Dethklok Agere HCs: Skwisgaar Edition

We're almost at the end, woohoo! The next one up is Skwisgaar 🎸! Him and Nathan will be my hardest challenge because I think they embody a type of regression that is very neutral but also very personalized. Anyway, this Skwisgaar 🎸! I hope to get Nathan's out soon to finish them all off.

🎸 With Pickles being the oldest out of the bunch regression-wise, Skwisgaar's age range is most similar to Murderface's. He's definitely 5 to 9, usually hanging around the 7 mark. I like to think that a lot of his regression is around the same age from when we see him as a kid in "Fatherklok." which I think is either 7 or 8. Possibly older but still very young.

🎸 Skwisgaar's regression is voluntary, so it's Age Dreaming.

🎸 I like to think that a lot of his regression is about missing childhood experiences, much like Pickles, but less extreme. Instead of being antagonized or willfully ignored like Pickles, Skwisgaar was neglected and forgotten about. Pickles' regression is about redo-ing certain parts of his childhood that were ruined or never explored. Skwisgaar is about filling in those gaps in his childhood with those activities that he never got to do in the first place.

🎸 From a DVD Special, we know a few things about Skwisgaar's childhood. 1. He was so impoverished that he would eat snow for dinner. 2. He worked a regular job at one point in his life before he went into bands, most likely either as a legal working child or a teenager. (I'm saying before because Skwisgaar has a long history of being in other bands before Dethklok. Pickles is the oldest and had a career in Snakes' N' Barrels around the '80's - 90's starting at age 16. Brendon says that Nathan and Skwisgaar are the same age, youngest only to Pickles. That doesn't give us too much room to work with when discussing the time between Skwisgaar joins his first band and him having this regular job. So it makes sense that Skwisgaar would have this job as a minor.) With that understanding, I believe that Skwisgaar had to give up a lot of normal childhood activities that someone with more money and/or free time would experience. Along with his mothers promiscuity, I also believe that Skwisgaar had a very unhealthy living situation in terms of inappropriate sexual behavior and abuse. (I will argue that having sex in your living room with the knowledge that your son would be coming home soon and then not reacting or stopping the men when he walks in, is child abuse. Also, the things in Skwisgaar's in-character interviews scream neglect.) Skwisgaar had to grow up fast in order to survive and disassociated via his guitar.

🎸 The person to first figure out Skwisgaar's regression is Toki. Toki spends a lot of time with Skwisgaar, both regressed and not, and is very observant of his character. He notices the shift in Skwisgaar when Pickles is being particularly "motherly" around Toki. Almost like he's expecting Pickles to wipe his face at dinner or put his hair in a ponytail so it's out of the way.

🎸 Toki doesn't bring up his findings at first. He sits and watches for these shifts in his character to gather the evidence that he is regressing. After a while of watching and confirming his suspicions, he decides to put his last piece of his plan into motion. While not regressed, he copies some of Pickles' caregiver movements on Skwisgaar. They're really subtle but so is Skwisgaar's shift. Afterwards, Toki does confront Skwisgaar about it alone.

🎸 This is where Skwisgaar is different from Toki, Pickles, and Murderface. Skwisgaar did not start regressing until he started being around Toki, Murderface, and Pickles as regressors. Skwisgaar is making the conscious choice of regressing and letting himself relax under the ministrations of his bandmates. He is choosing to regress as a way to cope with his trauma and stress. Before this, he did not use regressing. He mostly used sex and playing guitar before, both coping mechanisms that he still utilizes even after he starts regressing. One could argue that Skwisgaar is experimenting with regressing and has found favor in the method.

🎸 I'm going to just say that I'm using the way these posts are published as the timeline for when each member comes out. So it would go Toki, Murderface, Pickles, Skwisgaar, Nathan. With these being said, when Skwisgaar does tell the band, they are all very supportive of him, and were already expecting it. This, of course, elicits a trip to Dr. Twinkletits by Charles since Skwisgaar decided on his own that he was going to use regression to cope. Charles has everyone's best interest in heart and wants Skwisgaar to utilize this approach the best way possible.

🎸 Skwisgaar's regression is weather based. Most of his regression happens when it's winter time, especially if it snows. I wouldn't say it's a trigger for him, but more so, a relaxer. It's easier for him to regress when it's cold and snowy and reminds him of his childhood.

🎸 Skwisgaar does not have tantrums like Pickles, Toki, or Murderface. He learned from a young age that tantrums never got him anywhere, in fact, it took the few things he had away. So he is very quiet. When he's upset with something, he goes almost completely mute. He tries to focus on his guitar playing ("Dethmas" "Dethfam") instead of the thing that made him upset. Pickles and Nathan try to work Skwisgaar through those emotions and get him to talk about what made him so upset. The point of regressing is to convey emotions that otherwise wouldn't come out. They want to know what's wrong, or at least convince him that it's ok to tell them what has made him upset. He is allowed to be upset by things and show that emotion. Skwisgaar is still very unsure about this and hasn't opened too much.

🎸 Recognizing when Skwisgaar is regressed is very hard because of his vast age range and the personalities of these ages. He emulates the type of person he was at the age when he regresses because he doesn't know exactly how else to regress to those ages "normally" (I say that in the context that he grew up very fast, thus skewing his perception of childhood.) The only one that can clock it is Toki. He's spends most of his time watching Skwisgaar and copying him that he's able to notice when something changes, like his demeanor or his stance or even his playing.

🎸 When Skwisgaar regresses, so does his guitar playing. His fingers know the cords, but they become looser, freer. Like someone who hasn't disciplined themselves on correct finger placements yet or someone who is still struggling with sweeping. Skwisgaar doesn't notice the change, and if he does, he doesn't change it. The music and the way he plays helps him regress, if he wants to willfully regress.

🎸 Skwisgaar has some thoughts on what he missed out on as a child but most of it is very vague. Unlike Pickles who wanted re-dos of birthdays, Skwisgaar wants not-so memorable activities. The band has been able to find a few of these activities, like playing in the snow, having a movie night, or having a family dinner. But there are looser activities like someone brushing his hair after a shower, someone reading his original works and giving him feedback, or someone holding him when he's sick. In regards, Skwisgaar's regression is very similar to Toki in terms of wanting "normal" activities. The band works hard to fulfil these requests as often as they can.

🎸 Sometimes Skwisgaar regresses in hopes of doing one of these activities and other times he regresses while he's already doing the activity. For example, sometimes he will regress before going outside in the cold in hopes that someone will force him into warmer clothes and help him put on his jacket and hat and gloves. However, sometimes he's not regressed and wants to go outside when it's cold but is forced into warmer clothes, causing him to regress.

🎸 Do not bring up his mother when he is regressed. It's banned.

🎸 Skwisgaar is very conflicted about caregivers. When he regresses, a lot of it is about wanting to be cared for by someone, particularly a parental figure. He does want a parental-role caregiver however, he is scared of parental role figures. He is also very angry at caregivers. His own experiences with parents and would-be parents have made him apprehensive and dismissive of them. But the want to please, to be seen, to be acknowledge is all still there. He fights it all the time.

Sometimes the want for a caregiver wins and other times the apprehensive side wins. The band tries to give him the space to make that decision on his own. They consider the apprehensive side as another portion of his regression, one that calls for how Skwisgaar wanted to act toward his parental figures and would-be parental figures as a child. It's like being able to finally get back at your parents for when they hurt you. So sometimes, the band acts like caregivers to give Skwisgaar the freedom to "tell them off" like how he wanted to as a kid. His regression is complex in that way that the band as caregivers are acting as their own, individualized caregivers and "roleplaying" as past parental figures. They conceptualize different type of adults in Skwisgaar's life, ones that he wants approval from and ones he wants to completely ignore.

🎸 Skwisgaar was an only child growing up but always longed for a sibling. Regression grants him that wish. He loves to regress when the others are regressed, and loves having them act as his siblings, as either older or younger siblings. He likes being around Pickles when they're regressed because it feels like he has a cool older brother that he look up to and hang out with. He likes being around Murderface because he always has the coolest toys that he never got growing up, and (surprisingly) Murderface shares very well with his toys. Skwisgaar likes being around Toki because Toki still looks up to Skwisgaar and likes to ask him questions about his guitar, and Skwisgaar loves talking about his passion. He loves having siblings to be a child around.

🎸 Skwisgaar doesn't want discipline initially because his regression is so controlled and experimental. However, the longer he does it for and the less conscious it becomes, he does warm up to the idea of discipline. Granted, it's usually just a verbal warning but he did get popped on the back of the head once by Pickles for being a little mean to Toki when he was really small. Skwisgaar decided he probably deserved it because he was being a bit meaner than normal. They are not allowed, otherwise, to do anything else. There are no timeouts or physical punishments, just verbal warnings and scolding's.

🎸 Skwisgaar is open to utilizing regression supplies, he's just very hesitant. A part of him still feels a little silly for being a grown man acting like a child, but the others try to encourage his curiosity. Toki is always willing to talk to him about his supplies and tools, and how they make him feel or how he uses them. He tests out different clothing too to help get him in the right headspace. So far, he's alright using child-friendly cutlery meant for children not toddlers. They make him feel special because nothing in his own house was dedicated or bought specifically with a child in mind. He used all grown up stuff, not the child friendly versions. So things that are made with a child-friendly version, he likes, such as CF! Toothbrushes and toothpaste, CF! Tablets, and CF! guitars. He likes sippy cups with the lids or straws, especially bendy straws (His mom never let him get bendy straws). He likes the graphic tees with his special interest on it, which becomes his biggest signal that he wants to regress. He doesn't like bottles or things meant for toddlers, like Toki. But he will play with a few of his toys simply out of curiosity, like wooden matching puzzles or rings. He won't use a pacifier but has been found sucking his thumb when he's deep in his regression.

