Born in Oulu, Finland with a silver spoon in one’s mouth. As a young mistress of Korhenen she had everything like a general mistress has, whether it be appearance, good at sports, being the top 1 of the class and beloved of many friends. Even she had a happy life in school, A family who always supported her and a wealthy but what Kettu actually need was something which she couldn’t explain. It was ‘challenge’.

At the age of 18 she joined the military, Finnish Defence Foreces. With her small physical size and not quite good at close combat with a large fighter or muscle fighter made her unsuitable candidate for tactical assault unit. Later she was joined Karelia Brigade as a marksman to backup team. Mostly Kettu likes to stealth or surprise attack from behind enemies because of avoid to confront them with different size. Also she is the fastest movements and good at hiding like a fox hunting the pray.

In 2022, She was later in EU Battlegroup. She assigned to backup the insertion specialist team which took down an Al-Qatala cell in Berlin. And that’s how Kettu and König have met for the first time she eliminated an AQ Fighter who trying attack König from behind he appreciated her at the first sight that she saved him. From that day they almost in the same team and missions. Ketttu always greeting and talking first made König feels more comfortable and relaxing from anxiety and stresses when she near him. alright so this is a bit hard to explain, bear with me. undedicated musings is an anonymous newsletter-based poetry... publication? run by me, under the pen name 'chartreuse', and the whole shtick is that i write poetry, love letters, and whatever else to the person i'll end up spending my life with, but the recipient of said writings is completely unknown, even to me, so im kinda just writing to nobody. until! i actually set my eyes on someone (obviously rsl) and then the writings start to get a bit more specific and yearn-y and personal. since the recipient is anonymous, all the writings are written for a 'vermillion'. both chartreuse and vermillion's identities are revealed when we get married in 1993. and no, rsl doesn't know that i'm chartreuse, nobody does until i reveal myself. i think its kinda cool :3

(1988-1989)

so for starters, i was part of the crew that worked on the set of dead poets society, now all my friends (except kimya, her and i become friends in the late 90s) make sense! my actual job on set is kind of a vague be-here-and-do-a-bit-of-everything type deal, so there's no set title beyond "assistant to lead" even tho it's essentially government assigned 'friendship' LMAO. but! me and the cast get on like a house on fire, so i kinda just get to tag along on their wacky teenage-ish boy adventures. this totally does not stem from a desire to be part of a teenage boy friend group, and i am, in fact, totally cisgender. i am also lying. anyway, without going into too much detail, me and my s/o-not-yet-s/o (will be referring to him as rsl from this point on) sorta have a painstakingly long will they wont they type deal, because i guess i like torturing myself. we meet a day before all the actual film stuff starts just as a sort of preliminary get to know eachother because you'll be in close proximity VERY often for months. thats some time in march - june-ish? of 1988 (i shift to my dr the day before!) and we don't actually get together until june of 1989. so.

also! some changes to the movie because i can make those: knox overstreet is now played by matthew lillard instead of josh charles, because josh charles is a fucking zionist and i dont want to associate with him in any reality! knox also isnt a b plot to the movie at all, instead focusing on meeks and pitts because i find them much more interesting! and also knox's b plot is creepy as hell! also, the racism against natives (read this!) is completely gone! no thanks!

music based - MAURZI

(1988-2004 technically)

strap in boys because this is the main event of this dr and the lore is VAST. MAURZI (must be spelled in all caps, like MF DOOM) is a sort of musical person/character i've made to tell the story of via a series of albums. i release my first single in october of 1988 titled "lunarian", which is a fun little song about a being from the moon arriving on earth and having some inter-planetary culture shock. and thats the only song i've actually planned! i release 6 total albums that map out the MAURZI storyline kinda

now here's where you get the very extensive MAURZI lore. MAURZI is a sort of alternate-universe representation of me, where in i'm much more famous than i actually am in my dr, and i am absolutely RUINED by my fame in a fuck ton of ways. each album is a different section of her life so i'll explain it album by album. also for reference, in my dr capitalism/ currency isnt a thing, but in the MAURZI... verse? it is. because i like anti capitalist art! same goes for most other media im in/ participate in, actually. MAURZI uses she/her pronouns btw, i dont.

MAURZI - my self-titled album is about as close and personal to my life as i'll get, which an average amount because i still throw in some songs about shit that i have not at all done/ experienced. (ex. songs about cheating, toxic relationships, and things along those lines. thankfully ive had a mostly healthy relationship with relationships! except that one time!) MAURZI is new to the music scene but she's here to make some lovely tunes to help process some stuff! artists im taking inspiration from include (but are not limited to): sarah kinsley, dodie, jeff buckley, tv girl, mitski, and peach pit.

