There's a new 720 p restoration of Ingmarsarvet out! I've upped it to the masterpost; send an ask for a password. Engsubs are included in the file.

The Student of Prague

Right, just to see how it goes, I've taken the password off The Student of Prague (HD, with English subs downloadable separately). So, those of you who don't yet have it, do go ahead and grab it off the masterpost and let me know if it works (or still nags for a password), all right?

If you haven't seen it yet, you should; it's not only a gorgeous film but the thing that started this whole Veidt mess for myself and several others. Truly a gateway drug into the soul-destroying wonder that is Herr Veidt.

As the eagle-eyed among you may have noticed, they've put up a restoration of Furcht on the Bundesarchiv, so you can watch it there. I also have a 1080p rip and that's now been added to the masterpost, so drop me an ask if you want to grab a copy to keep. It has Danish intertitles and German subtitles.

Conrad Veidt Masterpost PSA

JFC, but it's been a tough week trying to reupload All The Connies AND the variant cuts and the subtitles. It's about a hundred links I had to fuck around with and test, I think. *Flops*

I think I've now managed to update all the links on the masterpost, and the good news is that a) I don't have to split files anymore (although, as to whether Mega will allow free users to grab some of the bigger files is... something that I don't know about) and b) I've removed some of the passwords. A Woman's Face and Thief of Bagdad don't have any passwords, for instance. But I still have to keep them on for the bigger files, just in case. 

So, I think I should be able to continue the Connie propagandising as usual; do let me know which films you'd like, and I'll PM you back with the passwords. The subtitles, as usual, have no passwords.

Someone could also buy me a drink or give me a massage or something because I'm fucking *wiped,* you guys.

The masterpost is under re-construction

Just a heads-up that Sendspace, indeed, refused to answer my emails (even if I emailed them three times, once to an alternative addy) and it looks like they don't want my money 🤷‍♀️, so all the Sendspace links on the masterpost are dead, as of now. But do not despair: I'm in the process of reuploading All The Connies elsewhere, and will update the masterpost accordingly, once I'm done. But do note that this will take a while, so I can't really give out any links or passwords just yet. The links to the subtitle files on my personal server should still work, however.

So, please be patient as I move this slinky panther collection into a new zoo, and keep your fingers crossed that it'll all go smoothly.

Just a heads-up that I'm having some unresolved technical problems with my Sendspace subscription at the mo, so there may be a break in the files being available after the 15th. Or they may go offline completely if the guys at Sendspace screw it up; they aren't that great at tech support. So, erm, if you guys want to get some of the movies before my account, possibly, goes down for good, now would be a really good time to put in those password requests.

Just added English subtitles for Landstrasse und Grossstadt to the masterpost. No password needed.

So, I just upped Der Schwarze Husar (with English subtitles courtesy of Brides of Veidt) onto Archive.org as well. So, now you have a streaming version without horrible wobbly filters and can save yourself from seasickness. And just focus on the h*o**r*n*y outrageousness of early talkie Connie.

I've just upped Bella Donna to Archive.org. You can also download a copy from the page--it's the MPEG4 link below the video frame; right click and save as. I tried to improve the audio quality somewhat from the file that's on the masterpost, so this is a bit more audible--although the quality is still not great. But, as usual, it's the only copy I've been able to get my hands on.

Guys, I'm drowning in off-topic asks. 

Please, please, please: if you want to talk to me about something that's not about the passwords/downloads, like if you want to correspond with me about Connie, please don't do so via the asks on here, or on Tumblr at all. If you want to have conversations about Connie with me, Pillowfort is the best place for that. 

Why?

-Tumblr is rubbish and I am not active on this hellsite anymore, but only pop in to see password requests here on VVV from time to time. This is NOT my online home. I am not here to hang out and be fannish. Again, I am now on PF and that's that.