🎸 Skwisgaar parallel plays the most out of the band. Sometimes he just likes doing his own thing while the others are doing their own thing. The problem is that Toki always wants to do what Skwisgaar is doing, especially if he's regressed. Skwisgaar has learned to call over Pickles, Nathan, or Charles to get Toki when he wants to be alone. Toki has learned to sneak better. They can come to a truce if Toki gives Skwisgaar two feet of space and is quietly observing Skwisgaar.

🎸 There is no sex allowed in Mordhaus when Skwisgaar is regressed. This goes for all of them but it's especially true for Skwisgaar. Because Skwisgaar grew up in a house that was so sexually inappropriate, those sounds or visuals are serious triggers for him. The band made this a rule when Toki started regressing involuntarily. But when Skwisgaar started regressing, they realized that even the mention of sex would trigger him or it would take him out of his regression. The only time where the rule was broken (accidental) Skwisgaar freaked out so bad and hid in a closet with his guitar. He would have completely ran out of the house if the door to outside was closer. He doesn't want to be back inside that house as a child, he wants to be in HIS house as a child.

🎸 Skwisgaar has found comfort in cartoons from his childhood and will watch them when regressed. He loves Moomins, Tintin, and Babar! Toki will often join in and watch with him. Pickles thinks that maybe Tintin is a little too advance for Toki but Skwisgaar tells him that Toki isn't even really paying attention. He just likes to snuggle up with Skwisgaar and watch the TV with him, regressed or not. Nathan gifts him a Moomins plush as a surprise one day to help him regress. Nathan gifted Toki Snufkin as his companion piece.

🎸 Skwisgaar is experimenting with how much help he wants with his regression. For example, he doesn't know if he wants Pickles to cut up his food for him, feed it to him, wipe his hands, clean his face, ect. Or if he wants more independence where he gets his plate and eats by himself and cleans himself off but Pickles comes by to do "touch ups" or reminders. It's like direct help vs. indirect help. He likes to do things independently but enjoys being dotting one from time to time. But he doesn't like everything being taken over for him, he likes do things independently. But he likes encouragement and observation to things he cares about. He also likes "advice" where someone will tweak something he's already doing to be more effective, like helping him with finger placement on his guitar or showing him to brush at the bottom of his hair, not the middle. He likes the idea of someone checking up on him and making sure he's alright when he's playing by himself. He's not too sure about bathing help. Murderface did bathe him once before ("Fatherklok") and it wasn't a bad feeling, but he wasn't in the right mindset to really dissect his feelings about it. He's working all of these out in real time so the band is constantly succeeding and failing at it.

🎸 Nathan has had both guitarists regressed before one either side of him, cuddling up watching a movie. Toki is a quiet babbler and was talking to himself through most of it. Skwisgaar was quiet through most of it because he was busy sucking his thumb. Nathan just wanted to eat his chips but if he tried to move his hands off either of their backs, it would cause a chorus of negative noises. They ended up falling asleep like that. Pickles has a photo on this on his phone and refuses to delete it.

🎸 Skwisgaar loves playing Rock Band guitar. He makes Toki sing and Murderface play drums. Skwisgaar will not let either of them play bass guitar. He is the only guitarist.

🎸 Skwisgaar has accidently regressed after a concert before. He as busy taking off his corpse paint when Pickles came over and helped him remove some of it that got in his hair line. It sent him reeling with how good it felt to be cared for like that and spent the rest of the night glued to Pickles.

🎸 Speaking of Pickles, because Pickles is the "mother" of the band, Skwisgaar has an affinity toward him. He's got a really shitty relationship with his mom and he's aware of it. He does not like his mom, not one bit. He wants another person to be his mom or be motherly to him. So, it's only logical that Pickles would take that role. Skwisgaar does not use different names for people when he's small, but he has, from time to time, called Pickles "Mom" and, on rarer occasions, Nathan "Dad".

🎸 When it snows, Skwisgaar loves to play outside. He gets everyone out there to build snowmen and have snow ball fights and make snow angels. Pickles, being from the midwest, and Toki, being from Norway, handle the snow very well and can play the longest. Nathan and Murderface, both southern American boys, don't. They can handle it for a little while but need to go back inside when things get too cold for them. Skwisgaar also has a nasty habit of sneaking snow down people's shirts. But it's ok, Pickles is known for grabbing his sides with his cold hands as punishment. By the end of it, Skwisgaar is very regressed, happily, and will be for the rest of the day. It usually ends with a warm shower, soup, and a good movie.

🎸 Skwisgaar is insanely jealous that Toki gets read to at night because he wants to be read to. Murderface has more or less the same feeling, not because he wants anyone to put him to bed and read to him, but because he wasn't offered it. Skwisgaar used to see other kids on TV get read to by their parents and wanted that for himself. His mom hardly ever knew where he was at "bed time" let alone put him there. But Pickles is observant and so now they have group bed time story time for everyone. Murderface comes and goes when he wants, but Skwisgaar likes it because it matches up to the idealized version of childhood from his mind. Toki is ok with it but likes it better when it's just him and Nathan.

🎸 Skwisgaar and Toki have gotten into a yelling fight over Pickles before being their "Mom". It's just a regressed version of "Stops Copies Me" but about who had Pickles as his mom first. Skwisgaar said it was him first because he joined the band first, so Pickles was his mom first, but Toki says that Pickles is his mom first because Toki is the first person Pickles acted "motherly" too and the person Pickles is a legit caregiver too. Pickles had to separate them and give the "I love you both equally and are both of your moms" talk. Toki and Skwisgaar don't buy it.

🎸 Skwisgaar finds school supplies and busy work to be soothing. He likes the idea of sitting down and doing homework as a part of his regression. He remembers the calmness of doing homework at his kitchen table or sitting in class, and he misses it. Charles has a desk in his office just for Skwisgaar to do elementary level assignments. Sometimes it's math problems, sometimes it's history "fill-in" work sheets, sometimes it's science. He likes the repetitiveness of it. Charles even found some basic-level music class worksheets for him to do about tempo and the scales. Charles always grades them as well and gives them back to Skwisgaar. He's a steady A/B student.

🎸 The further Skwisgaar gets with his regression, the more likely he will let himself slip without noticing it. Which is usually fine, until he realizes that he's slipping when others slip, especially Toki. And since Toki is a involuntary regressor, that means that sometimes he finds himself slipping in public. In these cases, Skwisgaar has been recorded by the public doing non-typical adult-minded Skwisgaar things. Though, a lot of it revolves around being a "big brother" to Toki, or sometimes Murderface.

🎸 Skwisgaar and Murderface will sneak off to watch scary movies and eat junk food when they're regressed and then cry to Pickles when they get scared or have tummy aches. Nathan finds this hilarious that they both do that both regressed and not. Pickles finds it incredibly annoying but also endearing that they find him a safe space.

🎸 Skwisgaar gets scared easily when regressed. He's flung multiple things out of his hands and jumped more time then he can count. This isn't a trauma thing, he just gets easily spooked.

🎸 Murderface and him will read comic books together in silence or while listening to music. Skwisgaar has a preference for The Crow, Sandman, Thor, Tintin, and Asterix. He also likes the Smurfs but feels silly reading them so he'll only read them in private.

🎸 A memorable time while regressed was when he got really sick with the flu. He thought he would just lay in bed for a few days, take some medicine, eat, and sleep until he got better. However, Pickles wasn't having it. Skwisgaar was looked over and pampered by his band mates so much that he doesn't ever remembered consciously regressing, he just let it happen. They all took turns looked out for him. Pickles would rub his head while laying down to help him sleep and measure out his medicine for him. Toki made sure to bring bendy straws for his drinks and help him eat his soup. Nathan helped him get clean sheets on his bed so they wouldn't smell "sick" and religiously checked his temperature. Murderface would help clean him up and wash his face and hair. He was so regressed during this time that he hardly spoke and only requested his bandmates to take care of him, not the klokateers. Pickles held his hand when he went back to the doctor to do a check up.

🎸 He practices doing hair on Toki and Nathan. Sometimes it's good. Most of the time, it's not. But he does like to brush hair so it's at least brushed really well when he plays.

🎸 Because he is experimenting with regressing, he's also experimenting with ages. He has tried regressing as low at Toki, so there have been days where he tried being bottle fed or used a pacifier or act like a toddler. But those never felt right to him. The opposite is also true. He's tried being like Pickles, a bit more "grown up" but that doesn't work either. He doesn't want to be in that age range because it reminds him too much of having to grow up fast.

🎸 He needs help restringing his guitar when he's regressed. He always manages to snap his fingers.

🎸 He doesn't like having his hair down when he's small, he needs it up. So he usually puts it in a pony tail or Nathan puts it up in a claw clip or a bun. Claw clip isn't the favorite method though because Skwisgaar has fallen backwards and hurt himself on the clip.

🎸 Skwisgaar and Pickles have sleep overs in Skwisgaar's room. Both of them are usually regressed with Skwisgaar looking at Pickles like he's the coolest dude in the world. They also practice guitars a lot when they're regressed, so it feels like he's able to connect with someone.

🎸 Skwisgaar always wants fish or soup when he's small. Something about it just reminds him of home. Jean Pierre has become an expert on Swedish dishes, and even Toki has said that some of his dishes are better than the Norwegian version.

🎸 The guitarcicles in the freezer are for Skwisgaar only and he will throw a fit if one of them are gone. (They are never gone, no one likes them but him.)

🎸 He gets shy if you compliment his guitar playing. He doesn't know why persay but it makes him get butterflys.

🎸 He has used his height for evil and will hold things above Toki, Murderface, Pickles reach when he doesn't want them to have it. Nathan usually comes by and takes it from him.

🎸 Toki and Skwisgaar will take outside naps together when they are small. If it's winter time, they will snuggle in one sleeping bag to conserve heat.

🎸 Car rides put Skwisgaar to sleep. The movement reminds him of moving all the time with his mom and the calmness before the shit storm.

I watched Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar and Toki is a canonical age regressor who carrys a “Deadybear” around with him and the whole band accepts it and supports it and it’s not even a humorous focal point or anything. Pickles just says “Sorry, you know, Toki's a little sensitive these days. We think he's regressing from, you know, the whole thing.” When Toki has on outburst from being told not to something and other than him always having his comfort bear that’s the only way it’s mentioned, he is still the Toki we love.

