Alessia russo x Leah Williamson x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
One might expect after coming back from a run to the bakery at 7 am to come back home and find silence still filling up the house or perhaps jazz music and the smell of coffee. What you didn't expect was bickering.
You opened the door quietly so as not to disturb the sleeping bodies in your bedroom only to hear them full on arguing up the stairs. You put down the baked goods in the kitchen and angrily stomped your way to the room where the loud noises were coming from. You found Alessia and leah both hovering over a disassembled crib arguing about who should do it and who should go to bed.
“ Lee, you have a concussion, you should rest.” said Alessia, still in her oversized sleeping t-shirt.
“ and you just played a game last night you are the one who should be resting. Besides, I know my body and what I can handle.” replied leah.
“ Leah seriously stop with this nonsense and go to bed.” Alessia tried to command her club captain.
“ What do we have here?” you jumped in before any one said something they would regret.
No matter how unusual this encounter might seem it happened quite often in your household. Lessi was sweet and gentle while Leah was stubborn and hard headed. Alessia would easily give up control and  surrender either one of you’s  touch or words while Leah needed more convincing in order to let go.
“ I couldn't get any sleep. I needed to move so I came here to assemble this crib. And  little miss over here wouldn't let me.” explained leah.
“ you are concussed leah you need to rest;  this crib can wait.”  added alessia.
“ Alessia,  give it up. I am fine. I don't need babysitting. If I do, I will make sure to call you.” said leah in an undermining tone.
“ I am 7 months pregnant. I got up and went out to get us something to celebrate qualifying for the champion's league and I am greeted with this at 8 am. I expected cuddles in bed with my favorite people instead I got a problem.” you say as you sigh and get out of the room.
“ See if you weren't a child lee we wouldn't have upset her.” said aleesia.
“ and if you just let it go we wouldn't have either.” added leah.
“ Enough, you two.” you yell from across the room and they go quiet.
You opt for a shower to relax from the stressful morning you had. Once you got out you found Leah waiting for you. You ignored her and headed straight for the mirror to apply skin care. She came up behind you, put her hands on your swollen belly and kissed your shoulder.
“ I am sorry.” she mutters.
“ It's not me you should say that to.” you respond.
“ She is angry at me.” you turn to face her and cup her cheeks.
“ Say you're sorry and she will forgive you. You were harsh on her, you know. She was just trying to help you.”
“ I didn't mean to snap at her.” Leah genuinely feels bad for what happened.
“ So go console her and show her that you love and appreciate her.” Leah was like a toddler sometimes which was one of your favorite things about her. She gives you a kiss and leaves. After you are done you head to the kitchen, make coffee, and scroll on your phone. You were lost in your phone and suddenly you feel it get  yanked out of your hand. Your attention goes quickly to the new sensations on your neck. They were both kissing you, each one kissing a different side. Your hands gravitate to their hair and a moan escapes your lips. Their hands however were perfectly situated on your belly. Alessia stopped kissing you first which sourced a whine from you. She immediately kneels to the level of your belly. “ she just kicked i felt her.” she exclaimed happily. moments like these were why you kept up with their nonsense. And the sex of course. Leah does the same thing and you admire them as they talk to your belly in an adorable voice.
“ So I understand that you two made up.” They both stop and look  at one another and smile.
“ Sorry this happened, I know you wanted a slow morning.” apologized alessia.
“ It's not that late. We can still go lay down on the couch together.” she added.
“ Since I created the chaos I will prepare breakfast,” said leah.
After you demolish your food you lay on Leah's chest and Alessia puts her head on your lap and just sits there admiring each other. You really love these two idiots and are excited to start a family with them.

𝐑𝐔𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐑 — 𝐀𝐖𝐅𝐂
## reader x awfc !!
Tumblr media
hi all!! finally releasing this, which is in honour of jonas finally pissing off away from our girls and our team! i hope you enjoy! love always, RGx
warnings: angsty team x management arguments, mentions of mental health!
3.6k words.
“i’m sure the team will be buzzing with joy this evening after tonight’s win, but how are the girls and yourself taking the recent and surprising departure of a lifelong gunner?”
“yeah, as you said we’re all pleased with the result tonight - it was a great match with a good side and i think the score reflects the determination we took onto the pitch with us.” you watch as beth pauses, like she is searching for words that will do her feelings justice. “she was the best of us, not just the team but the best of us and our friends. i think she was and is destined for great things, but life and people unfortunately happened to get in the way. but i’m happy, we’re all, happy for her.”
you've known beth long enough to know when she is lying and it pains you to realise how the tone of her voice drops at the mention of you. it stings momentarily, but you shake it off and allow pride to take over you as the camera pans to the rest of the team taking their victory lap.
you find yourself smiling absentmindedly at your phone, having sat through the entire match with your eyes glued to your phone - watching your girls on the pitch from your home, instead of beside them for the first time in years. your stomach filled with a cocktail of emotions that you can’t seem to process at this very moment. a toxic mixture of sadness and despair, twisted and twined with anger and hatred for what the situation had become.
its been two weeks since your statement went out, three since you made the decision and four since the argument. in an ideal world, it wouldn’t have gone this way - you would’ve stomached your feelings for longer and swallowed your bubbling anger, bit your tongue and carried on as usual. but for some reason, you just couldn’t.

a 3-0 win should be celebrated. it should fill you with joy and overwhelming excitement - but it doesn't. instead, it fills you with nothing but anger and resentment for the club you once loved, you used to love. in place of congratulations and pats on the back, is a lecture. a plethora of critiques and corrections despite the effort and conviction everyone had shown.
you and the rest of the girls stand huddled in a group in the locker room, stood in an agonising silence. your hair is still wet, from the sickly british rain that decided to visit, your face still tinted red and your chest still heaving.
you tune out to jonas' voice, watching absentmindedly as he paces ahead of the group - volume above his usual decibel as he tears into the group, pushing further and further. you don't listen, allowing your mind to wander. no one dares talk back, instead choosing to take his words. you, however, fail to be as nonchalant as them - swallowing the bubble of anger in your throat and biting your tongue to the best of your ability.
your mind is brought back into the tiled room at the snap of your name from the front of the group. you look up to be met with jonas' eyes on you - his eyebrows raised and seemingly awaiting an answer. "what?" you mumble through gritted teeth, eyes locked on his.
"do you care to fill the rest of us in on what is so important besides my feedback right now?"
you shake your head, matched with a sarcastic looking, sickly-sweet smile and lift your hand top gesture towards him. "oh please, carry on."
"i dont appreciate your attitude," he quips back, screwing his facial features together, feining disgust.
"whatever," you scoff, rolling your eyes and peeling yourself away from the bodies beside you - now overly aware of their eyes on you.
"i'm out." pause. "i'm going to leave, and have a glass of wine and celebrate a fucking win." you turn away from them, too busy to take off your kit and instead scrunching your clothes and belongings into your kit bag. "which by the way, is what we should all be doing! instead of standing here taking shit because he didn't like how we were moving on the pitch!"
there was a shift from him, and a deep red tint crept up his neck as he shot daggers at you from across the tiles. “i do everything for this team! maybe once in a while, it would be nice for you to do the same if you think you know better! please, do tell us, what makes you think you have done anything of significance for this team? for arsenal!”
it changed, then. the small shred of sympathy you had, the small shred of guilt - gone. ripped from inside you and splattered across the walls of your home stadium locker room. the girls around you seemed shocked at his words, confused and unsure of what to expect next.
you paused. taking a deep breath and halting your shoving of clothes and shoes into your bag, and turning to face him directly through the sea of red and white kits in front of you.
“what do i do, for this team?” the question sounded almost broken, like you couldn’t actually believe he was playing this card. you searched for the answer deep within yourself for a few seconds, allowing the hurt to build in your throat and fuel the fire burning deep behind your eyes and in the pit of your stomach. your eyes flicked over each of the faces now looking at you and a small smile teased at the corners of your lips as you looked at their concerned expressions.
after a few more moments of silence, you inhaled deeply and began. “i’ve given my life, to this club. to this team. i put in the work, i trained day and night in the academy, until i was enough for the senior team. and when i made it here, i made a difference. i stepped up when kim was out, when leah was out. when laura first moved here, i took her in.” you paused, taking another shaky breath, cautious of the tears held back by nothing more than your water line. “i don’t expect you to give a shit. but whilst you were too busy tearing this team down. katie for her aggression, kim for her captaining style, leah for her rehabilitation, viv for her performance, beth for her drive, lia for training hours and every other fucking player in this building. i was building them back up, i was trying to make this right.”
silence fell over the room, and you shook your head. “im done.” you all but whispered, slinging your bag over your shoulder and moving towards the large doors leading away from the locker room. “i can’t do this anymore, this club is my home - and i will not watch you tear it down.” you shoved the door, a single teare slipping down your cheek the second you heard the door swing back on its latch and close again. you didn't stop to say goodbye to the familiar faces in the building, instead, with your head down and focused on the floor beneath you - you walked straight into the carpark, got into your car and drove home.
as you drove away, the weight of your decision settled in your chest. you couldn't believe it had come to this, that you had walked away from the team you had poured your heart and soul into. all the emotions you had been burying for weeks and weeks on end were now uncontrollable, tears streaming as you contemplated your actions but you knew you couldn't bear to stay in an environment where your efforts were belittled and unappreciated.
after a 40 minute drive, you found solace and refuge in the familiar walls of your apartment. the silence enveloped you as you sank onto the sofa, reaching for your phone. you hestitated in pulling it out of your bag, unsure of what may be waiting for you when you unlock it.
but still, you did, heaving a deep breath when your screen lit up with a message from beth. her words expressing concern and confusion about what had transpired in the locker room. as you read beth's message, a mix of emotions washed over you - relief that someone cared enough to reach out, but also a pang of guilt for leaving without saying a proper goodbye. to her, to any of the girls in the room. you quickly typed out a response, skipping over the details of your motives - instead opting for a light hearted message, apologising for your abrupt exit and apologising for not controlling your temper.
minutes turned into hours as you sat there, staring at your phone, the weight of your actions heavy on your shoulders. you hadn’t moved, still sat in your jacket and kit, boots still tied to your feet. the sound of a familiar notification pinged through the room - like it had been doing on repeat since that first message from beth, and you saw more messages popping up from your now ex-teammates.
------
1 week later - 3 weeks ago.
the days blurred into a week as you settled into a routine without the training sessions, team meetings, and the constant thoughts of upcoming matches that used to consume your time. you found freedom in the quiet moments alone, the weight of expectation now lifted off your shoulders, a sense of liberation starting to bloom within you. you finally felt like a person, not just a player.
you had been speaking to the girls everyday, each of them keeping you up to date on life behind the scenes of the club. the drama and tension seemed to have escalated in your absence, with rumors swirling about disputes between jonas and some of the other players. your decision to leave had sent shockwaves through the team, but it also seemed to have sparked a newfound sense of unity among everyone.
it was a miserable london evening when you got your first unexpected visit, darkness just creeping across the clouds when a knock at the door interrupted your law and order binge.
to your surprise, standing on your doorstep was leah, with a hesitant smile on her face.
a flood of questions and uncertainties raced through your mind as you stood frozen in the doorway, unsure of what to say or how to react to her unexpected visit.
"hey," leah began, her voice soft yet laced with underlying tension. "uh, can I come in?"
you hesitated for a moment, the inner turmoil evident on your face as you considered whether to welcome her inside. finally, you stepped back, wordlessly opening the door wider to allow her entry. leah entered cautiously, taking in the familiar surroundings of your apartment with a mix of nostalgia and apprehension.
there was a palpable tension in the air as you both stood in the living room, the silence stretching between you like a taut wire. you shared the quiet for a second or two before leah spoke up, her words carefully measured. "i know things have been rough lately... for all of us, you especially, i wanted to come here and talk, clear the air maybe?”
you studied her face, searching for any hint of insincerity, but all you found was genuine concern etched in the furrow of her brow. with a sigh, you nodded, gesturing towards the couch for her to sit. as she settled on the edge of the cushion, you perched on the arm beside her, like you used to.
"i just... i wanted to say that i'm sorry. sorry for not speaking up before, for not standing by you when things blew up. i let my own fears and doubts cloud my judgment, and i should have been there for you, we all should have been there for you."
her words hung heavy in the air, mingling with the unspoken tension that had plagued your relationship for months. you could sense the sincerity in her voice, the raw vulnerability that she rarely showed to anyone.
“i appreciate it, but it wasn’t your fight, le.”
“your fights are our fights, you’re one of us, you always have been. you always will be”
you gave her a half smile in response, and moved closer to her on the sofa - opening your arms to her. she mirrored your smile, allowing your arms to wrap around her and hers around you.
after a few moments, you pulled away, looking at her directly. “thank you, for coming round. and for looking after me for all these years. but i think,” you paused, sniffling and turning your attention to the fabric of the sofa below you. “i think its time,”
she nodded along with you, taking a deep breath before smiling at you. “if that’s what you want to do, then do it, and we will support you. i promise.”
“i don’t know how to tell the girls, i haven’t seen any of them since i left. i don’t want them to find out through social media,” you rambled.
“we’re all meeting at mine tomorrow, why dont you come along? i know they want to see you, and i think you deserve a night to relax with us - gunner style.” you share a laugh at her comment, agreeing to see the girls. a small shred of anxiety tore through the depths of your stomach, but you shook it off; determined to do the right thing.
the next day seemed to fly by, seeming to disappear from you as you spent the hours doing odd jobs - attempting to distract yourself from the uneasiness gnawing at your insides.
now, you find yourself outside leah’s flat. she said 7, but you underestimated the traffic at this time in this part of the city - so you’re late, as per usual, and composing of yourself on the door step. after a deep breath, you raise your hand to knock.
once, twice, then the door flies open. a smiley young aussie waiting to greet you, her arms immediately around you and pulling you tight to her frame. “jesus, i missed you,” she whispers into your shoulder. “i missed you too, k.” you pull apart and she grabs your hand, pulling you from the now closed door and into the living area. it’s littered with everyone you know and love.
they greet you like nothing has changed, arms wrapped around you and whispers, comments and remarks of support. you slip into the group like you never left.
after you’ve eaten, and have returned to the living area, you stand up - allowing everyone’s eyes to fall on you. you take a deep breath, smiling at them then looking down at your thumbs. you twiddle them and enterlock your hands as you search for the best way to say it.
“i wanted you to hear it from me, that next week, a statement will be released. a statement explaining my temporary contract termination from arsenal. i love you all, like my family. i don’t want any of you to feel like any of this is your fault, but i just feel like i’m at a different point in my life right now - a point where my views, and the clubs managment’s views no longer align. i can’t jeopardise my mental health, for people who can’t seem to put me, or my friends, first.”
you say it in one, your mouth and words moving faster than your brain can comprehend. you finish with a shallow breath, looking up to the group. they take it well, a few of them shedding tears at the offical loss of their friend and teammate, others hugging you and sharing comforting smiles. you know it needs to happen, but this is the part that kills you. leaving behind your family, your people.
the night draws to an end and you begin saying your goodbyes, promising to keep in touch and arranging plans to meet up soon. as you start making your way out of the room and towards the door, kim pulls you aside. you can’t read her expression, a sickening mixture of sadness and happiness for you.
