I don't think I can premiere my "goodbye #youtube" video I spent all week editing ON YOUTUBE because I'm still freshly prevented from uploading there thanks to their most recent ban of a fully clothed video of me merely talking to the camera as "seggsually ekspleeseet newdeetay" 🙃🙃🙃

Knowing that there's no searchability or traction on decentralized platforms like #Mastodon and #peertube is very frustrating, but at least I won't have to worry about getting arbitrarily banned anymore.

Got the first interaction with someone on Tumblr of ANY variety since a single "like" almost a full month ago, and it's some random person accusing me of "gatekeeping" topless equality by saying that the outline of a "female nipple" under a shirt isn't the same thing as wanting to have the exact same right as people who "look male" to have our nipples entirely visible in public and online, lol.

this is what I mean when I say I don't see the point in using Tumblr very much. my posts get shadowbanned, even text only posts, so barely anyone can find them. if I'm going to post for no one to see, I might as well just use Mastodon.

Hi! My name is Cleo and I've been beating the drum about topless gender equality for ten years now, and I very frequently bring up the fact that toplessness for "people who look female" is illegal in most of the US, and even in the small handful of states that explicitly allow equal toplessness, they still have to frequently retrain cops not to arrest women for "public indecency" anyway, to say nothing about the extreme hypocrisy of what's considered "sexually explicit nudity" or not.

Meanwhile, except in extremely conservative places, a woman might get weird looks and condemning comments about having the outline of her nipples visible under her shirt, she is NOT going to be arrested for it. She's also not going to have her posts banned on social media unless the outline is extremely noticeable, and still most likely not there either.

You can call it "gatekeeping" if you want, but "destigmatizing the outline of female nipples under shirts" is NOT the same thing as "wanting the exact same right to have female-presenting nipples allowed to be visible in public and online like every male-presenting nipple already can be" are NOT THE SAME THING. It's like the issue I frequently run into with (predominantly) cis male nudists, who jump from "wanting the same rights as men" to "normalizing full body nudity so they can show their genitals as well as their chests." like it says in my pinned bluesky post...

sorry not sorry, women posting photos of themselves wearing clothing but with the vague outline of their nipples barely visible poking through the cloth then labeling it "free the nipple" pisses me off.

Get your own hashtag. #FreeTheNipple is about achieving the EXACT SAME PRIVILEGE to go topless in public and online that "male-looking people" get, entirely with or without a shirt.

if you reblog any of my posts about men in crop tops or short shorts and youre like "ill do this when im skinny," i need you to take my hand. sweet summer child, listen to me. you do not have to be skinny to show skin. please be fat and show skin. you deserve to wear what you want to wear, and to be cool in the heat. you do not have to punish yourself for being fat.

im not going to lie- some people will judge you. sometimes you will see or hear them judging you. you have to be able to move on. you are not living your life for them. pleasing them by sweating to death is not going to help you, and it's not going to appease fatphobic assholes. you do not need to make yourself small for them.

there are, on the other hand, also a plethora of people who are going to find you smokin hot, and others who will be inspired by your bravery- whether or not *you* feel brave- and it will make them brave too. there will be fat children who see you and realize they too can have all the autonomy and free will skinny people do. please dont hide yourself.
