🚨BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA CHAPTER 429 SPOILERS ALERT!🚨

This is chapter kinda upset me cause the plot was interesting but too rushed... anyway...

Uraraka blamed herself to being the cause of Toga's death. Yeah... now it is totally confirmed...

Deku ran to her but she didn't want him to come near here. She tried to cover her face for not showing she was crying. At first, she thought she was alone, crying her soul out, so she asked how Deku knew she was there and how he came here...

Deku tried to rassure her, called her his hero for all the things she did for him and he offered his hand to put her heart at ease.

Both of them shared their regrets of Toga's and Shigaraki's death, not being able to save them,...

Uraraka cries harder and Deku started to cry...

My gosh! They need therapy!...

The rest of the class came

Tsuyu litterally pushed Deku away to hug Uraraka.

Deku felt his little ember, Bakugou asked about it to him and some of the class 2A asked why he didn't tell them about it!

Monoma has statue like some of them.

And we can see Aoyama's goodbye party and little cutie Eri singing like a rockstar!

Everyone look so happy!

Look like Tenko! Maybe it was him!

Grandma's redemption?

Don't know and don't care but happy she learned something and did just like Deku did that day, everyone felt like they needed to do something. She told him: “It's fine now, because grandma's here”

The boy looks at the old lady and starts to cry.

Chapter end with Deku and Uraraka smiling for real now.

But he only erased Yoichi instead, by trying to steal what was left? And the incomplete Factor couldn't be stolen, because of how miniscule it was?

One last MHA meta for the road.

The epilogue was spelled out for us from the beginning. Like, we were explicitly told how it’s gonna go down.

The first thing we see is a panel about how the wind is blowing which has always been a metaphor for change, and how one small impact could change the world.

We move onto izuku and all might talking about how izuku couldn’t save Tenko’s life, but he did save his soul by shattering his hatred.

There’s a panel mentioning that what matters is what you do tomorrow, and how you continue to do your best even in the wake of great personal tragedy. The personal tragedy in this case is Izuku’s loss, he couldn’t save Tenko’s life.

Cut to Kacchan dramatically showing up right as izuku mentions the ember of ofa. Now, here’s my question: if ofa was gone for good, would the ember even still remain? I’m not sure but it’s worth noting. We are both told and shown this ember multiple times in the epilogue.

This entire page is important. It lays the foundation of hard work again, that you don’t get things easily even after the “big battle.” It also lays out the epilogue’s order of events.

We start with the Todoroki family where touya is doomed to a machine for the rest of his waning life. Then we move onto spinner who is deeply grieving Tenko’s life and has a personal vendetta against izuku now. Then ochako who is faking a smile while holding onto her grief over toga. Then onto the pain that both her and izuku are sharing over the loss of their villains’ lives.

This all culminates to a moment where class 2A shows up to comfort them both, and izuku reflects on how even in the wake of this tragedy they must always do their best to stop it from happening again for someone else.

This is also physically shown with a Tenko look-alike who was teased from the beginning. We get a moment where he is saved by the very person who left Tenko, and a moment showing that Izuku’s do-your-best attitude spurred her to action.

Now you’re thinking, “how does this show how it’s all going to end?” Well, that’s what chapter 425 was for.

Exhibit A: Mirio’s graduation speech. He gives an example that they lost a lot during that fight, and are striving to bring it back from -1 to 0. They’re not there yet, and it will take time, but that’s the goal.

They’re not at 0 if they lost the people they tried to save.

Exhibit B: Fuwa’s “taste of death” monologue. They needed to experience death to understand why they need to work hard as heroes. She’s talking about being expelled, but in Izuku’s case it’s tenko’s death.

And how did that end for Fuwa’s class? After being expelled and learning their lesson they got to rejoin UA again as students.

If izuku follows that pattern, and it does seem he’s learned his lesson from this literal death, then perhaps he too will be rewarded for his work.

Here’s where things get vague and I’m just guessing at this point. This epilogue has been deeply sad and unsatisfying. There’s no reprieve. We’re due for that, right?

What if Tenko was able to unlock the restoration part of overhaul’s quirk and rebuild himself? Wouldn’t he be able to rebuild both society and the villains? Technically he also has OFA. Wouldn’t he be able to give that back to izuku?

These rewards only mean something if the heroes work for them and continue to strive to do better in the future.

The villains also never truly got a chance to atone the way endeavor and aoyama did. Killing them wouldn’t fix this. But bringing them back to a society that has been shown to be kinder? So they can also work hard for a future that they fit into?

That feels very Plus Ultra to me!

