Move Everything Slightly to the Left, to the Right
Fox/Echo/Fives, but Echo is sir not appearing, Grief and Guilt, Relationship Status: It’s Complicated, Fox Needs Help but he will certainly never ask for it, time travel/loop fix-it (sorta), a touch of Fives/Tup, TBB cameo, & Ahsoka (Citadel->Wrong Jedi->Inhibitor Chips Arcs) ((No Chips))
third in the f(x)=√25e^2 series
Despite his best efforts, Fives can tell something is intrinsically wrong about the way Fox is acting now. Every time Fox tries to open his mouth and tell Fives that he has prior knowledge of events, that he has already lived these days and made crucial mistakes in them, the truth sticks in his throat.
I killed you. I died still following my master’s orders.
I killed you. I knew Echo would fall that day and I didn’t stop it.
I killed you and now I have this second chance, but time and events are still just slipping through my fingers.
I killed you, my love.
The emotional distance yaws between them as deep and dark as Coruscant’s chasms. Fives is smart. He could probably find Echo the same way he’s always been able to find anything, if Fox could bring himself to destroy any remaining goodwill between them by laying bare all his past and continuing failures.
He’s not that much of a masochist.

we all love the ‘rex calls ahsoka vod’ika, ahsoka calls rex ori’vod’ headcanon and yes, of course, but consider: ‘rex and ahsoka both insist on calling the other vod’ika’ due to a long-standing argument about which one of them is technically older

I like to think that when Ahsoka was still newish and young to the 501st Hardcase would get a neck cramp having to look down to talk to her so he started picking her up under her arm pits like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To have conversations.
Jesse also begins to do this and they both continue use this habit even as Ahsoka got older. Jesse picked Ahsoka up like this in Mandalore and the Night Owls were very confused to say the least

So Far Away: Part 1
Okay I keep reading the fics where Fox is named Dar’Vod after the Fives incident
And it keeps running in my head but imagine:
Rex, in the heat of his anger, calls Fox dar’vod and that’s the last he’s ever spoken to Fox when he’s alive
Their friendship is ruined and Rex, despite regretting the words, doesn’t try to fix the relationship and Fox throws himself into his work to avoid Cody’s prying of what happened
Well, the empire rises and Fox dies by Vader’s hand and Rex survives - guilt-filled - because Fives was right and he doesn’t know if that meant Fox was under the chip when he killed Fives or not and he never got to make amends and figure out the truth (and Rex knows it’s his fault and it’s just another burden added on that he’ll have to carry)
What I’m saying is: Fox stuck in a limbo, unable to march on because being named Dar’Vod means he is unwelcomed
And all the Vod’e - those who have died or are dying - pass him as they go to the Vod’e
Most All have tried to free him, tried to redact the title
Cody, most of all when he died, stated that the title was never meant to be given and Fox should be able to March on and yet when a barrier separates him from his vod’ika, he screams
Even Fives tried coming back to remove the title - talking with Fox for hours about he never blamed Fox for his death but still Fox cannot march on
It’s only when Boba (who died an unfortunate death by Vader earlier than he was meant to and knew a bit more of traditional Mando culture than his clone brothers) tells them only the person who gave Fox the title can remove it
And so the Vod’e wait
They wait and watch as more Vod join them
Echo (which was a cheerful reunion for the Domino squad)
Hunter (who got shot protecting Omega)
Omega (who took it upon herself to off herself to prevent the Empire using her - first thing she did was punch Boba for leaving her behind before learning of his unfortunate death which still makes her mad but not as much)
Howzer
Thire (the last of the Corries to have died but he gave a hell of a fight)
Bacara and Neyo
More and more and it dwindles to only four clones left
Gregor comes first, cackling and the 212th rejoice his return
Wolffe follows and he gets his Wolffepack back
Rex is stubborn though
He clings to life like it’s all he has, searching for the last clone because he refuses to leave a brother behind
Ahsoka helps him where she can, pointing him in directions that she can vaguely feel Kix but she has her own battles
And Rex searches
And he remembers
And regrets
And says his remembrances
He always includes Fox in his remembrance because while he was young in the war, time has brought a new perspective to their life and he knows that Fox was young too
Young and under the thumb of Palpatine
And so he searches and remembers and regrets

Obi-Wan has an uncanny ability to pass out drunk and wake up in beds he could never afford if he farmed krayt pearls for a living. Usually Bail’s with Cody spooning him post clone wars. Whether or not he was on the same planet as Bail when he passed out. Pampered princess.
Anakin can fall asleep fully sober and wake up on a pile of droid parts using Artoo’s front wheel as a pillow. He’s so fucking lucky that lil shit loves him and doesn’t roll forward taking a chunk of Ani’s hair with him. Padme is a starfish sleeper and Leia turns out to be one too so her and the twins are fine on their own if he’s comfy out there lmao. She’s half his size and takes up three times the bed space.
Quinlan doesn’t know where he is but this rock makes a real decent place to lay your head. Also that girl’s lap. Also that guy’s chest. He’s got options. He needs to cheat at sabacc and get a new ship.
Rex goes to bed peacefully in a chill room and under the covers feeling nice and cold and wakes up with either a vod’ika, or a purring Ahsoka on his chest. He’s being suffocated but these are his babies so it’s to be expected.
When Kenobi is sober (not to say he’s usually not just that drunk him is clearly a whole other ball park) Cody wakes up with him tight back against his chest and either chewing on Cody’s arm, or straight up sucking Cody’s thumb. Infant. Also purring and giving off happy Jedi feels so Cody let’s him what a baby.

i am a servant of the people and the people wanted more cody and ahsoka (YIPPIE) so here's the WIP i alluded to in my post order 66 AU brainstorm post hehe:
She found him a few months after he abandoned his post.
She was older than he remembered. He hadn’t seen her since she was sixteen, almost two years ago. Her leaving the Jedi temple had been the last time he’d ever seen her, her small form outlined by the sun as she walked away from the only path she’d ever known.
He and Rex had been waiting at the bottom of the stairs for their cue to go up and celebrate her return. He didn’t think he’d ever forget the look of shock and misery on Rex’s face when his vod’ika marched right past them, barely able to look them in the eyes.
She had the same look in her eyes now that she did then. Tired but not quite defeated. On the verge of something that could take her beyond the stars or crush her beneath its foot.
“Are you here to kill me?”
He’d hidden on Endor. It was far from his last known location and he had so many contacts courtesy of his time in the military that it had been easy to hire a ship to drop him off here. He’d had to switch vessels a few times, scrambling the codes just in case.
“No.”
Her sabers told a different story. They were white, not green like he remembered. Once upon a time he knew what that meant.
Regardless of the ghosts of the past, they were drawn, held in a defensive stance. He’d seen her fight countless times, knew how fast she could move, knew that once upon a time he could’ve stood a chance, but not now. He was too old, too achey, too strained from a lifetime of giving and receiving pain.