“i’ll miss you,” she says softly, reaching out to squeeze your hand. “but I know you’re doing what’s best for you. just don’t be a stranger, okay?”
you nod, feeling a lump form in your throat as you hug her tightly one last time before heading out the door.
------
1 week later - 2 weeks ago.
3pm. your phone dings with a notification from the arsenal woman’s football club instagram and app, giving you and thousands of others the news of a new and important post. you hover your finger over the notification, hestitating.
you open it eventually, propping your phone up as the video loads onto the screen. you cringe at the sight of you, expectant of whats to come.
“hi gooners, it’s so nice to sit down and speak to you. this year marks my 15th year at arsenal, if we’re taking it all the way back to my first academy scouting when i was 8. i have nothing my fondness and admiration for this club, these people and this community. to be apart of this team and to watch the growth of woman’s football has been an honour and a pleasure i will forever be grateful for. when i think back on my years here, i have nothing but happy memories. memories of friends, of wins and of losses, of meeting fans and selling out stadiums. some of these things we never believed would be possible, but you, every last one of you, have made it possible. after 15 years of my life dedicated to the game, i think it’s time to take a break. temporarily and indefinitely, i will be taking a step back from the club. thank you all for your unwaivering support, it means the world to me. this is a special club, which remains my home. but my health and wellbeing needs to be my number one priority. thank you.”
you watch as the video comes to an end, and the messages, comments and likes begin. you switch off your phone after a few minutes, tucking it under a cushion on your sofa and resuming your show - tuning out the constant buzzing.
------
present day.
you watch until the live recording of the match ends, you watch all of the post-match interviews, with nothing other than a smile on your face. when the stream finally does end, you feel like you can breathe again, switching to your messages app and drafting a text into the groupchat to congratulate the girls on their win. you press send, then abandon your phone beside you somewhere on the sofa. paying it no mind and you lean back into the comfort of the cushions and pillows surrounding you.
as you sink deeper into the softness, you let out a content sigh, feeling a sense of peace wash over you. you close your eyes and let the sounds of the television fade into the background, relishing in the quiet of your own thoughts.
you dozed off, allowing the safety of sleep to engulf you for a few hours. you lay peacefully until the doorbell rings, jolting you awake. you groan in annoyance, wondering who could possibly be bothering you at this hour. you reach for your phone as you stand, 9pm. reluctantly, you shuffle away from the sofa and make your way to the door, rubbing the sleep from your eyes.
as you swing open the door, you are met with a pair of familiar faces that brings an instant smile to your lips. beth and viv, stand on your doorstep with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"surprise!" beth exclaims, holding up a bottle of wine and a bunch of flowers. "we come bearing gifts. can we come in?"
you step aside, allowing them to enter, still slightly taken aback by their unexpected visit. they both breeze past the threshold, only stopping for a moment to give you a hug before making themselves at home on your sofa.
“i didn’t know you were back in london, viv!” you exclaim, watching her set the flowers on the counter. “and shouldn’t you be out celebrating?” you ask beth with a laugh, shutting the door and joining them on the sofa.
“there’s no where we would rather be, mijn liefje.”
its the later end of midnight when you all start to tire, spread across the sofa and floor with eyes barely open and focusing on the movie playing.
“do you guys want to just stay here tonight? i don’t wan’t you driving home tired.” you say through a yawn, stretching your back out and turning to look at the both of them cuddled up beside you. both of their eyes closed and chests rising peacefully. you smile to yourself, moving to grab a blanket from the basket beside you and cover them both up. you switch off the tv, turn off the big light and make your way to your bedroom.
it isn’t long before you’re asleep too.
------
the next morning you wake to a persistant buzzing sound, your phone rattling on your bedside table. notifications from twitter and instagram flood your lockscreen, along with messages from the arsenal groupchat and from distant friends.
your eyes are just barely open when you reach for it, giving your eyes a moment to adjust before looking at the screen. you swing yourself off the bed, feet finding the cold of the floor as you pad through the flat until you find beth and viv.
they’re awake, both sharing the same expression as they look at you in the doorway between the two rooms.
you begin to read from your phone. “we can confirm that jonas eidevall has resigned from his position as head coach of our women’s first team and leaves us with immediate effect.”

LIFESAVER - leah williamson
leah williamson x child!reader | based on this request!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
leah sighed as she awoke to the sound of your cries ringing through the baby monitor for what felt like the tenth time that night, wincing even more when she checked the time - it of course being only five minutes before her alarm was due to go off, only her luck.
you were usually a pretty good sleeper, and rarely cried in general, never mind throughout the night - so she had known almost instantly the first time you had awoken that you were feeling under the weather, and her worries had only proven right as the night had gone on and your state had worsened.
and again, as if it was part of a well planned routine, your cries only intensified when she eventually padded across the hallway and pushed open the door to your room, your little arms immediately throwing themselves up towards her, desperately in search of any form of comfort.
she bent down and scooped you out of your crib, cradling you in her arms in an instant, never one to deny you her embrace.
“i’m here sweetheart, i’ve got you. what’s the matter hm? can you tell mama?” she soothed for what felt like the hundredth time, running her hand through your bed head, voice so gentle that no outsider would believe it was the same stoic england captain they were so used to if they witnessed it.
you simply whined, more tears angrily slipping down your noticeably red cheeks as you buried your face into her neck, whimpering - her feeling warmth radiating off of you like a heater.
she had picked up on your temperature over the night and had kept an eye on it, and whilst it had definitely now started to come back down, she could tell that you still weren’t feeling great. she could guess based on how sniffly your cries had become, paired with the level of sick you'd been over the course of the night - that you’d picked up the latest nasty bug, most likely from your nursery, despite you only going there once or twice a week.
the nursery that you now wouldn’t be able to attend for the next forty eight hours whilst your mother went to training.
usually, leah wouldn't even hesitate to call jonas and let him know that she wouldn't be able to make it to training - you were her number one priority always, but of course, the one day you get ill happens to be the one day of the season that leah can't miss, or arrange for somebody to look after you at home.
meaning she'd have to bring you with her.
“okay my bubba. we’re gonna make you all better in no time, kay? you're gonna be my little helper for the day and come to work with me, and see all your aunties! they'll be so excited to see you.” she chatted away to you as she made her way down to the kitchen - prepping your morning bottle and fetching you some 'magic' medicine, whilst bouncing you gently in her arms.
you settled finally as you drank, clutching onto the bottle for dear life as leah stroked your forehead, it’s temperature finally going down to somewhat normal as the medicine started to kick in, your tiredness following, and catching up to you.
you were almost fast asleep as she bathed and changed you into some fresh, non sicky clothes, texting the arsenal group chat as a pre warning of your previously unexpected arrival.
she was grateful to say the least when she looked in her mirror to see you still knocked out in your car seat as she drove to the training ground - hoping that you finally getting some rest in meant that you were on the up, and that you'd wake up feeling better again.
“come on then my girl, let’s go see everyone then shall we” she whispered, pressing a kiss to your head as she unbuckled and lifted your sleeping frame into her arms, slipping your dummy into your mouth and grabbing your blanket, before grabbing both of your bags and heading inside.
-
“there’s my favourite girl!” an unmistakable irish voice boomed down the corridor from behind the pair of you, leah wincing as you stirred ever so slightly - not wanting to deal with another repeat of this morning.
thankfully, no such thing happened - katie getting the hint after a single look from the blonde, and a slap on the arm from caitlin.
“shit, sorry! do you want us to take her whilst you go and speak to jonas and kim about the plan for the day? they said it won't take long today” katie whispered, already reaching out for you before she had an answer.
“you’re a lifesaver, thank you! i'll be as quick as i can - if she does wake up there’s anything she’ll need in her bag, but she should hopefully be out for a while.” leah gently transferred you into katie’s waiting arms, a now well practiced routine with the team whenever they wanted baby cuddles and you were sleeping, and passed the aussie beside her your bag.
-
by the time you woke again, nearly four hours had passed - and you had been in pretty much everyone in the building's arms at some point or another as the team took turns doing drills.
your auntie viv was the lucky one this time, your eyes fluttering open slowly as she swayed with you wrapped up in her hold, humming a dutch lullaby. she was easily one of your favourite people, and had been for as long as you could remember, having cried in everybody else's arms apart from hers, the most awkward and freaked out person over holding a baby in the room, when you were a couple of weeks old.
"vivi" you mumbled, voice muffled by both your dummy and the sleep as you glanced up at her, playing with her fingers ever so softly.
"hi tiny, you feeling any better?" she asked, knowing that you probably had no idea what she was asking you, and that the fact you weren't crying was probably the best answer she was going to get.
you had perked up massively, some colour finally returning to your cheeks as your sleep clearly fought off whatever nastiness you had been feeling earlier on.
you babbled incoherently and pointed towards where alessia, katie and steph were chatting - another sign that you were definitely feeling a little bit more like yourself, wanting to be involved in what everyone was doing again.
the dutch woman placed you down on the floor as you wriggled and attempted to get down yourself, chuckling and following after you as you determinedly toddled over to the trio.
katie was the first to notice you and scoop you up, pretending that you were a rocket ship, making you squeal with laughter before steph had reminded her to be gentle with you. she only tickled you softly in response before placing you back down and letting you kick a ball to her and alessia, as steph rummaged through your backpack for a top up of medicine and a snack for you - knowing that you'd likely be starving.
the australian had very nearly been met with a complete meltdown when you'd spotted the medicine, it only being resolved because you saw lia stopping to get a snack and take her own medicine for her leg, letting you go and happily sit with her, thinking you were as cool as your auntie lia as steph popped the syringe of pink liquid into your mouth.
-
leah had been checking in on how you were doing every half an hour or so, and she had never been happier to see you run towards her when she caught your eye.
"hi my baby! how are you feeling?" she cooed, granting your wish to be in her arms immediately and fussing over you whilst thanking all of the girls for their help.
“she’s been good, slept like a champ and just had some more medicine - think she’s officially on the mend.” steph answered, grinning at you and playing with your hair as leah pressed kisses to your cheek.
you clapped your hands and cheered, not understanding the words but loving the attention that was on you - and how the horrible ache in your body had started to fade.
“alright then! we’re all done for the day so we’re gonna head off for some much needed rest - thank you girls for all of your help with this one. say bye to your aunties then bubba.” leah collected all of your stuff and waved goodbye - you copying her almost identically, as expected.
“bye bye.” you said as clearly as your dummy would allow, waving again at each of the girls individually, who had all gathered near you, their usual place whenever you were around.
“clumsy lessi.” you mumbled as you pointed at alessia, the rest room erupting in laughter just like every other time you said it, and the striker once again protested.
“she knows like ten words and those are two of them!”
"don't get mad at the baby for speaking the truth russo!"

You couldn’t really believe how different your room looked now.  Your Aunties had gone a bit overboard and it had somehow transformed from a very plain and adult looking room, to a soft and colourful squishy bedroom.  You now had a cozy single bed with a purple duvet cover and lots of new stuffies.  You had a bookshelf that was already half filled with books and a desk with drawers filled with all different coloured papers and various drawing supplies.  Your wardrobe was filled with all sorts of new clothes, including brand new school uniforms and a new backpack.  There’s a big fluffy rug on the floor and a small nightlight shaped like a bunny on your bedside table.
Beside the bunny nightlight there was a picture frame with a photo of you, your Mummy and your Daddy in it.
It made you feel a bit sad, but you still don’t want to cry.  You hadn’t cried since they died.
You didn’t cry when you found out.  You didn’t cry at their funeral.  You didn’t cry when your Nana took you to see what was left of your home.  You just felt an overwhelming sense of nothing about it all.  You didn’t know how else to explain it.
You did however still feel anxious and trembly and on edge about your new living situation.  You of course knew that Aunty Lessi and Leah would never do anything on purpose to hurt you, but you didn’t want to do anything to upset them or make them angry.  You wanted to be good.  You needed to be good.
So, as you lay tucked into your squishy new bed, you tried your best to just fall asleep.  You’d wanted to read a book like you usually did before bed, but your nightlight wasn’t bright enough.  So once Aunty Lessi had turned the big light off, you had been left to just toss and turn.  You’d tried counting sheep.  Well, you’d tried counting bunnies actually, but that didn’t help.  Then you tried listing off all the different breeds of bunnies that you could think of, and then you tried to list off all the books you had read and at some point you finally, finally drifted off to sleep.
The next morning it’s your birthday and you’re sitting at the kitchen table with your Mummy and Daddy as they sing happy birthday to you.  There are some presents beside you and a big card with a number 8 and a bunny on it.  You make a wish and go to blow your candles out, but instead of blowing them out, you take a birthday candle off your cake and flick it onto the floor.  The whole house erupts in flames as you walk out the front door, not even stopping to look back as you hear your Mummy and Daddy’s scream.
Suddenly you wake up, gasping for air and covered in sweat.  Your sheets are all tangled around you, and you feel like you’re being strangled.  You leap out of the bed, desperate to escape the location of your nightmare.  You just wanted to escape to somewhere far, far away.  Anywhere would do.  Anywhere but the place where your head was currently.
So, you escape the best way you know how.  Looking around the room, you figure out what supplies you’ll need to gather: a sheet, a torch of some kind, Arthur (of course) and a book.  Once gathered, you sat on the big fluffy rug and pulled the sheet over your head before cracking the new book open and diving into whatever world awaits you.  The relief is instant.
You’re not too sure how long it is before you hear a few footsteps followed by your bedroom door creaking open gently.
“Bunny, what are you doing up sweetie?”
You panic.  You’d been caught by your Aunty Leah.  Surely you were going to get in all sorts of trouble for being up this late when you should have been in bed asleep.
You quickly turn off the makeshift torch (you’d discovered some kind of bouncy ball that lit up when you hit it and was just bright enough) and hurried to push the sheet and book away, before diving back into your bed and getting under the covers.
“S-sorry Aunty Leah.  I’m really sorry…”
Your voice was trembling.  In fact, your whole body was trembling.
Bad. Bad. Bad.
“Hey, hey… you have nothing to apologise for sweetheart.”  Your Aunty Leah walked over towards your bed.  “Is it okay if I sit with you for a bit?”
You nodded, unsure where this conversation was going.  She sat down on the side of bed, one hand on her big baby belly, the other reaching forward to gently stroke your cheek.
It felt really nice.  You very much wanted one of her hugs right about now.
“Sorry for waking y-you up, Aunty Leah.  I promise I didn’t mean to.  I’ll try to be more quiet in the future.”
“Oh Bun, you didn’t wake me up.  This one did” she poked at her belly and chuckled.  “They’re currently doing star jumps on my bladder and making me need the loo every 10 minutes.  I just thought I’d check on you while I was up.”
