Idk how digital art works, but here’s a Commander Cody I spent way too much time on

Cal and Bode don't fight on Jedah, instead Cal returns to Cere's base just in time to intervene in her fight with Darth Vader. They're able to escape, then together they track Bode to Nova Garon. With Cere's help, an agreement is reached. Can Bode be redeemed? In the meantime, Darth Vader amps up his search for Cal and Cere, and Obi-Wan receives a message and leaves Tatooine for a second time. A fan comic.

Planning on making this somewhere around 80-100 pages, give or take. I've got the first 60 pages written and roughly sketched out, but it'll still be slow going.

Yay, I'm finally ready to post this thing. It is now finished at 20 chapters (around 100k) and the goal is to post weekly. As I said in a post earlier - it all started as a tribute to Ewan in turtlenecks but then it grew plot and, well.

So yeah it's a meet-cute bookstore AU in which Anakin discovers gay erotica books and it throws him right into sexual awakening (and Obi's--or Ben's as he's called here--arms).

What starts as a simple errand for his sister’s birthday leads Anakin into a charming, old-world bookstore, where he meets its intriguing ginger-haired owner. Anakin thought buying a book would be the end of it, but he finds himself drawn back—not just to the fantasy novel he's purchased, but to the man behind the counter. As the story within the book unfolds, so too does Anakin’s growing curiosity about the bookstore owner, hinting at a connection that might turn into something much more than casual visits for new reading material.

Consider the following: Obi-Wan's a CEO at a company. A moderately successful one, and he has decided he will retire in a few years. So, he takes Anakin under his wing to train him to be the next CEO.

Anakin is absolutely clueless, he just follows along, believing he might just be in a trashy romance novel titled: 'the CEO and the secretary'. It's only a matter of time before Obi-Wan bends him over the large desk in his private office.

Anakin is wrong, of course.

No such thing happens. Instead, Obi-Wan teaches him how to lead the company and introduces him to the senior management, the important customers, shareholders, whatever.

Cue to Obi-Wan deciding Anakin -- who has been very patient in the meantime -- will take over. The betrayal! Obi-Wan doesn't want to rail his very capable secretary? Instead, he wants to dump this company Anakin really doesn't care about on Anakin's shoulders?

And the humiliation. He has been bending over and posturing and honing his flirting, and Obi-Wan never noticed? Or worse: he politely ignored it?

Anakin goes along with it, I reckon. At least on a surface level. He attends the big festivities for Obi-Wan's retirement, gives a speech that goes along the line of "Obi-Wan abandons his colleagues who need him so very much :(", and he even waves Obi-Wan goodbye when Obi-Wan gets in a cab.

Now, Obi-Wan's retirement plans... He has an eopie farm somewhere in the countryside. It won't turn a profit, but Obi-Wan was a CEO, he doesn't need the money.

On his first morning, he rudely waken up by someone ringing his doorbell. And it may happen to be Anakin, who's there with coffee and breakfast for Obi-Wan. And also a filled suitcase and big, hopeful puppy eyes.

He gets to stay, of course. Which means the company has no CEO, everything in shambles, there's general panic, and Obi-Wan and Anakin remain oblivious to it all.

I don't know, I started thinking about Anakin getting a very important job and just abandoning it the moment he realized that Obi-Wan isn't going to be a part of it. He needs Obi-Wan to admire him!

It is something Cody’s General told him once. Part of a litany of alternating technique and philosophy shared as Kenobi guided him through the half-dozen moves of the simplest lightsaber katas. Repeating each move – step and block and strike – again and again until Cody’s balance is perfectly in alignment, flowing smoothly between the unfamiliar positions.

Cody doesn’t know if it’s true, but he’s willing to believe.

A Jedi’s crystal is Force-sensitive, semi-sentient.

Or, no, Kenobi had actually mentioned it earlier, when he was explaining that his crystal likes Cody. That there was a reason why his lightsaber always seemed to end up in Cody’s possession whenever it went missing. That it was why Kenobi was willing and able to teach him to use the lightsaber in the first place.

Cody is certainly glad for that now, both the finding and the training.

How sentient is semi-sentient? How sensitive is Force-sensitive? He never thought to seek clarification before. He would ask now, except his General is crumpled on the ground behind him, the puddle of red below him spreading, and assistance still three minutes away.

Cody moves, the bright blade in his hands somehow in time to meet the next vicious downswing.

A Jedi’s crystal is Force-sensitive, semi-sentient.

As the pressure against his blade – his General’s blade – increases he feels the damaged hilt flex. A crack gapes then closes, pinching the skin of his bare palm. A jagged piece of metal stabs at his finger, drawing a bead of blood. He ignores the pain. All that matters is the next step, the next block. Second after second until reinforcements arrive.

All that matters is the shield of light he weaves between his vulnerable General and danger.

Another saying floats through his mind: ‘a Jedi’s lightsaber is their life’. Cody has never prayed before, but he tries something similar now. With all the attention he can spare, he bundles up all his worry, desperation, determination… love. He bundles them up, and shoves them at crystal and Jedi alike.

“Don’t break down on me yet.”

With a primal roar, Anakin charged at Maul, the dark side swirling dangerously around him, a tempest of raw power. Maul merely smirked, his eyes glinting with dark amusement as he anticipated the Jedi's reckless move. Just as Anakin reached him, the air shifted. The Nightsister Great Mothers, shrouded in shadow and whispers, began to chant in a language that sent chills down Anakin's spine.

Suddenly, the ground beneath him ignited, forming a pentagram of emerald fire that encircled him. The flames crackled and danced, blocking his path and freezing him in place. Anakin felt a surge of energy wash over him, a binding force that held him captive within its fiery embrace. He struggled against it, but the flames pulsed with a life of their own, feeding off his anger and despair.

Maul stepped forward, reveling in Anakin's entrapment. "Foolish boy. You think you can save her? You are only sealing her fate by resisting me." He turned away, gesturing to his Nightbrother Blood Guards. "Deal with them."

The dark warriors advanced on Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Bo-Karan alongside her Mandalorians, their eyes gleaming with malevolence as they brandished their weapons. The air crackled with tension as the Jedi prepared to defend themselves, but Anakin's focus was solely on Maul, who approached him with deliberate, measured steps.

"Your power is magnificent," Maul taunted, his voice smooth like silk but laced with venom. "But it is wasted on a hot tempered child like you." Savage and Feral, who were still standing by the their brother's throne, stood by Maul's side as the Dark Lord grinned at the detained Chosen One. "We have robbed many Jedi of their power, and have grown stronger because of it. Now, we will drain your life force, take your strength, the power given to you by the Force, and with it, we will become unstoppable. Your pain will only strengthen us, and the Sith Triumvirate will be the greatest power in the galaxy!"

Anakin's heart raced as he felt the dark energy coiling around him, threatening to consume him. He closed his eyes, reaching deep within himself for the light that had always guided him. He could feel Padmé's presence, her love igniting a flicker of hope amid the encroaching darkness. With a desperate surge of will, he pushed against the binds of the pentagram, channeling everything he had into breaking free.

"Not today, Maul!" Anakin's voice boomed, echoing with defiance, as he summoned the strength of his connection to the Force, determined to protect his wife and unborn child at all costs. The emerald flames flickered, and for a fleeting moment, he felt the grip of the dark side weaken. But he knew it wouldn't be easy. The battle for his soul was just beginning. "You've taken too much from the people of galaxy, Maul," the flames rising from the pentagram died down before Anakin broke the containment field and stood with his lightsaber drawn, a fire of righteous fury burning in his eyes. "You're going to answer for the atrocities you've committed."
