He grinned even though she couldn't see him he still did it. "I was getting to the hello just needed to catch you off guard first." His laughter was easy going and flowed like a river. "A National Park, not just any old one. Lassen Volcanic National Park. The meadows were freckled with wildflowers and those lakes are so crystal clear. I mean, I know I wasn't there for the sights but it was refreshing to see a familiar sight to home. Water wise anyway." He sighed and shook his head. "Truly unexpected way to start Monday morning with hearing grab your boots we going hiking. My legs are killing me though."
Hearing Liz on the other side of the call made him smile. He knew he'd missed her but it didn't click just how much until he heard her voice and consequently her teasing banter. He rolled his eyes as he chuckled and sighed. "He wishes he was this cool. Actually, we do have a UFO department did you know that? Fun fact of the night. I may just request a transfer. Thank you for the reminder. Alien life expert." Wally couldn't help but laugh at his own lame joke.
Getting the picture of his pup made him smile as he chuckled and talked to Dolly knowing she could hear him. "There's my precious girl." he cooed and saved the picture. "Thank you again for keeping her company. She looks very happy and very well loved." That pause made him open his eyes and frown. "That bad huh?" He wasn't sure if it was the tone of her voice or that pause that gave it away to him but he picked up on something in her voice. "For what its worth im glad you got my furry best friend to at least get a smile out of you." His dog was good at that. "Timezones you say, huh it's the first I'm hearing about it."
"Oh that tells me you have not had a moment to sit. Manoa Falls? It has a pretty name. Tell me about it. What did you like the most? A guard dog? Has she already found her new calling? Is this your way of breaking it to me? I'm glad that she's been having a ball of a week so far. I hope that when people asked if she was yours you said yes." He wouldn't have minded it either. Dolly took to Liz so he knew the dog liked her.
Wally sighed and knew that cop bullies usually tended to set their sights on a new target, the ones that came after them first. "I'm sorry. If there's anything I can do let me know." Just by the sound of her voice he knew she didn't want to dwell on this so he switched the topic. "Messy for sure. It turned out that the sheriff for the county lost the paperwork so Sunday when I landed had me at the station waiting for seven hours to see one page of a report that someone actually had saved. The rest needed to be requested from the San Diego office. Not only that but they had three suspects that all had alibis but stories didn't align correctly. So, now we have to trace all three of their footsteps. First guy had us at the National Park. The other was the aquarium and the last one which is my least favorite will have us at a strip club talking to some of the employees there. All this because no one thought to pull fingerprints. One deputy touched a bloody cloth with his hands." Wally sighed. "Upside is that they're all cooperating."

"Why are you so sure that Wildfire will hate you? Do you not trust me? If I had a doubt that she'd hurt you I wouldn't even have you consider this. It'll be like when you met Dolly. Wildfire will fall in love with you. Its not hard to do you know?" he rolled his eyes and laughed. "You are always thinking worst case scenarios. A pony? We can put you on ponies but technically Wildfire is a baby. You're scared of a little baby." His laughter wasn't mean spirited just amused. "It is a ranch. Fine we are adding feeding goats to the list. They jump up just FYI."
His sleepy little laughter rung out and nodded against his pillow. "Mhmm. The big old circle isn't there anymore but that's because city didn't let them build it. Said it was too big. But still there." Her laughter made him hum in content as he had forgotten how melodic a sound it was. "It's actually a funny story. The guy you were looking is friends with suspect number two. They just didn't put two and two together until I saw the report."
Wally switched to video as he had missed seeing her face but could use the pretense of seeing Dolly. He smiled sleepily as his eyes were the only thing visible. "They said it was Marilyn Monroe's ghost but I know that's false. She haunts the Roosevelt and we're so far away from that hotel. I think it's a poltergeist, might be, I hear rustling more than I see any figures pop up. I'm not scared," a little lie. "I just don't fuck with them. What if you inadvertently piss them off because you step on their favorite spot on the floor? And then you have one hanging on you and you have no idea how to begin to apologize." Shaking his head his eyes sparkled with amusement as he moved slightly so his long bang would fall to the side inside of on top of his eye. "Do you believe in them?"
Tumblr media
" Well, hello to you too." Elizabeth chuckled as she plopped onto her bed before Dolly joined her. It was not like they bothered with greetings most times, but she couldn't help but poke. And it seemed like Dolly could either hear him, could tell by the way she spoke that it was him on the other line, whatever it was she nuzzled against her and looked up towards the phone. As she listened to him, she pet her head and gave her a look that said that she'd let her hear him in a moment once he was done talking. "Tell me where did they take you this time."
When he had left, she thought it would be a bit of freedom, no more him popping up randomly during her day. Or reaching out to bounce ideas off of during a case.
"Okay,Fox Mulder," she teased. "You're not in that department focus on your case."
On day one though, she realized how, lonely quiet, her days were without him. Charlie would check in from time to time as he usually did, but it wasn't the same. She would never admit it of course, but she liked the calls. She hated that he had seen through her lies and had Jamie deliver food when he dropped off Dolly, upset at herself, that he had seen through her stupid lie.
Tumblr media
"Great, she's right here actually looks like she's missing you. Here," She took the phone away from her ear for a moment to take a picture of Dolly on the couch and send it his way before returning to the call. "It's been," a pause as she thought it over. "a week."
He was tired, he was babbling about time. "Yea, you know in all my travels I learned about this crazy thing called time zones. Pretty crazy." Hand absentmindedly petting Dolly began to scratch her behind the ears, as she decided to stop being so mean if only for a moment. "What haven't we done? And yeah, I found a new trail, well new to me anyway, Manoa Falls. It's really pretty. Some people thought she was mine and she had the best time on the trail. And a couple of people that came into the office thought she was some new guard dog of sorts." Smiling she looked down at her companion of these last couple of days and nuzzled down against her.
"Oh, him," her mood soured slightly. "It looks like it'll all be settled out of court with everything I provided, but he found a new target to aim his ire at." Sighing, she leaned back into a reclining position with her pillows underneath her. "But tell me about your case. Was it as bad as you thought it was going to be?"
Oh, adventure week. She had forgotten about that. Part of her had hoped he had too. "Not this again. Wildfire will hate me. And there's a first for everything, watch she'd bite my hand." Was she making excuses? Of course. Were they partly true to her fear of anything that she couldn't talk to, convince to see her way or seduce? Damn right. "Why not a pony? Ponies are nice and small, right? Or a goat? You said this was a ranch right? I could feed a goat. Or chickens!"
"Randy's still around?" That drew a laugh from her, she had seen cities change, towns become cities, and other places become living cemeteries, the fact that some things didn't change amused her. Not as much as what he said about a fax and it pertaining to her case. A raised eyebrow, she began to settle into a lying position, finding tiredness sinking through her bones. "You said that they needed you with their case, how could they possibly help me on mine from an ocean away?"
Laying on her side, she cuddled up against Dolly and placed the phone between her and the pillow. She didn't want to think about work and cases anymore. "Tell me about the haunted hallway. Are we talking full poltergeist or spectral nuisance? You never struck me as someone being scared of a little ghost. "

