As I've had new followers on here despite this hellsite being a sinking ship:

I've moved most of my stuff on to Pillowfort--my account is called snowgrouse on there--and I'm only reblogging the odd bits and pieces now on Tumblr, not posting new content. All my new content is on PF, now, whether it's the Old Hollywood stuff from @aikainkauna or the ~aesthetic~ stuff and porn from here on kissinthedreamhouse. Once the registrations on PF open up again, it's likely my Tumblrs will eventually dwindle into inactivity.

So those of you who are following me here for the ~aesthetic~ stuff should check out my PF account--I've just posted a boatload of really beautiful old art and vintage nudes on there from my raids into the Austrian National Archives' online magazine section. There's Symbolist art, Art Nouveau, burlesque and revue and cabaret stuff from the stages of Vienna, Paris and Berlin, vintage ads, Manasse, and of course, my lord and master, Conrad Veidt. Plenty of goodies therein:)

I've seen some folks reblogging old posts from here on @veidtveidtveidt , seemingly just for the gifs, but those often have the link to the old masterpost that no longer works (because Tumblr thinks anything with S*ndsp*ce links is spam). So there's no point in reblogging them because people will just be frustrated by a b0rked link! And I haven't got the time to go back and replace the link on every post, either, so I hope you understand.

If you just want Connie gifs to reblog (which I presume was the whole idea), I suggest you head over to my fannish blog, @aikainkauna , for as many Veidt gifs as you can hope for. I've tagged all of my posts meticulously by film and by actor, so you should be able to find what you're looking for--those exact same gifs at that. Every time I've announced the upload of a film on the masterpost, I've used a gif I've posted on aikainkauna first. So those are much better an option to reblog, rather than a post with text that's now become meaningless.

Edit: if you're new to Tumblr and don't know how to look around for a specific tag on someone's blog, just type this in the address field of your browser:

Just replace "blognamegoeshere" with the name of the blog in question, and the "tagofchoice" with the tag you're looking for. So if I want to find all my Casablanca posts on my blog, I paste this URL into my address bar:

Or if the tag is several words, it needs to be hyphenated for the link to not break--let's say I want to see all the times when Strasser is far too hot when he shouldn't be for a Nazi scumbag/Connie is perving Claude or Ingrid or the caviar again:

Will take me to all that. You can also use the "search" function but it's not that great, and leaves many posts out.

Mmm, I’m not so much bothered about reblogs (it kind of doesn’t make sense to care too much about that when you’re in the Connie fandom, as he gets so little attention, relatively speaking, anyway. You better than anyone will know just what I mean - that kind of thing where you can get hundreds, even thousands of notes for something slightly more 'in’ with the crowds, but then because you love this dead bisexual transvestite magnificent piece of awesome german actor, you post about him instead, and talkie Connies scarcely enjoy more than thirty notes *at best*). And I also do want to point out here that I’m not bothered about making sure people know that ah, yes, she must have the actual card if she’d scanning and it’s the entire thing so it’s legit. Which seems to be a thing with some people? I guess as you said, for historic purposes or something. But anyway. What bugs me is just the way the photo looks. And the quality of the photo. Because what’s better than getting a high res photo of your favourite in as good a quality as you can find? And the ross cards tend to remain in pretty good nick, it’s just that they’re tiny so the only way to do them justice is by scanning them, IMHO. But so often I just... don’t want the border there because all I want is Connie. And I’m totally with you when it comes to shying away from putting in captions, because yeah, I feel like even that takes away from the piece. I, too, just put faith in the fact that people read the tags and will thus know who it is/what it is (or indeed if they don’t, just come over and ask the OP).

Can’t we say being kind Instead of putting a label on how it’s done? I believe that they may even be friends but as far as I could see that’s just the way David is, kind.

This is not so much a comment about David and John as it is about Ten and the Master. Deep in my gut, the way RJD wrote them left plenty of room for speculation about the nature of their relationship, and Moffat followed suit. They were bros. But how deep that love went does make the mind reel.

I had this really weird dream last night, where I was visiting Finland somehow, and found that @aikainkauna and Kimi Raikkonen were in neighbouring flats (which is definitely not the case), and that Kimi was into plastic model kits... I’m only surprised that the Baron of Arnimetsa (Finnish SCA fencer who keeps wanting me to go fence there) wasn’t actually in it...
