I have very complicated feelings for the Vengeance Saga (after the first listen)
Disclaimer: I will only criticize Epic the Vengeance Saga as a work on its own, not for its inaccuracy or deviation from mythology and The Odyssey. There are more knowledgable people who can point out and analyze the changes in Epic the Musical, but that is not what I'll be tackling here.
To put it bluntly, I'm not being angsty about it as I should. The whole saga just... didn't feel right with me.
Now, first off all, I'm a big fan of Epic and had been following it since the Cyclops saga (first version). I've been in love with many songs and hyperfixed it for months on end. But when the Vengeance saga came along, I didn't feel that same bubbling love rise in me.
Even as a fan, this isn't my first time having peeves with Epic. I didn't jam with the re-release sagas for a while, I'm underwhelmed with the Circe VS Odysseus fight and other issues, very unpopular opinion but "Monster" wasn't too impactful to me, and also the God Games (especially Zeus' attack).
The Vengeance Saga though? Well, they say we gotta do the Bun-Meat-Bun (or whatever the hell its name really is) technique when giving criticism, so I'll start with the good parts.
I love that Odysseus looked so done with Calypso in "Not Sorry For Loving You". They're basically this meme:
Like sorry you're a sad but you're still an abuser 😒
Then Odysseus starts singing the reprise for "Full Speed Ahead" but there's no one to back him up. That one hits me hard. To whoever on Tumblr said that after the Thunder Saga we will never hear the crew's back-up again and Odysseus' singing will be answered with silence, Apollo really blessed you with the red ball.
Hermes and the Winions' part was really cool too! I really like them being mischievous helper! The warning about the wind bag and the changing scene of Odysseus fighting off sea monsters while Hermes just vibing with the beats is 👌👌👌
But after that the hype started to sizzle out for me. You might want to skip this part if you're not comfortable with harsh criticism because I WON'T hold back.
It's really backward but I like the Odysseus VS Charybdis draft more than the final production. Charybdis' roars and music are somehow less intimidating, which is a shame because I thought this would be one of the biggest struggles Odysseus will face. Even with awesome illustrative animatics, the scene wasn't as thrilling as I've expected.
The other songs got massive improvement from its draft version (on top of my mind I can think of "Thunder Bringer", "There Are Other Ways", "Little Wolf"), but I don't get why "Charybdis" didn't get up-graded as much like them. It's like a cake that was throughly baked but half decorated and it just didn't taste as good as I've hoped.
Then we have the Odysseus VS Poseidon part in "Get In The Water" and "Six Hundred Strikes". The first thought I had for GITW is this song sounds like all the draft snippets were mashed together without a smooth transition/connection between them. Jorge and Steven's performance is great, but there's not enough tension for me to dread for Odysseus. When Poseidon first met Odysseus in "Ruthlessness", the whole opening was terrifyingly good! And we didn't even have any illustration animatic back then! (that's not to say the GITW animatics were bad, they just can't salvage much when the song itself was already weak)
I wasn't impressed with Poseidon's Shatter The Ocean move either. It's supposed to be the Strongest AttackTM but it's less scary than when he and the Laestrygonians destroyed Odysseus' eleven ships with probably 1% of their power. It didn't even help when Poseidon looked like he's having a seizure with lights pouring out of his eyes and mouth during the transformation.
Odysseus being literally on the brink of death with the souls of his loved ones pulling him into the abyss is a gem in the rough, but because we've seen Odysseus almost drowning before in the end of the Thunder Saga, it's not as shocking as it should be. Furthermore, Poseidon could have instant-killed Odysseus right then and there but didn't really annoyed me. But I guess he just wanted Odysseus to slowly suffer while dying.
Right when I thought the progress will get better, it... gets down. I can go with Odysseus using wind to escape the water, but him wearing it like a jetpack is so comical it ruined the drastic of the situation. And I'm officially let down when Odysseus FUCKING ATTACKED Poseidon in "Six Hundred Strike".
What? Just... why with that choice?
Look, I'm not gonna fault Epic for making creative liberties from the source material (as said in the disclaimer), but I will criticize if that change contradict itself in the transformative work. And this is one of them.
Poseidon and the gods have been proven time and time again in the musical just how powerful they are. Their ominous and grandiose entrances, them striking fear and inferiority in our hearts just by singing. Even Circe, a low-level goddess, poses a constant threat to the crew and Odysseus had to get help from Hermes just to get a chance to corner her (and Hermes even joked that he can still die!)
Poseidon easily destroyed almost all of Odysseus' fleet. Odysseus was very avoidant of him, opting to go to the literal Underworld to find instruction on how to dodge him and sailing through Scylla's lair + willing to sacrifice six men for safe passage. And when Poseidon said he can drown all of Ithaca, it's not just bluffing, he would and could have done that. Yeah, the King of the Sea is THAT BIG of a treat.
So no, Odysseus isn't cool to attack Poseidon, he's being stupid. I'm not even cheering for him the whole him he fight, just groaning at how ridiculous the whole thing is. If Epic is more believable and sticks to WHAT IT HAD ESTABLISHED BEFORE, having a sudden burst of anger and choosing ruthlessness won't save Odysseus from one swipe of Poseidon's trident. Odysseus stood no chance against a one of the most powerful deity, even if he's the protagonist and love his family.
Not only that, Poseidon didn't even defend himself and was wounded by a mere human! And he just sat there and took all the blows and insults from Odysseus??? And he actually begged Odysseus to stop and agree to quell the storm to let him get home??? I'm not buy that bullshit. I'm more upset that a literal Olympian god was nerfed down than Odysseus having a Gary Stu moment. Give me a break, that try-hard moment to be cool and edgy just show how badly written the scene is.
What's the fucking point of hyping up how dangerous the gods are if a human can take one down? Tell me this isn't some Wattpad-y Greek myth retelling fanfic where the teenage Y/N sass her way to defeat an entire pantheon. Epic really traded its opportunity to be better for some cheap and out-of-the-blue dramas in this saga, dare I say it's even worse than Zeus' OOC attack on Athena. I'm very disappointed with that decision.
On an end note, the saga did have one saving point with the "After everything you've done, how will you sleep at night?" - "Next to my wife" lines. Odysseus knew he could be the most horrendous man ever and Penelope would still choose his side, that just show how powerful their love and faith in each other are.
But not enough to excuse all the terrible cinematic choices.

Bestiiieeeee hiiiiiiii!!!!!
May I request some kink headcanons for Jack, Loki, Hermes, Poseidon, and Hades please? Thank youuuu!! Love you bestieeeee!!!
WORMYYYYY <3
Hi Bestie :3
Warnings: Spit kink, Thigh riding, knife kink, mentions of blood, Size kink, choking, bdsm, Degradation (Use of words such as whore, slut.) Gn reader, ooc ror characters.
Request: Yes.
Words: 1,211
≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾
Jack The Ripper
Jack is into some… Pretty intense shit I feel. Though that also comes with being a murder, I don't think he can be with someone that simply just likes vanilla.
He definitely has a knife kink. Let him drag that blade down your skin and watch the cripples of red that come to the surface. You look so much prettier in red, after all.
Let him lick the blood off of you, tongue dragging across all of the sensitive crooks and crannies of your body. He'll bite and suck pretty red marks all over your body, worshiping you thoroughly.
Jack has a thing for choking you during sex. His thrusts are hard and fast too, though he makes sure to reach all of the right places.
He enjoys when you crawl on top of him to initiate anything intimate. If he's buried in a book just gently push him back and crawl on top of him. Straddle his hips and trail your fingers over his chest, he'll be hooked onto you.
He does enjoy some bondage. He likes seeing you all tied up and pretty for him.
If you're being too loud he won't hesitate to shove his fingers down your throat and choke and gag you on them. Be good for this Pretty little Psycho, okay?
Loki
Another one that's into pretty intense shit.
Have you ever had sex while in the air before? Because with this God that's exactly what's going to happen.
