Hazbin Hotel Theory:
Alastor's soul is owned by Lilith to look after Charlie
Tumblr media
"I'm hungry to freedom like never before. The constraints of my deal surely have a back door. Once I figure out how to unclip my wings, guess who will be pulling all the strings" - Episode 8
Tumblr media
"It has been an age since thou hath graced us with thy presence. Some hath spun wild tales of you falling into...holy arms?" - Zestial, Episode 3
Tumblr media
Alastor hasn't been seen in hell for 7 years and Charlie mentions she hasn't spoken to her mother in 7 years either (beginning of episode 1).
Tumblr media
"Adam is dead. Your deal is done and I'm in charge now. Your brat is threatening the very foundation of heaven. And if you want to stay here, you're going down there and stopping that bitch. You understand me, Lilith?" - Lute, Episode 8
Tumblr media
Alastor immediately having beef with Lucifer stepping in to support Charlie. Lucifer's involvement would also reduce the amount of influence Alastor/Lilith could have on Charlie.
This jab in particular during 'Hell's Greatest Dad' stands out to me because Lilith & Lucifer are separated at this point. Maybe Alastor is dissing Lucifer for not being there for Charlie. All the while, Alastor was involved heavily in the Hotel project, even if that was just by Lilith's demands.
Tumblr media
Alastor: Well, it looks as though I need a visit to the tailor. Best of luck chums!"
Vaggie: Wait, you're leaving?! Alastor, we need your help. We need you to do your job.
Angel: We need a wall.
Alastor: Of course. Can't let my new project fall into disrepair already! What would the papers say?
This last piece may be a stretch - Alastor is on his way to the tailor but still pauses to fix the hotel. How obligated is Alator to keep the hotel in top condition? (Episode 2)
Tumblr media
"So then why do you want to help me if you don't believe in my cause?" - Charlie, Pilot
With that radio scratch, maybe Charlie struck a nerve by asking. Alastor was pretty clear that redemption wasn't possible - the nonexistent humanity. Is 'personal entertainment' a cover-up for being forced to help the hotel?
Tumblr media
Given the hierarchy of Hell in the hellaverse, there aren't many who could put Alastor in a place of vulnerability or provide services that he cannot do for himself (strike a deal, then). Lilith would have the power to keep Alastor in bonds and may have a motive in keeping an anonymous eye on her daughter.

oooo ooooo OOOOOO!
What if Al was actually the original redeemed sinner and *that's* where he was for those 7 years? What if he actually did die again 7 yrs back but was appalled when he reincarnated in heaven and immediately started a campaign to be sent back? What if he accidentally redeemed himself by murdering all those other Overlords?
We can see just how abusive and sadistic Overlords can be towards the souls they own by looking at Val's character. If you contrast that with what we've seen in Husk/Nifty/Al's interactions, despite owning their souls and being a snarky little shit towards Husk (and scaring him a bit when he brings up Al's deal), Al never once actually hurts them and arguably provides them with a comfortable, relatively safe, and happy life in the hotel. These interactions are in present day, but we have been given no evidence to show that he ever treated them differently. On the contrary, when Al shows back up in the pilot, Husk immediately bitches at him when he is ordered to bartend - back-talking to his soul's owner with no hesitation and no fear. It stands to reason that he's comfortable doing so because Al's treatment of him has been the same since they made their deal.
In the context of hell, Al's rise to power seems to have had an accidental side effect of killing the super bad guys, saving sinners from an eternity of abuse and torture, and providing them with a much better contract. Like, *MUCH* better. No more rape, torture, druggings, mind control, etc... Al's obviously not a saint, but in this context, he may have been pretty close to hell's version of one.
If this is the case, Al obv would have *hated* being in heaven and likely immediately took it upon himself to attempt returning to hell BUT heaven obv wouldn't be cool with just letting him fall because they would *not* want hell finding out that redemption is possible. (Remember, in this scenario Al was redeemed 7 years prior to the show's pilot.) What if THAT's what his deal was? What if the deal was: either heaven just murders him on the spot -or- they allow him to fall back to hell in his original sinner form BUT ONLY if he agrees to have his angelic powers bound and is contractually sworn to silence about anything that happened during those 7 years?
This would work SO well. It would also answer a lot of questions about Al's character and actions. For example:
-Where was Al during those missing 7 years? Heaven. Likely imprisoned. -Who owns his soul? Again, heaven. Likely either Sera or an Archangel like Micheal. (I like the idea that it's Micheal, and that Mikey is Luci's twin, pouring more fuel on the fire on the immediate Al x Luci hate train.) -Why does Al state redemption is impossible as if it's a fact and not just an assumption? His deal forces him to keep redemption a secret so he is literally contract-bound to verbally disregard the idea. -Why does he still help the hotel then? Because he's pissed that heaven roped him into a deal WAY more favorable to them. Even though he can't outright state that redemption is possible, he can push Charlie's project along and hope she is the one who blows up heaven's big secret for him. It's revenge, baby! -Why does Zestial make comments about Al falling into "holy arms" when this is seemingly the first interaction between the two since Al's disappearance? Zestial suspects what happened. Maybe he witnessed Al's double-death 7 yrs ago, maybe he overheard some gossip from exorcists during an extermination, maybe something else. -Why doesn't Al use angelic weapons during his battle with Adam, especially since HE is the one who brought that knowledge to the hotel in the first place? He is overconfident because he too is actually a fallen angel, but he fails because his angelic powers are still bound. It is the pride ring after all. -Why does Al sing about "unclipping his wings" during his panic attack/loss to Adam? It's literal. He's pissed that he's been stripped of a massive boon to his power set and double-pissed that heaven seemingly has "beaten" him again. -Why does Al claim that he will be "pulling all the strings" once his wings have been unclipped? Because he is literally proof-positive redemption is possible and therefore, to his knowledge, would basically be a living weapon against heaven's authority. Remember, at this point no one is aware of Pentious' redemption.