GONE TO SHIT! - MAURZI's first album blew the fuck up! now she's thrown into the midst of dealing with an incomprehensible amount of attention on her at all times, which she was absolutely not prepared for. what does she do to cope? sex drugs and rock n roll, baby! she also gets addicted to 2 outta those 3 things! can you guess which ones?? now, obviously, this album is entirely fictional and is only tangentially inspired by some life events, heavy emphasis on the tangentially. artists im taking inspiration from include (but are not limited to): the nonstick pans, panic! at the disco, forest, david bowie, chappel roan, and king gizzard & the lizard wizard.

Charmed - the love song album! this is basically comprised of songs i sorta wrote about rsl, but changed up a fuck ton because i wrote them while i was pining and did Not want him to knkw who they were about. in terms of MAURZI stuff, she meets someone just after deciding that she's gotta clean up her act if she wants to exist healthily. recovering alongside a loved one and them being a motivator for recovery! now i should specify here that MAURZI's s/o is not the same as mine, and is entirely gender neutral/ doesn't even have a canon(?) human appearance at all. they're named Vermillion because we love a callback! artists im taking inspiration from include (but are not limited to): the smiths, siouxsie and the banshees, james blake, queen, laufey, and her's.

I found Him in Santa Barbara - yknow how when a banana ripens too much and it starts to tuen brown? yeah imagine that logic but applied to recovery, i guess. NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO REITERATE THAT MAURZI AND I ARE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND MAURZI IS JUST A CHARACTER. essentially MAURZI had a spiritual awakening and "found god." but what that ACTUALLY means is that she started viewing vermillion as a sort of god? but she's keeping it on the down low (making an album about it) because she doesn't want vermillion to thing she's CRINGE. themes of loving a god, being IN love with a god, being in lust with a god, temporarily thinking youre a god? stuff along those lines. its a bit intense, VERY experimental and.. heavy? both in themes and in musical style for some portions. this is my fav album out of all of them if you couldnt tell. artists im taking inspiration from include (but are not limited to): sleep token, WILLOW, type o negative, slipknot, lemon demon (specifically songs off spirit phone), hozier, violent vira, pierce the veil, gorillaz kinda, bjork, kate bush, deftones, destroy boys, and rammstein probably.

Waterworks - so yknow how MAURZI was having a whole trouble with god moment? yeah well thats gone now, no i haven't figured out how that'll work narratively, thats for me to figure out in like 10 years from now (now being 1988, naturally.) we've returned to our self-titled roots in terms of musical style! now we've just got some fun themes of trauma and such! and then that's the and of MAURZI as a character story wise, as i said earlier the album after this one is just a Me album. same artist inspo as self titled!

and guess what! music lore isnt even fuckin done! my music in this dr is a multiverse in itself goddamn. so basically the album covers for each album tell a completely seperate story about a completely seperate alter ego/ character/ whatever named Moonzi. name given by my audience (which is my excuse for coming up with such a shitty name and then keeping it.) the story of moonzi, without going into too much detail because i dont wanna type it all out, is a sci-fi type story about a being from the moon (lunarian callback!) on a quest to bring this space artifact back to its original place, basically. a bit more on it later, emphasis on a bit. also! each album cover is drawn by a different artist, and each album artist animates one official music video off their respective album, just cuz i like art and stuff! those music videos kinda follow the moonzi storyline loosely, but incorporate MAURZI elements. is this confusing? hope not. drawings!

If there were one word he'd use to describe himself, it would be hardy. He's used to pushing himself to do whatever it takes to survive, even when doing things that others consider crazy. MacCready is sarcastic, stubborn, and guarded—he doesn't trust easily.

MacCready and intimacy:

He misses physical intimacy and closeness and longs for that connection again but struggles to communicate it. Insecurity eats at MacCready; he feels guilty about moving on with his life and letting go of Lucy.

When MacCready does allow himself to get close to someone, the things that draw him to you aren't lost on him. How your presence brings him a sense of peace and makes him forget about all the problems in his life, if only for a while, how you make him smile when he wants nothing more than to cry, and how you somehow always manage to look at him with such kindness, even when he feels he doesn't deserve it.

MacCready finds sleep with a new partner extremely difficult. After losing Lucy the way he did, having trouble falling asleep is now a side effect of his traumatic experiences. He often wakes up in the middle of the night, unable to fall back asleep, and if his companion stirs, he's instantly wide awake, unable to keep his eyes off them.

He tells himself it's because he's trying to protect them, but he knows deep down that part of him can't stop wondering what it would be like to lose another loved one in a heartbeat. To find himself alone yet again... and being alone scares the heck out of him.

MacCready can be very vulnerable at night, especially after a nightmare. When he comes back to his senses, it takes a moment for the memories to fade away. Once they do, he gets flustered and tries to push his nightmares out of his head. He doesn't want his partner to see him as weak and break down.

