The Fake Dating Job
Eliot Spencer (Leverage) x Reader
Description: Your sister's wedding is coming up and you already told her you had a date. The only problem is you don't. With none of the rest of your team available, your only option is to bring Eliot Spencer, who you just happen to be madly in love with.
Word Count: 1.2k

It is a bitter cold day out and you can still feel the chill down your spine as you enter the bar. You’re just happy to be in from the cold when Nate waves you over to the bar where he’s sat.
Nate hands you an envelope. “You get your mail delivered here?”
You shrug, “Well, I’m not in the habit of giving out my own address – especially not to my family.” Nate raises an eyebrow at your addition, clearly looking for you to elaborate. “It’s my sister’s wedding invitation. I’m a bridesmaid, but I honestly don’t even want to go.”
“Then why’d you accept?”
“Well at the time, I didn’t know one of the other bridesmaids would be bringing my ex, who was a total dick.”
“Ah.” He nods his head.
“Yeah and when my sister asked if it would be ok, I may or may not have told her ‘yes because I have my own date to bring, which I don’t.” You let out a sigh, “Any shot I could talk you into being my pretend boyfriend?”
“If you’re trying to make your family think you’re doing fine, I don’t think bringing someone your father’s age will do the job.”
“Fair point, but I don’t exactly have an expansive social group to ask.” You let your head fall into your hands, “I’ll figure it out. Thanks for listening to me complain.”
“Anytime y/n.” He returns to nursing his drink as you head up to the loft to see if maybe you could talk one of the others into accompanying you.
Upstairs you find Hardison and Parker sitting together. They were very clearly bickering before you entered the room and it has devolved into childish mocking and light shoving. Hardison is holding his keys out of Parker’s reach. You can’t help but chuckle at the scene before you.
“Hey, y/n, can you tell Hardison I’m a perfectly fine driver?”
“Y/n, would you tell Parker that “perfectly fine drivers” don’t give their team whiplash every time they’re behind the wheel?” Hardison looks at you pleadingly.
Putting your hands up, you reply, “I’m not getting in the middle of this one, but I actually came up here for a reason”
Despite their previous focus on their argument, all disagreement seemed to be dropped now that there was a new person and a point of conversation. Hardison put the keys in his pocket and both turned their attention to you.
“So my sister’s wedding is coming up and I told her I had a date, but the problem is I really don’t.”
“Then why would you say you did?” Parker chimed in.
“Well I found out one of the bridesmaids is bringing my shitty ex boyfriend and I didn’t want them to think I was still into him – which I’m not, he’s the worst. I don’t know, I guess I want my family to think I’m doing well and my ex to know I’m better off without him.”
“But now they’re going to know the truth.” Parker nodded along.
“Well, not exactly. I came up here to ask if maybe you would be my fake girlfriend for the wedding.”
Before Parker had a moment to respond Hardison incredulously replied, “Wait, you’re asking her first? You think your family is going to like Parker more than they’d like me? I thought your mom loved me?”
Hardison had been with you when you ran into your mom in the city several months back and she had invited you both out to lunch.
“She did, but that’s kind of the problem, you’re the only one here who has met my mom, and we’d have to do a lot more work to convince them. And all I told them about my “new partner” is that we met at a coffee shop.”
“So that pulls me out of the race.”
“Exactly, so Parker will you be my fake girlfriend?” You hold out the invitation to her.
“Sure,” she starts reading through the invitation, “Wait, it's in two weeks?”
“Yeah I know it’s short notice but I kinda put off giving her an address for the invite and –”
Parker cuts you off, “It’s not that. It’s just that Hardison and I will be going to a convention out of town that weekend for one of his video games. I won’t be able to make it.”
“Fuck” you let out a groan.
“Why don’t you ask Eliot?” Parker suggests. This was something you were hoping to avoid. You’ve been head over heels for Eliot for probably a year. Maybe it would be better to go alone and just tell your family a different lie about a fake breakup from your fake partner.
Hardison has known all about your crush for months and the moment you look at him a knowing grin crosses his face, “Yeah, why don’t you ask Eliot?”
“You know damn well why that’s a bad idea.”
Parker glances confused between the two of you. “Well who are you bringing then? Nate?”
“He said no.”
“So you asked Nate before you asked me?” Hardison replies in mock offense. You roll your eyes at his theatrics.
“What about Sophie?” Parker adds.
“The goal is for my family not to focus too much on me and my date, and I’m pretty sure she would have the exact opposite agenda.”
Parker smiles a little at your remark. “That’s a fair point.”
“Then I think you’re gonna have to ask Eliot.” Hardison replies just a little too smug.
Just then you hear the door close behind you. “Ask Eliot what?”
Of course he walked in just in time to hear his own name. “It’s nothing.” You glare at Hardison as both he and Parker get up and leave the room to avoid this awkward conversation.
“Aw come on sweetheart. Don’t be like that.” He plops down into the chair next to you and gestures to the door that the other two just walked through “You know they’ll tell me if you don’t.”
You think about it for a moment as he stares at you with a lopsided grin. “Fine,” you sigh, “I need a date for my sister’s wedding in two weeks because my shitty ex will be there. You don’t have to go though, I’m sure I’ll figure som–”
Eliot cuts you off. “Yes.”
“Yes?”
“Yes, I’ll be your date to your sister’s wedding”
“You really don’t have to Eliot. My family can be a lot and you would have to pretend to be my boyfriend all night and for the rehearsal dinner. I can’t ask that of you.”
“I don’t mind.” He adds with a smile.
You. Are. So. Fucked.
Just this conversation already had you nervous and your heart racing. You aren’t prepared to spend a whole weekend with Eliot. Not to mention the whole pretending to date part of it all, while also trying not to give away your feelings to Eliot. This man and his stupid fucking smile will be the death of you.

Ch 20 - The Reunion Job
Series Rewrite Masterlist
Pairing: Eliot Spencer x Ford!Reader
Description: The team goes back in time, to high school with all the insecurities of a nerd turned overly rich and successful bully.
Words: 5.7k
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was only a couple of days later when after Hardison met the client with Nate, he burst through my door complaining about Eliot being a lurker and Nate playing mind games with him which he very much did not appreciate. At least that’s what I could decipher from his frustrated ramblings. I’ll admit, I was only half listening to him as I was just reaching the most exciting part of the book I was reading.
“How do you deal with him?” Hardison finally asked.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
“Well, I mean, he’s your uncle, he raised you. You’ve gotta have dealt with his mind games and little psychological tricks all the time, so…”
I sighed, realizing that he actually wanted an answer and not just a rant session. Meaning, I wasn’t going to be able to finish the chapter. I closed the book and turned to stare at Hardison. I contemplated whether I wanted to actually answer his question in a fulfilling and helpful way for my friend or find out what happened in the current story arc.
I think the answer is obvious. Now how to go about completing the goal.
“Well, Hardison, you are a very smart young man,” I began.
It was obvious that he was not expecting the compliment and blinked, “Well, I– I’m not sure how that–”
“It is very relevant,” I cut him off, bringing the attention to me again. “The thing with dealing with manipulation tactics is that you first have to understand them.” I stood up from my couch, making a better connection with him by having more direct eye contact. “You see, Nate does use mind games, but it isn’t an always, every time thing so in order to identify when he is trying to manipulate you, well, let's say there is a learning curve.”
“And I am at the very bottom of the curve,” Hardison whined a bit. “I have never been at the bottom of a curve!”
I thought I had him hooked, so said a quick, ‘follow me’ and tried to walk towards my door, and to my satisfaction, he started to follow without a second thought. “That’s okay, I’m sure you will catch on. The thing about manipulation is that it is most often about subverting attention, whether that be to the manipulator, yourself, or somewhere else with a hyper focus that it is hard to redirect back to where you want if you aren’t looking out for it.”
He followed and listened intently, making a few interested comments.
I walked him across the hall and entered Nate’s apartment, “It takes practice and a lot of self awareness both to spot it and to try to do it to someone. There’s also tricks that can help, in a way it is similar to grifting and hacking, just combining the two.” I finally led him to where his computer was, “But, I won’t keep you any longer. I think it is better if you did some research on some psychology and the job for the client, right?” I nodded as I asked him that and he instinctively nodded back at me, agreeing as he sat down and placed his hands on his computer.
“Okay, thanks y/n.”
I hummed in agreement and casually, but quickly, walked back across the hall to get back to my book. Hopefully Hardison didn’t think too much about what just happened when he was doing his research.
Not too much later Nate came in to bring me along for the recon of an Iranian intelligence secret police hideout.
“You’re lucky I just finished a really good part of this book and need to decompress a bit,” I said as I slipped a bookmark in and stood from my couch for the second time.
“Mmm hmm, I think you’re the lucky one because you wouldn’t be able to pull the same thing on me that you did on Hardison,” he said, very self satisfied.
I stopped in my tracks, “how do you know about that?”
“I was upstairs and heard you.”
“You’re not gonna tell him, are you?”
“Only if you hurry up, we’ve gotta go. Come on, birdy,” he insisted, ushering me along and out the door.
“Okay! Okay, I’m going!”
Eliot and Hardison went into the restaurant as health inspectors. Sophie was already there as a customer with a bug in her food to give the boys an in to do an inspection. When Eliot wouldn’t help her get the roach away from her after her outburst, she told him that he would pay for it. I’m sure that will be interesting.
Parker was breaking in one of the back rooms where we were sure all of their sensitive information was. Nate and I stayed in the truck monitoring. Once Parker plugged into their computer, Hardison cloned it so we could all see the screen and Hardison could search the files. Meanwhile, Eliot was doing the food inspection as a bit of a distraction, and if I didn’t know any better, I would have thought he was enjoying himself, just a little bit.
“There’s nothing on Manticore, starting a syntax search” Hardison said as he remotely connected to the computer.
“What about the Manticore?” I asked, vaguely gesturing to the graphic on the bottom corner of the screen depicting the creature.
“The image on the bottom left there,” Nate said, since Hardison couldn’t see where I was gesturing. “Manticore is a mythological creature, Persian for ‘man-eater.’”
“Yeah, I was just about to click on that,” Hardison said unconfidently.
“Oh yeah, right, sure,” I replied, making sure he knew of my skepticism.
Hardison clicked on the graphic and a bunch of files opened on the screen.
“Okay, let’s uh, copy Cyrus’s program,” Nate said.
“I’d love to, but it’s not here,” Hardison said. “Doesn’t even look like they’ve heard of Cyrus.”
