i can’t help but interpret this as a selfish act.

what, so she meets with the gods, yells at them a bit, and everything is fine? she’s allowed to avoid making the difficult choice to spare zeno’s suffering even if it pains her? she still hasn’t acknowledged her hand in this either. i hope she has some sort of internal struggle, that she doesn’t get to swoop in last minute and play savior, pinning the fault entirely on the gods. imo that would cheapen both her development and zeno’s betrayal.

I cannot put into words the feeling that consumed me body and soul when I first read this panel. she really said "you and the four dragons gods are all doing this in the name of the crimson dragon king. well I AM the crimson dragon king and I am telling you that this stops. now." she also very clearly said "the crimson dragon king is angry as fuck and the heavens are about to feel every single fucking drop of this anger. there will be consequences for this, bitch"

Zeno´s reaction

Thankfully, Zeno was allowed to express what he thought this chapter. "Nonsense", he replied to Yona´s proclamation that she would save everybody.

It is nonsense. If it was that easy, the whole manga would be a farce.

I know this scene was not supposed to be a comedy, but I laughed. I laughed, when Zeno replied "Beats me" to Yona´s question what he has to do in order to die?

The epitome of comedy was Yona wondering why the dragon warriors had to suffer. The answer has been around since the start of their journey: She is the reason why and maybe by her careless words did she further perpetuate the endless cycle of misery.

Hak is unconscious and Yona pushes Zeno away from Hak.

Zeno explains that she is the only one who can kill him. The arrow that Yona fired at him did not heal him and he realized it. Yona does not want to kill Zeno.

She decides to summon the dragon gods to have a talk because she is mad at them for making Zeno and the others suffer - they brought the chalice and burdened them with this fate where they have to live and fight with King Hiryuu, live short lives and curse Zeno with immortal life - and for all this to end, Zeno has to be killed by Yona?

"King Hiryuu never allowed for this to happen!"

"If they keep messing with you, no matter if they're gods or whatever, I will summon from the heavens!"

"But Miss... that crest and blood cup must belong to me"

"Zeno. This crest... reacts to my blood."

I didn't realize before you mentioned (as I was quickly scrolling out the panels while reading the chap), this is indeed hilarious! How Zeno's being sarcastic towards Yona's attempt to convince him. But I still wonder if Zeno knew abt Yona's secret deal w Hiryuu? Did he??
