone like Alfred who has very clear cut values, even when he doesn’t quite act along the lines he’s set, that’s just wishy washy of Matt — dangerous, even. (This is a trait Matthew shares with Francis: both see the world in infinite shades of grey and neither like absolutes or setting hard boundaries, for themselves and for others)
I would like to answer ur engport one as well but I’m too tired today 😔 perhaps another time

could you do those feral headcanon things for the face family? i feel like you've done something similar but not just headcanons. if you have and i just missed it, i apologize!
Sure thing pal!
Arthur:
Artie was naturally feral. When he popped out of the ground, he wandered aimlessly until his mother found him
“There you are” and she dragged him back to her camp where his brothers were
He didn’t know them so he bit them
His only socialization for awhile was his mom and brothers so he didn’t exactly get to meet humans right off the bat the way other nations did as kids!
He often had chipped teeth from biting rocks or bones. His mom thought it was cute
Arthur didn’t get along with the village kids cause he was...rabid and they were not. They had traditions and a langauge and stuff like that and Art (along with his brothers) didn’t understand it...aw
He grew up pretty wild too, his pirate years were definitely some of his craziest cause he got to pretty much do whatever without consequences
Sometimes he’d cut off a finger or toe of someone he fought and wear it on a necklace. It fucking REEKED and his crew would be like dude that’s nasty but he didn’t care
He also did a lot of drugs. As a treat. He often looks back on his actions and cringes but he had a lot of fun lmao
Alfred:
When Alfred first popped out of the ground the first thing he learned to do was run
He just...ran around, sprinting like a bat outta hell through the woods. Rocks and sticks stabbed into his feet and twigs slapped him him the face
And when he got hungry he tackled a squirrel and bit it oh god uhhhh
He popped up about 5 miles from a tribe of Natives who were like...scared of him at first. Cause when a bloody child emerges from the forest at 4am, that’s not exactly a good thing
They thought he was a monster or something but after they gave him some clothes and food, he settled down by the fire and calmed down a considerable amount so...they didn’t have the heart to kick him out
He got along great with everyone! He was naturally curious, always wandering between people to check out what they were doing. He helped with tasks here and there from skinning deer to braiding hair
They were surprised by how quick he picked up on things. After only two days of teaching, he could expertly braid hair. After living with them for a week, he could skin a deer the way they showed him
He knocked his teeth out a lot cause he’d fall out of trees or get kicked in the face by animals so he’d make beads out of his own teeth. Awesome :)
Francis:
Fran popped up in the woods so he has a very similar experience to Arthur where he tuned into his instincts, made animal sounds, hunted with his bare hands, that kind of stuff
His mother found him after awhile and took him to the village where she lived on the west coast, thats a key difference between him and Arthur: his early exposure to people
He became very social very early on though he was still a brat. He would fight other kids who were physically his age knowing damn well that he’d beat them I to the dirt
He spent his teenage years killing Arthur over and over again so he developed insane assassin skills. Swords, poison, darts, knives, he knows how to use it all literally because he and his bestie just wanted to keep killing eachother
When fighting humans he’d stab them in the neck and watch them bleed out while making fun of them ‘aww! Poor thing!’...bitch...wtf
He realizes that was messed up but he was a teen then so he didn’t really know better
He has always been tame in the drug field. He tends to shy away only because he was worried about his self image...but then he’d get obscenely drunk and run around paris at 3am...the duality of man
In the 80s though he was a mess. He’d do 6 lines of coke and show up to world meetings in a fur coat sweating profusely. That’s just the way the cookie crumbles babey
He’s fallen off the Eiffel Tower before. He also pushed Arthur off of it a year later
Matthew:
Mattie is a woods child but like Alfred, he was taken in kinda quick
Mattie is a brutal fighter, as I mentioned in an earlier post. He cuts off his opponents arms and legs and punts them away. He only did that to nation oponnents though
Matt is more subtle tbh
But he does have his moments. He’ll drink a bottle of whiskey and go outside and the next morning he’ll wake up with a new bench. He doesn’t remember making a bench. Or cutting down the tree to make the bench. But he made it.
He’s eaten nails, paper clips, magnets, bolts, lots of small metal things just to see what his body does to them cause even as a nation, he doesn’t know how his body works. Turns out he just has to painfully shit it out lmao
He has also fought a bear. Did he win? No. Did he enjoy it? Also no
He has wrangled a wild moose before and rode it. I wouldn’t reccomend it and neither would he.
Michelle:
Michelle is a younger nation when compared to the other guys so she doesn’t have the same ‘I lived in the woods for months’ background
But she did pop out of the sand one day in front of a bunch of people which was startling to say the least
She was still born with her ‘animal instincts’ where she wanted to bite off fish heads and roll in mud, which she did
Her people took her in very quick though and taught her their ways so she is more ‘domesticated’ but I don’t enjoy using that term for people...but that’s kinda how it was

Do you like the idea of FACE Family? If so, what are some headcannons of them?
Yes I do actually! I hc Francis and Arthur as the boys’ parents along with RusAme for Alfred and a couple different ships with Mattie. In my hc it took a long time for Francis and Arthur to get over themselves and kiss, but now that they did they’re a very sweet old acting couple. Like some days they stay in and and just talk together, sometimes cuddling.  They’re kinda weird about accepting Ivan, Arthur thinks its fine and Alfred can handle himself around Ivan (even if he doesn’t like him much) but Francis thinks Ivan is too dangerous and could genuinely hurt Alfred- So basically, family dinners with Ivan there are tense at best, especially with Ivan and Alfred being cuddly a lot.  I also like the idea that Arthur and Alfred annoy each other to death about some stuff, like Alfred just saying stupid stuff to see his reaction or Arthur constantly embarrassing Alfred in front of Ivan- They’re more similar than they seem, with like father like son syndrome. As a result of that Arthur may do stupid things too, not as a reaction but thats just how he is. (Like running in with a suit of armor on to defeat a single spider)

Just read your hc about Alfreds intrusive thoughts and loved loved loved your characterization of him. However, it got me thinking that it’s kinda sad Alfred doesn’t tell anyone about them except Mattie, because I think Francis would be able to help, or at least understand, a lot on this matter. France is, after all, the absolute icon of internal strife and sociopolitical polarization and already has a fascination with the morbid and grotesque. I think that means Francis deals with cognitive dissonance and very very dark thoughts on the daily (The French Revolution is the natural example, but there’s also the lesser known Dreyfus Affair at the turn of the 20th century where France absolutely lost his mind). Which brings me to my question: how do you view Francis and Als relationship? Could there ever be a scenario where al shares his problems and gets some much needed advice or comfort?
