because i love over analyzing the stuff that doesn’t actually matter that much in the big picture, i’ve been trying to figure out the timeline of when kalyaan disappeared so i have more things to angst over

this is proving a bit difficult because somehow, within FIVE YEARS, kalyaan:

moved to bin-er with his family and joined an accounting firm

quit the accounting firm to be an errand runner

bought his family a massive, expensive house

poached the clients from his former accounting firm and disappeared

helped henshe become zongdu of bin-er

went to jonduri as a plant

rose up in the ranks until he became chaisee’s right hand man

AND developed a genuine relationship with chaisee to the point that she is seven months pregnant during tdoy

more below the cut as i attempt to figure this out

okay, first things first: the five years hard deadline is indeed canon. kavik was 12 when the family moved to bin-er, and 17 during tdoy, both ages confirmed in the book

kalyaan’s age is never specified anywhere, it’s assumed he’s in his (very) early twenties. his actual age isn’t important to this specific part of the timeline but because i’m doing this for more Kavik Angsting, it’s important to me. after some speculating (hi kat 🤭) i think the best guess is that kalyaan is around 5/6 years older than kavik

anyway!

so we’ve got five years to work with to get all this done. somehow. my goal with this is to keep it at least somewhat plausible regarding how much time events would take, but also create maximum drama, angst, and general toxic sibling dynamics

here’s how i think this all may have possibly played out:

- the family moved to bin-er when kavik was 12 and kalyaan was around 17/18 (kalyaan’s age during this is again based on my headcanon, so feel free to ignore that bit if you feel differently)

- the entire family began work at their local accounting firm

- kalyaan walked out after “less than six months”. for a bit of ease, i’m going to round this to a full six months

- he joined the errand runners, where he met henshe

- on henshe: he’s a bit older than kalyaan, being in his mid-twenties. i imagine he’d been doing the errand runner thing for a bit longer and showed kalyaan the ropes, the two of them becoming friends. kalyaan’s skill with gathering information was likely the thing henshe was missing to really shoot him up in the world and start getting his name out there

- at some point, kalyaan bought his family a bigger, expensive home. it was “soon after” that the private customer list from the accounting firm was poached, with kalyaan obviously being the culprit as he disappeared immediately after

- at first i was thinking it would have taken him a while to get money for a house, even with a lucrative errand-runner job, but…

- that’s not how things work in bin-er. everything is purchased on promise, and you work off the debt after. i think kalyaan poached the customer list in order to pay off his debt for his family’s new house. which would mean this happened fairly soon after he became a runner

- therefore, i’m saying that kalyaan disappeared after only about a year in bin-er

- meaning kavik would have been 13 the last time he saw his brother…

- now, kalyaan didn’t leave bin-er after this. he stayed and continued working with henshe to get him up to the rank of zongdu

- imagine the angst potential of him living in the city still but unable to contact his family… delicious, i say

- and since henshe bribed his way to the zongdu position, it might not have actually taken him that long to achieve it. let’s say about a year of work

- soon after becoming zongdu, henshe sent kalyaan to jonduri to be a deep plant in chaisee’s organization

- so i’m giving kalyaan a full three years in jonduri before tdoy. i think, considering his skills and personality, that’s more enough to work his way to the top and develop a genuine relationship with chaisee

- because their relationship really has to be strong and genuine. it was never super clear to me when exactly kalyaan came clean about his double-agent stuff, but after doing some referencing it seems that it happened AFTER unanimity was sent to bin-er. and their relationship was strong enough that chaisee forgave him

to finish it up: kalyaan spent 2 years in bin-er, 1 living with his family and 1 fully working for henshe. after henshe became zongdu he was sent to jonduri where he spent the next 3 years, eventually developing a relationship with chaisee. (i’d also fully accept a 2 & 1/2, 2 &1/2 split, but it’s easier to use full years than halves lol)

anyway. yeah 👍

As someone who's been in multiple fandom circles and calls themselves a Splatoon fan, I've seen a lot of focus and discussion on "THE LORE!!" and "CANON!!!" and to be honest with you... it's getting really tiring and I think people are just WAY TOO obsessed with what a wiki or an intern at Nintendo says rather than forming their own perspective on events and coming to their own unique conclusions.

Now, I wanna say, if talking about lore and discussing which elements are canon or not makes you happy and you love talking about that, then that's perfectly okay. It's fine. It's not for ME personally because my focus on Splatoon is the gameplay, music and the storytelling chops of each Hero Mode.

Because, to get away from Splatoon for a second, for my Sonic fans out there, you remember when Sega and the people behind the show Sonic Prime said that it was canon to the mainline Sonic timeline? And if you said otherwise you were technically wrong because "oh Sega said this, so it MUST be true!"

........But then everyone said that Sonic Prime cannot be canon to the mainline Sonic timeline because it has a fuck ton of inconsistencies? Yeah.... funny. Basically, don't put a lot of focus into "what actually happened" and "oh this is what the multi billion dollar corporation said!" because there's always gonna be one guy out there that goes "um this information kinda fucking damages the story in a severe way." (And sometimes that one guy is me.... hehehehe....)

I could obviously talk about.... you know.... Hypno Callie again for the 50th trillion time.... (and i will)..... This bitch.... I wanna love you girlie i really fucking do but Nintendo and millions of people make it hard to....

Nintendo set up Callie's villain arc decently in Splatoon 1 with the Splatfest dialogue, the Squid Sister stories and the Sunken Scrolls, yet they ultimately damaged the progression of the arc by saying "nah fuck u she got kidnapped and brainwashed, removing all of her memories and free will because fuck telling a good story with satisfying set up and pay off that allows for character growth. Fundamentals of storytelling? What are those?" And it also destroyed Callie as a character by reducing her to an object that the player "must save from da evil Octavioooo" and "oh look at her! She put the stupid brainwashing shades onnn againnn!! such a dumb fucking moron dumbass piece of shit right guys?!? lmaoooooooooo!! explore the dangers of addiction and how you need to seriously change your life and be surrounded by those you love in order to change bad habits?? Themes?? PFFTTT! NAWWW! THAT'S LAMEEEE!! It's Callie! No one cares about Callie!! She's stupiddd!!!"

(I talked about Callie in a tumblr comment section one time and I got made fun of for by a guy way older than me. I love humanity.)