You better be able to shut your mouth because he just loves doing it in public. If you get caught he isn't stopping later. He'll tease and call you names, showing you off to whoever caught you in the moment.
He's the definition of a sadist. You will be his cock sleeve. He's another one that enjoys choking the daylights out of you.
Every wonder what that long tongue of his can do? Nothing not sinful, I'll tell you that much. He's able to reach so deep into that hole of yours. If you're not squirming and writhing under him he's not stopping.
He's as Much of a Dom as he is a Bottom. Loki is the complete definition of a switch.
He's very whiny when he's a bottom. Be careful with him, he's sensitive. (Don't be careful with him.) Twist and pull his nipples, bite him, absolutely demolish him, he loves it.
He's very much into denying you of your orgasm as much as he's into you denying him of his orgasm.
Hermes
Has more vanilla than the rest but he can still be rough.
He likes hard slow thrusts that make you squirm. He does like going around 2-3 rounds before he's tired out and wants to sleep.
He will push your mouth open and spit into it. Praise him. Worship him. He is your God. He is your everything. Thank him for spitting on you. Thank him for calling you names.
Speaking of names, he will degrade you with a mixture of praise. Though, it is more degradation than praise.
Hands down the best at After care. He'll massage you, he'll get you drinks, he'll draw a bath for you. Just let him pamper you please, it's what he does after being so rough with you.
Please cock warm him. He enjoys being inside of you while reading or relaxing in general. Zeus usually has him running in circles, treat this gentleman well.
Not only is sex love making to him but it's also a type of stress relief for him. Hermes is always wound up in some way.
He will have quickies, though he does prefer being in the bedroom more than anything.
Poseidon
The King of domination. Be scared for your weeping hole, this God is huge in size.
Definitely has a size kink. He enjoys seeing your stomach bulge by the mere size of his cock. You'll catch him pressing down on the bulge or just caressing your stomach in general.
He's very heavy on degradation. If you can't take hard core heavy name calling its best not to be in a relationship with you.
Poseidon also likes cockwarming. He'll have you sitting on his cock for hours and everytime you wiggle even slightly he adds more time to it. It's best to just obey his orders.
Rough sex is always sex with him.
Rut on his thigh like a bitch in heat, or if he is in a punishing cruel mood perhaps he'll have you rut against his shoe.
Don't forget to lick it clean afterwards.
Definitely into Bdsm. He's not going to be nice to you, either. He thrusts hard and fast and your body will be sore in the morning. You will be leaving scratch marks on his back when he goes down on you.
But that's okay, Poseidon likes pain.
Hades
The King of Big dick himself?
Definitely has a size kink, have you seen the bulge in his pants? He probably has the biggest cock out of the gods, he loves seeing your stomach bulge as he bullies his cock inside of you.
Hades always makes you feel like your filled to the absolute brim, though that's because you literally are. But that's okay, he'll mold the shape of his cock into you so it'll be nice and comfortable.
Likes Cock warming. Hades always has loads of paperwork to do and with his brother's shenanigans on top of it he's stressed. Just be nice and sit on his cock for him while he completes paperwork, he'll reward you nicely afterwards.
Another one that's onboard with Thigh riding. He'll help you rut your hips against his thigh until you're whimpering and moaning into his shoulder limp as hell.
He's much more vanilla than most of the other gods, though that doesn't mean Hades doesn't like to be a bit experimental.
Bestie Bonus: Shiva
Another big dicked bitch.
Once again this man has a size kink, he likes seeing you struggling to take in his size. This man also has a pretty dick, you know all the lines on his body? They're on his dick too. And there's a large pretty vein that goes all the way down the back of it.
He's thicker than he is longer.
He has four arms for a good reason. The way he can maneuver you around is amazing, and it's never a struggle to get you in all the correct positions he wants you in.
He'll lay back and let you do whatever you want to him on the lazier nights, but don't get too cocky, he's still a Dom through and through.
He'll spit in your mouth and look cocky while doing it. Shiva also loves leaving marks all over your body.
He'll worship your thighs. Literally. Leaves bites, Hickey's, and all types of marks on your thighs.
If you have a voice kink it's your time to Shine. Shiva loves whispering in your ear during sex, telling you how much of a whore you are, or a slut you are. How beautiful you are under him like this.

I would love to request a fic of Ares x fem reader please? Maybe based of your post of being Ares favorite mortal lover and defending her or whatever idea you may have?
I think you and someone else requested this so COME GET YA’LL JUICE.
I made this sadder than it needed to be but it’s an illness at this point. Warning for a down bad Ares. Like, OOC type of down bad
Gods are typically very predictable when it comes to love.
It's usually temporary love and honestly a mortal is lucky if it lasts more than a month. They get together, have a baby then the god moves on before the baby is even born. It sounds heartless because it is, but that's just how it was when you were immortal. You got bored very quickly and chasing after mortals gave you something to do when life got too quiet.
That's what typically happens.
Sometimes though, the gods find very special mortals.
For Hermes, it was May. For Poseidon, it was Sally. For Ares, it was you.
Ares constantly watched over you and your child, even if you never knew. He couldn't be with you and he knew this, but that didn't mean he couldn't make sure you were ok and help out occasionally. Sometimes it'd be something as small as leaving you gifts to cheer you up, and sometimes it'd be something as big as delivering “bad luck” to your boss when he was being rude.
So imagine how upset he got when he watched your new partner continue to mistreat you.
Zeus made himself very clear.
Absolutely DO NOT commit any acts of violence against a particular mortal named Trent.
Ares thought about listening. Then Ares thought about the fact that he was willing to allow a war to happen between Zeus, Hades and Poseidon and he decided that since he's done a lot worse, a few felonies wouldn't be so bad in the grand scheme of things.
~~
The arguing made Ares pause before he could knock.
He heard your voice. “In my bed Trent?! Are you serious?!”.
The male groaned in annoyance, “If you can't accept that relationships have hiccups then maybe you don't actually care for me! I'll leave you alone right now if that's what you want! It's just fuck me, right?! After all I do?!”.
“What do you do?!”.
“I told you I had demons I was fighting!”
“Is the demon monogamy?”
He huffed and he swung the door open while going on and on about the so called demons he was fighting that you wouldn't understand, and if Ares had Hades powers, he'd send him some actual demons to worry about.
His eyes landed on Ares, “who are you?”.
You came into view right behind Trent and your eyes widened.
It was strange. Ares hardly paid attention to little details when it came to someone's appearance. After a while his eyes skimmed over people, and even if a mortal managed to catch his attention, he usually forgot what they looked like before the week ended. You were different though and if this is what Poseidon and Hermes felt then he understood why it was so hard for them to let their mortals go.
He wasn't necessarily an artistic guy but he could pick out the specific shade of your eyes, even if it was the most basic eye color. He memorized the shape of your hair and its color. He memorized certain mannerisms or habits you had, no matter how small. If someone blindfolded him, he was sure he'd still be able to find you just by hearing your laughter. He'd pat the area around him as he walk towards you and once he felt your hand in his, he'd know he was home. And sure, there was a mortal out there that had the same texture on their fingertips but he didn't care about them. He cared about you and even if you thought you weren't special, he would strongly disagree. Mortals didn't stay in his mind. You did. That meant something.
But Trent didn't seem to understand how special you were. He didn't understand that you were doing him a service just by standing near him and it made him angrier than he expected.
“This is Ares”, you said. It was embarrassing for him to admit how much he loved how his name sounded on your tongue, so he never admitted it. At least not out loud.
“Like the Zodiac Aries?”. He was going to correct him and make several snarky comments but you spoke before him.
“A-R-E-S. Ares. Like the God of War. Spirit of Battle. Mars for the Romans” you explained and the smirk that formed on his face further proved how down bad he was for you. The shit was embarrassing.
“I'm the father of her child” Ares added and Trent did not look pleased. He looked back and forth between the two of you and scoffed.