The old farm truck rocked back and forth as you made your way up the all-too familiar dirt path, heading in the direction of the greenhouses. You’d already let the hens out to graze and feed and the last thing you had to do before dropping today’s produce off was check on the nurseries.
Johnny Cash’s southern twang hummed gently over the speakers, your well worn-in cassette tape having been the first thing you reached for this morning. The sun had risen just a few hours ago, and after a few cups of much needed coffee you were ready to go.
The caffeine had done the lord's work, having cleared your brain of any anxious background noise. You could actually function when you had tasks at hand. The second you slowed down though… well, that was a different story. You were trying hard not to imagine Abby sitting beside you in the beat-to-hell red pickup, her blonde braid tossed over her shoulder as she stuck her arm out of the window. You used to joke about her being part dog, what with her loving the wind on her face so much. You missed being able to reach out and wrap a stray strand of blonde hair around your finger, only giving it a soft tug when those blue eyes of hers looked at you with a little too much heat behind them.
So instead of looking at the empty passenger seat you busied yourself with turning up the volume, country music crackling over the shot, old speakers. You all but jumped out of the car the second you put the car in park, ready to get your hands dirty and your mind preoccupied.
You couldn’t remember how many times the two of you had snuck off to the greenhouse when your mother had gotten a little too overbearing back when she still lived in the main house with you. There wasn’t a single surface in the old rickety building that abby hadn’t fucked you on or vice versa.
You walked along the rows and rows of seedlings, looking for any sign of water rot or bug infestations. Everything was perfect, every stem and leaf a vibrant green. Tomatoes, all different kinds of summer squash, and beans of every variety; you had the gift of a green thumb. Your father was more than happy to sign his company over to you right before he passed. All five acres of his property belonged to you now, and with that every bit of responsibility had been placed upon your shoulders. You used to resent the fact that you were so young and in charge of so much. Now you were thankful for the constant work. Distractions. You hated seeing your dad’s life work being summed up as a mere distraction, but it was the only thing that got you out of bed in the morning.
Everyone in the family knew that your dad had wanted a boy when your mother’s pregnancy was first announced. It was a family business, the job having been passed down to him by his own father. Still, he had been ecstatic to show you the ropes. Rather than taking up dance or art like most other little girls your age, you spent your free time elbow deep in mud. You wore the bows and fussed over getting new outfits, but overalls were your daily uniform.
You wore a pair even today, your work boots tightly fastened to ward away any unwanted pecks from overprotective mother hens. Today was bound to be monotonous, as it always was. All you had to do was repot a few strawberry plants. Maybe if you were lucky a goat would find a hole in the gate and escape. At least it would give you something to worry about that wasn’t Abby related.
You slunk over towards the sinks, pumping soap into your dirt covered palm to wash off the dirt. You rubbed your hands together to begin lathering but froze when you realized your right hand felt bare. You brushed your thumb against your middle finger only to realize that it was just as you had feared.
Your ring. It wasn’t there.
White hot dread locked your limbs as you turned your hand over, the dainty opal missing from your middle finger. You blinked, hoping that you were just seeing things. You didn’t even turn off the sinks before racing back over to the repotting table, as if the promise ring had grown legs and would escape you. Your eyes frantically searched the table, pain shooting through your knees as you dropped down on all fours, pushing dirt and leaves aside to get a better vantage point. Nothing. It wasn’t there.
“Oh god. No! No, no, no.” You all but screamed, eyes filling with tears as you pulled yourself off.
You broke out into a nervous sweat, the blood rushing from your head. This wasn’t happening. This couldn’t be happening right now.
You didn’t care if you killed the plants, you ripped the strawberries up by their stems, shaking their roots out as you searched their new pots.
Every. Single. One.
Empty.
Abby had given you that ring just before her last deployment, promising that she would be giving you the real thing once she got back. Of course, she never did. It was single handedly the most important piece of jewelry that you had ever owned, even above your grandmother’s pearls and engagement ring. How could you be so reckless? Why hadn’t you thought to leave it in the car?
“Stupid! I’m so fucking stupid!” You screamed, tossing a clay pot on the ground in a fit of anger. It shattered behind you, exploding into a thousand tiny pieces.
You spent an hour sifting through dirt and untangling roots before you finally realized that it was a lost cause. The ring was gone. You’d wrecked the entire greenhouse in your frantic search and the strawberries were just as you expected: dead.
You slammed the door shut behind you, the old window panes shaking with the force. You had barely thrown yourself into the pickup before your body was wracked with full body sobs. White knuckling the steering wheel you leaned your head forward, completely unbothered as the horn blared.
How could you lose something so precious to you? It had been the last gift that you had ever received from Abby. The last. There was no possible way to replace something that was that special to you. Her hands had touched that ring. She’d been nervous to give it to you in the first place, anxious that two years hadn’t been enough time to give you something that sentimental. It was the meaning behind it that had you clutching at your chest, your fingernails digging into your shirt as if you could rip your heart straight out from between your ribs.
She was going to replace that ring once she got back. Give you the “real deal” once she was back home and able to have a ceremony.
But there would never be a ceremony. Never another ring. Never another Abby.
Never. Never. Never.
It felt like you were losing a piece of her, and with that came the revelation- the same one that you’ve already had a thousand times- that she was really gone. There would be no do-overs; no alternate universes where the two of you could be together. The reality of your situation sat heavy in your throat, clogging your airway.
The loss of Abby had eclipsed your heart completely, and darkness was all that was left.
You stayed in the car until your eyes had practically swelled shut and there were no more tears to shed.
Tumblr media
The car ride back to her childhood home was completely silent, the only sound being the engine of Joel’s shiny new truck. She did her best to compliment him on the new purchase, but Ellie was sure that she didn’t sound even half as enthusiastic as she had hoped she would. She didn’t feel like being an actress today. Not when he already knew how bad she was doing. Joel had taken one look at her as she got off of the plane and frowned, grabbing her bags only after giving her a bone shattering side hug.
“Well I missed ya,” He finally spoke, causing her to jump in surprise. The sound of his baritone voice soothed her nerves over though. “I’ve really missed you annoyin’ the hell outta me at all hours of the day.”
Ellie cracked a small smile at that, leaning her head into the plush leather seat. The last time she saw Joel was when she had first been transferred to the Kindred Hospital back in Chicago, which was where she had rotted away for a full week. Her eye and face healed up quickly but her back was a different story. She’d been burned badly and had all of the nasty scars to prove it. He had stayed by her bedside for the entire week and had helped her to readjust to being back home in her apartment. The nearly debilitating pain was the only thing that had distracted her from the gravity of her situation back then.
Her therapist said it was normal to disassociate for long periods of time when the body and mind are put under so much stress. Ellie still felt like Ellie back then, but it was only because she didn’t have any real grasp on reality. It was just a few days after Joel left that she finally snapped out of it. She was one of the only five that survived. She was told that landmines were the cause of so many deaths in Iraq.
“It happens all the time out there. You didn’t know. It’s not your fault.”
She didn’t want her unit to just be another statistic. They weren’t just numbers. They were people who had loved ones at home. Loved ones that they had to leave for months and months on end. She couldn’t help but shoulder all of the blame. Ellie was the one that had led them out there in the first place. It was her fault, so why hadn’t she died right along with them? She would have considered herself lucky if she had lost her life right along with them. These were the people that she saw daily. Ellie had developed deep friendships with every member of her unit. She knew the details of all of their lives- the names of their children and loved ones back at home, what they wanted to do with their lives once they were dismissed- how could she not feel like someone had ripped her soul to shreds? How could she not constantly remind herself, every second of every goddamn day, that she was the reason.
She was a ghost. A mere shell of the person that she once was and she had no one to blame but herself.
“I didn’t know you liked me being annoying so much,” Still, she turned to Joel and cracked him a small smile. It was more for his sake and less for hers though. “I’ll make sure to turn it up a notch while I’m here.”
The older man grumbled, shaking his head slightly as he kept his eyes on the country roads in front of him. “That sounds like a threat.”
Ellie could tell that he was playing with her. They were professionals when it came to teasing each other, often to the point that people thought that they were seriously bickering. The short haired female let herself settle into the normalcy of the moment. He hadn’t mentioned anything about the accident or her mental state yet, so it was easy to pretend that things were still…okay.
So that’s exactly what she did. She began to pretend. Ellie allowed herself to be transported back in time. This was just another Tuesday. She’d get back home and sweet talk Joel into cooking her an after school snack. Then she’d go up to her room and procrastinate doing her homework so that she could reread one of her comics.
“Got anything good in here?” Ellie asked before opening up the center console. “I’m not gonna find anything nasty, am I?”
Joel’s lips pursed as he tried to fight off a smile. “Don’t go rifflin’ through my shit, kiddo.”
Her eyes snagged on a familiar purple book, and for the first time in a while something yawned to life in her chest. Joy.
“What do we have here?” She pulled out the book of puns, using it to fan herself before she cracked the bad boy open.
“Ah, don’t start.” He groaned.
She didn’t take the time to wonder why he had put the well loved book in his brand new truck. Instead of allowing herself to be overcome with endearment she flipped to a random page, her lips turning up in the first genuine smile she’d had in months.
“Where can you find a tiny coke?” She asked him, turning in her seat so that she could face him, tucking one of her converse-clad feet underneath her.
“Hey! Get your dirty shoes off of my new upholstery!” Joel reached over and gave her knee a slap.
Ellie reared back, holding the book of puns tight to her chest.
“Come on, try and guess.”
He groaned, rolling his eyes as he leaned his arm against the door.
“I don’t know… tiny town.”
Her nose wrinkled, an eyebrow quirking up at his half assed answer.
“Shitty guess, but alright.” She mumbled under her breath. “Mini-soda.”
“Hilarious.” He said sarcastically, turning onto the familiar drive.
“I think I saw you smile though.”She leaned over to give his cheek a poke, but he swiftly batted her hand away.
The truck’s all-terrain tires crunched over the gravel driveway, revealing the only real home she’d ever lived in. The house and yard looked exactly the same as it had whenever she was a teenager. She sighed out a breath of relief, not knowing how much well she would have handled any sort of severe change. Ellie opened the passenger side door before Joel had a chance to put the car in park, eager to settle in after the flight. She wanted to shower, and that surprised her a bit. A welcome surprise.
Maybe things would be better for her here.
“You didn’t turn my old room into some perverted sex dungeon while I was gone, did you?” She teased as she grabbed her tan duffel bag, easily tossing it over her shoulder as she bounded up the stairs.
He laughed as a response, following close behind her so that he could unlock the front door. She didn’t know why he even bothered. He lived in the middle of nowhere, and they rarely got visitors.
“I’ve got some guitars in there that are worth a fortune.” He’d told her the last time she’d asked.
It had been one of the few times that Ellie had snuck out of the house after curfew. She’d been unable to haul herself back into her second story window once she’d gotten back home and had been forced to sleep in the beat up old hatchback that he had bought her for her sixteenth birthday. Breakfast that morning had been… tense, to say the least.
“I didn’t touch your room… but I did get a dog, so make sure not to let her out.”
She paused at that, turning to look at him with wide eyes. There had been a strict “no animals” rule back when she lived with him. She never thought she’d see the day where Joel Miller would adopt a pet, let alone a dog.
“You got a dog?” She was still in disbelief and half expected him to fucking with her.
“Buckley is a good boy. He shits on the floor sometimes and barks all hours of morning though. It’s almost like having you home.” He teased, bumping his shoulder against hers so that he could shove his key into the lock.
The deadbolt clicked open, and low and behold there was a dog. He looked like some sort of lab mix, his pink tongue hanging out of the side of his mouth as he anxiously waited for his owner’s return. Ellie was too excited to come up with a witty response to Joel’s joke. She tossed her duffle down on the couch, quickly getting down on her knees so that she could pet the dog.
“He’s not much of a guard dog, is he?” He asked, closing the door behind him.
The second that Ellie’s hand tangled into his thick black fur he flopped down, eager for love. Ellie smirked, looking at Joel over her shoulder.
“I don’t know. He looks pretty ferocious to me.”
The sudden knock on the door had Ellie’s lips downturning, eyebrows pinching in confusion. She didn’t like the idea of company right now, and the last thing she wanted was to socialize with anyone. For a second she feared that he had called a doctor or therapist to come out to the house to see her. She wasn’t sure if she could take another “come to Jesus” meeting this week, and she was barely holding it together as is. Ellie put her hands on her knees, pushing herself up to stand before she nodded at the door.
“Company?” She simply asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
Joel ignored her obvious distaste, wrenching the door open quickly before she could stop him. It sure as hell wasn’t Tommy. . . and Ellie doubted that most doctors wore overalls, even in Jackson. The sun was beginning to set on the horizon, the golden rays shone through the vast expanse of trees on the property, making it almost look like the world was on fire. The warm glow behind the beautiful stranger made her look ethereal almost, her eyes watery and cheeks flushed. At her feet was a cardboard box packed to the brim with fruits and vegetables. All at once Ellie became startlingly aware of the fact that she looked like absolute hammered shit. Her hair was a frizzy mess, her skin was paler than it had ever been before, and she was wearing an old NASA shirt and dingy sweatpants. If she noticed her disheveled appearance she didn’t show it.
The smile that she beamed in Joel’s direction didn’t quite reach her eyes, and a strange sense of understanding flickered in Ellie’s gaze as she took a few inquisitive steps forward. Ellie Williams knew what suffering was like; true suffering. Looking at her was like looking in a mirror, her well hidden misery plain as day to the auburn haired female.
“Sorry I’m so late, Mr Miller. My truck was giving me problems.” Her voice was beautiful. Melodic in a way that Ellie’s wasn’t.
Spring. . . this girl was spring incarnate.
And she was lying through her teeth.
She’d been crying. Ellie could tell. Still, Joel was already peeking his head out of the door, looking in the direction of where she had parked.
“I could take a look at it for you.” He was being dismissed with a small wave of your hand before he could even get the words fully out.
“That’s so nice of you, but I’ve got it cranking up again. It shouldn’t give me any more trouble today.” Her hair fell off of her shoulder as she leaned down to pick up the box.
Ellie moved forward without thinking, picking up the heavy box for the girl before her fingers could even grip the sides of the cardboard. “Here, let me get it.” She said, craning her neck up so that she could speak directly to the woman.
There wasn’t a single thing about you that Ellie found undesirable. In that moment she was completely certain that you were the most beautiful woman she had ever seen, even with the pain and memory that swirled behind your bright eyes. Their eyes locked, and much to Ellie’s embarrassment, she held her gaze. She watched her with the same sort of silent appreciation.
“-I think it would be good for her. What do you say?” Ellie hadn’t noticed that Joel had been talking the entire time.
The woman blinked a few times, tearing her eyes away from Ellie. “Huh? I’m sorry, do you mind repeating that?” She was nervously tucking a few strands of unruly hair behind her ear, shifting in place on the front porch.
“I was just saying that Ellie is going to be staying out here with me. I think working with you on the farm would be good for her. It would help her to get out of the house, and I know you’ve been pretty busy since it’s just you running things now.” Joel put a hand on Ellie’s shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. Supportive. Non-judgemental. He was reminding her what would be good for her mental state right now, and having something to do with her hands would certainly help to take her mind off of things.
“O-Oh!” The girl’s lips parted in shock, her eyes flickering between the two of them. “Yeah, I don’t see why not. I get a pretty early start though, so don’t feel obligated to wake up as early as I do.”
“I’ll wake up.” Ellie said quickly, nodding her head.
Her words held a tone of desperation and it had Joel’s head whipping around in her direction. He probably wasn’t expecting her to be so supportive of his last minute idea. She couldn’t be sure if it was because she genuinely wanted to get her mind off of things or if the farm girl’s looks had anything to do with her enthusiasm. Ellie couldn’t remember the last time she’d felt drawn to someone like this. Relationships were the last thing on her mind these days.
“Can you start tomorrow?” The other girl asked, shoving her hands into her front pockets.
Adorable. She was adorable. Ellie felt her breath hitch and all she could do was nod as an answer for your question.
“Alright. . . “She began to trail off, backing up a few steps on the porch. It seemed like you were in a bit of a hurry. “I’ll see you tomorrow then.”
“Tomorrow.” Ellie repeated back to her.
She leaned back, lifting the box higher up on her chest so that she could watch the woman get back into her mud stained pickup truck. She only took a step back when Joel started to close the door on her.
“So you’re actually fine with that? I didn’t think you would go for it, honestly.” Joel rubbed at his stubbled chin, flashing her a small smile of approval.
“There’s no way I want to be stuck in a house with your ass all hours of the day.” Ellie quipped, walking to the kitchen so that she could place the vegetables on the countertop.
“I think workin’ there would be good for the both of you. That poor girl has had an awful year. . . I think you’d be good for each other. She needs a friend.” Joel’s voice was somber as he followed her into the kitchen.
Ellie turned to face the older man, swallowing hard as he leaned against the doorway. He was being a bit cryptic. It seemed like he didn’t want to be the one to tell Ellie the girl’s business. Still, she was curious, and she didn’t want to be blind sided tomorrow just in case she wanted to talk about it. Ellie wasn’t usually nosey, but she had a strong urge to get to know her.
“What do you mean by that?” Ellie’s first guess was that she had to be going through some sort of divorce. Joel had mentioned the fact that she was on her own now, so coming to that conclusion was natural.
“No, nothin’ like that,” He cleared his throat before pushing off of the door frame, slowly beginning to unload the box's contents. “She lost her girlfriend and her father this year. She’s the kindest girl. . . you’d never know how much she’s sufferin’ based on how she acts.”
“Oh.” Ellie frowned, having realized that your mourning must be the reason for your sad, sad eyes. She understood how it felt to lose so many people so close together. Better than anyone, really.