I'm sure there's more! Anywho, my brain ran off on this tangent for some unknown reason. Al's just such a fun character to theorize about. Now, I don't believe this will actually happen in the show (it's probably a simple answer like "Lilith owns his soul, duh"), but we can dream! If any writers out there are looking for fic ideas and find my little rant interesting, PLS take this and run with it! I would LOVE to read something like this <3

Yearning for season two to give us Canon Lilith Personality™ and open the fic writer floodgates for a wider variety of Hellradio stories.
There's a lot of pure smutfic out there already, and that's all well and good if that's your thing, but the Possibilities of exploring a fucked up polycule between Hell's monarchs and our resident radio demon beyond that, and all the political implications and drama that would entail, intrigue me to no end. I'm honestly so here for it. Need it in all its Messy Glory.

Okay, I can't be the only one, who thinks it's kinda ridiculous how people hate Lilith right?
And I think it's even more hypocritical of people to hate Lilith but love Lucifer/Alastor/Adam
Now- I'm not saying you can't dislike a character, no....but we've seen this women ONCE, not counting the story/flashback
And frankly, I don't think she's done anything worthy of, you know, being hated as much as she is
"She took Charlie form lucifer" the fuck she did, im 90% sure that Charlie snuck out of bed and went to find Luci and Lilith(if it was Lilith) jsut went 'no- no. You're supposed to be asleep'
There was no clear context that Charlie was being taken away form Lucifer- not to mention even-
Okay, let's say that they did divorce, which I'm not even sure if they did, and Lilith took Charlie to live with her
She CLEARLY did not keep Charlie AWAY from Luci, we see portraits/pictures of Charlie as a kid young adult, teenager, etc, in her dad's office/home
We even see family portraits with her as a kid and teen/young adult, so the divorce was also probably not until she was already fully grown
Keep in mind, Chalrie is canonically 200 years old, or older, this divorce could've been when she was, like, 180 she probably wasn't a kid when the separated
So even if she was taking Charlie away in that scene, it clearly was not forever and honestly doesn't seem possible with the timeline
"She abandoned charlie" so did....Lucifer??
Like, she mentions him not contacting her for a long time, the one phone call she DOES get from him is about a meeting, not exactly a meaningful conversation
And if he became like this after the 'divorce', then unless lilith divorced him and then left. That probably means Charlie hasn't had a meaningful talk with her dad for longer than 7 years
Or even seen him, I forget if Charlie says that 'this is the first time I'm seeing him in years' or smth
Not to mention Charlie clearly still loves her and views her in a positive light
"Shes in heaven" Okay....we don't know why tho??
I mean, personally, I like to think she's planning war crimes against heaven and is using whatever deal she and Adam had as a cover up
But we don't know the reason, it could be a good one! it could be a shitty one! We don't know!!
We know, like, 4 things about this women and people are already hating her, and I just don't get it
Like why?? What's the reason??
And maybe im overreacting or yall havnt seen the same fans/thing I have
But I've seen people say they hate Lilith but love Lucifer, I've seen people paint her in a bad light to either have a villian/antagonist or to show Adam in a better light, or to victomize/pity Alastor
And I just don't get it, how is she worse then Alastor or Lucifer here?
Which, even if she does own Al's soul, I don't think it'd be a big deal?? Like....Alastor owns souls to, and Lilith isn't abusing her power over him(unlike Al with Husk), I think if she did own his soul, she would've stoped him from suggesting a deal/favor to Charlie
I can't be the only one who thinks like this either right?
i also personally dont want her to be a villian and i also dont want sera to be a villian either; Lute is a good enough villian
Sera ALSO gets hate, which I don't really get. Like this women is trying her best to run heaven by herself and make sure nobody dies under her care
Like this, women clearly has truama/ptsd, just as lucifer does about his falling. And for the exterminations to be fair, if I was told a bunch of rapists and serial killers were coming to my house, I'd grab the gun too!!
Doesn't mean all sinners are like that, I'm sure a lot are in hell for minor crimes, but heaven doesn't know that!
Cut her some slack man, I doubt she's had a nap in 4+ billion years
Also this isn't hate on any of the characters, I absolutely love lucifer, I just think that people needa stop painting lilith and/or sera to be the bad guy

I have a theory about who owns Alastor and it’s actually not about Lilith
Hazbin Hotel episode 5 spoilers and a wacky theory ahead
-
Stay with me for a minute. What if it isn’t Lilith who owns Alastor’s soul, but Lucifer?
I was trying to figure out why Alastor had an issue with Lucifer from the jump. I mean before Lucifer even started insulting Alastor he was glaring at him. But if he owns Alastor, then Al would be pretty pissed at him wouldn’t you think?
Also, Lucifer claims to not know who Alastor is (which I don’t buy, he has to knows who the Overlords are especially one as strong as Alastor) but then why does Alastor hate someone who claims to have never met or even heard of him before? He doesn’t even despise Vox this much.