“You've been cheating on me, haven't you?”. He didn't even give you a chance to respond. “You're on my ass about what I did but you've already been whoring around. Just like I fucking thought”
“My kid is eight” you said simply. Ares hated that although you kept stepping back, he kept moving towards you. His shoulders were tall and proud, like he was trying to intimidate you into admitting something that wasn't true.
“I bet you're still sleeping with him or any other man that looks at you! I should've known better than to dedicate myself to a single mother. You're all just cheap sl-” his sentence was stopped abruptly when Ares grabbed onto his shoulder. At first Ares didn't realize how hard he was squeezing his shoulder, but once he noticed the sounds coming out of his mouth and saw his pathetic attempts to pry his hand off of him, Ares squeezed harder.
“She missed a very crucial part” his hand squeezed harder still and he pushed down, making the man hit his knees on the ground hard. “Ares, God of War. Spirit of Battle. Protector of Mistreated Women”, he glanced at you then looked back down at the man clenching his shoulder under him. “Have you been mistreating this woman?”.
Trent looked at you but all that did was fuel Ares’ with more rage. The nerve to treat you so cruelly for months then look to you for help. He yanked his shoulder towards him, earning a shout from him. “Don't look at her. Look at me”.
You placed your hand over his, “let him go”. You spoke softly as if you cared for this speck of dirt that probably wouldn't spit on you if you were on fire. Why? Why do this for him when there are millions of other men out there you could be with? Men that would treat you 100x better than Trent had. Men that would shower you with the praises you deserve and stand by you loyally and ask about your day and do whatever other bullshit mortals do that Ares would do with you if he weren't a god.
Trent had you but he didn't deserve you. Area didn't have you but he deserved you. The idea of Ares deserving something instead of just being given it was strange and foreign and even though gods couldn't get headaches, this is the closest he's felt to it.
“Let him go” you repeated slowly.
“I should get somewhere high before I do”.
“Hilarious” you said, although he wasn't joking. “You're gonna hurt him”. That was the plan. “I'm being serious, Ares. Let him go”.
“And then?”
“Then you leave”. But he stays? You were willing to let this man get away with all he's done within your months of dating and shoo the father of your child away?
“I should kill him anyway. He knows too much”.
He was right. Mortals that didn't have demigods weren't supposed to know about the gods existence, so technically killing him wouldn't be completely out of left field. Technically he somewhat had the right to. That's what his deluded mind was telling him anyway. And even if the man on his knees didn't know what he did now, he still deserved a form of punishment.
Your minds seemed to be linked, because you shook your head at him, like you were telling him “no. Don't do that”. You crouched down in front of Trent who was still desperately trying to free his shoulder. “You want him to let go don't you?”
“Well obviously!”. Ares didn't like the attitude and he was going to push down hard enough to dislocate his shoulder, but you put your hand back on top of his and shook your head again.
“He will. First you have to swear to something. Make an oath. Swear that you'll never come back here. Swear that you'll never talk to me again and you'll never mistreat another woman again. Swear on the River Styx. If you break this oath, something terrible will happen. Won't it Ares?”. You looked up at him, expecting an answer. Ares didn't know the answer though. He knew what happened to gods and demigods but regular average civilians? He assumed it was something bad, but he didn't know how bad. Since he didn't have a solid answer, he just voiced what he wanted to do.
“If you break your oath, I'll find you. I'll tear your legs off so you can't run, then your arms so you can't crawl away. I'll give you medical attention so you don't die and I'll make your pathetic form into a punching bag for when I get bored and trust me, I get bored often”. Ares couldn't see how he looked but he knew he looked scary enough by the way the guy shuddered and looked away from him. He even started to cry, which Ares found ridiculous. He wasn't crying earlier. He was on top of the world thinking punishment wouldn't come and even now he wouldn't truly be punished.
The guy repeated everything you said in between disgusting sobs. He swore on the River Styx and Ares was sure he didn't even know what that truly meant. He just wanted to be let go. Ares didn't want to let go but after some more coaxing from you, he let go reluctantly. Trent ran out the house, still sobbing and holding onto his shoulder.
“Thanks for that” you said when you rose back to your feet, but it didn't sound like an actual thank you. You sounded annoyed. “He'll squeal but no one will believe him about being attacked by a god. He'll drive himself crazy or get himself sent somewhere. He'll always check for you behind him. Is that enough punishment for you?”. Ares wanted some sort of physical punishment right then and there, but he'd either deal with him when you weren't looking or decide this will do. Depended on his mood later on.
“Why'd you do that? Now he won't come back!”
“You made him swear never to come back”, but you didn't seem to like him pointing out that fact. You rolled your eyes,
“Yeah, because I knew you'd break him next time you saw him”. Good point, but why did you still want him around?
“You deserve better”
“And what's better? Someone like you? Someone who pops in from time to time? Someone our child hardly knows? If that's what I deserve, well… I guess I must not deserve much. Maybe I did something wrong in a past life”. Your words cut deep. They cut deep because you had a point. Ares put you in a terrible situation. A lonely one. He made you a single mother and although he didn't talk to mortals often, he was still able to pick up on how mortals felt about single mothers. The unnecessary shame that came with having a child but with no father, even if it wasn't their fault. A large chunk of the mistreated women he protected were single mothers themselves. There was an unnecessary amount of shame thrown onto their shoulders. They could've left a terribly abusive relationship, but all of it was still their fault. They were questioned why they couldn't just stick it out, because surely a child with no father was worse than a child with an abusive father who could “get better” if they just “stopped making problems”. He hated it. Now it was hitting him that he helped place this shame on your shoulders. He never said anything but he still decided to have a child with you even though he knew he'd never be able to stay. He wanted to say he made a mistake, but could it really be a mistake if it all meant he had you in his life even if it was only for fleeting moments?
“You don't need him” he got out finally but you had a counter.
“I need someone. I need someone here. I-I… listen I know Trent can be a handful but it's better to have a handful than nothing at all. You have no idea how lonely it gets and even with him it's still lonely because I can't talk to him about any of this stuff. Do you know how exhausting it is moving a child from school to school? Some schools won't even take her! Says she has disciplinary issues and I should do home schooling but how is that possible if I have to work so we don't end up on the streets?!” your voice got louder and if this was anyone else he'd make them apologize for raising their voice at a god. He didn't interrupt you though. Each word was like twisting a knife inside him and he figured that you should be able to decide when to pull it out.
“Other moms don't want their children anywhere near ours. They think she'll be a bad influence. Some of them aren't bold enough to say it, but I can tell what they're thinking! They treat her like some terrible disease their children will catch and I can't explain why she is the way she is! I can't say 'oh well her dad is a god and the monsters she draws are things she's seeing on the street and you can't see it but honestly she's in more danger than you’. I have to say 'they're just pictures. She's just creative!’ ” You began pacing and rubbing your hands together. “I'm alone and sometimes I don't wanna be alone. Having another adult here keeps the walls from closing in. Ugh. What type of mother am I? I can't explain any of this to my child and I can tell how alone she feels too. I think… I think I'm her only friend. She hears what people say about her. She thinks something is wrong with her. She thinks she's a burden. What eight year old thinks like this?”, You sat on the couch and put your head in your hands. “I'm a failure…”.
“Sad” wasn't the word Ares would use to describe how he felt. Maybe not even “sorrowful”. There had to be a better word to explain how he ached watching you fall apart. Ares wasn't good at personal talks, but he sat beside you and spoke
“You are not a failure”. It was simple, but he hoped it worked anyway.
You looked over at him with an expression he knew would be imprinted into his mind for eternity. “Then what am I?”.
He could go on and on about what you were and how much you meant, but he knew he didn't have much time. Zeus probably already knew he was here. He was nosey like that and he'd do anything to make sure everyone followed his lead. He wished he could tear him apart but Ares knew better than to voice any of the malicious thoughts he had or to try and harm him. Maybe a time would come, but it wasn't now.
“You're doing your best with the heavy burden I put on you”
“She's not a burden” you said quickly. “I'm just not sure what to do anymore. Everything I do seems like the wrong choice”. Ares wanted to approach a topic you seemed to despise but either he was predictable or that mind link was a real thing because next you said “No”.