It also ruined DJ Octavio's character too because, if what Nintendo said is true about what he did then he cannot be redeemed in Splatoon 3. He cannot go back on the shit he's done. But they try to redeem him out of nowhere and now he's all chill with the New Squidbeak Splatoon and appeared in the Grand Fest.... Yet what he did to Callie which Nintendo loves to push is truly TRULY unredeemable and if that's the case then welp.... I call that bad writing, straight up. It's bad writing.

I really hate it when something happens in a story and you perceive it in a certain way where you feel like it elevates the events, but then the company behind the story chooses to pick the worst outcomes possible just because? And everyone rolls with it just cause? Ugh...

Lesson of today is, don't fucking listen obsessively to what a company says and suck it up. Consume media and come to your own conclusions on what happened. As long as you have tangible evidence to back up your claims you can make any interpretation you want to, whatever makes you feel happy bestie!

My Dragon Age protagonists as Epic: The Musical Songs

Please keep in mind these are all based off my own DA protagonists, honestly you could use any song from the musical for each of them! I also interpret the songs a little differently then how they actually are in the musical, but it's all for fun!

The Warden- Would You Fall In Love With Me Again

Okay so this one was probably the most difficult. In fact I actually almost went with 'Six Hundred Strike', but I felt that was more an Alistair song. Went with this in the end because well... 20 years... My cannon Warden romanced Zevran, and with the length of a Warden's life span I felt it fit in a lot of ways. While I know the real context for the song. I like to think that even after 20 years, and possibly being separated countless times within those years. The Warden and Zevran still choose to fall in love over and over.

Hawke- Just a Man

I mean like, come on. No matter who your Hawke is this song fits so well. Honestly any of Odysseus' crash out songs would fit. But in the end Hawke goes through so much and has an insane weight put on his shoulders. They really were just a person from a small village. Who had tragedy, after tragedy thrust upon them. My Hawke romanced Fenris, and had a small (rebound) fling with Anders. He held everyone in his life so close to his heart. While the whole of the song doesn't fit, the brokenness of Odysseus in 'Would You Fall In Love With Me Again' is about how I imagine the mental state of Hawke by the end of DA2 and a little into inquisition.

The Inquisitor- No Longer You

My Inquisitor went through A LOT, even before the events of the game took place. And like Varric mentions in the early, early game as well as later. The inquisitor is no longer a person, not really. They become this unreachable symbol. This beacon of hope, justice, and salvation for Thedas. Who they were, who they wanted to be. None of that matters anymore. One could argue it was when they took up the title of Inquisitor, others when you stepped out of the fade after the the conclave explosion. But it all ends in the same spot. The Inquisitor, again at least for me, can no longer and is no longer able to remain/go back to who he was.

My cannon Rook, while not wanting to be a hero per say. Does see the injustice in the world and wish to help in any way he can. It could be big like helping the people of Dock Town or small like helping a farmer bring in their harvest. The relationship between Telemachus and Odysseus fits perfectly. And being a Crow he's constantly fighting an unwanted guest in his home. Getting into a fight bad enough, as we know, he has to leave for a while. Would say Varric swooped in like Athena, but ya know... We sorta saved him in this background lol.

Ten years.

The first ever Gruvia Week was held in 2013. It is now 2023. Meaning, this is the 11th edition/Gruvia Week... but 10 years have passed since the creation of this blog and beloved event that’s been held on the exact same dates since the beginning (April 1st - April 7th). That’s right, the event date has never changed, never held early, nor late. To keep it this consistent and for so long is truly an accomplishment.

Thank you to all the wonderful fans that have kept this event alive for so long. It has been my pleasure to host this celebration for the last 10 years, and it’s because of you that I do so. All the dedicated Gruvia lovers deserve this. The fandom has changed a lot as time went on. People come and go. However, most notably, we have grown in more ways than one. Likewise, Gray and Juvia have gone through a tremendous amount of development in the last decade. They have confirmed mutual romantic love and a son that we have yet to meet in earthland, but still very much canon in the manga and drawn by the author (Hiro Mashima) of his own accord on multiple occasions. Despite this, we are still waiting for the day they “officially” get together. The setup and foreshadowing is there... He wants it, so Gray, confess to Juvia soon!

In the meantime, we celebrate the ship once again. Here are the official Gruvia Week 2023 prompts displayed in the image above. Just like in previous years these prompts are not complicated, but they are broad and meant to make you think. Be creative. Interpret them however you see fit. Event Info & Rules

TBB APPRECIATION WEEK is a week-long, prompt-based creation challenge to celebrate our love for the Batchers and the show. There are 7 groups of prompts—one for each day of the week—, which can be used, skipped, or combined in any way you’d like. They are meant to be an inspiration without being taken literally (i.e., you don’t have to include the exact wording of prompts in your work). Feel free to interpret them at your convenience. For example, if the prompt is “anooba”, you can create either something about the animal, use it as a name/mascot of a sports team in your modern-day AU, or as an analogy for someone with a voracious appetite. It’s up to you.

Each group contains a Theme (which is in and on itself a prompt), an AU/Trope, Dialogue, an extra character, NSFW, and a color palette). You can use them in combination or just pick one. Lucifer is very much intrigued. He would love to learn more, but he would never outright ask you.

Lucifer is far too prideful to come out and say it, so you'd have to look at his body language.

The very slight twinkle in his eye when you explain, the small but noticable genuine smile that crosses his lips.

He very much enjoys your cooking, and will compliment you subtly.

He's particularly fond of the times you'll come into his private study and sit by the fireplace while you tell him all sorts of stories.

MAMMON ;; THE SCUMMY SECOND-BORN

Oh, Mammon is all for it. He's asking you for recipes, stories, and recommending you sell both throughout the Devildom.

He's listening intently, and getting excited anytime you bring something about your culture up during conversation.

Although, if you bring it up, his face will immediately turn beet-red and he'll say something along the lines of:

"O-Of course it ain't i-interestin'! But I'm ya first man, ain't I? I g-gotta let my human yap ev'ry now 'nd again!'

He is so hopelessly in love with you, it's not even funny.

LEVIATHAN ;; THE OTAKU THIRD-BORN

I actually cannot see Leviathan being too concerned with it at first. He'd probably be more concerned with watching anime with you, reading manga with you, or playing games with you to really care about your ethnicity.

He'd more than likely start to point out characters in separate animes or games that share the same ethnicity as you.

If you were to make different Filipino meals for him, he would be absolutely over the moon. If you bring him the food, make sure you bring tissues with you.