Ahsoka looked at him, the deep blue and stark white of her montrals standing out against the darkness that threatened to consume them both, “I wanted to see if it was true.”
“That I survived?”
“That you killed Obi-Wan Kenobi.”
Cody froze, the words like a punch to the gut. He’d heard the words repeated over and over. He’d been given a medal for his quick thinking and decisive action against the traitors of the Empire. He knew he did it. He knew.
Still, he couldn’t help but think of a smaller version of the girl in front of him, stepping off a transport fresh from Coruscant. His Jedi had been the first to welcome her, so desperately wanting another padawan, a chance to redeem himself from his failure the first time around. Cody didn’t know how many photos he himself had taken of Ahsoka flinging herself into a hug or the three of them huddled together around a battle station.
Cody raised his head high, his blaster still safely tucked away in its holder. If death came by her hand, it would be a merciful fate.
“I did.”
Wooley pulled the trigger. He fired the shot that sent Cody’s one and only hope tumbling down to his doom. But Cody gave the order. He knew well enough by now, after years of fighting, the responsibility lay with him.
Besides, Wooley was long gone by now. He’d left them ten hours later in a locked room with a blaster to his head.
“Then he’s really gone?” Ahsoka asked, a slight tilt to her head. He remembered that habit from a different lifetime.
“Yes,” Cody said, forcing himself to remain steady. He’d delivered news of grief before, it being full of his own should make no difference this time.
To his surprise, the glow of the sabers receded. For a moment it was just Cody and Ahsoka, both entangled in the darkness of the night on Endor, where even the stars could not pierce the thick foliage above their heads. Strange noises beckoned to them both, calls of relief from a life neither of them could believe had become their reality.
“I thought he left me.”
Cody couldn’t see her, but he could hear the choked agony behind her words.
“It was my fault,” he assured her.
The blue glow of a communications device appeared between them, held aloft in Ahsoka’s hand. On it stood the crisp clear vision of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
It was almost enough to bring Cody to his knees.
“This is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the Republic have fallen, with the dark shadow of the Empire rising to take their place. This message is a warning and a reminder for any surviving Jedi: trust in the Force. Do not return to the Temple. That time has passed, and our future is uncertain. Avoid Coruscant. Avoid detection. Be secret... but be strong. We will each be challenged: our trust, our faith, our friendships. But we must persevere and, in time, I believe a new hope will emerge. May the Force be with you, always.”
Cody felt a tear slip down his face. He knew. Somehow he’d known. He’d warned the rest, helped them get out and escape.
“I’m sorry,” Cody croaked, his voice full of ruin, “I’m so sorry.”
Ahsoka watched him, her eyes hard and unrelenting in the blue light. She had no sympathy for him.
“How did he get this message out if you killed him?”
Cody shook his head, his hands starting to shake, “I don’t know.”
“Where is his body?”
“We - we never found it,” air was coming to him with more and more difficulty. A hand came up to his chest, clutching at the phantom pain threatening to pulverize his heart. “The Emperor told us he had confirmation. He told us he was dead.”
“Why?” Ahsoka pressed, “Why assure you of something you could’ve found yourselves?”
Cody shook his head again, “I don’t know.”
Something was wrong with him. It had become more and more like this now that the war was done and it was just him alone with his mind. He’d hear the snap of a twig and lock down his hideout, thinking battle droids had discovered his location. He’d see his reflection in the mirror late at night on accident and jump, thinking the rest of his brothers had finally found him, that they were going to drag him back there and make him like them.
Make him blank. Make him devoid of himself. Make him into a tool.
“Aayla Secura,” Ahsoka began in a cold voice, her wrath turning its focus to him, “Luminara Unduli, Shaak Ti, Ki Adi Mundi, Stass Allie, Plo Koon. All dead because of your brothers.”
Bly…gods above Bly. Cody prayed he wasn’t the one. He prayed he wasn’t the one that took the shot. And Wolffe - Cody couldn’t imagine what Wolffe would’ve done. Did do upon waking. Upon experiencing that horrible moment of vertigo that the 212th had felt all together. Experiencing a single moment of tethered grief, hours delayed though it might have been.
A noise of raw pain escaped Cody’s lips. It was wordless, not a cry or proclamation, but a tiny noise that any passersby would’ve assumed to be a wounded or hurt animal.
“My family,” Ahsoka’s voice was shaking, “I have to keep them alive. So I need to know - is Obi-Wan Kenobi’s name one I should add to my list?”
Cody squeezed his eyes shut and nodded. He knew. He knew it in his heart. If Obi-Wan Kenobi had survived, the Emperor would not have told him in person of his death. Those cold hands, unnaturally pale and scarred, would not have pressed a smooth medal of honor onto his uniform. He wouldn’t have had to hold back stuttering breaths as a coldness choked him, the knowledge that his light, his love, his one hope in this galaxy, was forever out of his reach threatening to take him under.
And it was his fault.
“You’re supposed to be dead,” Cody croaked, finally opening his eyes to look at Ahsoka, “An entire venator went down to make sure of it.”
Ahsoka’s face darkened, some twisted grief taking hold of her, “I know.”
Cody knew what that meant. She’d been aboard. She’d seen it go down. She’d watched them all die. All of her friends, her soldiers, the men that she ate with everyday for two and half years, the men she served with and grew alongside of. They were as much her family as the Jedi were.
He didn’t want to ask about Rex. He didn’t want to see what it would do to either of them.
“So what now?” Cody asked, scrambling to regain some sense of the commander in him. The version of him that could do this without a permanent tremor in his left hand, without attacks of panic and confusion, without the fog that hung over him as his now constant companion.
Ahsoka squared her shoulders and gods she really was young, wasn't she? Just eighteen years old and here she was, throwing herself into the maw of something Cody didn’t think he’d ever fully understand.
“Do you have somewhere we can talk?” The request threw him off guard, but he nodded and turned around.
He was surprised when she fell into lockstep beside him.
They were almost the same height now.
Cody moved through the thick underbelly of the forest. He’d long since learned the pathways different prey animals took, knowing that was the safest way without cutting clear paths for his enemies to follow. Ahsoka followed him easily, her natural traits helping her move silently through the brush in a way he never could.
They didn’t speak on their way to his shelter. Both were thrumming with questions, fears, anxieties that were best not spoken aloud where the trees could hear. They had been trained too well and for too long to do something so stupid as that.
Cody had managed to make a small adobe style domicile. They’d taught all sorts of shelter making on Kamino and it had served him well, allowing him to dig out a small space and form a dome over top out of mud and clay that he’d already excavated. It was small, only one room, but the two of them sat comfortably. Cody got to work on the fire, waiting for Ahsoka to speak.
“Have you ever had a brain scan done?”
Cody thought for a moment, trying to remember.