Thinking about the first couple of days after moving in, Logan is trying really hard to ignore the man dancing around the tiny kitchen, but sometimes just... stares at him. This level of domesticity is just so confusing to him. How come they literally saved the timeline, and 3 days later, he was cooking eggs and cleaning like nothing happened?
Like a prayer isn't the only Madonna song Wade sings. Wade is currently using a spatula as a mic as he twirls and dances around the kitchen in a frilly pink apron that says 'Kiss the Cook'.
And Logan is just... Appauled? He's so damn confused. Al notices that he's staring and smirks to herself.
"Didn't know breakfast came with a show, did you?"
"Does... Does he always do this??" He asks, almost shocked, but nothing Wade did would truly suprise him anymore (even though it's only been 3 days)
"Papa, don't preach, I'm in trouble! Papa, don't preach, I've been losing sleeepp!"
"Yyup. All the time."
Turning his head back to look at him, Logans brows never left their state of confusion, seeing Wade lean back on the counter with his hands and do a little kick, almost flinging their breakfast off the stove.
"But I made up my mind! Iiiimmmm keeping my baby!!"
It was almost like a trance. He just... couldn't look away. "... Is he high?"
"Dun- dun- I'm gonna keep my baby, yeah Ooh!"
"Nope. He's just like that." Al tells him and turns up the volume on the tv as Wade picks up Puppins and swings her around, holding her up like the lion king before kissing her head.
It was now that he caught on and almost instantly started performing, teasing, and keeping eye contact, making Logan blush, even more confused. Watching him lean over the counter, wiggle his tush and with the spactula again, sang to the dog.
"Daddy, Daddy, if you could only see just how good he's been treating me- "
"Wade!"
"Yes!?" This was excitment.
"The eggs!" He pointed, practically jumping off the couch as the pan was now on fire.
"Oh- Damn it! Always ruining my dances! Do you know how many hours I had to stay late on set to learn this choreography!?"
"What!?? Just get the fucking fire extinguisher before-"
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. FIRE. FIRE. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. And suddenly, the appartment was wet, the buildings sprinklers having went off, putting out the fire and soaking everyone in the room..
"God curse you, Wade! Every time!"
"Uhm i believe its god BLESS you-"

@mr-tony-stark liked for a starter (post here)! you get clint barton!
Tumblr media
Visitors aren't unwelcome at the Barton-Pizza Dog residence. In fact, he gets more than he has fingers to count. Typically, there are two reasons that people come to his apartment unannounced.
They were angry with him, or they needed a place to lie low.
A secret third option which was really just option one was they were angry and they were his exes. That last part was important information because he's got a list of exes that were his fault things ended and they were relatively on good terms. For the most part, save for Jessica.
Clint's not even aware the door is being pounded on until Lucky is jumping on his chest and pestering to get to the door. It was suppose to be a lazy day albeit being a Monday.
Ugh, Mondays.
No one should be popping by, not even Kate. The super secret fourth option for reasons why people came to the apartment, Kate Bishop, mini-him with less mistakes.
"That's quite enough, Luck." He utters, knowing that the dog is barking as he saunters to the doorway and much to his surprise. It's Tony Stark.
What could he be doing here? He's not Kate Bishop, he is not an ex. There doesn't seem to be an angry expression on his brow, and Tony has money enough to buy a private island to lay low on.
Before he is standing there dumbstruck for too long, he points a finger up to his face. "Sign, text me, or let me gets the aids in." No way is he trying to lip read after waking from a nap, it'd be like fifteen percent less accurate than he normally could lip read and that was only about thirty percent accuracy most of the time anyways.
Wait. Tony would totally blow up his phone before showing up unannounced-
"Oh! Right, so my phone got dropped off a building."
Clint's leaving the door wide open, turning away to go retrieve his hearing aids from the kitchen while he lets Tony deal with Lucky whose sniffing at his knee and checking out the hallway.
"What's up? No Avenger business, right? I told you I'm off duty."

Flufftober Day 1: Lost Pet Meet Cute
@flufftober
Angst, Fluff
Gen Narumi x gn!reader
Warnings: slight cussing
When you got the alert on your phone notifying you of a kaiju attack happening, your heart dropped when you realized it was taking place near your apartment. You had no way to get there from your work; it was way too far to walk and no public transportation was reckless enough to bring people anywhere near an active attack. Why were you so desperate to reach your residence anyway?
Your dog was at home.
You were overcome with anxiety as you tried to reach your neighbors by cell phone to ask them to evacuate with your best friend, but no one had answered you. Tears welled in your eyes as you waited for the kaiju to be neutralized so you could go back home and assess the damage. Checking every news website every 30 seconds for updates, you finally read that the JAKDF's First Division had taken down the threat and were allowing people back in the area to salvage anything they could before clean up began. You boarded a packed bus with others in your same position, all almost too nervous to see what was left in the aftermath. When the bus stopped at the drop off point, collective gasps were heard throughout. Your entire neighborhood had been destroyed. Buildings had just barely stopped smoking, if they were still standing, but most of it was pure rubble. Your apartment complex was completely gone; you weren't sure where it stood in the first place. You were so shocked at the sight that your seat mate had to nudge you out of your stupor before you both got left behind on the bus. You shakily stood and made your way outside; the odds of your dog surviving something like this were little to none. The wreckage mocked you as you began your futile search for any signs of life below the mangled concrete. You didn't even bother calling her name--you didn't want to disturb the dead. Up ahead, you heard a voice talking and you went to check out what was going on. You figured you'd do more good helping your fellow humans than grieving at the moment. As you got closer, you noticed the person was a member of the Defense Force! You hurried, eager to help with whatever they needed; it was only fair of you to try and return the favor after they saved countless lives less than an hour ago. You took note of the black, spiky hair the person was sporting and your breath hitched in your throat when you made the connection to who you were approaching.
"Um, excuse me? Captain Narumi?" you called out, causing him to jump.
"Ah! You scared the shit outta me," he replied, starting to turn around.
"I'm so sorry!" you responded, embarrassed at how you were making a total fool of yourself. "I was seeing if you needed help with anything. I live-well, used to live, here, and I--" You stopped. Narumi had faced you and you were taken aback by both his handsome face and the dog he was holding in his arms.
"Shredder?" you asked, your voice wavering. The dog jumped out of his arms and up into yours, licking your face. You triple checked the collar and tags to make sure you weren't dreaming, but indeed, you were holding your beloved pet. You snuggled into her fur, not caring that you were almost sobbing in front of one of Japan's strongest soldiers. You tore yourself from your reunion to thank the man who had saved your dog, and you were surprised for the umpteenth time that day when you saw Narumi discreetly wiping at his eyes. Was he... crying with you?
It's good to know that under their tough exteriors, these guys do have hearts.
"You named that Shredder?" he grumbled, pointing an accusatory finger at the happy go lucky Maltese in your arms.
You let out a laugh for the first time that day. "Isn't she just the most ferocious thing you've ever seen?"
"Lemme guess. I have to find another dog of yours named Cupcake that weighs 200 pounds," he teased with a small grin, making you laugh again. It was strange to be so happy in a place filled with all that destruction, but Narumi was really making you feel at ease.
"No, seriously, you don't have any more pets for me to save, right?"
"That's right. She's all I got," you told him. "Thank you. For everything you've done today. We all owe you and your team any sort of favor you could think of for saving us and many of our family members. Human and otherwise."
Narumi let out a humorless chuckle, gently petting Shredder on the head. "We're just doing our job."
You studied the way his two toned hair reflected the sun and highlighted his face in a way that could only be described as angelic. His sharp features were softened by the sweet look he had as he practically cooed at your dog and you liked being treated to this front row seat of the revered Gen Narumi acting so... normal. You didn't realize you were staring until his eyes met your own, you both looking away shyly as blushes crept onto your faces. He cleared his throat, his attention on the broken road beneath his feet.
"It's kinda dangerous over here so if your dog was the only thing you were looking for right now, you should probably head back and wait for next directions," he said, running a hand through his hair.
"Yeah, you're right," you agreed, nodding. He nodded back in the silence.
"Um, it was nice to meet you..." he trailed off.
"Y/n," you replied.
"I'm Gen."
"I know."
"Oh. Right," he chuckled awkwardly. "Okay, well, I'll see you around? Sometime?"
"I'd love that," you told him, and you bid each other goodbye. Before he got too far away, though, you were struck with a sudden thought.
"Wait! I don't have a house!" you yelled. Gen turned around, obviously confused by your announcement.
"I won't live here for awhile," you clarified, "so I don't know if you'll see me around this area by chance for a long time. I also, uh, don't have a kitchen, so... would you like to go to dinner with me? Tonight?"
His eyes widened ever so slightly. "Like a date?"
"Yes? Maybe? Only if that's okay with you?"
It seemed as if your sudden confidence left you high and dry and you nervously cuddled Shredder as you awaited Gen's answer.
"I know a great ramen place not too far from here that wasn't destroyed. They allow dogs, too," he finally responded, and your heart skipped a few beats from his kind demeanor and consideration for Shredder. After exchanging contact information, Gen had to get back to work, but he kept a close eye on you to make sure you made it safely to the designated safe zone for evacuees.
You may have lost all of your belongings, but that day, you gained something better:
Gen Narumi's heart.