He'd listen to your stories, occasionally making references to TSL, Ruri-Chan, or others, if possible.

All in all, He wouldn't really care at first, but he would become more interested the more time passed.

SATAN ;; THE CYNICAL FOURTH BORN

Knowing Satan, he'd probably already know a lot. And he'd hold it over Lucifer's head that he knows more about your ethnicity than he does

Besides that, he's perfectly willing to listen to your stories, even if he knows them already.

He's particularly fond of your cooking, and he will tell you that. He might point out subtle things that he'd change, but he doesn't really care if you take his advice or not. After all, he's not a chef.

If he finds any sorts of books that have to do with your ethnicity, he'd bring them to you and let you read them, after he reads them first though.

He would also love to sit down and read them with you, or to you, if you asked.

ASMODEUS ;; THE NARCISSISTIC FIFTH-BORN

Asmo just thinks it's so cute! Especially when you're cooking, or telling him stories.

He might watch himself around your food, given his public appearance, but that doesn't mean he dislikes it!

He's truly fond of your cooking, he is. He's just weary of other people's opinions.

He loves listening to your stories while he does your makeup, or his own.

Even during his 26-step skincare routine, he's probably having you come to his room so he can listen to your stories.

BEELZEBUB ;; THE FAMISHED SIXTH-BORN

Marry him. On the spot. Beel absolutely loves Human-World food, and the fact that you're willing to make it for him? Oh, he's in love.

You may have to shove him out of the kitchen because otherwise, he'll eat all of the ingredients before you can even put them together.

If he manages to stay put and not eat any of the ingredients, he's watching you cook albeit while drooling.

He literally looks like an excited puppy when you give him the food.

He chows it down quickly, and asks you for more. Make a shitton, it'll go quickly.

BELPHEGOR ;; THE CATNAPPING SEVENTH-BORN

Belphie probably couldn't care less about your culture. If his twin is happy, he's happy.

The only time he'd more than likely be interested, is if he just so happens to fall asleep to one of your stories.

He'd start to ask to you come back, and eventually he wouldn't be able to fall asleep without your stories.

Obviously, he would, but with some struggle. It's Belphie, the Avatar of Sloth we're talking about here.

He's probably pretty fond of your food, although he much prefers your stories.

would you be up to explain the differences between canon Henry and your headcanons for him? Fandom interpretations are always so different I never know what’s common knowledge and not lol I’m intrigued

Hello! I'm not good at explaining stuff, so excuse any mistakes I might make. I might also misinterpret canon as I am only human, and my memory can fail me at times.

Also, with my headcanons I'm going to get deeper with some events and plotpoints instead of just giving general personality analysis.

The most important thing about canon Henry - for me - is that he is possessive - in a way.

You can kind of see it reflected in Charlie, who herself is pretty possessive of her things, memories and experiences.

Henry cannot let go of things and people he lost, it's natural, but his obsession is off putting even to his loved ones. He never lets go of Charlie, the diner, or the pizzeria.

He might have left Fredbear's, but the building remains where it was, the stage still inside. The springlock suits remain, allowing William to go on with his crimes.

He moves and opens another pizzeria. He makes a robot replica of his daughter, whom he cannot love properly anymore but clings to selfishly. He makes himself believe that she is still alive, only to rage when he realised she is… not. He can be somewhat cruel in his entitlement. Negligent, distant and utterly miserable after the tragedy.

He must have known it was William who's commited the crimes, police knew, after all.

But I don't think he would ever say anything against him.

He wouldn't want to lose anyone else; anything else, after all.

In the games, though, he is equally depressed but seems almost vindicitve. Driven. Quite literally, he spends the rest of his life hunting William down, possibly not even sure if it makes any sense.

To be honest: it's even possible that he knew all along that William was alive inside the suit, that he was the one to lock him in that place for 30 years, behind a wall. Maybe he wanted him to suffer; maybe he wants to be the one to decide whether and how William is to die after what he's done.

After William gets out, Henry lures and hunts him and the others. He doesn't even care that he is hurting his daughter in the process.

He drags all the Aftons, as well as Charlie, into his big suicide mission. He cannot be sure they will pass; cannot be sure that Michael wants to. But he makes the decision for everyone.

I don't think he considers the spirits human at all - he is much more concerned with his vengeance as much as he likes to talk about setting them free (he fails, after all).

I think Henry resents the whole Afton family, using Mike as a tool.

As calculating as William, what a match.

In my own headcanons - yes, Henry's got that violent streak and low empathy - he doesn't get people.

He's big, strong and loud - can be intimidating.

He's way more social than my William, but people still fing him mostly unpleasant to be around. He is nice; a real family man, loving and trying. But he is ultimately just as awkard as his book counterpart and similarly single-minded as the game one.

Awkward around kids, distant at times, mainly concerned with things he seems to enjoy.

I imagine that Charlotte loves him a lot, and he loves her too, but as she grows up, so does the gap between them.

In my personal aus and headcanons Henry was in love with William and got his heart broken by him multiple times but clings to those feelings, and even after getting married, he cannot let go.

He and his wife get a divorce soon after having Charlie - she stays with her mother but sees him on weekends. He was supposed to have her over for a week every 2, but he is burying himself in his work.

He is overwhelmingly unhappy.

The diner and working on the animatronics brings him joy - he loves it - but he needs to deal with seeing William every day of his life, getting mixed signals and his hopes up, before being rejected again and again. Ironically, William thinks he is the one being rejected. Henry is possessive of his work (his whole life) afterall, so he excludes him, leaving him to the paperwork.

Anyways, his whole life is work, work and more work. He is much more invested in the Afton family affairs than his own, spoiling William's children as much as he does Charlie, wanting that life - wanting a big, happy family.

When he doesn't stay late at work he drinks alone at home.

He meets William outside of Freddy's at times. Sometimes, they go private. It's nice, and it hurts to be toyed with. It hurts that the man he loves seems to treat it as entertainment, from Henry's perspective at least (Later, I have to write down William's take on things).

He drinks until he knows that Charlie is coming home, and then, he tries to be fun and a good father, and he is.

But Charlie is smart and notices things.

Charlie likes William; they're very similar personality-wise.

Henry drinks more, considering what could be.

After William loses his wife and is left with the kids, Henry is ashamed because he's considered going to him, asking if they could try again.

He doesn't, instead helping with the kids, being particiularly close with Michael.

Just like Charlie is close with Will, Mike is close to Henry.