I looked at Nate, “That’s odd. Then who stole the program?”
“I’ve got payment records here,” Parker said. “The last one dated three weeks ago.”
After some searching, Hardison said, “The last Manticore update was also three weeks ago.”
“And who was that payment to?” Nate asked.
Hardison answered with a low whistle.
“Larry Duberman,” Hardison began once we got back for the brief on our new mark. “Founder and Ceo of Dubertech. Back in the 90s he wrote the book on digital database security. Literally wrote the book.”
Eliot stepped between Sophie and I with an intricate looking tea set and started pouring the both of us tea as Hardison explained how much revenue Duberman pulled in. I tried to make eye contact with either Eliot or Sophie to question what was going on, but Eliot was focused on pouring the tea, and Sophie wasn’t paying any attention to him at all.
“Why would Larry Duberman be selling software to Iran? He doesn’t need the money,” Sophie said and quietly thanked Eliot for the tea with a soft touch to his shoulder.
I repeated the sentiment to him, without the touch, and took a sip, noticing it was my favorite tea. I smiled a bit to myself, not quite listening to what Hardison was saying. I did catch that Duberman had a lot of competition in the tech industry which required him to expand his market share to make money.
“So, he sells the technology to embargoed countries and the income is tax free?” Nate asked.
“That’s a nice way to keep the bottom line from being squeezed,” Sophie commented.
“Now Duberman has a long term contract around Manticore for Iran, this man has become the IT department for the axis of evil,” Hardison said definitely.
“Alright, so Eliot was right,” Nate said. “The Veserate didn’t go after Cyrus, Duberman did.”
“It’s not about politics man,” Eliot said while squeezing a lemon into Sophie’s tea. “It’s bad business for him.”
“Okay, so Duberman’s our target,” Nate said, “what are we up against?”
Hardison explained how if we could shut off a certain one of Duberman’s servers then we could shut off Manticore.
“So, get to hackin’ man,” Eliot said.
“Dude, what is it about ‘wrote the book on database security’ that you don’t comprehend?” Hardison mocked. “I can’t just access Manticore remotely, we got to get to that server, in person.”
“Have any of you ever trimmed a Bonsai?” Nate asked.
I looked at him quizzically before following his eyes to see where he was looking at an article saying that Duberman recently installed a Japanese garden.
“I mean, I took a class in college,” I said, once I thought I had an idea of where he was going with the question.
“Really?” Eliot said in an excited and almost conspiratorial whisper, “cuz I actually–”
“Maybe some other time, Eliot,” Nate cut him off, clicking on the screen to enlarge the article he was reading.
“Okay,” he said, a little dejected, also seeming to realize why Nate asked, more hypothetically.
I was about to give an encouraging remark to Eliot when my attention got pulled to the other side of the table.
“Why is Eliot pouring your tea?” Parker asked. “Hmm? You brainwash him again?”
Again? When was the first time?
Sophie hummed in a negative tone. “Neuro-linguistic programming,” she corrected. “It’s amazing what you can do with the power of suggestion. ‘Sugar, squeezed,’” She said, only slightly directed at Eliot and patted his shoulder again. “And a few strategic pats on the arm.”
Eliot seemed to register what Sophie said and paused where he was about to pour her some more tea, “Damn it!”
“You owe me for that roach business!”
“Damn it!” Eliot repeated, “Sophie, not again.” He then took the cup of tea he was pouring for Sophie and marched off.
Hardison was laughing at the front of the room, and it only took me a moment to give a laugh as well. It seems to be the job for mind games.
I took a sip of my tea, which Eliot left in front of me, and leaned toward Sophie, “Thanks for including me in the tea, this is my favorite.”
“Oh, I didn’t tell him to do either of those things, but I’m glad you enjoyed it, dear,” she replied casually.
That made me pause, because it didn’t seem like something Eliot would do on his own, but I took Sophie’s word for it and just assumed that maybe her programming accidentally implied something about me getting tea too. The tea being my favorite must have been a coincidence.
Regardless, I was going to enjoy the drink in front of me.
I had volunteered to go into Dubertech as a custodian/gardener to help in the break in, but Eliot ended up doing it. I assume because he also got some nostalgia from the bonsai as well as this part of the mini con involved literally running into Duberman and accidentally roughing him up a little.
Eliot would shove a bonsai into his hands, spilling it everywhere. Hardison and Parker would immediately come in to clean it up, swiping his keycard and his fingerprint off the bonsai pot. Hardison and Parker then proceeded to break into Duberman’s office to gain access to the Manticore server.
Sophie, Nate, and I were at his apartment watching through the camera Hardison had with him. When they walked into the supposed server room, they paused.
“Whoa,” Parker said.
“It seems like we stepped out of Japan and straight into high school,” Hardison said.
“In 1985,” Parker clarified.
As Hardison panned the camera around the room, we could see that they were right. There was so much high school memorabilia and 80s tech on the shelves and in trophy cases. The lighting even seemed to be retro.
“Did you find the server running Manticore?” Nate asked, trying to get them back on track.
“Oh, I found it,” Hardison said. “Small problem: Nate, he’s running Manticore from his high school computer.”
The computer in question came into view and I was amazed that a program as advanced and complicated to spy on Iranians could even be run on the machine. Parker picked up and waved a floppy disk with a Manticore sticker on it.
“Question: can we just smash the computer? Would that work?” I asked.
“No,” Hardison replied, but didn’t explain as he plugged in to the computer and began to try and hack it.
“Fair enough, just thought I’d double check.”
“Vintage 1980s technology, man,” Hardison said, mostly to himself, “no wonder I couldn’t hack it from the outside. It’s speaking a dead language.”
“This is bringing a whole new meaning to ‘tech people don’t trust modern tech,’” I commented.
We watched as Hardison ran passwords through the computer, trying to gain access. After a few moments, an announcement came through talking about a possible breach.
“Hey, they’re onto us!” Parker said. “What’s the deal?”
“He’s got a multi-tiered password system,” Hardison explained. “Now, I’ve already broken into the first few: uh, Zavransky, MandyDD, a bunch of other random ones.” Hardison’s computer then made an unusual sound.
“Is that a good beep or a bad beep?” Parker asked.
“Ohh, that’s a bad beep. We just hit a wall.”
“You didn’t get the password?” Nate asked.
“Not the master one,” Hardison said, “the last one I got is: L33R15L06.”
Sophie and Nate looked at each other and said ‘high school’ at the same time in a dejected voice.
“That password is what tipped you off?” I asked sarcastically, mostly to cover up how I wasn’t sure how that password connected to the theme, but with all of the high school themed stuff in the room, it made sense.
“Come on, let’s go,” Parker said anxiously.
“Hold on, let me just copy this disk,” Hardison replied. “How did anyone get anything done in the 80s?”
They were able to make their escape once the download finished and made their way back to the pub. We all met down there to discuss what to do from there.
“Nobody else thinks it’s weird that you can just buy anybody’s yearbook online?” Eliot said when Hardison pulled out Duberman’s yearbook to consult.
“You know, it’s real cute man how you still believe in privacy,” Hardison replied.
“I’m just amazed he could get his hands on it so quickly,” I commented.
“Here we go,” Nate said as he flipped through it. “Zavransy: math teacher. Now I bet if we turn to the cheerleaders… Yes. Oh, Mandy.”
Eliot gave a low whistle. I glanced at the picture and, well, the double Ds in the password did make some sense.
“What does the ‘DD’ mean?” Parker asked.
The boys gave some innuendoes towards Mandy’s chest which I rolled my eyes at. I just told Parker that she didn’t need to worry about it.
“It was the last password that tipped us off,” Nate continued, “L33R15L06, now that has to be a locker combination, right?”
I nodded my head, agreeing, trying to disguise that I was just coming to the realization of what that was now. I guess I never remembered any of my locker combinations that way. Or remembered any at all.
“So clearly, he’s obsessed with high school,” Nate concluded. “Memorabilia, his high school computer.”
“Yeah, he’s a classic computer nerd,” Sophie said. She glanced at Hardison and apologized. “The girls totally ignored him, the guys picked on him, now that he’s a success, he can’t leave the past behind him.”
“Yeah, he has to remember who he was because it made him who he is,” Nate said.
“I feel bad for the nerd,” Parker said with an almost sympathetic deadpan.
“Don’t feel bad for this guy,” Eliot replied. “Getting bullied in high school is no excuse for propping up dictators. Take Hardison, he got bullied his whole high school career, he’s not a criminal.”
We all looked at him incredulously. Sophie and Parker verbally disagreed.
“Not a bad criminal,” Eliot amended.
“What makes you think I got bullied in high school?” Hardison asked.
“A: you’ve got a green hornet doll.”
“First: it’s a limited edition action figure. Second: it is Green Lantern. Educate yourself.”
“Guys, listen, listen,” Nate interrupted, “we’ve got a locker combination, we have a teacher’s name, and we have a crush. So Duberman has made his old high school, his roman room.”
After a moment, Parker confidently said, “Of course.”
“Of course?” Nate asked her, “what’s a roman room?”
She crumbled and admitted she didn’t know.
“It’s a memory technique,” he explained. “Each of his passwords corresponds with an object in a space he is intimately familiar with. In his case: the hallway of his old high school where he kept his locker. Now if I were to make this bar my roman room, everything I need to remember is in this room. For instance:” Nate stood and clasped me on the shoulder, “my, uh, email password would be Birdy here.” He then approached the bar and picked up a bottle of liquor, “and my bank password would be Balmore,” he said with a shrug. He then poured himself a drink from the very same bottle.
“Hey,” Parker leaned across the table to Hardison, “Nate just gave us his passwords, huh?”
“No,” Hardison said, “but I already got all his passwords. Want to see his Netflix queue?” He continued with Parker’s nod, “He’s got, like, every season of ‘Rockford Files,’ every season of ‘Sex in the City,’ that show ‘Psych.’”
“Oh, that’s a good one,” I said.
“Hey,” Nate came back and leaned over Hardison’s shoulder, “Listen, if we can’t get into the main server without Duberman’s master password, you can’t hack into that, right?”
“No, the password's up in the guy’s head. Can’t hack a guy’s head.”
“So the only option is to break inside his roman room.”
“You wanna break into his high school?” Parker asked. “Pft, I could do that blindfolded. Yeah, let’s do it blindfolded.”
“No, no, no, what we’re gonna do, is we’re gonna break into that high school, twenty five years ago.”
“Hmm, what do ya know,” Hardison said, looking at his phone, “Class of ‘85 has a reunion coming up. In eight months.”