As MacCready starts trusting you, he eventually reveals his troubles. He's more willing to seek support rather than deal with everything alone. He may still shy away from physical contact or withdraw after the initial breakdown. Once MacCready starts opening up, he slowly becomes more comfortable, allowing you to show affection and comfort him.

An ongoing conflict with himself is his attraction to men, which he has repressed for many years, believing that acknowledging it would question his marriage to Lucy. In MacCready's eyes, you either like women or men and not both. So, the fact that he harbors these feelings of attraction to men makes him feel guilty, ashamed, and, most of all, confused about his identity.

with a keen eye for detail,  a good eye for both what the people want and whatever problems his friends may be facing,  kihyun can be considered a generally good person to be around.  he’s everywhere and nowhere all at the same time,  an ebbing and flowing tide that can go from livening up a dampened mood with ever-enthusiastic and always-sunny disposition to sitting quietly and doing his best to provide whatever advice a struggling member of his may be needing when they confide in him about the things that’re on their mind.  he lives for the adrenaline of idol life,  the instant rush of endorphins that he gets from the performances,  the practice sessions,  the photoshoots,  the concerts—so much so that sometimes he gets swept up in it all,  loses focus and stumbles;  starts to skip out on responsibilities,  sneak off and make excuses all while searching for the next dopamine hit.  his friends have usually been there to keep him in check,  but it’s still something he needs to work on.

in the moments where kihyun himself isn’t feeling the best,  he’s not the most eager to let anybody know.  similar to his approach to conflict,  he prefers to breeze over any lingering feelings of inferiority or insecurity and pretend they’re not there—either hoping they fade away with time or coping with them in ways that most wouldn’t consider the healthiest.  bottling everything up  (although it may seem like an odd thing for a ‘hyper-sensitive’ pisces to do)  is by far one of his worst habits,  but as he grows more he’s making more and more of an effort to work on it—that effort of course being assisted by his closest friends,  the members themselves.  where he would usually pick more detrimental things to help him cope with whatever he was feeling inside,  kihyun now tries to pour it all into a creative outlet—namely music,  or dance.  he’s come far from when he was thirteen and desperately looking for reasons not to drop out of the company altogether,  and in the future he hopes to go even further.

born on a cold morning on the fourth of march two thousand and one  ( 04 / 03 / 2001 ),  kihyun was the first child of a young mother struggling to make ends meet  (and who would later be labelled a ‘prostitute’ in rumours spread in early twenty eighteen,  seeing as their small flat was nestled right outside the infamous ‘capital alley,’ a known red light district—rumours that would never be addressed by sm and left to be speculated about)  and an unknown father,  who kihyun never heard of again except in spiteful passing remarks made by his grandmother,  who lived with them in their two-bedroomed apartment.  despite their living situation,  kihyun was mostly a happy child at home,  always appreciating the love he was given,  the roof over his head,  and the food on his plate that he rarely had to go without.  problems only really started to arise when he started at school.

school and kihyun did not get along in the slightest.  making friends wasn’t the problem—he was a social butterfly if you’d ever seen one,  drawing people in like magnets with a smile and a joke whispered behind his hand that had a way of making people feel as if they were special,  as if all of his attention was focused on them—it was the education itself.  the lessons were too hard;  words swimming off of the pages,  numbers twisting themselves up into unintelligible shapes and floating off into the air around him,  and none if it seemed to stick.  kihyun loathed it from the start,  and it only seemed to get worse as the years went on.  on the fifteenth of september two thousand and nine  ( 15 / 09 / 2009 )  his younger half-brother seonmin was born—to a father that,  although wasn’t his own,  he was able to get to know;  but a man his mother still wouldn’t commit to,  still wouldn’t marry,  someone who he only got to see from time to time,  and suddenly there was one less person to talk to about the words that made his head ache and the numbers that made his eyes water.  he became a lot closer to his grandmother in the years following,  moving from his mother’s bedroom to hers and cuddling close to her in the evenings when she let him stay up far later than he was usually allowed with a wink and a finger to her lips as she switched the tv channel to the music shows.

from the very first night he saw the idol groups,  the men and women dancing in all their perfectly synchronised glory,  hair perfectly styled and no blemishes to be found,  kihyun was hooked.  he had found his dream.  one that,  from the looks of it,  had far less of all the numbers and letters he hated so much.  his mother  (and baby brother,  even if he couldn’t understand a word)  had burst into laughter when he told them of his newfound goal,  but kihyun was adamant,  and his grandmother had faith in him too.  he started to learn all the words,  memorise all the steps,  until every day after school he was dancing around the apartment belting out SHINee and f(x) songs until his throat was hoarse. he knew what he wanted to do,  and where he wanted to go.  sm entertainment was the company that housed most of his favourites,  some of what people called the ‘greats’ in the industry at the time,  and so that was where he set his sights.  he was going to get in,  and  (hopefully)  get famous.