And Mike talks, and Henry sees what William is going through and what he does to the kids.

He tells William right away that he shouldn't worry about work and should focus on the kids (should not speak of her in present tense) and their well-being.

They argue.

When 83' happens, it gets worse.

Everyone is off.

William's parenting gets worse. Henry feels forced into this decision. William doesn't talk to his kids, he is consumed by work, and when he isn't, he does God knows what in the privacy of his office. He makes mistakes, is messy. Smells of alcohol even at work. Snaps at clients, barely talks to Henry at all.

Henry considers breaking it all off.

Charlie dies.

Henry feels stupid for ever considering firing William - distancing himself from him - as he cries into his shoulder.

They cling to each other, and Henry thinks he knows. But who else does he have left? His ex wife, who looks at him with disgust? Whom he never felt close to at all? She blames him; Charlie died under his care, in his restaurant, and so soon after Evan's death, too!

She is right, of course.

He is disgusted as well.

When Elizabeth dies, he is sure that William is behind everything, and he confronts him but ultimately doesn't do anything with it. Doesn't tell anyone or go to police.

Only after William disappears, leaving Michael under his care, Henry grows hateful of him. Processes everything and turns bitter, vengeful.

Michael looks like William, and Henry lets him live under his roof, but they are not family anymore.

Henry drinks more - his days are a blur.

He feels pathetic and cruel, but doesn't care. Mike is in and out of the house, clearly not apprieciating his company.

He gets it, but he resents him for it.

He is just like his father.

He wants William, wants him dead, wants both William and himself dead.

He only starts caring again when, years later, Mike comes back home, no longer human, and with new information regarding his father.

It's then that Henry fully commits himself to revenge.

The rest is usually pretty similar to how game Henry functions but his obsession with William is both hatred and longing. He hopes they will burn in hell together.

Usually, in my aus, they somehow get back together: they cannot get rid of each other, but in the main thing, yeah, it ends up just like in the game. With a blaze.

In short, he is gay, sad and cannot handle human interaction. Also dependent on William to the point when he cannot function.

Frederick's Inner Child

In the mental health issue study, one of the famous theory of mental healing is "Hugging Your Inner Child" like this or this.

Which as wiki editor, I put that facts in Frederick's page :

One of the most unique personalization of Frederick is, he's the only character in the series that depicted with having an "inner child" persona. The first appearance of his inner child persona (wore the uniform of his academy) is at Episode 70 which appeared after he had meditation that Whitney that helps him to realizing what he wants. The second appearance is after the gala (wore the outfit of the tiniest prince), his inner child mimicking the pose that he held as he's crouching in guilt realizing that he's hurting Gwen at Jamie's Wake as Gwen overheard him calling her very ugly. In the first appearance, the words that his inner persona utters are "Failure" and "Loser". In the second appearance, the words are saying "Serpent" - "Monster" - "All Your Fault".

I personally feel very sad for Frederick's inner child especially at the second time of his appearance - no one tell him that what he thought is just negative thoughts and not exactly are all of these all of his fault. There's no Whitney that helping Frederick to meditate and realizing the truths. Gwen has inner negative thoughts too, but as far as the series goes and with my own interpretation - I see her case is the apparition of her image being shattered (like image below).

Frederick's case, although could be saying similar with Gwen as having shattered scene (which in his case is the collection of his model ships, and his books) - is different and that's means the solution is different too. Gwen's possible solution of being shattered won't be talked here - I find many nice theories like once she meet her mother in the dream she could be healing.. I want to talk about Frederick, that having inner child persona which I've seen in several media showing similar visualization be it the official (Kaneki Ken/Haise Sasaki from Tokyo Ghoul:[RE] is depicted to having conversation with multiple personas), or various fanarts like Jodie Starling from Detective Conan hugging her child persona that witnessing the horror when her father got murdered and the corpse is burned as her house in flames...

Based on their interaction so far, which actually just episode 70 because Frederick dealing with his inner child isn't shown up again.. What I get is that Frederick himself is shocked to realizing how 'idiotic', sassy and judgemental that his own inner child is. One thing that they're agree is thinking that Blaine's fan club is a pile of doo doo - which could be seen as the foreshadowing that the second appearance of the inner child is after the waffle-note being spread out by a member of Blaine's Fan Club at the gala...

Frederick is the only character in the CPC that depicted to having 'inner child', which appeared at two most important events of him - when he is realizing what he wants, and when he learning the truth that Gwen overhears his idiotic word.

I say to make conclusion of the 'self-love' that CPC moral want to say, we could also use the deuteragonist Frederick for it too - by making his inner child appear again in the future.

Murder Drones Afterlife/Devil Theory

(Spoilers for Murder Drones finale)

Now, I will admit that, as a theorist, I take everything at its face value and don't tend to look very deep. But, this theory is one that I personally feel like can be explained from a few face value ideas and be potentially true.

Starting off with the Devil theory, I believe the Solver is an incarnation of the Devil, or whatever great evil exists in the MD universe. One of the main things about the Solver is its weakness to the sun. Vampires, one of the clear inspirations for the Murder Drones, are also vulnerable to death by sunlight however vampires are known to disintegrate whereas the Solver Drones just seem to overheat like they explained. Vampires also avoid crucifixes, meaning they avoid God and God is the creator of the universe and that includes stars. Potentially making them one of the strongest energy emitters for God's energy. However, another clue to such a theory is the religious imagery involved around the Solver. The humans and their crucifix idea can be interpreted as them just believing it's tied to religion. However, one of the special things the Solver does is it turns inorganic objects into flesh, living flesh. And Hell is often depicted as being covered in flesh and blood and, in Doom Eternal at least, Hell's spread has to do with the spread of flesh and biomass. And it is completely capable of converting an entire planet to its will to become a giant and all-consuming monster. But, back to the Devil idea, one of the forms of the Solver has to do with the Eldritch J appearance, a large, centipede-like monstrosity. I noticed a correlation between that and a snake skeleton.

And, in the Bible, the Devil's first appearance to the human world is as a snake. Coincidence? Maybe. But, again, I take things from a face value. Regardless, if the Solver is a physical manifestation of the Devil, this could be its attempt to claim the mortal world by converting entire planets.

Now, the Afterlife theory. If the Devil theory is somewhat true and there are supernatural forces at control here, then spirits may be possible. In the end credits scene for the finale, we see many things that, from my perspective, must be occurring after the events of the finale as most of the obvious scenes are occurring during that time. And in one scene, we see a really strange-looking Drone with red eyes. And only two Drones have had red eyes, Doll and her mother.