We shared a passing look between each other with a smile. I think we could make that work.
Sophie made some calls as different reunion committee members and was able to get the reunion moved up to this month. She then called Duberman to personally invite him to the party, naming some classmates that should incentivise him to come. And lo and behold, he said he ‘wouldn’t miss it for the world.’
Hardison went in and edited a picture of Sophie and put it in the yearbook under the name of Grace Pelts. Nate was going to pose as a student named Drake McIntyre and play the rival, or villain in Duberman’s story. When he came out in his chosen outfit, he for sure looked like the peaked in high school jerk that he was going for.
Parker posed as one of the caterers and placed cameras around the school so Hardison could keep an eye on everything and help Nate and Sophie out when needed.
“Oof, so many awkward people in so many ugly outfits,” Parker said as she took a look at the bulletin board with the ‘nostalgic’ photos.
“You’re lucky you never went to high school,” Hardison said. “Nothin’ but heartbreak and homework.”
I sighed with a nod of my head, though he couldn’t see me, it was true.
“Didn’t you go to your Prom?” she asked.
“Uh… I was kinda busy,” he replied in a way that told me he was doing something that he wasn’t supposed to. Probably highly impressive and highly illegal.
“So you guys get to go to the reunion, and I’m stuck on goon patrol?” Eliot griped beside me as he pulled on his gloves.
“What am I? Chopped liver?” I asked, unamused.
“No, you’re at least a nice Pâté,” he replied with a slight apologetic look.
I squinted at him, not understanding what he was implying, “I’m gonna try and take that as a compliment, but you’re on thin ice right now.”
“Eliot, listen, once we get the password, you and y/n have to enter it on Duberman’s computer and destroy Manticore,” Nate explained. “Hardison is a little occupied.”
“Besides, I’m sure you already had your high school fun,” Hardison goaded. “Big man on campus. What? Quarterback?”
I watched as a slight smirk of reminiscence appeared on his face and he pulled his hood up, “I had many interests.”
He then waited until a lone employee walked out of the Dubertech building and knocked him out with one punch. I quickly rummaged through his pockets until I found his key card. Eliot then dragged him off to the side in the bushes where we were standing and I tossed his briefcase into the bushes after him. The two of us then entered the building and made our way to the so-called server.
Meanwhile, Sophie was making first contact with Duberman, stroking his ego a bit to get him loosened up. She also helped make the introduction to Duberman of Nate being Drake McIntire.
Apparently Drake was pretty popular in high school as it sounded like he was swarmed by people greeting him. Nate made sure to point out Duberman from across the room and address him as “doucherman!”
That seemed to sell it for Duberman.
“How’d you know that was his nickname?” Sophie whispered when she was able to take a step away from Duberman.
“With a name like Duberman, it’s not exactly rocket science,” Nate replied as he greeted more people, asking Hardison to help him keep his cover.
“Doucherman’s pretty good,” I commented. “If you wanted to just mispronounce his name you could go with Doberman but that might be too cool for him. I probably would have gone for gooberman or nooberman.”
There was a moment of silence.
“Say, y/n, who were you in high school?” Hardison asked over comms.
I scoffed, “Please, I didn’t conform to high school stereotypes.”
“Emo,” a couple voices said, including Eliot who was walking alongside me.
I looked at him and sputtered a bit, trying to deny it.
“Don’t even try it, y/n,” Hardison teased, “I can always look up your yearbook pictures.”
“Don’t you dare,” I said in the most threatening voice I could muster.
“Mmhmm,” Hardison replied in a tone that told me he wasn’t convinced but then continued to help Nate by feeding him facts about his supposed classmates.
Sophie was able to pull Duberman into the hallway and started reminiscing, trying to get any passwords she could out of him.
“This hall is burned in my mind,” Doberman said as they walked.
“Say, wasn’t that Mrs. Zavransy’s room?” Sophie asked.
“Had her for homeroom. Yeah, Pat Brander once gave me a wedgie in front of the whole class,” He replied.
“Pat Brander,” Sophie emphasized as if she was remembering too.
“Check out Brander,” Eliot told me as I sat at the computer.
I typed in the last name which didn’t work and then first, and then first and last, but none worked, “Name isn’t working.”
“Try Brander303, that was the room number,” Hardison said.
I typed it in, “Uh, looks like we got payroll.”
“Alright guys, patience,” Nate told us. “If we get him riled up, he’ll lead us to the password we want.”
Nate entered the hallway in a drunken manner and started teasing Duberman in a way that was very reminiscent of teenagers.
“We’re not eighteen anymore!” Duberman whined, trying to get him to stop.
“I’m just reliving the good old times, ya know,” Nate replied.
“Good times? You think they were good times for me? Like when you told Amy Tuttleton, the prettiest girl in school, that I had both male and female genitalia?”
Nate laughed, “I forgot about that! Yeah, that was classic.”
I typed in every variation I could think of for a password with Amy Tuttleton, with no hits.
“Hermaphrodite?” Eliot asked over my shoulder.
“I’m not trying that,” I said.
After a few more passing comments between Nate, Sophie, and Duberman, Duberman finally said, “You just don’t get it, do you? I won.”
“Oh come on now, you’re not still steamed about things that happened twenty-five years ago. Come on! Listen, it wasn’t all bad, does your brain only remember the painful bits?”
“Just the important stuff,” he tried to defend. “Like what happened in the library.”
“Oh yeah, go on,” Sophie encouraged.
“No, you remember, yeah, I was sitting there–”
He was cut off by a newcomer entering the hallway and their little group. It sounded like a flirty woman, who Nate, trying to stay in character, drew her attention to himself. Nate said her name was Nikki and she implied she was a cheerleader. Hardison got to work trying to give Nate information about her, but there were multiple cheerleaders who could have had the nickname Nikki. She then dragged Nate away from Duberman and Sophie to make out.
“Nate, I hope you know, this is so gross,” I said, trying to block it out. “Hardison, can you mute him for me for a second so I can listen to Sophie?”
He did as I asked and tuned me to Sophie and Duberman’s conversation.
I kept trying passwords that Sophie was giving me, and while a few of them opened different capabilities, none were the master password we were looking for. Eliot paced around the room looking at memorabilia and giving me updates on the others.
“Ha, Nikki locked Nate in a closet after he turned her down.”
I laughed as I tried another password, “serves him right, he probably broke that poor girl’s heart. And he broke my eardrums.”
“Yeah, Parker said the same thing along with high school being dramatic. She’s gonna go break him out.”
I scoffed, “she can say that again. High school was so over dramatic.”
“Says the emo.”
I glared at him and he changed the subject, looking back at the glass case in front of him, “They give out trophies for chess?”
“Chess is at least a strategy game. It’s better than a spelling bee trophy,” I countered.
He didn’t have the chance to reply as grinding noises and sparks started to shoot through the door.
“It’s the Veserate, they’re comin’ in!” Eliot told me and the rest of the crew.
Hardison unmuted Nate for me as he asked what the Iranians were doing here.
“How are we supposed to know?” I told him.
As I typed in another password, Nikki crashed Duberman’s and Sophie’s conversation again. She said she just wanted Drake out of the way so she could have Duberman all to herself, she spilled her drink on Sophie in the process, insisting she clean up. Well, there goes our audience with him and our opportunity to get the password. At least for now.
“What happened? He get away?” Nate asked Sophie when they met up.
“She took him!” Sophie lamented, “That, that… That bloody little slut!”
I’ll admit, that was not what I expected to come out of her mouth.
“Calm down,” Nate mediated.
“Just because I’m not some cheerleader or something!”
Oh, there was some bad blood here. Some history for Sophie.
“Alright, let’s forget about it for now. Eliot and y/n have company and we’re no closer to getting the password, so I think we need to escalate.”
“You think he’s ready?” Sophie asked.
“Uh, guys,” Hardison interjected, “I’ve accounted for all the Nikkis in the class of ‘85, your Nikki’s not even in the yearbook.”
“Wait, so she’s a fraud, like us?” Parker asked.
“What, is she just some random hussy who’s out for his cash?” Sophie proposed.
“Not exactly,” Hardison answered. “She’s a hired gun.”
I shifted my focus from the melting door to Eliot, “Well, this just got more complicated.”
“An assassin?” Sophie asked. “Nikki’s an assassin?”
“Yeah, I guess we weren’t the only ones with the bright idea to pose as alumni,” Hardison said. “This chick’s connected to wetwork jobs all up and down the east coast. Russian mob, Italian mob, there’s a New Zealand mob?”
“This is our fault,” Nate said.
“I didn’t do anything,” Parker denied.
“We lured him to an unsecured environment,” Sophie said. “We exposed him.”
“Now we have to save him,” Nate said. “We can’t destroy Manticore with him dead. Split up and find him. Eliot what’s happening on your end?”
“T minus five seconds,” he replied. “This reunion sucks!”
“I agree!” I said, surveying the room, trying to find something I could defend myself with. I finally settled on using a chair if I had to.
We watched as a hole was finally punched through the door and a head appeared to assess the room. When he saw Eliot, he said, puzzled, “The health inspector?”
Eliot shrugged, “I’m gonna have to dock ya again.”
Two of them quickly entered the room, the first raising a gun to Eliot. He knocked it away and was able to knock one down at a time to fight off the other. The first was able to drive Eliot into one of the trophy cases, breaking the glass everywhere. I stepped up and stomped on the back of his knee, making him collapse. I then stepped back out of the way to play support, protect the computer, and input the password if necessary.
“Duberman must have pissed off the Iranians,” Hardison said, “They hire an assassin to take him out while they raid his office? Eliot, you’ve got to keep them away from that computer.”
“He’s working on it!” I yelled at him at the same time Eliot said, “What do you think I’m doing?”
Eliot grabbed the chess trophy and was able to knock out the second Iranian, and for a moment, they were both down, and it was quiet.
“Check mate,” Eliot said, but the first Iranian would just not stay down and stood up again, ready for another round. “Or not.”
Over comms, it sounded like Sophie was able to find Duberman and Nikki and fight her off.
“I always hated cheerleaders,” Sophie said. “It was always mean girls like you who ruined high school for the rest of us!” It sounded like they kept fighting for a bit before Sophie was able to get away.
Eliot kept playing whack-a-mole with the Iranians, as soon as one went down, the other popped back up. I tried to help where I could, taking any cheap shots that were available while Eliot kept them occupied. Luckily, anytime they turned to engage me, Eliot was freed up to take them down, or at least divert their attention to himself.