Imagine. Repairing the vestiges means that OFA would be back, but they are inside the void within Tomura's body that is in AFO's control which means they would probably be absorbed by AFO

Except they wouldn't be, if they instead found another vessel

What if Tomura somehow manifests or recovers the reconstruction part of his quirk and that's how OFA can come back? The vestiges shattered and usually when something shatters only shards are left, so is it possible for them to be put back together, even if it's only for a brief time?

okay so bakugou got got right we all know that, shigaraki fucked up his arm, bakugou said “oh I know what I gotta do” and did a good attack on shiggy but his heart exploded </3 and he died but edgshot said “nuh uh” and used his body to stitch it back up and then deku was late to the party and didnt even have time to be bummed out about bakugou’s corpse cause he has to fight shigaraki and then somewhere else afo does stuff blah blah blah and snatches hawks quirk (rip) and then takes off to join shigafo in that fight but all might says “not on my watch” and intercepts him and they duke it out and all this time afo is getting younger cause he used something made from eris quirk so he could keep duking it out with endeavour and that gang so he’s like a teen fighting poor old man all might who used all his savings to by himself a mech suit but it’s not going so hot for him and stain shows up to take on afo with all might but afo still wins and is about to finish off all might when bakugou starts up his own heart with his explosive sweat and makes really fruity eye contact with deku and with the power of friendship deku pauses his fight with shigafo to launch bakugou towards afo and bakugou saved all might and goes “dawg who’s this kid I’m about to beat the shit out of” and all might says “that’s afo” and bakugou goes to beat the shit out of toddler afo and succeeds because afo finally benjamin buttons out of existence but the whole balugou’s arm looks like seconds away from falling off, then after a long day of fighting bakugou takes a well deserved nap and we go back to deku v shigafo and it’s not going well for deku he’s trying to break through to tenko but he’s not getting anywear and then shigaraki steals danger sense and it gets even worse but second user goes “wait ! What if we attack him with psychic damage, give shigaraki ofa and we’ll beat the shit out of his mind so you can do your thing” amd deku is very sad but agrees and then after he goes punches all of the ofa vestiges into shigaraki they end up in his mind palace and little deku holds little tenko hand even though it’s disintegrating his own and this is where we think “wow he truly won with the power of friendship” but no !! He did not ! The afo vestige that loves in shigaraki’s mind comes out and evil laughs and says “you idiot I’ve been behind all the awful missrable things that happened your whole life ! I convinced your dad to have you, I took your og quirk away and gave you half of an ability that should have let you destroy and recreate but only gave you the destructive part because I am evil and you are too because I made you that way” and shigaraki goes :0 ?!1?;& and dissolves because afo cast vicious mockery and got a nat20 dealing double damage. We then exit shigaraki’s mind and deku has no arms !! But behind him avengers endgame style, heroes amass and aizawa steps out of the portal and goes “damn sorry midoriya if only I’d come like a minute earlier now you’re armless </3” but ! He tosses deku eri’s horn because eri havked it off herself to give to deku to save him and deku’s arms start growing back :D at the same time, afo has fully taken over shigaraki’s body and i like “haha tomura is no more it’s just me now” but he’s super bummed out because his vestige brother is gone as well and he’s like “damn what even is the reason for doing anything anymore :// I guess I’ll still kick ur ass or whatever but I’m kinda apathetic about taking over the world now” but while deku gave away ofa he still has some of the embers and with the power of froendship once more, he dodges afo’s attacks and punches him super duper hard, and we see shigaraki again :D and yoichi :00 and yoichi says sone shit to afo and shigaraki turns to deku like “this was truly our hero academia :) tell spinner I love him” and deku says “sure dawg” and they fist bump and stuff

tldr: deku gave up ofa to save shigaraki and bakugou’s arm is super super messed up which is very fun

HORIKOSHI YOU ARE A DAMN GENIUS!!!

Izuku said He Feels at Ease When Someone Holds His Hand.

Now we know that All for One is a Quirk capable of stealing or copying other Quirks and transferring them to whoever he wants or keeping them and using them if the user wants and we also know that he gave his supposedly Quirkless brother a gift of power accumulation… ok? Well that's when I saw this…

"Just holding hands soothes the heart."

Izuku says again that the simple act of holding hands calms the heart because it works for him, holding hands with his friends calms him down and makes him feel good.

Well, so far so good.

That's where THIS comes in…

It is then that Izuku can somehow feel the embers rekindling.

When his other friends arrive, Kacchan walks in and asks Izuku about the embers... "They flew you over here, but… are the embers okay?"

To which Izuku replies "Yeah" Because yes, the embers are so good that they burn again... And no, it was not the "Magic of Friendship" nor the "Power of Love" nor the "Izuocha"

then I was like...

Naniiiii? But what the hell happened here?! and I remembered the following...

Yeap! Izuku's hands in volume 417, and that's when it occurred to me that what a fucking genius Horikoshi-sensei is.

Well, now we all know that AFO steals quirks by touching his victims with his hands due to the holes in them that seem to absorb said quirks, right? ok, have you figured out where I'm going?… AFO is Izuku's father! YES!