It is also in complete black and is emitting strange jets of black goop, or smoke as one person pointed out. But, Doll and Yeva are both dead. Who else is dead? Tessa.

And in the cutscenes of N's backstory, we see Tessa as a black figure with wide eyes. This could be symbolism that anyone completely black with only their eyes glowing is, of course, dead. But, since the idea here is that it's all supernatural, perhaps this is how ghosts appear in this world. N's backstory scenes don't fully count as this is just how his memories displayed things but, with the appearance of the red-eyed Drone, this could mean that Doll is now a ghost that is left roaming Copper-9, unable to move on due to her death. And, if Doll is a ghost now, maybe Tessa could appear on Copper-9 as a ghost due to her body last being there in a spin-off series or secret Season 2? Overall, this is just my theory from face value evidence. Feel free to share your own ideas on this theory.

Hello :) Why do I have to ignore this question? To ask is legitimate, to answer is courtesy. And my answer is gonna be a bit long, hope you don't mind too much^^

I have been talking about this already in some old posts, but ofc I will add my pov here too. Again, it's my pov, I'm not saying what is right and what is not cause I don't think there's such a thing. I do believe readers are free to do and consider readings as they rather: ofc it's a use of energy and time, and therefore, as any other more "mental" job, can be paid as well. You can also consider tarot as a foreign language that readers interpret for you, and you can ofc pay for such a service. If you're okay with spending your money on readings of readers that do offer this chance and that you like/find accurate with yourself (at least for a 80-90% from free readings/pacs -this is the only thing I would recommend: before buying a paid reading, make sure the reader is good for you), again it's up to you. You shouldn't let anyone or anything hinder you. Money are yours, you know how to spend them best for you. So, if you need to get something that can help you at this moment, just go for it. Be it even something comforting as a novel (readers, do not come at me, I know you're not that ever, it's just an example).

But it's also true that, as anyone else on this planet and anyone enquiring readings, you can always make decisions about your life. We all as human beings have free will, and it can potentially interfere with our future. Therefore, yes, there is the possibility for you to change your future, and to change your mind too about what you want. To change your character and behaviour before you meet someone (and they can change too), and slightly change the course of events. You can even potentially find a different person (be it the same but changed from how they were described in the reading you had years before because of anything they had to go through or a totally another one -physically-wise- but with a similar energy in that moment).

So yes, readings may not be correct/accurate 100%: readers aren't God, we can make mistakes and not be accurate. We may also not be able to read anyone's energy properly, or not every time. As I also wrote in my disclaimer (link in the pinned post), readers work with present energies more likely, and it's hard to predict correctly every little thing that will happen in somebody's future. It's hard cause again of your free will and cause there may be other events coming in between. It's more likely that we may predict what/how you may feel in your future or event/s that are destined to be no matter what (if we can get news about them)... a general idea or a few signs/symbols that once you'll get there may help you realize "it's almost time/it may be them/..." at least. But to tell you exactly what your life is gonna be... I wanna be honest, it's not so reasonable or at least not all the times imo. Also cause we're not supposed to know everything... sometimes you need to learn things on the way, to know only bits here and there in precise moments of your life. I might be wrong, it may be me ofc, I'm not saying I own the Universal truth (quite the opposite).

Think about pacs: you can take the same pac about any type of topic in different times of your life. And you can be guided to read different piles: this means you are changing, and needing a precise message in a specific moment. In that moment, your enegy allineates more with the one described in a pile more than with another that maybe called you just 3 months before. Pacs are useful also to check where you are in your life (and if a reader is for you or not): if you keep getting the same pile even after 6 months, it may be that you're not moving from that energy (and it can be positive -as in if you need a confirmation- or "negative" -as in you still need to work on the same thing-); if you instead get a different pile, it can mean you moved on from your past energy to a new one: and it again could be positive for a different type of confirmation or negative (you may even be in a fallback moment of your life, and it's fine. You know how to deal with that). This to explain hopefully a bit better what I mean with "present energies".

Now, to explain you why I don't offer paid readings: -I don't always am in the right energy to do readings. I am healing something too, so my mood and my energy tend to fluctuate. To be able to put myself aside and read your energy properly so to try and be more accurate, I need to feel good. Being a clairs user, I do need lot of energy for each of you. and your energies, if aren't in a good place, can be very draining. and possibly may mess up with me, especially if I am not in a good place myself. Doing free personal readings helps me choose the moment in which I am feeling better, and I can afford even making a bunch of readings per day.

-I know you're prefectly able to decide where to spend your money but I prefer for you to spend them on things for yourself than on readings that potentially cannot be accurate as you'd want them to (talking about myself maybe not being your reader) or that you can change. Give yourself accolades, save for that bag you love, donate to charity (which I actually wanted to propose once but never did)... anything.

-My effort to connect with your energy and read for you is a physical/mental one. If you paid me with your money, you'd just click a button. It wouldn't make you feel tired physically or mentally as I am: so I cannot consider that a proper exchange of energies. I ofc know that you gain your money through your job and therefore through a similar effort, but you're not working to directly pay me. You're not getting tired to get a reading from me but to pay your food and home and much more. So, I rather open free personal readings in which you have to answer my questions/write something/think to get an answer. This way, you need to focus as I do when I read for you. I consider this as a more appropriate exchange.

-I personally consider readings as a guidance to see where I am, how I am doing, what I need to work on, what I need to know at this moment, what I need to change or if something is changing. disclaimer this is a Lot and like half of it ain’t coherent:

first and foremost, idunn is being taken shortly after the good ending of fe6 (think a few months after that last cutscene). this lands her in a spot that’s slightly more developed/healed than what we see at the end of the game, but a long ways off from ascended! idunn. that alt is pretty clearly meant to be a longshot future where she can smile and laugh just by seeing you on the homescreen. my idunn is... getting there. so i reference bits and pieces of what it shows us, depending on what i feel is appropriate.

speak of ascended! idunn! her appearance. or more specifically, her dragon form. it can be inferred from the fact that she was once a divine dragon that idunn used to bear more of a resemblance to fae in this form, and the special art of ascended! idunn supports this with its “chicken” wings and feathered tail-tip. however, it also has one scaled wing, and the base of her tail is black and more similar to the demon dragon form (plus her head is the same). thus it is my personal hc that after having her soul restored and her personality slowly grow inside her, idunn’s dragon form changes to reflect this--gradually reverting back to that of the divine style. right now it’s an amalgamation of a demon dragon head, tail-base, and lower/back-left wing, while the main body + limbs, other three wings, and tail-tip comprise her divine parts. 