Under The Full Moon
Tumblr media
Anon Request," Oh boy do i have a mikey request, so basically reader is being chased down by some people that are aafter them for being a werewolf (reader did nothing except be a werewolf) They are forced to go into hiding after mikey saves them and brings them down. Fast forward a couple months, mikey has a crush on reader at this point. They constantly argue with leo, and after a particularly bad argument they run off and hide, mikey finds them and confessions happen, they kiss and boom!"
~xXx~
The rain pelted down on Mikey’s shell; in any other circumstance, he’d revel in the feeling of the cold water against his pebbled skin, but not tonight. Not when he was in a heated rush to find you. The last image of you still projected freshly in his mind, eyes usually shinning so beautifully, filled with a searing rage and glistening with tears ready to spill. Poor Mikey couldn’t get a word out before you booked it out of the lair, Raphael immediately berating into Leonardo behind him. Mikey wasn’t sure what all had been hashed out between you and his eldest brother, but whatever it was, was certainly your final straw.
Mikey wanted nothing more then to join Raphael in getting on Leo’s case, but with you making a run to who knows where, all the youngest could do was shoot the turtle in blue the most displeased glare he’d ever received from the usually cheery turtle. It had definitely left a mark on Leonardo, the leader faltering on his words as Mikey made to quickly leave after you. Thankfully, Mikey knew Raph had his shell, the later quick to step in front of Leo to prevent him from stopping Mikey’s leave, continuing to give Leonardo an ear full.
Slipping on the wet roof of a building he’d jumped from, Mikey cursed as he came into hard contact with the dirty alley way floor. Thank goodness for his hard shell breaking the impact from being much worse, as Mikey to a moment to collect himself, something glimmering from the headlights of a passing car caught his eye. He felt his heart stop, seeing the beads to your favorite bracelet scattered on the pavement, clothes you’d been wearing that evening torn to shreds in a pile around him.
Was it really the next full moon already? Mikey felt himself become even more worried if that was possible, quickly scooping up the beads into one large hand and stuffing them into his pocket, eyes darting up to just make out the very round moon behind passing storm clouds.
The sudden sounds of loud barking alerted Mikey, something inside him telling him to follow the sounds. It didn’t take long to find where they were coming from, the brisk ninja turtle diving into an abandoned parking garage, narrowing in on the echoing sounds of stray dogs, and something more primal and low. With a gut wrench feeling about the later sound, he picked up his pace, coming into the lower basement floor to find a small of stray dogs barking ferociously at a large, huddled figure in the corner. Taking out his phone to turn on the flash light, the gleam of insanely large canine teeth and deathly glowing eyes shown back on him.
It was you, in full wolf form, no doubt still in pain from transformation and on high edge no thanks to the stray dogs who barked relentlessly against you.
“Hey! Scram!”, Mikey yelled, running off the stray dogs caught by complete surprise to the mutant turtle swinging nun-chucks in such a way to scare them off even further.
Once he was sure the dogs had fled the parking garage, tails tucked between their legs, only then did Mikey turn his attention to you.
“Hey angel cakes, it’s me, Mikey. I’m not gonna hurt ya, promise.”, he spoke calmly, hands lowered and in a crouched position to seem harmless.
It took a moment for you to recognize him, but once you had, light whimpers bubbled up from your throat, a hoarse call of his name echoing off the concrete walls.
“What are you doing here? I. . .I don’t want to hurt you.”, you lowly cried, backing yourself up further against the wall, but this time for Mikey’s safety and not your own.
“You could never hurt me.”, Mikey gently reassured, reaching out a hand but retracted when you pushed your self further away.
The action put a pit in his heart, but he knew not to push you. God, he would never even dream of doing something like that to you. As for you, a different type of pit found it’s way within you, one carved by anger and despair. Leonardo's words blaring in your mind that had sent you into the shadows you hid in now.
“You sure? Leonardo seems to think otherwise.”
Mikey frowned deeper, the bitterness in your tone seeping through his very scales. What exactly had his brother said to you? He knew that you both would get into arguments, but what occurred between you two for him to even imply such a thing? The turtle in orange had to take a deep breath, releasing slowly and unclenching his fists. You need him right now, and him getting pent up would not help either of you.
Mikey sat on the cold pavement across from you, his beautiful blue eyes filling with a softness only ever for you.
“Well, Leo’s got a yard long stick up his ass when it comes to being over protective of us.”
That made you chuckle lightly, the sound causing a fluttering in Mikey as he smiled successfully. Even if it was just a small laugh, it was still a step in the right direction.
“Come on, baby cakes. You know just as well as I do that you could never hurt any of us.”, Mikey spoke again with a smile this time.
You huffed, fur billowing in the light breath on your shoulder.
“I know, I just. . .what if I do? Even if on accident? I could never. . .”, you trailed off, eyes dulling as you peered down to the fade white line of the parking spot you sat in.
You were a monster, the world made sure that you would always know that. Memories of being chased and hunted down simply for existing. Always being shouted at vulgarly, treated as though a simple howl from you would tear the world in two.
“Then I would forgive you.”
Your head shut up, ears propping straight and golden eyes staring in disbelief at Michelangelo’s words. Yet, the soft smile he bore, baby blue eyes showing nothing but genuine honesty, reassured(?) you he meant it through and through. His unwavering kindness brought up newer, nicer memories over the ones that plagued your mind only minutes ago. Memories of when you first met the band of brothers, who had saved your life when you were moments away from giving up and letting the hunters win their game against you. You were in such a dark place, bearing sharp teeth even at your mutant saviors who no doubt had felt just as much as outsiders their whole life as you had. It was Mikey’s kindness, his bright sun lit friendliness that showed you a brighter side to life. Not once had that changed over the time you spent with him and his brothers, the two of you only growing closer and fonder of each other.
Hesitantly, you lifted a strong paw out towards the ninja turtle, the later warmly taking your furred hand into his scaly one, before gentle lips lowered to press against your bulky knuckles. It took all of your strength to not burst into tears in that moment, instead opting to pull Mikey, who’d otherwise would be like moving a boulder but was more like a feather with your strength, into a tight hug. The choked sob that threatened to spill past your maul had Mikey’s heart shattering, his arms wasting no time in coming up to wrap around your large form, deeply inhaling the forestry smell of your soft fur.
“Thank you, Mikey. Thank you.”, you softly cried out, snout digging into the space between his neck and shell.
Mikey rubs soothing circles into your back, turning enough to plant another small kiss to your head.
“No need, angelcakes. You know I’ll always be here for you.”
And he was right, you knew that, felt it, and you swore to yourself that you would be there for him always too.

Beach Day with the ADA :)
Tumblr media
Since Bungou Stray Dogs doesn't have a 'beach episode', I thought I'd make one myself with the reader. If y'all would like a separate one without the reader, let me know. :) Genre: fluff, comfort? Warnings: probably a few gramatical errors Pairings: platonic everyone, a little extra bit of dazai Words: 880 ish
⊹₊⋆☁︎⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆☁︎⋆₊ ⊹
It had been a rather tiresome week at the agency, so when Fukuzawa offered to let you all have a day off, you were ecstatic. It was Atsushi’s idea to do something together as a group, which prompted some interesting ideas. After Dazai suggested bar hopping, he received a harsh smack from Kunikida.
After looking at the forecast on your phone, you had an idea. “Why don’t we go to the beach? It’s not too far away. It’s close enough for a day trip." And with that, the decision had been made.
Kunikida opted to drive, with you in the passenger seat. He agreed to come along only if Dazai was in the other car (thankfully not driving) with Kyoka, Atsushi, and the Tanizaki siblings. He figured if this was going to be his day off, he should at least get some form of stress relief.
After a stop at the convenience store for snacks and sunscreen, everyone finally arrived at the beach. You got out of the car and helped everyone unload before heading out. The weather was phenomenal and the water was the perfect temperature. The waves were calm enough to relax in the ocean and the sand was incredibly soft.
It was around noon, and you had finally blown up your little ring float to bring into the water with you.
“Aww, can’t swim?” Dazai teased.
“Actually, I can swim just fine.” You playfully flicked him on the shoulder. “Just wanted to ride the waves a bit while they’re smooth.”
He paused. “Well, since you can swim…” He picked you up before you realized what he was doing and ran toward the water.
“No, no! Put me down!” you pleaded. He started to throw you in, but you clutched onto his arms. “You’re coming with me!” You both fell into the salty water. Laughter came from the rest of the gang, except for Kunikida who merely sighed a you two.
“Don’t think we won’t come for you next!”
You ran after Yosano, and Dazai caught Jun’ichiro. Not long after that, everyone had been submerged at least once, sparing Kunikida for their own safety. He had been sitting in a chair underneath one of the umbrellas trying to read a book. He looked over to find Ranpo eating snacks. “You know you have to save some of those for everyone else, right?”
He stopped chewing, “Hm?”
-
Atsushi and Kyoka were building a sandcastle together. They were fixing up the moat before filling it up with water.
“It looks great! Now we can collect some shells to decorate!” The boy offered.
“Can we use this?” She held up a big crab that was desperately trying to get away.
He made a face. “…Sure!”
The girl placed the crab on top. However, it jumped off and skittered away into the sand. “Well, there goes that.”
-
The Tanizaki siblings were playing volleyball. Naomi was winning by one point.
“Hey! Anyone wanna play with us?” She called out to everyone.
“Me!” Yosano jogged over to them along with Kenji.
-
You had been in your swim tube, floating with the waves while Dazai held onto it, keeping you from drifting too far. “This was a good idea. I have to admit, this is quite refreshing.”
“I know, right? I couldn’t think of a better way to spend our day off.” You squinted at his pink nose. “I think you need a little more sunscreen.”
He shrugged, “I’ll be fine.”
“Okay, but if you’re burnt to a crisp tomorrow, don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
He laughed at your remark before flipping you into the water. You popped you head up.
“What was that for?”
“If I leave you here to put on more sunscreen, you’ll float away! You must come with me.”
“You’re so dramatic.” You walked with him back to where the group had settled. Kunikida was still buried in his book. You had grabbed the last bag of chips from Ranpo.
“You havin’ fun?” Dazai asked his partner.
The blonde put a single finger towards him, “Don’t.”
“Oh, come on. I haven’t even done anything-”
“Yet.”
You chuckled at the two, “Why don’t we go play volleyball with the others?” Dazai nodded.
-
After hours of playing in the sun, you all had decided that it was time to go back. Everyone mentioned they were hungry, so you found yourselves at a restaurant nearby. It was a great way to end the day before heading back to the agency. You were satisfied with your food as you listened to everybody talk. The restaurant was cozy and warm, and you were getting tired. After leaning back against the back of the chair, you slowly nodded off.
You felt someone tap your shoulder. “Hey! It’s time to go!” Kenji whispered. “We’re leaving!”
“Hmm? Oh-” You quickly woke up and went with the crew back to the vehicles outside.
You couldn’t remember the ride back since you were out like a light. Thankfully, the loud ones were in the other car, allowing you to get some sleep. There may or may not be a photo floating around of your face squished against the window. Dazai sent it to you the next morning, along with the other pictures taken the day before.
"Which one of you took that?"
"Not telling!" It was him.