A small part of you relaxed knowing you hadn’t woken her up, but you were still waiting for her to punish you for being up past your bedtime.  Not that you really knew what your bedtime was now.  It used to be 8 o’clock, but you were allowed to read in bed with your reading lamp for a little while after that.  Surely it was way, way past 8 o’clock now though.
“Were you having trouble sleeping?” she asked.
“Kind of…”
“Did you have a scary dream?”
You gulped.  That wasn’t exactly how you would describe it, but you also didn’t have any better words to use, so instead you just nodded.
“Oh sweetie, I’m sorry.  You can always come find your Aunty Lessi or I if you have a bad dream or you’re having trouble sleeping.  We’re always happy to give you snuggles in our bed.”
You just nod, afraid to tell her that you couldn’t climb into her and Aunty Lessi’s bed.  Bad things happen when you sleep in beds that aren’t yours.  You would never tell your Aunties, but you had slept on the floor the two nights before your brand-new bed had arrived, too scared to sleep in the big, adult bed in case something bad happened again.
“I’m happy to see you reading the books we picked out though.  We weren’t too sure what you had and hadn’t read, so we just tried to get you your own little library going…”
All of a sudden, the most intense wave of panic hit you, followed by a terrifying realisation.  For the first time since your parents died, you started to cry.  And it wasn’t the gentle, weepy kind of cry.  It was the big, jagged breaths and snotty nose tears streaming down your face kind of cry.
“Oh my goodness… I’m- I’m going to get in so much trouble! They’ll never let me back there again.  I’ll have to find some way to make all the money to pay them back.  It’s- it’s going to take me years.  I- I- I’ll never-”
“Woah, woah… deep breaths, deep breaths.  Copy me, in through your nose, out through your mouth.”
You copied your Aunty Leah and your breathing slowly started to settle down, your panic subsiding a little, but your tears continued to fall.
“That’s it. Well done, Bunny.  Can you tell me what made you so upset just now?” she asked.
“All of my library books were in my bedroom and… and I must have had at least 15 or 16 of them.  And Nana said nothing from my room made it through the fire and Mummy always said if I didn’t treat the library books good or if I lost one that I would have to save up all my pocket money to replace it.  Because if the books get lost or broken then no-one else can borrow them.”
You’re getting worked up again, your voice beginning to rise.
“But I don’t have any pocket money, coz it was all in my bunny bank, and that would have gone in the fire too and it’s going to take me forever to save up enough to replace 16 books and the librarians will be so mad at me.  They’ll probably never let me back in the library or any library ever again!”
It was the most you had spoken since you had moved in with your Aunties, and you could tell that your Aunty Leah was a bit shocked at your outburst.  Suddenly Aunty Lessi appeared at your door in her pyjamas.  You must have woken her up now too.
Hopeless. Hopeless. Hopeless.
“I’m sorry for being so loud, I shouldn’t have shouted. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”
At some point, you’re not really sure when, you’d buried your face into the fur of Arthur’s belly, rubbing the softness across your skin in an effort to calm yourself down.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”
The words just kept tumbling out of your mouth, losing all sense and meaning.  You just kept saying them over and over, feeling like both them and the soft fur of your beloved Arthur were the only things keeping you tethered to the earth right now.
But then you were being lifted out of your bed sheets and being pulled into a tight embrace.  You assumed it was your Aunty Lessi.  There was no baby belly and it smelled like Aunty Lessi.  She wore the same perfume as your Mummy did.  You clung to her with all your strength, even though you were still afraid that she was angry at you for waking her up.  She stroked your hair and ran her fingers gently up and down your back as she walked around the room with you in her arms, rocking you slightly.  You felt like a baby, but you didn’t care.  You knew you were a big girl who could and would look after herself, but just for this moment, this one moment, you just wanted to be little again.  You just wanted to be held and comforted and cuddled and loved.
You just wanted your Mummy and Daddy.
And just as quickly as the wave of panic and outburst of tears hit you, the balloon of emotions grew too big, and popped.  Once again, you felt nothing.
Your tears dried, your breathing settled and your tight grip on your Aunty loosened until she placed you gently back down in your bed.  Your Aunty Leah brushed your hair back from your face, tucking it behind your ear and cupping your cheek.  She looked at you with what seemed to be a mixture of concern and confusion, as if she couldn’t quite figure out how you’d gone so quickly from a shaking, crying little baby back to your previous state of nothingness.  You couldn’t figure it out either, it’s just how it was.
“Bunny, I don’t want you worry about those library books for a single second.  We will talk to the librarians and if there are any fees that need to be paid, Aunty Lessi and I will make sure they are taken care of.  The library isn’t going to stop you from coming to visit because something really, really awful has happened to you.  We will make sure you get to go back and pick out plenty of new books to read, okay?  We will always make sure you have plenty of books to read.  We promise.”
--
The next day when your Aunty Lessi went off to training, Aunty Leah took you down to the library.
She had asked you if you wanted to talk to the librarian or if you wanted her to do it for you.  Whilst everything inside of you screamed to let her do the talking, you were a big girl, and it was your fault the books got destroyed, so you had to do this yourself.  So, you walked up to the counter and with trembling hands pressed the little silver bell on the bench and waited patiently for a librarian to come help you.
A kind looking lady with fuzzy black hair and big brown eyes approached the desk and gazed down toward you.  “And how can I help you today, little lady?”
With a deep breath and a tight squeeze of your beloved Arthur, you began to explain.
“My house burned down.  I had borrowed lots and lots of books because I love to read but they all got burned in the fire so I can’t return them.  So I-I-I know I need to pay loads of money to replace them, but I need to know how much so I can start saving…”
The lady looked from you, up towards your Aunty Leah stood just behind you, who had what you could only describe as a sad smile on her face as she nodded at the librarian.
“Well, it sounds to me like the only thing that needs replacing here is your library card.  I’m assuming you lost that in the fire too darling?”
You hadn’t even considered your library card.  Were you going to have to pay for that as well?
“Oh yeah, I did.  So umm… how much will it all cost all together then, with the library card added on?”
Useless. Useless. Useless.
“Oh no sweetie, what I’m saying is that you don’t have to pay for anything.  We’ll just make sure we get you set up with a replacement library card so that you can keep borrowing from the library and keep on reading!”
You were shocked.  You were certain that the fee was going to be huge.  Absolutely massive.  And even though you knew your Aunties had said they’d pay for it, you’d promised yourself you would save up and pay them back every last pound.
“Really?”
“Absolutely!  Here, you just need pick out which design you would like on your new library card, and I’ll just grab a few details off your Mum here and-”
“She’s my Aunty.  My Mummy died in the fire.  So did my Daddy.”
A tense silence filled the air as you went about looking over the laminated sheet of paper showing you the card design options.
“Can I get the one with the purple ladybirds, please?”
--
When your Aunty Lessi came home from training that afternoon, she had her kit bag on her shoulder and a couple of shopping bags in her hands.
“Hi my loves!”
You watched from your spot on the armchair as your Aunty Leah walked in from the kitchen and gave Aunty Lessi a kiss ‘hello’.  After their kiss, Aunty Lessi bent down to rub her hands over Aunty Leah’s tummy and pressed a few kisses there too.  They were exchanging soft words, but they were talking a bit too quietly and were standing a bit too far away for you to hear.
Your insides felt a weird jumbly feeling whenever you saw the pair of them kiss and cuddle, especially when Aunty Lessi would kiss or talk to Aunty Leah’s baby belly.  A part of you felt this really warm, light kind of feeling that made you want to sing and fly and twirl, but a bigger part of you felt this awful sinking feeling that made want to run and hide.  When they combined, they made you feel like you might be sick.
In an effort not to throw up all over your Aunties nice furniture, you leapt from the armchair and ran quietly towards the bathroom, making sure to close the door gently behind you.
Whilst you didn’t end up being sick, you found relief in the feeling of the cool bathroom tiles against your skin as you lay on the floor staring up at the ceiling.  You weren’t sure how long you’d been laying there, running your fingers across the smooth flooring, before you heard a soft knock at the door.
“Bunny? Are you okay in there?  You’ve been in there a little while?”
Lifting your head off the cool tiles, you rummaged together a response for your Aunty Lessi.
“Uhh, yeah.  Just a bit of a yucky tummy.  I’m okay,” you replied.
“Alright sweetie, let me know if you need anything.”
“Thank you Aunty Lessi.”
Your head hit the tiles again with a soft thud.
Reluctantly you got to your feet, straightened your clothes and looked at yourself in the mirror.  You made sure to flush the toilet to make your lie seem a little more realistic, and you washed your hands so that they would smell like your Aunties nice vanilla soap.
When you emerged from the bathroom and re-entered the living room, your Aunty Lessi got off the couch where she had been sitting and shuffled on her knees over to you.
“How are you feeling, Bun?”
She looked you over as one of her hands ran over your forehead, checking for a temperature, whilst the other ran soothingly up and down your back.
“I’m fine.  My tummy was just a bit upset, but it’s all good now.  I’m fine.”
“Do you want some water or some toast or-”
“I’m fine, Aunty Lessi.”
“Okay, well you let us know if you need anything or you feel worse, alright?” she insisted.
You nodded, gently stepping out of her grasp as you shuffled back toward the armchair you had been sitting in, aiming to reunite with Arthur and your book.
There was a brief silence as you got yourself settled, but then Aunty Lessi returned to the room with the shopping bags from earlier.
“I got you a couple of things, Bunny.”
You looked up from your book, confused to find your Aunty Lessi now sitting in front of the coffee table.  She was patting the spot beside her, indicating to you she wanted you to join her on the rug.  You shuffled back down off the armchair, this time bringing Arthur with you, and tentatively sat in the spot she’d gestured at.
“Well, I know you’re not that big on sports or football, but I thought maybe you might want to come along to our game next weekend?  It’s totally up to you and completely okay if you don’t want to come along! Nana has already said she’ll come around and look after you if you’re not interested.  But just in case you do want to come, or if you ever want to later down the track, I got you some gear so you’ll fit right in and match everyone.”
She started pulling a bunch of red and white clothing out of a bright red shopping bag, each one with the same pictures and words printed somewhere on them.  The final item she pulled out was a mostly red shirt with the word ‘BUNNY’ in big white block writing across the back and the number 23 under it.
“I wasn’t too sure what to get on your jersey, but I figured as Aunty Leah isn’t really playing this season, we’d start with my number, 23, and maybe we can swap to 6 next season or on an away jersey or something.  Or you can pick your favourite number, or another player if you prefer…”
Aunty Leah laughed loudly beside you at the last remark.
“The only rule is that you’re not allowed to pick McCabe’s number, because we will never hear the end of that, okay?” she told you.
You nodded, not quite understanding what she meant, but filing that information away for later.  It seemed important.
As you surveyed the sea of red and white clothing, you felt a strong sense of obligation to attend the game.  You knew that football was very, very important to your Aunties and they spent a lot of their time playing the sport.  And whilst you only very vaguely understood the rules (kick the ball into the back of the big net thing), you thought maybe with your brand-new library card you might be able to borrow a few books on football and learn about it some more.  You loved to learn, and perhaps this could be an opportunity to learn about something completely new.
“Can Arthur come to the game too?”
You watched as both your Aunties eyes lit up with excitement as they both shouted “Of course!”
“Okay, we will come then.”
“Are you sure, Bun?  You don’t have to just because Aunty Lessi got you some gear,” your Aunty Leah was sitting on the very edge of the couch now, her hand reaching out towards yours.
“I’m sure.  And it’s good coz I want to learn more about football because it means a lot to you” you replied as you took hold of her hand before turning to face Aunty Lessi  “To both of you.”
“Well, we will be honoured to have you come along with us.  And I’ll try and score a goal just for you” your Aunty Lessi said.
You like the sound of that.  That gave you the light kind of feeling that made you wanted to sing and fly and twirl, but without the other horrible sinking feeling that made you want to run and hide.
“What’s- what’s in the other bag?” you asked.
“Oh, thank you for reminding me, I nearly forgot with all the excitement about the game,” she reached over the coffee table and pulled a brown cardboard box out of the bag.  “It’s nothing fancy, but your Aunty Leah realised we didn’t get you a proper lamp for reading, so I popped into the shops and picked you up one.  Now you can read before bed or if you wake up throughout the n-”
You cut her off before she finished her sentence, launching yourself at her in the tightest hug you could muster.  You could have cried at the thoughtfulness.  In fact, you think you may have been crying, just a tiny little bit.
“Thank you, Aunty Lessi.”
You quickly pulled back and stumbled over to the couch where Aunty Leah was sitting, wrapping your arms around her the best you could with her big baby belly in the way.
“Thank you, Aunty Leah,” you whispered as her hands ran through your hair.
“No more using a bouncy ball as a torch, yeah?”
You couldn’t help but giggle at that.
“Okay.”
“Okay.”

birthday present part 1 (alessia russo x reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
alessia only had one request for her birthday: you.
warnings: SMUT 18+, fingering (r receiving), edging, cocky lessi
a/n: anyone else obsessed with the idea of top!alessia? part 2 here! (also to my gf: maybe don't read this one)
--------
“That’s it, good girl,” she crooned, one hand on your hip, pushing you into the mattress, the other hand two fingers deep inside you. “Taking it so well for me.”
When you had asked Alessia what she wanted for her birthday, you thought maybe she’d say some jewellery, or some new shoes, or something like that. This wasn’t quite what you had had in mind - not that you were complaining, of course. You had bought yourself some lingerie, justifying the purchase as being a present for her really, knowing how much she’d enjoy the sight of you in it. It was blue and pink, with flowers embroidered on it, the same shades as her favourite Arsenal jersey.
She smiled at the sight of you wearing her shirt when she got home from training. It was just long enough to hide what you were wearing underneath, but short enough that she could tell that you weren’t wearing much. Her eyes trailed up your bare legs, lingering at the hem of the jersey. She blushed when she saw the cake you were holding, her nose crinkling as she grinned.
“You made me a cake?” she asked, dropping her bag and coming over to where you were stood.
“Yep! I hope it tastes okay, I realised that I mixed up the order a little but it looked fine,” you rambled. She let out a laugh, kissing you over the cake.
“Let me just put this down,” you said, pulling away from the kiss and turning to go into the kitchen. She watched you leave, her eyes fixed to her name on the back of the jersey you were wearing.
When you came back she was sitting on the sofa, legs spread slightly. You could feel her blue eyes watching your every move, and when you approached her she patted her lap.
“Come here, baby.”
You complied readily, and she wasted no time before kissing you deeply, one hand on your waist, the other playing with the hem of the jersey. Her fingertips brushed the lace of the lingerie you were wearing, and she pulled away from the kiss, an eyebrow raised.
“What’s this?” she asked, hands moving to your hips under the jersey, fingers trailing along the edge of the underwear.
“A present,” you replied with a grin.
“Yeah?”
“Mhm,”
“Take this off,” she instructed, tugging on the jersey. “As much as I love seeing my name on your back, I want to see what’s underneath.”