she’s a character who has internalized both she/her and it/its pronouns, and will respond to either. generally, i’ll use it/its when referring to idunn’s past as the dark priestess and at times where she feels particularly alienated, and she/her otherwise. your muses are free to interpret and use these pronouns however they wish.

i hate the possessed villain trope, alright. i think robbing a character of guilt and remorse stunts their growth, and part of learning to accept herself must include dealing with the fact that idunn’s actions have permanent consequences. i do believe that people--especially innocent families harmed by idunn’s dragons across elibe--do not forgive her for all that she’s done, and to some extend she struggles with this too. idunn is fortunate enough to have really good support systems in fae and the other arcadians, but it will take some time before she isn’t fearful of her own self.

i also write her as holding onto the belief that she is going to lead the world and bring it peace. it never goes away after she becomes herself again, much like her desire to do something that would make the zephiel who rescued her happy.

her presence is a large one and can easily be detected by the magically adept/other dragons who have the ability to do so.

i welcome any and all legendary weapon headcanons! idunn sort of sees the events of fe6 through the lens of a really horrible dream, and so she regards those who fought her in the final map in the same way as the eight legends of elibe. the baseline instinct for this is fear, of course, for their power and that of the weapons, but she tries to see the good qualities of the eight and apply them to their successors in any way she can. if you want your muse to have used one of the weapons against her, just let me know and maybe look it over with any current roy muns.

she still has the power to summon war dragons, but doing so makes her lose control of her soul, so she tries to avoid it if possible. there may, potentially be a dire scenario in which she must in order to protect someone she cares about, but she’d need to be in the presence of someone she knows could bring her back if she chooses to do so. 

in terms of toa-specific headcanons, i think that in line with forgetting much of her previous personality and the concept of like, everything, idunn is only just learning to read. it’s been thousands of years since she was herself so even if she could have read at some point, the language she knows is considered ancient. she’s gotten a good start in arcadia, but is hoping to learn more at the academy!

she loves music! not surprising considering her admiration for nature and simpler things, but i like the idea that dragons are particularly enthralled by it. the flute is her instrument of choice, and if she picks up lessons at the academy it’d be for that.

and finally, though i don’t foresee myself really ever getting into shipping with idunn, she currently has no understanding of romantic love and just barely one of familial/platonic love. if she ever does catch feelings for someone, it’d be after a long healing process learning how to catch feelings.

Method #1/?

Gather supplies. I keep a journal-sized, unlined sketchbook and I find it the most suitable. On the right-hand page I perform my automatism, leaving the left open for ‘translation’ or interpretation. Loose paper, canvas, a wall, it doesn’t matter, just so long as you have space to write, draw, etc. However, being that these items might be taken to different locations, portability is key. You will also need something to mark with: ink, paint, chalk, graphite, whatever, though I recommend something fast drying and/or not prone to smudging. Ball point of felt tip pens are my personal favorites, color being applied later if desired.

Find a suitable location. Ideally such practices should be performed in liminal spaces, or those which feel ‘full’ or ‘thin,’ depending on how one prefers to describe them. I enjoy a measure of isolation, though such is not necessary and performing automatism is rather inconspicuous, thus could just as easily be done in a crowded train station as on a remote mountain top. Consider the mood of a place and be knowledgeable of how it might affect results. I favor nature, places that are ‘thin,’ serene and isolated. Cosmic events and time of the day can also influence results; thus, I urge one to consider these as well. While the ‘work’ will be done on paper, the surroundings are just as important: ‘what can be heard?’ ‘what is happening around me?’ ‘how does this make me feel?’ are all things to be considered and jotted in the margins.

Begin. Commit to the working: be present and conscious of what it is you are undertaking. Push to the fray and allow spirit to take shape, letting your hand move freely to follow. It is at this point I encourage you to remember that the process is not imposition (nor “pure psychic automatism”), but negotiation. This is not automatic drawing in that the hand is wholly free and the ‘work’ devoid of conscious intervention, but a meeting of the conscious and subconscious. The spirit does not form on the page nor does it guide the hand, it takes shape in the mind. The hand is but a tool, recording what is seen and translating it to paper. It is inherently impressionistic, and, as aforementioned, divinity is a volatile essence. Record what is seen, let forms overlap as they change, let lines intersect and overlay. The goal is not to produce a portrait in one instant, but one spanning the entirety of separation of the Seen from the Unseen. ‘My’ spirits always settle into anthropomorphic shape, a reflection of my anthropocentric bias (‘I create god in mine own image’). It should not be assumed that the image recorded is a lasting one, as any who work with spirits know, shape and physiognomy are of little meaning without permeance. Over time, symbolic associations and identifiable feature will ‘harden,’ embodying a spiritual ‘signature’ by which the Named might be defined.

‘Translate.’ Record – in writing – what happened. Search the image for meaning and explore possibilities, incorporating elements from the setting (as mentioned above). The goal is not to define at length the spirit’s purpose, but to give a cursory attempt at decoding that which they provided. Again, with time and additional workings the form will become more concrete, will develop into an individual with preferences and taboos of their own. This step can occasionally involve research, i.e. some of the Unnamed have shown me constellations with which I was previously unfamiliar or shown me symbols – in the broad term, not necessarily logographic – which had other meanings than those I often ascribe. This step is one of exploration and consideration, something that should be returned to again and again. Note all possible hypotheses you can manage, as they may serve you well at a later point. While it sounds cruel, it is also at this stage that you may choose to continue on (to name the spirit) or forgo the process and let the essence return to the Unnamed. I confess that most times I choose the latter, focusing my studies foremost on how these pieces shape themselves and noting my own influence on the process.

Grounding. Before a Name is given, it is important to ground the spirit. This is a process I have written about before (see The Spirit Snare; The Spirit Vessel), by which you connect the spirit to a physical object. In this case, I recommend something small and portable that can be carried with you for some time. This will allow the spirit something to ‘hold onto’ while at once offering the same to the practitioner: it links the pair, allowing the spirit to contain itself while at once allowing practitioner to become familiar with the spirit as it ‘solidifies.’ While in the Spirit Snare I wrote of how to ‘snatch’ a spirit to serve a function, this process is different due to the nature of the Unnamed (at large). The ambient energy discussed in the former is stable (or at the very least more so) than that of the Unnamed, thus the latter requires time to not only form properly but be studied and explored thoroughly. Should you desire to expedite the process of its ‘solidification’ (while forgoing the bonding facilitated by proximity), grounding it to a piece of land, a tree, something with life and power of its own may do so, however I have never tried and cannot speak to the results.