In which I give the longest explanation of my opinions on Eremika and why I don't like it.
If you see my other AoT post, I likely give the impression of being a hardcore eremika anti; and while I'm not clearly not a fan of the ship I also don't believe that it just came out of nowhere, or was completely unexpected; like some eremika antis seem to think. Seasons 1-3 I honestly expected an eremika ending. Season 3 I had some thoughts that maybe we were getting a erehisu instead, but ultimately I assumed either an eremika or a no-pairing ending even by the end of season 3.
This is not because I thought the ship was built up well or had really good moments pointing towards a mutual romance/love. There are some moments where Eren shows some level of care or affection towards Mikasa; but, to me, it doesn't come off like he's in love with her. It can be interpreted that way, but I felt it was more like showing general platonic care and that those more romantic feeling could be built up or in some cases like his feelings were moving in that direction. The reason I assumed it was the most likely end game ship if there was to be a ship is because of other cannon ships where one character is in love, often obsessively so with the other and the other is either oblivious, doesn't really care, or actively seems to dislike them until the end of the series when suddenly they're also in love. ie; Sakura and Sasuke, Hinata and Naruto, Aang and Katara. Eren and Mikasa dynamic reminded me of these, especially Sakura and Sasuke.
My main issues with the eremika ship are: 1. how it compares to erehisu; Eren and Mikasa do have deep emotional moment together but Eren and Historia have deep emotional moment because of each other. That is, Eren's emotional moment with Mikasa would be just as emotional even if she wasn't there, where as Historia is integral to the moments she has with Eren. In season 4 the erehisu ship is really build up by how desperate Eren is to protect Historia, how he angrily jumps to her defense, how he's shown visiting her at the farm, how he smiles at her and no one else. Even other characters notice this; in season 3 Jean tells Eren he should stop holding hands with Historia all the time (I'm aware that the hand holding was because they were trying to get more memories/activate the founding titan, but it means that Eren and Historia had a lot of confirmed off screen time together), and in season 4 Hange looks at Eren smiling at Historia and then later tells Eren that She thought He would never sacrifice Historia; strongly indicating an assumption of a deeper level of care. All in all I think erehisu had better scenes to building a relationship of mutual care and understanding and also better scenes showing that Eren cares about Historia in a way that isn't shown with anyone else (save maybe Armin) This means that when we end up with eremika now it feels a little cheap or just off. If we got more moments showing a deeper level of care and understand between Eren and Mikasa or if The moments between Eren and Historia, and Erens reactions to Historia didn't have so much weight then an eremika ending would make more sense.
reason number 2: What it does to Mikasas character; Mikasa's love for Eren seems born out of an obsession that comes from losing her parent in a violent murder/kidnapping and then being saved by him. This is then compounded when Eren's mom dies since she was like an adoptive mother to Mikasa. She's a traumatized young girl who never actually deals with her trauma and instead hyperfixates on Eren. Mikasa entire character arc is her chasing after Eren like a neglected dog until that one scene where for like 5 minutes she finally starts to see Eren for the violent psychopath he actually is and questions what she had seen in him; but never mind that because she's back to being so obsessively in love with him that even after he dies she spends that rest of her life visiting his grave with her (probably husband and kids) and also never takes off that scarf.
reason number 3: Mikasa doesn't understand Eren. People argue that Mikasa understood Eren in a different ways, that she understood certain parts of him, but that's literally just admitting that there's clearly parts of Eren she doesn't understand. Actually, I'd argue that as its depicted Mikasa doesn't seem to understand Eren on a fundamental level. Examples: When he failed at the initial ODM gear test she told him to give up being a soldier and then went on to say that he needn't drop out alone, that she would be following him; when he passed the ODM gear test she says that he's relieved that he wont be separated from her. She assumes that the reason he'd be upset about failing to make it as a soldier is related specifically to her and not wanting to be apart from her; When Connie is angry about Eren laughing after Sasha's death he asks Mikasa why he would do that and she can't answer; despite the fact that she's witnessed him laughing in an emotional and traumatic situation before and should have been able to understand that he does it as a coping mechanism. She'd also completely blind to his obvious anti-social personality disorder (psychopathy), though to be fair so is everyone else including most Eren stans. (like, I love Eren, I stan Eren but he is like text book certifiably ASPD psychopathic)

And He Was
Ghost!Steve Harrington x Witch!Reader
Series Masterlist
900 words
Tumblr media
“This is crazy!”
Steve barrels into the apartment after you.
You’d spent the rest of the train journey staring at each other as Steve held on tightly to the hand that stroked his arm. It wasn’t until a grumpy late-night commuter walked passed the both of you with a muttered get a room, that his attention was lost.
They could see him.
He tested out the waters of this new revelation with every person you passed on the way back to your apartment. Smiling and waving at the ticket attendant barely paying attention, leaning down to pat a dog belonging to a disgruntled runner that was forced to stop, opening the door for a woman who lived in your building and telling her to have a good night even through her suspicious look.
Steve Harrington could be seen again. He could greet people and help them through doors. He could touch things.
But he hadn’t bothered to touch you in the 23 minutes since he’d discovered this new development.
“Yeah it–“
“I mean what the hell?!” He paces franticly around your apartment. Smiling giddily at the feeling of your records under his fingertips, chuckling when he can pick up your teapot. “Want me to make you some tea?”
“Maybe later.”
His face falls at the lack of excitement on yours.
“What’s wrong?”
Why haven’t you jumped at the chance to touch me? You kept trying to when you couldn’t, doesn’t it matter anymore? Will you leave now that other people can give you attention?
“Nothing.” You shake your head, motioning to the teapot in his hand, “I’ll take care of that. Although I don’t think it’s gonna do you much good.” You walk towards him, “Whatever this is still doesn’t change the fact that you’re–“ He stops you from taking the pot with a hand on your arm, and you swear you still feel a zap even when there isn’t one.
Steve looks down at his hand and smiles softly when he feels the warmth of your skin under his moving thumb. He puts the pot down on your table, his now free hand moving to your waist. He leans in slowly and you can feel the inhale of his chest against your arm, that can’t be right, before his lips leave a soft peck on your cheek.
You're burning fiercer than you ever have under his gaze.
“Hi.”
You barely get the reply of a h out before he’s shifting you in front of him properly, one hand enveloping the side of your jaw while the other squeezes your waist as he presses his lips to yours.
There’s a shiver that runs through your whole body at the contact, like stepping into an ice bath, but then it’s all warmth. That familiar tingle spreads through you as his lips move against yours with a desperate pull. You flinch back before you’re lost in the feeling altogether, eyes shut and head shaking.
“I feel like this is crossing a line of delusion. I can’t be kissing a ghost! This is insan–“ Steve cuts you off with another deep kiss, hands confident in their attempt to ground you.
“You worry too much.” He mumbles into your mouth and you open your eyes, breaking your lips apart.
“Shouldn’t you be more worried? Steve, you're dead.”
He smirks, “Which means I have nothing left to worry about. Besides,” your lips click as he presses quick, sweet kisses to you between talking, “I don’t feel like I’m dead. ‘Cause I can feel again, you know?” He leans back, hazel eyes searching deep within your own, “I feel things when I’m with you.” His thumb strokes your cheek softly, “I can touch you for god’s sake.” He laughs in disbelief, “Babe, you’ve brought me back.”
You frown under his gaze of awe, “Steve that’s not possible.”
“Okay, maybe not back back, but you’ve done something.”
“I haven’t used any magic I swear.” You shake your head.
“No, not with magic. I think it’s just you.” He smiles, before licking his bottom lip, “I was content with my death when it happened you know. I got to say goodbye thanks to your friend, and I saved the people I loved with my sacrifice. Then I met you and I knew I couldn’t go. That it wasn’t really my time because I would miss out on a life with you.”
“Steve.” You whisper, eyes stinging.
“I’m serious. I don’t think it was an accident that led me to you. I think it was fate.”
“I don’t believe in fate.”
He frowns, “Isn’t that a witch thing though? You read tarot cards.”
“I use them more as guidelines on what to look out for. How to avoid bad things–”
“Whatever, I don’t care.” He shakes his head, before squeezing your hip again. “I know. You’ve done this to me.”
Tears are threatening to spill over your lash line now.
“I’m sorry.”
Steve smiles at the whisper that leaves you, “Don’t be. Best thing that’s ever happened to me. Gave me no choice but to find a way to be with you forever.”
You let him lean his body into you, giving up on fighting against your own when his lips find yours again, melting against him when he licks into your mouth. Steve Harrington was still dead, but his form appeared entirely real. How? At this moment you did not know, but you couldn’t find it in you to question it.
Because, well…you’d fallen in love with a ghost.