So even though here it doesn't look like Izuku has the same holes as AFO, there does seem to be light in what would appear to be said holes, but that's because instead of absorbing Quirks, Izuku only absorbs energy, like the Quirk that AFO imposed on his brother stores energy and like AFO absorbs said power! So if when Izuku touched Uraraka's hand he absorbed part of the power of her quirk to revive the embers, wouldn't that mean that Izuku inherited AFO's mutated quirk somehow? Well you can say that Izuku would need the holes to absorb the power but do we remember what his mother Inko's quirk is? Attraction of small objects and she uses the movement of her hands to attract them, so if we add both quirks Izuku wouldn't need the holes, it would be a combination, and he would attract the power of the quirks just by putting his hands on people. And again you could refute me, "But Izuku has touched a lot of people with his hands" and I'll answer, Yes, but he was wearing gloves and it seems like he only activated his quirk recently in volume 417 of the manga by the looks of it since it's the first time those lights appeared on his BARE hands WITHOUT gloves, so Horikoshi, you damn genius, is this your way of revealing Dad For One in a plot twist at the end of the manga? Or am I just overthinking it?! Whatever it is, I'm happily sticking with this DFO theory!

MHA ending drabbles #2

I’m gonna disagree with the folks who say that our main heroes and villains didn’t “close out their character arcs.” Of all the possible criticism, I just don’t get this one because:

Izuku became the greatest hero, even if he only held OFA embers for a short while afterwards

Bakugo saved All Might, admitted to Izuku that he wanted them to stay in the same orbit together, AND selflessly worked with All Might on the new suit for Izuku.

Ochako had a heart to heart talk. She also proved that she is capable of handling the most brutal of fights, as acknowledged by Izuku (and to some extent, the rest of 1A).

Shoto saved his entire family and all the surrounding civilians with his ice because he chose to, free of his father’s influence

Tomura got a few brief moments completely free of AFO’s interference. Not only that, he got to share those moments with Izuku and tell Izuku what was really, truly in his heart

Toya destroyed his father’s hero career and now gets to spend the rest of his life in purgatory with Enji. He also gets a chance to build relationships with his other family members, and at least Shoto is interested

Himiko’s greatest fear was being caught and forced to live in ways that went against her nature. She didn’t want to be a martyr; she simply wanted to be free to make her choices. She chose to die saving Ochako

Spinner wanted a purpose, and he found it in writing his book

Moreover, to the extent anything was left unfinished after the final battle, the epilogue tied it up. Izuku wanted to be a hero that saved people with a smile, and he finished the story that way, “pro” hero and “ordinary” hero.

Ochako had a more scattered “arc,” going from wanting to help her parents make money to saving the heroes to … well, Ochako basically solved the quirk singularity doomsday, allowing kids like Eri and Himiko to grow up with sufficient counseling to live freely in society, which had the knock-on effect of reducing villainy.

And Shoto is achieving his desire to be authentically himself, breaking free from the cycles of abuse in his family. Unlike his father, he treats his fans well, earning the trust and ease his father demanded but never earned.

In other words, the failure to save the lives of Himiko and Tomura, and to save Toya in time to live outside of a hospital, was NOT the endpoint of our heroes’ arcs. The end is how they reacted to that failure and what they chose to do AFTER. Turns out, they never stopped trying to be better heroes and better people while staying supportive and friendly with each other.

…..seems like resilience in the face of failure is a major theme, yeah? Good thing I’ve got more on that next time!!!!!

Ok so I made a list of all the things that need to be addressed and all the plot lines that need to be concluded before mha ends.

• katsuki seeing a OFA vestige

• bkdk and their whole mess. Seriously there’s so much that needs to be addressed with them alone.

• toga and ochacko plotline

• address AFO, Tenko, and the vestiges. ( because im gonna be honest I don’t think we’re done with any of these characters yet. Specifically, OFA and Tenko. )

• address izuku being quirkless again. Will he still have embers by the end of the series?

• where tf izuku dad at ( I’m a dad for one truther).

That’s all I could think of up of. I honestly don’t know how all this could get addressed in 5 chapters. Half the things I listed would need multiple chapters to address them entirely. So, the only conclusion I can come to is that horikoshi is setting up for a sequel series. Either that or these last chapters will have more pages than chapters normally have in mha. I have faith that horikoshi will stick the landing with this series. Imma let him cook.

🚨 BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA CHAPTER 424 ALERT SPOILERS! 🚨

So... I can't found the first pages of the chapter. We just have Uraraka and Todoroki with their mind away. This war really touched all people psychic...

And then, a lot of Bakugou and Deku's moment...

First of all, Bakugou was there with his parents next to him

And then, Deku is in the same hospital room than All Might.

Dammit! Where is this useless Midoriya Hisashi!??