You pulled the jersey off slowly, arching your back as you did. The blonde’s eyes were glued to your body, flitting back and forth between the lace covering your pussy, the way the straps came up over your hips, your boobs, fuck, when Alessia saw your boobs, she had to stop her mouth from falling open. Her hands came to rest on your waist, thumbs brushing up and down gently, under the straps of the underwear.
“Fuck,” she said, struggling to think of anything else to say. “Fuck, baby. You look so beautiful. You got this for me?”
“Yeah,” you nodded shyly, preening at the way she was looking at you. “You like it?”
“Yeah,” she said, her voice low. The lingerie was embroidered with flowers, and she traced one on the bra, right over your nipple, nail dragging along the sheer fabric. You gasped at the sensation, and she smirked. She knew how attractive you found it when she was cocky, and she was going to use it.
“You like that, baby?” she asked, dragging her nail over the fabric covering your sensitive nipple again. You nodded, feeling yourself get wetter, your clit already throbbing, desperate to be touched. She leant forward, kissing you again, tongue swiping along your lower lip. She bit it gently and pinched your nipple at the same time, making you whine into the kiss, your hips bucking forward.
“Patience, baby,” she said. “Don’t worry, I’ll fuck you. Just want to have some fun, first.”
You huffed, but soon forgot why you were annoyed when she trailed kisses along your jaw, your ear, your neck. As she started biting and sucking just under your jaw, her hands slid under the lacy bra, thumbs brushing against your already hard nipples. She smirked against your neck as she felt you swallow back a moan.
“Want to hear you, okay baby?” she pulled back, looking you in the eyes as she said it.
“Okay,” you breathed. She’d barely even done anything and you already felt like a tightly coiled spring, like one little touch could set you off.
“Good girl,” she smiled, pinching your nipples, watching your face as you let out a whimper. She went back to your neck and chest, leaving bruises and marks. She liked to leave them high up, in places they’d be seen, so everyone would know you were hers, but she also liked leaving them on your chest, between your thighs, on your hips, places where she knew she was the only one who got to see them.
You leant back, giving her better access to your chest. She pushed the bra down and left a trail of marks along your breasts, before you felt her lips brush against your nipple. She blew cold air against it, watching it harden, smirking at the way you whined and your hips wiggled impatiently. You swore under your breath when she closed her lips around it, sucking, and when her hand brushed against the lace covering your clit you let out a moan.
“So wet already, baby? I’ve barely even done anything,” she said, and you rolled your eyes.
“You know that’s not true, you’ve been teasing me-” you started saying, but she cut you off, her thumb pressing against your clit, rubbing it through the lingerie. “Fuck,” you keened, hips desperately moving forward, trying to find more friction against her hand.
Her thumb kept going, applying pressure against the bundle of nerves between your legs, rubbing in tight circles whilst you gasped and moaned.
“Feel good, baby?” she asked, but she wasn’t looking for an answer. She knew you weren’t able to talk, too focused on the way she was making you feel, on the movement on her hand between your thighs. “Doing so well for me, such a good girl for me, aren’t you? You getting close, baby? You look like you’re getting close, your legs are starting to shake a little, can you keep going for just a little longer, darling?”
Her hand slipped under the lingerie, two fingers easily sinking into your soaked pussy. You whined, eyes closed, unable to think about anything other than her fingers inside you. Her fingers moved fast, sliding in and out of you, and you felt your orgasm building. Your hand held her arm tightly, and she could tell that you were on the edge by the way you squeezed her arm, the way your mouth was moving like you were swearing but no sounds were coming out.
Your eyes flew open when she removed her hand, your mouth open in bewilderment as she casually sucked her fingers clean. She leant back against the sofa, smirking at the look on your face.
“Babe, come on, that’s not fair!” you protested, but she just shrugged.
“It’s my birthday, remember?” she said with a grin. You hmphed and crossed your arms over your still naked chest, and she kissed you on the cheek. “Cheer up, baby. If you’re a good girl for me I’ll let you come later, how does that sound? Plus, I have a surprise for you.”
You nodded, knowing that she would fuck you later whether you were good or not. And you wanted to know what the surprise was.
“Good. Now, how about that cake?” she asked, a mischievous glint in her eye.

rainy mornings - leah williamson
(a/n : yet another recycled fic!)
Tumblr media
the morning sun seeped its rays through the openings of your blinds as you tossed and turned in bed.
you felt a weight on the side of your body, turning to see a hand draped over your waist. you rubbed your eyes, confused as you hoisted yourself up on the bed. glancing over to look at leah — her face tucked into the blanket that you both shared, warmth spread across your chest, heat rising to your cheeks.
your heart melted looking at the sight of the still sleeping girl, her soft breathing being the only thing that filled the atmosphere.
it was leah’s off day, despite all your nagging that she should have gone to training, she insisted that she would stay home after her previous game. “one off day with you can’t hurt, baby.” you remember the look on her face when you gave in, hearing her ramble about how she would take you on a picnic and everything. you didn’t want to admit it, but you were really, really excited to go out with her, but not wanting to interfere with her schedule, you felt a bit of guilt that she was home because of you and not at training.
your chain of thoughts were broken when you felt a sudden warmth around your stomach. you turn your head slightly, seeing her face smushed against your back. you gently interlock your hands with hers, feeling her squeeze your arm and hand.
“morning”, she said, her husky voice filling your ears.
“good morning sleeping beauty”, you joked, earning a small pinch on your stomach. you yelped at the pain, shifting yourself away from her.
she gave you a sheepish smile, gesturing you to lay next to her. you shook your head and crawled back next to her, immediately feeling her hands snake their way around your neck.
she buried her head in the crook of your neck and gave a soft peck on your collar bone. you shivered at the touch of her lips, smacking her arm when she bit the skin on your neck that was still tender from last night.
the sound of rain however interrupted your moment, the warm touch of the sun now gone, the previously bright atmosphere turned dark and gloomy.
“baby, look,” you spoke hurriedly, pointing at the window now showing shitty weather. she turned her attention to it, a sad smile forming on her face as she saw your obvious disappointment.
“we had plans today..” your voice softened at the end, huffing a breath at the sudden change in weather.
you heard a sigh as a response, feeling her weight shift on the bed. she leaned her body against yours, sliding her hands around your waist, her head nuzzling into the back of your neck.
her hot breath fanned against your skin as she tightened her grip around your torso. she presses small kisses along your shoulders, feeling her smile against your skin as you started to play with her fingers.
“i have an idea, but you’re not gonna like it.” she mumbles into the back of your neck, rubbing her nose into your hair. you hum, feeling her stand up from the bed.
“come,” leah spoke, her hand stretched out towards you, a crooked smile was plastered on her face. you blinked, suspicious of her intentions, yet you placed your cold hands in her warm ones.
she pulled you from the comfort of your bed, causing you to crash into her. you narrowed your eyes at her skeptically, squeezing her forearms as a warning. she leaned in to kiss the tip of your nose, before taking off running to the door with your barely keeping up.
“lee, what on god’s green earth are you doing?” you yelled, but she just kept running.
of course, she dragged you out of the comfort of your home and into the rain. you shrieked, feeling the rain softly hit your skin — her joyous laughter filled the air.
you hissed at her, lightly slapping her arm in annoyance, suddenly feeling her palm rest on your cheek. you felt her other hand place one side of her earphones into your ear, the other into her own.
“may i have this dance?” she suddenly said, bowing down elegantly, making you giggle at her.
“why of course, madame,”you said, curtsying in return making her chuckle.
taking your hand in hers, she held you closely as you swayed, feeling nothing else but her hand in yours.
people stared at the two of you — two women standing in front of their apartment complex, laughing as the rain poured down. but you didn’t care, only looking at leah’s rain streaked face, her eyes lit up like a child in a candy shop. maybe today won’t be so bad after all.

Media Duties (Pt 2 of Communication)
Tumblr media
Kyra Cooney-Cross x Dutch! Arsenal! Reader
Warnings: fluff, REALLY bad translated Dutch, language barrier, suggestive if you squint really hard.
Masterlist
___________________
While your English was far from great, it was slowly improving.
You spent most of your time at training listening to the conversations around you, trying to match words to emotions and faces to sounds. Your Netherlands teammates had slowly integrated the second language into your Dutch conversations, and your Arsenal teammates urged you more and more out of your shell.
You were still very soft-spoken, ushering a few words here and there, smiling when the group set off into chuckles at something one of them — primarily Katie — had said.
After games and training, Vic and you would go out to dinner, listening to her order before doing so yourself. It was embarrassing at first and continued to be until you memorized the pronunciations entirely.
Viv often invited the two of you over for dinner. It became a sort of tradition after training on Mondays and Fridays; when neither of you were willing to cook. You would listen to Beth talk about everything because she regularly did so whenever she had the chance. Viv would tease her for talking too much, but you enjoyed the blonde’s bubbly personality.
Alessia would come over to yours when she wanted to, using the few Dutch phrases she knew to bond with you. The ex-united player was very giggly, and wouldn't stop giggling until someone had to physically restrain her. In your opinion, she had the easiest accent to read.
Kyra’s on the other hand, was not.
Kyra was stuck to your hip the moment you met. You weren't used to having someone as physically clingy as the Australian, but you didn't seem to mind it. She would bring you a chocolate every morning, cheekily popping her one in her mouth with a smile. She would give you her packet when you left yours in your cubby, and when the two of you were subbed off, she’d sing your ear off with the strangest songs you ever heard.
When she first slept over with you, Victoria and Alessia, she refused to play Monopoly if she wasn't the dog, and you had to remind her that she wasn't actually going into debt — she could've just mortgaged her properties — but she threw her hands up and claimed everyone was gaining up on her. She took the blankets all to herself when you went to sleep, and when you whinged about how you were cold, she curled both her arms around your waist and cuddled you like a teddy bear.
Unrecognizably, Kyra’s Dutch started to improve. Neither of you noticed it at first, having used Google Translate in the first few weeks of meeting each other, but ever so slowly, the Australian found herself talking small phrases to you in your native language.
It wasn't like she went home and practised them on Duolingo, no, she’d never…
“My jacket looks good on you,” Kyra said to your hunched figure. You don't look up at her, but from her tone, you can tell she is smug.
Today's game against Chelsea was a big one. The famous London Derby was well awaited, with the Emirates banking up to pretty much sell out by the morning of. You kept seeing the anticipation of the game on social media. Tweets on the starting eleven predictions and score prognosis were being thrown left and right, causing you to feel slightly displaced regarding the upcoming match.
You had sat next to Kyra on the bus, having done so for every game this season so far. The trip to the stadium wasn't far, yet the suspense of the crowds daunted you as your head leaned against Kyra’s shoulders.
You were a part of the starting eleven, meaning you’d be up against Jessie Fleming and Erin Cuthbert. The young Aussie beside you wasn't, which rattled you even more. The combination of you, Vic, Kyra and Katie in Midfield was unstoppable, but on the rare occasion that you were all on the field at once was rare. Vic and Lessi were sitting in front of you, making TikToks. Vic had gotten up early this morning, but you two still managed to nearly miss the bus. Alessia was wearing her usual multiple layers of clothing, while Vic was only in her kit.
You matched Kyra’s silence for most of the ride, her small conversation being met with your distant hums. She could tell you were nervous, you didn't know how, but she knew.
“Domme meid.” Silly girl. She muttered. This nickname wasn't new to you. In fact, it was used quite frequently by your Netherlands teammates. Nonetheless, the quip made you look up, meeting the Aussie’s beady, brown eyes and childish smirk.
“I am not silly.” You retorted. “You are.”
“I am what?”
“Silly.”
Kyra shook her head, running her hand through her hair, her smile brighter. “Je stress te veel.” You stress too much.
“Ik niet. Je bent te relaxed. Ik benadruk omdat ik het goed wil doen.” I do not. You are too laid back. I stress because I want to do well. Your voice was pointed, the glare from your eyes making your point known.
But your gaze softened upon seeing Kyra’s eyes widen, her nose twitching as her lips fell into a frown. She didn't understand.
“Sorry.” You sighed, smoothing your shorts out with your hands. “I am… I am stressed… I want to…”
“Do well?”
You nodded, her face smoothing over. “Yes.”
“You are a very good player.” Without much thought, Kyra took your hand, her thumb drawing patterns over your palm. The blush that fell over your cheeks was noticeable. You could tell by Kyra’s smile. “You play very well.”
You could tell Kyra was struggling to find the right words to say. She bit her lip in thought, pulling out her phone. You knew what she was doing right away.
When she finished typing, the familiar voice rang out.
“Je zult niet begrijpen wat ik zeg als ik Engels spreek. Je moet je vandaag geen zorgen maken, want je bent een van de beste middenvelders die ik ken. Je hebt ongelooflijke vaardigheden. Je verdient het om trots te zijn op wat je kunt doen.” You won't understand what I’m saying if I speak in English. You shouldn't worry about today because you are one of the best Midfielders I know. You have incredible abilities. You deserve to feel proud of what you can do.
Your cheeks were very red by this point, your grip on Kyra’s hand tightening as you listened to the voice pour out of her phone.
“I want you to… play.”
“I might come on. You never know.”
You shook your head, telling her you didn't understand. She started typing up a storm once more, and you watched in adoration as a concentrated crease formed between her eyebrows.
“Als je je nerveus voelt, kijk dan rond en tel hoeveel mensen je trui dragen. Elke week zie ik hoop. Dat zal je laten zien hoeveel mensen in je geloven, zelfs als je dat niet doet.” If you are feeling nervous out there, look around and count how many people are wearing your jersey. Every week I see heaps. That’ll show you how many people believe in you, even if you don't.
You beamed, moving closer to Kyra by hugging her waist, using one of your arms to push underneath the hem of her shirt. You fiddled with the fabric to whole way there, feeling a wave of calm and peace flow over you.
***
Not once had you interacted with a reporter throughout your time at Arsenal. Never once did you find yourself in the awful situation of being caught out after a game.
Until now.
The game went incredibly well for the Gunner, coming away with a four-one win against the top of the ladder in front of nearly 70,000 people. You played the whole game, assisting one of the goals, and receiving player of the match.
This was your first time accepting an award at Arsenal. Kyra got the fan’s Player of the Month in November, which was definitely well deserved. At first, you had thought Alessia wouldn't obtain today’s award, but you were pleasantly surprised when Kyra came running up to you with the trophy, probably snatching it off someone so that she could be the first to hold it.
“Look at you go, Y/n/n.” She spoke, slipping her arms around your waist, spinning you around. “So proud of you.” This was a very special moment for you. You were trying awfully hard in your new club, and it felt like all of the tough work was paying off.
You were about to answer Kyra, praising her on the game she had, being subbed on in the second half, when you felt a presence come up behind you, alongside several cameras.
This was not your first time in front of the media, being known for your charismatic media presence back at AFC Ajax. You noticed fans loved the challenges you did with your old teammates and the joy you’d bring to the videos that would gain so many more views than all the others. You’d been tagged in all these tweets begging you to be in an Arsenal video, but you knew it wouldn't be the same.