“That camp-”
“Your family will mold her into what they want her to be and respectfully your family… uhh…” he got it. The gods didn't take kindly to insults and he wouldn't be surprised if you finished your sentence and then was magically turned into a pig.
“She needs to be a warrior. Camp will attempt to make her a warrior”. You didn't seem pleased.
He hated your stubbornness. He didn't watch other demigods as much, but even he knew their mortal mother's tended to die because of their own stubbornness. They'd refuse to send them to camp and when their child realized who they were and the monsters came running… well… there was a good chance everyday struggles wouldn't be a problem anymore.
“She'll realize at some point and you can't protect her”.
“I know” you admitted. The defeat was all over your face and in the heavy breath you took. You laid your head on his arm and intertwined your fingers together. “She's gone for tonight. She's staying with my mother down the street. She's the only one that takes her in sometimes. Can you stay over tonight?”.
“What are you suggesting?”
“You're the furthest thing from funny. I'm not having one of your kids again, are you insane?”. Although you said he wasn't funny, and he wasn't joking in the slightest, you both managed to laugh.
“Seriously, can you stay?”. The sky was clear and sunny but thunder rumbled.
If Ares was granted three wishes from a genie, he'd use all of them to watch Zeus die a horrible miserable death over and over again. What harm would one night do?
Well… a demigod could come out of one night but if Zeus didn't like it, he didn't have to watch.
He knew that argument wouldn't work and he didn't have to speak for you to know the answer. You scooted away from him and you took a sudden interest in the floor.
“I would if I could-”
“I know. I understand”. Another thing he hated about you. You were too understanding. He wanted you to scream at him. He wanted you to scream about how much you hated him and how he ruined you. He wanted you to swear at him and tell him to never step foot near you again. Anything that would make separating easier.
“Ares” you spoke, breaking the silence that filled the room. “If I agree to having her sent to camp, will you watch over her? Can you send one of those- what were they again? Oh! Satyrs. Can you send one of those and make sure they both get to camp safely?”
He didn't have to think. “Yes”.
“And claim her. Maybe not too soon though. I remember when I went to camp people got jealous when their parents would send them letters. I know my camp wasn't a god camp but you know what I mean. I just don't want her to catch unwanted attention”.
“Of course”
“Oh and one more thing. I know I'm asking for a lot but can you give me to the end of the school year. I don't know if she'll want to come back home or if it'll even be safe and-”
“You want time”. You didn't respond but he knew the answer. He knew how hard letting go would be for you and the thought that meeting you was a mistake crossed his mind again. You deserved to have a regular family and a regular husband that you had regular conversations with. Not this.
Thunder rumbled again.
“You have to go” you didn't sound like you wanted him to leave and he didn't want to leave either but he knew he had no choice. He stood up,
“I'll see you again. I promise”
“You've made enough promises, you don't have to do that. You can…” the words seemed like they burned to get out, “you can move on”.
He wanted to argue and say that he'd never truly move on from you. That you were the most memorable mortal he'd been with and he had no plans on leaving you be, but then he realized how selfish that was. Damming you to a life of sitting and waiting until he had time to see you. The thought of you sitting home alone waiting for any sign of him, signs that he wouldn't be able to give as often as you needed made him feel an immense amount of guilt.
“You make me an oath” he started, “I don't know what happens when mortals break an oath they make on the River Styx, so swear on anything that's important to you that you'll find a guy who deserves and appreciates you. Not another guy like before. Not some guy to fill in the empty space in here. I mean a man who will treat you right until you become just a memory”. Knowing he'd never be that man filled him with a burning sensation he couldn't quite explain. Some people would say “I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy” but Ares wasn't like that. He'd only wish this on his worst enemies. Not someone he got into an argument with, or someone he didn't like. Only the enemies that made him spit when he heard their name.
“I swear on our daughter” was all you said and it was all he needed to hear. He didn't give you a kiss or hug you goodbye. It'd make it too hard to leave. He just left. He closed the door behind him like nothing had happened and left you behind.
There was a small part of him that selfishly wanted you to break that oath because that'd mean he'd get to see you again, even if it was only to commit violence. The bigger part of him knew that was selfish. You needed to keep true to that oath, even if it would destroy him to watch you call someone else the love of your life eventually.
This could’ve been a heeheehaha jokey thing but I’m an asshole so here we are. I hope it’s clear that I write requests in the order I get them btw. This isn’t towards the anon, I’m just saying to everyone if a request is taking a hot minute I’m either ill, busy, or working on one that came before yours. I also try to do one requests a day to keep things spread out. Posting all the requests on one day will upset me and my homegirls.

Forgotten Island.
A few months ago I writed a one-shot under the same name for the first day of the zoluweek but it never satisfied me (or what i wanted to express trough it) so today at last I could bring it to be what I wanted.
Summary: Human kindness is his weakness. The love for the brother that he loved (more than anything) his sentence of an eternity of solitude and the joyous laugh of the swordsman the ache on his heart.
References: Ulysses is the hero of the odyssey and he passed through the island of the sirens in the book XII. The song is the same one that the sirens sang for him. Antemoesa is the name that virgilio, the poet, gived to the island of sirens.
Warnings: OOC, Ace dies even when i’m who is writing this.
Words: 2902
(If there’s any mispelling, i’m very sorry I get so nervous when i write in english )
(story under the cut)
You can also read it here [AO3] and here [FF]
Prologue
“I’ll do whatever you ask” the boy said in a broken tone, tears streaming down his face while he hold close the dead body of the brother he loved dearly “Take my life instead of his”
“Are you serious about your offer?” The supreme ruler of the gods, Zeus, asked with interest “even if I sentence you of a eternity in hell? is the life of this boy worthy to risk that much?”
“He’s worth more than Hell” the boy answered without a trace of doubt “I said it before, I’ll do whatever you ask… just bring Ace back, let him have a normal, happy life”
“You’re a brave kid, let’s make a deal” Zeus said looking to the boy, the 17 years old teenager who faced a war who costed too much “I will bring your brother back to earth and he will have a happy life without any memories of you”
“I understand” the boy said, bowing his head in utterly gratitude “Thank you very much”
“You don’t want to know the consequences for you?” Zeus asked and the boy denied moving his head
“I don’t need to know,” the teenager said, his lips touching the cold cheek in a kiss “If he lives is okay for me any punishment you put me trought”
The presiding deity of the universe laughed in a sardonic way, his eyes never leaving the black ones of the kid.
“Let’s see if that strong will of yours stay after you know what punishment I have in store for you”
. . .
“Humans are strange creatures, everything in this world is deadly for them and even knowing this they risk their lives doing things beyond their power” Zeus said in a tired sigh “They don’t know their own limits and sometimes they need a reminder of how little they are” The god touched the cheek of his new creation and it trembled and that's where your existence is necessary”
“You are no longer a fragile human, the best of the qualities of earth and sea are part of you now” The god said “You can walk in the land and bleed red blood if you’re hurt like any other human being; but you can breath under the water and swim with the ease of a fish. This island is now your domain in the middle of the sea where you will lure sailors to their early grave with your beautiful voice”
“Is a beautiful place” the boy answered, looking to the flowery meadows around him and taking seat in the rocks from where the vast sea extend
“Remember, Luffy” Zeus said, this time with fatality in his voice “In the end I couldn’t bring myself to tear you apart of that gentle heart of yours and that’s your weakness…don’t let humans aproach to you, it only will make you suffer”
“I understand” Luffy said, looking beetwen his hands, the one under the water have is fingers webbed and his other hand, the one that is resting in the ground is normal “Thank you for giving my brother another chance in life, he deserves to be happy”
“I will keep my promise” The supreme ruler of the gods swear “Keep yours, until the whole world ends”
[-]
He doesn’t keep a count of how many time has transpired nor how many humans he had seduced with his voice but Luffy’s hair is so long that it drags in the ground when he walks.
