This is so out of nowhere but does anyone here remember the children book series ''Austrosaurs''??? I randomly found theses books again in an old box and they are literally just Star Trek but with dinosaurs, right? Like, there was this ship the USS Sauropod and the captain (I kinda had a crush on him when I was 8, don't @ me that stegosaurus was kinda hot), his collected and logical first officer, his communications officer and a chief engineer, and they go on adventures in space and solve problems. Also a literal neutral zone between the Herbivorous' space region and the Carnivorous'. Even their uniforms on the book cover art (well on the French edition anyway) look like starfleet uniforms.
I think I just found the missing link on how dinosaur-obsessed kid me became scifi-obsessed me, and also maybe why something about Star Trek immediately clicked for me when I first saw the 2009 movie lmao

a lot of "why are we hating on fernsong he's a good boy :(" energy pops up whenever people start getting more critical or petty about ivyfern but it's like. no i truly get it. he is her personalityless nothingburger heteronormative husband she was unceremoniously slapped together with for next gen kids, and the fandom LOVES him because of one scene that implies the bare minimum of decent fatherhood (not even shown on screen. doesnt come to fruition) that suddenly means their offscreen relationship is queering up gender norms or whatever and the best leap for feminism in the series. if i was an ivypool stan id be bitter about that too wtf

Liking Gray Wing not in the "he's wise and did nothing wrong" kinda way but in a "characters who sabotage their interpersonal relationships and defend heinous actions for the sake of someone who doesn't care if they live or die are really interesting" kinda way

Moon 208 - The Gathering (Part 3)
Previous | First | Next
After forever I finally sat down and finished it. Now I can finally execute my cool idea.
I decided that I'd make a poll so that you can decide which group of cats Goldenpaw talks to. The top two groups will be the ones Goldenpaw visits with the second group being the one she sits with once the gathering starts. The poll will stay up for a week.
Poll below:

I was skimming part of code of the clans today where the Leafpool narrator goes over proposed code rules that were struck down. I was curious why this StarClan rule wasn't implemented because it seems like something the zealot clan cats would go for. The guide does not rly answer my question lol
This is such a weird paragraph. It's like. In one breath Leafpool-narrator is saying they didn't make it a code rule because clan cats can think for themselves, but in the next breath implies that belief in StarClan is in fact necessary for living in the clan, because to live in a clan means you have to follow the warrior code, and belief in StarClan is what makes them follow the code (apparently). If you don't believe in StarClan, she seems to imply that must mean you are planning on leaving the clan? ("it's not a law to stay in the clan" + you can "choose a different path"?) There is not actually any room being made here for a clan cat to peacefully not believe in StarClan---at least not a good code abiding clan cat. And the alternative of leaving the clan obviously means you are no longer planning on following any of the code, so like...how is this meaningfully different from making it an official code rule?

You could play with the dirty part of the canon description by having Slash and his people roll in mud to hide their scent.
Parts of the Code labelling using weapons/traps as dishonorable could have started as agreements made that Slash's people wouldn't keep using their old tactics, maybe forced on Thunder's Clan to keep them from becoming too powerful, if they DID fuse.
I'm more liable to just remove the "dirty" thing entirely honestly; I just think it's so shitty I'd like to nuke it from orbit, you get me? Every single time they want you to hate someone, they make them fat and/or stinky. I'd rather just put that kind of rhetoric in the mouths of cats like Clear Sky and The Wind Runner, a lie to demonize their enemies, not really based on truth.
I think I might take the trap stuff though; that actually fits in nicely with how ThunderClan's the only one that uses spears. I won't have it be code yet, though, that's going to come a lot later. First two commandments of the code are Borders + Mercy, followed by Law 3 when Riverstar dies in some decades.
Also gonna need a name for Slash's new group. Hey, maybe THESE guys can be called Warriors, actually. Warriors of the Forest, like what the first arc used to be called before it was renamed TPB.

Is The Prophecies Begin truly better writing than some of the later series or am I just tempered by nostalgia? Looking back, they FEEL more enjoyable, but I'm not especially well versed on what would make them actually better than the later series.

Quick class doodle of my Lifegen cats that I decided to digitalise, just because I think it looks neat
I haven't talked about them here before but the protagonist is Stonestar (the brown one) who spent ~40 moons entirely on his own from kithood and lost 8 lives before Levi (the one with the neck bow and carrying the kit) found him. They immediately became mates, and now their entire "clan" consists of them and their adopted kits together.
Also Lifegen isn't the best at recognising that there's only 1 cat in the clan so Stonesoar (yes i spelled that right, it was his warrior name) often canonically hallucinated clanmates. Poor guy.

idek how to word it but I’ve always seen it as that Crowfeathers love interests, rather than actually liking him like they think they, they are just attached to what they think they can get from him.
I refuse to believe that Feathertail had any romantic interest in Crowfeather. I am NOT talking about her.
Leafpool was starting to feel lonely and unneeded in ThunderClan, and then boom, Crowfeather came along.
Nightcloud wanted a husband and children and she just latched onto the worst possible guy for that.
Even Tawnypelt, who feels disrespected by her entire clan and doesn’t feel attached to it anymore, didn’t start thinking about him like that at all, until he made it obvious that he respected her.
yeahhhh like this is what im saying!!