It’s so nice to see regression presented in a legitimate way, Toki and the whole band went through hell, we see Nathan struggling with his own ptsd also. The fact that the whole band -including murderface who usually hits below the belt with his insults- just goes with it.

•Despite his rough exterior, Skwisgaar has a soft spot for Toki's regressed state. He becomes surprisingly nurturing, speaking to Toki in a softer, slower voice and always making sure he's comfortable and happy

•Story Time: Toki loves when Skwisgaar reads to him. Even though Skwisgaar might struggle a bit with the language, he does his best, and Toki is captivated by the sound of his voice. Skwisgaar often reads fairy tales or Scandinavian folklore, which fascinates Toki

•Lullabies : Skwisgaar plays lullabies on his guitar to help Toki fall asleep. The gentle melodies calm Toki down instantly, and it becomes their nightly routine. Sometimes, Skwisgaar even sings, his usually sharp voice becoming soft and soothing

•Skwisgaar creates soft, metal-inspired lullabies just for Toki. They're slower, gentler versions of the band's songs, which Toki finds incredibly comforting. He sometimes hums along in his small voice, feeling safe with the familiar sounds

•Toki loves to cuddle up with Skwisgaar, especially when he's feeling extra small. Skwisgaar might grumble about it at first, but he quickly wraps an arm around Toki, providing him with a sense of security

•Playtime : Skwisgaar tries to engage Toki in simple activities like drawing or playing with stuffed animals. He might not be the most creative, but he enjoys seeing Toki happy and laughing. Toki loves when Skwisgaar builds little towers with blocks, only to knock them down with a giggle

•Skwisgaar becomes fiercely protective of Toki when he's regressed. He won’t let anyone or anything upset him and ensures that their environment is calm and peaceful. If anyone teases Toki, Skwisgaar steps in immediately !

•Skwisgaar patiently helps Toki eat when he's regressed, cutting up his food into small pieces or even spoon-feeding him if needed. He often prepares traditional Scandinavian comfort foods that are easy for Toki to eat

•Skwisgaar sometimes takes Toki out for walks in nature, knowing that being outdoors helps Toki relax. They’ll explore quiet, forested areas where Toki can pick flowers or chase after butterflies, all under Skwisgaar’s watchful eye

•Skwisgaar might carry Toki on his shoulders when they're out and about, making Toki feel safe and happy. He’s surprisingly patient when Toki is in his little space, always willing to give him extra attention and care

•There’s an unspoken understanding between them. Skwisgaar knows when Toki needs to regress without Toki saying a word. He’s attuned to Toki’s moods and is always ready to switch into caregiver mode whenever Toki needs him

•While the other band members pretend not to care, they secretly do little things to help Toki when he's regressed. Nathan might order extra sweets for Toki to enjoy, while Pickles might discreetly clean up messes Toki makes, all without making a big deal of it. Murderface occasionally leaves his favorite plush toy near Toki’s things

•When on tour, Skwisgaar helps Toki build pillow forts in the back of the tour bus. It becomes a little sanctuary for Toki, filled with soft blankets, stuffed animals, and snacks. Skwisgaar guards the fort from any disruptions, keeping it a safe space for Toki

•Toki loves watching cartoons and kids’ shows, but to keep things "brutal," Skwisgaar finds the most metal-themed animated shows or even edits old horror movies to make them more toddler-friendly. They have movie nights where they watch these together, with Toki sitting in Skwisgaar’s lap

•Toki has a set of small, toy-sized instruments that he plays with when he’s regressed. Skwisgaar often jams with him, playing along on his guitar. It’s their way of bonding musically, even if the music is more playful and innocent than usual

•During concerts, if Toki starts to regress or feel overwhelmed, Skwisgaar has a special signal to the crew to create a calm space backstage. There’s always a quiet room with soft lighting and noise-canceling headphones where Skwisgaar can take Toki if he needs a break

•When Toki needs a nap, Dada Skwisgaar takes him to the most secluded, quiet area of their enormous mansion. He ensures it’s as cozy as possible

•Skwisgaar has some custom-made Metalocalypse onesies and other baby gear created for Toki, complete with the band’s logo in pastel colors or softer designs. It’s a secret stash of Toki’s that no one else is allowed to touch, except Skwisgaar

•Despite his aloof attitude, Skwisgaar secretly does research on how to be a better caregiver for Toki. hmmm idk much about age regression tbh but i have a couple thoughts. for example:

not shippy but skwisgaar is a primary CG for toki. we know canonically that skwisgaar noticed a lot about his band mates that others don’t pick up on, and most notably he was the only one who knew about toki’s fear of quarters. i imagine he’s not necessarily good at being a CG, but he knows enough about what calms toki down and is patient enough to at least be near him as a comforting presence when he needs it. it surprises the rest of dethklok too, since he’s so impatient with toki normally, but think about skwisgaar at the funeral, how he just quietly sat next to toki, didn’t say anything mean to him or yell at him or anything—most he did was tell him not to touch him, but skwisgaar is just touch averse it had nothing to do with toki. AND HE ALSO CANONICALLY HAS DEADDY BEARS IN HIS ROOM SO HE IS PREPARED FOR WHEN TOKI NEEDS THEM. LOOK AT THIS SHOT FROM THIS DVD EXTRA AND GO INSANE WITH ME.

he loves making bracelets (COUGH) and one of the first things he’ll do when regressing is make a new one. he’s crafty already in canon, and he’s still crafty when regressed, he’ll just gravitate to brighter colors and a bit more simple stuff. so, typically toki might make bracelets out of guitar strings and use a soldering gun and stuff, but when regressed he just uses one of those plastic bead kits.

So uh, I have another agere Skwisgaar headcanon, it might be a weird one, but I believe he just uses a vape pen instead of a pacifier when he's regressed. He sees it as essentially the same thing as using a pacifier, but "cooler" and less obvious, so he just resorts to vaping instead. Sometimes he asks Toki to vape with him when he feels lonely, they both enjoy what vape tastes and smells like

You know, I didn't know how to feel about this originally however, the longer I sat with it, the more I'm understanding it. Especially when I remember those Juul pods that had like cotton candy and mango flavors. Vaping is just another form of an oral fixation, so he would get the same sensation that a pacifier would give (maybe a little different but the basics are still there.) But the idea of Skwisgaar feeling lonely when he's feeling a little regressed and wants to share his past time with Toki is very cute <3.

I remember when vaping was done in those huge palm shaped oil vapes that you had to refill. The oil would literally get everywhere but this was before regulations (I think?) so there were a bunch of other flavors you could get. But them sitting outside like at the back of the venue after a concert or on their porch/patio area after dinner and handing each other the vape is sweet. I think Toki would have a stash of candy flavors and banana and sweet flavors. Skwisgaar would have coffee or like, the most neutral flavoring you could get. Maybe menthol. Idk why, but I like to think that they are close to each other, maybe even cuddling. Like, a regressing Skwisgaar using a vape with a caregiver Toki to make sure he doesn't burn himself or over do it. They're talking quietly about the day or the show, they're shrouded in a cloud of smoke, and Skwisgaar feels safe. It's just calm. The others come out with their own smoke or drink and talk with them. I have the imagery or Skwisgaar laying his head in Toki's lap with Toki keeping a hand on his chest and one in his hair. Alright, I can fw with this, absolutely.

Dethklok Agere HCs: Pickles Edition

I wanted to do Pickles 🍹 next because I think he encompasses a range of age regression that isn't your typical shining poster-boy version. I have many thoughts on him that I needed to share before the others. Nathan and Skwisgaar are coming up next, but for now, this is for Pickles 🍹!

(Pickles, the longer I look at you, the more I realize just how fine you actually are. Like, damn. Anyway...)

🍹 Pickles to me is an older regressor. He's around the pre-teen ages, so around 9 - 12. Just to note, In "Snakes N' Barrels", the old musician that gives Pickles his first guitar said that he was "no more than 16" when he came in. So, if we follow his back story, this is around the age where Pickles was becoming accustomed to drinking heavily. So this is a very tender age for Pickles.

🍹 Like I said with Murderface, Pickles is an Age Dreamer, meaning his regression is voluntary. Pickles can learn to utilize his regression in ways that can help his mental health, but he won't be able to do that until he realizes he regresses.

🍹 Like Murderface, Pickles did not understand at first that he was showing signs of regressing until Toki.

🍹 Because Pickles is one of Toki's main CG, he did not accept or humor the idea that he to could be a regressor. He's been the caregiver for such a long time now that if someone brough it up to him, he would tell them to knock it off. Toki is his main priority at the moment and he needs to be there for him.

🍹 Like Murderface, his regression is not the cute, wholesome stuff that we usually stereotype with regression. His is linked heavily to his past drug and alcohol abuse, his toxic home life, and a very chaotic teenage and young adult life. Thus, creating a very violent regression output.

🍹 It was Dr. Twinkletits that first saw signs of regression in Pickles. It was during one of their own Rock Talks, where 2 and 2 came together. Pickles completely discarded him, but the fear of him being a regressor overcame him in the night, so he drank and smoked till he couldn't lift his head up anymore. The next morning, the thoughts were still present, so he decided to do some of his own research to make them stop.

🍹 How Pickles regression manifests is through violence and abusing drugs and alcohol. I'm not saying that everything adult Pickles does is regression in reference to this, but when it comes to certain situations and how/why he does it, then it can show cast regression. For example, Pickles started drinking at a very very young age to cope. Regression is coping. When Pickles drinks or gets violent after a seriously uncomfortable situation ("Fatherklok") he's doing it because that's how younger him would cope. Being violent came from the chaos that surrounded him, because no one ever listened or paid attention to him. He's violent because that's what got him answers as a kid, so when he beat up Murderface in Fatherklok, that was a form of regression. Same thing in Dethfam when he strangles Seth during his wedding after being bullied the whole day by him and his friends. Both of those episodes also brought up parts of his past, such as Seth being his regular asshole self big brother and Murderface reminding him of his own father and being neglected. Pickles only acted in violence and abuse because of the context in which he was in. In short, it was a trigger. Violence and alcohol abuse are apart of his regression.