You’d stutter, unable to find the right words you were thinking of in Dutch. Your humour wouldn't be as quick and witty in English. While you had grown an uncanny friendship with all of the Arsenal girls over these last months, you had known your Ajax teammates for four years, some even longer if you played with them at youth level.
“Y/n, congratulations on the game today and, of course, on Player of The Match, how would you describe this moment?”
The reporter was quick to point her microphone at you, waiting as you stood there speechless at her words. You only caught onto snippets of her speech. You hadn't heard the first part of her question, being too caught up in your moment with Kyra.
The Aussie was standing next to you, her arms still wrapped around your waist. She must've caught onto your stunned disposition since she swiftly moved you from side to side, stalling the moment by dancing with you cheekily.
The reporter laughed at the interaction, the cameraman panning to catch Kyra’s cunning smile and your flushing cheeks. She took the trophy from your hands, holding it up like Simba from The Lion King. You were giggling at the sight, and the camera caught Kyra’s beaming, proud response to your reaction.
“Well, I think this moment speaks for itself. Kyra, do you think Y/n’s commendation was well deserved?”
Kyra took her arm and swung it over your shoulder, giving you the trophy back with a toothy grin. “Who else would they give it to?”
“Lessi.” You suggested, modest in your attempt to calm the hyper state Kyra was in. The reporter laughed as Kyra gasped.
“You’re just being humble. She's a stress head, y’know, always worrying about the game. But look,” She pointed at the trophy, specifically your engraved name. “The amount of jerseys with her name on it says enough.”
“How are you going to celebrate now?” The woman asked, the microphone now between the two of you.
“Play a game of Monopoly.” Kyra smirked, watching you scoff.
“No.”

## reader x leah williamson (childhood friend) !!
Tumblr media

this IS a christmas themed fic! <3
pure fluffy flirting, unfinished business hints, angst, rough family-dynamic and parent / child relationship, hinting at past experiences with leah & r, childhood memories.
4.3k words.
PART 1 - christmas eve.
"you promised you would be here for christmas this year!" you shout down the phone, fingers clenched so tightly around the device your knuckles begin turning white.
"y/n, don't act like a brat. your father and i work very hard and you know how important our work is to us!"
"i know that mum, but you promised!"
"well there's nothing that can be done now! it's too late!"
"its only an hours drive mum!"
"well it's not happening y/n! and that is final!"
"so you would rather stay in london and work, rather than spend christmas with your daughter? her first christmas back in the country?"
"don't turn this into a big thing, it's simply how life works sometimes."
"whatever. merry fucking christmas."
"don't you dar-"
you don't hear the end of the sentence before the phone call is ended and your phone is laid screen down on the table in front of you. you pace beside the dining table and your eyes meet the piles of presents you had laid out for them, all labelled and wrapped with love. you feel a bitterness that you know all too well course through your stomach and rise through into your throat with an acidic burn.
it riles you up until you're rushing towards the front door, angrily zipping your coat up and shoving your keys into your pocket. you slam it behind you and begin out into the rain, feet stomping with no real purpose but to blow off steam. the rain is aggressive paired with the harsh winter wind, but you're too focused on the millions of thoughts racing through your mind.
memories of christmas past hit you deep in your chest, stinging and stabbing like a vicious blade. the teenage years you spent begging for your parents to be there, to want to spend time with you. the smaller, more confused version of you that would stay awake on christmas eve but not to hear for santa, instead to hear for their keys jingling through the house.
it only fuels the fire behind your eyes and the pain in your veins. so you walk, and keep walking.
you don't, or can't, catch your breath the entire time. allowing the heavy rain to beat against your skin as you keep walking. you pass the familiar streets and houses, all decked out with festive lights and decorations of joy, but you don't stop. keeping your eyes on the concrete, your vision still blurred by tears. the cold is harsh against the skin of your face and hands, so harsh it's almost oppressive. beneath your coat, your outfit is impractical for the weather, but you don't care.
you fight against the rain as you haul through the town, head tucked down and determined to push through it - which has only gotten heavier and is now beating against your skin like bullets and seeping through the fabric of your coat and onto clothes.
the hours leading up to this blur into a pile of madness in your mind, and you don't realise where your body has carried you until you're standing outside her door. bell already pressed and chest heaving to recover from the brisk pace you managed to keep up through the storm. the roof of the porch providing you with a much-needed break from the rain. it feels familiar, the same as it did all those years ago.
you stand still, clenching your jaw and fists in an attempt to still the chattering of your teeth and the shaking of your limbs as the cold finally catches up to you.
a shadow approaches after a few moments, and you hear the muffled laughter as they move towards the door. the door swings open after a second, and she's not there. instead, her mum stands on the other side of the threshold. a santa hat sat perfectly on her head, you can see the warmth in her cheeks from her familiar smile - though it falters when she meets your eye. her previous look is replaced with one of concern, her brows furrowing and eyes widening as she takes you in.
"amanda," you manage to whisper when you look at her. eyes pooling with tears once more. the realisation of your presence hitting her like a ton of bricks. "im so sorry to just turn up, but i didn't know where else to go and i just kept walking and then i was here and i-" you ramble out a string of words that just barely make sense until you feel her pull you into the warmth of the house.
"y/n, love, breath." she says softly, rushing to push the door shut with her foot as her arms move to unzip the drenched and practically useless coat from around you. she lets it fall to the ground with no regard for the carpet and moves to wrap her arms around your shaking body.
you relax into her embrace and continue attempting to drag deep breaths through your nose and into your lungs while mumbling an array of apologies. suddenly you're no longer an adult to her, you're the same child that would rush around after school to yank leah into the garden to play football. the same child she opened her home to countless times when your parents were away.
"y/n, sweetheart, you need to breathe," she says with more conviction this time, bringing her hand to your back to coax a deeper breath and attempt to warm the skin simultaneously.
you stand against her for a few minutes, until your breathing slows to a manageable pace and you can fathom words again. her hand still drags across your back as she lifts her head to turns it in the direction of the living you.
"bubba, can you come here?" the muffled conversations get louder when a door opens and then shuts with a small thud, and footsteps approach you both in the hall.
"what you doing out here mum? we're about to get uno out.." her voice falls quiet. "y/n?"
you turn to face her with tear-stained cheeks and a weak smile.
its been years, enough to forget and move on. but the look on her face has you cursing yourself for being away for so long, and you know that she hasn’t. she hasn’t forgotten. the way her eyes melt when they meet yours tells you everything you need to know. you go speak at the same time, but your voice is weak. it breaks and cracks and she falls silent, brows furrowed with concern as she shuts the front room door behind her, keeping this moment to herself and confined to the small room.
"they're not coming. no one is coming and I don't expect you to do anything, i haven’t even had a chance to settle in properly- but i didn't know where else to go." you breathe a shakey breath, it's quick and shallow but enough to fuel your next sentence. your voice breaks once more, and your shoulders fall into themselves as a low sob raises from your throat again. she makes her way across the small space between you and catches your cold frame with hers, arms wrapping tightly around you "no one is coming," you sob into her chest.
amanda leaves with a pat on your back to go find you some clothes to change into as the pair of you stand there for a few minutes. you feel small beneath her, her chin resting on your head as it lays against her chest.
"why didn't you call? i didn’t know you were back, i could've come to get you," she whispers,
"i left my phone at the house, and i just started walking, and then i was here im so sorry,"
"stop apologising. you know mum loves a guest, especially you." she jokes softly, and you feel her shoulders rise with her smile when you let out a breathy laugh against her.
after a little while, amanda comes back with a change of clothes and a fresh towel, pushing them towards you and gesturing her head up the stairs. "go and take a nice warm shower, then put these on love. that'll get you warmed up."
you reach out take them hesitantly, then pull your arms back by your side. "i'll make my way home in a minute amanda, thank you though-"
"you absolutely will not." she says with typical mum raised eyebrows, pushing them back to you "now go,"
you smile weakly and take them from her, "thank you." you whisper as she waves you off and up the stairs. you turn back to face them from the top step, both of them still watching on.
“just like old times, eh love?” amanda adds with a wide smile.
━━━━━━━━━━
the shower feels like heaven, the warmth spreading across your skin and warming you right to the bone. you take in the few moments of serenity the warm water gives you, allowing your eyes to close and your muscles to relax. you let your mind wander, let it drift away from the sad and harsh reality that has become your life. you use leah's shampoo to wash your hair, recognising the smell immediately and allowing yourself to laugh that she has used the same brand since you've known her.
once you're out you brush your hair, letting it fall down your back as you pull on the clothes amanda had pulled out for you. you recognise an old pair of leah's pyjama bottoms and a smile in acknowledgement of fond memories breaks across your lips.
you make your way back down the stairs a little later, feeling refreshed from your new-found warmth and comfier clothes that lack the ability to stick to every inch of your skin.
the house is the same, and the years feel like they melt away from you. you hesitate outside the door to the front room, a small smile on your lips at the house of laughter from the other side. you reach a knuckle to announce your presence before you open it and enter.
everyone is in their respective spots: david and amanda on the sofa, with leah at their feet sprawled across the carpet; her cousins surrounding her. you feel fourteen again, leah’s clothes still hanging from you in all the same places. you share a smile with everyone, holding up your hands in a make-shift surrender. “apologies for gate crashing, i still like to make an entran-” you don’t manage to finish before jordan and jacob, leah’s cousin and brother are up and wrapping their arms around you hurriedly - tugging you to the floor.
it doesn’t feel different, or strange. you fit back into the same place you left off all those years ago. you play a few rounds of uno with leah and her family, and drink countless cups of tea. amanda always made the best one, even when you were young, so you make use of her skill. it’s nearing 9pm when you finally decide its time to remove yourself from the bubble you’ve been in- and into the hallway beyond the front room.
you try to quietly and quickly slip your still wet coat back onto your frame, but your silent antics are interrupted by leah’s voice.
“where you running off to?” she asks, leant against the small table on the wall with her arms crossed over her chest.
“just getting out of your hair,” you reply, smiling small. “thank you for letting me in, even just for a few hours. it was fun.” you turn back around to zip up your coat and begin dressing again.
“you don’t have to go yet, y/n,”
“i’m sure all of you have so much left to do in prep for the littles tonight so i’ll see you-”
“i mean it, you’re welcome to stay for a bit,”
“plus its christmas, who wants a stranger in the house at christmas?”
it’s as if you’re having two different conversations, at the exact same time. each of your voices overlapping and interrupting - unable to hold steady rhythm. as you speak you pull on your trainers one by one, not really paying attention to the words leah is saying, instead focused on your mountain of excuses to cut the visit short. it isn’t until you hear her voice drop, to barely above a whisper, that you process what she is saying.
“y/n!” her normal voice, calm and collected, snaps you out of your own mind. “please. stay.” its low and quiet, but loud enough for you to hear across the space between you. you whip around to face her, her eyes locked on you and her breathing steady.
“what?”
“stay.”
"leah," you start, head tilted. "i couldn't do that,"
"spend christmas with us," she pauses for a beat, eyes searching yours and your features. "with me,"
you feel like you somehow have managed to travel back in time, transported to the exact moment all those years ago when you told leah you were leaving. you remember how her face fell in the exact same way, how her hands twitched as she fought against the urge to reach for you and keep you with her forever, how she couldn't choke back her tears when she begged you not to go.
the same guilt and pain you knew all too well began to spread through you again, starting in the tips of your fingers and receding up your arms until it sat dormant in your chest.
"i can't." you whisper, unsure whether to yourself or to her.
"you can," she replies anyway. "i already spoke to mum, and to dad, and everyone else. we want you here."
"why?"
"because i'd rather you be here, with us, with me, than alone when you wake up on christmas morning."
you fall into silence, or silence full onto you, you're not sure. taking a deep and quaking breath that trembles through your lips.
you don't say any words, instead, just unzip your coat and slip your shoes off. pushing them back beside the drawers against the wall and hanging your jacket back onto the hook. you turn to face her with a small smile.
"okay."
she lets out a breath you didn't know she was holding and moves to embrace you, you melt into her arms and breathe with her for a few moments. "i would've looked like a real tit if you said no," you both share a laugh. not a small or pathetic breathy one, a proper laugh. a laugh that almost has you snorting like you used to.
"you look like a tit anyway," you add, as you both make your way back into the front room. you don't think twice as you walk towards amanda and david, who sit with their eyes fixed on the tv as an episode recap of eastenders begins to play. you lean between them both, wrapping your arms around the pair of them. it takes them by surprise for a second, before their arms are around you too.
everyone spends the next half hour all huddled around the tv, beside leah. more-so on top of leah. you share the armchair in the corner of the room, your legs on her lap and head fallen on her shoulder. breathing deeply with your eyes closed tight. you don't think you're asleep, too aware of your surroundings to be sleeping properly. but you're calm, very calm.
laughter from the floor is what makes you open your eyes and adjust to the lights again, met with leah's eyes as she nudges you with her shoulder. "alright sleeping beauty?"
"sorry, i didn't even realise i fell asleep," she shakes her head in response, dismissing your apology. "can you take me to mine in a minute, le?" the nickname slips out without you realising, but she doesn’t react.
“thought you said you would stay?”
“i am, i just want to go and get some stuff so that i can actually look nice tomorrow,”
“you always look nice,” she says lowly, looking back out to the distracted room. you roll your eyes, shaking your head at her and lifting a single brow as if to push her to answer your question.
“yes, go and get your shoes on and we’ll go now,” you smile to thank her and rise from the chair beside her.
"where are you two off to?" david asks as you walk past.
"just going to y/n's to grab her stuff to stay over,"
"well, don't be long, love actually will be on soon!" amanda replies excitedly, which david replies to with a roll of his eyes.
━━━━━━━━━━
whilst in your house, you took a moment to look at the presents beneath your tree. to look at the gifts you had accumulated through the months in hopes your parents would have the same childlike joy on their faces christmas morning as you once did. you considered leaving them, maybe shipping them off to their london house for them to enjoy alone. but deep down you knew they didn't deserve it. they didn't deserve the effort you had made for them.
you let your fingertips run across the presents, the new appliances and products you bought for your mum and dad alike. your fingers then fell to the labels you had added. you twisted the tag in your hand, reading the words you had written with love. you let it sit in your palm, dazed by the pain of your parents' missing presence.
"i'm sorry they're not here, y/n." you hear leah speak from behind you, leaning against the kitchen island.
"i'm not," you begin. "i'd rather spend it with people that give a shit anyway,"
you let your fingers wrap around the tag, slipping the attached string out of the piece of tape which was securing it down and screwing it into a ball. you did this to all of the presents, taking each of the tags one by one and removing them until they were left in a pile beside you. you took the presents, piling them into bags you had instructed leah to get from a cupboard in the kitchen.
