The Chinese Coast Guards (CCG) have been roaming around the economic zones of my country [the Philippines], particularly the West Philippine Sea. It's been our problem for so many years and yet we haven't been heard yet, and now the tension is rising as they use physical force to expel the Philippine navy by the marines by rummaging the boats and using lasers and tear gas resulting to injuries.

This is very alarming, as our natural resources have been exploited by them, believing it's theirs although the international law beg to differ, so as the records and the maps.

IT BELONGS TO THE PHILIPPINES AND ONLY OURS, WHAT'S OURS IS OURS. IT'S CALLED WEST PHILIPPINE SEA FOR A REASON 🇵🇭🌊

Why do you like aeriseph, sorry if this comes off as rude but I'm generally not too involved in any fandoms so I can't figure out for myself why ppl like this that's just my dumbass lmao

ok i've sat on this one for like a week debating if i should answer or not but sure. i'll preface this by saying that there is no canonical basis for aeriseph in ffvii. like i can't stress enough how much i am making shit up because i like to have fun. but anyway.

the short answer is:

1. sephiroth and aerith are my two favorite fictional characters. 2. i like to draw my two favorite characters lezzing out, because i am a lesbian, and because my sephiroth is transfem. it makes me smile.

as for the longer answer:

i like how much aerith and sephiroth parallel and contrast each other. i like the idea of aerith of having a secret affair with the evil dead woman she is duty-bound to save the world from. not to mention this evil dead woman's ties to zack and the incident that took him from her. i like the idea of the planet's steward and calamity's child going against their natures because they can't resist each other, and it becomes haunting and tragic knowing aerith's eventual fate and the sort of eternal damnation that waits for sephiroth afterwards for doing something so unforgivable, considering she goes from godhood to immortal planet parasite unable to pass on. i find it soooo compelling to think that despite their feelings for each other, aerith ultimately loved the planet and her friends more, enough to do everything in her power to stop sephiroth with Holy, and that sephiroth chose an extraterrestrial brainworm masquerading as a mother over a kind-hearted woman who offered her genuine love. i like the idea of aerith drawing out all the human parts of sephiroth that sephiroth tried so hard to exorcise herself of. i could go on about this for forever but basically i just like doomed yuri.

some necessary addendums:

first, a lot of people like to imagine aerith and sephiroth as siblings. that's fine and cute and i totally get it, but that's not what i'm trying to do. i don't interact with a lot of aerith and sephiroth content that views them with that angle, even if it's cute, precisely because i don't want to cross those wires or make anyone uncomfortable thinking i'm trying to come at this from an incest or underage angle.

second, i want to add that i really don't fw the other aeriseph content i've seen out there lol. i just think i'm into aeriseph for fundamentally different reasons, considering i have no desire to depict them as a het pairing or create gooner noncon content and the like. it isn't that i'm better than anyone, i just don't want to be associated with what goes on in that pairing tag on ao3, and i can't blame anyone who doesn't like aeriseph for that very same reason. i have yet to see someone go about aeriseph in the same l way as i do (sighhhhhh </3) so until then i'm just going to continue playing with my barbie dolls in my locked ivory tower. i am delusional but i am free. hope this helps <3

I still interact with source pretty heavily- maybe I should mention that somewhere- but... It's a trip going through Rebirth.

I don't want to get into it too much yet. I think we're at...Chapter 6, now? Remaining as spoiler-free as I can, as well. (Something done more for Aki's boyfriend, since he wants the experience of almost-full-blind-run of the game, as well. We usually don't mind spoilers all that much.)

Anyways, my point-

It feels...odd. Not in a "wrong" way; if anything, it feels like seeing myself. It feels like my internal doubts for acting a certain way being validated. I'm being seen in ways I...hadn't been doing for myself, honestly speaking.

I appreciate it. I cherish it. But there is still something uncanny about how I'm still me, even while in another world like this. Restrained to someone else's mind, but still wholly myself. Still able to know too much with little effort.

...I don't know what to make of it right now. But I'll continue doing the best I can.

ooo i used to be really big into classpecting in my homestuck days. off the top of my head, id say cloud: maid of void, tifa: mage of blood, barret: seer of doom, aerith: heir of hope, yuffie: thief of time, red: knight of breath, zack: knight of void, and seph: witch of light!! (unfortunatley i dont have a super great hold on cid/vincent/reeve as characters soi dont have a really clear idea for them). happy 4/13!!

Cloud: Maid of Void, I can definitely see this as someone filled with nothing or battling with the sense of nothing inside of him. I actually could also see him being a Prince of Blood or something along those lines, a double-edged sword where he starts out destroying his relations with other people, but then being able to use his bonds with others more as a 'power of friendship' style weapon. Also possibly Doom, intially dooming himself but ultimately utilizing it to doom and destroy Sephroth...?