🍹 Pickles can be pretty level-headed and the voice of reason when he wants to be. He can be a professional. He can follow his intuition. I think after his own research, he goes back to Dr. Twinkletits and demands to know what he can do to get rid of it. I think because he believes he has to be Toki's Caregiver, he can not allow himself to regress. It's not about being sober, it's about making sure he doesn't accidently slip because of his own problems when (he believes) Toki's problems are way worse. (Trauma Olympics) Dr. Twinkletits helps him but does consult that maybe if he confronted it and told the band, it would be alright. Pickles is very much against that idea.

🍹 He's the hardest of the group to admit it. It takes a good year before Pickles realizes that it would benefit him and the band if he did just come out and say it, because despite trying to "will it away" he keeps slipping back into it. He calls a band meeting and tells them, then threatens them that this doesn't mean they (Toki, Murderface, Skwisgaar) can stop listening to him.

🍹 He has a personal conversation with Nathan about it. He's initially scared by it. Doing it and not knowing about it vs. doing it and knowing about it are two very different feelings. Nathan gets it (Doesn't realize that he also regresses at this point) because he knows that caring for Toki and the band are what's the most important to him right now. Toki and the band are the most important things to Nathan too. But Nathan tells him that no matter what, he's here for him. They've stuck it out through all of this shit, this new piece of information won't frighten him away.

🍹 Toki and him also have a conversation about it. Toki is pleased that Pickles is also a regressor but also very worried. To him, he's scared that Pickles won't want to take care of him anymore. It's frightening to him, he just got his support system back. But he's supportive. Pickles reassurances him that he's not going anywhere, that they are a family. Toki jokes about when he has to take care of Pickles, he'll let Pickles have all the candy he wants, which is something Pickles won't let Toki do. Pickles honks his nose in response.

🍹 Stay with me with what I'm about to say. I believe in order for Pickles to get the full benefits of his regression, he needs discipline. And I don't mean a scolding. I think Pickles had a very real and serious conversation with the guys and Charles that a part of his regression is to do things that are "bad", be punished for them, but still be loved afterwards. He wants the feeling of being cared for enough that someone put rules in place for him to keep him safe and will enact punishment when those rules are broken. As seen in "Fatherklok", Pickles does bad things for attention (Punishment) but in his real life, even running away did not get him the attention he hoped for from his father. He wants to relive those moments, that feeling, that someone cares enough about him that they are willing to be the "bad guy" to keep him safe. While they do have a conversation about more positive ways of seeking attention and reassurance that they are paying attention to him, he's firm in what he wants.

🍹 That being said, I think the different ways Pickles can be disciplined are typical to a regular mid-western suburban up bringing. That means, he wants to be scolded, he wants to be spanked, he wants to be in time out, he wants to be grounded from his hobbies. What he does not want is to be smacked across the face or given the cold shoulder. Both of those are ways he was disciplined that are too close to the real deal. Now, when it comes down to who is giving out these punishments, it depends on the punishment. I think Nathan is the only one that Pickles will listen to in the band (He won't listen to Murderface, Skwisgaar he listens to a little bit, and Toki usually joins in whatever he's doing because it looks like fun.) so most punishments come from him, except spankings. This is where the band is divided the most. None of them want to actually harm Pickles or are uncomfortable doing it, so the only one who will do it is Charles. Charles takes this responsibility very very seriously.

🍹 All of this are just the details to a much deeper want, which is structure. Pickles needs structure in his regression big time. From a young age, his life has been so chaotic and unpredictable with drugs, women, and rock n' roll. He wants to be able to have a space where he knows what's expected of him, what's expected of others, that there is a time and place for activities, that there are rules. He wants to know there there is a hierarchy of people to talk to, that people know what they are suppose to do, with themselves and him. But most of all, he wants to be apart of the structure where he isn't neglected, abused, or blamed.

🍹 Pickles regression, once identified, also forms into a lot of tantrums (Do you see the pattern yet?) Except Pickles tantrums are physically violent due to fear of losing attention. Murderface throws tantrums because he's worried and anxious and misconstrues people's actions and words. Toki throws tantrums because he gets triggered from past events that send him into fight/flight mode. They all throw tantrums for very different reasons.

🍹 Pickles tantrums, while violent, don't last long. They are short bursts of anger, usually destroying something around him, then dissolves into instant regret and sadness. It's a rollercoaster of emotions for sure, the band needs to be there for him when the eventual fall happens.

🍹 Pickles has a weird feeling toward motherly figures when he's regressed. He has a lot of want for his mother, despite his mother not really wanting him. That same kind of desperation bleeds into his regression, but at the same time, he hates that feeling. He wants his mom to notice him, love him, comfort him, see his accomplishments. He feels weird when he gets that attention from other women when regressed, like a female klokateer or even Abigail (if she's around.) To him, it almost feels like "cheating". Like it's soiled praise meant for someone else. They make him feel "weird", something he still isn't able to pinpoint with Dr. Twinkletits. The band and Charles have all decided that it would be best to avoid female interactions when Pickles is feeling regressed to avoid these feelings until they can be identified.

🍹 Any and all mentions of Seth are NOT ALLOWED! It sends him into a horrible rage than ends in a crying fit. It's completely banned.

🍹 When he regresses, knowingly, his accent gets worse. The only one who can understand him is Nathan.

🍹 A lot of common midwestern foods cause him to regress and he will request those types of food when he is regressed because it does provide a bit of nostalgia for him. In one of the special feature DVD extras, Pickles stated that his mom used to make bowls of mayo for dinner, so I see him asking for bowls of mayo when he's small.

🍹 I see him wanting to do things that he didn't necessarily get to do around this age due to either his internal rage, his drinking and drug use, or his unstable home life. Like stereotypical pre-teen things like riding bikes or having sleep overs or having pool/summer parties. He wants to experience these areas without fear and anger (and Seth).

🍹 Further note, he also wants to re-do a lot of things in his past. Specifically, Birthdays. He wants to re-do his 10th birthday because Seth managed to not only take over the entire party onto himself, he was also blamed for another incident in the house, which caused him to lose all of his presents and privileges. The band takes this very seriously and throw Pickles the best 10th birthday imaginable! Pool party with a blow-up castle, hot dogs and hamburgers, a sheet cake with buttercream frosting, and lots and lots of presents! Pickles is so happy that he starts crying half way through "Happy Birthday". Nathan gets him an all access pass to a vintage arcade. Murderface gets him an original Atari 2600. Toki gets him an Easy Bake Oven. Skwisgaar gets him Boggle. Charles gets him Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots.

🍹 Like Murderface, he wouldn't use any typical regression supplies but does like to get into comfier clothes.

🍹 However, because Pickles' regression is tied so closely to drugs and alcohol, he does still do those things when he's regressed. The difference is how he does it. He sneaks. He hides the beer cans under his shirt and smokes his joints in the bathroom with the window up and the fan on. It's a split debate amongst the band as they don't necessarily know if it's healthy for him to do these things when he's regressed. Dr. Twinkletits reminds them at Pickles is fully aware of what he is doing and his hiding and sneaking his substances is part of the regression, than it's best to leave it be. If Pickles were to decide one day that he doesn't want to be allowed to do those things when he's regressed, and wants the band to intervene, then that is when they should do something. If Pickles were in fact age regressing involuntarily, then it would be a completely different discussion, but it's not. Pickles voluntarily lets himself regress, therefore, he's in charge of how he wants it. Though, Nathan has talked to Pickles about limiting what he sneaks because he is worried. They've come to an agreement that Pickles will only use what he was already using at that time in his life, which were your basic beers and joints. It's a compromise they're both happy with. Pickles can still sneak and his regression feels more authentic and Nathan knows that he isn't going to walk in on Pickles regressed doing heroin.

🍹 Like Murderface, he hates SPF. Nathan holds him until he's coated three times before he lets him go outside and play.

🍹 Pickles is a little self-conscious of his freckles and hair color when he's smaller because he was always made fun of for it growing up. The jokes "Red-headed step child" really did a number on him in the 70's growing up. Also a lot of Ginger jokes made him self-conscious as well. The band works on giving him compliments and reassurances about those features in order to make him feel better. Toki is the best at it, since he has always been the most genuine compliment giver. Though Skwisgaar is able to give him very specific compliments that don't make him feel worse but they don't make him feel good either. Murderface tries but sometimes they come off a little flat, but the intentions are always good. Nathan gives very basic compliments, but they're always meant.

🍹 Pickles will deny his regression to anyone other than his bandmates and Charles. He will not let word slip about it outside of the group and will get viciously violent if someone makes a claim. It's not that he feels ashamed, but more about having to protect his other titles. He also does not trust people to understand him and his regression and does not want people putting their nose in his business. He saw what it did to Toki (hated it) and will not let it happen to him.

🍹 For my fellow Trans!Pickles truthers, this ones for you! 9 - 12 is the age range where Pickles first noticed that he did not like what was happening to him puberty-wise. Now, Modern-Pickles is already decades away from that stage and is happily settled in his identity. But when he is this age, those feelings sometimes come back. He didn't get the gender-affirming support from his family, so he used other methods to achieve it. But when he is regressed, the band puts things in motion to actively support his identity. That could come in all different ways like Nathan helping him pick out a binder, even though he doesn't need one. He never got the experience of having someone help him look, or to even look in the first place. They up the usage of masculine words like "Boy" "Dude" "Man" "Buddy" "Pal" "Guy" things that would help solidify that position in the group. Skwisgaar takes him out clothes shopping to help build a new wardrobe for his "special guy" (He can't say this to Pickles with Toki around because it will trigger his regression and then he will get jealous of Skwisgaar's attention. It's inevitable.) Murderface and Toki include him as "one of the dudes" in their dumb shit adventures, like sneaking out to go drink somewhere on the property or go smash something with bats. Pickles is always very grateful for this.