“Probably at some point.”
“What level?”
Cody looked at her curiously, not understanding the point of this, “I’ve never had an injury that constituted anything above level 2, if that’s what you’re asking.”
Ahsoka blew out a breath, for the first time looking nervous.
A spark caught, quickly taking to the dried grass and sticks Cody used as kindling.
“You remember Fives.”
It wasn’t a question. They both knew Cody would never forget any of the Domino squad, not for as long as he lived.
“He was right.”
Cody looked up at Ahsoka. Her expression was serious, not that he’d expected it to be anything else.
“About what?”
Ahsoka’s hand went up to one of her lekku, before twitching and falling back to her lap. Cody knew what she’d been searching for anyway.
“There are chips inside of your heads,” Ahsoka said slowly, “Not the behavioral ones. Another. It was meant to be activated when - when the time was right.”
Cody’s stomach dropped.
“The Jedi didn’t betray the Republic,” Ahsoka said, “And you didn’t betray them. The Emperor took control of your heads. Order 66 was an activation code, one you couldn’t have stopped even if you wanted to.”
Cody felt like the floor had fallen out from beneath him. Judging by the look on Ahsoka’s face, he looked like it too.
“Cody…it wasn’t your fault.”
Tears stung his eyes, threatening to fall. He knew if that happened, it wouldn’t stop, and he’d never appeared weak in front of Ahsoka before. She was a child and had already been through too much.
His shoulders slumped, like Cody had been strung tight on a wire that was just now being cut. His whole body shook, his breaths coming in stuttering stop-starts and his eyes flicking to every dark corner that the fire couldn’t quite reach.
He couldn’t have stopped it if he wanted to.
It was always going to be like this.
There was never a future where he and Obi-Wan were going to be happy.
“I’m sorry,” Ahsoka said, her voice small and defeated, “Your family are victims just as much as mine.”
The whole venator went down with her. The whole venator went down and she was trapped aboard with an army of mindless killers. The whole venator went down and his baby brother was on it, trapped inside the walls of his own head, holding a blaster to the girl he’d once told Cody he’d never let any harm come to.
“Oh gods,” Cody choked out, “Oh gods.”
The pain threatened to take him. His chest was almost painful in its hollowness, his stomach roiling with nausea and hurt. His people, his brothers. Slaves to the great conductor of a broken symphony. Mindless, used against their will. Nothing more than weapons to be aimed and fired at whoever dared oppose the Empire.
They were nothing.
They had always been nothing.
“Cody,” a hand settled on his knee, and from it warmth escaped. For the first time in months, Cody felt something other than cold. “They’re waking up. Your brothers are waking up. There’s a movement -”
“Stop it,” Cody snapped, though the effect was lost as his tears finally began to spill, “I don’t - just stop.”
Ahsoka withdrew her hand and it took everything in Cody not to keen at the loss of heat.
He didn’t want to fight anymore. He was tired, too tired to ever take up command again.
How many had he seen die? Did none of it matter? They were just pawns, just pieces of a game to be moved around in order to undermine the Jedi. His entire existence was there to hurt the Jedi. The Jedi - the only ones who ever gave a semblance of a shit about them. And the whole point of the clones’ existence was to murder them in cold blood.
“Rex wants to see you.”
Cody’s entire being froze.
“He doesn’t know I found you. He’s been looking for you since Crosshair defected and told us you left.”
Crosshair defected.
“Wolffe too. He and Rex joined up a while back. Pretty sure one of your old commanders is with them.”
Boil? No, Boil was still with the Empire working as a scout.
It didn’t matter, he reminded himself, he put himself here for a reason. Whatever life he lived from here on out, he deserved.
“Cody,” Ahsoka called his attention again and this time when Cody looked at her, she looked scared. It took him a moment to work out that she was scared for him. “Rex is alive. I took him off the ship with me. His chip is gone, he’s okay.”
Cody stood abruptly, stumbling outside and making it a mere three steps from the doorway before throwing up. He shook, his hands on his knees, as he gagged and spit, his mind and body revolting against him in a horrible display of unity.
A hand rubbed over his back, the way Ponds used to do oh so long ago. Back when module scores and breaking curfew were their tallest troubles. Did they have the chips even then? Were they doomed from the start? How cruel, to never even let them begin before deciding how they would end.
“Can I tell him you’re here?” Ahsoka’s voice was soft and concerned. She sounded kind. It made him want to slam his fist into something. “He’s worried. They both are.”
Cody shook his head no. He didn’t deserve to get to have that, not when so many of his brothers were alone and drifting. Not when Obi-Wan, his general, his Jedi, his sweetheart, lay broken and defeated at the hands of a force neither of them could escape.
No, his fate would be the same as the rest of the galaxy’s. He would not allow himself the tenderness of brotherhood, not after all he’d done in the name of nothing.
“Go,” Cody croaked, his voice hoarse from bile and tears, “They’ll find you if you stay.”
Ahsoka’s hand didn’t pull away, “He misses you. He misses his big brother.”
That was playing fucking dirty and she knew it.
“Go,” Cody said more forcefully, “Get out of here.”
“And where will you go?” Ahsoka asked gently, “When they come knocking, where will you run to?”
“I won’t,” Cody panted, “I’ll accept it.”
There was a deep sigh from behind him. Cody didn’t take back his words. He didn’t want to lie to her, not after all she’d been through at their hands.
“I’m going to keep looking for Obi-Wan,” some of the strength returned to Ahsoka’s voice, “I don’t think he’s dead, so there must be a reason he’s still hidden. If you joined me, he might -”
“No,” Cody said quickly, spitting one last time and standing back to his full height, “I’m not doing that to myself.”
“Cody -”
“Ahsoka,” Cody turned to face her, his hands coming to rest on her shoulders. He was once again struck by how warm she was, “He’s gone. By my hand or the Emperor’s. I can’t - I can’t let myself think otherwise. I can’t pin my hope on a lie.”
Ahsoka stepped closer to him, a furrow appearing between her eyebrows. It reminded him of Skywalker. “It’s not a lie. He escaped long enough to get a message out. If he’d known before he would’ve said something to someone, would’ve at least had you de-chipped. If his body had been at the temple we would’ve found it, it would’ve been reported. But all that remained of him was this message.”
Cody shook his head. He couldn’t do this to himself. He couldn’t let himself think these things.
“Come with me. Just for a little bit. If we find something, stay longer, if not I’ll drop you right back here.”
Cody scrubbed a hand over his face, wincing at the dirt and sweat rough underneath his palm.
“I won’t even tell Rex.”
Cody sighed and looked at her. She looked earnest, at least. Not as defensive and angry as earlier.
“Please,” he suddenly realized Ahsoka was begging, “come with me.”
Cody looked down at her, considering. “How long have you been on your own?”