I heard Duberman’s voice come through the comms again along with Nate, so he must have found him again. I was too preoccupied with the Iranians in front of me to pay attention to what was going on with them, but nothing seemed to be going horribly wrong yet. At least, not more than it already was.
What I did hear was Nate saying, “And, it’s done.”
That was a signal that Duberman changed the password. Eliot was still engaged with the Iranians, so I took a risk to turn my back on them and type in the new password, testing if Sophie’s neuro-linguistic programming worked to put ‘Badger85’ in his head.
“I’m in, Hardison,” I said, hearing Eliot finally knock both of them out enough to stay down.
“Great, now deauthorize and delete all directories, like we talked about,” he replied.
I typed in the commands and watched as the program fizzled out. “It’s done.”
“Manticore’s dead,” Eliot added with a note of finality.
Hardison was able to send some files to the FBI with an anonymous tip that should land Duberman in detention for a long while.
“Well, I think it’s time we graduate,” Sophie said once the figurative dust settled for a moment.
Nate agreed, but they were stopped by a loud announcement that even Eliot and I could hear through the comms.
“Your votes are in for the king and queen of the reunion, and the lucky winner is: Grace Pelts and Drake McIntyre!”
I laughed. I could just imagine the shock on their faces.
“Uh, very funny Hardison. Y/n?” Nate said.
“Oh, you think I did this?” Hardison asked. “Nah, I don’t rig elections. I mean, I could, but…”
“How could I have pulled that off? I’ve been across town this whole time,” I pointed out.
“Parker, was this you?” Sophie asked.
“I didn’t even know they had kings and queens in high school,” she replied.
“Yeah, um. I guess it was a good con,” Nate said. Hardison, why don’t you set off the fire alarm right about now?”
“You two enjoy this, you earned it,” Hardison replied.
Music started and Hardison asked Parker for a dance.
“Everybody having a good time at the dance, anybody wondering if we’re okay? If we made it out alive?” Eliot grumpily asked the team.
“Do you want to dance? We can still hear the music,” I said, a blush coating my face at the question even though I asked it kind of sarcastically.
Eliot paused, like the thought hadn’t occurred to him. “Well, uh–”
“My vote is we get some good food,” I amended before he could say no.
“Oh, yeah. That, uh, that sounds great right now,” Eliot answered. “Much better than a dumb high school dance.”
I let out a huff of a laugh and pulled out my earbud, “uh huh.”
The employee that we stole the key card from stood up from the bushes and Eliot quickly knocked him out again with a punch.
“Was that necessary?” I asked him.
“Probably not, but it made me feel better,” he answered while he dug his own earbud out.
I nodded and jokingly linked my arm with his as we walked silently towards his truck for a few paces.
“What should we eat?” he asked me.
“I don’t know.” I thought about it for a moment and remembered what he said earlier in the night, “What’s Pâté? Is that good? Should I try that?”
“Maybe not tonight, let’s take a drive and see what we can find.”
“Sounds good to me.”
Recovery
I'm alive!!!!
Life has been busy and I've had this tucked in my drafts for awhile. I hope to get back into writing, both Eliot fics and some original stuff if anyone is interested.
But in the meantime, I give you this!! Not a full fic, but a blurb that takes place just after Blood Stains .
The doors to the trauma room swing open, causing the three of us to jump. I open my eyes and look at the doctor, as he walks towards us.
"You're here for Detective Baker?"
"Yeah that's us."
"We stopped the bleeding. The bullet entered his left side, it nicked an artery but you got to him in time. If you hadn't slowed the bleeding when you did he wouldn't have made it."
"He's gonna be ok?" Hardison asks.
"In time, yes. He also has cracked ribs, we treated them, between that and the gun shot wound, he should be on his feet in a month or two. He's being moved to recovery as we speak. We had to give him a mild sedative."
Parker huffs out a laugh.
"He's not gonna like that," She mumbles.
"Can we see him?" I ask the doctor.
He looks at me, he takes a breath but hesitates.
"Family only, I'm afraid."
"We are family."
He doctor watches me a moment more before he nods.
"Alright. But one at a time. He's still under sedation, but I'm sure he'd appreciate a familiar face when he wakes up."
"Thank you."
I look at Parker and Hardison, ready to ask if one of them would like to go first, but Hardison speaks before I can.
"Go. We need to grab a change of clothes and talk to Nate and Sophie. We will be back later.
I nod, the turn to the doctor. He gestures for me to follow him, he leads me down a hall and through a few corridors, coming to a stop in front of a door.
"He's in here. You can press the call button if you need anything."
I nod to him, then watch him walk to the nurses station at the end of the hall. I take a deep breath then open the door.
Seeing him laying is surreal. He lays so still I would have thought he was dead if it weren't for his chest moving and the heart monitor on the wall making a soft beep with his heartbeat.
I sit in a chair next to the bed, I hold his hand in mine. It's lost most of the warmth it usually holds. Normally he's the one who hold my hand when something happens, but now that it's him, it feels like a dream. Like I'll wake up and he will be yelling at Hardison for something.
But it's not a dream. He lays there, almost looking small, chest rising and falling steadily, his hair his spread out on the pillow, the usual crease between his eye brows is smoothed out. A peaceful look replacing the near constant scowl he wears.
I bring his hand to my face to press a kiss to the back of his hand, threading my fingers between his.
"Please wake up soon," I whisper.
I lay his arm back down with out letting go of him. I lay my head down next to his hand, letting my eyes close again, the quiet beep from the monitor lulling me to sleep.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
The sound of the door opening jerks me awake. I sit up and look at the door to find a nurse coming in. She looks at me and smiles, then walks to the monitor on the other side of the bed, she then checks the IV bags and tubing to Eliot's arm.
" Is he ok?" I ask her.
"At the moment, the sedative should were off soon. It's good your here. He's a lucky man to have you here for him."
I smile at her then turn to Eliot. I must have a look on my face because the nurse speaks again, a knowing tone in her voice.
"You're in love with him."
"What?" I snap to look at her.
"I can see it in the way you look at him. I've seen that look before in couples."
"We aren't a couple."
"Mmmm. Maybe you should fix that. You almost lost him today. It would be tragic if something happened again and he wasn't as lucky as he was this time."
I look at her. She right, but telling him now feels like the wrong time.
"It complicated. We are best friends and partners, if my feelings did something to jeopardize that, I don't think I could handle it."
She nods then heads to the door.
"Call me if you need anything, dear."
"I will."
I stand and pace the floor at the foot of the bed, worrying my lip and playing with the hem of my shirt. A quiet groan from the bed catches my attention.
Turning back to Eliot, finding a small frown drawing his eyebrows together. I walk back to the side of the bed, whispering his name as I take his hand in mine, pressing the back of it to my cheek.
He squeezes my hand, his grip not as strong as it usually is, it still causes a smile to spread across my face. His head rolls towards me, the crease between his brows to deepens, his eyes open just enough to show his pretty blue eyes off.
" Hi." I say to him, tears blurring my vision.
"Hi," he grumbles, then looks down to my chest. "That's my shirt."
I huff out a teary laugh.
"That's all you have to say after nearly dieing?"
"Nearly died before. Never seen you in my shirt before."
I shake my head at him, then move to hit the call button so the nurse can check on him now that he's awake, but he grips my hand tighter, stopping me. I look at him with a questioning look, but he just stares at me.
"What?"
"Was that true?"
"Who?"
"What the nurse said."
My heart drops.
"You heard that?"
"Yeah. Was just coming out of it."
I take a deep breath to calm my nerves.
"What does it matter if it was true?"
"It matters."
A silents settles over us. We sit there staring at each other as if we could read each other's minds.
He takes a breath to say something else when the door bursts open, Hardison and Parker falling in the door. I release his hand and move to stand at the end of the bed.
"Is he awake yet?" Hardison asks me.
"Yes, dumb ass, I'm awake, and you are too damn loud."
"Well good to know you're already back to normal."
Eliot huffs out a laugh, then holds his side, face scrunching in pain.
"I'm gonna get the nurse." I say as I walk out of the room. I hear Eliot say my name but I ignore it and continue to the nurses station.
I find the same nurse that checked on Eliot earlier and tell her that he's awake and seams to be in pain. She nods then heads to his room.
I don't follow her, I stand at the counter of the station trying to figure out what Eliot meant by his response. I decide to let it go. He's probably high on pain meds, and probably won't remember that conversation tomorrow, just act like every thing is normal.
Eliot Spencer and What I am Learning About Myself
A poem about my brother that isn't making it in my poetry book
I have little time on my hands, so much of what I consume has a purpose.
My food is treated like medicine (six brazil nuts a day...), media is an opportunity to learn what is happening, books and tv fill in the gaps of my knowledge from economics to how to cook for my elderly neighbors. You get the point.
My heart has dipped low, weighed down with the collected tears of the world in her pocket, looking for joy in a shadowy street.
I try not to give myself passes. After all, people giving themselves passes often leaves other lives at chance in my line of work. But reason and wisdom peak my interest. In the swoop a half-sided smile, I'm sent into the cold with a prescription for laughter.
With comedy quiet for the sleepy winter, somehow, I find myself transported back to a room of younger me with the click of a dvd in the player. It's not family movies- don't be so naive.
I have fragmented memories of these stories- they are seemingly more politically prolific today than I remembered. But what catches my attention is the man with the dedication and calmness. He reminds me of someone- he did back then too.
Living a 1,000 lives in the last fews years has set me on this hunt to dissect who I once was. I didn't remember until recently but the room younger me was sat in was one of expectation- waiting for the door to open and me to be swept up into open arms, circling around me with assurance that was safe.
Back then, I could tell myself he was off liberating Croatia. Now, my tears fill my heart as I know that his dying day came before my own.
ALEC HARDISON (leverage)
—
“Break” (Alec Hardison x Fem!Reader)
| You visit Alec to let off some stress and to get out of your own head.
| NSFW, 18+, minors dni, cockwarming, oral (male receiving), spacing out, sub space?
| Since Leverage: Redemption season two just came out and I watched Black Adam yesterday I’m gonna finally post this. Or not! It’s been, like, almost a full year since I wrote this.
| 1k+ words
Beg. NOTES: Listen, I don’t know how much of an audience reader insert fics with Hardison have (very little from what I’ve seen), and I don’t want to intrude by posting this, but hey! Without risks you’re not truly living, right? ALSO, I love Alec and Parker together and I love the OT3, okay? Don’t come for me.