Hi Anon,
So glad you like my characterization of him! I write a lot (almost all of) of my headcanons on the fly, so I’m always open to reconsidering ideas! I think it’s a good point that he probably should/would tell someone else, and I do think France could be a good option. I hadn’t thought of France as being someone who’s super experienced with the sociopolitical strife but you make an excellent point! I also think that, personally, France is a fairly sensitive person and a good listener to those he really cares about. He’s double edged that way; he can be flippant and downright cruel to people whom he doesn’t care for, but to his close friends he’s an incredibly good confidant.
I think that Francis and Alfred’s relationship is overall very good and fairly close, with a few speed bumps thrown in there. I think of all the European allies who helped America prevail over England, France was of course the one that helped the most, and I think Alfred’s friendship with France reflects that. I think that they bond a lot over philosophy, art, architecture, the finer things in life, etc. I think there was a very large and potentially long-lasting rift between them due to the French Revolution and throughout the Napoleonic Wars, in which they may have been stiff and cold towards one another. Francis is mad at Alfred for not having his back like he promised, and Alfred is mad that Francis is mad at him for making what he thinks is an obvious decision to stay out of the shit show. I personally think that when Francis heard Washington had been burned to the ground, a small part of him thought “serves him right.”
But I think they were able to bury that particular hatchet by the late 19th century, particularly after the American Civil War, which Francis was extremely relieved to see end. Alfred remained very isolated from most everyone from the Civil War up into the turn of the century, but I really see Alfred and Francis reconnecting in a meaningful way in the 1900s. Alfred barely sees heads or tails of Francis during WWI—that’s mostly Arthur’s area—but he sees him maybe once when he arrives, and once when the war is almost over. Then, I think they start to actually hang out again in the 20s and 30s, and then of course the Depression and WWII... and you kind of know the rest.
I actually see Francis having a similar relationship to Alfred as he does to Arthur, lots of bickering, rehashing of past ills between them, but whereas Arthur and Francis are very much Old Married Couple, Francis and Alfred are more like old college buddies who are very different but somehow became ride or die friends and enjoy going out together as much as they like roasting each other in public.
I can even see—when written well—Francis and Alfred having a romantic relationship, probably more of a friends with benefits sort of thing rather than anything serious. However, as I said, when done well, which it almost certainly never is. There’s a lot of weird power dynamics there that can get real bad real fast, but I think despite their mismatched personalities it could definitely work.
Alfred looks up to Francis for his romantic ideas and his breadth of experience in any number of worldly subjects, and Francis looks up to Alfred for his idealism, his curiosity about the world, and determination to devote himself fully to whatever he’s after. They think the other is hella weird in many ways, but they really do deeply respect each other.
Long story short, I can absolutely see Francis as a confidant for Alfred in some personal things, but I also think that Alfred would be very hesitant to bring him into that role and be vulnerable in that way, because Francis and Alfred, while good friends, do not always fully understand the other and how their brains work. He’s somewhat afraid that Francis won’t understand where he’s coming from. Francis would, I think, but Alfred doesn’t know that.
Thanks for the ask!

Hetalia characters in SNK universe: who would they be and what fighting style would they have, if any?
Okay this is really interesting— Hetalia and SNK are drastically different shows and the characters are so. I don’t even know 🤷 I’m gonna do the like main 8 for Hetalia bc there’s too many fucking characters and they’re the easiest to come up w shit for
- also, side note, personality’s def don’t match entirely but whatever
•======================•
Alfred: My first immediate thought is he reminds me of season 1-2 Eren. Full of ambition, a set goal in mind, determined as fuck even to the point where he’s annoying as hell— yeah it works. His fighting style would be very energetic and kinda sloppy, he’s too excited to really have a controlled style. He swings around on ODM gear and wastes a lot more than he should bc he LOOVES feeling like he’s flying
Ivan: Gonna go ahead and just say he’s like a more relaxed version of Mikasa. Kinda overpowered LMAO and...laid back?? Idk he’s mostly there for support. Personality wise I think he has more sense of humor than Mikasa and is also more a lil more petty. He also doesn’t have the same obsession that Mikasa has with protecting Alfred (Eren)
Arthur: Watch out because the insecurity alarm is LOUD. I can see him being like Jean when it comes to not really wanting to take the role of leadership, and then growing into it really well but almost to a concerning extent. I don’t know what his fighting style would be honestly? The best word I can come up with is very...free and loose. Arthur was a pirate at some point, he would LOVE flying around with the gear. Same thing as Alfred lmao
Francis: This one is hard— I don’t think he fits any of the aot characters. Honestly it hurts to say but I feel like he would be one of the characters who is introduced and we grow to love, but is killed off later to have an emotional effect on the others. He would be another happy character that’s there to help and make everybody else happy, but also strong enough to handle himself.
Yao: This is a huge stretch but basically Levi. For one, he’s old as hell. Two, his role within the allies group is kinda to be the “These fucking kids are driving me insane, but I gotta watch them.” That’s literally the only thing he has in common with Levi. His fighting style would be very lazy I feel like, as in he’s kinda just tired and doesn’t want to be there. He gets what he needs to done
Ludwig: Reiner and him are the same exact fucking character. I mean it’s all there: the gay disaster who’s haunted by his past— what else is there to say? Also very much like Reiner I can see Ludwig taking on an older brother type role within the cadet group, and overall just being very supportive. In battle he’s not very fast but stamina and his encouragement makes up for it
Kiku: He reminds me of Bertholdt, he’s anxious and just wants to go home. He has the whole “never asked for this but has to” energy, and is basically a minor character within his own trio despite being extremely important. He’s similar to Ivan in the sense that he’s mostly there in battle as a support to others, however he can go ape if desired
Feliciano: I WOULD say Annie just to complete the trio, however her character is WAYYY to gloomy. Feliciano is essentially Connie and/or Sasha— comic relief that represses emotions with humor. His fighting style is very very playful (insert that clip of Sasha laughing and letting herself freefall). He’s also VERY fast, which makes up for his lack of physical strength.