a late afternoon in april twenty thirteen  ( 10 / 04 / 2013 )  was when he did it.  he got a leg-up from one of his friends out of the school gates and ran all of the way to the train station,  paying for a train ticket with the pocket money he’d been saving up for months.  he asked around for directions until he finally found the place the audition was being held,  did all of the things the vaguely frightening people dressed in their business casual asked him to do,  tried not to feel too much like a circus clown while he was performing,  and then held his breath when it was over.  and by some miracle conjured up by the stars above,  kihyun managed to make it through.  he tried not to cheer aloud out of fear the option would be taken back when the company told him he could drop out of school to fully focus on training if he so wished,  neglected to tell his mother he’d been accepted for a little while in fear she wouldn’t approve  (and was pleasantly surprised when she only told him that she’d better be seeing him on tv in a few years time),  high-fived his grandmother with a wide grin on his face,  and packed up the little things he had to make the official move to seoul.  there he trained for three years,  until he was finally told that  (along with seven others,  seven fast friends he was glad to have made)  he was set to debut.  nct dream,  their subunit was going to be called,  and the rest was history.

Just speaking to the void, but I was fangirling as I rewrote one of my chapter to my Daminette fic and I cannot get over what good parallels there are between Marinette and Damian.

Like, Marinette's this sweet, kind, caring, talented, silly, goofy, clumsy girl who had to grow up too fast. All she wanted to do was survive school, maybe get a boyfriend, have a good time with her friends, and nurture her growing talent and prestige in the fashion world. She loves her parents and family, and she is this exuberant, friendly gal who makes friends with just about everyone. Then, she's given this huge responsibility of being a hero and having to learn how to fight and lead and protect everyone and everything from ultimate destruction, all while keeping her secret identity and constantly feeling like a failure in both her superhero and civilian life. Before being LB, she slept in because she was a heavy sleeper and she stayed up too late being inspired to design, or playing video games with her parents, or doing homework like your average preteen girl. After she became LB, being a superhero took over her regular life. There was no balance. Then came losing Master Fu. Then came Lila, making Marinette's life horrible as a civilian to the point she could become akumatized- which she can't because she's LB. And then her friend- who she became a superhero for- all but abandons her for Lila and makes excuses for her even after learning Marinette's LB. Marinette gains a lot when she became LB- her confidence, a partner, a new love, power, respect, integrity- but I would argue that she lost that much more- Master Fu, her friends (to an extent and bc of Lila), her childhood, her teen years, her normal life, Luka as her boyfriend, a peaceful night's sleep- I could honestly go on. She was an abnormally talented, kind, wonderful girl who would grow up to rule the fashion world if given the chance, and then she had to change when she became LB. She grew up fast and was burdened with a power and responsibility that she never wanted in the first place, and her normal life began to fall apart.

And then there's Damian who grew up with all these expectations to be the next leader of the League of Assassins and was groomed his whole life to rule the world with his immortal (immoral) grandfather at his side. He was taught how to be the perfect assassin since he was born. He was expected to be the perfect offspring of Talia al Ghul and Bruce Wayne/Batman, the world's greatest detective. And he loses everything he's ever known at the young age of ten- his grandfather, his mother as she take over the League, everything he's ever known- and is sent to his father, who he's heard so much about because, despite everything that happened between them, Ra's al Ghul and Talia both have huge respect for Bruce/Batman, and this ten year old assassin is faced with his great father hating who he is and what he was trained to do. Damian starts out with the batfam hating every minute of it. He thinks he's in the right, that they're soft and unwilling to do what it takes to protect the world by taking out the ones who threaten it. He scoffs at his father's rules that all life should be protected and to never kill another, no matter how much you think they deserve it. It goes against everything the League taught him, everything he's ever known, and he spends his childhood learning and failing and learning again how precious life is and how the League and everything he grew up learning is as evil as some of the villains they put behind bars. He becomes a vegetarian and adopts a cow, a dog, a cat. He plays video games and learns that he likes to draw. He goes to school and suffers a mundane life every kid his age goes through. He finds a family and friends and a team falls in love. He spends the second half of his childhood learning how to become a hero instead of a dictator, and it changes him for the better.

And when you put them together, the parallels in their stories and personalities really play off each other well. She had the world at her feet and became restricted as she became a hero. He was restricted to be exactly who his grandfather and mother expected him to be and the world opened up to him when he left them behind. They both suffered and grew up despite everything standing in their way, and I think that creates a strong bond between them when they get to know each other.

(It's also hilarious thinking about how they would handle the other's situation. Like Marinette would absolutely become the favorite child in the Wayne household if that's how she became a hero. And then Damian would take over the League and run the world if that's how he became a hero, which wouldn't be good exactly, but he would likely learn over time (I think))

Ylenia Carrisi was a 23-year-old woman who went missing in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana on January 6, 1994. 5'7 and 120 lbs, she was a tall slim woman with strawberry blonde hair and green eyes. Ylenia was the daughter of Al Bano, a famous Italian singer and Romina Power, an American singer who would later form a group with Al Bano. Ylenia's grandparents were Tyrone Power, a famous actor from 1930's and Mexican actress Linda Christian.