So Bakugou shows up in Deku's room again. Humm... last time, he was stopped in the middle of the hallway.

He didn't listen all the conversation between Deku and All Might but heard about the embers...

The fact that he heard Deku is Quirkless again broke him... he remembered the whole time of their childhood and when he was a bully... and still remind that Deku still chasing after him

OMG! What a crybaby when he was just in front of Deku! 😂

Anyway, there is a sweet confession from Bakugou to Deku: that he will forever be together to chasing each other. You know, rivalry is their way to say they cared for each other

Deku tried to conforting him by saying he still had some embers but he was weak for now. It will be better later.

All Might speaking now, telling that Deku was the Greatest Hero of All Time and he thanking Bakugou for saving him.

They both are amazing heroes!

Something I made in a post that I think'll be lost in the texts + expanded a bit more

These panels are chronological events following AFO's pursuit of Yoichi's Factor.

AFO could tell if people were related through a Quirk. AFO and OFA also are connected to each other. In Kamino, AFO could confidently tell All Might that OFA had been passed on, so all that All Might had left were leftover embers.

When AFO killed Kudo, he asked where Yoichi was. He knew Kudo wasn't the holder of Yoichi's Factor at that time. He also realized when looking at Yoichi's hand that Yoichi's natural Factor was so weak he hadn't registered its existence. This implies AFO could sense Factors since he was young, and Yoichi's natural Factor never stood out to him.

Below are three panels of Bruce (right to left). Bruce fought, AFO killed him, and looked away in disinterest.

When he beat down Bruce, he already had a sense that Bruce didn't hold the Factor anymore. That's why, rather than yell in his face to figure out where it is and interrogate for a long time, he pulled up his corpse to inspect him better.

Bruce's corpse isn't resisting anything. Look at his feet; AFO literally dragged him. Bruce is already dead. Yet he's looking for something from him.

Bruce doesn't have anything for him. Nothing AFO wants.

When he looks away, he's dismissing Bruce, because Bruce doesn't hold Yoichi. AFO is wondering where Yoichi is, because he knows now that he's out there somewhere. Thus the pensive look to the wind.

After Bruce is killed, AFO and Garaki meet for the first time. Shinomori has Yoichi at this time, and AFO never comes close to him, so AFO is lost. He doesn't have any leads, and Yoichi has vanished.

Now that he knows Yoichi can transfer, it's possible for Yoichi to be kept out of his reach for the rest of his life. So meeting Garaki and having access to Life Force gives AFO more time to search.

Yoichi is still missing for 18 years though, because Shinomori is in hiding. AFO couldn't find him during the Fourth's turn.

This is why, when he encounters Banjo, the Fifth and active wielder of OFA [Yoichi], AFO is smiling.

It's been a long time, but Yoichi's in reach again. He knows where he is now. And this is the first time he's encountered the current holder.

Thus his shock.

[Yet... you never behave as I wish.]

It was the first time a Quirk wouldn't let itself be stolen. This was AFO's first encounter with this wall: it doesn't transfer without the holder's consent, and requires willpower stronger than all the holders combined to override that.

The holder is never going to give him that consent. To override the collective willpower, he's going to need something greater.

Meanwhile, look at Banjo's arms. Shinomori is the catalyst to tip OFA over the edge, that an unprepared vessel will be destroyed by how strong the Quirk is.

Banjo's arms are both messed up below the shoulder, just like Midoriya used to be. And like Midoriya uses Blackwhip to reinforce himself and stay standing, Banjo uses Blackwhip to hold his fist / arm together. His hand is being wrapped to stay in a fist.

(What I think is) The reason the limbs turn red, and then purple, from breakage, is a matter of blood vessels. Small, itty bitty, fragile things.

Using OFA breaks the whole area, from bones to blood vessels, causing internal bleeding. Thus the redness. But breaking those vessels again in a second go turns the area purple, because it causes instantaneous internal bruising.

But En wasn't ripped apart by using OFA. There's a cut on his thumb that lines up with the path of destruction; AFO sliced him in half. Otherwise, he wouldn't have that cut if it were just OFA.

It's hidden by the text in [... you never behave as I wish], but depending on where you see this chapter, you can see he got cut on the thumb. It's clearer where we see Nana take his hair from him, in [I only want... to make you mine!]

I have a post in drafts about En being cut in half rather than it being because of OFA, but I also hit an image limit, so I'm gonna end here. Ta.

Why Deku Won't End up Quirkless (and Why Bakugou will Give him his Quirk)

*obvious manga spoilers through 429* (and of course this is all just my opinion)

I know OFA is gone, but it isn’t completely gone, right? Izuku still has the embers of it. Well, that’s not what I’m talking about. The OFA quirk can’t be passed on again, it's gone, but there’s nothing in canon (afaik) saying that the embers can’t be used to pass on a quirk that someone already has one more time.