Oh my god I am so sorry this took forever to get to— I was struggling to think of things until now. But THANKK YOU for requesting this it was so fun and it’s rlly unique lmao 💕

so a while ago i made a post with the signatures i made for the characters in 1836, and i was kinda having a lot of fun with it, so i decided to make signatures for all the hetalia characters (im totally not procrastinating with the intensity of the sun rn wym). so here they are, with the names closest to canon that i could find. my commentary is also interspersed. anywho here’s the signatures!
Tumblr media
so this first page is of the characters whose names are in latin and cyrillic, the scripts i feel comfortable writing in. this is 99% europeans, plus the us, canada, and cuba. this is alphabetized by the name of the country the character repesents but not their actual human name because im a dumbass, except for the last three, which are russia, belarus, and ukraine. belgium doesn’t have a canon last name, so i deferred to netherlands’ surname for her. denmark’s name here is magnus densen, which is the only full name given in canon. there are other potential first names and last names given for him (none of which are mathias kholer btw) but seeing as magnus densen is the only actual full name, that’s the one i decided to go with. i also used erzebet as hungary’s name, and beilshmidt for germany (who doesn’t have a canon last name but you know. siblings with prussia), tolys for lithuania, timo for finland, antoño for spain (more old fashioned than antonio), vash for switzerland, and irinya chernenko for ukraine.
Tumblr media
this second one is mostly asian countries with scripts that i dont know how to write in/am not comfortable writing in. for most of the asian countries, and egypt, it’s common to use signet rings as a form of signature. im not confident in my ability to create unique signets for all of them and in five different languages that i niether speak nor know the script for, so i left that out. egypt’s official name is gupta mohammad hassan, but since the p sound doesn’t exist in modern egyptian arabic, i decided it wouldn’t make sense for him to have gupta as one of his names. while he would probably speak coptic, i doubt that many members of the government or even your average egyptian who’d be seeing his name on official papers (cops if he gets pulled over for speeding, personal credit card, etc) would be able to pronounce it. coptic is sort of in the same boat as latin with its status as a dead language that some people speak as a second language, and i don’t think there have been any native speakers for a few hundred years. for greece, i gave him both a roman and greek signature, because im a bit more familiar with the greek script than any of the asian ones. seychelles is included here rather than on the latin only sheet because she doesn’t have a canon surname. making it bonnefoy is a bit weird imo and not logically consistent with how former colonies names work in canon (look no further than any character from the americas), so i gave her my own. her name here is michelle vinot. hong kong also has his english name, leon, next to his cantonese name, but i wasn’t sure if he had an english surname, so i just left it as a first name (he’s already got a cantonese surname so i didn’t think an english one was necessary). anyway uh final note is that i hope taiwan and hong kong’s signatures are different enough from china’s bc i wanted them to be somewhat similar, but with varying degrees of divergence from china.
anyway that’s all i have for now, i hope these were cool! ta ta for now
edit: i tried tagging them in the order they appear (in case you cant read one of them) but apparently theres a limit to how many tags you can put on a post, so they’re under the cut now
america/alfred f jones
austria/roderich edelstein
belgium/emma morgens
canada/matthew williams
cuba/máximo machado
denmark/magnus densen
england/arthur kirkland
estonia/eduard von bock

egypt/muhammad hassan/محمد حسن (arabic from google translate)
greece/herakles karpusi/Ηρακλής καρπούζι (greek from google translate)
hong kong/wang ka lung | leon/王家龙 (simplified chinese from google translate)
japan/honda kiku/本田菊 (from google translate)
south korea/im yong soo/ 임수용 (hangul from google translate)
seychelles/michelle vinot
tawian/lin xiao mei/林小梅 (simplified chinese from google translate)
turkey/sadik adnan/صادق عدنان (arabic from google translate. the turkish alphabet is very similar to the latin one and not all turks use arabic to sign their names, however, it was common for sultans and other members of the upper class to have very elaborate signets called tughras which used arabic calligraphy. i feel like a country would have something about as fancy, and that turkey is the sort of guy who would want one, so here’s his name in arabic. idk that he’d use it all that much these days, but woo! history!)

... So what is the... Thing. Plot. What's the story?- I get that there was something with Arthur bein an abusive ayhole and Matthew drinking Arthur's words, so Alfred became all angsty and went to like with the Nordics but, what did Arthur do exactly???? Like, what's the backstory-
K, so Matthew and Alfred first lived with the Nordics as small children. Arthur came along and saw they were keeping a siren and ratted them out to the Royal Guard. Royal Guard said “hey, y’all did a bad thing for keeping this dangerous thing around, but he’s still a kid so maybe he can be raised so he’s not dangerous,” so they gave the twins to Arthur because he must be a responsible citizen for doing his civic duty and reporting them.
So the twins are living with Arthur. They miss their family and they don’t like Arthur. They won’t listen to anything he says and make his life harder for him. Arthur goes “Frick it” and erased their memories. Problem solved. A few years later, Francis starts living with them. Arthur thinks it would be safer if he didn’t tell Francis what Alfred is. The less mers that know the better.
Francis gets along fine with Matthew, he adores the child, but Arthur doesn’t really try with Alfred. He knows the boy’s secret and won’t let himself be fooled. He tries to keep Alfred in the house as much as possible, because what if someone sees him and connects the dots? Leading Alfred to start resenting him for trying to control his life.
Apparently Arthur didn’t think the same thing for the mers inside the house, because Matthew had a big brain moment and saw the similarities between Alfred and the description of a siren in one of Arthur’s books and asked him about it. Seeing as there was no point trying to hide it, Arthur confirmed and told Matthew he had to keep it a secret and distance himself from Alfred, because if Alfred finds out he might realize what he is capable of and try to destroy them all.
Matthew then went “Shoot my brother could be a potential killer” and tried to distance himself from Alfred. Few months later, Matthew realized he can’t do it and tried to apologize, but the damage has already been done and Alfred is scared to talk to Matthew in fear of getting hurt again. Matthew gives up and goes “Well who needs him anyway.”
