I don't get why Rainbow made Chatta resemble Stella. A lot of fans are also noticing this and are wondering why Chatta isn't Stella's pixie partner...

The point of the bonded pixies is to complement their fairy partner or help them overcome a challenge or weakness they have—not necessarily to be similar.

Chatta, for example, encourages Flora to be outspoken and assertive in situations in which Flora feels shy. Piff, being the youngest and needing constant monitoring, contrasts sharply with Layla, who is highly independent and self-reliant. Piff's quiet and comforting presence allows Layla to slow down, bringing forth her more tender side. It’s also worth noting that Piff can use her powers to reduce the anxiety and stress that Layla often experiences.

Similarly, Lockette helps guide Bloom on her journey to discover her purpose and understand her past. Lockette's cautious and worrisome nature also provides a grounding counterbalance to Bloom's impulsive and reckless tendencies.

Amore is gentle and soft-spoken, qualities that Stella lacks. Amore could be instrumental in helping Stella address her deep-seated abandonment issues, especially her struggle to believe that people genuinely love and care for her, but sadly, this potential storyline has not been explored in the show. In contrast, Tune is well-mannered and conservative, while Musa dances to the beat of her own drum, unafraid to challenge social norms and speak her mind. Stella gets a lot of flack for being rude and insensitive, but my unpopular opinion is that Musa can be just as brazen if not more. Tune helps temper that abrasiveness.

Finally, we arrive at Digit and Tecna who share more similarities than the other pairs. I think the only aspect that showcases their complementarity is that Tecna sometimes suffers from "black-and-white" thinking to an extreme degree, which Digit counters by disagreeing with her or prompting her to explore other available possibilities.

i know no one who hates bucktommy is still following me but if somehow someone sees this and they were considering review-bombing the episode, please consider that there is a very talented child actor who was given an immense challenge in that episode and he was featured in a way he has never been on that show and maybe consider how it would feel for that child if the episode that showcases his acting in such a big way, receives a bunch of shit reviews

top 5 pets that got DESTROYED by the conversion, and top 5 that got BETTER from the conversion.

Destroyed:

Wocky: The eyes going from triangular to rectangular and the addition of giant eyebrows (plus the different mouth shape) makes this pet look absolutely terrible for literally no reason. There's not even an excuse for why this one looks bad; they just changed it Because.

Kyrii: While there are some improvements here (the mane), the entire head shape of the Kyrii went from narrow at the bottom to wide, making them look strange and loosing most of the trickster vibe. The underbelly going up higher also screws with the ability to read the mouth.

Kiko: The pre-conversion Kiko was very dated and badly needed new art, but this ain't it. Things like the eye spacing, muzzle, and very wide mouth ruined any of the cute aspects of this pet.

Poogle: A more subtle one, but the change in shading and removal of most of the lines on the face/chin really screwed it up, going from a cute fat creature to something really off-putting. Also, unlike the above examples, the converted version is also just straight-up worse with no improvements.

Lutari: Outside of losing the fun, dynamic pose, the Lutari's anatomy and details got really messed up conversion—foot size changed, markings changed, eye shape changed, etc. The converted isn't the worst-looking pet or anything like that, but like the Poogle, nothing was improved.

Improved:

Chia: I don't know if it's just me, but I always really disliked the weird lower lip of Chias and was very glad to see it go. The artwork was also in bad need of an update, with most of the janky linework being fixed (look at that foot on the pre-conversion one).

Peophin: The old Peophin art had some weird stuff going on around the tail and was very under-detailed, so the new version just cleaned it up and improved the anatomy and shading without altering the design much.

Tonus: Another one with dated, poorly-shaded art. However, the big improvement here to me is the expression, with the pre-conversion face looking weirdly detailed in all the wrong places. Once again, just a nice clean-up that doesn't alter the pet too much.

Elephante: Similar to the Tonu, this is once again a pet with badly dated artwork that just cleaned things up and greatly improved the weird expression. The anatomy has been fixed (look at that wing on the pre-conversion art and you'll see what I mean) and the design is also much easier to read. The head piece is also now removable, which is a nice option to have available.

Aisha: The pre-conversion Aisha wasn't terrible or anything, but it had very dated, hard-to-read art that needed an update anyway. The converted version is just the same thing but overall better, and as a bonus, the collar can now be removed if desired.

Lt. Abubakar's sense of style draws heavily from Aisha Babayo Shehu's brand, Babayo, which embroiders Fulani cultural narratives onto modern designs. Her clothes are loose and comfortable. Triangles are often incorporated to reflect her Vulcan heritage. Kadiatou wears cowrie shell hair charms and bracelets.

UTUT LI'PELE NAKO

Ens. Nako's sense of style consists of revealing, form-fitting tops and flowy, feminine accessories. She wears natural materials from her home planet, Oistir, such as woven algae, ocean crop, and carved seashell. Nako's school is identified culturally by their simply weaved beige crop and Utut recreates the practice for her own clothes.

I have opinions on practically everything relating to neopets, lol

I don't hate them, but I definitely have critique for them. I think the main problems I have are that their poses are stiff (the 'neutral' poses in particular), and their faces feel flat in a way that feels unintentional- the line drawn above the bridge of the nose is used to imply depth, but if the mouth and nose are placed on the same plane as the eyes, the illusion of dimension doesn't work. The lines not having much variation in thickness also seriously contributes to the flat feeling.

did some rough sketches to illustrate how i'd personally tweak them- maybe i'll finish these later to take a stab at the line weights.

Conceptually, cat-based imps are a decent enough enemy type, but I do think that they're too close to wraiths visually. Not sure if they're planning on connecting these with those or not in the story, but as of right now they feel a bit redundant. It would maybe be fun to have more of the round shapes from the little floating molecules reflected in the designs, like if they were more liquid than gas? idk

The sexism of the show still astounds me with just how prevalent it's become and yet at the same time it was always kind of there in the background like Sam's story went from how she's more than a legacy to the exact opposite, Tory's living in a psychological horror with her mother killed off solely to drive her back to Cobra Kai, Aisha was written out, Shannon became one-dimensional and Amanda's role as the apparent Only Sane Woman becomes increasing frustrating because she is not the only adult there, they dismissed Ali's experiences with Johnny, didn't do anything much with Kumiko except as a way in bring back Chozen too, Carmen's now a trophy wife and baby factory and hell, even unseen female characters get short shrift because in S5 we're told something happened to Mike's wife which is very evidently why he's spiraled so hard, and then we never hear about her again!! The show just straight up doesn't give a shit and I hate it so much because there was so much potential with all of these and they squandered it.