Worm Arc 14 thoughts from 14.8 through the end:
Gonna get a little bit gay up in here pretty soon. But first, some other stuff.
Pretty much jump right into "Oh shit everything is fucked" with the bio-weapon just spreading everywhere right away.
Skitter's focus on Tattletale specifically when trying to get them to higher ground was top level Chatterbug/Smugbug content. Like sure Sundancer and Trickster too, she wanted to save them. But when Bentley wasn't climbing fast enough what she said to herself in worry was "Tattletale."
Fucking god. Tattletale telling Skitter to fly to the higher building and use bugs so Trickster could teleport them and they'd follow? But fully knowing it wouldn't work and just trying to get Skitter to safety?
"It doesn’t look like her plan will work out. Tell her I’m sorry." - I WAS FUCKING BAWLING
I had figured that Bonesaw's contingency wasn't just a "everyone dies right now" virus or whatever. It would need to be artistic. And it would need to be a punishment to the local capes, both hero and villain. And the way to punish them would be to "take the city from them". "Make them watch it destroy itself." "Make them help".
I feel like what she did covered that general outline with a heavier focus on taking everything away from the capes. But still, god damn Bonesaw. Absolutely fucking terrifying. Super powered face blindness. At the base at least. Don't know who anyone is. Damn.
SKITTER IT'S NOT GAY YET THAT ISN'T TATTLETALE IT'S BONESAW! GAY WILL COME LATER!
If Jack put's his slimy fucking hands on my daughter again I will personally remove them.
The "Don't swear!" from Bonesaw while pretending to be Tattletale was fun. I managed to hit on it before that, but it was a good confirmation.
Fucking Jack and his "You’re versatile" after seeing Skitter make decoys while prepping to tie someone up with spiders. FUCK OFF WITH YOUR DREAMS YOU DICK. YOU CAN'T HAVE HER.
Instantly confirmed when Skitter flat refused to shoot someone despite Jack and Bonesaw telling her to. My daughter might not be perfect but she's not going to be one of you!
Coil fucked up a bit on the phone. He wasn't dealing with the pathogen so he should have done better. Even just asking everyone there to say something so he could listen to the voices. He would have known right away it wasn't Tattletale and Grue. Patching them through to Cherish that easily was a mistake. He really doesn't do as much as he could be. Like ya he's evil but that doesn't mean I'm not disappointed when he isn't using his full potential.
Cherish very fucked up when she thought letting Jack and Bonesaw know where she was would be good for her. Hope she likes her eternal torment at the bottom of the ocean. (Ok there's a chance she'll get pulled out in the future I guess.)
I'll admit, when Amy left with Victoria earlier I wasn't expecting to see them again so soon.
"Panacea is the healer, top floor, Jack is the slasher, the blond girl is the chemist-tinker." I don't know why, since it doesn't rhyme or anything, but I got very "The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true" vibes from this.
Jack trying to convince Amy by talking about how many of her ancestors were successful by being cruel and Taylor just internally going "How many were successful because they cooperated?" Love my daughter.
Victoria is still very much . . . not dead.
HOLY SHIT AMY YOU PUT YOUR SISTER IN A PERSONALIZED FLESH COFFIN MADE FROM CATS AND DOGS?
Seriously. Personalized. It has her face on the outside made out of bone. What the actual fuck Amy?
Proud of my daughter for shooting Jack, even if it didn't work.
It's probably fine that Skitter got Amy to break her brain rule again. I mean like it's good. It was the only way to fix the pathogen. It saved herself and the city. That is all good. Just . . . there might also be some long term negative outcomes. Probably fine though.
Getting gets cured and goes off to cure the city be gay.
"I leaned forward and planted a quick kiss on her lips." - EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!
WOLFSPIDER WOLFSPIDER WOLFSPIDER!
SO FUCKING GAY I LOST MY FUCKING MIND WHEN IT HAPPENED
"'You couldn’t have waited until after you’d cured me before you put the bugs on your face?' Tattletale asked. She was smiling as she asked it." - ALSO EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
SO GAY. DOUBLE GAY. EXTRA GAY. ALL THE GAY!
CHATTERBUGCHATTERBUGCHATTERBUG (SMUGBUG IS FINE TOO)!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also the level of effort the girls went through after that trying to figure out how to cure Grue and Regent without kissing? Fucking amazing. Kissing was only ok for these three. Obviously.
GAAAAAAY
Gay (bug)horse girl gay (bug)horse girl gay (bug)horse girl
And the remainder of the Nine got away. Which is pretty fucking bad I guess. What with the whole "end of the world" and all that. I get that story point is the *actual* big end of the arc. But it's been overshadowed. By the gays.
Did I mention things being gay? I just want to make sure. Cause they were. Gay that is.
Interlude 1 - Sierra is amazing. She is exactly who Skitter needs to be running things while she's away. Charlotte is also amazing and I think worships the ground Skitter walks on. My daughter is, as always, absolutely terrifying when described from anyone else's PoV. She only gets more so every time. She just uses bug speak without even realizing now. Amazing. I love her. Atlas is helping and I'm so proud of him. He even got to take the gun. I hope he gets to keep it.
Interlude 2 (thought about making this it's own post but I'll just keep it really simple) - God dammit all three of the big 3 are Cauldron created? Ugh. Legend you appear to be trying to do the right thing but you sure as shit aren't paying much attention are you? Holy shit like, you believed so much of what the Doctor has been saying for years? God damn bud. How could you look at Cauldron and assume they *aren't* doing human experimentation? Especially since you know they have done it in the past! Like god damn man! At least you do kind of acknowledge that maybe you were purposefully ignoring the signs cause you wanted to be ignorant. Maybe there is a little bit of hope for you. Hell of a lore dump interlude though. Gives me lots to think about. Also I'd absolutely listen to The Number Man talk about spreadsheets all day long.

The other side of the night
Peter Parker x male reader
Request: Tom Peter Parker x male reader, reader and Peter patrolling together and it being super goofy and cute
Tumblr media
You went out to patrol the city with Peter. You and Peter did manage to stop some thieves but that's it. You are sitting on the roof and you are watching cars pass by. The building across has a basketball game on and you start to watch it. Peter came back with pizza and drinks, he sits down next to you.
“I got pizza,” Peter said.
He takes off his mask and you took off your mask too.
“Finally, you came back. I want grape soda” You said.
“Here. Took a while because the owner wanted to take pictures with Spiderman” Peter said.
Sometimes you help Peter stop the criminals. Peter likes working with and he doesn't have to lie anymore like before. Now, you and Peter start to eat the pizza, now Peter is telling you a joke. You did laugh at the joke but it wasn't too funny. But you and Peter start to talk about funny videos and which was the best. He takes out his phone, then he showed some funny memes and videos. You and Peter can't stop laughing about it.
After eating, you and Peter start to patrol the city again. You can fly and he starts to use his webs, then he stands on the window of a random city.
“Y/n, I have a question but you can tell me no” Peter said.
“What is it?” You asked.
“How does it feel to fly? I have always been curious about flying and how it feels” Peter said.
“I don't know how to explain, to be honest. Maybe I can show you?” You said.
“How?” Peter asked.
He let you pick him up. You picked him up high enough and he sticks out his arms. You start to go fast but he started to freak out
“Slow down! I don't want to die!” Peter panicked.
“Sorry! Okay, I will go slow” You said.
You start to go slow and he didn't panic. But he is starting to like it and you couldn't help to laugh.
“I like it! I'm flying” Peter smiled.
You did it for a while. You land on a random building and he can't stop smiling.
“Y/n, that was so much fun!” Peter said.
“Good that you like it. But I won't keep doing that” You said.
“I know but it was worth it. Thanks” Peter said.
“Anytime,” You said.
Now Peter starts talking about how it felt that Tony picked me to be an Avenger. He starts to talk about Steve being serious and how Tony is a cool mentor, it made you laugh.
You and Peter saved two teenagers from being mugged. They wanted a group selfie, then you and Peter agreed to it.
--
You and Peter sit on the roof close to each other. You took a selfie with Peter, but he put the dog filter on. You two started to laugh, he adds other funny emojis in the picture.
It was getting late, you and Peter are ready to go home.
“Y/n, do you want to race home?” Peter asked.
“You, know that I have speed and I can beat you plus I can fly,” You said.
“You will lose to me” Peter smiled.
“Whatever, Spiderman. Okay, let's race” You said.
“Okay!” Peter said.
You used speed to race, but he used a device that helped him teleport.
“I don't even know why-”
“Hey!” Peter yelled.
That made you jump, he is upside down and he is holding onto the web.
“But how!?” You asked.
“Because of Tony, I got a device that will help me teleport anywhere I want,” Peter said.
“And you wanted to show it off,” You said.
“Yeah, that's why. I thought it would be fun” Peter said.
“That’s cheating,” You said.
“Nope. You're just mad that I won” Peter said.
“Whatever,” You said.
You and Peter go inside the apartment and start to change. He starts to talk about the device of what it can do.

May I ask for a headcanon for a reader x BBI Hoppy Hopscotch?
Oh thats new. Well then,
Tumblr media
BBI Hoppy Hopscotch x (gn)Reader
A/n: I'll the the point of view properly this time unlike the previous KC x fem!reader, i promise! I will be using the term "you" only!
*Audience boos*
I headcanon BBI Hoppy was experimented with strong limbs and sense of hearing. However somewhere during or after the Hour of Joy, CatNap tore her arms off and as a result, she needed to fend off herself by pouring her strength to either her feet to kick or head to headbutt. One accidental encounter with CatNap again got her one ear torn to half, but she survived. And that's where you enter, (gn)reader. In the cable car ride, you saw her still alive, her first instinct was to run away from you. You tried chasing for her but she was too quick and ran inside a building.
You made your way to do the errands that was told by Ollie, not knowing about the fact that BBI Hoppy is actually in the Playhouse in trouble. You save her from the ruined mini critters and you to stick along each other. When you met Dogday on the dungeon, you signalled for Hoppy to wait. And by the time DogDay got possessed, you ran to Hoppy who was outside but fell down, resulting to the dog chase.
Hoppy found her way in one of the tunnels tho, in the final part of the chase, she kicked DogDay away and you used your grabpack to grapple to her arms. She jumped high to the platform beyond and then the door closed on DogDay. You were in an awkward position with Hoppy but you two fixed yourselves, embarrassed. After exiting the playhouse, you two went to the next building, the Counselor's Office. Amidst the smoke, you and Hoppy got lost and separated. You heard occasional wails of a huge monster and strong feet kicking something.
Catnap caught you, setting you in a dreamscape slumber. While you're knocked out cold, Hoppy headbutted CatNap away from you, he didnt fight back and simply hissed at the giant rabbit. She had her nose twitching while she checked on you. Eventually you woke up and did what you needed to do in the office.
You and Hoppy got the Gas Production Zone to place the giant battery but Catnap suddenly appeared. Hoppy got so scared but she stood in the middle of you and the giant cat. You grabbed one of Hoppy's arms and ran towards the elevator. Good thing the grabpack was strong enough to grip and pull her. You two got goosebumps as catnap appeared in his bony form.
The elevator stopped in the Safe room, you briefly listened to the black tape that talks about the Prototype like the previous ones. You analyzed the whole room as you did the instructions in the monitor. Hoppy heard Catnap and she alerted you whenever he's nearby. Tho she is confused as there are illusions among the real catnap. Sometimes during the fight, if you were late to activate the smoke then Hoppy will kick him instead and then backs up. You two won and after blasting the green hand on Catnap, Hoppy went to block Catnap from reaching you. Until the Prototype appeared again, Hoppy froze.
Eventually you two got out to the gas production zone along with you comforting Hoppy from her trauma with the Prototype.
(idk if this whole essay is a headcanon or what 💀)
Okay so thats the in-game story stuff, now lets get to the fluff side: (this is still bbi hoppy)
Like real rabbits, her nose twitches either when danger is near or if you're with her, snuggling
Unfortunately, her voice box was destroyed so she cant speak. Maybe some occasional grunts and sqeaks but those are really faint to hear
She likes your grabpack, tho she had this 3am thought of 'why the heck would you want 4 arms' XD she cant ask you that directly tho
You love playing tag with the rabbit, you always lose tho. But she doesnt like hide and seek, it scares her when you're not in her sight
She can jump on the roofs of the buildings, she would give you a ride on her back and then you two would jump all of the buildings' roofs until she got tired
She likes how ollie is helpful and all but she also dislikes how he interrupts moments (ah yes, the ol' Ollie the interrupter)
By moments, i mean by you two snuggling, playing or sleeping
She loves your pats, kisses and hugs
Lol i think thats all i can think of🗿 these headcanons can either be viewed as platonic or romantic (idk im bad at romance yknow) buuut i tried my best