Bakugou was given OFA during the events of Heroes Rising, and even though he forgot the events of the movie, he still held the quirk for a brief period of time. 

This means he could have the embers of OFA still inside him.

When Bakugou dies in ch. 362, he sees All Might, but he doesn’t see the man, he sees the vestige. I thought this was just a stylistic choice by Horikoshi when the chapter dropped, but now I think it was foreshadowing. In that chapter, we see that memory of him and Izuku happy to both have gotten All Might trading cards.

In chapter 403 when All Might is near death, he also has a vision. He sees his life play out before his eyes, and when he looks back at his path, he sees lights on the ground and his narration says,  "As for what I've done? I just happened to glance back at my path. And what I saw… seemed so very significant."

If you count the lights on the ground, there are ten of them. The tenth one in the center has explosions around it.

A few pages later, we see All Might holding one of those balls of light as he watches child Izuku and Bakugou with their own balls of light.

This scene All Might watches is the same exact scene as Bakugou’s memory.

Two things are impossible: 1. For Bakugou to see Vestige-Might and 2. For All Might to see a memory that is NOT his own, exactly as it happened.

Remember, as All Might is seeing the two boys, they are all holding the same thing, a ball of light. But in the way this scene played out, the boys were holding All Might trading cards. If they all have the same thing, well, All Might isn’t holding his own trading card. 

If you look back at those ten balls of light on the ground in 403, the biggest one in the center has stars of light around it that look like Bakugou’s explosions. Ten lights for ten One For All holders, with Bakugou as the tenth.

The trading cards aren’t trading cards, they’re One For All.

Right before Bakugou and Izuku’s eye’s meet in 403, we see them as kids holding their cards.

Then that 10th ball of light. Then a close up of Bakugou's hand holding the trading card.

I mean…

Then their eyes meet and they pull off a very coordinated move without needing to communicate.

I prefer it from a “they just know each other that well” angle, but looking back, it’s feels more like possibly the story was trying to foreshadow something to us, like they didn’t need to communicate, because their thoughts reached each other through the OFA crystalline network.

We already have precedent for this kind of memory sharing within OFA. Yoichi showed Izuku his memories of AFO and when Izuku fought ShigAFO, their memories blend together as he transferred OFA to him.

As far as Izuku being able to receive another quirk...

If Nana gave OFA to All Might however long before she died, that means she didn’t lose Float during the transfer. Which means that OFA doesn’t take the original quirk when it’s passed on, it stores a copy. All of the other users died shortly after passing it on, so its capabilities weren’t really tested. Nobody knew that the individual quirks were stored up in OFA in addition to the power stocking, so there was no way to test what the embers would be capable of.

All Might and Izuku are the only two OFA users alive and they’re both quirkless. They have no reason to suspect that the embers could be used to transfer a quirk to someone, because they were both born without quirk factors of their own. They don't have anything to pass on and had no reason to suspect that that ember was anything more than super strength. The ember is all they have left once it’s gone.

Bakugou does have something he can pass on, he still has Explosion. Since he held OFA, there’s a good chance he still has that untouched ember of OFA that’s been lying dormant inside of him. Enough for one more use. And if he does, since OFA is a quirk meant to be passed on, I think he’s going to use that ember, not for the super strength, but as it was always intended, to pass on a quirk. To pass on his own quirk on to Izuku.

I think that’s going to be his ultimate atonement, specifically because he didn’t get a prosthetic when the doctor said, “If he’s still determined to be a hero…” and he turned it down.

Then he mentioned Izuku never had a quirk to begin with. I think this means he can't use his quirk anymore, not the way he used to. Especially since he's shown to be very similar to Mirko, who loves fighting more than anything, but he did the opposite of what she chose.

Then he cried when he found out Izuku was quirkless again—genuinely devastated—and said, “What did I do to you?”

It’s a lot of things: everything in the hospital, his little chat with Edgeshot who’s not back to normal (and the face he made at his response); the new illustration by Horikoshi where we can see his arm is still non-responsive at his side; the fact that his one line in this last chapter was asking about the ember of OFA...

It all makes me think he’s going to give his quirk to Izuku once OFA is completely burned out of him (so Izuku can’t try to give it back, because we know he would); like he's gauging how much of it is left. All Might only held onto that ember for less than a year, after holding the quirk for forty; Izuku held OFA for less than a year, it's probably going to burn out very quickly, and Bakugou probably knows this.

We already know that transfer doesn’t require the recipient to be aware, because of how it was transferred from Yoichi to Kudou, and Izuku would definitely refuse to take it if offered. It would be pretty easy, Bakugou can just spit in his food really.

And narratively, Bakugou doesn’t have anywhere left to go. His story is essentially over and ended when he finished off AFO. In fact, I think he got back up and went out with such a bang (and has gotten very little screen time since), because that was the last time he was going to pursue his pro hero dream (from the standpoint of the author, not the character, who wouldn't know how badly he'd been hurt).

