When you realize Dante's arc is honestly pretty similar to Kieran's

#not 1 to 1 but #when thinking about Dante's inner dialogue #how he kept saying he has to be stronger he has to be better than Jude #his high expectations and his self worth are tied to his own strength and he is desperate to prove that he is strong #again like kieran #the major difference is that Dante kinda always been a bit arrogant - Jude coming along kinda #shattered his view of him being the best trainer of the group #it didn't help that Jude was fucking rude so #oh and high kalos society expecting perfection. Dante's family isn't rich rich but they are connected to these people so #there's that sub conscious layer there #and there's the fact that Dante has a good healthy support system - all of this is mostly on him #but i think this need to grow stronger+ this kinda obsessive desire to beat one person to prove themself #is very kieran to me #oc: Dante LaCroix #r rambles #in tags lol

While I headcanon Kieran as having a bit of a crush on the main character, I cannot see the Applin he trades you as a love confession done with the knowledge of the Galarian tradition because he strikes me as a bit too much of a country bumpkin to know about that.
