The Mak-ani bray Dhani (The Eye of Aldhani) It’s not really a meteor shower. It’s a recurrent band of crystallized noctilucent microdensities. Billions of crystals. Very heavy but small and unstable as the planet passes through the belt, they swarm the atmosphere, heat up and explode.

thinking about how Andor “feels likes Star Wars”. At times I feel like it’s just a well-structured, character-rich story under a Star Wars wrap, but more often, and more so with each episode, I love the themes they explored that were always just out of frame in past entries. The average people, just feel so real.
I’m thinking about Andor feels “fanfic-y” in the sense it treats Star Wars as a universe. It asks and answers questions about how it works and who lives in it.

Aldhani was a cold, damp, unpleasant place, and what was even worse, it was mind numbingly boring - the last thing one would expect when planing a raid on a Imperial garrison. Nemik, surprisingly, turned out to be a solution to both the cold and boredom. He just needed to tune out the endless talking and try and focus on more simple things. (He maybe doesn’t listen, but somehow, Nemik still managed to get under his skin and made him feel things he really wanted to avoid.) Skeen is a backstabbing bastard, but I still thins he felt something real towards Nemik. So 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ #andor #starwars ##starwarsandor #karisnemik #nemik #arvelskeen #skeen #aldani https://www.instagram.com/p/ClTtxxtKZm8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

One thing I like about Andor is the conscious choice to have so many of the Imperials unmasked. Like, the Stormtrooper, white-armored, helmet vaguely resembling a skull, is one of the most iconic pieces of Star Wars imagery, up there with the death star and the light sabre. The faceless hordes of the Empire. And it would have been easy to have Stormtroopers everywhere, Stormtroopers on Aldani, Stormtroopers patrolling the streets of Ferrix, Stormtroopers guarding the prison, but they don’t. I recall a few stormtroopers here and there in the finale, but the iconic white armor is fairly thin on the ground in the show. The various imperial troops we see usually show their faces. I think the one big exception is the shore trooper that arrests Cassian. Otherwise, almost every Imperial we see has their face uncovered. If I recall, the Riot-Cop equivalents in the finale don’t even put their goggles on, instead having them sit on their helmets even after the bricks and firebombs start flying. It’s a pretty major departure from the visual language we see elsewhere, where most of the Imperials are either fully armored Stormtroopers or cloth-uniformed Officers shouting orders. And it works because it scales down the nature of the story. Star Wars is a mythic tale about Great Heroes vs the Faceless Hordes of the Empire. As much as Andor is a story about rebellion and resistance, it’s ALSO a story that examines how authoritarian fascist regimes operate, and the answer is that there are a lot of people more than willing to help. By having the Imperials be unmasked, we don’t get to forget that the Empire isn’t just Palpatine and a handful of high-ranking officers with upper-class British accents, it’s people all the way down. Gunfights are not Heroic Rebels vs Faceless Puppets of the Empire, it’s People vs People. The Empire’s authority isn’t projected by human-shaped suites of armor with skull helmets, it’s projected by people who chose to join up with the Empire.

Hello, unfortunately my previous account was deleted so I will retell my story, my name is Ahmed Al-Dani, I am 14 years old. I live in Gaza, where I was born amidst ongoing conflicts and wars. In 2008, while my mother was pregnant with me, a phosphorous bomb fell near our house, and I inhaled the toxic gas. This led to genetic deformities that affected the growth of my teeth and hair.
Throughout my life, my family has tried to find solutions to my health problems, and we have visited many doctors in Gaza. The treatment recommended by the nurses was dental implants, but each tooth costs about $1,000, which is beyond our means.
My treatment journey began, but the ongoing conflict has made things more difficult. My family and I have been displaced more than seven times in the past ten months, and we now live in the southern part of Gaza without work or income, relying only on savings that we hoped to use for my treatment.
Please support me or share my story to help me continue my treatment and travel outside of Gaza, where I can complete my dental implants and take care of my health. The total cost of coordinating the travel and medical treatment is $50,000. Every donation, no matter how small, will be a beacon of hope for a better life.
Thank you for your generosity and helping me get a chance at a new life.❤️❤️

I am Ahmed Al-Dhani, 14 years old, I was born in Gaza, Palestine, during the 2008 war. My mother was carrying me in her belly, and because of the intense fear and the smell of gunpowder and white phosphorus that the Israeli occupation was firing, I was born with a birth defect. My teeth do not grow, my hair does not grow, and the hair on my body does not grow. I am asking for help so that I can have dental implants and treatment abroad.
Hey there! I’m reaching out to share my story—at 14, I’ve faced challenges with my teeth due to a birth defect caused by the war in Gaza. Your support, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in helping me get the dental implants I need; if you’re able to, please consider sharing or donating my link. Thank you for your kindness!❤️

RebelCaptain Week 2024
Day Two: Missing Scene
Jyn turned the Kyber Crystal over and over in her hand, looking at the light hitting it. They were almost to Scarif. She thought about her mother as she tried to think of the words that she used to say when they went to pray. Her mother had been a believer and her final words of "Trust the Force" still were so clear in Jyn's mind.
Despite her constant battles and endless escapes, she had always found comfort in her mother's pendant that she always had with her. She looked up to see that Cassian had come to find her. They were going to be heading to the surface of the planet soon.
"Kyber Crystal?" he asked, looking at her necklace. She looked at him, surprised.
"Yeah," she said, showing it to him and he nodded, "Do you mind?"
She didn't know why but she knew she could trust him with it. She took it off, showing it to him. He sat down on the bench next to her, turning it over in his hand.
"I had one of these once," he murmured and handed it back to her. "I didn't think it was real."
"What did you do with it?"
"Gave it back to it's owner. He was trying to get me to work for him so he gave me a piece of Kyber as a down payment."
Aldani felt like a lifetime ago. Meeting Luthen, joining the rebellion, becoming a spy. Everything felt like it was off in the distance. he had come to only care about the next moment next to Jyn. He looked at the necklace as she put it back on.
"My mother gave it to me," she said and he nodded, looking at the crystal. "I never really had that kind of faith..."
"But you still wear it."
She smiled a him a little. It was the first time in a long time that she had really held it like this. She had thought about throwing it away so many times. But now it was almost like her mother's words were urging her- this really was a step in a bigger plan that she had never understood until now. This mission- this life that she had endured had been for a reason. Jyn looked at Cassian.
"Do you think the Force is real?"
He shrugged, he was not one for faith in anything but his own abilities. He had scoffed at Churrit before, but he had not really meant to be mean spirited. If the Force was real, it had never showed itself to him. Cassian only knew how to rely on his wits. He looked around the ship.
"I like to think that there is a reason we're all doing this, I guess..." he said and she nodded, looking at her necklace once more. They were so close to the end of this journey, she could feel it.