You close your laptop only a little harshly, finally done with your work for the day. Now you could read or do something else to decompress and rest your eyes from the strain of your computer screen, but something is pushing you towards your boyfriend in specific.
You know he’s doing a virtual campaign right now so you haven’t seen him in a few hours, but he’s never rejected your presence as long as you weren’t disruptive, so? You shrug and walk off towards his room. No harm in testing it out. You feel the tiniest bit depraved of your Alec and you wanted to give your mind a break anyways.
He turns to you languidly, no startling and no obvious irritation on his face. You nod to yourself and softly click the door closed.
“Hey,” his voice is soft and he gives his usual bright utterly smitten smile that makes you want to die (in a good way). “Class go well?”
You smile just as sappily back at him and revel in the way it makes him soften even more.
“It was alright,” you incline your head as he chuckles. “I could use some of your company though. You know, if it’s not too much to ask?”
His eyes widen briefly before he starts hurriedly moving things around.
“Yea- yeah, girl. Come right ahead, you know I always got time for you,” he takes a second to unmute to declare he’s present since he was apparently on hold because of complications on somebody’s end. He beckons you over right afterwards. “You have something to do?”
You shrug, dropping down on all fours.
“I have four hours to waste, which means I have four hours to relax. If you wanna fuck around some?”
“Oh,” he breathes. He knows exactly how you like to fuck around when you’re stressed.
Alec looks at you wide eyed for the entire time it takes you to cross the room to his desk. Snapping out of it only when you’re kneeling in front of him and running your hands up his thighs.
He makes a choked noise, hand snapping up to cover his mike and pull it away from his mouth even with it being off.
“Jesus, baby, are you sure?”
His voice is rushed but he’s looking at you with obvious interest. You smile up at him before leaning in and ghosting the tip of your nose over where you know his cock is hiding in his basketball shorts.
You make eye contact, “Please?”
Alec’s leg jumps.
That, the soft needy question you pose, is all he needs because in a second he’s reaching his hand back for one of his pillows and dropping it down for you to kneel on. You do so with a small chuckle and a “thank you.”
He’s trembling and giving you the most eager looks in between participating, voice mainly only keeping steady because you’re not trying to distract him. You just want him in your mouth, no mischief needed. Though he is fidgety partially because he knows if the inclination struck you you could easily embarrass the hell out of him.
You laugh and move to pull his pants down his thighs with his assistance. Once he’s free to your satisfaction you brush the lightest kiss to his happy trail. He sighs, meeting your gaze intermittently as he plays through his turn. In response you trail featherlight kisses down to his dick, which is steadily hardening for your consideration, kiss at his base and then travel down to lick over his balls.
His voice stutters harshly over his next sentence and you smile before pulling away. He gives you this panicked desperate look, making as if he’s about to start complaining you, but you wave him off.
“Easy baby,” you mouth right before making him gasp by kissing his tip and then wrapping your lips around his head.
You keep your pace easygoing as Alec stutters and stops over his words; as he trembles against you, dick twitching while you slowly engulf him.
You wring your first moan out of him when you’ve gotten him all the way down your throat, mind steadily blanking on anything other than the weight of him on your tongue and the slight twinge in your jaw, when the back of your throat swallows over his head.
His head drops down and his hand clumsily snaps out to mute his microphone.
“S-shit girl, oh my god. It’s like you’re trying to kill me -goddamn.” he groans at the hum you give him.
You barely fucking hear him, have no clue when he moaned that he nearly did it for everyone to hear. You're just losing yourself in the sensations. The way he pulses in your mouth, the occasional twitch as he struggles not to fuck into your throat, how your jaw feels, the stretch of your lips, and then the drool running clear like polished glass down your chin and dripping onto Alec’s balls.
You sigh and go limp against him when his hand moves to your head. He burrows his fingers into your thick curls to get a firm grip but doesn’t do anything else. You swallow around his cock again in thanks, only in tune with the way it makes him shift against you. In the strangled noise he makes. The fact he’s on call isn’t even a factor any more; just his pleasure and how he feels in your mouth.
Your eyes flutter shut happily as he scratches blunt nails against your scalp.
“God baby,” he gasps and you whine just the tiniest bit, pussy twinging between your legs. Your hands don’t move from their position in your lap though.
Alec’s got you. The thought echoes in your mind nicely as you hand over control. You don’t have to worry about anything else but him.
- - -
Alec curses above your head, completely unregistered by you, and then rushes to get himself excused. You’re making him feel so fucking good and for that you deserve all his attention -and boy does he want to give it. Plus, you dropped so fast that he’s a bit worried about you; it typically took way more coaxing from him to get you out of your head.
He’s extra careful with his movements as he logs off and shuts down his setup. His eyes draw fully to you once he’s done and don’t leave. You were too pretty like this, face relaxed like it only ever was in sleep with your lips stretched to accommodate his girth.
He brushes his free hand over your face when he shifts too much for your liking and you let out an utterly disparaging whine.
“Shh, baby, it’s alright. You’re doing so good for me, you know that? I got you I promise,” he grinds forward the smallest bit, moaning when you squeeze down. “So damn good.”
NOTES: Hi, hope you enjoyed! I don’t know shit about dnd so I kept this as vague as possible, and I didn’t use gaming because I know even less about that shit.
I’ll catch any typos later!
I just got back on my Leverage bullshit and so now I feel I must finally blow the thick layer of built up dust off of this draft and post it. Keep in mind though that I have since turned this fic into another - heavily edited - Peter Parker fic with a similar premise because of how scared I was to post a “Hardison x Reader” story, let alone a smutty one. (I know, self plagiarism; the horrors! The whole idea of “self plagiarism” is nonsense anyway, but I digress.)
btw: if you’d like to leave a comment I’d very much appreciate it! this is a sideblog tho so I won’t respond.
Ways he says and shows he loves you (Alec Hardison)
Headcanons: Ways he says and shows that he loves you.
Pairing: Alec Hardison x Gn!Reader
Requested by: Anonymous
Warnings: Brief mentions of physical affection (hugs/kisses)
-
Alec isn't really shy when it comes to expressing love to his partner.
His giving love languages are words of affirmation, and acts or service
So he will always tell you how he feels. Reminding you how important you are to him, and how much he loves you.
"You're the most important person in my life. "I love you more than anything"
"More than orange soda?" "If I had to choose between you and Orange soda, I'd choose you"
"More than Star Trek?" "Well now don't push i- OW!"
He is very supportive, and the best hype-man a boyfriend could be lol
"You're doing great babe!" "That was awesome!" "That was hot" "You're amazing you know that?" etc.
When his words fail him or he isn't sure exactly what you need to hear, he does things for you.
He will bring you coffee, tea, water, food or snacks.
He'll run you a nice bath after a long day, or bring you a blanket or pillow to cuddle with on the couch (unless you want to cuddle him, in that case he is ready and willing)
If you are so busy and overwhelmed, he will help you with the tasks he can, to take some of the stress away.
He is alway a shouder to cry on, or an ear when you need to rant about something stressing you out.
He shows you he loves you by giving you the attention you need and deserve.
And making sure you know what is making you upset, whether its big or small is valid.
"It's stupid I know" "If it's hurting you it's not stupid"
If you need help with a solution he will talk you through it. If you just need someone to listen, he will give you all the attention you need.
Besides words, he is a fan of physical affection.
So he will show you how he feels with hugs, kisses and more.
Hugs from behind when you are trying to do something. Kisses on your cheek temple and shoulder.
He will sway you back and forth as he holds you tightly in his arms.
Hand holding in public, or an arm across your shoulders.
It's his way of showing you he is always there. And he just loves being close to you.
xx
I need more. I need uncle hardison and aunt parker.
New Hope - Eliot x Reader drabble/one-shot
A/N: Okay, so I’m re-watching Leverage and I just wrapped season 2 where Nate is arrested and the angsty idea of his daughter being part of the team and losing him came to me so I started writing that and then the rest just sorta happened. Basically a drabble that turned into an unplanned one-shot I’m not entirely sure I like. I feel like I should give it additional parts but y’all can decide that. I also have another Eliot angst/fluff I’m almost done with and about 2-3 one-shots/multi fic ideas for Eliot I’m trying to organize.
Details: You are Nate’s daughter (either by Maggie or maybe gf/hs sweetheart before Maggie) that’s part of the team and already established gf/love of Eliot. Nate is arrested and it spirals you down, until you find something out and your life changes. Kinda sucks, please be kinda, haha.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the span of maybe two minutes, everything came to a screeching halt. Well, not quite a halt. More like trying to watching a video that was trying to load and play at the same time. Every part of your body felt heavy, heavier than you ever remember feeling. You try to focus on the situation at hand but things register too late.
Sterling, standing with cops, surrounding you and the team. Guns pointed at you. Trapped. Your dad speaking, walking to the rail. He cuffs himself to the rail. Why? What’s happening? Him and Sterling talking. What’s happening?
“Dad? What are you doing?” You take a half step towards him, when Eliot grabs your hand to hold you back. The guns shift in your direction.

CozyTober Day 4: The Smell of Smoke in the Air
Eliot Spencer x reader
wc: 2.7k (this sprinted away from me)
warnings: minor discussion of dv, drinking alcohol
a/n: Eliot is one of those characters that I have to write stories for myself because there isn't very many people who do. So to all the people who love him like me: here ya go! Please Reblog if you enjoyed this so more people can see it too! See you all later for Day 5!
One week… Nate had given the team one week to recoup and recollect after our latest con went sideways. The grumpy bastard shoos you all out of the brewpub and tells you not to come back for a week or he’ll sick Sophie on you. Hardison and Parker don’t seem to have a problem with it, they jaunt out of the doors, tossing ideas of what to do between them all the while. You distinctly hear Parker mention something about a new vent installation at a museum whose name you can't pronounce. You shake your head but smile. It's nice, that Alec and Parker have each other, someone to share the troubles of this kind of life with.
“So what you gonna do with your week?” Eliot sidles up next to you, hands you a mug, and joins you in looking out the window into the rain that seems perpetual here.
“Not sure” you shrug, “maybe skip town, visit one of my other apartments?” you shrug and take a sip, chai with a dash of vanilla and cream exactly the way you make it. You’d probably spend the week in Seattle, and check in on your building. You paid for it under a fake name that Hardison was kind enough to put together for you. The penthouse held some of you stuff, decorated and ready to go just in case, and the rest of the building was down-low housing for women who needed it. You had set it up when the team was splitsville after the David job. You suddenly had more money than you knew what to do with and wanted to put some more good into the world.