So now Alfred is depressed because he has no one left and he thinks he’s this big mistake in the world, because what did he do that could’ve made everyone hate him? So time skip and he meets Gilbert and Mathias. They were trying to eat Octavius and Alfred goes “Oh heck no” so he bashes a rock over Mathias’ head and takes off with Octavius. The trio came together for the first time.
Mathias goes “Snap that’s my little brother” but Alfred doesn’t remember and it would be kinda awkward to say “Hey I’m actually your big brother but you were taken away from me when you were younger” so he keeps his mouth shut for now. He eventually gets Alfred to visit the rest of the Nordics and they’re overjoyed that their baby came home. Mathias explains to them about his memory loss and they’re devastated, but it’s okay because he’s here and they can make new memories with him. They don’t ask Alfred about Matthew because it would be weird if these strangers ask you about a brother you didn’t even tell them you had.
So now Alfred is with the Nordics and thinks “Hey, I really like these guys and they treat me like family” and starts hanging out with them more and preferring them over his other family. Arthur gets mad because Alfred is seeing the exact mers he’s trying to keep him from and he’s losing his grip on Alfred. He tries to forbid Alfred from seeing them but Alfred has this freedom moment and gets into a fight with Arthur, like “Hey you can’t control me, I can make my own decisions.”
The fight gets a little physical, but with the help of Gilbert and Mathias, Arthur is overwhelmed and leaves with a grudge and a dent in his pride.
So ye, just to simplify things

The Difference Between Nations
Pairing: USUK, GerAme. Background Spamano, Franada, PruHun
Characters: America, Germany, Britain. Brief appearances by Romano, Spain, Canada, France, Prussia, and Hungary
Summary: America's been noticing Germany's rise back to the forefront of Europe and the power it holds over the continent. He decides to try and relate to a nation who he sees as very similar to himself.
Alfred sighed, staring at his reflection in the mirror. "Do we really have to go to this? It sounds so lame, dude." He adjusted his bowtie and attempted to flatten down his cowlick. He rolled his eyes, frustrated at its persistence to defy gravity. "A ball sounds really old and stuffy and like something that should've been left in the eighteen hundreds." Arthur stood at the sink, putting on some cologne. "We don't have to, but I'd prefer we're not the only two nations that skipped. People are talking about us enough between Trump and Brexit. We don't need any more bad press." He straightened up and put on his diamond cuff links. "It's a good opportunity to warm up to all the European countries again so I get a better deal once the divorce is finalized." He winked at the American. "If it helps, you look dead sexy in a suit. Almost makes me want to blow the party early to start one of our own." America smiled and wrapped his arms around the Briton's hips, pulling him closer to him. "You think flattery's gonna work on me? Because it totally will, please keep going." Alfred kissed the nape of the other man's neck, moving up towards his lips. "Why not have a pre-party before?"
Britain pushed him off and started moving for the door. "As enticing as that idea may be, we have to go. If we show up too late, the frog will be all over us and insinuating a lot of things that he doesn't need to know about."
"He's gonna insinuate anyway!" Alfred grumbled, but followed his lover despite his objections. He kept complaining the whole drive from London to Vienna. Alfred rolled his eyes when Roderich's house was in sight. "Ya'know what's bullshit? Homeboy's owned this place for centuries and it must cost a fuckton of Euros, but he still needed loans after both wars. I should've refused." "Ah, yes. You could've refused after the Great War and brought the second one upon us sooner or refused after the second and have him be a satellite state for the USSR. That would've been so much better for Austria, Europe, and the world as a whole. Dammit, Alfred, why don't you make even more brash decisions?" America flipped him the bird. "I hate you so much." Britain handed the keys to the valet. "Then get out of my car." The two walked up and into the house. Before stepping into the main ballroom, Alfred offered Arthur his arm. That elicited an eye roll and blush from Arthur. Nonetheless, he gratefully took it. The ballroom was an explosion of color and sound. Vibrant paintings were hanging throughout, surrounded by jeweled frames that sparkled in the bright lights of the various chandeliers. Above the hum of the other nation's voices, a full orchestra could be heard playing a variety of classical pieces - both contemporary and from centuries past. Arthur shook his head. "This takes you back to the Enlightenment." Alfred shrugged. "Needs more revolution to fit my memory of the time." His partner elbowed him as France, Canada, Spain, and Romano walked up to them. "Matthew, Lovino, great to see you," Arthur then groaned in response to the sight of their dates. "Great, the three musketeers are here. Wait, where's the third? How are you not lost without your frightful leader?" Francis took Arthur's hand and kissed it. "Angleterre, you look as dreadful as always. Your eyes, the shade of fresh vomit. Your complexion, that of a ghost. Your voice sends a shiver up my spine like one, yet you are about as threatening as Casper." He smiled genuinely at Alfred. "Amèrique, so good to see you again. How's your country going? When should I expect the announcement of a union between you and Ivan?" Matthew sighed. "Do you have to start a fight? We're all supposed to be friends..." He was so tired. He wished everyone would grow up and find peace within themselves to not be petty all the time. "I'd give you a proper response, but I heard you're on strike from all common sense so I won't waste my breath. Though you're awfully mean tonight. Who spiked your wine? Normally you're funnier than this. Where's my comedy?" Arthur sighed. "He's pissy 'cause that piano bastard rejected his wine. I don't blame him, French wine tastes like piss," Lovino shrugged. Antonio gave him a look. "He rejected yours as well." Lovino took a sip from a bottle of red wine. "The bastard's loss is my gain. I'm happy I was smart enough to bring two." He pointed with the un-open bottle. "The albino bastard was helping Elizaveta help the piano fuck with something." He turned around and started walking away. "I'm gonna get hammered. I hate these things." America saluted him as he walked away. "Godspeed, dude." Gilbert came sauntering up to them with Erzsébet. His shirt was a bit untucked in a way that was meant to look effortless, but he'd spent at least ten minutes working on and his tie was loosened. Erzsébet's usual flower had been replaced with one matching her green dress. "Alright! Now the party can actually start! Francis, 'Tonio, Al, and we'll get ol' Artie a little drunk so he can relax and have some fun. Matty, are you in or are you in? I saw Lovino had already started so we gotta start catching up to him." Prussia grinned wickedly. "Either that or we can take Silesia for old time's sake. It's not too far from here. I remember the route." Hungary hit his arm. "You're not getting shit faced here! If you do, I won't hear the end of