He sings about nothing and everything. With promises of treasures, of a city of gold and emeralds, of inmortality, of power and glory, of world knowledge, of food or of eternal love, anything the sailors truly desires in their hearts.
So he sings and sings, until nothing is left, until the sailors lost their minds or their ships capsize and they drown like rats.
(and he sings and sings and sings…)
[0]
“Come here,” he sang,”renowned Ulysses, honour to the Achaean name, and listen to my voice. No one ever sailed past me without staying to hear the enchanting sweetness of my song- and he who listens will go on his way not only charmed, but wiser, for I know all the ills that the gods laid upon the Argives and Trojans before Troy, and can tell you everything that is going to happen over the whole world.”
Luffy looked to the man, bound to the cross piece halfway up the mast and praying to be set free. His comrades rowing away from antemoesa, in a desesperate attempt to found their way back to home. Luffy laughs, because is amusing the human stubborness behind his actions and how this one is the first human in hundreds years in listen his voice without dying.
[1]
After several hundred years life in Antemoesa became boring. Is no wonder, after all it is a small island forgotten by the gods in the middle of the wide sea and whose exact location is only found in ancient texts in an already extinct language. He’s older than time but not as much as the creation, product of the boredom of the god who sought to mortify the humans who had the audacity to sail the seas belonging to Poseidon.
He can walk on land and breath under the water; If he’s hurt, his wounds bleed but his own tears are able to heal him. He can bring wisdom and knowledge to the humans but also can destroy them with his voice only. Luffy is no longer mortal, but a scourge of immortality, terrible, painful, wild and invincible but also doomed to spend the remaining time on earth in the flowery meadows of antemoesa waiting for new humans who seduce through his singing.
That’s the price Zeus demanded to pay to save the life of his older brother, whose freckled face that plague his dreams and his warm voice reminds him his own name in those days that he thinks that solitude is gonna make him lost his mind.
The conditions were simple and fair enough, seduce with his singing the sailors but never aproach to them because according to Zeus, human kindness is his weakness and it will end to be painful for a being like him.
(Because Luffy is not a human nor a fish. He can walk on land and breath under the water)
Not that it matters too much by now, hundreds of years have passed since the last time Luffy saw a human and sincerely, he doubts to see one in the coming hundreds of years he has remaining.
[2]
At first, when he saw the deplorable ship floating in his direction, he thought it was just another unfortunate ship that had crashed against the rocks or an old ship whose crew died in the midst of the treacherous sea and paid it no mind. The ship docked a few meter away from him and to his utter surprise he heard the sound of groans coming from the ship.
Without even thinking twice, Luffy got on his feet and held the human in his arms to laid him down on the sand, the man has a brutal wound that comes from the right side of his waist to his left shoulder, from where the blood seems to have ceased to sprout but would end up becoming infected if it is not taken care of.
Luffy knelt beside the human, buries his nails in his arms until small drops of blood begin to slide down his arms and tears make his vision cloud, he leans over the human and let his tears fall on the chest of the man whose wounds begin to heal leaving behind a huge scar.
“The first human who passes here after hundreds of years and is half dead," Luffy says in a sigh, looking at the human whose once laborious breathing has returned to normal. "You can’t seduce a half-dead man”
(Zeus advice rings loud in his mind but the now peaceful expression in the face of the human and the soft sounds of his earrings moving with the wind distracts him)
…
When the human wakes up three days later after his arrival he seems surprised to be alive and Luffy doesn't blame him after seeing the serious wound in the man’s chest. When Luffy dark eyes, black as night meet the intense silver eyes sharp as a sword, that an epiphany hits him like lightning, leaving him breathless.
Luffy sees the bright future that awaits this man who was born to obtain greatness and a title that positions him above all the others swordsman in the world.
But not yet – He still so weak, so fragile…
That if Luffy were to press a little he would collapse completely along with all that awaits for him in future.
(‘The man they know like Hawk-eyes found defeat by your hand,
the black sword that give you that scar and teared apart your pride,
Is not strong enough in the face of the three swords you carry on your right hip,
your name reachs to the heavens for a talented little girl who died too soon.’)
“You helped me?” the man ask, touching the scar on his chest with a wince
“Yes, but I don’t really did that much” Luffy responds, as if it were a matter of everyday that a creature like him saves stupid sailors from die of an infection
“My name is Roronoa Zoro” the human says, bowing his head lightly in a gesture of respect and gratittude “Thank you for helping me”
“How did you get that wound?” Luffy asks, curious to know how this man, Zoro, arrived in such a state to his domains
"Fighting for my dream," Zoro answers immediately, with a confident smile and a gleam in his eyes that the merman can identify, having already seen it in a human before.
(Another stubborn idiot, like Ulysses, maybe even worse because Luffy can’t bring himself to sing the destiny of this man)
“You must be hungry” Luffy says, with his thumb point the forest behind him “You can find fruits to eat if you walk a little around there”
The human nods, placing a hand on the scar that crosses his abdomen to rise and walk lazily in the opposite direction that the merman points
“It's to the other side, stultus!” Luffy shouts at Zoro, who looks embarrassed while now he walks to the right direction ‘I found a very troublesome human’ – Luffy sighs, defeated.
…
“Hey, Luffy, aren’t you a little too young to live alone in this island?” Zoro ask, hours later with the sun hide behind the clouds “did your boat dock here too?”
“I have more years than you'd know how to count or you could get to have” Luffy answered, taking an apple to bring it to his lips “This island belongs to me, was created by Zeus himself just for me”
Zoro laughs and shakes his head, believing it to be a joke on the part of the black-haired man, Luffy doesn’t bother to insist and simply shrugs.
[3]
With the passing of the days they are installed at a comfortable pace of coexistence, where Zoro would offer to go find things to eat and return to Luffy on the rocks where the dark-haired man sit for hours watching the sea while huming softly. Zoro usually remains silent, taking a nap or trying to annoy the merman to kill boredom.
“Why are you on this island, Luffy?" Zoro ask, Luffy doesn’t know how many times this absurd man will keep asking the same question “doesn’t it get kinda lonely?”
“I’m on this island to sing” Luffy replies, without taking his eyes off the sea as he tilts his head slightly as if trying to found another way to answer but decided against it “That’s all.”
"You're a strange child" Zoro replies, looking at him out of the corner of his eye for a reaction that soon arrives
“I told you, I'm older than you could imagine!” Luffy answers annoyed, no longer looking at the sea but the man next to him “You’re a diaper brat compared to me!”
“I don’t know” Zoro says, putting a hand on his chin as if he was seriously thinking about something “I would say that you are definitely a child and a very short one”
“Don’t make me hurt you, brat!” shouts Luffy, taking Zoro’s cheeks between his fingers and pulling it in a painful way “don’t get so cocky, I could kick your ass across to other side of this island”
Zoro laughs hard, putting a hand on his chest where his scar still hurts and without trying to remove Luffy’s hand of his cheek.
…
There are times when Zoro joins him and makes him company while watching the sea, the eyes of the human acquire a nostalgic glow as he watches the distant horizon, and it's in time like these where Luffy remembers that the dream and goals of Zoro are not in a place as boring as Antemoesa, but on the open sea fighting against powerful enemies that help him develop his skills until he becomes the best.
Every time Luffy is about to open his mouth to say something the human will simply watch him and start to annoy him about his height or age.
[4]
One night, meanwhile Luffy is trying to calm the fast beating of his heart after that damned nightmare who seems never leave him alone (a battlefield where they tried to achieve freedom, the sound of the cannons, the terrified screams of people dying, the fire consuming everything in his path and the cold body of the person he loved the most in this world). Zoro wakes up, sits beside him and begins to talk like he hadn’t doing before.
The human tells him how left his home searching to acomplish his dream, how he lost his way back; in a way that he couldn’t no longer get back and his only option would always be moving forward. Zoro speaks of the places he has seen, the things he has eaten, of a drink called sake that is the most delicious of the nectars and about some kind hearted humans and others not so much. He talks about a rival with empty cold-eyes and sword handled as it were a extension of the body of his rival, about an humiliating defeat because of his arrogance and his newfound determination to become even stronger when he leaves this island.