I don’t agree that Lilith got Alastor to hate Lucifer because since when has Alastor invested himself in other people’s drama? And why would he care about the family drama of the person that owns him?
So my theory is that since Lucifer clearly isn’t the best father, and he knows it, so he commanded Alastor to go and keep an eye on his daughter. That’s also why he’d be pissed at the insinuation that Alastor has basically become a replacement dad (and explains how Lucifer knows the way to get under Alastor’s skin is to pretend to not know him and say he’s a nobody).
But how does this explain his 7 year absence.
Well I theorize Alastor was left pretty hurt after his fight with Vox. Valentino says Alastor almost killed Vox which I imagine took a lot of power to do, so Alastor is left in a position where he is not healing quick enough and probably is left nowhere near as strong as he previously was. This leaves him desperate enough to make a deal with Lucifer to heal him in exchange for his soul. And since this isn’t Alastor’s first time making a deal he makes sure to have Lucifer promise no one will ever find out, Lucifer will never speak a word.
And the first thing he has Alastor do is help him find Lilith which would explain his 7 year absence.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

In light of recent Hazbin leaks, and to distract people from them, may I offer you the first chapter of a fanfic I wrote for my sister back in March? It's spoiler free and it's basically a crack fic I wrote for fun.
(Is this self promotion? Maybe. Do I care? Not really. Might as well try to get an audience in, other than my sister.) If you like it, there's a little more on Ao3.

The Morningstar Motel
Chapter 1: Knock Knock
It’s been a few weeks since the Hazbin Hotel reopened, the whole establishment shining bigger and brighter than ever. The only thing that didn’t appear to have changed was the staff. Of course, that was true, for the most part. Husk was still toiling away behind his bar, while listening to Angel Dust complain about the piece of shit that was Valentino, and Niffty was still at war with the pests around the hotel. Not as many as before, but still prezent nonetheless.
And, even though some people were missing from the picture, life, for the most part, was back to normal. That is, if you ignore the fact that the King of Hell has taken permanent residence at his daughter’s hotel.
Lucifer, while not exactly needing to stay there, still concluded that it was for the betterment of everyone if he moved in. It wasn’t at all because he wanted to make sure a certain someone with a red monocle and an attitude stayed as far away from his precious girl as possible. No sir, certainly not the case here.
Either way, it didn’t matter because, at the end of the day, no one cared who was sitting next to them at the bar. Be it a fallen angel or a porn star, the liquor was still the same. And the bartender's not about to judge whatever happened in Lucifer’s head that prompted him to decide that living with the sinners he formerly disliked was for the best. Not his circus, not his monkeys. Especially now.
“…and then she had the audacity to call me, demanding that I give her Charlie’s number, so they could set up another audience. Like that’s gonna happen. Not on my watch!” Lucifer continued ranting about his discussion with the High Seraphim that he had that morning, all while Husk kept pouring him glass after glass of some sugary concoction that only the Morningstars appeared to be able to ingest. Honestly, that thing had to be the reason diabetes was a thing in Hell too.
Angel chimed in, apparently really interested in what the King was saying. “If this goes like last time, we might as well tear down this joint ourselves. Just to cover our bases.”
“That’s not a bad idea.”
“I know, I’m a genius.” Angel took the glass Husk offered him, taking a sip before continuing. “In all seriousness, Your Majesty, is it really that bad they wanna talk? I mean, Heaven never reached out to us before. That has to count for something, right?”
Lucifer sighed. “I suppose so. And, whether I like it or not, this is what Charlie wants. A chance to convince those stuck up holier-than-thou idiots to listen.”
Husk took this moment to join the conversation. “So you’re giving the seraph Princess’ phone number?”
Taking a gulp from his drink, Lucifer turned to the bartender. “Oh, it’s a done deal.” He swirls his drink as he talks. “Although, I did warn Sera that Charlie is busy today, so don’t bother.”
Angel snorts. “Yeah, busy going on dates.” Which was true, Charlie and Vaggie were out for the whole day. The girls were itching to go on a proper date, the first one in months, and their friends and family assured them that the hotel will still be standing by the time they return.
While the two demons and an angel were having their conversation, Alastor watched from the shadows. The Radio Demon was in no way going to interact with that group, it wasn’t in his itinerary for today. And neither was the knocking coming from the front door. Honestly, how was he the only person hearing it? It was quite loud.
Never mind that. He was the host of the hotel, so he might as well do his job and open the door, let the new guests in.
Approaching the entrance, Alastor swung the door open, his perpetual smile accompanying his already rehearsed speech. “Well hello you pitiful sinner! Welcome to the Hazbin Ho–“ The face greeting him on the other side was definitely not someone he wished to see. The word slurred out of his mouth “–Oooo…”, then he abruptly slammed the door in the guest’s face, blocking it with his whole body, to make sure it stays closed. That perpetual smile Alastor was known for dissapeared, it’s place taken by a terrified expression.
That didn’t go unnoticed by the group at the bar. Angel Dust is the first to see Alastor in his sorry state. His eyes widened as he took in the scene. Then he tapped Husk and Lucifer on their shoulders. “Guys, look.”
The King of Hell Is the first to comment on it. “Guess the world is ending again.”
Husk, while more familiar with Alador than most, is taken by surprise by the complete disappearance of the Radio Demon’s iconic grin. “That’s certainly new. What the fuck do you think he saw outside?”
Angel took a second to think of an answer, eyes still on the petrified sinner across the room. “Maybe Hell froze over. That’d be funny.”