🍹 He reads so many comic books when he's regressed. Like a crazy amount of comic books. Especially Conan the Barbarian, Marvel and DC, Archie, Grimm's Ghost Stories, and MAD. He also loves Sunday comic strips. He will read them with the band on Sundays every morning during breakfast. It's their little ritual whether or not Pickles is regressed.

🍹 Warning, this one is a little explicit (??) Not sure how to label it but it's not anything bad. So this next one is a 50/50 HC with me, depending on how real I want this to get. Pickles did not have a normal childhood AT ALL, so I think his regression is very very very different from everyone else in comparison to what they do. Keep that in mind.

I know, as a former child, that 9 - 12 was when I was starting to discover my body, so it's probably the same age that Pickles would discover his. I don't think it's imperative to his regression that Pickle's discovers his body, but I think it will happen given enough time. Like how he sneaks with drugs and alcohol, he might also sneak off to explore himself.

If we want to get real, his own childhood is probably riddled with transactional sex for booze and drugs, especially since he has been drinking since he was 6. Remember, he started Snakes n' Barrels at 16, still a minor and only 10 years after he started. He is most likely a victim in some shape or form, even if he doesn't see himself as one (I HC they he has a hard time referring to himself as a victim in relation to anything that happened to him due to drugs and alcohol.) That could very well translate into his regression, where this might be the first time where he feels safe enough to explore himself without the lingering fear and shame. It could also be tied into taking back control that he once lost at that age. Where his body was a tool to further his substance abuse, and not something that he could just have to himself.

All of this is not talked about with the band directly from Pickles, but Pickles does talk about it with Dr. Twinkletits. Dr. Twinkletits in turn, tells the band as delicately as possible that this could happen, and if it does and you accidently run across it, leave him be. Do not interrupt or stop him. It's an unspoken acceptance that this is just something Pickles needs to work through. I know this is a more controversial take with age regression, so if you don't personally vibe with this, that's perfectly fine.

🍹 Pickles does not want a caregiver like Toki, who wants parental care givers, but he doesn't want to regress alone without them like Murderface. Pickles wants a Big Brother caregiver. Seth is a piece of shit but that doesn't stop Pickles from wishing he had a cool, protective big brother unlike Seth. So the band are all of his Big Brothers who look out for him but let him get away with shit. They tussle and fuss but also respect each other and love one another. He especially wants the feeling of being protected by an older sibling. When Nathan or Charles might be gearing up to discipline Pickles, one of the others will step in and try to talk Pickles out of it. Or they'll defend him and keep him close. It's a fine line of wanting protection from a older sibling and wanting discipline from an authoritarian figure. He does get a warm feeling when they help him with something or pass down "big brother advice" or think he's cool. It makes him feel smaller and softer.

🍹 He eats Play Dough. I think it would be the salt inside of it. He also eats chalk and newspaper. Charles has him checked out in case he is low on vitamins and is trying replenish them by eating non-food items. He's fine, he just likes the taste.

🍹 He does the middle finger when you turn around when he gets scolded. The others find it so funny because sometimes he isn't fast enough to put it away and gets caught.

🍹 Pickles rediscovers a lot of old books he used to read as a child but never finished. He spends a good amount of time re-reading them and actually finishing them. He finished The Outsiders, Carrie (Personal Favorite!), Who Censored Roger Rabbit (Personal Favorite!), Jaws (I want to read this one.), and Are You There God? It's Me, Margert, which I see being his "guilty pleasure" book that he would read over and over again. The others will offer him snacks during his reading time or give him a blanket if it's cold.

🍹 Pickles is a whiner. If doesn't want to do something, he moans and groans the whole way through. He doesn't want to pick up his clothes or put his dishes in the sink. He doesn't want to sit up in his chair right.

🍹 He has one stuffed animal that he keeps on his bed that Toki got him. It's a stuffed dog named Max. When he's not feeling small, he keeps him on his dresser to safe keeping.

🍹 He demands to have sleepovers in Nathan's room all the time, whether or not the others want to join. They get snacks and candy and watch R-rated horror movies and sneak a beer or two. It makes him feel giddy and playful and happy. He's having the fun he wished he could of had as a child with a friend, while doing things he's not suppose to with someone who won't tattle on him. He's also a cuddlier at these parties. A part of him just wants to be held while he sleeps.

🍹 Pickles loves to drum when he's small too. He played the drums as a kid, so he probably used it a lot to get out his anger and frustrations. It's not good playing, it's not meant to be. It's just a lot of him getting out his emotions and going through the motions. Like that scene from Hey Arthur where Francine is playing the drums and singing at the same time and is god awful at it. That's Pickles playing the drums when he's younger.

🍹 They have caught him from time to time trying on his old Snakes n' Barrels clothes. Kind of like dress up. He's always shy when it happens but the others don't joke him too hard about it.

🍹 He gets along with Murderface well when they are both regressed. They're just similar in age enough to be able to play peacefully, or as peacefully as two young children can play. Toki, not so much. He's usually too small to really play with them and it triggers a part of Pickles that needs to care for Toki, forcing him out of his regression. Because of that, Toki can't be around Pickles when they're both regressed.

🍹 Skwisgaar and Murderface take him to destruction rooms to get out his anger. It works very well but it's a pain trying to get him out of the room. He wants to stay there forever.

🍹 Pickles feels very "in charge" of his regression. He doesn't like the spontaneous nature of it and really only wants to regress in a controlled environment, like Mordhaus, and with select people, Dethklok and Charles.

🍹 Legos. He will sit and build Legos until his fingers bleed. He had a bin at home when he was much younger but they got taken away from him because Seth kept complaining that he was hurting his foot by stepping on them. Toki and Murderface take him to the Lego store as often as they can to get new sets. They all sit and build together, usually watching something or listening to music.

🍹 Pickles has a lot of musical knowledge. He loves talking about different bands and musicians and comparing songs. Nathan and Skwisgaar are the best with these conversations, as they can keep up with him. They talk shop and even formulate some new drum beats during this time. Nathan refers to it as priceless.

🍹 He does have a curfew but he also breaks curfew a lot. He's suppose to go to bed by 9, but he'll sneak a little to stay up till 10. This usually ends with Charles and Nathan putting him back to bed, tucked under the covers tightly. Pickles finds it funny. As a child, he would have been smacked or yelled at for be up so late, but this was nicer.

🍹 Very rarely will Pickles regression dip lower than 9. But it does happen. It usually happens after talking to his mother, father, or brother. He gets as low as 6, maybe 5, but it's only for a short while. This is when he needs the most support.

🍹 Toki is very protective of Pickles when Pickles is regressed. He knows how hard Pickle works to keep him happy and safe, and he wants to "repay" that somehow by making his regression just as safe. It's a little annoying but overall very sweet.

🍹 Skwisgaar will give Pickles impromptu guitar lessons when they are alone. They both get a bit of nostalgia when they do one of these lessons. It reminds Pickles of happier moments in his life when his actual guitar teacher was helping him learn. He likes the act of learning from someone who cares about him. The gentle encouragements, the finger placements, the thoughtfulness. It makes him feel good.

Dethklok Agere HCs: Nathan Edition

Here we are! Finishing strong with the frontman himself, Nathan ☠️! I definitely had to sit with myself longer about my thoughts and feelings toward him. I think he was the biggest challenge yet, but I believe I did him justice. Anyway, here's Nathan ☠️!

☠️ To me, Nathan is an example of someone who fully recognizes regression, is knowledgeable (to an extant) on regression, and has really no prior desire or experience with regression, but wants to give it a go. Nathan's regression is most similar to Skwisgaar, where he's "testing it out" so to speak. With his PTSD he was diagnosed in AOTD and possible CPTSD from his classroom incident, Nathan wants to try see how it helps him cope.

☠️ I think Nathan regresses to around the same ages as Skwisgaar, 5 to 8. I think he tries to embody the age we see him as in "Dethgov" during the classroom incident. Try being the operative word because he was not a "normal" 5 to 8 year old, so his understanding of that age is skewed. However, how he portrays his age isn't as potent as say Toki. Him, Skwisgaar, and Murderface stay within a typical young boy playing field. Whereas Toki is very toddler-ish, sometimes borderline baby if it gets really bad. Pickles is the only preteen, sometimes leaning into young boy.

☠️ I won't lie, I originally did not see Nathan as a regressor at all. However, knowing that regression can be used as a tool, I like to think that Nathan post-AOTD is more open to all possible coping mechanisms for his PTSD. He doesn't want to go back to the person he was before DSR or after DSR. He wants to be the person after AOTD. An interview revealed that the band regularly uses Dr. Twinkletits and he has no shame going to see him. So after AOTD, I think he would broaden his horizons to consider regression as a possible tool to cope.

☠️ Following the post order, Nathan would be the last one to regress in the band. I think once he told the band, it would be a mix response of, "We were waiting for you to finish it out." and "Oh, you actually want to try this out." It's not bad responses, just a little shocked. I think the only one who isn't shocked would be Pickles, since he spends the most time with Nathan and knows more about him than anyone else.

☠️ I think Nathan would have the hardest time trying to drop. He's too focused on the fact that he is a grown man trying to do "kid things."

☠️ The band helps him the best way they can. They encourage him to "let go" and let himself be in the moment. Toki brings him coloring books and will color with him to try and get him to drop. Murderface brings out his Hot Wheels and tracks and races with him in the living room. Skwisgaar offers to play with him outside or take walks around Mordhaus. Pickles tries to appear and act more "motherly" in the hope that by being a parental figure in the moment, it will make Nathan feel comfortable dropping.

☠️ There is a shyness to Nathan's regression. In both trying and wanting to regress and his actual regression. Meaning he's shy trying to regress and his regresses mind is that of a shy little boy.