“Sounds like a good time.” Eliot sips from his own mug. “Want company?”
His question is masked with a heavy nonchalance but you know Eliot, better than the rest of the team and maybe even better than himself. You clock the way his eyes dart to the ground and he licks the corner of his mouth. He’s nervous, but trying not to show it.
Silly man, doesn’t he know that spending time with him is all you ever want to do? Doesn’t he know that he’s the reason you stuck around? Sure, working with a man like Nate Ford, and doing good was reason enough, but Eliot- Eliot is who you’d follow to the ends of the earth, Nate Ford be damned.
“Why not?” You shrug and flash a smirk at him. “We‘ll leave in two hours, I have a pilot who owes me a favor. Unless a private plane is too rich for your blood.” You quirk an eyebrow at him.
“Two hours, see you then.” Eliot winks at you and downs what is left in his mug. He turns and walks away, pushing past the doors and into the brewpub kitchen.
You let out a sharp breath and smile privately. You shake your head and pull out your phone, you have a call to make.
“Frankie, it’s me. I’m calling in that favor you owe me.”
____
Two hours later you are waiting at the runway, a packed duffle on the ground by your feet. You tap your phone against your palm and scan the entrances looking for Eliot. You had texted him the address half an hour ago and he had responded with “;)” which could mean literally anything and you kinda want to hit him for not using actual words.
Frankie descends from the plane and nods to you, “Ready to go?” he asks, reaching down to grab your duffle.
“Patience is a virtue, Morales.” You bit your lip and continue looking around for any sign of Eliot.
You don’t have to wait much longer, the sound of Eliot’s boots hitting the asphalt perks your ears. He is sporting a dark pair of jeans, a red henley, and his leather jacket. His hair pushed back buy the pair of aviators sitting atop his head. He also has a duffle bag, dark brown leather with silver hardware. You can tell that it’s well-loved, how many places has that bag been?
“Not planning on leaving without me were you sweetheart?” Eliot flashes you a disarming smile and comes to a stop in front of you.
“You’re late.” You shoot back.
“Couldn’t find parking.” He shrugs and moves towards the door of the plane, taking the steps two at a time. He peeks his head out from the door and looks down at you, still standing on the runway. “You coming?” He asks.
The plane ride is nice, the two of you talk for some of the six-hour flight. You sleep for a little bit of it, Eliot reads a leatherbound book that you can’t read the name of. It’s peaceful, which isn’t usually the case when it comes to the time you two get to spend together.
Eventually, you land in Seattle and disembark. Frankie passes you keys as you get off the plane. “This makes us even right?” You nod at him and respond, “Yeah, we’re even. At least until the next time I need to save your ass.”
He laughs and claps you on the back, radioing to the tower for a refueling tankard so he can head back home.
You and Eliot walk side by side through the airport, easily locating the Jeep Frankie had arranged for you in the lot. It’s a nice forest green and looks brand new, you’ll have to ask him where he found it.
“Hop in, it’s another forty-five minutes into the city.” You climb into the driver’s seat and toss your bag in the back.
The car ride is similar to the plane. Talking with Eliot is easy, he embraces low-stakes conversation just as well as he listens to the tougher stuff.
Eventually, you get into the city and a few minutes later you are pulling into a street lot next to your building. It’s nondescript, blending in easily with the buildings around it. You grab your duffle and Eliot does the same, making your way to the front stoop. You press the buzzer button next to the door and wait a moment before the light flashes green and the e-lock on the door disengages.
Eliot raises an eyebrow at the level of security but you just shake your head at him. “I’ll tell you later.” You mouth. He nods and steps out of the wetness that was Seattle’s downtown and into the space.
The lobby is sparse and painted a muted grey but it isn’t clinical in a way that neutral spaces can sometimes be. There’s a certain warmth that emanates throughout the whole space.
You nod your head at the blonde woman sitting behind the desk sitting in the corner.
“Hey Marcy, how are things going?”
“Good! We’ve moved out three girls and moved in two more.”
“Sounds like a busy month, are you taking time for yourself?” You ask her.
“‘Course I am, in fact, Tommy will be by soon to pick me up so we can go see that new spooky movie in theaters.”
“Good, well we won’t hold you. Have a good night Marce.”
“You too ma’am.”
You visibly grimace. “I’ve told you to use my name every time you’ve called me ma’am since we met Marcy.”
“You’re my boss, ma’am.” You can see her trying to hide a smile and just laugh lightly before making your way towards the elevator.
“One day Marcy, one day you will use my actual name.”
Eliot just stands back and takes in the banter, he doesn’t really know how to feel at the moment. You have a whole different life here, with people he doesn’t know and apparently, you’re a boss? What else doesn’t he know about you? He’s excited at the prospect of figuring that out.
“Eliot, are you coming?” You ask him, hand out holding open the elevator doors.
That spurs him into action and he sends a polite nod to Marcy’s way before following you into the smaller space.
The ride up is short, only eight floors before you reach the top floor, your floor.
The space is decorated exactly to your taste, this is your favorite place to lay low and he can tell. The space screams you and he can’t wait to spend a week with you here. He’s been trying for literal years to bridge the gap between friends and coworkers to something more but there has always been something in the way. First, it was his own hangups about his past, then it was Moreau. Then the team was under attack, then, then, then. But now... Now was his chance and he would not waste it.
“I imagine you have questions.” You split the silence, offering him a tumbler of amber liquid.
“A few, what is this place?”
“This place as in my apartment, or this place as in the whole building?”
“Yes.” He takes a sip of the whiskey. It’s deep and oaky, smooth. The way he likes it.
“Well, after Dubenich tried to blow us up I figured I could use a place off the record that I could lay low in if push comes to shove. My share of that job was a lot bigger than I thought it would be so I started looking around. I’ve got places like that all over the globe, five I think. This building though, it’s the only one I have like it.” You make your way to the large couch in the center of the space, it looks both chic and comfy at the same time, and when he sits he’s surprised by the softness.
“I bought the whole building, it was easier paperwork-wise that way, but I didn’t need the other twenty-four apartments so I started a shelter. I hired Marcy, who has actual experience in that kind of thing, and asked her how much money she would need to keep this place running and stocked. She gave me a number, I added a zero to the end of it and gave her an expense account. I have more money than I know what to do with, but Marcy does, so…” You shrug and take a sip of your own drink.
“Thats … amazing.” Eliot breathes into the space. “You’re amazing.” He says a little louder. “Not many people in your situation would do the same thing.”
“I’ve done some pretty shitty stuff El. I guess… This is my way of trying to put more good into the world than bad. Like, evening out the scales of karma or something like that.”
“Yeah,” He whispers, “I know what that's like.”
“I know you do, who do you think gave me the idea?” You look at him.
Eliot places his empty glass down on a coaster sitting on the edge of your side table and grabs your own out of your hand, putting in right next to his. He holds your hand in his own. The roughness of his skin brushes nicely against your own. Your eyes track from the point of contact, up his arms, and into his eyes. He’s already staring at you, deeply looking into your own eyes as soon as they make contact.
“I didn’t think that I deserved nice things. I had done unspeakable things to innocent people. Guys like me don’t get happy endings. Then, you crashed into my life with your soft edges and your witty jokes, and your awful taste in music. You made me want nice things. You made me…” he trailes off.
“Made you what, Eliot?” You search his face for the answers you want.
“You made me hope.” He whispers into the air.
A smile spreads across your face, soft and filled with all the love you have in your heart for the man in front of you.
“Good.” You laugh, pulling Eliot’s face into your hand and placing a single delicate kiss on the corner of his lips.
You pull back, only inches away, and scan his face once more. You clock the small scars that paint his face. Places where skin had split and healed and split again. Your eyes trace the curve of his brow, the plushness of his lips, and the shadow of stubble trailing his jawline. Most noticeably though, you watch a flush run up his neck and fill his cheeks.
Your smile widens. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you blush before,” you tell him.
“I haven’t.” He laughs.
“I like it.” You kiss the other corner of his lips softly, waiting and wanting for the flush to grow a deeper shade of red.
That second kiss though, spurs Eliot into action, and from one second to the next you are in his lap, as he ravishs your lips. He’s forceful and gentle at the same time, pulling all kinds of feelings from your heart and noises from your throat.
The sun sets.
The sun rises.
Sometime in between you fall asleep on your couch, you laying between his legs with your head resting on the left side of his chest. His arms wrap loosely around you and his hair forms a halo around his head.
Somehow you wake before him and manage to slip out of his hold, replacing your body with a pillow in his arms when he begins to stir.
You stand over him for a minute grinning like an idiot at the sight of his chest peeking out between the open buttons of his knit shirt. God, you could get used to waking up to a sight like this.
You decide with a quick scan of the pantry and fridge that you’ll make pancakes for breakfast, you have a box mix a bottle of oil, and a single unopened bag of chocolate chips.
You practically dance around your kitchen, mixing the batter, heating a pan, and spooning out enough for the first couple of pancakes.
—
Eliot wakes up when the sun streams in from the window and casts over his eyes. He takes in his surroundings and smiles his own goofy smile when he remembers what happened the night before.
Surprising even himself, he recalls more of the conversation between the two of you than anything else that had transpired. You have more in common than he realized, this both soothes his heart and makes it ache at the same time. What had you gone through before meeting the team? What had you done that made you seek your own form of redemption? How could he ease those burdens for you? Could he ease them at all?
He’s brought out his musing by the wafting smell of smoke followed by the loud chirping of the smoke detector. He jumps up from his spot on the couch and follows the smell to the kitchen where his eyes land on you. You’re standing in front of a pan of what he assumes was supposed to be pancakes except they’re charred and stuck to the bottom of the pan.
He swoops in and takes the pan from your hands, kissing you on the cheek as he brushes past you and towards the sink.
“What were you planning to make for breakfast, rocks?” he teases you and chuckles at the pout that spreads across your lips.
“They were supposed to be pancakes.” You glare at him.
“Sit,” he points at the stools sitting on the other side of your island. “I’ll take over.”
You obey, though not without rolling your eyes. Eliot’ll make better pancakes than you could anyway so it isn’t too much of a loss. Your pride is a small price to pay for amazing food.
You watch him move around the space like he owns it. And you start to think, not for the first time how amazing it would be to have Eliot in your space like this all the time.
You’re going to enjoy this week. You make a mental note to thank Nate Ford again, then think better of it. He doesn’t need anything else to inflate his ego.