Husk snorted, while Lucifer added “If it’s snowing outside, I’m going home to get my sled.”
The porn star speared the fallen angel a perplexed expression. “Why do you have a sled? In Hell?”
“Oh, well, you see, there is this ski resort that Lily and I used to take Charlie to in–“
“–I don’t really care right now. What I do care about is what’s hiding behind door number three.” The demon said, pointing at the Overlord.
Finally deciding that he’d rather deal with all of this at a later date, Alastor disappears in a clump of shadows, leaving the person who has ruined his day be someone else’s problem.
And, oh boy, how Lucifer wished he could do the same. But, unfortunately for him, he now has to deal with the mess left behind by the deer. Some things never change.
Downing the last of his drink, the King approached the entrance of the hotel, bracing himself before opening the door. What greeted him on the other side wasn't a blizzard, or another Exorcist army, but his wife. His estranged wife that he hasn’t seen in literal years.
“Hello, Lucifer. May I come in?”
Yup, definitely wished he could trade places with Alastor right now.

Unclip my Wings
Why use this phrase when Alastor laments the deal he is stuck in?
tl;dr: skip to midway down to So here is the Proposed Theory. I don't want to ruin the build up and you'll probably figure it out after with all the pictures I chose. It's not Lilith.
But after watching the Pilot episode of Harbin Hotel (of course I watched after I binged the entire season), I had a new appreciation for Alastor and his function at the Hotel.
But the main question we have is WHY? Why is a demon as powerful as Alastor at the Hotel in the first place? Why is he acting as the general manager? And then Husker gives up that little piece of information that Alastor is also bound to someone. Now we're asking WHO?
Who could possibly have enough power to contain a demon as strong as Alastor. Of note is seven year absence which remarkably coinsides with Lilith's disappearance. But that seems a bit too coincidental.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
During the meeting with Lucifer, Alastor's constant angry glaring at Lucifer indicates he has certain underlying issues not addressed. Then Lucifer's agressive dismal of Alastor at their first meeting. It brings to mind the quote "[He] protests too much." Then the imagry during the "Dad Beat Dad" song where Lucifer has Alastor's head on a platter, having Alastor in a frying pan, and baked in a pie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These images are blatant displays of power over the victim. And Lucifer seems to relish these images far too much, to the point displaying out right disturbing glee at having Alastor in the frying pan.
Alastor counters with needling about exactly what bothers Lucifer the most. Charlie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gaining Charlie's loyalty appears to be Alastor's primary objective. He hasn't actualy made it a secret that he would love to make a deal for Charlie's soul. In fact the Brady Bunch style picture is all about boxing Charlie in.
Which begs the question of why would Alastor want Charlie's soul? What could he possibly need such a powerful bargaining chip for? Who would do anything to free Charlie from such a deal?
We know Lucifer would.
WIthout knowing Lilith's side of the story, we're at a loss as to her choice. But the fact that she was in Heaven during this entire show thus far, gives an indication that she wants nothing to do with Hell.
Tumblr media
So Alastor is searching for a way out of his deal and he has set his sights on Charlie.
In the pilot Alastor is in the news room watching Charlie fail to generate interest in her hotel. He offers his services which Charlie turns down many times. He spends a fair amount of time staring at the portrait of the Morningstar family. He claims to want to help for the entertainment value, which is a much lighter excuse than trying to infiltrate Charlie's trust.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It ends with Charlie agreeing, but without any sort of deal being made.
The phrase "Unclip my Wings" during the final song kept bothering me. It seemed unusual for a demon to reference wings as the majority of characters with wings are Angels. (Husker is something different, more gargoyle) Besides having the excellent rhyming for the phrase "pulling all the strings" it begs the question of what if Alastor actually had wings at some point? Unlikely, but what if he had had a taste of Angelic power and wants it again. If he had Angelic powers no one could stop him from pulling the strings.
Wings are also symbols for freedom. And Alastor clearly wants his freedom more than anything.
Tumblr media
Which brings up the point of why did Alastor sell his soul in the first place? What did he possibly want so bad as to give up his freedom?
Before his disappearance Alastor was killing the major Overlords, creating power vaccums he no doubt exploited. Making him one of the most feared demons in all of Hell. How would the King and Queen of Hell react to a mortal soul beginning to rival them in power?
Wouldn't it make sense to attempt to control this Demon so that it does not upset their power?
Neither Lilith nor Lucifer appear very hands on with ruling Hell. In fact, Lucifer doesn't appear in the last battle until Adam expressly threatens Charlie and Charlie is not capable defending herself. Lucifer does apologize for not being there sooner. So why? What was holding him back from fighting alongside his daughter when he cares so much for her? Is there something that literally holds him back from interfering in the Extermination or with the ongoings of Hell in general?
If so, it would make sense to have someone else deal with the out of control demons.
Tumblr media
But he does stick around for the rebuilding of the hotel, which Alastor is absent for.
So here is the Proposed Theory
In order to get control of the disruption of Alastor killing off Overlords and to prevent Alastor from becoming so powerful as to kill Lilith or Lucifer, Lilith meets with Adam and gets the Extermination started to limit how much power Alastor can gain from collecting souls.
Meanwhile Lucifer is part of the plan, but isn't particularly thrilled. What he doesn't know is that Lilith made a deal with Adam. Nor that Lilith got to lounge around in Heaven for getting Lucifer to agree to the Extermination.
Lucifer captures the biggest threat he knows, Alastor the Radio Demon. At this point Alastor has killed all the Demon Overlords that threatened his rise to power, so it stands to reason that Lilith might have attempted to stop the rouge demon and perished.