☠️ Nathan feels almost shameful for wanting to regress, since he knows the others regress, but especially WHY they regress. Nathan, in respect to everyone else in the band, had the best and most normal upbringing. It's down right healthy in some aspects. Nathan is well aware of the shit his bandmates have gone through; child abuse, sexual child abuse, neglect, homelessness, poverty, addiction, toxic home lives, religious abuse. He feels like he has no real excuse to regress or that the reasons he does have aren't as severe. (Trauma Olympics) He feels like by regressing, he's taking away time his bandmates could have regressed, or forcing himself into the spotlight. The band and Dr. Twinkletits have all encouraged Nathan to regress and have made it clear, over and over again, that yes, you have every reason and right to regress. Your trauma is important. Even if you didn't have trauma, you can still regress. Nathan is still working on getting over that hurdle.

☠️ Because he is apprehensive to regress, he usually asks the others if it's ok to regress. He's trying to plan it out like on a block schedule. The others always do and remind him that, if he needs to regress, he can regress.

☠️ He has mixed results with regressing by himself. On one hand, it's easier for him to drop because he's alone and doesn't feel the "pressure" of "being good at regressing" or that he's not bothering the others. But on the other hand, he can't stay regressed for long because he gets in his own head. While he does not mock the others for regressing, a part of him mocks himself. He can't help but fear the idea of someone other than the band seeing him like this and going to the public. He warps into these realities where the press have photos of him regressing and he's having to read all of the awful things people are saying about him, or reading chat forums. It gets him upset and angry and he stops. He ends up just being afraid of doing it for a while.

☠️ Charles personally encourages Nathan to explore all possibilities to help him cope. He's well aware of the stress that AOTD and DSR caused him. He offers his office for Nathan to regress if he feels like he can't do it in front of the band.

☠️ Speaking of that, Nathan does sometimes feel embarrassed when he regresses with the band. He can't help it and often feels upset that he can't just let himself regress like everyone else. He knows they won't make him feel bad, but it's an internal hurdle he has to get through.

☠️ Through trial and error, the band does realize that Nathan is feeling understimulated and that's one of the reasons he can't stay regressed. (Remember in "Renovationklok" when he turns on the music over the construction noises and relaxes? Like that.) They've tried different methods to combat that like loud music and interactive stations with his interests, like a children's museum. They're still working out the best way to do it.

☠️ Nathan has an odd hang up on regressing because he is so large (Football Player physique). Mentally trying to envision himself smaller is hard when he can see and feel how big he is. Especially in his shoulders.

☠️ When Nathan does succeed at regressing, he is almost always non-verbal. The band has to use Communication Cards to ask him what he wants. Charles was able to talk with Rose about Nathan's childhood and what she used before he turned 5. His parents do not know he regresses/trying to regress and probably never will.

☠️ Though he goes non-verbal, he keeps his stoic face. He doesn't express a lot of outward emotion, but that doesn't mean he is unhappy or sad. He can be very happy while remaining stony faced. The band has a very time trying to figure out his emotions and if he's reacting well or poorly to what they themselves are doing or what he is doing. Nathan doesn't realize he's not outwardly showing his emotions and gets confused why the bands always asks him if he likes what they did for him or if he's ok. He's not upset by it though, he likes the level of attention.

☠️ Pickles calls him, "Big Boy", "Big Guy", and "Big Baby" to help him regress. He enunciates it in a way to reflect an older adult/sibling talking to a child/younger sibling. He's trying to appear as that person who would be taking care of Nathan if anything went wrong. He also calls him, "Bubby".

☠️ Toki and Murderface will infodump on Nathan when he's small. Toki will go into long and complex details of My Little Pony while Nathan sits on Toki's bed being non-verbal. The closed-in space with all of the objects around him and Toki's high-speed talking stimulate him enough to stay small. Watching an episode is a little harder but if they wear headphones, he can get through 1 or 2 just fine. Murderface will drag him to his room and talk about wars. Nathan really likes these types of infodumps because Murderface has a very stimulating room that peaks his interests a lot. Murderface also has no filter when he infodumps, so Nathan is always very intrigued when he speaks. Murderface is not allowed to show graphic images or movies to anyone who is regressed, but he's able to sneak in a few documentaries that he knows Nathan would like. Nathan has an easier time staying regressed when Murderface infodumps. He has on one very special occasion laid down and rested his head on Murderface's shoulder while watching a documentary.

☠️ Skwisgaar and Nathan talk a lot about finding ways to regress and stay regressed. Skwisgaar helps him identify what exactly he wants out of his regression. Is he trying to process something traumatic? Is he trying to cope with stress? Is he just wanting to relive childhood? Nathan has mixed answers. He doesn't want to relive his childhood (that he's aware of). For the most part, it was fine, other than that one incident. He wants to process his trauma and cope with stress, but he doesn't have a goal of what he wants the regression to actually do. He's not sure how regressing is going to get him to his goal.

☠️ Nathan has internal cringe about his regressing. He has no problem with his bandmate regressing but something about him doing it makes me want to crawl up a wall. Especially when he catches himself really letting himself regress. It's one of his worst enemies. The band works very very hard to remind him and encourage his regression as much as possible.

☠️ Nathan has this dilemma of being "caught" while regressing and feeling really bad for it. The first time it happened, Nathan was in the kitchen using one of Toki's coloring books that he left there. Pickles had walked in and, not realizing he was regressing, slapped him on the back and asked him how he was. Nathan got scared then very shameful because he just got "caught" regressing without first asking the others. Pickles realizes what happened and tries to keep him down but Nathan is too distraught and leaves. This usually ends with him crying to himself because of all the mixed feelings of shame, cringe, PTSD, and anger. Pickles, and the band, are more vigilante about checking first before assuming.

☠️ The band all have their ways keeping Nathan down.

☠️ Pickles reinforces a parental figure around him. Lots of attention and physical contact. Lots of non-direct ways to separate themselves into roles (Authority Figure/Child) Pickles tries to be gentle and very patient with Nathan. He almost treats him like how he treats Toki, with a lot of attention. He rubs Nathan's shoulders or back, or pets back his hair. Forehead kisses and pet names. Pickles is trying to keep him down by treating him as the age Nathan wants to be. Pickles does a lot of talking as well, lots of questions. ("Do you want a snack? How about some goldfish? Do you want apple juice? I can put in a bendy straw. Do you want me to put your hair up and out of your face?") But he praises a lot. ("That picture looks so good. Look how fast your car went, good job. You ate all your food, I'm so proud of you. When did you get so smart?")

☠️ Skwisgaar works with Nathan to find his goals and how to reach those goals through regression. Skwisgaar isn't about keeping or putting Nathan down, but to find the whys first, then find times where regressing would help achieve those goals. For example, if Nathan's goal is to cope with his PTSD, then Skwisgaar wants Nathan to recognize the triggers of his PTSD and utilize regression to calm him down. That would be like having a flashback or getting triggered by something, and if Nathan is aware-enough to know that then he should regress to alleviate his oncoming symptoms. (Just to note: I don't think Nathan's PTSD symptoms includes regression, like Toki. Nathan has to implement it on his own.)

☠️ Toki utilizes some of his own regression supplies with Nathan. Toki and Nathan go through some of Toki's things, like pacifiers, chewies, toys, stuffed animals, clothes, sippy cups, ect. They go through things that Nathan could keep on him or in his room to use to get himself to drop when he wants to. Nathan picks out the chewies. He likes the necklaces and gets one in the shape of an alligator. It's green and black and it very durable for Nathan's sharp canines. Toki also gives him a stuffed animal from his collection, a panda bear named Luna. She stays in Nathan's room under his pillow because he's embarrassed if someone sees him with it, he'll get joked.

☠️ Murderface becomes Nathan's friend, literally. Murderface will regress to join Nathan to make him less embarrassed and shy, and to also play with. They share a lot of similar interests, like enjoying gory history and fast cars. Their personalities match because Murderface is an unfiltered talker when he's regressed while Nathan is a non-verbal regressor. Murderface also knows what he wants to do when he's regressed, while Nathan feels a little awkward about what to do, which is completely normal. Murderface is making regression more enjoyable by being a companion and easing the stress of decision making. This usually ends in Murderface either getting in trouble (They're someplace they shouldn't), Murderface getting hurt (He's ok, he's just clumsy) or, a nap because they're both so tired after playing.

☠️ Skwisgaar likes brushing Nathan's hair when he's small and braid it. Toki wants to do it too but if he's also regressed, it just becomes a lot of tugging and a rats nest. Nathan usually isn't too mad, just a little sore. Pickles has to come in and rescue poor Nathan's head if he sees Skwisgaar struggling to move Toki back from Nathan's hair with a brush. Murderface just thinks it's funny.

☠️ Pickles has Jean-Pierre make some of Nathan's childhood favorite meals, which includes your usual all American favorites like hot dogs and hamburgers, but also includes his mother's casseroles and his father's BBQ. The smell helps him relax enough to regress a little.

☠️ Toki initiates something called "Cuddle Dropping" where instead of Toki cuddling up with Nathan, Nathan has to cuddle up with Toki. The reversal of roles is meant to ease him into dropping. The others will join in as they see fit.

☠️ It takes a long time for Nathan to feel comfortable just regressing by himself and longer to really get comfortable around the band.

☠️ Much like Murderface, he enjoys the spookier, creepier, gorey things in life. He does not shy away from a lot of things that others find gross or too much. Because of that, Nathan will often want to occupy his time doing or watching those kinds of things. For instance, he likes to put pretzels in water and watch them crumble (a safer alternative to operation videos they normally watch). He also likes to play in the dirt and catch bugs.

☠️ He is not afraid to touch any animal, dead or alive. If he goes outside, he does have to be supervised that he's not touching any dead animals or trying to catch a live one. Skwisgaar has had to run after him after he caught a snake and wanted to take it home as a pet.

☠️ Nathan does not have tantrums, similar to Skwisgaar. The closest he will get to a tantrum is when he and the others know he should regress and he's refusing to do it, and gets pouty.