Zoro talks about a future together, for both of them, out in the vast sea searching to make their names reach heaven together, because they can go anywhere… the sea is freedom when you want it to be.
(He remember now, the painful but so warm gentle nature of humans)
Luffy can't leave, not because he doesn't wanna but because he made a promise so many (how many?) years ago, with a god for the sake of the brother who raised and protected him (who must be dead by now, but who cares, Ace was happy, he lived happy, that's all that matters.) yet he’s still holding that promise, until the whole world ends, until he dies and he welcomes the final end, singing.
Luffy makes a decision that night while he looked at the peaceful face of the swordsman.
. . .
When the sun comes out the next day and the swordsman wakes up, Zoro seems confused to see his boat in good condition.
“You have to go now” Luffy says, taking Zoro's face in his hands, his thumb touch soflty the strong jaw “Just follow right in direction of the sun for a few days and you’ll find dry land, your dream is far away from this place... you say you want your name reaches so high to be heard in heaven, then make the name of Roronoa Zoro be heard on this island too when you become the best swordsman in the world”
“What about you?” Zoro ask “You’re asking me to leave you here, alone? After everything I say to you yesterday?”
“I made a decision hundreds of years ago, which I don’t regret, and if I left this island, I would be breaking my promise” Luffy explains, the human has a frown in his face and is ready to argue when the merman interrupts him again “You know the valor of a promise and after all I have been hundreds of years alone… please don’t pity me”
Zoro seems to think what to say before a smug smile forms on his lips “When I become the best swordsman in the world I will come back and stay with you, so we will both fulfill the promises we have made”
Zoro says, wrapping Luffy in a unexpected hug that last too little for Luffy’s taste (how many years had passed since the last time he felt the touch, the warm of another body against his?) the swordsman turns his back on him and begins to move away towards the ship on the shore, climb on it and begin to row away, without looking back even once while with every movement of the waves that move the ship, Luffy's heart sinks a little more because he knows that it is not a promise that Zoro can fulfill.
END.

My Issues With OUAT
Alright guys, you know I have issues with A&E’s mess of a show. I love it, but I am disappointed at how they decided to write it. It’s full of dropped storylines, plotholes, underdeveloped characters, OOC characters, overused plot devices, you name it. So I decided to list all my issues with the show, and maybe I’ll give my solutions in a different post. Here we go (I’ll edit this if I miss any)
Season 1:
Curse broke too quickly. And I think that’s where the trouble started- once they reached this point, they had no idea where to go with it. Knowing that the Black Fairy is the supreme evil, I’d introduce her here in some capacity, so we can develop and build up to the final battle properly- especially as she is vital to the Dark Curse mythos. Put backstory of Blue and Fiona here as well- we get more info on fairy culture and start the “shady blue fairy” thing.
Realms fully explored here: Enchanted Forest, Wonderland, Fairy Realm, Atlantica (mermaids)
Villains- Regina, Rumple, Black Fairy, Blue Fairy, Cora
Season 2:
They killed Cora off too soon. That’s my main gripe here, there’s so much more they could have done with Cora- have her linger in SB longer so there would be more Regina and Cora development (hell, Snow included). We could have incorporated OUATIW here, when Regina questions what she’s been up to in Wonderland. We get more detail of Cora’s ruling years as the Queen of Hearts (including Alice meeting Cora). Cora lives on as a villain- mother/daughter time. Regina discovers the Cora/Rumple affair, so that can be explored as well.
Emma and Snow going to the EF: more could be done here, including a full background of Mulan and Aurora (Maleficent too, including Lily’s father). Cora again, chance to develop her character.
Blue gets more screentime- more buildup of Fiona
Along with Frankenstein, Dracula comes into play as well.
Also the finale- there should be consequences of Regina’s electroshock torture. No mention of nerve damage? Really?
Realms explored: Storybrooke, Enchanted Forest, Wonderland, Atlantica, Fairy Realm
Villains- Same as season 1, plus Maleficent
Season 3:
Zelena. Oh man Zelena. We get the wicked witch, but such a dumb backstory. We’re gonna fix this- develop her character more, give her way more screentime. Introduction of the Zades relationship. Cora again with Zelena- but different father. For Zelena to be so powerful, she could have a father like Merlin. This could tie in Camelot.
Neverland arc- Yeah um let’s make Neverland look more like Neverland, yeah? Plotwise, Robbie is excellent, but I feel we need something extra going on here. Not sure what- maybe Tink and the mermaids get more focus?
Oz arc- More development of Oz culture. Why is magic so taboo here as opposed to the EF?
Regina Vs. Zelena- an actual witch fight. One that takes more than 5 seconds.
Robin Hood- Backstory. Outlaw Queen. Like, Sherwood Forest, Nottingham, etc. Also soulmate thing- maybe Robin and Regina have met in the past and Rumple made them forget?
Oh yeah. Regina puts herself under the sleeping curse this time, and Robin has to wake her. This is how the soulmate thing ties in.
Time travel plot- same, except Marian is not brought back.
More development of the Missing Year- Outlaw Queen galore.
Realms explored: Neverland, Enchanted Forest, Oz, Underworld (Zades), Camelot (Zelena’s origins as the daughter of Merlin)
Villains: Regina, Zelena, Cora, Rumple, Black Fairy, Hades
Season 4:
Dark One mythos origin here due to Rumple’s plot. Everything stays the same, but we go into the origins more. Nimue/Merlin, and all the other dark ones get a small backstory so we know the full history of all their shenanigans, and how absorbing the powers of all the previous dark ones affects Rumple. With Merlin, he creates Excalibur and defeats Nimue and all that, but here we see him in his mansion mourning the loss of Zelena- the daughter stolen from him. His mission is to find her- we understand more about Zelena’s unique powers. Her breaking the laws of time travel magic is a big deal.
The author mythos is explained better here as well. Henry gets more to do, is actually important as the author.
Frozen arc- Not much changes, but Ingrid doesn’t die. Instead, she’s Cora’s third daughter- conceived after Regina due to a safety measure. Cora was unsure if Regina would take the throne, so she went after Arendelle’s royal line. The ice magic comes from a blend of Cora’s magical genetic line and the King of Arendelle’s nordic genes. Ingrid meets Regina and Zelena, they bond. Ingrid becomes Queen of Arendelle after her release from the urn.
Fiona and Blue continuation of story as a subplot, more buildup to final battle
Maleficent arc- Focus on Lily/Lily’s father. Interaction with Regina in the past/present, her own storyline with Aurora. Ursula and Cruella stay the same.
ZLENA WAS NEVER MARIAN. No baby drama, no love triangle mess. Good lord.
Cora is still around being Cora.
Heroes and Villains AU- we give this more than one episode. Maybe explore how Regina dying for Henry affects Robin
Regina becomes the Dark One instead of Emma. This triggers Cora’s remorse at how she treated her daughter, once she sees what the curse is doing to her. Zelena and Ingrid both are determined to save their sister. Robin gets more of a role. Rumple/Henry/Emma/Charmings involved
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention ships. Outlaw Queen is a big focus, as well as Zades, Snowing, Rumbelle, and yes, Captain Swan.
Realms explored: Atlantica (Ariel/Ursula), Enchanted Forest, Camelot, Arendelle, Fairy Realm, Oz
Villains- Cora, Regina, Black Fairy, Zelena, Ingrid, Rumple, Maleficent, Hades
Season 5:
Camelot arc- the gang has to go the Camelot to find Merlin and save Regina from the darkness- she’s gone worse than EQ mode. Wearing more exposed outfits, etc. Merlin finally meets Zelena, tells her of her potential for true light, as he was responsible for the Dark One curse and she is the counter to it. She is the one that can save Regina. Cue Zelena redemption! Morgana Le Fay is introduced as Cora’s mother!