It seemed he hit the nail on the head. Ahsoka’s face fell, just for a moment, before she recovered her composure. It reminded him of Obi-Wan.
“Rex and I split up after the venator,” she admitted, “I tried civilian life for a while, but everywhere I went people died. It’s been a while.”
Since she left the temple the first time, Cody translated for himself.
Cody looked down at her, weighing his options. He didn’t believe Obi-Wan was alive. Even his general could not escape death in its entirety. But Ahsoka was on a crash course. She was smart, dedicated, and clever enough to find him and keep tabs on Rex’s operation. She was also angry and alone, left behind by people she’d once turned her back on. Her guilt likely matched or exceeded his.
Cody breathed out slowly, “Two months.”
Ahsoka’s eyes widened.
“That’s all I can promise.”
Ahsoka nodded, “That’s fine. I’ll take it.”
And then he was being forcefully dragged into a hug.
She was finally tall enough that Cody could rest his chin in the space between her montrals. He wondered distantly if she’d outgrow him one day, before remembering how Shaak Ti towered over them all and decided that was very likely. He couldn’t tell which one of them was shaking harder, but decided to ignore it. This was the first time in months he’d allowed himself to touch anyone beyond a handshake here or there.
“You’re warm,” Ahsoka murmured into his chest, a soft sigh escaping her, “I don’t remember the last time I was warm.”
Cody’s eyes widened, but he said nothing. Just ran a hand over her lekku in the best display of comfort he could give.
“Two months,” Cody whispered, “I can only promise that.”
“It’ll be enough,” Ahsoka’s hands clenched in the back of Cody’s clothes. He understood what she wasn’t saying.
It’ll have to be enough.

Meanwhile in the middle of a campaign at night, at the republic camp, everyone sitting around the fire:
Fives: I’m curious, what is your type commander?
Ahsoka: Hm? [Confused look]
Fives: What’s your type?
Ahsoka: OH! Type O-
Fives: ???
Ahsoka: Didn’t you ask for my blood type?
Fives: Uhhh..
Rex: [Threateningly glaring across the fire at Fives, daring him to even think about explaining attraction to their 14 year old vod’ika]
Fives nervous that Rex is about to kill him: Yeah.. Uh mine’s O-
Ahsoka even more confused: You all have AB+..

* crawls out of the clone wars fandom wood work* Hello, hi, saw your post about omega and rex and comparing the comand batch and bad batch and I wanna know about the fox and rex thoughts *skitters back in*
The Post in Question
THANK YOU! Listen, in my head Fox and Rex had a somewhat complicated relationship, even before all the shit with Ahsoka and Fives went down.
So, I headcanon that Fox, much like Rex, had a mutation that made his hair lighter than his brothers’. His was more red or russet in color, which was part of how he got his name. This placed a lot of pressure on Fox from a young age and a lingering paranoia surrounding decommissioning. He compensated for this by becoming a perfectionist and more cynical/standoffish than many of the other clones (this is something that would only get worse on Coruscant).
When Rex first joined their batch, Fox was very brusque with him, almost callous in his treatment. Rex initially kind of idolized him because he saw a lot of similarities between the two of them. Fox wanted nothing to do with him for much the same reason. He didn’t want to be reminded that he was different, that he had the Kaminoans breathing down his neck, and that one wrong move could mean the end of his short life. Fox was also scared to get attached since he was convinced that Rex would be decommissioned or otherwise taken away. He additionally didn’t appreciate the increased scrutiny Rex placed both on their squad and particularly the kid himself by tagging along with them. Of course, he never outright admitted any of this (because Fox is terrible at using his words, second only to Wolffe) so he just came off as a major asshole for the first few weeks/months of Rex being around.
Eventually Rex did worm his way into Fox’s guarded little heart and by the end, he was just as much his vod’ika as any of the others. Fox still has a tendency to push him a bit hard though, transferring a lot of his own insecurities and coping mechanisms surrounding decommissioning onto Rex. This causes some friction between the two of them, especially as things get more tense between the GAR and the Guard. Still, they both enjoyed the rare missions they got to serve together on Coruscant, although Rex did notice his brother getting more and more withdrawn as time went on.
Oh, and Fox also jokingly calls Rex “the CT” in conversation. It started as a way to put distance between them and keep himself detached when they were kids, but over time it became a term of endearment.
I also headcanon that Fox is the one Rex goes to for serious advice. Obviously he’s much closer with Cody, but Cody has a tendency to take on too much, to try and shield him or spare him. Fox is the opposite. He’s blunt and to the point with his advice, not because he doesn’t care, but precisely because he does. He doesn’t sugarcoat things because the way he sees it, the more information he gives you and the more straightforward he is with it, the better he’s preparing you. He’s evasive and uninvolved with people he doesn’t like, it’s a mark of affection if he’s actually forthright with you. Sometimes that’s exactly what Rex needs.

I was having some post Padawan Lost and Wookie Hunt feels so I decided to give a lil snippet from the after math in my au :)
Ahsoka felt Fives’ bright and ecstatic presence before she saw him. By the time he shoved through the blast doors to the hangar he already had to duck to avoid the ceiling. Upon laying eyes on her he let out a cheer and charged towards her.
With each step he seemed to grow taller until he was right in front of her. He crashed down to his knees to hug her, lifting her off the ground completely.
She let out a breathless laugh as he squeezed her, she was grateful for the pain medication the Jedi healers had given her for her bruised ribs and claw marks.
“You scared the osik out of us commander.” He told her. “If you ever do that again I swear to the Maker.”
Ahsoka huffed a laugh as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
“I don’t plan on it any time soon.”
“Alright, Fives let her down so the rest of us can see her.” Jesse barked.
Fives lifted one hand to flip his brother off but gently set her back down onto the floor. She was quickly swept up into another embrace by the scout. Over Jesse’s shoulder she saw that Rex had taken up a place beside her master. He was standing formally but had a small smile on his face as he watched her. She also noted that he was currently a couple inches taller than Anakin.
Fives hadn’t regained enough control to fully shrink back down to his regular size so he stayed seated on the floor as she recounted what had happened to her.
-
Ahsoka followed Rex to his office and private bunk, occasionally stopping to greet a trooper as they went. The force rang with happiness and relief throughout the barracks, they really had missed her after she’d been taken. That knowledge made her warm inside.
Rex palmed the door open, quickly shucking off his vambraces and chestplate as she leaned out to wave to Ridge.
As soon as she stepped into the room and shut the door, she was swiftly swept up into another embrace. The sound of a desk sliding across the floor and the clang of something heavy hitting the durasteel wall filled the room as Rex’s oversized knees shoved furniture out of the way. One arm supported her while his other hand was wrapped around her middle as he clutched her to his chest. Only now did she see how tightly he’d been keeping his emotions under control seeing as he was large enough to completely fill the room now that they were alone.
She flung her arms across his chest.
“I’m alright Rex, I’m here.”