"be a shame to let perfectly good presents go to waste," you said with a small sigh as you carried them over to your front door, making sure to grab your phone and pop it into your pocket.
you're gone and back in less than an hour, with a bag packed of clothes, your own pyjamas as well as everything you'll need for tomorrow and maybe another night in the williamson household slung over your shoulder and two large bags packed with presents in either hand. leah trailed behind from the car with an additional bag of gifts in her hand, helping you through the door and placing them on the floor.
you stand there for a minute, staring at the bags below you, leah locking the door and placing her keys in their spot before she joins you. standing shoulder to shoulder with you, in a comfortable silence. you feel her fingers brush the back of your own when she lets her arms relax on either side of her body.
"i'm glad you're here,"
"you were the one convincing me to stay,"
"no, i mean here, back in england."
you draw in a breath. "me too." her fingers brush yours again, this time she allows her pinky to link with your own. her hands warm against the chill of yours. "im sorry i left,"
"yeah, me too," she replies lowly.
you stay there for a bit, lost in the forgotten comfort of her and her presence. it feels right, normal. no anxiety or awkwardness. so you bask in the stillness with her, away from prying eyes and the events of life that came before this very moment. you enjoy the hush of the hallway together, standing still, pinkies intertwined. you don't know what to say or to do, so you don't do anything or say anything. you just breathe, together.
"come on then," she says quietly breaking the silence after a minute or so. "we better put these presents under the tree, santa's orders,"
you cant help but laugh at her, and nod along to her words. picking up the bags and pushing them through into the front room, leaving the moment to fester alone in the four walls of the hall. jacob and his family had already made their way to the spare bedroom, and jordan and hers had made their way home - so when you walked back into the living room, only amanda and david remained waiting for you both.
"what on earth is all that!" amanda asks from the same position as when you left, eyeing the bags in your hands.
"presents," you push them to the floor and begin taking them out of the bags.
"y/n, you didn't have to do that love." dad says, shaking his head at you.
"i know, but i would rather give them to people who deserve them. i'd rather you guys have them, and use them and appreciate them." you say, rarely looking up from the gifts as you place them into piles, suddenly too aware of the eyes on you. "it's not a big deal, and i don't want to make it one. christmas isn't about that. but i hope you guys will take them, and enjoy them. just think of them as a thank you, for all you've done for me over the last decade." you say the last bit through a laugh, and finally look up to them. each of them looking back at you with nothing but love in their eyes.
"oh, y/n," amanda says softly, waving you over to them both, which you do - pulling yourself up off the floor and to stand in front of them. you don't get a chance to say anything to add to your previous point before amanda's arms are around you for what feels like the hundredth time tonight alone. "i am so, so happy you decided to stay." she whispers for only you to hear, then pulls away. "and to be honest i was sick of leah barking on about how much she missed you," she says in jest and gets up to walk to the kitchen, "every bloody day," which makes you laugh.
david juts his hand between you, and you take his in yours. "welcome home, y/n love." he says, pulling you into a dad-like hug before following his wife into the kitchen.
the living room was a picture of warmth and cheer, the soft glow of the christmas tree lights casting a gentle hue over the neatly wrapped presents beneath it. the smell of pine mingled with faint smell of tea through the house, you turned to survey the room around you - including leah.
"i feel bad that i haven't got you anything," she says, looking at you from her spot beside the tree.
"this is enough,"
"what do you mean?"
"i mean this, being here with you, with all of you."
the four of you spent another hour awake, watching the rest of love actually and chatting about life. catching up on the years missed from either side. when the fill finally draws to a close, amanda and david say their goodnights and head up to bed, leaving you and leah downstairs on the sofa. the room was lit with nothing but the lights from the tree, and the tv.
you yawn, so large it makes your eyes water and turn to face leah. "you can go up to bed, don't let me keep you down here." you say to her, snuggling your head into the pillow beside you for comfort.
"you not coming up?"
"i can sleep on the sofa leah, its fine."
"but what about santa?" she teases, poking you.
"im fine down here, really."
"come up with me," she speaks whilst trying to find the remote that has somehow disappeared. "it wouldn't be the first time we're shared a bed,"
"i know that," you roll your eyes, stomach flipping with the thought of sleeping beside her.
"then come to bed," finally, she finds the remote and shuts off the tv. her words spoken as if they are final, causing you to sigh.
"fine."
you work together to lock the doors and turn off the lights, then make your way upstairs. so now, you find yourself tucked into leah's childhood double bed. laid stiff as a board beside her as she flicks through netflix for something to fall asleep to. it shouldn't feel different, you've been here, in this exact position a thousand times. but it does, it feels so different that it's blinding. the sound of your heart in your ears is deafening, but you try your hardest to ignore it.
she asks what you fancy absentmindedly, unaware of the way your stomach swills when she speaks. you tell her to pick whatever she wants, unable to process a proper answer in your current state. you try your hardest to swallow your anxiety, to not draw attention to the way your body lays entirely still next to her.
she hands you the remote after she has chosen, in case you want to change it. you don't, instead you smile and put it onto the dresser next to you. you feel her shuffle to get comfy, then she's facing you, hands tucked beneath her head and chin.
"stop freaking out, y/n." she mumbled with a sickening smirk.
"im bloody not,"
"liar."
"shut up,"
"lay down and i will,"
"oh i have not missed this,"
"lay down then,"
"yeah i will,"
"come to sleep,"
you roll your eyes at her persistence, nothing has changed. you have probably had this conversation a thousand times in the years you have known her, and you know better than to try and fight it. so, you turn to put your phone on charge and then turn back to her, mirroring her position.
"goodnight, leah."
"goodnight, y/n."
"merry christmas,"

drunk in love II a.russo x reader
Tumblr media
started as a blurb....fell in love with drunk lessi and it became a fic
drunk in love II a.russo 4.5K words
you had almost drifted off to sleep, eyes heavy and struggling not to slam closed when the sofa began to vibrate underneath you and your ring tone jolted you back into reality, sitting up at the sudden noise.
with a frustrated huff you began digging around beneath the copious amount of blankets and pillows you were buried under to find your phone, finally finding it on what must have been its last ring.
seeing your girlfriends name and positively adorable contact photo flash on the screen you clicked accept, nestling the device between your ear and shoulder and settling yourself back into the sofa, pausing the tv.
"hi baby, you alright?" you asked softly with a smile, wincing and holding the phone away from your ear as your girlfriend loudly yelled out hello, and based on her struggles not to slur or skip over her words she'd had just a few glasses of wine.
having played one of the best matches you'd seen in months the blonde striker had scored the winning goal against arsenal today. having celebrated her win with her at the stadium you'd left her to carry on the celebrations at mary's house, encouraging she spend some quality time with her team mates and you'd spend her entire day off with her tomorrow.
it had taken the stubborn striker some convincing to agree, but once you'd roped in her best friend to help you argue your point she'd gone willingly, not without pressing a searing kiss to your lips and mumbling how she would be missing you the entire time.
admittedly you had missed her, but a night in to yourself to catch up on love island and sloth out on the sofa wasn't something you disliked by any means.
you and alessia were both incredibly independent from a young age and it meant you had made a point to respect when the other needed some space or time away, and you'd like to say communication was one of the main strengths of your near two year relationship.
"my beautiful gorgeous lovely girl can you come and get me?" the blonde slurred and you smiled hearing ella yell out in the background to say please and the sound of a loud smack to which alessia loudly protested and another slap sounded before you heard millie intervene.
"children the pair of you, honestly! I don't know how you put up with them." millie grabbed the phone the comment directed to you, confirming it was indeed time for your girlfriend to head off home and asking if she and ella were able to get a lift back to her place which you instantly agreed to, not wanting any of them to get in an uber in their current states.
"thanks sexy bum! can't wait to see you." you heard ella now grab the phone cheering drunkenly as once more there was a loud slap and you chuckled hearing alessia instantly kick off, yelling that no one was allowed to call you that but her as the sounds of a struggle continued and millie took the phone back, telling you to call her once you were outside.
slipping into a pair of your girlfriends trainers she'd left laying around for herself to trip over you grabbed your car keys, contemplating for a fleeting moment if you should dare to take alessias merc. though knowing how she could be when she was drunk you decided against winding her up any further and locked the door after you.
having been to marys house for dinners and movie nights almost as often as your own you arrived in record time. you tried to call millie but the girls phone rang out, your girlfriends also doing the same and tooneys seemingly dead as you shifted the car into park and stepped outside.
knocking a few times on the door you could hear music pumping from inside and mentally braced yourself for what was to come. thankfully it was only a tipsy looking mary who opened the door, the taller girl wrapping you in a tight bear hug and carrying you inside much to your laughs and demands to be put down.
no sooner had your feet hit the floor though did a bundle of blonde hair slam into you, almost knocking you to the ground as alessia clung to you as if you could fly away at any moment. "hello gorgeous." the blonde grinned instantly pressing her lips to yours, you quick to shove her off as she tried to ram her tongue down your throat, your cheeks flushed a rosy pink as a few of her team mates whistled jeeringly at the spectacle.
"hello, you taste like red wine." you smiled in amusement, spotting millie trying to wrestle ella back into her trainers and jumper much to the younger girls insistent protests that she wasn't ready to leave yet. "i may have had...just a little bit?" alessia grinned, tips of her ears flushed a deep shade of red which was another giveaway as to how drunk she really was.
"oh my favourite! TOONEY!" alessia hollered loudly, dropping your hand and stumbling over to her best friend as young hearts run free blasted over the speaker, the two girls wrapping one another in a hug and jumping around the room screaming the lyrics with a resounding amount of passion but very out of tune.
grabbing out your phone you took a quick video, joined by millie who shook her head at the pair and kissed your cheek in greeting, starting to make her rounds saying goodbye to those who were still present.
leaving your girlfriend to finish her performance you did the same, exchanging congratulations and hugs with the women scattered around the room, promising mary you'd definitely join them all next time as the song changed and your attention shifted back to alessia.
with the assistance of a few of the girls you managed to get alessia and ella outside, mary blowing you all a kiss before she disappeared back into her house. "can i please smack your bum to wind less up?" ella whispered in your ear with a cheeky smile and you nodded with a sigh, knowing the younger girl would likely do it anyway even if you'd said no.
"oi less your missus said i'm fitter than you!" ella teased, smacking you and sprinting off as alessia let out a loud war cry and charged after her, somehow managing not to trip over her own feet as her long legs easily caught up to the younger brunette.
"should we just let them chase each other home?" millie contemplated as the two of you leant against your car, watching as alessia easily took ella down with a shout, the two of them rolling around and wrestling like school children on marys front lawn.
"if i drove off less would probably run after the car for at least a few blocks." you shrugged, millie grinning at you and bumping your shoulder before pushing herself up and letting out a deep sigh, marching over to the two.
"alessia!" you eventually called out watching millie struggle to separate them without being pulled into the squabble herself, crossing your arms over your chest as the blondes head popped up and stared at you over millies shoulder.
"baby i'm tired can we please go?" you asked softly, alessia nodding enthusiastically and grabbing ellas collar practically dragging the girl over to the car and shoving her in much to tooneys ongoing cries she didn't wish to be manhandled.
allowing alessia to have control of the music the car ride was filled with excitable chatter as you pulled out and headed off toward millies home, ella staying the night there as her boyfriend was away for the weekend.
the topic changing to what you'd gotten up to that evening the conversation switched toward the latest few episodes of love island you'd been catching up on. millie and you spoke animatedly about the ongoing drama as she was also caught up, ella drunkenly yelling along to the music at the top of her lungs with her head slumped against the window, breath fogging up the glass.
feeling alessias hand settle on your thigh you didn't think much of it, the action not uncommon from the incredibly touchy girl whose affections only increased whenever she'd had a drink or ten.
though as her fingers wandered up the inside of your shorts dangerously close to your underwear you were quick to grab her hand and place it back in her own lap, staring at her firmly and shaking your head, the blonde only sending you a lopsided smile and sinking down further into the seat.
"alessia." you warned quietly when her hand once more grabbed at the inside of your thigh, pushing up and into your shorts as you gave her another firm stare, yanking her hand off you and tightly gripping it, holding it down on the console as you pulled up outside millies home.
"bye sexy bum." ellas head darted forward to place a sloppy kiss on your cheek as alessia gasped and reached around in her seat to try and hit her best friend, narrowly missing as the brunette slipped out of the car with a laugh.
you watched as her and millie stumbled up the driveway, making sure they'd safely gotten inside with a wave before driving off. it would seem that all of the excitement your previously chatty girlfriend mustered had faded away as you glanced over a few minutes later to see her asleep in the seat beside you.
"less, come on baby we're home." it would also appear that the copious amounts of alcohol she'd consumed had finally caught up with her as she muttered something in gibberish and closed her eyes again, crossing her arms over her chest.
with a chuckle you slipped out of the car and made your way around to her door, carefully opening it and unbuckling her seat belt, poking at her until she finally groaned and allowed you to pull her up and out of the car.
"come on less I need you to work with me here!" you grunted as the taller girl leant completely into you, doing your best to support her from falling as you kicked the car door shut and dragged her with you up to the front door.
realizing she'd swiped your house keys earlier to throw at ella you rummaged through her pockets trying to find them. "i don't know where they are okay!" alessia groaned drunkenly, throwing her hands in the air and narrowly missing hitting you in the face as you finally fished the keys out from her back pocket.
"oh I like when you touch me there sexy." the striker slurred suggestively trying to grab your hands as you wiggled the key in the lock, sighing in relief as it finally popped open. "come on." you heaved as you slung the girls arm around your shoulder, pulling her inside and kicking the door closed before prompting dropping her down on the sofa.
"okay i don't think i've seen you this drunk before." you ran a hand through your hair and shook your head both in disbelief and amusement at her state, which had significantly worsened over the short drive home, pushing away her wandering hands as they tried to wrap around your legs to pull you down on top of her.
"i'm not drunk!" alessia protested with a frown, grabbing instead onto your hoodie and trying to drag you onto the sofa with her as you dug your heels in. "baby i want a hug! come here right now." the older girl ordered with a huff, yanking on the soft material as you managed to pry her hands off.
"later, you need to eat something to soak up the alcohol." you chuckled at the older girls needy behavior as she whined and tried to grab you again. anyone who'd been out with you and alessia knew she could be protective and possessive at the best of times, but when she was drunk? she became aggressively needy and clingy.
"make me a cheese toastie." alessia demanded, giving up on her crusade to drag you down on the couch with a sigh, slinging an arm over her eyes. "make me a cheese toastie..." you trailed off suggestively, awaiting a please.
"now?" alessia guessed seriously, you rolling your eyes in response. "charming aren't you." you mumbled but padded off into the kitchen none the less, hearing your girlfriend unpause the tv and settle down into the sofa, kicking off a few cushions with a grunt.
"here less, eat please." you ordered softly, watching in amusement as the blonde struggled to pull herself into a sitting position before accepting the plate. leaving her to eat you returned to the kitchen, flipping your own toastie and pressing it down with a plate, glancing over to alessia every now and then to check on her.
"baby!" the italian groaned suddenly as you dumped the rinsed pan into the sink and grabbed your plate. "yes?" you asked amused, placing your plate onto the coffee table beside her now empty one. "get me a hoodie." alessia ordered before flopping down on her back on the sofa, looking to you expectantly and making a shooing motion with her hands when you didn't move.