it from Roderich or Feliks! You'll also embarrass your brother-" "I embarrass him all the time. But, if it means so much to you, I'll be sober enough to function throughout this whole boring thing." Gilbert kissed her cheek. He then turned his attention back to the group. "So what's up?" Arthur and Francis had been glaring at each other throughout the whole ordeal. Alfred and Matthew were sharing apologetic looks. Antonio was rocking back and forth on his heels, feeling out of place. Gilbert and Erzsébet looked at each other. "I'll catch up with you guys later. We're gonna not be here." He pointed some finger guns at them and the couple left as quickly as possible. Antonio saw that the deadlock remained between the two rivals. He figured they weren't even paying attention and slipped away to find Lovino so they could dance. Meanwhile, Britain and France had come up with more insults to hurl at each other. Canada and America sighed. "You think they'll ever grow up?" Canada asked, not caring if they heard. He knew they wouldn't though. They were too absorbed in themselves. "At their old age? Hell no, bro. We're stuck with them like this. Forever." They both groaned at that prospect. Out of the corner of his eye, America saw Germany by himself, going out onto the balcony. He remembered the mental note he'd made to talk to the other nation at this thing. Alfred patted his brother on the arm. "Hey, I gotta talk to Germany real quick about something. Make sure they don't start a brawl." The American swiftly moved between the sea of nations, apologizing whenever he bumped into someone. He paused before the entrance to the balcony and fixed his jacket and bowtie. He put on his most winning smile and stepped outside. He found Germany with his back to the entrance, staring out over the horizon. The German stood tall and erect with his hands behind his back, showing all his years of military training. America chuckled. "Ya'know, you remind me of what I imagine Jay Gatsby to look like." Germany turned around. He had heard the other’s footsteps so he wasn't surprised at his sudden company. "Hallo, Amerika," he smiled. "I hope I'm not wrong in taking that as a compliment." America walked up besides him. He leaned against the railing. "You're not. Fitzgerald wrote him with sexy in mind. You're not my type, but you're definitely a New York nine." Ludwig raised an eyebrow, but didn't object. He wasn't foolish enough to reject a compliment, even if he didn't believe it's validity. He watched his companion fish for a packet of cigarettes and a lighter out of his pockets. "What's your motive?" Alfred almost dropped the cigarette out of his mouth. He lit it before speaking. "And they say I don't have tact. Dude, what are you talking about?" "We're not friends. Our alliance is one of mutual beneficence. We only talk at meetings or when we have cause due to work. The most I've said to you in a casual setting was thanking you for inviting me to your Christmas party and hoping you had a happy holiday season. You saw me out here alone and came out here alone when you could've easily brought along Britain or Canada to get either away from France." He smirked at the American's shocked expression. "Ja, I saw. The three of you are rather loud. I feel bad for your neighbors." America blinked for a few seconds. "Ok, a lot of questions. First, you actually made a sexual innuendo? Second, why do you always call us by our nation's names? I've got no problem with you calling me Al or Alfred, but I do reject Alfie." "It's not professional. We're nations. Those names are a guise for our people and to make our bosses more comfortable when they're with us." He scoffed. "You act like I have no sense of humor. You know who my brother is. But we're sidetracked. What do you need? Whatever it is, I'll do my best to help you." "Honestly, it was nothing serious. Kinda just wanted to get to know you better. And make up for the bad taste my new boss may have left in your mouth." He smiled sheepishly. Germany laughed softly, unable to help himself at that fresh memory. "I appreciate that. It was quite a bitter one. Frau's worried, but I'm not. We can survive four years." He led America to a bench that was on the other side of the balcony. "If we're going to be here for awhile, may as well be comfortable. Why stand when you can sit?" America leaned back against it. "That's weird coming from you. I thought you were all anal about exercise." "I am, but standing isn't exercise. Also, it's foolish to waste any resources you have readily at your disposal." The two sat in silence. Germany sat expectantly, waiting for America's line of questioning to begin. It took Alfred awhile, but he finally figured out where he wanted to start. "You've been doing real well lately. You're the golden boy of Europe, holding everyone up." "I have to. Your boyfriend leaving the EU makes me the only one with a strong enough economy to help the others. Not like he was always much help anyways, but I can handle it. France will have to pick up some slack though." Ludwig paused and thought for a second. "Schiessen. This better not be some sort of pep talk. Gilbert's given me plenty and Russia tried giving me one a few weeks ago and it was the worst thing I've endured in a long time." Alfred laughed. "For real? Like hell I'd do that. I ain't much older than you. It'd be weird to put you through that. I'd only ever give you advice if you asked and I don't think you would. The only thing I could tell you how to do is win a world war, but you seem to be done with those." "Nein, I've had plenty of time to figure that out as well. Don't back the wrong horse and don't invade other countries under false pretenses then break your treaty with the country that will crush you. It's shockingly simple, but hindsight is twenty-twenty." He joked, but there wasn't a hint of amusement in his voice. America ignored it. "Seriously, dude. I don't get how you do it. If I had that many countries I was responsible for, I think I'd kill myself." Ludwig raised an eyebrow. "You are responsible for more nations than I am. The difference is I do my job better." "Technically I am, but no one realizes unless they have to. Listen to the news, you hear about something in Europe, you're gonna be involved in someway. It's always positive too. That's what blows my mind. None of them hate you-" "Practically all of them hate me." "But they work with you! They'll talk shit about you, complain about you, make some pretty good jokes, but you get stuff done! They don't like you, but they trust you. How?" "You're not at the EU meetings. A lot of the times, stuff doesn't get done that was on the docket. It's the G7, G20, NATO, and UN meetings on a much smaller scale. You're hyping up headlines." The German glanced at the American's cigarette. He had kicked the habit years ago, but this conversation was making him want to pick it back up. America shook his head. "Whatever dude. You know what I'm trying to say. All the others listen to you and you don't even have nukes! I don't get shit done anymore. It's like I'm past my prime. I gotta go into retirement, hang up my jersey." Germany rubbed the bridge of his nose. "If the whole purpose of this was for you to try to get me to reject football and embrace baseball, I'm throwing you off the balcony." "I used to hear all this talk from my old boss about how you kept moving up and