She felt his head shake next to her.
“We looked for you for days vod’ika, but all we found were your kriffing lightsabers. We didn’t know where you were or what had happened or if you were even still…” his voice faltered and his hand around her clenched.
She pushed back enough to see his face.
“I survived. Thanks to Anakin and to you all, if you hadn’t trained with me as much as you all have, I don’t think I would have made it. But I did and I helped two other padawans make it home to.” Ahsoka attempted to keep her face straight as Kalifah’s face flashed to the front of her mind. “So thank you Rex, for all you’ve done for me.”
The captains force signature sang as he tucked her back against his shoulder.
Ahsoka let the the warmth around her seep into her mind and calm her, the part of her brain that had been on survival mode finally relaxed and a bone-deep tired took its place.
“Are you going to let go anytime soon?” She asked around a yawn.
“No.” Rex answered. “Not after that karkshow.”
“Good because I think I’m too tired to stand.”
His chuckle rumbled through her whole body.
Slowly the ache in her middle began to make itself present again. She winced when Rex’s thumb ran over her side, right over a couple of claw marks courtesy of the trandoshans.
He must have felt her tense because his grip quickly loosened.
“Are you alright?” He asked, pulling her back a little bit.
“I’m fine, just a few parting gifts from the Trandoshians.” She told him with a sheepish smile.
His Force signature flashed with rage as he carefully set her back down onto the floor. When she stumbled he was quick to fit his hand back around her middle to keep her upright.
“What happened?” He asked.

Shore leave (Tup x OC)
Warning(s): alcohol, talking about sex, mention(s) of sex aaaaaand I guess that's it, no Devil's tango in this one
Word count: 3407
Summary: A night in the 79s, our sweet boy Tup and Fives, who is more than happy to help out his Vod'ika with matters of the heart.
Tumblr media
They only had a couple of days to rest from the exhaustion of their previous mission and no doubt the boys of the 501st tried to make the most of it. Most of them – Fives, most of them is Fives - were eager for Rex to say the magic words and were more than ready to jump into the Coruscant night. When they finally got permission, they all headed in the familiar direction of 79s. All except one. Tup stood there looking at his leaving brothers, listening to there laughter as they walked away. He did not feel like going, the last mission was not a success in his eyes. Of course, it had been carried out and the report said it was successful, but he didn't feel that way. He felt he had not done enough and what he had done was not enough. Even after what happened at Umbara, sometimes he still felt like a shiney.
He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even notice that someone was sneaking up on him.
“And why aren’t you on your way to 79s?” asked Fives throwing his arm over his shoulder.
“I don’t really feel like going…”
“Come on Tup! This is our first shore leave in forever!” he protested pulling Tup closer to him. “Don’t be a kill joy.”
“I…” the younger man started but all in vain.
“Nope! Not hearing it! I’m deaf to anything that doesn’t sound like; Let’s go Fives, it’ll be fun!”
Tup knew there was no point in arguing with Fives. He just hoped that the ARC Trooper would quickly look at the bottom of his glass or disappear with a pretty woman and he could come back and sleep in his bed before the others stumbled home drunk.
They'd been in the bar for two hours, but Fives did not leave his side. He really did get it into his head that come hell or high-water Tup would have a good time, even if he didn't know it yet. Or wanted to. It was his turn to get drinks for the group – even though he thought Jesse didn’t need more, nor did Kix – so he walked towards the bar with a sigh.
“What am I even doing here?” he asked himself as he waited for the drinks. It was a busy night; he was sure he would be standing there for more than a few minutes.
“Well, you're certainly not having fun.” he heard a cheerful voice.
He turned his head in the direction of the voice and when he came face to face with its owner, he could only blink rapidly. A togruta woman was standing next to him, if he drank more, say as much as Jesse, he would have mistaken her for Commander Tano. The woman had a skin tone maybe a couple of shades darker than Ahsoka, her face was decorated with white marks, the stripes on her lekku were dark purple and her dark forest green eyes that seem to have seen into his soul. She was wearing a green top almost the same shade as her eyes, leather pants, and boots with heels Tup couldn't imagine anyone could walk on.
He stared at her for a moment before he remembered that he should reply.
“Why do you think I'm not having fun?” he cleared his throat.
“Well, you see” she leaned on the counter. Tup, the Maker sees his soul, tried not to stare at her chest, but a moment of weakness took over him. He felt his face heat up and looked back at the woman’s face embarrassed waiting for a slap in the face, but she either didn’t notice him gawking at her breasts or didn’t care. “they are having fun” she pointed towards the table where is brothers sat shouting and laughing. “you on the other hand” she looked back at him with those mesmerising green eyes. “not so much. You look like someone who doesn’t even want to be here.”
“Is it that obvious?” he asked, rubbing the back of his neck. She only shrugged her shoulder with a small smile. “I’m Tup." he held out his hand to her.
“Zani.”
“We are dying of thirst vod’ika.” he felt Fives’ arm wrap around his shoulder and he couldn’t have sounded more dramatic even if he wanted to. “What takes you so…” then his eyes settled on the woman standing next to his brother. “long. Oh.” he looked at Tup who felt like his face was on fire. “Oh!” he repeated more excited, and Tup wanted to sink into the floor. “I see.” he said with a smirk pulling his little brother closer. “Won’t you introduce your lovely friend?”
“Fives, she is Zani, Zani, my brother Fives.” he muttered not looking at either of them.
“Pleasure” Fives said with a little nod still with his arm still around Tup. “Leave the drinks to me, I see you have more important things to do.” he said with a shit-eating grin which made Tup wanting to punch him in the face. Zani just stood there looking at the two men with an amused smile sipping her drink. They were identical, like all clones – except for a couple, she was lucky enough to meet clone force 99, they were a fun lot to be around – but they couldn’t be more different personality wise. Fives was cocky and confident, Tup on the other hand was cautious, a bit shy and she found it adorable.
“I” Tup started to protest but Fives didn’t let him.
“Would you mind if I stole my little brother for a moment?” he looked at Zani who could hardly hold back a little chuckle.
“But not for too long.” she replied and if she thought Tup’s face couldn’t get any redder, Maker she was wrong. Fives just gave her his signature smile and pulled Tup a couple of steps away.
“What now?” asked Tup while looking at his brother.
“I must ask you because you are my vod; what do you want to do? Because it’s clear as day what she wants.”
“Is it?”
“Yes, it is! She came to you, right? Started the small talk, all that.”
“Yeah, yes, she did.”
“She likes you.” said Fives with a wide grin. “So, all you need to do is…”
“Nothing.” he sighed, and Fives gave him a puzzled look.
“What? Why?” Tup didn’t answer and really started to wish that he didn’t listen to Fives and stayed back in the barracks. “Tup?”
“I… She would lose interest soon. I’m not… Kriff I don’t know what to do in situations like that.” he blurted out.