He’s been famous the entire story since chapter one and the entire world watched him take down the most villainous villain to ever villain on live TV. He wanted to be the strongest, but by now he knows that it’s never going to happen for him the way he wanted, and being the person to finish off AFO (with everyone’s help) is probably the highest he could ever go. He’s achieved the dream that he had at the start of the story to the best of his ability. And at the end, his dream shifted to wanting him and Izuku to keep competing at each other’s side forever, but Izuku being quirkless makes that impossible. 

But Izuku being quirkless again is what makes it possible for him to do for Izuku what nobody else but him can: pass his quirk onto him. I think that's why the way to defeat ShigAFO was to give away OFA. Izuku had to be quirkless for the story to end the way it started, but to reverse their roles.

By now, Bakugou’s grown a lot, and for quite a while in the manga his story has shifted to be about Izuku first and foremost, so I think this would be the equivalent of him finally taking that hand that he slapped away when they were kids.

And I kind of think this was what Horikoshi intended from the start, maybe? I know he said something about Heroes Rising being the original ending, I dont know about you, but I never take authors literally and prefer to let their work do the talking. That said, in Heroes Rising, the two boys pass a quirk between them, so this kind of ending would fit. I don’t know the exact quote, but Horikoshi also said something along the lines of hoping Bakugou’s ending would make people who like him and dislike him both happy. I feel like giving up the thing that defines him, his quirk, would do just that.

It's hard to argue that Bakugou hasn't atoned if he gave up the thing that had given his entire life meaning to the quirkless loser he bullied.

If you think about it, Izuku was always copying Bakugou at the beginning of the story, it went on for quite a while until he really made OFA his own. If Bakugou can’t use his quirk anymore, or can’t use his arm anymore the way he used to, and he wants Izuku to not be quirkless, he’s the perfect person to get it. He already knows all of Bakugou’s moves from years of watching him, he learned how to move like him, and his Explosion quirk is the one he’d admired his whole life. I can't imagine Bakugou would want his quirk to go to anybody else, and I think if he had the chance to give Izuku his dream back, after having crushed it for so many years, telling him he could never be a hero, he would take it in a heartbeat.

And then the final point: Endeavor. Bakugou is a parallel to him, but he had his eyes opened and started trying to atone much earlier in life. Endeavor went off the deep end very early in life; he reached the number two spot by twenty, realized he couldn't surpass him, decided to get married, try to have a baby, and by twenty-two Touya was born. Unwell behavior. Bakugou also came to this realization and ShigAFO drove it home even further: he will never surpass Izuku and he never could have surpassed All Might (nobody could, aside from the person he pass OFA onto, and despite meeting All Might the same day, he wasn't the one chosen).

In 426, Endeavor said that he had planned to retire after the final battle was over and that he’d spend every day watching Touya. Hero work was the thing that gave Endeavor pride, it was the only thing that mattered in his life, when his family should have been the most important thing. He gave up the thing that gave him meaning to finally focus on what was important, even if it was too late.

For Bakugou, it's not too late. The thing that defined him as a person his entire life, from the moment it manifested, was his quirk. If he’s a parallel to Endeavor, and if he has an ember of OFA inside him, it would make sense that he’s going to do the same thing and give up the thing that got between him and what mattered most: his friendship with Izuku.

And I think it would be a perfect end to their story if Katsuki ended up quirkless, while Izuku got an amazing quirk; and if the boys who were friends, turned bully and victim, could go back to being normal friends like when they were little.

Do you think Bakugou will give Explosion to Izuku? Do you think he's going to give him his quirk and finally tell Izuku the thing he's always wanted to hear from him, "You can be a hero"?

Do you think Deku will become the first quirkless pro hero instead? (I’d love this, but considering it keeps getting reinforced that you can’t be a pro hero in the MHA universe without a quirk (Mirio taking a sabbatical, Ragdoll, Grandpa Fist), idk… (even though Bakugou genuinely thought Izuku got into UA without a quirk and Izuku had hoped to get into the hero program without a quirk))

Do you think Bakugou could become the first quirkless pro hero?

The heroes didn't lose anything

Mirio says that they (the heroes ) lost a lot after their battles with the villains.

"Collectively we've lost so much..."

This is a straight up, obvious lie.

What's actually being shown is that they've not lost anything at all.

No members of class 1A or any other hero student died.

No important pro heroes died.

No recognizable civilians died.

And to put the cherries on top of the victory Cake:

All the societal infrastructure is already being rebuilt very quickly, to the point of everyone happily moving back in.

And no one has said a thing about the villains yet or what they SUPPOSEDLY learned from them.

The quirk vestiges were lost or rather "moved on".

But that whole thing was pretty weird from the beginning, with them being (force) ghosts in deku's head.