Al Bano and Romina were often referred to as the Sonny and Cher of Italy. Ylenia was practically born in the public eye.

When she was around 13 she would star with her parents in a film called Champagne in Paradiso.

When Ylenia was 24, she became a household name when she appeared on the Italian version of the American show Wheel of Fortune. She was so successful in her role that she was deemed the Italian "Vanna White."

However, Ylenia wanted to be more than just a pretty face on television. She aspired to be a novelist. She had been attending college in London and majoring in literature, when she decided to take a sabbatical and go backpacking through America for inspiration. She spends some time in the small village of Hopkins in Belize before going to New Orleans.

"The Mafia at the time was kidnapping kids, especially kids from famous families, so they wanted Ylenia to live somewhere else," a friend said.

In the summer of 1993, she takes a trip to New Orleans, Louisiana with her parents and becomes enamored with the city. She found inspiration for the novel she planned to write, which she intended to be a gritty account of the down and out life of the street musicians in New Orleans. She spends the next few months mulling over this idea.

While in New Orleans, she had met a street musician - 54-year-old cornet player Alexander Masakela. She strikes a friendship with him. While her parents continue to travel, Ylenia decides she wants to stay in New Orleans longer.

who was known for playing trumpet in the French Quarters, a bustling tourist area. She checked into Le'Dale hotel with Alexander, which is a popular hotel for travelers because it was only five blocks from the popular French Quarter. Alexander was known as a "yarn-spinner with a penchant for charming young women." He often made friends with young women traveling around New Orleans.

Ylenia asked for a room with two beds. The hotel manager who checked them in didn't get a romantic vibe from them, saying they just seemed to be helping each other out. People say that she really tried to throw herself into the culture, to learn more about the people she was writing about.

On January 6, 1994, Ylenia leaves the hotel alone at about 11am. She was wearing a long floral print dress and a waist-length jacket to head to the French Quarter.

And from there, she just vanishes. No one that week noticed her disappearance. It was only when Alexander showed Ylenia's hotel passport to hotel staff and attempted to pay the room bill with an unendorsed traveler's check and was consequently evicted, did anyone notice something was wrong.

Alexander asked hotel staff if they could keep some stuff behind the desk for a few hours and handed over a backpack, but he never returned to retrieve it. This would turn out to be Ylenia's backpack filled with all of her clothing, her personal items, including her passport, camera and notebooks.

She was finally reported missing by her parents on January 18, when they hadn't heard from her since New Year's Day. They were back in Italy by that time.

Not much is known about the initial police investigation, but they did question Alexander, who said he was never romantically or sexually involved with Ylenia, saying she rebuffed his advances and that he didn't know where she was. He said he was sure she was fine, though, wherever she was.

When Alexander later spoke to the media, he said, "All of a sudden I'm Simon Legree in all of this, and it is not justified." Simon Legree was the cruel slave-owner character in the book Uncle Tom's Cabin.

But then just a few days later, Alexander was arrested on an unrelated charge. An ex-girlfriend had come forward accusing him of rape. He was eventually released, due to lack of evidence. Police have also been unable to connect him to any foul play in connection to Ylenia's disappearance.

Some other possible leads are that on January 6, a young blonde woman was reported as having jumped into the Mississippi River, near the Aquarium of Americas, right on the edge of the French Quarter. A security guard said he noticed a woman sitting on a wharf, just staring at the river. He asked her to leave, because the area was closed and it was late at night. He recalls the woman saying, 'Well, I belong in the water anyway,' before standing up and diving headfirst into the river, fully clothed. He said it was clear this girl was a strong swimmer and that this wasn't a suicide attempt. He begged her to come back to shore but she continued swimming away to the center of the river. Some people are caught swimming in that river, especially when they've been around the French Quarter and drinking all day. But the river is misleading. While it appears calm on the surface, it has a dangerous undertow and the currents move fast. A big tanker ended up coming around the corner and the woman began screaming for help as she struggled to stay afloat. She kept disappearing under the water, and eventually, she doesn't come up again. The security guard who had witnessed all this happen in a matter of seconds alerts the Coast Guard who turn up to search for the woman. But there's never a sign of anyone.

The security guard, however, is not convinced it was Ylenia. Based on the photographs police showed him, he said it didn't look like her. Ylenia's parents also didn't believe the girl was their daughter.

Some claim they saw a sighting of Ylenia after she was reported missing. But the mystery of where Ylenia is has never been solved. Every year, several tourists go missing in the French Quarter, without a trace. She is still missing to this day.