“You want to say that…”
“Yes, Fives!” he interrupted before his brother could finish.
“But that’s not your first shore leave.” the ARC trooper pressed.
“Yeah, but I’m not you.” Tup whispered so quietly Fives could barely here.
“What is that supposed to mean?” he looked at the younger clone with raised eyebrows.
“You are confident, you go and flirt with women, almost talking them out of their panties, I can’t do that. I tried, but I am not like that, I start rambling and babbling and say some bantha shit and… I can’t.” he ranted louder and louder, than took a deep breath. “So, after a while, I stopped trying… So I’ve never… And I don’t want to…” he bit his lover lip.
“Disappoint her.” Fives finished and Tup just nodded. Fives looked at his brother with sympathy. He remembered what it was like to be out here for a first couple of times. If there wasn’t for that very… confident twi’lek woman, Vetra, who introduced both him and Echo – separately, they were brothers after all – to the world of “bedroom rodeo”, he doesn’t think he would have had enough courage to initiate anything for a good while. “You trust me?” he didn’t even wait for Tup to answer and started to walk towards Zani.
“What? Fives what are you…? Wait! Don’t! Fives!” but it was late, Fives was already at the woman’s side who looked at him with a questioning look.
“Now I want to steal you for a moment if you’d let me.” he thrown his arm around Zani’s shoulder but when the woman gave him a death stare, he let her go. No touching, he didn't need to be told twice, or in that case looked at that way twice.
“Everything’s alright?” she asked looking back at Tup who looked like he wanted to murder his brother. In a very slow and painful way.
“Yeah, aaammm. I need to talk to you about my dear vod’ika over there. You see…”
“Little brother?” she looked at him with a small smile.
“You speak mando’a?” his eyes were comically wide as he looked at her.
“If you spend enough time in 79s you pick up a thing or two.” she shrugged and drank from her glass. “So, what’s wrong with your vod’ika?”
“He is scared of disappointing you.” Fives answered, he didn’t see any point of dancing around it.
“I beg your pardon?”
“He thinks that because he is inexperienced in, well this, the whole ordeal, he will disappoint you.”
“I see. And you” she tilted her head running her fingers down on one of her lekku. “, his ori’vod came to the rescue.”
“I just want him to have a good time, to be happy. So just…”
“Fives, I’m not like the other women he tried to charm so far.” she said a small smile still playing on her lips and it just got bigger when the clone looked at him with wide eyes. “As I said, I’ve been around. I really want to know Tup better not just jump on his bones.”
“Great! Good! I mean, yeah sure! Even better!” Fives didn’t remember the last time he was rambling like a cadet like that.
“So, if you don’t mind…”
“Tup, get your shebs here!” he shouted for the younger trooper. “Just be yourself.” Fives whispered into his brother’s ear as he walked away.
Tup looked at Zani who smiled at him than put up two fingers showing the droid behind the counter that they needed more drinks. She was beautiful, no one could deny it. Everything about her attracted Tup, especially her eyes.
“What did Fives say?” he asked after they got their drinks.
“Nothing that I didn’t know before.” she answered clicking their glasses together.
“Really?” Tup looked at him with wide eyes which made Zani smile.
She thought he was adorable in many ways. She saw him many times here and always wanted to come to him and talk but at the end by the time she mustered up some courage he either went up to another woman or has already left. She saw him get rejected time after time and she always wanted to shout at those women for turning away such a sweet man. She liked that he wasn’t as loud as his brothers, she loved that little bun on top of his head, and she wanted to know the story behind the tear drop tattoo under his right eye. She wanted to know everything about him.
“Really.” she smiled at him which he returned and felt much calmer than before.
They talked about everything and anything, the war, Tup growing up on Kamino, why she preferred 79s over every single bar on Coruscant. They drank, talked, laughed and Tup has never felt more liberated before.
“Don’t look at them but your brothers are staring.” Zani said with an amused smile.
“I would say I am surprised but I’m not. Probably waiting for me to do something.” he sighed and shook his head. Zani reached for his hand on the counter and stroked the back of his gloved hand with her thumb.
“You want to do something?”
“Like… Like what?” he asked looking at his hand which she was holding.
“Do you want to kiss me?” Tup's breath caught in his chest and felt blush creeping up on his neck, but he answered without hesitation.
“Yes.” he breathed out. That was all that Zani needed she moved her left hand to Tup's cheek and pressed her lips to his. Tup closed his eyes and was almost too lost in the feeling to hear his brothers cheering for him from the back. But he didn’t care, he didn’t feel embarrassed, he only cared about Zani, her lips on his, her smooth palm on his face. But Zani heard them, and she got an idea. She pulled away a little from Tup, who tried to lean in so that their lips could touch again.
“Hands on my hips pretty boy.” she whispered onto his lips and kissed him again now a bit more feverishly than before. Tup, who blushed even more because of the nickname did as he was told, putting his hands on her hips and then pulled her to him. A surprised noise left Zani’s lips but when the shock wore off, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him even closer.
The cheering behind them got louder which made the woman smile into the kiss, then she licked Tup’s lower lip asking for entrance which he gave her without a second thought. As she deepened the kiss Tup felt like his heart would jump out of his chest his pulse was quick like when he was on the battlefield, but it was different, it felt nice, the feeling that embraced him just like Zani’s arms was nothing like anything he had felt before. He never wanted it to be over, never wanted to let her go even though he knew it wasn’t possible. She pulled away again, but just barely, resting her forehead against his as they both panted a little.
“Will you walk me home?” she asked caressing the back of his neck.
“I’d walk with you to the edge of the Galaxy if you’d want me to.” he replied and looked at her like she was the most beautiful thing he saw in his life.
“Home will be enough for now.” she smiled at him, then gave him a quick peck on his lips and started leading him by the hand towards the exit. Tup heard a really faint Come on, Tup! Get some! from a very very very drunk Jesse and cheers from the others. He knew he wouldn’t hear the end of it the next day, but he couldn’t care less about it.
After Tup convinced Zani that he had received speeder training and could drive the machine for long periods of time without crashing into anything, even after a few drinks, she allowed him to drive the vehicle. She sat behind him as he drove, wrapping her arms around his waist, resting her chin on his shoulder, and telling him where to go. She didn't live far away, but as he'd told her in the bar, it felt much safer than walking alone at night and he couldn’t agree more.
“Zani darling!” an old halaisi woman walked up to them as they got of the speeder.
“Maree.” she hugged the old lady tight.
“Oh, sweet girl, you were away for a long time from Coruscant, I was worried you’d never come back.” said Maree with sad eyes, still holding Zani’s hands.
“But Maree you know I was away for my training, I told you I would come back.” she said with a small chuckle. “I won’t gone anywhere for a while.”
“I’m happy to hear that, and look!” she looked at Tup. “What a handsome young man you've got for yourself.”
