so i FINALLY got round to playing danganronpa,

The first package is delivered to Harbor Station on Christmas Day. Tommy is out on a call and misses the courier by mere minutes, but the probie was around to sign for it. There's a note next to the address label, “KEEP REFRIGERATED” written in big block letters. Curiosity gets the best of him, and he opens the box to find a carefully packaged entire roasted... it's too small to be a chicken. Then his eye catches the folded card tucked between the aluminium tray and the left side of the box: roast partridge with pear and thyme, served with sweet potatoes, mushrooms and green beans.

It’s... fucking bizarre.

Who is sending him an entire dinner in a tray on Christmas Day? There’s no return address, and the recipe card is unsigned; it lists the ingredients and instructions for reheating, and “bon appetit” written in delicate handwriting at the bottom.

Sure, every firehouse receives a lot of baked goods and festive boxes of cookies and treats from the community during the holiday season, but this is an expensive home cooked meal, lovingly prepared and delivered specifically to Tommy.

It does smell amazing, though, and he decides to stop overthinking and grabs a fork and digs in; even without reheating, it’s delicious. Tommy shakes his head and puts it in the fridge, and spends the rest of his shift looking forward to going home and enjoying the meal.

the other day my mum was having her regularly scheduled meltdown about how terrible it is to have a trans kid and she said something like "i wish you were still a girl, i wish we could still do girly mother-daughter things together" and i was so fed up i was like oh yeah? what things would those be? and she couldn't think of anything. it was so funny. buffering screen. she thought for ages and the best she could come up with was "...shopping?"