                                             BACKSTORY

Sara was born on Lofoten Island, Norway, technically the ‘second’ to oldest child of thirteen children total due to her twin brother Seth being born eleven seconds ahead of her. Life was always hectic and busy, no more so than playing ‘Army’ in their huge field of a backyard with the literal army of brothers and sisters she had. Even despite being one of the oldest, one should think she would be one of the lead commands, right? But Seth certainly would never have it. He was Captain, She was Medic- That's just how it was. But it ultimately fostered a rivalry between them that would last well into adulthood. Kids play rough and usually that was the way many games of Army ended was with a crying younger sibling and Sara patching wounds at the kitchen table, undeniably proficient despite her want of being in charge. Both parents thought this was a pretty standard play considering their father was a Marine himself. Seth desperately wanted to be just like him..and Sara did too.

It felt like a race to the top between herself and her older brother, a competition that always seemed to strain on the precipice between good, fun rivalry and actually throwing hands. They had both signed up for the armed forces as soon as they were of age, Seth having originally kept intentions of joining the police force, but with instigation to agitate his sister, instead joined the Royal Marines, and Sara, the Royal Norwegian Army after failing the Marine PFT. It was a devastatingly bitter pill to swallow knowing that her brother, who never had intentions of joining had done so with ease while she having wanted it more than anything was ripped away from her. It has taken several years for Sara to even talk to her brother from this. But her proficiency and determination was valued greatly in this field, allowing her to become sharply skilled and proud- determined to be more than just ‘playing nurse’ like her childhood games.

Sara was accepted into the Norwegian Military Academy in Oslo to take her NCO courses before formally enlisting into the Norwegian Army Medical Service in 2013. While in the NAMS, Sara took on several specialized training courses surrounding her homeland, namely, cold combat and survival and tactical combat casualty care. After thirty weeks of intensive training in her specialized area of care, Sara graduated and was expeditiously placed on a joint Norway/Sweden medical alliance MedEvac team (Forsvarets Sanitet 22nd Medical Battalion/ 12th Combat Aviation Brigade) set out of Mali during the later end of the insurgence and were initially to be integrated into Sweden’s Takuba contingent. During the very brief stay in Mali after having been part of the leading force in setting up the MASH unit, The Norwegian Defense Minister pulled the plug on the operation after being unable to reach an agreement for the safety of their medics as the war took on an increasingly violent swing. It was at the end of their six-week tour when they were given orders to head back to Oslo to await further orders when their UH-60 MedEvac Black Hawk was shot down by enemy fire over a mountainous region of the neutral zone, crash landing in one of the many desert ravines nearby. Several people jumped from the burning, spinning Black Hawk, one of them being Sara who had jumped while holding tight to an injured German Lieutenant, whom she may or may not have had a relationship with, who had been hitching a ride back to NATO territory. The Lieutenant quickly died of his injuries from the fall that left Sara and two others as the sole survivors despite grievous injuries. Sara had broken her femur in the fall along with several other injuries that prevented her from being able to move her more seriously injured survivors. With broken leg and all, she administered life saving care to her two battalion members, the three of them stayed downed in the desert for a solid 22 hours as they defended themselves from active fire against the armed insurgents that surrounded them while foot-backup arrived- Per one of Sara’s panicked radio transmissions that any air Evac would have been promptly shot down. To their rescue as the 24 hour mark hit was a regiment of German Bundeswehr who had responded to their SOS on foot. Once arrived, they disposed of the rogue insurgents in short order and rescued Sara and the other two survivors before quickly laying claim to the area, further decreasing the neutral zone size. 

Sara was an emotional wreck following the crash, overnight shootout and subsequent injury, and was unable to continue her tour due to the emotional and physical toll it had taken, but on a positive note was given a Silver Star Medal along with the other two survivors for being Wounded in Action as well as an invitation to join and train with one of the elite SpecOps of the Norwegian Army, the Women’s 1st Medical Battalion, the Valkyries. But the invitation would have to wait until she healed. From 2015 to 2016 she was placed on light duty, transferring to a UK joint base as a Norwegian Army Representative for the bilateral training co-op of combat medics following her treatment and release from the Oslo VA hospital. Once placed back on active duty, Sara was expeditiously placed onto The Valkyries training team, their first order of business being to set up a MedEvac station near the security force center of the Anbar Province where the majority of injuries were coming from, they would also frequent Baghdad serving something as a supply Heli as well. Sara worked and trained the Valkyrie Battalion clear until the Afghanistan war had ceased in 2021. Post war, the Valkyrie Battalion was put on OC reserve, disbanded for the time being and her soldiers split up.   This would be Sara’s first encounter with KorTac. Upon examination of Sara’s skills and aptitude and a few weeks after the Valkyrie Battalion was put on reserve, Sara was offered a contract with KorTac as a combat medic once more. Initially, Sara declined, unsure if she could manage herself without the structure of the Army she had known for so many years, but after a peek at the pay, she was suitably convinced by KorTac’s recruiters to sign the dotted line.                                         HEADCANONS -> Is unusually quiet and nervous inside transport Helis. She could really do with an anxiety pill. -> Surprisingly vicious in hand-to-hand- she does not have the weight or strength to make hard hits, so she is ruthlessly brutal the first time so she doesn’t have to fight long. -> Wants to be married and have a family some day. She knows it won’t be any time soon, but her end goal, if she doesn’t die on a mission first, is to retire out from the military, marry and start having children.