-Tumblr deletes all the asks you respond to, because, again, it's shit. If you've written me something nice, I don't want it to be wiped, or lose my reply in cyberspace either, so that's part of the reason why I may not respond to your message. (Yes, I could screencap, but it's not the same thing). And I have to constantly worry about accidentally publishing a private ask! It's all so incredibly unwieldy here that it's utterly rubbish for any meaningful interactions. So, please, please, please, let's use a platform that's far better for that sort of thing. Like PF. It's designed with fannish discussion in mind to begin with. 

-I know what you're thinking. Your neurosis is all aflame with paranoia and now you think I am talking about you specifically, and that I hate you forever and that you're an awful person who's fucked up again and yadayadayada. No. Don't tear your hair out, please! I am not vagueblogging about you specifically nor do I hate you forever; I have just had literally half a dozen people do this and some have sent multiple messages, so my askbox is full of everything BUT password requests. Dozens and dozens of messages that have nothing to do with passwords, some of them just people literally spamming me with their monologues! Please, save monologues for your own blogs; that's what they're for! Don't flood someone who's not asked for it, simply because you share a fandom with them. 

-So, if I haven't responded to your password request yet, this is why. It's harder for me to find the password requests and get down to responding to them, because it takes ages to respond to the off-topics! There; I'm just telling you all what it's like at this end.

-Also, I am disabled and fatigue easily. I have limited computer time and simply don't have the energy to type out messages saying all this to six people separately. Again, my askbox has overrun with off-topic stuff now, and that's not what this blog is for.

So, please, for the love of Connie, let's just stick to the password requests on here, okay? And please, don't send me apologies now, either, because they aren't needed (rather, I'm sending you hugs and such!), and besides, apologies would be off-topic as well--let me just concentrate on the password stuff here and leave the chatting to PF, ok?

I'm just not going to reply to off-topic stuff now, JSYK--but it really is not personal. I promise. Just, I'm exhausted and there's a time and place for everything. Even for geekery.

Landstrasse und Grossstadt, upgrades of Nju and Kreuzzug des Weibes

Good news, everybody! The Bundesarchiv has put up a couple of Connie silents in better quality than what we've had before; I've managed to grab them and up them for your perusal. This time, I've got the previously unavailable Landstrasse und Grossstadt (where Connie plays a tender, beautiful young violinist--it's a good one)...

...and far, far clearer copies of Nju (miserable, but of course, he's gorgeous)...

...and Kreuzzug des Weibes (be forewarned, though; it's very heavy subject matter as it's about reproductive rights).

Sadly, others haven't been upped yet, but give it time. As usual, drop me an ask to get the passwords for whichever movies you'd like (please try and spell as maturely as possible, if you want an answer), and go to the masterpost for all your Veidty needs.

Rasputin, Dämon der Frauen (1932)

Since it’s one of the most, if not *the* most requested movie of the bunch, I’ve uploaded Rasputin, Dämon der Frauen (1932) to Archive.org. You can grab it from there (right click, save as on the “cinepack” link below the video screen), or watch it there, with English subtitles (the “subrip” link) courtesy of your fellow Veidt fans, (FFF and yours truly, as far as I can remember).

Whether it’ll stay up is anyone’s guess, but it should be in the public domain as far as I know. This is the same file that bootleggers sell on eBay and such as DVD-Rs, BTW, so that’s what you’ll get from them as well, until a restoration comes out (if ever). So, here you go.

I've had some serious health trouble lately and am thinking of retiring the masterpost, since so few people ever seem to ask for the films. Some of you really like to watch the wobblified seasickness-inducing versions on streaming sites rather than ask for the unwobbly originals from a stranger who pays 10 e a month for the privilege of offering you them for free, huh? You k_i_n_k_y sods. 😂 So, erm, if you have been waiting for some kind of magic sign or whatever to send in an ask for the films, this is it; they might not be here tomorrow. And you get to keep, you know, copies. On your hard drive. That won't vanish like the stuff on streaming sites. If I start running out of bandwidth, I'll make a post on here, so don't worry about it, all right?

(But please do spell/capitalise maturely if you want a reply. I can barely afford to host this stuff; I don't have the money to pay for a squeaky toy-to-English translator on top of that:p.)