☠️ Nathan will regress faster if he watches a Pixar movie. The band utilizes movie night to try and regress him or regress together with Charles in charge. Nathan loves Wall-E, Cars, and Finding Nemo but he likes all Pixar movies. They will have Disney Short nights where they go down the list and watch the shorts. Kit Bull makes Nathan cry so they have to be careful if he's trying to regress as to not further upset him.

☠️ Nathan is experimenting if regressing will help him from burnout. The idea is that he is thinking too hard on his songs, so he needs to take a step back. Regressing would help him see the world differently again, when things were simplier.

☠️ Nathan does not want a caregiver but he knows deep down that having a caregiver makes him feel better. He likes the idea of giving control over to someone else for some decisions. He has bad decision fatigue. Pickles and Charles are the best fit to be his caregiver. Pickles knows him enough to know what he wants, so he never really has to make a decision with him. Charles is good at limited decisions ("Do you want apple juice, orange juice, or water?")

☠️ Nathan has found great joy in stickers. He loves the act of peeling stickers and putting them on something. He has decorated multiple water bottles, notebooks, instruments, furniture pieces, ect. Even band members, klokateers, and Charles are not safe from his stickering.

☠️ Nathan will watch Disneyland and Disneyworld videos. He'll watch pin trading videos, around the world videos, merch hauls, tips and tricks, trivia, hotel and motel reviews, the different events reviews, and so many vlogs. Something about the vibe calms him down and reminds him of home. He'll even point out in the video if he remembers it firsthand or has a funny story to tell. He'll either do this alone in his room or cuddled up with someone.

☠️ Nathan takes a lot of naps when he's regressing because it makes him so calm. This results in a lot of blankets and pillows around Mordhaus for when the mood strikes. Skwisgaar also takes advantages of he nap spots and falls asleep in these places.

☠️ Nathan does cry easier when he's regressed. Without that extra layer of when he's big, he feels things deeper. He's able to really process his emotions now, past and present, and sometimes that ends in him having a little cry.

☠️ The band has a learning curve of what regressed Nathan enjoys doing. Murderface can usually make Nathan have fun doing stuff that he does, because they have similar interests. However, what Nathan likes to do as a child is hit or miss. Nathan likes his music, he likes his movies, he likes his youtube, and his likes his snacks. Sometimes the band will invite him to do something and he will be disinterested in it while other times, he's all about something that isn't an activity or game. He might not want to play with a bunch of toys that boys in his age range play but he likes to watch the fish in the fish tank or do solitude type activates. The band isn't sure if this is because he's truly disinterested in those things or if this is because Nathan didn't feel comfortable doing those things as an actual child, and it's bleeding into his regression. When they ask him when he's big, he doesn't have an answer. He's not sure himself and feels bad that he might be "regressing" wrong. The band tells him he isn't regressing wrong, they just want to do right by him.

☠️ Nathan does not have nicknames for anyone when he's regressed. Non-verbal or not, he is not comfortable giving anyone a nickname while regressed.

☠️ Weighted blankets is where it's at. He loves a solid weighted blanket and will lay under it for hours being little.

☠️ Nathan will purposefully not regress during times where he feels like it would inconvenience people, like during a meal. He feels like it would be annoying and the band will start to really dislike him if he did that.

☠️ Nathan has regressed in the hot tub on accident. He didn't even know he did it until he felt Pickles' hands on his forehead. Toki had brought in a few bath toys into the hot tub and was playing with them. A boat had floated to Nathan and without thinking, he bobbed it up and down in the water, until he was fully playing boats and submarines with Toki.

☠️ The most the band will get out of Nathan verbally is if they talk to him about different bands and musicians. Skwisgaar has a knack for both knowing bands Nathan refers to while also introducing Nathan to new bands he doesn't know about. They will sit in silence and listen to bands together then talk about it afterwards.

☠️ Nathan is a chip fiend no matter the mindset. He is getting a bowl of Cool Ranch Doritos and he's dogging them down like he's never eaten a day in his life. The only difference is that someone will wipe his hands clean after he's done because he might be too far gone to clean them himself. The band doesn't mind this. It's a good sign that Nathan is feeling comfortable in his regression.

☠️ While Nathan no longer hears the Whale in his dreams anymore, he does get nightmares of the Whale and the world if he never finished the song. He has to lay down and sleep in Pickles room to regress and cry it out. It's a very stressful time for him.

☠️ Nathan likes to play videos games from his youth when he's regressed. So he plays a lot of Nintendo 64 games like Mario, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Castlevania, Doom 64, a handful of Disney copyright games. He loves playing Conker's Bad Fur Day because it makes him laugh. He sets it up in the living room and the band will watch him play it.

☠️ Regressing helps Nathan physically loosen his muscles. He's very tight all around but he's realized that when he regressed, his body physically loosens in his shoulders, his back, his jaw, and his neck. He also does not get as many headaches or migraines when he's regressed.

☠️ Nathan encounters doubts about regressing "the correct way" because as a kid, he was told that he wasn't playing/being a kid "the correct way". Dr. Twinkletits has multiple sessions with him to dissuade this notion that there is a correct way. What Nathan is doing during his regression is valid, even if it doesn't perfectly match up with the others. No one regression path is the same. As long as he is happy and reaching the intended reasoning for regressing, then he's regressing "correctly." This furthers into a much deeper conversation about his actual childhood and the way he was treated as a child for being different. (I personally see Nathan as Autistic, so I feel that this HC overall covers that pathway.)

☠️ I don't see Nathan using kid clothes to regress, but I think he would get into more nostalgic clothes to regress, like old bands tees.

☠️ He loves getting his nails painted and loves painting the bands nails. He is very focused when he does these nails so don't bother him and don't try to talk to him. He always gives himself traditional black nails while he takes requests what the band wants. Toki wants a rainbow, Pickles wants green ("Like a pickle! Get it?"), Skwisgaar wants blue, and Murderface always wants something different but way out of Nathan's capabilities ("I want a matchbox car on my thumbs, two wheels on my middle fingers, and fire on my pinkies.") They come out not bad.

☠️ Toki introduces him to baths and regressing. Nathan takes to it like nothing else. He loves being in the bath, he loves the toys, he loves the bubbles. It's the perfect place for him to regress. The biggest issue is getting him out of the tub.

☠️ Nathan does a lot of staring. It's not to scare anyone, he just likes looking at what everyone is doing. Charles lets him sit in the office with him and watch him work. Something about the atmosphere is perfect for observing.

☠️ Growing up in Florida meant that Nathan spent a lot of time in the pool growing up. He likes to just sit in the water or float around on top. Murderface will construct pool games for him and Toki and Skwisgaar will compete with him. Pickles is usually on a float to the side with a drink, which gets tipped over sometime during the day.

☠️ Sometimes regressing doesn't help the PTSD and Nathan winds up feeling small and scared. He doesn't get fighty like how everyone thought. He shuts down, cries, and panics. There's an overwhelming sense of responsibility and expectation that won't leave him alone during those times, along with the flashbacks. The band does their best to console him. It's a lot of rocking, affirmation, music, distractions, cuddles, and naps. It's a tiring job.

☠️ Nathan wants to chew on the wood table. Don't let him chew on the wood table.

☠️ When Nathan gets comfortable regressing, his favorite activity turns out to be cuddling and watching TV. It reminds him of cuddling with his mom or dad when he was a boy and he likes the feeling of someone rubbing his back and listening to their heartbeat. It makes him feel safe.

Dethklok Agere HCs: Murderface Edition

After Toki, I wanted to do my second favorite member of Dethklok: Murderface! I see so much of myself in him and it's hard to not notice the signs. He means a lot to me, especially as someone who also grew up with their grandparents. I hope to do the rest of the band soon. So, this is my boy Murderface 🗡️!

(Murderface, you are so unwell and I just want to take care of you and show you that you are worthy of love and acceptance.)

🗡️ Ok, so, I think Murderface's regression range is higher than Toki's toddler head-space but not as old as Pickles, who I think is an older/pre-teen regressor. I would say he's around 5 to 8. He's old enough to be by himself and play but small enough to still need help occasionally.

🗡️ As I said before on Toki's post, I don't think Murderface's regression is easily as recognizable as regression. A lot of times, the band thinks he's just being his attention-seeking self. Murderface doesn't even recognize that he's regressing until he's done regressing and feeling weird about it.

🗡️ Murderface, I believe, has voluntary age regression, or Age Dreaming. However, I think his body recognizes that he needs to regress to decompress, so he'll naturally go do those things or behave that way to help regulate those emotions. It gets worse the angrier or more depressed he gets. It's like his body is consciously making him regress without Murderface having the word to know what he's doing. He can stop "regressing" when he wants to, and has the ability to not do it in the first place, but it's been his coping mechanism for so long, he doesn't know what else to do. Mind this, Murderface's regression isn't about just being a baby, I do believe his regression is tightly connected with his self-harm and child-hood trauma. For instance, his inability to care for his personal hygiene is a type of passive self-harm but his regression (tied to his childhood) makes it hard for him to change that habit. Where Toki uses his regression to protect himself, Murderface's regression keeps him trap in his childhood. It won't be until Murderface recognizes he is regressing and working on his mental health will he be able to use his regression to help himself. (I hope this makes sense.)

🗡️ I think he started regressing a lot earlier than people think but they were just unable to identify it at first. I think he began regressing as young as a middle schooler, but the regressing was so minute and so insignificant that no one ever caught it. Additionally, I think middle school is where Murderface first develops the majority of his mental health issues like depression and an eating disorder.

🗡️ It's not until Murderface is taking care of Toki when he regresses that he starts noticing the signs of his own regression. The band all have group mandatory meetings with Dr. Twinkletits about how to best care for Toki and how to spot the signs of his regression to minimize dangerous situations. Murderface is very quiet during those meetings after the realization.

🗡️ While Pickles or Nathan are usually the more knowledge in the topic now, as they are Toki's main CGs, it's Skwisgaar that notices Murderface showing signs of regression first while watching Toki play with Murderface in the living room. He's talks to the rest of the band before they decide to talk to Murderface about it.