The sleeve and not the pretty kind

It is not the weight you lose, but the life you gain through bariatric surgery.

Would you believe that this time two years ago, to the day, I weighed a staggering 320 lbs? It is hard to fathom, especially considering how far I have come since then. At that point in my life, I was struggling with my weight, and it was only getting worse as I approached graduation from high school. I have the prom pictures to prove it, and looking back at those photos fills me with a mix of nostalgia and disbelief. Those images capture not just a moment in time but a reflection of the challenges I faced. PLEASE HEED MY WARNING: this is not a speech urging anyone to dive head-first into weight loss surgery or an advertisement for any program. Instead, I want to emphasize that you are perfect just the way you are, regardless of your size or shape. Everyone has a unique journey, and self-acceptance is crucial. What I am sharing is merely my perspective on the pros and cons of my experience and how it has dramatically altered my life, both positively and negatively. On one hand, I have gained confidence and a newfound zest for life; on the other, I have faced challenges that I never predicted. The road to change is rarely linear, and it is important to understand that there are complexities involved. My goal is to offer insight into my journey, allowing others to learn from my experiences, whatever their paths may be.

So, what is a gastric sleeve exactly? A Gastric Sleeve also known as sleeve gastrectomy or vertical sleeve gastrectomy, is a type of bariatric surgery aimed at weight loss. It is a surgical procedure designed to aid with significant weight loss by removing 80% of your stomach, leaving a structure that is only slightly larger than a toothbrush in both size and capacity. People opt for this surgery for a range of reasons, with the clearest being the desire for weight loss. Excess weight can impair overall health, leading to serious conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or obstructive sleep apnea, diminishing one’s quality of life. Gastric sleeve surgery offers a pathway to reclaiming health and well-being. The process fundamentally changes how you consume food, making it so that even if you feel full, you cannot eat much more without discomfort, which can lead to nausea. For instance, I can only manage to eat about a cup of cereal or a comparable amount of any other food before I reach my limit. In practical terms, when I order a Subway footlong, it takes me two days to finish it. I often find myself unable to complete even half of it in one sitting, and I must pace myself to avoid feeling sick. This restriction also applies to liquids; I can no longer enjoy carbonated beverages because the gases create pressure in my stomach, making me uncomfortable if they don’t escape quickly enough. Despite these challenges, the results have been remarkable. I lost 150 pounds in the first year following the surgery and gradually shed another 50 pounds in the later.

People often confuse gastric sleeve and bypass often so there is the difference. To begin with, the gastric sleeve procedure involves the surgical removal of a sizable part of the stomach, resulting in a smaller, sleeve-shaped stomach. This procedure effectively limits the amount of food you can consume at one time, which can lead to gradual weight loss over months. However, this method may also come with some side effects, one of the most notable being an increased risk of developing diabetes for certain individuals. “The mechanisms underlying type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) remission following SG (sleeve gastronomy) have yet to be fully decided, but some studies have reported favorable changes in insulin sensitivity [11]. Sabatini et al. [12] have proved a near-normalization of insulin resistance in patients treated with SG.” (Sleeve Gastrectomy). While the gastric sleeve is often seen as a more straightforward choice, there are various pros and cons associated with it that I will elaborate on later. On the other hand, gastric bypass surgery is fundamentally different. This procedure is often described as a detour for food. During gastric bypass surgery, surgeons create a small pouch at the top of the stomach, which is then directly connected to the small intestine, effectively bypassing most of the stomach and a part of the small intestine. As a result, patients typically experience a more rapid weight loss compared to those who undergo gastric sleeve surgery. It comes with cons, including the potential for nutritional deficiencies and complications related to the altered digestive process.