“I did, didn’t I?” she looked at Tup with a fond smile. “Maree, he is Tup.”
“Pleased to meet you ma’am.” he said with a nod and a small, shy smile.
“Respectful, I like that.” the old woman looked at Tup with approval.
“Maree is like a mother to me.” Zina explained to Tup.
“Mother? Grandmother, maybe, an old woman like me.” she said rolling her golden eyes. “Now, I won’t keep you up children. Have fun! Maker knows you need it.” she looked up at Zani with a suggestive look.
“Maree!” she scolded the old woman while her face stared to get redder, but the old lady, as if she had not heard it, said good night, and walked away.
“What training?” Tup asked as they walked towards her apartment.
“Medical.” she answered looking for her key card. “I wanted to help and in a war like this, you, your brothers, the jedi and the civilians need it.” Tup admired her for wanting to help, but the thought of her being anywwhere near the battlefield made his throat tighten. “That’s me.” she stopped next to one of the doors.
“I…”
“Tup.” she stopped him before the trooper could say anything. “I want you to stay with me tonight. We don’t have to do anything, I just… I want you to stay with me.”
“I will” he nodded, and she kissed him. When they got in, she put down her handbag on the small table next to the door and took of her boots. Without the heels she was almost a head smaller than him, and it made him smile.
“If you make fun of my height…” she said with a stern expression on her face.
“I had not dared to think of such a thing.” Tup said with a small smile, wrapping her arms around her hips and kissing her on her forehead.
“Good.” she kissed him on his cheek and stepped away. “Get of your boots and armour, I’ll get you something you can sleep in.” While Tup was getting rid of his armour, Zani looked for a bigger shirt and a pair of pants and pulled out a nightgown for herself. “These should be good.” she gave him the clothes after they walked into the bedroom. He was only wearing his blacks and she was still wearing all her clothes.
“Why do you have these?” he looked at the shirt that for the first look was even big for him and the pants that for sure weren’t for women. They looked a bit like the pants they wore on Kamino when they were cadets.
“They are comfortable, I like wearing them around the house.” she said with a shrug and started to get rid of her top than freeze in the middle of her movement. “Sorry, I…”
“It’s okay.” he whispered and started to get of the top of his blacks. They started to undress in front of each other, but when Zani stood completely naked before Tup, the man couldn’t move. “Mesh’la” he breathed out and Zani bit her lover lip. She heard other clones say it to women in the 79s and she knew what it meant.
“Wanted to say the same thing.” looking Tup up and down. She wanted him and she knew for sure from the outline of his half-hardened cock in his blacks that he wanted her too, but not tonight. She promised that she wouldn’t do anything he wasn’t ready for, and she’d keep this promise no matter how bad that throbbing between her legs got. When they finally got dressed, she walked up to him and with her slender fingers, she found the bun on the top of the man's head. “Can I?” Tup just nodded, but she didn't need more than that, she pulled the band out of his hair. His thick brown hair reached down to his chin, framing his perfect face. “You are beautiful.” she said brushing his lower lip with her thumb that the man kissed. “Let’s get you to bed trooper.” she said with a smile pulling him towards her bed.
They were talking for hours. Tup was laying on his back, his fingers caressing her lekku as she laid her head on his chest, hugging him. He told her how scared he was on Umbara, about the missions since, how he wanted to see Dogma again, how much Fives pissed him of sometimes. Everything. He felt safe, felt like he could share his deepest secrets with her and she wouldn’t judge her, for being scared and feeling weak. After a while they both slowly fell asleep in each others arms.
And in the 79s a very satisfied Fives smirked under his nose, downing his last drink. Have a good night vod’ika.

If order 66 didn’t happen and Ahsoka spent more time with the 332nd I am convinced she would have snuck into their barracks and repainted their helmets to put their personal symbols back on them. Rex wakes up to his 332nd helmet painted with blue jaig eyes interlocking with the diamond pattern. He turns around to see Jesse grinning over his own bucket. Jesse turns it over and there’s the Republic symbol. Every other clone who had an individualised helmet also reports their symbol magically appeared on their new helmet.

Clone Wars Headcannons
All over the place but yeah enjoy
Ahsoka will let her men test out pick up lines before shore leave and give them tips on how to better pick up girls
Ahsoka picked up her eye rolling habit from Wolffe
Fives and Echo refer to Rex as “oh captain my captain” (Rex is very annoyed)
Clone troopers sleep better when they cuddle up with someone
Anakin has given Ahsoka and many of his men heart attacks when he randomly removes his prosthetic hand
There are painted line of the Resolutes floor near the medical bays to mark how far troopers have made it when they attempt to escape the medics
This usually ends with the medics full body tackling their vod and occasionally their Jedi
Hardcase has the furthest mark with Fives very near behind him
Much to Wolffe’s dismay young animals love to imprint of him during campaigns, he says he hates it but Sinker once saw Wolffe carrying around a baby loth cat wrapped in one of his blankets
Rex is a natural blonde due to a mutation and I will die on this hill
Fox and Wolffe have the highest spice tolerance of their batch and their brothers are very concerned for them
Based on the scene in the Umbara arc where Tup is hanging onto the gunship handle with 2 hands, he is a very nervous flier
Ahsoka noticed that Tup was a nervous flier and now tries to get on the same ships as him to help keep him calm
The 501st has different tallies up throughout the barracks for random things like ‘how many times the general loses his lightsaber’, ‘best quotes for the week’, etc
Clone troopers speak mando’a, kaminoan, and basic fluently
Rex always wins arm wrestling contests, even against Anakin
Ahsoka learned how to play sabacc from the Wolf Pack and has been banned from playing in most 501st circles because she always wins
The CCs have the ability to sleep with their eyes open and Wolffe and Fox actively chose to do so to creep everyone else out
Cody has broken his wrists and his shins from fist fighting droids but he continues to do it
Many troopers in the 501st have also attempted to fist fight droids but quickly stopped when the medics refused to treat them
Anakin has also attempted to fist fight droids and damaged his cybernetic hand enough that he had to get a new one
Ahsoka purrs when she sleeps close to other people
Hardcase almost cried when he first heard Ahsoka purr because he thought it was cutest damn thing
Capture the flag is the 501st’s favorite down time activity
Cody has hidden drugs in Obi-Wan’s tea to make him sleep which Obi-Wan was rather offended by but continued to accept all tea given to him by his commander
Ahsoka set up a projector in the rec room and on hyper space trips she plays holomovies so her men can be ‘cultured’
Ahsoka is good friends with Padme and Riyo Chuchi and regularly gets together with them for girls nights
Rex has gotten a tattoo while drunk but Cody is the only one that knows about it
Ahsoka found out when her men’s birthday or decanting days are and makes sure to wish them a happy birthday
Ponds, Bly, and Fox were very confused when they received a transmission from Rex, Cody, and Wolffe’s vod’ika wishing them a happy birthday