Arthur is an ass. Hits on Regina, tells her that if she hooks up with him she won’t be burned at the stake for being a witch (magic is outlawed in Camelot)
We see how the darkness continues to consume Regina- Epic Outlaw Queen development (Dark Outlaw Queen at first, then Robin protects her from the witch hunters). Zelena breaks the curse on her sister.
These witch hunters are good at what they do- in the midst of it all, they kidnap Zelena (they sense something different about her magic). She is held captive somewhere in Camelot- discovers they wanted her for the demigod baby she carries.
Underworld arc- We meet Hades, who is in a rage over the kidnapping of his wife. He summons a portal to Camelot and sucks everyone else to the Underworld. Everyone else finds out about Zades, and it is revealed to them that she’s pregnant. He asks them to get Zelena back. We get Hades backstory on Olympus and meet other gods like Zeus, Poseidon, Athena, etc. What Hades’ life has been like pre-Zelena, character backstory. Other gods have a bigger role- maybe the gang ends up on Olympus somehow?
They find Zelena, but she’s in bad shape. Close to death. The only way to heal her is ambrosia- she becomes a goddess (because would Hades have let her stay mortal, for her to eventually die and for him to be alone again? No.)
Regina has to deal with meeting the souls of her victims and apologizing for everything.
Subplot- Merida and Mulan backstory! We visit Imperial China and Dun’Broch, how did Mulan become a mercenary?
Realms visited: Underworld, Camelot, Oz, Enchanted Forest, Dun’Broch (Merida)
Villains- Regina, Zelena, Ingrid, Cora, Hades, Rumple, Black Fairy, Arthur
Season 6:
Origin of the dark curse is the same, but now that we’ve been building Fiona’s story for 6 seasons, this is actual payoff. Blue is shady AF. Lots of time spent at the fairy realm.
Rumple family drama with Gideon/Fiona/Henry
Land of Untold Stories- we explore this more.
Wish realm- We spend more time here too. except that actual Robin gets sucked up with Regina and they encounter the banished, older queen locked up.
Split Queen- only difference here is that Regina becomes whole again and takes the EQ back inside her, becoming one person again, learning to deal with her darkness. OUTLAW QUEEN WEDDING Y’ALL (and eventual pregnancy)
Regina is pregnant! Praise the gods! (both Mills women are pregnant at the same time- cue comedic relief). Ingrid/Cora/Regina/Zelena finally feel like a family unit.
Final Battle time- This is it. The culmination of 6 seasons and it’s hella epic. Fiona casts her curse because she’s just plain evil, and its chaos. The realms are collapsing, and everyone has to step up and save them. We go to each realm and save it like in Kingdom Hearts, Regina’s castle is the Traverse Town hub. There’s at least an hour long battle between everyone else and Fiona- think Battle of Hogwarts/Helms Deep from LOTR rolled into one. It’s one giant magic battle with swords and bows and fireballs and it’s epic. It takes a lot to bring Fiona down. But she is defeated eventually.
Epilogue- Everyone goes back to the Enchanted Forest. Regina and Robin rule as King and Queen, welcome a daughter. Snow and Charming are no longer the main royal line with the birth of Regina’s daughter. Zelena is Empress of Oz, visits Hades in the Underworld and her sister in the EF, has a daughter. (Cora’s magical bloodline can only have daughters). Ingrid is Queen of Arendelle, etc. Henry and Emma invent a way to have easy portal hopping, so that people can cross realms back to Storybrooke with ease. There. No season 7 nonsense.
Whew! that was long!
Season 7: NOT ENCHANTED FOREST VERSION 2
ok, so I I know I said this wouldn’t contain season 7, but this last episode gave me an idea. Regina and Robin are ruling in the Enchanted Forest, like where I left off with season 6, but all is not well. Somewhere in the kingdom, a witch named Oriana Gothel is stirring up trouble, creating the Coven of the Eight.
Why? Well, Gothel thinks the magical balance of light and dark needs to be restored after Fiona’s defeat- the practice of dark magic has become nonexistent in the Enchanted Forest as a result of Regina’s reign. Deciding to “restore balance to the force”, she recruits 7 promising dark witches for the coven, with the goal of resurrecting Fiona. Fiona’s her idol- the darkest of them all. With Fiona back, Gothel believes that a new world order will be established and things will be as they should (think Voldemort and his view of purebloods, but replace that with dark witches/wizards).
Obviously, Regina/Cora/Ingrid/Zelena aren’t going to stand for this, but this doesn’t stop Gothel from trying to recruit them. The Mills family is going to have to team up once again, this time with the forces of Oz, Camelot, and Arendelle behind them. The stakes are high, with young children to protect from Gothel’s greedy hands.
Subplot 1: Rapunzel (Megan Warner). Rapunzel has 2 daughters and a loving husband, but she has magic, was the first person approached by Gothel. When Rapunzel refuses to join the coven, she’s locked in the tower. Victoria Tremaine (Gabrielle Anwar) is recruited instead. We find out that Victoria is Cora’s sister.
Subplot 2: Tiana and Dr. Facilier. The voodoo doctor is very interested in Gothel’s plan, offers her his help in finding recruits.
Subplot 3: Rumple and The Guardian. The Guardian will be someone that can withstand the Dark One curse without going insane- he searches to find the person that he can finally pass the Dark One curse off to. However, things are complicated when he finds out that Mommy Dearest is awake.
Realms visited: Enchanted Forest, Oz, Camelot, possibly Underworld
Villains: Gothel, Fiona, Facilier
General gripes:
* More Regina backstory that’s not her searching for Snow. What was her marriage like in the early years? What was her relationship with her mother/father growing up a princess? What if her and Zelena met more than that once?
* More development of characters like Aurora, Cinderella, Ruby, etc.
* No more character assassinations- like seriously, Emma, Regina, Snow, Belle, and Rumple’s characters were all destroyed
* Too many memory curses. Like seriously, no more.
*No more recycled plots for Rumple/Rumbelle
* Development of Zelena. True development- not just some flashbacks of her being jealous of Regina. More time building up Zades. Zelena spends time with Henry being his aunt.
* No musical. Just unnecessary, and doesn’t fit the tone of the show.
* Timeline disaster- we establish a solid, concrete timeline. No more “many years ago” and conflicting flashbacks.
* Maleficent- Nothing against Kristin, but what the hell did they do to Maleficent? She’s not as evil as she was in the movie
* More effort put into magic battles- think Harry Potter level of CGI and effort
* Regina’s redemption- this could be handled better- you can’t redeem someone that doesn’t regret killing hundreds of people, and still has a vault full of hearts
* explanation of magic/laws of magic.
* actual sex scenes- not quite HBO levels but almost.
*More magical creatures- we have werewolves, so where are the vampires?
If I missed anything, or if I can improve on things, let me know!

Forgotten island [Fantasy AU]
Day 1 of the Zoluweek2k17, Fantasy Au: Merman Luffy and human Zoro.
Hi, i wanted to take part of this week so badly that I ignored how much I suck on english, bc is not my first lenguage and even when I can read it without trouble when it comes down to write long things I get a little nervous = a lot of failures. So, if there any misspelling i’m very very sorry ;_; and i hope this counts as fantasy
some facts about this one shot: Antemoesa was the place where mermaids habited (well virgilio, the poet, says so) and there is a the oddyssey reference too. Luffy is very old but look young, he is a fatalist (because he has seen so much and being in solitude for so many years tends to mold you in that way) but still is very hard too think about luffy like that so a very ooc luffy
Warnings: ooc, and none other mayor warning, this pretty sane oneshot in my standars
[1]
After several hundred years life in Antemoesa became boring. I’ts no wonder, after all it is a small island forgotten by the gods in the middle of the wide sea and whose exact location is only found in ancient texts in an already extinct language. He’s older than time but not as much as the creation, product of the boredom of the gods who sought to mortify the humans who had the audacity to sail the seas belonging to Poseidon.