moving up," Alfred ignored what the other had said, too lost in his own thoughts. "Even on the news and in some of my paper's. And shit, dude. I can't deny it. For fuck's sake, I see it first hand every month or so!" He laughed and took a drag off his cigarette. He looked up at the night sky. "Makes me think that you should've been a superpower instead of me." There was silence for a long time between them. America was happy with himself. He'd given Germany the best compliment he possibly could. Anything that may have happened between their bosses would now be smoothed over and they could continue working like they had for decades now. He silently congratulated himself on his brilliance. If America had bothered to look at the man besides him instead of at the stars, he would've noticed that he was wrong in how he thought his words would be received. Germany's body was tense and rigid. He ground his teeth together. His hands twitched to smack the proud expression off the other nation's face. He let out a shaky breath. "Go fuck yourself, Alfred." Alfred's gaze snapped at Ludwig. "Huh?" He tilted his head to the side. Germany rose and began pacing the length of the balcony. His body trembled, trying to contain all his anger. "Ja! I should be the one with the nuclear codes! The world would be so much better! I mean, I did have two shots at it. Prussia would be happy if the Hohenzollerns, a family that's slightly less inbred than the Hapsburgs, were making all the important decisions. The 1910s would've been so much better under a kaiser who would've fucked a navy vessel if he could've found an available hole!" America had his arms crossed. He rolled his eyes as the other spoke. "You're being overdramatic. It was a compliment!" "Nein! It's not. It's really not. Oh, how could I forget! The more likely outcome of me being a superpower! We'd all be fucking Nazis! Either Nazis or communists because I wasn't gonna take Russia down. Now that, that's the world I wished we lived in! Danke, Amerika. I no longer have guilt because I know that people would've preferred a genocide to never end!" He paused, finally calming down a little. He also realized he was shouting. "Do you ever think before you speak? Ever consider the meaning behind what you say?" "I thought you'd wanna hear that! I'm saying you could do my job better than me! Who wouldn't wanna hear that?" "A person who wanted your job and screwed the world over twice as a result. Maybe in your world that really means a lot. You can say that to Britain or France and they appreciate because they were good at their job. You can say that to Poland or the Italys and they feel like they're not the butt of the joke to the world. But you can't say that to me." He sighed and ran his hands through his hair, slicking it back more. "Danke. I work hard. I appreciate that it gets noticed. I don't want the world though. I'm not Gilbert or Roderich. I can't...I won't rule the world. I don't want to. I don't deserve to. Ja, I may do a better job of it than you or Russia or China. All three of you terrify me." America scoffed. "Come on. I'm harmless." "I fought against you in two wars and I was your buffer zone in the Cold War. You've dragged the Middle East into chaos for oil and as revenge for one terrorist attack. You have arsenals of nuclear weapons. You're the biggest threat of anyone at this unfortunate social gathering and, if it wasn't for Mutually Assured Destruction, I think you'd be blowing up nations left and right." He sighed again and shook his head, muttering curses in German. "Can you please go? Danke. I understand what you meant. Just...don't talk to me again for the rest of the night. Or unless you have to. I can't deal with this much stupidity." Germany moved back to where he was standing when America first walked out. America rose and stomped out his cigarette. He began moving towards the door. When he reached it, Germany's voice stopped him. "America, before you go. I figured I'd pay you a compliment that I know will get my message through your head. You're one fantastic empire and remind me a lot of Rome. Getting close to the same age as when he fell as well. I'd keep that in mind if I were you." Alfred's hand hovered over the door knob. All the tales he'd ever heard about Rome flashed to mind. The scarred body, the constant battles, how quickly everything crumbled once the invasions began. He then imagined the same happening to him - his states with too many rights rising up, his territories rebelling, Canadian and Mexican invasions. Shuddering, America quickly exited the balcony. He leaned against the door, closed his eyes, and sighed. Alfred decided he'd had enough of this party and quickly left with Britain, breaking up a fight about to happen. Meanwhile, Germany found himself caught up in the past. He remembered the vision Hitler had sold to him of German dominance of the globe. He saw the globe being covered in a swastika and shivered. He could taste how close he was to that vision before the image of Hitler's dead body in the rubble of the bunker flashed to his mind. He then tasted the disgust and hatred for himself as everything came to light, as he found the extent of the damage his actions had caused, that he could still taste strongly on certain days. Ludwig shook his head, freeing himself of the past. "I am not meant to rule the world," he whispered to no one in particular. "But I will make it a better one. I owe it that much. That's where you and I differ, America. You have no reason to see yourself as the villain while I have no reason to see myself as anything but."

How would the 2p Allies react to meeting their 1p for the first time?
Oh dear lord…Enjoy! -Admin Jay
2p France: *wrinkles his nose* “How do you get your hair…so…bouncy?”Francois would look at Francis and shake his head. He wouldn’t want to talk to Francis so much and would say that Francis’ positive outlook made him sick. Though he would be curious about their similar fashion sense…and how the hell his hair was so bouncy…
2p Canada: *looks over Matthew before shrugging* “Kinda small…”Matt would just look at Matthew and shrug. He wouldn’t have too much to say or think. He would think Matthew is pretty cute and sweet, if not a little too soft, and Matt would come to the conclusion that if anyone dared to lay a hand on Matthew or speak ill of him, that they would lose their hand or tongue to a very hungry polar bear.
2p America: *snorts and shakes his head* “You’re a little…more vanilla that I expected…”Allen would look at Alfred and blink. This was his counterpart? He would have expected someone…more like him. Though after looking Alfred over, he would only have a problem with the other’s morals and sense of fashion… Allen would deem Alfred a work in progress, but wouldn’t be too upset. Though his favorite thing would quickly be his ability to fluster Alfred and make him uncomfortable.
2p England: *bites his lip and looks over Arthur* “I don’t think you ever got enough hugs…”Oliver would think Arthur was sad and needed more love in his life. He would try to be friendly at first, but would later deem Arthur rude for constantly rejecting his offers of sweets or hugs. Oliver would also complain about Arthur’s style saying how dark and dreary it was. The pastel Brit would try his best to cheer up and and give Arthur more color, no matter how many times Arthur says ‘no’ or ‘get lost’.