🗡️ Of course he heavily denies the claim and refuses to hear anymore about it. But now that the band is aware, they all keep an eye on him just in case.

🗡️ This is a HC of mine that has been stuck forever, but I believe the first time Murderface fully lets himself regress in front of the others is at the beach. The idea is that Toki and Murderface run off together while the other three stay on the beach. Toki regresses and Murderface is stuck taking care of him but the longer he's with him, the calmer he gets. He wants to be like Toki too and just enjoy himself. So they spend the afternoon having fun and going in shops and walking the boardwalk. They come back and Toki collapses on Skwisgaar for a much needed nap. The band fully expects Murderface to sit in his own chair and do the same but he ends up just standing next to Pickles. Pickles has no idea what he's doing but he longer he stands there, the clearer the image appears. It isn't until Murderface asks if he can nap with Pickles do they all realize what is happening. It's a very delicate situation and no one is trying to mess with it, so Pickles says yes and lets Murderface nap with him on his chair. Nathan is busy texting Charles while Pickle holds Murderface. Toki is fast asleep and Skwisgaar is feeling proud of himself for being so observant.

🗡️ Once Murderface was identified as a regressor, a lot of past incidents began to make sense, including the disturbing ones.

🗡️ Murderface self-harms but that doesn't stop in his regression. If Murderface is feeling too little to SH "properly" (like cutting), he will hurt himself in ways that he can like banging his head against walls and hitting himself. He will bite himself and scratch at his skin. Nathan has taken to holding him against his chest to get him to stop.

🗡️ I like to think that Murderface's eating disorder, which I HC as binge eating, is also related to his childhood trauma thus connected to his regression. The combination of self-hatred, depression, and regression make it hard for Murderface to regulate his feelings about food, so he does what knows can "fix" that problem, which is eating. And the more upset he gets, the messier he gets. He uses his hands instead of silverware, he switches between plates before finishing one off, he lets the food and drink spill and stain him. I HC that Murderface grew up in poverty, so there was never enough food inside the house, so he was always hungry. He's confusing his depression with hunger, thinking that if he just eats, he'll feel better because he was always hungry when he was sad. But the older he got, the less this became true but the habit already formed. Regression happens while he's in the process of binge eating. He's slipping into a mindset where this has to make sense, even if it hurts him.

🗡️ Ok, enough of the sad, backstory HCS. Murderface has a hot wheels car track that he sets up in his room or the living room where he races his hot wheels. The others join in as well and it's a good time (as long as Murderface wins a majority of the time).

🗡️ Murderface's regression is not as "baby" as Toki's. A lot of it is very typical young boy interests like cars, trucks, war, and guns. He likes video games and stupid, crude humor like South Park.

🗡️ I don't see him using a lot of traditional regression supplies like bottles or clothes. He likes to remain as he his and doing what he's doing while regressed. Though, he does like to be in comfier clothes when he regresses, so he will change into sweats or worn shirts.

🗡️ Because Murderface is able to identify that he is choosing to regress in moments of stress, he's been able to make great work with Dr. Twinkletits about his mental health.

🗡️ The band is very supportive of him, much to his surprise. He didn't think they would be anything but begrudgingly helpful. But they are genuinely understanding.

🗡️ While I do not think Murderface needs or wants a caregiver like Toki, he does spend a lot of time near Nathan when he feels particularly small. He looks up to Nathan a lot, and wants to be around him.

🗡️ If Pickles notices that Murderface is feeling smaller than normal, he'll quietly switch a few things around to help him drop. He's gotten very good at body language (hand on the back, raking fingers through his hair) and communication (chosen phrases or names that solidify his regression, words of encouragement)

🗡️ Murderface has a lot of crying spells and tantrums that no one can make a lot of sense of, including Murderface. His tantrums aren't like Toki's, which resemble an actual toddlers tantrum. His tantrums look like his normal behavior, except they're followed by tears or a high level of nonsense. His biggest tell is if what he's yelling about isn't even close to the situation he's in. When he's small, he overthinks every little movement or word and worry's about what they mean. These thoughts happen so fast that it's hard for him to track just how he got to his tantrum in the first place.

🗡️ Murderface won't take bubble baths like Toki, but he is much more willing to bathe now that he understands his regression and his depression. He'll put on music while he showers and watch youtube videos on how to take care of his hair. He's still scared that if the band sees him trying they'll make fun of him, but he has to remind himself that this is for himself, not the others.

🗡️ Skwisgaar will often offer to brush through Murderface's hair before bed if he knows he's had a long day. Something about being taken cared of just relaxes Murderface and makes him feel small.

🗡️ Surprisingly, no one in the band is Murderface's favorite. It's actually Knubbler. (He's alive, shut up.)

🗡️ He's an IPad kid (Obviously) but its obnoxiously worse when he's regressed. Pickles as gotten really good at parent locking his IPad to certain hours so he won't use it while they're eating dinner or lunch. Murderface despises it but he also knows if it wasn't there, he would be playing car revving videos at 100% volume while eating.

🗡️ Skwisgaar is very attentive when he wants to be, so he's constantly gently doing things that make Murderface drop without necessarily meaning to, but Murderface never forces himself to stop the feeling. Toki needs a lot of support in his regression, so Skwisgaar naturally does those "Caregiver" things already. Like, cleaning dirty fingers after eating, moving hair out of his face while he's busy doing something, fixing blankets around shoulders, gently moving them int he right direction if he begins drifting away. Murderface doesn't encourage them but he never denies them.

🗡️ Toki adores it whenever any of the other band members are regressed because he feels like he can finally give back after having them all take care of him. He loves playing with Murderface with his cars or playing pretend. Problems happen when Toki accidently regresses in the middle of it.

🗡️ Murderface loves playing pretend war. He has his wake guns with the nerf bullets and the plastic hat. He hides under tables and behind doors and shoots whoever walks by. He's only ever gotten in serious trouble when he got Charles in the butt in his office when he was on a phone call.

🗡️ Speaking of trouble, Murderface does get into some trouble when he's small. The band does not discipline him like they would discipline Toki with a time out, but Nathan does scold him. He's the only one that gets to him when he's small and knows that he's serious.

🗡️ He wants a dog so bad but he's scared the guys won't let him. Skwisgaar and Toki will take him to the local animal shelter to play volunteer. It lets him get all his energy out with the dogs and play fight with the bigger dogs.

🗡️ He will NOT sit a chair correctly. Upside down or on his side ONLY! (Projection as I laid in arm chairs sideways during this age.)

🗡️ He loves He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword, TMNT, G.I.Joe, M.A.S.H., Ghost Buster The Animated Show, Thundercats, and Transformers. He's got good taste for older cartoons and shows. It's his biggest tell that he's small or trying to get small is if he's watching one of these shows. However, if he's watching Gilligan's Island or Walker: Texas Ranger, he's trying to get small and be sad. I HC that these are the shows his grandma and grandad would watch when he was a kid.

🗡️ As a child raising by her grandparents, I think Murderface's regression triggers are related to a lot of things that his grandparents did in the house. This could mean the good, the bad, and mundane things. The snapping of a belt, or an expired discontinued perfume, or the sound of an old TV clicker. But also, certain music.

🗡️ So, Murderface is canonically partially Native American (Thunderbolt) but I also adore him being part Hispanic/Latino (Stella being an Americanized version of Estella) Top that off with him being some southern, rural part of America, his music exposure is all over the place. Three types of music help him regress the most: Bluegrass, Hispanic (Salsa + Cumbia + Bachata), and Thrash. I HC that his grandfather played bluegrass before having his stroke and he played some type of string instrument such as lap steel guitar or a mandolin. The sound of it reminds him of sitting in church or his grandfather playing in his spare time around the house. Hispanic, specifically those genres, remind him of his grandmother's radio in the kitchen. She always had something playing while she cooked or cleaned or played dominos with the other older women of the town. On very rare moments, she would dance with Thunderbolt while smiling. It's some of the only calm times in the house. Thrash reminds him of being young and finding music that felt like him. It would remind him of car rides with uncles and staying over at old childhood friends houses and older male cousins that never let him in their rooms. Music helps him regress a lot, whether he wants it or not. (This is all projection btw. Grandfather played bluegrass with a guitar and my father listened to Thrash in the car with me.)

🗡️ He has a very hard time with food when he's small. He eats too much because of part of him is worried about the next time he'll ever get to eat again. Pickles has to constantly remind him that the food isn't going anywhere and if he's full, he can stop eating.

🗡️ Nathan humors Murderface more when he knows he's small. He'll listen more closely to him about song suggestions or his interests.

🗡️ Very rarely will he ask for help when he's small but it does happen. Things like needing help tying shoes or buttoning shirts he will need help in. He also needs help cutting food.

🗡️ He loves swimming. He probably had a lake, river, or pond near him growing up that he swam in. When he's small and it's hot, he wants to play in the pool. He wants to play sharks and minnows, Marco Polo, scavenger, races, and dunking games. He plays with Toki the most but can occasionally get them all involved. Charles usually watches over them all when they do all get in.

🗡️ Hates sunscreen and will run and hide before getting any on his skin.

🗡️ He info dumps big time. To a point where no one has any idea what he could possibly be talking about. He's a big history nerd, so it's a lot of war facts, early American facts, and other miscellaneous facts about cars and guns.

🗡️ Being regressed exposes a lot of his old childhood beliefs, but the biggest ones are the Appalachian superstitions he grew up believing. Charles had an upside down horseshoe places above every outside door for good luck. The klokateers can't wash clothes on Sundays. He refuses to leave a room out a different door than the door he came through. Some of them are funny though like an itchy ear meaning someone is talking about you. He once told that to Toki who immediately went to Skwisgaar to confront him for talking about him. (Skwisgaar was actually talk about him to Nathan but he won't admit it.)

🗡️ Strong physical contact is his best friend for calming down. Just like how adult Murderface likes Pickle's back rubs, regressed Murderface likes head rubs. Something about the pressure feels good and calms him. They use this to prevent any tantrums.