He can walk on land and breathe underwater; If he is hurt, his wounds bleed but his own tears are able to heal him; He can bring wisdom and knowledge to humans but can also destroy them for no reason at all. Luffy is no longer mortal, but a scourge of immortality, terrible, painful, wild and invincible but also doomed to spend the remaining time on earth in the flowery meadows of antemoesa waiting for new humans who seduce through his singing.
That is the price that Zeus demanded to pay to save the life of his older brother, whose face has forgotten over the centuries but whose warmth still remembers vividly. The conditions were simple, seduce with his singing the humans who listen but never approached near enough to be affected by them, according to Zeus, sometimes humans can be kind and this is painful for beings like him.
(Because Luffy is not a human nor a fish. He can walk on the ground and breathe underwater)
Not that it matters too much by now, hundreds of years have passed since the last time Luffy saw a human and sincerely, he doubts to see one in the coming hundreds of years he has remaining.
[2]
At first, when he saw a deplorable ship floating in his direction, he thought it was just another unfortunate ship that had crashed against the rocks or an old ship whose crew died in the midst of the treacherous sea, but to his utter surprise he heard the sound of groans Coming from the ship, without even thinking twice he dived into the sea and swam until he was next to it, where a human man struggled to breathe.
Clutching the railing with all his strength, he began to move his fin quickly, dragging the boat with him to the edge of the beach where his tail turned into two legs when they make contact with the sand. He held the human in his arms and laid him down on the sand, knelt beside him and removed those strange clothes that covered his chest where now stands a brutal wound that comes from the right side of his waist to his left shoulder , From where the blood seems to have ceased to sprout but would end up becoming infected if it is not taken care of.
Luffy buries his nails in his arms until small drops of blood begin to slide down his arms and tears make his vision cloud, he leans over the human and let his tears fall on the chest of the man whose wounds begin to heal leaving behind a huge scar.
The first human who passes here after hundreds of years and is half dead," Luffy says in a sigh, sitting down next to the human whose once laborious breathing has returned to normal. "You can’t seduce a half-dead man.”
Luffy sighs again, defeated, while the human emits snoring sounds with both arms scattered at the height of his head, without any concern that he was about to die and that his salvation has been what many call the voice of the doom of the Seas.
…
When the human wakes up three days after his arrival he seems surprised to be alive and not that Luffy blamed him after seeing the serious wound in the man’s chest. When his dark eyes, black as night meet the intense green eyes sharp as a sword, that an epiphany hits him like lightning, leaving him breathless. He sees the bright future that awaits this man who was born to obtain greatness and a title that positions him above all the other swordsman in the world which falls comfortably on his shoulders, as if it couldn’t have been otherwise.
But noy yet - He still so weak, so fragile … that if Luffy were to press a little he would collapse completely along with all that awaits for him in future.
“You helped me?” the human asks with a frown
“Yes, but I don’t really did that much” Luffy responds easily taking away importance, as if it were a matter of everyday that a creature like him saves stupid sailors to die of an infection
“My name is Roronoa Zoro” the human says, bowing his head lightly in a gesture of respect and gratittude “Thank you for helping me”
“How did you get that wound?” Luffy asks, curious to know how this man, Zoro, arrived in such a state to his domains
"Fighting for my dream," Zoro answers immediately, with a confident smile and a gleam in his eyes that the merman can identify, having already seen him before in a human. Like that stubborn man, Odysseus, which was tied to the mast of his ship so as not to succumb to the charms of his voice because he was fully convinced to return home.
“There you can find fruits to eat” says Luffy raising his arm to point the forest a couple of meters beyond
The human nods, placing a hand on the scar that crosses his abdomen to rise and walks lazily in the opposite direction that the merman points
“It's the other side, stultus!” Luffy shouts at Zoro, who looks embarrassed while now if he walks in the indicated direction “I found a very troublesome human” Luffy sighs, defeated.
“Aren’t you a little too young to live alone on this island? Did you get lost at sea or something?” Zoro ask, hours later with his arms crossed under his head looking to the sky
Luffy can’t help laugh, he doesn’t remember how much time has passed since the last time he did it and the human looks confused
“I have more years than you'd know count or you could get to have” Luffy answered, taking an apple to bring it to his lips “This island belongs to me, was created by Zeus himself just for me”
Zoro looks at him incredulously as he shakes his head, believing it to be a joke on the part of the black-haired man, Luffy does not bother to insist and simply shrugs.
[3]
With the passing of the days are installed at a comfortable pace of coexistence, where Zoro would offer to go find things to eat and return with Luffy on the cliff where the dark-haired sit for hours watching the sea while singing softly. Zoro usually remains silent, taking a nap or trying to annoy the merman to kill boredom
"Why are you on this island, Luffy?" - Asks Zoro, with both arms under his head while looking at the sky “doesn’t get kinda lonely?”
"I'm on this island to sing," Luffy replies, not taking his eyes off the sea as he tilts his head slightly as if trying to see something beyond “that's all.”
"You're a strange child," Zoro replies, looking at him out of the corner of his eye for a reaction that soon arrives
“I tell you, I'm older than you could imagine!” answers Luffy annoyed, no longer looking at the sea but the man next to him “You’re a child compared to me!”
“I don’t know” says Zoro, sitting and putting a hand on his chin as if he was seriously thinking about something “I would say that you are definitely a child and a very short one”
“Don’t make me hurt you, brat!” shouts Luffy, completely forgetting his composure and pouncing on the human who only laughs at the hilarious reaction of the raven
…
There are times when Zoro joins him and makes him company while watching the sea, the eyes of the human acquire a nostalgic glow as he watches the distant horizon, it is then when Luffy remembers that the dream and goals of Zoro are not in A place as boring as Antemoesa, but on the open sea fighting against powerful enemies that help him develop his skills until he becomes the best but every time he is about to open his mouth to say something the human will simply watch him and start to annoy him about his height or age.
…
One night, meanwhile Luffy is looking at the sea, Zoro sits beside him and begins to talk.
The human tells him how left his home in search of his dream, how he lost his way back and in a way that he couldn’t no longer get back and his only option would always be moving forward. He speaks of the places he has seen, the things he has eaten, of a drink called sake that is the most delicious of the nectars and about some kind humans and other not so much. He talks about a rival with empty cold eyes and sword handled as it were a extension of his rival body, about an humiliating defeat because of his arrogance and his newfound determination to become even stronger when he leaves this island.
He talks about a future together, both of them, out in the vast sea searching to make their names reach heaven together, because they can go anywhere… the sea is freedom when you want it to be.
(that is what Zeus had mean, the painful but so warm gentle nature of humans)
but he can’t leave, not because he doesn’t wanna but because he made a promise so many years ago for a brother whose face he doesn’t remember anymore yet he’s still holding that promise, until he dies, until the whole world ends and he welcomes the final end singing.
Luffy makes a decision that night while he look the peaceful face of the swordsman.
…
When the sun comes out the next day and the swordsman wakes up, stretching his arms and yawning is that Luffy asks him to follow him, after walking in silence they reach the shore of the beach where Zoro seems confused to see his boat in good condition.
“You have to go now” The merman says, taking a step forward and taking the swordsman's face in his hands “Just follow right in direction of the sun for a few days and find dry land, your dream is far from this place... you say you want your name reaches so high to be heard in heaven, then make the name of Roronoa Zoro be heard on this island too when you become the best swordsman in the world”
“What about you?” Question Zoro “Will you stay here, alone?”
“I made a decision hundreds of years ago, which I do not regret, and if I left this island, I would be breaking my promise” Luffy explains, the human has a frown ready to argue when the merman interrupts him again “I have been hundreds of years alone… please don’t feel sorry for me”
Zoro seems to think what to say before a smug smile forms on his lips
“When I become the best swordsman in the world I will come back and stay with you, so we will both fulfill the promises we have made”
he says, wrapping him in an unexpected hug that lasts too little for Luffy's taste, the swordsman turns his back on him and begins to move away towards the ship on the shore, to climb and begin to row, without looking back even once while hile with every movement of the waves that move the ship, Luffy's heart sinks a little more because he knows that it is not a promise that Zoro can fulfill.
End.