2p China: *wrinkles his nose and sighs* “You are really no fun…”Zhao would call Yao boring in two seconds flat. He wouldn’t be a fan of Yao’s peaceful or old school ways, and definitely not the lectures. He would try to brush Yao off as much as possible and would call him ‘old man’ as many times as he could. It would be very hard to keep those two in the same room for extended periods of time.
2p Russia: *shakes his head* “You are too naive.”Viktor would look at Ivan and just shake his head. He would see a strong and smart man hiding behind a fake smile. He wold try to harden Ivan and make him stronger, but if he was turned down he would sigh and say it was a wasted opportunity. Though he wouldn’t be opposed to talking with Ivan for long periods of time, especially about science.

USUK Christmas Countdown 2017: December 20
Title: Of Ugly Sweaters and New Friends Day 8: Baking/Cooking Summary: Arthur has a crush on school poster boy Alfred, and in order to get closer to him, he decides to join the Baking Club, because they share a similar passion for the kitchen. Rating: PG Warning: None
(Written by: @apanphanfanwithaplan and Art by: @kurisutythehero)
High school consisted of three main things is what Arthur always thought. People, parties, and clubs.
He himself was a part of several clubs, such as the Magic Club, Model UN, and Gardening Club. Not very interesting hobbies, people always thought, but they were his.
He had friends, like Lukas Bondevik and Francis Bonnefoy. No matter how annoying the latter was, they were friends, and friends introduced friends to cute new boys in Model UN.
Alfred F. Jones was five feet, six inches tall, had a nest of messy blond hair, and god, was he loud. He carried a somewhat authoritative aura that clashed with his impulsive personality and made Arthur Kirkland fall head over heels. He was the new captain of the football team, America in Model UN, student council President, and part of the Baking Club.
The Baking Club was not for kids like Alfred. Kids like Alfred joined sports teams and played the trumpet. Kids in the Baking Club were like Feliciano Vargas and Feliks Lukasiewicz and Emma Maes, who were sweet and kind and as soft as their desserts. But all desserts had their secret ingredients, and Alfred's was his real personality.
Alfred thought only the Baking Club understood who he really was and how different he was, because he definitely was not like the other ‘jocks'. He helped at his grandmother’s animal shelter on weekends, cheered for his brother at chess matches on Wednesday, went to baking Tuesdays and Thursdays, and did football on Mondays and Fridays. He played flute in band, was in HRC in Model UN, and picked up trash around school as president of his peers during school hours. All in all, he was absolutely perfect, and it gained him a one way ticket to Arthur’s heart.
And now, Francis was teasing Arthur endlessly at lunchtime.
“Get your eyes off Captain America over there and onto your pizza. You haven’t even touched your grapes yet! I swear, Artie, if I wasn’t your bestest friend, I would seriously be supes worried,” the Frenchman complained.
“Okay, one, shut up, and two, who said you’re my bestest friend?”
“Who bailed you out of jail when you had some fun at that amusement park?”
“Okay, yeah, but that was holding. There’s a difference. So shut up.”
“Besides, who else would be your best friend? Lukas? He spends more time with that weird Lego Robotics kid. What about that vampire? You still friends with him?”
“Vladimir isn’t a vampire, he’s just Romanian.”
“Yeah, right. And there’s something in the Kool-Aid making us gay.”
“That’s it, for once, you’re right. I need new friends. I’m joining the Baking Club!”
“Not to interrupt your ‘starting today I’m going to be a host' moment, but last time you ‘baked', you set the kitchen on fire. You were literally heating ramen in the microwave, and you burnt my house down!”
“Is that why you stopped inviting me over for sleepovers? Just because I burnt your house down? I said sorry!”
“We’re getting off topic. So, how are you going to get loverboy to love you back?”
Arthur blushed a deep shade of crimson at that.
“Hopefully my charm will take over if not my obviously amazing cooking skills.”
“Arthur, you’re my best friend, so I’ll say it one more time, just to get it through your thick skull. YOU BURNT MY KITCHEN DOWN MAKING RAMEN, YOU PRICK!”
“Details, details.”
And with that he walked off to sign up for the Baking Club.
Soon enough, Arthur had signed up, the rest of the school day had passed, and he was standing at the door for Baking Club, which was covered in mistletoe and holly in celebration of the Christmas season, it being mid-December.
Definitely not the kind of club he thought he’d ever join, but here he was.
He gently rapped on the door and pondered if it was too late to run away when none other than his reason for joining this stupid club answered the door in a super cheesy Minnie and Mickey ugly sweater.
“Hey! Arthur, man, I didn’t think you were into clubs like this! Come on in, I’ll introduce you to everyone!”
He grabbed Arthur’s ugly-sweatered wrist and dragged him in, and he saw the kindest club in school in all of their ugly-sweatered glory.
“This is Feliciano Vargas, whose specialty is cannoli!”
A young man with dark brown hair and an obnoxious curl in a two person sweater with a blond male waved energetically.
“And this is Emma Maes, and her main dish is waffles with boysenberry syrup and strawberries inside, and she’ll be adding some extra stuff to her usual waffles today for holiday stuffsies!”
A girl with mid-length blonde hair and a kind smile wearing a punk sweater the same colour as the patterned blue and black bow in her hair waved nicely, and then turned back to her measuring cups and holly.
“Here’s Ludwig Beilschmidt, who’s a little grumpy, but really nice when you get to know him, and he loves to make bread pudding, and he’s making a plum one today for the Christmas celebration, which isn’t as terrible as it sounds!”
The tall stoic guy next to Feliciano and in the couple’s sweater with him calmly waved and smiled ever so slightly.
“Feliks Lukasiewicz, my man! He specializes in making this thing, it’s like funnel cake! You know what funnel cake is, right Artie?”
Arthur nodded.
“What’s it called again, bro?”
Feliks, who was wearing a slightly less dramatic sweater than the others, rolled his eyes and sighed, flipping his blond hair from his eyes. “I’ve told you like, at least five times, Al! It’s called skruzdelynas! It’s a Lithuanian dessert, and yes, it is like funnel cake, I suppose.”
“I don’t know how to pronounce that, so Feliks specializes in funnel cake, and he’s making a cherry one with powdered sugar today for Christmas!”