PRELIMINARY ROUND - DC COMICS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PROPAGANDA
Pantha
1.) Pantha was introduced in new titans #73 as one of the many experiments the wildebeest society was performing. She joined the titans basically right after being introduced.
With her personal subplot in the book having to do with figuring out who she is, both finding her past and building her future. sadly the former wasn't resolved before she left the titans and fell into obscurity (if that was the end I'd've been so happy)
until Geoff motherfucking Johns comes into the picture. In infinite crisis Superboy prime really wants to murder the current superboy. The only thing standing in the way of that are all the previous members of the titans. Pantha's the first one to jump in and within 2 panels of her showing up in the fucking event her head's been punched off. With more attention's given to how sad her murderer is about having to kill her. SBP goes on to kill 2 more titans including Pantha's son but that's not relevant to her mistreatment. and after 3 titans have been slayed it turns out that this was for nothing as Flash pops out of the speedforce and takes SBP away. later in the event Pantha's former team leader Dick Grayson calls her (along with the titans killed and maimed in the fight against SPB) ""titans no one will remember"".
And do you wanna know why Geoff Johns decided to kill of a titan of 3 years? To make the story of her boyfriend more interesting. First of all that's textbook fridging and I shouldn't need to tell you how bad that is and secondly the way he decided to make Leonid a more interesting character is to make him a depressed jackbooted militant Russian bootlicker.
After Pantha brutal fridging another writer decides to pick up her plot.
in Booster Gold #7 (yes. Booster Gold. you know that member of the JLI who's never interacted with any titans at any time before this. this'll become a theme in the short time she's here) we're introduced to an alternate timeline Pantha who's part of the freedom fighters.
when Booster asks what their deals are Pantha tries to explain why she wants to kill Maxwell Lord; a character she previously had zero connections to, before Green Arrow, Oliver fucking Queen interjects to tell her backstory for her. so not only was her backstory given to a Pantha who might have a completely different story to ours, given in a book she had zero connections to but fucking mansplained to us by a blonde bimbo who rightfully shouldn't fucking know who she is. Only to be fucking gunned down by a mind controlled Wild Dog not 11 pages later.
Her final appearance isn't much to note. her corpse is defiled and resurrected by a black lantern ring, she fights some of her old teammates (just not her boyfriend who was shown still being depressed at the start of blackest night: titans) only to be disintegrated by the original Dove coming down from the heavens to save the second one. I like Hawk and Dove but that's one final spit in the face for Pantha.
to explain why I've spent over 500 words trying to explain why Pantha's a victim of misogyny rather a character people'll know or like. Pantha's my favorite superhero of all time no ifs, ands or buts, hands down cards on the table favorite. Pantha's been dead for longer than I've been alive and every time she's brought back it isn't her and she's only there to die again.
in February 2021 a tie in to the event that went on at the time was released where superboy-prime was redeemed. SBP was redeemed before Pantha was allowed to see the panel again. And if that doesn't make your fucking blood boil then I've failed as a propagandist.
Starfire (CW: Sex Trafficking)
1.) Her original characterization was fairly decent, however it still had her stuck in relationships with men that weren't very good for her and had overtones of racism with how she was written. Post that her characterization was slowly chipped away at, some writers with harder sledgehammers than others, culminating in current writing where she's dismissed as "just a fling" to her original counterpart (Dick Grayson) to prop up a different ship (Dick Grayson/Barbara Gordon) and frequently has been used as eye candy in other comics. Simply open the first comic of Red Hood and the Outlaws, which obliterated her personality to make her associate/be subservient to the Red Hood, and you'll find plenty of panels of her appearing simply for eye candy in the boobs and butt pose for absolutely no reason. This is not the only time she's been used to cater to the male gaze (I'd argue even in her original context that was part of her appeal) but in this comic she essentially has no personality beyond "i want sex" as her memory of all past events has been erased. She's essentially just a tool for her male counterparts in the comic to bounce off of, and eye candy to bring more male readers in. She does eventually get more storylines later on, but that doesn't excuse the bad writing she was put through. Her own solo series also cashes in on her sex appeal, by infantilizing at the same time as drawing her in skimpy outfits + more boobs and butt poses galore to go for the "born sexy yesterday" misogynistic trope.
2.) 2011 reboot, in RHATO she was turned into a walking fetish by retconning most parts of her character and erasing all personality displayed in the past 30 years of comics. in that iteration she is only interested in sex and is dehumanised and ‘exotic’. she ‘forgot’ all her past relationships because she doesn’t care about them only sex. her only purpose in that book is as a powerhouse and a sex/love interest for one of the male characters who view her as a trophy because she used to date someone he dislikes (in this continuity) let’s also not forget that she was first created just to be a love interest and although she did grow into a hood character at some point, she is treated horribly time and time again by writers because of conflicting ships. she’s written as a ‘vixen’ as opposed to another ‘good girl’ female character who is shipped with the same guy in canon
3.) Kory’s oversexualization and the dehumanization associated with it is especially egregious in the context of her backstory as a survivor of sexual trafficking AND her black/indigenous coding— both demographics who are at especially increased at risk for experiencing sexual abuse in real life. Especially when it’s done in service of the narrative of a white man (Jason Todd) and in parallel with the similar character assassination of a Navajo man (Roy Harper). It’s so fucking bad, free my girl.

I’m just trying to figure out timelines for everyone across the spin offs (and further series of spin offs) so correct me if anything here is wrong
S9ep5- Rick blows up the bridge and is presumed dead by everyone. Jadis is seen to “save” Rick and take him away in a helicopter to the CRM.
S9ep14- we see a heavily pregnant Michonne and Daryl searching the river for Ricks body. Judith gets kidnapped and Daryl and Michonne both get scarred by the group that took her and the other kids.
S10ep18- set across the 6 year time jump. Daryl lives in the woods looking for Ricks body. Every now and again Carol comes and checks on him. We learn about Leah and how he got Dog.
S11e24- we see ricks failed CRM escape where he throws his bag/ phone/ boots into a boat (presumed to take place somewhere within the 6 year time jump)
TOWL Ep1- we see Ricks other escape attempts over his years of being captured and his slow acceptance of his new life in the CRM. Rick loses his hand in this time. (Also presumed to have taken place within the 6 year time jump+ the rest of twd timeframe)
S9ep5 ending- We are “introduced” to older Judith.
S9ep6- We are introduced to RJ, Rick and Michonnes son.
S9ep7- Carol is taking Henry to Hilltop, and stops off at Daryl’s camp in the woods where he has remained over the 6 years of Rick being missing. She convinces Daryl to come with them back to the communities to keep an eye on Henry for her. Daryl reintegrates back into the communities after his long stretch in the woods with Dog looking for Rick/ Ricks body.
End of s9 through s10- Daryl is fully settled back into the communities and has stepped up to a more leader type role. He’s shown to build a good relationship with Judith and RJ through these season. They call him Uncle Daryl.
S10ep1- Judith and RJ share the story of “The Brave Man”
s10ep13, Michonne leaves Alexandria, leaving the kids in the care of “uncle daryl”. She communicated with Judith and RJ via walkies. Michonne is captured by Virgil, finds Ricks boots, sets off to find Rick and helps the people we see her with in the beginning of TOWL. Michonne tells Judith that she’s going to find Rick.
Early TOWL Ep2- we see Michonne formally joining Nat and his people, Michonne goes out of walkie range and can’t contact Judith anymore.
Twd s10ep16- Judith tells Daryl that she hasn’t heard off her mom in a while and is upset that if Daryl found out that Michonne was in contact with her, he would leave too.
Twd s11ep10- we see Daryl taking guardianship of Judith and RJ in the commonwealth. Carol has also relocated to the commonwealth. Judith says she will stay in the commonwealth as long as Michonne knows where to find them.
S11ep15- Carol is looking after Judith and RJ in the common wealth while Daryl is away. They call her Aunt Carol. She’s seen to be taking care of them in her home, cooking for them, and taking them to school.
S11ep23- judith is shot
S11ep24- Judith tells Daryl and Carol that Michonne left to find Rick because she found something that belonged to him while trying to survive her gunshot wound
TOWL Ep2 later - Michonne and Nat survive a mustard gas attack but spend (presuming a) year phiding out recovering.
S11ep24 finale post time jump- Time jump of about a year (presuming to line up with the mustard gas time jump in TOWL ep2) Daryl says goodbye to Carol, Judith and RJ. Daryl tells Carol they’ll see eachother again. Daryl tells Judith that if he sees anything “out there” he will bring Rick and Michonne home. Daryl leaves the kids with (presumably) Carol while Daryl goes out looking for Rick and Michonne.
TOWL Ep1 and ep2 endings- Michonne and Rick reunite
TOWL ep3-6- Rick and Michonne escaping the CRM and coming back home. Rick and Michonne reunite with their children
DD e5 (flashbacks)- Daryl runs out of gas for his motorbike out on the road trying to find Rick and Michonne. Seems to be in frequent contact with Carol via radio. He’s in Maine trading with a group that rounds up fresh walkers. Daryl goes with the group to trade walkers for gas in order to get home. He uses the groups radio to talk to Carol and promises her he will be home soon. Carol tells Daryl over the radio “(….) came back” but the interference meant he didn’t hear who “came back” (at this point we are assuming that Carol is trying to tell Daryl that Rick and Michonne came back). Daryl ends up captured by this group and in his attempt to escape them, he jumps off the boat into the sea, hoping to land on a lifeboat.
DD ep1- It is revealed that Daryl has ended up stranded in France.
DDep1-6- Daryl meets Isabelle and Laurent. Laurent was born to a freshly turned Walker (Isabelle’s sister) and is thought to be the saviour of humanity. Daryl eventually but reluctantly agrees to help transport Laurent to “the nest” in Paris on the promise of being able to find a boat to get him back to America. He gets Laurent to the Nest, and Isabelle tells Daryl that he’s bad for “abandoning” Laurent when he attempts to leave and go back home. Despite this Daryl prepares to leave and goes to the beach where he prepares to board a boat to take him home, but then sees Laurent has followed him and is surrounded by Walkers. Daryl goes to save Laurent, and misses his boat, leaving him still stranded in France.
DDep6 ending- Carol is out on the road (presumably) trying to track down Daryl after he hadn’t been in contact with her when he said he would. She runs into a man on Daryl’s motorbike and demands to know where he got it, fearful of what has happened to Daryl. She locks the man in the trunk of her car, taking Daryl’s motorbike and driving to the port in Maine to try and find Daryl.
Book of Carol teaser- Carol arrives at the port with Daryl’s bike, asking the group about the man they got it off. They seem reluctant to reveal anything about what’s happened to Daryl. She spots Daryl’s crossbow and takes it, threatening the men and demanding to know where Daryl is. Daryl is shown to still be in France.
Book of Carol (DD.s2)- TBC
Dead City is presumably set a good few years in the future with Hershel being aged up? Not sure exactly where this falls
Edit- I’ve not actually watched Daryl Dixon OR Dead City so this is all just from what I’ve followed plot wise on here. I could be completely out so please let me know if I’ve missed anything vital