So y’all remember the Clone Witness Protection Program including Dogma in this post with Pt. 2, this Fives one, and Fox learning about Thorn’s death:
Okay but just imagine one of Fox’s batchmates (maybe Rex even though he’s not a batchmate but he’s an honorary one) having to be put in this program
If it’s Rex, he has to deal with pretending he’s dead and can’t talk to any of his Vod in the 501st anymore as well as watching as Anakin wrecks shit up because you know Anakin wouldn’t accept Rex’s death
Much like he barely accepting Obi-wan’s fake death and Ahsoka leaving
Rex who had beef with Fox for no reason other than he believed Fives did by his hand because that’s what they had shown to the public and his distrust of the Coruscant Guard in general
Rex who refuses to sit back and be sent somewhere else for his safety because his brothers need him and he refuses to leave them behind
Because he doesn’t want to be safe; he wants to protect his Vod’e
Because that’s just the person he is
Fox getting a headache and wondering how Cody manages to wrangle him in
Cody can’t but he’ll never tell Fox that
Fox even having to deal with Cody who refuses to also believe Rex is dead without a body because they just found Echo and if there’s a possibility his vod’ika was captured and tortured, he wants to save him
Fox doesn’t have the heart to tell him that Echo was an exemption
And yea Rex is still alive but Fox can’t have him knowing that - can’t having anyone knowing that - so he lies through his teeth and tell Cody “you have to move on. Not everyone can be saved”
Cody is stubborn and persistent just like Anakin that Rex wouldn’t have just died
And maybe he goes about it a different way then Anakin
Anakin who goes to Palpatine to figure out where to find Rex, Anakin who (despite being told by Palpatine that Rex is dead because that means one less person in the way) searches for other ways to bring Rex back to life if he is truly dead, Anakin who can’t let go no matter what people tell him and he just needs to find Rex’s body because that will reveal the truth
If Rex is alive, then finding him will be no issue but if he’s dead, Anakin will bring him back
Cody who retraces the steps and investigates the situation and tries to find the clues to the answers
Fox who has to cover all the steps and areas because goddamn it Cody, now is not the time to be paranoid
Fox who can’t blame him because that’s what he would do with Thorn if there was no body

rescue of the crazed
A/N: Hey guys!!!!!!! Sorry I've been so absent!!!!!!!!! Not much I can do about it sadly. This is a story I've been promising for wayyyy too long @techs-goggles9902, I finally wrote the trope story :). Enjoy and send requests please!
Tumblr media
The dark seemed to have swallowed her whole, eating at her hope like it was it’s favourite delicacy. Ahsoka buried her face in her arms as she brushed dirt off of her cheek, unbothered by the texture. The walls, floor and ceiling of her cell wavered around her as though they were a blanket in the wind.
Perhaps it had been too long for them to care to rescue her, perhaps they’d moved on. Perhaps Anakin had gotten a better Padawan by now, one who didn’t go and get captured. Blood dripped silently from a gash on her arm, the trickle of the liquid more familiar than the air she breathed.
Ahsoka was passed crying over her state, she’d moved on from that. All her tears were spent on the first few days, now she couldn’t waste precious water on crying. Instead she rocked back and forth, wide-eyed and crazed, blood dripping from wounds.
As a Togruta, Ahsoka’s eyes were naturally more accustomed to the dark, but now it seemed to swallow her whole. There was no end to this darkness, just more and more, a void of nothingness. Her stomach cried for food and substance, but was ignored, the rocking motion soothing it slightly.
When gunshots echoed down the corridor and reached her ears, Ahsoka didn’t move. Her eyes remained fixated on the ray shield separating her from the corridor, digging her nails into the skin of her arms and rocking back and forth.
Back and forth.
                                          Back and forth.
                                                                                    Back and forth.
No movement came from her as voices called to her, voices so familiar her soul cried for them. But her body remained in the same motion. Rocking, back and forth.
“Commander,” came the breathless murmur that shot through her skull like a bullet, searing her mind with white hot pain. A parched cry ripped from Ahsoka’s throat as she was thrown from her rocking motion, stumbling backwards as her ears began to ring. She dug her nails in further, the pain as she drew blood nothing compared to the pain of her head. “Ahsoka?”
The Padawan yelped as a figure entered her vision, too close.
Too close.
                                          Too close.
                                                                                    Too close.
Ahsoka shook her head vigorously, her hands flying out to scratch at the being. Her nails collided with a familiar material. Armour. She shrieked as gentle fingers grasped her wrists, constricting her movements. “Ahsoka, it’s me, Rex,” the voice whispered to her. The voice belonged to the figure, the figure holding her down. “Vod’ika, it’s okay, I’m here.”
The Togruta only shook her head, screams spilling from her lips as she begged the stranger to let go of her. “No! Please! I didn’t do anything! I didn’t do anything!” she sobbed, tears streaming down her face as she wreathed in the man’s grasp. The fingers gripping her loosened slightly before tightening again, one hand reaching - still holding hers - to tilt her head up.
“Vod’ika,” the man murmured, and Ahsoka stopped for a moment, long enough to study the appearance of him. A twang of familiarity shot through her like ice soothing the pain. She gasped, her lungs aching for air as she fell forward into the arms of Rex. “That’s it, shh, I’ve got you.”
Sobs fell from her lips like knives through Rex’s heart as he held her, slowly standing up and carrying her away from the cell.
Far away.
                                          Far away.
                                                                                    Far away.
Ahsoka howled as they stepped into the sunlight, the glare burning through her eyes like lava. She gasped for air and tumbled limply out of Rex’s arms. She lay in the grass, her hand desperately reaching for the treeline before she curled up. The air stung her throat as she shrieked over and over.
“Rex, what happened to her?!” A voice shouted before she was being turned over gently. But not gently enough. A heartbreaking scream left her throat as Anakin studied her, unaware she was struggling to get away from him.
“Please, I didn’t do anything!”
Rex stepped forward, pulling his General away and quietly explaining the state his Padawan was in. Ahsoka continued to squirm and sob in the grass, burying her face in the wet grass.
A gentle hand brushed over her back and she flinched away quickly. She relaxed as the hand began to stroke the bridge between her montrals, a soothing motion buried so deep in her existence that she remembered it even as an infant.
Instantly, her struggles relaxed as she curled up into the hand, turning enough to see Obi-Wan crouched beside her. He pulled her close, murmuring words of comfort as she cried softly into his shoulder.
It didn’t take long for Ahsoka to fall asleep, exhausted from sobbing and exhausted from the hurt. She didn’t wake up when Kix tended to her wounds, or when Anakin carried her to the ship.
She didn’t wake up when she was covered with a blanket and surrounded by her family.
She didn’t wake up because she was safe.
Safe.
                                          Safe.
Safe.