And nobody seems overly upset about their moving on, including the vestiges themselves.

Aoyama will be back as a hero and be with his friends, just at a later date.

Endeavor may have lost a limb but if Mirko is anything to go by, a prosthetic could fix that real quick.

So no reason he couldn't come back as a hero later if he's ever needed again.

And finally -

Deku will still be a hero no matter what.

Though he may lose one for all (at some point) in the future, he isn't going to lose his dream or his place among the heroes.

Support item technology has come so far that it can arm a quirkless skeleton man like All-might, into someone who can fight AFO and overpower him more often than not.

If Deku can get even just a fraction of this tech:

Not even the full armor, just a few pieces of it.

He could fight side by side with most heroes against most any villain.

And there's no reason to think that he wouldn't or couldn't.

Deku is the apprentice of All-might.

The trusted ally of Mei Hatsume and Melissa Shield + David Shield.

Not to mention his connections with UA, mainly Nedzu, who like All-might is loaded with cash to burn.

Momo and shoto + endeavor's support would also be included here.

There is no plausible reason why Deku can't get the support item tech that would be needed for him to keep being a hero if/when the embers of One for all do eventually run out.

And that then means:

Nothing is really at risk or at stake for Deku anymore.

Or any of the other heroes.

Is this really what the hero's journey is supposed to be?

Their consequences are real.

No matter how their stories end (though still, they definitely need to be sticking around/alive), the villains are the ones who put in the hardest, backs against the wall struggles.

Even if they wind up close to where they started, as evident by Dabi being shown with endeavor in the recent chapter.

They're the ones who gave the real sacrifices for what they fought for and cared about.

Izuku Still Has All Might’s Piece of OFA

I had this theory before but now that there’s confirmed to only be 5 chapters left I’m doubling down. An analysis(?) on how Izuku isn’t going to end the story quirkless because All Might’s piece of OFA is still within him.

All Might’s vestige is thrown at Tomura. And that’s seemingly that. But I started thinking. I doubt Horikoshi is finished with All Might & Izuku after their brief chat in 424. They were the beginning of the series, they’re sure to be the end. Izuku worked so hard to make OFA his own, only for him to lose it.

It’s devastating for Izuku. This was a gift specifically from All Might. His childhood idol. It was poetic too. In the same way quirks are passed down from parent to child-through the passing of the current holder’s DNA-OFA is passed from predecessor to successor.

So having said that, wouldn’t it make some narrative sense, if, despite losing the whole of OFA, the additional quirks, the strength of 7 previous holders, Izuku is still left with one piece of it: his mentor's piece. The problem is All Might’s piece & vestige are gone…right?

I don’t for one second doubt Horikoshi’s attention to detail. In this final panel the vestiges join together with Tomura to pummel AFO. And EVERYONE can be accounted for. Yoichi is held by AFO & the 4th is obviously missing as he was the only quirk factor/vestige stolen

So… where the hell is Toshinori?

This is the final punch of the final battle. All Might’s foe, the reason for his injury, the reason he lost Nana. It feels wrong that he’s missing for the final hit. & you’d be right, if he was missing. But his signature smile is right there! Sitting on the shirt of his successor

AND in this panel we see the same holders accounted for as they punch AFO from WITHIN. So why is All Might’s symbol on Izuku’s side? Why isn’t his vestige with the others, signifying the transfer of his piece & the fulfillment of his duty within the power he helped build?

Now to play devil’s advocate you could argue it’s because Toshinori has no quirk. The 4th was missing because danger sense was taken. The 2nd explains that each “vestige” & their respective factor is one piece of the whole that is OFA. Meaning each piece can be taken/transferred.

Toshi was quirkless. He had no factor. His consciousness within OFA is because he made the quirk his own. OFA IS All Might’s quirk. It’s why those embers remained for him. Izuku explains that it’s the same for him as well. Izuku made OFA his own, & those embers took root.

But I can’t help but feel like those remaining embers within Izuku in the current chapters aren’t actually all that’s there.

In the whole lead up to the confrontation within Tenko’s origin we see All Might’s vestige lined up right there with the other holders.

There’s not a single hint that Toshinori couldn’t be transferred as a separate piece. If Toshinori’s piece couldn’t be thrown at Shigaraki in the same way as the others due to his quirklessness then why would Horikoshi include him on the transfer attack?

And while All Might says that he felt Izuku transfer it, the scene we flashback to in 424 is before All Might’s vestige is seemingly thrown. It’s when he simply notes the feeling that the power is coming unraveled, piece by piece because Shinomori had been taken.

He felt the emotions from his consciousness within OFA & knew the power would need to be transferred to win. You could argue that panel was used because it's the last panel we saw All Might & where he noted the shared consciousness but…I keep coming back to that final hit.