Every now and then they went on a mission together. It turned out each of them had a special skill set that proved to be useful in some cases. And the company was also nice.
Somehow Stark had managed to crawl into Strange's off-putting shell.
A few days ago, he had contacted the werewolf because several children had disappeared in the same area and he suspected an underground trafficking ring behind it. He had obtained some clothing and toys from those children, which he now handed to Stark in separate plastic bags.
"Can you pick up their trail? There's not enough DNA for a tracking spell."
"So I'm just your better tracking dog?" Tony snorted, without really being offended. "Yeah, sure, it's not like I have more important stuff to do."
Stephen raised his eyebrow. There was a small smirk on his lips. "More important than to possibly save five or more children from a cruel and painful fate?"
Tony was very unhappy about that comeback since it was very valid and he had nothing to counter. So he followed Strange through a portal to the place where one of the children had last been seen.
He took a plush bunny from one of the labeled bags and sniffed it.
Then he checked the surrounding air and concentrated.
When he was younger the many scents used to be overwhelming. But he became pretty good at filtering out what wasn’t of interest at the moment.
A few days ago the lawn had been mowed, and since these past few days had been really hot, the freshly cut grass was on the fast way to become straw. It carried a hint of the typical smell from stables.
Various cats and dogs were living in the area. Tony ignored those scents completely.
A car drove by, diesel engine. The brakes dragged a little and produced a fine abrasion.
Then he noticed something. It was faint, a few days old, and he followed the trail. An Iron Man suit, piloted by Jarvis, was sent to scan the area from there.
Stephen followed him without questioning him.
He knew from experience that if he was dragged out, something crucial would happen. Fortunately, they were in a quieter area of Queens. It was easier to pick out the older lead here than in midtown. And once picked up, he would hardly lose a trail. He didn't even need to shift for it.
Strange walked at his side, eyeing the surroundings. There was still no smell at all of the sorcerer. And that fact was still weird.
Tony was curious how he would smell. Probably something calm with a hint of herbs, like his teas. Something warm and inviting.
The Were shook his head.
He shouldn’t get distracted!
The path led them through a narrow passage between tall buildings. The area became poorer and poorer.
“You’re unusually quiet,” the Were noted after a while.
“I don’t want to distract you from your work.”
“I can track a smell and listen to you at the same time. It’s called multitasking and I’m an expert in it.”
Stephen scoffed. “Alright then. What do you want to talk about?”
Tony led them under a bridge. It smelled like pee. "Oh, nothing in particular. How was your weekend?" He stopped in front of a metal fence and rattled the gate. It was locked. So he tapped his wristwatch, but before he could weld it open, Strange did a swift motion with his fingers and the door magically swung open.
Stephen moved ahead past Tony. “My weekend was fine.”
Tony rolled his eyes and muttered, “Show off,” before he followed him suit. He waited a few more seconds, but Stephen offered nothing more. “Wow, don’t tell me more. I can already picture it as if I’ve been there myself.” His words were dripping with sarcasm. “Let me guess: you read an old book, drank some tea and argued with Wong about which of them was on dishwashing duty? Maybe you even washed the cloak.”
The cloak moved as if by wind when it was mentioned. Stephen stopped and turned to the engineer, looking into his eyes. “I went to a dimension that consists purely of energy and gaseous elements. The inhabitants have never seen a solid shape and I had to disguise myself as some kind of smoke. I chased an ill-mannered nebula through some kind of semi-liquid slime and prevented it from passing into our plane of existence.”
Tony blinked. “You’re making that up!” he accused the sorcerer.
There was the hint of a smile on Stephen’s lips. “I also did wash the cloak afterwards.” With that, he started moving again.
Tony followed him, still not sure if he was told the truth or just some nonsense.
Suddenly there was a noise above them. Something approached them through the air, then landed with a gentle ‘thump’.
“Hey Mister Stark, Hello Doctor Strange. I saw the armor nearby and thought you might need some backup with whatever it is you’re doing here.”
The teenager didn’t lift his mask but the men could hear the nervous smile under it.
Tony exchanged a quick glance with Stephen.
The sorcerer shrugged his shoulders. “It’s just a rescue mission,” he said lowly.
That was good enough for the Were. "Sure, but do as we say and stay behind us," he told Peter.
"Yes, totally!" He sounded thrilled to be included.
So the three of them continued on their way, and the men explained the situation to Peter in a few words along the way.
Between the three of them, with the help of Tony's suit in the air, it was easy to find the missing children's whereabouts. Either the kidnappers were not very smart, or they felt very safe.
It was a fucking cliché: an unused office building on a street with lots of warehouses, most of which were empty.
The kids seemed to be locked in a barely furnished room next to an empty open-plan office that covered almost the whole floor. All the doors were glass, but most were covered with newspapers. So were the windows, so they had no visual contact.
Tony had called his Iron Man back down and stepped in it to get a better read of the data.
There were five armed guys in the open office space and two more in another adjacent room.
Stephen, Tony, and Peter quickly came up with a plan: Stephen and Tony would take care of the armed guys, while Peter snuck to the kids. Once it was safe, he would get them out.
They had the element of surprise on their side and between the sorcerer’s magic and Iron Man’s blasting beams, they should make enough commotion to create a clear pathway for Peter.
But, somehow, everything went to shit.
Apparently, the guys had been prepared. Maybe they knew that human trafficking was prone to vampire attacks – or they had done business with them in the past and had taken precautions. Their weapons carried silver bullets and they were both good marksmen and skilled fighters.
They caught Peter on his way to the kids and engaged him in a fight as well.
The guys guarded their merchandise well.
One moment Stephen was dealing with two guys at the same time, only relying on his magic, while Peter dodged the swings of his opponent, and Tony engaged the boss of this little gang in a hand to hand fight, repulsor vs knife.
The next moment, Tony was suddenly in a headlock with a gun to his head. He was wearing his helmet, but he had never tested it if it would withstand a close-range shot. Or several of them at the same spot.
"Freeze or I'll shoot his head off!" the guy yelled at Tony's companions.
The Were growled and clawed his opponent's arm, but the grip around his neck did not loosen. He didn't dare to turn because the guy's finger twitched on the trigger.
Stephen and Peter stopped what they were doing – the sorcerer ever calm, but his gaze was dark and he seemed to be calculating his options in his head. He gave a secret signal to the cloak, which was currently not on his back, but was stealthily approaching Tony's attacker from behind.
Peter on the other hand was still a kid and seeing his mentor in this immediate danger made him go pale. "No, Mr. Stark!" He jerked on instinct as if he wanted to leap over to him and rush to help, but forced himself against it.
Still, it was one move to many.
Tony's attacker aimed his gun at the boy instead and pulled the trigger – one, two, three times.
The Were thrashed against his hold. “No!”
But it was too late. Nothing could beat a bullet.
Except maybe a very skilled vampire.
There was a blur. A flash of blue and red. In the same instant Stephen stood in front of Peter and threw his arms around him in protection.
He hissed in pain as the bullets hit his back. They were perfectly aimed, and they burned so badly that they must be spiked with silver. A metal that was bad for Were’s and Vamp’s alike.
These people certainly knew their stuff.
Peter shrieked, first of surprise at the sudden appearance of the sorcerer, then because Stephen’s protection hug grew very heavy as he slumped to his knees.
Tony went feral. He saw his pack threatened and retracted his faceplate to bite his opponent in his arm. Then he turned in his grip, his claws extended as he transformed.
The armor adapted to his four-legged body like the masterpiece of technology that it was. It no longer covered Tony's entire body. In this form, he preferred to keep his face and paws exposed while fighting.
It was easy to overpower the traffickers after that. Growling angrily, he barely cared about how much he hurt the people who dared to attack his pack. As long as one of them survived in case the authorities wanted to pry more information out of them.
One of them tried to crawl with a broken leg towards the door. A ridiculous attempt to escape. The Were grabbed his trouser leg with his jaw and yanked him back. The man gave a startled yelp as he was thrown ruggedly against a cabinet, where he remained motionless on the floor.
Tony looked around for the other two traffickers, but there was nothing more than a pathetic bunch left of them. That hardly calmed the Were down, even if the enemies were all neutralized. The smell of fear, sweat and adrenaline was still in the air and kept him on edge.
He whipped his head around when he heard Peter’s panicked voice. “Mr. Stark!”
The boy kneeled next to Strange, his eyes wide and worried. The sorcerer sat scrambled, his head hanging low. He was heavily breathing – and bleeding. Shit.
Tony rushed over to the two of them and ducked under Peter’s arms right into Strange’s personal space. Something wasn’t right.
Stephen turned away from him, hiding his face.
The Were was too big for this, needed too much space, so Tony shifted back into his human form, still wearing his armor, and laid his hand onto the other man’s shoulder.
“Doc?”
“I’m fine,” Stephen gritted through his teeth.
“Like hell you are!” The anger that hadn’t completely shifted into worry blazed back to life. “You got shot!”
Those bullets were meant for Peter. How the hell did he manage to get over there in time? Tony hadn’t seen his signature glow of magic.
“I just need to return to the Sanctum.” Stephen had trouble talking under the intensified burning in his back. He needed to get the bullets out of his body. The wounds would heal regardless on the outside. But his flesh would be burned alive from the inside. Like a slow and very painful poison.
The Vamp felt his control slipping. Not on his mind but his body. The urge for blood, for regeneration became stronger. His fangs were out and so were probably his claws, which was why he cradled his hands close to his chest.
It made reaching for his sling ring in his belt all the way harder.
Peter hadn’t left his side, the brave boy that he was.
And now Tony appeared right in front of him. Stephen tried to turn away again, to hide somewhere. Anywhere.
But Tony held him by his shoulders.
Why wouldn’t they leave him alone?
“Please,” Stephen tried again, his throat dry. “Just take the children home. I can manage.”
“You must have hit your head pretty hard if you think we would leave you like that.” Tony's voice softened with his next words. “Stephen, look at me.”
The Vamp shook his head, his eyes shut close and his lips tightly pressed together. That was difficult due to his heavy breathing.
He was a vampire. Undead. He didn’t have to breathe at all, but it helped with the pain and besides, it was a force of habit. He had gotten so used to blending in.
Tony's finger gently but forcefully pushed his chin up. “Stephen.” His voice was so very concerned.
The Were was too stubborn to let this one slide.
And Stephen couldn’t fight it anymore.
Finally, he looked at Tony. His eyes wide in anticipation of the man’s reaction. And glowing red. The open mouth allowed the heavy breathing to continue, his fangs now on display.
Tony needed a second to understand the meaning of what he saw. His eyes darted over the sorcerer’s face, down to his hands – still scarred – but also with long claws.
The fact that the man was still alive – ha – minutes after being shot in the back several times.
He let him go as if burned and stumbled back a few steps. His face is a mixture of betrayal, anger and disgust.
It couldn’t be.
He would have known it. He would have smelled it.
But sorcerers didn’t smell of anything.
“Peter,” Tony addressed the boy that was still crouching next to Strange and who watched the whole interaction concerned and confused. “Step away from him. Now!”
There was no room for arguing in the command.
For the split of a second Stephen’s face showed the hurt he felt. Not the pain from the bullets. Then a carefully put together neutral mask slid in the place.
The boy hesitated only a second before he finally obeyed. But it stung as bad as Tony’s change of behavior.
Stephen was still looking at the man, unsure what he would do next.
Tony seemed not sure himself. He raised his hand with the repulsor glove and it made this little noise signaling that it was active and ready to shoot. But he didn’t fire at the vampire.
Their eyes met. Stephen did not avoid his gaze, nor did he not look away. There was acceptance in his eyes – in those red glowing eyes that didn’t blink.
Tony wasn’t sure he had ever seen the guy blinking.
His ears twitched as his fine hearing picked up the sounds of the children that were still sitting frightened next door, still waiting to be rescued. They needed him. Maybe they even needed medical help.
He grabbed Peter - who had stepped next to him - by the arm and pulled him with him, walking backwards to the door. He kept his hand raised and the repulsor activated until they left the room. Only then he turned around and away from the vampire.
Peter looked at him with big eyes. “Mr. Stark…”
“We got a job to do, kiddo.” His voice was stern, cutting off any further objection from the boy.
Tony tried not to think about the fact he left the man he called friend – the man he probably had preferred to call other things too – behind, injured and bleeding.
That man was a Vamp – an enemy. He had lied to Tony, had deceived him.
Had everything been just pretended? An illusion?
Tony’s heart ached at the betrayal he felt.
He should have killed him immediately. But the sorcerer had saved Peter. And even if he hadn’t, Tony wasn’t sure if he could have killed Strange – even if he was a vampire. And that was alarming in a whole different way.