"so bossy." you mumbled but headed for the bedroom none the less. "one of yours!" alessia called after you before laughing loudly at a video which popped up on her phone.
"one of yours." you mocked under your breath, grabbing one of your jumpers out of the wardrobe and slipping off alessias trainers, placing them neatly where they belonged.
"do you need a hand?" you withheld a laugh, alessia doubled over and grunting in frustration as she tried to unlace her trainers. "yes." alesia gave up with a huff, leaning back into the sofa with a glare as you shook your head and knelt down, tossing the jumper at your girlfriends face.
the older girl tugged on the soft material, unaware it was backwards until you glanced up and noticed her struggle. "less oh my god, stop!" you shook her head with a laugh, standing to your feet and lifting the girls arms up, twisting the jumper the right way round and pulling it down over her head, pushing her arms through the sleeves, much like you would dress a child.
"gotcha! c'mere sexy." alessias strong arms wrapped around your waist, trying to pull you down onto her lap as you almost dropped the toastie you'd just picked up. "lessi no I need to eat!" you laughed at her persistence, struggling to pull away from the strikers iron clad grip as you ate.
"i don't care give me attention." alessia slurred with a huff, only further proving the theory she was an aggressive soft, needy drunk.
taking all your strength not to be pulled down by the much stronger girl alessia finally gave up with a groan and withdrew her arms, crossing them over her chest and resting her head against the back of the couch, pouting up at you with a frown as you ate.
"what are you doing now?" you sighed as she suddenly stood, stumbling her way into the kitchen. grabbing both empty plates you quickly followed, alessia's head disappearing into the freezer as you rinsed the plates before leaving them in the sink with the pan.
the blonde reappeared with a half eaten pint of ice cream and a victorious grin, leaning against the fridge and struggling to open her prize.
"give it here you dope!" you laughed snatching the ice cream off of her and pulling yourself to sit on the counter. easily getting the lid off you jammed a spoon inside and held the tub out for alessia to take back.
"feed it to me." the taller girl mumbled, sliding her body in between your legs and running her hands fondly up and down your bare legs, resting her chin on your shoulder as you pressed a kiss to her head.
"you are such a needy drunk." you teased, alessia pinching your leg halfheartedly before accepting the spoon of ice cream you held out for her. "baby you're so beautiful." alessia looked up at you with star crossed eyes and a lopsided smile, hands moving to rest on your hips.
"you're so drunk, but you're very gorgeous." you smiled in return, leaning forward slightly to rest your forehead against hers. "i fucking love you." alessia moved to leave a cold kiss on your cheek, lips lingering there a moment. "i love you too." you echoed back sincerely, tossing the spoon into the sink with a loud clatter as the striker swallowed the last mouthful of ice cream there was.
"you taste like red wine and ice cream, it's a weird combination." you admitted as you pecked at her lips, pulling away with a scrunch of your nose. "oh you're so fucking cute." alessia slurred with a lazy smile rubbing circles into your hips, eyes beginning to droop a little as you ran your hands through her hair with a fond smile.
though you squealed in surprise as alessia suddenly hooked her hands under her thighs, attempting to carry you away out of the kitchen. "alessia no you can barely walk!" you shouted in protest as your girlfriend ignored you and continued pulling you off the counter.
just managing to land on your feet as the girl stumbled, grip loosening she dropped you and your eyes slit into an unimpressed glare.
"go!" you ordered with a point after she'd caught her balance, alessia sulking her way off toward the bedroom as you followed. "alessia, stay here." you warned as alessia collapsed onto the bed, beginning the arduous task of trying to shimmy herself out of her pants. "stop calling me that, you're only allowed to call me; baby, gorgeous, lessi, less, angel, my love, my everything, my-." the blonde pouted at you and began to list off the appropriate names on her fingers as you rolled your eyes and left her to it.
making your way back to the kitchen you grabbed two bottles of water and a tab of paracetamol before flicking off the lights. you knew you'd have no luck trying to get your girlfriend to drink any water now but knew she'd need it tomorrow morning when she no doubt woke up incredibly grumpy with a severe hangover.
switching off the tv and tidying up a little you flipped off the living room light and made your way back to the bedroom. it seemed alessia had given up trying to get out of her pants but had somehow successfully taken her bra off as it lay discarded in the middle of the floor.
leaving the paracetamol and water on her bedside table you darted to the end of the bed, grabbing alessias legs and sliding her pants down her legs before tossing them on the floor with her bra, grabbing out a pair of soft sleep shorts and slipping them on her.
"sit up please." you wiggled your fingers in her direction as alessia heaved and grabbed your hands, you tugging her into a sitting position. "can we at least brush your teeth please love?" you asked with a sigh, helping the taller girl to her feet as she nodded tiredly.
managing to guide her out of bed and to the bathroom you sat the blonde down on the lid of the toilet, not even daring to try allowing her to balance on the edge of the bath, she was enough of a hazard to herself whilst sober let alone drunk.
you squirted on some toothpaste and held out alessia's toothbrush to her, watching in amusement as the girl struggled to complete the task, leaning on a slight angle against the back of the toilet as you both brushed.
pausing for a moment alessia suddenly lurched forward on her feet, stumbling to the sink and rinsing out her mouth before you did the same.
having sobered up a tiny bit since getting some food into her stomach alessia was able to make her own way back to the bedroom, though you still kept a careful eye on her as you walked from one room back to the other.
"what are you doing now less?" you asked tiredly as the italian threw her phone on the bed, a familiar tune blasting out of it as the older girl turned toward her. "dance?" the blonde smiled lazily through half lidded eyes, holding her hand out expectantly
"oh now I know you're drunk if you want a dance." you laughed softly, alessia rolling her eyes but otherwise ignoring the comment, tugging you into her body as you both swayed together to the beat. "hey easy!" you laughed, quick to pull alessia back up as she tripped and almost fell face first onto the floor.
"think that's enough of that, thank you for the dance." you smiled, gently pushing your girlfriend to sit down on the bed who made no move to resist.
leaning over her you grabbed the older girls phone off the bed, clicking pause on the music before plugging it in to charge seeing her battery was lower than your own, alessia busying herself wriggling her body into bed.
"can I have my cuddle now or what?" the blonde asked moodily with a frown. "yes you can have a cuddle now." your body vibrated with quiet laughter as you flipped off the light, leaving the bedside lamp on before climbing into bed beside her.
"you're such a softie." you teased as alessias jumper clad arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you down the bed a little, bare legs intertwining as you pulled the duvet up to cover you both. "shut up or I'll smack you." alessia mumbled as threateningly as she could manage into your neck, the two of you laying there in one another's hold for awhile.
as her breathing evened out you assumed she'd passed out and reached over her to turn off the lamp. "you know what?" alessia spoke up, pulling her head out of your neck and looking up to you as you quirked an eyebrow curiously in response.
"you have never asked me on a date."
"thats not entirely true i made you ask me out on a date which you wouldn't have done without my push. so I've basically asked you out!" you argued her point to which alessia simply scoffed and rolled her eyes. "ask me on a proper date." the older girl demanded, removing her arms from around you to lean away and cross them grumpily over her chest.
"alessia mia teresa russo, will you please go on a date with me?" you gave in to her moody demands and asked with an adoring smile.
"no."  alessia answered bluntly, rolling onto her side and facing away from you whose mouth hung agape in shock.
"alessia!" you exclaimed shoving the girl who began to loudly laugh, clearly finding herself hilarious in her current intoxicated state. with a roll of your eyes you pulled yourself to sit up, intending to grab a jumper as the temperature had dropped much lower the longer the night dragged on, rain already promised for tomorrow.
"and where are you going?" your girlfriends arms wrapped around you from behind, holding you firmly in place. "to get a jumper it's cold." you mumbled and tried to pull her arms off though it was to no avail. "you don't need one you have me and my cuddles." alessia huffed, wiggling backwards on the bed and pulling you back into the bed with her.
"you are so needy." you shook your head, giving up and pulling the duvet back over the two of you with a roll of her eyes. "shut up or I'll smack you." alessia threatened again, resting her head on your chest still clinging tightly to your torso.
"aggressively needy." you whispered to yourself reaching over to flick off the lamp, plunging the bedroom into darkness. "baby you smell so good." alessia mumbled as her eyes slid closed, further tightening her hold around you. "thank you, you smell like a bar." you commented back, smiling into the dark as alessia pinched your side unamused.
alessias slender fingers traced small circles on the exposed skin of your side where your top had ridden up, your hands sliding into the older girls hair, gently massaging her scalp. a comfortable silence falling between them you had almost dozed off before alessia spoke up again.
"I don't deserve you, you know?"
shifting your position you slid down the bed a little to look directly at your girlfriend, nudging her head off your chest, both their eyes having now adjusted to the dark. "don't be daft." you denied the comment, moving your hand and resting it tenderly on the girls cold cheek.
"no I mean it, I don't." alessia struggled to get out, your brow deepening into a small frown at her words. "oh less. baby please don't say that, fate dropped us into each others lives for a reason, and because of that i wake up every day grateful to have met you and to have the privilege to love you and be loved by you." you smiled sincerely, suddenly feeling something wet drip onto you hand.
"oh my god are you crying?" "i hate cheesy rubbish like that!" alessia sobbed and you bit down on your lip to hide a smile at the older girls drunken antics.
"my god you are such a soft drunk." you laughed quietly to yourself, thumb gently wiping away the remaining tears which threatened to fall before pressing a soft kiss to the strikers lips.
"shut up or-" "or you'll smack me, yes I know." you shook your head with a smile, rolling onto your back as alessia tucked her head back into your neck, arms wrapping tightly around your smaller frame. "good." the blonde grumbled tiredly, your hands sliding up the back of her jumper to lightly scratch up and down the girls bare back.
"go to sleep my love." you whispered in amusement pressing a tender kiss to her warm forehead, alessia muttering something along the lines of an i love you before her breathing evened out and her tight grip on your top loosened a little.
you drifted off into your own dreamless sleep, wrapped up in your little love bubble, with your big drunk softie.

PART 1
--
You didn’t fully remember what had happened that night.
It had all started off very typical.  You’d had tea and a bath and watched a bit of telly before heading upstairs to your room for bed.  You were 7 now and a big girl, and certain you didn’t need tucking in anymore, so you gave your Mummy and Daddy kisses and cuddles before you went to brush your teeth and then snuggled under your bed covers to keep reading your current library book, Matilda.
At some point you must have dozed off, because you woke up as your Daddy popped his head in through your door to check on you.
“You alright, Bunny?” he asked.  Your nickname had been Bunny for as long as you could remember.  You had been given a bunny stuffie named Arthur by your Nana on the day you were born, and he had been your trusty companion ever since.  Bunnies were also your favourite animal, however you weren’t allowed one as a pet because your Daddy was allergic.  Apparently that meant he came up in big bright red spots whenever he got near one.  Surely there was some kind of cream that though.
“Can I come sleep in your bed with you and Mummy?” You had made sure to use your biggest, pleading eyes to try and convince him.
“Ohh alright.  But you have to remember to be careful of Mummy’s leg, okay?”
Mummy had hurt her leg a couple of weeks before.  She had been playing netball when someone on the other team had crashed into her and she landed poorly.  You weren’t totally sure what was wrong, but you knew that it was apparently worse than whatever Aunty Leah had done to her leg.  But it was also not as bad because your Mummy wasn’t a professional at netball, she just played for fun, and you think maybe they also won some wine sometimes but you’re not 100% sure.  Anyways, she had to go to hospital and have an operation and now she was on crutches (which you weren’t allowed to play on) and you had to help around the house a bit more because it was tricky for Mummy to get around.  You didn’t mind though, you were happy to be her little helper.
As you reached your parents room (Arthur clutched tightly under your arm), you found your Mummy already in the bed, her leg propped up on a pillow under the blanket.  Before she had a chance to ask what you were doing there, you quickly rattled out “Daddy said I could come sleep with you, please please please!”
Your Mummy just laughed and patted the spot beside her on the bed.  A few moments later you and Arthur were snuggled under the covers between your Mummy and Daddy and drifting soundly back to sleep.
The next time you awoke it was to a screeching alarm, one you recognised from when Daddy had tried to bake Mummy a birthday cake but had burned it really, really badly.
“Bunny!  Sweetie, wake up!”
As you opened your eyes you realised you were surrounded by thick black smoke.  Your chest felt tight, and the smoke stung your eyes so badly you couldn’t keep them open.  Everything felt foggy and faint and you could feel yourself quickly falling back asleep.
“Just take her! Save her! Get her out!”
You heard your Mummy’s screams over the blaring of the alarm.  You would hear those screams in your nightmares for the rest of your life.
The next thing you remember was being outside your house and your neighbour Mrs Green was passing you to an ambulance man.  You had Arthur clutched in your hand by his ear as the man lay you down on a wheely bed and put a funny smelling mask over your nose and mouth.
Then you were at the hospital and there was lots of nurses and doctors scrambling around, poking and prodding you.  You had still had the mask on your face that was filling your mouth and nose with funny smelling air.  There was a big needle sticking into your arm connected to a bag on a pole that kind of hurt a bit.  But worst of all, at some point you had lost hold of Arthur, and you could see him lying sadly on a bench across the room.
“She’s awake.”
“Y/N.  Hi, my name is Doctor Smith.  We’re just looking over you to make sure you’re doing okay.  We’ll get you back to a room really soon and then you can see your family, okay?”
Your family was here!  Thank goodness.  Whatever had happened, your Mummy and Daddy were fine and you would see them real soon.
You breathed a small sigh of relief but still reached out instinctively for Arthur.  A nice nurse with dark hair and big, round glasses noticed and looked over at the bunny.
“Is he your special friend?”
You nodded frantically.
“He’s very dirty at the moment, so he’s going to need a bath before you get him back for cuddles, I think.”
You realised that his normally light purple fur was closer to a dark grey colour, but you couldn’t understand how he got so dirty.  Surely a bit of smoke doesn’t get a bunny that dirty.
And then it hit you.
Smoke.
You’d only seen smoke come from a few things in real life before:
When your Daddy had burned that birthday cake
From the cigarettes the old ladies who sat outside the newsagents smoked
When there was lots of pretty fireworks and sparklers after Aunty Lessi and Leah won a big trophy
After you blew your birthday candles out
Smoke came from burning things.  Had Arthur been burned?
Before you could ask any questions, you were being wheeled into a room where your Nana and Aunty Lessi were.  You loved your Nana and your Aunty Lessi, you really did, but you wanted your Mummy and Daddy.  Where were your Mummy and Daddy?
“Oh Y/N, oh sweetie.  Oh, thank God you’re okay.”  Your Nana was crying as she reached for your hand and kissed your forehead.
You tuned out your Nana and the doctor’s conversation as out of the corner of your eye you spotted the nice nurse with the big, round glasses hand over Arthur, who had now been put in a plastic zippy bag, to your Aunty Lessi.  She whispered something to her you didn’t hear and Aunty Lessi nodded and put him carefully in a big sleepover bag she had with her.  You wondered why she had a sleepover bag with her here at the hospital.