Formal Naming. It is only at which point that the Unnamed is wholly grounded, is developed, that the formal naming process should be undergone. In the meantime, the practitioner may give the spirit an informal pet or nick name, while the formal name will be a concerted effort. Only once you are familiar with the spirit and it with itself, might you both consider a Name. Again, this process needs to be a joint one. While usually a name comes quickly, occasionally some back-and-forth is required. It can take weeks, even longer, to finally land on a name that seems ‘right’ to both spirit and practitioner. Do not rush the process, it will come organically or it will avoid coming at all. Once decided upon, take the curio with which the spirit was grounded and transfer it to a more formalized home, such as the aforementioned spirit vessel, a statue, something sturdy and lasting. It is at this period one might consider grounding the spirit to a plot of land, a tree, a stream, etc. from which it could derive power. This does not require the same proximity as the first curio, for with a formal Name the spirit can be called upon from any distance. While transferring the spirit, speak its Name. You might consider fashioning a seal to paint onto or carve into the object, or a sigil which is comprised of its name. If you belong to a group who practices naming ceremonies, I recommend performing something similar for the spirit.

Offerings. Finish the transfer and Naming process with offerings. Blood is life and it is power, thus an animal sacrifice is ideal. However, spirits vary, so offer what it is the spirit likes and/or associates itself with, while at once avoiding its taboos. Should the appropriate amount of time have been spent with the spirit before the naming, this should be simple, and if the spirit has become one of great importance to you, it is nice to splurge for some good stuff. Offerings should be made regularly (it might be good to mark the naming day and give special offerings annually), especially if connected to something inanimate.

Maintain the relationship. As you are likely the sole ‘devotee’ or friend of this spirit, you alone will be responsible for its growth and maintenance, lest it be lost once more to the Unnamed. Work together often and make offerings regularly. Once established, the Named spirit might be called to serve the practitioner with all things falling in (and adjacent) to its dominion.

‘Naming’ the Unnamed

Some months ago I discussed the Unnamed, describing them/it as “the limitless, amorphous divinity yet at the edge of consciousness and memory. Not the forgotten gods, but those who are ‘unborn,’ whose names have yet been spoken” (Micromanifesto #1). Expanding on this notion, the Unnamed is that or those which reside at the furthest reaches of knowing. To speak in metaphor, one might conceive of a circle (or perhaps a cone, should one desire to situate the expansion of knowledge across time). This circle, then, is representative of the Known, cordoning itself against the vast Unknown just beyond its tentative curves. Should one press to the edges of the known, they will find these same liminal boughs through which divinity—through which the Unknown—permeates: this is the site of creation, the realm of epiphany where art, where magic, where invention takes shape, mingling with the fluid contents of knowledge. This corpus of knowledge lends shape to the amorphous unknown, it speaks in form, in symbol, in personality and association. In this way, that which is created is reflective: the mind molds, even if the modes are unconscious. To create is to do so through a lens, beauty is beholden to culture, thought to experience. By understanding this, one is apt to be more reflexive, but even still cannot shed bias in its entirety and when drawing from the Unnamed it is important to keep this is mind.

In “creating” (I prefer the term “identifying”) spirits, one inextricably leaves one’s impression, but the goal is to mediate influence: the Unnamed is a living (if not in the conventional sense) medium, comprised of forms which possess their own character. In identifying these forms, one should never seek to impose, but to negotiate. We are apes with limited perceptive capabilities (additionally, in the West, we place the visual above all else), and as such limit the Unnamed’s expression. This is unavoidable, a bias inescapable, and so it is fine in that it must be. Generally, however, one should always strive to allow spirit to shape itself freely, especially when working with something so volatile as divinity. In short, one should not sculpt nor subject divinity, the Unnamed, only create the stage on which it might perform itself. And all with the knowledge that what one “sees,” “hears,” “smells,” etc. on that stage is communicative and limited: the layered realities of the divine cannot be wholly expressed through human sense alone, and thus what is perceived is only part (or perhaps “a shadow” should definition be left to Plato) of a greater, predominately incomprehensible whole.

With this in mind, a reader may wonder if the following process – taking undefined divinity then defining it – is some exercise in creating a god. The answer being a resolute ‘no.’ If gods derive power from the ascriptions and adorations (alternately detestations) of humanity, then the possession of one tentative “devotee” does not a god make. Instead what is named is something else entirely. Something not lacking potential but dispossessed of the great power typically expressed by the divine. It must be situated, it must draw its power from something else: a force of nature, a plot of land, an emotion, etc., it must be given a name and it must be paid, otherwise it will slip back through the liminal curves separating the Known from the Unknown, disembodied and nebulous. After being named, after being known, situated and paid in offerings, it might retain its form and provisional ‘existence.’ Should this thing, even possessing of name, be long neglected it will meet the same fate of dissolution, at which point to call on it would manifest only the shadow of ‘a shadow.’

With that being said, I turn now to the process by which such a feat might be accomplished. As per usual, I must insist that this is only one of many ways to ‘skin a cat,’ if you would, and even I do not use this method exclusively. However, I do find this to be the easiest, even for those lacking an artistic disposition. While drawing is part of the process, it is only to occupy the hands and free the mind, utilizing something akin to practice of Surrealist automatism. I include only one method with this introduction, but may include others in the future, thus I leave the final number open-ended.

The 3rd Candy Hearts Challenge

A fun, stress-free Wolfstar mini-fest!

(If you remember how this goes , feel free to skip my introductory spiel and check for new rules!)

They’re sold by many companies and known by many names: Candy Hearts, Conversation Hearts, Sweethearts, and Love Hearts. Whatever the brand and whatever you call them, they’re the signature sweet of the season. Sure, you could buy your beloved a box of chocolates, but that’s an option any time of year! Good luck finding these bad boys in November!

Not that candy hearts are bad! Sure, they’re kinda chalky… and they taste stale no matter how fresh you bought them… but it’s not about the taste with candy hearts, it’s about the pastel, the experience, and above all else: the sayings! Who doesn’t remember going through a pack with friends, trying to find the kookiest message? Digging through a box to find one that was just the right level of romantic to give a certain special someone? (And maybe the heartbreak when you received one in turn where the message was just a big, pink smudge?)