“Ugh, you could, y’know, at least try!” called the Pole to Alfred as he went on to introduce the other members.
“Love you too, bro!”
“Ugh, whatever.”
“Is he actually your brother?” Arthur asked Alfred.
“Who? Feliks? Nah. My brother is Matthew, and he’s at a chess meeting today. He’s got a tournament tomorrow! So proud of him. But his twin is in this club, and my twin is in Swim Team. Which brings me to our next member… Madeline!”
A shy girl with pigtails and a red beret with maple leaf hair clips who greatly resembled her brother Matthew waved a little before looking back down at what she was doing.
“Maddie is the beeessstttt at maple pops!”
“Maple pops?”
“Yeah! And maple donuts! And maple bacon biscuits! Just a lot of maple, I guess. I don’t know where she gets it.”
He lowered his voice.
“But between you and me, I think she has a dealer.”
Arthur had to stifle a laugh.
Only Alfred would think his own sister had a maple drug dealer.
To his surprise, Madeline, in her The Nightmare Before Christmas sweater, laughed at that. “Alfred, mom and dad and Matthew have all told you, there is no dealer! We can talk about this later, I’m making muffins.”
“Fine. Bye sis!”
“She seems nice and calm, at least for being related to you,” Arthur laughed out.
“What’s that supposed to mean, Eyebrows? What if I said your brothers were pretty sober, at least compared to you?”
“Then I'd call you a liar.”
Alfred laughed, and it made Arthur think of home.
“Annnndddd last but not least, in our fabulous baking club, we have our longest here members, Antonio and Matthias! Toni is best at chocolate flan, and Matthias here rocks at making rice pudding with cherry sauce, and he’s even adding sugar plants to it!”
Matthias waved politely in his stoner themed sweater, but then looked back determinedly to his pudding, which he was decorating with edible sugar holly.
“Hey, Arthur! I haven’t seen you since forever man!” Antonio, himself, in an incredibly tacky sweater, waved and spoke cheerfully to him.
“Oh, hello, Antonio. Fancy seeing you here,” Arthur spoke quietly.
“What’s wrong Artie? Did you two have an argument or something?” Alfred asked, puzzled.
“Hmm? Oh no. We’re just old friends. We used to play pirates on playgrounds, but we kinda grew apart, I guess,” Arthur said to him sadly.
“Well now, since you’re in the same club, you can grow back together as friends! Wouldn’t that be awesome?” Alfred asked excitedly.
Arthur smiled at his enthusiasm.
“Totally.”
The tour of everyone in Baking Club was now over and Arthur finally got to sit down and start baking his own something. Scones were always his favourite. And Alfred mentioned something about liking boysenberries, so boysenberry scones it was.
For an hour or two, he sat there in his area making and cooking scones, just for Alfred. These had to be perfect, because he probably wouldn’t get another shot to impress him.
Francis was right, he thought. I can’t cook, and I certainly am not handsome enough for the likes of Alfred, he sighed sadly.
Soon enough, the scones were done, and with only minimal burning!
“Al, Alfred?” he called out.
Alfred was over there in a heartbeat.
“Something wrong, Arthur?” He sounded worried.
“No, no, I just, uh, I made you some scones?” he stuttered out.
“For me? Really?”
“Yeah. I heard you say something about boysenberries, and I kinda suck at anything but scones, so here’s some boysenberry scones, I guess.” He sheepishly handed him the plate of scones.
Alfred cautiously picked one up and took a bite. He first made a slight face of disgust, then corrected himself. “Wow, these are pretty good!”
Arthur frowned. “You hate them. I suck at baking. Sorry.”
Alfred looked upset at Arthur being sad. “No, no! These can get better with just a little bit of improvement! Here, I can help you!”
Alfred went over to Arthur’s cooking area, which was covered in flour and hearts drawn in it.
Alfred laughed. “You like hearts, huh?”
Arthur blushed like mad. “I, uh, I, like the design?”
“It’s fine, I like hearts too!” Alfred replied cheerfully and flashed him a wink.
That did not help Arthur's blushed state in the least bit.
For two hours the duo worked together on new boysenberry scones, and some Christmas cookies as well, and both drew more little hearts on the flour around the area, laughing at shared jokes and throwing berries and sprinkles at each other joyfully.
Soon, they were done.
“Wooo! These look great Artie! Try one!” Alfred exclaimed.
Arthur took one and started nibbling, and was surprised at how good they tasted. “Wow! Al, you’re, well, amazing!” He finished it up.
Now Alfred blushed. “Oh, it’s nothing. You did most of it anyway.”
Arthur grabbed another from the tin.
“Hey Artie, close your eyes, I made you a surprise!”
“Alright…” he agreed suspiciously, closing his eyes.
Within two seconds, he felt a pair of warm lips against his own. They tasted like berries and soft vanilla crumbs.
He opened his eyes and almost gasped. It was Alfred.
Alfred pulled away slowly but kept his hand on Arthur’s back.
“Heh, sorry Arthur. I have been wanting to do that for forever. Plus, mistletoe, y’know?”
Arthur looked up and laughed at the plant hanging above the two and then, without thinking, immediately pulled him back in, and there they stood for a few more seconds before breaking apart again.
“I guess we match my sweater, huh?” Arthur said sheepishly, and Alfred looked down at his KISS sweater and chuckled.
“We should probably go share these scones and cookies anyway. Come on, and today is actually club picture day, in case you forgot. We haven’t taken a Baking Club picture for the year book yet, so it’s good you came here today,” Alfred spoke first.
“Good idea.”
The two shared their scones and when everyone was done, Alfred ran to get Francis, in his own ugly wine themed sweater, from Photography Club to take their group picture.
The group of only but nine huddled together for their picture, Alfred and Arthur side by side, holding hands.
“Everyone say ‘merde'!” exclaimed Francis from behind his camera.
Everyone took French, so they all laughed cheerfully, and said “Merde!” into the camera, the group of mismatched friends smiling ever so brightly, because they had found their home, right here, in this silly high school baking club, with more friendship and adventures to hold.
He originally joined it for the boy toy, but stayed for the friends and fun.
Arthur had changed his mind.
There were actually five things that high school was made of.
Sweets, friendship, clubs, ugly sweaters, and love.
And he couldn’t be happier that he had found all of them here.