“Does she know about…?” your Nana asked.
“No.  We thought it best that she heard it from family.”
You snapped back to the conversation going on over your head at these words, catching your Nana nodding as she wiped some more tears away from the corner of her eye.
“We’ll leave you be to have some privacy.  One of the nurses will be back in a while to check on her, but of course, don’t hesitate to press the buzzer if you need anything.”
As all the hospital staff left, your Aunty Lessi came around to the other side of the bed and gave you a hug as best as she could, trying not to bump your mask or the big needle in your arm.
“Nan-” you attempted to talk, but the smelly mask on your face was making your words sound all mumbly jumbly.  You also noticed that it hurt a bit in your chest and throat when you tried to speak, your hand automatically coming up to rest on your neck.
“It’s okay sweetheart, you don’t need to speak.  You just rest, okay?” your Nana told you.
You nodded, aware that there was something going on.  Something definitely wasn’t right.  Your eyes flicked between the two women, noticing that their eyes were red and puffy as though they’d been doing lots of crying.
After a long, awkward silence that seemed to stretch on forever and ever, your Aunty Lessi finally started to speak.
“Bunny, sweetie, there was a fire at your house.  We don’t know how or where it started, but there was a very bad fire, and it looks like it has destroyed the whole house.”
Your eyes widened as you began to put it all together – the smoke, the alarm, your Mummy screaming…
“Sweetheart, your Mummy and Daddy didn’t make it out.  We don’t know a whole lot yet, but we know that your Daddy ran out of the house with you and gave you to a neighbour.  You were very poorly and not breathing very well, and that’s why you’ve got to wear this mask to help you breathe.  He went back into the house, we can only assume to try and help your Mummy because she can’t… umm couldn’t move around too well because of her leg.  But they never made it out of the house.”
You didn’t really understand.  What did she mean they never made it out of the house?  Where did they go?  Where are they now?
“Bunny, do you understand what I’m saying?” your Aunty Lessi asked.
You shook your head furiously.  You just wanted to see your Mummy and Daddy.  Why weren’t they here?  Were they hurt?  Were they also lying in beds somewhere with masks on their faces and needles in their arms?
Your Nana stood up from her chair and sat down softly on the bed beside you.  She stroked her hand over your face a few times before cupping your cheek gently in her hands.
“I’m so sorry, Bun… Your Mummy and Daddy, they… oh Less, I can’t.  I can’t say it…”
Your Nana pulled away from you, burying her head in her hands as she stood up and turned away slightly.
“It’s okay, Mum.  I’ve… I’ve got it.”
Your Aunty Lessi swopped in and scooped your face gently into her hands, running her thumbs soothingly over your cheeks as you looked at her with confusion.
“Bunny sweetie, your Mummy and Daddy… d-died.”
You think your Aunty Lessi kept talking but her words just faded into background noise as you tuned out everything around you.  You were there, but not really.  Your body was, but your brain was just running over the words “Mummy and Daddy died” over and over and over and over until they lost all meaning.
Mummy died.
Daddy died.
Mummy and Daddy died.
You felt sad, but mostly you just felt kind of… nothing.  It felt almost like the sadness was a balloon that grew too big, too fast and it had popped and now all you were left with was nothing.
In the movies and in your books when people died, their family cried lots and lots.  Your Nana was crying, and it seemed like your Aunty had been crying.  But you didn’t feel like crying.  You did really, really feel like rubbing the soft fur of Arthurs ear across your cheek over and over and over though.
--
You had stayed in the hospital for a few nights before they let you go home.
Well, not really home.
But your new home.
You were going to live with your Aunty Lessi and Aunty Leah.  Your Aunty Lessi was your Mummy’s sister and Aunty Leah was her wife.  They both played football for their jobs and travelled a lot.  Before… well, before, you would go and visit them, or they would come visit and you would tell them all about the books you’d been reading and what you’d been learning in school and show them all the different breeds of rabbits there were in the big scrap book you’d been putting together.  That scrapbook was gone now though.  You weren’t sure if you would start making a new one.
Your Aunty Lessi had the most beautiful smile, and she always seemed to be able to make everyone laugh and be happy.  And your Aunty Leah was always a really good listener, and she gave the most excellent hugs.  Sometimes you would go and watch them play football, but you weren’t really interested in sports.  It was always too loud and there was way too many people there.  But it was always exciting when your Aunty Lessi would score a goal though, because if she knew you were in the crowd, she would point in your direction and make a heart with her hands.
You liked your Aunties. You loved them.  But you’d never spent the night at their house or had a sleepover with them.  You didn’t know any of the rules, and you didn’t have your Mummy to remind you of them before you went.  You wanted to be on your bestest behaviour, having read far too many stories and seen too many television shows about children whose parents died and then their new families treated them poorly.  You didn’t think you’d do very well in an orphanage or living on the streets.  You weren’t very tough like those kids were.
You’re not quite sure what to think of your new room at your Aunty Lessi and Leah’s house.  It’s very… adult.  A bit boring to be honest.  Just a big adult bed, a dresser and two bedside tables.  There is a big window however that overlooks the back garden that you quite like.  But you’re just grateful for somewhere to sleep really, thankful that your Aunties are letting you stay here at all.  You’d happily sleep on the loungeroom floor.
“We will pretty it up and get you lots of new toys and decorate it however you want, Bun.”  Your Aunty Lessi was stroking your hair as you cuddled into her side.  “This is just temporary until your new bed and furniture arrives and we get you all settled in, okay?”
You nodded gently, not really knowing how else to respond.  You were a bit shocked that they’d ordered you a new bed and were going to get you new toys.
“We did get you a few things to start you off with, just until we can all get down to the shops together to pick out some stuff.  I hope they’re okay…” Your Aunty Leah gestured towards the corner where you could see a few boxes and some brightly coloured stuffies peeking out through the handles of some shopping bags.  You looked up at her and blinked, unsure as to whether you were meant to thank her or go and inspect the items or what.
“We can go through that stuff later if you like?” Aunty Lessi suggested, squeezing your shoulder.  “How about we grab something to eat for lunch?”
Just as you were turning to leave the room, a tuft of light purple fluff caught your eye among the bags.
"Is that Arthur?" you asked.
"Oh, your bunny? Yes, Aunty Leah gave him a really good bath and got him all clean again."
You dashed forward and grabbed him from the pile of other toys and clothing, bringing him up to your face to rub his soft ears over your cheeks.
You wanted to say thank you, but those words didn't seem big enough. Instead, you hoped that someday, somehow you would be able to somewhat show your Aunties how much you appreciated them.
With Arthur now tucked under your arm, the three of you made your way down the hall towards the stairs.
“Oh, and remember that is mine and Aunty Lessi’s room,” Aunty Leah gestured towards a door on the right of the hall, pushing it open with her foot.  “If you ever need anything during the night, please don’t hesitate to come and get us.  I’m up and down all throughout the night going to the loo anyways because of this one,” she smirked as she rubbed her growing belly.
“Does it hurt? Growing a baby?”
You don’t really know why you asked.  You were curious, sure.  Your own tummy hurt a bit when you ate too much food, so surely having a baby in there hurt lots.  But now definitely wasn’t the time to ask that kind of question.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
However your Aunty Leah just chuckled and nodded at you.  “It doesn’t exactly hurt, but it is rather uncomfortable at times, especially if the baby moves into an awkward position or kicks a weird spot.”
“The baby kicks you?” you asked.
“Oh yeah!  They’re gonna be a striker just like your Aunty Less, I’m sure of it!”
Aunty Lessi nudged you and pointed at your hand.  “You might actually be able to feel the baby move some time, Bunny”
“Really? Could I?”
Your Aunty Leah’s smile was a big and bright as you’d ever seen it.  “They’re moving around now.  Do you want to try and feel?”
You nodded excitedly.  You had always wanted a baby brother or sister.  Your Mummy and Daddy had told you once that there was one on the way, but then a while later when they’d gone to the hospital, they came home really sad and said that baby brother was born sleeping.
You had only just turned 4 when that happened, and you didn’t understand why they didn’t just wake him up.  But Daddy explained that that is what people sometimes say when the baby isn’t born alive.
Mummy had been sad for what seemed like years after that.  She spent a lot of time in bed, and she cried more than you’d ever seen her cry before in your life.  You’d tried to cheer her up by drawing her pictures and singing her songs and giving her your biggest, bestest cuddles.  But Daddy said the only thing that would make Mummy better was time.
He was right.  She had slowly returned to her normal self.  You were very grateful, because you had missed the little things like the silly songs she would sing when she would wash your hair, and the smiley faces she would make out of blueberries in your pancakes.
As your Aunty Leah gently cradled your hand and brought it up to her swollen tummy, you felt a small whooshing movement under your little hand.
“Did you feel that?”
You nodded quickly, your gaze meeting your Aunty Leah’s as she smiled tenderly at you.  You couldn’t believe you could feel the baby moving in her tummy.  It all started to feel very real.
“They’re moving around quite a bit tonight.  I think they’re quite excited to have you here with us, Bun.”
“Do you know if it’s a boy or girl?” you asked.
“No, we decided to wait until the baby is born to find out and let it be a surprise.  We really don’t mind what their gender is, we’re just excited for them to be here and to meet them.  Oh, there they go again, did you feel that kick?”
You nodded again, pulling your hand away from your Aunty Leah’s tummy as a sinking feeling began settling in your own.
You knew you weren’t a part of your Aunties plan.  They were having a baby, and becoming Mums, which you were sure was something new and super exciting for them.  But now they also had you to look after as well, which they weren’t expecting and had probably changed so many things for them.  Surely, surely they would be much happier without you here ruining their perfect new little family?

Manicure
Alessia Russo x fem!reader
summary: you love your girlfriends hands just how they are, so what happens when she surprises you with new acrylics
a/n: she’s so bf in this photo and sorry for not doing a request, this idea popped into my head
Tumblr media
“Love, I’m home!” Your girlfriend’s voice echoes its way through the house from downstairs, waiting for your regular greeting which usually includes you jumping into her arms or pecking her lips.
Alessia had her monthly manicure appointment earlier today along with a couple of other errands to run. You had to stay home due to all the homework you have to grade by the end of the week for your grade 4 class.
Hearing the voice of the girl’s arrival, you slam your computer shut, place the papers on the bed, and run down the steps, surprising the blonde with your speed when you’re one second down the hall and the next jumping into her arms while wrapping her legs around her waist. She hoists you up with her hands on the underpart of your thighs and laughs at your eagerness.
“I missed you.” You mumble into her neck, placing a lazy kiss on her warm skin.
“I missed you too, darling.”
She gently places you back on the ground and grips onto your hips, pulling you into a long-awaited kiss. It’s only been a couple of hours, but that is long enough for the two of you. While leaning further into the kiss, you notice the feeling of things poking at your sides, making you place your hands on her biceps and pull away with a puzzled look.
“What?” She asks impatiently, clearly wanting to get back to the kiss, leaning back in but you stop her with your finger pushing against her lips.
“What is poking me?”
“Oh! Ya like ‘em? Thought I’d try something new.” She holds up her new acrylic light blue nails, wiggling her fingers while showing you. She usually keeps her nails short, but with her obviously doing something new, she changed it up a little. They’re long. Not very long, but longer than you would like.
You grab her hand and pull it closer to your face to examine the new nails. The blonde keeps an eye on your very concentrated face, your teeth biting your lip as you twist and turn her hand.
“You like 'em?” She repeats herself.
“Uh, y-yeah they’re beautiful, Less.” She takes in your slightly red cheeks and opens her mouth to say something, but you clear your throat before she has the chance. “I better get back to grading for a little bit, love you.”
You peck her cheek and rush back to your bedroom while Alessia stands in the same spot, wondering what the hell just happened.
She’s been honest for a few hours and you’ve been acting, well, different. When she finds her regular spot on her side of the bed, she leans over and starts peppering kisses down the side of your neck as her hand rubs up and down your leg. At first, you ease into it, but soon you quickly pull away and stand up, mumbling something about having to use the bathroom.
Whenever she tries to be even slightly affectionate with you, you pull away from her touch, leaving her confused about what she did wrong. So when you agree to have a movie marathon in the living room, she takes the opportunity to ask you what’s going on, wanting to fix it right away.
In the middle of the movie, she tries one more time, setting her hand on your thigh, but you shift your leg to the side making her hand fall on the cushions of the couch.
“Okay, that’s it! What is going on with you?” You jump slightly at the girl’s outburst and lower your head, feeling a little flustered. “Did I do something to upset you?” The older girl asks with a sad tone, causing your head to snap back up and shake it quickly.
You feel bad for constantly avoiding the girl’s touch all day, most likely upsetting her, but you don’t have any other choice. It’s an embarrassing reason as to why you’re doing it, so you try and keep it as subtle as possible which clearly didn’t work out as planned.
The blonde reaches out and grabs your hand cautiously, allowing you to pull back if you want which luckily you don’t. “Love, please just talk to me. Tell me what’s bothering you.”
“It’s so humiliating.” You groan, covering your face in an attempt to hide from your girlfriend. She gently grabs your wrists and pulls them away from your head while looking at you with a bit of a concerned expression.
“You’re worrying me here, darling.”
You take a deep breath before beginning to explain, “When I saw you got your nails done, I didn’t know how to react. They’re absolutely amazing, Less, don’t get me wrong, but there’s something I’m not exactly used to.”
“Go on.” She nods her head in encouragement.
“I’ve been pulling away from your touches because lately, I’ve been more aroused than usual, and with your new nails it’s very difficult for you to…y’know.” You trail off all flustered from your admission.
Little do you know Alessia loves your confession. Her ego going up from learning that even the slightest touch from her makes you want to jump her bones immediately, but you have to control yourself from doing so. She was wondering why you reacted the way you did when she came home and now she has her answer.
When you look up you see a grin plastered on her face, making you flush in embarrassment before her hand grabs your face and tugs you into a sloppy kiss. Her tongue slides its way into your mouth and swirls around, causing you to let out a little whine which makes the taller girl smirk into the kiss. Once you part from each other, her thumb grazes against your swollen lips as she takes in your hazed state.
“How about tomorrow morning I’ll go back to the salon and ask them to cut them shorter. I didn’t exactly think about what we’d be missing out because of these.” She wiggles her nails once again like she did this morning with a goofy smile spread across her face, making you do the same.
You pull her in for another kiss, this one being shorter and sweeter before pulling back to look at her with nothing but love in your eyes. “I love you, Lessi.”
“I love you, darling. Since we have to wait for tomorrow for my nails, there are plenty of other things I can use on you. Let’s get your cheeky self taken care of, yeah?” She gathers you up in her arms and stands up, carrying you bridal style which makes you squeak, and wrap your arms around her shoulders, holding on for dear life.
She may have not used her fingers, but she sure as hell used everything else and left you unbelievably satisfied. Maybe the nails aren’t a bother.