Alastor is now caged by Lucifer and wants his freedom.
Alastor is in a position where he is willing to make a deal with the King of Hell himself.
Lucifer is a creator. We see him build rubber ducks at first then recreating the Hazbin Hotel for Charlie. He does not want any more destruction or carnage. But when Charlie starts the Hazbin Hotel to rehabilitate sinners, Lucifer wants to help, but can't.
What he does have is a powerful demon who would do anything for a taste of freedom.
Lucifer makes a deal for Alastor's soul.
The evidence?
Alastor's absolute hatred for Lucifer
Alastor seeking a deal with Lucifer's daughter
Tumblr media
Alastor gleefully gloating over Charlie's trust in him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucifer's ability to manipulate Alastor's outfit and postures
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucifer's glee at presenting Alastor's severed head
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucifer enacting violence against Alastor
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alastor not seeking retaliation
Alastor's eyes seeking his prey, making sure Lucifer knows
Tumblr media
This image where Alastor and Lucifer are nose to nose, glaring with bared teeth is perhaps the only time that Alastor's smile is close to cracking. It is also striking that Alastor's grin is nearly identical to Lucifer's in that it takes up half the face it is so large.
As Alastor said, there is no telling what is behind a smile, particularly when it is designed to confuse your enemies.
Lucifer cannot interfere with the ongoings of Hell. Lilith wants nothing to do with Hell at this point. Charlie is determined to reform sinners and Lucifer wants to protect his daughter.
Lucifer is furious that he has to rely on a demon to help his daughter when that is all he wants to do and constantly shows his superiority over Alastor whenever he gets a chance. But does not tell Charlie any of this because he doesn't want her fury or believing that her father doesn't think she can accomplish it by herself.
Not helping in the Battle against Adam until after Alastor is out of the fight, could easily be Lucifer's way of proving Alastor cannot protect Charlie. Coming in to save the day could be Lucifer proving his worth as a father.
Either way it is far to convenient for Alastor to show up when Charlie is announcing her Hotel. Alastor's soul is owned by someone who would release it should Charlie be the bargaining chip.
Tumblr media
Only time will tell what the truth is.
Here's to hoping I don't predict anything, because I want to be surprised. Which is why I watch most things because it is the HOW did it happen rather than WHAT happened that keeps me going.

I love that when Alastor actually *chooses* a rival, rather than others deciding they're rivals for him, he chooses *Lucifer.*

Chapter 11: Lilith's Wrath
This is the eleventh chapter of my Hazbin Hotel fan fiction, "Heaven is Not Forever" Radioapple and Guitarspear. You can find the other chapters on my blog.
Tumblr media
During Lute's recent visit, she hadn't realized just how immense it was. Maybe it felt bigger now because it was empty? Her heels echoed against the pale walls, adorned with divine paintings and large, watchful eyes. Those eyes were part of her creation, her guide, her protection... and yet, the apprehension gnawing at her chest remained. How could one live in Heaven with this constant fear? Perhaps it was because she was an angel, not a Winner—she was created to serve this place, not to enjoy its beauty. She was meant to protect it, to ensure that no written or moral laws were broken. She was the divine sword, the judge... or the accused?
She shuddered at the sound of wings behind her and stopped in the center of the grand hall, with its towering circular ceiling. Around her were the currently empty balconies, and in front of herbacked by the large golden double doors—was the one reserved for the Seraphim. There was no artificial light, nor any windows to let in natural light, and yet everything shone, including the figure of the High Seraphim, who landed softly before her.
Sera was tall, imposing. Her form was feminine but unnatural, with six large wings and chestnut-colored skin. She wore a flowing gown in shades of white, sky blue, and gray, and her halo resembled a crown. Lute's, on the other hand, was black and simple, like the standard uniform she wore. Her bobbed hair framed a tense face, her expression tightening into a nervous frown that deepened when Sera regarded her curiously with large blue eyes.
