Yeah yeah Mic being protective of Aizawa we've all seen it done hundreds of times but my bread and butter will always be Aizawa being protective of Mic in that way of "hey I'm allowed to make fun of my friend and bully him because he knows it's all good fun but if any of you motherfuckers tries it we're gonna have problems" and the far more embarrassing "MY BEST FRIEND IS AN INCREDIBLE HOST/HERO/ETC AND HERE'S ALL THE REASONS WHY, IF YOU DON'T LIKE HIS SHIT YOU'RE WRONG" which comes out a lot when he's drunk and/or he sees Mic hate on forums

I think Aizawa smells like fabric softener.

He's the kind of guy who uses it for the smell more than the softening.

He hates going to the dry cleaners because his suits smell different. For those instances he uses that one perfume his hero mentor got him on his 18th. (He liked it enough to use it for formal occasions).

He does get his shirts pressed, though. (Never has time time to do it himself). He likes the smell of it.

Smells clean and put together. On more than one occasion, he caught himself thinking 'ah this is what an office worker smells like'.

For deodorant or air fresheners, I think he'd get natural scents. Something that doesn't attack the nose. (As a hero, it would help if people didn't smell him coming, regardless of how good he smells)

Smells like 'rain', 'dusk', 'sea breeze', or 'forest' or lemony ones. Something refreshing.

He definitely uses 5 in 1 stuff. But it's a scented something. Uses generic name brand 'for men's stuff.

If you ever ask him about his hair routine, don't be surprised to hear "I don't do anything".

He's not a dirty guy, it's more so that, his apartment is so minimal that there isn't much to get dirt on.

No TV, no dining table. The kitchen counter has a plate and 2 coffee cups on it. The shelves are empty but there's a coffee maker and a rice cooker (which hasn't been used for 5 years).

His fridge has 2 drinks. And energy bars. And that's it.

He spends most of his time outside so he doesn't need a lot of stuff at home.

Closet has 3 sweats and 4 black sweatshirts (all the same kind), 3 formal shirts (one has a permanent stain on it, so maybe it doesn't count), 1 suit, and 2 formal pants.

He also has his first hero suit wrapped in a box. Has a whole drawer for thin black hair ties.

He also has a drawer of ties. People keep gifting him ties over the years (he thinks it's because they want him to dress up). He's grateful for it because it gives him something to laugh about.

He has 5 pair of shoes! But 5 of the same kind (as a hero, his shoes get the worst of it).

Has a whole wall dedicated to his accessories and weapons.

So yeah, his closest sees more of him than any other corner of the house.

Whenever he notices the emptiness he just says, "maybe someone else will have a lot of space to fill them in as they desire".

Hitoshi, upon being adopted by erasermic, got to slowly ease out of the habits foster care pushed him into. This includes the essential teenage experience of listening to music with both earplugs in.

Reblogged a post on my main about how fandom sometimes forgets what’s a headcanon and what’s actually canon and it got me thinking about Aizawa’s characterization, specifically in relation to Class 1-A and how “dadzawa” just gets on my fucking nerves.

I think in general Aizawa isn’t someone who’s willing to step outside the bounds of a proper student-teacher relationship, he’s much more likely to remain aloof with a strict no-nonsense teaching style like what was seen in the first few U.A. arcs. I think it was simply external circumstance and the fact that Class 1-A is a bunch of bonkers wild high schoolers that made him take a step up from his usual style and offer more emotional support to the kids later down the line. He’s trained as a Pro Hero and a teacher, two jobs which require both mental fortitude and compassion for others, and Class 1-A just happens to be a group of students he meshed well with in the beginning, and as the series went along and things became more intense he recognized when those kids needed emotional support as well, but I don’t think it ever really crossed the line from how a teacher or hero would care for them vs how a parent would. I’m also willing to bet most of the kids whose families we haven’t seen are already fairly emotionally supportive. I don’t think very many of them are actively looking for a pseudo-parental replacement in Aizawa to begin with.

This isn’t to say I think all “dadzawa” fics or headcanons should be razed to the ground I just think people sometimes read an adult genuinely caring about a child under their care and protection and turn off their brains and close their eyes and slap the “dad/mom” label onto them far too often. Aizawa has Eri and while I think her story was also dropped too soon for as much emotional weight and narrative potential she has, I like to think she was his first real step into fully taking care of a kid who looks to him for support in all aspects of her life that he can’t just keep at arm’s length or be his normally-strict and coldly logical personality around.

You can add nuance to character relationships and personalities while also not straying from their core principles it doesn’t hurt I promise

pick a direction and walk - this was my 2019 GOBB big bang fic and it was so so so meaningful to me, it really reflected a lot of my “I’m in my early 20’s, I’m lost, I don’t know what I’m doing and I don’t know what to do about not knowing, I don’t know what my purpose is, I don’t know how to find that purpose, everything feels big and overwhelming and I’m so so so lost 😞” problems at the time, and yet the story ended happily and hopefully and with a “it’s okay to just be you” kinda vibe. I was so proud of this and I’m still so proud of it even almost exactly 4 years later, and it continues to be my least-liked fic 🤷🏻

basically: Crowley and aziraphale gotta figure out wtf they’re gonna do post-apocalypse while also dealing with 1) Aziraphale’s acting WEIRD he’s wearing MODERN CLOTHES 2) Crowley’s miracles aren’t working but he’s in denial it’s fine and 3) Dagon and Michael showing up and Asking Questions that they don’t know how to answer. And they’re all gay of course