Random Thought:Klaus Mikaelson
I know most people probably don’t know what Leverage is but if you do please tell me you agree cause this has been in my head for a LONG time.
Leverage
I know this one is really different and idk how many people will even know what I’m talking about but I thought I would write it since it’s been in my head for literally 2 years now after the first episode dropped July 2021.
I was In Love with a show called Leverage when I was a kid, it started when I was like 11 and ran for 5 seasons where they worked in Boston and Portland and other places but Leverage Redemption is set in New Orleans…you know where I’m going with this!
I have a near constant fanfic playing in my head where Klaus Mikaelson meets the Leverage team and it’s awesome!
Sophie would be so intrigued by him, and his accent! She would be asking him a BILLION questions about fine art! Klaus would enjoy the ability to talk to her in depth as she’s so intelligent when it comes to historical art.
Parker would love that he’s indestructible! She would push him off buildings like Hardison…just without the harness. I believe Klaus would enjoy how insane Parker is and he would learn everything he could about being a thief from her. And don’t tell me she wouldn’t be obsessed with his ability to compel people.
Hardison would be frustrated that he doesn’t have ANY internet presence, he’s a literally ghost and it irks him! Hardison would amuse Klaus and he would absolutely use him to make him fake IDs from then on.
Harry would be terrified of him and you cannot change my mind, he would avoid Klaus like the plague and our Hybrid would have so much fun fucking with him, scaring him almost constantly. Eventually I think he would chill out but it would take a while…poor Harry.
And Breanna? Klaus would be Breannas new best friend! She would Love to play pranks with him, teach him all kinds of video games, she would show him all the gadgets she makes and teach him about hacking. I truly believe he would come to view her like his child the way he did Marcel, I want to see them interact more than Anything!
Eliot is the only mystery to me honestly, it could go several ways where he never trusts him or where they grow to be friends. Personally I believe he would be cautious, of course. Eliot wouldn’t trust Klaus for a second and Klaus would feel the same. Eliot knows he’s a vampire and he does all the research he can into Klaus’ past, legends about him and such and what he finds doesn’t calm him. Seeing how much Breanna, Parker and Sophie love him would ease his worries a bit, clearly Klaus has no intention of harming them but he doesn’t trust him. I believe Klaus would slowly grow on him, especially the first time Klaus heals him from his painful injuries after a bad job.
Klaus would enjoy the team a lot! He would love to watch them con corrupt assholes and even try to be of assistance when they allowed it.
I want to write a fic about another member of the team and Klaus falling for her, I think him being inducted into their little Found Family would be the most precious thing in the world!

The Gala Job - Chapter 2
Eliot Spencer x Reader
click here for chapter 1
Description: Celebratory drinks with the team, but you can't keep your mind (or your eyes) off of a certain hitter.
• • •
As you entered, the whole team was sitting at a table, Parker and Hardison seated next to each other across from Nate and Sophie, leaving you to sit across from Eliot.
You walked to the bar to get your first drink before settling in next to Sophie. Nate leaned behind her and said “Great work today.”
It wasn’t much, but that little reassurance made you smile. Nate was a good man and it meant a lot to know he thought well of you too.
You both leaned back into the rest of the conversation. As if he had been waiting for his cue, Hardison began detailing the files found on the flash drive.
There was mountains of evidence against Whitehall and Apex. They had been falsifying records, evading their taxes and embezzling funds. This should bring them down for good.
They deserved it. They had hurt so many people.
He deserved it. He almost hurt you.
You glanced over at Eliot, watching the way he subtly wrung his hands together. Those hands could fill your thoughts for days, but the way they pulled against each other portrayed too much stress. He deserved better.
Hardison broke down file after file, detailing every way this company was screwed. This would guarantee they would lose the ongoing lawsuit and get Whitehall plenty of jail time. As you listened to him talk, your eyes drifted around the bar. This pub felt weirdly like home to you. Maybe it was just the people that felt like home.
Conversation started to drift off of the current case and onto past cases. Parker regaling you with stories of theft, that you may have heard dozens of times, but impressed you nonetheless. Sophie detailing some lavish jewelry that she managed to steal.
“I’ll be right back” you said, excusing yourself to go to the bathroom.
As you exited the stall to wash your hands, you saw Sophie by the sink, clearly waiting on you. “So I wanted to ask” she began “are you doing ok? I know Whitehall had you cornered and you seem a little out of it tonight.”
“Sorry to have worried you. I’m ok, just a little lost in thought is all.” You chuckled softly, adding, “In fact, I was enjoying this job until things went south. Whitehall is a terrible gut, but –”
“He was nice to look at?” Sophie chimed in.
“Not my type.” you sighed “The food there though was wonderful. I kind of wish the case had taken a bit longer. Didn’t even make it past the hors d'oeuvres.”
“Not your type?” Sophie asked incredulously. “The man looked like he walked straight in off the runway or straight out of a catalogue.”
You shrugged, “Rich, pretty boys just aren’t my type.”
“You had the undivided attention and admiration of an incredibly wealthy man and all you have to say is that he isn’t “your type?’”
“Well we both know how he got that money, so that’s hardly a selling point.” you tried to laugh it off, knowing damn well why you weren't even slightly enamored by the affections of Edgar Whitehall. Regardless of your moral objections to the man, he never stood a chance.
You both headed back towards the table. You glanced at the table from across the bar, looking at your friends, and perhaps lingering on Eliot longer than you meant to. You heard Sophie add an excited “ Oh!” you turned back to look at her as she continued “He didn’t catch your attention because someone else already has it.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about Sophie” you tried to brush her off, rolling your eyes as you walked back to your seat.
“Whatever you say” she replied, taking her seat next to you. Hardison continued his story, though everyone at the table was eyeing you and Sophie suspiciously now.
Eliot shot you a curious look. You mouthed “It’s nothing” back at him and hoped that would be enough to get everyone to drop it. You looked back to the table and the moment you caught Parker’s eyes, that hope was lost.
“What were you two just talking about?” She pointed between you and Sophie.
“Nothi–” you tried to rush out before being promptly cut off by Sophie.
“Our Y/N here has a little crush”
You tried to avoid looking at Eliot as you replied “Or Sophie is just jumping to conclusions and has no idea what she’s talking about.”
This didn’t help much as Parker and Hardison took turns asking you rapid fire questions.
“Is it someone we know?” Hardison started.
“Is it a guy?
“A girl?”
“Can we meet them?”
“Why didn’t you tell us?”
“Why haven’t you just asked them out yet?”
“Who is it?”
“That’s enough guys!” Nate snapped at them both.
You mouthed “Thank you” at Nate. You weren’t quite sure they would have backed off nearly as quickly for you.
“I’m gonna go grab another round of drinks.” you said, excusing yourself once again.
Both Parker and Hardison mumbled “Sorry” as you stood up. You know they were just excited. They didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable, but as you stood up you caught Eliot still looking at you.
You ordered everyone’s drinks. As the bartender walked away you felt someone walk up behind you.
“I figured you could use a hand in carrying those all back.” Eliot’s voice rang through your ears . Shit.
“I appreciate it.” You thought that if you didn’t bring it up, maybe he wouldn’t either, and the silence you were met with briefly let you believe that.
“So who is this new lover of yours?”
“He’s not my–” you cut yourself off realizing you’d said too much.
“So Sophie was right. There is someone.” He grins, clearly satisfied with himself. “Who is he?”
“Why do you care, Eliot?”
“Because I care about you sweetheart.”
“Not your sweetheart” you retorted.
“Why are you keeping it a secret hun? Is it one of us? It’s me isn’t it?” The joking tone of voice at the prospect of you having feelings for him stung more than it should have. Luckily, this conversation could come to an end as the bartender handed you the drinks.
“In your dreams Spencer.”
“Oh, I’m sure I’m in yours.” He winked at you as he sat down across from you.
The night went on, the topic of your love life no longer being of interest. The team was now discussing plans for hypothetical vacations, and places they legally couldn't vacation. They waxed poetic about dream purchases, and dream thefts.
Nate was the first to leave. He had been nearly dozing off for probably the last fifteen minutes.
Sophie followed him out the door saying “Well, I better make sure I get him home safely before I head home.” The rest of us looked at each other knowingly. She wasn’t heading home. She never did when she took Nate home. They would stagger their entrances the next day to be almost exactly five minutes apart, and, like always, we would all pretend not to notice.
Hardison was the next to stand up, looking at you and Eliot, “I can drive you both home before we head back, if y’all would like.”
“Thanks Alec” you said, gathering your things. The others stood up too, and you all headed out into the cold wintery night together. Hardison took the wheel, while Parker sat shotgun. You and Eliot sat behind them. You glanced up at Eliot to find him already looking at you. It took so much restraint to not just stare into those beautiful blue eyes, but you managed nonetheless.
The van came to a stop a few blocks from your apartment building. Eliot chimed in, looking at you, “This would be my stop, but if you want, I can walk you home first.”
You hesitated for a second, not wanting to make him go out of his way just to walk you home. Maybe it was something in the air, but between that southern accent and his puppy dog eyes, there was never really a chance of you turning him down that night.
You got out, telling Hardison to drive safe. Stepping into the bitter cold, you started to regret letting Eliot talk you into this.
Staring daggers at Eliot as you shivered harshly, you asked “Damn it Eliot. Why Did you talk me into this? It’s so damn cold”
The amusement in his smile as he turned to face you was both the most infuriating and endearing reaction he could have had. It took everything in you to maintain your anger, if only as your only guard against melting as you looked at him.
Eliot shrugged off his jacket and wrapped it around your shoulders. Chuckling, he added, “You know, you’d be a lot warmer and maybe less grumpy if you dressed for the weather.”
You tried to laugh off the butterflies forming in your stomach as you sunk into his jacket, “Then why is it that you’re always so grumpy?”
He rolled his eyes at you and you walked in contented silence until you approached your building. “Let me walk you to your door?” he offered.
“Yeah, come on up.” You led the way up a few flights of stairs, had you looked back you would have seen Eliot Spencer, international criminal, looking at you with a look of pure softness. You didn’t look back, and you didn’t see a thing.
Faster than you had hoped, you reached your door. “This one’s mine. Thank you for keeping me company El. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.” He started to turn away as you put the key in your door, then you felt his hand gently grab your wrist as he said “Wait, Y/N. I wa—”
You cut him off, “Oh shit, your jacket.” You started to slide it off your shoulders as he looked at you in confusion.
“No, not that sweetheart.” He laughed nervously looking at the ground. “What I was trying to say was that I like you Y/N. I think I might even love you.”