< Emily...? > the commander asked, glancing around. < She's not here. You'll have to make do with me, Lute, > Sera replied with soft assertiveness. < You want to talk about Adam again...? > A faint tension crept into her voice. < With all due respect, don't you care how he's doing? Aren't you going to do anything? > < And what would you have me do? > Sera's tone shifted as she placed one hand over the other at her waist. Raising her chin, she leveled a stern gaze at Lute, who was barely half her height. < Let's talk instead about how you learned he's in Hell. A tip-off from whom...? >
Lute flinched. < Do you have contacts with demons? > Sera pressed, but was met with silence. < Or do you think you can use the portal without me noticing? >
A wave of terror froze the exorcist in place. She staggered back, stunned, her mouth open as if trying to put some distance between herself and Sera, who hadn't moved but whose cold, severe gaze pierced her. < Yes... yes, I did! > Lute blurted out, finding a burst of courage, furrowing her brow and pointing to herself with her remaining hand. < But because I'm truly worried about him! Because... > She paused, pressing her lips together in a mix of anger and fear. < Because I care about him. > < Don't you care, Sera? How can you— > < Silence! > Sera's voice thundered, cutting her off. < Of course, I care, > she softened her tone to something gentle and comforting. < I care for all my children, my brothers, and sisters. I care for all of you. > She waved her long arm as if gesturing to everyone, though the room was empty. < And that is why I cannot be lenient when it comes to Divine Judgment. Adam wasn't judged by us; he died and was reborn directly into Hell. He's a demon. >
Lute took a step forward to confront her. < Emily told me about the guest at the hotel, the serpent who was reborn here as a Blessed! There's a chance Adam could be redeemed too! > At this revelation, Sera's gaze sharpened with disapproval, but she sighed and continued. < Apparently, that sinner earned Heaven just as Adam earned Hell. >
< You can't say that, Sera... I mean, with all due respect, High Seraphim, > Lute replied with the same frustration but quickly composed herself, standing at attention, her back rigid as she tried to find a tone more appropriate for the situation and her superior. < This is Adam. You know him. We can help him... maybe reevaluate our decisions. Perhaps... they weren't as correct as we thought. >
The angel turned, giving Lute her profile as she began to pace—or rather, float—around the room, her gown's hem fluttering just above the floor. < Not correct, you say? I know more... > She paused, bowing her head—her long gray curls cascading—and resting a hand on her forehead as if suddenly struck by a headache. < I know he harbored a demon in Heaven for years... >
Lute went pale. Did she know it was Lilith, or were her insights incomplete? Fear took hold of her again, as if all the apprehension she had felt for months was about to boil over. Was this the moment everything would come crashing down? Ever since the Extermination... had she been waiting for this moment all along? < How long...? > Lute swallowed hard. < I've known for some time, and... > Sera froze, shooting her a piercing glance. < I know that you knew too. >
< Why didn't you do anything? Why didn't you stop it...? > The angel didn't answer immediately. She turned toward Lute, her cold gaze softening into an intense sorrow—a regret so vivid that Lute herself felt it weigh down on her. < Because I cared about Adam too, > Sera admitted, gently spreading her arms. < We all did. >
At that exact moment, to Lute's astonishment, the room began to fill with angels of the highest hierarchy: Thrones, Powers, Dominions. Born from beams of light, they flew toward the many balconies, each taking their place. The High Seraphim flapped her wings vigorously, ascending above the others to her rightful place as chief judge. She left Lute standing in the center of the hall, a small figure on the floor decorated with the enormous image of a ghostly eye.
Lute felt tiny, overwhelmed by a sense of loneliness and guilt. Had she made a mistake? Of course she had. Was this to be her day of judgment? Along with the guilt came anger—the frustration of knowing they wouldn't listen. She knew how trials worked: they had already made up their minds. That's why Sera had granted her request for this meeting.
With that last thought, all her tension drained away. She felt empty, devoid of any emotion except helplessness. < ...Lute, > Sera's voice brought her back to reality. Her hands still clasped at her waist, the angel stood motionless like an inhuman statue, staring down from the high court. Below her, the numerous balconies were filled with other angels. < This trial accuses you of being complicit in Adam's conspiracy against Heaven, > she announced. < What do you have to say in your defense? >
Lute looked around. Every angel's eyes were on her—some curious, some puzzled—but Sera's gaze... it was heavy. Why didn't you call Emily? Are you afraid of being contradicted? You bastard. Damn you.
She clenched her fist. < I'm guilty, > she declared, standing tall and lifting her chin, shocking the entire court. < Guilty of wanting to protect someone I care about, even at the cost of my duties... > She paused, her voice steady with the same passion that had always driven her. < ...of the good of Heaven, of the established order. > Her words rang with pride—pride she wouldn't let falter. It was all over. Adam was lost. She was lost.
Sera's gaze grew even colder, more distant, as if a wall of light had risen around her—light that swirled, opening countless blue eyes across her hair, forehead, chest, and robes. At that moment, it seemed every part of her was connected to the divine, as though she herself were made of pure mystical energy. < Based on this confession, with my authority as High Seraphim, I hereby sentence you to be cast out of Heaven. The Golden Gates will be closed to you forever, Lute. >
At these final words, terror exploded within Lute, shattering like the metallic clink of something falling to the ground. She looked down. Her black halo had fallen. She shuddered and raised her golden eyes once more to seek out Sera, only to find herself surrounded by a dozen sisters, hovering in the air, masked and with spears aimed at her.
I'm scared.

" < If you get yourself killed again, I'll drag you out of the Primordial Evil by the neck. > "
Lute's voice echoed in Adam's head just as Lilith's eyes flared with dark, black energy. All the exhaustion, pain, and the damn effects of her voice surged into a burst of fiery rage and strength. Tensing every muscle in his left arm, he tore through the enchanted ropes binding his wrist, bringing it up as a shield over his head just in time to block the spear.
The spear and part of its shaft pierced through the flesh and bone of his forearm, the tip stopping just shy of his forehead, right between his wide, blackened eyes. He stared in horror as a thin stream of blood trickled from a small scratch and then began dripping heavily from the spear.
Lilith's face had twisted into a demonic mask, radiating suffocating, cursed energy. Adam heard her growl, baring her sharp canines, and he channeled all that adrenaline—numbing his body to the pain—into the spear.
He pushed against it, forcing the weapon, and with it, Lilith, backward, slamming her into the wardrobe with such force that the doors shattered, sending her crashing noisily inside.
Panting heavily, Adam clenched his jaw, his face a mask of blood, sticky enough to glue his hair to his ram-like horns. He rolled onto his hands and knees, bracing himself with his right hand. < Fuck, I came way too close that time... > he muttered as he glanced at the door. The exit. He had to get out. He needed to get out of there.
Grimacing, he conjured his leathery wings, the sudden rush of air causing the TV to wobble dangerously. He dashed toward the door, ready to ram through it if he had to. But just as he was a mere foot away, Lilith's form reassembled amid swirling shadows, an amused, aggressive grin on her face as she raised the spear once again, aiming it at him.