Tifa: Mage of Blood. I love this as Tifa being away of her connections to others and trying to utilize those connections, be the glue that's keeping people together, and especially utilizing that to keep Cloud together. I could also see her being a Maid of Life, especially in regards to how she ultimately is the one who heals Cloud's mind.

Barret: Seer of Doom is such an interesting choice! Like, how he can see the state of the world, which makes it all the more interesting how much he strives to change things. Another could be Knight of Hope, by the way he's sort of the face of the AVALANCHE, which is hope, and how he can provide that hope and drive to others.

Aerith: Heir of Hope, super goes with Aerith and just totally embodying hope for the team, and then how that hope takes a hit with her death. I'd suggest also Heir of Time, with the connection of death and fate really matching her, especially in regards to Rebirth.

Yuffie: Theif of Time. The girl is born to be a theif lol, though giving her such a death-connected aspect is super interesting. I could maybe see Theif of Mind or Space better? Yuffie's a hard one to match up tbh. Mind because it has to do with karma and intelligence, and I think it'd combine interestingly with how Yuffie is often underestimated, as well as the retribution she's seeking for Wutai. And then Space because she strikes me as creative I guess haha (and let's be real, I am a little bit trying to get both Time and Space into here).

Nanaki: Knight of Breath. Fuck yeah give the one who was trapped the freedom aspect. No notes, I love this.

Zack: Knight of Void. I like how this connects him to Cloud, but I'm not sure how I like it for Zack. To me, he hits me more as a Page of Light or something that actually reached his full potential, with Light and fortune kinda going well with the DMW and then how it fails him in the end.

Sephiroth: Witch of Light. Super interesting take! Controlling fate! I think you could also easily make him a Witch of Doom, which is also kind of fate-inclined, but if I recall correclty Doom is often more towards oneself. Still either way I could see it.

Cid: I don't know him super well either, but I could see him being Hope or Blood considering he becomes the leader after Cloud is gone and kind of needs to rally the troops. Maybe a Rogue, being able to take those aspects and share them around to the group?

Vincent: Considering his whole deal with the various beasts inside of him, I'd be tempted to say Heir or Prince of Rage. But then, considering he's still alive despite everything he's been through, i could also see him being a Life player.

Reeve: Easy, Mage of Heart, aware of his power of splintering himself and utilizing that with Cait Sith. Also possibly adding to how he's at the 'heart' of a lot of the problems aka within Shinra Tower.

I like to think of romance on my downtime- much like I did before all of this, really- and.

It suddenly occurred to me, after re-reading an old favorite (and musing on it and dwelling on said romantic thoughts), that... I don't think I'd be able to handle a love confession.

Which feels silly to say-! But I think if I got one, I'd have to lay back for hours and think on it. Turning it over and over in my mind, like an especially smooth stone.

It's not in a bad way either, I should clarify! "Unable to handle a love confession" is less "I'm not going to date [at all]/right now," but more so... "I wouldn't know what to say and would need to process it. Even if it was painfully obvious from the jump, I'd need to sit with that confession for a few hours to wrap my mind around it."

(Any meaning beyond that...is beyond me! I just thought it'd be fun to share; I'm definitely wanting to do that more, going forward.)

sobbing crying punching the ground over the way aerith and cloud are platonic soulmates. like. they hold hands while walking or chatting, theyre partners in crime, and elmyra honestly thinks theyre dating but theyre so close that it doesnt rly matter what other ppl think is going on. aerith is so full of life that its contagious and cloud cant help but become more lighthearted + teasing + kind around her. they watch eachothers backs, cloud gives her his thoughts before she acts and aerith inspires him to take action more often and loosen up a little.. they have the running bit that clouds her bodyguard even tho shes lived in the slums most of her life and can protect herself just fine.. idk theyre so sweet, their chemistry is insane

Obligatory post before FF7: Rebirth comes out.

To preface everything, I did NOT grow up playing the original games. Only had the Nintendo 64 as a kid, so unfortunately did not get to experience FF7 until now, as an adult, with my first look into this world being the the remake. This is important because it has swayed my view on the story only in a way arguably someone who has never experienced this game before could experience it.

I knew about The Scene but I've not SEEN it. I've read about it, heard it talked about and analyzed but that's it. It's the game equivalent to the Star Wars "I am your father" plot twist.

The best way I can explain the feelings I get about these characters is best described in what Cloud is experiencing here:

Anticipatory grief. A feeling of knowing but not KNOWING. It's that thought of looking at someone and knowing they will die but you just don't know how or when. There is this idea that the game creators are changing The Scene or outright giving Cloud the ability to save Aerith, but until Rebirth comes out there is only speculation.

I love these characters and I love Cloud and Aerith's relationship. There is so much emotion in how these two are portrayed, the pain of the unknown and the anticipation of grief and loss. Every time I hear Aeirth's theme I burst into tears. The "I want to meet you" and how she sees Cloud and cherishes their time spent together is so precious that I can't really explain it in any other way.