Izuku isn’t content with things. He says he glimpsed his dream. Not that he achieved it. It’s not enough for him that he saved Japan. He wants to continue saving. He wants to be the greatest hero just like the man he admires most.

This kid worked so hard, nearly killed himself multiple times just to measure up, & still thinks receiving OFA was a miracle. I'm not sure what exactly will keep AM's piece but I feel like it will be his desire to support Izuku. To cling to him & give him the power he deserves

From the very start, All Might didn’t give Izuku OFA to fight a war. Toshinori gave Izuku his quirk because he too was quirkless with a dream. He wanted to make that quirkless boy's dream come true. Obviously Izuku's dream isn't over. "OFA" is gone, so is All Might, but Toshinori isn’t.

Toshi is absolutely going to do everything to help Izuku make his dream come true. But wouldn't it also be a perfect bookend if we, along with Izuku, discover that what he thought were embers were actually the remaining flames of Toshinori’s power. The single vestige left behind.

With that power, Toshinori's Power, that he honed for 40 years, Izuku can carry on his dream of being the greatest hero just like his idol and Toshinori can keep his promise to raise Izuku and see him say to the world, “I’m here.”

After all they've been through I think they both deserve it.

MHA chapter 424 (rant)

This chapter was horrible. Look, if hori thought that this chapter could provide the fans with some relief he was wrong.

This is supposed to be the epilogue or the beginning of it and half of it is just useless BKDK. Honestly this was so stupid I feel like this chapter which was labeled the epilogue could of been used to wrap up a lot of character arcs and update us on events instead of us getting some little bkdk crying ending. In all honesty I still hate bakugo and think that their arc is Hella underdeveloped considering that Izuku never gets any intropsection going on and bks development is heavily flawed.

Still hate what the series did with Izuku. Izuku as a main character and a character in general is heavily underdeveloped so I understand why he is getting the hate that he is getting. However, izuku was also a victim in this and didn't get proper development at all, like him and shigs whole storyline was sidelined and they barely formed a relationship before or even during that fight at all. Izukus lack of intropsection is also one of the reasons why he is getting hate like it's low-key hori's fault for not giving us any development when it was right there. I also think I need to remind some people that izuku is only 16 and had all of this on top of his shoulders but I see the point that shig a victim should of been saved. However, it's not like izuku didn't try his best, like he tired all he could it's at the end of the day shig that didn't accept it until it was too late. Also, can we talk about how horrible hori did izukus design dam I miss his fluffy hair at the same time I get it. Also I hate that he still has some OFA embers and all like it makes no sense I thought they were gone with that one punch that was apparently so strong it CHANGED THE WEATHER?!?! Honestly, I hate that inko is nowhere in sight and that she allowed him to go back to ua like?!?!?!?

Shigaraki deserves better. Oh dam I just wish that someone would adopt shig and izu and give them a better ending cos this isn't it. Shigarakis storyline ending sucked in all honesty especially that retcon that stated that shig apparently knew that AFO was manipulating him?!?!?! Also am I the only one whose confused as to why shigs last words were directed towards spinner. As angry as Iam I was also expecting some horrible stuff like this to pop up considering that hori has consistently been trying to separate Tenko and shigaraki so this is what we get but just even worse.

So nothing on toga and ochako? No offense but I hated that this chapter was just centered around BKDK like where was toga? Or ochako? Why is it that we only get one small panel of ochako looking pensive and sad when last time we saw her she was on the verge of death and in CRITICAL condition. Also what about toga? Like we haven't seen her in a long time. Is she alive? Is she dead? In all honesty if she is alive and gets no concequences then I would call that bad writing.

What about the todoroki family ? Poor Todoroki last time we saw him his family fully surrounded touya forgetting about him. In all honesty he deserves so much more and my arguement stands. We should of gotten an update about the todoroki family as well. Iam not a fan of enji neither am I huge fan of the direction touya/Dabis character has taken but I would of enjoyed an update.

What about the others? Kurogiri, spinner and the rest!??!!?!?! Iam bais but dam it seems like this chapter has forgotten all about the other characters it put in critical or difficult situations and just chose to focus on some stuff that's so irrelevant. Like the small panels should of been reserved for spinner and kurogiri on characters that we should of seen updates on. While we should of gotten full pages on todoroki and ochako

Also it seems like the pacing is quite fast, too fast really. How is it that they're just going back to school like I thought people resided in UA and that some of it was heavily damaged during the war? What about the chaos and destruction that's all over Japan has that been rebuilt? Also how did parents allow their kids to go back to a school that made them glorified child soldiers?

It's a shame we don't get any focus on izuku nor do we see his mother's reaction. I mean we see and get more focus on bakugo than we do when it comes to izuku and it sucks horribly.

In conclusion, I heavily disliked this chapter and giving it the title of epilogue is horrible. I bet that this is like one of the last chapters we are getting.