< Where do you think you're going, little bug? ♫ > Her voice was singsong.
< !! > Adam felt the searing pain of all his wounds hitting him at once, just as the tip of the spear impaled his left shoulder, piercing straight throug
...
Meanwhile, Lucifer and Alastor were on their way back.
The Seraph was grinning from ear to ear, radiating joy as he chatted with the demon, who listened silently, his own ever-present grin plastered on his face. Though his mouth was closed, there was something genuine in the half-deer demon's smile, as his mismatched red eyes were focused on Lucifer's lively gestures, the angel even waving his apple-topped cane in the air.
< Ahh, I'm stuffed with all those sweets Rosie gave me... > Lucifer sighed, patting his vest over his stomach with a comically exaggerated exhaustion. < Delicious, I must say! >
< ...? > Alastor's smile faltered briefly. < Sweets? > he asked, his ears twitching slightly as a lightbulb seemed to go off in his head. < Ohhh! The sweets... of course~ > he teased, his voice laced with a playful radio static. < I hate to burst your bubble, Your Majesty, but I've got some bad news for you... > His smile stretched wider, but just as Lucifer stepped onto the first step leading to the hotel, his expression froze, eyes wide as if struck by a sudden jolt of electricity.
< What's wrong...? > Alastor barely got the question out when Lucifer shot him a glance, filled with palpable apprehension, before quickly conjuring a golden portal and stepping through it, sealing it shut behind him.
Alastor was left standing there, his smile frozen on his lips, eyes wide as he glanced up at the towering structure of the hotel in front of him. As his gaze reached the sign perched at the top, a strange, familiar fear crept over him, so thick it made him let out a distorted radio hiss.
Just as he began to melt into the shadows with his staff in hand, Charlie flung open the door. < You're back—! > She squealed with excitement, but her voice trailed off as the sinner vanished right in front of her eyes.
Tumblr media
Adam was literally crawling toward the window—it was his only shot. One arm was completely useless, and he was dragging himself across the floor with the other, scraping his knees against the ground, smearing it with the blood still pouring from his two wounds. The pain was excruciating, and Lilith's voice behind him—humming a twisted lullaby—was tearing apart any last shred of sanity he had left. She followed him step by step with the calm of someone who knew her prey could never escape.
< How pathetic you are. >
< Go to... hell, you blonde... bitch. > Adam spat, his words coming out in ragged breaths.
With a single long stride, Lilith positioned herself between his legs, raised her right arm, and pointed the blood-soaked spearhead directly at his back. She licked her violet lips with a wicked smile.
< Goodbye, First Man. >
...
< LILITH! >
Lucifer's voice froze the spear mid-air—literally. A thin layer of ice crackled over the weapon, burning Lilith's fingers until she dropped it to the ground.
Lilith took a few steps back, locking eyes with the Seraphim as he appeared in a flash of light. He stood tall, framed by the window, just inches from Adam's bloodied hands. Lucifer's wide, crimson eyes, void of pupils, dimmed and shifted to a stunned gold. He blinked several times before lowering his gaze in disbelief toward Adam, sprawled on the floor.
< What—what's going on here? > he asked, uncertainty in his voice.
Adam let out a weak, bitter laugh. < Guess the plot armor finally showed up, > he muttered.
Lucifer shot him a sharp glare. < Okay, shutting up, > Adam grumbled, gripping the floor in an attempt to push himself up.
< I'm just cleaning up our mess, like I said I would, > Lilith replied smoothly, though her eyes blazed with the same fury that made her long blonde hair sway in a non-existent wind.
< In the hotel? You were going to kill him here, with... with... > Lucifer glanced at the spear on the ground in disgust and fear. < ...that? > < You're putting everyone at risk. >
< There's no risk, > she countered coolly, < he's just a demon now, and he's almost dead. Look for yourself. >
Lilith took an exaggerated step forward, pressing her bare foot into Adam's gaping shoulder wound. He collapsed back to the ground with a groan.
< Fucking hell! > Adam spat out blood. < Talk about marital bliss, huh? > He clawed at the floor with his good hand.
< Lilith, > Lucifer called again, circling Adam's limp form with hesitant steps. < It's... it's not necessary anymore. >
He forced a strained smile, one meant to calm her down, waving his hands, even the one holding his staff. But her eyes were as cold as the ice that had coated the spear.
< Not necessary? > Lilith raised an eyebrow, her voice sharp with disapproval. < He canceled the Extermination, blackmailed you, and tried to kill Charlie! >
< ...but Charlie has... uh, forgiven him? She let him stay here, even though I... didn't want to... >
At those words, Adam felt a pang—something like loneliness, or gratitude? God, he never thought he'd find himself thanking the heavens—or maybe hell—for Lucifer being there... and actually on his side? Was this for real?
Meanwhile, Alastor had been sneaking through the shadows of the hallways, trying to avoid the others who were all in a panic after his sudden disappearance. Charlie, especially, was likely impossible to calm down at this point.
The hotel had so many rooms, far too many floors, most of them still vacant with no guests to fill them yet. But then, Alastor found himself there, in the long red-and-black corridor leading to Adam's room. His grip tightened around his cane, his smile anything but serene. He perked up his ears at the sounds and voices from inside the room—they were in there.
He continued toward the door until he stood just a few feet away, recognizing the muffled voices of Lucifer and... Lilith? A crackle of static echoed from his radio-like interference.