“That isn’t funny Eliot”
“What? I wasn’t trying to be funny”
“Eliot, I don’t know what Sophie told you, but this isn’t funny. Yes, I have feelings for you, hell, my heart races everytime I look at you, but I can push past that. I don’t need your pity or for you to pretend to have feelings for me.”
Stepping closer, he gently grabbed your face. Mere millimeters from your lips he whispered, “Darlin’, I ain’t pretending and I sure as hell don't pity you. I want you to be mine, if you’ll have me.”
Hesitating for just a moment, you steadied yourself with a hand on his chest and you kissed him. It was a chaste, tender kiss. You pulled away with a groan of disapproval from Eliot.
You unlocked your door before looking back at him, “Are you coming?”

Leverage Rewrite Masterlist
Main Masterlist
Pairing: Eliot Spencer x Ford!Reader
Description: Y/n Ford is Nate's niece, of whom he looked after after his brother, her parents, died. Y/n gets pulled into the adventures and shenanigans of the Leverage team through this series rewrite, but she loves being along for the ride. The overly talented and handsome hitter doesn't hurt :)
Warnings: canon level violence, swearing, drinking. I'm sticking pretty close to the show thematically. I'll add warnings if needed.
A/n: this'll be a slow burn, btw. Partially inspired by @thegeeksideofsr and their Ford!reader, I thought it was an awesome idea to have the reader related to Nate!

I'm back with another Ford!reader I hope you don't mind.
I have a tag list growing, so if you like to be added to that for any future stories let me know!!
Takes place after Cooking Together
The job my dad was trying to pull was relatively simple. Except for the fact that it took six people to pull off.
He didn't want to involve me, but when they were planning everything and going through that marks background, it became clear that they needed another chef in the kitchen with Eliot.
Sophie was the one who suggested I join the con, just this one. Dad was against it of course, but when Sophie reminded him that I could get closer to the chef then any one, he relented. He partnered me with Eliot, made me promise to listen to him if the job goes south.
The con was going relatively well. Until Hardison jinxed it and said that he was glad this was an easy one. As soon as the words came out of his mouth it all went to shit.
Eliot and I were in the kitchen, Parker was dressed as a waitress and lifted the mark keys while Sophie and Nate kept him distracted at the house party.
She brought back everything we'd need to get into his office. She was very put out that she had to stay at the party, but she unfortunately, had caught the marks eye, and if she left for any amount of time longer that her getting a fresh tray, the mark would notice.
We had to sneak from the kitchen, nearly getting caught twice by the guards while trying to get to the stairs.
The marks office was the next floor up, and near the stairs. We managed to get up there and in the office fine, got want we needed and were on our way out when Hardison opened his big mouth.
We got to the hall way at the bottom of the stairs and head towards the double glassdoors, only to find it was being watched by two rather big men.
"Damnit Hardison, there's guards on the door. How we supposed to get passed them?"
"Well think of something cause you need to get back to the kitchen."
Apparently, the sound of our voices we're just loud enough through the door that they caught the attention of the guard closest to us. Panic starts to bubble as he start to turn towards us.
I turn to Eliot, who is already gearing up for a fight, but we really don't need the attention that a fight would bring. With time running out I grab him by the back of his shirt and pull him in front of me.
"What are you doing?" He asks, trying to pull away to put himself between the guards and I.
"Taking a card out of Parker's book." I tighten my grip on his collar, press him into a closed door, and kiss him.
This was the first time we'd kissed since the night in my kitchen.
We get lost in the kiss, his hands on my hips, mine in his hair, and one of his legs pressed between mine, only the sound of a throat clearing breaks is out of it.
We turn and look at where the sound came from. The guard has annoyed look on his face as he looks at us.
"This area is off limits," he grumbles.
"Sorry, sir, just wanted a little privacy from the kitchen." Eliot plays it off.
" Shouldn't you be there now? Not snogging in a corner?"
"Snogging?" My dad's voice comes over the comms like he's on the verge of having a stroke.
"Yes, sir. As soon as we can put ourselves together again."
The man nods, then walks back to his post.
Eliot and I stand pressed against each other, trying to catch or breath. I watch one emotion after another pass over his face. His eyes show more then he probably wanted.
I take a breath to say something, but Parker's voice over the comms breaks the silence between us.
" You two done, cause I'm close to stabbing him."
" Yeah, on our way back." Eliot growls, as he separates us and heads towards the door.
I take a deep breath, and follow him back through the doors to the hall, passed the guards and back to the kitchen.
"Eliot, did you just kiss my daughter?"

petcr3’s RomCom Party! { a Valentine’s Day event }
Whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s with friends, a significant other, by yourself, or not at all, there’s one thing no one can resist… a good ol’ romantic comedy!
So to celebrate V-Day, I’m hosting a movie party! Send in the movie titles, guests, and snacks that correlate to your favorite tropes, characters, and extra flair! Feel free to be specific in what you’re looking for or let me take the reins! You can make a whole movie marathon or just come for the snacks, it’s up to you! While I can’t guarantee I’ll get to everything (and I’ll definitely be working on this stuff past February 14th) I’m really excited to be taking requests again!
Check out the options below!
The Guest List (aka who I’m accepting prompts for)
Top Gun: Maverick - Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, Reuben “Payback” Fitch, Robert “Bob” Floyd, Mickey “Fanboy” Garcia, Javy “Coyote” Machado, Jake “Hangman” Seresin, and Natasha “Phoenix” Trace
Leverage - Tara Cole, Sophie Devereaux, Alec Hardison, Parker, Eliot Spencer
Stranger Things - Jonathon Byers, Robin Buckley, Chrissy Cunningham, Steve Harrington, Eddie Munson, Nancy Wheeler
The Amazing Spider-Man - Peter Parker (as played by Andrew Garfield), Gwen Stacy
Movies (aka tropes, scenarios, etc)
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days - Dating based on a bet! Specify whether you’d prefer the reader or the love interest to be the one making the bet. Otherwise, dealer’s choice!
13 Going on 30 - Childhood friends/Friends to lovers, perhaps a la the girl/boy/person next door trope!
Say Anything - Grand romantic gestures! Can be for any reason; specify if you like! Maybe a character wants to apologize or someone needs cheering up. Maybe even a love confession!
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World - This one’s all about exes. That could mean exes to lovers, a run in with an ex while out with a partner, or just a simple dating history conversation. If you feel called to, get creative!
Sleepless in Seattle - Anything long distance/related to being apart!
You’ve Got Mail - Enemies/rivals/frenemies to lovers!
Bridget Jones’s Diary - Love triangle or two (or more!) characters competing for someone’s heart!
My Best Friend’s Wedding - Love is in the air… somebody’s getting married! Who knows what could happen? Meet cutes, objections, love confessions, or whatever your heart desires!
No Strings Attached - When friends with benefits become something more!
The Proposal - All things fake dating! Green card marriages, making someone jealous, helping out a stranger at a bar, placating the family… it’s all on the table!
He’s Just Not That Into You - Not so unrequited love! Mutual pining, idiots to lovers, etc.
Never Been Kissed - This one’s for firsts! First kiss, first time, first date, first relationship! Can be a one-sided first (ie, character A’s first kiss ever) a mutual first (both characters have never had a serious relationship before) or a together first (first time the characters have been together).
It Happened One Night - Road trip! Is this a romantic getaway? Is someone running from a bad breakup? Is this just a fun drive between friends that blossoms into something more? You decide!
Snacks (aka extra plot elements/details)
Candy Hearts: a love confession occurs!
Chocolate Covered Strawberries: the story takes place on Valentine’s Day!
Popcorn: the characters sing karaoke (or sing along to any kind of accompaniment)
Pop Rocks: the characters fight! (And then make up because I said so)
Cotton Candy: any kind of hurt/comfort, whether it be emotional or of the whump variety
Bonus (aka flavor of fic)
Musical - Song Fic! Either choose a song or I’ll pick one that I think fits the vibe of your choices!
Rated R - Things get a little heated… (it’s smut)
Sequel - What it says on the tin! A sequel to a previous prompt reply!
Happy Valentine’s Day everybody! I can’t wait for you to join the party! 💘

Five times he finds himself falling for you w/ ALEC•H
SFW, 16+, mild profanity, canon typical sexual themes, 5+1 Things -chubby!reader & alt!reader/goth!reader
This follows an (altered) aftermath of the mission in S3E7: “The Gone Fishin’ Job”.
#TWO
After the run in with the militia you insist on coming over to see him, and he likes the fact that you stayed too much to deny you your request.
You fussed over him until he got you to stop freaking and then you two talked for hours. You’d even brought him get well soon cookies and that was the shit (and very kind of you he was very flattered).
You’d asked to stay over again to binge watch series like you used to in college until he felt better (he was only playing up his injuries a little bit, okay?) and so as the sky got darker you’d gone to change.
Alec had just about been holding his breath for you to walk back out in the same two piece set as last time.
What you’d come out in instead was way more intricate than the last time. The cami and shorts had really worked for you, don’t get him twisted, but this somehow managed to upstage it.
It was a black slip dress for Christ's sake. One that suited your figure nicely at that. The back of it just barely went over your behind and everything - not that he let his clocking of those observations get disrespectful of course.
Once the time came, you’d changed the bandages Eliot dressed him with and redressed the cuts scattered all over his person. After that Alec would admit to being almost too caught up by your heat pressed against him to keep up with your excited barrage of chatter about the newest issues of Hellblazer: City of Demons and Hellboy Sacrifice.
Almost.
They weren’t the comics he frequented but it was nice to know you still liked the same stuff, and nice to see how animated you got while helping him out as he engaged in the topic of discussion with you.
That familiarity was good. It was safe and uncharted all at once and Alec couldn’t help but to be drawn in by that feeling.
That sense that - finally - something new was brewing on the horizon that didn’t include loft explosions and Alec running for his damn life because he refused to not fight for the little guy anymore.
That was the old him.
He watches, smiling and with a nearly shocked brow raised, as you draw literary parallels like they’re second nature (as easy to you as writing code) and realizes that this was a new you too.
A new you he hopes to get more opportunities to relearn.
NOTES: Hope you enjoyed!!!
I didn’t specify what comics the Reader-Insert was talking about to un-generalize her too much; it’s just supposed to point out her and Alex’s juxtaposing similarities and show that she’s a lil alternative. Think PenPen before the BAU kind of - but black, obviously.
btw: there is basically nothing here but you can write a lil comment if you want to.