Now, candy hearts have been around for a long time. And with a constant rotation of messages so we always got fun variety in a box, they’ve had a lot of sayings.

Through a great deal of internet sleuthing (and a little creativity on my part), I’ve collected over five hundred of them.

Some are a little raunchy (TEASE ME), and some are outright rude (EW NO). They range from classic (BE MINE) to contemporary (SWIPE RIGHT) to were-at-one-point-contemporary (FAX ME). Some of them are, quite frankly so hyper specific it’s a wonder they made it into circulation at all (ME JULIE BEST MUM).

And they are all, even the weird ones, ripe with potential as fic prompts!

The way this mini-fest works is simple:

If you don't want to send an ask from your main tumblr account (or don't have a tumblr account), you can do so anonymously. However, you must include the ao3 handle or tumblr sideblog from which you plan to complete the challenge.

I will shake my Great Big Box of Candy Hearts and pull out a unique candy heart for you and only you!

With your message in hand, create whatever that candy heart inspires and your own heart desires! Fanfic, art, graphics, playlists, head canons, shit posts, interpretive dances, cosplay, meta essays, it’s all great as long as its central focus is on Wolfstar, the relationship between Remus Lupin and Sirius Black!

You can either directly quote your candy heart message in your work or use it as a broader inspiration.

You are allowed to use the same candy heart as inspiration for multiple unrelated works and submit all of them to the fest.

You do not need a beta before submitting your work, but I do encourage you to get one. I want this to be as stress-free an event as it can possibly be, and in my personal experience, it reduces stress to have someone else look over your completed work for at least spelling and grammar so you don’t have to reread your own stuff and psych yourself out before posting. If you don’t have any fandom friends with whom you feel comfortable sharing your fanfiction, there are also online resources to find a friendly stranger (including, hopefully, our discord server — see rule 17). But if ultimately, you’d rather be your own editor, I certainly won’t reject your work!

Include the following caption at the beginning of the tumblr post or AO3 beginning notes: For @goodboylupin's Candy Hearts Challenge. My candy heart prompt was ____.

If posting on tumblr, please make sure the @-tag of your caption is working so I get a notification! It should show up on its own automatically as you type. Also tag the work with #RSCandyHearts, preferably within the first five tags.

If posting on AO3, post your work to the collection and tag it with #RSCandyHearts (it will probably not be common enough to be a drop-down option, just type the whole thing out and hit enter).

If, after completing your first work, you want another helping of candy hearts, that’s more than welcome! Since I don’t want anyone to get a sugar crash, there is a two-day wait period between submitting a work and getting a second (or third or fourth or wherever you are) candy heart. You can send the ask earlier, but I will wait two days before answering it.

If you find you cannot come up with anything for your prompt, you can drop out and send a new ask to get a different candy heart. However, you need to give it an honest effort for at least one week before I give you a new one.

Works are expected by March 1, but this is a low-stakes, self-posting challenge! If you need more time, just message me or drop an ask. And if you want to drop out, that’s totally fine! I’ll even delete your first ask where you requested a candy heart if you prefer. I only need to know for the sake of my own record-keeping. Let’s all just be honest, considerate, and try to have a good time!

If you need a really long extension: Your candy heart is yours until January of next year, at which point, if I haven't heard back from you with an update or request for extension in the past few months, your prompt is going back in the Great Big Box of Candy Hearts so somebody else can have a go at it. The AO3 collection closes at the same time.

God okay so another thing that gets my gears turning is that one bit in Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges when Julian says he’s incapable of making a diagnosis by simply looking at a man, to which Sloan replies, “Oh, your genetically enhanced friends determined that Gul Damar killed a woman just by watching him give a political speech. I’m sure you can do better than that.” Which he then very much does.

Because like,, up to this point in the series, I was kind of writing off the discrepancy between the abilities the other Augments have (learning Dominionese in one day, reading Damar’s entire backstory from his nonverbals, etc) and what we see from Julian both before and after Doctor Bashir, I Presume as purely a result of the writing problems that inevitably occur when you throw in a revelation like that so late in a show.

Which, yeah, I still think it is that. But in-universe, it makes the question of how Julian has so thoroughly managed to hide any signs of his augmentation this whole time much more immediate. Obviously this is something that a lot of other people have already examined, and probably more eloquently than I can, but I just want to work through my own thoughts on the topic.

So, assuming that Julian has roughly the same intellectual capacities as the other Augments, there are a couple possibilities:

[1] Julian is a brilliant actor. Since the very beginning of the show, he has been subtly playing up his own spotty observational/deductive skills in certain areas specifically to maintain his cover. This, of course, has profound implications for interpreting almost any scene he is in pre-DBIP (and particularly for all of his relationships with people who only ever see this persona). I mean god!! Confronting how complete an enigma the real Julian Bashir is if you accept this interpretation makes me feel insane.

But it also says something about all of his scenes after DBIP: That he can’t let it go. Can’t drop the façade, either because it’s ingrained habit to pretend or because he still believes (rightly or wrongly) that displaying his full potential will eventually lead to Starfleet changing its mind about letting him go free. Like, this guy is 3x more traumatized than he appears at any given moment.

[2] Julian intentionally avoids knowing/paying attention to things.

Not when it comes to medicine, for the most part. Sacrificing the well-being of a patient to keep his own secret is absolutely antithetical to his core values, and I’m unwilling to entertain the idea that his fundamental motives are a falsehood. At the very least, if he did ever hold himself back out of fear and put someone else at risk by doing so, it would eat him alive for the rest of his life. So that’s a whole ‘nother level of trauma that the show never gets a chance to address.

But, anyway, he avoids thinking too hard about what he’s capable of— forces himself not to think through problems that it would be suspicious for him to solve; possibly even denies himself access to information that it would be alarming for him to memorize too quickly which, given his deep curiosity and hunger for knowledge, would be an almost painful act of self-denial. And, again, this behavior is so ingrained that he keeps doing it even after his secret is out. He doesn’t even think to try doing what the other Augments have clearly demonstrated they can do (at least, not outside the events of Statistical Probabilities, which may have actually reinforced his self-limitation given how all that turned out).

So, yeah, both of these options are just absolutely fucking tragic and make me want to cry but I cannot stop thinking about either one.