< Things have changed, yes, but we'll find another solution... can we talk about it? > Lucifer's smile was sharp but sweet, a plea as he looked up at his wife from his shorter height.
< Talk about it?! > Lilith hissed, suddenly snapping her wide, furious eyes toward the closed door. Alastor, standing on the other side, froze. < We'll talk, my little angel, ♫ > she sang, masking Alastor's presence. She pulled her blood-soaked foot off Adam's wounded shoulder, allowing him to let out a shaky gasp.
Tumblr media
At that exact moment, Alastor heard the metallic clang of something falling at his feet. He barely had time to glance down and see that it was the lower part of his staff—split in two just as the ex-commander had severed it during the last extermination—when the upper half, microphone included, crumbled between his fingers into dust.
He froze—not just from the sudden, terrible realization stabbing through his mind, but because... he was trapped! The violet collar of his pact lit up around his neck, cutting off his breath...
...and Adam, with a monstrous snarl that twisted his face into something bestial, lunged forward. In a blur of speed and fury he hadn't displayed before—at least not in his Sinner form—he grabbed the spear from the ground. Black matter streamed from his eyes as he shot toward the room's entrance, aiming the blood-stained blade at the door. With a violent thrust, he drove it straight through the wood, sending the spear's tip bursting out the other side.
Everything happened in an instant, right under Lucifer's wide-eyed gaze.
< ..what the— >
The spear smashed through the door, completely ripping it off its hinges and slamming into Alastor, driven by Adam's massive frame.
Alastor barely had time to lift his ash-covered hands before he registered the door crashing toward him. His pupils shrank to tiny dots, eyes wide as the spear tore through his chest, emerging from his back and pinning him against the corridor wall.
From inside the room, Lucifer stood frozen, watching in shock as Alastor coughed up blood, the door disintegrating on impact. Adam, entirely consumed by his rage, bled the same black viscous matter from his jaws. He growled again, shoving the demon harder against the wall, driving the spear deeper, until the ice burning his hand snapped the blade in two.
Tumblr media
By now, the commotion had spread throughout the entire hotel. Charlie, Vaggie, Husk, Angel Dust, and Niffty were desperately searching for Alastor. Charlie had become convinced he was somewhere inside the building, and something told her he was in Adam's room. She wasn't as naïve as they thought; all these oddities, these secrets, had started the moment Adam arrived. Was it her fault all of this was happening? Should she not have forced her father to take him in?
As Charlie, followed closely by Vaggie armed with her angelic spear, raced down the stairs, she suddenly heard her father's voice.
< ALASTOR! >
His shout echoed from the end of the hallway, just as a fiery explosion erupted, sending Adam flying down the corridor at terrifying speed, the force shaking the walls.
The towering figure of the First Man shot past Charlie, narrowly missing her as Vaggie tackled her out of the way. Husk and Angel Dust pressed themselves against the wall to avoid him, while Niffty looked up with wide eyes.
< Whoooa, what a ride! > she giggled, spinning her cyclopean head in the direction Adam flew, crashing into a door several feet away from where Lucifer stood, his small figure at a distance as he darted toward Alastor.
< Dad! > Charlie cried in alarm, scrambling to her feet and running toward the two of them. From the now-doorless room, Lilith vanished in a wisp of ghostly fire.
A violet shimmer flickered in Charlie's eyes for a brief moment, but she was forced to refocus on her father, who was now hunched over Alastor, lying still on the ground. The Radio Demon wasn't moving. His body had left a long, bloody smear on the wall, and that same blood was pooling on the floor beneath him.
Charlie sprinted forward, but she and Vaggie were forced to stop abruptly as the intense heat radiating from Lucifer became unbearable. Both girls shielded their eyes from the scorching wave that burned their skin.
< What's happening... Dad! > Charlie cried out, squinting through the searing light to see the spear lying on the floor. < Alastor! Oh my God, Alastor! > she panicked, stamping her feet in desperation. < He's hurt, he's hurt! Dad, let me get to him!! >
Charlie was frantic, stomping her feet in place as the heat melted the wallpaper and dimmed the lights along the walls, plunging that specific part of the hallway into a deep, eerie darkness.
A darkness that also filled the screen, which moments before had been broadcasting the corridor's scene. Vox, sitting in his swivel chair, stared wide-eyed at the flickering static as the signal cut out in his Control Room.
Lucifer, now fully transformed, seemed oblivious to everything. Flames blazed between his curved horns, and his eyes were devoid of pupils. Every part of him, even his clothes, was covered in spectral yellow eyes that writhed like his tail, which ended in a sharp black spear.
The sudden appearance of his six feathered wings sent out a shockwave that knocked Husk and Angel Dust backward as they tried to reach him. Niffty, on the other hand, had already darted over to where an unconscious Adam lay, far down the hall.
< Dad, please! I'm begging you! I care about Alastor too, we all do! > Charlie cried out, collapsing to the floor where she had fallen. But Lucifer only leaned over Alastor, wrapping him protectively in his wings, hiding them both from view in a soft embrace.
A cone of darkness surrounded them, then lit up with a vibrant, laser-like golden light that hummed with a strange sound. That same sound cut through the sky outside the hotel, bright enough to be seen from the windows overlooking the courtyard.
The explosion that followed shook the building violently, sending dust tumbling down onto Charlie's head. She curled up, wrapping her arms around her skull, gasping in desperation.
< What the fuck is happening now!? >