The gastric sleeve and the experiences I have come to understand on a personal level. While there are undeniable benefits to this procedure, the challenges can be quite daunting. One of the most significant drawbacks I face is my limited capacity to eat. Going out to dinner, for instance, has turned into a complex social endeavor. Trying new foods and enjoying the company of friends can feel overwhelming. I often find that I can only gaze longingly at a plate of food before feeling full, which can make it difficult to take part in the shared experience of dining. Unfortunately, the carbonation makes me feel ill if I consume it too quickly, which is a disappointment since it used to be one of my favorite drinks. Another significant issue is that the surgery has altered my sense of hunger. The hormones that typically signal hunger in our bodies have been diminished, leading me to forget meals altogether. This has resulted in some alarming moments where I have nearly passed out due to my blood sugar dropping too low. Moreover, my nutritional health has taken a hit, particularly with my iron and vitamin B12 levels. I have been diagnosed as anemic, which adds another layer of complexity to my daily routine. For example, in his book “Another consideration is that the sleeve stomach empties rapidly into the small intestine, potentially lowering the bioavailability of iron and vitamin B12. One study on nutrient deficiencies in bariatric patients found a significant drop in ferritin levels 1 year after sleeve gastrectomy, although there was no development of iron deficiency” (Gastric Bypass by Bailey. Gary. H.) Certain foods that I once enjoyed, like greasy burgers and overly sweet desserts, now make me feel nauseous. As a result, I have had to say goodbye to many of my former favorites, as they simply do not sit well in the limited space of my new stomach. The journey is both challenging and enlightening me to reevaluate my relationship with food and my overall health.

Sometimes, after exhausting all other options, there may be no other way to achieve the desired health outcomes. I tried countless diets, pushing myself to the limits, to the point where all I consumed was rice. I even ran so intensely that I would only eat with chopsticks to slow myself down—an unconventional method, but it became a quirky part of my journey. Now, as a bonus, I can pick up a single grain of rice with my chopsticks, a skill I never thought I would master.

is there any mention of Ada, or Babbage, et al past Byron's death, by whoever was left of the gang, potentially Mary? Or is there no particular overlap between anybody post whatever year?

There’s no record of Ada meeting Mary, which is kind of odd tbh. I’ve tried to research this question many times. Apparently this summer there was even a play called “Shelley and Lovelace Never Met” by Dangerous Dames Theatre lmaooooo

But a lot of people in the Romantic circle did keep in touch of course, because they were all friends/lovers/colleagues. There were falling outs too of course. After Shelley died, a lot of the "main circle"Pisa Circle" split up and moved in opposite directions. 

As for Ada: It’s important to note that Ada’s parents split when she was a baby and she never met her father. Lady Byron (Anna) was a bit controlling and she largely tried to shelter Ada, who was a wild child, and who Anna compared to Byron. Anna also hated all of Byron’s friends and anyone who liked him really, so Ada wasn’t too encouraged to know them. Some anti-Anna Byronists have historically claimed that Anna totally kept Ada from knowing anything about him but that's not entirely true either; his poetry was around the house, and as an adult Ada cherished his dedication to her in Childe Harold Canto 3, often considered his most touching work (and what made me love his writing).

Ada did meet Augusta Leigh (Byron’s half-sister), disliked her, and blamed the incest allegations entirely on her. Ada may have been biased due to things her mother had said, and Augusta may have been cold to Ada due to Anna, or the pain of being reminded of Byron’s absence. It’s important to remember in biographical studies that everyone is biased and everyone has faulty recollections, so you can’t readily agree with any one figure’s opinions or judgements.

Ada did meet Hobhouse; she disliked him at first, but eventually liked him and he thought she resembled her mother more than LB. Off the top of my head, I don’t know if she met many of his other friends. Byron didn’t have many close friends, and many of them were abroad, dead, or hated by Anna, or simply unknown to her — but being a big celebrity and aristocrat, LB did meet many people in his life, and he was very well known. Many compared Ada to her father in personality and her mother in looks, although Hobhouse said he saw a little resemblance to LB, I assume he was maybe a bit disappointed there wasn’t more of one, since he really did miss Byron deeply, and adored him more than almost anyone else, and also in a more realistic way than almost anyone else. You would have to search his journals for what he thought of Ada; for Hobhouse research, I recommend the Byronist Peter Cochran's website, which has a section dedicated to Hobhouse; I think Cochran is one of the only people to ever read and edit the larger part of Hobhouse's journals or to write books about him. Hobhouse and Cochran are both invaluable resources to Byronist studies. Hobhouse kept detailed journals his whole life, including during his and Byron's trip where LB started Childe Harold, the work that made him famous (and was dedicated to Hobhouse).

As for the others: Mary kept in touch with the Hunts and Thomas Moore, who she helped write Byron's biography with. Claire stayed more in touch with her own family (the Clairmonts) but also stayed in touch with Trelawny til they died. He tried to marry her multiple times and they may or may not have had an affair (Shelley’s friend Peacock also proposed to her years prior). Trelawny also stayed in touch with Mary. Jane Williams (who lived with Mary and Percy, whose husband Edward died with Percy) met and married T J Hogg (Shelley’s best friend from college, who he once encouraged to have a relationship with Mary). As for Byron’s London crew, many of them were aristocrats or went into politics, so everyone knew everyone. Hobhouse, Kinnaird, Davies, Hodgson, all generally kept up, from what I know. It was a very small world. Teresa Guiccioli visited England and met many of Byron’s old associates.
